I'm the host of the No Broke Months podcast,
Starting point is 00:00:42 which is a show for real estate agents to help you have no broke months. Thanks for joining me. Enjoy the show. Where should you focus your efforts and energy? Real estate coach Dan Rashan from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents talks about looking for gratitude in other ways. In this episode, Dan talks about being grateful and learning to accept and adapt to specific problems. Learn where to focus your energy in this new No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode. There are certain things that we can control and certain things that we cannot control. And this is so easily said, but so freaking hard to do.
Starting point is 00:01:21 And I want to acknowledge that. And here's what's easily said. When it's raining outside, it's raining outside. There ain't nothing you can do about it. But, and I swear to you, man, I wish I had my phone in my hand. I saw this little kid, probably about three years old. All right. And he, this was about three weeks ago. And I was coming up to a stoplight and this little kid was jumping in the puddles, right? It was the cutest freaking thing I ever saw, right?
Starting point is 00:01:49 And I'm like, and if I would have been quicker on the trigger with my phone, I would have taken a videotape of that. So the point being is if it's raining outside, you get all, you know, you get annoyed, you can make it ruin your day. You can jump in the puddle. You know, there's a lot of different things we can do mentally about it. And you can also choose to bring an umbrella. But guess what you're not doing? You're not going to make it not rain. So what you're in control of is what you want to focus your efforts and your energy on. What you're not in control of, it just is what it is. So Teddy got fired yesterday. That sucks. We can acknowledge that,
Starting point is 00:02:32 right? Dan got fired two and a half weeks ago. That sucks, sort of. It sucked for a second, but not really. Why not really? Because I looked on the MLS a couple of days after I got fired and it's on Redfin and they, guess what, raised the price $20,000. It's like, okay. You know, like, like, you know, that ain't going to work for you. So, so, you know, so really now I transfer, transferred it to gratitude. Ted, you could also, and I'm not sure if you're there right now or not, but you could also look for the gratitude in a circumstance, which for you is, I know that you had a really, really good offer to present to them and they rejected it. So the gratitude that you could find is, you know what, I don't need to deal with somebody who really isn't emotionally
Starting point is 00:03:23 ready to rock and roll. Okay, because you actually did your job and you found them a buyer. Okay, so you could take a look to say, well, again, what could I control? I don't have to worry about the emotional energy of dealing with somebody who is displaying unreasonable actions. Okay, now listen to the way that I'm saying this. And I'm being transparent to you guys. This is a developed Dan, an undeveloped Danny would have said now you don't have to deal with an asshole. OK, so I'll say it in that way as well, because that may resonate with some of you.
Starting point is 00:03:57 All right. It would have resonated with me 20 years ago. All right. But I do recommend to not label people because, you know, you just acknowledge the actions and then that's it. So what's the actions of that seller? The actions of that seller were you presented them an offer. It was a great offer. They said, no, that's it. Now I don't have to work with that person right there. Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show, I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone, have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
