Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1150 The Round Butte Incident

Tonight I will be speaking with Corey from Central Oregon. Corey in 1994 was partying on Round Butte. That night turned into terror as the group was spot lighted from this large ball of light in the sky. On their way out Corey and his friends saw a large creature and decided to give chase. The night gets much stranger.

Oh, I thought it was complete BS, absolutely complete BS. Because at that point, my whole viewpoint was it's just some ape running around in the woods. And in my opinion, and I still hold this opinion, I'm sure we'll get into that later. If it was just an ape running around the woods, everybody'd know about it. Yeah, I seen Harry in the Henderson's. I had never really seen the Gimlin video. I still don't know quite what to think about that because that's not what I encountered. But I thought it was ridiculous.

And if somebody told me they believed in Sasquash, I would have told you they were out of their mind. It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind. And it either heard me or smelt me. And he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up. And that shocked me. They don't make people that big. The way it moved. Almost as if it was gliding across the beach.

I've never seen anything moves like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language, and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards. I know what a bear looks like, and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears. Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That son of a bitch is about six foot nine. I don't know.

And, you know, back in 2015, I remember being contacted by this deputy, and he was heading down this canyon, and he saw this creature on the side of the road. He didn't come on the show, but as he was describing this creature, it sounded very much like a Sasquatch to me until he got to the face. And I remember him describing the face to me, and it almost kind of sounded like feline. It was the strangest call. I mean, I didn't know what to, how to process that. He had brought up these yellow eyes and, but everything else about this creature that he described sounded like Sasquatch. About two years later, I'm talking to a wildlife biologist in Oregon. He was up near Mount Hood and he stumbled upon this creature.

And he starts describing it to me. And again, everything about it sounds like Sasquatch. until he got to the face. And I remember him talking about these weird yellow eyes that he was looking at. The guest tonight, Corey, we were chatting the other day, and he was telling me about this incident that happened to him 31 years ago. In 1994, he was in central Oregon. They were out parting.

I know exactly where he was at. And how he describes it is exactly how it is, especially coming down that, that ridge line, that mountain up there. I don't know if you'd really call it a mountain. It's more of a, I guess, large hill. But Corey goes into describing this very, very strange event. And the more I thought about it, the more I almost wonder if all of this was nothing more than like an alien UFO encounter. But I'll let you guys decide.

Corey, thanks for coming on. You bet, Wes. Thank you. Yeah, and you had this very strange encounter. We're going back to 1994 in Central Oregon. Take your time and tell me what happened. All right. Well, it was a typical summer central Oregon night. Us kids back in them days, we like to party outside. We didn't do house parties and stuff. We'd go somewhere and build a fire and you know and everybody

stand around the fire and do their thing. And we had a little place. There's a hill right outside of Culver is called Round Butte. And it's just a conical shape butte. And it's probably, I don't know, seven, eight hundred feet tall, maybe something like that. Not very big. I mean, you can see it from miles away, but it's just a real simple little but beaut. And it's got a road that spirals up to the top of it. And once you get up there to the top, it's just kind of a, you know,

just kind of a bald knob with a couple pull-offs where you can, you can fart around and build a fire and stuff. And you can see panoramically the cascade range, you can see from St. Helens all the way to Mount Bachelor. And on the other side, you can see all the way to the Ocho Coes and the Grizzlies and

and all that good L-cutting country. So from up there, and this is high desert sagebrush type country. So once you get on top of Roundbute, you can see for several hundred miles in every direction. So it's a pretty wide open terrain and definitely not one that you thought you'd go through what we did that night. But anyway, there was about six of us. I think we were in three different cars. And we headed up there.

We were down at a party at the cove, the lake down there, Lake Billy Chinook at a campground. and we were there until about midnight 1 o'clock. And everybody was drinking beer and smoking doobies and that kind of stuff. But there was a girl with our group that night that was smoking hot. And I had a little bit of a crush on. So I was actually kind of behaving myself that night because she didn't do any of that stuff. So I didn't want her to see me doing it. And the campground was shutting down and they run us all out of there.

So it was probably about 12 midnight, maybe 1 o'clock. We said, hell, let's head up to Roundview, you know, and go up there and finish off the party. So we took off and we headed up to Round Butte. And we got up there and built this little fire. And there was five or six of us. And we were hanging around the fire. And one of my best friends, Trevor, he had kind of drifted off from the party. And he was kind of standing over, you know, 20, 30 feet away.

And he'd been over there for a little bit. And finally I walked over and said, what are you doing over here? And he was like, you see that light, that star? And he pointed at the star. And it was brighter than the rest of the stars. And I said, oh, that's probably a planet. I don't know what direction it was supposed to be in. but it's probably Venus or whatever.

And he's like, well, yeah, that's what I thought, but it's been moving. I was like, you're crazy or whatever. And I went back to the fire and this and that. And he still never come back. And I looked over at him again. I was going to wonder what he was doing it again. And I seen that light again. And I noticed it had moved.

So I went back over to him. And he said, hey, man, I'm serious. That light is moving. And it's kind of coming right at us. And so I stood right beside him. And we're both looking at this light. And pretty soon just kind of added. And at first, it seemed like it was 100 miles away.

And then suddenly, this thing's a thousand yards away in the sky. And it's floating right towards us. And I was like, damn, you're right. That thing is moving. But it had no blinking lights on it. And there was zero sound. So we're sitting there staring at it. And pretty soon you can obviously tell this thing's coming right at us.

We're thinking, this was before drones or any of that kind of stuff. So we're thinking, that's got to be a helicopter or something. I don't know if it's blue thunder on whisper mode or air wolf or whatever, but you couldn't hear it. There was no rotor wash or anything like that. It was just a light coming right out. So pretty soon we got the attention of everybody else and said, hey, come look. So we're all standing there, all six of us. And this light just kept floating right at us.

