Starting point is 00:00:06 What's up? What's up, everybody. Welcome to a brand new episode of Part of the Problem. I am Dave Smith. He is Robbie the Fire, Bernstein. And believe it or not, he is home. Amazing to see. How are you doing, sir, after all of your travels? How was the big show with Horton in Texas?
Starting point is 00:00:24 We had a blast. Should have filmed that one. That was a good showing of the Austin crowd. Presentation went great. And we had a good time. Nice, nice. Happy to hear that. And what's next up for you?
Starting point is 00:00:36 Well, we're coming to the home stretch here. So I'm just going to read it off. We've got a, I'm in Milwaukee on Thursday, Chicago on Friday, Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday, and then Sunday in Ohio, outside of Cleveland. And then just to read off everything through the end of the year, I got a gig in Stratham, New Hampshire, Birmingham, Alabama, Memphis, Bon Agua, Tennessee, Aguanga, California. And then I'm going to film the FBI thing in New York City in November. So go to port store.com, come hang out. All right. Sounds good, man.
Starting point is 00:01:04 that's going to be awesome. Can't wait to see it. And then what do we got? We're me and you together in October 23rd through 25th. We're up in Portland, Maine. The good Portland. Up in Maine. Come on out and see us there.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And we got like five shows up there. Portland. I think it's also, it's a prettier liberal shithole. But I don't know if it's the, listen, we're going to have a great show. There's got to be less drugs on the ground. There might be more drugs on the ground, Rob. I'm not sure. That might really, you know what?
Starting point is 00:01:34 I got to look up this. This might be, this might be, this might be fed in all country. Actually, I, I, I, you know what? I think you're right. I think the, the, the out west Portland's probably the dumber of the two, but the Portland we're going to, oh, you go to that downtown area, great coffee, but gay flags everywhere. Yeah. All right, listen, West Coast Portland. We don't have a date there, Rob. So that one sucks. We have a date at East Coast Portland. So that one's great. And we'll be there October 23rd, 4th, 23rd through 25th. And then, back at the American Comedy
Starting point is 00:02:06 at the American Comedy Club in San Diego. Don't forget that one, November 5th through 7th. And yeah, who knows? I got some fun stuff, some other big podcasts that I'm going to be doing before the end of the year. So some cool stuff coming up.
Starting point is 00:02:23 All right, Rob, let's talk about a few different things. Actually, a lot on my mind today. But that's good, as we were discussing before the show, for the Monday show, because maybe whatever we can't get to today, we'll cover tomorrow. I did want to talk a little bit about what I've been seeing today online as a lot of the backlash to my buddy Shane Gillis hosting Saturday Night Live for a third time. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Rob, maybe I'm putting a pattern together here that isn't exactly here. But I don't know. I feel like there's been something going on and it kind of between the, um, Maybe it's between the, I keep saying Princeton, but I'm wrong to say Princeton. Why do I keep on to say Princeton? The Cornell, the Cornell scandal, whatever you want to call that. And it's kind of Shane hosting now. It almost seems like a weird reemergence of woke one.
Starting point is 00:03:24 You remember what AOC was talking about? Woke 1 was crazy. I thought even AOC because when I say that, I just mean there's this weird thing where there was this thing called wokeism that kind of swept the nation. It was then soundly defeated. When I say swept the nation, I mean swept every major institution of every corporate outlet, academia, Hollywood, and most of liberal America, like these really crazy kind of views, this new kind of orthodoxy.
Starting point is 00:03:54 It was then soundly defeated in the culture, both, you know, all throughout the culture, electorally, as well as just in the marketplace in terms of boycotts of businesses. And to the point that, you know, you got AOC and Mom Dany and them taking their pronouns out of their Twitter bio. Like, that's over. They're, we don't even want to do that anymore. It's such a losing issue. And even AOC, one of the leaders of Woke 1 just says, eh, Woke 1 was Kray, Kray.
Starting point is 00:04:22 We're moving on to Woke 2 or whatever. But very specifically, we're seeing, you know, like, even though that's been defeated. It's not like all the people who believed in that stuff have been vanquished. There's still people in all of these institutions who actually bought into it. And then maybe there's some people who still want to cynically use it, which is really what drove the success of the first run. But Rob, I'm saying when I say, well, one, I mean very specifically, like Duke LaCross and, you know, the Duke LaCross case, it's almost, they ran the exact same playbook after this one. Oh, but every accusation, no matter how much all the facts on the
Starting point is 00:04:58 ground, point in the exact opposite direction, believe all women, we're going to do that. And then the same like, we're offended by what comedians, this is truly an outrage, what comedians say, and we must have, I don't know, this kind of like really purely authoritarian mindset around comedy, where if we do not control one inch of it, we must act as if this is aggression or something. I don't know. It was just this absolute craziness. Anyway, Rob, it's been a little bit weird.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I'm seeing, when I say woke one reemerging, I mean, like the exact same issues. And that, I don't know. I just, I guess I'm a little bit surprised. It almost, man, I'm not saying it is, Rob. I don't, I'm not a kook who says shit like this. But man, if it was a Mossad op to keep the Republicans in power, I'm not sure. Like, why is this happening right before the midterms? All of a sudden, they're picking up the least popular issues.
Starting point is 00:05:56 but I don't know, kind of strange. I didn't go conspiratorial with it, but I had the exact same thought that if these fruitcakes keep up their fruit caking, we're going to end up going, I don't care about these wars. I'll vote for Trump for third term. And so guys, just relax and be a little bit cool so we can agree on getting out of these dumb wars. Well, it's always your intent on reminding us how horrible you are, you know, before. or we're, it's very strange, particularly when you just see, I don't know, the, look, the flip out as we, me and you are very uniquely positioned to talk about this as, as people who are like,
Starting point is 00:06:40 we are, have been working stand up comedians this entire time. We also do a show about the news. We kind of have one foot in both of those worlds. But like, there was this rise of, it's such a, a. crazy thing, right? Because there was this rise of wokeism where it was like, oh, there was a real effort to keep all of the comedians. And by the way, it really has nothing to do with politics from our perspective. From their perspective, it has everything to do with politics. Because from their perspective, politics, this is why they're truly like kind of communist in nature,
Starting point is 00:07:12 these guys. From their perspective, politics is everything. And so if you don't have explicit left-wing politics in everything you do, that is a political statement from their perspective. But to be clear, they didn't like have a beef with me because of my politics. I mean, they did use that a lot and they really didn't like me, a lot of those guys. And they would use my connection to a lot of these guys to be like, see, they're all secretly right-wingers or something. But everybody knew that like my connection, even my connection to like Lewis and Jay or any of my comedy buddies who are like my good friends, my connection.
