What is the self-coaching model? Real estate coach Dan Rochon from No Broke Months for real
estate agents discusses the self-coaching model. In this episode, Dan talks about how you can
program yourself to change your response and actions to get positive results. Learn the self-coaching
model in the latest No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode.
All right. So what the self-coaching model is. The self-coaching model is the reason why
your friend dates the same guy who's abusive over and over and over again. It's the reason why
your cousin or your family members make the same mistake over and over and over and over again.
It's the reason why your brother or your sister keeps coming up with the same challenges over and
over and over again. Now, if you notice, I pointed that to somebody else
external, right? But guess what? It also is the reason why you get the same results over and over
and over again. And so what the self-coaching model is, is it's a closed loop that will cause
you to get those results over and over and over again. And so what it starts with, it starts with your
circumstance. And we're going to change the circumstances into something at the end of this
model, right? But the circumstances, it's raining outside. The circumstance is I'm watching Fox News
or CNN News, and it's agitating me because it's given this sort of conflict. The circumstance is
whatever the circumstance is.
What the circumstance is, then you're going to have some thoughts about that circumstance. So let's say it's the news that you keep watching. So if it's the news that you keep watching,
and if it agitates you, then you're going to have agitated thoughts. Does that make sense to
everybody? So if you have agitated thoughts, then you're going to have agitated feelings.
So if it's the news you're watching and it makes you think bad thoughts, then you're going to have agitated feelings. So if it's the news you're watching and it makes you think bad thoughts,
then you're going to have bad feelings or aggravated, agitated.
And if you feel aggravated,
then you're going to take actions that an agitated person would take.
And if you take the actions that an agitated person will take,
then you're going to get what the agitated person gets.
And then when you get what the agitated person gets, then you continue to add into your circumstance and that goes all the way
around. So to remind you, it is the circumstance leads to what you think, what you think leads to
what you feel, what you feel leads to how you act, how you act leads to your results and your results
then put you back into your circumstance. Well, if
that's a closed loop, what do I do about it? Here's what you do about it. You change the circumstance
and you take control over the circumstance and then you make that into your programming.
So now instead of allowing that circumstance to be something that I continue to place myself into,
I'm going to change my programming.
So in this case, it's going to be what, you know,
what am I putting into my head?
And the way that you can change the programming
include things like meditation, affirmations, visualization,
reading, such as real estate evolution,
listen to podcasts, such as the No Broke Months podcast.
That is the things that you can change to change
your programming. So as you change your programming, then your circumstance changes.
So what if you can't change your circumstance? What if it's raining outside and you can't do
anything about that? But you can do something about the way you view the rain. Because in the
very same sense, we can look at that rain and be like, man, it's freaking raining outside.
We can also sit there and say, you know what?
I'm going to go jump in the puddles and play like a kid, same circumstance,
different, you know, different way to view it.
So if you're programming yourself to say, I'm going to,
I'm programming a fun life.
I'm programming a life that I'm going to take something that is maybe some people may view as bad.
And instead, I'm going to view it as good.
I'm going to find the goodness within it.
You'll see that you start transforming your circumstance to something that's empowering
rather than inhibiting.
And then that changes the way you think about it, the way you feel about it, the actions
that you take and the results that you get.
Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today.
