Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:468 The Devil's Lettuce And Bigfoot
Episode Date: September 8, 2018Rick writes "Hi Wes, My name is Rick. Around Aug 2004 me and a friend were in Haliburton Forest planting pot. I've been growing weed for 25 years and I've been to some of the most remote locations in ...the southern part of the province. Ontario is huge and there is a lot of deep forest out there. I'v never seen anything like What I saw that year before or since. I had rented a cottage in Carnarvin, it,s just outside the town of haliburton and we were planting not far from there. It is remote Forrest out there, swamps and limestone and granite and thick thick brambles and vines and thorns and in some spots it almost impossible to go off trail because you just can't . Well these are the places we like to go in fall or early spring to prep the planting area cut trees ect. Then come summer its grows in and there's no trails leading to our patch. Well, we going into the area in the middle of summer for some reason I forget why and for some reason we had to go off trail so we were hacking through the brambles vines and thorns, I mean its so thick we get like 10 yards in 10 min. We hacked into the thicket for about 30 yards and we found a tunnel cut into the thicket. It ran for thousands of meters through the absolute thickest parts where you just can't walk, it was like a highway through the brambles. It would fork off into different directions and there was a well worn path inside. It was absolutely crazy. It opened up Into a huge crater clearing. The crater must have been at least 80-100 feet from the center in a perfect circle. The perimeter was huge. It was about 25 feet deep with about a 20′ slope. We started to walk toward center when I looked on the ground and saw something I have never ever seen oh heard of before. Bones, thousands of them. The slopes the center , the whole floor of this huge crater was fucking covered in bones. Skulls ribs, vertebrae , mostly deer some moose and bear.. I got a sense of dread. Like I'm not supposed to be here. Me and my buddy were horrified. There is no way it was a poacher spot because there were no trees in the crater to hang an animal on for cleaning and gutting. We looked at the bones close and noticed obvious gnaw marks and we got the fuck out of there. As we started walking around the crater I noticed that there were several of these "tunnel" cut outs that opened up into this crater, basically all the way around. It was like there were hidden paths all through the Forrest and they all led to here. By the time we were to freaked out to stay any longer we couldn't tell what doorway we came in through. I took a reading from my gps and we basically cut our way out in a straight line the fastest way out. It took us hours to hack though the brambles that we so quickly came in through by way of the tunnels, by the time we made our way to the trail we were so tired we just went back to the cottage and went to bed. Believe me we spent most of the night talking about what the hell could have made that intricate highway through the most dense brush imaginable, wolves, bears, ? We reasoned out that it couldn't possibly have been either based on the height and width of the tunnels. They were like 8'w and 5'h all the way that we walked. Perfect tunnels in the thickets. The next day we went back into the forest to plant a spot we had already picked out. It was basically in a direct line with a local airport that was about 5 miles away. It was me my buddy and his little red nose pit bull and we were digging some hole in a big clearing when I herd a loud low flying Cessna coming in line with runway so we ducked down as not to be seen. We hid under a big tree and went prone as the plane flew over the clearing. As soon as it passed and the roar of the engine faded a bit we started to stand when all of a sudden two massive I mean massive black creatures, not bears way way to big to be blackies came charging into the clearing and passed us as the pit bull went nuts and gave chase. They were on all fours while running through the clearing but even on all fours they were easily up to my chin and I'm 5'10 . Wes I,v seen the biggest black bears and these ain't no $%#@* bears. On all fours they were easily over 5 feet high and almost a wide at the shoulder. They went by so fast. I knew we were being stalked and that the sound of the plane spooked them as they were about to jump us. We banged shovel on trees and yelled and screamed the whole way out. We though for sure the dog was gone for good but she tracked our scent and found us about an hour later. When I saw this I knew where the tunnels and the bone pit came from. These things stalk there prey pacing it in the tunnels in the thicket beside the Forrest paths, pull it into the tunnel at some point and then whisk it down to the feeding crater until it's nothing but a bone pile. Scariest, craziest $hit Ive ever seen." Then I will speak to Ben who is from Ohio and shares some strange things on his property.

Black thing go from left to right, and I thought, I'm going to die out here and no one's ever going to know.
I couldn't believe what my eyeballs was showing me.
I'll never forget how evil the eyes were.
It was horrible.
I mean, I've never seen nothing that evil.
It ran towards me at a rate that I can't even explain, turned and stared at me.
And this look of, I just want to kill you.
