Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP: 985 Creature Follows Farmer Home
Episode Date: September 2, 2023Jacob writes "Last year in September in Minnesota I had a close interaction with a creature and have some video footage of it. Last year when this event took place I originally thought it was a dog ma...n or wendigo or something of the sort. I recently my cousins talked to me and said I should contact you about this because what happened to me is very similar to the encounters on your podcast and after listening for a bit and hearing the Sierra sounds that's when I was convinced this was a sasquatch or big foot. Last year I was plowing a field for this farm I work at while on the phone with my older sister (for privacy purposes I'm not going to use anyone's real name besides my own) but her and I were chatting away about the day and some other stuff when from across the field mid turn around I noticed something in the corn field. It was big and black but from the distance I was at probably 1000 yards away I couldn't make out what it was but at first glance I thought the Andersons cows got out again, so I drove over to investigate. While I'm on the phone I'm explaining to my sister about how I see a cow and it got out so I got to go lead it back to the pasture area they have so it doesn't get in the way of me plowing the field. (I just want to preface that I grew up in Oregon in the cascade mountains so I'm very familiar with the legend of sasquatch and wild life in general as I grew up in the mountains and hunting) so as I'm driving over towards this corn field its just hitting me that this "cow" is absolutely massive. Its was huge, so I park the tractor about 250 yards away from where I see this cow and I start walking over towards it still on the phone with my sister. Mind you this entire time I'm telling her what I'm seeing you know because it was just an odd looking cow. So get about 100 yards away and I realize this isn't a cow by any means it's way to big. I thought it was a black bear, they aren't terribly common in Minnesota but it is possible. So I continue to walk closer because my curiosity was dying to find out what this creature was, but as I get closer it hits me that black bears are not this big I've seen grizzlies this big but black bears are very small compared to me as I'm standing at 6'5". So this entire time I am thinking to myself what the hell is this thing, so I get 50 yards from it and while I'm walking it's staring at me kind of swaying back and fourth, and then it stands up on 2 hind legs, now that's when I was flabbergasted because it's now standing taller than the corn field which is 7 ft tall. It was a good foot and a half if not 2 feet taller than the corn field and I'm explaining this to my sister and she is like what the hell because black bears cannot stand that tall and if they can I've never seen them that big when I was hunting. So I get 20 yards away and this thing bellows and does an ear piercing scream that rattled my rib cage and my sister starts freaking out she over heard it on the phone and I was a bit shook but I wanted to get an even closer look at this thing so I continued on. I get 15 yards away and that's when I realized I messed up because this thing tower's over me and it's roar was just something to behold. So I just stood there at 15 yards beholding what I am seeing because in most cases in nature animals are more scared of you vs them so I wasn't scared of it at first but I was just filled with pure dread I had never been more terrified in my life. My sister is yelling and yelling at me to get back to the tractor and leave before this thing gets real pissed off, as I am beholding it's absolute magnitude it bum rushes me, it starts to charge. The fear when I realized this creature was stupid fast and I mean it cleared 15 yards in the blink of an eye was absolutely insane so I did a quick oh no turned around and ran as fast as I could back to the tractor, I'm sprinting as fast as I possibly could back to what I thought was my saving grace, I turn around to take a peak as I hear these long strides and heavy thumps right on my heels and 5 feet to the side of me it's keeping pace and I had the feeling it could easily just reach out and grab me at any moment. I clear the couple hundred yards to the tractor in 1 leap I hopped in the tractor quickly trying to close the door on the tractor. I look out the tractor window to see it very quickly turn around and run back towards the corn field at what I imagine is full sprint, the absolute speed this gigantic being carried is something to behold. I almost felt sick because the way it ran I would explain as unnatural to any animal I have ever seen run or human for that matter in my entire life and I would describe it as morbid because it made me sick to my stomach just watching it run and then it vanished into the corn and I have not seen it since. The entire time I was running my sister could hear the entire altercation between I and the creature. I finished the field convinced what I saw wasn't real even though I have a video of what I saw. The next morning I went to my boss on the farm and everyone told me it was just a black bear. But later months after the interaction people were saying they saw the same thing cross the road or hoof it across a field it was never violent towards anyone but I just thought it was an absolutely wild event to take place and luckily I was able to escape from." https://sasquatchchronicles.com/sc-ep-985-creature-follows-farmer-home/

I continued on and I got 15 yards away.
And from 15 yards away I can see at 45 feet, this thing's full magnitude.
And it is just huge.
And it screamed at me.
I'm just like, I'm scared stiff.
I couldn't move it first.
And I'm just like, you know, watching its absolute magnitude.
Like when I say magnitude, it is huge.
So I'm staring at this thing
And then it screams again
And then it takes a step forward
And then it bum rushed me
Like it charged
And it was so fast
Like I couldn't move that quick in my life
I'm sure you couldn't move
And I've never seen an animal move that quick
Ever
It looked like somebody was
Bent over
And had their head in the window of the deer blind
And it either heard me or smelt me
and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that shocked me.
They don't make people that big.
The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach.
I've never seen anything moved like that in my life.
They were screaming at each other in gibberish.
It sounded like a language.
and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forward.
I know what a bear looks like, and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears.
What, Christ, you better get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That son of a bitch is about six foot nine, I don't know.
Do you see him now, sir?
Yes, I'm looking right in any. Uh-oh.
This is Nick from Vader, Washington, and you're listening to the best Bigfoot podcast out there.
