Starting point is 00:00:06 What's up? What's up, everybody. Welcome to a brand new episode of Part of the Problem. I am Dave Smith, and I'm Roland Solo for today's episode before we get into it. Quick reminder, I will be out this weekend in Louville, Kentucky. Very much looking forward to getting back out there. We had a great time there last year. So Louville, Kentucky, September 11th and 12th, this Friday and Saturday, I will be out there. And then the following Friday and Saturday, I will be in Fort Worth. and then Dallas, Texas, respectively at the hyenas comedy clubs out there. So really looking forward to the next couple of weeks. Hope to see a bunch of you guys out there.

Come see us next two weekends. It's going to be some fun shows.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I got a bunch of new material that I'm excited to bring out to Louville and Dallas and Fort Worth. I always thought Dallas-Fort Worth were all the same thing until I started going there. They're different cities, but they're next to each other. They're both wonderful. All right. So for today's show, I wanted to talk a bunch about this incredible bombshell report that came out yesterday in Hara. the Israeli newspaper, the Israeli lefty kind of anti-establishment newspaper there in Israel. And it's really something.
Starting point is 00:01:49 So there's this bombshell report. It's kind of unbelievable how it fits into the broader context of the last three years and what's coming up next. And then, of course, the updates today are kind of nuts too. because so Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he's suing herettes and there's there's like this whole backlash and he's claiming they made it all up but who man does it look really bad as as many things have over the last few years it looks very bad for old BB Netanyahu and this report is very damning so it's important i guess to even before we get into this um to kind of keep in mind that part of the reason why this is such a big deal is because
Starting point is 00:02:35 well, next month are, next month is something kind of very important symbolically, but then it's also kind of something very important politically in Israel. Next month will be the three-year anniversary of October 7th, and the three-year anniversary essentially of the response to it. And also, there will be the first Israeli elections since, since October 7th. So essentially, according to Israeli law from what I understand, Netanyahu has essentially postponed these elections as far as you can.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So the whole idea that he had to keep this war going or he had to suppress an investigation into October 7th or he had to lead into another war as soon as Gaza was done and all of that, well, the timeline's kind of up at this point and he's got to stand up for re-election. And then, of course, which I suppose we could get into a bit on the show today, because I think it's kind of important to put all these things together. But, you know, the three-year anniversary of October 7th is a big deal for a lot of different reasons. And I think that it's a big deal for Americans, for our own particular reasons, that are like, say, not the same as the whatever,
Starting point is 00:04:07 how that day would be remembered, like if you're an Israeli or if you're a Palestinian or something like that. You know, obviously, from the Israeli perspective, you can understand where this is this horrible terrorist attack that happened on their soil and that a lot of innocent people are killed. That's always, if that happens to any group of people,
Starting point is 00:04:24 that is going to, number one, that's going to traumatize your people, that's going to leave a mark, and there's going to be a collective response to the way they tell themselves that story and the story of their own victimization, like any group of people would be like this. Just go ask the Palestinians. They're very similar with their own stories about these things. But from the American perspective, it seems to me that there's a little bit of something different here.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Like it's kind of hard three years later looking back at this to not acknowledge from, say, the radical perspective of somebody who might put this country first, that one of the things that also happened, not as a result of October 7th, but as a result of the response, the Israeli response to October 7th, is that the political system here has been completely upended. And the political spectrum has been redrawn, an entire, you know, like entire camps, both throughout the Democratic and Republican establishment have been like split along the lines of Israel. And then this has been the most politically charged kind of dynamic topic
Starting point is 00:05:41 over the last three years in America. And that alone, and then of course, obviously the huge implications, like with huge policy implications like funding and supporting a genocide or launching a war of choice with another nation on their behalf. you know. So like there's with major policy issues, but also it has just, I don't know, it's just dominated the conversation and it's radicalized people in many different directions, including I'm not just saying those radically opposed to Israel, including those, like supporting Israel was a much different proposition in October 5th of 2023 than it was one year later,
Starting point is 00:06:24 and they were in the middle of conducting a genocide, right? So, like, even just somebody who stayed in the position of supporting Israel was kind of radicalized by the events. So, like, they were more radicalized, then the anti-Israel people were more radicalized as well. And so anyway, this is just a huge, huge event. And I think it's, you know, when you have anniversaries, if there's any reason why human beings do have anniversaries,
Starting point is 00:06:47 if there's any reason why we, like, celebrate a yearly event or even measure, you know, how many, days it takes for the earth to, you know, lap around the sun and, you know, like, why we, we kind of need that cyclical nature to the way we think is because you need the opportunity to go, oh, okay, well, this is, let's reflect on all of this now. And as an American, I kind of think we do have a right to reflect over what's gone on over the last three years, because it's certainly, I don't think anyone could argue it's been good for us, like whether you're on the pro-Israel or pro-Palestine side.
Starting point is 00:07:24 It's kind of just not good for our country that we're sitting here fighting over nonsense that doesn't even apply to us. I say nonsense. Like it's important shit, but like, you know, we got lots of our own problems. And that's part of the reason why this reporting is so devastating is because it does speak to this broader kind of story of what exactly happened here. So essentially, and I highly encourage everybody to go read it. I mean, I think I have to subscribe to Heretz, but there's probably free versions out there you could find.
Starting point is 00:08:05 But they're essentially the reporting. Now, it's already been reported in other places, perhaps as well as in Heretz, that Egyptian intelligence had passed on the idea to the Israelis. that there was some type of attack being planned in Gaza. And that was something, there were some people who made something of that. This to me seems to be much more damning. The story here that they're reporting is that the president of the United Arab Emirates was, sounds from the story like pretty fanatically.
