Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1084 I Thought I Was Dead

Episode Date: August 25, 2024

I will be speaking to David and Scott tonight. Scott writes "I just recently listened to episode 916 ( butter street monster) due to me living down the road from that area since I was 13 years old. No...w I'm 36 and I live in Germantown right off butter street, I take that road everyday to and from work. I transferred schools to Carlisle Ohio, in the 7th grade and lived off of Martz Paulin at the time of my sighting on morning star road. I bring up my story because butter street and morning star are extremely close together and are surrounded by the same wooded areas and metro parks. Around 2008 I was driving down this road called Morning Star road in the middle of the night and witnessed what I can only imagine is Bigfoot related, or a guy in a very expensive Halloween costume. Background history of Morningstar road. Local town stories of people being killed at a camp site on the road in the 70's, never really found any evidence about that part but there are some spooky spots on the road and some areas even now I would avoid at dark. Other stories from the road are an old house burnt down in the woods where the wife was running out in the middle of the road and was hit, or fell down the stairs and broke her neck(which ever side of the story is true I have no idea) ,which me and my friends were able to locate and find burnt remains of the forgotten house. Then the notorious Bigfoot sightings through out the years of this entire area. My stepmom was raised her whole life in Carlisle and recalls stories growing up of Bigfoot sightings along Morningstar road and twin creek(which bumps right up along the side of the road). I recall my old English teacher who told me a story of her returning home from the store one night and seeming a creature which she claimed was easily 7-8 feet tall walking across the street from one wooded part to the other. Anyways fast forward to my experience. It was dark out and winter time. There was snow on the ground which the moon light up and made it easier to see the wood line on the road. There's a few S type turns on Morningstar road that you have to really slow down on to maneuver safely on the road. Trees over lap these areas and make it really dark out at night with only your headlights guiding the way as any back country road is. While slowly going through one of the turns, there it was. Standing in between a tree or trees connected that formed a Y shape. It stood way taller than a normal size person and was covered in brown hair from head to toe from the angle we were seeing this at. At this point we were going less than 5 miles per hour due to the roads being slick and the S turn. So the detail of what I seen was burnt into my memory. What ever it was squirted its eyes and covered its eyes with its hand to prevent from the lights blinding it I assume. First thing I noticed right away was when the light shine on its eyes, they were a yellowish color, almost as it had jaundice or something of the sort. The creature flash its teeth a little bit as it raises its freakishly big hand over its eyes blocking the light. The teeth didn't seem to be in the best shape more browning yellow but bigger than normal human teeth. It turn its upper body and you can see the muscle definition in its back, tricep and lats before it turned the rest of its body and began walked down hill away from the vehicle. My friend began to freak out and scream while I began to yell just drive! My friend made it around the S type turn and floored it home. Which is only a min down the road. That image is forever remembered with clear detail. I tell this story all the time and everyone of my friends laugh at me lol, but it doesn't bug me. Me being a avid hunter , I think about this thing every time I step in the woods in the morning to hunt deer. It didn't show any signs of aggression but still a sighting that spooked me. I always try to debunk everything that happens out of the ordinary , but this one has stumped me. Like I stated earlier, it could of been some one in a costume, but it would of had of been a very expensive costume which I doubt that had 16 years ago. Would love to be on your podcast to tell my story. Huge fan! Thank you for taking the time to read this email."   I will also be speaking to David who was driving in the foothills of the Allegheny National Forest and a large creature stepped out in front of him. He describes the creature as massive. He said "I came to a screeching stop as this creature stepped out in front of me. He put his hands on my hood and looked at me. I have never been so terrified, our eyes locked. The creature then stood up and looked behind me and that's when something hit the back of the car. I never saw what it was but my airbags went off. The creature then walked off into the forest. Everything happened so fast. Being a formal Marine this felt like ambush." After hearing his encounter I don't think it was an ambush. I asked him if it was a rock that hit the back of the car and witness said it was something much bigger then a rock. It bent the frame of the rear of the jeep. Looking at the pictures you can tell the door no longer lines up with the frame.

Starting point is 00:00:03 It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind. And it either heard me or smelt me. And he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up. And that shocked me. They don't make people that big. The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything moved like that. my life.
