Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1080 Georgia Property And Sasquatch
Episode Date: August 10, 2024Dakota grew up on a large property in Georgia. Over the years strange things have happened on this property but it wasn't until Dakota and his friend from college saw one of the creatures that Dakota ...realized the strange things he experienced growing up on this property might have been these creatures. Ill let Dakota go into it tonight. Dakota writes "I grew up on a property in Georgia and I'm convinced a family lives there. I'm not sure if it could be a portal or not I'm still learning about that but I have had all types of encounters with them. I have seen several, multiple different colors and sizes from different distances. To go in chronological order from a young age I would hear rocks knocking together behind my dads shop (25' wide 75' long 20' high)and my parents couldn't explain it they said it was my imagination. I used to ride atv's and dirt bikes all over this property and in the area they live in I would always find trees down across the road, sometimes in an X sometimes just going one direction being young id cut the trees down and keep going. I always felt watched outside no matter when it was and as I got older and would hunt alone I had my first for sure Sasquatch encounter. My dad dropped me off at my stand (I'm 10-12 at the time) and he went back home. After he left about dusk I hear what I think I someone trespassing behind me, 50 feet maybe. Id like to add that about 300 yard behind me is where they live now that I know that. I texted my dad asking if it was him saying he was to close I could hear him and who was he talking to. He said it's not him and said I was hearing the wind, at this point something is walking around me in a circle until dark when my dad came to get me and when I saw his flashlight coming through the woods it was over. That day I never saw a squirrel or heard anything near me. A few years later my dad and I built a deer stand in a tree that was split into 3 so we built it into the actual tree because my dad thought it was a promising spot. Well he only hunted back there a few more times and when he stopped he told me never to go back there again and wouldn't tell me why. This stand was at the end of the road with the X trees on it. Then I went to high school and didn't get in the woods much because I was a 3 sport athlete. Then college. I brought a buddy home in fall of '17 to hunt during fall break and we are on opposite sides of the property he on one side of a valley and me and my now wife on the other, we hear this roar that he said shook his chest( he was in a blind about 50 yards from that tree stand my dad and I built)Then summer '21 I came home for summer and my best friend came with me to work construction with me. He believed in something being out there just not Bigfoot he wouldn't name what it was. I told him I knew they roamed a valley on the property so we set out mid afternoon just kind of showing him the property kind of looking for signs of Bigfoot. I'm showing him my stands, my dads, we start walking this valley and cut up the property line fire break and as a joke my buddy wanted to 'whoop' and I knew it was a bad idea. He did it anyways and in front of us about 75 feet we hear two whoops back to us. He thought I was pranking him and I was in pure disbelief. We are standing there looking at each other shocked and over his shoulder up the hill 100 feet maybe I see a 5' jet black upright thing step out from behind a tree and at that point I was scared because the whoops came from the opposite direction. I show him what I saw and we are at this point having to calm ourselves down because we are between what we think is momma and juvenile. We walk forward towards the whoops about 25' and all the sudden we hear what we both described as "a silverback gorilla beating on a piece of sheet metal" from down in the valley on the other persons property and we are gun freaks so we get back to back and draw our weapons because we are threatened and scared truthfully. Then we hear laughing but I now know as the chatter but it was at super speed and the same chatter I heard as a kid hunting and I've heard connected to so many Bigfoot sightings. We were surrounded by at least 5 of them so we haul tail up that hill back to the house and as soon as we look up to go up the hill there was that deer stand my dad built, I knew why I couldn't be back there. We were followed out back to the house by at least 3 we never saw them but for sure could hear grunting, huffing, growling, etc. that was our huge encounter. The rest of the summer we would have encounters of them in the woods watching us at least 10 times some standing out more than other, once we heard a loud knock from the valley and then saw an arm swing and one walk away from a think area and about 15 minutes later we saw one back in that spot. quI shined a flashlight in there a we could see it's leg we think thigh and it was absolutely massive this was a big male, the leg made Patty look small. This was a man. Another time, we were redoing a camper I had to live in when we went back to college and we would spend all night out there working on it inside and out at my grandparents house which is on the same property but the opposite side of the valley. We had rocks thrown at the camper we heard bi-pedal walking several times and I even saw a few more watching us. Nothing scary but these ones were brown or red. That's mostly all of them. I'd just like to talk to someone about this Tony, Wes, anyone really who can help me out because I'm scared to go back to my parents house. I've since got married and moved to town and I have seen one cloaked outside my house. I've had a few more weird unexplained encounters at my new house. Thank you all for what you do and I look forward to hearing from you!"

It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind
and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up
and that shocked me.
They don't make people that that big.
The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach.
I've never seen anything moves like that in my life.
They were screaming at each other in gibberish.
It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forward.
I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears.
What happened one, what are you reporting?
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That's son of a bitch is about six.
This is about six foot nine. I don't know.
Do you see a bouncer?
Yes, I'm looking right here.
