Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1089 They Were All Around Us

Episode Date: September 15, 2024

Lacey writes "Hey Wes! I started listening to your show after my encounter that happened in the fall of 2020 in Willow Creek, CA. Since then I have tried to make sense of what happened and your show h...as given me insight and validation, but has also left me with more questions than answers. Takes a lot for me to do this but here it goes.. During the fall of 2020 I was trimming for a medical marijuana farm and staying with friends in willow creek, ca. I currently live in my home state in the Midwest but lived in Humboldt County for 7 years during my twenties. So when the pandemic started, I lost my job as a massage therapist. Being that is was an awkward time to do my job anyway, I figured why not see my friends and make some money while in waiting to see what would become of my career. By the time my encounter happened it was October and I had been working out west since July. Autumn in that area is typically busy with travelers, so I thought it would be cool to meet a guy on a dating site while visiting to help pass the time. Right away I hit it off with a fellow farm worker who happened to be right down the road. We went out for dinner and decided to continue the night by laying under the stars at a local campground called camp Kimtu right outside of Willow Creek on the trinity river. The campsites were further down the road but we decided to pull of on the beach by the water. Since I had been living do on the road, my car was full of camping gear. We took my sleeping bag with blankets down a path to the water not far from my vehicle. For the record we did have a 12 pack of steelhead ale(my fav local beer) but each of us had only had two beers. One at the restaurant and one on the river bank. It wasn't long after laying there that it started to rain so we ended up getting into my car to wait out the rain. The rain lasted about an hour(which to my knowledge it was the first rain of the season) and during that time we stayed inside until it stopped. Eventually we made it back out but decided to just sleep there and continue hanging out. I have a rav4 so we put the back seats down and made a bed. While doing so I took out my camping tote which had some really valuable gear inside as well as his backpack and guitar (This is a key part of the story bc it just doesn't make sense that if it was a hoax then why didn't "they" steal our stuff?). At this point it around 11:45. The bed was made so we sat in the back of the car with the hatch door open(which was facing the river) to smoke a joint. I was wrapped in a blanket and he in his boxers snuggled up to me. A few mins into conversation we started hearing a low guttural growl coming from the rocky beach down towards the water. Take in mind it was super foggy out and there was no street lights around. So we never actually saw what was making the sound but oh did we hear them. The sound went on for about 30 secs or so. It almost sounded like a didgeridoo at first but you could tell it was a voice. Kind of like a growl/gargling sound. It radiated around us in a way I have never heard before. What was also really weird, we both immediately became emotional and struck with fear. It was like my body became immediately paralyzed. Tears started streaming down my cheeks as we grabbed each other and I said "that's not human" it was like my nervous system instantly knew something was off. He then yelled really loud "Hey, what are you doing down there!?" (This is when it gets absolutely terrifying and I mean seriously the most afraid I have ever been in my life. I still to this day have ptsd from this experience. It's gotten easier to tell this story but it continues to haunt me. I dream about it and think about it constantly.) The sound abruptly stopped when he did that but only for a second and then proceeded to SCREAM the most ungodly, otherworldly sound I never in a million years would imagine to hear. We instinctively shut the back door and laid down shaking. At this point it was pure terror and somewhat surreal. Almost as if time stood still but it all happened pretty fast. As we lay there trembling and not knowing what to do next, the sounds began to get louder and more intense. It started to sound like multiple high and low pitched voices that were howling, yelling and at some points it sounded like they were laughing. Almost like a gorilla/hyena hybrid. That sound will forever be burned into my mind. We both became hysterical. He also started to cry and kept asking me what do we do?? I told him to lay still and be quiet. I couldn't believe this was happening. Then, they surrounded my car. It literally sounded like they were all around us. It truly felt like they were taunting us but in the most horrible way and trust me it worked. The cackling and howling with talking btw, they seriously have a language. We could hear them bantering back and forth. It was like nothing I've ever heard, until someone played for me the Sierra sounds. It's absolutely unnerving how similar that recording is to what we experienced. Also at some point during this they began making really loud thud noises but not sure how. This went on for what seemed like forever but in reality it was only 15 