I want to say it was human, but it wasn't.
He was yelling at me to grab a gun, grab a gun.
I was like, for what? He said, just grab a gun.
And there's footprints all the way to the door of my house.
It had went inside my garage all the way to the door.
911, what are you reporting?
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That son of a bitch is about six foot, nine, I don't know.
Do you see him now, sir?
Yes, I'm looking right at him.

Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Nothing like naming a show, Devil's Lettuce and Bigfoot,
playing a little Bob Marley there in the background.
God, that guy was talented.
I really miss Bob Marley.
I can't think of anything he's done that I don't like.
Anyway, I got a great show playing for you tonight.
going to be talking to Rick and Rick's up there in Canada.
They were actually planting weed and they, he describes almost like Bigfoot's layer that he
chopped his way into.
And it made me really think of Randy Harrington, who had on a couple weeks ago.
He was talking about the same thing, finding this weird little tunnel system where he
found all these bones and it looked like something big was eating.
But Rick goes on to talk about seeing what looked like two large chimpanzees running towards
them and at the last moment shifting gears and deciding not to run these guys over.
Very fascinating stuff.
Then I'll be talking to Ben.
And Ben actually had a very interesting encounter.
He had several encounters actually at his dad's property.
And where's Ben at?
I know I'm going to get one listener that's like,
Eden tells us where Ben was.
Ben is actually in Ohio.
And so anyway, he grew up on this property and they kept having strange things happen,
like banging on the house.
There was other witnesses that showed up.
that experience weird things.
So Ben will go into that tonight.
If you've had an encounter, shoot me an email.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And I'm excited.
I'm releasing the show instead of Sunday today.
I got invited to go meet the cast from Tombstone.
Doc Holiday himself.
So I'm super excited.
It's probably my all-time favorite movie.
You know, I'm not proud of it,
but I could probably quote every line in that movie.
Anyway, a great movie.
If you haven't seen it, Tombstone, great movie.
So I'm super excited to go meet Doc Holiday.
It sounds like a schoolgirl.
You know, I can't wait to meet the guy.
I'm going to totally go fanboy on it.
Anyway, I'm sure no one cares.
I'm excited.
That's all you need to know is.
I'm excited.
Anyway, check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
You can become a member, get additional shows.
Let's jump into it tonight.
Rick, welcome to the show.
Thanks so much for being here.
Hey, no problem.
Yeah, thanks for coming on, man.
I appreciate you being here.
You had a very fascinating encounter there in Ontario.
If you would, would you kind of start from the beginning.
Tell us what you were out doing and just kind of walk us into what happened.
Well, it was 2004.
And me and a couple of buddies rented a cottage just north of Lake Ontario.
You know, up near a place called Halliburton.
And it's pretty dense forest.
It sits off the edge of Algonquin Park.
It's still basically in the Algonquin forest.
You know, there's everything up there, moose, bears, everything, deer.
It's just tons of wildlife up there.
Tons of lakes, swamp, you know, rock outcroppings, and miles of forest, just miles and miles of forest.
And we were actually up there plant and pot.
And we were pretty far out into the wilderness.
We weren't going anywhere.
We were going to run into anybody, that's for sure.
And we had been through the area early, early in the spring,
and we did all our work, basically,
all our, dug all our holes and did all our prep work.
And, you know, over the,
course of a couple of weekends, we, we finished up. It was later in the summer, we went back up to
the cottage because we rented a cottage up there. And for some reason or another, we just went
out into the forest, you know, just to kind of look at things. See how things were coming along.
It's really dense. Like, it's very few logging roads, very few trails.
but the trails that are there basically run all through the forest.
You know, they go on for miles and miles.
And you really can't go off the trails in a lot of spots
because it is so thick with thorns and, you know, raspberry bushes, brambles, dogwood.
Just tons of thick vines.
And you can't go off the trail.
You know, it's like a wall of brush and thick it to get through.
So it's almost impossible.
But anyway, we had to get to some, one of our patches,
and it was really far to go and walk the trails around to get to it.
And I just, I took a GPS reading to see if, you know, we could make a birds,
kind of a straight track through it, through the brambles, right?