Starting point is 00:07:48 of them is just that we're brothers. We came up in comedy together. Not that like we're sworn loyal to the same political cause any more than you and all your friends and all your family have the exact same views. It's not like that. Anyway, their beef was always just with anyone outside the system. But Rob, if you remember in these days, and I'm talking like, I don't know, 20, 2012 through 2022 or something like that, in those days, it meant something to deny people the corporate access. That was you denying us our lifelight. You know, all the comedians crying about how Sebastian Manuscalckel took over a channel and
Starting point is 00:08:30 isn't giving them welfare anymore. All right, fine. I shouldn't call it welfare, but kind of charity. All those people crying. Well, that was us. That was us. We were in that situation. And I don't remember, I see a bunch of these guys asking me to make videos for them, Rob,
Starting point is 00:08:42 but I don't remember any of them making videos for me when it was me and all my guys being Xed out of everything. I remember that maybe quietly at best whispering to me, it ain't sure messed up. It is sure messed up that everyone in power thinks you're a Nazi. Anyway, but what happened after that rub is that that whole system broke and the internet system took over. The internet has just dominated the corporate thing and it's kind of changed everything.
Starting point is 00:09:07 To the point that, and I mean, I don't know, but Saturday Night Live, even when they have a big show, a huge part, if not the overwhelming majority of that, is how viral it goes online. That shit goes viral on clips. it gets way more views than it would have on NBC. It's not even the TV part isn't even what matters to TV anymore. Maybe that's a little bit of an overstatement,
Starting point is 00:09:25 but I'm sure they still get some people watching, but I'm probably not far off on that. Anyway, the point being, in the ultimate act of like, we're reversing course the market has spoken, Saturday Night Live goes from firing this guy as a cast member. So now having them back on for a third time hosting the show. It's kind of the craziest, you know, reversal culturally, like you could imagine in such a short period of time.
Starting point is 00:09:54 And they're sitting here protesting that, like, he dropped an F bomb in one. And like the controversial joke, I don't know if you saw it. Rob was that, like, about girls dressing like horrors at the gym, which like 100% of people know is a real phenomenon and know exactly what he's talking about, including the girls who dressed that way and the men who white night and defend. them. They also, like, all of it is the craziest emperor's new clothes position to pretend you're offended. Like, I don't even notice the trend. I don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, I'm sorry, Rob, I will, I will let you get in here and go for a while here. But the fact that they're now going to be furious about this guy over this mild shit when literally, what can you
Starting point is 00:10:39 take away from him? Saturday Night Live wasn't even a thing. Saturday Night Live was like a cherry on top after he had already won and dominated. He has, he's the hottest comedian of our time. What are you talking about here? So anyway, it's just so bizarre, like, what even would be the potential outcome? You want to box him out of Saturday Night Live? So he only gets to do stadiums and Rogan and everything else humongous. What's, it's just very bizarre to see. It almost seems like an op because how could it possibly make sense? Anyway, go ahead. Well, I think Shane is so, big and talented. There's really nothing you can do. If you took away everything, he'd have the biggest podcast because there would be more interest in the podcast. So Shane's not going anywhere.
Starting point is 00:11:25 But in Woke 1, you could have potentially had Netflix canceling a show. You could have had the stadiums that he's playing at saying, oh, we're not actually going to have this person here. And until we get there, it doesn't really matter. These are the people that weren't Shane fans complaining that there's a popular thing and that organizations essentially aren't. doing the go woke go broke because they can't and that these people have lost in the marketplace. That's what these people are really complaining about. But in woke one, you might have actually seen a real cancellation. And that's, that's where it gets scary is if it escalates to that on the minority people who were never consumers. This was never for them. And they're just
Starting point is 00:12:04 outraged. You know, I used to have a joke in my act about the way women dressed at gyms. And I remember having to be very selective about doing that in New York City. because sadly I wish I was at the level where I was allowed to bomb. I would love that. I would love pissing it off audiences sitting in the pocket and just having fun. If I was booked at a New York City club, I do not get that courtesy. It means I can do it once and never work there again.
Starting point is 00:12:32 But I had a couple times that I was working that bit. Workout weird women started. You can't comment on women body or whatever. And like you had to deal with like, why? Do you disagree with this object? Like, why am I not allowed to make this observation? It was one of those topics that audience. were just, I'm surprised at four years later.
Starting point is 00:12:47 That's still the case in New York, but that is what happens when you do S&L. But I do remember working that bit. It was a good bit. I had good lines for it. I worked it out. But it was a joke I had to do very selectively in New York City because you could get 22-year-old women and their white night boyfriends just turning on you just off the bat from the first observation.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Yeah. Yeah. And again, it's a weird thing to kind of grapple with. genuinely in terms of like your understanding of the country that we live in because there are you know when these issues get moved rob i guess when they get moved let's say on the margins like whatever it is but by at the beginning of covid you know there was like whatever the numbers i'm just making these numbers up but like people could go look it up but like if 80% of people supported lockdowns at the beginning by the end 80% were against them it was like a huge move from something like that you know
Starting point is 00:13:43 And but even in like a scenario like that, you're like, okay, but in the heart of deep blue New York City or in the heart of San Francisco or something like, what is the consensus exactly around any of these issues? It's kind of hard to say. Like, do people, is it consensus amongst them that they got everything wrong and we better just quietly move on? I mean, that's how a lot of them act publicly, but clearly that can't be the entire consensus. Anyway, I will say that the idea of launching woke one again, and I think you've seen this to some degree in the response to the Cornell case and in the response to even this, is that I'll tell you this. First of all, that shit is destined to fail. Any pulling out of woke one again, politically speaking, is destined to just get stomped out. Like, try, if you're going to try to do like the trans kid thing again or something like that, it's just, it's already been soundly defeated.
Starting point is 00:14:43 But I'm telling you, and I've seen a bit of this already, the response is going to be so much quicker and so much more vicious from the right. Like, it's not going to be anything like the response like the first time. I half agree with you, and that's because I think government is a bad business partner that you don't want. And at the moment, you can get away for basically one administration of bad policy and you'll get voted out. You're watching it right now with the Iran War. You're watching it. You just saw it with Biden, essentially with illegal immigration. But you can get into office and go on a four-year run of policy that people hate until they throw you out.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And if you end up with a new Democratic administration that is basically the same way war is a socialist activity, they're making a lot of money available for essentially woke culture media projects or they're pressuring media companies. to front more of that stuff. And colleges are getting more grants and everything if they're in line with that worldview. You can see another run where for the short-term companies see more profits or pressure to be in line with the regime. And just the best proof of like that there are bad business partners,
Starting point is 00:15:55 all of Hollywood got on board with the COVID agenda. And they basically lost their media enterprises to the fact that the internet just continued. I mean, look at like Comedy Central versus Kill Tony. Kill Tony continued. We continued. News lost numbers to us. And it's like the government doesn't get their back four years later to go, oh, we really fucked down this policy. Here's a massive paycheck. It's such a good point, man. And I don't know. There's something that I'm just like not smart enough to articulate above my pay grade that is some universal truth that you're like getting at there.
