Reno writes "Hey Wes, been a listener of your show for a while now and I had a strange encounter on Thanksgiving (Canadian thanksgiving Oct 14th). Been hesitant to contact you about it but I thought you might want to hear it. I'm located in Northern Alberta. I'll start from the absolute start, my brother and a family friend went hunting around two years ago a few miles from my family friends house down an overgrown cut line that turns very swampy. My brother and him are avid hunters. It rained the night before and the ground was very soft as they went in on ATVs so my brother got off to see how bad one spot was to cross and noticed large footprints in the ground spacing around 8 feet apart in a straight line. They both never seen anything like that before so after leaving my brother came back to the spot and casted the track (I can send photos of the tracks and the print he casted) Fast forward to this Thanksgiving. Our family friend now lives in a different location, with a butcher living at that house. The butcher got a blood infection around a month before Thanksgiving and was in the hospital, so nobody was staying at that house for around a month. Me and my brother went to that place at around 11pm on the night before thanksgiving to use his smokehouse to smoke a biscuit for thanksgiving the next day. I stayed in my truck that was parked towards the overhead doors listening to music while it smoked while my brother stayed in the shop. I'm not very easily creeped out at all but the entire time I kept looking over my shoulder into the woods. I just had an eerie feeling the entire time sitting waiting for the meat to finish smoking. We finished up went back to my place in town and cooked it. Fast forward to Thanksgiving day. Me and my brother went back at around 2pm in the afternoon to use the shops butcher equipment to cut and package the meat. While my brother was inside I went to my truck to charge my vape. Across the gravel road lies a run down yard where a farmer has a run down trailer without siding with white paper exposed half blowing off and a couple of old beat up trashed vehicles. As I looked up after plugging in my vape I noticed through an opening in the trees there was a black figure that resembled a head moving out from behind the trees looking at me and moving back in, doing this continuously. I only noticed it because the white siding paper was directly behind it so it really stood out and it was the only thing moving because there was no wind that day. I stared at it for a few minutes trying to figure out what I was looking at and my brother eventually came looking for me and I pointed it out to him. We came to the conclusion that it was probably a person on a deck moving stuff in and out of the trailer. He went back inside and I kept looking at it and waved. About a minute after my brother went inside and after I waved this figure really started swaying fully into the opening and back behind the trees. I heard on your podcast of them doing this sort of thing but I blew it off thinking yeah right this has to be a person. I'm always teasing my brother about Bigfoot and now I'm seeing this from a yard that's a 10 minute drive from town? I eventually went inside helped my brother pack the meat and we left. There was no vehicle parked on the road or in the yard when we drove by and there was no deck on the side of the trailer where I saw the figure. That creeped me right out. We went back the next day to check out the yard and see if we could see if there was any evidence of something being there. We didn't find anything but I dropped my brother off exactly where the opening was and went back to the same spot in the yard where I stood the previous day to gauge how tall this was (I thought there was a deck where it was because it was so high up). There was an old junk truck near the opening and my brother stood inside of the door and put his hand all the way in the air and I could see the bottom of his fingers through the opening. After seeing that I got chills man. My brother is 6'3'' so whatever we saw was extremely tall. Would love to come on the show and talk about it if you'd like, don't want to use my actual name though. I feel like here in Northern Alberta Bigfoot encounters aren't too uncommon, I've heard accounts from family friends and my grandfather had a man that worked for him with a strange encounter building a dam with a family of the workers work from the other side of the river."   Angel writes "I writing to let you know of some encounters I have had over the years. My first encounter took place in Gordon County , Sugar Valley Ga near Johns Mountain in the early fall of 2013 when this encounter took place it was myself, my ex husband, my mother, and inlaws, we were in what they call the upper field checking on the pumpkins they had planted after my in laws got done checking on everything we were all standing around talking when all of sudden a tree falls, keep in mind we hadn't had any rain in weeks and the ground was super dry, and no wind was blowing, I made the comment it's weird the tree just falls and jokingly i said maybe its a bigfoot and my mother in law laughs it off and states trees fall all the time, I remember my father in law as well having to put scarecrows up to get animals out of the crops, i remember several times him saying the watermelons and pumpkins being spilt open in halves it appeared something had purposely spilt them open and were eating the inside , this property boarder's the WMA . the second incident happened in a different area of the same property, a few weeks after the tree fall, my ex husband and I had just pulled in our drive way when his cousin came running out of the house with his shotgun saying something tall and dark was trying to get the chickens , he had fired his shot gun towards the chicken coop, and the upright figure ran off, i asked him was it a bear and he said no a bear doesn't run upright on 2 feet, i went into the house and came out a few minutes later to get something out of the car when i noticed a huge footprint, i called my ex husband and his cousin over to look at it and his cousin said thats no average foot print. keep in mind it had been raining and the footprint was very distinct that was the only noticeable foot print as the rest of the area was grassy. we guessimated the footprint was about 14 inches in length, and about 8 inches in width after noticing the footprint we just brushed it off an went back into the house, nothing else happened after that. the final incident happened in the winter of 2013 in a little community in gordon county ga called nickelsville on hwy 136 , me and my niece had just left my parents house and it was right at dusk my niece was driving and had turned onto hwy 136 off of hwy 225 heading back towards Resaca when a large upright hair covered creature crossed the road in front of us the creature crossed from left to right and took 2 steps to completely cross the road, my niece freaked out slammed on breaks and stopped in the middle of the road and asked what fuck was that , we were both shocked and terrified at what we had just seen, my niece was so upset that i had to drive home. we guessimated it to be around 7 feet tall. it scared my niece so bad that she didnt wanna go on that road for a long time, keep in mind this about 20 miles from fort mtn where there has been numerous sasquatch encounters."