Sasquatch Chronicles.
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Got a great show plan for you.
We'll be chatting with Jacob.
And Jacob comes to us from Minnesota.
That's where he was working on a farm.
And it happened around this time last year.
So September of 2022,
this incident happened to him.
He sent me the video.
When he was sitting in his tractor,
he saw this huge creature.
walk out from the cornfield, kind of walk along the cornfield,
and I'll post the video underneath this episode.
And when I first saw it, I was like, okay, that's not a bear and that's not a man.
The thing looked huge to me from his video.
And, you know, everyone always says,
why don't we have more videos of Sasquatch?
Everyone has an iPhone.
Everyone has an Android.
The problem with phones nowadays is they're great for close-up video pictures.
sort of thing. But when you try and capture something at a distance, they will kind of blur out on
you or pixel aid on you. But I was a static. He sent it to me. And a lot more happened than what
you see in the video. I'll kind of like Jacob go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd
like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Let's jump into it tonight.
I want to welcome Jacob to the show.
Jacob, thank you so much for being here.
Take us back to September of 2022.
Kind of what were you doing and walk us into what happened?
I was farming out here in Minnesota last year in September.
on a Friday and I remember I wanted to get this field done because if I got this field done
it mean I didn't have to come back on Saturday so I could have the weekend off so I guess it first
started when the plow broke down one of my discs came off and so I got out of the tractor you
know nothing nothing festive I suppose happened but I got out of the tractor and then I started
dismantling the broken pieces of the disc and then putting a new disc on it so I you know
drove it over to my pickup, and then I got underneath the plow,
and I just got this really weird feeling, like,
you know, like the feeling when you're getting stared at,
or something's watching you,
and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
And so I was really uneasy about it,
and I was on the phone with my older sister at the time,
and so, like, I was telling her how it just felt really off.
It didn't feel normal,
because I've changed the discs on the tractors hundreds of times,
and it just didn't, it didn't feel normal,
for the area that I was in because I've never had that feeling.
I've never, you know, felt any sort of uneasiness being out there alone.
And so I got back in the tractor just chatting away with my sister.
And I was across the field.
So to the west end of me, there was a soybean field.
There's some trees there.
And then on the east side of me, there's a corn field.
And then on the north and south end, there's another wheat field.
And then there's another soybean field.
and so I'm out where there's like literally nobody.
And so I'm on the phone with my sister and I had really shoddy service at the time.
But then it started to clear up as, you know, I got to certain parts of the field.
Well, I'm talking with her and I was saying to her, I think the Anderson's cows got out again because I'm looking over at this cornfield.
And I can see something in like peeking out of the corn.
And so I told her and she's like, well, you better go put them back in, you know, help out the Andersons.
And so I'm driving my tractor over there.
And these are, you know, the cows are kind of easy to spook.
So I didn't want to, you know, drive this big tractor.
And for reference, the tractor is a 12-tire tractor, big case.
So, you know, I didn't want to drive it over there and have it spook because it's not a normal tractor.
So I get out of the tractor about 300 yards away, 250 yards.
And so I'm walking over to the cornfield.
And I get about, I want to say, like, 100.
yards away, 150 yards when I took that video that I sent to you, because my sister was telling me that
I should get a video of this cow, you know, in case my boss didn't believe me because, you know,
a dilly dally and what have you. So I take this video and the one that I sent you was the better
video when after I realized it wasn't what I thought it was. So I'm walking over there and then
this alleged cow that I saw stood up on two legs.
Like it just stood straight up.
And I immediately stopped and I was puzzled because, well, for one,
cows don't stand up on two legs.
I've been, you know, around cows my entire life, milk and cows.
And never seen one do that.
So that'd be a first.
And so my next thought was, is this thing is stupid big.
Like it is huge.
The cornfield's about seven feet, eight feet tall.
And this thing is towering two feet a good foot and a half above this corn.
And, you know, me being me, I'm standing at six, five feet tall.
You know, I'm a bigger person.
And this thing is just huge from 150 yards away.
And so I thought it was a bear at first because there's bears out in Minnesota, but then, you know, the next thought hit me.
There's no such thing.
At least I haven't heard of and I could be very wrong, but show me a nine foot tall black bear.
I've seen black bears when I was hunting out in Oregon.
I've seen them up in Tennessee.
You know, I've been really close to them and they're not that big.
If anything, I'm taller than a black bear.
If they're standing on their two hind legs.
And so curiosity got the best of me.
And I'm talking to my sister this entire time and I'm like telling her what I'm seeing.
And she's like, oh, it must be a black bear.
It must be a black bear.
You know, they have black bears out there and what have you.
So I continue to encroach it closer.
And if it is a black bear, you know,
like I said, I've been around them.
So I'm not, I'm not scared of black bears at all.
You can pretty much just clap and they run away unless, you know, it's a mama bear.
But so I continue on and I get about 50 yards away.
And this thing is like, like more things are coming into detail, right?
I can tell this thing is huge.
It's got wide shoulders.
It is clearly not a bear.
It was covered in hair, top to bottom.
And it was just huge.
And so I see it, it's staring.
at me. And my sister's yelling at me the entire time. She's like, you're way too close. You need to
go back to the tractor. Just forget about it. You know, don't go any closer. And so I continued on,
you know, slowly moving forward. And I got 30 yards away. And then like this thing like came out of
the corn even more so I could see it in full view. And I was just struck in awe. And then I made a
joke to my sister and I'm like, I'm going to touch it. And she's figuring out, she's freaking out
at this point. She's like, get away from there. You need to run. You need to get back to the tractor.
