Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:172 Strange activity in the woods
Episode Date: December 10, 2015Bob Garrett comes on and we discuss an investigation about going activity at a family home in the woods. Bob and I spoke to the witnesses the other night we will give you an update on what is going on.... I will be also speaking to two police officers who are listeners of the show and they found some very interesting evidence in the woods. You have seen the video posted to the blog a couple of days ago titled "Strange activity in the woods." The gentlemen are going to share the context behind that video. They had some interesting things happen while in the woods when they were recording that video. To see the video we will be discussing, click HERE to view the episode page on our site.

Five, five, four, four, three, three, two, one, one.
When I had come down this hill, I had seen this creature cross the road.
They would have ripped my locked door from my truck,
extracted me from my vehicle,
and no one of that damn thing I could have done about it.
This thing I got to notice in its eyes.
His eyes was real, real evil, real sinister looking.
You know, the look it was given me.
What are you putting?
See ya.
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That son of a bitch is about 60 bucks.
I'm looking right at him.
Sasquatch Chronicle, a place where people share their encounters.
Let's start the show.
That's nice.
Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
It means it kind of makes you want to grab a little egg nod to go sit by the fire.
It's a fun time of year.
I know not for everyone this time of year.
Isn't that great a time of year if you have separated families or
If you're just going through tough times, sit back, relax, I'll take care of you tonight.
Got a great show planned for you.
Got a couple witnesses coming up.
A couple of interesting things.
I posted to the blog a couple days ago, this video, Strange Things Out of the Woods.
And it was actually taken by two police officers.
I really didn't go into that.
But the area was actually taken by two police officers.
They had recorded seeing tree breaks.
they'd recorded kind of the strange rock structure.
It looks like an enclosure where you'd put something small up on this ridge line.
And I thought the whole video as a whole was very fascinating.
But I got the cops on.
They'll be coming on here shortly to talk about what they experienced in that area
and kind of give you more context behind the video.
I'm always preaching context.
Sometimes we see videos and it's quick to make an easy judgment.
Oh, that's a fake or, oh, that's.
That's nothing.
But when you have context behind the video, sometimes that helps to really soak in what you're
looking at.
And they'll be coming on here shortly.
If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email,
Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out the website, Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
These are normally midweek shows that I do.
A lot of times I'll do them on Friday night.
I wanted to welcome everyone to the show tonight to, to tell you.
talk about some of the different things going on.
You know, it's interesting.
I had a phone call from a couple that was having some issues going on on their property,
and they were sharing with me a lot of different things that were going on,
and I invited Bob Garrett, who's a fan favorite, show favorite, one of my personal favorites,
to come on and talk to the couple.
And he had some great advice, and so Bob, I want to welcome me to the show.
I appreciate you being here tonight.
And I got to thank you for the other night, you know, for the audience, kind of what's going on, and Bob will give his take on it.
I tend to agree with everything he said the other night.
I had a witness call me who has some issues going out on their property, and I'm working on getting the witness on the show.
But they've had rocks turn at the house.
They've had their door handles turn.
They've had all sorts of things happen around the house.
They've had vocalizations.
They've had tree structures.
built. And a couple things interesting about the home for the listeners out there. It's a rental
property. And the witness was telling Bob and I the other night that this rental property has
been rented several times over the last couple years. People tend to just leave in the
middle of the night. I think the last guy that left actually turned his Jeep over in a race
to get out there in the middle of the night. He was a county sheriff.
The reason why they knew that is he had left his card in one of the drawers at the house.
But they've had all kinds of problems going on.
The husband is actually a long-haul truck driver, and he's only there for a week,
and then he's gone for a couple weeks, and he's back for a week.
And the property is located out in the middle of nowhere, kind of up in the mountains.
And Bob, what was your take talking to the witnesses the other day?
Yeah, I think they are totally legitimate.
Everything that the wife and the husband was relaying to us is totally on spot.
And I think they have a real problem out there.
I think it could turn ugly for them.
Pretty easy.
Yeah, and I'm glad that you came on that call.
I've had that call a couple times from different places.
like Kentucky, Missouri, a lot of places down south.
I mean, I've had that call several times from other people.
And it's really hard what advice to give to them.
You know, sometimes you get so frustrated like this witness
to where they're ready to start shooting.
And I can understand that, you know,
with the feeling of being tormented by these things.
But what's some of the advice you gave that witness?
And then anyone else in this situation, Bob,
where they're out living in the middle of nowhere
and they had this stuff going on,
what advice would you give them?
Well, Wes, I have a lot of people down here
who I have given the similar advice too.
They apparently were having a trouble
keeping their lot, you know,
their living space on the outside lit up
because the bulbs were being, you know,
knocked out or slapped or whatever.
I've always, my advice,
I'm sorry,
my very first advice to them
is to light up
your lot, light up
around your house, light up the
trees, the forest around you.
And if they have put a
stick structure up, you may
or may not want to do this,
but take it down.
Take it down because what they're doing is they're telling you that this is theirs.
Well, you've got to make sure that they understand that, no, this is mine.
And, you know, many of the people that I have talked to here in the past years
I've had the similar problems.
I've heard the same things, you know, from the husbands and the wives.
And this actually does work.
take down the stick structure,
burn it.
Put your own up.
And if you want to,
you can even go and buy a light
that is totally remote
and it's all battery powered.
And if there's something going on down there
where you put up yours,
well, hit that light and light it up
because it's pretty bright.
hunters use it for hog hunting and put things like that to light up their feeders.
And you can use it in this situation also.
But also, you know, you want to put out some soft lighting too.
Put some Christmas lights out.
Make sure that you're able to turn everything on inside.
Turn the lights on.
If they're hitting the side of your house, turn those Christmas lights on.
They don't like it.
Even the soft light.
They don't like it, and they'll move away.
And it's harder for them to break those off than it is for them to, you know, break out, you know, floodlights.
Use solar power floodlights that are motion-censored.
Many of them don't cost that much and put them around your house.
And if they break them out, they pull them down, you can put another one up there.
them dark but like $19 or $20.
And make sure you take and replace your porch lights with a double floodlight fixture.
It's real easy.
It just goes up just like the porch light did.
And that way you can turn that on, shine it out into the yard, and just use that for
your porch light.
You can leave that on all the time.
I have people down here that are, you know, right backed up to some very lonely places in the national forest down here,
that I gave them these things to do who were having some really bad problems, losing animals, their dogs being torn apart,
just, you know, all kinds of things were happening to them.
It was getting to the point to where I was actually considering that these,
people might have to move or think about lethal force.
And it usually takes care of the problem.
No, I tend to agree with you, Bob.
You know, one of the things when we were talking to the witness, they said, well, we did
have lights up.
You know, they were about on a 10-foot pole.
And something came through and was breaking the lights.
Right.
And then they'd have to turn the power off and then screw what was left of the light bulb.
And, you know, it just kind of shows you right there.
They generally don't care for the lights.
I think you're right putting up those solar.
lights will kind of deter them, kind of keep them away from the property.
You know, in the situation that you and I talked about, Bob, one thing I thought was interesting,
she said that when she's there, activity's about a three or four.
When her husband and his friend shows up, you know, the guy he drives with, activity goes up to
about a seven or eight.
And then it's the moment he leaves, it seems to kind of die back off.
and, you know, that kind of threw me off a little bit, and you nailed it right on the head.
What was your take on that situation?
Well, what it is is that what's going on more than likely is that you got some males in there.
At one point, I remember she's saying that there was at least five circling the house, five creatures circling the house.
Well, they were probably young males.
What they think they're doing when he comes home and it picks up,
and everything is they're running him off.
He's a long-haul trucker, and he may be gone for two or three days or two or three weeks,
whatever, and they think they run him off.
And then when he comes back, well, you know, we're going to run this, this went back off.
You know, he's not going to come back in here.
This is our woman now, you know.
And that's because that's basically the way they're thinking is that they're running him off.
and then he comes back, well, you know, this guy's a wimp.
We can run him back off.
And it could get dangerous for him also, especially where they're at in such a remote area.
And, you know, with her, well, they're kind of letting her just stay there.
You know, this is more like, well, okay, you're written from us.
You know, this is our territory, but you can stay there.
But we're going to come up and look into windows that too.
We're going to beat the house with sticks, let you know we're there.