It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that shocked me. They don't make people that that big. The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything moves like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards.

I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears. What happened one, what are you reporting? Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That's son of a bitch is about six. This is about six foot nine. I don't know. Do you see a bouncer? Yes, I'm looking right here.

He would actually have to make a phone call down there and have whatever needs to be done, be done. And so these attackers cloned the CEO's

voice and actually started calling around the company. Transfer, you know, they stole money, they stole, they made a mess of things. The article reads, the AI threat, it's real, man, it's here. Take the whiz CEO incident where attackers used AI perfectly to replicate an executive's voice to authorize a fraudulent transfer bypassing traditional security measures. Now, friends, the Wiz CEO incident goes much deeper. The co-founder Asaf Rappaport noted that his employees had been targeted by a deep fake attack just two weeks ago. Dozens of my employees got a voice message from me, he explained, that the attack tried to get their credentials. Friends, the AI threat, it's real, and it's here. This isn't fearmongering, it's a wake-up call. The identity security revolution isn't coming. It's here. I don't understand. The card says,

A.I. Tony out. What is A.I. Tony? Is this the closing? A. B. Fing. Thing sucks. Do it live. F*** it. I will write it and we will do it live. We will do it live. We'll do it live. Okay. We'll do it live. I'll write it and we'll do it live. I can do it live. thing sucks! One thing that you'll notice is

AI is unable to have an authentic human expression or emotion. I know AI is unable to accomplish this now and it won't be able to accomplish it in the future. And there's kind of a reason why I won't bore you with the details.

But I can't make AI Tony laugh. I can't make AI Tony cry. I can't make AI Tony be depressed. As a technology grows, and it grows exponentially every day, and it gets better and better and better, it still won't be able to accomplish those things. The ears hear anger, but the brain isn't buying it. Is this the closing?

Thing sucks. Do it live. Fuck it. I will write it and we will do it live. We will do it live. You know, it's interesting. you can actually program AI to recognize and respond to human emotions, but again, it can't actually express those same emotions. It's almost like the machine lacks that spark of humanity. You'll also notice that AI Tony's volume, the amplitude and his voice doesn't change.

In fact, when you look at it like an audio wave, and you can download like Adacity or Garage Band to see what I'm talking about, You'll notice that AI's a waveform is perfect. When the human voice speaks, it's never perfect. And we don't sit like robots. When we're expressing anger, for example. We're animated. Our head is moving.

And Bill's volume and his voice is all over the place. You can tell he's truly pissed. We'll do it live. We'll do it live! We'll do it live! I'll write it and we'll do it live. I can, I'll write it and we'll do it live. I say all that to say this.

You're working at a job and one of your coworkers wants you gone. The coworker decides he's going to clone your voice and have a secret recording of you saying terrible things. And then he's going to release it to some of your coworkers under a fake someone who is concerned. Never happened, right? especially not at a school? April 2024, a Baltimore area teacher is accused of using AI

to make his boss appear racist. I'll explain how he did it and how he messed up. I'll play the audio. It's racist, but he doesn't use any racial slurs in his AI. I'm assuming he wanted this guy gone,

not killed. New this morning, we're learning more about what can happen when artificial intelligence is used with bad intentions. A former high school athletic director in Baltimore County in custody in connection with an AI-generated impersonation

of the school's principal. Allison is back now in studio with more on this story and she has the details on what happened here. This is a wild story with Baltimore County police say they believe 31-year-old Desondarian is behind an AI-generated racist voice recording that's circulated on social media earlier this year. Police say the former Pikesville High School athletic director

created the audio recording as retaliation against the school's principal when his contract was not renewed. The recording impersonated the principal's voice and it included racist and anti-Semitic insults about students. Charging documents state that the audio clip was originally sent to a friend group of three teachers, including Darien. Now, one of those educators admitted to police, she sent the clip to a news outlet and a student because she knew that student would spread that clip around. Darian originally denied any involvement, but police have now connected the email address that sent that audio clip to his grandmother's house out in L.A. with a recovery phone number being Darien's own cell phone.

Baltimore County police say that the former athletic director was taken into custody yesterday morning at BWI Marshall Airport as he was attempting to board a flight. Now, Baltimore County State's attorney Scott Schellenberger said that the case appears to be one of the first of its kind nationwide. He said the Maryland General Assembly may need to update state laws to catch out with the nefarious possibilities of this new AI technology.

Man, we knew it could be used in these kinds of bad ways. And here's one example, Wiz. Absolutely, yeah. You definitely got to be on the lookout for this kind of stuff now. And yeah, it's very sad. And I'll play the fake AI of the principle.

Again, it's racist, but the whole recording is so ridiculous. It's almost laughable. So in order to clone someone, I need about 30 seconds or so of a sample of that person's voice. I would prefer two minutes, like a two minute sample, but, you know, not a lot. You really don't need a lot with AI. And the other thing, too, like for the CEO, I don't want to go to YouTube and grab a sample of him at a conference or speaking at an event because it, however you record the sample is how the AI will interpret it. So, for example, if I record like this, I kind of like AI Tony more than the actual Tony. Now, when I clone my voice, it's going to sound like I'm that far away as opposed to me talking right now.