Hi, this is Ian on the eastern shores of England.
You better believe it.
All around the world, we're listening to Sasswatch Chronicles.
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Got a great show plan for you.
We'll be chatting with Dakota.
And Dakota grew up on a very large piece of property out there in Georgia.
And over the years, he had a lot of really weird things happening.
happen while growing up here. And it wasn't until Dakota and his friend from college saw one of
the creatures. They were actually paced out as well. But it wasn't until that moment that Dakota
realized, you know, I wonder if all that weird stuff growing up was actually these things.
But I'll let Dakota go into it tonight. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the
show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes.
at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance, check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com,
you can become a member and get additional shows. I know After Dark, Episode 2 is coming in
September. And I don't have an exact date at the moment, but we're working on it for the members.
And as we get closer, I'll let you know the exact date. But again, after Dark is returning with
episode two in September.
Let's jump into it tonight.
I want to welcome Dakota to the show.
Dakota, thanks for coming on.
Thanks for having me, Wes.
Yeah, and you grew up on this large piece of property out there in Georgia,
and I know you and a buddy from college actually saw the creatures.
If you would, kind of tell me about this property and walk me into your first encounter.
So really the first encounters were you just kind of hear knocks and things in the woods.
Like I grew up on 110 acres.
It was my parents and my grandparents.
So I had Rome of the whole place.
I was an only child.
It's just me in the woods, I thought.
And we grew up, had four-wheelers, we hunted dirt bikes.
I was all over this property.
When I was out in the yard, I'd hear like, click,
or like, now I know it's like more rock clacking, I think.
And I hear it from behind my dad's shop.
It was probably 20 or 30 yards into the woods right there.
I asked my parents about it and they would say, oh, it's the well.
That's the well kicking off and on.
But the well is like 50 yards to the right of where I was hearing this.
I'm five, six years old.
You know, mom and daddy.
said it, it was, that's the way it was. So I just kind of moved on with life.
As I grew up and I would ride my four-wheel and my dirt bike, there was always this part of the trail that would always have these trees in front of it.
I mean, there were trees probably maybe the size of a bottle of water thickness, maybe that kind of diameter.
They'd always be across this trail. I'd just get off the four-wheel or whatever and move them and do what I did.
That was just another sign of me not knowing what the heck I was looking at.
As I grew up, I would hunt all over this property.
And everywhere I went, I'd have these weird feelings of like being watched.
I talked to my dad about it.
He's like, you're just alone in the woods.
You know, I think I started hunting by myself at like 12 or 13.
And he'd bring me in, put me in the stand, and he'd leave.
I would just have these experiences of like,
I swear there's somebody looking at me.
I'd have days where I wouldn't even see a squirrel.
And I just, you know,
I didn't know anything about Sasquatch or anything in the woods
other than there's deer and squirrel and rabbits
and everything they teach you in school.
So one day I'm hunting
probably 150 yards into the trees
away from our house.
And this is the first real encounter, I guess, other than like trees being across the road and stuff like that.
But I hear people talking behind me, Wes, and I'm almost in the center of our property.
And there should be nobody out here.
I mean, there should be nobody out here.
So I just, I take my little flip phone and I text my dad like, hey, are you in the field behind me talking to somebody?
because my dad runs a business and people call whenever they feel like it.
So texting my son, now he's like, no, I'm at the house.
And I'm like, well, there's somebody talking behind me.
He's like, oh, it's probably the people in the trailers behind us.
And I just kind of took it and rolled my eyes and moved on.
And there's no way I could hear people talking.
It wasn't like they were yelling.
It's like they were just talking, just like I'm talking to you.
but I just couldn't make out what they were saying.
And I saw nothing that day.
And I was scared to move.
And then something started walking around me.
And it walked around me for probably 30 or 45 minutes.
And I'm waiting on something to walk out.
I mean, I'm hunting in the middle of the woods.
And I've found a place where four or five trails kind of come together.
I'm in a really good spot.
I'm like, if this, whatever this is, is walking through these trails, I'm going to see it.
Well, it circles me for, you know, like I say, 45 minutes, and I got nothing.
The woods are dead quiet, and here I am waiting.
Nothing ever happens other than me hearing this chatter behind me and being circled.
Finally, I see my dad's flashlight come bebopping through the woods,
man, Wes, let me tell you, that was the best flashlight I've ever seen in my life.
Because I was so scared I couldn't get out of the stand.
I made him come and get me.
We walked out, nothing happened.
But every time I hunted that stand, where I heard those people talking from was also the area where those trees would be across the road.
And like as I grew up, you know, I watched Finding Bigfoot and Mountain Monsters and all the shows.
And I could believe something was out there.
Maybe out your way in the Northwest or something like that, but not at my house.
Maybe even in some of the state parks around, but not at my house.
I hear all these stories about people saying, we drive eight hours and we go camp and we holler.
and we do all these things.