You need to like, you need to go. And I was like, no, I'm going to touch it. And so I continued on
and I got 15 yards away. And from 15 yards away, I can see at 45 feet, this thing's full
magnitude and it is just huge and it screamed at me like the i've heard on your show before like
the sierra sounds or um i heard one not like just the other day um i believe you called it the
michigan scream and it was it was identical to the michigan scream i don't know if that rings
a bell to you but that's what you called it in the podcast i heard that and i was like that's
identical to what i heard in this encounter and it it it freaked me
out. My sister heard it over the phone. Like it was so loud. Like, it felt like my rib cage was rattling.
Like, have you ever rattled antlers together before for like Colin and deer?
I haven't personally, but I know exactly what you mean.
Yeah. So like when you're rattling those, you can like, it's kind of like, you know, bones
hitting each other. Like, that's what my insights felt like it was, it was absolutely wild. And so
My sister is like literally screaming at me like get away, get away, get away.
You need to go.
You need to go right now.
And I'm just like, I'm scared stiff.
I couldn't move it first.
And I'm just like, you know, watching its absolute magnitude.
Like when I say magnitude, it is huge.
And so I'm staring at this thing.
And then it screams again.
And she's yelling at me, you need to go.
And then it takes a step forward.
And then it bum rushed me, like it charged.
And it was so fast.
Like I couldn't move that quick in my life.
I'm sure you couldn't move.
And I've never seen an animal move that quick, ever.
I've seen, you know, bears run away.
I've seen deer.
I've seen elk run and they're really quick.
Antelope are fast as hell.
But this thing is fast.
It almost like, like it was so quick, like you almost couldn't even catch it with your eye.
like it like phased from where it was standing to like right in front of me and as it was it first
started like charging me I turned around and I got spooked so I ran back to the tractor so I'm
trying to run the 300 yards back to the tractor and the entire time this thing is like on my heels
it is keeping up just fine its arms were so long that it could have grabbed me I don't know why
it didn't but it definitely could have and so I get back to the track
and in like the meantime while I was running I did look to the side of me because I heard it
and I looked over and it's just it's right there like it is keeping pace so I got a stupid good
look at it and it really freaked me out so I got back to the tractor and I I kid you not I was
faster than you saying Bolter that's what it felt like running for my life but I get back to
the tractor I one stepped like just hopped right into the cab of the tractor slam the door shut
and I turned around to look behind me of where I was running from,
and this thing's going the completely opposite direction now,
just zooming across the field right back into that cornfield,
and just watching it move from the tractor back into the cornfield,
like from the distance between the tractor and the cornfield,
I almost wanted to throw up like it was the best way I could describe it is morbid and ungodly.
It's unnatural.
it was extremely freaky and my sister was screaming at me the entire time calling me stupid
and dumb for even like going near this thing and so um yeah that's that's pretty much it
and then the rest of the night i just finished plowing the field keeping a watchful eye you know and
it's terrifying man very scary i know you'd mention the uh the michigan scream that's actually from
Jim Sherman, you can go to YouTube and check them out under Lord Crypted.
But this is a scream that, for the audience, this is a scream that Jacob is referencing.
And for the audience, Jacob, would you kind of describe what you saw?
Yeah, absolutely.
So like I said, it was probably about eight and a half, nine feet tall, stupid huge.
its shoulders were about four foot wide.
It had a very conical kind of head.
Its face looked extremely gray.
Like at first I thought it was, you know, like I was telling you off the phone,
I thought it was a windigo at first because that's what I grew up hearing, you know,
out here in Minnesota.
And where I'm at is about there's a place called Windigo Lake.
It's about 100 miles away from where I'm at.
And so at first I just thought it was a windigo like being that close to.
it was like white like ivory white almost but kind of more grayish so I thought it was like bone
but as I got closer I realized that it was a really dark gray kind of leathery looking
its hands were massive so at six foot five my hands are about from palm to the tip of my middle
finger about nine inches and this thing had over a foot long hands like they were they were huge
and its biceps were like stupid massive.
I guess the best way I could put it was just imagine like someone who's extremely
jacked, someone who works out a whole bunch.
It was just impressive, you know, breathtaking to see something of that magnitude
with such defined muscles that can move that quick.
It was jet black.
It had extremely long hair or fur.
I'm not quite sure the differences of hair or fur,
but I'd call it more hair than fur because fur is kind of shorter.
It didn't have claws.
It looked like human hands.
Its eyes were piercing red, like very red, like almost glowing.
Yeah, like I said, it had a conical head.
I didn't get a really good look at its lower half.
I was more paying attention to its eyes because like I said,
we were just staring at each other in the eyes.
And it was,
it was extremely unnerving for something just to stand there.
You know,
so I guess that's my description of it.
Yeah,
the scary part is it bluff charged you.
And you know,
gorillas,
I'm not comparing Sasquatch to gorillas,
but guerrillas will do that.
It's a form of defense if they're threatened.
They will 99% of the time when a gorilla
charges you, it's a fake charge. It's an aggressive act towards a threat to give time for other
family members to get away or seek safety. And I often wonder if that's why Sasquatch does that,
because that will get your attention really quick and that will make you want to go away for sure.
When you were looking at this saying, would you say it looked more human or would you say it looked more
animal?