Starting point is 00:00:42 They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forward. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet but what I saw were bears. What are you reporting? This is Ava from Hawaii and you're listening to my favorite podcast, Sasquatch Chronicle. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here tonight.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Got a great show plan for you. We'll be chatting with David. And David comes to us from Pennsylvania. And I actually had David on episode 904. I believe it was a member show. But David has actually a Marine. He's a veteran. Several years ago, he had an encounter.
Starting point is 00:02:33 He talks about this in 904. But it was several years ago. He was hiking. and it was kind of a quick glimpse of this creature as it went over this hill. But, you know, the last six months, I've talked to David several times on the phone. He had a pretty terrifying encounter. And again, this is only like six months ago. And he said he had felt like he had been ambushed.
Starting point is 00:02:58 And as we spoke on the phone, I'm not so sure it was an ambush. We'll also be chatting with Scott. and in 2008 in Ohio, Scott was out with his friends when they saw one of these creatures along the side of the road. And where Scott saw this creature, it's actually an area where the locals call the creature the Butter Street monster. And it's been seen for many years. But I'll let Scott go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Scott to the show. Scott, thanks for coming on. Thank you for having me. Yeah, and if you would, Scott, kind of take me back to 2008 in Ohio. what were you guys doing and walk me into what happened? What did you guys end up seeing?
Starting point is 00:04:07 I was coming home late with one of my friends. They were driving and they've always heard stories. They lived in Miami'sburg, which is a town right next to Carlisle. They've always heard stories about Morning Star Road and everything. And I would tell them the stories that I heard growing up, like there was rumors that there was a camp on there called Camp Hook. and there was some murders that happened in 70s on Camp Hook, which I never found information on that. I think it was just old stories they tell kids living there to, you know, just to get a laugh out of them,
Starting point is 00:04:42 or just to try to keep some history on the road being scary and haunted. But we were heading down the back road in the middle of the night, and it was in the winter, so there was snow on the ground. and there's areas on this road where the trees overlap and it's pitch black and it's specifically around these I call them S turns because it's resembles an S or kind of half of an ass but and you have to go real slow as it is with no snow on the ground let alone with snow so my buddy was going around the one turn and we had to be going less than five 10 miles per hour around this turn. And when his headlights hit up, the wood line there, there was a tree that was wide up at the
Starting point is 00:05:34 top. So you could see right through where the Y was formed. You can see right through the middle of it into the woods. And when he flicked on his high beams, there was something standing in between there.
Starting point is 00:05:50 This whole incident took it was at least five seconds at the most. but what I seen, I remember to this day, whatever it was, this creature or a guy in a suit or, or I don't know how to explain it, but it was, I'm six foot and it was way taller me. Like this thing would tower over me. And it was covered from head to toe and fur.
Starting point is 00:06:17 And when he hit his high beams, you can see like the eyes like dilate from the high beams hit. it and you can see the color of the eyes. They were a yellowish, orangish color. Like it had some jaundiced disease or something wrong with it to cause its eyes to turn yellow. And it kind of like squinted and showed its teeth. And its teeth weren't sharp, like razor sharp like people would describe.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Like, oh, I've seen this monster with razor sharp teeth. No, they were just unordinarily big. They look like human teeth. Not well taken care of human teeth. but they were just abnormally big. And then when it raised its hand up, that was another thing I noticed was when it raised his hand up to shield its eyes, its hand was like frequently big,
Starting point is 00:07:11 like way bigger than what a human being's hand should be. It kind of remind you of like some clown with fake hands, the match, it's ridiculously big feet. And after it covered its eyes up, it turned and started walking down the backside of the hill there past the tree line. And what I noticed when it did that, it was, you can see the tone and definition in like the lat area and like its tricep and bicep when it turned. And you can tell it had whatever it was, had a lot of muscle on that.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And I just remember this happened like three to five seconds. And me and my buddy, we started yelling, screaming, let's go, go, go, go, go. and I'm in the passenger seat on the side of whatever it was. It had to be less than 10 feet away from the creature in the tree. And I started climbing over to the driver's seat yelling, my buddy, to drive, like drive faster, drive faster, try to get away from it. And he sped off and I just, I remember going home and tell my dad this story.