Starting point is 00:16:26 And it's something about also just a basic thing about dependency. Like anytime you take a higher, you know, it's like you're living in a nicer house than you could afford because someone else is paying for it. It's like, okay, that's great. You get that benefit early, but then if they pull that money, all of a sudden, you got to move and downgrade your life. And, you know, I'm thinking about Ukraine, right? When, Professor John Meersheimer said in 2014, well, all the Hawks were celebrating the revolution, he said right after it that America is leading Ukraine down the primrose path. It might look like we just poured billions into the economy and we just bought their independence and stole them away from Russia or something like that. Oh, yeah, yeah. And
Starting point is 00:17:06 the reaction was the fucking Russia. You know, like you do, and in a sense, right, isn't there such a great comparison between that and what you just said? Like the regime backing one side of a conflict, elevating them to a level that they wouldn't have been able to be at without them backing them that. And then when they lose that backing and they just got to sit there and deal with like all the backlash, you know, like whoever, George Soros's organization isn't dealing with the backlash.
Starting point is 00:17:35 but like some gender studies professor is getting torn apart online right now. But I'm just saying, so I get your point on all of that. It's very interesting. But man, I just see already where it's like the right wing is so much more hardened by the years of wokeism than they were going into the years of wokeism that hardened them. And you already see where like the response, you know, 10 years ago, everyone would have been like, believe all women, you know, the Cornell stuff, what AOC was saying is what everyone would have been saying in power. And then the right wing dissidents would have been
Starting point is 00:18:12 saying like, well, you know, I don't know, like trying to point out like we can't always believe women because then we give up on the process of law or something like that, probably making nuance points like me and you are still making today. But today, the young right wingers are like, she's a whore who wanted it and blah, blah, blah, and that's it. It's like we're not even having this conversation. Right. No one. No one's even trying to, like, debate the merits of transing kids or canceling comics or any of this. Because we spent a full decade debating it. All of the leftists were afraid to debate it.
Starting point is 00:18:44 They just demonized us as Nazis. We were completely right the whole time. And, you know, whether it's wokeism or Me Too or COVID or any of that shit. Like, nobody's going to, even including us, I don't think no one's going to like just re-debate these issues. We've already won them. We're moving on. Well, I agree with you. the tolerance and politeness about it from the right has been exhausted. And I hope you're right
Starting point is 00:19:08 that it's a fad like pogs. What concerns me with it is just the amount of socialist government money that can back. No, that doesn't mean they can't bring it back. I guess I'm not saying that. I'm saying your point is well taken. They could bring it back. They can manipulate the economy and make the incentives line up and force this stuff down people's throats. It's just like, oh my god this is going to be the worst thing for the country if you try to do that because man will this tear the country apart even more so and the reaction on the right is going to be so much more vicious and so much quicker than than it was previously all right guys let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show which is crowd health longtime sponsor great company i've been telling you about them
Starting point is 00:19:51 for a while fall is here the end of the year is coming up a lot of health insurance uh plans are going to be coming up at the end of the year and if you're not familiar with crowd health you really should because it is the alternative to health insurance. And we've been telling you for the last year about their Black Swan membership, which is the healthcare alternative for those who want autonomy over their care, their costs, and their lifestyle. For just $95 a month, you get a team of expert bill negotiators, access to low-cost prescriptions and lab testing, plus a curated database of high-quality, low-cost doctors vetted by crowd health. So there's no insurance middleman, no networks dictating which doctor you can or can't see.
Starting point is 00:20:30 It's just you in the driver's seat. And then what most people wonder is, well, what if there's a major black swan event? Well, you cover the first $15,000 in expenses, and the crowd steps up to help fund the rest. It's like the freedom we used to have before Obamacare came in and turned health care into a bureaucratic mess. So if you're ready to end 2006 on your terms, use the promo code POTP at join crowdhealth.com, and you'll get the first three months for just $80. That's right. Kick off the fall season with health care that puts you first.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Again, crowd health is not insurance. Opt out. Take your power back. This is how we win. Visit join crowdhealth.com and make sure to use that promo code POTP today. All right. Let's get back into the show. Hey, I do, speaking of leftist cowards,
Starting point is 00:21:19 I do want to get to Ben Shapiro at Turning Point USA. This was something. Ben Shapiro spoke at a Turning Point USA event over the weekend. He gave a speech and then he took questions from the kids. You really can't overstead. He took an onslaught of just, you know, kids coming up that ranged from, you know, respectful disagreement to all types of shouting and theatrics. But anyway, I thought some of these clips were interesting to play and get into.
Starting point is 00:21:55 There were a few things. You know, it was also coming off, Rob, I've had, I guess I was a part of a bit of a controversy, which I'm, you know, used to finding myself in over this weekend because I did the Tucker show. And Tucker framed the opening of the show in the post on Twitter as like, hey, Charlie Kirk, you know, said, question whether there was a stand down order. And all these years later, we still have all these questions. And no one can point to a single thing that Tucker or I said that was wrong in the entire
Starting point is 00:22:24 show, which was pretty damn controversial, two hours of programming. But no, so the only thing they can point to is that, like, Tucker Carlson said false flag in the tweet, and he's manipulating Charlie's words. The producer for Stephen Crowder said that. He said that this would be, this would be like, like if Tucker died and you claimed, he supported the war in Iraq. And I was like, well, Tucker has for 20 years explicitly said, I apologize for one's feeling that way.
Starting point is 00:22:54 I go, has Charlie ever explicitly apologized for questioning whether there was a standout order on the Patrick Brett David show? He hasn't responded so far to that. And neither has anyone else because it's not true. Charlie did say that. And we played the clip of what Charlie said. They have no argument here. Anyway, what is worth pointing out here, you know, and anybody can go, you know, look, Charlie was like 10 years younger than me. He was like 25 years younger than Tucker.
Starting point is 00:23:22 We all have our own opinions. It's not like we were looking to Charlie. We don't have to lie. It's not like we were looking to Charlie as a thought leader. The point is that this one guy who now in his death is kind of beloved by all sides, he said this. And hey, this was a very legitimate question and still is all these years later. Another legitimate thing to point out, Rob, which I think is fair is that Charlie Kirk,
Starting point is 00:23:43 say whatever you want about him. Yes, he remained. He never publicly renounced being pro-Israel. He privately flirted with the idea. but he never publicly renounced being pro-Israel. And he certainly defended Donald Trump. Even though he warned against the 12-day war, he defended him after he launched it.
