Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1087 The Creature Waved At Me

Episode Date: September 7, 2024

Sean writes "Originally I wrote this a few years back when I first started listening to your show after my brother introduced it to me. Though I decided what I encountered at the time wasn't big foot ...cause it didn't really match my understanding of Bigfoot was, so I chalked it up to a weird encounter. More recently I've come across episodes talking about Sasquatch throwing rocks and mimicking people speaking that made me reconsider. My strange encounter was brief but memorable, I was working on a campsite in a valley back behind my moms house, this is a suburb next to a protected forest but like the very tip of it. I spent a week down there building a proper fire pit, occasionally I'd see the odd hiker come by and I'd wave hello or they would be on there way. Well this time I saw someone walk out the path I'd usually see the hikers come out and I noticed they were fairly tall, and wearing a fur coat and then a puff jacket around their waist. My first thought was "well someone doesn't get out to the woods much" since they were wearing a black fur dress coat. They stopped in the middle of the path waved at me and said "hello" Expect they sounded tone def when they said "hello". I stood up and waved and said hello, when I first stood up they slightly ducked as if I startled them which I thought was strange. They said hello again and continued to wave which at this point I was thinking they weren't all there. They smiled and it honestly creeped me out. They had an extremely wide smile. I watched them curiously as I kneeled back down to make it looked like I was working and grabbed my hammer. They then ducked behind a tree and kept popping there head out as if they were playing peakaboo with me. At this point I thought they were a druggy because of the behaviour. They walked behind some fallen trees and brush and it looked like they climbed up into a tree and continued this peekaboo game. I no longer saw them then later a rock hit the other side of the valley, my first thought was some kids threw it down from above I looked and saw nothing. Then I saw another one and saw where it came from it was from this brush about 70-80 yards away. Where I saw the person walk off. This second rock was about 10 feet short of me which freaked me out then I saw this person those the rock and this time it landed right next to me. I bolted and run up the valley through someone's backyard straight home. When I went back a week later with my partner at the time we checked out that area I saw the person and there was nothing to stand on I pointed out where there head would have been and it had be close to 8-9ft. Using me as a reference I'm 6ft flat and I put my arms up and it still didn't reach where I saw their head. I'm thinking maybe I did see a teenager Sasquatch and it was screwing with me. I'm not really looking to be on an episode I'll leave that up to you but I'd like to hear what you think." Then we will wrap up with Myles from New Mexico. He had a encounter in New Mexico while camping with friends. A lot of strange things happened during this trip but the following night terrified the group and they left immediately when the sun came up.

Starting point is 00:00:00 It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that shocked me. They don't make people that big. The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything moves like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards.
Starting point is 00:00:54 I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears. What happened what are you reporting? Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That's son of a bitch is about six of a six years. Bitch is about six foot nine. I don't know. Do you see a bouncer? Yes, I'm looking right in it. Uh-uh.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Well, hello, my fellow believers. This is Luke from Bend, Oregon, and I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Sasquatch Chronicles. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. You know, a couple of years ago, I got dental implants, and if you want to know the whole story, go back and listen to episode 692, and I kind of explained the whole thing. the issue I was having is I was breaking them about every 68 months, which is quite painful because you're actually breaking the bone and your jaw.
Starting point is 00:02:37 And I couldn't figure out why. And I would wake up in pain. My jaw would be completely swollen. And, you know, after 40 plus years of being on this planet, I had no idea that I actually grind my teeth at night. And that's what actually was breaking them. And I've resolved the issue, thank God. And everything's fixed.
Starting point is 00:02:57 But, you know, during that time I was swollen and I would still try to continue to do the shows with a swollen, busted up mouth. And I would get emails from people and they would ask me if I was drunk or hammered on certain shows. And it would be less humiliating to say, you know, yeah, I was hammered. But that's not really the truth. I'm sure after I address this, I'll still get emails asked me if I was hammered on certain shows. But that's the update. I'm doing much better. And I want to thank a lot of people have emailed me and said, hey, I hope you're healing fine.
Starting point is 00:03:32 And a lot of the members ask that. And I really do appreciate that. But that's the update. Appreciate you guys being here tonight. We'll be chatting with Sean. And back in 2018, he had a run in there in Ontario, Canada. Kind of a fascinating account, really. The creature waved at him.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And I've heard that a couple times before. and I kind of shared that with Sean, but I'll let Sean go through the whole encounter and explain what happened. And then we'll wrap up with Miles, who is from New Mexico, and he had a scary night back in 2012 while camping, and I'll let Miles go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email.
Starting point is 00:04:18 My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com, and if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles, You can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Sean to the show. Sean, thanks for coming on. Yeah, honestly, thank you for taking the time out of your day to talk. I really appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Yeah, man. And back in 2018, you had this encounter in Ontario. If you would, just kind of start from the beginning. What were you doing and what happened? Yeah, my best approximation was this was 2018. This is Dundas, Ontario. The area is essentially like a small town built, I want to say like wartime era homes. And back behind there is like a valley that goes next to a highway.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And then that forest region is like a, kind of like protected forest and all that. So it's relatively older trees that like, even though these trees are like in the valley, they still like tower over the homes up on the hill. A lot of pine trees and things like that. So the reason I started going back there is like I found this trail. It was a deer trail originally.
Starting point is 00:05:47 And I was big into the show, if you're familiar, primitive technology. it's this guy that basically would just go back behind his house and just like build a hut from scratch. So I was big into that and I wanted to do something like that. And I figured since I moved into this new area that had a forest behind it, I would take advantage of that. And I kind of like beaten out this deer trail into like an actual trail. And then like, you know, eventually people started using it and walking their dogs down it and all that. So I kind of was like the first one on making this trail.
Starting point is 00:06:21 and I mean, I was not supposed to do this, but I've made a fire pit. And the reason why is originally I just made like kind of like a stone guard sculpture type of thing. And somebody turned it into a makeshift fire pit and it wasn't safe. So then I, this is kind of where the story happens. This was like, I want to say like a year later, I came back and decided to make it like an actual functioning fire pit. So I dug out like a three foot hole And I probably spent a whole week there back to back I would like go early in the morning
Starting point is 00:06:59 Finish when I was starting to get dark and I was getting tired And like I'd grab rocks to smash up and turn into gravel And and on one of these days I I had gone down there and it was My back's approximation would be like it's probably like autumn I was smashing up some rocks with a hammer to make some smaller gravel to so like when it rained the water washed out. It was a relatively quiet day.