And I'm like, great, I believe you.
But not at my house.
I know a lot of people that would be grateful to have them at their house.
They just walk out the back door and do their research and go back to bed.
Not this guy.
But that happened and that went on for several years.
I grew up, went away to college.
And between those times, I mean, I would have all kinds of experiences of like, I'd hear things.
I'd hear people talking.
I'd hear the whoops.
I'd hear the woman being murdered in the woods, whatever you want to call it.
I heard all kinds of stuff, Wes, and I'm just a naive teenager thinking like, wow, those people in that trailer part back there are wild.
And as time goes on, grow up, go to college.
And my roommate is shy like I am.
and I'm like, hey man, why don't
why don't you come hang out with me at the house for the summer?
You know, we'll work, hang out, shoot some guns, drink a little,
do what we do.
And we got home, and I just asked him,
I was like, hey man, what's your thought on Sasquatch, Bigfoot, whatever?
He's like, man, I don't know.
He goes, I can believe that there's something out there,
but I don't know that it's that.
I don't know what it is, but there's definitely something out there.
And I told him, I said, okay, well, I'll prove to you that there's something out there.
And it's not just out there, buddy, it's outside that window.
So one day, we're, like, just hanging out.
And he goes, why don't you show me what's out there?
So I take him, and at this point, we had clear-cut the property to help pay for me to go to school.
And everything is different than the way it was when all the kid and everything was happening.
But I know where I am geographically on the property.
So I'm able to show them like, this is where the deer stands used to be that I used to hear people talking behind me.
We walk back up into that field where I had some ideas, things were happening, where those trees would be across the road.
And I missed out on two very important details.
The year before, or two years before, a different roommate came home with me on Thanksgiving.
to hunt, hang out, didn't have a great home life, so he just needed somewhere to go for the holidays.
And of course, my parents were glad to have him.
Well, he's hunting in that field where I always heard people talking in a blind, just a little pop-up blind you put on your back and pop it up wherever.
And my girlfriend and I, who now my wife, are hunting on the other side of the property.
probably 30 minutes before dark, we hear this, we call it a T-Rex roar, because it just sounded like a big male with more lung capacity than I've ever heard of, just rah!
Like he was mad at the world.
My roommate texted me, he goes, do you hear that?
I sent you the screenshot, and I was like, yeah, man, Bigfoot's after you.
just totally had no idea what the heck I was talking about.
And wound up, it probably was when I'm mad that he's like in their living room or whatever.
Yeah, that happened.
And the different roommate came home with me.
And we're searching through this property.
And I'm like, yeah, this is some stuff over here.
And this is where the stands were.
And this is where everything used to be.
and I'm telling him like my dad and I built a deer stand in a tree
and it was a tree that had grown into three
and it was like a triangle and we built a deer stand actually in the tree
and we drove some of those 12-inch nails in there to make a ladder
and we built that stand and I think my dad hunted that stand twice
and told me never to go back there again so I didn't you know whatever
But I'm telling him like, hey, I'm looking for this deer stand.
Because I want to know if this is related to, you know, what if my dad might have saw something?
And he's just like, I mean, my dad's 65.
He's from the generation.
No offense to any of your listeners that most of them don't say anything if they have a sighting until they're good and ready to.
So I tell him, looking for this deer stand, looking to figure out.
like where we are kind of.
We're walking in this valley that is like the property line, sort of.
My buddy's kind of joking around.
He goes, I'm going to do a whoop.
And I'm like, no, no, don't.
I do not.
I don't want to have an encounter.
I just want you to know that there's something out here.
And Wes, let me tell you about five seconds after that,
my world changed completely.
He lets out a whoop.
We stand still and look at each other.
And if we're standing still looking at each other,
so right behind me where he's looking,
we hear a whoop-whoop,
and we just kind of look at each other, like, oh, no.
And we start looking around.
And we're in the middle of the woods, West.
We're not going to see anything.
But we're looking around like,
are you playing a joke on me?
That's what he said to me.
He goes, are you playing a joke on me?
Are your friends out here?
I'm like, no, buddy.
This is not me.
This has got to be you.
He goes, dude, I'm six hours from where I live.
This is not even close enough to be a joke for me.
Stop playing.
Who is it?
I'm like, I don't know who it is.
So we're like looking around and we're still facing each other.
And I look up the hill to my nine o'clock.
And Wes, I look up the hill.
and 30 yards in front of me is something jet black, maybe four feet tall,
looking beside a tree, or leaning out from behind a tree, looking at me.
And I just reach out and grab my buddy on the arm and I go,
please tell me you see what I'm looking at.
And this thing is looking at me and I'm looking at it.
And my buddy looks at me and goes, holy snaky.
and we're like, we got to get up out of here
because the noise we heard was not from that direction
rather than noise on the other side of us.
So he looks at me and he goes, we're between baby and mama.
And I go, uh-huh, we got to get up out of here.