We're going to go do a, you know, hit the culverts back and front and let you know that we're here.
She said that they have followed her, shadowed her with her children before.
Well, you know, that's not a good situation to be in.
She needs to be very careful because of their intentions.
They think they're running the men off.
You know, they think they're running the males off.
and the males come back, and then that infuriates them,
and they think they're running the males off again.
They've had the doors pulled on and everything out there.
It's a really boss-at-all situation right now that they're in,
and it's a possibility that they could just come in that house
and take both those kids and her.
I tend to agree with you.
I think they're in a really bad situation.
I really do.
I think the moment I start talking to her, the first thing I said to her was
I think you're in a really bad situation.
situation.
And she would describe to a T what other people would talk about.
She talked about one of the things I thought was interesting, she said, I've heard
of people in similar situations say they slap the house, or they say they come up and
slap the house.
She's probably one of the very first witnesses I talked to you that said, no, I think
he had a stick in its hand.
And I said, what do you mean?
She says, it's like a baseball bat.
You'd hear it tap, tap, tap as it goes down the side of the cabin.
and walking across the porch.
And, you know, a lot of times you hear him come up, slap the house,
or bang on the house.
But this one was interesting.
It was, you know, her saying she thought it had a stick in its hand
and was just tap, tap, tap, all the way down the house as it walked along.
I'm really glad you were on that call, Bob,
because it's one of those situations to where, you know,
I don't want to say the wrong thing because that's someone's home.
They've got to live there.
And they got to deal with, you know, if they call me and I say,
hey, do this, and then they do that, life all of a sudden becomes 100 times worse.
And so, you know, I never want to put someone in a position.
I'd love to go out there and film it and just see the area they're talking about.
Because they sent me a map, and they are in a very, very remote location.
There's water nearby.
There's ridge lines nearby.
There's caves and mines nearby.
And it's not only her, but it's also neighbors that are hearing the same thing.
Right.
Right.
And I thought that was very interesting about the one neighbor that comes over, the female that comes over to visit her.
And even in the daytime, it gets pretty noisy wanting them to know or wanting them to notice them, you might say, you know, like a bunch of little kids, like a bunch of teenagers.
But, you know, that's the way it is.
But the way you're talking about the stick, you know, that's going around the house and they're tapping, tapping, tapping, tapping.
They'll do that.
I have had people tell me that down here.
But a lot of times what you're thinking is a stick is their knuckles tapping the house.
And they'll also do that with a rock.
They'll walk past and they'll tap it with the rock and everything.
Yeah, she's heard some of that, too.
She's heard a lot of rock clacks.
Just for the audience out there.
She's heard a lot of...
There was a situation where she's telling me it was her birthday
and she had the neighbor lady over
and they're sitting out on the back porch.
And she said it sounded like a bunch of monkeys
just causing...
Just making noise.
Just a bunch of monkeys.
And she finally had enough of it.
She never leaves the house now without a shotgun,
which I think is smart.
But she actually got up,
pointed the shotgun in that general direction
of all the noise.
and the noise stopped.
And she said she got the impression really quick,
like,
maybe these things know what this gun does.
Because everything shut up.
Yeah, everything shut up.
Of course they do, West.
And also, you know, she's in an area where there's a lot of bear hunting,
you know, at certain times of the year and everything also.
And these creatures, you know, I always call them creatures.
I'm sorry, but I do.
they're not stupid.
They know what a gun can do.
They have watched hunters kill and take down a big game.
And they may have even been shot at more than once.
You know, I'm quite sure they probably have.
You know, there's a lot of people also down here that will shoot at them and have shot them.
And they just don't, you know, they don't say anything.
And these creatures, they know what a gun can do.
They know what that gun can do.
So it stands to reason that when she did the right thing by pointing that gun out there.
And I even suggested that she shoot up into the treetops.
You don't want to shoot randomly out into the forest, but, you know, shoot up into the, you know, the treetops.
Let them know that, you make business.
You have to assert yourself.
And you can win.
but there are times when, man, it just gets so bad.
And around here, some of the people that I've known, I mean, this one piece of property I'll tell you about real quick, if you got the time.
Yeah, absolutely.
They opened it up.
It's right there at the edge of the forest, you know, the national forest.
They opened up a lot.
It's like 10 acres.
the people put a real nice, you know, double wide in there and everything.
It was out in three months.
And then another couple and family, they put a double white in there.
And it was, they left.
They weren't there more than two months and they left.
And the place was, you know, foreclosed on and everything.
Then a fourth family, you know, moved in there.
They left because they couldn't take it.
The same things were happening to them.
They were coming up, they were coming out of that area.
This is where they hunt their food.
This is where they're birthing and they're going through.
Their water's there.
They have a spring out there.
And they didn't want these people out there.
and there are times when I just tell the people, man, you've got to make a decision, do you want this property or do you want to be safe?
And there's times when you just got to go.
I couldn't agree with you more, and I know in the situation they're in, that's one thing you said to them was, do you guys want this property or do you guys want to leave?
And if you want the property, you kind of have to fight for it.
But I think, you know, I'm with you, Bob.
I think in that situation with this couple,
I think they're in a more dangerous situation than they think.
And I told her, same thing, you know, don't, unless you,
when you're ready to pull that trigger,
be ready for the consequences of pulling that trigger
because you can't take it back.
And unless you're in a really bad situation
to where you have to shoot one, shoot it.
But just know, that's probably the same day you're going to
want to move out of the place because you're going to have nothing
but trouble after you shoot it.
They're not like, it's not like
shooting one coyote out of a pack
of coyotes. Now all the coyotes run off.
These things tend to have a revenge streak
in them when something like that happens.
I've just heard it too many times.
Oh yes. They're very vengeful.
And, yeah, if
they have to shoot,
they're going to want to shoot steel.
and I would suggest if they can do it, a headshot, if not, you know, just to ride on with the shotgun into the chest.
I know that sounds morbid, but, you know, this is what you've got to do.
But the thing about it is you kind of really think about when you're pulling that trigger.
Okay, if they're just walking through your yard, if they're just down there tearing up your, you know, your six-trick,
and putting up another one, you know, if they're throwing rocks at your house and they're throwing rocks out there, you know, between the cars and stuff, even though you're on the porch and everything, I got to tell you that, okay, they are very proficient rock throwers.
If they really wanted to hit you, they would hit you.
You don't want them to hit you, but if they're just doing things like this,
There's no sense in trying to shoot, you know, at shadows and trying to shoot, you know,
at what's looking at you from around the tree.
If they're coming in your house or if they're coming at you on your property,
blatantly coming out and you're seeing them and here they come and you're taking your washdown,
you shoot them.
Other than that, you know, this is not, this is a game to them.
a bully tactic.
And, you know, don't shoot them.
If they're coming in your house, if they're hauling your kids, trying to haul
your kids off, if they're coming at you, full force, you shoot.
But that's the only time you shoot.
Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more.
And, you know, especially when you have them at your home, you have them, it's the
fights at your back door.
You know, you kind of got to treat it like a war almost.
You know, you've got to think tactically
and, you know, shooting one of these things
at this time doesn't make sense.
Am I prepared to deal with what comes afterwards?
You know, the funny thing, too, is with this couple,
the first thing they said is, hey, we're not researchers.
We're not really into this topic.
We're not here to prove anything.
What can we do to make them go away?
Which is generally what you'll find in situations like this
where people have real stuff going on on their property.
they're not wanting to study these things.
I didn't get a sense from talking to the witnesses last night.
They have any that they really want to study these things or do a Jane Goodall.
You know, the first thing is she said to me was, how do we make them go away?
I don't want them on the property anymore.
I just want them on.
Wes, I have heard that so many times.
That's one of the very first signs that somebody's really having problems, you know, for me down here,
is that I just want them to.
go away. How do I make them go away? What I thought, what I said was, uh, uh, we'll make them quiet
down, uh, after a while most of the time. You just got to put the lights up and you got to be
consistent with replacing the light bulbs, uh, you know, when they, uh, bust one out or whatever.
But after a while, they just, you know, it's just not worth it.
and they'll just go around.
They may go around through the woods,
and you can hear them while you're sitting on the porch.