Starting point is 00:24:03 And he was going to try to keep the coalition together or whatever. But there's also no question that Turning Point USA, the organization, has been radically transformed since his death into essentially rather than Charlie Kirk's mission, it's now just purely like the establishment wing, the Warhawk wing of the Republican Party. And look, dude, Charlie Kirk openly said that Thomas Massey was his favorite congressman. Charlie Kirk came out of the Ron Paul Revolution. Like Charlie Kirk, he said Massey was his favorite congressman.
Starting point is 00:24:40 And Turning Point USA did not lift a finger to help him, man. Didn't lift a finger to help him during the biggest smear campaign hit job from the Israel lobby in congressional history. Charlie Kirk openly said that he would never stop having Tucker Carlson, that he would never stop having that point of view. He told me, presently, that we were going to do a whole bunch more stuff together. Like, the organization just would have been a different thing with him there.
Starting point is 00:25:09 And that is just not the organization now. Now the organization is like you'll hear from J.D. Vance and Ben Shapiro and no one else. And, oh, what's that? The Israel lobby is trying to unseat Thomas Massey. Our comment is nothing. or one of the hacks up there will try to explain how, well, it doesn't really count that they're doing this and, you know, I think Charlie would have been okay with it or whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Like, so anyway, that's one of the things that's worth pointing out and worth noticing. This organization has been transformed. Again, don't take that to mean more than it does. It's not a comment on who killed them, but sure did work out in one way. You know? Yes, it is clearly not the same organization.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And I wasn't, didn't you point out once on the show that they weren't really having Ben Shapiro, that Charlie didn't quite like Ben Shapiro or am I inventing that? I don't know. I think Candace has said a bunch of stuff about that and probably Tucker too. I mean, you know, those guys knew Charlie better than I do. And I always kind of knew, you know, those guys were always telling me in his life that like, oh, no, dude, he's way closer to you than you think he is on these issues. because I would talk to them about him, you know, and be like, is he cool?
Starting point is 00:26:21 Is he going to be setting me up here? Is he whatever? And they'd be like, no, no, he's really cool. He actually really blue. And then he'd be telling me, oh, no, actually, I really agree with you on a lot of this shit. Anyway, it's, I don't even want to speak on the legacy of the man. Like, he's got a public record, man. People can go, go look at that.
Starting point is 00:26:36 In fact, Ben Shapiro said the same thing. But I will comment on the relevant issues when I see them, especially when, like, the biggest youth, you know, a Republican organization in the country has been transformed. That's a big deal. So anyway, Rob, you know, I will say, I'll say this. If anyone wants to go watch Ben Shapiro gave a speech and then he took some questions. We're going to play some clips from the questions.
Starting point is 00:26:59 There's, I watched the whole speech. I don't know if you saw it, Rob. It's, did you? I should ask first. I did not, no. I watched the clips he sent over my way, but I will. I've consumed enough Ben Shapiro for a lifetime. It was, it was rough.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Look, man, you're not missing anything at all. You know, it's interesting to me because Ben Shapiro clearly here, he's coming. he's coming here to sell the administration. And look, he's got a job cut out for him. He's selling, he's got to at some point at least try to sell this war to a demographic that is, you know, as opposed to it as anything. I mean, it's, you know, this, but young people, the country in general opposes the war like 80, 20, but young people, it's even higher than that.
Starting point is 00:27:44 And so, you know, you are kind of like coming in to some degree. you're trying to pitch some Christians on abortion rights, you know? You're in a tough position coming in trying to sell that. And so I was like he's going to have to address it at one point. Essentially, this is what he did. I think anyone watching the speech, this will be a good faith, like fair summary of it. He comes in. His speech essentially is point one, the Democrats are insane.
Starting point is 00:28:06 The left is insane. You know, not a bad place for him to start it there. It's a turning point USA event. And probably even me and you would agree with just about everything he said, right? This is what they wanted to do, blah, blah, blah. they want to do all the shit. It's terrible. We can't let them back in. No matter what, we can't let them back in. Number two, there's some great stuff that Trump's done that you don't really, you know, get enough credit for. And the things he's gotten, he's done. He launches on this
Starting point is 00:28:32 whole day. He very quickly asserts that like he's gotten rid of like DEI and racial discrimination under the law and transgenderism, you know, like that very quickly he asserts that. which of course the problem is that, you know, he hasn't really transformed anything and nothing he's done can't be undone by a president in one day. But then he just goes on a whole thing about how he's hawkish with Russia, he's hawkish with China, he's hawkish, oh, he realized we don't have to make peace with China.
Starting point is 00:28:58 We should back Ukraine. He's realized we've got to be tough on China. We can't accept they're like us. And he's tough on Iran. And then he just asserts as a given that Iran had to be dealt with. This war had to be done. And he said, obviously, there's going to be costs, but compared to all these other wars, the costs are way less.
Starting point is 00:29:16 And anyone saying Iran is winning his nuts, look, they've been so much more damaged by us. And that's essentially his pitch. But didn't he also give the Carg Island pitch, hey, if they just went all the way, we'd be done? He mentions briefly that we shouldn't have paused. We shouldn't have paused. We should have gone harder there. And that was the big mistake, not launching the war. And then I think he tries to cover up in a way for the war.
Starting point is 00:29:41 and say that the issue with Trump is that the administration has been corrupt and willing and dealing, and that's why people don't like him. I believe that was in a part. I believe that was a part responding to a question. Okay. And he had that point.
Starting point is 00:29:54 But his pitch basically was that, was that, you know, anyone, this had to be done. Yes, there's a little bit of a cost, but anyone telling you otherwise, you know, anyone telling you that we're losing, we're not because, well, look, you know, blah, blah, blah, the, we've damaged them so much more than us.
Starting point is 00:30:16 And then, of course, he got in some bragging about how the, the straight of Hermus is doing really great. And it's, the problem's been solved. We may not have time to get into all that in today's episode. But anyway, that, that was kind of the essence of it. The real problem here that you could just see, and this is just so obvious from the outside looking in. And look, I'm going to be honest that I, obviously, I'm biased.
Starting point is 00:30:40 and, you know, my point of view on this is that the only real economics is Austrian economics, and essentially the Austrians are the only ones who even have anything worked, anything to say about this. I'm sorry, like, where is the great conservative economists with their theory on money and credit, Rob? You tell me, I'm listening. Where's the great liberal? Where's the great liberal theory in my mind? What do you got? Cains?