And then pretty soon it's 100 yards away from us up in the air, still floating right at us. And we're all looking at it. And nobody knows what it is. And that thing floated and got right above us. all of us are staring at it and all of a sudden ace the brightest spotlight i've ever seen shine right on us to the point where i remember i remember seeing the girls beside me putting their elbow over their eyes type deal i did we all blocked ourselves and then all the sudden it got dark and we all look back up and you could kind of see the remnants of that thing

you know just like when you shut a light off it kind of slowly shuts off and then it was gone and there was zero sound but we had all been spotlighted so we knew something had just happened and it was like what in the hell could that possibly have been because it made zero sound well we're sitting there talking about it and tripping and going what the hell

and all of a sudden Trevor my buddy Trevor goes there's there's two more over there so we all turn and look and down at the bottom around Butte over towards the lake there's a huge area down there it's probably it's probably seven 800 acres of just sagebrush

and BLM that butts up to the canyon that drops down into the Metolius. And I've coyote hunted down there for years. And there's no roads down there. Zero roads in there. And by now it's 1.32 o'clock in the morning. And we look down there and what it looks like is like there's three or four people with lanterns walking around out there. That's what we first thought. They're kind of intermingling with each other and kind of bouncing off each other and doing their thing. And we're thought, what the hell would anybody be doing down there at two o'clock in the morning, you know, this or that, and we're watching them, all of a sudden one of them, you can tell it's not on the ground.

It's 20 or 30 feet in the air. And then pretty soon another one of them is 20 or 30 feet in the air. Well, we keep watching these things. Pretty soon those two that we're going up, they're at eye level with us. We're on top of the Butte. They're seven, 800 feet in the air. So now we're really wondering what the hell is going on. well pretty soon the other two or three or whatever was on the ground they all start floating up and we watched all four or five of these things float straight up into the sky way up into the sky until they disappeared and at that point everybody got scared and we were like we need to get the hell out of here so everybody jumped in their cars and we ripped off of that mountain and when me and my buddy trevor that first seen the deal and my buddy fad we were all in his little dats and pickup and we were last and like

everybody else got out in front of us and they were gone we're headed down the hill and about i don't know probably 20 or 30 yards ahead of our headlight we all three because you don't take your eyes off the road because it's steep and it's a narrow road and so everybody's looking forward it's pitch black i see something whip across the road like float across the road and it looks like a house is floating down the hill and we all look at each other. I'm like, did you see that? They're like, what in the hell was that? So we drive up to where that was and we make sad stop. He's driving. My buddy Trevor jumps out of the rig, and we're all horrified. But Trevor had gigantic balls, and he had to see what this thing was. So he gets out

of the pickup, and he starts walking down the hill chasing this thing. My buddy, Thad's scared to death. He wants to leave. He's like, to hell with this, we got to get out of here. Something's going on here tonight. We don't need to be a part of it. that well i got out and jumped in behind trevor to go with him because i was scared to death for him so we get about 50 yards down the hill and you can see this huge shape moving down in front of us it's not making any sound at all but it's moving down in front of us and Trevor's right on its tail and i the whole way down the hill i'm saying Trevor Trevor come on you know i'm scared absolutely to death so we get down there away and finally i catch up to Trevor and he puts his hand back

I mean, make me stop. And what happened is, is that way that road corkscrews up to the top of that hill, well, we had jumped out of the pickup on the road, and we had traversed downhill enough that we hit the next switchback below us. And when we got there and he stopped me, I didn't know why he stopped me, and then he whispered, it's right there. And he's pointing forward. And I look, and I can see this thing.

You can see the shape of it. There was a little bit of a moon out and a lot of stuff. stars and you could just see enough, you could see the silhouette of this thing. And if I had to guess, I would have said 10 feet tall and a thousand pounds. It's just standing there right in the middle of the road. And Trevor, for whatever reason, he keeps walking slowly towards the thing. I'm grabbing him. I'm begging him to stop going towards the thing. We obviously know it's standing there. I don't want to find out what it is. But he's just, destined to touch this thing. And we get about probably 10 yards from this thing at the most,

and we both stop. And you can see this thing standing there, and you can hear it breathing. And we're just standing there horrified. And then all of a sudden from about 100 yards behind it, and then another one about 100 yards down the hill, I hear what I know as a dying rabbit sound. And if you've ever done any coyote hunting, when you're calling coyotes in, you use what's a wounded cotton tail or a wounded jackrabbit call. And it sounds like a, it sounds like a woman being brutally murdered or something. It's a, wha! You know, it's a really loud, uncomfortable noise. But that's the sound rabbits make, if they get hung up in a fence or if a coyotes eat them, that's the sound they make.

So I heard that sound coming from behind him and then from below. below him. And he heard it. You could tell he cocked his head. And then he kept going the way he was going when we stopped it. And the way that thing moved, it was like it was kind of floating. And it didn't make, I swear to God, it didn't make a sound. It just kind of took off floating down the hill. So we went to chasing this thing. And now it's, it's probably getting close to 233 o'clock in the morning. And we chase this thing all the way down the hill. And then we just, we can't hear it or see it anymore. And we basically lost track. And about that time, I see another one of those lights down on the bottom where we're

headed floating on the ground. And we stop and we both see it and we watch it float up in the air. And then we just stand there and watch it. It floats all the way into the heavens. I mean, it's completely gone. So at this point, we have no idea what we're dealing with. But our buddy that had just left us in the pickup. I watched him. He waited up there for us for a while, and then he left. I watched the pickup buzz off.

You can hear it. And he takes off down the viewpoint road, and I watch him disappear. And I'm like, oh, great. Now we're trapped up here in the middle of the night with all this stuff going on around us. I'm horrified. I've never been that horrified in my life.

And so we're stuck there. And time gets a little foggy now, but the next thing I remember is it's starting to get daylight. And we've watched, I don't know how many of these orbs just descend into the sky and float off. And we hadn't seen the big guy again. And we both come to the conclusion. I felt like we had, what it felt like to me is these orbs were all trying to get up in the sky before daylight. And we had jumped right in the middle of something we weren't supposed to be seeing.