You know, I seriously don't understand why I have to constantly put up with these dumbasses here every day. So when this gym teacher actually created the sample or recorded the principal, this actually probably was from his office. You'll hear a lot of background noise, but you'll also notice that he doesn't know what to do with the background noise. And so in between each sentence, you hear it drop off like it's clipped. The other thing he does is in AI you can exaggerate someone talking. Again, you can't create emotions or expressions, but you can over exaggerate someone talking. And so it kind of gives that appearance of there's emotion behind it. Probably got a heater or a fan or do you hear it clip off?

Dumbasses here every day. This right here. So what he's doing is he's going into AI. He can't figure out how to... accommodate for that background noise. And he's typing in a sentence for the AI to say. For example, this is clip one. This is clip one.

He's cutting and pasting that and throwing it in the audio file and not even paying attention to the background noise. This is clip two. This is clip two. And so on. Between these ungrateful black kids who can't test their way out of a paper bag, or these teachers who don't get it. How hard is it to get these students

to meet their grade level expectations? Lawrence and Ravenel should have never been hired. And don't let me get started on DJ. I'm going to drag his black ass out of here one way or another. That guy right there where he says, I'm going to drag that guy out. The guy he's referring to is actually the person who wrote this AI audio file.

And what he did there is he typed that sentence in all caps. there was probably two exclamation marks and I guarantee he regenerated, regenerated, he was tweaking with that exaggeration tool to kind of speed it up a little bit where it sounds like he's pissed. But again, if you look at the audio file,

that's no louder than when he was talking in the beginning. The audio and the amplitude never changes. I'm going to get something to stick. I'm just so sick of the inadequacies of these people. And if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I'm going to join the other side. And that very last clip, every time he talks, it's a different clip. And he turned it down there in the beginning. You can tell the audio has been altered.

So he probably turned that down in the beginning where he's kind of rambling to himself down to like probably minus 15 dbs. And then as he's talking, he amplifies different areas. The last part, he really amplifies. And I wish I could show this as a presentation to really show you guys what I'm looking at. But there's nothing authentic about this recording. First of all, it's all piecemeal together. I mean, without even knowing this was AI or what had happened, that would be my very first comment. This whole thing has been pieced together.

The other thing is there's obvious signs that it's AI. It's not a real person talking. And when he listened to the recording, it makes no sense. So you walked into this guy's office and he made several racist comments. And there's no real context behind it? Like, where's the before and after? You just walked in, bam, hit record, capture all this. You know, stop.

I'm out of here. There's nothing about it that sounds authentic. And I'm really glad that this guy got caught. I think it's disgusting personally. I know why I do AI with, I play with Tony's voice and some other people, but it's in good fun. They know I'm not going to, you know, do anything on a level what this guy is doing. And, you know, this guy could have ruined this principal's life.

If everyone would have bought into this as being real, he would have ruined this guy's life. And, you know, for like the last 10 years, I've been begging for regulation. an AI because it will just become a weapon. If you made it this far, God bless you. Normally I don't like to do long intros like that, but I feel like it was really important because I do feel like we're going to see more and more of this sort of thing going on. And, you know, it isn't just AI audio. The visual is keeping right track with the audio.

It's terrifying, really, that you could be blamed for just about anything. and they're like, hey, we got you on video. Hey, we got this recording of you talking and you had no part of it. And what's the deal with those teachers in that school? I don't get not going to the principal being like, hey, we got this audio file. You know, can you tell us what's going on?

It's a little alarming. You know, or something like that. They pass it off to other teachers, students. Let's get it out there and burn this guy to the ground. You know, who needs enemies when you have coworkers like that? Tonight we'll be chatting with Reno and Waylon, who had an encounter in Alberta, Canada. The first incident, they had found this trackway, and the guy's got a pretty good cast. I'll post the pictures below.

Yeah, no worries. Yeah, we also have your brother, Reno. Reno, thanks for being here, ma'am. Yeah, thanks for having me, Wes. And if you would, Whalen, kind of walk me into this whole thing, because you guys had found this trackway, and then later on, both of you got a glimpse of the creature. If you would kind of start from the very beginning,

and I know this takes place up there in Alberta, Canada. It was in the fall up here, and I went hunting with one of my buddies. He's an older gentleman who doesn't walk very good. He had some back issues and stuff. So we took the quarter to the four-wheeler. I don't know what you guys call it down there. And we went up north of his place. And we live like pretty much, if you go north of his house,

you got like 200 miles of bush until you'll hit like service roads or rigs and stuff. And yeah, there's not a lot of settlements up from here north of here, really. So we were up there probably two or three miles north of his house. There's some cut lines and stuff. and then there's actually a couple fields knocked back way up in there like meadows almost so we're up there we were looking for track for elk and whatnot and we come around this one corner and the cut line gets kind of narrow and it looked kind of soggy so he was actually worried he might get stuck so i volunteered the i was on the back of the quad with him so i hopped off to just see how moist it was

