Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1004 A Tall White Shaggy Bigfoot
Episode Date: November 5, 2023Luanna writes "About October 1983-84, It was a Friday evening, sister Lisa, her fiance Randy & myself went out, we lived in a small town. Nothing to do. So the normal thing to do was ride the back... roads & have our beer. We went down Pebawma road, it was a road with no houses & hardly ever traveled. We had to stop for a pee stop, Randy went into the woods on drivers side, Lisa and I went behind the pickup on passenger side. We saw a shadow in front of truck, we both thought it was Randy, we looked up….& was shocked-scared shitless. It was a tall white shaggy Bigfoot walking on an angle across the road. We pulled our pants up & ran in the truck, Randy came running to truck. We all were shocked asking WTH was that?? We could not get out of there fast enough. This thing was like at least 7-8ft tall. Not in a hurry. Walked in front of truck with the head lights on, did not seem startled or afraid of us. It looked white with dirty shaggy clumpy hair its arms were very long & hung forward. This has been over 39 years ago, & to this day the 3 of us know exactly what we saw & swear to it. We have all gotten teased about it when telling our story. But I- we know they (Bigfoot) really are out there. I should also say I am from a family of 12 & lived on 45 acre farm, been in the woods my entire life & have never seen anything like this before or never again. This took place in Walkerville Michigan over by Pebawma Lake. Mike writes "I had a childhood experience when I was 8 at a dude ranch in Nebraska. It was at night and probably 60' away from me. It was a full moon and lots of stars over the summer. I did not see its face as all I saw was a silhouette. The encounter was for approx 2 maybe 3 minutes. A day before my encounter one of the girls ran into to boys section scared as hell. Said she saw an ugly black face in the bathroom window. The next morning we checked out that side of the building (one side for the boys the other side for the girls). I was only 8 at the time but the window seemed pretty high off the ground. There were handprints which were large and strange as far as thumb location. A couple other things happened at the dude ranch. Nothing truly bizarre but interesting. The horses were always jumping the gate for some reason. When I saw it I was asleep and just woke up feeling like I was being watched. Stood up, looked and I saw it. At first I thought it was a counselor trying to scare us but then I noticed the arm length, way too long for a human. Then I noticed hair all over the body. As I watched it started swaying which was real eerie. After 2-3 minutes it just walked down the hill to a real overgrown holler. I was surrounded by other kids and was unable to react, yell or anything. I know you are busy as hell but if you are at all interested would like to talk with you. Decades later I live in Georgia and have had some strange things happen. During the day I was just glancing in the woods and swore I saw two black legs. It was really thick vegetation as it was about two months ago. It was walking one direction then stopped and the legs turned towards me. I think it realized "oh shit, I've been seen". It took off so fast it was a blur. Twice we have loud smacks against the house. A week ago both our TV'S, me and my sons just went out. No power loss, just both TV'S at the same moment turned off. I called a cop one night and told him I saw a partial look of a guy in a gunney suit. Didn't want him to think I was nuts. He suggested a game cam. He looked around but being night saw nothing. Another two times we heard what sounded like someone beating their arms against their chest but it was really loud. You have a damn good show. If interested drop me a note some time. Would be willing to talk about it. Otherwise thanks for hearing me out. Have a good one.

It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind
and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up
and that shocked me.
They don't make people that big.
The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach.
I've never seen anything moves like that in my life.
They were screaming at each other in gibberish.
It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forward.
I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears.
What are you reporting?
Jesus Christ, you bet.
Everybody.
Care, see them.
Hello.
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That's sort of a bitch is about six foot nine.
I don't know.
Do you see him now, sir?
Yes, I'm looking right at him.
Uh-uh.
This is Brian from Ohio.
Oh, H.
Ohio!
And you're listening to...
The Saguatchwaguen't in the whole universe.
Sasquatch podcast.
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Got a great show plan for you.
we'll be chatting with Luanna.