And we had stunted some of these from doing. their thing and we had seen something we shouldn't have seen. So it felt like we had trapped a couple of these. Whatever was going on, we stalled them out and they didn't want to jump up right in front of us, so daylight came. And now we're down there and it's, it's, the sun's come up and it's getting to be daylight and stuff. There's no more orbs. There's nothing else going on. We're on the bottom of this valley, and we're wondering what the hell has just gone on that night. And all of a sudden, my buddy Trevor elbows me in the ribs and he goes, hey, look over there. And I look where he's, I look where he's looking and he goes, look at that tree. There's a juniper tree that's forked like a V. He said,

do you see anything on that tree? And I was like, yeah, it looks like something's peeking out of the side of it. And as soon as I said that, that its head went back behind the tree. And we both looked at each other and the hair stood up on the back of our necks. And we knew, we already knew before that, but at that point, we really knew we were involved in something absolutely out of this world and we didn't know what was going on. So we watched that happen. And then for the next couple hours, we spent walking around down there just trying to figure out what was going on.

And we kept seeing these things peeking around stuff and sneaking around stuff and just getting out of view. And we'd even walk towards some of them and you'd see them kind of slunk down to the ground. And then they just wouldn't be there when you got there. And this is, now we're in the early morning hours. It's the sun's all the way up, but it's still early, and it's dead silent out there, and there's really no cover where we're at. It's wide open sagebrush country. There's cover if you're sleek enough.

You know, there's five, six foot tall sagebrush and shit. You can hunker down and get out of the way of stuff, but there's no big trees or nothing. There's nowhere to escape, especially for this giant thing we've seen a couple hours early. I don't know where it went. But now we're in full on out of our minds, don't know what's going on mode. and we were both horrified, so we were glued to each other. I mean, we weren't, we never got two feet away from each other that entire few hours we were together. And at one point, we started questioning our own sanity and we're like, look, we got to figure out what's going on here.

So the next time I see something, I'm not going to tell you where it is at all. And let me see if you'll find it. And he agreed to the same thing. And a few minutes after that, I seen one peeking out behind a tree. And I said, okay, I see something. And he's like, okay. and he starts looking around and he says, oh, right there. And he described exactly what I was looking at.

And that was just more verification for like, oh, my God, what is going on here? So now we're full on still horrified out of our minds, looking around, wondering what's going on. And we're walking along. And all of a sudden, I turn around to tell him I see another one and he's gone. He's nowhere to be found. And so I'm going, Trevor, Trevor, I don't want to be loud because I'm horrified. You know, I don't want these things, you know, I'm just, I'm scared. I'm trying to be quiet.

Well, I whisper, yell, flash at him a few times, and he's nowhere. How did he get away from me? So I actually dropped all inhibitions and I started screaming at the top of my lungs. Trevor, you know, I'm worried now. Like, where are you? And come to find out later on after the story, he did the same thing. His story's the same. All of a sudden I was gone.

And he was yelling at the top of his lungs. Well, I'm here to tell you where we were, he could have been a quarter of a mile from me, and we would have heard each other. It's just a flat, quiet morning. And you can hear somebody yell from a long ways away. How we got separated instantly, never to see each other again that day, I will never, ever know. And his story is just about as trippy as mine in the end. But long story short, he ended up on the other side of that Butte somehow, and he walked all

the way into Madras, and I ended up on the Culver side of the But I walked all the way to a farmer's house to get on the phone. But on my way out, it got really intense to where I could see several of these creatures. They were, it felt like they were escorting me out of there, ushering me out of there. Like, every time I turn around there was one of them closer and closer. So I was just headed out. And I remember, I even had my hands up in the air saying, And hey, I'm leaving. I'm not here to hurt. You know, I was horrified trying to get the hell out of there.

And I walked about 100 yards, and these things kept popping up everywhere. And this is going to sound kind of funny. I don't know if I've ever heard anybody say this before, but I got a couple of pretty good looks at a couple of these things peaking around trees. And to me, they didn't look like a big foot at all. I think maybe that first critter we've seen, the great big one, might have fit the description of your average sound. watch, but I didn't see it well enough, but it was huge. I know that. But these creatures,

to me, these things, they were tall, but they were really slender. And they looked to me, I don't even know if this makes any sense, but kind of like, they look like a mixture of an, you know, like an elf from like Lord of the Rings or something, you know, a big, tall, stoic creature with a really good jaw and long, pointy ears. almost a good, just a good looking creature mixed with like a cat or something. And I don't know if anybody's, I've heard a dog man and all that other thing, but to me, these things looked like they had kind of a cat face. And I don't mean like a cat mouth and nose.

It was more of a humanoid type mouth and nose, but a cat, cat eyes and ears. And they were probably seven feet tall, would be my guess, and very slender. and impeccably sneaky and athletic. And I don't know what they were, but they escorted me all the way off of this BLM to where I got to the main road. And I went across the street, and I knocked on the first door I came to,

and it was this really sweet old lady, and she opened the door. And I said, hey, I need to use your phone. I've lost my friend up here, and I'm worried about his safety. And she's like, oh, no problem, young man. Come on in here. So I got on the phone and I called 911.

And at this time, my mom was the head dispatcher at 911. And I knew that. And I called 911 and I said, I unloaded this story on my mom. And of course, the first thing she said is, oh, my God, what are you on? And I was like, no, listen, Trevor, I've lost Trevor. He's up there on that mountain somewhere. We encountered a bunch of aliens or I don't know what. And he disappeared.

I'm scared to death that they killed him or what. and so she does her thing and she says well i'm going to send some people out there right away i give her the address i tell her the whole story and when i hang up the phone i looked around for that old gal and she's way down in her hallway standing by her bedroom looking at me with gigantic eyes and at that point i realized what she had just heard me say all this crazy out of this world stuff and she just wanted me to leave. And I tried to apologize to her and tell her I didn't mean to scare her. And she just said, please just go.