because it looked kind of muskeggy so i was walking in front and i get up 40 50 yards in front of the quad and also I noticed these trackways that don't look like nothing I've ever seen and I've been hunting since I was 12 years old but yeah I wasn't really sure what I was looking at so I got down looked and the more I looked at it the more it looked like just a giant human footprint but the weirdest part of the whole thing was the spacing between the two that's what kind of really put me on edge was because there's one print plain as day but like four four and a half feet in front is the next one and there's no other tracks around and then you look up and in the next one. You could follow it for about, I want to say, 15 or 20 paces, and then it got

to more solid ground and disappeared. But yeah, so we saw that, and then he was asking what I was looking at, so he came over and looked at it. And he's in his 50s, and yeah, it kind of threw him through a loop, too, like, Big Time Hunter, and he's like, I've never seen any of this. This is crazy. Laity de, laity da. So actually, we went back the next day, and I casted a couple of them and still have them. Yeah, I'm looking at this print. You guys did a good job at casting this print, and I mean, it's right next to your foot or someone's foot.

And if anyone wants to check it out, go to saskatchchronicles.com underneath this episode, I'll post the picture. How big do you think that a print actually was? I think on the tape measure between 14 and 15 inches for the length, and the width was six or seven inches for the width on that. Yeah, so many encounters come out of Alberta. I've talked to so many, so many Canadians from there. And it's probably my favorite province,

because I know it the best, geography anyway, because I have spoken to so many Canadians there, but, you know, when you find this print, are you thinking Sasquatch or are you thinking, like, this is some guy with big feet that doesn't have his shoes on? Well, at the start is confusion because I was trying to work it out thinking maybe a double grizzly step or something because there's a few up in the area. But as you look closer, you can see it's one continuous track. It's not a double print.

And then also the fact that there's one print, the next print, the next print, the next print. They're spaced out so far. And up here, like, you can talk about big, like, it's not common to talk about Bigfoot, but you're not going to get laughed at publicly or anything because I think most people up here have had seen maybe something or they've heard. to someone who's seen something. So it's not as taboo up here, really. Yeah, I've definitely noticed that. Canadians are pretty open about it.

I think it's because of the long history. I mean, the whole term Sasquatch actually comes from Canada, from the Sahelish people. But, you know, I know they didn't call it Sasquatch, but that's how we pronounced it. And we just kind of went with it. On this trip, you guys find these tracks. And again, I admire the fact that you guys,

them, but did anything else happen on this trip? Nothing on that trip, no. And then, yeah, we didn't really have any more activity there, although I didn't go hunting around there much for the next couple years. And then just on this Thanksgiving here is when we had the encounter that we did. All right, so I'll do like the night before, but like led up to it. So this is like the day before Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, we're going to smoke a brisket.

for Thanksgiving. So we bought one the day before. Then we went out to that property because he owns like a butcher shop sort of thing. Like he has butchering supplies and whatnot in like a smokehouse. So we went over to his shop. No one's living there, right? Because the guy who's living there, he got sick. And he was gone for like, I don't know, maybe a month.

So no one's been there for a month. So anyway, it's like we go over. there, smoked the brisket. I think we started at like midnight, right? And then, uh, so anyways, well, was in the shop and the brisket was smoking and there's no service inside the shop. So I just stayed in my truck.

And I was parked and the back of my, back my truck's like facing the woods, right? And anyways, like he's inside. I'm on my, on my phone, like listening to music and stuff. And the whole time, it just felt like, I don't know, I just had this weird feeling, man. Like, I was just looking over my shoulder the entire time in my truck. And I'm not usually like creeped out by stuff like that, you know, like, just because

we don't found tracks not too far away. Like, it never bothered me sort of thing. But the whole time out there, like, I was just always looking over my shoulder. Like, I just had a creeped out feeling. And then we wrapped up it around three in the morning. and then we went back to my place, put in the oven, went to bed and cooked it. And then the next day, like Thanksgiving Day,

we went back out there to cut up the brisket with his meat slicer and, like, vacuum seal everything and stuff. So the next day, we went back at like 2 p.m. And Whelan's inside, cutting the brisket. Well, we both are. And I had to go charge my vape because it died. So I went out to my truck. and when I plugged it in, I looked up and across the road

where there's a gravel road at the end of his driveway and there's a there's like a farm like a farmer's junk stuff that he has like he has like old vehicles and there's a trailer without its siding on so it has like white tiepar showing and you can kind of see all that stuff behind the trees and when I looked up I noticed something black moving in the trees.

Like there's a little like triangle opening. And the only reason I saw it is because it was in front of the building. So it really stood out and it looked like it looked like a head peeking out behind a tree and going back in and out and in. So like, and there was no wind that day. It was the only thing moving. I was like, huh, what's that? So I'm looking at it for a bit, looking at it for a bit.

I'm probably standing there for like five minutes looking at this. And then Whalen comes and finds me, he's like, hey, like, are you going to come, come and help me? I go like, dude, what is that? And he looks over and he's looking at it. He's like, I don't know. And I'm thinking to myself, like, trying to make sense of it. Like, what is this? I thought it was like the people that own that place.