Starting point is 00:31:08 Get the fuck out of here, dude. This is garbage pseudoscience. Like genuinely just garbage. You can't even believe it rose to the level of like being accepted in academic institutions. But then again, you know, they give awards to people like Fauci. Anyway, they have no. So, okay, yes, that is my bias, but also it's a bias toward the truth. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:28 But just looking at this, Ben, how do you go? You're going. Look, obviously, this isn't just like a problem in our country, Rob, but this. The problem that is coming to define our country is that we're passing on a system to the next generation that overwhelmingly looks like it is not going to work for like anybody. This is the real issue here, Rob. It's not just like where unaffordability has gotten us to. It's the fact that clearly there's no end in sight.
Starting point is 00:32:04 We all know, even if people can't put their finger on it quite the way me and you try to on this show, Rob, we all know that we're going in this direction where things are just going to be more and more and more expensive and that wages are not going to keep up with the rate of growth, right, and that the currency is being more and more devalued. And you get to a point where we're like, we're not far off from it. It's true in major cities. We're essentially like, you really almost got to be a millionaire to be like you're doing okay. It's like not that far off from that. We're like, you really got to be doing. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But for sure, or people, like the next generation is having, there's this huge kind of epidemic of people who are like,
Starting point is 00:32:48 you know, make 70K a year and are still being helped by their dad and are still being helped by their mother, still because they want to live in a city. And it's just too expensive to live there. And you're coming in here and you have nothing to say to these kids about any of that. Like you just have nothing. And your only comment is just to like, sell this like, oh, we got to be hawkish with Russia and hawkish with Iran. And let me tell you, we've done more damage to them than they have to us. So yes, I know your burrito's gotten more expensive,
Starting point is 00:33:18 but we don't need to focus on that. Like you're not even attempting to speak to the struggle of these young people who have some very legitimate struggles. And you just watch this and you go, dude, you're going to lose. You're going to lose to the socialists a hundred out of a hundred times because they're at least speaking to something that might matter to those kids. Something about their country, about their problems, about their costs, the actual barriers for them. You know, like, this is like a very real scenario, like a real person. And by the way, when you're talking at Turning Point USA, Rob, you're talking to a young
Starting point is 00:33:55 person who's somewhat interested in politics. So it's like a person of that age, these are the guys. Like, you talk to that. These are the kids who like are. six figures in debt and are looking at a bullshit job market and houses are going for six, seven hundred grand. That's the world they're inheriting. You have nothing to say about it at all. Well, he's there selling a war. And so he doesn't want to get into the downside of the war, which is costs are going up or that Donald Trump abandoned his America first pitch to the American
Starting point is 00:34:31 public. And so those are all the things that he has no interest in addressing. And And to the extent that Donald Trump has tried to influence economic policy, it's basically through socialist means of, hey, I'm going to send you a paycheck, I'm going to pay for this. We're going to have tariffs. We're going to essentially plan the economy. And so all of that has only basically given room to the Democratic socialist to be better liars and go, hey, the game is rigged, but I'm going to come in with benefits for you. And I'm going to steal for other people from you. The lie there is that it's not actually going to work out in your favor because you're going to end up with rationing with goods or just costs going up. you're going to find that the things that you were looking for and thought government could provide for free are not actually free or not available. But everything that you're describing would make for a great Dave Smith speech for Ben Shapiro,
Starting point is 00:35:21 who's trying to pretend that this war is not what has destroyed the Republican Party or that it was actually a win for the American people and that this was for our strategic interest. The last thing he wants to get into is the fact that the economy is not great, that it's screwing over kids and that Donald Trump has a banned. in trying to address that. Yep. Here, let's get into some of the clips. Let's start with the wild one first, which was the guy who just kind of spazzed out on Ben Shapiro, which, you know, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:35:49 not particularly helpful, but I did find this moment to be kind of revealing. You just won't, you can't believe how Ben Shapiro handles this. So let's say, here, America is waking up is the name of the tweet. But yeah, it's the first one, I believe,
Starting point is 00:36:05 that I sent today. that way let's let's jump into this the prince of madison here ben shabir or should i call you ben israelo my friend the enemy here is not the left the enemy of the epstein cabal who works for israel and we know who you are loyal to my friend the enemy of the people who are taking our tax dollars to shoot and drudda a palestinian five years old girl shot by six hundred bullet funded by American taxpayer. This is 1948. We are no longer welcoming aid to Israel.
Starting point is 00:36:50 You are the enemy. Trump is a pedophile, and he's not releasing the Epstein file. Let's not lie to ourselves, my friend. Everything is clear, everything is obvious. Who are you loyal to Pet Shabiru? Israel or America. Say it right now.
Starting point is 00:37:10 America. USA against Israel. Israel. We are United States of America and we are not United States of Israel. Israel under my leg right now. Israel will not win America. USA. USA.
Starting point is 00:37:27 For Israel. Trump, the pedophile who is hiding the Epstein list. I mean, well, that was a deeply convincing argument. I must say that you. You screaming over and over, Israel, Trump, Trump's a pedophile, I don't find it wildly convincing.
Starting point is 00:37:50 What I do think is that you are demonstrating a complete lack of any sort of knowledge about anything and screaming like, it's not, performatively, is not actually a form of convincing anyone.
Starting point is 00:38:08 There's no, listen, there's no response to people who are going to get up there and just yell like assholes. Let me be very clear about this. Ben Shapiro, let's settle this right now. Okay, me and you on the stage in a boxing match, USA versus Israel. All right.
Starting point is 00:38:24 So you know what, actually, we could pause it right here, but don't leave the video because I want to play, or I mean, you can pull it down, but I don't want to, I want to get back to this. But look, Rob, I'd say up to here, because it's really the end, what Ben Shapiro says next that I want to focus on. But up to here, I will say, this almost reminded me of, like, old school Ben Shapiro. You know, like this is what he's good at handling is a, is a person yelling kind of at him. By the way, I will say, if you're that guy, not helping your cause, not even say, I don't know that your cause and my cause are the same cause, although you're trying to make Ben Shapiro look bad and that is awfully close to my cause. But you are not helping your cause whatsoever. In fact, this is what Ben Shapiro is good at defeating.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Chanting USA in a thick, thick accent maybe isn't the way to go at Ben Shapiro. I will just point out that Ben Shapiro's own one against a speedbag. I don't know if you've ever seen that video of him in a law school when he manages to get hit in the head with the speedback. He just punched and then starts like crying. Look, I will say this is what Ben Shapiro really has been, I guess one of his skills, it's not really that hard of a skill. But this is one of the things he's been able to do throughout his career is kind of deal
Starting point is 00:39:36 with people who are being hysterical like this and say a little bit of a clever thing. and then, but he ends up saying something after this that I just found I just couldn't not pounce on this. So let's play the rest of the clip until the end here. Here's, here's, okay, so here is my response. Yeah, I have, I've, see, again, see, you, okay, I'm going to need to shut the fuck up. You have nothing relevance to say. argument to make. You have sloganeering bullshit. You're spewing about me, about the United States, about the presidents of the United States. You have nothing of merit. So here's what I would
Starting point is 00:40:22 recommend. Go read a book, get a job, do something useful with your life. They're not sending their best. They're not sending their best. There it is, Rob. There it is. We can cut this video off right now. That you don't get to say anymore, Ben Shapiro. I'm sorry. You don't get to say they're not sending their best. They've sent all of their best. Their best have been knocking at your door for the last three years, really for the last 15 years. The best critics of Israel have all been trying to debate you. And no, I am not referring to myself, but I'm on the list of people who's been trying.
