Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:1281 A bipedal figure walking through the woods

Episode Date: August 9, 2026

Nathaniel writes "I've been listening to your podcast for about five years now, and over that time I've had multiple encounters that I've never really known what to make of. Recently I listened to Epi...sode 769 with the wildlife biologist, and the way he described some of his experiences was almost exactly what I've seen. I'm also currently in school to become a wildlife biologist myself, so hearing that episode finally convinced me to reach out and share a couple of my experiences. I have several others, but there are two that stand out above the rest. If you're interested, I'd be happy to share the others another time. I've spent my entire life hunting and fishing, and I'm currently going into my junior year of college here in Kentucky. During deer season I'm usually in the woods four or five days a week after classes, hunting a large Wildlife Management Area (WMA) surrounding a nearby lake. I'm primarily a bowhunter, and at the time I never carried a firearm because, realistically, this is Kentucky we don't have many large predators that would make me feel like I needed one. My first encounter happened in late November of 2024, around the end of Kentucky's gun season. I got to the woods around 2:00 p.m., and it took me roughly an hour to hike into my spot. It was about a mile back through some extremely thick, nasty terrain, which is exactly why I hunt there it keeps me away from other hunters. After pushing through about 12 acres of dense cedar thicket, I reached the entrance to a deep holler. I climbed about 20 feet up into my climber stand and had only been sitting for around 10 minutes when I realized everything had gone completely silent. There were no birds, no squirrels, no movement nothing. The woods just seemed dead. A few moments later I heard two distinct wood knocks off to my front left. I thought it was strange, but I brushed it off. Then, two or three minutes later, I noticed what looked like a bipedal figure walking through the woods roughly 100 yards away. My first thought was that it was another hunter or maybe a hiker, since I was on public land. I looked away for just a second to scan the rest of the woods, and when I looked back, the figure was gone. In its place was what I can only describe as an enormous, jet-black wolf or something that looked like one. I've seen plenty of coyotes over the years, and through school and visits to zoos I've seen wolves as well. This wasn't either of those. It was significantly larger than any coyote I've ever seen, and something about its proportions just looked wrong. The shape of its head, the size of it, and the way it carried itself immediately stood out to me. It was only about 50 yards away, so I could see it clearly. The eyes were unusually large and locked directly onto me the entire time. It never looked away. It was crouched low, almost like a canine stalking prey, and it slowly moved from my left to my right, heading toward the cedar thicket. The entire time it stayed on all fours. Then it walked into the cedars…and simply disappeared. I don't mean it ran off or I lost sight of it because of distance. It was just gone. At that point I decided I was done for the day. I called my parents to let them know I was heading out, climbed down as quickly as I could, and started making my way back toward the truck. As I climbed about halfway up the ridge, I stopped for a moment to look around and get a better view of my surroundings. That's when I heard something I'll never forget. The best way I can describe it is a cross between a woman's scream and a howl, but much deeper than either. It was unlike anything I've ever heard before, and I've spent my entire life outdoors. The sound immediately put me into full panic mode. I took off running and didn't stop until I got back to my truck. A hike that had taken me about an hour going in took me roughly 30 minutes coming out. I didn't return to the woods for the rest of that deer season. I've had several other experiences since then, with one in particular being much more significant. It involved being followed while leaving the woods and seeing what many people describe as "orbs" in that same area. I know this is a lot to read, and I realize it sounds unbelievable. These aren't exactly Sasquatch encounters, but after hearing Episode 769 I felt like I should finally reach out. If you're interested, I'd be glad to tell you about the rest of what I've experienced."

Starting point is 00:00:00 It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind and it either heard me or smelt me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that shocked me. They don't make people that big. The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the bed. I've never seen anything moves like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forward.
Starting point is 00:00:54 I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears. A bit is about six foot nine, I don't know. This is Blair, coming to you from Alonaga, Georgia, the home of the first gold rush. And you're listening to the best podcast in the world, Sasquatch Chronicles. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. Got a great show planned for you. We're going to be chatting with Nathaniel. And Nathaniel comes to us from Kentucky. Back in 2024, he was out there hunting and he came across this creature. It's not a Sasquatch. and it's a fascinating account because before Nathaniel actually saw the creature,
Starting point is 00:02:32 the property next to where he was hunting, the owner of that property had actually seen the creature and it was heading towards Nathaniel. And I'll let him go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I want to welcome Nathaniel to the show. Nathaniel, thanks for coming on. Thank you for having you, Wes. Yeah, and I know that we're going to talk about this encounter that happened to you in 2024 out there in Kentucky, along with a few other weird things that have happened in the same area. If you would, would you take me back to 2024? Obviously, we're hunting.
Starting point is 00:03:27 kind of walked me into what happened? Well, I'm a college student in Kentucky, and I'm typically in the woods, about four to five days a week hunting, and I'm mainly a bow hunter because of the clans around here. You're not allowed to use modern firearms, so I'm the only bow hunt in a context, which you'll learn later. I never have carried a pistol on me ever until now, obviously.
Starting point is 00:03:50 So I'm just in there with my bow and kind of vulnerable. So this is the fall of 20, and this was about late November right at the end of modern gun season for Kentucky. And I've been chasing a big buck in an area that I knew of and I decided to try an area that the day before I spooked him and I missed a shot on him. So I tried to go to an area where I thought he might go to as a safety area. This is an area that I'd never been to before. And I knew it was going to be a hike because whenever I had public land myself, I
Starting point is 00:04:26 typically walking about an hour or so, sometimes a mile, sometimes two, sometimes half a mile. It's just really tough terrain because some people refer to them as haulers or ridges out here near Appalachia. And it's a really, there's a lot of really steep inclines. And I typically climb basically really steep ridges, to crawl on all fours a lot of times and just pull yourself up with trees, holding on to trees. And this specific area, I was doing that. And I had a walk.