Starting point is 00:08:51 warning over and over again very specifically about essentially October 7th. I mean, the details of it are like, no, there's like a major attack coming that is designed to blow up the Abraham courts and completely destabilize the region. Like this is not like something that has not been seen before, I believe, was even described in the piece. And the piece essentially says that the, again, the president of the United Arab Emirates, This is not like a small player in the region, you know, the ruler of Abu Dhabi. This is that he is warning over and over again for months, the Israeli government.
Starting point is 00:09:33 And then gets like a week and a half before October 7th, evidently gets like a 45-minute phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu, where he goes through this whole thing about what his concern is. And the claim essentially is that Benjamin Netanyahu doesn't take this seriously. he's like, yeah, don't worry about it. We got it. They're not really going to do anything to us. They're planning some activity in the West Bank, but it won't be in Israel proper and we're prepared.
Starting point is 00:09:58 And then he didn't warn any of his security staff and didn't like up the levels at all or take any of the most basic precautions. Now, Netanyahu, as I said, is already threatening to sue them. According to Heretz, he has sent them a letter. But the thing here is that right, this is all at this point campaign optics. none of that's ever going to get settled before the campaign, before the election, which is next month.
Starting point is 00:10:21 And that's what's so devastating about this to Benjamin Netanyahu. But, well, I got to say whether or not, whatever details that you want to like, whatever details that Netanyahu might be claiming are made up or wrong or something like that, it's not even if there's something about what happened in that 45-minute conversation that's being exaggerated, the fact that you have the president of one of the most powerful countries in the region warning about this and Benjamin Netanyahu still not, still being so unprepared.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Again, keep in mind that, you know, you got to go back and think, look, this is why the late Charlie Kirk had even questioned whether there was a stand-down. order because some of the times just given how small Israel is and how militarized Israel is and how surveilled Gaza is, it was genuinely hard for people to believe that it took hours, many, many hours for there to be response time in certain parts of the attack. And now there might be other reasons for that, but oh man, is that devastating when you find out that the prime minister whose whole thing he's been running on is well, and we'll get into that. But when you find out there that he had this, he really did have this information.
Starting point is 00:11:50 It's, look, the spectrum of questions that you got to start asking yourself gets, it gets really bad at both ends, but it gets really ugly at the other. And I'm not making any claims of that, you know, it's always, I've always kind of maintained that even, even throughout this article as you read it, it still reads as like, you could Occam's razor this as simply. Yeah, Netanyahu's just got all the hubris in the world. Everything I've ever read from this guy, every interview I've ever seen, everything backs that up. Like, yeah, he totally believes that. And I remember this was very consistent with the way George W. Bush and a lot of the neo-conservatives were. True hubris. Like, they really believed they could do this. It would work.
Starting point is 00:12:34 And all that, you know, when you hear Netanyahu's, you know, his phrase of, we can, we control the height of the flame. He is this referring to Hamas and his support for them. Maybe you believe that. He believed he could control the height of the flame. He believed it would be there. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Sheath Underwear, the Underwear of Legends, long-time sponsor, one of our longest, most hardcore sponsors, great company, run by great people,

Let's get back into the show.
Starting point is 00:13:32 That being said, you know, it's just a little bit. I don't like jumping to conspiracies. I like to be like or I don't I don't like jumping to theories or conclusions, I should say, unless they're sound. But, you know, like once you find out, say, for example, that not only is Fauci not the guy working to solve the virus, but you found out that he funded the thing. You know, he funded the lab where the virus was made. And then they lied about it and covered it up. look that you cannot conclude from that that therefore it's a bio weapon or something or therefore they intentionally released the thing because it's like oh no maybe you just funded it and they tried to do something and then it accidentally got out and then they covered it up because it looked
Starting point is 00:14:19 really bad for them okay but like you also can't completely rule that out because like you're just saying like now we're operating essentially on a spectrum of this was an accident you lied through your you were doing something reckless and crazy that should have been illegal kind of was quasi illegal. Then you lied through your fucking teeth about it and covered the whole thing up and this ended up happening. It's that too you did this intentionally. And we don't actually know which one it is. But I'll tell you what looks really bad is everything that surrounds it. Everything that surrounds it looks really bad and for a few different reasons. Look, a lot has been made recently of the Greater Israel Project.
Starting point is 00:15:04 This is something that, you know, Benjamin Netanyahu himself has said is near and dear to his heart. And of course, we've covered on this show as people like Mike Huckabee have said that he believes in this kind of, you know, biblical version of the Greater Israel Project. This idea, which, by the way, it should be known that is in the history of Christendom, this is a very new Christian idea. You're not going to hear Thomas Aquaintiffs, you know, You're not going to read Thomas Aquinas speeches about how the Jewish people really need to control all of the, you know, political area in southern Lebanon or something like that. But his view is that God promised, you know, the modern state of Israel, this entire area. And look, I'll say this. From all the stuff I've read over the years of both the, from the Israeli government and the Israeli lobby in America, it's not exactly,
Starting point is 00:16:04 that it's all geared toward the Greater Israel Project necessarily, but so much of it has been geared toward like the thwarting of a Palestinian state and the kind of expansionist nature of Israel, that the Greater Israel Project seems to almost just be an expansion of that. Like it's like, oh, I guess they just want to keep doing this. I guess that's the whole reason why they want to deny a Palestinian state is because ultimately they want that land, which has always kind of been the deal. Everybody's always known that. That's the conflict over there, right?
Starting point is 00:16:33 The conflict is over the land. Okay. Anyway, so if you keep in mind how openly, openly, Benjamin Netanyahu has been talking about trying to thwart a Palestinian state for his entire career. This is the longest serving prime minister
Starting point is 00:16:51 in Israeli history. He won his first, try to keep in mind, he won his first election. He's up for election tomorrow, or excuse me, next month, excuse me. He's up for election next month. It's October
Starting point is 00:17:04 2006. He won his first Israeli election to be prime minister in 1996. Bill Clinton was in the middle of his presidency when he was like, you know, just think about that.