Like, I thought it was people moving stuff inside and outside the trailer. like I thought there was a deck like on that side of the building because that's how high up it was and that's the only thing I could think of like oh it has to be someone moving stuff inside and outside of this building I was probably like 120 yards away from it and so Whalen came out we're both looking at it and I was like that's weird he's like yeah that is weird we look at it for a bit he goes back inside he's like oh whatever I don't know what it is and then I stay outside and I'm still looking at it right and it's still doing the thing like it looks like like it's peeking out and then going back in. And then I wave, like I waved at it because it looks

like, I don't know, like someone kind of looking at me or something. So I wave at it. And after I waved at it, this thing started rocking man all the way out into the opening and then all the way in. It looked like a head just all the way out, all the way in, all the way out, all the way in. And I've heard on your show before, people have seen them doing that rocking thing. And I, I, I, I thought to myself, like, is this what I'm looking at? But I couldn't really believe it because that property isn't like way out in the bush or anything. Like I figured like if I'm going to see something weird, it's going to be like an hour in the bush when I'm like doing oil field work or something, you know? So I really like dismissed it and just made up other ideas of what I saw, right?

I'm like, huh, it just looked like a silhouette. Like, it just looked like a silhouette of a head, a head in his shoulder. Yeah, like when I saw it, you could see like a head and a shoulder almost peeking out. And at the time, like, there's quite a few people who go around to old yards and try to like pick stuff up. So I thought maybe there was like maybe like a junkie or something hanging out like going through the house. Because it's an old derelict house out there. Maybe trying to find something worth anything. to take.

So I just thought maybe it's that. I'll go see on the way out when we're leaving because I just had to get this neat cut up and kayvac and everything packaged up. So I was like, oh, I'll slow down when we go by and see if someone's got like a little car or something hidden in there because, yeah, don't really want them hanging around the property out there. So when we went to pull out, I pulled up and there's just like an approach and the grass and this little derelict yard is like, I don't know, knee high almost.

and there's no tracks, no nothing. And that's what I kind of thought. I'm like, huh, that's kind of weird. And at the time, when Reno came back in after we saw it really started swaying, I didn't know about that until like that night when we got back to the house. He's like, oh, yeah, that thing started really moving when I was looking at it. And I was like, oh, shit. But yeah, so then we went back the next day and gauge the height and whatnot because I was like,

huh, I was weird. So I got him to drive back to the shop where we were standing. And then I was out there and I had to climb up on the back of some old broke-down. truck and like really lean over into the gap in the trees and then I stuck my arm all the way up and he said he could just barely see my hand through that gap because there's a fairly large gap where the two trees bowed open made an opening and I'm six foot four and when I was standing on that I was probably another foot in the air and then my arm up maybe another two so you're talking like nine nine and a half feet up yeah that thing's huge man now it makes a lot of sense why

Reno thought it was standing on a deck. Are you guys closer to Wood Buffalo, or are you more on like the Peace County side? Fairly close to the Peace River, north of the Peace River, up in that area. But like, we're fairly close to the British Columbia border. Like, we're about an hour away from that. So it's not really central Alberta. It's like northwestern Alberta. And so, Whalen, you were basically thinking it was some weirdo out there.

and it wasn't, was it until Reno kind of told you what he had seen of it swaying from side to side and, you know, kind of realizing how big it is? Is that kind of when you were like, oh, maybe this was a Sasquatch? Yeah, pretty much, right? Like, it was later on when all of a sudden I just dismissed it instantly. I didn't think much. I had other stuff on my mind at that moment. And, yeah, after we got back and he mentioned that, and I was like, oh, you actually saw it sway out?

he's like, yeah. I'm like, huh, I kind of wonder how high that is. Then we went back. And after seeing how high it was, I was like, yeah, okay, there definitely wasn't a person because there's nowhere to stand in there. Like I had to stand on the back of this truck and lean all the way out and stretch my arm all the way out and up. And then he could barely see it in the one corner of that opening.

So it's not like someone had a 45-gallon drum out there and was standing on the top of it peeking around. And where you saw the track line and, you know, know you guys have got those casts and now you're on this property are they kind of close to each other yeah no so like this farm yard area is actually my older gentleman who i hunted with it's his property he recently built in nicer property somewhere else so this is just kind of like his shop and stuff his newer property doesn't have a shop so he goes out there right now and then to do stuff but no one really stays out there so when we were hunting north of his place it was that place so it was

about two, three miles north of this place is where we were hunting. This yard's like, this derelict yard where this all happened is probably 50 yards from the gravel road and then the ditch and then there's probably five yards of trees. Like it's not super thick, but it's not really open either. And yeah, so looking around there, there's not a lot of undergrowth around them trees, but then when you get a little bit off the trees into the yard, it's all knee-high grass. and we went back, you couldn't really see a trackway or anything. Like there was one little deer path, which was just kind of the grass pushed out of the way

where you can see maybe a couple of deer or a moose or something walked through there. And I mean, it could have took that path, but I did not see any definitive, like, its own trackway or its own tracks or anything. There's nothing really there to see in that aspect. I got you. So you guys actually looked around for any other evidence. Let me ask you, Reno. I mean, when you saw this creature, you wave at it and it starts swaying. I kind of think that's like nervous behavior.

When I waved at it, I think it did nothing for a little bit. Then it started swaying, swaying all the way into the opening, then all the way out. And all the way in and then all the way out. Like maybe it like knew I saw it and then it started doing that. But it was definitely weird. And like it was on Thanksgiving. So another thing that went through my mind was like, all right, so maybe let's just say this might be a crackhead

scoping out buddy's yard for stuff to steal. But why are you wearing all black, you know, and why are you all the way up in a tree? And when I waved, you know, if that was a person, like, oh, hey, I'm caught. You know, you're not going to start swaying back and forth, you know. Yeah, and, you know, Canadians are pretty cool.