Starting point is 00:05:01 It took me about an hour. So I got in this public land. I got a class earlier that day. And I decided to go to this public land that I always hunt near my college. And I walked, I got there about 2 o'clock. It took me about an hour or so to walk in. And by the time I got to the top of this ridge, I didn't necessarily like it because the wind was starting to change on me. So I decided to go down to this holler that was right next to it.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It was a really deep hollar. Never been to this area before in my life. So I was very interested to see this or go. And I get down to this very, just kind of a, it was the bottom, basically. It wasn't like a big creek bottom. It was kind of just a real typical holler bottom. I set up right on next to the creek where I found a good tree and put my climber stand on it. And I got about 20 feet in the air.
Starting point is 00:05:50 and after finally getting settled down, but I sat there about five, ten minutes, and usually I always see squirrels and raccoons sometimes towards lower light, but I was set up about 4.30 in the afternoon, so it was really, really visible out like you would see in the middle of the day. And it was no, not much foliage, so I could see really good through the timber lines and everywhere around me. And the way I was facing, if you imagine a V,
Starting point is 00:06:20 I was at the very opening of the V looking out towards the main river valley where I was hunting. And as I was sitting there, I sat there for about a few more minutes and I noticed that this whole area just seemed dead all of a sudden. Like there was no movement. There's no squirrels, no birds. I mean, I've never seen that personally before happen. And I thought it was kind of weird. My guard kind of went a little up. And I was like thinking this is a little weird.
Starting point is 00:06:48 but I didn't think anything other. I tried to ignore it. Just saying, no, it's just because of the wind or something. Just trying to rationalize it, obviously. And as I sat there,
Starting point is 00:07:00 I heard what I can only describe as two wood knocks. Like, just a piece of wood, like a pretty solid piece of wood hitting a tree. Like, bam, bam.
Starting point is 00:07:11 And I was thinking myself, oh, I just heard of woodnop because I've grown up, listening to your show, Wes, since 2019 and I've watched finding Bigfoot expedition, Bigfoot, and all that sort of thing. And I was like, oh, I just heard of wood. And like, ha ha, I'd like kind of joking myself. And about 30 seconds later, I look over to my left, which is if I'm facing at 12 o'clock,
Starting point is 00:07:35 about 10 o'clock, and I look over 10 o'clock and I see this figure, I didn't know what the time it was. I see a bipedal figure. And it was black. I could tell. It was, it was bipedal, humanoid shaped. And I thought instantly, I was like, oh, shoot, there's another hunter walking up on my, my daggammon. Like, I didn't, I was like, well, there goes this hunt.
Starting point is 00:08:01 I'll probably talk to him and I'll probably just head out and talk to him. So I sat there and by, like, this is all happening in a matter of 15 seconds. I thought that. And it was about probably 80 to 100 yards out where I saw this. And it was through timber. So I kind of people, obviously people know when I see somebody or something, the timbre you kind of see like just flashes of it kind of and it had like like I was like a like a walker's stance it was but I noticed one thing towards the top of it though it had kind of a
Starting point is 00:08:30 hunchback not a hunchback but like it seemed like towards the neck area it was like more round like taka round topish if that makes sense like it was weird it kind of stood out to me at first I was like that's a weird looking backpack and I didn't think anything of it for a second and then obviously thought it was just another hunter because I've been walked up on many times hunting public lands so I didn't think anything of it and so I look around to stay in my area because I thought a because I noticed something I didn't not hear this thing once and I watched that now so I kind of looked around trying to see there's still anything else like a deer or something to see if he's going to spoke anything and I look back directly at 12 o'clock and about 50 maybe 40 50 yards away. I saw what I can only describe as I thought at first was a giant wolf. And I was like, what in the world is that? Like, I'm in Kentucky.
Starting point is 00:09:30 I'm not supposed to be seeing a wolf. And this thing was big. And to clarify, this thing when I saw it now was on all fours. And a crowd's position as, like, as you see most wolves. And it was at first I saw it. And it was just jet black. Like black is midnight. It was the strangest thing.
Starting point is 00:09:53 I've seen black wolves before in zoos. And I've watched National Geographic. And this thing was like darker than them. It was just black. Like black is like car tires. It was, it was creepy. And I started just kind of just scan this thing over. And this all happened within a few seconds.
Starting point is 00:10:09 I just started scan it. I was like just looking at it. And at this point, it was on fours, all fours. But when I first saw it, like I looked over, it looked like it hopped down to all fours.
Starting point is 00:10:21 If that makes sense. Like you catch it like right when, like if you're sitting near somebody, like you catch them like right when they sit down, it would look like if that motion. Like it just finally got on all fours. And it was all four, it was on all fours when I had this whole rest of this encounter
Starting point is 00:10:38 when I was able to physically see it. And it was in a crouched position, position like a coyote or a wolf doing a stalk like it was real low to the ground and it was going right to a seeder tree it was in the direction of us it was walking or stalking in this instance i think now it was going towards a cedar tree thicket where i knew a deer bedding area was and it was facing its right side was facing me going towards that going from my left to my right and i was it was looking at i was seeing its right side and it was not. It was not. across the Chesden, as I said, and it was walking with stalking, I know now, and was looking
Starting point is 00:11:21 directly at me the whole time I saw this. And eventually I saw the eyes and the upper body of it. And what really stood out to me as somebody on the show, he'll say names is for his sake. Well, not the names, but episodes. But a biologist said on your show once that the ears stood it the most and that also stood to me the most instantly because I've never heard that encounter that he talked about until probably two weeks before I contacted you west I did not hear about that and I noticed the ears were like super sharp like there was no band just like insanely sharp like a bobcat and it was that's what weirded me out the most really quick because I didn't see how I knew this this wolf thing I was looking at was really long but I didn't
Starting point is 00:12:11 know how tall it was, like on its shoulder height. And I noticed that year, that's what really freaked me out. I was like, that is not a coyote. That's not a melanistic coyote. That's not a wolf. What is this? And it just kind of was stalking and it was kind of coming my way like at a diagonal. Like it was never took its eyes off me. It was, its eyes were real wide, but they were like black. I could just barely, it was close enough where I could see the eyes like the, the, the whiteness behind the pupils, I guess people you can say. And I just saw it like when it turned, it looked around at something. Like it looked behind it.