Starting point is 00:07:30 I was listening to like a podcast, like a D&D podcast, just because it was quiet. I was like decided it was quiet enough to listen to a show. And I know, I had this feel. I was being watched, which wasn't honestly strange because there's homes around there. So every once in a while there was this lady, she would pop out from her backyard and ask me how it's going, like building the fire pit. And I'm like, oh, it's good.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Like, I'm on day three. It's blah, blah, blah. I have a short little conversation. She's like, all right, just have it. Be careful. And because of this trail I'd beaten out, there would be a lot of people that, like, would walk their dogs and stuff. And, again, I'd see some of those people.
Starting point is 00:08:16 It was very rare. I'd see like once in a blue moon. I'd see somebody walk by. I'd say hello. And so at this time, I kept getting this feeling like on this ridge. For visual, it's this valley that you enter in through a park. On the right-hand side is this probably, I want to say like 55, 60-foot valley. And that's where the homes are placed on the right-hand side.
Starting point is 00:08:47 and it opens up into a forest. And on the left-hand side is the same type of thing, but it's just not as steep. And on that side is a graveyard. And a few times I had noticed on specifically that side, it would look like people were looking at me, but then ducked behind a tree. And sometimes I would see somebody. Other times it was what I just mentioned, someone ducking behind a tree. And I figured it was just people in the graveyard.
Starting point is 00:09:15 yard. And so one of these times I saw somebody walking down from that side, which I didn't often, if any at all. And this person, in my mind, a person walks down from this hill. And at this point is closer to me and they're kind of walking away. And they get to the bottom of this valley and they're about like 60-70-ish yards away from me. And, my first thought of this person was they probably don't get out much because it looked like to me that they were wearing like a fur coat like a fancy black shiny fur coat
Starting point is 00:10:01 and then they also had this is the weird part looking back they had like a puff jacket wrapped around their waist so I can't remember if I waived first or if they waived after I'm going to assume I waved first and said hello. And then this thing waved back at me and said hello.
Starting point is 00:10:23 And the weird thing about it is like they sounded like tone deaf. Like if you've ever, like I used to have a class with a classmate who was deaf and they would speak occasionally. And it sounded like if your ears were plugged or I don't. a hard time describing it, but like, you know what I mean? Like, it gave me kind of like they were on like the spectrum of like how they were pronouncing it. Like it was very like, oh, droned out like that. And they said hello and I was like, I thought it was a bit like that.
Starting point is 00:11:01 That was my first thought. It was like they were on the spectrum. They were kind of moving around kind of like gangly. Like, like, you know how like a teenager is kind of like floppy when they walk around. Yeah, just kind of awkward. Yeah, it was awkward walking. And so they waved to me, said hello, and I waved. And then they said it again and waved.
Starting point is 00:11:26 And I was like, hello. Like, it was getting weird at this point. I'm like, I already said hello. And then they're saying hello again. And it was either two or three times, enough to make me feel weird about it. And they smiled. And that's the part that kind of freaked me out because their smile was like massive. and I was like
Starting point is 00:11:45 I'm getting little jitters sorry their smile I don't know just look it didn't look natural it was very big it was very wide and I came across
Starting point is 00:12:00 this like image of a chimpanzee smiling once and it's like has its hand out and it's like in a river I'll send it to you but that's the kind of it was very toothy and wide I think the wideness was the part that was the most unsettling about it.
Starting point is 00:12:20 But it gave me like an uncanny feeling, if that makes sense. So it was just like it started out normal and then it started kind of getting weird as it went on. And it progressively got weirder. So I had stood up and I had a hammer in my hand from smashing the rocks. And I had put it down to like wave after like the second. or third hello. I was like, this is weird. I'm just going to go back to doing what I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I crouched down, implying that I was getting back to work to this person, like, given the person a social cue, I'm like, I'm kind of done with this conversation. But I noticed, like, their social behavior wasn't quite there, which also kind of, in my mind, solidified, like, I think this person's on the spectrum. I'm like, they're interacting with me, but not quite normally. I wasn't scared or anything. Just like kind of weirded out by this whole encounter. It was awkward.
Starting point is 00:13:22 I'll put it that way. So then they, oh, I forgot to mention, like, when they walked out, my first approximation was it was a woman in a fur coat. I'm going to assume it was the fact that they were wearing a fur coat that gave me that impression. And they were very tall. And my brain went, oh, there must be like, like Scandinavian or something, like awfully tall from that distance.
Starting point is 00:13:51 I couldn't tell how tall, but just like very tall, very, uh, very, uh, gangly, like skinny. I thought they were wearing like sunglasses because I couldn't see their eyes and their, their face was like relatively pale. Um, I, I, my brain, I was trying to like, find, it was hitting gaps of like things aren't making sense, but like I'm trying to make sense of it. Because they had like very, very black hair that was like just as black as their fur coat.
Starting point is 00:14:23 And this is where it got weird was they ducked behind a tree. And then we're kind of like playing peekaboo with me. And I got really weirded out by that, like unsettled by that. Because I was like, is this person like mentally okay? Is this a homeless person who's like off the rocker or like on drugs or something?
Starting point is 00:14:41 then. Um, and yeah, they kept, kept poking their head out from behind this tree. And they like, one foot stepped out with like a hand with like, I don't know if you ever done this, but like if you've ever had a cat and like you duck behind a wall and then like to play with a cat or like something like that. It felt like this, they were trying to play with me. And it was weird. It was weirded out by it. So I kind of just paid it no mind. And then they kept like peekabooing behind this tree and then would step out every once in a while, like kind of like crouching with the hands out and like a squat type of thing. Like like goofily pretending to be spooky.
Starting point is 00:15:33 You know what I mean? Yeah, like they're just screwing around with you. Yeah, screwing around with me. And then would go back and then duck behind the tree. but not, like, actively hiding in the sense that, like, I could still see them the whole time. Like, their head or their shoulder or foot would still be poking out. Like, I still knew where they were the whole time. And I think one of the times is that they jumped out and it kind of startled me.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Like, they jumped out further than before. And this is still, like, I think this is past 70 yards now. This is probably like 80 or 90. So they went back further. But it just gave me a. a reaction and I kind of stood up faster. And then I noticed by me standing up and I had the hammer in my hand, it seemed like they got freaked out and then actually hid behind the tree this time.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Then I didn't see them for a bit. And I just, I kind of figured they had walked off. And I was like, all right, I was keeping an eye on that area because it was weird. And I was just like cautiously keeping an eye over there. and kind of went back to hammering at these rocks. And when I'm doing that, I'm in this fire pit. And to the right of me is like a small stream with a whole bunch of rocks and boulders, or not boulder.
