If it's raining out, you can bring an umbrella to this activity, but you can't do anything
about the fact that it's raining.
Because if you can't do anything about the circumstance, just say, yep, it's raining
out.
Now what am I going to do?

Why you can't let circumstances dictate your actions.
Real estate coach Dan Rochon from No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents discusses circumstances and objections.
In this episode, Dan explains that instead of worrying about situations beyond your control,
it's better to find a way around them and take action to overcome them.
Learn why this mindset is essential in the latest No Broke Months for Real Estate Agents episode.
You can have reasons or results, but you can't have both.
I did a class last week about reasons or results.
So what I hear, and I hear this as a coach a lot.
In fact, one of the things that we do when people are getting ready for the five-day class is we ask the question,
what are you struggling with? Probably 50 or so people that say, here's what I'm struggling with.
I'm struggling with the fact that interest rates are the highest. I'm struggling with the fact that there's less supply and demand than there was previously. I'm struggling with the fact that
I can't get anybody to agree to buy or sell.
Now, I got a question for you. What I just described to you, are those circumstances?
Meaning, is there something that you can do about the circumstance or the objections? So,
is it a circumstance or an objection that interest rates are 7%, 8 seven eight percent instead of two three percent is that a
circumstance or an objection so if it's a circumstance can you do anything about it
about the circumstance if it's a circumstance probably not yeah i'm going to do the circumstance
over here it's raining out can you do anything about it no can you bring an umbrella okay that's
the act that you can't do anything about the rain but you could do anything about it? No. Can you bring an umbrella? Okay. You can't do anything about the rain, but you could do something about your activity.
To my coaching students, I say, hey, what are you struggling with?
I'm struggling with it.
It's raining.
You guys hear the absurdity of that?
I'm not calling them absurd.
It's just from a generalization.
Do you see the correlation there?
I'm struggling that interest rates are 8%.
I'm struggling that the market's 50% of what it
was a year ago. I'm struggling with the fact that there's much less activity today than there ever
was before. But what was the question? The question was, what are you struggling with? Meaning
the activity, not the circumstance. And so sometimes what we do is we focus on the circumstance
and misunderstand it as anything we can do anything about. But that's not true. If it's
raining out, you can bring an umbrella of this activity, but you can't do anything about the
fact that it's raining. So now if the interest rates are seven.5%, can you do anything about that?
Now, so why the hell do you even focus on it?
Because if you can't do anything about the circumstance, just say, yep, it's raining out.
Now what am I going to do?
Does that mean if there's half as much business as there was a year ago?
Guess what that means? You either need to be twice as smart, twice as efficient,
twice as effective, or work twice as hard
to do the same as what you would do a year ago.
But the problem is we don't want to hear that.
The unfortunate truth is that our realities
are a direct correlation to our habits.
Our businesses are not a correlation to the circumstance, but it's a correlation to our habits. Our businesses are not a correlation to the circumstance, but it's
correlation to the habits. Our health is a correlation to our habits. Our physicality
is a correlation to the habits. Our wisdom is the correlation to the habits, the habits of
feeding yourself knowledge. Thanks so much for listening to the No Broke Months podcast today. Until the next show,
I invite for you to be grateful, make good choices, help someone,
have the best day of your life, and go find a listing.