Kind of machete hack to it and get to it.
and I got a reading and a bearing and we kind of started cutting our way through the brambles
and it was so thick it just it took forever to get I almost wish we had to actually walked on
the trail now but it took forever to you know get in in through these thickets and I'm hacking away
with the machete and we get in about like 25 30 yards of this thick thick
bramble and it was almost like we had drilled into a tunnel. It was the craziest thing. I hacked into it and all of a sudden it just opened up and we were standing in a thicket tunnel. Like a tunnel, it was all intertwined branches and vines and it ran forever through this forest. It almost like paralleled the trail.
all the way through.
And it was huge.
It was like it branched off here and there and it went on for thousands of meters.
And I'm just thinking, what the hell is this from?
What could possibly could do this?
And we were walking through it.
We weren't thinking, you know, creepy feeling or nothing like that.
We're just kind of, what the hell is this?
We were more amazed and really scared or anything like that.
And we're following it.
we're walking through it, and it opened up into this crater.
It's hard to explain.
Basically, it was like a, well, it was a big kind of crater-shaped pit,
and it went down about 25 feet, you know, from the top of the, the edge of the crater to the
bottom on like a, probably like a 20 or 25-degree slope, and it was about 100 feet.
feet from the edge, you know, the, um, the, the, the brush where we came out, the brambles to like
the edge of the, to like the center of the crater was about 100 feet all the way around.
So it was like this huge, huge opening, this huge crater, this huge pit, basically.
And there were no trees in the center of it. And, but it was, there was no paths going into it.
It was just crazy. And as I'm walking towards the center of it. And, and as I'm walking towards the center of it, and, and, but it was, and, and, but it was no paths going to, and it was no paths, and it was in
it. I looked down and there are bones everywhere. I mean thousands of bones. It was the craziest thing
we'd ever seen in our lives, like jaw dropping. It went all the bones were like scattered
all the way around the whole bowl of the crater from the top of it, all the way to the bottom
of it and all the way around the crater. It was crazy. There was just three.
thousands of bones. A lot of them had, like, moss growing on them. Like, you could just tell
it, like, this bone pile had been piling up for a lot of years, and there was more fresh ones
there, you know, like, you could just see the layers of bones through the years, you know? Some of them
were fairly clean and white. Some of them were, you know, rotting and moldy and whatnot. But
it was just crazy there was skulls there was bear skulls there was deer skulls there was like a couple
old moose skulls just bones everywhere it was nuts uh we started getting like freaked and as we're
looking around trying to get the hell out of there we noticed there was a bunch of openings like
those tunnels all the way around the crater um and we couldn't remember what bloody one we came in on
and by the time we noticed all these bones and everything,
we weren't going back into those tunnels, basically.
So we started hacking our way out of there with the machetes again,
like getting the hell out of there trying to find a trail.
And eventually we got onto a trail,
and we were pretty damn tired by then from all the hacking
and everything else that we were doing.
So we just forgot all about going to our patch.
We went back to the cabin.
and just went to bed basically and talked for hours, you know, that night, what the hell could have did that?
You know, we were thinking at first, like poachers, you know, but there were no trees, like, in that crater to hang a kill on and gut it and prep it.
You know, there was just, there was nowhere to hang a carcass.
Yeah, it sounds almost like something big was in there eating and just tossing the bones when it was done eating.
creepy very creepy it was like whatever whatever called this place you know the dinner table
it's like they they they had entrances from all directions you know they were using these
these tunnels like a bloody super highway you know i i could i just started you know wondering
what the hell could do this right um but we it was the next day you know it wasn't i i couldn't
think of anything. I thought, you know, bears, but bears couldn't build tunnels in the bush. Like,
come on. It was, it was just perplexing, you know, perplexing. So the next morning, um, we got up and
went out to the patch. And this time, you know, we went around the trail. It took us a long time,
but we weren't cutting through those tickets again. So, uh, we went right in.
around the trail and we got there and we're working away in our clearing right and we were you know
just water in and fixing up for like about an hour right and there's an airport not too far like about
five kilometers uh straight from where our patch was and basically they're coming over our clearing
these airplanes would come over our clearing to line up with the runway right
but I knew, you know, they're not going to see our patch because, you know, they're lining up at the runway.
They're too busy trying to land their planes.
They're not going to look down and, you know, see anything at this point.
And we're working away and we heard a plane approaching.
So we ducked under a tree, you know, because, you know, we didn't want them seeing us working away in our patch.
So we ducked under a tree while it flew by, you know, it was really loud.
It was like a little sassanit, but it was a little.
low and loud.
And it flew over and kind of started fading away out of, out of earshot.
And we got up from under the tree, we ducked under.
