That first assistant, I told her, you're doing everything.
And what I told her was my job is to lead generate.
So I've pretty much always had that habit of my job is to go find business.
And I do that during the daylight hours.
And when it's dark, I can work on building the business.
Right?
Like that's, I'm just giving you the recipe.
Why is that the recipe?
Because I wasn't going to do anything but go find business.

That first assistant, and this was 15 years ago, she made $85,000 a year. That's a tremendous
amount of money for an assistant, right? She's worth it because in my third year, it was her,
myself, and another partner. We closed 109 transactions. And the other partner wasn't
really like, it wasn't the right role for that person. So it was really me and the other partner wasn't really like it wasn't the right role for that person so it was really me and the assistant that closed 109 109 transactions in our third year
the question that comes to my mind is what what tasks did your initial assistant do for you that
helped you to be successful it was it was tough it was tough. That first assistant, I told her, you're doing
everything. And what I told her was my job is to lead generate. So I've pretty much always had that

Because I wasn't going to do anything but go find business but really jade i told her you're doing everything i'm going to go
find a business we got to build a website you're building it we gotta go find a postcard you're
mailing it we gotta put something in the mls you're doing it we gotta uh do a cma you're doing it now it's not quite true that it
was like 100 100 i did do some of this stuff over here that she was doing um but the reality of it
was that um that was the that was like the intentional focus that i had and um if i did
do building websites and all that type of stuff, I would
do it like late at night or early in the morning. $85,000 in 2008. Is this an American VA or
Filipino? American assistant. American assistant. Yeah. She sat right next to me in office. Well,
again, Dorothy, I made more than a million bucks before I was in, you know, like it was a good
investment. Yeah, I see that.
I know that.
Right.
But here's the thing.
What I learned is I could have found the right virtual assistant at her level and paid a fraction of that and gotten as good or better of a partner.