And back in the early 80s,
Luana had an encounter with the creature in Michigan.
She describes it as a tall, white, shaggy creature.
And then we'll wrap up with Mike.
And Mike had an encounter in Nebraska.
Back in 1976, he woke up and he saw the creature when he was at camp.
If you've had an encounter and he'd like to be on the show,
shoot me an email.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Let's jump into it tonight.
I want to welcome Luana to the show.
Luana, thank you for being here.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I know that your encounter takes place in the early 80s out there in Michigan.
just kind of start from the very beginning.
What were you doing and what happened?
Well, me and my sister, she was a senior.
I was two years behind her.
We was out with her fiancé at the time,
just out riding around, having a beer out the back road.
And we had to stop to use the bathroom.
We was down a dirt road.
The name of the lake out there was Peabom.
And he went down the back road.
up on this hill and parked like on top of the hill.
And he went off on the driver's side into the bathroom, to the woods to use the bathroom.
And me and my sister Lisa, we got on the passenger side and we was going to the bathroom.
We seen something walking in front of the headlights.
And we both looked up and just freaked out.
and we was like, what the heck is that?
And we hurried up and got back in the truck and Randy come running in the truck.
What it was, and I've never, I've been out through the woods my whole life.
We lived out on a farm and had 12 kids in our family, so we was always through the woods.
Never seen nothing like it.
What it was, it was probably seven, at least,
seven foot tall, it was super tall, had really long arms that kind of hung over the front of it.
It was just the weirdest thing we ever seen, scared the daylights out of us.
It was white.
So at the time, I didn't think it was a Sasquatch because I always thought they were brown.
But it obviously, it was.
It was like a long shaggy hair, like it had been through the swamp and kind of dirty and droopy.
This thing came from the driver's side from where Randy had went into the wood.
That thing came out a little bit ahead and just walked on an angle in front of the headlights.
It wasn't, I mean, it wasn't disturbed by us at all.
It didn't act angry or in a hurry.
It just politely walked on an angle in front of the truck.
The headlights probably about a good couple yards in front of the truck into the woods on the passenger side.
It's a scary night for sure, Luanna.
You know, I want to ask you, are all three of you guys out of the truck at this point?
Yes.
And so when you see this creature, what stood out to you the most about?
its appearance.
The size of it, the long arms, the shaggy hair, the face, we've seen like only the
side of the face, the right side of the face.
It didn't look over at us.
It was just, like I said, just nonchalant walking on an angle into the woods.
But we knew for sure what we've seen and we knew it wasn't, you know, anything other than Bigfoot or Saskatch.
It was just really creepy.
It freaked us right out.
And from that day on, I know they're out there.
And I don't go out in the wooded area ever alone.
And to this day, people, we tell our story.
And people will tease us like my son now.
He wasn't born at the time, but they'll tease us about it, but we know what we've seen.
You know, we all three, that was the best thing, that there was three of us.
Yeah, and I think there's kind of a misconception that the white ones are rare.
And I've got a lot of reports of white ones.
And I just talked to a guy in Ontario, and he had an encounter.
He saw this big, huge bulking.
He thought it was a guy in a snow jacket, and it turned out not being a guy.
And then he thought it was a ghost because of how smooth it moved.
And it obviously wasn't a ghost.
But I can understand why.
You know, he didn't think that, you know, when you think of Sasquatch, you think of like black or brown.
Most people don't think of white.
And I never did as well, you know, until we've seen that.
And over the years, I've always wondered, you know, why was it white?
Was there such thing as albino Sasquatch?
I don't know, but I know what we've seen.
And it was definitely white, dirty white.
And the hair was all clumpy, you know, like a long-haired dog that would be running through a swamp,
how its hair would be clumpy and dripping.
That's how it was.
Yeah, you're right, Luanna.
I would say most of the time it's that dirty white color, and that's what people report.
Sometimes people will say light gray, but I think dirty white is kind of a better example of what people are seeing.