Starting point is 00:08:18 You know, my dad, he always entertained, like, trying to scare me and everything like that. So he was, oh, let's go back and go. see it. And as, no, I'm cool. Like, I don't, I don't, I don't need to see that again. But as, as, as this experience was like, that's like burned in the back of my head. Like, I'm, I'm an avid hunter. So during deer season, Ohio, around the end of September, October, every morning when I go into my tree stand, like, it's like clockwork. I'm like, man, I hope I don't see that out here in this woods. Yeah, it's too bad in life. You can't unsee certain things. I know when you and I were talking the other day, you were telling me how close.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I mean, I was shocked how close you guys actually were to this thing. But, you know, you did a good job describing it. But, you know, when you look back on that moment, was there any particular details that really stood out to you? I would say the hands, how big the hands were. Like, that's pretty intimidating, you know, in this thing. This hand can easily wrap around my head. And then the fact that this thing was covered in hair, but you can still see the muscle definition underneath the quick second before it turned and walked out into the woods. Yeah, there's always the little details that kind of stay with you.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I know I have David coming up after you, and this thing had slammed its hands down on the hood, and he talked about how big the hands actually were. And most eyewitnesses do. You know, when you look at like Stacey Brown's thermal that him and his father captured down there in Florida, when you slow it down, you see it running in between the trees and the hands are huge. They look like a catcher's, like it has a catcher's glove on. How far away from you was this creature? It had to be 10 feet or less, easily 10 feet or less. Because when we're taking the turn, you've got to kind of pull to the right the way we're going. That gets you closer to the tree line so you don't cut across into the other lane.
Starting point is 00:10:32 So as slow as he was going and then pulling further into the turn there. But I'm almost certain he was following previous tire tracks on that road because it's a back alley road. And it's kind of like neglected during the winter because not many people live on. I think there's maybe like five houses on there. So if it gets hit by snowplow, it's last on the list. So I'm almost certain he was following someone else's tracks, which brought him closer to the tree line there. Yeah, I was going to ask you if you thought the creature was actually trying to cross the road.
Starting point is 00:11:04 But from listening to your encounter, it sounds like it was just walking down the road. Yeah, I assume it was just walking and just mining its own business. And we just happened to catch it either cross the road or maybe it was coming up the hill. until the spotlight's headed and then it turned around and walked past the hill. My buddy did make a comment when we got back, well, we should go back and see if there's tire marks. And then, you know, he was trying to hide me up for it. And then finally, you know, he came to the conclusion like, ah, man, I really don't want to go back either. We don't know what it was.
Starting point is 00:11:37 And I know that you're from Germantown there in Ohio, Scott. And that whole area kind of has a reputation of this Butter Street monster. and I know you're kind of skeptical about Sasquatch before you saw this saying, but, you know, after hearing some of those encounters growing up of this Butter Street monster, and then you guys see this creature on the side of the road, did you know what it was at the time? No, no. I really did.
Starting point is 00:12:08 My mind was racing like a million miles per second there. At first, being that young or whatever, all it's Bigfoot, it's Bigfoot. That's the first thought. comes in my head. But now, when I'm older, I'm just thinking, like, man, that could be a guy in a suit. But if it was a guy in the suit in 2008, like, he spent a lot of money in the suit with that suit or put into that suit. And then, you know, being in that area in the back woods, like, you run the risk of someone coming out and shooting you thinking like, hey, I killed Big Slut. I'm going to be a millionaire or something like that. But as far as the Butterstreet's right down the road from this area. So it's not too far off. It could be. be connected of what's roaming around in Butter Street. We had an English teacher growing up. She would tell us stories that avoid that area, Bigfoot's going to get you, and we're just, we, you know, we never took her serious, but she, she would tell us stories that
Starting point is 00:13:01 she was coming home one night. And Morning Star is separated from March Paul and from a, from a creek bed, or Twin Creek or whatever. So just, it's, it's a small little creek bed. you can walk, it's probably less than 50 feet to walk across onto the other road, which is a main road. She told us a story that she was just driving in the middle of the night, coming home from the grocery store, and she seen some creature just walking across the street, walked over the guardrail into the woods, and how she described it is dead on to what I've seen. And she said it was a freakishly tall, way bigger than any man that she can recall in her lifetime. And it just, as soon as her lights hit, it just walked over the guardrail into the woods.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And that was it. Like, didn't cause any harm. Wasn't trying to attack her or anything. It just seemed like it didn't want to be seen and wanted to get in the woods. And we've heard other stories growing up, too. Like, there was a, I recall 7th grade. maybe eighth grade that the butter street monster was was caught a recording of the butter street monster was caught over Germantown they played it over some radio show some local radio show
Starting point is 00:14:22 and you know of course being at that age that terrified us and we stayed away from morning star for a while meeting all my friends until we got brave enough one day to start riding our bikes down there and exploring some more yeah i know that area just from eyewitnesses i've had on the show And I know that there's a long history of it there in that Germantown area and kind of the surrounding area, really. You know, when you were that close to the thing, I mean, you're like 10 feet away from it. What you saw that night, I mean, would you consider it more manlike or would you consider it more like a non-human primate? I would say animal, just because the amount of hair had on it. And then, like I said, I brought up the teeth earlier, like the teeth were that there's no human being.
