Sales coach Dan Rashan from No Broke Months for Salespeople talks about the importance of confidence.
In this episode, Dan explained that the attitude on how you view things and your confidence is crucial to achieving success.
Learn how your confidence can affect your business in the latest episode of No Broke Months for salespeople. Have you ever started a journey before and you felt excited about the
journey and maybe a little bit nervous as well? Yesterday I was hiking the Shenandoah Trail
with my daughter. I was imagining taking five to seven months to actually do the entire trail on
my own. I was imagining the journey and I could imagine if I was starting
the journey today that I'd be a little bit nervous. I'd be a little bit excited, but I'd
also be confident that I would reach my new destinations. I have zero hiking experience
besides like day trips out, you know, like zero, but I got confidence I'll be able to figure it
out. I got confidence if my body needs to improve that I would improve my body's condition to be able to allow me to do it successfully.
But I have faith that I would do it like nothing but faith.
So I want you to consider as a new real estate agent or a new business owner, the feelings that you had or have that may be similar to that.
Right. And hopefully you have the confidence you may or may not may be similar to that, right? And hopefully you have
the confidence. You may or may not have the confidence or had the confidence. But what I
recognize is that the greater confidence that you have in yourself, the more likely it is that
you're going to succeed. And what causes you to have the right to have that confidence or not,
you know, we just manifest it. That's up to you. If you can have two people with zero experience in a new field and one person can be like confident
in their own abilities to figure it out and the other person, not so much. Okay. But that,
that's the characteristic right there that I've recognized is a key ingredient to the potential
of success. So being a real estate agent can be really, you know, it can
be unsettling, right? It could be one that, you know, your future as an agent is still being
determined. And, you know, you may be considering like, I was thinking about that this morning,
we're having a pretty good month this month. I'm making some big moves. I just hired a key
player for my company. That's going to be an expense that's a risk.
And I'm looking at my business. I'm like, you've got a little bit of a pipeline. I got two listings
coming on. Got a couple of buyers I'm working with, but man, winter's coming up. I got to get
to it. I don't have enough in the pipeline right now where I feel completely comfortable that
we're going to make it till January, even though I've got a lot of income coming in this
month and next, and I got a little bit of work coming in, right? And that's true of all of us,
right? Like we're always like a little bit of, okay, where's that next client coming from?
What happens if I have like a crappy run of it? I've had crappy runs of it, by the way.
This 2022 to 23 was probably the longest run that
I've had that's been dry. Now, fortunately, I've always had some closings, but it could be
challenging to face the unknown with optimism when we can't see the future. And we never know
whether the actions that we take today are going to deliver the results that we want.
And we seldom have certainty about the outcome of the decisions that we make.
Consequently, we're often uncomfortable about our future.
As a result, we're often, you know, we're like, man, what the heck?
So what do agents commonly experience
when they don't know the future? So that's like a common element of our business. Anxiety is
a common emotion that arises when the future is unpredictable. However, to navigate our sales
career, we need to believe that we have the ability to succeed.
We need to believe that we have the ability to control our lives.
We need to believe that we can influence the future.
And our belief system is the number one thing that's going to create a positive future.
Or the lack of a belief system is the number one thing that will create the lack of
a positive future. Thanks for listening to the show today. I am truly passionate about watching
