Regina Swarn Audio Series Presents - SEASON 8 Q & A *Authentic Storytelling: How I Create Raw, Unfiltered Interviews

Episode Date: September 15, 2025

Fan MailEver wonder what makes a truly authentic interview? In this intimate monologue, I pull back the curtain on my unique approach to podcasting that sets my show apart from others. My philosophy i...s refreshingly simple: let people tell their own stories, completely uninfluenced by their previous media appearances or interviews.Unlike many hosts who study their guests' past interviews, I deliberately avoid this practice. Not because I'm unprepared, but because I'm committed to creating something genuinely fresh. When you listen to my conversations, you're hearing authentic reactions and questions that emerge organically from the moment, not recycled talking points from other shows. This approach creates a raw, unfiltered experience where guests share their truths without the safety net of heavy editing. What you hear is what actually happened – a rarity in today's highly produced media landscape.Season 8 is just around the corner, kicking off with talented painter Murphy Elliott, followed by an exciting lineup of ministers, politicians, entrepreneurs, and everyday people with extraordinary stories to share. My passion for audio storytelling traces back to childhood memories of listening to radio with my sister – those suspenseful moments where imagination filled in the visual gaps. That's why I've built my brand on audio rather than video. It's not about being seen; it's about creating an intimate space where stories can truly be heard. If you value authentic human connection and unscripted conversations, this upcoming season promises to deliver stories that will move you in unexpected ways. Nice, Regina Sworn here. Happy Monday. How are you?
Starting point is 00:01:15 I hope all as well. This is just a little, another little one, a little one. another little quick, I don't want to call it a podcast. I'm just going to say another few minutes talking about season eight because you've heard so much. It's been such a build-up about it. And so now here's another one, right? So, yeah, season eight is still set to go forth. We are in the background right now trying to put together all of the sponsors and put together their commercials and other things that I'm going to have. going on. So as you all know, the way that I do my show is totally different than other people.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Totally different. I'm not saying that other people don't do it this way, but this is the way I've always did it. Even if you go back to my radio is pretty much I let the person tell their story and I kind of piggyback off of what they are speaking of. I don't spend time looking at it. interviews the person has had or anything like that. I don't do that. And the reason I don't do that is because I don't want to borrow anything from an interview. I don't want to borrow that. I want to go into it just totally free of anything else that anybody has ever, you know, what you deal with other people. I like to go into it free of all of that. So because you're going to be the one telling your story.
Starting point is 00:02:49 As you can go back to Jerry Hayes last month in the month before last, how Jerry told her story, I asked questions accordingly, offer what we were speaking of, and it was beautiful. And that's the way
Starting point is 00:03:04 I have always, especially lately, that's the way I do my show. I don't look at other interviews. It's really so easy for people. people sometimes to look at other interviews and they borrow from this one and borrow from that one. I do it totally different, guys. I choose to refrain from that. Sometimes I don't even
Starting point is 00:03:28 look at other interviews that the person has been on so it can be fresh coming from my perspective so I can bring you something fresh because, again, it's going to be that person telling their story. Because no one can tell your story better than you can. So the story that you are telling, and I'm just going to kind of piggyback off of it, ask you questions of what you are saying. That's the way I've always did it. I don't want to change that up. So, again, a lot of times people will send me different interviews that they have done with other people or whatever. I don't watch it for the clearer reason because I want to keep it the way that I do it.
Starting point is 00:04:14 And the way I do it is by letting that person tell their own story without me having to go back and point out things from another person's interview because I don't want to borrow from another interview. I just want, if I got your talent and I got your achievements and the things that you have achieved and you have done over the span of your life, that's all I need. I go from there. I introduce the show. I introduce myself. I introduce things like that. Then, of course, I'm going to bring you on, and you are going to tell your story. And then from there we go on.