Starting point is 00:15:11 with teeth that big. I mean, they were, they were just, I'm going to keep using this word comically big, just like its hands were to be on a human. And the, like, the just amount of hair covering in it, just, it made no sense to be, to be a man. But its arms and structure and everything on its body was, man, like, it stood straight up. It had fingers, legs, arms and everything. They weren't in the shape of, like, how a bear is. Or it. have poles like a bear or anything. And I know it was an encounter, you know, 16 years ago, and I know it's still burned into your memory. If you had the chance, would you want to see another one? Oh, absolutely. This stuff, even though that scared me, like, this stuff always piques my interest now. Like, I, uh, outside of your podcast, I listened to a few others about Bigfoot, uh, I actually
Starting point is 00:16:05 a buddy I work with, we, we started looking into, like, joining one of these little organizations here that like get together and they just go out to these like haunted or they not haunted but these uh these sightings in different areas all over ohio but that that kind of fell through with who was running the organization but yeah absolutely i would i would love this experience this again can i ask you i ask everyone on the show what do you think saskwatch is and there's obviously no wrong answer but what's your take on it scott after seeing this saying 16 years ago man, I think it's its own creature. I think it is.
Starting point is 00:16:50 I think they're just, they've adapted for so long on surviving and not being found that there are rare sightings of it. But me personally, I think it's, I think it's its own species. I mean, new species of animals are discovered every day. And so who knows? You know, I've heard so many encounters out of this area where you guys. saw the creature Scott and the Butter Street monster goes back many, many years. And, you know, I don't think that there's a lot of people that live in that general region. Why do you think that they hang out in this area? Metro parks. I think it's because they're protected. There's no
Starting point is 00:17:33 hunting allowed. There's a they, I think out in the outskirts of Germantown, there's, You're allowed camping permits, but not the area of this spot in Carlisle or the spot I live at in Germantown now. There's no permit. So you're allowed hiking. That's it. And then you've got to be out there by dark. The park rangers and the game warden and everyone, they're pretty routine about going around there and making sure everyone's everyone's doing the right thing there. So I think it's just it's a spot where it's hunkered down that.
Starting point is 00:18:10 been there for a long time, it feels the safest there. I gotcha. So kind of being a resident there, you're thinking it's more of a safe place for them to hang out. And like I said, there's been so many reports from there over the years. I've always wondered what is so special about that area where people are seeing this creature. I know this happened to you over 16 years ago. And I know it was kind of a brief sighting, but I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share. what happened to you, Scott. Hey, no problem, man.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I want to welcome back to the show, David. And as I said there in the intro, David, I interviewed you. It was episode 904. And, you know, it was a couple of years ago, two, three, four years ago. And you, the glimpse, you kind of got a glimpse of it. A little bit better than a glimpse, but it was kind of on its way out heading over a hill. My memory's right. And over the last couple weeks, you and I have talked.
Starting point is 00:19:21 many times over the phone about what happened to you less than six months ago. And I know you're nervous about coming on because it was a pretty scary and intense encounter. And when you and I first spoke, you were thinking it was an ambush. But if you would, take your time, kind of start from the beginning. I know it happened in Pennsylvania. What were you doing? And what happened? All right.