They still might throw a stick or a rock at you,
but they get to where they respect your little area here,
like if you've got an acre or whatever or 10 acres,
they might come through part of that 10 acres,
but they're going to respect around your house.
and you just have to assert yourself.
If you want to continue to live there, that's just what you have to do.
If you want your property, that's just what you have to do.
And I would say nine times out of ten, you're going to get respect from them that way.
But there are the tenth ones who they just got to get out of there.
And some people don't want to go through it.
It's an ongoing thing.
You know, we have to be.
200 acres up in the mountains. We lived 100, you know, 100 miles from the nearest town. There was a
canyon that ran near where my house was, where my cabin was. And they were around my place all the time,
but they were quiet. And, you know, you could hear them down in the canyon. You could hear
I'm coming, but they shut up. But what they wanted was my well. I had a, you know, I lived way off
the grid and I had a hand pump and they would come out there, you know, they saw how we got
water, they come out there and watch the water run out all night long, gee, cheat, cheat, you can
hear them, you know, and they would get water. And that didn't bother us, you know. We, you know,
that was, we let them do that, you know, live and let live, you know. But if they got close to the
cabin, now, you know, my wife would go stand outside and she would bang pots together and stuff
like that. She would
see which
way the wind was blowing and she
would actually
she's meaner than I am
by the way.
She would actually use
bear spray and spray it
into the wind and let the wind blow it off
you know that way is not blowing
towards the house.
And they hated that shit
and they respected her.
They respected, you know, our space.
but it's not always that way.
But that's just what you got to do.
You know, and I tend to agree with you, you know, in that situation that they're in,
it's an odd situation because it threw me off when she said,
well, my husband shows up and his partner shows up and they crash her for a couple days,
activity goes through the roof.
And you think it would be the opposite.
You'd think while a couple males are in the area, these things would back off,
but it's a complete opposite.
Their activity goes through the roof when these guys.
I show up.
And they've had all kinds of stuff.
They had one, he was telling me his trip driver and buddy doesn't even want to come
stay at the house anymore.
They had something circling them.
They were out towards a porch and they heard something in the brush kind of towards
a ravine.
And they're listening to what sounds like a big guy walking around.
And so they take the flashlight, start shining it over there.
They both have guns in their hands.
And then from behind them, he said it sounded like a round.
rhinoceros on two legs, walk across his driveway, real deliberate, real, hey, I'm over here.
And that was 180 degrees from where they were at.
You know, I think you're right.
I think they're in a dangerous situation.
And, you know, it's hard to give someone advice in that situation.
But I think you're right, Bob.
I think in those situations, you have to exert yourself.
Do you want to live here or do you want to just give it up?
And it's not going to be a short road.
It's going to be a long road of dealing.
with them, but taking
pop shots off at them, I don't think,
is a great idea. I think you're right.
I think I'd light the place up.
Make sure they understand that this is your
property. They can go wherever
else, but right here is your property.
And hopefully it works out
for the best, you know?
Lighting the place up is the first
defense because they don't really like that.
I mean, you know, they move around the daytime
and stuff like that, but at night,
they really don't like their night vision
to be messed with.
I think that scares them a good bit.
And also having some good, strong floodlights that are rechargeable,
and you can just, you know, pop it off the wall real quick and go out there
and shine it through your window or shine it, you know, off your porch and everything,
also is a good deterrent, especially if they're out there, you know,
turning your handles and stuff like that.
Believe me, they can turn those handles all they want.
That's a scare tactic.
That's a, you know, I'm right here, and I can come in your house if I want to.
They can go right to into that house anytime they want to.
That's what you've got to think about it.
Is that they can hit you with that rock and kill you if they want to.
They can hit you with that rock and injure you.
I've had my face broken from rocks when they've been really, really pissed off.
But that is a – that is just what you've got to do.
You know, it's a scare tactic on their part.
And, you know, if you look at it, apes do it, chimps do it.
You know, a lot of monkeys, you know, throw rocks,
and a lot of monkeys will use scare tactics.
And, you know, actually I've seen here not too long ago on TV where baboons were watching
the people while two others were up in a truck stealing their foods, you know,
and gave the warning when the people were coming.
It's funny you say that I had a primatologist on a while back from UCLA,
and he was telling me, he came on the show,
we had a witness on that was describing what was going on,
and he said there's nothing in any of the rock throwing,
the shaking of branches, the vocalizations, everything you're describing,
he said every other primate on the planet does that.
If you were in India and telling me the story or if you were in Asia telling me the story,
we'd be talking about a known primate doing the exact same thing as somehow she lived in the middle of nowhere.
Because they do the same thing.
And I've always wondered about the door handle thing, to be honest with you.
I always thought, because I know how big these things are.
And I know to break right through that door would be, I mean, we're talking nothing for them if they really wanted to come in.
but you hear a lot of people say that.
They turn the doorknobs.
They're sitting there laying on the couch,
they'll send their door.
They hear something walk across the deck,
and it starts to turn on the doorknobs.
And it makes you wonder why they do that.
I guess scare tactic would make the most sense.
Yeah, it's just they know you can hear it.
They're just testing your door.
Let's say, you know, up around Colorado Springs,
not out in Garden of the Gods.
You know, there's people who have private residences out there.
And you can look in the Colorado Springs Gazette, you know, some of their back, you know, some of their back pages and everything from years before.
And they've had their screen doors pulled off.
They've had, you know, a lot of people will cook outside and they've had, you know, it's not always a bear.
They find large footprints.
who has turned over their cookers
and who have gotten onto their screened-in porches
and, you know, got into their freezers
and things of that sort, you know,
because people have them outside like that.
And it's nothing for those people around that area
to not say, well, you know, yeah, it's a Sasquatch.
Sasquatches are doing it.
I mean, these people know.
It's in the dead gum paper, you know.
Those people who live out there in those boonies, they know.
But, yeah, they need to be careful.
They need to light up.
There's a lot of things that they can try if it doesn't work.
You know, the water is real close to their driveway.
They've got to creek by their driveway.
And, you know, the creatures probably, you know, want to go there and drink and stuff like that.
They're just in the way, is what it is.
And they think they're running the feet the men off and the men come back until they've got to do it again, you know,
and they get frustrated with that.
And it's a dangerous situation.
At any time, you know, these things can snap at any time and, you know,
meet the man going out to his truck one morning and, you know, just break his neck or take him off.
And, you know, at any time they can decide.
well, you know, these men keep coming back.
Well, you know, we're just going to take the woman and the kids.
Yeah, and that's my biggest worry.
They seem to be really focused on the female and the small children.
That's my biggest worry in that situation.
You know, it's nothing different than what happens on the reservations.
And it's just, it's more so on the reservations because they can get away with it a lot easier than, say,
you know, out here where I'm at, you know.
They know that they can get away with it.
They got a lot of land.
You know, they can just take off and never be found and, you know, come back later on and things like that.
They know when they're safe and they know how to get safe and where they're at, you know,
people will probably never find them if they get taken off.
And it happens on the reservations.
It happens out here.
You know, with people who have homes in the national forest and everything,
they just call it something else.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
Yeah, they'll say, you know, they got lost or some vanishing act,
or they'll give it some of their name.
Yeah, no, I know exactly what you mean.
And it's a shame it has to be that way.
You know, it's, you wonder what the last five people that have lived there in the last two years,
what they think and what they've seen in order for them to run out of that place, you know?
And so I'm just glad you were able to come on, Bob.
I thank you for coming on and talking to them.
And, you know, hopefully if they light that place up,
hopefully they'll just back off.
They'll back off of the property, I'm hoping.
They probably will.
Like I said, nine times out of ten, you know, it takes a little bit of effort.
But it does.
It would be better if the males, you know, if the men were, you know,
there all the time.
But, of course, they can't be for work.
So, you know, I think it probably worked for them.
They just have to want to do it.
They just have to, you know, know, know what they want to do.
Stay there, go through it, or, you know, move into town.
Yeah.
No, I couldn't agree more.
Well, Bob, thank you for coming on the show.
No problem, Wes.
I'm always happy to do it.
And I'm glad you asked me.
Oh, yeah, the fans love it.
I love it when you come on.
on, everyone loves it.
So thank you again for being here.
Thank you, Wes.
I appreciate it.
You have a good day, buddy.
Thanks, Bob.