Starting point is 00:12:51 It looked like something was following it or was supposed to be following it. And I saw that and it probably was getting a crash position and stopped between, for about 10 yards. And this whole encounter probably lasted about two minutes. It was just sluper slowly walking. into the seeder's trip ticket. And this whole time, I had a bow in my hand. There was a 50
Starting point is 00:13:17 yards. I was just in shock and I could not believe what I was seeing. And I sat there watching it. I didn't think to put my phone out or anything. I was just like frozen. I felt like if I was going to move this thing, I didn't know what it's going to do. And
Starting point is 00:13:33 I sat there and watched it and it eventually made his way after slowly just moving like just inching like a you see a coyote or wolf do when they're in stock. And when I got to this edge of the cedar tree thick, and the cedar tree thing, it's really thick because I walked through part of it and you can maybe see five feet in front here
Starting point is 00:13:55 in this thing because it's a lot of undergrowth, a lot of, used to be an old feel, I think, from that used to farm it. And it was just really thick undergrowth and you couldn't see, it's like a wall. And right when this thing got to the edge of the cedar tree thicket, it was almost like, you know how when you're sitting for a long time and it's like roll your shoulders back? This thing kind of stood, like not stood, but it like raised up. While I was still on all fours, it was still on all fours this whole time,
Starting point is 00:14:24 but I saw it. And it like raised its shoulders back and it kind of straightened up to where this thing I thought was like just really like not that big. This thing was over three foot easily at the, at its top of its shoulder. And it was on all fours. And I was like, oh my, that is, that's big. That's not good.
Starting point is 00:14:44 I don't like this. And right when it got to the edge of the city, for you second, like right when it was getting into it, I saw it kind of like, I saw it's back get straight like it stood up. And I was, and that's when I finally lost side of it. And after that, I was like, nope, I'm done. I am out of here. I don't like this. I was just done. I didn't want a thing to do with this.
Starting point is 00:15:10 And as soon as that happened, I kind of stood there for a second of shock in my climber stand. And I instantly called my parents. I was like, hey, something's wrong. I don't like this. I didn't tell them what it was at first or anything. I was like, I just saw something. It's not natural. I don't like this.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I would feel safe. We're getting out of here. So I called them. I told them that. And I got all my gear ready. And I climbed down as quick as I could. And as soon as I started walking, I got on the phone with them, like, hey, this is my location. This is what I'm doing.
Starting point is 00:15:39 I'm walking out of here. I'm getting out here as quickly as I can. Something's not right. I'm not alone. And I told him that. And so I instantly booked to the top of the ridge where this thing came from, going the opposite direction. So I got on top of that.
Starting point is 00:15:54 I got about two-thirds up this ridge and stopped to get a vantage point and look behind me. So this thing is following me. See if I look back there. See if I could see anything. And right when I stopped from the direction this thing went, I heard what it's kind of hard to describe. It's like
Starting point is 00:16:12 I don't have heard something we'll describe this as a woman's scream but this thing, I've heard bobcats. I've found around bobcats and coyotes and stocks a lot. I've been around them all. I've heard everything you can pretty much think of in Kentucky. This thing was really scary
Starting point is 00:16:30 because it was like a woman's scream, but if it was super deep if that makes sense. sense. Like, it was super deep, like a yell almost. Like, it was yelling at me. And it had like a shrill to it right at the end. And after thinking about it, it almost seems like a how now.
Starting point is 00:16:54 To know it sounds kind of weird and confusing and crazy, as much people will say. Most people will think that probably. But that's the only way I can describe it. And I was on the phone of my mom at the time when this and that. that scream happened and they even heard it. They're like, what is that? I was like, I don't know. I'm getting out of here. I don't, I'm out. I don't like this. So then what took me about an hour, hour of 15 really, to walk into this place.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I ran the whole way back, carrying a climber stand in my back, a backpack, and a bow, and a knife in my hand. That took me about 30 minutes to walk, to run out of there. And I was running over, I was running through creek, through creeks, over a ridge, another ridge. cross. I ran all the way at the ridge and down through creeks. And I just threw everything in my truck and I just peeled out of there. I didn't want a thing to do with it. And I didn't say a word about this to anybody for probably two days. I didn't even tell my parents until I think I got home from college. It was just two weeks later because this was near finals. So I didn't tell them until I got home from finals what it really was. So that was probably the, that was the end of
Starting point is 00:18:05 the first encounter, thankfully. What did your parents say? Well, I grew up, I've grown up, and I'm myself, I'm a Christian. I've grown up in a Christian household my whole life. And I told my mom, who's a preacher's kid, and she said the first thing I told her, she's like, that's got to be demonic. And I was like, it was like alive. It was right there.
Starting point is 00:18:29 It was like, I mean, there was no, it looks physical in the way it acted. but she just thought, my parents thought, just stay well like well. It's probably demonic. Just try to ignore it and just don't think about it. And I was like, okay. I just, I don't really know. It was just kind of crazy.