Starting point is 00:16:57 So rocks, pebbles, things like that. About the size of football or smaller. On the other side is just another flat area with some trees and stuff. And I noticed this rock hits the ground with like this big thud and it's on the other side of the stream. And I'm trying to look around to see where it came from. It's one of the river rocks and I'm trying to like rationalize where it came from because it was like relatively close from me. I'd say like probably maybe like 20, 30 feet away from me. and I was figuring, oh, maybe like a rock fell down from the homes above,
Starting point is 00:17:43 like from someone's backyard garden or something like that. But I was looking at the distance of where it fell, and it was relatively deep in the mud. So my brain was like, well, that doesn't make sense. And then I was like looking up to these homes. I'm like, maybe somebody threw it down from these homes because that would be close enough for that to make sense. because it was a relatively big rock.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I'd say like if weight wise, maybe like five, four pounds. So it would make sense if someone had thrown it down because you're not going to be like Olympian chucking that far. And then I saw another one on that side, but a bit closer to me, maybe like five, seven feet closer. And I figured maybe it was some kids around screwing with me because there was a few times this camp set I made kind of got wrecked a bit, and I assumed it was just some kids.
Starting point is 00:18:41 I never saw the kids, but that was my assumption to be like some annoying kids' behavior. And I didn't see any kids, but I was just trying to like rationalize it. And then I saw where the rocks came from. So that same area where I had seen that thing. It was a bunch of trees and a few that had fallen over and behind that was like these grassy fields. They were relatively tall, I'd say, maybe seven foot tall like cattails and things like that. And I had seen that same individual pop out like their shoulder and their arm and I saw them throw the rock. and it landed
Starting point is 00:19:31 like less than two feet right to me which gave me the impression A, they can throw it that far and B, they're aiming at me and that was like that rock could like cave my head in if it hit me so I just booked it
Starting point is 00:19:52 and thankfully that same lady that I was referencing who would like come say hello every once in a while and check in on me building this pit. She had like made, or like someone in her family made this like makeshift walkway out of, out of the mud and sticks. So it was less of a steep incline. And I kind of at my pace was like using each layer of this trail as like a step because I was just so scared at that point and just like booked it out and then ran home at that point.
Starting point is 00:20:29 and I think I made it like halfway home before I like just like ran out of air. So that freaked me out and then eventually I got home and kind of was just, I felt fine, but a little weirded out if anything. I didn't think they would follow me, but I was like if they were, they could run through the valley and then come out that side. I was just freaked out. And so I told my,
Starting point is 00:20:55 I think I told my mom about it and I told my partner at the time about it and kind of just chucked it up to like just one weird person. It wasn't odd for there to be homeless people in that area. So the one thing that stuck out in my mind was just the fact that they could throw a rock that far was insane and the size of this person. Because I had seen them next to this tree where they had thrown this rock. There was like a broken branch, like near where their head was, so I could see clearly, like, their head lined it up with that branch, right? So we went back, I think, like, a week or so later, maybe two, because I was still a little
Starting point is 00:21:43 weirded up, but I went with my partner and, what did I do? I think it was, I either got her or myself to hold a stick and then point it at the point of where I saw their head. And, like, I'm six foot flat. And the reason I know is I have like one leg that's like slightly shorter. So I'm like 5.11 and a quarter on that foot and then six and a quarter on the other. So I just even out about six. And putting my arm up all the way, it still didn't reach where this person's head was,
Starting point is 00:22:24 which was concerning. And I had it like a branch that probably added. over eight nine feet tall and I've never seen a person that tall I've seen like I've seen some relatively tall people like bridging on like 7 11 or like 7 8 something like that it just didn't make sense
Starting point is 00:22:47 at that point I'm like oh maybe they they crawled up into the tree and they weren't actually that tall and they were just like they had climbed up it and that was my thinking so then I went behind where this like this blockade of trees and all that that stuff. And I found the coat there that they had wrapped around their waist. It was like a gray puff jacket and it was just like discarded on the ground. And that kind of solidified because it was like maybe I imagine the whole thing. And then seeing that jacket on the ground kind of like re-solidified the fact that no, what I saw was like that that day went down.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Like that whole encounter happened. And I didn't think much past it other than it was weird. Like, it was just strange. I wasn't, like, fearful for my life until they started chucking rocks at me. I just thought, like, they were being violent towards me. But when, like, my first intro to meeting this individual, like, I, I just assume they were friendly and screwing around with me, because that's very much what it felt like. It was just, like, messing with me in a sense, yeah. Let me ask you, Sean. Was it actually wearing clothes? It had just like the puff jacket around its waist.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Like, you know, it's a hot day and kind of like wrap it around your waist. And that's what made me think this person doesn't go out in the woods much because they got a frigging fur coat on and they're in a puff jacket around its waist. And I don't know if I've ever heard of stories of a Bigfoot wearing clothes. I don't think I have. and I don't even honestly I don't even know if I could say what I saw was Sasquatch Bigfoot because it's still
Starting point is 00:24:32 just like a bunch of question marks in my head and yeah yeah there's actually some historical accounts of them taking clothes you know before the washer and dryer they would take clothes off clothes lines and there's a famous
Starting point is 00:24:48 case actually up in British Columbia of people seeing this thing in like a woman's nightgown, and a lady in the area, a neighbor down the road, said that she had seen this saying taking clothes off of her clothesline. But, you know, a lot of times I'll talk to eyewitnesses and they'll see these creatures and they'll go, you know, I thought it was a guy with a fur coat on and had sunglasses on. And the closer they look at it, the more they realize that's not a fur coat, that isn't sunglasses. You know, their eyes are so big.
Starting point is 00:25:24 and black from a distance, people are thinking it's wearing sunglasses. From what you saw, did you get the impression like it was actually wearing a fur coat? I think my first impression was those things, but the more I looked, it wasn't making sense because the fur coat was fur pants and there was no sleeve. Like there was, you know how like the sleeve gets bigger towards the bottom for your hand to go through, It was just like this black, shiny fur all over. But my brain was just, my brain was trying to tell me. And I think that that was the biggest thing through all of this.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I was fighting what I was seeing and my brain was trying to rationalize to make sense of it all. But it wasn't making sense. And visually thinking back and looking back, I don't think it was sunglasses. because I didn't see the bridge where the sunglasses would rest on your nose. And I noticed they had like relatively big brow. And I was thinking like perhaps what I was seeing was how big their brow was like putting shade over their eye. Because I didn't like when they turned their head and things, they didn't see sunglasses. But it just gave the effect as it looked.