mins or so until one of them was so close to my back passenger window that we both screamed uncontrollably and the guy told me to drive! I frantically found my keys in the mess of blankets and jumped in the driver seat. I just remember shaking so bad I could barely push my foot on the peddle. The lights turned on but we never saw a thing. All I could do was put my car in drive and get tf out of there. Looking back on it I really wish one of us would've had our phones out to record but it all happened so fast, that honestly was the last thing on mind. We ended up parked outside of my friends house and laid there in shock until the sun came up. We went over the whole thing numerous times. Did they want to hurt us? If so, why didn't they? Was it a prank? At times it felt like trickery but the sound was so out of this world that if it was they must've had some kind of equipment. Plus these beings had a presence, a very strong one at that. He even thought we should call the police and report it, we were that scared. Once morning with no sleep and completely hung over from the adrenaline we drove back to get our things. Truly thinking everything would be gone, to our surprise nothing had been touched. Not the beer, nor the cooler with some food, or our valuables. We walked around and looked for tracks but didn't see a thing. I still don't know what to think of it and didn't begin the Bigfoot rabbit hole until after that night. As cliche as it is, that area is highly known for encounters so we just assumed if it wasn't people or an animal then it must be real after all. Him and I don't really talk but the occasional text to remind each other that we survived some truly crazy stuff together. Maybe someday I'll get him to go on a podcast with me or something. I'm just glad to have had a witness bc it truly is unbelievable until it happens to you. And I'm grateful for my vehicle bc I'm not sure if I'd be here to tell the tale if we would've been in my tent. I don't really know if they would have hurt us, nor do I ever want to chance that again. Let's just say the woods will never be the same."

Starting point is 00:00:01 And when I say it screamed back at us, I mean, it screamed and talked, and it had like almost multi-dimensional sounds coming from its mouth at the same time. It led out this like visceral. I mean, it was like, wow. It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind, and it either heard me or smelt me, and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up, and that shocked me. They don't make people that big.
Starting point is 00:01:08 The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything move like that in my life. life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and and forwards, back and forward. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw the bears. What are you reporting?
Starting point is 00:01:56 Jesus Christ, you better. Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That son of a bitch is about six foot nine of a man. Six foot nine, I don't know. Do you see a bouncer? Yes, I'm looking right in. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:02:17 This is Dan. And this is Laura. We're from Berwyn, Illinois. And you're listening to Sasquatch Chronicles. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. Got a great show plan for you. We'll be chatting with Lacey.
Starting point is 00:03:00 And she had an encounter in the fall of 2020 in Willow Creek. Kind of a scary encounter. I'll let her go into it. If you've had an encounter and he'd like to be on the show, show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance, check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Lacey to the show. Lacey, thanks for coming on. Hey, Wes. Thanks for having me. Yeah, and you had this encounter back in the fall of 2020, kind of near Willow Creek,
Starting point is 00:03:39 California. If you would, just start from the very beginning. What were you doing and what happened? Yeah, so it was the fall of 2020. The month that it happened, it was in October, to be exact. And I had previously lived in California from 2011 until 2016. So I had moved back to Missouri and I was working as a massage therapist. And then when the pandemic happened, I wasn't necessarily allowed to do a massage because we had to, you know, stay away from people. So I called some friends out in California and I decided to go out there and work. So I was working on farms and two of my best friends, they're a couple, and they live in Willow Creek. So they had offered up their home to me. I was staying in a spare bedroom. So I was staying in Willow Creek,
Starting point is 00:04:48 but I was kind of working on farms, like in the general area. But while I was there, I decided to get on a Facebook dating app and see if there was anyone. I was single at the time. So I was just looking to see if there was like anyone in the general area that like wanted to hang out and connect. And I found this other worker who was working on farms really close to the area. And we connected on Facebook dating apps. We met up in the town of Willow Creek, which my friends lived. It's kind of funny, like, looking back on it now because my friends live on Patterson Road. So Patterson is the name of the, correct me from Wrong West.