Starting point is 00:04:54 So just be prepared not to, if you don't want something in the interview, try to not say it because my shows are real and raw. It's as is. So I, yeah, it's what you get. So try to whatever you want to say, make sure that's what you want the public to hear Because I don't go back just cutting this out and cutting that out and all of that That so it's going to be nice and clear don't worry about that But yeah, I don't listen to other interviews and I do that for the pure reason
Starting point is 00:05:29 Because basically I want the show to be the way I do it and I want it to be my way And I want it to be your story because you're going to be telling it So that's all I get to say. Season 8 is right upon us. I had to make another podcast here, another little few words, tell you another few words, say a few words. So, yeah, we got a few things going on in the background, of course, but it's still going to happen. Season 8 has not started yet. We're about to get it started, but it hasn't started yet.
Starting point is 00:06:04 My first guest is going to be the amazing, wonderful Murphy Elliott, and you guys, I'm sure you've always seen a lot of his work all over social media. He's an incredible painter. This man is just so wonderful. I looked at his work online. And again, I don't focus on the interviews that other people did with him. I prefer not to focus on a person's past interviews. I prefer to focus on their work itself.
Starting point is 00:06:36 So I can go forward with my perspective. and the story I want to tell and the story that they're going to tell. So again, yeah, it's going to be that way, you know, so I'm looking forward to that. So I just want to bring you this quick thing on Monday. This few words, because a lot of people have been asking me, so when is season 8 going to start? Oh, my God, it was supposed to start in September. It was supposed to... Well, you know, sometimes great things take time.
Starting point is 00:07:07 But just no, rest is short. Season 8 has not started yet, and it's going to be starting very soon here. So I'm asking you, if you would, just continue to be patient because I do have things going on in the outside in my private life as well. But so, yeah, it's still going forth and hasn't started yet, but once you get started, of course, my first guest, Eslated, is Murphy Elliott. And then, of course, I got a list of wonderful names and wonderful businesses, wonderful people, wonderful stories. I got so many great stories this season that was just going to knock your socks up.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Should I say knock your socks off? Probably not a good thing to say. But again, as always, bringing you stories from people all walks of life. Don't discriminate in that way. I like to bring different stories, you know, like how people tell their story, you know, be speaking with ministers and politicians and business owners and, you know, that mom that might have a story out there. So I just got a lot of different things I'm going to speak of.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Love stories. Yeah, yeah, a love story to bring to you as well. So, yeah, I get some things that's coming forth in season eight, in season nine. and God's willing. So just bear with me. It's going to happen. But I just want to bring this little audio to let you know everything is still going forward.
Starting point is 00:08:47 So I just needed to do this today because a lot of people have been asking me. And sometimes it's not good to rush anything. You know, let people do rush or rush. I'm not a rush, rush, rush, kind of person. I'd just like to make sure something is right in the way I want it. And, yeah, so I'm still slated to get started. So don't worry, you guys. Continue to be patient and it's going to happen. But just letting you know that I don't borrow from other interviews. I can't do that. I can't borrow from something that someone else is asking a person or, you know, but I do look at their accomplishments is what I go off of. And that's what makes my podcast different, my audio different. It's an audio series. So it's like,
Starting point is 00:09:36 Like my sister, Laura, we grew up off of radio, and we used to love to hear the old music. And we remember the car. It was so expensive. We grew up off of that. We grew up off of that. So the fact that we grew up off of that, I've always loved radio. And podcast audio is something that I still love. Sure, I can be seen.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I mean, but it's not about being seen. It's about bringing a story. And radio has always been, my strong point, it's always been something I love because I grew up listening to radio, you know, as a kid. So, I don't know if you guys understand what I'm trying to say, but I know what I'm trying to say. And radio means a lot to me. So that's why I love audio podcasts.
Starting point is 00:10:32 that's why I build my brand off of audio podcasts. So yeah, it's going to be nice. It's going to be nice, I can you say. So thank you for listening to me, Rambl, here for 10 minutes. You can write to me or contact me at Swarindretina at gmail.com. Again, thank you. Season 8, right around the men, guys, right around the bin or the men or I don't know if I'm saying that right. But thank you so much for your patience.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Love you. God bless. Take care. Okay, that concludes another great broadcast. Thank you so much for joining me for Regina Swarine Audio Series.
