What to do to prevent your client from getting overwhelmed.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Real estate coach Dan Roshan from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents talks about being considerate of your client's feelings. In this episode, Dan discusses that once overwhelmed, clients might have a fight or flight situation that you can prevent by saying the script. In this new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode, learn about how to ease your clients before they make rash decisions. So the logistics of moving, insurance, particularly moving, that's the biggest one. Utilities, pets, dogs, kids, husbands, schools. And that's important, right? But yes, and maybe registered for schools, maybe something you need to do right now. And then after you register, then that's a bigger, broader picture of these are the right school. What's the kid going to experience in the school, right? So there's sort of a dual thing there. Now, when you experience all that, how do you feel? There's one word I'm looking for. I know I'm going to get this one.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Overwhelmed. Boom, there it is. Now, when you feel overwhelmed, we all act differently. For me, when I feel overwhelmed, you know how I react is with I freeze. Okay? So when you're stressed, there's three options. You can fight, you can fly, or you can freeze. Okay? I'm more common to freeze before I fight. You can fight, you can fly, or you can freeze. Okay. I'm more common to freeze before I fight. Seldom will I fly.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Okay. But understanding like when there's overwhelm, it's going to be one of those three things, but it may be like a sequential type thing of what people are going to experience. And there's really not like more common of one than the other. I'm just, when I say I freeze first, that's when I'm like, that's when I don't see a solution to a problem. And I freeze until I see the solution. And the second I see the solution, I get into action. Okay. So something like the logistics of all this, I probably want to freeze because it all seems pretty apparent to me what the actions are.
Starting point is 00:03:06 So I would just get an action. But some people would avoid. Some people would fly. Okay, and they still have to handle it all, right? So again, just understanding the emotions of your client. Now, when you understand the emotions of your clients, then you as an agent, now we understand anxiety. We understand logistics. We understand fear. Particularly with a younger client, we understand the overwhelm of the money. And it could be the payment.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And it also could be a half a million dollars. So now that we understand what they're experiencing what do we do about it allay their fears and their concerns so hey though this is natural every client feels exactly what you're feeling right now yeah and i would say yes and address it before it's addressed. Right? So you may be feeling right now a little bit of overwhelm. You may even be frozen, not sure what to do next. You may be running away from the situation emotionally, or you may be ready to take action. And I understand because what you're experiencing is perfectly normal. In fact, all my clients feel the overwhelm of, I'm committed to half a million dollars. Yet, when you understand that it's not a half a million dollars, it's $4,100 a month, of which we've already discussed that you're very comfortable to pay. And I get that the movers and the insurance companies and the utilities and all that is a lot for you, which is why I'm going to do most of that for you. At the very least, I will guide you through this.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show, I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone, have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