Starting point is 00:05:48 It's the name of the guy who took the video of Patty. Yeah, Roger Patterson. Yeah. So they live, like, right outside of town. but I didn't think about any of this at the time. So I won't say his name because he's not here, but so him and I met in Willow Creek for dinner. We went to dinner. We each had one beer.
Starting point is 00:06:16 We hid it off. We decided that we wanted to continue to hang out. And he had gotten dropped off at the restaurant. So he had his backpack and his guitar, and then I had my vehicle, and I had been kind of living out of my vehicle at the time. I was staying with my friends, but I was also moving around to other farms. So just kind of like foreshadowing to later on, like, I had all of this camping gear. I had a tent and a sleeping bag and a really, really expensive juicer because I thought that I was going to go on a juicing cleanse while I was out there. So I had like really nice REI expensive equipment in my car.
Starting point is 00:07:16 And then he had his guitar and his backpack. So we got my car and we started heading back. towards the mountain, but before we got out of town, there is a camp right outside the outskirts of Willa Creek called Camp Kim 2. And you can turn into the campgrounds, and if you go down the hill to the left, there is a beautiful rock beach right there on the Trinity River. if you keep going up the hill and then around the corner, that is where the campground is. So at this point, it was about 9 o'clock at night. So we weren't sure what we were going to do.
Starting point is 00:08:11 So we took a left, and instead of deciding to camp, we took a left and we went down towards the river. So if you go left, there's like a drive that goes down the hill from the river. the main road into, like, if you're going to Camp Kim to. And then I had turned my car around and backed it up. So the back of my vehicle is actually facing the water. We took everything. Hold on. Let me back up.
Starting point is 00:08:41 So before all of that. So we get there. We decide we had bought a 12 pack of beer. And I like to say this in my story. because, like, we were not under the influence of anything. We'd each had one beer at the restaurant. We got a 12-pack of beer at the gas station. And then we had taken a 12-pack of beer with us.
Starting point is 00:09:07 We had each had one beer, and we went down to the Rock Beach on the water. We put a blanket down. We sat there. We had a beer. And we probably talked for, like, a good hour or so. And then it started to rain. Once it started to rain, we grabbed as a blanket, the 12 pack of beer, we went up to my car, we got inside of my car, and I had an SUV at that time, so I had a RAV4.
Starting point is 00:09:38 So we sat inside of my car, probably at this point, it was like 10, 30 or so, and we hung out in there, and we talked and just, you know, kind of killed the time until the rain stopped. and about an hour or so later, after the rain had stopped, we got out of the vehicle. We got out of the vehicle. At this point, we had realized, like, hey, we are going to stay for the night. By this point, it was like 11, 11.30, and it was getting late, but we were not at the actual campsite. we were still down by the water. The only way to access the actual area that we were,
Starting point is 00:10:30 you had to come in on the road that we came down on, and the only accessible point to this rocky beach area was by the water. To the right of us was like a mountain going up, and to the left was also like a mountain. a mountain. So my vehicle was parked right by the beach. There's no other way to get to this area. So we got out of the car and we decided the rain had stopped. At this point, it was very, very foggy. Like you could barely see like three feet in front of your face. Like the mist had come in. It was very foggy. We were right by the river, so that just makes it like more intense.
Starting point is 00:11:26 And we decided that we were going to put the seats down in the back of my FCV and make a bed. So I had had my camping gear with me. So we put the seats down and I unfolded my camping pad. I had a really nice sleeping bag and a couple of blankets, some pillows. But I also had this tote. And in that tote, I had that really expensive juicer. He had his guitar and his backpack. So all of the bigger, bulky stuff we had set outside of the vehicle, and we made the bed. So we made the bed, and I have the hatch open.