And I want to welcome Chas and Kelly to the show.
There are two police officers out in the Midwest
in a major metropolitan area.
We'll leave the area's secret for now.
And welcome to the show, Chas.
Welcome to the show, Kelly.
I appreciate you guys being here tonight.
Thanks.
Glad to be here.
Thank you.
And if you guys will,
How did you guys actually get into this?
Prior to actually, and we'll go into the video, I'll explain the video to the audience,
but prior to all of that, how did you guys actually get into this?
Well, I'll tell you, it was interesting.
About a year ago, Chaz and I were partnered up.
We worked the streets together.
You know, we spent 10 hours a day together, cooped up in a car,
answering calls for service throughout the city that we serve.
And so we get to talk about a lot of stuff,
but I was reading at the time
I was reading these missing
4-1-1 books
by Randy or David Politis
and I loaned one to Chaz
and he started reading it and it just kind of
snowballed from there. I mean we both
had similar interests
you know in
Sasquatch and all the
you know we're always online trying to find
the latest news, greatest
information and then
Chas started telling me stories about
a property that he grew up, spending a lot of time on with his uncle.
Jads, do you want to go ahead and kind of hit that part?
Yeah.
Well, you know, after I started reading some of these 4-1-1 books that kind of opened my eyes
because I never believed in Sasquatch before that, I thought it was just kind of silly.
But then, you know, Kelly gave me the books.
I started reading them.
And, I mean, the guy that writes the books, he's prior law enforcement too.
So I kind of took his word, you know, more than just some guy on YouTube.
Um, started making me think about all the times I was out in the woods at my uncles.
Now, uh, my uncle owns property about three hours south of where we're at.
And, uh, probably the last 20 years, you know, every couple weekends I'd drive down there and, uh, we'd work on my uncle's cabin.
Been doing that, you know, since I've been a teenager.
Well, I started thinking about some of the stories that I've, you know, had out in the woods.
And, uh, I guess the first one was when I was about.
about maybe 18 or 19.
My girlfriend and I, we were down there with my uncle, and we decided to go on a nature walk.
And there's a large hiking trail near where we're at.
So we started hiking on it, and it should only take us maybe two hours through this whole hike.
Well, we got lost.
Somehow we got off the path.
I think we started falling like a deer trail.
Completely got lost.
We were probably out in the woods for about six hours.
But I remember while we were stuck on this path, we were way out in the middle of the woods.
I remember hearing this weird scream, and it sounded like a woman.
It was like a woman screaming, but it sounded like an animal was making the sound, if that makes sense.
So I remember I went back when we finally found our way.
We actually ran into a highway, so we hitchhiked back and finally got back to my uncle's cabin.
and, you know, no one believed us that we were lost, you know, they thought we were just being silly.
But, you know, I told everybody about the sound.
I go, I think maybe we should go back and investigate, and I think there might be a lady on the path somewhere that needs help.
And they're like, no, they go, that's just a coyote.
You know, what you heard was just a coyote.
I'm like, well, I go, you guys would know better than me, I guess.
But I just remember it stuck in my mind because I was so concerned that it was actually.
I mean, it sounded like an animal, but a woman at the same time.
And then I had another story.
This was probably a couple years after that.
I was probably about, I don't know, 23, 24.
I was into all the survival shows, you know, Survivor Man and Man vs. Wild.
I dig all those shows.
I read a couple books.
So I like being out in the wild, so I was like, maybe I'll try to do one of these challenges myself
with some of my family members down at my uncle's cabin.
So a bunch of us agreed, and we kind of made it into a competition.
We were going to go out there and do this man versus wild, you know, see who could do the best at surviving out on the property.
So we schemed up, you know, a point system and all this.
And so we went out.
It was supposed to be probably about 70 degrees.
We planned on nice weather.
Well, the day that we went down, a front came through.
Weather dropped, and it was like mid-40s.
It was freezing cold.
We weren't planning on it either
So everybody backed out
Except for me and my brother
So
We still went through it
We went out there
I got a little plot
I made a shelter
Started my fire
But it was so cold
Like
You know
I'd spoon my fire all night
I was so cold
You know
I even caught my pants on fire
One time
I was just so cold
You know
I had like 15 minutes
And do jumping jacks
There was no sleeping that night
I mean I was free
and cold. I remember the moon was out. It was really bright. Now, there have been sightings of
cougars on the property, so we both had one rifle with one round just for self-protection.
So we're out there. I'm not sleeping. Nights going for, I mean, taken forever. I go inside my
shelter that I made. My shelter that I made was a tarp, and I shoved leaves. The leaves already
dropped from the trees. So I shoved as many leaves as I could underneath this huge tarp.
thinking that the leaves would kind of insulate my body heat and I'd be able to sleep in there.
Well, it really didn't work at all.
It was freezing cold.
But I crawled in there and I tried to take a little cat nap.
And I remember hearing something.
Now, I cleared all the leaves from probably a good 20, 30 feet around me.
And where I was, it was right on a bluff.
I was thinking that if I could be on the bluff, I could actually kill maybe a deer in the morning,
while I woke up and was eating something.
and I'd win this whole survival challenge.
I'd be the baddest, you know, mofo on the property, you know.
So I'm there on a bluff, you know, underneath a tarp with all the leaves and there's insulation.
And I hear from a good 15, 20 feet away someone walking towards my shelter while I'm in it.
Now, my brother and I already knew that no one was going to come out of the cabin,
and he and I were not going to walk near each other at all because we both had right of.
rifles. So we knew already not to walk towards each other. So the whole time I'm in my little
shelter and I'm like, why is my brother walking towards me? He knows I have a shotgun. Like,
what is he doing? So I hear the footsteps and they come closer and closer until it's standing,
whatever it is, is standing right next to my little shelter, probably within, you know, a foot or
two of where I'm at. And the way it kind of approached, I felt like it was curious. Whatever it was,
was curious and it was looking at my shelter.
I was scared to death.
I grabbed my shotgun.
I already had one racked.
I took the safety off.
I sat there and I just pointed the shotgun at that direction.
I was just waiting for, you know,
whatever kind of wildlife that was to come through.
If it was some kind of a predator
and it was going to come through this flimsy little tarp,
I was going to blast it and I only had one shot.
And the whole time I'm thinking in my mind,
I go, it has to be my brother,
because the way it was walking.
So I waited there for a while.
Finally, I heard it turn around and it walked off.
It only took like maybe three steps, maybe four,
and then I couldn't hear it at all.
And where I was on this bluff,
there was so much loose rock.
I could hear someone walking from 100 feet away.
So I didn't know if this thing just took like three steps and stopped
and was just waiting there for me.
I had no idea.
I was still scared.
So I stayed in my shelter for another five minutes with my rifle.
or my shotgun pointing that direction.
After about five minutes, I got the guts to get out of my shelter, and I didn't see anything.
So, you know, at this point, I never believed in Sasquatch or anything, so I just suck it up,
and I told myself, I know it was big, whatever it was big, you know, I was like, maybe it was a deer.
It had to have been a deer, because it was huge.
So I just told myself, it was a deer and went on.
But now looking back on, I mean, a deer doesn't walk that way.
I mean, it definitely walked, and it sounded like a human.
I was 100% convinced it was my brother.
And those are pretty much the two stories that I had prior to all this.
Hey, Chas, now, maybe I got this wrong,
but didn't you and your brother get together like just a few weeks ago
and start talking?
And didn't he have the exact same thing happen to him that night?
Yeah, so, yeah, that day, so I finally found some,
when the sun came up, I found a little spot where the sun was shining on
the property, so I stood in the sunshine, and I actually fell asleep. I fell asleep in this little
ravine. Well, my brother started hiking down the hill, too, and he ran into him, and he thought
I was dead laying there in the grass. But he woke me up, and I was like, man, that was tough.
I go, it was cold. I didn't sleep at all. We started talking about it. He said that he actually
had something walk around his little shelter also, and he was on the opposite side of the property than I was.
but he was at the top of the ridge line.
So he was higher in elevation than I was.
But he said something walked around his shelter,
walked around it, and then walked off.
So I'm assuming whatever that was,
probably walked towards his shelter first
and then walked over and probably investigated mine, whatever it was.
Let me ask you, Chas.
What did you think it was?