Starting point is 00:26:50 It was so dark around their eyes. It looked like they were wearing sunglasses. and I saw like a white glint, which I assumed was like the reflection on the sunglasses on where the eye would be in like the center. So it kind of looked like these two like black blobs with like tiny little white eye shine in the center. In the moment my brain was trying to convince me what I was seeing was a really tall woman in a fur coat.
Starting point is 00:27:22 but processing the details, that's, I don't think, what I saw. Yeah, and I was telling you, Sean, you know, a couple years ago, I interviewed this farmer and he would see this creature. And it wasn't very big. I want to say it was like five or six feet tall, but he would see it all the time on his property. And he didn't know what it was. He wasn't thinking Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:27:46 He just thought this is a weird, you know, the ugliest thing I've ever seen. But it kind of followed him around. the farmer and would watch him. It never really hurt anything or hurt him. And he started waving to this thing and saying hello and he would wave to it. And after a while, it would wave back to him, almost like a human. And I asked him, I said, you know, did you ever talk to your neighbors and ask them if they've ever seen anything weird around this area? And he said, yeah, I talked to my neighbor. And he said, yeah, I have seen this weird creature roaming around. He goes, but the weirdest part is it waved at me. And I think it's weird in this situation, it waved as well.
Starting point is 00:28:29 In your encounter, Sean, would you kind of describe the face? I mean, you were thinking this thing was human, obviously, until it smiled. Yeah, it looks really like in my brain, it was 100% a person, very oddly tall and didn't know how to dress appropriately for the season. and the behavior kind of set me off in a different direction. Like, I don't, this can still very much be a person, but their behavior is like abnormal. The most uncanny thing of it all was the smile. It was like, if you were to like, you know the Joker movie where he like puts his fingers in his mouth and stretches out his cheeks really far? It was like that.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Like it was the sides of the mouth were going like way too far for how, how, how. wide the smile was. It was the, the wideness of it was really weird. Like, almost stretched past the face. Um, and, and their teeth were, like, big. They were pretty white though, which I thought, like, I don't know. Doesn't make sense. Yeah, it does make sense. I've talked to a lot of eyewitnesses,
Starting point is 00:29:36 and they'll describe the teeth, you know, really big like, uh, chicklets and white, uh, which, you know, it does seem weird that they're to have white teeth, but many eyewitnesses report that. The other thing about your encounter is when it was speaking or obviously mimicking what it had heard before, it sounded deaf to you. And I've heard that before in recordings when they are not necessarily speaking, but they're mimicking, like calling someone's name.
Starting point is 00:30:07 And it does sound like a deaf person trying to speak. You know, when you hear people who report hearing their names being called from the woods, but there's something off about it. This area where all this happened, I realize it's close to where you live. Have you ever thought about going back? I have, and that's partly why I reached out to, because I went back recently,
Starting point is 00:30:31 and I discovered something. There was this area that I didn't tend to go to, and that's kind of where I heard those sounds from. That's where I saw this thing come out of, off to the left-hand side near this graveyard. I mostly didn't go near there because it was the graveyard. And I was like, ooh, spooky. But I don't go alone anymore.
Starting point is 00:30:48 I used to go alone all the time. Anytime I ever go out, I'm minimum two people with me. I just like, I like the words. I honestly do. What made me venture out there before was like, oh, it's so close to home. Like, I'm literally like a stone's throw away. But I went back recently with some friends. And I felt brave enough.
Starting point is 00:31:10 I'm like, you know what? Let's go over to that area. I got two friends with me. let's check it out. The reason why is we were looking for like antler shittings. And it was like that season to do so. And we're looking around and we come to this valley I've never gone to before. And it's like this little cut out.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Honestly, like a crater in a sense. And I see something at the bottom of it. And I'm thinking, I thought it was like bones of some kind. And I get closer. And it's just like this dried out gourd, like like a pumpkin that had been like punched in because you know like dried gourd kind of has that texture of bone
Starting point is 00:31:49 and I get closer and I see that it's just a gourd but then I take a few more steps closer and I see like the full bone carcass of a deer and we're like oh that's sweet like we're looking for deer antlers we found a whole deer skeleton instead
Starting point is 00:32:05 and this thing was just like bone there was nothing left on it but it was the full thing and I figured some coyotes or something got to it And this is where I got freaked out. So my friends and I are looking at it, and I notice as I get closer, it was in a very muddy patch. I saw heel prints that were relatively about my size of foot, so like 12, maybe 13, but just the heel footprints. And they went really deep into the mud, and they were surrounding this thing, the bones on the ground.
Starting point is 00:32:42 and it kind of just brought my brain back to previous interactions. And I was like, all right, cool. I ended up grabbing the skull. And we left that I just got like a very yucky feeling in my gut. And I was like, we should probably go. Because like nobody's going to be out in the middle of nowhere with their shoes off. And if they are, it's not somebody I probably want to be around. why take the school?
Starting point is 00:33:15 I just thought it was cool. Oh, I got you. Yeah, I was just kind of curious. You know, I ask everyone on the show, Sean, what do you think Sasquatch is? And there's no wrong answer, but I'm curious, what are your thoughts? I, well, I would honestly say, like, from what I saw, I still don't know if they could say, even if that it is a Sasquatch, just because my brain still wants to tell me it was a really tall person in a fur coat. what I think it is, I think it's a lot of things.
Starting point is 00:33:51 I've heard a lot of different approximations that it's like, there's a spiritual element to it. There's a lineage, like a missing link, hybrid, whatever. I've heard 1001 things. I think it, like, I come from a spiritual background. I'm Christian and I've encountered some pretty profound things. I'm under the impression that there is definitely a living flesh thing that is moving around, especially from all these people's encounters.
Starting point is 00:34:25 You can hear the trauma in people's voices. I don't think they're faking that from what they witnessed. It seems pretty true. But there's a greater spiritual element to this world that a lot of people are kind of unaware to or blind to. And if there's something like that out there, it just, has to be have a spiritual element because I I see everything does um and if it does there's there's some oddities that go with it especially people talk about like cloaking or whatever um I think this thing's living and it has an intelligence that I'm uncomfortable with I would say yeah and that's a
Starting point is 00:35:06 fair answer Sean and I you know it's amazing account I'm really glad that you contacted me I was telling you over the phone you reminded me of that farmer I was talking about earlier, who I guess he taught it to wave or mimicked him waving. And then they started doing it. In this situation, it makes me wonder where it saw that behavior of waving and saying hi. And then decided it was going to start doing that. It's strange. But they do mimic and they do mimic voices.