Starting point is 00:18:48 And I talked to one of my roommates, which is this, I don't think I told you this most, actually. I talked to my roommate who I hunt with a lot. Not a lot, but he has a private property hunts. And I measured it. It was a mile and a half exactly. where I was as a crow flies.
Starting point is 00:19:07 And he was hunting that same time of night. And this thing came from actually the same direction he came. Like he was his farms at, he hunts. And he hunts, I'll say farm, but really, it's just a thick woodland that this farmer lets him hunt since he can't farm it or anything. So he lets him hunt it. He leases it. And this wolf thing, I say, the dogman looking thing, came directly from that direction.
Starting point is 00:19:30 He was. And I saw this thing at around 430, 4.45. he said that when he was hunting he said that the wood was really full of life he said there's squirrels everywhere and all of a sudden at around 4-4-15 he said the woods just went dead silent for only a few minutes and he said that he said he's had a feeling of like dread he's like because this guy he's probably one of the brightest guys I don't know he he carries and he said that's the first time I ever pulled a gun he's like I was like why he's like I don't know he said I did not feel safe for once.
Starting point is 00:20:04 And I was, I was like, when'd you see it? He said, four, four, 15. And he said, all of a sudden, he said for like five minutes. And all of a sudden, the dread went away in his body. And all of a sudden, the woods came alive again. So I don't know if that is any correlation. And I told him by my encounter, he said, you don't need to be hunting there anymore. And I was like, yeah, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:20:24 And I was so I did not have the rest of the year season. And as people from Kentucky, if they hear this, they know that deer season for bow doesn't end until the end of January. I did not touch my bow. I didn't touch anything hunting or the rest of deer season. I did not go into the woods again until probably the spring of 25 for turkey season, which that concludes that first encounter. It's really fascinating how you described the behavior. And I almost think there was two things going on there, but I'll come back to that in a second.
Starting point is 00:20:59 The wildlife biologist you mentioned, I believe that was episode 769 with Matt. And he actually worked for the state. And I remember him talking about this wolf on his property, this enormous wolf on his property. And if my memory is right, he actually shot it with a 30-odd-6. I mean, you're talking 180-grain bullet traveling about 2,900 feet per second coming at you. and he watched the impact of the bullet and nothing didn't even seem to affect the creature.
Starting point is 00:21:33 And you went to school to become a wildlife biologist, didn't you, Nathaniel? Yes, I'm currently in school for wildlife biology and I have studied wolves actually. We studied in one of my classes for a month and a half
Starting point is 00:21:47 solely on the my teacher, my professor has a fascination with wolves so we spent a whole month and a half on it and I learned the anatomy me of wolves. I learned pretty much everything you can think about wolves, not a month before this. And that's what I think really scared me the most because I saw this and there was just some stuff that was, it was wolf-like, but it was just, if you could describe it as like a wolf on steroids, and I did not like that. And it was, I think it's what scared me the most. It's just I know something
Starting point is 00:22:15 wasn't right. It's just kind of scary all around. It was one thing I forgot to tell you. this it was what really freak me out as well was like you know how wolves they're like they're pretty they got muscle on them but like this thing I can see like it's it's fur was struck jet black but I could see like definition that makes sense like it's high in legs really big I did see a tail but it was not much of one I could I think I saw one I just couldn't see it the way the angle was it could have been more fur that was just kind of coming off but I don't know about the tail for sure but the hind legs were massive
Starting point is 00:22:59 like they were almost like a bodybuilder's legs that makes sense they were to where it's almost like that thing was able to walk on two legs like you know how like some like I'm trying to think because we learned about it in the class with the physiology of animals and everything how their muscles work like you need strong muscles in the hind legs to be able to stand. Like dogs can't because they don't have as much
Starting point is 00:23:25 strong rear muscles in their their hind quarters. And I don't know, the whole thing about it, just my mind was going at 100 miles a minute and everything about it was just saying, nope, nope, nope, nope, I don't like this. Yeah, would have spooked me. I think you handled it better than I would have. And you know, when I would get these reports of
Starting point is 00:23:47 this dog man, none of it made sense to me when I very first heard it. Because like you were saying, dogs can't walk on two legs. They're not going to walk on their back legs. Like my little teddy, you'll get up on two legs when he wants a treat or when he wants something from you. But it's not for very long. We're not going jogging together with him on two legs. Like you were saying, they're built for four legs, the way their spine, pelvis, the muscles, they're all shaped to run and jump on all fours. And canines carry most of their weight on their front legs. Their whole like center of gravity is too far forward for them to like stand up on their back legs and run around like a man.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Being that you've studied this and you see this thing walking around on two legs and then have it go down to all fours. And at first you thought it was a man. What do you make of a canine getting up on two legs and walking around like a man from like a scientific point of view? Yeah, I don't know. It was honestly just confusion when I first saw it drop down because my mind was thinking like, what? That doesn't.
Starting point is 00:25:09 At first I thought I was like, there's no way I just saw that thing and this thing is related. like, oh, maybe this coyote got scared by a human walking. Then I looked and I was like, wait a minute, that's not that far apart. That is the same thing. My mom was honestly just in confusion until I started looking at this thing. The more I looked at it, the more just kind of dread came over me. And when it looked at me, it never made any facial expressions until like right when it got to the edge of the woods. Like it was just kind of staring at me like a staring contest.
Starting point is 00:25:40 I never saw it blink once. Or I may have blinked and it may have done the same thing. But it was just staring at me. Like right when it got to the edge of the Cedar Tree thicket, it almost had a sense of where it looked like it grinned, if that makes sense. Like a scared you sort of deal. I think it was honestly more surprised to see me than anything.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Because the first one at first saw me, it almost had like a, like, whoa, you're there. I first saw it. Because it was upwinded to me. So I don't know if it ever smelled me at first. And I just saw me. And it was like, oh, you're there. That's not good.