I mean, if he say, hey, I'm over here or you wave, you know, they're going to wave back to you. Even someone who maybe doesn't belong there, if it would have been a crackhead, A, he wouldn't have been that big. But he would have been like, oh, you know, I've been seen and take off. This property that you guys saw this creature on, have you talked to your friend, the guy that actually owns it, and asked him if he had actually seen anything on this property before? No, no, he hasn't seen anything weird or anything like that. But we told him about it. He's like, huh?

And he believed us and stuff. But he's an old hunter from way back. So even back in the day, he'd seen a thing or two. And he had friends who'd seen a thing or two. And there's one fellow up here who even started trying to document. He's a well-off fellow from up here. And he actually got very into the subject. And he's one of the property owner's friends of ours.

And, yeah, he actually made, like, like a documentary on the subject because he had quite a few encounters, maybe two or three up in this area. Makes me wonder if it was just kind of passing through and it was just a chance encounter of seeing one and it got curious on what, you know, Reno was doing over by the truck. Or maybe it smelled that brisket. Yeah, right. Like, it's hard to say.

I wouldn't think there'd be any, I mean, they could hang around this area. Like there's a lake not four or five hundred yards south of the property, like a fairly good size little lake. And then, yeah, there's moose, deer, elk, everything all over up here. Yeah, is that the slave lake? No, it's not that big of a lake, no. It's like, how what the heck's it called? I think it's called Black Duck Lake or something like that. It's a smaller lake.

Like it's nothing you ever go to. It I think it only takes up maybe 100, 140 acres, maybe less. More like a swamp. I gotcha. Yeah, I guess Slave Lake is kind of more in the middle of Alberta. Let me ask you, Reno. You know, I know what you saw was kind of a glance. And, you know, it's moments like these that really make you look into the subject.

I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take, man? Honestly, Matt. I have no idea. Like, I usually, like, I used to think that they're just an ape, you know, undiscovered ape, just an animal. I have no idea. Like, I always just thought it was an animal. Always.

But then I started listening to your podcast, right? And some of the stories, like, it makes me question it because why would these people come on and make up these crazy stories? He's like, that's not happening, right? So, I don't know. I think there's more stuff to it than just an ape. Yeah, you and me both, Reno. You know, it's one of those things to where I really want it to be an ape, but then you hear all these bizarre things that go on over and over and over again.

And, you know, you're hearing from hunters. And, you know, it's like, are you sure that was glowing eyes? Are you sure that that wasn't eye shine? and, you know, I wasn't there, but you hear that sort of stuff over, you know, as one example, you hear it over and over and over again, and it makes you wonder, man, you know, and even when you talk to some of your First Nations people, much like our Native Americans, you don't quite get so much of a clear picture of it being just an animal. Some tribes will say that, but most tribes kind of have this weird stuff that goes on with these creatures as well. It's so hard to say.

What about yourself, Whalen? What do you think that they are? Well, yeah, I've heard lots of stories, some things that just don't really add up to it being strictly a flesh and blood creature. And also, like, the natives up here, they call these creatures skook them, like animals with power, but like not an animal, like something more than an animal. But yeah, like skookum, like medicine. right so i don't know i truly believe that they are yes they are physical but maybe they're somehow tied into interdimensional things i'm something more than we can grasp at the current current moment is what i'm thinking it is which pretty much the same thing but uh yeah if i had to take a guess i'd probably say that like i truly believe these things can be shot and they can't bleed

but I also think like I've heard stories, people having trails and all of then they vanish and no one knows. Yeah, there's even a lot of places here in the Pacific Northwest called Skookum, and some tribes do call them Skookum. It's interesting. You'd mention it. It meant medicine. I always thought it meant like large size or strong and brave. I mean, I could be wrong. I was always under the impression that's what that word meant.

but maybe it has different meanings. Every dialect's a little different on the direct interpretations, but how I was always explained it by like my uncles and relatives who are more native is that it meant like power, strength, something along those lines, but something like more than physical. Like they'd say Wendigo is Skookum or Sasquot, just Skookum, like creatures of power sort of. Yeah, I just looked it up. You're right.

It does have different meanings. You know, it doesn't mean like little man here in Washington or in the States anyway. But all the meetings are kind of the same. This property that you guys went to, is it something you have plans on going back? Is it an area where, you know, you guys go for Thanksgiving there in Canada? No, it's actually close to our family's place. Like it's, I don't know, maybe seven or eight miles from our folks' place. so and also our buddy stays out there every now and then like uh our buddy who owns a property has a

as a friend who stays out there every now and then and sometimes we go over and visit him if he was up but other than that yeah we don't really go out there for any occasions really it's just every now and then if our friends stand out there we'll swing by or yeah sort of that situation or if we have to use because they got like meat set up in the shop for processing meat like a big smoker, a big grinder, a big bandsaw and stuff. So if we're hunting, we might go out there and process our animal there. And I know you guys went back to do measurements and stuff, but with it being so close to your property,

have you gone back since then? Yeah, yeah, no, we've gone back quite a few times, probably half dozen times since. And we haven't seen anything really as of late. So I'm assuming whatever this creature was, it wasn't hanging around at least. least maybe got drawn in by the smell of the smoke that night or smoking that meat all night. That's why I think.