Now, when you saw this thing, you see it basically walk in front of the truck, and I might have missed it in the beginning.
You said it was about seven feet tall?
Yeah, I'm guessing, but it was tall.
It was taller than what any human would be, you know, probably seven, at least seven foot.
I don't know.
I was young.
I was like 16 and scared to death and just wanted to get the heck out of there.
I don't blame you.
And you know what's weird about that behavior is, you know, any other animal, known animal on the planet walks out, stumbles across a bunch of humans,
they're going to be at the very minimum on guard.
And this nonchalant attitude this thing had of just like,
I'm just passing through, which is weird because that's kind of what they do.
What do you make of that behavior from the creature of not really caring that you guys are there?
Yeah, I don't know.
I've thought about that over the years.
And what I make of it is it's just it didn't want to bother us and it didn't want to be bothered.
and it just politely walked away.
I mean, thank God it didn't attack any of us or act angry or, you know, nothing like that.
But, yeah, I don't know.
And then, too, I wondered if the headlights, because it was at night, if the headlights may be blinded them, I don't know.
It didn't want nothing to do with us.
It didn't act angry to us.
It just didn't want to be bothered.
It went off on its own.
I wonder if the creature, I mean, it must have been, when your friend went in to use a bathroom,
it must have startled this thing to get up and come out in the open, which is kind of weird.
I mean, you would think it would retreat.
That's why I kind of think it came out in the open.
Yes.
Yep.
I'm pretty sure that is what would have happened because it was probably.
he went in probably within two minutes that thing was walking across the front of the truck.
And he heard the branches and leaves crunching.
And he thought we had come over on that side.
But no.
And so when he looked up, he saw it from behind where me and Lisa saw it from the right-hand side.
You know, the thing walking on an angle, it was just the freakyest thing to this
day I'd ever seen.
What was the conversation like when it was all said and done?
I mean, were you guys like, oh, we just saw a freaking Sasquatch?
Yeah, you don't want me to repeat our words.
But yeah, we was like, what the was that?
And let's get the hell out of here.
And yeah, we got out of there and never went partying out that way again.
We was all freaked out, totally freaked out.
you know, I never want to see another one again, but people that don't believe it, like my son,
I would love for him to have the same type encounter as I did.
He was like, oh, Mom, you're probably just drunk.
No, we had like our second beer.
We know what we've seen.
And to this day, we all know.
And we talk about it every once in a while.
And we know it's out there.
never have I seen anything before or after you know even a bear they're supposed to be bears around here
I've seen them on people's cameras you know their video cams but I personally never seen one when
I was out in the woods and I'm I'm perfectly okay with that but we all know what we saw that night
and there's nobody you know that can take that away from us yeah I understand
completely. Let me ask you, Luana, when you saw this saying, did it remind you more of a man
or did it remind you more of like an animal? Definitely was non-human. They kind of had its head hung down,
its shoulders hung forward. And yeah, it definitely wasn't nothing human. Definitely not. We knew what
we saw. We knew when we seen it. I mean, it's right there in front of our eyes. How are you?
you're not going to know. And being that there was no houses. It's a very slumpy area through
there. No houses or nothing. Yeah, we knew exactly what we've seen, when we've seen it.
Looking back now, Luanna, does it surprise you its behavior of not coming out and like killing
everyone? I mean, there is aggressive reports, but, you know, a lot of times they'll leave. I think
a lot of its bullying and being territorial and that sort of thing.
But it's just kind of coming out and strolling off.
Now when you look back, does that surprise you that it didn't really address you guys?
Yeah, it does surprise me.
I'm thankful.
It did the way it did.
But, yes, you would think that it would maybe even charge at you, you know, fear and fear and come after.
us make noise to scare us or something.
But I often wonder if it wasn't the truck with the headlights shining because he had the
brights on and being parked up on the hill.
If it was the truck, why it didn't come toward us or after us, I don't know.
But it walked right in front of the truck.