Starting point is 00:35:39 And it would make sense. They would mimic our gestures and everything like that. I really appreciate you coming on, Sean, and sharing what happened to you. I really enjoyed chatting with you, man. Yeah, thank you. I very much appreciate talking about it. It kind of alleviates a lot of the questions, I guess. Yeah, I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Thank you very much, Wes. Next up on the show, I want to welcome Miles. Miles, thanks for coming on, ma'am. Thank you for having me. I appreciate you, brother. Yeah, I really appreciate you coming on, man. and I know your encounter happened in New Mexico back in 2012. If you would, just kind of start from the beginning.
Starting point is 00:36:31 What were you doing and what happened? Okay, so at this time, I think it had probably been about a year out of high school. My girlfriend at the time, me, her, as well as her cousin, and his girlfriend, all decided to go camping for a weekend up in Pecos. which is a I'm from Albuquerque it's about three or four hours north of that up in the mountains and her cousin said that he had known a spot at the time that he had went to the summer before with a couple of their friends we knew so he was kind of excited to show us that spot so the way you get up there is kind of a windy
Starting point is 00:37:12 road up this mountain and as we're getting up there and up there the spot that he wanted to go to previously was taken already so He was like, all right, well, let's just go up the mountain a little bit more. There's probably some more spots. So we end up going up quite a ways pretty far up the mountain. I hadn't been that far up at that point in my life. I go there a lot, but I'd never been that far up the mountain. We get to a spot eventually where you can pull off the mountain road to the left.
Starting point is 00:37:43 And then you kind of go down this little dirt road. It's a little bit hard to get to. And then there's a spot that we could see off the road. So we had two trucks. We each take our truck down there and it was actually a really cool spot. It was a big wide kind of dirt spot tucked into this mountain kind of road. So we actually had set up our whole camp. It took us a couple hours.
Starting point is 00:38:05 Just everything up. And then we were at this kind of, I don't know, it's a little bit of a cliff, I guess. There was the road and then it went down to our camp spot. And then there was a little bit of a walkway and then it went down even farther. And I hadn't gone over there at the point, but I went down there. And down that mountain, there was a small trail, but it was kind of rugged. I went down there and there was a spot that was just gorgeous. It was a flat rock bed against the river.
Starting point is 00:38:34 It had a couple big trees right on the river. And then there was a huge cliff on the other side. So it was gorgeous, to be honest. It was amazing. So I went back up and I got him on. I was like, hey, look at this spot down here. You know, this is a really cool spot. we should just hike our stuff down the mountain and camp here, even though, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:53 because we're planning on being there. We had enough supplies for a couple days, so we didn't really need to get to the trucks. So we all decided to just kind of walk our tents down the mountain, to be honest with this one. We're just kids. And as we're going down, I noticed that there was a campsite pretty far off to my right. And it wasn't all the way down the mountain where we were going to go, but it was about halfway between our first camp site. campsite and the bottom of the mountain. And I noticed it was a pretty big tent.
Starting point is 00:39:23 It was a big red Coleman tent. And I could see there. It was probably like a 10-person tent. I could see a couple chairs. I could see a towel and some clothes hanging on the tree. And I didn't see anyone at the camp, but I was like, okay, there's obviously more people here. You know, so I didn't really think anything of it. None of us did.
Starting point is 00:39:39 And we go down. We're setting up camp on the side of this awesome river spot. And it was great. Everything was cool. We set up our stuff. Um, her cousin's dad, he was a big outdoors guy. They went elk hunting and stuff all the time. We have a great hunting, um, scene out there in New Mexico.
Starting point is 00:39:58 And so they were always outdoors. And he had gotten her cousin, I think for his birthday or something, this really awesome, uh, cooler. And it was one of the animal-proof ones. So it had this weird mechanism where he was even raccoon proof, which is cool. And, um, it had a strange mechanism on how to open it. So we left all our stuff out, our food and everything, and there was a trail on the side of the river. So we decided to just go exploring and stuff.
Starting point is 00:40:26 So we all, it was still probably the afternoon that day, I would say. And we're all going down the trail. We went a pretty good ways. And then we kind of came, the river went down to like a creek almost, and it started getting a little bit more brushy. and we kept going and we came on this dead dears carcass and it looked pretty fresh it was still kind of hot I guess or it had still I just remember it was opened and it was like kind of steaming almost which was weird so I thought we I mean her cousin's an outdoors guy so he was like oh this is just this is like today this got killed or something and it was
Starting point is 00:41:13 strange because like the face meat was taken off and of course the girls were like you know freaking out about it and stuff we were young i was like 19 he was they were younger than us so we were still teenagers and you know we're just like oh whatever we're cool and stuff we both had shotguns with us and stuff and yeah i don't know we just always think you know because i've been out camping a bunch too my whole life and you kind of just feel like king of the mountain was whenever you're a person so we didn't really think anything of it and of course the girls weren't kind of scared. So we hiked back, we go back to the camp. When we get back, our whole camp had been like rummage through. And right away I kind of got the vibe that it
Starting point is 00:41:56 wasn't animals because it was just kind of strange the way things were taken out. I mean like the tent wasn't thrown or anything. It was like something unzipped it, you know, and was like looking in our stuff. And also the cooler was an animal proof cooler. And it was open and the food wasn't It wasn't thrown about or anything. It wasn't like messily went through. It was almost like meticulously taken out, which was strange. So instantly, I thought, okay, it was these camping people, these neighbors that we have up the way in that red tent. And you know, me and Jacob, I was telling them like, hey, you know, we don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:30 We didn't see the people. So we don't know if it's a family or it could be just a couple of guys and we have girls with us. So, you know, we don't know if they saw the girls and we're being creepy or something. And of course, too, at the time, we're like 18. So we're full of machismo and whatever. So we're like, let's go up there and, you know, ask these guys what's up? You know, what's going on? Why did you guys go to our camp?
