Starting point is 00:00:00 Instead of me annoying her, I was demonstrating to her the persistence and the respectful diligence that I will take with her referrals as well. Starting point is 00:00:51 Thanks for joining me. Enjoy the show. The traits you should have to land your next client. Real estate coach Dan Roshan from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents shares his experience applying for a job. In this episode, Dan explains that while applying, there is one quality that you should always display when applying for a job. Learn this quality in this new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode. Here's the deal with applying. When you're applying, you will only get accepted like maybe one, if any. A month ago, I applied for this company for about eight years now.
Starting point is 00:01:29 It's been about eight years since I lost the account. Get a standard, like here's the email back. I sent her a Facebook request. She didn't accept it. Then I sent her an email. I'm writing to express my sincere interest in obtaining referrals from your business. Your company has a strong reputation for providing quality referrals, yada, yada, yada. I mentioned that I'm a veteran because they work with veterans.
Starting point is 00:01:50 I greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss how we can work together, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So you can see just like a really nice, kind message. I didn't read it all to you, but you get the gist, I hope. He replies back the next day. Thank you so much. As we mentioned, you'll know within 90 days of applying, basically a brush off, right? So then I say, okay. And then the next day I sent her back. Thank you for the email. Consider me as a potential network agent. I appreciate your
Starting point is 00:02:15 kind words about my profile. And then just basically again, a nice, again, I'm intending right now to develop the relationship, which was one of the reasons why I friended her on Facebook. So then you fast forward to a month after that. And I just send her, hey, I was thinking about you wanted to reconnect. I appreciate the opportunity. I also understand it's unlikely that you have a need for network agents. That being said, if you do consider adding an agent like me to your network who will respectfully follow up with your leads as I am with you. Even if you have no need, would you consider adding me? And then she didn't reply to that. OK, so I give you sort of like an idea of like you just don't like apply.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Right. Like you have to treat it like this is a source of somebody that can give me 12 to 36 transactions a year. OK. And so you have to be smart where I'm not going to like, I don't want to annoy her. Right. But when I sent the email 30 days later, I sort of use that as like a, you know, I sort of was like a little bit, you know, like, Hey, certainly you'd want an agent like me, who's going to be following up with your, with your, with your leads. Right. So I, so I wanted to make sure that instead of me annoying her i was demonstrating to her the persistence and the respectful uh diligence that i will take with her referrals as well because ultimately she should want that guy
Starting point is 00:03:35 in her court following up on her leads because she gets a bonus on my closings right like and so it's like you know so you guys just sort of be smart about the way you're framing it all right so we'll get that list to you angela but then for everybody here if you're going to apply for those things you got to see like like seriously i've been working on them for eight years and you know how long i'll continue until they say yes why not i mean it's it's this is the way that we make money this is the way and that's why i go back to you only have one job everything else supports that so going back to that you only have one job. Everything else supports that. So going back to the you only have one job, I'm not trying to disqualify every single thing else that there is to do.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I'm just saying when you have the mindset that I only have one thing to do, you'll be more likely to be successful than not. Every single thing else is like a subset to support that one thing. Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show, I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone, have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