Starting point is 00:41:26 They're not saying. Oh, see, Ben Shapiro loves to sit here. And this is the thing is that like, dude, I'm sorry, you can't go back to this. this be the only type of competition you're willing to face and then go read a book and get a job. Hey, Ben, I've read a book. I've read several. And I have the same job as you. Oh, yeah, so you won't do that.
Starting point is 00:41:51 You won't have that debate. You won't have that conversation. Not just me against anybody, against any competent critic of Israel, of this war, of any of it. He won't debate anyone, but then he wants to say, oh, get a book and get a book. get a job and they're not sending their best. No, that's all you're willing to take on. But the nerve of you to sit there and go, oh, geez, this is, it's almost like, because I'm sorry, dude, but like, and look, they'll always be someone, right? There, in fact, there are at all times, Rob, this is what it's like to be me and my career. At all times, there are like a handful of the
Starting point is 00:42:28 new guys or maybe up-and-comers or maybe never are going to be or maybe we'll be future stars or whatever, but there's new guys who want to debate me. And they say, I'm ducking them. You know, they go, oh, why won't he come debate me? You know, whatever. It's like, you know, they're mad. They have to work their way up to, or something at this point. But look, within reason, you could go, okay, Dave's done like fucking, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:53 58 debates on this topic. He's really willing to debate the topic. There's, he's willing to do this. I will do this, you know, against a very competent opponents as, as, well as some embarrassing ones. Ben Shapiro has debated no one ever, ever on this topic. He absolutely just refuses to. He's been challenged up and down and will not do it. The nerve of him to still use this excuse. Oh, this is the best I got. As if he's positioning himself as if he's someone like me or somebody who's like, hey, dude, I've taken on everyone
Starting point is 00:43:30 here and this is still the best that they can come with. You don't get to. say that last part when you refuse to do the first part. Very insulting to those of us who do do to just jump right to the ladder. Does that make sense? Yep, a fair critique. I didn't make it that far. I made it to when the kid thread into box him and I was like, oh, this is just stupid. And well, that is, yes, that is stupid and also it is really, again, like that guy, if you're there because I guess there's like not a higher than zero percent chance that that guy or someone who might want to be like that guy would listen to us. And if you do want to hear anything from us, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:44:11 You make Ben Shapiro look good. You give him the win on that little. Listen, man, these ideas are like, I understand it's easy when it comes to, for whatever reason, due to human psychology. and some of this makes sense, there are issues that people get very passionate about. And there are issues when it comes to policy and when it comes to government,
Starting point is 00:44:35 they evoke this kind of like, you know, swelling of the heart and emotion. And obviously when there's something like war or genocide on the table, there's obvious reasons why emotions are so high. But all of these ideas, man, these are like powerful forces. You may not realize it, you know, like you may, it's more obvious. If you're throwing a punch at someone's face, you're a little bit more aware of what you're doing. Like, yo, I'm using power right now against this guy to harm him.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Like, ideas are powerful, too. And you do have a little bit of a responsibility. You're going to start throwing them around to know the first thing you're talking about. You know, you want to get Ben Shapiro. Get them. Go there with a good, like, point to get him on. But don't all this, like, threatening the, you know, let's box. What fuck does that prove, dude?
Starting point is 00:45:20 Get out of here. All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show. which is quince, which is an unbelievable company. I love them. Quinn saves you a ton of money because they partner directly with ethical factories. They skip all the middlemen, so you're getting top tier stuff at half the price you'd pay with other brands. Starting point is 00:46:31 and 365-day returns. Quince.com slash P-O-T-P. All right, let's go back into the show. Anyway, yeah, so that's dumb and yelling at him like that is dumb and stuff too. But I just thought it was truly remarkable that Ben Shapiro has the nerve to still be out there acting as if, I don't know, this is the best they got. Let me tell you say he's telling that kid,
Starting point is 00:46:53 to read a book and get a job. Let me tell you something. That kid, that's good advice. Read a book and get a job. I will give you the same advice. There's only one downside that comes, Rob, with reading one book and getting a job. That Ben Shapiro will never debate you again.
Starting point is 00:47:10 That's your loss. That's what you lose. But that is well worth it to loot, like in your own life for your own enrichment. Reading a book is way more important than debating Ben Shapiro again. Okay. Anyway, let's go to the, let me see. here. Forget the next one I sent because that one was having some trouble, but go to student confronts Ben Shapiro on Israel's genocide, genocidal intent. I thought this one was an interesting clip. This was a little bit calmer.
Starting point is 00:47:37 And thank you so much for coming here tonight. I'm a government major and I have a question pertaining to your thoughts on Israel. You have long denied that what is currently happening in God that could constitute a genocide partially due to a lack of intent. But I would like to ask how this pelting a five-year-old Henry Job with 355 bullets while she was trapped in a burning car surrounded by her dead family members on the phone from urgent services and then subsequently killing the emergency aid workers who came to help her not demonstrate an intent to massacre. Okay, so number one, that is a, certainly that particular situation is under heavy dispute from the IDF. So using the Palestinian narrative on that without seeing the IDF counter narrative. And again, I'm not sure that the fact pattern has been established beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm not sure that that answers the question.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Beyond that, let's assume for a second that all of that's true. Okay, let's assume that all of those accusations are true. to pretend that individual war crimes, which is what that would be, that an individual war crime is indicative of the entirety of a war effort would be to ignore the entire history and context of every war in the history of civilization. To pretend that no war crimes exist in any war, and that any war crime, therefore, justifies a charge of genocide, is insanity. The notion that what is happening in the Gaza Strip,
Starting point is 00:48:50 the notion that what's happening in the Gaza Strip is a genocide is belied by every single fact. And what I mean by that is that in order for there to be a genocide, you would have to, for example, demonstrate that Israel is attempting to exterminate an entire population, as opposed to moving gigantic swaths of civilians from particular areas, heavily urbanized areas that were being used by Hamas in order to protect themselves from Israeli retaliation. You would have to explain. Let's just pause it right there. Now, again, look, you can really understand here, Rob. and I think we've covered this, you know, in our recap episode of Gaza and we had the, was it a genocide episode recently. But like, you could really understand why Ben Shapiro with this argument will only engage in this format where he's up at a podium.