I mean, at the time, I was like, well, it has to be a deer
because this thing is huge.
I mean, it's big.
It's at least the same size.
as my brother.
But I think whatever it was,
had a large stride, too,
to the way it walked.
And it walked like a human.
Yeah.
No, and that would definitely
creep me out,
especially being in that situation
when you got one round.
I mean, God,
that would terrify me.
Do you have bears in that area?
Yeah, but I've never seen one.
And you tend to know,
when you're in those situations,
you tend to know right away
if it's a bear or not.
You can just kind of tell when something's upright walking around
and when something's on four legs.
You know what I mean?
You would have kind of known if it was a cougar.
You would have kind of known if it was a bear.
And if a bear or cougar or any other predator,
known predator, is going to come in on you guys like that.
If they have the nuts to walk in on you guys like that,
you guys are going to have an altercation.
I don't care what anyone says.
They may come in, but they're not coming in for curiosity.
Cougar's not going to come in for curiosity.
a bear is not, generally speaking, a bear is not going to come in for curiosity.
They're coming in for food.
They're coming in for survival.
And so it's interesting.
What about you, Kelly?
What got you into this?
Well, you know, hearing the stories that Chas had talked about, you know, kind of motivated us, you know, to look into this even more.
You know, Chaz's uncle still has this property.
It's in a part of the state where there's,
There are a lot of sightings, you know, both type A, type B, whatever you want to call it.
You know, and I tell you, I don't want to make it sound like we're just, you know, going to hype your program, Wes.
But, you know, we just sat down and we listened to as many stories as we could from the interviews that you've done.
And basically, all we did was started gathering, you know, what are telltell signs, what are commonalities that we're seeing when folks go out or when they have encounters.
And we're like, you know what, let's do this.
Let's put this together like, almost like a crime scene.
Let's go out to this place and spend our day.
Had we not listened to your program and all the different people,
we wouldn't have a clue where to start, man.
We would have walked by so much stuff.
So we got together.
We got a four-day weekend set up.
And Chaz got with his uncle and said, hey, we want to come down and spend some time at your cabin.
And we were straight up with him.
This is why we're coming down.
We want to check out the, you know, the rumors of the, the, the, the,
woods that go around in that area.
And, you know, there's stories that go back for, you know, years and years in the Midwest and
in the Ozarks.
So his uncle goes down a couple days before us.
And, Chas, I don't want to speak out of turn.
Your uncle told you directly some of the things that happened while he was waiting
for us to show up.
Do you want to touch on that a little bit?
Yeah.
So I talked to my uncle and he said that he goes, something interesting happened.
last night. He goes, he and his brother laid down in the cabin and went to bed and they were
awakened by a loud sound. He says that something large walked behind the cabin. At the same time,
this big, whatever it was was walking behind the cabin, making a lot of noise. Something ran
through the, I believe, the front of the cabin and somehow jumped onto his front deck. Now, the
the way the cabin set up, it kind of faces down the hill.
So the front part where the deck is, is pretty high up off the ground.
There is one tree on the side of the deck that kind of is slanted and like diagonal.
That's the only way any kind of animal could get up on the deck.
So the way my uncle said, he said that whatever it was that was behind the house,
he believes whatever that big thing was, was chasing a smaller animal.
and when he says smaller, he says whatever it was that jumped onto the deck at the same time,
he says it weighed between 70 and 100 pounds, you think.
So, I mean, it wasn't like a raccoon.
It was something big.
He said whatever was on the front deck, though, he believed had padded feet.
He couldn't tell me why.
He just said it had padded feet.
But he made it sound like whatever was in the back of the cabin chasing whatever jumped on the front of the deck,
you know, it was a predator chasing something.
So we're like, oh, that's interesting.
I go, did your brother hear this?
He goes, oh, yeah.
He goes, my brother woke up.
We both woke up out of bed.
Kelly and I started driving south towards his cab,
and we're pretty excited to hear something like that
when we're going to go start looking for Sasquatch, you know.
I can definitely imagine.
So you guys go out to, and I appreciate Kelly,
the kind words on the show.
I definitely appreciate that.
I want to address it.
I thank you so much for the kind of words on the show.
So you guys go out, was it on this property?
Is where you guys started finding all this evidence?
I mean, I think you guys got some great evidence.
Well, I kind of tell you how it played out.
So we went down there and, you know, we told my uncle a little more,
hey, you know, this is what we're planning on doing,
tried to set up a game plan and how we wanted to go on, you know, a couple hikes.
So he pulled out two maps and he goes, look at this map right here.
He goes, this gray shaded area right here, he goes, if you go into the park, take this hiking trail and then cut into this gray area.
This is where nothing has been logged.
No one ever goes in this area.
He called it the Old Woods area.
Never been logged very wild and old.
I go, all right, so we'll try that first.
So we went to the park, hiked, you know, a couple miles down this trail until we,
got to this area. And I guess that's where it kind of all started. We started cutting into this
old woods type area. And then instantly, you know, as we're descending this big hill in this
area that my uncle showed us on the map, Kelly starts telling me he goes, dude, I think
something's following us. Yeah. I mean, it's, um, there for a while, we really didn't see anything.
But when we were in the actual walking area of this park, and you got to understand his,
his uncle's land butts right up to the park.
So we kind of went back and forth onto the state or federal property back into his uncle's property,
just kind of zigzag back and forth.
So while we were in the park of the park, it was just pretty normal.
But when we got out of the park area and we got into that area that was notated on the map
and that his uncle called the old woods.
I mean, it was like night and day, Wes.
I mean, the feeling was just like, hey,
we just crossed over into something different.
I mean, the force got really quiet.
There wasn't a lot of, you know,
how squirrels are always running around making all kinds of noise.
There was no squirrels.
And I just really kept hearing something behind us.
And, I mean, we even stopped and sat for a while and just listened.
Many times you just get going so much, you kind of miss things.
So we made a point to make sure that we stopped, took a knee, and just listened, even smelled, and just looked around to see if we had anything.
And I had a video camera with me, and I had that thing going all the time.
I didn't want to miss anything.
That's what you see in the video that we made that you posted.
The very first thing we came up to was Chaz actually found it was the rock formation that was just so peculiar.
It just stood out.
It just didn't make any sense to us at all.
And the more we looked at it, it got even more peculiar with some of the stuff that we found in it.
But we definitely almost, it was like an imaginary boundary.
We went from that park area to this old woods.
and as we went into the woods,
we increased an elevation up to about 1,400 feet,
and it was pretty damn creepy.
I'm not going to lie to you.
We could definitely tell that we had crossed from one place into another
where nobody else had been.
There was no logging going on up there.
There was no signs of any human activity in this area at all.
And that's pretty much where everything just started to fall right out in front of us.
All the tree breaks that we saw,
all the rock formations and then that huge structure, you know, towards the end of the video that we show.
I mean, it was all really contained in this area that is known as the old woods.
It was pretty incredible.
Yeah, and for those who haven't seen the video, will you talk about that rock formation, what you guys found in there?
Tell the audience about what you saw and talk about that whole area that you saw that rock formation and what you found in it.
Well, Chas had gone forward a little bit ahead of me, and we kept about 30 meters between us, but we kept each other in sight.
But he signaled to me that he had found something, and I came over to him.
And there was a lot of bluffs and a lot of cliffs in the woods.
You know, when you go down into a ravine or down into an old creek area, lots, it's surrounded by bluffs and overhangs and what have you.
And Chaz had found a formation of rocks under this overworked.
overhang, this rock overhang.
And it was almost appeared, well, it did appear that it was something that was built.
This wasn't something that happened naturally.
It was too high up to be something left over from maybe a creek flood or something like that.
But it was large rocks.
And if you know Missouri and the Ozarks, I mean, there's, you know, there's limestone and there's
different types of rocks, huge rocks everywhere.
It's just part of the landscape.
There were rocks that were placed purposely to make almost it look like a box with one end that was open.
And it had a top, a rock that probably would weigh what three to 400 pounds, a rock on either side.
And it made almost a perfect box.
And we looked at that and we're like, man, this is so odd.
