Estate Agents talks about the main problem that gets in the way of your sales. In this episode,
Dan talks about how to find the root cause of this issue, get rid of it, and become a
better agent. Learn more about this issue and how to remove it from your system in this new No Broke
Months for Real Estate Agents episode. Who here has been rejected before besides me? Well, let me,
let's be authentic. Let's be real. Does it hurt to get rejected? Yeah, it does. Okay. And so whether
that's, you know, when you were young and single, you know, the pretty girl across the street,
or whatever the case may be, you know, maybe at a social event, you know, just being ghosted by a
friend, or, you know, maybe not getting the job that you wanted. Those are all forms of rejection,
and they all hurt. And, you. And successful real estate agents are no
different than other people. The difference between a successful real estate agent and an
unsuccessful or a moderately successful real estate agent is the fact that the successful
real estate agent gets rejected more so, more times. Would you guys agree with that? That the successful ones get
rejected the most? So what causes them to get rejected the most? Yeah, they take more shots
and they don't let the rejection mean anything about them. I can't tell you how many times I've
coached somebody and as I've coached them, their biggest challenge is just the fact that they don't
want to be rejected.
That's it.
That's the only thing.
If they could get past just being rejected, they'd be a successful real estate agent.
Right?
Sometimes it's that simple.
And so we call this the gauntlet of rejection because when you're able to get past that fear stopping you, then nothing will stop you.
So what causes fear? Maybe not feeling
wanted, maybe not feeling good enough. So it's essential for us to overcome fear is to identify
the root cause of the issue. Because fear is not actually fear of rejection or denial, it's fear of
humiliation, or it's an intense dislike of feeling inferior. It happens
when people exclude us, when people reject us. Now that we understand what fear is, now we
understand where it comes from, now what the heck do we do about it? What do you fear in sales?
And I want you to be for real. What is it that you fear in sales? Is it calling an expired listing?
Is it going to for sale by owner? Is it cold calling? Is it calling an expired listing? Is it going for sale by owner? Is it cold calling?
Is it hosting an open house?
Is it asking a friend or family member for a referral?
Write down one to three things that you fear in sales.
When you look at that thing in front of you that you fear,
what consequence such as humiliation,
embarrassment or ridicule are you afraid of?
Now look at that consequence that you're
specifically afraid of you have a choice moving forward when you encounter that thing that in the
past would make you feel ridiculed embarrassed minuscule judged and now you have the option
to feel empowered confident strong have faith in yourself, powerful, take action.
And the next time that you're in that position that previously triggered something that you
didn't like, I want you to now embrace the strength that you now possess.
What we just did is we're reprogramming ourselves.
We talk about this in the self-coaching model, about the programming leads to your thoughts,
leads to your feelings, leads to your actions, leads to your results. And what we're doing is
we're feeding your psyche, your subconscious, your being to understand that the next time you're in
that situation, you will choose something different. Instead of feeling small, you can be big.