So it obviously wasn't afraid of that either.
I really don't know, but I'm thankful.
I've never, never encountered anything close to that sense.
And I don't care to, but I, I'm thankful, you know, that I did see it to make me aware they are out there.
But attitude it was, just nonchalant, just went away from us.
It scared the hell out of all three of us.
I don't even think we ended up drinking anymore that night.
pretty much just got a night after that.
Yeah, it's freaky to see one, especially how close you were.
You know, I ask everyone on the show, Luanna, what do you think Sasquatch is?
And I know we're going back, you know, over 40 years.
But what do you think that these creatures are?
What's kind of your take?
Gosh, I don't know.
It's something that's always been out there and just never.
I really don't know, you know, if it's something that came from the cavemen and they just always been out deep in the woods or swamps and just had never evolved to, you know, civilization and just some that's left over.
I really don't know, but by looking back and the way it was kind of closer to.
to an ape or a gorilla or something in that manner,
you know, some kind of ape or I really don't know.
But the whole face from the side that we've seen
was covered in here as well as the body.
You don't forget, you know,
how super long them arms are hanging down like that.
That's definitely not manlike, human-like.
Yeah, I understand what we were trying
to say, Louana, and, you know, a lot of times that people have encounters, especially if they
get a good look at the face, they'll say, you know, look like a human in the face and the body of
more of a beast. And I know in your situation, you guys didn't get a good look at its face.
And, you know, I realize all of this is happening very quickly, too. And it's a really cool
account. I really appreciate you coming on and sharing what happened.
Sure. No problem.
And this is kind of a weird one.
Back on October 22, I posted on the blog on Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
It's called Strange Sounds at Night.
And this was sent to me by a listener.
And he writes, back in spring, summer of 2019, we began hearing this weird noise in our backyard at night.
It would start around 1 a.m. and go until 3 or 4 in the morning.
And if you guys want to check out the full blog, it's on October 22nd.
And I'll play the audio from the video.
It's kind of weird.
You see him out there with the flashlight.
The minute he, and it stops, the minute he turns around starts going back to the home,
this weird noise starts again.
But I can't place it.
It sounds very mechanical.
Let's take a listen.
Yeah, that's a weird one.
I mean, it sounds like the gates of hell are opening up.
but I can't place that noise.
Feel free to send me feedback if you know what it is.
Next up on the show, I want to welcome Mike.
Mike, thanks for coming on.
Thanks for having me, Wes.
I really appreciate it.
Yeah, and I know we're going back to about 1976 in Nebraska.
If you would, just kind of start from the very beginning.
What were you doing?
And what happened?
Yeah, the only reason I remember that,
because it was the bicentennial.
And that was all over the radio.
You know, as a kid, you never watched the news, but we've listened to music all the time, and it was everywhere.
And they had a, after I went to the Dude Ranch, they had a really big Fourth of July.
And it was just a real special moment.
So, geez, for three years in a row, my parents let me go to a dude ranch.
And we lived in Omaha.
I was, it was probably like a three or four hour drive.
I'm guessing.
And the property, it wasn't like a fancy ranch house.
It was a real basic brick building, one side for the boys and one side for the girls.
And they had a pretty big corraling back with a trampoline, and they had a lot of horses.
And we'd go on hikes, and then every summer we'd go on like a long journey with the horses.
we'd saddle them up and have supplies, and, you know, we'd go out overnight and camp.
And it was the, I think, second time I was there is when it happened.
It wasn't, there was a lot of woods, and it was pretty much of a hilly area also.
Back in the 70s, you know, parents didn't hover over their kids like they do now.
I think my parents said, like, yeah, let's get rid of the kid for three weeks.
it'd be good.
You know, so
I went to the
Dude Ranch, and
it was always really fun,
but what started it
is the people that
ran the ranch
had a house like
50 feet, you know, from
where we stayed, and they
had a son.