I definitely wouldn't say it's human.
I mean, with the nose that it had in the eyes and the mouth, I suppose you could
technically consider it more human-like.
I mean, it looks more like an ape than a human.
But I wouldn't classify it as a monkey by any means.
I guess the best way I could describe it was it was like a creature.
I know it sounds dumb, but.
like monster.
Like it's nothing like I've ever seen in my entire life.
You know,
growing up in the woods of Oregon,
the Pacific Northwest,
where,
you know,
Bigfoot's known for.
You know,
I've never seen anything like that.
And to be honest with it,
I thought it was a fairy tale.
But I would not say it's human by,
by any means that I've heard the theories of Nephilim or,
um,
there was another one the,
I can't remember the name of it,
but it was the two brothers.
I think, and one of them lived in the woods.
But anyway, I would not say it's human by any means.
The other thing I was curious about, you'd made a comment about the eyes were almost glowing red.
And, you know, a lot of times I'll ask hunters, because they'll say that the eyes were glowing.
And it's almost kind of insulting to ask a hunter.
You sure it was an eye shine that you saw.
But, you know, in this situation, it's kind of the middle of the day,
or the day's kind of ending, but it's still bright out.
And you had seen these red glowing eyes.
I mean, what do you make of that?
Right, absolutely.
And like I said previously, this whole thing was unnatural.
So I guess growing up, I don't know if you're familiar with cougars or not,
but growing up, we were always told that, you know, if you're out at night and you see like
amber or red eyeshine, it's a cougar.
And so going back, I've seen red eyeshine in the woods before and I always thought it was a cougar.
Well, I've seen cougars and I've seen the amber eye shine.
I've seen like it's not extremely dark red or even a bright red.
It's just like a red hue to amber really is the best way I could describe it.
But cougars give off that red eye shine.
And to my knowledge, it's the only animal that does.
That's what I was told.
I'm not sure if that's 100% fact.
I could be very wrong.
But so growing up, I guess it wouldn't be unnatural in my opinion.
But at this hour, it's, you know, it looks very light in the video.
But like I said, it was like an hour before dusk.
So it's about, you know, time to get, it's about to get dark within the next hour.
And for how long it took me to get from the tractor over to that cornfield because I was, I was approaching real slow.
It started to get more and more dark.
and as it got dark, its eyes started to like really, really pop.
So I was trying to figure out like where,
where this eye shine can be coming from.
But I noticed as I was running when I looked over,
it's not eye shine.
Like they just seemed to glow.
That's the best way I could describe it.
Like they were literally glowing from what I saw.
It was wild.
Yeah, beyond wild.
and I kind of have a theory on the way they chase you,
but I wanted to ask you,
when it was chasing you,
was it from behind or was it chasing you from the side?
It was pacing me from the side.
It was about five feet away.
So I've got an arm span of almost four feet from my one arm,
or not four feet, about three and a half.
And so I'd say it was if I would have stuck my arm out
it was probably about three quarters to about half my arm length away.
And it was like directly to the side of me.
Like I turned my head to the right and it's right there.
It wasn't behind me.
At first when I turned around,
I'm sure it was right behind me.
But as I was running like I could hear it.
And I looked over to where that sound was coming from and it was it was right there.
What do you think set this thing off?
Just you walking up on it?
I don't know if it was because I was walking up on it.
or like I said, I was on the phone with my sister the entire time.
And so I was, you know, conversating back with her, which sounds stupid being, you know, growing up hunting, you want to stay quiet.
But like I was describing to her the entire time what I was looking at, what was happening, what was going on.
And so I don't know, maybe me trying to, maybe it thought I was trying to communicate with it.
maybe it didn't like my voice.
I don't, maybe I was being too loud.
I'm not quite sure.
Maybe I just got too close.
I know that you don't know and I don't know, but you were there.
I'm curious, why do you think it didn't attack you?
That's what I'm, I really, I think about that a lot, being a year now.
I've thought about it dang near every day because my Native American friends, they said that
they always attack.
If you see one and you go near one,
you're probably going to get promoted to missing persons,
is what they said.
And then my uncle said that I'm lucky to be alive
because the dogmen attack also if you get too close.
But I don't know.
I know I was running like a scared animal,
for sure, running away from it.
So maybe it didn't think I was going to harm it.
Yeah, I don't think it was a dog man based on
your description. From reading your email, it didn't have a snout. No, it did not have a snout.
Yeah, I don't think it was a dog man. I wanted to ask you, had other people on the farm seen
this creature? So I live in Tennessee now. I come up every year to Minnesota. I used to live up here,
but I come up every year to Minnesota to help out with harvest season because I'm the only other guy
on the farm who can run every piece of equipment.
So they call me a huge help.
So they bring me up from Tennessee for a couple months every year to do all this.
So I've been away for about a year since the end of harvest.
So I've been away for about 10 months because I'm in the middle of this harvest.
But so I went into the gas station the other day.
And like I said, I just got back.
And I've been thinking about it.
Like am I the only one who saw this thing?
There's clearly like, I thought.
I thought I was going insane because I'm the only one who was out there, the only one who saw it.
But I have a video of it, so I know for a hundred percent effect, something was there.
So I'm not, I'm not totally crazy.
And my sister heard the scream as well.
But I walked into the gas station the other day to grab some drinks before work that day.
And I overheard the other farmers just sitting around, you know, having coffee.