And there was a rock that was laying on the ground that appeared that you could actually.
flip that rock up on its end and you would actually enclose a box about the size of, you know, maybe a cradle or something like a baby's crib or something like that. So we took our camera and we looked deep into the box and we didn't really see anything out of the ordinary except there was two grape stems. And these weren't berry stems because we looked really close and we compared them to the berries around in the area. These were, where they were,
without a doubt grape stems. You know, when you go to the grocery store, you buy a bag,
and you throw them in a Ziploc bag, take them on a camping trip with you or something. You know,
kids eat them and they throw the stems around. This is exactly what it looked like. It looked
like some stems that were left over after, you know, my kids, you know, ate a bag of grapes
or something like that. But they were inside of this little box. And that was the very first thing
that we came across, and it was pretty perplexing.
I thought one of the things that it might be is it could actually be a place where a mama Sasquatch would maybe put its child there and close it and keep it safe while it maybe went out hunting or doing anything for the day.
What do you think, Jazz?
I mean, you're the one that came across it first.
I was completely puzzled actually at first when I saw it.
I'm like, you know, this, how is this right here in the middle of the woods?
There's no way someone hiked all the way out here and made this.
First thing I said, I go, Kelly, look at this.
I go, this is man made.
And then after I said, this man made, I kind of thought to myself, I mean, what man would come out here and make something like this?
Plus, these are heavy rocks.
I go, you know, Kelly and I are in pretty good shape.
And there's no way that we could build something like that.
No way.
So I kind of looked at it, and it looked like a cage or a box, you know.
And I just keep looking.
at it and I'm trying to find other excuses for it other than something built it.
So I'm looking at the bluff that it's underneath and I'm like, well, you know, if it's a rock that
fell from the bluff, you could probably fit the pieces together like a puzzle. So I'm looking at
the bluff looking for like open spots where this rock would have fallen from. There's no matches.
I mean, the bluff is all smooth. It doesn't match the bluff at all. So I was completely
perplexed. I mean, I knew something was in there. Some kind of animal was in this shelter or box
and something was eating some kind of berries or grapes, you know. And that's really what I thought, too,
when I saw it. And I'll post a video. It's on Sasquatch Chronicles.com. But under this episode,
I'll point your guys' video. And I thought the same thing, too, guys. When I saw it, I was like,
most people don't realize how heavy those rocks are. I mean, you're talking to an old floor covering guy.
and I see those as like
I used to see a lot of guys
do tile, I used to see a lot of guys
and I know how heavy that stuff is
and I looked at those rocks
and again I'm a pretty big guy
and I looked at those rocks and I thought
I don't see anyone making this
I mean it just doesn't make sense
why someone would make something like this
and then when you guys had the grape stems inside
I was like
ah I'd be careful in that area guys
I'd be really really really really careful
in that area. What did you guys do next?
So you find this you find this structure
and then what do you guys do next?
Well, you know, when we found that structure, we looked at as much as we possibly could.
We took as many pictures as we could, video, and then we decided, you know, we want to continue up higher elevation.
And I went ahead and went straight up, and Chaz kind of stayed there for a moment.
Because, Wes, we really started hearing a lot of activity around us, and I don't mean like squirrels or deer.
we heard some really loud noises.
Something coming through the, I mean, it sounded like something very big coming through the,
through the woods, but it was above us.
It was a higher elevation, and it wasn't just from one place.
It was from two different places.
So I went up about maybe 50 feet higher in elevation, and I found a tree, a couple
trees that were real close together, and I just kind of slipped in between those,
and took my camera, and I could pretty much see everything around me down into the valley
where we had just found this little box.
And so, Chaz, I mean, you're probably going to shake your head when you hear this.
Chaz says, well, okay, I'm going to go be a decoy.
I'm going to be the bait, and you sit here and see if you can film anything.
So Chaz starts walking around in a huge circle in this area trying to spook up or, you know,
to get something to come out of the brush,
whatever is around us.
And, man, I tell you, it was almost aware of everything Chas did,
because when Chaz would move around to my left or whatever,
this thing would go around the total opposite end of him,
it stayed on the opposite side of Chaz the entire time,
just out of my camera range.
But, I mean, it was huge.
and one of the things that I thought was real peculiar
and I thought it was Chaz
maybe just talking under his breath
maybe he fell and said something
but I could hear people
or a person mumbling
it was a human sounding
couldn't make out the words
but every once in a while I would hear some mumbling
and I just at the time I just thought
well that's Chas he's
falling and he's you know he's cussing at himself
or whatever
and then
right after that
a squirrel, this is really weird, a squirrel started going crazy.
I mean, you know how squirrels are when they get all agitated, you know.
And this squirrel was probably 30, 40 feet away from me.
I couldn't see it, but I could hear it.
And it was just going crazy, just chirping and jumping around on the tree.
And then all of a sudden, in my mind's eye, I could visualize it because it was out of my sight.
It sounded like someone had reached up and grabbed the squirrel and squeezed the,
to death.
I mean, it just went almost, it made this sound like,
just like that.
It's like something grabbed it and just,
and immediately it stopped.
Never heard the squirrel again.
And that really freaked me out
because I could just picture it in my head
that something just grabbed a squirrel
and squeezed it to death so it had shut up.
And then I stayed in that position
without moving, except for my camera,
for probably a good two hours
as Chas made his way around me
in a 360-degree circumference,
and we're just trying to get something to come out,
something to move,
and it was,
it literally would position itself opposite to wherever
Chaz was, plus out of my range to do any video.
I mean, this, it was so bizarre, I don't know.
And Chas, you heard a couple things that also,
that you thought was me.
Can you elaborate on that a little bit, too?
Yeah, I guess I should also tell,
Once we got off the walking path and we went into the old woods, I leaned up against a tree and I was right into a little nest of ticks.
So I had hundreds of ticks all over me.
So once we started going through the old woods part, I was more frustrated than anything because I'm hot and sweaty.
All I'm doing is picking ticks off me.
Kelly and I are walking through the woods and I'm picking ticks off.
I mean, I have hundreds of them.
And they started on my forearm.
And by the time we got to the bluff and saw the stone structure, you know, they spread to, you know, my belly and my side too.
I mean, they were just spreading everywhere.
So I'm freaking out and, you know, kind of frustrated.
A lot of the time when Kelly was up on just higher than where the stone structure was, where he heard these things.
And I heard them too.
I personally thought they were deer at the time.
I go, Kelly's just listening to deer.
And I'm frustrated.
You know, I'm picking ticks off myself.
So I sit by the stone structure and I'm just picking ticks off, you know, for a good hour.
And I'm listening and I'm like, you know, we need to speed this up.
We're running out of light.
This hike was only supposed to take, you know, maybe three or four hours and we've already doubled that, you know, in time.
We didn't really bring food to eat, not much water.
So I'm frustrated.
So I'm like, I'm going to go flush these deer or whatever he's listening to.
And I'm going to scare the animals and have them just run.
run towards Kelly, then we can verify that it's, you know, not a saskwatch and get out
here.
And that's so when that's what I did.
I walked all way down the creek bed.
I walked up.
And all I heard were turkey.
I mean, you know, they were all, whatever was out there walking that I thought were deer
never ran from the area.
And that's when Kelly said, you know, every time I would walk one way, whatever it was would
go to like a different area and just avoid me.
Yeah, I always say ape and I know I push the ape thing a lot.
But this isn't some dumb monkey running around.
You know, it had, it probably looked at your camera, Kelly, as a weapon.
It was probably keeping one eye on you and one eye on Chaz as he's moving around.
But was it, did you guys finally decide to just leave the area?
And that's when he found all the tree structures.
Well, let me back up then.
So while Kelly was up there trying to look at the sounds that he was hearing on the other side of this hill,
after I tried flushing whatever was out and it didn't work,
I went back to the stone structure again.
I sat there.
Well, what of the structure is, you know,
there's about a 50-foot-long bluff that the structure was underneath
and a lot of loose rock on top of it.
I mean, there's no way to walk on that and be quiet.
Well, I heard Kelly walk from where he was across that ridge line and towards me.
He was maybe 15 feet behind me, it sounded like,
and, you know, just a little higher than where I was.
I'm like, okay, Kelly decided to leave that little post and we're going to head on.
So I walked down to the bottom of the creek bed and kind of wait for him down there thinking he's heading my way.
Well, I sit on a rock and I wait for another 30 minutes and I'm like, you know, I thought I heard him walking right behind me.
What's he doing?