Starting point is 00:12:13 And so the back of the vehicle, the hatch, is actually facing the water. And his guitar is on the ground. and, you know, all of our stuff. The little cooler, beer, actually had a cooler with some food, too. So I am wrapped up in a sarong at this point, and he's, like, in his boxers. And we think, you know what?
Starting point is 00:12:40 If the camp post comes down in the morning, we'll pay the $25. At this point, it's, you know, getting close to midnight. We're not going to drive up there. and try to find a campsite. We're just going to stay here. We're sitting there. I had my legs hanging off of the edge of my SUV,
Starting point is 00:13:04 and the hatch is open, and he's standing next to me. And about this point, the light inside of my vehicle is still on, but I don't know where my phone is, and he doesn't have his phone. just like made the bed. All you can see around my car is just fog and mist. And we start to hear this really low, guttural sound. And the only way that I can describe it to anything in comparison is if you are familiar with like a ditch or you do. So it kind of sounds like this low like
Starting point is 00:13:48 but it doesn't change pitch. It's just low. The weird thing about it, though, is it stimulated and enticed like an emotional reaction out of me. So he was standing there, and I'm sitting in the back of the car, and I hear the sound, and it's coming from the water. but we are like at the edge of the parking lot and then there's probably about I don't know an eight to ten foot drop off and then there's rocks in the water so we can't actually see the river and I look at him and almost immediately and I really don't know how to explain it except for like
Starting point is 00:14:38 I kind of felt this like intuitive I don't want to say hysteria because that kind of said in later But, like, I just start crying, and I don't know why. And I looked up at him, and he looked at me, and he was like, what is that? And I just grabbed his arm because he, I knew he was going to try to do something, I guess. He was ex-military. Also, to add to that, he had been in Afghanistan, so he was deaf in his left ear. believe. So he just like, like his hackles went up and my instinct was like, no, like we, we got to get, like, I don't know what that is, but like in my mind, I thought, I don't know what that is,
Starting point is 00:15:33 but that is not human. That doesn't sound like anything that I've ever heard. And it had a presence. So I grabbed his arm and when I did that, he turns towards the, the sounds and he yelled, Hey! Like really loud. And when he yelled at it, it actually stopped. And then it screamed
Starting point is 00:16:01 back at us. And when I say it screamed back at us, I mean, it screamed and talked and it had like almost multi-dimensional sounds coming from its mouth
Starting point is 00:16:18 at the same time. It led out this like visceral. I mean, it was like, like, it sounded crazy, okay? Like, absolutely crazy. And I grabbed him,
Starting point is 00:16:39 and we both jumped in the back of my car and we shut the hatch. And it was so out of this world sounding that, I don't know, have you ever been so scared that you laugh and cry at the same time? I can't say that I have, but I have heard people nervously, like on the show, when they're recounting what happened to them, sometimes they'll nervously laugh. So I started laughing hysterically. Because I did, like, I just kept thinking, this isn't real. This isn't really happening.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Because the entity or the creature, the being, or whatever, we didn't know at this point. It was getting louder and louder. But then we heard more than one. So that first initial scream back at us that was like, when we jumped in the car, then we started hearing this really, really high-pitched one. And it almost sounded like this like laughing, like, this like laugh cackle. But then you would hear this little like, and they were like going back and forth. And we were just laying in my car, like holding each other. And the whole time he's like, I wish I had a gun. I'm going to go out
Starting point is 00:18:14 there. I wish I had a gun. And I'm like hysterically laughing and crying at the same time. I know that sounds ridiculous. But I was like, no, you cannot go out there. I don't know what this is, but you cannot go out there. And we both were just like laying there, like, shaking. The whole thing probably lasted maybe 15 minutes. But so the noises and the voices, they would kind of go away and then they would get closer. And then it sounded like they were all around my car. And so as we were laying there, like shaking, then we started. hearing like these big loud thumps like boom boom and there's redwood trees you know around my car like we were parked like next to the trees and there's also boulders so i don't know you know and there was it was weird
Starting point is 00:19:08 because i would have a thought and then he would say it out loud so like there was a time where i thought like oh what if like there's people like playing like seances like this it just it just just in my mind. Like, maybe that's what, like, when people are doing seances, that's what it sounds like. And then he said it out loud. He was like, are they doing seances outside? And then I thought in my head, like, oh, it sounds like little Tasmanian devils. And then at one point, he was like, gosh, they sound like little Tasmanian devils.