They do that.
And the little gas stations and the small towns, you know, it's just what they do.
and I heard them talking about this weird creature.
They were discussing, do you think it's going to come out again?
And so I walked over there and, you know, getting coffee and whatnot, just listening in an ear.
And they all said that they saw it from across the field.
So no one ever got close to it, but they saw, and it would always come out at the cornfields.
So it wouldn't like come out into the open, but it'd be near the cornfields.
And so what I heard was, and I didn't want to, you know, be that weird creature.
crazy guy because I like my job, you know, saying what I saw, but I just was overhearing and
eavesdropping, if you will. And they were saying that a couple of them were saying that they were
a couple hundred yards from it. Some of their guys said he was 100 yards from it. And it was
just towering over the cornfield. And no one knew what it was. No one, no one called the cops.
It never caused any damage to my knowledge. But they were saying, do you think this thing's going
to come out again this harvest. And so that's, that is all I've heard from the town,
um, except I talked to my boss the other day and I was like, you know, I've got a really serious
question. You're going to laugh at me. And, you know, we talked about it when it happened because I
showed him the video the next day. I was like, do you believe in like dogmen, windigo's
Sasquatch? And he was saying, oh yeah. Oh yeah. And at first I was like, okay, he's, you know,
he said it in such a joking manner. I thought he was, he was messing with me. And I'm like, no,
seriously like I want your genuine opinion and he's like no you you clearly saw something last
year he's like I know I made fun of you for it but after re-looking at the video you sent me there's
no way that thing is a bear like I've seen bear out here it's not a bear they're not that big and I was
like oh okay cool you know and so today actually we went back to that field uh to get all the crops out
of it and on the CB the entire time my boss is like oh oh haven't seen a big foot yet you know
and I'd leave to go dump at the grain bin come back.
Still haven't seen the Bigfoot.
So they're still razzing me about it.
But some of the people who work around here don't believe it was a bear.
They think there's something else out there, but no one knows exactly what.
Kind of a dumb question, because I don't think I would have done this, but I'll ask it anyway.
After this encounter, did you go around and see if there's any tracks that were left behind?
No, I was I did not get out of the tractor. I was I was so scared. I just thought I'm gonna I'm just gonna get this field done. I was almost done with it and I'm just gonna get the last four acres of this field done. Walk over to my pickup get in there and just immediately leave like I didn't want to be there anymore but I had a job to do so you know I'm not just gonna ditch the job and lose my job. So I just finished plowing the field and then I
I immediately went home.
I know you've gone back and you're there now,
but does it worry you at all going back?
I wouldn't say going back to the specific field where it happened really worries me.
There's been a couple other things that have happened,
like the night after, like the same night that that incident happened when I went home.
I swear the thing followed me home because there was some things that happened at the house
and then furthermore into the end of the month.
But I wouldn't say going back to the field really worries me
because if I go back to the field,
I'm going to be in some sort of vehicle.
This year, just in case, because last year I was extremely unprepared.
Like I said, I've never felt unsafe on the farm.
But this year, I'm carrying a sidearm with me
just in case things go awry, you know,
want something to protect myself.
And I wouldn't want to shoot, I just want to preface.
I wouldn't want to shoot a big foot on purpose because they're such a wild creature.
I don't think they should just be killed off for the hell of it.
But, you know, if something did happen and it got aggressive, I'm carrying a sidearm now,
which gives me some peace of mind, I suppose.
But after hearing some accounts, I don't think a pistol is really going to do much.
Yeah, I don't think it's a bad idea to have a firearm.
If nothing more than to fire off a couple rounds in the air,
it's kind of the universal language.
I think everyone and everything kind of understands that.
You had made a comment, it had followed you home.
I know you were kind of living on the farm in that region right there,
kind of in a home.
What makes you think it followed you home?
So I can't 100% prove that it did follow me.
There was just some very odd things that happened after this encounter.
Um, like you could ask any one of my friends, my really close friends, because I was complaining the entire time.
I was like, I swear I'm haunted. Um, all sorts of weird stuff was happening. And I was just, you know, scared shitless. Oh, am I allowed to cuss?
Yeah. I just try and bleep out the upward. Oh, okay. All right. Sorry, I'll try not to. But, um, I was, I was so scared that, uh, the one night, I swear something was either outside my house or in my home.
to where I just grabbed my rifle, shut my door, barricaded the door,
and then, you know, went about my business and slept with the lights on.
So I lived about 20, 25 minutes, 30 minutes away from this field.
Where my house is at, behind my house, there is nothing but farm fields.
And then there's another house across the street from me, but right behind my house,
you could literally go from field hopping and get right to my house.
So that's what I did to get home.
So I got home and I was still really jittery about the whole situation.
And by the time I got done with plowing the field and putting things away and getting things where they wanted to, it was about 11 o'clock at night.
So I get home and then I walked through the front door.
And I was also in the process of moving.
So like my house is really empty.
I was in the process of moving down to Tennessee.
And so I was getting everything out of the house.
You know, I was there for pretty much until the end of harvest.
And then I closed out the apartment because that's when my lease agreement ended.
But so basically the only thing that's in my apartment is a refrigerator and oven and my bed pretty much.
And then, you know, some small things here and there like dishes and such.
But there's like no couches, no nothing.
There's no cover for things.
It's just open rooms.
And, uh,
So I got home and I was so tired that I just wanted to go upstairs and go right to bed.