So we take four or five steps, Wes,
and from where the first noise came from,
from where we think mama was,
it sounded like somebody pissed off a silverbacked gorilla
and this thing went to beating on a piece of sheet metal almost
or a 55 gallon drum.
It just sounded like a piece of metal was being beat on
and like a gorilla going crazy.
We get back to back and we're like, all right,
we got to get up out of here, ASAP possible.
And we're just kind of standing there like evaluating the situation
of looking for the one we just saw,
looking for whatever made this noise
and praying to God, there's nothing
standing between us and getting back to the house.
We just hear, we hear two different things.
I mean, I'm sure with your encounter
and everyone else that's had one,
everybody's going to have a slightly different encounter
because of the adrenaline
and what your brain notices compared to other people.
And I noticed what hears like laughter.
And my buddy notices they were like talking.
and he hears the chatter, and he goes,
I don't know what they're saying, but man, we got to go.
So we start high-tailing up the hill out of this valley back towards my parents' house.
We take 20 steps, look up, and there's that deer stand.
My dad told me to never go to again.
But we heard them walking on our left and our right and behind us.
The only thing that we ever saw that day was the infant, the toddler, whatever.
Do you want to call it?
And they continued, like, chattering or laughing the whole way out almost.
I mean, we could see the house, and it's like they stopped.
And I'll tell you what it really sounded like.
You know, in the intro, when you have the sound, and it's, I can't make the sound.
But it kind of sounds like a guy laughing.
But it's a recording of Sasquatch.
You know what I'm talking about?
Yeah, I'm trying to think of where you're talking about.
about. There's a few vocalizations. I think you're talking about the one with Claire.
Let me pull in the intro real quick. Is this what you guys were hearing?
It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards,
back and forward. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet
but what I saw were bears. Yeah, that's it. That's exactly what we heard with. And the first time
I listen to your show, I got chills down my spine and I'm like, I am not a lunatic.
Yeah, that's kind of what we heard coming out and they were not happy with us at all.
We go back to the house and my parents are in there.
My dad's watching the race.
My mom's taking a nap.
You know, whatever.
And we're like, hey, bye, we're going in my room.
We close all the blinds.
We get in the closet.
We close the door to the closet.
We go, tell me what you saw.
And we kind of give each other a rundown of what we saw.
And we're like, yeah, we saw the same thing.
My buddy goes, it's out there.
I'm never leaving this closet again.
I don't care what anybody says.
They're out there.
And that was, that kind of concludes the big deal, the big sighting that we had.
I know the little one is the only one that you guys really got to look at.
It's still ennerving, though, when you're being paced out of an area and you don't really know, I mean, you can't see what's actually pacing you out.
And I don't imagine all the way back home.
There was that fear, you know, that most people have, really at one moment is this thing going to jump out and give me a what for?
I wanted to ask you about the little one because I know you guys got to look at it.
If you would, would you kind of describe what you guys saw?
So he, it was a he.
I don't know.
Maybe it wasn't old enough to have memory glands.
It was leaning out behind a tree that was probably 10 foot tall,
and it was nowhere near as tall as it.
That's how I know it was an infant or in its youth, maybe at best.
It was four or five feet tall.
It looked like a man in a monkey suit because of the size.
I mean, I know people say that the shoulders were as wide as the hood on their car.
This one was not.
This was a child, Wes.
And it looked out at me and saw me and my buddy and was like,
you're not my mama.
What are you looking at?
But it was very black.
I mean, this thing was like, when you turn the TV off, you know how black the TV screen gets?
It was that color.
And the face had hair around it.
It didn't have a mustache.
Didn't have a beard.
And again, I don't know if that was because of its age or, you know, if they go through like puberty like we do and then it comes in later, whatever.
The eyes, I never saw the whites of its eyes.
And from that distance, I couldn't make out like an eye color.
It never showed me teeth.
It had a flatter nose.
And its skin looked like, kind of looked dry.
Like, you know, if you go camping or you go out in the woods for a few days and you're not able to, like, properly take care of yourself, your face gets like shiny and oily.
And this was not.
This was like it had taken a bath and its face was clean and it wasn't only.
It was just kind of dry, I guess.
But it's July and Georgia.
I mean, it's 100 degrees at midnight, you know.
I've heard from a lot of eyewitnesses that when they see the skin, it kind of reminds them of dried leather.
Can I ask you real quick going back to that tree stand that your dad had set up and basically said don't come back here?
Why do you think he was telling you not to go back to that tree stand?
He just said there was no deer back there.
But anybody that hunts knows that you're not going to take the time and spend the money on building a stand in a tree that you can't move where you haven't seen deer at or you don't have a really good inkling of there being deer out there.
I think he had a sighting or something serious happen out there to where he's like,
yep, no way.
I'm never going out there, not letting my kid go out there, done back there.
Yeah, you're right.
It is kind of weird to set up a tree stand, go through all that work.