And I was talking to their
son, and he was mentioning
weird stuff happening around the woods,
and it was, the sun was setting,
And I can't remember exactly the detail.
As an eight-year-old kid, it was kind of freaky.
And I don't know if it was his conversation.
He mentioned they were having trouble with the horses.
They were always jumping out of the corral.
And they had probably like 14 horses.
And if you know horses at all, you know, all of them jumping out of the corral fence, you know, just doesn't happen.
And while we were talking, I just got the eeriest feeling for some reason.
It was a real, I don't know, it just went from fun conversation to the mood kind of shifted, you know, into a real negative area.
And looking around the woods that were nearby, it was just a real uncomfortable moment.
Well, anyways, you know, after a couple days, you know, we're having fun.
one night, God, we were all asleep.
And again, the girls were on one side, the boys on the other, and we had bunk beds.
And then we're probably, I'm guessing, like, 10 boys and 10 girls, maybe 14.
One of the girls came into our side overnight, and I will always remember this,
because I've never seen someone so scared in their entire life.
and she said she was in the bathroom and she saw a real ugly black face peering at her from the bathroom.
And first when she came in, I thought, you know, she's joking.
You know how kids are.
You try to get a rise out of everyone and scare everybody.
So at first I thought, you know, that's what was going on.
And then I took a pause and she was white and shaking.
She was really scared.
she didn't describe the face, she just said it was really ugly and it was just peering at her.
And she ran to us immediately.
Well, we got kind of all, you know, scared, slash excited.
We didn't go outside, but we thought it was a pervert or something like that, which doesn't make any sense because this dude ranch was, I'd say the nearest town to it was about 30 minutes away or maybe more.
So we finally calmed down and went to bed and slept.
And the next day, we got up and went to their side of the girl's side outside.
And it's a cinder block building.
And we all noticed, although I was only eight, so I, you know, wasn't a great gauge of height at the time.
the back of the grul side had a hill
and the hill where the building met
immediately started sloping downhill
if that makes sense
and the window height
it wasn't a big window I'd say probably like
12, 14 inches square I'm guessing
but it seemed to be pretty high
and what we all noticed
was some handprints on the wall
and it was muddy.
I don't remember it raining.
It could have been a gentle rain.
I don't remember really the weather that night,
but there were muddy prints on it.
They looked just like real giant,
real giant handprints.
And the only thing that really caught me was the thumb
was at kind of an awkward angle.
You know how chimps have more of a,
how do I want to say it?
Their thumb isn't like ours.
It's more to the side, if that makes sense.
The thumb was more offset, which seemed really odd.
And that was definitely a conversation among the guys, you know, what happened.
And, you know, kids being kids, probably 20 minutes later, we, you know, found stuff to do
when they had a bunch of activities.
So we forgot about it.
Then a few days later, it was time for our horse journey, I guess, if you want to call it.
They let us ride the horses quite a bit.
Some of us got good enough where we just had to have the bitten bridle.
We didn't need a saddle.
And that was kind of bragging rights when you're a kid.
You know, you felt like, you know, cowboy or Indians.
And that was fun.
But I think it was that much.
morning, we went out to the corral and all the horses were gone.
And I remember the owner was pissed.
He was cussing and something like, you know, the effect of not again.
So they had a pretty good size property.
Luckily, it was all fenced in.
And it took us a chunk of the day to find all the horses, you know, and bring them back.
But luckily, you know, they weren't real difficult and they followed us back to the
kraal, so we got them all.
So we saddle up to horses
and take off.
And it was pretty uneventful,
but man, if anyone
out there who rides horses,
if you're not used to it, man,
your butt hurts after six hours.
And
we settle down, and
we're in a clearing,
and we had a fire
going. You know, we had
our food and stuff like that, and we're joking
and having fun.
Well, we all fall asleep and we're all pretty much in a circle like the spokes of a wheel around the campfire.
And to describe the night at the time or the weather, it was a real nice summer day, full moon or near full moon, lots of stars.