Starting point is 00:17:26 I mean, it's like this guy has been wielding political power for a very long time in Israel. And I'd highly encourage Anybody could just go read. I mean, if you think that I'm jumping at conclusions here, I highly recommend people, as I've mentioned many times over the years, but like if you go read his book, Fighting Terrorism that he wrote in 95, 96,
Starting point is 00:17:45 I want to say this is Benjamin Netanyahu's book. You read the clean break memo, a clean break, a new strategy for securing the realm by Richard Pearl and David Wormser and Douglas Fife. And of course there's the, companion piece, which was also written by David Wormsar. I'm not sure. Was that Richard Pearl too?
Starting point is 00:18:08 Maybe it was just David Wormsor wrote a coping with crumbling states. And like read the PNAC documents and stuff like that. Like these guys were, let's just say, for many years, they were very openly saying that the goal was to topple other governments in the Middle East and starting with Saddam Hussein, right? So like in 96, in the clean break memo and in fighting terrorism, they are both arguing, we have to overthrow Saddam Hussein. And the reason they have to overthrow Saddam Hussein, well, is because we got to get out
Starting point is 00:18:42 of this Oslo agreement. We got to get out of this agreement to give the Palestinians their own state. And so for whatever geopolitical reasons they had, it gets a little bit complicated. But like they felt like he was giving back up to like the Arab nationalists. And then they felt like if he fell that the Hashemites could gain favor in Iraq and then they could influence Hezbollah to stop giving Israel problems so that they would have an easier time, you know, like annexing Palestine. It was a crazy plan. But the point is that they kind of always, they very openly always had these plans to make sure that the Palestinians couldn't get their
Starting point is 00:19:17 own state. And that's where, I'm sorry to say it, but it is obviously a fact. That is where so much of this conflict comes from. You know, one of the best little anecdotes, So I'm sure you've heard me say this before, but I just, as this new report comes out, I think it's kind of important to put all these things together to understand some of the shit I've been talking about the last few years and how this kind of plays on it. But so I like mentioning this. This was John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt wrote about this in their great book, the Israel lobby. So after 9-11, Colin Powell went to George W. Bush.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Now, keep in mind, we're talking about Colin Powell here. Okay? This is not, you know, an anti-war. war ideologue or anything like that. It's Colin Powell, the general. All right. And he tells George W. Bush, like, look, you got to do a two-state solution now. Right after 9-11. And why would he be telling him to do a two-state solution right after 9-11?
Starting point is 00:20:16 Well, because Colin Powell knew that that's what this whole beef is about. That's what the whole thing is about. The whole thing is about is that like there's this Israel, this Israel-Palestine conflict. And they're real pissed off that we back up the people occupy in these areas. It's been this dispute for years. We got to settle this thing once and for all. Anyway, George W. Bush was open to do it. It was Tom DeLay, who talked him out of it and said the lobby will destroy you if you try.
Starting point is 00:20:46 And he didn't try. He didn't want to be a one-term president. Anyway, so it's just important to keep in mind. That's at the core of a lot of this. Okay. And so keep in mind now, back to the idea. that we're coming up to the three-year anniversary of October 7th. Well, like, things really did explode after this politically here in America and literally in Gaza.
Starting point is 00:21:13 But one of the things that was kind of demanded immediately by the Zionists was that we pay attention to this and how horrible what happened there was. And this was a big, a major misstep on their part. They should not have encouraged people to pay attention to this because that's exactly what started happening. and it didn't go well for them. But the big thing that everybody was relying on saying was that what? Like Hamas did October 7th. It's hard to overstatement how much that dominated the conversation for it. It dominated every debate for at least the first year and a half.
Starting point is 00:21:49 It was at least a year and a half of doing debates about Israel, Palestine, after October 7th before like the first question wasn't going to be like, so do you support Hamas? Do you support October 7th? Can you denounce that in front of everybody? Or you are like, where do you stand on people being gunned down at music festivals or whatever? You know, it's like very strange in a way. But this became the entire Israeli justification.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And what happened that has like not only like quite literally, you know, it's killed like, I don't know, like probably over 100,000 people and it has destabilized the region. It has been absolutely destabilizing. to the political order in America, what happened in the wake of that was that Israel committed some of the most heinous crimes against these poor Palestinian people in the name of how terrible this organization Hamas was, right? So imagine if you're little old me and you happen to be in the position of knowing a thing or two about this right after October 7th happens and you get then you happen to be in the opportunity where you can go on a lot of the biggest platforms in the country
Starting point is 00:23:04 and tell people something that like almost nobody knew. It was really amazing at the time because I just happened to be paying attention of this shit. It's always been my, you know, my, my comparative advantage in this game a lot over the last few years, especially when it comes to the foreign policy stuff, is that I've just, I'm getting older and I got more gray hair in my beard, as you might have noticed. And, you know, I've been paying attention to this shit for a little while now. And so what happens is there's like, when you, you know, you pay attention to the little things that are happening in foreign policy, sometimes they end up blown up and becoming big things, and now they're in the news and everyone's paying attention to them,
Starting point is 00:23:38 and you got an advantage because you're like, oh, well, I've been paying attention to this for years. And so it was like that with Ukraine, and it was like that with Israel, Palestine, for sure. So anyway, the thing I kept mentioning to people was like, yo, Benjamin Netanyahu has been propping up Hamas for years. Because doesn't that just kind of blow up the narrative that you had right there? You know, the whole thing that they were saying right after October 7th was just like, because Hamas is such savages, and because Hamas is using these people as human shields, like, golly, gee, you're going to have to look the other way while we commit the worst imaginable atrocities. But like when you find out that actually they were funding Hamas for what reason to thwart the creation of a Palestinian state, that really changes the dynamic. that really, really changes the moral calculation, right? Like, it's just, it's one thing to say, right?