Because before even setting up the tree stand, he would have realized, oh, this is a really good area for us to hunt.
And to set it up and just leave it there and be like, don't ever go back there again.
and really makes me wonder.
So you guys get home and you guys are talking about,
hey, what did you see?
What did, you know, what is it that you saw?
And do you guys tell anyone or do you guys just kind of keep it between yourselves?
We do for months.
I mean, because, I don't know, me and my dad don't have the kind of relationship of like,
hey, dad, I think I saw a Sasquatch outside last night.
it's more of a professional yes sir relationship.
I've worked for my dad since I was like 12,
so it's more of a boss and worker relationship
than it's a father and son relationship.
So we don't have the kind of relationship
where I could just be open about that kind of stuff.
My mom, she probably would have laughed at me.
I don't think she still knows to this day.
You know, Dakota, you're kind of in a position
where you guys are seeing this younger one,
and it's not that far away from you guys.
And you know this from being a woodsman
and kind of being out in the woods your whole life.
You know, you come across a bear and it's cub,
and you're probably dead.
You know, a black bear will run from you,
and they're kind of skittish,
but a mama black bear with her young,
she's going to mop the floor with you
and not think twice about it.
You know, and most animals are that way.
cougars and I can think of most predators when they had their young, you're dead if you're
around.
It's regardless of what your intent is because they could care less.
You know, and you guys see this little one and then on your way out you guys are being
paced on all different sides.
Why do you think they didn't hurt you?
Well, I got no idea other than the fact of I think they watched me grow up.
you know, I think they knew who I was.
They knew that, like, I'm not out here looking to kill you or hurt you or even hurt your young.
I'm just kind of hanging out, doing the things that I've done on that property since I was old enough to do it.
So I don't think they had like a malicious intent, but it was like, hey, we got to do, they had to do something to show us like, hey, you got to get out of here now.
this is our, our domain leave.
Yeah, I agree with you.
I think that behavior really is, you know, meant to make you go away.
I think it's intimidation to make you go away.
It just amazes me because, you know, like I was saying before, you know, your other major
predators and even pray for that most part, when they had their young around, you're
probably going to get hurt if not killed.
And with these things, their aggression does go up when they're young or around, but not to the
level you would see from known wildlife.
Like I gave the example before, like a black bear, if mama bear is there, she has her
cub and she catches any sort of sight or smell of you, she's going to come for you.
And you're not going to win that battle.
these things though on the other hand don't necessarily start killing people the aggression goes up a little bit
but you would think there would be way more aggression when they're younger around you know after this
incident did you just kind of give up on going back out there or have you been back out there
so we never went back to that spot because um i'm not i'm not that brave or that stupid however
whatever kind of person you are.
You know, as the summer it goes on,
we've got a few months left of summer,
and we're working on some stuff in the yard.
You know, I mean, we're 20-year-old guys.
We hang out outside most of the day anyway.
And I had bought a camper.
We're fixing it up.
We were going to live in it when we went back to school
to try and save some money.
And just periodically,
we would have stuff get thrown at us from the trees.
At this point, we know what it is.
So we just kind of turn and wave and go, hey fellas, we actually named them.
I know that's ridiculous, but naming it made it, naming them made it not as scary, I guess.
I don't know.
But we named them not individually like some people are able to do when they see them all the time.
But if we thought it was a guy, we'd call him Phil.
It was a girl.
We'd call it Janet.
We named the little boy Lipp, short for Phillip, just stuff to not make it as traumatizing, I guess.
We had an experience where my parents' air conditioner went out.
We're hanging out outside, just kind of hanging out, waiting on the air to get cut back on.
And it's almost dark.
I mean, you can barely see the sun through the trees.
and we look up on the hill where I had always heard those like rock clacks come from when I was a kid.
And right there is that areas where we came over the hill when they walked us out that day.
Like it's all happening from the same direction.
But in that direction, we see a leg.
And West, this leg was probably as big as both of mine, if not bigger.
at the calf compared to mine at the thigh.
And we're just like, they're just watching hanging out.
It was backlit.
Like he's, I assume it was a he.
I pray it was a he as big as he was.
But we just could see the leg.
It's like there were vines growing up and in the tree,
but we saw like the shin down.
The rest of it, we couldn't see.
I mean, it was a stroke of luck that we actually happened to look.
up there and see him. I mean, most people see him on accident anyway. But we look at each other and we're
like, do you see that? And I go and get a mag light out of my truck and I shine it on his leg.
And I'm like, oh yeah, that is most definitely a leg. That's not a tree. There's fur, hair moving in the
wind. I know what I'm looking at. And, you know, we turn the light off and he's up there, we're down here.
If they wanted to pull our heads off of our body, they would have done it a long time ago.
So we're just outside, chit-chat and whatever.
And we hear a whistle from down in the holler where the initial sighting happened.
And we go to look back where the leg was and it's gone.
You know, I don't know what that means.