So the lighting conditions were really good.
We were all sleeping and I have no idea why, but I just woke up.
I felt like I was being watched.
I stood up and looked towards a hill,
and I saw what I thought was a camp counselor coming down the hill.
And I thought, you know, your ear busted dude, I caught you because they love scaring the hell out of us.
You know, and it's the kind of stuff you did in the 70s, you know, at a dude ranch.
And I thought he was just going to try to really scare the hell out of us.
And I stood up and I was looking at him.
Initially, I thought he stopped and he looked at me.
The first thing I noticed were the arms were way too long.
And as I'm watching it, we're just staring at each other.
And it was about 50 feet, maybe 50 feet, 50 to 60.
And so first thing I noticed are the arms and that was my first indication that
something's not right with this.
The arms were, I'd say almost down to the knees.
It was slumped over a little bit.
And then I noticed there was hair all over the body.
It was the oddest thing.
You know, you're trying to process what it is as much as you can as a kid.
And it just stops and we're staring at each other.
And then it starts swaying.
It hunches over a bit more, and it starts swaying to the left and to the right, not real violently, but just almost in a casual way.
But at the time, I was like, who in the heck does that?
Who sway is back and forth?
And why is there hair over this thing, and why are the arms so long?
I didn't notice any eyeshine.
I didn't see the face.
I saw a real perfect silhouette.
It wasn't really huge, like I've heard on a number of your shows.
It seemed to be more of like a, I'd say the body was more like a, in general, kind of like somewhat of a chimpanzee.
The legs seemed a little shorter and were bent, but the torso seemed really long, like much longer than a person's was.
Like, I don't know, like a deformed basketball player, if that makes sense.
It didn't have huge muscles.
It wasn't gangly, and even though I saw the silhouette, it seemed to have a solidness or
mass to it if that makes sense.
It just seemed like it was
real built
and real, you know,
had a lot of math to it
without being really huge.
If that makes sense, we probably
stared at each other.
I'm going to guess for like
two, maybe three minutes.
I was just frozen
to the spot and what's really weird
is
I don't know
if it was fear at the time.
or if it was more an utter shock of what I was saying.
Because before this, the only thing I knew about Bigfoot was like the Yeti from like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, you know.
There weren't really any shows that I was aware of as a kid, but I was out playing all the time.
So if there was anything on TV, I don't remember it.
I do remember the $6 million man had a Bigfoot on it, but that was it.
but I never gave it any thought.
And even at the time, I never connected, you know, what I saw as it could be a big foot.
Even though I was around a bunch of guys and there were two counselors with us,
I did notice the counselors were all there.
And all I had to do was like say something, yell or, you know, just speak up loud.
And I couldn't say a word.
I was just rooted
to the spot
this thing
walks down the hill
into the hauler
into some brush
and just walks off
being summer
there was no
loose
leaves
no leaf fall
and I didn't hear
any branches
I didn't hear it even take
any footsteps
and it walked into
to me it seemed like
it was a
wall of brush
It was really thick, and I didn't hear it leave.
I just laid back down.
I don't think I slept that night if I did.
It was for a few hours.
But when I woke up, I still didn't say anything,
and I think the biggest fear in my mind is a kid, if I say anything,
you know, they're just going to make fun of me, you know,
and just, you know, razz me to death.
I didn't want to give them the ammo, so I didn't say anything.
But it was just really, God, I'm trying to find words for how I felt at the moment.
I think in the morning I was a lot more fearful than I was at night for some reason.
I'm sure having other people around me helped.
But it was just a real confusing moment, you know, because how do you put words to something that before in your life,
you've never really heard about or seen before or heard any information.
The next morning, we packed up the horses and loaded up and continued our trip.
And we were going up, you know, it was heavily wooded, but there were, you know, a number of hills and things like that that were clear of trees.
And we were going up one sloping hill.
I still don't know what to make of this, but on the right there was like a real old house, you know, from, you know, I was only eight at the time, so how would I know?