So I walk around the bluff again.
I walk up and Kelly's still against the same tree.
He's been against the whole time.
And I'm signaling to him.
I'm like, hey, you know, we're running out of light.
We need to head out of here.
So we finally do.
We head out and, you know, we head up the hill.
And that's when we start finding some of the structures and the tree breaks.
But as I'm talking to Kelly about the tree breaks and when we're standing next to tree breaks,
I go, you know, why do you walk towards the bluff and decide to leave and then go back to the spot?
Kelly goes, man, I've been leaning against that tree the whole time and I never moved.
And I'm like, what do you mean you never moved?
I go, you walked towards me.
You were like 15, 20 feet from me.
I know you were.
I listened to you walk towards me.
He's like, man, I was against that tree the whole time.
No, in a matter of fact, I could see, Chas, when he was, like, he did that, you know, he stopped and waited for me, what he thought was me.
I was looking down to bluff, you know, from down into the ravine at him.
He was probably 150, 200 meters away from me.
I could see him down there.
And I was like, and I was like, what is he doing?
I mean, we're burning up daylight here.
And actually, he was thinking that I was walking towards him when I was up in this tree, just watching him.
It would have been a great time to get something on video, but nothing ever happened.
But, yeah, there was something out there definitely.
It was intelligent.
It knew where we were, what we were doing.
And we were in its area, without a doubt.
It was interesting.
And then we move on after we realized, you know, that there was all this stuff going on.
And so we really started all of a sudden just started coming across all these tree breaks.
And they were massive.
I mean, they were really high up maybe four or five feet, sometimes even higher.
And these are thick trees you can see in the video.
There's no tool marks on the trees.
It's not like, you know, someone worked on it, you know.
I mean, and we look, we brought, you know, cops.
eyes to this evidence, if you want to call it. I mean, we looked at every angle. What could have
happened? How could have this happened? Was it storms? Was it wind? Was it, you know, heavy ice or
snow on something? I mean, there's just no explanation how these trees could have snapped off where
they did with limited amount of evidence to show what exerted that type of force to break these
trees off. And these trees were still alive on the ground. You can see in the video,
you know the leaves are still you know green as these trees are laying down so i i had a compass
with me and i thought you know what i'm starting to notice something i went back to each and every
tree that we had found every tree break and every tree break the tree was pointed in the exact
compass heading that every every tree break we found was in the same compass heading i think it was like
47 degrees or something like i can't remember what it was but that was probably the
most bizarre thing and I saw the whole deal.
And that one thing was like, well, maybe it is weather, but there was no other trees around us
that were broken off.
So it was very peculiar.
So we decided, hey, let's, we've kind of created a, almost a perimeter of tree breaks.
Let's go to the very top area of these overwoods, the very highest point.
And that's where we found that big, huge structure that was built.
and that thing was so
dynamic and so
intertwined and so detailed
I'm sorry nobody could ever convince me
that that was a act of nature
or wind or weather
or anything because
it was a structure that incorporated a tree break
a double tree break actually
and that thing was amazing in of itself
and that's where we ended up finishing up
and pretty much started to lose light
Hey, Chas, there was something else, too?
Didn't you hear some voices as well when we were out there?
You were thinking I was above you walking?
After we saw, I think, our second tree break,
I think I actually heard a female's voice.
I just kind of assumed that we were close to someone's private property at the time.
It's always strange when you're out there.
And it's, you know, people are going to be interested.
This is, you know, these are two cops.
You guys are two cops on the show.
but you guys aren't the first police officers I've had on this show.
And believe it or not, a lot of people listen to it.
And I love to hear cops going out investigating this because you guys kind of sometimes
look at it with a different eye.
I like what you're saying, Kelly, hey, is this weather damage?
Is this, you know, is it this?
Is it that?
You know, you come to the conclusion that it's not.
The voices are strange, aren't they?
You hear what you think are people talking, but you can't quite make it out.
Or like you were saying, Kelly, you hear the mumbling and you think it's changed.
and you can't quite make out what he's saying.
Yeah, that was pretty perplexing.
I mean, I could hear it.
It was mumbling.
And I've listened to all the different, you know,
stuff that's on YouTube and the different, you know,
the different sites that are out there.
And none of it sounded like,
it just sounded like a grown adult male,
just maybe talking really low to somebody else.
But it was very close, and it was, you know,
It wasn't something that, you know, there was a long way away that maybe traveled through the, you know, the valley or whatever.
But it was very close.
And, you know, Chaz, you know, he said, no, I kept, you know, noise discipline down to the, you know, the best I could.
I didn't talk or anything like that.
And neither did I.
So I think what it comes down to is, is we have found an area where there is activity.
I think, Wes, you looked at the video and you agreed, hey, this is probably a, you.
a pretty good area that we could keep looking at.
Were those guys that are wandering around in the woods that want nothing more than to have a siding,
and then you have your other folks that are on your show that wish they'd never had a siding.
So we're in that group of folks that are still out there wandering around trying to find it,
and we're getting ready to go back out here when winter hits.
We're hoping to have some snow on the ground and maybe help us get some more evidence of something
them moving around there in the woods.
So that's basically where we're at right now.
Yeah, and I tend to agree with you, guys.
I really think it is an area where there is Sasquatch.
I was especially interested in the rock formation,
but the moment I saw the tree breaks,
I knew you guys had an area.
Those tree breaks,
there's no way, on 99% of those tree breaks,
there's no way a human could do it.
That's not weather damage.
I've seen weather damage.
I'm sure you guys have, too.
you guys have been on the woods a lot.
It's not weather damage.
And it's interesting, too, I was going to ask you where all the brakes kind of pointed
in the general same direction.
Let me ask you, when you guys were, when you saw those tree breaks and they were all pointed
in that general direction, was that the same direction where you found that rock formation?
It is.
You know what?
It's actually in direct line with where the rock formation was.
Well, the other thing I'd say to you guys, when you're in that area, is be very, very
careful in that area.
I think you're probably going to run into a family group.
I'm just theorizing and guessing, but I'm thinking you guys will probably run into a family
group in that area just based on everything you've told me, everything I've seen in the video.
I think your guess, Kelly, on what that rock formation is, I would agree with you 100%.
I think that's exactly what it is, especially finding the grapes in there.
And you're right.
It does, if people watch the video, it does look like a little pin, does it.
it? Like you'd put something in there to, but it's small. I don't know that my dog could fit in there.
Yeah, and I tell you, when I came home and I showed it to my wife, and I was still on the, you know, on the, just not sure what I was looking at and not sure what that was.
And as soon as my wife saw it, and believe me, she's, you know, she couldn't be less interested in Sasquatch or Bigfoot or any of that stuff.
you know, sometimes wives roll their eyes at their husbands with little hobbies that they do.
But she looked at it and she goes, well, that's a, sweetie, that's a crib.
I can tell.
I mean, it's obvious that's a crib.
And she's not even a believer.
I mean, it's like she saw it and she knew exactly what she thought it was.
So, I mean, that made a believer out of us.
And, you know, we're going to keep going and we're going to keep listening to your show
and just, you know, making a detailed list of commonalities that people are seeing.
and we're going to look for that stuff and we're trying to collect evidence.
And, you know, we just, we wouldn't be where we are right now had we not listened to you and your show and everything you've done.
So, man, we appreciate all the hard work you do.
And I had one bad comment on there about the video.
And it just pissed me off.
And I'm thinking, man, I bet West gets more criticism through people.
How do you put up with this kind of stuff?
But, you know, we're going to be vindicated someday because I think it's just a matter of time before this thing is somebody gets the evidence that is going to be necessary to convince the naysayers and all the folks out there that, you know, don't even give this any credence or any time, that there is a undocumented primate walking around in North America and is very intelligent and is hiding.
And it's just a matter of time before we come across it.
The criticism is hard to deal with.
It really is, guys.
I know what you mean.
All the 100 nice comments and then I'll have one jerk on there that'll, and that's the one I focus on.
You know, the 99 others, you focus on the negative.
So you just kind of have to get past that.
And any evidence, I honestly, guys, I think the video you guys put together was probably
one of the best videos I've seen hands down as far as tree breaks, some of the best I've ever seen.
And I would just be careful.
And I appreciate the kind of words on the show.
and I appreciate you guys coming on the show and sharing.