Starting point is 00:19:42 So we just, like, laid there kind of hysterical and, like, frozen. And he was crying. and I was crying, but we both did not know what to do. And so at one point, this goes on for a little while, and, like, we couldn't really tell. It kind of sounded like muffled, like it was kind of going away. And then, so the ear that he could hear out of, so it must have been, okay, we were laying in the back, and he was on my right, so his right ear was his good ear. So we were laying in the back, and then you could kind of hear them, but they still, they kind of sounded far away.
Starting point is 00:20:26 You could hear this like, he, he, he, he, like, far away. And so I was like, oh, my God, like, are they gone? Like, are we okay? And he put his ear up to the window. Like, right when he did that, whatever was outside of the car, let out the most loudest, terrifying scream. And I mean, it was like right there. So I was laying next to him and he and my car, like my car's keyless, but I didn't know where my phone was. We didn't even have time to think about our phones.
Starting point is 00:21:04 I don't even know what was up or down when this was happening. Like we were just like laying in pure shock and fear. When that scream went out on the outside of my vehicle, he just screamed at me. Lacey drive. And I crawled up to the front seat and I turned my Rafflor SUV on and the lights came on, you know, but it was facing up towards the road that we came down because my car was like I had backed it up. So I couldn't see anything and it was all fog.
Starting point is 00:21:41 And I had a sarong around me and we took off and we drove to my friend's house, which was only like a couple miles away. We parked outside of her house, their house. It was a couple. We didn't go in. We were so, like, we just felt like crazy people. We laid there until the sun came up. And the whole time, I mean, we, the only way I can explain it is it's like a severe hangover.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Like, I felt hungover for two days. I didn't sleep, that whole rest of the day. the night, even up until the next night. Like, my whole nervous system was shot. I could barely eat. Like, all I could do was, like, force myself to drink water. Like, I felt like I had, like, PTSD. So, um, we drive to the car outside of my friend's house, which was on Patterson Road, right outside of Willa Creek, like two or three miles away from where we were. And then we just laid there talking like, oh my God, what just happened? And the guy that I was with, he's ex-military. And at one point, he even, like, when we were kind of like trying to figure out what it was,
Starting point is 00:23:01 like, we were so scared that at one point he even said, like, what if they can smell us and they come here? Like, that's how afraid we were. We were so, so afraid. I've never been that scared in my life. So then we go back to the campground when the sun came up. It was like around six in the morning. So we had been awake from, this all happened around midnight because by the time we got to Charles and Naomi's house, it was like 1, 1245 1. So we went back around 6 a.m. all of our stuff was still sitting there. Nothing had been touched. All the beer, the food, his guitar, my expensive juicer, my camping gear, my REI backpack,
Starting point is 00:23:56 his backpack. Like nobody had stolen anything. It was all sitting there. And we actually like kind of walked around and like looked for tracks, but we were on like gravel. And it was kind of cool because we actually saw a black bear, like, running up the side of the mountain on the other side of the river. And that was, like, the first time I'd seen a bear in the wild. But so we got all of our stuff and were like, okay, so that's weird. Like, definitely wasn't anybody playing a prank on us. Um, because if it was, they probably would have stolen our stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:37 You know, that was our thought anyway. So then we went back and, I mean, that's kind of the end of it. You know, I did message. So I told my friends that live in Willow Creek, the story. And they said, well, why don't you get on the Facebook group of Willow Creek and say something, which I did. And all I said, I was not trying to, like, you know, start a conversation. about Bigfoot or Sasquatch or aliens or any of that. And I just said,