But I'd say like 1900, 1910, it was falling apart and it was a shack.
I mean, there was not much left.
And I remember just, you know, looking at it, the roof was pretty much intact, and I still don't know what I'm.
make of this if it was just my imagination or there was something really there.
But there was no glass on the window, but there was like a real old, what I thought was a real
old tattered curtain blowing in the breeze.
But to me, in my mind, it really seemed like there were three small, whitish-haired forms
in there.
all I saw was like the back of the head.
They had hair.
None of these, like the thing I saw at night, I would guess to me, you know, the hair length would be like four inches.
But I swear when I looked in the window, it looked like there were three heads kind of bobbing up and down.
And the biggest impression I had, it's like people were eating.
but they were all kind of a real dirty white.
They were all hairy.
And to this day, I don't know if maybe, you know, maybe there were three of these things in there that were little.
And maybe they were eating something and that was their cover.
Was it like a broken down shack, you know, that maybe someone used like a couple hundred years ago?
Is that kind of what you're describing?
I'd say it was a real small house that was dilapidated enough to look like a shack
and it was really, of course it was dark inside.
I want to say one end of the roof was gone, but the area I was looking at, you could see
and just because of the way the sun angle was at that particular moment.
And I thought it was just like an old lace, you know, curtain or something like that,
blowing in the wind. But as
my horse is trotten by,
you know, it just
seemed like there were literally
like three heads in there
with their backs to me and it
seemed like, you know, people that
would be, you know, eating something.
The heads would go down, come back up.
I don't know if that's
just because I was so ennerved with the night
before and my mind was making stuff up.
But shortly after that,
my horse just bolted.
and we pretty much always rode the same horses.
You know, you get to like a particular horse and never had a problem with this thing,
and this thing just bolted.
And I could not get control of this for the life of me.
Finally, I'd say, and it was a real hard gallop, about half a mile further on,
it just stops, and of course, it stops at a thorn tree.
And I launch into it, and I'm like, man, I'm glad I didn't poke an eye out or something.
But none of the other horses had a reaction, you know, and just kind of a series of odd coincidences.
And then after that, from what I remember, you know, we finished our trip.
Nothing else happened.
You know, we finished up the three weeks.
I came home, but what's really weird is the rest of the time we were there,
for whatever reason, I don't think I remembered it happening.
Because I went in the woods, no problem.
My parents picked me up.
And then you flash forward to, you know, many years later.
And I think maybe in certain situations, at least this is my take on it, you know, your brain will develop a coping mechanism.
And I think I just shuffled it to my subconscious and forgot about it.
Yeah, I think a lot of people go through that, Mike.
It might be a coping mechanism for sure.
I was talking to an eyewitness one time, and they had Bigfoot stuff going on this property.
And her son, I want to say, was like six or something like that.
And he was terrified of the window.
He absolutely was terrified of going near his business.
bedroom window. And he's on the second story. And he would tell his sister and try and go sleep with
her and say, there's a monkey at my window. And now as an adult, he doesn't remember that. You know,
I don't know if he put it out of his mind, but his sister remembers it, his mother remembers it.
I think sometimes you just try and put it out, you know, put it back, lock it away, and hope it
goes away. You know, when you were sitting there around that fire and the
figure comes out, you're sitting up. So obviously he knew you were looking directly at him.
Yes, sir, definitely. When I stood up, it was walking down the hill, and as soon as I stood up and looked at it, it stopped, turned towards me.
And, you know, I noticed the long arms and then the hair all over it and then the swing.
by the time I processed it and realized the arm length and the hair, you know, I'm not looking at a counselor.
What the hell am I looking at?
Yeah, I was curious if it hadn't noticed you, and obviously it did.
And I know all this is happening very quick.
And I get that, you know, your young child and you're seeing this and you're kind of freaking out.