Starting point is 00:42:51 So we hike up to their spot or to this camping spot, what I thought was theirs. And we noticed right away that it was like an abandoned camp spot. I walk up to the tent. The tent was already open. And it looked like, you could tell they had been left there for, God, at least like some days because the inside was full of dust like the wind was blowing. dust in and stuff was around, but the air mattresses were still blown up. They were kind of deflated and stuff, but there was blankets on these air mattresses. There was stuff in the tents. There was towels and stuff hung up on the tree. There was stuff everywhere, but there was
Starting point is 00:43:29 no one in there. And all this stuff was covered in dust and stuff. So, I mean, it was kind of obvious that no one had been there for a couple days. So we thought that was weird, of course, but we're still young, so we're, her cousin was more like, oh, great. So someone just decided to leave their stuff whenever we come back. We got a free tent kind of thing. We were just like, wow, these people left there, all this camping stuff. That's strange, but, you know, that's cool also. So we didn't really think anyhow, but we just were kind of like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:44:00 We'll just figure it out later, and we'll just have a good time to wrap by the river. So we go back and, you know, the whole night goes by, we cook dinner, we're hanging out, all that stuff. Of course, we're young, so we're some drinking involved and stuff. But eventually we ended up just going to sleep. We had a tent, me and my girlfriend at the time, and then they had a tent. And in between our tents was the fireplace. It was like our tent, fireplace, cooler, and then their tent.
Starting point is 00:44:28 And we were right next to the river. My girlfriend at the time was epileptic. So she would have seizures every now and again, which was kind of scary. I'd already been asleep. had to be close to the middle of the night, had to be at least three or four a.m. Because I was awake from when the incident happened until the sun came up. And it could have only been about three hours. So I'm guessing it was about 3 a.m.
Starting point is 00:44:56 And she shakes me, waking me up, shaking me really hard. So I kind of like stir out of my sleep when I look over at her and she is pale. like pale pale white pale and she's almost like pressed into the ground i don't know how to explain it like she was pressing herself into the ground so i thought she's having a seizure because she looked really stiff and then she looks in me and she like shushes me and then with her other hand she's pointing out towards the outside of the tent and right away once i noticed she wasn't having a seizure, I could feel what she was talking about. It's hard.
Starting point is 00:45:42 It was such a mystery to me for a long time what I experienced because I didn't see anything. But after some years had went by, I had randomly come across some Sasquatch something on YouTube, and they were explaining kind of what they experienced, and it was exactly what I experienced. I was laying there as soon as she pointed up and I knew she wasn't having a seizure, I could feel something outside of the tent. And to this day, I've only told a few people, not very many people about this experience, but it was like the most intense fear. You can't even imagine how much it's like.
Starting point is 00:46:25 It's crazy to think about now. Even thinking about the memory, it like kind of ramps you up or, I don't know, it gets your adrenaline going in a weird way because it's a primal fear that's unexplainable to this day i've never felt a fear or even imagined to fear that intense and it's almost like your body just knows somehow that there is something big and dangerous right next to you and it freezes you you're frozen in fear and all i can explain is first there is the sound that i heard whatever it was it breathed so deeply and so heavily that you can feel it in your body and the ground and everything around you. It shakes the earth around you when it breathes. I don't know if it's because we were
Starting point is 00:47:10 so close or whatever, but every time this thing exhaled, I can't even explain what it sound like. I couldn't even begin to try to make the noise. But it was the deepest, most guttural thing I've ever heard, and I felt it every single breath. Then I noticed the smell, almost like a mix of, like a I don't know like a gamey like a wet animal almost like a wet dog but also with like an intense body odor I don't know if you've ever been in like a locker room or something but that body odor smell that's kind of overwhelming times a hundred mixed with like a wet dog smell and I can tell that this thing was walking because when it would move I can feel it moving It's so big, so heavy.
Starting point is 00:47:59 I just laid back down and I was absolutely frozen. I had the shotgun right next to me, right next to me, within inches of me. And I didn't even think about it because it's almost like I just knew that that wasn't going to do anything. Whatever this thing is, it froze me in fear. It was extremely intense experience. We just heard it kind of moving around. I could feel it breathing. Also a weird thing that happened was we were right next to the river.
Starting point is 00:48:32 It was a summertime at night. You could very much hear the forest around you. I don't know if it was because I was so scared or what, but I was completely deaf in that moment. I couldn't hear anything. I felt like I was almost imagining the water flowing because I knew that that sound should be there, but I can't even remember if I actually.
Starting point is 00:48:52 actually heard the river. I just sometimes I think that I'm just imagining it because I think it should be there. But I remember it being dead quiet and I thought maybe I was just so scared that I wasn't hearing anything. We just laid there. Could hear it breathing, could hear it moving around. I could hear it kind of rustling with our stuff outside. I could definitely smell it. I couldn't even tell you how long he was around for.
Starting point is 00:49:20 All I know is that when he, I don't, he, she, I don't, he, she, I don't. I don't know what. When it left, I could kind of feel myself, almost like I could feel my blood, start to pumping again. And I could see that the sun was coming up. It was getting lighter and lighter. We were so afraid. We stayed laying there, both wide awake, but completely silent.
Starting point is 00:49:43 God, it must have been like an hour, something over an hour, because I remember thinking in my head, like, I want to move. I want to leave, but I'm so scared. that I can't. And it was almost like an understanding we had like a silent understanding of like, we need to just lay here until the sun comes up before we can leave. Even though we both, after a while, knew it was gone. It was like we both knew to just stay. And we, once the sun came up, as soon as I moved, she got up immediately. We just packed our stuff up. I zipped out of the tent. Once I zipped out of the tent, her cousin and his girlfriend zipped out of the tent at the same time.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I remember looking at him. He looked at me and it was like, yeah, we both. We're like, I don't know, we just, without, didn't even words need to be said. We were just like, we need to leave immediately. We packed our stuff up. We hiked up that mountain. I remember thinking, when we were hiking back up and seeing that abandoned campsite, I remember just chills running down my back because I thought they must have experienced what we did and they left. And we got back up to our cars.
Starting point is 00:50:52 We didn't even say by to each other. We got into our truck. They got into their truck and we left. And then, you know, it's about a four-hour drive back. And I just, we're driving about halfway back. You know, life starts to hit you again. You start to see cars, people, you know, the radio, whatever. Things start to feel normal-ish. We both hadn't said anything at this point. I remember I looked at her and I was like, so, you know, I don't even think I got a sentence out, but I think she could understand. I was about to bring it up. And she looked at me and said, I don't ever want to talk about that ever again. in the most serious way I've ever seen someone say something. And I just looked and I said, okay. And we never talked about it. I was with her for years after that and we never spoke about it. I saw her cousin a long time and we never spoke about it. Me and him finally kind of spoke about it years ago.
Starting point is 00:51:45 God, this was already over a decade ago. I must have sung about five years back. And we kind of talked about it. And even then, it was like a sore subject. You could tell you kind of didn't really want to get into it. But to this day, it was the most terrifying experience I've ever had. I've never felt fear like that. And I didn't understand what it was until I was on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:52:07 I think the whole shorts thing had just started. Maybe. I remember I was just going through things. And some paranormal show was on. They were talking about Sasquatch and Bigfoot. Some guy was talking about his experience. He mentioned the question. the quiet thing, the it having no, just when he had his experience this, there was no sound.