Starting point is 00:19:47 So I was going up to my boyfriend. brother's cabin up in Kinsua, or Kinsu if some people call it. It's actually part of the Allegheny National Forest, and it's three hours away from where we live. And I was on the last road to get to him. And these roads up there, you don't have no cell phone service. They're dirt roads. Might have a little gravel here and there, but there are roads where you can't even drive. If you hit 35 miles an hour with all the pot holes in them too, you're lucky. So yeah, I was up near the, um, almost to New York up at the top of Pennsylvania. I was going down one of those roads that were really, really, like you can't, like I said,
Starting point is 00:20:36 if you get up to 35 hours an hour, you're lucky. So I had to have been doing 2530 miles an hour. And this, this thing stepped out onto the road right in front of me. and stop. And I had to jam on my brakes. And I don't know if I, I don't know how to explain it, but I jammed on my brakes and he was standing there in front of me and we locked eyes. And when we locked eyes, I didn't know what.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I was like, I think this is it. And then I saw his eyes go from at me right above my car and bam. the back end of my car got hit so hard. It lit up one of the airbags in the back. And I got whiplashed through the front. It hit me so hard, the seatbelt, the seatbelt locked. I don't know if you'd understand, like, if you try to put your seatbelt on too fast and you yank at it and it locks, that happened.
Starting point is 00:21:54 And if that wouldn't happen, I would have probably slam my face right into the steering wheel. And then when I picked my head back up, he was right in front of me with his hands on my hood. If being hit from behind pushed me into him or if my foot slipped off the brake and pushed me into him or if he came to me and stopped me. I'll never forget looking right at him. And I saw his hands on my hood. and the nails were like dirty and yellow and his hands were wrinkly and then and then the way he looked at me his eyes were big and dark I could see the wrinkles in his face like they were wrinkly all over his face like he was like an older man or something I don't know if maybe he wasn't being hydrated
Starting point is 00:22:55 out there but anyways so I remember the hands so but so much because they were so much because they were so huge. And I thought maybe, like I said, I don't know if I got pushed into him or if my foot got off the brake and my car just rolled into him, but he stopped my car. But right before all this happened, when he stepped out, he stepped out and looked at me and shrugged his shoulders at me, almost like, stop. you know, like he gave me that, I don't know if anybody's listening that has like been in a fight before or something, but when somebody wants to fight you, when they like shrug their shoulders at you, he threw them shoulders at me and I was like, I'm done. This is it. I'm dead. He was looking at me, shrugged his shoulders, and then his eyes went over top of my car. And as soon as his eyes went over top of my car, bang.
Starting point is 00:24:07 My car got pushed forward. I don't know. Or did it? I don't know. That's what I mean. But I looked up. When I finally looked up, I saw his hands on my hood of my car. And he was looking right at me.
Starting point is 00:24:24 And then he lifted his head up again and went. My God, I sound like a dumb ass. But, you know, it was like, like, like. And then he looked right at me. And his eyes were so dark and round. And his mouth was so huge. When he was going,
Starting point is 00:24:52 like his mouth opened. I could see his teeth. I could see his fingers. And then once he did that, he was looking over my car. And then he looked right back at me again and then wandered off. Like, get the hell out of here. It kind of seemed like when he looked,
Starting point is 00:25:12 I don't know. It's so hard to, explain. His eyes were so evil looking, like sinister looking almost, because they were so dark, black. But the expression on his face was sincere. It was like, I don't know, like, I'm your friend or something. I tore off. My back gate, the back gate of my Jeep, when he, whatever, whatever he, whatever he me from behind. It my back end of my Jeep opened like the back gate of it. And I drove another three hours back home, not knowing the damage of my car, not knowing nothing. I drove three hours almost all the way back home. And when I got home, I pulled myself in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Like I couldn't deal with this. It was so there's something banged the back end of my car, but whatever was in front of me, he saw it. He was looking at me and then looked up over to the top of my car and then boom. And then that's when I saw his hands on the hood of my car and I looked into his face. And then he let out that yell, that rah, rah, rah, rah, and I was like, I thought I was done for. I was like, this is it. It tacked me from behind. He's in front of me.
Starting point is 00:26:55 He's screaming at me. Like that scream rung my ears. It wrung my ears. It was so loud. It was so loud. Yeah, I hear you, man. I know the fear is haunting from that day. You know, so when he actually vocalized,
Starting point is 00:27:17 he was vocalizing at you. Yes. Like, I thought I was dead. I really did. I really thought I was, that was it. I'm done. There's one that hit me from me. behind and then now he's screaming like that.