Starting point is 00:26:21 And just kind of went back to like just kind of stared at me trying to figure out. And I was, I guess some people say, like, what's your move? Like make your move. Let's see how this goes. And yeah, a lot of this honestly was just dread. And I did not, I did not like that because it kind of seeing that kind of just broke every logical like thought and experience
Starting point is 00:26:44 I've ever had. So I was just in confusion and just filled a dread when I saw it. It was just scary. It's all the way to describe it. It's just scary and did not like it.
Starting point is 00:26:54 You know, I used to be a hunter, a rifle hunter. I've never been a bow hunter. It was never my thing. And most non-bow hunters probably won't like me saying this, but bow hunters are like ghosts. I've come across two, and the only reason I knew they were there is they made their presence known.
Starting point is 00:27:16 I probably would have never seen them. They really are like ghosts in the forest. And this thing seemed to kind of zero in exactly where you're at. What do you make of that? I don't know exactly. It's because I was, there was no, I don't know how he could in the skyline, unless he saw me from a previous standpoint, he was at. but I was facing towards him
Starting point is 00:27:40 so my tree stand was in line but he may the only way I can I mean I was pretty well hidden I mean I had Cammo obviously on and it's bottom lane camo which I hunt in a lot of bottoms so it's almost identical to oak trees and
Starting point is 00:27:55 it's I don't know it's just strange it's like it's almost instant he just picked me out and just instantly locked on to me and it was maybe the wind could have swirled and he just instantly smelled me but I was really well hidden because I, as I was walking out, I looked at my tree thinking, how did he just do that? Like, how did it know I was there?
Starting point is 00:28:16 And I was, I was behind another tree, basically, where a tree had a branch going. And I climbed just to where I could get above that so I could kind of shoot. And if I had a deer come by, I could get the full draw without being seen. And this, I, my only thing is, I guess it could have, it may see in black and white like some dogs do. or not black and white, but like, like some animals in the animal kingdom don't seem in colors to where, like, as known marine animals,
Starting point is 00:28:46 they can see in basically black and whites where octopus, octopoe, sorry, are actually, doesn't not matter if they had to camouflage. They see right exactly where they're at. And it almost makes me wonder if it was that sort of deal that instantly knew where I was because my came over,
Starting point is 00:29:04 the disfiguration, the tree, line that he just kind of picked up on. I think I maybe moved a little bit. When I saw me, I kind of like jumped, like, what is that? I think it maybe saw me when I did that. It seems like this creature, whatever it is, seems to be able to really zero in on where people are at.
Starting point is 00:29:27 It's moving in on you. What do you think its intention was? And why do you think it backed off all of a sudden? I think I was not the original. target, really. I don't think it knew or thought I was there. I think it was honestly stalking a deer herd that was in a betting area just about 150 yards to my right, my front right, about probably 3 o'clock. And it was moving towards that betting area. I think it was mainly focused on them, but then it saw, man, it's like, I think it was just kind of like,
Starting point is 00:30:02 what are you doing there? Like, it kind of locked on to me from, I think it locked on to me for a minute, because it was trying to figure out is this dude worth it? Is this guy? What's he going to do? But then it kind of, I think it,
Starting point is 00:30:15 I kind of turned my bow to where it saw that and he was like, I guess that's when he kind of changed where he's like, he kind of got less focused on me like, no, nah, not worth it. And it's kind of more focused on those deer.
Starting point is 00:30:27 And that's when he was like right at the edge of the two, you're thinking when he kind of stood up. And I don't know. I think it's the only way I can really describe it. Yeah, I think you described it well. In my opinion, I think there was probably two things going on there. And again, this is my opinion, so kind of just take it as that. People in the Big Four world will say that these canine, these upright, these dogmen, and Sasquatch don't get along. I don't believe that for two seconds. I think not only do they get along, I think they work together. The woodnocks you heard,
Starting point is 00:31:06 I don't believe came from this canine creature that you saw. It getting distracted and kind of backing off away from you, I think was probably a Sasquatch. The scream that you later heard, I don't think came from that canine creature. But I could be wrong. I know you talked about how big this creature was. Compared to you, how much bigger was this thing than you?
Starting point is 00:31:32 I'm 6'3 and like around 190 at this time I was 195 I'm a weightlifter I'm a decently sized guy and this thing probably if I was standing next to it
Starting point is 00:31:47 its shoulder probably it was easily taller in me when it was all fours like not all fours um it was bipedal it tired me probably I bet it was probably seven foot
Starting point is 00:31:55 because I went right past where that thing walked through and I sold a branch that it passed and I had to look up at it. So it was probably around seven foot. Not soon when it's standing up. But if it was on all fours, it probably was around almost chest
Starting point is 00:32:14 like not above weight between my waist and my chest probably is where I have to guess. But it was just kind of, it was beefy, but it was, again, it was just kind of wolf-like. It was really kind of like lean, if that makes sense. It had muscle, but it was lean if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:32:32 It was very strange. I don't know. It's very strange. There's a lot of things that just kept me confused about it. Even to this day, I'm confused about it. Yeah, and I could understand why. I wanted to ask you, you know, one thing that gets reported with Dogman and Sasquatch is the force going quiet. And I've experienced it.
Starting point is 00:32:55 And it's really hard to explain without it sounding like nonsense. And I understand, you know, when a predator is nearby, prey will be quiet. But the insects don't shut off. I can name like 10 other things that don't shut off. The wind doesn't shut off. And even that guy on the property that had seen the creature 15 minutes before you saw it, he described the same thing, the forest just going dead silent. You being an experienced guy out there, what do you make of that?
Starting point is 00:33:28 but the forest just going quiet? I don't know because I've heard of hunters talking about that before and people talking about that. I've heard guys around me. I've never personally seen that, but I always heard that.
