Starting point is 00:00:00 or whatever it may be that you desire to have. And the more clarity that you can get on that, the more power it will give to you. But it all ties back into your why. And now that you understand why you're doing what you're doing, then you understand the ways how, and you select from the ways how that aligns with your superpower. Now you've got motivation.

Real estate coach Dan Rashan from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents explores the various facets of personal development and motivation. Dan discusses that internal motivation is a understand why you do what you do, whether that be to pay your bills, to be a worthy father, to not be a drunken dad, or whatever it may be that you desire externally, internally, that you desire to have. And the more clarity that you can get on that, the more power it will give to you. And then when you understand that, now how can I do it? In real estate sales, how can you do it? You go through all the different things that you can do in real estate sales, and you map them all out. When you map them all out, you can do open houses, you can do bandit signs, you can do video marketing, you can do social media, you can do banging on doors, cold calling, expires for sale by owners. There's 1,100 ways that you can make sales that you can find business.
Starting point is 00:02:48 And if you map them all out, here's all the different ways that I can make sales. Here's why I'm intending to make sales, why I am making sales. Then the last piece of that is simply to find your superpower. What makes you great? What would your spouse, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, what is it that they would say that you are freaking special at doing? What is it that they would say makes you kick ass? What is your superpower? And now that you understand what your superpower is, and you understand why you're doing it, and you understand how you can
Starting point is 00:03:34 do it, now it's simply, if this is my superpower and this is my how, now here's the hack. The hack is I know why, but now how, and then just do it. The how is all the different ways that you could do it, but that's not the how that's the ways you could do it. And you pair that with your superpower. And if you are like somebody who engages with people, if you're somebody who makes people feel good, you like talking to people, you enjoy the conversations that you have. People enjoy having conversations with you, and you're sort of good with talking to people, then you could consider taking a look at all those hows and say, you know what? Open house. Open house aligns with my superpower. If you're like me and you're sort of, you know, you're sort of big picture, you're sort of, you know, you're willing, you're driven, you're willing to take action.
Starting point is 00:04:39 You're willing to be able to get rejected. You just don't care. You look at that picture of how I started my business doing expired listings. I don't do them anymore because of the time that it takes to do it. I do other things, but that could be a way looking at the house that you could take action, but it all ties back into your why. And that's a no BS why. That's not to change the world. My why may be at a different level than your why. When I started, my why was I make sales. So I never have to go back and wait tables ever again. That was my why when I started making real estate sales. Maybe that resonates more closely with what you're doing. And that's completely appropriate.
Starting point is 00:05:34 And now that you understand why you're doing what you're doing, then you understand the ways how, you understand your superpower, and you select from the ways how that aligns with your superpower, now you've got motivation. Now you've got a way to be able to take action. And by the way, motivation is just simply, I don't know if this is a scientific definition or what. This is my definition. Motivation is just wanting to do something and doing it. That's it. That's all motivation is. Wanting to do something and doing it.