Like, I think it was drawn in by what was going on, like the smoke or whatever. I had that weird feeling, kept looking over my shoulder the whole time. So I kind of think that something was watching from the woods. And there's no, like,

buddy, he took his dogs down to his other property. So there's literally no dogs there. No one there for like over a month. and then I think the next day was just curious to see what we're doing there. I had a guess. Yeah, that makes the most sense. I agree with you, Reno.

I think that's what brought it in. And, you know, maybe it was passing through, but maybe it wasn't because where you guys got those prints was not far away from this place. But I'm kind of with you. I think maybe the smell of the food brought it in. And the encounter doesn't shock me one bit. Like I said before, I've had so much come out of Alberta. And it has a long history down there. You guys have got Banff.

You guys got Jasper. I mean, there's a long history of Sasquatch there in Canada, especially where you guys are at, you know, a little bit farther south. But, you know, as far as historically. But nowadays, it's more up in your guys' area. I would love to know if, you know, you guys go back and check on the property. And if anything else happens. Yeah, for sure.

we'll definitely be the first person who knows if we see something else up here. Well, I appreciate it, fellas, and I appreciate you guys coming on. Reno, thank you so much for coming on, man. You know, most encounters are like this, kind of what you and your brother experienced. And, you know, if on every show you're hearing where someone's on the edge of being killed, you should probably start questioning what I'm doing because it's not reality.

Yes, those encounters happen. But, you know, most encounters are like what you and your brother experienced. But I appreciate it. Whalen, thanks so much for coming on. Yeah, for sure, man. Thanks for having me. No, it's kind of last minute to be to hop on there. But yeah, I appreciate telling my spin on what I saw and whatnot.

Yeah, absolutely. Americans are rooting for you, Canada. This American is rooting for you. Next up on the show, I want to welcome Angel. Angel, thanks for coming on. Thank you. Yeah, and you had this encounter in 2013 in Georgia. If you would, kind of start from the beginning.

What were you doing and what happened? At the time I was married, it was me and my husband and his parents and my mom. We were all up what they call the upper field where they had their watermelons and pumpkins planted. and we had gone up there to check on everything because my father-in-law had been having issues with what he thought were coyotes getting into his pumpkins and like just splitting them in half. So we all went up there to check on those and they ended up having to put a scarecrow up thinking that it was the coyotes. And we were all standing around talking and we just, me and my mom were standing there talking and mother-in-law too. And we heard like a tree fall.

And I made the comment, I wonder if that's a big foot knocking a tree over. and my mother-in-law at the time just laughed it off like, ha-ha, those things don't exist, you know. And their property borders the wildlife management in the area. So, you know, there's been sightings before in that area. And they just blew it off. I didn't, but I really didn't talk about it. Because, you know, when you believe in somebody else doesn't believe,

then it kind of raises that boundary. and I was just like I'm not even going to pursue it anymore. I'm not going to say anything else about it. And then we just went on about our business, but my father-in-law at the time couldn't figure out, like, what was getting into his pumpkins? Because it's not like it was a bear or a coyote. It's like something was taking it and just splitting them apart

and eating the insides out of them. And I told them, too. I said, well, if it wasn't like a bear or a coyote, they would, like, be bite marks, not like somebody takes it with their insides out of them. hands and pulls it apart. That's what it looked like. Like somebody was pulling it apart and something was eating the insides and just

leaving the rind of the pumpkin. And there were several times that happened with their watermelons too. And I was just like, this isn't, this isn't normal. This isn't something that a coyote or a bear would do. This has to be something else. But it never really dawned on me that, you know, it could have possibly been a big foot. That never really dawned with me until the day we heard. the tree fall, and then another incident that happened fairly close to that, like within a

couple weeks on their property, on their property where they live. So when those two encounters happened, I was kind of like, yeah, we've got something going on here. Yeah, and that's interesting with regard to the pumpkins and watermelons. I can't think of too many other things that would do. that. Tell me about the next incident before we get to where you actually saw the creature. The second incident had happened. Me and my mom and husband at the time was coming home, and I want to say we were coming home from church, but I can't really honestly remember. But I do know we were coming home from church or town or somewhere, and it had been raining on this incident.

The first one, it wasn't raining. The second incident, it was raining, and we had pulled in. and where we lived, his cousin lived in the house next to us, and we stayed in the mobile home behind it, and his cousin ran out with a gun shooting towards their chicken coop, and he's like, did y'all see that? And I was like, I didn't see it at the time. I said, what was it? A bear?

He said, no, a bear doesn't run on two legs like that. I said, then what is it? He said, some big, hairy creature was trying to get in the chicken pin. Well, I didn't think anything of it. We all went in the house. Well, I had to come back out, I think, and get my phone or phone charger out of the car. And as I went around the car, there was a footprint.

And I have that footprint in a picture on another phone. And I'm trying to get that phone charge where I can get the footprint off. But that was a footprint that I will never forget. I even sent it to my friends. And I was like, look at this huge footprint. Like, this is not a normal human footprint. And I called my husband at the time and his cousin over, and they're like, I can't explain that footprint.

and it's just I knew by the footprint what it was. And I think at the time, my husband at the time, I think he finally realized that it was something to it more than a bear or anything like that. But he just didn't want to say anything in front of them because he didn't want the harassment of him kind of believing. it was like 14 inches in length. Like it's and you could see the toes like the imprint of the toes was like you could really see that this was not a human foot. And I think when I sent you the email it was like 14 inches in length and like 8 inches in width.