And as soon as I stood up, these two huge things, things on all fours,
barreled right straight past us.
like the ground was shaking it was like point it was like two on the rector scale you know it was
they shook the ground so much um i've seen black bears millions of times in fact the day earlier
we were watching black bears at the halliburton dump because you you can just drive into the
halberton dump and the bears won't even bother you know you can just go and walk around and
they're just in there sniffing out the food they don't care there's a guy there with a gun you know
just in case but uh but they don't even
care about the bears. The bears are there all the time. There's well-fed bears in Halliburton.
There's no need for bears to be stocking anybody in the in the Halliburton forest because the dump
is like the dinner table for those guys. But anyway, these two big black things go barreling past us
and they were on all fours, but they were really wide at the shoulder and more narrow at the hip.
I didn't see them head on. They'd already passed by the time.
I'd looked at them.
I was just seeing, like, the rear end of them,
but I could just tell.
Like, it, they looked like bloody overgrown orangutans.
It is, is, but they reminded me of just, like, you could see, like,
like, a furry ass sticking up in the air.
Well, definitely it wasn't a bear.
Yeah.
Huge long arms in the front that were, like, they were running like chimps.
Or, yeah, like chimps.
And I could see, like, a, you know, the.
basically the top of the head over the shoulders.
But I couldn't see like the front of them.
And they just barreled past and right out of there.
Like I know for like once we put two and two together,
we knew they were like just about to jump us.
And it was the sound of that airplane basically spooked the hell out of them
as they were about to probably jump us.
Oh, I got you.
So they were coming your general direction.
and then you think I got you.
Yeah, it was like you were watching us ready to make a jump.
And as soon as they were about to, that airplane popped over the clearing.
And they kind of stopped.
And then as soon as it left, as soon as it got over the clearing, they were in mid run.
But we'd noticed them by them because we were getting back up.
Right.
And they just kept running.
They just ran straight through our clearing and straight the hell out of there.
And we had a little red-nosed pity, what I say?
She was only about 30 pounds.
but she was just full of pissing vinegar and nothing scared her.
Like she chased these things.
And I've heard all the stories about, you know, like Sasquatch and stuff,
how dogs will, uh, cower and they, you know, they won't,
they don't want to go near them or anything.
But, you know, some of the, some of the pities that we got up around here,
they're not, they're not scared of anything.
And, you know, this little girl, she just put the run right on them.
But me and my buddy, we were shitting our pants.
man like my buddy the first thing he said to me he's going they're not bears those aren't bears those
aren't bears and he's snapping and we start yelling and screaming and banging our shovels on the trees
and like trying to get the hell out of there and we didn't think we were ever going to see the dog again
she chased after these things and we were just trying to get the hell out of there like like if we'd have
thought for a second that they were bears we never would have put on that kind of a show you know like
we we wouldn't have cared we know the bears up there
are well fed.
We,
you know,
and I know
black bears,
you know,
that's what we got
around these parts.
I know they are
vicious and they will
attack humans
for feeding,
but not when there's
a huge dump,
like,
you know,
probably two miles away
and it is just a
free-for-all
for all the bears in the area.
And I can't specifically
ever remember,
ever hearing of a bear
attack in Halliburton.
Because really,
the bear,
the berries and the,
like,
It's just so, so much good eating up there for him.
Can I ask you before you go on, how far away from you was these things when you saw them?
When you stood up and it looked like two orangutans or two chimpanzee running, how far away from you was them?
Was he saying?
30 feet?
Oh, wow, really close.
Yeah.
Yeah, they were like just, I could just tell.
They had a bearing of heading straight for us.
and basically when that plane popped over the clearing and started taking off and we got up
from under the tree they noticed that we noticed them and they veered off like because they
couldn't get the drop on us anymore but they it was so fast it was like it it was like they
shifted that angle of attack you know like from coming basically straight towards us to
moving away from us and gone and out of the clearing it was so bloody fast it was like and i know bears
are quick but they ain't this quick they ain't this quick i i've there's no way you nobody would
ever convince me that these were black bears like they were way too big first of all on all fours
these things were almost up to my chin on all fours and there is no black bears that tall um
I used to live out in Vancouver or Vancouver area.
And I've seen some pretty big grizzlies out there, man.
These things were like bloody grisly size almost.
They were huge.
And just the way the ground was shaken, it was just nuts.
If I had to guess at the poundage on one of these things,
and they were both massive.
And that's another point.