Starting point is 00:24:34 And this is almost what they, how they try to make it sound. The Israelis try to make it sound like, I don't know, let's see, like maybe you're my neighbor and we have an ugly history. But like, I gave you your, you have your house and I have my house. And then in your house, you decided that what we're going to do with our family is attack and kill my house. So what can I do? But I have to go and respond because these people, my neighbors are so horrible that I have to go and like, yeah, there's some innocent people who get killed in their house.
Starting point is 00:25:03 But, hey, it's either my house or your house or whatever. Like, however you feel about the logic of that, there's a whole lot of different avenues you could go down off of that. But let's just say that's not the story. And I'm presenting it that way. But the real story is more like, oh, yeah, I left my neighbor's house after militarily occupying it, you know, after occupying it at gunpoint for years. But then I went outside and I boarded up the entire thing and I still controlled the airspace and I still controlled the phone lines and I still controlled the money that came in and went out and I still controlled who left and came in and blah, blah, blah. And then you see, as I'm essentially a warden over a prison at this point, then I looked in there and I picked the most psychotic gang, you know, that I could find. And I made sure to pump money and weapons into them and kept them in power.
Starting point is 00:25:49 and then they made the decision to come over and attack my house, and then I use that as justification to slaughter innocent people over there. Well, like, come on, objectively speaking, that's just much different. That is much, much different. That is a whole different moral calculation than the one you first laid out. And in fact, it totally changes. Like, you know, again, I'm not saying that in the first scenario, you have a right to just slaughter people in another nation, you know, because you were attacked.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Like, there's still got to be limiting principles and rules of war. and things like that. But I'm just saying that entire line of thinking is destroyed if you find out that intentionally Benjamin Netanyahu was actually supporting these guys. And so here's what starts to get so damning about all of this. There's been a lot, a lot reported on Benjamin Netanyahu's support for, for Hamas. In fact, it got to the point where like,
Starting point is 00:26:53 I was out, if you remember, I was out there really arguing this point in a bunch of high profile debates and I was all, essentially, I think all my sources at the time were Israeli news. It was Israeli media. It was the, if I'm remembering this correctly, it was the Jerusalem Post
Starting point is 00:27:08 that first broke the story and then it was a heretz and the times of Israel. Both had like in-depth pieces on this. And then maybe like 972 or something like that. I can't remember where else it was. But then it was after that that the New York Times and the Washington Post and all of them picked it up.
Starting point is 00:27:26 It just kind of all like broke out. And now they tried to kind of frame this in a different way than what it really was. And now this is essentially what Netanyahu and his administration are trying to say now, is that they go like, oh, no, no, no, no, well, like, yeah, we did give a whole bunch of money to Hamas. but that was just like that was kind of like aid to Gaza and we were just trying to help Gaza. This is what the New York Times piece even said, even though if you read the piece, it's a lot more damning than the title would claim. But like I think it was called like buying quiet or something like that.
Starting point is 00:28:05 So they go like the idea is like, well, we didn't want there to be problems in the strip. And so we figured like if we just pump this money and it would like calm things down a little bit. And the major problem with that and that's another thing that seems to be blown up by this latest Heret's piece is that it's like Benjamin Netanyahu wasn't trying to calm down the situation. He was never trying to calm down the situation. And then it kind of just doesn't pass the basic smell test that you'd go like, wait a minute. So like you were trying to have an aid program to Gaza. That sounds like the type of thing that a politician would do through a political mechanism
Starting point is 00:28:39 and probably brag about it, which they do all the time and brag about the things that they've done, the greenhouses they've left and all these things. Like, why would an aid program be something where you're sending, and this is how it was reported, that you're sending the Mossad chief to go beg for the funds to keep funding in? Often, again, read the New York Times piece, read the Heretz piece, read the Times of Israel piece. They take you through like the logistics of it. Like, it was like suitcases of money to the tunes of hundreds of millions of dollars. It was like over a billion dollars was one tally, suitcases of money going to Hamas operatives. Why would that be the way of, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:29:19 What's going on here? Oh, and then you hear all of the times they admitted it out loud over the years. And it even goes back to, it was the same, like, what's his name? Not Smotrich, but the other one, the, I'm blanking on his name. But it was the same thing that they had talked about, even back with the whole disengagement plan under Sharon, where they essentially all went. Look, this is what Netanyahu himself said. He goes, he said, no, it's about thwarting a Palestinian state.
Starting point is 00:29:51 So it wasn't about like keeping him caught. At the time, he said it. He goes, no, it's about thwarting a Palestinian state. You keep Hamas in power. And then look, what are we going to do now? See, this divides Gaza from the West Bank. Now, why did he want to divide Gaza from the West Bank? Why would you want to keep terrorists in power right next door to you?
Starting point is 00:30:10 Well, again, after this investigation, we're back on our spectrum here, okay? But, and this has always been the theory, probably still the theory I go under. But, well, the reason you want to keep the terrorists in power, essentially, is because then you go, well, look, what do you expect me to make a deal with terrorists? This is your way to never, this is the way, okay, you essentially, then this is how they said it, right? You freeze the peace process. You put it in formaldehyde, which was the famous quote, right? You freeze the peace process with Hamas and Gaza. and then you can slowly expand the settlements in the West Bank.
Starting point is 00:30:47 And that really seems to be the plan. And again, if we're looking back at like the last three years, Israel, this is what we've gotten out of this, right? Is that immediately after October 7th, as a result of that, Israel has destroyed Gaza and they are militarily occupying, I believe the latest figure was close to 60% of Gaza, and they had just announced that they were going to take more. We've seen over the last three years since October 7th, massive settlement expansion in the West Bank, taking over huge swaths of territory there.
