Starting point is 00:00:00 There have been many, many times I've been in a house and I look in the room and I see the energy of the room where I've got one person but not the other. Is that useful for me to recognize? Absolutely. So then I can address it. So how could I address it in that instance? Welcome to the No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents podcast. Active listening. All right. And define that for us, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Being present in the conversation and truly just paying attention to not only what they're saying, but how they're saying it. Okay. Almost, almost. Really, really close. Yeah. Paying attention to the energy. Boom. Paying attention to the energy. Okay, so if we remember what rapport is, is that interconnection of energy. What active listening is, is that you're paying attention to that connection. Now, the things that Jeff said are accurate,
Starting point is 00:01:58 yet they're accurate on a surface level to really truly actively listen. You're paying attention to that energy. Now, be in rapport, ask adept questions, the adept questions, guide them to a solution that you want to guide them towards, such as hire me, and then actively listen. So now you're paying attention to the energy. There have been many, many times I've been in a house, and I go for okay, next steps, okay, the paperwork. And I look in the room and I see the energy of the room where I've got one person, but not the other. Is that useful for me to recognize?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Absolutely. So then I can address it. Remember we talked about labels the other day. So how could I address it in that instance? Here's how you can address it. First, when you're paying attention to that one person who's not tracking with you, intend to label it. Okay. So again, what's a label? You label the energy, you label the experience. So you see that person who's not tracking, you say, Rosalie, you're married,
Starting point is 00:02:57 right? Rosalie? Correct. What's your husband's name? Taylor. Rosalie, Taylor, it looks like you're interested to hire me. And Rosalie, I just feeling I'm sensing that you may have a concern or a question. Do you have a concern or a question? So you see what I did there was I labeled, it seems like you may have a concern. It seems like you may have a question. So I'm going to throw it out there on the table I'm not going to let it go past me so I label it first and then I confirm do you have a concern or a question now Rosalie could have at that point says no I don't I don't have a question or she could have said no I'm clear I'm good basically the same words right now if she would have said the first one no I don't have any questions.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I would not have let it pass. We said, oh, so you don't have any questions? Are you sure? And then most likely the concern comes out. But you only get that by paying attention to the energy. I'm not concerned about the words she's saying. I'm concerned about the energy. Thank you so much for listening. You are freaking amazing.