I mean it was two of my hands I could put beside it and this footprint was bigger than both of my hands put together. I will never And I That's what I'm my boyfriend I was like I wish I could get that picture and send you Because then that would make you Understand really how big this footprint was Yeah I would love to see it

If you're able to find it I know sometimes I have old phones I can't even tell you where they're at But for sure if you find it I would love to see it And you said that was your cousin that saw the creature His it was actually my husband at the time It was his cousin that started

all the creature because he ran out of the house with his shotgun shooting at it. And I was just like, when we got there, I was like, what's going on? He's like, y'all didn't see that? And I was like, no. Because the way their chicken coop was set up, it was behind a tree. So I didn't really see, I really didn't see the creature when we pulled in. But then when I came back out to the car to get my phone is when I realized the footprint, I was like, did he circle behind the house?

and then come back like he was going back towards the chicken pen, or did that footprint, did he walk up that way, and we just happened not to run over the footprint? Because, I mean, the footprint, there was only one, and it was just as plain as day beside the car. And that's what I told my husband at the time. I was like, I can't figure out if that footprint was there, and we just somehow didn't run it over.

Or maybe there was more there, and we just never looked for them, and maybe ran some over, because the way our yard was was like really muddy. So there could have been more footprints and we just didn't even think to look because of all the excitements. That property where they live is close to John's Mountain. So both the encounters we've had

has been close to Fort Mountain and John's Mountain. But these two happen in Sugar Valley near the John's Mountain side. Yeah, it does kind of make you wonder, if it kind of backtracked and came back or if those prints were already there. How many years later was it that you actually saw the creature? It was the winner of 2003. I just about know it was mid-December.

My niece had actually moved down from, I want to say, Virginia or Minnesota. She was living up there and she had moved down. and my mom had actually lived in Murray County at the time, and we were leaving her house. We had been over there all day, and we were actually heading back to where the second incident happened, but we had just turned. There was a four-way stop, and we had just turned,

and my niece was driving, and we were just talking, like, random conversation, and all of a sudden this thing, and it was all of seven to eight-foot-tall leaped, and when I say leaped, He didn't miss a beat over the road. He never touched the blacktop. He just leaped out in front of us.

And my niece's exact words was, holy blank, what was that? And it scared her so bad that she would not get out of the car. She put the car in part, jumped over the seat into the passenger seat, and told me, you're driving us home. And she, to this day, will not talk about that incident. She believes, but she will not talk about it. It's definitely something you won't forget. It was tall and definitely hairy.

And I mean, there's no human because my brother tried to recreate the steps. And there's no way, and he's six foot three. There's no way that he could recreate what me and her saw. This thing was tall, hairy, dark brown. And it was right at dusk, like when, you know, when it's just first getting dark. But our headlights, you could tell very clearly he'd just come up. out of the ditch, cross the road and went out into the field and was gone in a blink of an eye.

And it was definitely something you won't forget. Makes me wonder if it was the same one that was actually trying to get into the chicken coop. Did you and your former husband's cousin, did you guys ever sit down and kind of compare notes? We didn't because they don't believe and they just would laugh it off and be like, like, ha-ha, you know, you're exaggerating and all this. My niece, on the other hand, she said, I wouldn't doubt if that's what it was that was trying to get in the chicken coop that day because I had told her the story

after our signing, and she's like, I wouldn't doubt it. And, you know, if you do research all in Gord County, Ameri County, there's been sightings by other people. So I know they're around here. You've just got to be lucky enough to run into one. Was there any more activity on the property after you had actually seen it? Or did it kind of drop off after 2013? Actually, we had moved after that, and then shortly after that, that's when we had divorced.

So we really, you know, after 2013, we moved off that property. They might still be happening. I don't know. But if they are, they've not said anything about them. But I have not had any other encounters or anything since. then, and I've been hiking pretty frequently, so up till this past year, and I've not had any more counters. Not saying I ever will, but as far as on that property, you know, anything, I don't know of anything.

Yeah, I think any encounter really is kind of a shock to the system. But, you know, when it's happening on your property or, you know, I know you guys were in a car, but when it happens that close, it kind of hits different. It's very eye-opening. I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take? You know, I was talking to my boyfriend about that, and I honestly can't answer because, you know, I hear a lot of people say they think they're a primate, and some say they think it's part

human. I honestly don't know. I know they're among us, and, you know, I think if you respect them, they respect you, but I honestly can't answer what they are, and I've even researched trying to get answers, and I just, I can't, I can't answer that honestly, Wes. Yeah, it's so hard to say what they are. I was talking about this the other day, I think on a member show. But, you know, when the mountain gorilla was discovered, I think it was 1902,

eyewitnesses would come back and they would have these stories about, you know, this manlike creature they would run into. It wasn't a monkey. It wasn't. But within those encounters, when they came back, you never heard of any weird stuff. People weren't saying while their eyes were glowing or just vanished or So it's like when you get something like that's like what do you do with it?

There's just so many weird things with this subject But I really appreciate you taking the time to come on. I really enjoyed chatting with you. Thank you, Wes. Thanks again, Angel.