Starting point is 00:31:28 They took over huge swaths of territory after Bashar al-Assad fell, Netanyahu took credit for starting the process. And he's not entirely wrong. He was certainly involved. So they took huge swaths of Syria. Of course, people know that they just took big portions of Lebanon after the Iran war. And so, look, I'm just saying that does not prove anything on its, well, I shouldn't say that. It does prove something on its own.
Starting point is 00:32:00 It does not prove like where on the spectrum we are with what happened on October 7th. but it is really hard for that to not look very bad and for people to not start looking at this and going, wait a minute. So you guys actually have grabbed territory at every single turn of this. You know, it's like if you were, if you had started out, if someone had asked, you know, asked me about what is, what is the greater Israel project, you know, three and a half years ago? Someone had asked me about it. And I'd probably been like, well, it's this idea that Israel. But, well, okay, look, there are, there are like religious fanatics like Mike Huckabee who believe it for this reason.
Starting point is 00:32:41 But then there's people like Benjamin Netanyahu. I don't really think Benjamin Netanyahu believes that God gave him all of this land. I think he wants to expand his power and he's quite happy to make political coalitions with people who actually do believe that. You know, God is saying this to them or whatever. But, you know, I would say, okay, the idea is that they can take over all of this land and expand. How much they really want this? Are they moving toward it? Well, they certainly want the Palestinian territory.
Starting point is 00:33:04 I don't know. Just saying if you had laughed that off as some type of conspiracy three and a half years ago, well, hey, it's looking a lot more like real life right now. They're really living a bunch of this out. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Body Brain Coffee. Starting point is 00:34:44 One more time, bodybrain coffee.com, promo code Dave 20 for 20% off. All right, let's get back into the show. Now, all right, here's what I would say is particularly damning, just kind of like putting, trying to lay all this context out there because I know a lot of this stuff are things that I've said over the last few years. But I just want to like, it's important to kind of lay it out to like fit where this new reporting fits into that. And this is why I find this to be particularly so damning.
Starting point is 00:35:16 When you find out again, if you remember back in, well, back in my day, back when I was young, this was a big scandal in the United States. And I don't remember, I think if I want to guess, I want to say it was like 2002. maybe 2003 that this came out, but it came out that there had been a memo that was given to George W. Bush that had like warned, like bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S.
Starting point is 00:35:51 And people made a big deal out of this. They went, see, there it is, smoking gun. He knew, you know, he knew this was coming. And, you know, some people probably got out over their skis and said, you know, that's proof that he allowed it to happen or that he was in on it. And then other people would say, well, this proves that he, you know, was just derelict in his duty or whatever. And but people would counterback and they would say, look, man, the president is probably getting, you know, just like thousands and thousands of memos and getting all types of warnings about things that never actually end up coming true.
Starting point is 00:36:25 So it's kind of easy to look back and pick this one out, you know. And in a sense, there is something to that point, although actually, you know, George W. Bush was like really, really downplayed the, uh, the Ben Laden al-Qaeda threat. And that's a whole other topic. But the point being that there is something to that argument, right? Like how are you? You're not going to know every single threat. You know, it's like, like I knew a bunch of kids.
Starting point is 00:36:55 I shouldn't say a bunch of kids. I knew a few kids when I was young who like if they had been a school shooter, it would have made total sense. Like all the signs were there. But they never shot up a school. You know what I'm saying? It's like, it's real easy after the kid shoots up a school to go, well, look, all the signs were there. The thing is the signs are there all the time.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Usually the kid doesn't end up doing that. So it's like there is something to that. But look, 9-11 and October 7th were just different in a very fundamental way. Because 9-11 to some degree, even though the World Trade Center had been attacked by terrorists less than a decade earlier. And even though, you know, like hijacked planes were not like. like the crazy, the idea of like terrorists from the Middle East, like the idea of like some Egyptians and Saudis going and training in Europe and then sneaking into the country and taking flight schools and hijacking planes and turning them into missiles and flying them into
Starting point is 00:37:53 the Twin Towers was not like the obvious thing that you should have your eye on. Like that is a thing that they pulled off. Oh shit, they hijacked multiple planes and sent one at the Pentagon and multiple at the Twin Towers. It's like, okay, at least I'm just saying on paper. I'm not even getting into it for any truthers or whatever who are like, that's not how it happened. I'm just saying like that story on paper is like, okay, you pulled off a crazy attack. People breaking in from Gaza with guns to shoot at you is like that's more like a goalie keeping
Starting point is 00:38:27 his eye on the ball. Like if you're Israel, if you live in those communities that were like attacked on October 7th in those, you know, like where they were doing the music festival and in some of those kibbutzs and those areas in the south there in Israel, they're right there. They're right next to the concentration camp that has been Gaza this whole time. It's not like you wouldn't be, it's almost, I mean, I'm not, I don't know, it's like, it's like a prison guard walking through a prison like, oh, the threat is the prisoners. Yeah, obviously, the prisoners.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Those are the threats like that. It's just, it's such an obvious thing, right? So you got to keep that in mind. This wasn't like some. I mean, yes, they came by land and sea and air, but like, they broke out of Gaza and they came in to kill a bunch of people. It wasn't this, like, crazy thing you could have. It's literally, according to Benjamin Netanyahu, it's essentially the axiomatic foundation of why
Starting point is 00:39:23 Israel exists is to focus on that. You know, like, this is why the state exists. And so now we have that you're getting this really frantic warning for quite a while. from one of the heads of state in the area. And, okay, so this is what I find to be really damning. And I want to see if people look into the timing of this because this is an angle that I'm not sure wasn't exactly directly addressed in the piece,
Starting point is 00:39:55 but the timing to me seems like it's definitely going to overlap here. Okay, if you read the Heretz piece and the New York Times piece about the Benjamin Netanyahu's support for Hamas. There's the story about when the Benjamin Netanyahu sends the head of Mossad to quote, the quote is to beg, the funds were drying up. They went to beg to keep the funds coming into Hamas. This was like a couple weeks before October 7th. This is after he's getting these warnings.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Just something to keep in mind there. Now, again, I don't know on this spectrum where that moves you or where that moves me or where that moves anyone. But I'm just saying like, there is something, man, that is a really extra little bit of damn information here. This is not just like Ben Laden crazy Muslim guy halfway around the world set to attack. This is like the head of the UAE going, dude, this is going to blow, like essentially what it sounds like from the pieces. He sees everything that is about to happen. That did happen. And he's going, oh, dude, this is going to blow up the Middle East. Imagine you're the ruler of Abu Dhabi. You're like, dude, we're killing it right now. We just got it to a point where business is abomin. Like,
Starting point is 00:41:22 everything is great. Dude, the last thing we want to do is blow up the region. And so he's just essentially going like, hey, dude, like do something to calm this down, man, be ready. Don't let this be this crazy attack. Don't let it lead to this whole like catastrophe that's going to destabilize the region. And Netanyahu is, in this period, from all that's being reported, not only not taking the threat seriously, but continuing, continuing to insist on supporting Hamas. And that does kind of bring you back down to the question that Charlie Kirk was asking. It makes you wonder.