Even adults, you know, people are aged now, see it for the first time and freak out.
a lot of people might go, you know, they kind of pass off the little kids like, oh, he saw a bear,
or he, you know, she saw this or whatever.
And I'm telling you, these kids know what a bear is.
And I've interviewed many of the little kids off the air.
There's a reason why I don't put them on the air.
But it's a very unique insight to chat with them, especially, I remember one of the best descriptions
ever got was from, you know, eight-year-old little girl.
And this thing would come up to her window every night.
And this kid knew way too much.
There's absolutely a creature coming up because she could tell you every line,
crease in its face, and doing weird things.
Like, kind of they would make faces at each other.
She told me it would motion for it to come out like her mom saying,
come here.
And it makes you wonder about the intention.
But as far as kids, again, some of the best descriptions,
I've gotten were from kids because I don't think there's quite the fear right off the bat.
That's the disturbing thing to me is how many times you've heard of these things at the windows.
And God, as a kid, I'm just glad I wasn't closer to it because I was really freaked out.
If it would have been at the window, I don't know, I don't know how it would have reacted,
but how traumatizing for any kid to go through that.
And I don't know what these things are, but to me there's something wrong with a giant eight-foot hairy figure wanting a little kid to come outside.
To me, that doesn't mean good for anybody.
I still have no idea what these things are, but I don't trust them.
I think, in my opinion is five cents.
I'm no expert.
I'm no researcher.
But I think some of them are like people, or at least maybe they have the tendencies of people.
I don't know if they're people, animal, beast, or something in between.
But my guess is some are good, some are bad, and you roll the dice and you get what you get.
But yeah, when they're making hand motions to guide a kid outside, that just, that reeks of ill will.
intent in my mind. Yeah, it does. And you know, Mike, I ask everyone on the show, what do you think
Sasquatch is? And there's no wrong answer. And I know that you, you know, you said you didn't know,
but if someone were to kind of pin you down for an answer, what do you think that they are?
God, you know, I've thought about that so much. And this is no disrespect or offense to anyone who
believes in the woo
and it's kind of a derogatory term but it's the best thing
I can think of
I honestly
I don't know
to me we're you know having seen one
you know you're either a believer or know
I know but I don't
I don't know
that's a good question why haven't we
why you know
is the only evidence that we have or a
you, you know, videos like Patterson Gimlin, I think that is the real deal.
You know, how come we haven't found one dead in a forest or how come a hunter with a 30-ought-6
or something stronger hasn't brought one down? I've heard of them being killed, but,
you know, how come these things are so hard to prove? And I guess that's where I, I, I,
question are they supernatural or supernatural?
Maybe their natural abilities are just so fine honed.
Now in Georgia, everybody hunts.
I haven't hunted since I was in high school, but everyone has game cams, you know,
and I understand that when you're tracking deer and such.
Bear and deer seem to be able to look right at them, you know,
and especially, you know, maybe they can smell them,
or maybe there's a hum they can pick up,
or maybe it's sent for red, but man, if I could answer that question, that would be great.
I think to me, whatever the truthful answer is, it's more disturbing that I would want to realize,
so I just any more tend to brush past that, if that makes sense.
Because I try to be real logical about things in general.
my spiritual life and I'm not proselytizing.
I'm a Christian.
But, you know, and that's faith.
And it's one thing.
But in general, I try to look at things logically as much as a man can.
Yeah, no, I appreciate your feedback, Mike.
I mean, it's one of those questions that's so hard to answer because it can go in many
different directions.
And, you know, you bring up some good points.
You know, why don't we have more video?
Why doesn't one shot one?
There's a million questions, and they're fair questions,
and I don't have a great answer for any of that.
But one thing that I do know is that people are seeing them for sure
and what they are, and it's a mystery.
And I really appreciate you coming on the show.
I know we're going back many years,
and I just can't thank you enough for taking the time to come on.
Yeah, thanks.
I really appreciate taking the time to talk
To me, it's really appreciated.
Thanks again, Mike.