I don't know if that means, hey, come on home.
They should be in for the night or whatever.
Maybe it was like, hey, somebody else is going to watch them until they go in, come back.
I don't speak whistles, so, you know.
But we had several other encounters of like we would see them like, I saw one laying down looking at me from that direction too.
And he was laying like behind a log, but I could see the top of his head.
like it looked like a bump on a log.
I mean, I know that's an expression,
but it looked like I could see the conical shape
over the top of this log where he was looking at me.
And I'm like, and I think I hollered out.
You know I can see you, right?
Because at this point, it was kind of fun in games of like,
we know that they're watching us a lot now.
So we were just trying to not be traumatized by it, I guess,
and make a game of it.
Yeah, it's interesting you talk about the naming of them many years ago, like 10 years ago or so I would kind of roll my eyes when I heard people say that.
But what, you know, and I was wrong in having that attitude because what I found out is kind of what you were saying, Dakota, it's almost kind of normalizing a situation by giving it a name.
So it's not so weird.
And so many weird things happen.
You know, when they're on your property, there is a lot of situations where it's strange.
You know, anyone else comes on the property and they're like, you know, what the hell was that?
And but you've heard it so many times that it doesn't, it gets to a point where it almost doesn't phase you.
I wanted to ask you about, I know your grandmother kind of lived nearby, but on this property outside of Sasquatch, did you guys ever see any weird lights on the property?
Wes, I've never thought about it until I started listening to your show, but all the freaking time, dude.
And they'd always come from the same direction as these encounters happened from.
And I don't know if they're the same thing.
I don't know if they're related.
And I would even see them at my grandparents' house.
My grandma would be sitting on the front porch.
That was her television was sitting there watching the tree.
sway in the wind.
And she'd come inside and go,
baby, I just saw a light,
like go across the yard.
Are there somebody coming up the driveway or, you know, whatever.
And she would just be,
we just kind of rode it off.
My grandma had Alzheimer's,
and we just kind of just thought she was,
you know how they'll mix reality at certain points in time?
We just thought that's what was going on until I started seeing them.
And I'm like, I'm 20.
I don't have Alzheimer's.
I'm not a lunatic.
I'm seeing lights. I would see them. I have one time that I saw them up close and personal of
I'm walking through the woods with another buddy of mine. We're in high school and we're walking
from we're hunting hogs on the back of our property and we're walking down this trail with no lights
just because we're hoping to see something and behind us it just gets really bright like it's a mid-
a light. And we turn around and there's just this ball of light, probably 10 feet up. And we just
take off running. Because I don't know what that is. I've lived here my whole life. And I know
there's not a lamp post in the middle of the forest, in the middle of these woods. But I would
also see them like, just in the woods. Like, it looked like a flashlight, beep bopping through the
woods. And I'd go in the house and be like, hey, Daddy, there's somebody out there. We go,
out there and he'd think I was a lunatic
because you couldn't see it anymore.
But I had several occasions where I'd
see what it looked like a flashlight
walking through the woods.
But it wasn't bouncing like a flashlight.
Like when we carry a flashlight and we
bounce, the flashlight will bounce.
But this was just on a
like it was on a string.
And that happened
quite a lot, but it never
like amounted to anything to me. It was just one of
those weird things.
You know, you know what they say in Appalachia.
You go in the house at night.
You close the windows.
You don't go outside until the sun comes up.
That's what I took it as.
Yeah, I know there's a lot of superstition in the Appalachas and, you know, in the South
and general.
Look, can I ask you, I mean, how far away from your guys' home was your grandmother's home,
kind of a layout?
I mean, where is she at compared to where you guys are at?
I did experience something.
Let me go back and tell you where we are where we are geographically.
So if you draw a line from our initial encounter in that bottom to my grandparents' house,
draw it as a crow flies.
We're probably talking 500, 600 yards.
And my parents' house is on that line.
So it's not like they're in two different places.
If you draw this line, you're overlaying the sighting.
my parents' house, and then my grandparents' house.
And it's not on the 33rd parallel.
I checked, just to be sure.
I know how some people feel about that.
But at my grandparents' house,
had the camper we were working on over there for some stuff
because my granddad was a head mechanic at Buick for 40 years.
He had more tools than you could imagine.
And if you needed a specific tool,
if he didn't have it, he could make it.
And when you're working on a camper that was made in 1974,
Wes, there's a lot of stuff to fix on those things.
So we're over there.
We're working on it.
It's nighttime.
And, oh, let me go back.
Let me back up.
My friend, I had an eye appointment to get some new glasses.
So he goes over there.
My grandparents weren't home.
He's just hanging out in the camper, cleaning up, doing some stuff,
just kind of getting ready for me to get there.
and I call my buddy a foot because they'll never be handy.
So he's not doing anything without me being there.
So he's just kind of killing time until I get home.
He calls me at the doctor's office.
He's like, dude, that's all the rocks at me in this camper.