Just be really, really careful in that area.
You know, treat it the same way you would as if you guys knew a grizzly bear cub was laying down on a ridge line.
Mama's probably not too far away.
And so just treat it like you would a grizzly bear in the area.
That's really the best advice I'd give you going back.
I think you guys do have a hot area.
I really do.
I think you guys have a great area.
And it probably wouldn't shock me if you called me in the next.
60 days and told me about a sighting.
Absolutely, man.
And we've got, you know, I've talked to other people that are familiar with the area.
A couple folks from the, you know, BFRO.
They've heard a lot of vocalizations.
A lot of folks have actually done expeditions from the BFRO into that area
because they know it's a hot area.
And they've said themselves that they believe there is a constant presence there,
not a migration type thing just because there's so much food there so much deer turkey
there's just you know there's a plenty of you know food sources out there so it's true and
we're going to you know we're going to do our best to to get out there and get some
we're approaching this as a crime scene I mean we're looking at this when we step into the woods
you know we're in a crime scene and we need to look for every piece of evidence that we can
possibly get. And whatever you can give us, brother, we will take because, you know, we're
focused on this, and I hope it doesn't come down to the point where, you know, we're being interviewed
a month from now and poor chas is in the ground because he got his head ripped off by Sasquatch.
Yeah, I hear you. You know, it's funny with these things. I've had witnesses that
have had cameras, and the moment they pull cameras out, everything kind of.
scatters. All the vocalization stop. They stop coming around. They start coming in close.
And I don't know if they're seeing the camera as a weapon or just something in your hand.
I mean, that thermal and that tent idea I was telling you guys, it's money because I know they can't see inside of a trash bag.
You know, the big hefty black plastic bags, cut a bunch of them up, make a little tent, make a little visual spot.
With the thermal, they can't hide.
even during the day, it's hard for them to hide
because you can pick up pretty big heat signatures off those things.
Yeah, no, absolutely.
There was something else I wanted to ask you.
I can't think of.
I got a question why you're trying to think of that.
I know a lot of animals, they'll track by scent.
Do we have any indication that they use scent to, you know, track anything down or anything?
I'm thinking if we're going to play a decoy tent,
and this is where it sounds kind of odd, but it was just an idea.
I've got two young daughters.
I could get some of their dirty clothes and like set it out so their scent is out there also.
I don't know if that's a silly idea or if anybody's even tried something like that.
No, that's a valid question.
I don't know that anyone's really tried that.
I don't know that it's so much, I would assume a portion of it is your scent.
I would definitely assume a portion of that is.
But, you know, I've had witnesses on the show where almost like the one person on the property doesn't really get any aggression.
But when they bring people on the property, those people get the aggression.
And I don't know if it's because it knows you, it sees you, it realizes it's seen you before.
It kind of knows your pattern.
it might be a little bit of sight, it might be a little bit of scent too as well.
You don't realize how much you stink when you go in the woods.
You go out hunting for two or three weeks, and then you have someone come in from the city,
and you can smell them.
You can smell them just from being out there.
You know, your senses go a lot higher, and you can smell the gasoline, you can smell
perfume, you can smell the deodorant.
You can just smell them.
and I would imagine it's the same with these things.
When you guys are out there, there is a scent,
but I think some of it might be,
I think they're more intelligent than just scent.
Obviously, it was watching you guys.
It was watching to see what you guys would do,
and it was watching Chas as he's walking around in a circle,
probably had its eye on you the whole time too, Kelly,
watching what you're going to do.
And there was probably more than one.
It probably just wasn't one.
There was probably more than one watching you guys.
And so you go back in the air,
area, and this is just my theory, I think they probably know you from seeing you.
I think they probably, I'd be real careful in that area, though, guys.
I'd be really, really careful in that area because I think watching your guys' video,
I think you guys really stumbled into something.
I agree.
I agree.
And, you know, this video, to me, that happened within the last 90 days.
I don't think this was something that happened, you know, a year or two ago, and it's still just laying over.
I mean, this is, this was fresh.
There's something going on there, and we're going back, man.
We're going to do what we can.
Yeah, and I appreciate having you guys on.
You do a phenomenal job, man.
We spend, you know, 10 hours a day in the car, you know, answer calls for service and stuff.
But when we have time down, we're on your website, dude, and we're listening to the newest, latest,
greatest and we just love the shit out of your show, man. We got a big old man crush on you.
Yeah. I appreciate that, guys. I appreciate that very much. Yeah, Wes, I'm still kind of a little
bit of a skeptic. You know, I believe like 51% sure, you know, there's probably a Sasquatch. I'm still
pretty kind of on the fence, but I'm leaning more towards they're real. But the way that you
show these stories and not try to interject, you just let people tell the story how it is. You know,
that's how Kelly and I do our investigations too.
You know, we have to let people tell the whole story, and you can see the truth in there.
And you can tell when people tell the truth.
So I appreciate the way that you let people just tell the truth.
I appreciate that, man.
Yeah, it's, you know, I could interject all day long, but like I always say, it's the guest show.
It's not my show.
Because when the guests come on, you know, you got to let him talk.
You can't interject too much with your own.
your own opinion on the subject.
Because, you know, sometimes people,
and you guys know this from being police officers,
when you start interjecting,
all of a sudden the story starts changing a little bit.
You know, their perception,
and then all of a sudden you get the impression
they're telling you what you want to hear
as opposed to what actually happened.
And you'd rather just hear what happened
than what you really want to hear
because what you want to hear at the end of the day
is irrelevant.
And so I appreciate that, man.
Yeah, a lot goes into the show.
And I appreciate you guys listening.
And I really hope you guys.
And again, Chaz, it's good to be skeptical.
I like going out with skeptics.
They're my favorite people.
Be honest with you.
I'd go out with three skeptics before I'd ever go out with three, quote-unquote,
Bigfoot experts.
Because the skeptics will keep you in check.
If you find something and you immediately think it's Bigfoot,
because you've seen them and you know they're real,
it's always a skeptic that goes,
well, you know what, it could be this, or it could have been weather, or it could have been that.
And then you kind of have to stop and look at it and go, you know what, he's right.
It could be this or it could be that.
And so I like skeptics.
I think they're great.
I think, honestly, Chaz, if you guys keep going into that area, I would say in the next probably 60 to 90 days,
you guys will be telling me about some encounter of this thing stepping out in front of you or growling at you.
But in that area, please, please, please, guys, be careful.
I think you guys have a legitimate hot area.
Hey, and I'll tell you this, West, dude, if we actually get something, you know,
because our goal is to go out there and bring evidence forward.
So you will be the first person we call, man.
If, you know, Chaz gets raped by, you know, an alpha male.
And we have evidence.
Take one for the team.
Just get the DNA out of them.
That's all I need.
Keep it warm, yes.
People warm.
Well, that's all Kelly.
Yeah.
No, I appreciate it, guys, and I appreciate you guys coming on and sharing the experience, sharing the videos.
I love to hear you guys are going out there and trying to find real evidence.
And the other thing I want to say, guys, thanks for your service.
You know, you go on Facebook.
I try and stay out Facebook, to be honest with you.
But you see every cop in the world shooting.
people and it seems so unjustified.
Most cops I know are trying to do their best.
And despite what people say, they're very underpaid.
I know most people look at their salary and think they're just making, you know,
you guys are burning money at night to keep warm.
But you guys are very underpaid for what you do.
It's a very thankless job.
And it takes a good man to do what you guys do.
Honestly, I couldn't deal with what you guys deal with on a daily basis.
And you guys do put your life on the on.
You never know what someone's going to do.
You guys really do put your life on the line.
And I can't thank you enough for you guys' service.
I know you guys see the same crap on Facebook.
Don't get you wrapped up in that, man.
99.9% of all cops are good people, good hearts,
and are trying to make it a better place,
trying to keep the public safe.
And I guarantee you when gunfire goes off,
I'll be running the opposite direction.
And Chaz and Kelly will be running
towards a gunfire, because that's what these guys do.
And I just appreciate it, guys, and thank you for your service.
Yeah, I appreciate that.
We live to serve, man.
That's just the nature of our beast.
That's what we do.
So thank you very much.
Yeah, thank you, guys, and thank you for coming on.
No problem.