And so I went outside and I just standing, I stood in her yard. And about 20 minutes later, two cop cars showed up. My mom was well connected. She was worried about me. And I knew all these cops and investigators that showed up. There was a couple detectives. One was a drug detective that was a good friend of the family. then there was two or three police officers.

They all showed up and started talking to me and they wanted to know what was going on. And I told them what was going on. And as I told my story to them, they all kind of started circling around me and I could tell something was going on. And I was like, hey, what are you doing? And they're like, you need to come with us, bud, something's wrong.

And I was like, I'm not going with you guys. I haven't broke the law. You know, kiss my ass. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just telling you what I've seen. And they started to try to grab, me and stuff and I fought them a little bit. And they pepper sprayed me and cuffed me, put me in a cop car and hauled me to the hospital where my parents already were. And I get there

and I'm freaking out now because my face is burning. I'm handcuffed. I'm losing my mind. They get me to the hospital. They cuff me to the hospital bed. My face still burning. I'm flipping out. They shoot something into me. And it calm me down. rapidly. Like I couldn't even keep my eyes open. And finally, I kept staying away, kept standing away, kept telling them the same story. They come in and gave me another dose of something, and I went to sleep. I woke up, I don't know how long, two or three hours later. And right when I woke up, the phone at my bed rang. And I didn't really, I didn't realize where I was for a second kind of a deal. And this phone's ringing, so I pick it up and answer it. It's my buddy Trevor. And I said, where are

are you? And he said, well, I don't got time for that right now. We'll talk later. But here's my dad. Talk to him right now. His dad was a registered nurse for years. He gets on the phone and he says, hey, Trevor's told me what happened. Here's what you need to do. And he told me, tell those doctors and everything that you were on drugs, you were hallucinating. Everything you've seen was, you don't, it's all fake. Now that you've woken up, you've seen the light and you know you were just high or whatever, and you don't believe it. He says, if you don't, they'll keep you. Because what you're going to tell him is going to make them want to put you in a straight jacket type deal. So I was like, okay, I took his advice and it worked. And they even verified that. They were like, okay, well,

that's the right thing to say type deal. We were thinking about doing some more tests on you and keeping you for a couple days. But since you're, you know, you've kind of admitted that you were just high or whatever, we're going to let you go. And they let me go home. So there's when I got, there's more, there's more to this story that gets even weirder once I got home for a couple of days. but I don't know, maybe we can cover that on a later day. I think there's so much to cover that I've already told you about. You might have some questions about. Oh, I have questions, but I really want to hear the rest of this.

Well, it gets kind of embarrassing. It's, I got to go home and I went home with my parents and they wanted me to stay with them that night. So I went to, I went and stayed with my mom. And that night, I went to bed. And I, you know, I can't get all this stuff out of my head, obviously, because it's just mind-blowing stuff. But I went to bed and I went to sleep, but I woke up just out of the blue. You know, I don't know what time it was or anything, but I woke up and I'm laying there in my bedroom. And I can, across the kitchen, through the dining room, there's a window that points right at Highway 97 with all the traffic driving by and then past that.

There's a couple of alfalfa fields and just wide open country. And I'm laying there in my bed thinking about what had happened. And all of a sudden I see this light. I'm like, here we go again. That looks just like the first light we've seen. And it's too low in the sky. It's too bright. Same kind of deal.

It's not a star. It's not a planet. And all of a sudden, I realize, okay, this light's coming towards the house again. So here it comes, floating across. Now I know it's across the alfalfa field right out the window. It's floating straight towards the house. Pretty soon I make the realization that this thing is in my backyard now. It's right outside the window.

well, here it comes. It floats right through the window. And now it's in the kitchen, floating right above the stove. And it floats right into my room. And then it drops down below the foot of my bed where I can't see it, but I can still see the glow of it. And when it hit the foot of my bed, I felt this wave of just warm, paralyzing, this feeling that just, it felt like all of a sudden I had done. been strapped to the bed and I felt myself falling to sleep almost like when you get shot up to go

into surgery and something made me strong enough that I rolled out of that bed hit the floor jumped up the spell kind of had been broken I ran out of the room down the hallway and I got in bed with my mom now I'm a 17 year old big tough kid that's never been scared of anything and now I've been reduced to damn near in the fetal position in bed with my mom. And I woke her up and told her what had happened. And she still did not believe anything I had said. She thought I was high. She was mad at me for causing all this shit.

But she let me stay in bed with her. So I'm laying in bed with her just horrified. And I'm laying there. I'm not knowing what's going to happen next. And this is the part that I have never told anybody. because if somebody told me this, I would immediately stop listening to him. But it happened.

And it's the part that is stamped in my brain more than any part of this whole journey was this moment. I'm laying there and all of a sudden, from her bed you can see out into the living room, all the sudden, like a hologram, this vision appears in the middle of the room just floating there. And it's a bull skull.

like just the bones and horns of like a bull and it's floating right in the middle of the room and I start poking my mom trying to wake her up because I want her to see this so that she would have a little bit of proof on all this stuff that I'm going through and I jabber a couple times and she wouldn't wake up I look back that thing's still floating there I jab her again and I shit you not Wes with her eyes eyes closed, she says, like a bull. She sounded just like a bull. And I completely lost, at that point, I was more horrified than I've ever been in my life. So I frantically wake her up then. And this bull disappears and she wakes up. And of course is just, she wants to put me in a nut house after I told her what happened.

but that's what happened. And I felt the same energy for a couple of days after that. And even years and years after that, I couldn't sleep in the dark. I couldn't, I didn't want to be alone any time at night. I just, I thought these things were going to come up through the drains. We're going to come under the doors. Whatever it was seemed to me to have no medium that they couldn't travel through to come and mess with me.

And I always attributed it to, we've seen, something that night that we weren't supposed to and we got stuck in an area. I felt like if I seen the mob hit somebody, you know what I mean? And I've seen it. And now they wanted to get rid of me because I'd seen too much type, you know, that's how I felt. And I felt that way for a long time. And then, you know, years later, it just kind of faded away.