You will never see two black bears.
that big, basically buddy, buddy,
hanging out together, hunting in the forest.
It don't happen.
They're a very solid.
You might see them fighting, but not.
Yeah, that's right.
You'd see them fighting, but not organizing a hunt.
You know what I mean?
Not stalking something.
These things were like, we were being stocked.
There was no, you know, they, there was no other explanation.
We were being stocked and we knew it.
And, you know, we put the fear.
on that, you know, we felt it.
You know, we were so bloody scared.
Like, it was crazy.
Just crazy.
That is.
And, you know, the easiest way to tell it's a bearer is when a bear is on all four is.
You can immediately look at it and go, oh, that's a bearer.
And then for both of you guys, you know, because I know you're in bear country,
for both you guys to stand up and be like, that looks more like an orangutan running.
I would imagine there's mass confusion, fear, all the emotions.
wrapped up in one seeing these things run past you.
Especially 30 feet, man.
30 feet's pretty damn close.
It was real damn close.
It was too damn close.
That's for sure.
And as soon as we saw those,
on our way out as we were like yelling and screaming
and banging on trees with the shovels,
you know, making basically as much noise as we could,
you know, like basically.
trying to sound like threatening or whatever to an animal because we're not thinking
Sasquatch, you know, that we're just not thinking that.
Like, like, you know, but we'd all heard the stories when we were, like, when we were
kids and stuff about, like, I don't know if you've ever heard of a place.
They've actually had some settings and that's a little closer to where I live because I
don't live anywhere near Halliburton.
I'm like 200 kilometers away from Halliburton.
I live closer to like a place called the Warsaw Caves.
You ever heard of that?
I haven't, no.
Okay, well, there's been some sightings at Warsaw Caves, and we've heard for years all these rumors and stuff.
I don't know anybody personally who's ever seen a Sasquatch, but we've all heard stories, you know, around this area, well, particularly a little further.
to north but but they are around and in fact uh just last week i um i'd heard that the uh bigfoot
research organization had had done a project where they plotted all the uh sightings onto uh google
earth um cam z file have you heard of that i haven't no no okay well if you uh if you google um bfro uh google earth
sightings. You'll see the
cam Z file and you can open it up
into Google Earth and it actually puts
all the sightings
on the geographical location
on the globe where they've been, right?
And I was actually checking that
out last week and I'd seen
there was a couple sightings
within the last like 10 years
pretty close to where I'd seen
them up near Halliburton there
and down
a little closer to where I am
now which is you know
just outside of Toronto.
But yeah, we never thought Bigfoot, man.
When these things, they were the, that was the last thing we thought of.
It actually took a while before we were willing to, like I mean like weeks before we were willing
to actually say, man, we must have saw Sasquatch.
But we knew when we saw these things, what had made those tunnels.
Because these things couldn't have came out from anywhere west.
They weren't on the trail.
So they must have came out of the thick.
And they must have been traveling through those tunnels in the thicket.
Because we never heard shit.
We didn't hear these things sneaking up on us.
And it's so bloody thick in this forest.
You can't just walk through those brambles and not make noise of a rock concert.
Like it's, you can't, you couldn't take two steps without somebody knowing you were coming through, right?
But these things just popped out of nowhere, man, like nothing.
like nothing. We didn't hear them.
All we know, all we knew is we felt the ground shaken and we saw them just popping right through
the clearing at us. And then they, as soon as they noticed that we noticed them, they changed
directions and they, you know, they like basically right angled it away from us.
So that's why I didn't get a good look at their face or their front on. I basically
just caught like the rear shoulder side view and then the absolute
rear end view.
And that's when I noticed
like how small
their rear end was
in in relation to their
upper body.
Kind of like a gorilla or a monkey.
Yeah, it was a lot more narrow.
And bears,
they're more like a pear shape.
You know,
they got like a really wide ass end
and it starts to narrow out
towards the head, right?
It was nothing like that.
It was like, yeah.
It reminds me.
It reminds me,
I don't mean Kay off right. I apologize. It reminds me of, there's a video from Canada.
And it's these two kids, two high school kids, and they're out there just filming.
I don't know if you've seen it or not. They're just out there messing around filming.
I think it was something for school. And one of the kids is running. And you see like this
gorilla come out of the freaking nowhere out of the woodline. And it bum rushes the kid.
And at the last second, it changes direction and goes off in the other way. But when you watch it,
It looked like a gorilla coming.