Starting point is 00:33:41 And it was kind of instinct. I heard the insect shut off. Like, because you know how like we have like dyslexicata sometimes. Even then that late, we still have some. And there's stuff making noise. And I knew when it was when dead silent,
Starting point is 00:33:54 I knew something was completely wrong. And it was kind of like, an instinct. It was like, I was like, that's, that's not right. Everything about it was just not right. And I think mainly when that happens is just like, I don't, because biologically, I mean, obviously pray goes silent, but as you said, like pray go silent, but it's just, it doesn't make sense that everything goes quiet. I mean, from a biological standpoint, my scientific stuff, I mean, it just, it doesn't seem natural. That's like, it's like, I guess like the, Some people can say like the head honchos rolling through.
Starting point is 00:34:31 That ain't, it's like when a gunslinger walks through the Wild West, like everybody kind of hides. It's kind of what I can relate it to. Yeah, that's actually a pretty good analogy. It's like Doc Holliday rolling into a bar. All of a sudden, everyone's on their best behavior. You know, I know when you talk to your mom, she said that she thought it was a demon, which she may not be wrong.
Starting point is 00:34:56 I used to think spiritual things couldn't be physical, but I don't really believe that anymore. What do you think this dog man is? At first of all, honestly, it was not trying to talk conspiracy theories, but I thought something, government did something weird and escaped or something like that,
Starting point is 00:35:15 because, I mean, we're not too far from military bases and so forth. I mean, they can easily cover ground. I thought more so, just like it was a natural thing that just got evolution just kind of went crazy with. But then I kind of had three different thinking. I thought that at first and then I was like, well, maybe this thing was like something
Starting point is 00:35:39 they talked about in the Old Testament like something like Christopher Columbus. I've heard people talk about that. Like I think you actually mentioned on your show, maybe. Or some people have Christopher Columbus talking about it. And Marco Polo, I think. somebody said, mentioned that, like, they see these wolfmen, like, kind of deal, like, what is, I forgot the name, the Egyptian, the Egyptian sense. I thought it was like one of those
Starting point is 00:36:05 deals where I thought it was just like an ancient evolutionary thing. And, but now the more I'm looking at it, the more I lean towards the demonic side that just, that can come, like, more physical, I guess. And I honestly, to this point, I just kind of, ignore it and I never go in the woods without a Bible and I did not start taking a Bible until this turkey season this of this year in 2026 and ever since then I've not had a single problem so that's where I kind of just say I just kind of assume it was a demonic presence and whenever I walk out of the woods now I'm always praying typically and I just kind of stay out of it it's kind of wrote it off as a demonic presence
Starting point is 00:36:52 and I just kind of I think it's makes of both more so it's like a demonic but also physical yeah and you may not be wrong I mean there's something weird with this dog man I know from talking to you off the air you never really went back to that place where you saw this creature
Starting point is 00:37:09 but you have continued to hunt and you'd mention you'd actually seen the lights tell me about that again it was the fall of 25 this time. I turkey hunted the spring. I hunted with my roommate. I hunted with him every time I went out.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Never went by myself. Always had somebody with me because I did not hunt the dark. I didn't like it. It freaked me out. But I hunted the fall. And this was probably like around actually the first November, I think. First or second of November. And I was bow hunting.
Starting point is 00:37:43 And this was a different area. About four miles exactly. I measured it right before I got on the car. call. I measured it as four miles from the exact location of where I saw the weird lights, as people say. And this spot, I hiked about a mile in. And as I was walking in, this hunt specifically, I spooked a giant buck. And I noticed, I was walking up the old logging road. And I spooked it. So I was thinking, okay, well, I'll go around this bottom, this Creek Valley. I'll go behind, he went on top of a a big ridge top and it kind of flattened out like a big flat plateau.
Starting point is 00:38:21 So I thought, I knew where he was running to. So like, okay, I'm going to cut him off. So I went up that way. I climbed a straight ridge, like a ridge slide, which was insanely steep. I had to, it took me forever to get up because I was trying to be quiet because the leaves just fall in there, just getting crunchy. It hadn't rained a while. And it took me a while to get up.
Starting point is 00:38:40 I had to climb up basically in all fours. I got set up, didn't see anything. So then it got dark. and then I got down from the tree and it was kind of dark because I mean it gets really dark in the woods pretty quick and I noticed that I was looking towards the middle of this plateau
Starting point is 00:38:58 I looked and I was facing like a way from the plateau and I look over my right shoulder and I see a light like a green light and I was like oh I guess there's a hunter up here I didn't see his truck or the parking lot I guess he got in here late and then I kind of thing like I was like oh there's just another hunter
Starting point is 00:39:16 probably talk to him later. I'll probably meet him at the parker month. And I get my, I was working on my, my climber stand. I was getting it all put together and getting strapped down. And I look back and there's two. And I was like, oh, I guess they're together. I guess there's two guys. And then I noticed that I kind of looked more closely. I was like, that looks kind of weird. And I noticed there was two. And they were like green, like not green apple green, but like, like, I mean, just like a green light, as he's probably, like, everybody's probably seen,
Starting point is 00:39:49 just like a, it was just kind of like there. It didn't really move, wasn't moving. It just kind of was sitting there, not doing anything. It was very symmetrical, like very just a spear. And I was thinking, that's kind of weird. Okay, it's kind of time to go. It's kind of got a little frigate guy. I was like, that's kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:40:09 I don't like that. And I got my ladder stand. I got my ladder stand. climber stand. I got it all put together and strap down everything. I went back and I noticed that it was like they were hovering. I noticed they're right at the top of that tree line. That's like almost that's like six and a half, seven feet tall. I'm like what from the world? And as I noticed that they kind of started like inching closer because I saw them like pass a branch. I could see there's a tree, like they went right.