And I've never had any other kind of experiences. I've never seen anything else. I've seen the orbs again. they're pretty frequent around here. A lot of us have seen them. You know, I don't know what those are or whatever, but basically that's the night we had. And my buddy Trevor, when we got to talk later, he told me the same thing. He said, we got separated.

He said, I yelled and screamed as loud as I could. There's no way we got far enough away from each other in 10 seconds that we couldn't hear each other screaming at the top of our lungs. And his story is the exact same. He got escorted off the mountain east. north and I got escorted off the mountain south. And once we talked later, our stories were eerily similar. And then to add to that, my buddy Thad that I thought left us, he said he never left us. He said he drove around that Butte 50 times that night yelling and screaming and looking for us.

And I believe him because Thad was a tough guy. He wasn't a coward. He wouldn't have just bailed on us. But I was sure I watched him drive away, you know. But he says he never did. And he said he kept seeing weird orbs just all night, all three of us trip. But for the life of me, I'll never be able to understand how me and Trevor got separated. Never.

It doesn't make any sense, you know. Yeah, it's very strange. You know, maybe a dozen times, half a dozen times. I've heard of this hologram thing. And it's always with alien encounters or what we perceive to be alien encounters. And I remember the first time I heard it. I was like, what in the world? And it's kind of like how you describe it.

Every eyewitness I've talked to. And again, it's not really an alien show, but I've talked to many eyewitnesses that have experienced the alien phenomenon. And what's weird is when there's very close interactions, I've heard this hologram thing before. Tell me about when he saw the, the orbs again, the balls of light. Oh, I've seen them. You can damn near to add to it.

I was at Culver Market one day at the store. This is, I don't know, probably 10 years after this happened, there was a sign on the door that said, if you've seen any red lights or orbs around Round Butte call this number. And I was like, oh, all right. So I called this number. And it sounded like an elderly man. And he was skeptical.

You know, he didn't want no crackpots or nothing. So he said, I said, hey, I've seen some stuff up there. And he's like, well, tell me exactly what you've seen. So I explained to him, not the critters, but just the, lights and he said okay come on up and he gave me his address so i went up to his house and it was a wealthy roundbutes full of houses of old retired people you know it's everybody's got money there's a bunch of retired dentists and doctors and stuff like that and these people had money i could tell and i went up there and i sat down with him and his wife and we talked for a couple hours about these things and he says

he's seen them several times he's tried to take pictures of them but they never show up he's put out game trail cams. He's never got a picture. And then I asked him once I felt comfortable with him if they'd ever seen anything in the daylight. And he said he hadn't, but then his wife piped up and said that she has seen something peeking at her around trees early in the morning a couple of times. So I don't know if it's the same thing I seen or not, but these people had seen the lights for sure. And when I told them everything, I said, we all sat there with our hair standing up going, wow, I mean, what are we dealing with here? You know? Yeah, you know, one time I was talking to a Bigfoot researcher, and I know him well, and I know his whole family well.

And they were out in the woods one time, and they saw this ball of light. We were sitting around the campfire, and I was asking him, you know, all these weird lights keep showing up in these reports. And have you guys ever seen them before? And so he starts telling me about this time in Texas that they saw this ball of light. Well, they all decided to start following it. and there's about four of them, including his son, who's, you know, early 20s. And they're all within a few feet of each other, staying relatively close. And they're just basically falling this ball of light.

The more they got closer to it, the further it got away from them. So it was keeping this weird equal distance to where they would never walk up on it. And I can't remember if the light flashed out or what exactly happened with the light, but they all started freaking out because, you know, they had followed this thing for a long time. And when they all turn around, his son's gone. And so they start yelling for him, yelling for him. And there's no response. And they end up walking out of the forest.

They're like, well, maybe he went back to camp. So they go back to camp and he's not there. About a minute later, he comes running out of the forest. and he tells this account of when the light went out, there was no one there. His dad wasn't there, and he freaked him out, so he took off running. It was just a weird account with these lights.

What do you think happened that night? Well, to me, it's always been a UFO-type deal. It's been an extraterrestrial type thing. Like, I can remember those cat-type critters, those tall guys that were kind of us out. I got a pretty good look at them a couple. I'll never forget the eyes. That's what I remember.

They were yellow. I seen a panther at the zoo one time, a black panther that had yellow eyes. And when that thing looked at me, it was just, you know, just bored in deep. And that's how these things eyes looked. And they had a, they had a face, I say cat, but almost like a lemur or a raccoon even kind of. It was just a weird. there was some different colorations on their face, but it was kind of a humanoid-looking face,

but those big yellow eyes and pointy teeth, and then ears, either like an L for a cat. I can't quite remember, but they were pointy. You can see them. And to me, those were the orbs. I don't know how or what they do, but it seems like whatever these things were, they could go into this orb form

and just float up into the sky. That's what it seemed like. I never even thought about Saswatch until years later when I started listening to some of these accounts that so many of them were like mine, I was like, wow. So it was, it could have been a big foot. The big guy we've seen early on in the deal, that was definitely fit the bill of a lot of these things you hear.

But the orbs, I've heard about a thousand times. And I've always told buddies of mine, I was like, you know, if I was sitting fishing in a pond and all of a sudden on the far bank, a pink alligator crawled out of the water, did a backflip, and then lit up a cigarette, took a couple puffs, and then ran up the hill, I would just think I was absolutely nuts, and I would never tell anybody about it. But if I turned on a podcast one day, and some old boy was telling a story about it when he was fishing one time, and he watched a pink alligator crawl out of the fucking water and do a backflip and smoke a cigarette, wouldn't you instantly know that what you've seen was real, you know, no matter how outlandish it is, once you hear

somebody else described it tit for tat. It's verification on another level. And I've heard a there are a hundred thousand firsthand accounts, if you know where to listen to of good, honest people of every walk of life, military cops, wrestling coaches, ranchers, farmer, good people, teachers, you name it. They've all seen it. And a lot of them described it exactly the way my trip went that night. I've never heard of anything that looked like a cat, but I've heard a lot of stuff about these orbs being involved with some kind of critter. You know, there's some sort of a symbiotic. I don't know if they're working together or if it's the same thing, but those orbs are definitely some supernatural thing that we don't understand.