So to give you a description of like the house and the way it's laid out so you kind of understand what happened a little bit more.
If you walk through the front door, there's a door immediately to your right and it's the garage.
And then if you go further down the hallway, there's a staircase that goes down into the basement.
And then if you go like a foot further than that staircase that goes down, it comes up.
into the living room area and there's a kitchen.
And so it's like the dining room kitchen,
living room area all on the same floor.
And then there's another staircase in the middle of that room that goes up
towards where my bedroom was.
So it's kind of a weird layout,
but just so you understand what I mean and why I did certain things.
So I got up to my bed.
I changed my clothes.
Well, actually, I took a shower first.
And I was just,
I was in the shower,
just, you know, mind in my own business.
And like, I swear I heard something knock outside my house.
And I was like, what the hell?
Maybe someone's at my door.
So I finished up my shower.
You know, I got dressed, go all the way downstairs.
And it's about like 1130 at this time.
And I looked through like the peephole because I don't ever open up the door after some things that happened in the past.
But I don't ever just open the door right away.
I always look to the peephole.
and if there's nothing there, I'm not going to open up the door.
But I did this time.
So I opened up the door and I looked around.
There's nobody.
And I was like, all right, I see my truck.
You know, I see my neighbor's house, whatever.
So I shut the door, locked the door back up.
Make sure the garage store is locked because I was going to go to bed.
I walked back upstairs.
And I made sure that the glass door, because there's a deck in the living room area.
So there's a glass sliding door that goes out into this deck where you can pretty much just look at the, the, the,
the fields behind the house, pretty much.
So I shut the door, or I made sure it was shut.
It was already shut.
I locked it.
I know for a fact, I locked it.
I walked back up to my room.
I shut my door.
I locked my bedroom door.
And then, you know, I turned off my light, climbed in the bed, and I started to go
to sleep.
And that night, I was, I was pretty spooked still from the encounter.
So I had my sidearm sitting on the nightstand.
And so I woke up, and I want to say it was about one o'clock.
I woke up to like this super weird banging.
Like I've never heard anything like it on my house before.
Like it just sounded like someone was banging on the side of my house.
And so I was like, what the hell?
And then I kid you not, I swear I heard my sliding glass door open.
And so after, you know, talking with my friends after the encounter while I was in the tractor,
they were saying that like windigos do really weird stuff and I just want to preference again I swear it was a wind ago the first time I saw it and so like for the first I want to say month or two months or a couple months on after the encounter I just told everybody it was a windigo that's what I saw that's what I think it is you know I don't I don't know any way else to describe it so I get up I turn my light on and then I grab my sidearm because I didn't know what was going on and I swear
something just opened up my back door. And so I open up my door and you can see the glass door,
the glass sliding door from the top of the stairs where my bedroom is. So I like peek open the door
and it's pitch black out there. I couldn't see because all my lights are off and there's no lights
behind the house to really shine in. And so I looked down and I had my flashlight and I just
shined it over at the door and the doors cracked open. And so I was like, okay, I think someone just
broke into my house. And so I'm like, you know, looking around corners. I'm checking rooms.
I'm clearing the rooms. It sounds so stupid, but that's what I was doing. I had my, you know,
sidearm in front of me with the flashlight. And I'm, I'm clearing the house. And I get down to the
main hallway where you can go out the front door. And I'm standing at the, the top of the
stairs down towards the basement. And I just hear like, like that scream again. And it's echoing
through my house.
And I was like, okay, you know what?
I straight up like went, absolutely not.
I walked back up the stairs.
I widened the glass door.
Like I opened it completely fully.
Just so whatever the hell is in here can get the hell out.
And I went back up to my room.
I shut my door.
I locked the door.
I grabbed my dresser.
I put it in front of the wall or in front of the door.
Like I barricaded myself in my room.
I put my dresser in front of or in front of the door.
And then I put my like a wardrobe or an arbdwar, whatever you want to call it in front of the dresser,
just tried to barricade myself in as best as I could.
And then I just hunkered down on my bed, staring at the door the entire time.
And the entire time this is going on, I'm like hearing this this howl screech from the basement.
And so like, I'm freaking out.
I call up my buddy.
And I'm like, dude, I'm freaking out.
I think I'm going insane.
I think whatever the hell I saw.
And, you know, they're all razzing me.
he was with some other friends of mine and they're all razzing me they're like oh dude you know
you're you're you're you're just freaking out over nothing he's like I know you saw something in
the field but it didn't follow you home and I'm like I swear there's something in my house
and so come the next morning sunlight finally comes out I didn't sleep all night I just I just sat
there with my rifle pointed at the door the entire night like I was so scared that that's
just that's the only way I felt safe was being on the opposite side of the room in the
corner on my bed, you know. And so light comes out, I feel confident to like go, go check around the
house and get out of my room. So like I unbarricaded my door. And, you know, I'm looking around the
house again and I don't see nothing. The door is closed, by the way. Like by the time I get up out of
my room, the glass door is closed. And so I was like, okay, I think it left. I didn't hear any
footsteps. I didn't hear any
creaking of boards. I didn't hear
any of that stuff. Just this
scream. And the scream probably went on for
about like, I don't know, 30 minutes
to an hour. But it
sounded like it would stop to take
breaths, you know, but it would go on
for a very long time, minutes.
And so I like, check
the house. I worked up the courage
to go in the basement. I go
in the basement. You know, I look around the
corner of the hallway that goes into the
basement into the wide open living area.