Starting point is 00:40:43 You've seen hunters walk through the woods. Like you've seen your buddy, you're a hunter, another hunter. Like, it kind of like bives up and down. Like you, like a person can walk. Like you just, you're going over terrain and whatever. This thing stayed directly flat. Just was like moving at me like at a consistent pace. Like just slowly but surely coming right at me.
Starting point is 00:41:01 And they stayed like never moved from like, what I guess about eight feet apart. It stayed. And I was like, is that a TV? but then I saw it go between a tree I could still see. Like it was just dark enough to where I could, it was just dark enough to where I couldn't see, but I could still see silhouettes from the sunset behind it.
Starting point is 00:41:22 And it was just coming directly. I mean, I could see it split a tree. They consistently started moving at me. And that's when I was like, nope, I'm out. And I just kind of didn't necessarily run, but I was moving quicker than I usually would have. I got down the ridge. I slid all the way down the,
Starting point is 00:41:41 side of the ridge top and it was pretty slick so I slid down really quick and I got to the very behind the valley. It didn't seem anything wrong at first but then I got to where there's like an old road you can walk down. It's like a less steep I guess you could say like there's a steep part of the ridge and there's like a flat like what kind of like flattens out and as soon as I got to that flattened part the woods again just went kind of like not necessarily silent but it's like the bird, like there's no critters. It did not seem right.
Starting point is 00:42:16 I had a weird feeling come over me again. And I got to where I was probably maybe a quarter mile, half a mile from a truck. And I was walking through an open field, like a CRP field, I think they call it. A lot of just a natural, like, wildland growth. And I was walking through one of the cut lanes
Starting point is 00:42:34 done by fishing wildlife. And I stopped for a second. And I've never loaded my pillowed I had a pistol the time. I had one since I got that after that first encounter, I had a pistol as the first time I've ever loaded it. I never had to load it ever in the woods at all. And I didn't, and I just had a feeling like I had a very dark feeling like just come over me. I was like, I rackling the chamber and I was just sitting there. I was just looking around, but I didn't see anything. I didn't see the lights anymore. I didn't see that. But then I started to walk and I kind of like did a quick step and I stopped. I heard like the boom boom, which was two footsteps. I heard a twig break. And I was like, I've been followed up by coyotes. Like I've, before that first wolf encounter,
Starting point is 00:43:21 I'll do you got followed out by a pack of coyotes like a week before that. And it didn't even bother me. Because I mean, it's just the coyotes. I'm not going to do anything to you. But like, it just didn't, it didn't seem right because it sounded heavy. Like, you could like almost feel it. It was like, boom, boom. and I was like, I didn't think, I didn't know what to think of it.
Starting point is 00:43:42 In that point, I ran. I ran back to the truck and I could hear something to my side. And I was walking next to woods. It was like an open field and there's woods. I just heard something kind of keeping in pace with me, but like not right next to me. It was like, it was like just behind me in my back corner. It was just keeping pace with me. And I heard that.
Starting point is 00:44:02 And then right when I got, I'd cross a pretty big creek, as soon as I got to go to cross that creek, it's stopped. You got to my truck, I threw everything in it, and I was like, I got my, so I sat my truck. I was like, what just happened? It was strange, because I've never had that happened before. I don't know what to think about it, but the orb thing kind of freaked me out, but the more so being followed out freaked me out the most. Yeah, that is interesting that you saw the lights and then you were followed out. How big were those green lights you were seeing? just bigger than a softball. Like a, I guess you could say a cantaloupe maybe,
Starting point is 00:44:42 a cantaloupe size. Like, my first song, I was like, that's a really big headlight too wearing. Like I thought a hunter was wearing, I was like, it's really big. But then I guess a cantalope size, like it was bigger than a softball, between a softball and a cantaloupe.
Starting point is 00:44:58 It was just a solid, pretty good size, like a ball sized. And it was very strange. Again, I've seen a lot of hunters at night, even climbing down from trees. Like, I didn't know they were there. I see lights coming down. Like, I use a green light when I'm walking. Like, if I'm walking into an area in the dark, I use a red light.
Starting point is 00:45:18 If I'm walking out, I use a green so I can see easier. Because I think personally that, I don't know, it may just be me, I can see better with the green light. But, yeah, just to clarify, I did not have a headlight on at all this whole trip. I use the helmet with the green light. I forgot it in my truck. So I had no lights. So there's no reflective, no nothing. It was not my light.
Starting point is 00:45:38 There's nobody. And also, there's nobody at the parking lot. Like, I was the first one in there for like a while because this was during the week. This is in the middle of the week after class. So when you got down to your truck, you realized no one else is there. But you, at the time, though, when you were being paced out, you never actually saw what was pacing you out. Did you think it was another man? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:00 I thought it was probably a person when I first was fault. like but this like I mean I was full on running I mean I was pretty fast moving and this thing was running through like thick trees like thick underbrush and trees like thorn thick and just keeping right pace with me so I told myself as a person at first but then I was like the more I thought about it I was like no that doesn't make sense and then I learned about people seeing these orbs and being related to Sasquatch sightings and I was out of off his in Sasko, I'm not saying it was. All I noticed for sure, I did get followed up
Starting point is 00:46:37 by something, and I heard it, loud and clear. Because the faster I went, it started basing up. And I thought at one point, I heard like a, oh, oh, like a, like it was like panting, but like a grunt, like a grunt and pant.