Yeah, like I said, I was thrown off by it too. I've heard it a few times. I mean, the deputy I was talking about in the intro, he called me that morning. He sent me an email asked me to call him that morning it was urgent and he was really, really shook up by what he saw. And it seems like everyone kind of describes it kind of like how you did. I mean, he described everything from the ears to the eyes. The yellow eyes really stood out to him. And even that wildlife biologist I talked about in Oregon up at Mount Hood, he was really focused on those yellow eyes. But he kind of described the same thing like a feline. And I remember thinking like, what do we got here? a cat man and we have the dog man. What in the world is this that people are seeing? So I don't know.

I mean, are you thinking it's more of an alien encounter? Oh, 1,000 percent. Yeah. I think it's absolutely foolish to think that we're dealing with some sort of a monkey or a primate. I mean, and there's one, there's many reasons I feel that way, but the main one is frail cams. I mean, think about that. Trail cams nowadays, people can be really stealth with them. People are carrying them, putting them inside tree. You can't detect them. Human beings cannot detect trail cameras. You'll get caught on them every time. There's no way to see them. But somehow these creatures avoid that. That tells me that they're dealing with a set of equipment that we have absolutely no understanding of. There's areas up in BC where there are far more Sasquatch

sightings than wolf or cougar sightings. But guess what's on every trail cam? cougars and wolves guess what's not on every trail cam these creatures so if we were dealing with a primate or an animal there's no way they could avoid being detected on all these people I know one hunter up in BC

that has a hundred trail cams out and he catches everything on him but never one of these things but he's seen them and everybody up there sees them all the time but they're never on trail cams that's all the proof I need that we're dealing with something that's beyond what we understand. Because let's be honest, if there was some ancient guerrillas running around the woods,

they'd be on trail camps. How would they know to avoid them? You know that big light that was over the top of the whole group and it kind of shun that spotlight, was it a light that you guys were seeing? Did it just look like a big ball of light or was it a ship? It was just a light. And when it went out, it was like it was never there. there was no shape, nothing.

It just, it floated all the way. It looked like it floated from Primeville, you know, 30 miles away when we first seen it. And it pretty much got to where we were in no time. And then it was, I don't know, maybe 50, 60 yards above us in the air. Just looked like an orange basketball. And then bam, it hit us with the brightest light I've ever seen. It lit up the entire Roundview top. And enough for us that we all looked away from it.

And then when we looked back up, it just, it was gone. No sound, nothing, just gone. And this area where you're at, Corey, for the audience that hasn't been there, it's kind of a high desert. There's not a lot of places to hide. And there's a place called Canita. And the Native Americans have it. And it's this big pool.

And it's actually a lot of fun. I have a lot of great memories from it. But what's cool about the water they put in this pool is it's pulled up from this mineral spring. and so when you get out of the water you almost felt like you've taken a mineral bath like you felt like a million bucks when he came out of it but again down in this area there's nowhere to hide

and Sasquatch sightings and encounters are notorious in this area and I often wonder like where are they coming from when you guys were all kind of standing around and you thought that there were people down below the ridge you were on and you thought they had lanterns obviously there were these balls of light.

What color were they? They were all like orange. What it looked like when we seen the three or four of them down there, and I was the one I knew that I said, hey, I told everybody, hey, there's no roads down there.

If there's people out there, they're walking. And it's two o'clock in the morning. I don't know what the hell they'd be doing down there. But then when you could see they were elevated 30, 40 feet in the air, that just took it to a new dimension. As the sun was coming up, these things were getting out of Dodge.

In every direction, there was two or three of these lights just floating up to the sky. We watched, I don't know how many of those orbs I watched float out of sight, straight up into the air that morning. I mean, there was some event going on that night. I don't know what it was, but there was a massive event going on where these things were out in force. I don't know what was going on. You know, the lakes there, there's a huge electrical facility, like a power plant right there. I don't know if anything has to do with anything, but these orbs were everywhere.

And then once we really started getting into it, we got closer to some of these orbs. I mean, some of them were 100 yards in front of us through the sagebrush on the ground. And then as we got closer to them, they just float up into the sky and disappear. I have no idea what they were. And the feline thing, you know that movie Guardians of the Galaxy? The way they were built and the way their body looked reminded me of group. big tall, slender, gray thing with really long legs and arms.

But the head, and I heard another girl explain this one time, the one that she had seen, she said it was the most handsome man she'd ever seen, like this being. It had a square jaw and was like, it was like a beautiful creature. And that's the vibe I got. These things,

that's where I come in with the else thing. They were just structurally, facially, structurally, like, very sophisticated and almost like handsome with a little bit of a feline to them. But, you know, they didn't have, it wasn't like the island of Dr. Moreau, you know, where you mix a cat with a person, you got that feline nose and mouth. It was, I don't know what was feline about. I think it might have been the ears, but else ears are kind of, you know, poignant or whatever. But that's what it kind of looked like to me. But they weren't muscular at all.

They were very slender. It looked like an NBA basketball player like Kevin Garnett is what it looked like, you know, six foot, 11, seven foot, pretty skinny and very stealthy. And just those yellow eyes were just the creepiest, most intense, high level of intelligence and whatever magical powers go on. And I have no idea. But that's what they look like to me. I've always had the, I just always remember it. I have a very feline looking thing. And I don't know if they were in correspondent.

You know, the big fast-wash-looking creature we encountered first, it's weird to me that we've seen all these things together in that night. That's why I almost think that people that see aliens, Bigfoot, ghosts, anything like that that's unexplainable, I almost think is the same thing. You know, just this, I don't think there's one type of Sasquash. I think people see a certain one. I think there's several things that we don't know about. Definitely there are people on this planet that know exactly what all of that stuff is. I have no doubt about that. We're never going to learn the truth like through the government or through a news station.