Starting point is 00:25:13 did anyone hear strange noises at Camp Kim 2 on October 11th, you know, between 11 and midnight? And there were three or four local Native Americans that actually commented on the post that I thought was interesting. One of them said, just be lucky that you've heard them. Not everybody will. Another one of them said, if you heard them, you should go back and leave an offering, which I thought was interesting. Another one of them said, they are good and bad, just like people, so be careful. And I can't remember what the other post was. So when I did go back, later, before I left California to go back to Missouri, I actually did leave some tobacco. But I didn't really know what to think because it was so terrifying that it was
Starting point is 00:26:14 hard to think that it was something good, but I guess if it was something bad, it could have hurt me, but it didn't, you know? Yeah, it's interesting that one of the Native Americans told you to go back and leave an offering or a tribute kind of shows you where their mindset's at. You don't leave an offering for a bear or for, you know, maybe I'm wrong, but, you know, an offering or a tribute is meant something completely different. But, you know, it was nice to them to give you advice as far as going back. This whole night, though, because of the fog, you couldn't see it. No, we never saw anything. No.
Starting point is 00:26:56 And when we first heard the sound, it was coming from the water, but there was so much fog around my vehicle. that we couldn't see like where the sound was coming from but then once he yelled at it and it yelled back then we jumped in the car and we were like laying in the back of the car so no we never saw anything
Starting point is 00:27:18 and I realize now you know you've come across some knowledge and you know probably what was actually out there making all these vocalizations at you but at the time did you think it was just people out there screwing with you guys I mean that went through my
Starting point is 00:27:35 thought, my mind, my rational mind was like someone is playing a recording, someone is like blasting a speaker because it sounded so crazy. But the presence that it had, the effect that it actually had on my emotions and my body, I knew that it was something else, if that was that was. makes sense. Yeah, it sounds like a lot of what you heard sounds sounds very similar to the Sierra Sounds. And for kind of new listeners, the Sierra Sounds is from Ron Moorhead and Albury, and there was a few other guys up there. And they were taken, these recordings were taken, I want to say late 60s, early 70s. It went on for many years. Here, I'll play a little clip for new listeners. When we talk about the Sierra Sounds, this is what we mean. This is Ron
Starting point is 00:28:35 Ron Moorhead and I believe Al Berry, it might have been one of the other brothers, but it's Ron Moorhead and one of the other gentlemen kind of mimicking and calling back to the creatures. You know, one of my, there's a part of that recording makes me laugh every time. And the guys even make reference to it. He goes, hey, that's our toilet. I guess the creatures had actually taken apart the toilet. and had the lid or the seat and was smashing against something. But you actually hear one of the guys go, hey, that's our, that's our toilet.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Let me see if I could back it up. What did you think, Lacey, the first time you heard that? Oh, God. So I did not know. I knew who, from listening to Coast to Coast because I love Coast to Coast, I knew who, is it Daniel? who's the guy that does the missing 411? Oh, David Pilates.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Yeah, I knew who he was, but it wasn't until after. And I had watched the missing 411 because somebody had recommended it to me from telling my story. And that's how I found the Sierra sounds. And when I say, like, I almost cannot listen to this. them because it is uncanny how similar the recordings are to what we heard. There on the YouTube video around like three minutes and 15 seconds, three minutes to 30 seconds or so, you can hear the blah blah blah. There's like a voice that is almost exactly what we heard.
Starting point is 00:33:35 But there was also this like loud like he like laugh, like loud cackle laugh with it. So there was multiple. It wasn't just the deep, guttural like voice. There was also this loud like laughing that was happening at the same time. You know, I've had many eyewitnesses report hearing that them laugh and it's a really weird laugh. Even in that Sierra sounds that Ron Moorhead had captured, you hear, to me, it sounds like Scooby-Doo laughing. And the guys make reference to it a couple times in the recording. They're like, what's he laughing at?