Starting point is 00:41:54 And on top of this, there is a point that is really worth noting here. You know, Pierce Morgan, he hits, the point about how Israel will not allow any journalists into Gaza so much. I mean, I think he hits it every single time. I think for the last year, every time a pro-Israeli person's on his show, he grills them on that. And not yet has one of them had a good answer because there just isn't one. You know, I mean, it's really, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:29 It's like, on the level of like, you just won't show, like, it's like a cheating husband just won't show his wife or his phone. And they're like, why not? Because you can't. You know, it just doesn't have a reason. Why not? Because there's, we shouldn't have to. Like, it's like, oh, clearly because there's something you don't want her to say.
Starting point is 00:42:49 So anyway, he has this question over and over and over again. And there's a reason he does. And there's a reason why it really, it's unbelievable how this one question can kind of like destroy all the Hasbara spokespeople. But I guess it's just because it's obvious. Why else wouldn't you let people in? because you're hiding something. That's all.
Starting point is 00:43:08 And in a similar sense, I gotta say, dude, it's like, look, a lot of these questions, like right there, what I just laid out, how bad that looks, well,
Starting point is 00:43:15 this is what you'd have an investigation for. Oh, what is the one thing that has been holding up an investigation into October 7th? You know,
Starting point is 00:43:27 this is an interesting time, man. Israel, you know, I rarely comment on kind of like the domestic politics of other countries. when I say that, when I say the domestic politics, I mean like that, the domestic politics. Like, I might talk about what another country is doing, typically only really if it involves
Starting point is 00:43:50 America to some degree. But I talk about what a country is doing to another country, but like if there's an election in even in Canada or whatever, if there's an election in England, it's just not really like my concern. But there's something different, I think, about the elections coming up in Israel right now. And, you know, I don't know, you know, it doesn't really seem to me from what I can understand. I don't really presume to know the essence of Israeli culture. But it doesn't seem to me that the Israelis even really grapple much with how much their little country has, like, changed global opinion over the last few years and how dangerous that is for them, that they're so hated by the entire.
Starting point is 00:44:37 fire world. In other words, just to be clear here, I know Nafali Bennett, who's running against Netanyahu is just absolutely horrible. And he's horrible on all the issues that Netanyahu's horrible on that we would hate. Like he's, he absolutely supported the destruction and genocide of Gaza. He absolutely supports the war in Iran. If anything, I think he's critical of Netanyahu for like not going hard enough or something like that. So it's a mess either way, no matter who wins over there. But there's also at least, I got to say, some feeling that, like, Benjamin Netanyahu has got to lose this. Like, even if it is Naftali Bennett, who takes over after him, and we'll still have all the same problems that we have, minus the fact that, you know, Netanyahu's probably
Starting point is 00:45:23 just a little bit better at getting stuff done than anybody else. So for that reason alone, it'd be a little bit better. But also just because, like, you know, sometimes that guy's just got to lose. like the, you know, the message has to at least be sent that you can't get away with this forever. But I don't know what's going to happen. I'd imagine there's a good chance that Netanyahu's going down.
Starting point is 00:45:51 And how the hell are they going to keep this dude out of prison once he's out of there? I mean, isn't that that really is, in terms of just the optics, whatever he may go down for, because I don't know if you've watched the BB files or any of this stuff, but man, there is all types.
Starting point is 00:46:06 of just wild corruption um uh in there like all like really crazy like his his wife's demand in jewelry and shit like that like they're very very corrupt um this is why he wanted to change the supreme court stuff to begin with was over avoiding corruption then there's all types of stuff about the way he's conducted this war he's in real trouble all right guys let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show which is cowboy colostrum summer is here and if you want to actually feel confident, less bloated, and more energized, you got to start with your gut, and nothing's better for that than cowboy colostrum. Starting point is 00:48:02 Here, we can play this. this was this was fun for me particularly uh you know it's so rare that we even play clips from the corporate media anymore but this one caught my my eye because it was going viral and i know i've saw it was scarborough was uh he was bashing me for for making some of these points i believe just a few years ago but here was donnie donnie deutch um who is quite a character um he got very upset that joe scarborough was, you know, talking about this, this bombshell report on Netanyahu. Here, let's play. As are terrorists. Okay. Let's not lose that. Okay. I'm not here to defend me and Yanjahou. Okay, hold on. We'll take two additional notice of what I've said a billion times.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Hamas are terrorists. Now, can we talk about Netanyahu or do you just not want to talk about that? I want to say, I'm not here to defend Bibi Netanyahu. I don't know what went down. We don't know. Does that not concern you? What I do know. If it happened in America, it would concern me. We asked questions about 9-11. Have other-
Starting point is 00:49:10 Are you willing to ask questions about Netanyahu? I'm willing to answer questions. I'm willing to ask the questions. Is the strategy of giving them money a smart thing to keep them quiet, whatever his logic was? No. All I'm just saying is that. All right.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Just pause it right there. In the discussions. So this is like, again, this is what they always try to do. you know, I know this Doinie, this Donnie Deutsch, whatever his name is, he's like some money guy or something like that. You know, I had a story with him. I met him once. You know, one time, I never did a show for MSNBC ever. I did like all the other cable news networks. So I never did MSNBC.