People, I've even heard you talk about it. You want somebody to shoot one. And I understand that too. But at the same time, I don't really care if everybody knows the truth because the fact of the matter is, 80% of the people I encounter are stupid. And there's a lot of really dumb, naive people on this planet nowadays. And I don't think they really need to know everything that's going on. I don't know what good it would do.

But if you want to know the truth, the only way to find it is the way we're doing it. Real firsthand accounts from honest human beings on this planet. I think that's where you get the truth. I think it's the only place. You know, throughout history, with every myth and legend, at its core, there's a lot of truth. These creatures that saw you that were kind of pacing you out, would you say they look human? It was it was human in the way that I think everybody makes that comparison and we might be wrong about it just because if something has two arms, two legs, and a head, we think human because

that's that's all we know. But what if there's a million other planets or dimensions or whatever if you get as wild as you want where a lot of stuff has two arms and two legs is bipedal and all that kind of stuff? And of course it's going to look similar to us because of that. But I didn't get when I seen these things, I didn't get the, I didn't think there was something crossed with a human at all. I thought it was just kind of humanoid looking because it had two arms, two legs, and I did not have a human feeling, and I sure as hell didn't have an animal feeling. I had a extraterrestrial, not from here, doesn't live here feeling. And that's kind of how I feel about a lot of these creatures. Some of them may live here. I don't know, but I think these

things are passing through or visiting or something of that nature because I know for a fact, like you said, there's no cover here. And that gigantic one we've seen in the middle of the night, I don't care how stealth he was. He wouldn't have a chance during the daytime of not being seen if he lived here, unless, which they very well could have these really special powers where they can be invisible or skip dimensions or go to another frequency or whatever. There's definitely something supernatural about these things. That's the only way they could go undetected by human beings with the technology we have nowadays is they have a tool in their kit or several that makes them be able to stay away from that kind of stuff. It's the only, it's the only answer

because there's a hundred thousand sightings a year and nobody catches these things on a trail cam, you know, that's crazy to me. They have to be special or we would see them all the time or there'd be proof of it everywhere and even if there is proof like people say somebody could shoot one but how are you even going to get that out there to prove it you know things get covered up really fast when they're in that line you know i don't know what you would have to do to prove it you'd have to kill one and then sneak it into the halftime show of the super bowl out on the 50 yard line or something because before you could ever get it to mainstream media it could be easily covered up by you know, people in black suits or whatever, you know what I mean?

Yeah, it's hard to disagree with that for sure. You know, what do you make of your buddy kind of banishing on you? You turn around to tell him, hey, there's something over here, and he's gone. Have you guys sat down to talk about what actually happened? You know, we have a couple times briefly over the years, and I've been meaning to do that again. And you know what? I'm going to set that up. And hopefully me and you can get together again, and I can come at you with what he said.

But we've never sat down and really went through it all. And I've been really curious to hear his step-by-step account of that whole night to see how close it is to mine. But I told you, before we share a text every now and again, he'll just send me a random text that says, do you still believe? And I say, yep, and he says, me too. So we both still know that what we went through that night was real. But I don't know that anybody else believes us. I have a couple friends and my dad, my daughter, they all know that all I do is tell the truth.

And they believe me. And they believe in all this stuff. But I don't tell. There's people that I have a lot of respect for that I wouldn't dare tell this story to. Because they would, they would just think I was a nutbag, you know. I'd like to hear what they all have to say. But I have talked to one of the other guys that the first five that were up there was my brother, Ryan and a couple of gals.

And I have talked to them. and they remember 1,000% the light, shining on us and everything, and then they all took off. Everybody remembers that. But the rest of the trip was just me and Trevor. We stayed on that mountain all night. Yeah, it would be really cool to get you and Thad and Trevor on all on one show.

I love to get all you guys on and kind of recount the whole, I know everyone's kind of heard it now, but just from everyone else's perspective, you know, the thing that walked across the road when you guys were all, in the car, it sounds very different than what was pacing you out. Oh, absolutely. Not even close to the same.

This thing was gigantic. When we caught up to it, it stopped right in the middle of the road. And like I said, we were 30 or 40 feet from this thing. You could hear it breathing. It was just standing there. It was huge. It was like 10 feet tall and six feet wide. It probably weighed 1,000 pounds.

I don't know what it was. But it stood there and Trevor kept walking closer and closer and it. never moved, never moved. And then finally, when we heard those jackrabbit calls, it kind of tensed up a little bit, and then it booked off back down the hill. And as big as it was, it never cracked a shrub. It never made a noise.

It was like it was floating down the hill. And Trevor jumped right on its ass and was running down the hill after it. So as a good buddy, scared as I was, I've followed him. And we got down to the bottom of ways, and then it just disappeared. And he's like, it just disappeared. It's gone. And then shortly after that, the sun, started coming up, and that's when these other critters started peeking around trees and kind of

us out of the place. How many of the other creatures do you think there were? I think there were several. There could have been two or three, but it seems like 10 or 12. I have no idea. It just seemed like everywhere I looked, the last part of that, when we had been split up and everything, I had to walk across the flat sagebrush flat, I mean super flat, and there were all little sagebrushes.

we were out of any cover at all. And I had to walk about 500 yards across this to get to the road. And I had my hands up in the air out loud saying, I'm leaving, like, please don't kill me. I'm not going to say any. I was horrified. And I could see those things. Every time I looked to my left and my right, they were paralleling me. And every time I'd look at one of them, they'd hunker down to the ground.

And then I'd take off again and I could see them again and they'd hunker down to the ground. I just felt like I was being ushered away from something that I wasn't supposed to see. That's the only way I can describe it. And these creatures that were pacing you out, were they covered in hair? Yeah. Yeah, they were hairy, gray, hairy, but short hair, like a cougar. You know, there was no long hair. It was just, it was short, short hair, almost, you know, like a pit bull, you know, just a short hair, but gray.