Starting point is 00:52:29 That's what caught my ear. So I started listening. And then he mentioned the smell. And then he also mentioned feeling of vibration whenever it made a noise. And I don't know, to this day, I don't know if that's what it was or what we saw, but it clicked with me in such a way. It like shook me almost. Like when I was listening to this thing, I just shuddered because. I didn't ever have a reference to what I experienced, you know.
Starting point is 00:52:58 There was no one I knew who had experienced anything like that. I had never heard of anything like that. You know, it's not something I can just look into. So I didn't really have a way to reference what happened to us. And then when I heard him talking about his experience, it kind of resonated with me and it scared the shit out of me. It really did. Yeah, I bet. Kind of gives you a reference to what happened to you.
Starting point is 00:53:18 When you guys were in the tent, did you guys see a shadow over the tent? or was it mainly just kind of the noise you were hearing? You know, I don't know, it's weird in your mind. I was so scared. For a long time, I didn't think about it. And then now kind of knowing what happened, I think about it again, and I try to make sure that what I'm remembering is what was there, or if I was really scared.
Starting point is 00:53:46 I want to say no. I want to say I didn't see a shadow or anything. I think either maybe the moon was angry, angled out of a way to where his shadow wasn't casting on us, or he must have been so close. We were just covered in his shadow or something. I don't know, but I just remember looking at the tent, seeing the tent at the top and just focusing on that point because I didn't want to be loud. And we were just, I don't even know. It was like being in a trance.
Starting point is 00:54:16 It was like being in a terrified trance. I was so scared that all I could do was just breathe. and I just knew that there were something massive outside. Yeah, you know, you're in this situation where you and your girlfriend are experiencing the same fear. What do you think caused that fear? I think, you know, I think that it was just, I don't think a lot of people experience real danger a lot.
Starting point is 00:54:44 I know that before this I hadn't, you know, I thought I had. And I've been around bears. I've been in the wilderness, and I've been near bears, wild bears and stuff and it's very scary but it was nothing like that this was like a primal fear took over me it was like my body shut down and it was almost like i i i didn't know that that i knew what to not knew what to do but it was almost like i was i wasn't even in control of myself it was like a switch flipped in me and my body was just like lay here and be quiet and just
Starting point is 00:55:19 you know, I don't know, just be there. I couldn't, I couldn't do anything else. I was so scared. And she actually was so scared that she actually, she actually pied herself. She actually peed herself during this, whenever we were laying there. She was crying. She peed herself. I was terrified.
Starting point is 00:55:39 I was shaking. A million thoughts were going through my head. And at the same time, nothing was going through my head. I was just, it was really strange. And Miles, would you come? kind of describe that breathing sound you were hearing? You more feel it than hear it, I guess. I could feel it.
Starting point is 00:56:01 I couldn't even begin to describe the noise. It was like a deep, like a gutter. Maybe like how alligator sound when they make that noise, that defensive kind of noise and it's real guttural. It was like that turned down, though. Like if you, you know, I don't know how to explain it. Like a very deep version of that. but it was so intense.
Starting point is 00:56:23 It was almost like it was so loud that it was quiet. Like you knew it was, you knew that you could hear it, but it was like you felt it way more than you heard it. Yeah, I get what you mean. And, you know, it's weird when the forest goes quiet. You'll hear a lot of eyewitnesses talk about that where, you know, it was just dead silent out there. It's like there's a light switch and the forest shuts off. And it's kind of weird coming across to campsite that was a band. And, um, yeah, in hindsight, you know, I think about it. I'm like, we were just, I was so young.
Starting point is 00:56:57 I was 19 that we were just, we just wanted to go out to the woods and party and stuff. So when we saw that, of course, we thought it was strange, but I didn't put new more forethought into it. We were just like, all right, whatever. And just kind of, you know, if I'd think if I'd experienced that now, I'd be like, all right, something weird is going on here. You know, people don't just leave their stuff. The other thing I wanted to ask you, you know, that night before you had heard it kind of going through your stuff. When you guys got up in the morning and you guys were getting ready to leave, was there anything taken? There was stuff moved, but we, I definitely noticed that things had been what went through again, but I have no clue what it took, nothing. They had brought
Starting point is 00:57:37 the food and stuff. We just came out and literally looked at each other and immediately started tearing our stuff down. We took the stakes out of the ground. We folded our tents up. The girls were putting their stuff together. I know that he got that kind of stuff together. I think it was went through, but I didn't even think. I didn't even stop for a moment to look at what happened. I just wanted to get out. I wanted to leave immediately.
Starting point is 00:58:02 And the deer kill that you guys came across and how you describe it, I mean, that's not something a poacher would do. The stomach was opened up. When we came on it, the stomach was open. That's why I thought I'd never seen that before. I'd never seen a fresh animal carcass like that. And it was hot. It was like steaming where its stomach was open.
Starting point is 00:58:24 It was like steam coming out almost. It was very, very strange. So it was a very, very fresh kill. Yeah. And that's what he said. That's where it doesn't say. He's like, oh, this happened today. Like, because he's a hunting guy, you know, him and his dad are.
Starting point is 00:58:35 And me and I, you know, I'm an outdoors guy too, but I never hunted. I'm a fisherman. I always go fishing and stuff. My, me and my dad aren't into, you know, hunting anything. I just never have. But he's a deer hunter, elk hunter and stuff. So when you saw that, he was like, oh, this is like today this happened. But again, we were young.