I don't see anything.
I don't smell anything.
I don't, you know, there's like, there's no indication that anyone's been here.
Like the carpet wasn't pressed down that I noticed the best of my ability.
Like it didn't look like someone had recently walked on it.
But then again, it had hours from where I was at a time to whenever the hell it left,
carpet airs out.
So anyway, moving on.
So I spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with friends and, you know, just talking to
people researching a whole bunch on Wendigo's because like I said, I thought that's what it was.
And so then fast forward about a week.
There was there was nothing in between that week.
And I started to feel a little bit better about it like, okay, maybe it was just, you know, in my head, I wasn't dreaming.
It was definitely happening.
But nothing happened for about a week.
So I was feeling a lot better about it.
Well, in the moving process, I needed to help cleaning up my, this is a three bedroom place.
there's a bedroom in the basement and then two upstairs.
It's a relatively big house.
And so I asked my cousin if he'd come over from Wisconsin and then stay for a week,
you know, help me clean up the apartment.
I'd take him to dinner.
We'd go do some fun stuff here.
And, you know, just help me clean up the place because, you know, there's a lot of cleaning
that has to be done.
I'm sure you're well aware of when you leave a place that you're renting.
And so we finally get done cleaning the place.
And so the only thing pretty much left in the end,
entire house is my bed. So like if you walk downstairs, everything is gone. It's like a literally
an empty house except for this mattress that's on the floor. And so we're sitting on the bed and the,
my bedroom door was wide open and I think I was scrolling through TikTok or Instagram at the time. I was
on my phone and I heard something like walk up the stairs and a door open. Like one of the doors got
opened in the house and then something is like slowly extremely slow walking up the stairs like
I can hear each individual board creek and I look to my cousin and he goes what what the hell is coming
up the stairs and I was like I have no idea I was like just just be quiet like whatever it is
we're going to go look at it but like just be quiet like there should be no one in this house
besides you and I no one else has a key to this place and I don't know if the front of the
door was locked. I didn't even look. But anyway, so I get up and he's like, what do we do? What do we do? And I was like, just, just be quiet. So I grabbed my sidearm. You know, I loaded it really
slowly so I could try to be quiet because, you know, they make a loud click sound if you rack them too quick. And I like
start slowly going down the stairs to where I'm not making any noise. And it sounds like it's coming up from the
basement. Now, I want to be, I'm going to be totally honest with you. I didn't check the whole basement because I'm
kind of a was there's a closet down there that goes down it goes in about six feet and then it's
about two foot hall two foot tall crawl space that loops around a corner and it opens up into like
pretty much a living room like it's it's a huge underground room where the sump pump is but it never
like overfilled or leaked or anything but it's like this big open room generally we used it for
storage, but it's about two feet tall, maybe three feet. I'm not quite sure. I was able to crawl
down there if that gives you any sort of a gist on height wise. But I looked, I like kind of cracked
the closet door open and like took a little peek inside when I did clear the house a week prior.
And I just thought to myself, you know what? No, I'm not, I'm not crawling down and looking
around the corner to see if anything's in there. I don't, I don't care. I don't want to know.
So I just shut the closet door.
So something could have been in there.
I don't know.
So we're hearing these steps up the stairs.
And I'm like going.
So like we're hearing the steps from the basement and they're parallel to each other.
The stairs are from the living room area down into the hallway to get out the front door.
And we're going down and all of a sudden they just stop.
And then it was like someone ran or like quick moving.
I suppose, like it just ran right back down in the basement.
And then my cousin looks at me and he said, you know, I think we should leave.
And I was like, you know, that's not a bad idea.
So we left the house.
And again, like in case someone was down there or what have you, I just left the screen door open in the back again, the glass lighting door.
So fast forward like a month, I'm getting ready to leave, a harvest season.
is over. I was going to be here for like another five days. And so I got a call from a friend
and they asked if I could come up to Bimiji, Minnesota, like chop some trees down for them. And I was
like, oh, absolutely. So I drove up to Bimiji the next day and they have this like a garage loft.
So it's like it's a detached garage, but it's its own separate apartment from the rest of the house.
And so I'm out in Bimigi and I, you know, I'm getting these trees down. And that,
And eventually I go inside, shower, get ready for the night because I was working to, you know, pretty much sundown.
And so, you know, I go up to this loft.
I, you know, put my bag on the bed and I'm getting changed.
And it was so hot up there that I had the window open because it was cold outside.
And I turned the thermostat down.
And so I like open up the window so it could get, you know, cool off inside.
And I'm laying in the bed.
And I'm laying there reading my Bible.
And I just like hear like chatter.
like I don't know who it did I've heard it on your show before but it's like that
they're they're bantering back and forth like that chatter you know what I mean like it
sounds like it's like gibberish like if someone could speak braille that's what it sounds like
and I was I was so freaked out I called up my buddy Cody and I was like hey Cody I'm kind of
spooked I was so scared I was like can you just like be on the phone with me man
for the rest of the night like in case something does happen I'm I'm
I just don't want to be alone up here.
And I didn't want to go inside to where my friends were.
I don't know why,
but I just didn't feel comfortable going inside.
And I didn't want to leave this loft area.
And I knew there were sleep, so I didn't want to wake him up.
And I knew Cody was awake.
So I called up Cody and I was like, can you just like, can you hear it?
And he's like, I hear it like what's going on.