And then on their face, their head and face was gray, but it was. It seemed like they almost had like a black or white under their eyes, almost like a raccoon or a lemur. They had a little bit of something going on on their face. And then those yellow, big yellow eyes just stuck it. And then I seen the mouth on one of them. And it was not like big canines or nothing, but all little sharp pointy teeth like a cat, you know. They were seven feet tall. They were very, like I said, they looked like NBA basketball players, tall and skinny, for sure.

Yeah, it's strange. You know, your description, I've heard probably a dozen times, maybe a little bit less. It's not super common, but I've heard it before. And it's like I was saying in the intro. And it kind of throws you off. I mean, everything about these creatures seems like Sasquatch. The way they behave, even hiding behind trees and peeking up at you. And I've heard that before, too, with these, whatever these things are that you ran into.

you know, if one guy says something to you and it sounds crazy, you can go, well, I'm sure there's medication for what he has. But then when you hear it several times over and over again from people who don't know each other, basically describing the same thing, it makes you wonder. The next day when you were at your mom's house, how do you think that they knew you were there? We were just connected. It's hard to explain.

but I could just feel them, you know. They followed me home. They messed with me for a couple of nights. They showed me some things to scare me. I can't explain it. I think about it all the time. You know, this is 30 years ago, and I can promise you that I think about this stuff every single day.

When I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep, I start having flashbacks and thinking about that night, and a new thing will pop up and all the hair on me. You know, there's just, I don't know. how they know or what, but it just comes back into this. It's a phenomenon that we don't understand. You know, as human beings, we think we have everything figured out, but I don't think we know how to use our brains at all.

And I think that there's so many ways to communicate, and there's so many more advanced ways to communicate that we just haven't figured out yet. I think some people do, like, have you ever heard of some of these people, like somebody will get in a car accident and they'll get bonked the head and all of a sudden two weeks later they can play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony on a piano and they've never had any lessons. And what happens is if you get hit in the brain, sometimes it unlocks a part of the brain that

we don't know how to use that all of a sudden you know how to use. And that happens all the time. There's been a bunch of these savants. I seen a kid the other day that was, he got hit in the head so hard. He couldn't even talk. He was 100%. For lack of a better word, he was retarded. from it. But all of a sudden, he could play piano at a level that was unbelievable that he was

like eight years old. And there were people that had been playing classical, like Juilliard type people were like, who is this kid and how the hell did he learn how to play that? And he just got hit in the head and just all of a sudden knew how. You know, that's amazing to me. And it happens quite a bit. The same thing with arithmetic. There's been people that have been bonked in the head and all of a sudden they can solve a Rubik's cube in 10 seconds. So I just don't think we understand. We don't. Again, there's people in this world.

I don't know if they're part of the government or whatever. But I think they understand all this stuff. But they keep it all from us because I guess they don't think we need to know. But to answer your question, how did they find me? I've heard this a bunch, too, about being tagged. That's kind of what it is. They lock into you cerebrally somehow. And I don't know why they pay.

pester you afterwards. But those things were with me for a long time after that. And then finally, I don't know how long it took, but finally it just kind of lifted and I didn't, I wasn't scared anymore. I just let it go. But for years, I had to sleep with a light on. I didn't like to be alone at night. I certainly wasn't going up on top of Roundview by myself. And it just, it affected me really bad. And now it still affects me. It changed my life a thousand percent the way I I view everything. But it doesn't bother me anymore. Now I just, I feel lucky.

I feel like I got to see something incredible, but I don't have any desire to go see it again. But, you know, there's believers and there's noers. And, you know, I'm a knower. I know they're out there. I don't know what they are, but I feel like I know what they're not. And they're not a primate that we just haven't found yet.

Because that's just, that's impossible. They're beyond that. Way, way beyond that. And I know this was over 30 years ago, but in that time frame, have you ever gone back to the location? Yep, yep. I've been back up there a couple times. I wanted to kind of go face my fears. As a matter of fact, I got a buddy in Sun River named Zach, and he's made me tell my story to him 100 times.

He's way into all this stuff. And he called me 190. He says, hey, I'm headed down that way. He's like, let's go up to the Round Butte and build a fire and have a couple beers. And I hadn't been back up there since. This was a few years ago. And I was like, you know what, let's do it. And it got to be about midnight.

We're talking about it and we're drinking and stuff. And finally he's got to get going home. And something hit me right then. I was like, you know what? I'm going to stay. I'm going to sit here for a while by myself. And he left. And now here I am sitting right at the right where ground zero where this all happened,

30 years before. And it's 1 o'clock in the morning. It's pitch dark. And I sat there by that fire for probably an hour until I couldn't take it anymore. You know, all the hairs were. rising up and this and that and I jumped in my rig and I headed out of there and I was scared to death the whole drive down there something was going to run across the road in front of me but it didn't but yeah I've been back a couple times and once in a while during the day I like to go up there

just just for the heck of it but you're not going to catch me spending too much time there up there up there up there by myself I really admire the fact that you went back up there a lot of people won't do that and it takes a lot of balls to go back up there and you know I admire that and I really appreciate you taking the top of you. to come on and share the encounter. Sometimes people will say, hey, can you cut this part out? But let me tell you about this other weird part of what happened. But it's so crazy that I almost don't want to say it publicly.

So I really, you know, thank you for telling the whole story. Because I always tell people, you know, I don't need a fantastic story. Just tell me what happened. And I wish I had a great answer for you. I wish I could say, well, here's what happened, you know, and I don't know. And that whole cat thing, like I said, their behavior, the looks until you get to the face, but their general appearance is very much like Sasquatch. And it comes to these balls of light that people see.

And I think most investigators, whether they're comfortable with that or not, still need to investigate it because these balls of light come up a lot. Sometimes people see Sasquatch and they're seeing nothing more than a primate. Nothing more than an animal. But there's many accounts for that's not the case. And I just can't thank you enough for your time. I really enjoyed chatting with you, Corey. Yeah, man, I appreciate it.