Starting point is 00:34:22 Let me see if I can grab that real quick. Does this sound like Scooby-Doo laughing? Yeah. Yeah, it sounds cartoonish. Like, I was imagining, like, the Tasmanian double. Like it sounds like cartoonish almost. Like it was like he which is so funny. But it was terrifying, you know, when it was happening.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Yeah, I can imagine, especially, you know, with it being covered in fog and you can't really see, that makes it even more terrifying. But, you know, I've heard it describe like a witch laughing. I've heard it describe like Scooby-Doo laughing. It's strange. It's strange. it, they do laugh, apparently. What do you think that is? You think they're young ones?
Starting point is 00:35:21 I think in the Sierra sounds, what Ron Moore had captured, it definitely sounds like a younger one to me. It's hard to, you know, I'm just listening to a recording, but that's kind of my impression. But I have had other eyewitnesses describe this very deep, bellowing laugh that they hear. It sounds manlike, but it's not quite manlike. That's or females.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I mean, it sounded like if it was like children, be like, ah! Like they were like, like, it was so loud and cackly. But then you also heard the bo-d-bauda-da-bauda-bara in the background. I think it's interesting, too, you make reference to didgeridoo. Obviously, that isn't what you were hearing. It was kind of a low, a low voice. Yeah. Yeah, it was very gut.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Can I ask you, Lacey? I mean, I know that you don't know and I don't know, but what do you think was actually going on there? Okay, so just my practical mind would think it was one of the first rains of the season. We were right on the water. So what if we were somehow interfering their crossing? So the Native Americans in the area, they are the, oh, the Wiat tribe, there's another tribe in the area. And I'm sorry, but I'm blinking it. But they talk about these beings, very similar to what we call Sasquatch.
Starting point is 00:37:02 And, I mean, in the town of Willow Creek, they even have like Sasquatch Parade. They have a Sasquash museum. So there's a lot of folklore in that area of this travel point of these beings that go through the area. So I, you know, I don't know. I wonder if maybe we were there at that time and they were trying to cross the river. And they, what I felt and, you know, my practical mind, like, I cannot explain it. I don't know. But what I felt was that they wanted us to get out of there.
Starting point is 00:37:45 They were scaring us. They wanted us to go away. I mean, we were like, I was in a sarong. He was in his boxers. We were completely vulnerable. If they wanted to have hurt us, they absolutely could have, but they didn't. They just scared us half to death. Yeah, that's kind of what I get as far as their behavior.
Starting point is 00:38:09 after all of these years and interviewing many different eyewitnesses, it seems like they try really hard to scare you and make you go away. Very few people actually get hurt, but they'll definitely leave the area terrified. How close do you think they're actually coming in on the car? I realize it's foggy and you can't see, but your impression at the time. Well, it would get really pretty close to the car, but then it would also go away. So the sounds, they kind of sounded like they were all around the vehicle, almost like if you're on a carousel and there is something loud playing and you're going in a circle, it would be like, it would like get loud and kind of go away. But then the last sound, which was the one that actually spooked us so bad that I drove
Starting point is 00:39:02 out of there. Like, it sounded like it was, like, right outside of my car. But we were in the back seat, so I couldn't see it, and it was foggy. So I don't know, maybe, I don't know how loud the voice range can go, but, I mean, it sounded like it was very close. It felt like it was trying like they or it or I don't know if it was one thing that could do that with his voice because it doesn't make sense, but it felt like it was trying to scare us away. Yeah, that was one hell of a first date. Yeah, right. You know, I've heard something similar to the Sierra Sounds in Texas.