Starting point is 00:27:34 He was in front of my car. He did that. And he had an erection. Yeah. So it sounds like it was male, obviously an alpha male. It was definitely a freaking male. Like I said in your intro, you got that English, that English lady. And it's not the one that sounds like it's saying, what the, but it was the, but it was
Starting point is 00:28:01 the next one after that, where it goes like, and they blew my ears out. It literally blew my ears out. And I thought I was done for it. Yeah, I probably would have been on the same page as you. Definitely, David. I would have been just as terrified as you are. And, you know, when you go and recount what happened to you,
Starting point is 00:28:23 mentally you go right back in that moment. And I know from more on a humorous part, there is one of the vocalizations. I bleeped it out there, but it does sound like it's saying, what the F? I'm not so sure that I hear that, but I hear other people say that.
Starting point is 00:28:40 And the English lady that you're talking about was Claire. And from talking to you offline, I know this is kind of, I'll pull it from the intro here. I know this is kind of what you were hearing. It's definitely a scary vocalization. And this isn't like in the middle of the night. Is this daytime when this is happening to you,
Starting point is 00:29:04 David? No, this, no, this was, it was getting dark. It wasn't daylight, but it wasn't moonlight, you know, it was, I guess what would you call it dusk? In the area I was, that the roads I was driving down were dark. They were, you know, up in the Alleghenian National Forest, you're driving down these roads. It's pretty dark. And you know, when we were very first talking, David, I was asking you, I was like, was it a rock that hit the back of the Jeep? I mean, and you had sent me pictures of the Jeep, and I'll post them up on Sasquatch Chronicles.com. I'll blur out your license plate.
Starting point is 00:29:45 But when you look at the back of this Jeep, I mean, something big hit the back of this Jeep. It bent the frame. The door doesn't line up anymore. There was some force there that hit you. And you did a good job at describing it. When you look back now, I know this was less than six months ago, but when you look back now, what were some of the features of this creature that really stood out to you? Yeah, like when I finally, my head came back up.
Starting point is 00:30:17 And for the audience also, I'm sorry, I've had back problems since this. I have a pinched sciatic nerve. And I don't know if you know anybody that has that. It sucks. It's horrible. It's been so painful. I had two inflamed discs after this accident and a pinch sciatic nerve. But I know we're getting at. So, holy crap. When I first, like, the final look that he gave me, like his eyes, his skin, his, I'm just all over the place right now because it was super scary.
Starting point is 00:31:03 But so after I got hit in the back and his hands were on my hood, I could see his fingernails. They were yellow. But I wasn't sure if it was the yellow from my headlights that were doing it at first. But when I actually looked at them, they were yellow like dead. And then I turned my head up to him. And his face was so dark. It was really dark. I don't want to say black, but maybe gray, grayish black.
Starting point is 00:31:41 But the wrinkles in his face were amazing to me. They were just super amazing for me. And then I focused on his eyes. And when I focused on his eyes, they were big and black. and like I was terrified of what was in front of me. Like he looked at me like he was maybe trying to save me from what was going to bust my ass. I don't know, man. Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:18 He literally looked like a person. He literally looked at me sincerely. Yeah. And I know from talking to you offline, we've had several conversations. and, you know, I was kind of listening to your encounter, kind of thinking about it. And I know you were thinking in the beginning it was some sort of weird ambush. And the more I listened to it, I'm not so sure it was an ambush. But when this very first happened to you, what was kind of your initial thoughts?
Starting point is 00:32:51 And I know that you don't know and I don't know. But, I mean, why do you think this happened? I thought it happened because like I said, it was a dark, you know, a dark road that's, sorry, Wes, I need to catch my breath a second. But so to me it was, it was a dark road. It was, you know, a gravel, dirt, dark road. And my car was loud. And it might have pissed something off. But I did not think it would piss that off.
Starting point is 00:33:25 and I think the one stopped me in front of me because I thought they were attacking me. That was it. I literally thought my life was going to be over. As big as this thing was in front of me, he could have ripped my door of my car. I thought they were hunting me. Yeah, and I could understand why your first thought would go to,
Starting point is 00:33:53 you know, I'm being ambushed. I think my first thought would have been that as well. But, you know, when you listen to the encounter, especially with the muffler, there's something about that loud sound that seems to piss them off. There's encounters with guys on Harleys and these things coming out of the woods and almost kind of confronting them on the road. And I kind of think it was a muffler that was just kind of pissing these things off. But your situation is a little bit different. I mean, something's chasing you from behind. you're on a gravel road. You can't hear much because you're a muffler.
