In this episode, Dan discusses how many days it takes for you to develop your lead generating habits that will lead you to success. Learn how many days it takes to develop a habit that will make you successful in the latest No Broke Months for Salespeople episode. After a certain amount of days, I've heard 66, I've heard 21, but whatever the number of days it is for a habit to really be established. For me, a habit could be established in one day.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And the reason why I say that is because, you know, it's taken the framework out to a year, which seems, you know, it's like 1%, 1%, 1%. Don't worry about the year. Just worry about the 1%. Don't worry about the 66 days or the 21 days. Just worry about today. Okay. Like, so let's just break this down into the simple, because I think that gets a little bit like, ah, I got to do this for 21 days before, or I got to do this for 66 days. And if I miss a day, I'm a failure. And now I judge myself and I start calling myself bad names, right? Like we want to stay away from that. Just do it today. And then tomorrow, just do it tomorrow, but set yourself up to make sure
Starting point is 00:02:37 that you're set up to have things that you love to do. And now it becomes easy lifting. You're not, you're not pushing anything hard. The last thing that I want to make sure that everyone heard was to set yourself up for success. So what that means, for example, is if you're lead generating in nine minutes from this moment, that in nine minutes from now, you press the button, you go. It's not nine minutes from now, you go get coffee, you BS for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, you fumble around getting phone numbers, and now it's 1115 and you haven't made a call yet. Because that's a typical, what I observe in the lead generation rooms, what happens. Or I'd rather see you only do one hour rather than three hours of just actually doing the work. Like at 930, boom, go.
Starting point is 00:03:25 The longer you push it off, the harder it becomes, whether to do it or not to do it, but just the harder it becomes, okay? Because you start feeling that anxiety and you start feeling that regret and you start beating yourself up. Maybe if you're present to it. Maybe if you're just not present to it at all, it's just like, boom, it just goes by and you're not even worried about it, right? For me, if I'm not on the phones by 9 45 every minute past then i get this anxiety it's
Starting point is 00:03:52 it's like going to the gym the hardest part for some people going to the gym is going to the gym okay and then it's like oh i i said i'd go to the gym at nine i said i'd go to the gym at 9. I said I'd go to the gym at 6.30. And then you don't go, oh, I'll just go later. And then you start playing these mental mind-ups. Thanks for listening to the show today. I am truly passionate about watching great business owners like you and salespeople that grow. And nothing excites me more than hearing your incredible success stories. And I invite for you.