And I'm like, I have no idea.
I'm freaking out.
Like, he's like, you don't get spooked.
What is it?
And I'm like, I don't know.
So I eventually fell asleep a couple hours later.
when the chattering stopped.
And that was the last of that encounter.
So that's what I meant by like weird things were happening.
I thought something followed me home.
And then I turned in the apartment or the house key and never went back.
I haven't been back there to that place since.
I don't know if there was something in there.
Quite frankly, I don't care.
But that's what I meant by there.
It could have followed me home.
Maybe I'm delusional.
I have no idea.
Yeah.
I don't think that you're delusional at all.
I think that they do follow people back.
I've heard many reports of them doing this.
I'm always leery when people are like, you know, it followed me home.
And I'll ask them, well, how far is your home?
And they'll stay 300 miles away.
But in this situation, I mean, you're in a home very close to the farm.
And I could see something like this happening.
You know, do you ever think, God, I need to get in.
to a different line of work?
I mean, like I said before,
I've got a job to do, you know,
and I've been working for farms for forever now.
I grew up in Tillamook, Oregon.
If you've ever been out there, there's hundreds of farms,
you know, and I've worked on over half of them
helping out doing this, that, and the other.
Farming's kind of like one of my passions.
I'd say, like, I'm not super terribly into it.
Like, I'm not going to come home and play farm simulator.
after working all day, you know.
But it is something I do enjoy.
You know, I like the concept of harvest and, you know,
producing your own food or this, that, or the other.
You know, I like planting things.
I like watching them grow, you know.
This is like the fruits of your labor, if you will.
And I have done other work right now.
I know I said I'm a farmer and I am,
but currently I'm just doing harvest for this year and probably next year.
but I'm only here for about two months, two or three months depending on how long harvest takes.
So I'm actually a computer technician at this very time.
But generally I do like odd jobs throughout the year.
So like when it snows, I plow snow.
I was a contractor for two or three years up here and doing, I was snow plowing, farming, and contracting all at the same time.
I generally keep pretty busy.
So, you know, I have done other lines.
of work, but yeah, I guess I don't know why I go back, but, you know, these guys have always been
extremely good to me. So when I got the call, hey, you want to come back up here and farm,
hopefully you don't see Bigfoot again. That's what he said. He's like, hey, we need your help.
You want to come back up here. Hopefully you don't see whatever the hell you saw again.
Can you come up? And so, you know, I agreed. They offered me a good sum per hour.
So I was like, yeah, absolutely. So, you know, I came back up.
Yeah, I understand where you're coming from.
I can appreciate the work ethic.
You know, if I was hiring, I would definitely hire you.
You know, but there is a lot of reports of them following people back.
And, you know, I thought the encounter was scary enough.
But to go home and have it, you know, to hear the same scream and, you know, whatever was going on in that home, I think would be more terrifying.
You know, Jacob, I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is?
and there's no wrong answer because no one knows,
but I'm very curious because you've got an up-close personal encounter.
What do you think that these things are?
I've been thinking about this a lot, actually, since listening to your podcast.
And I do not think it's human by any means.
I think it's definitely a creature.
I think it's a blood and flesh animal.
If you were to injure it, definitely bleed.
I don't know.
know exactly how to describe it.
The way it runs is, like I said, ungodly and morbid.
It's unnatural.
It's huge.
Like the only other animal that I'm familiar with that can stand even close to as tall as
that, actually a little bit taller, is a polar bear.
And this thing's definitely not a polar bear.
But to see something that big up close, like I've seen grizzlies up close out there in
Montana.
And I've never felt the sense of dread that I did from this thing.
And so I guess the best way to describe what I think Sasquatch is, which is kind of
interesting because growing up in Oregon, you know, you're told about Bigfoot or Sasquatch
and you think Bigfoot, that's singular.
So there's just one of these things out there, meandering about by its lonesome when after
listening to your podcast, I realize there's, there's a hell a lot of them.
Like, there is a lot more than just one meandering about.
But I'd say it's a creature of some sort that we just haven't found yet, the apex
predator of the forest, if you will.
Yeah, they certainly are.
They certainly are the apex predator and they run the show.
And, you know, I don't know that I would have gone back.
I think you have more courage than I do.
I think I would have quit.
But you do go back every year.
I mean, you're there now, aren't you?
I'm currently here.
I'm staying at a friend of mine's house while I'm here for harvest.
So I'll be in that field tomorrow.
Yeah, I got a feeling that creature lives in that general area.
Will you keep me up to date?
Let me know if anything else happens.
Oh, absolutely.
I reckon it'll probably be a little bit later in the season when I start plowing.
because like during main harvest there's multiple trucks that go through there's all the tractors and stuff like that which to my knowledge i don't think
you know animals don't generally come out if there's a lot of traffic um so i'd reckon it'd probably be later in the year
but if anything further happens i'll definitely try to get a better picture of it and i'll definitely let you know
yeah and for the audience i will post uh jacob's video underneath this episode so you can check it out and i'm
trying to clean it up, Jacob. I'm trying to, you know, trying to zoom in, trying to get a better
view of what you saw. Because I know the video you took, you're about 150 yards away, and you
really thought I was this enormous cow at first. But be careful out there, man. And, you know,
stay in touch. Let me know if anything else happens. And I really appreciate you taking the time
to come on. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you for having me.
And that's it for tonight, everyone remember if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Until next time, everyone, have a great Labor Day weekend.