Starting point is 00:39:49 It was kind of like it, but it wasn't exactly like it. But, you know, as I listened to it, and even if you listen to those, Sierra sounds, I get the impression like, that's some language. I mean, they're talking back and forth. That's not just, that's not just mumbling back and forth. I mean, they're, they're communicating. And I don't know if that was your impression when you were there that night, kind of listening to the whole thing. Yeah, yeah, it did. Yeah, it sounded like, um, like what I would think almost like, uh, you know, Neanderthal, like wobble, da, da, blah. But then the like the loud, cackling laugh, that sounded very, like, cartoonish, though.
Starting point is 00:40:34 That was, that was strange. That was, I think, more eerie, even though, like, hearing something talk with a language, like, yes, that's terrifying, but then, like, the loud, like, laughing, like, that, I think that almost, like, sent shivers down my spine even more than, like, hearing, like, the voice in some ways. Yeah, it's terrifying and it's creepy, but there's a lot of weird, creepy things about this subject. You know, I ask everyone on the show,
Starting point is 00:41:07 what do you think Sasquatch is? And there's no wrong answer, of course. But what are your thoughts, Lacey, after this experience? What do you think that they are? Oh, Wes, I knew you're going to ask me that. You know, I almost wonder if they are, like, old. old world beings that are still kind of stuck between, like if we are evolving and we are going further through evolution, you know, what if they are part of the old us that we used to be
Starting point is 00:41:49 able to see and interact with, but we, with the brains and the, the brains and the, um, like our brains really can only take in like what makes sense. So maybe they're part of the old world and yet we can't really comprehend them, but they still can interact with us at points. Or maybe they're part of another dimensional plane and sometimes they kind of come through to the third, the 3D. I don't know. I think that's a really good question. I like some of the listeners that you have that talk about like the Nephilim, but I still don't think that that really makes a whole lot of sense as far as how they, like, how can we not like find their bones? You know, if they were like actual beings that were bred by aliens and they have like a third
Starting point is 00:42:58 dimensional body, why do we not like find their skeletons? Yeah, that's actually a really good question. You know, most of the skeptical questions that people will present like where are the bodies, where are the, those are fair questions. I don't know. That's a very, very fair question. It's a very logical question, but in the same breath, I really don't know. You know, there is kind of this weird fear that comes over you when these things are around.
Starting point is 00:43:30 And that's kind of hard to explain. I don't know if that's what you meant by the third dimensional body, but there is this weird fear that comes over you. It's a very primal fear. And at times, there's no reason for that fear. You know, a lot of times people have that fear takeover before they even see the creature. And they will come in on people like they came in on you and the other guy. And, you know, I'm always surprised that more people don't get hurt. More people aren't harmed.
Starting point is 00:44:01 That's still hard for me to figure out. But that fear is very real. Yeah, you're completely vulnerable. I mean, if these things wanted to hurt you, they more than likely could. But I didn't feel like that was their intention. And I wanted to kind of clarify when you were talking about what Sasquatch might be and you were talking about kind of the old world being, you weren't talking about a Neanderthal, correct? I feel like old world, like in a sense, you know, we have evolved through many different stages of humanity. So the Egyptians and the Atlanteans and, you know, all these different things.
Starting point is 00:44:48 societies that have these different folklores. What if there was time and place throughout our evolution where maybe we were more in tune with the earth and the planet and the beings that are around us, but yet now we live in such a technical society that we don't tune into those frequencies. So it doesn't necessarily mean that those entities or those beings or those things aren't real, but we just can't see them. Yeah, for my, for my limited knowledge anyway, I kind of get what you mean. I think it's, um, there could be something to that because there's so many bizarre things that go on. Why do people always see these weird lights when these creatures are around? and it gets reported more often than not, you know, and then this weird language and why can no one catch up with them?
Starting point is 00:45:52 There's so many questions, but, you know, that night that you guys spent up there, I feel for you. I would have been, I would have been scared as well. And I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share it with us, Lacey. I really enjoyed chatting with you. Thank you, Wes, so much. I'm happy to be here. Thanks again, Lacey. And that's it for tonight.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Everyone, remember if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. I'll be back tomorrow night for the members. For everyone else, until next time.