Starting point is 00:49:43 You will get a question. He can go on a long rant. You may get one or two follow-ups and then that'll be it. Because it's, I think it's kind of obvious what his sleight of hand here is where he's, He goes, oh, you have to prove intent that Israel was trying to wipe out the entire population, which, again, is not the legal standard for genocide. It just isn't. Now, if that were the case, Ben Shapiro would have an argument, but that's not the legal standard,
Starting point is 00:50:09 and that's not what people on the other side of the argument are saying. And in fact, Rob, I think we went through this, right? But there's five different examples that could be acts of genocide, that any one of them with the intent could be considered a genocide, and one of them is creating unlivable conditions. So like destroying an entire area. So Ben Shapiro's like, no, we moved the civilian. But like they almost rubbed. They almost have to use ethnic cleansing as a defense for genocide.
Starting point is 00:50:38 They have to go, no, no, no, no, we cleansed all the civilians out of the area before we made it unlivable. Like this is the level of defense that they're at. And that is just, I don't know, man, it is such a creepy, demonic place to be in where you're going. He's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Understand, Rob. We only killed 100,000 of them in the process of moving them out of their homes, then destroying their homes, never to return again. Where will they go?
Starting point is 00:51:05 We're not, we haven't announced it yet. Like, this is what they've got going in to defend. And then, of course, you know, I don't know, Rob, his example of, yeah, I guess he's right. One war crime does not a genocide make. But it does get you to start questioning all this stuff about exactly what intent means, an intentionality and how humane this military force is. It's kind of obvious the point there. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:51:29 Any thoughts on any of that? Yeah, well, I mean, the biggest one is when he says trying to kill everyone in full and the definition clearly says in part. So that's a nice diversion tactic. But then even on the original one, which is, well, you know, that's just an accusation and we got to wait for, yeah, okay, we got to wait for what the Israelis have to say about it, the ones who for what a full year were telling you that uh the gaza health ministry numbers were incorrect like uh who told us that uh the hospital needed to be bombed because there was a tunnel
Starting point is 00:52:02 underneath and then we found out Israel had put that tunnel there or whatever that was at the beginning of the war i mean like hey uh israel says it isn't so you know it wasn't and you're you got to trust the terrorist that it was so actually that's not even a valid accusation okay I guess fine. And remember when they used to like dispute early, the thing, oh, they're trying to make it look bad. Like Israel hit this hospital, but actually it was a Hamas rocket that went off in the park and a lot of the hospital. And the hospital's still there, which they were right about that one. If you remember, there was that one hospital where some people got over their skis and said Israel hit it.
Starting point is 00:52:38 It turned out Israel didn't hit it. It was still standing. You know where that hospital is today? It's destroyed, Rob, because Israel destroyed all of the hospitals in Gaza. Like, they were arguing over things that now are just like there's not even an argument. argument anymore. Like, you destroyed all of them. You weren't, it wasn't even. And, and then they go, well, yeah, but that's a good thing. Like, the same ones who are defending that. Anyway, this is why they, you know, they don't want to be engaged in a debate where people can counter these points.
Starting point is 00:53:01 All right, guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is Ultra. Do you desperately need a nicotine pouch every 15 minutes just to feel normal? One more time, take ultra.com promo code problem for 15% off. All right, let's get back into the show. Anyway, let's, here, let's keep playing the end of this. We're going door to door and having their limbs blown off by literally the thousands. I know many of them. In order to not kill Palestinian civilians, you'd have to explain why Israel shipped
Starting point is 00:54:42 in 2 million tons of egg. You'd have to explain why Israel gave a million polio shots. You'd have to explain why it is that the... Again, just pause it. Here, again, these are the things they say. It's amazing because it's like, I guess there's just no defending it maybe is the answer. I was going to say, man, the atrophy when they won't debate and test these talking points out. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I can't really think of a good example, but I'm sure all of us got to, like the people who debate a lot have a bunch of like kind of points that you just end up abandoning because they don't hold up well. You're like, yeah, that was a bad way to say it or that was a bad argument or that was that left me open to this. or something like that. This is just such a bad argument. Since when would this be have? Well, then you'd have to explain how they got food at all. It would almost be, Rob, like, imagine, imagine you were debating a Holocaust denier.
Starting point is 00:55:37 And the way I approached it was to argue with you and go, well, if Hitler's intent was to kill all of the Jews, why'd he even take him to the camps to begin with? Why not just shoot him on the trains? They had a ton of bullets. You know, like if I were to point, to bullets that the guards had but didn't use. If I was to point to food that Jews got at a concentration camp or at a death camp or something,
Starting point is 00:55:58 I mean, again, I don't even exactly know the details of this, Rob, right? But I know there were people kept in those camps for months and months and months and months and months. And I know people can't live for months and months and months without food, right? It's like, someone was getting food to them. What does that have to do with anything? Nobody ever judges a crime based on the non-criminal other. things that they may have done.
Starting point is 00:56:22 Nobody ever says, I'd like to enter into evidence this time that OJ took Nicole Simpson out to eat and fed her real well. In fact, they only focus on the time he murdered her at the trial. That's like the whole day that they spend, you know, all the attention on was that part. That's not true. I mean, they might mention how he used to beat her up before he. Well, I guess he didn't do it according to them. Anyway, the point is to Ben Shapiro.
Starting point is 00:56:50 that it's like, what does this mean to say there were polio vaccines and food shipped in? It just has nothing. That doesn't mean then you're allowed to do this. It doesn't even kind of counter the fact. Also, polio vaccine sounds like you probably didn't want your soldiers getting polio. It's quite possible. Quite possible. Here, let's play the end.
Starting point is 00:57:14 Is effectively the same size today, thanks to birth rate, as it was before the Gaza War. None of that looks like a genocide. There's literally been no war that has been fought in an urban terrain of this magnitude that has a better, and there's no such thing as good, obviously, but that it has a more effective civilian to terrorist kill ratio. And using Hamas statistics, calling that a genocide, you have to call literally every war that has ever been fought a genocide. So if you want to do that, then you just have to get rid of the word genocide, it doesn't mean anything. And citing individual instances, even if you were going to say that the Hindra-Hob situation went down exactly the way Palestinian say it did, that would still not answer the question. So this notion that Henry Job being massacred is only a Palestinian narrative is actually disproved.