And he goes, I'm going to sit on the porch.
I'm not looking out these windows.
I'm in a can of soda right now.
And if he wants to, he's going to pull this door off of here and y'all ain't going to find me no more.
So he goes and sits on the porch.
and he realizes
it's a big yard
there's only one
direction
that these rocks
acorns whatever
could have been coming from
he goes hey man
I got some animal crackers
I'm gonna go put on a tree stump
I very much so discouraged him
from walking in the woods
in the direction that we have a pretty good inkling
there's a Sasquatch in
but he does it anyway
and he goes and sits on the porch
and waits for me to get there
so that evening
I get back
from the doctors, we're working on this camper, and we're working on putting lights outside,
you know, running lights and lights on the awning, all the hoopla.
So we've got the area lit up pretty well.
Had it hooked up to my truck, it was running.
I had two 52 inch light bars on the top, a 30 inch on the bottom.
It was basically daytime out there.
I had so many lights going.
and from the same direction,
Wes, we heard a,
we just kind of look at each other.
It's 11 o'clock at night on a Friday night,
and we're like, not again.
I can't do this again.
So we walk out in front of my truck,
which is luckily facing the direction
of that whistle we just heard.
And we just are kind of looking and looking
and not seeing,
and then all of a sudden,
I see these two green eyes,
eyes, self-illuminating green eyes.
And he sees them.
And we're just kind of looking at it.
And we're all, all three of us, me, my buddy, and this Sasquatch are just frozen,
looking at each other.
And we're looking and I'm like, okay, we'll go to bed.
I don't know if we're keeping y'all up or, you know, whatever.
We're going to go back to the yard and get out of your woods.
and we're going to go home for the evening.
And I say that to the Sasquatch,
and I know he didn't understand me,
but I felt better about it.
We look at him.
We go back.
But before we go back,
our eyes kind of adjust
to looking into the trees,
and I see it.
I like see the outline,
and I can see the color of the hair.
I can make out the nose.
I can make out how tall it is.
and it was not black like the one that we saw on the other side of the property.
Wes, this was more of like a, it's not brown, like we have brown hair.
It had red in it.
And I don't know why that one was by itself and had red hair when not half a mile,
there was a group that we're sure have all black hair.
And I don't know if their hair color is genetic like ours or how they determine that in their gene pool, but there's that.
But that was, I think that was like the last actual sighting we had.
We've had warnings, we've had gifts and stuff like that brought up to the house.
I sent you an email of a tree that was snapped on the edge of my parents' like yard.
It was broke off about 12 or 14 feet up
The tree was probably
The diameter of a
I guess a Coke can
And it was just broke off hanging there
No other trees around it
It broke off
No nothing else
I sent you a picture of a deer
And it's a fawn
It's probably besidely your dog you were telling me about
and it looks like it was just pulled in half and put on a trail.
Like, it's fresh.
And like I had just went through there a few minutes earlier.
I don't even remember what I was doing.
But it looked like something, took this deer and just pulled it in half.
You'll see in the picture.
And it freaked me the hell out, dude.
I don't know what it was.
I don't know what it was supposed to mean.
But that freaked me out.
Yeah, it's a strange kill.
I'll definitely post that picture in the one of the tree that you sent me.
Let me ask you, I mean, I know that you moved away from this property, you got married, and you're kind of on your own now.
Have you been back to this property, though, since leaving?
Well, I go back because, you know, I see my parents.
I see my grandparents.
But I don't hunt out there anymore.
I don't go and, like, explore.
I mean, you know, when you first get married, you don't have time to do that kind of stuff anyway.
You're trying to move into a house and I'm trying to take over a family business.
I don't have time to do that kind of stuff right now.
But when I go out there west, you better believe I'm looking over my shoulder.
I'm listening for anything because I kind of want to see it in, but I kind of don't.
They're definitely still there.
I've never seen one again, like I said, but I've got an inkling from just the sounds of the woods.
And like one day specifically, I was out at my dad's building.
We're working on a trailer that I had bought.
And it's probably 9, 30, 10 o'clock at night.
We've got the big doors rolled up, letting air in.
And, you know, we have crickets and frogs and nighttime animals.
And then we just got nothing.
I mean, you could have heard a pin drop a mile away.
And I know what it is.
I don't know if my dad knows what it is or not.
But I'm like, all right, buddy, we got to wrap this up.
I got to get to the house.
I got to go.
Yeah, the forest going quiet.
When it takes that deep breath, it's definitely time to go.
You had the place where you're living now, I know you don't live too far away.
It's not like you're living next door.
But there were some weird things happening.
at your home. I'm curious to know what you think Sasquatch is, but what's going on at your home?
Around the one I'm living at now. Yeah. I don't know. It's kind of in the woo. I know you're not
into the woo like a guy like Tony is. I'm in the middle of the two of you with the woo thing.