Starting point is 00:34:30 So you probably had no clue what was coming up from behind. And obviously it was something. You know, and he steps out into the middle of the road, you come to a stop. The damage on the back of the car, or the back of your Jeep, it reminds me of, you know, like when you get in an accident and someone's coming up from behind
Starting point is 00:34:53 and they hit their brakes and they try and, you know, stop. It doesn't collapse the back of your car, but it's a good way to bend the frame having an impact like that. So whatever it was, it was big that hit you, but I don't know what was actually chasing you. You know, was it another one of these creatures? Was it something from a different family group? Because these things are very territorial. and then you have the big alpha male step out, whatever was chasing you probably was like,
Starting point is 00:35:26 oh crap, you're stopped, tried to stop, and then was like, oh, crap, he's standing right there. I mean, that's kind of, of course I wasn't there. I'm just kind of giving you my opinion, but I kind of don't think it was an ambush, man. I mean, if it was an ambush, there'd be no reason to slam into the back of you from behind. But even if they did,
Starting point is 00:35:48 there's no nothing is going to stop them from reaching through that windshield grabbing you and there's really nothing you can do about it or tear your door off and take you with them. There's really nothing you're going to do to stop it. And he didn't do that. You know, he kind of stood there and he kind of gave his weird vocal and then he marched off back into the woods. So it doesn't sound like an ambush to me. That vocalization that you heard, I interviewed Dakota,
Starting point is 00:36:18 couple shows ago. And Dakota was talking about that. And him and his friend had heard that same vocal, here I'll play it again. And when they heard this, his friend thought it was laughter, like it was laughing. Or maybe Dakota thought that I can't, might have mixed that up. But the other guy didn't think it was laughing. He said it sounded like mumbling. When it was vocalizing at you, what do you think that was about? I mean, was he just kind of giving you a what for? Well, well, that's when I thought I was dead. Like, I literally thought I was dead.
Starting point is 00:37:01 To me, it feels like maybe like you were saying that he was trying to stop it. Yeah, I kind of think that's what was going on. I mean, if he was that pissed off at you, trust me, you would have known it. He wouldn't have put his hands on your hood. He would have slammed his fists into your hood. and, you know, I get that from other eyewitness reports where they come out and they're enraged.
Starting point is 00:37:27 The cabin you were heading up to your brother's cabin, is it like a hunting cabin? No, he bought property up there. Well, yeah, I mean, he does hunt, but he brought property up there because he wants to live up there. And he's got bears on his property. He's got all this stuff going on, you know. But at the same time, I'd say I even kept telling us. I'm like, don't feed the bears. Don't feed this.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Don't do that. But, well, I love seeing the bears come around. I'm like, well, you're a moron. But I was literally probably 15 miles away from him on this dark road. And this thing stepped out. And then my car got bashed. And I'm not knowing the, not knowing the, hold on, I'm sorry. not knowing what the not knowing what happened to my vehicle i turned around and drove three hours
Starting point is 00:38:26 back home and then i locked myself inside concrete walls i just can't do it anymore i'm too terrified i used to love hiking i can't do woods anymore yeah and i know it's a very recent encounter i mean we're talking less than six months ago you know i i really would incur and time helps time helps, you know, I would encourage you to go back to the location. You know, it's one of those things to where I think like some healing goes on when you go back. I mean, is it going to make you whole again? No. But there is something about going back to the location.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Have you thought about going back? I have, but because I love the woods. You know, I love being in the woods. but after this I don't know I was terrified I locked myself inside concrete walls just to keep myself inside
Starting point is 00:39:28 because I was that terrified watching this I don't even know what hit me from behind you know like I didn't get a I didn't get a glimpse of what hit me from behind it was just I don't know how to
Starting point is 00:39:47 planet. Yeah, and it was big. Whatever it was, it was big. You know, that, that rear end, that frame is definitely bent on that Jeep. And, you know, it makes me wonder about him just kind of walking off afterwards. Maybe it wasn't necessarily like a threat to him. Makes me wonder, maybe it was like a juvenile or something. Maybe his juvenile. And he was like, nope, nope, nope, nope, you know, and I'm speculating, of course. But the fact that he didn't go after whatever was chasing you makes me wonder. Wes, I'm glad you said that because after we talked the other night, I actually thought about that. I was like, I wonder if it was a juvenile and it heard my loud muffler and it kind of pissed it off.