Starting point is 00:58:02 The IDF admitted that they shot at Henry Job and the emergency aid workers, even though the PCRS and the Gaza Health Ministry coordinated with the Israeli military to let in passage, to get rescue to Hinri Job, but they subsequently shot her. They first said that, oh, we didn't do that. We weren't operating in the area. But the video audio recording came out of her phone call with the urgent services. And they were like, yes, we did shoot her. We did shoot the aid workers.
Starting point is 00:58:24 And then they were running an investigation. I'm sorry, can you please let me finish? Okay, sorry. Also, also, I mean, it's, listen, it's fine. I let you ramble for like five minutes. Can you please let me finish? Okay. It's a guys, guys, guys, seriously, it's okay. Go ahead. But like, come to, because you said a lot of things. I want to, I want to address all of them, okay? Well, I would prefer you not address, like, the entirety of the speech because there are other people who want to ask questions, but I'm happy to answer a question. Okay. And again, I'm perfectly willing to acknowledge that the, the IDF originally said that they weren't in the area and then admitted that they were in the area. So why did they lie? Why did they lie on multiple occasions including the killing of 15, 15 Palestinian aid workers and also the shooting of a UN and war?
Starting point is 00:59:06 Okay, first of, okay, now can I answer your question? Because you did hit a question mark at the end of that sentence. Okay, go ahead. Okay, thank you. I appreciate it. So the actual answer is that Israel has to do a full-scale investigation of every single one of these incidents while Hamas simply claims a human rights atrocity anytime anyone gets killed. And so it takes a lot of time for Israel to respond to every one of these charges. 8.8%? Beyond which, Israel, the IDF still did not suggest. The IDF certainly did not suggest that they purposely targeted aid workers. What they suggested is that there was error in the
Starting point is 00:59:33 targeting of the aid workers because it turns out that Hamas frequently masquer raids as aid workers while pursuing terror activities. That is just a real fast. Eight percent. Again, I guess really the takeaway from this here is that this is the only way Ben Shapiro will engage in the debate. And I mean, I guess just a point. Yeah, dude, this is the game that they play and it's so ridiculous. that they go, well, look, Hamas claims everything is an atrocity. It's like, which is true.
Starting point is 01:00:00 But also is like they largely end up getting proven correct. Then they'll say, well, the IDF has to hold a big investigation into this. But Rob, I mean, literally for people who pay attention in the news, for three years, you read about one of these events every single day. I mean, this one was particularly horrific. But every day, every day, there every day, there was. another story. They were killing like over 100 Palestinians a day for a while there. And every day, you'd read horrible stories about this. And every time they say the IDF is going to investigate.
Starting point is 01:00:32 And also, by the way, we're not going to allow any journalists in. And so then Ben Shapiro can sit there and say, well, Hamas just claims it's an atrocity. We investigate. So we're so much better than them. What a bullshit game. What an obvious bullshit game. And by the way, while they've done that, Rob, we know just because we can fly drones and we got satellites. It's the only way we know that, oh, what they did is they destroyed the entire Gaza Strip. Even what Ben Shapir is going to go like, Rob, these bullshit numbers about the like the death rate or something like that. Like, all right.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Let's say that's it. Let's say it's just 72,000 or whatever the number that Hamas says it is right now. It's like also like Rob, can you like you could listen, dude, you could see some war torn areas, man, if you want to look at some of the worst, you know, damage of the global war on terrorism, but you can never find any, you just cannot find a situation where it looks like Gaza, where they move two million people out of there and are like, they've just absolutely destroyed their home. It didn't happen. And like also, Rob, I mean, obviously there's something to be said for, you know, the just the Israel-Palestine dynamic is just different than the U.S.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Iraqi dynamic was. We didn't militarily occupy them for. fucking the last 60 years before we did this. It's just different. It's a different thing. Anyway, there's, I don't know. I guess one of the reasons why I just found all this so interesting, Rob, is that here you have the dynamic, right? It's almost full circle, as you see weirdly the rise of woke one, you know, coming back, or something like that as we were talking about in the beginning.
Starting point is 01:02:15 And then here's Ben Shapiro, 10 years later, right? But 10 years ago, it was going to be Ben Shapiro, like, taken on all these young people who, you know, were arguing all this dumb woke shit. And I guess it was at least implied, although I certainly think it was true in a lot of ways, Rob, that like the professors were almost afraid to tangle with him. So all that was left was the 18-year-olds would come out. You know, these 18-year-olds would come out to essentially yell at him and have nothing and he'd destroy all of them.
Starting point is 01:02:47 And now you flip it around and it's at a turning point USA event. he's got to deal with those young kids. They're the ones now. And now it's almost like a dynamic where all of their professors really want to debate him, you know, professors and the people who people are listening to and getting a lot of this information from. All of them would love to go debate Ben Shapiro. Ben Shapiro is just afraid to do it with any of them. But I mean, I'm just saying, dude, you want someone who has a job and has read a book.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Leave me out of it. Glenn Greenwald. There's a name for you, Ben Shapiro. Go debate Glenn Greenwald. go debate Glenn Greenwald. I bet you'll notice that he has a job and he's read some books. He will tear your shit apart. And there's a reason why you won't do that because you'd rather go deal with that guy and go,
Starting point is 01:03:32 this is the best they have. Or even deal with this kind of thoughtful young woman who's just obviously is not up to the challenge of like debating Ben Shapiro and is doing it from the stands with people, you know, talking behind her and we'll maybe get one follow up question. And like, that's, I don't know, in today's world, man, that's in this industry today, it's just such cowardice to create this illusion. I think there's a, it's a wildly convenient argument to go, listen on this specific instance, it takes time for them to investigate.
Starting point is 01:04:06 If I was slaughtering all of my neighbors and then someone said, hey, you can't slaughter all your neighbors. And I was like, well, it's going to take some time to investigate that that's what I was doing. You know, that doesn't happen. I get arrested, you stop it, and then you've investigated. It's very convenient when you're at government and you go, well, we're going to continue this exact activity and you can't criticize us because we haven't investigated our own activities yet.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Yes, and especially when you won't let media in. Like media without even investigatory powers or arresting powers, but just the power of like we can try to get down. They can investigate in the sense of try to figure out what happened, not to arrest or use force in anyway. But it's like even that you won't allow it. Okay. But yeah, Rob, as I'm going and slaughtering my neighbor, you know, every time I go over there, they call it, they don't even differentiate between when they were fighting back. But we investigate every time. That's, that's really the claim here. All right, that'll be our show for today. Catch you guys tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:05:05 Peace.