Starting point is 00:46:54 But I don't know if that was, just, I don't know what it was. I thought I heard that, but I didn't know for sure. So I just kind of ignored that part. I know something was following me, though. So that's what really freaked me out. And I tried to hunt that same area again two times. I went there in the morning once,
Starting point is 00:47:10 taking somebody that never been hunting before. Because there was a big buck in there. And I took somebody from my class that was wanting to go. And it pulled up to that spot. And I was like, I walked out the truck. And it was just, I don't know, you had an eerie feeling. Like that whole area, it's like you either walk in there.
Starting point is 00:47:28 One day you feel there's nothing going on. There's not a problem, not nothing. and like it just feels like the woods. It's nice. Then sometimes you go in there, you just feel like a feeling like you shouldn't be here. And I'm like, okay,
Starting point is 00:47:39 I'm out. It's like I don't even question it anymore when I have those feelings because oftentimes you're right. And it was one of those times where I just didn't feel right. And then I waited about another week. It was towards end of November.
Starting point is 00:47:54 It was right in the finals. I tried it one more time. I pulled up and I was going to walk in there and I got about maybe a quarter of, mile in and I just felt like I was being watched and it was middle of the day it was like two o'clock nobody there it was like I think it was a Wednesday that day and I just I felt like it's being watching I was like all right I'm out so the rest of the last deer season I found I thankfully found a spot that was next to the road actually that these deer that was just overlooked by hunters and
Starting point is 00:48:29 I hunted, I think the legal requirement is like 200 feet. I think until he used to hunt from the road. I was probably 300 feet in from the road. So I was, I never very far now from the road. I don't go too far into the public land. It's just not worth it. I'm not sure if I'm going to hunt public land much this year. Yeah, I don't blame you.
Starting point is 00:48:52 What happened in 2025? Was it an incident with the lights? It was not the lights, but. I was followed out again. This spot was two miles from the orb spot, the light spot. And it was in a different area. I was turkey hunting. It was a peaceful evening.
Starting point is 00:49:13 I was looking over. I was trying to root some turkeys. I only sell two hens, and they already had bolts. So I was thinking, well, because it was like right at the end of turkey season. I was just trying to do a hellmary, trying to get some. I was very surprised they already had bolts because it was an early year. A lot of them have. braided early and that was the first
Starting point is 00:49:32 political scene so I was very happy I was like awesome so I left and it was really a dark and I saw deer walking in and walking out so I was I was like okay they're here because I never did see anytime I've been walked out I never saw deer at night
Starting point is 00:49:49 when I had these encounters. It's like the deer were just gone but whenever I did see deer before this there was no problem so I heard birds everything it was a normal day. And I was like, okay, awesome.
Starting point is 00:50:01 This is a great day. But then I was walking this one lane county road out. I made it to the road because it's just easier said I had to walk through a marsh. I was just walking along this county road. And it was surrounded by both sides. There was one on the left side was an old cornfield that was growing up now. A lot of thick, just a lot of thick weeds and ragweeds and whatever. And there was honeysuckle on my right.
Starting point is 00:50:25 Just kind of walking along. Then I kind of heard something. Kind of looked over my left. and I was thinking, what in the world is that? And I kind of paused. I didn't hear anything. I was like, okay, I just kept walking. And then I heard like a, like a bush move.
Starting point is 00:50:40 And then I got, and then it was honeysuckle to my left, too. I was like, surround the honeysuckle. Like, it was shaking, like, violently. I was like, what in the world? I was like, I thought I just, like, spooked like something. A lot of just spooked like a deer or a raccoon or something, climbing down from it. And I heard like a grunt, like a, ooh.
Starting point is 00:50:58 I was like, oh, that's not normal. Then I was thinking, oh, shoot, I just spoke to bear. Because at that time of year, a lot of male bears typically roam, a lot of black bears. Didn't want to run, but I started kind of walking backwards to where I was facing it still. And then started kind of picking up the face and I turned around again. And then I stopped because I dropped my, I dropped my, I fell on my vest. And as I picked that up, I heard again, I turned around again. in like a do do do and it like stopped like it was like I realized like like a
Starting point is 00:51:34 abruptly something third step again just like that really loud stump and then I ran and it again followed me just off the road just out of sight and this time I actually could see the figure and I saw a figure just kind of running through the woods like tree to tree and it was just again, scary. It was, I saw that, I just looked over, and I just happened to see that, like, it went from this tree to that tree, and I was like, it was moving fast. I got to my truck, and then I just, because I had to cross a bridge, and I did not, as soon as I got to that, again, crossing the water, never heard it.
Starting point is 00:52:16 It stopped. And I just got my truck, and I peeled out of there. I was out. And ever since then, I've not had any weird experiences. this year hopefully don't have to see anymore because the woods are my happy place and I'm trying to let that bother me
Starting point is 00:52:33 but I have a hard time with the dark now especially since the lights thing when I got followed out because I just don't know what's in those woods now and I never go in the woods without a pistol or a gun and
Starting point is 00:52:46 I get really sketched out now easily by a lot of things so yeah but you know that may not necessarily be a bad thing. I'm kind of the same way. I'm on high alert now. Anytime I go in the woods, I'm very aware of my surroundings. And I always was before, but not like I am now. As long as you don't let it kind of ruin your hunting, I think once you cross that line of like the fear kind of
Starting point is 00:53:14 taking over, kind of like with me. I mean, I won't go hunting. I might go camping, but it's going to be in a campground. And I'm armed to the teeth when I go out there. I would try to try and find an area farther away. I think a lot of times hunters will have an encounter and they're like, I'm never going back there again. But then they'll drive three miles up the road and be like, okay, I'm going to hunt here. You really haven't left the area. But be safe while you're out there. And I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share it. I really enjoyed chatting with you, Nathaniel. Oh, thank you all. Thank you for having me. I really appreciate it and being able to talk about it and I listen to your show and it's great. Thank you for doing what you do and
Starting point is 00:53:59 thank you again for everything. Thanks again. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email.