Starting point is 00:58:51 We didn't think anything of it. We just, you know, we're like, whoa, that's crazy. And of course the girls freaked out about it because it's kind of gruesome. And then, of course, they freaked out even more when we went back to our campsite and it was kind of went through. But we were just so, we were just so dead set on, you know, having a weekend and hanging out. We were blindsided by wanting to party, I guess, just being young and dumb, you know. Yeah, it is weird that your campsite had been gone through. I've been camping many times. I've never had that happen. And, you know, most sane people,
Starting point is 00:59:22 even insane people, I really don't see them doing that. You know, 12 years later, have you ever thought about going back? No, I've never went back. I go to fish the lake that's by there, but it's still about 40 minutes away from the spot. I know where that road is, and I'm pretty sure that I would, you know, I could find it again if I wanted to, but I absolutely have no interest in going back. I never want to feel anything like that again. our experience that was terrifying and awful and now hearing more experiences I can very much sympathize with the people who feel shaken forever by this and it's hard too because you know who you're going to talk to about it with the only person I've ever known that I
Starting point is 01:00:05 could have an actual discourse with it was I had a co-worker in mine that so my one of my best friends is my boss I told I've told her about the experience and she kind of makes fun of me for it and the company we work for she kind of tells everyone it's like a thing they make fun of me so one year for christmas one of the we did like a secret stand of the person who got me got me a big foot book like a saskwatch book or whatever and um to be funny because people are like oh myles is into the saskwatch thing or whatever the new co-worker he was our security guy he was like hey man we kind of got's talking and he's like do you really believe in that and i told them yeah i i tell him i think i i think i had an
Starting point is 01:00:46 experience once, he told me the same thing that he was older than me, but he told me that he had had an experience and he, it was pre-internet and he had no clue about it until he had heard something on YouTube as well. He told me he was in Washington. His ex-wife lived up there. They went to go visit him and his dad were hunting. I've never been up there. But he told me, he's like, there are parts of the forest up there that it's so thick, there's no way you can walk through it. I can't remember exactly where he was, but he said he was in Washington. He said they were driving home. He had a single cab F-150.
Starting point is 01:01:19 They had went hunting, and then he said they're driving down this road. They had stopped. I worked for a dispensary here in New Mexico. Or when I'm in New Mexico, I work for a dispensary. So he, you know, obviously medicates or whatever. They're up there in Washington. This is back in like the 90s. So he's like back then, you know, you couldn't just do that anywhere you wanted.
Starting point is 01:01:39 And his wife and relatives weren't into that. So he said we stopped on the side of the road to just kind of. kind of, you know, spark one up before we got home. And he's like, I'm on the driver's side. My father-in-law is on the side where the woods are. He said, we're looking off to the left on my side. And he said, I thought I saw a basketball in the floating. And he told me, he's like, I saw me and him both saw an orange ball floating bobbing up and out of the trees.
Starting point is 01:02:07 And we were both just like, what the heck is this thing? He said, we were both staring at it. And we're seeing this thing bob up and out of the trees. And then he said, out of nowhere from him. the side of the four of the truck where his father-in-law is where the forest is he said the loudest voice came out of that forest it shook his whole truck his windows he said his father jumped in his lap and that they tore off down the road and uh he said same thing i didn't you know we didn't know what to say we kind of talked about it when we got back but you know there's people just were kind
Starting point is 01:02:39 of like oh that's crazy he said it wasn't two years later that he listened to those uh tapes of the samurai chatter and he said as soon as I heard that he's like I almost broke down in tears dude he's like it was exactly that sound exactly that is what screamed at me out of the forest he's like and ever since then I like when I think about it I cringe and I told him same here man I never knew about it until I heard about something on the internet and then I it connect it just kind of rang in my head and I same thing it like shook me knowing like that's weird it's just creepy I don't know to explain it it's like something that is you know, supposed to be fake.
Starting point is 01:03:19 It almost scares you so bad. It like shakes reality for you because you think to yourself like, what the hell? You know, this feels right. This feels like what I experienced. And that's not supposed to be a real thing. So what did I experience? Yeah, I've always said it's almost worse when you don't see it as opposed to when you do see it because of the unknown. And the whole experience at night, I mean, it sounds like one of these creatures.
Starting point is 01:03:44 everything from the way it was breathing to the smell and all the weird stuff that happened around it, the deer kill, the missing care, the people missing from their campsite that just kind of up and left. It's a scary night, man. You know, I ask everyone on the show, Miles, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take? You know, I don't know. To be honest, I've thought about it a million times over and I don't know. I've tried to come to so many conclusions but one thing it does make me feel is it makes you feel really small in the world it makes you i don't know it gives me this feeling like wow uh you really you don't we don't know what's going on you know it seems like the real world or whatever the
Starting point is 01:04:36 whatever we don't know is very intricate yeah would you put it more in the category of an animal or would you put it more in a category of uh human It has to be both because its physical presence is so overwhelming. And it's very, it's like a, it's ferocious feeling. Like when you're around a bear, you can tell you're around an apex predator, you know, you can feel it. It's got this certain vibe. That's the vibe.
Starting point is 01:05:13 It's got like a savage vibe to it. I don't know how to explain it. It's, I knew in my heart and I felt like you're about to die. There's nothing you can do. I had a 12-gauge shotgun locked, ready to go right next to me. If it had been a bear, I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. But I just didn't even think about it. It was like I knew already this isn't going to do anything except forget its attention towards me and I don't want that.
Starting point is 01:05:38 It has such a savagely ferocious vibe to it. But at the same time, it's so mysterious. It has to be some form of. higher intelligence to it because I mean it's obviously unknown it's elusive it's all these things but man I don't know how something that has that big of a primal ferocious energy can be as elusive as it is it is mind-boggling it really is it just makes you question everything I've never felt the same about anything since that night really since I kind of have understood more about what it is but and you know you feel silly too it's hard because it's almost like a weird curse you have on you
Starting point is 01:06:23 if you experience it because you can't he can't talk to about it you know i can't i've tried a few times and you just get and i would do the same thing you know like i can't even really be upset because i would feel the same way it's like i was just talking about big foot here you know but man it's it's very frustrating because you want to almost grab people by the face and be like, no, man, you don't understand what I felt. You don't understand what it's like. And your whole life you feel silly about it, you know, and sad kind of. But that must be how they keep it. That's one thing I think I'm like, okay, that's part of its elusiveness is that it's so crazy to experience this that if you do, no one will ever believe you. So it doesn't even matter,
Starting point is 01:07:10 kind of, you know, I've only ever known one other person who's had that experience. And it's like you click with them on this weird level. Yeah, it is nice to kind of connect to someone who's experienced, you know, something similar to what you've experienced because, you know, after an encounter, you feel kind of alone. You kind of feel like I'm the only person who this has ever happened to. And that couldn't be farther from the truth. And I really appreciate you coming on because this sort of encounter happens to a lot of people. And I think a lot of people walk away going, I don't know what in the world happened.
Starting point is 01:07:45 that night. It's a scary night, man. I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share it with us. Hey, man. Thank you so much for hearing me out. It does feel good to get it off my chest. Even again, it's almost like a therapy session. I appreciate you. And, you know, for people like me who have had experiences, it makes you feel a little less crazy. Yeah, well, I don't think you're crazy, Miles, but thank you again for coming on. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows. Until next time, everyone.