Starting point is 00:49:44 But one time, this must have been like right after I was working for SE Cup because I was out of contract with CNN because otherwise I couldn't have done it. Because for that period of time, when I worked for SECCup, I couldn't do Fox News shows or NBC shows. I couldn't do any other cable news. But so it was right when I got out of that and they called me in. They were launching a new show that was his show. And they called me to do the show, but it was like a test run. Like so it wasn't a show that aired. We just came in and like did a show.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Corporations are so goddamn stupid. Just an absolute waste of everybody's time. I mean, this is like, you know, this is 10 years ago. But like I had done enough podcasts already. It was like you could just go watch my stuff. I don't know. You need to see how, anyway, whatever. But so we go in there and did the, and so we just did like, we basically had a conversation.
Starting point is 00:50:35 We had a panel for an hour that never got released or anything. They never made the show. None of it ever happened. They said they loved me at the time. They were like, oh, everyone at the exact booth was talking about you. But I just destroyed him for an hour. He's an idiot. He just doesn't know anything.
Starting point is 00:50:49 We were arguing about a whole bunch of shit at the time. You wouldn't even believe the stuff he was arguing. I think it was he was arguing that if Donald Trump doesn't get reelected in 2020, he'll be immediately charged and he'll go to jail for all the crimes that he's committed or blow. This is just stuff he was completely wrong about. Anyway, back to this. These guys never know what they're talking about.
Starting point is 00:51:10 So back to this. It's interesting. They always go, he'll go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, the strategy, the strategy of supporting Hamas was wrong. But let's just keep in mind that Hamas are the bad guys. That's essentially what this whole fight starts over. Joe Scarborough starts mentioning, oh, God damn, Benjamin Netanyahu was explicitly warned about October 7th and like didn't do anything about it. Wow, that looks bad. And he starts going,
Starting point is 00:51:34 remember how bad Hamas was in October 7th and blah, blah, blah. And it's like, yeah, dude, but that's the point. If they're so bad, it's so bad to have been supporting them. And then, but he makes this point. It's like, oh, look, I don't know. And he says the thing, the New York Times. I don't know, buying quiet, whatever his strategy was there. Again, man, these guys were very explicit in their own words. I don't see if I have even. I feel like there was. I have some of these quotes up here. Sometimes I have them. You know what?
Starting point is 00:52:02 Go back in play of the clip. That's a... Let's see if I can pull one up. About BB. I don't want it to get lost on where the evil starts here. Okay? I'm not defending BB.
Starting point is 00:52:13 You know, I don't know. We don't know what went down there. And hopefully history will teach us. But again, Donnie, you're making a fact up that doesn't exist. Nobody here has forgotten that Hamas. Okay. Is it even... I have been saying for years.
Starting point is 00:52:28 that Hamas is a terrorist organization. I have been saying for years, there is no peace, there is no two-state solution with Hamas. I have been talking about it since I was 31 years old in Congress, as somebody that's money from A-PAC, as somebody who has fought,
Starting point is 00:52:47 and you know better than anybody else, spoken out against anti-Semitism. Amen. My entire life, defending students like Barry Weiss on Scarborough country in 2003, which he was at Columbia. I've been at this radio for very long time. So can we now please talk about Benjamin Netanyahu?
Starting point is 00:53:10 I don't have any answers to Benjamin Netanyahu. What I feel, what I'm reacting to so emotionally is that I don't want whatever baby I do does or doesn't do to lose the fact of where the evil sits in this argument. Right. So let me ask Jonathan Lemire. Okay, so. You just pause it for a second. And Donnie, for some reason.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Just think about the emotion, the emotional reaction there. And what that says, I don't want whatever Netanyahu does to lose sight of the fact that Hamas is the bad guys and Israel's the good guys. I mean, that right there, just like, that just describes how every Israel supporter interacts with this issue. It's like, guys, guys, it's almost like he's saying it out. loud. He goes, look, I understand I can't refute anything you're actually saying. I understand I can't grep. I understand my reaction to this, you telling me this clearly irrefutable, like, evidence of corruption and just horrible, like profound failure of the most important, you know, role of a leader. I understand my reaction is just emotional to that. But you got to understand here,
Starting point is 00:54:20 guys, I just want to keep in mind the conclusion. You know, just keep in mind that the conclusion of is who's the good guys and who's the bad guys. Because if you get lost in all these facts here, it may just not look that way. It may not look so good. Before we come back to this, I pulled up here because I have another great article to read was Scott Horton's piece on this,
Starting point is 00:54:39 which is Benjamin Netanyahu's support for Hamas backfires. But I just want to pull up like some of the quotes here because it is when they go like, oh, they were supporting Hamas to like buy quiet or whatever the strategy here is. This is the real problem they have. Okay. From 2012 to 2018, Doha provided more than one billion to Hamas, hundreds of millions per year with Tel Aviv's green light.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Okay, here is Distel at Barian, who is the former Minister of Information and Lakudnik member of the Knesset. So here's a member of the Lakud party. And he said, mark my words. Netanyahu keeps Hamas on its feet so that the entire state of Israel won't become the Gaza envelope. If Hamas collapses, a boss is liable to control Gaza. If he will control it, voices from the left will arise advocating negotiations in a diplomatic settlement and a Palestinian state, including in Judea and Samaria. That's what they call the West Bank. Okay. So like, here's another, just member of the Lakud Party is openly saying, look, dude,
Starting point is 00:55:47 this is not what he's saying. He's not saying, hey, we'll buy quiet. Well, I guess in a sense he's saying, we'll buy quiet, but quiet from what? Peaceful. activists. Not quiet from violence. He's saying if Hamas falls and a boss takes over, then it'll be moderate saying, hey, let's make a deal and have a Palestinian state. And they're going to want one in the West Bank too. That means we can't keep annexing that land. So this is what keeping Hamas in power was for. Okay. Let me keep reading here. there's another member of the Lakud party. If Hamas crumbles, a boss may rule Gaza.
