So if you don't like your first thought, then I'm going to encourage for you to choose to edit your second one.

Thoughts that will guide you to improvement.
Sales coach Dan Rashan from No Broke Months for Salespeople explores the transformative power of thought.
In this episode, Dan explains that improvement isn't just about adopting new strategies.
It's rooted in guiding one's thoughts toward intentionality, positivity, and growth. Discover the strategies to break free from
limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering ideas that propel you forward in the latest No
Broke Months for Salespeople episode. I want to go back to the beginning about the gratitude.
Something I neglected to share with you about that is, is watch your thoughts. Okay. So we talked about emotions. We talked about the fact that your emotions come as a result of your
thoughts. And when you can find gratitude, then you can edit your thoughts. Right. But one thing
I want you to understand is I used to teach that there's two thoughts and somebody here,
I was having a conversation with them once upon a time not too long ago, and I realized, wait, there's actually three thoughts. And what I mean by that is your first
thought is something happens, and you have a thought about it. That thought that you have
is an automatic response. Okay, now I'll tell you about in a second about how you can edit that
automatic response to be able to get better first thoughts.
But before I do, let me finish this piece.
So that first thought that you have, that's an automatic boom.
It just happens like that instantaneously in milliseconds.
And we're not necessarily in control of that first thought.
We are always in control of the second thought.
The second thought is we can edit it. So if you don't
like your first thought, then I'm going to encourage for you to choose to edit your second one.
Because when you have better thoughts, then you have better feelings.
Now, here's the kicker. There's a third thought. And that third thought is what I'm going to say, push aside.
Okay?
So you have a first thought.
If it doesn't serve you, come up with a second thought and then ignore the third thought.
What's the third thought?
The third thought is a conversation internally about judgment.
It's a conversation internally about, well, is the first thought right or is the second thought right?
Am I good enough?
Because when you talk about the number one sales mistake is not good enough.
So that third thought is oftentimes a critical judgment of ourselves.
So what I encourage for you to do,
first thought comes in instantaneously.
Edit it with a second thought and stop.
Don't let that third thought of judgment,
of self-sabotage, of self-whatever it is that you're debating internally,
don't let that occur.
Thanks for listening to the show today.