Try me. And for the audience, when Dakota says woo, he's talking about paranormal or some of the
weird stuff that goes on in people's encounters.
And I do think that there's a lot of really weird, not normal things that happen when
Sasquatch is around.
But if you would, yeah, tell me what's going on around your home.
I am probably 30 miles away.
And we moved, we didn't move to town.
We moved on the outskirts of town.
We've got an acre and a half with neighbors on both sides and woods behind.
us.
And I've got a little shop in the back, and I spend quite a few hours in the evenings,
and at night's out there hanging out with the fire, with the dog, just doing whatever I do,
tinkering.
The dog would just walk up to the trees, and then a minute later, he'll tuck his tail
and come get right underneath my chair.
and I know that these things don't like dogs
and I think that he knew that they don't like dogs
I had one experience that was very woo
that was like I saw like the predator
I walked outside to go and get something out of my truck
I opened the garage door
we have like a detached garage
I opened the garage door to come back into the house
or into the yard to go back into the house
and I see the predator, like off to my left of like shimmering light almost.
And I'm like, this is not, this ain't right.
Like I moved away from out there to get away from this hoopla.
Like, I got to do something here.
But I kind of think that that's kind of all this happened here.
I mean, I've gotten really heavy into like praying about God, I don't want to see this in my home.
I don't know that I can deal with this here.
Like this is supposed to be like a safe space for me.
And it's kind of stopped, but it kind of hasn't.
Like I'm still hearing noises come out of the woods and, you know, things like that.
But I haven't had another actual sighting.
But the only like woo-woo thing is like my wife and I'll be laying in bed and it's just us in his house.
And we'll hear somebody walk down the hall.
And we'll just look at each other.
And we have cameras in the house and we'll look at the cameras.
and there's not a soul in here.
Yeah, what's going on in the home could be something separate.
I don't know.
But I know you're kind of out there in the country.
And, you know, I've had hunters who've seen that predator thing.
I've had hikers.
I've had many eyewitnesses who have seen it.
And it happens enough, especially over the years to where you have to pay attention to it.
And it always throws me off when I hear it.
But I know people are seeing that.
And even guys on military bases, you know, where they're doing these war games,
I had a soldier one time tell me, oh, you know, I saw what looked like the predator.
And he was describing it to me.
And he says it's like pollution in the air or water in the air kind of in the shape of a person.
Water in the air.
That's a really good thing.
It's like it looked like a mold of water shimmering in the air.
I've never heard that.
But that's what it was.
Yeah, Dakota. I mean, there's so many weird things that happen in people's encounters. And, you know, when I very first got into this, I really thought it was an ape, some sort of North American wood ape we haven't caught up with. But I've heard so much stuff over the years and consistent, you know, information you get from eyewitnesses that don't know each other. And they're all kind of saying the same thing. Even the lights. You know, why is it these lights show?
up when these things are on people's property.
You know, that's another thing that is consistent, and it's just weird.
You know, I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is?
And there's no wrong answer, Dakota, because no one knows.
But if someone were to ask you, hey, what do you think Sasquatch is?
What would you say?
Every time you ask somebody this on every episode I listen to, I listen to them, go,
Wes, I have no idea.
And then they tell you something.
And I'm like, that's not a bad answer.
But I'm going to give you a bad answer.
I don't know.
Some days I'm with the woo, and I'm like, they're interdimensional beings,
and they're coming here hanging out.
And on the day that I feel like they're interdimensional,
I go, that wasn't a gorilla beating on a piece of sheet metal.
That was a Sasquatch slamming the door on a portal.
Other days, I'm like, they're flesh and blood creatures.
They were on the ark with Noah,
and they're somewhere in the Genesis 6 notion
just depends on the day
and what kind of mood I'm in, I guess.
Yeah, I don't think that's a bad answer at all, Dakota.
I think actually higher intelligent people
will do what you're doing
where it's like, okay, well, let me rethink this.
It's the people who, you know, it's hardcore, it's this,
and nothing else.
and these weird lights people are seeing, well, they're mistaken or, you know, it seemingly vanishes.
Well, they must be mistaken.
I think people who are highly intelligent will kind of take it all in and form an opinion based on that.
And it does change over time.
You know, there's times where I'm just like you, Dakota, I'm like, well, maybe it's this, maybe it's that.
I know growing up on this property, there's probably a million other things that have.
happened to you. We didn't talk about tonight, but I really appreciate you sharing the
experience of Dakota. And if you end up going back, I would love to know if anything happens
when you go back. I would love to go back out there, but I'm not going back out there by
myself. I'm going to have to get a party of Marines. I'm going to take Steel Team 6 out there
with me. And I'm going to be the first one in and the first one back out of there, too.
Yeah, I hear you. It's hard to argue with that for sure. If you do go back, please be safe.
But thank you again, Dakota, for taking the time to come on the show. I really enjoy chatting with you, man.
Yes, sir. Same to you. I appreciate it.
And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email.