Starting point is 00:40:34 And then you had the dad or whatever that was like, get away. Don't do it. How big do you think this thing actually was? He was so tall. His waist was over top of the hood of my car. And he hadn't, he was a male. Trust me, he was a male. Yeah, which is even more terrifying.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I mean, the females are big, but the males are way more intimidating. You know, many years ago, you had that sighting we talked about on episode 904 when you were hiking and you saw the thing kind of go up over the hill. And we kind of talked about his shoulders. I know it got a glimpse, but a little bit better than a glimpse. But now you're in a situation where the saying has its hands on your hood
Starting point is 00:41:22 and you're looking into the face of it. Has your opinion changed as far as what you think these things are? Yes. Yes and no, to be honest. But yes, because that sincere look that he gave me, after he like like I said I don't remember if when it hit the back of my car if he stopped it or if I slid forward and then he stopped it but the look he gave me was sincere I remember thinking like oh my God I'm about to be eaten and then when he ran off and then I had a chance
Starting point is 00:42:09 to talk to you and you said that you really think that he tried to save me. So it's kind of, it's difficult to say, but at the same time, what I think Bigfoot is when I last talked to you, to me, a blood in, you know, he's a blood living creature. And the way he looked at me with those dark black eyes and had sincere, sincere, sincereness in it. That's the only way I can put it. So to me, that's like a human attribute. Yeah, and make no mistake, I don't have a lot of love for these creatures, but there is
Starting point is 00:42:52 moments to where you hear encounters and there does seem to be some weird humanity in them, not always, but more often than not, you know, sometimes you hear their behavior and I'm like, you know, that's something I would do. That doesn't sound like something an animal would do. But, you know, I know it's been tough on you. It's hard on the soul. I don't think he was trying to hurt you. And if I did, believe me, I'd be first to say it.
Starting point is 00:43:22 But I really don't think that's what was going on here. But I would really encourage you to go back to the location because it does help. There is some healing in that. I know. When I talked to you the other day, it's just like I don't know what to do. Like, I don't know how to talk about it. You know, it's just, I'm terrified still. Yeah, and I understand the way you feel.
Starting point is 00:43:46 I truly think time will help. And, you know, if you're in a position where you need to talk about it, give me a call. Yeah, my cell phone number. And I know how hard it is to come on the air and talk about, you know, a scary event like this because you go back to reliving it. But I'm glad that you decided to come back on, man. I really enjoyed chatting with you, and thank you so much for coming on. Yeah, no problem. You know, you always say if something else happens, I'd like to hear it.
Starting point is 00:44:18 But this is really hard for me to do, but I appreciate you so much because you literally are like the only person that us, you know, us in this world can talk to. I appreciate it. Thank you again, David. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Starting point is 00:44:51 And I'm sure everyone's burnout on politics. And this isn't a political thing. I came up in my feed the other day. And it's not really a political speech. It's more of an inspirational speech from Ronald Reagan. one of my favorite presidents. I hope you find it inspiring, as I did. Until next time, everyone.
Starting point is 00:45:14 If we look to the answer, as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on earth, it was because here in this land, we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Freedom and the dignity of the individual have been more available.
Starting point is 00:45:37 and assured here than in any other place on earth. The price for this freedom at times has been high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look. The sloping hills of Arlington National Cemetery with its row upon row of simple white markers, bearing crosses or stars of David,
Starting point is 00:46:10 they add up to only a tiny fraction of the price that has been paid for our freedom. Each one of those markers is a monument to the kind of hero I spoke of earlier. Their lives ended in places called bellow wood, the Argonne, Omaha Beach, Salerno, and halfway around the world on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Pork Chop Hill, the Chosin Reservoir, and in a hundred rice patties and jungles of a place called Vietnam.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Under one such marker lies a young man, Martin Tretown, who left his job in a small town barbershop in 1917 to go to France with the famed Rainbow Division. There on the Western Front, he was killed trying to carry a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire. We're told that on his body was found a diary. On the fly leaf, under the heading, my pledge, he had written these words. America must win this war. Therefore I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure. I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone.
Starting point is 00:47:48 We must realize that no arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have. It is a weapon that we as Americans do have. Let that be understood by those who practice terrorism and prey upon their neighbors. As for the enemies of freedom, those who are potential adversaries,
Starting point is 00:48:19 they will be reminded that peace is the highest aspiration of the American people. American people. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it. We will not surrender for it now or ever. We are Americans.