Starting point is 00:56:28 If he rules it, voices on the left will encourage a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria. This is the real reason Netanyahu doesn't annihilate Hamas. Everything else is bullshit. Hold on one second. Here's Prime Minister Barack on Netanyahu. Obviously, Ehud-Barak, not a Lakud party member. But this is the Labor Party. critique of his policy.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Okay, so just to be clear, this is like the Obama critiquing the Trump over there. Okay? Sorry, one second, here we go. Netanyahu's strategy is to keep Hamas alive and kicking, even at the price of abandoning the citizens of the South in order to weaken the PA in Ramallah. Barack confirms that Netanyahu's goal was keeping the South, quote, on a constant low flame. The purpose was to support Hamas to weaken the Palestinian. authority and to avoid any sincere negotiations toward a future Palestinian state.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Quote, it's easier with Hamas to explain to Israelis that there is no one to sit and no one to talk to. If the PA strengthens, then there will be someone to talk to. You get what he's saying? He's saying, if not for Hamas, then there's someone to talk to. When Hamas is there, he can say there's no one to talk to. So that's the whole strategy of having Hamas there. It's keeping the crazy guy there so that you can say, look, they're all crazy.
Starting point is 00:57:55 I'm sorry, once you know they're doing that, it really changes the thing to say they're all crazy. Donnie Deutsch wants to say, the Palestinians are the bad guys because of Hamas. Well, it really changes that equation when the longest serving prime minister in Israeli history is supporting Hamas because they're Hamas. Because in his estimation, the Palestinians are actually much more reasonable than that. You see, totally destroys the whole case. And here is, of course, the quote by Benjamin Netanyahu himself, which was confirmed by two, or I'm sorry, I believe three eyewitnesses. And then there was a video of saying a very similar quote using the exact same phraseology. And this is him.
Starting point is 00:58:35 This is how Benjamin Netanyahu talks. Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas. This is part of our strategy. To isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank. It's impossible to reach an agreement with them. Everyone knows this, but we control the height of the flame. In his own words, that's the goal. Everyone knows you can't reach an agreement with Hamas,
Starting point is 00:59:03 but that's the goal. We don't want to reach an agreement, so you keep Hamas in power. We don't have to make an agreement. But don't worry, we can control the height of the flame. Well, on October 7th, he couldn't. Or maybe he could. I think he couldn't. Anyway, let's keep playing a little bit more of this clip, and then we'll wrap up.
Starting point is 00:59:23 is pretending that we don't know. We all know that Hamas is evil. We all know that Hamas's founding document said that they would find Jews behind trees and bushes and kill them. We all know their goal is to eradicate Jews to wipe them off the face of the earth. We all know Hamas wants to clear Jews out from the river to the sea. We understand that. They are terrorists. So we put that right here.
Starting point is 00:59:55 And then the follow-up question is, if I know that to be the case, and you know that to be the case, and Benjamin Et Yahoo knows that to be the case, why does he give these group of terrorists whose stated goal is to wipe Jews off the face of the earth? Why does he give them billions and billions and billions of dollars.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Why does he continue to give them billions of dollars three weeks before the attacks, which now we know, his approval for Qatar continuing to funnel billions of dollars to Amaz came after he was warned by MBZ in the UAE. Hey, an earthquake is coming. And people and there's an administration. An earthquake's coming. Hamas is going to slaughter you, your people. Be ready.
Starting point is 01:00:53 Be prepared. We don't want this to destabilize the region, which, of course, it has. And because of all this has happened, Netanyahu has slow-rolled, if not stopped, the internal investigations as to what happened. Because he knows it is so damning to him. And he will now...
Starting point is 01:01:07 All right, he can pause there. Finally. Any crazy, guys? If you want to get the real news, you could just watch MSNBC, or you could watch, you know, this show three years earlier. But anyway,
Starting point is 01:01:20 it's, look, it's wild that, I mean, it's unbelievable the state of the Overton window, the state of corporate media and just where even like people like Joe Scarborough are. But it's crazy that these conversations happen on cable news now. They certainly never used to.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Look, that's what we got out of this, bombshell reporting, is that Benjamin Netanyahu, as we knew was supporting Hamas all this time, was explicitly warned by a high authority in the, region that October 7th was coming and to prepare for it. That a major October 7th style event was coming and to have his people protected.
Starting point is 01:01:58 And we know that he continued insisting on the funding for Hamas and didn't protect his people. Draw whatever conclusion you want from that. It's damning no matter what conclusion you draw. And it really shakes up the way a lot of Americans should think about the last three years and should think about our relationship with this, this this government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, even if it's soon to not be. Okay, that's our show for today.
Starting point is 01:02:27 Members only episode tomorrow. And then Louville this weekend, Dallas, Fort Worth, next weekend. Hope to see a bunch of guys out there. Peace.