I mean, it looked like a monkey or a very large monkey or a gorilla.
Just the way it ran, it reminded me of a gorilla.
Like what you're saying, kind of smaller hips, smaller butt, wide shoulders, big head, not like a bear at all.
I'll send it to you if you want.
Facebook Find Bigfoot posted it many years back.
It was in Canada.
And these were just a bunch of high school kids.
And I don't even know if you could scream hoax on that because it was so damn good.
what they filmed.
You see, and again, it looks like a gorilla bum rushing this kid.
He's running.
And it reminds me of a dog.
You know, like when you're running,
all of a sudden your dog will chase you.
That's what it reminded me of.
It comes running out after the kid,
and the last second it changes direction and goes out.
I'll send it to you, man.
It's fascinating to watch.
So what do you guys do next?
You guys just get out of there,
and that was pretty much into that.
We got the hell of it.
Dumb question.
We did.
We did not take the trail back.
You know, we were cutting back through thick shit to get out of there.
You know, we weren't going anywhere in here.
Because they only ran off in one direction, and that was down the trail that we would
have had to get out on, right?
So I don't know where the hell they came from.
But they didn't come up on the trail.
That's for sure.
They had to have come through those tunnels and then popped through the thicket somewhere.
But once we saw that and we started getting out of there,
You know, we started talking about what we'd seen the day before, you know, the tunnels in the bram, in the, in the thicket and how they, all these different directions that they branched off in, but they all opened up around the circle of this crater, you know, it was just like, we, we just knew whatever the hell this thing was.
they were they were like stalking them down the trail along like in the tunnel you know like
paralleling people or sorry not people but the animals like didn't we looked actually for for bones like
remember when i said we seen skulls and all that stuff we were actually looking to see if there was
like human bones or anything like that and we didn't notice anything like that but definitely
we didn't you know we'd call the cops at that point but uh but it was bloody crazy all the
bones. It was just thousands of them. We knew right then what had made that bone pile or, you know, over years and years. There must be like generations of these things, unless they live to be incredibly old. I have no idea. I've got some theories on that, actually. But yeah, it's, it's fascinating. I know when I had Randy Harrington on, was it two weeks ago? I'll have to go back and look. And it was the empty tent episode. He was talking about going into an air
much like how you describe and finding bones everywhere,
almost like a bone yard.
And he talked about that.
And he actually sent me pictures of it.
I need to post it.
But it did look like something very large was in there eating
and just kind of tossing the bones off to the side when it's done.
Let me tell you, this crater, this bone pile that we walked into,
we're not talking something large we're talking a bunch of large things had to be in there
snacking down because this was huge like it was a huge like i said from from the point where we
popped out of the the tunnel into the top of the crater because you know it opened up onto the
top of the crater right like it was like a big bowl in the round right and like a big huge crater
but there was at least like a hundred feet or
more from the edge to the center of it and it went all the way around like that's a radius right like
from the outside edge to the center right radius so that's like it's over a hundred feet and then all
the way around so like that's that's that's that's a lot of square footage man that's a lot of bones that's
a lot of bones like that had to be literally hundreds of animals in there it there had to be it was it was
bloody scary. It was, it was scary. Did you guys ever go back? Did you guys ever go back to that area?
No. No, definitely not. In fact, it was something we didn't even really think about for quite a few years after, you know, after that summer, right?
and honestly, I just stumbled on to your show about two weeks ago.
And you just actually mentioned the empty tent episode.
That's actually up next on my playlist because I've only heard about maybe 10 episodes of Sasquatch Chronicles.
Oh, cool.
Because like I said, I just stumbled on to it recently, right?
Well, thanks for listening, brother.
Appreciate you taking the time to listen, Mab.
It's totally awesome.
And I thought, well, you know, I was just wondering that maybe if somebody else had ever noticed these tunnels in the thicket.
But who the hell would?
Because who goes into that kind of thick stuff?
And then I started thinking about the missing 411 stuff, about all the people on trails right there on the trail one minute and then gone.
And the people like just turned away for a second and then they're gone.
You know, and it's all thick around them, and they didn't, nothing came up the trail,
nothing left the trail.
What the hell?
Look in those thick parts, man.
I'm telling you, there's super highways running through those f***ickets.
At least there was up in Halliburton anyway.
And, you know, like, apparently, you know, if these animals or creatures or whatever they are,
are like migratory or whatever, then I couldn't see why it would be any different south of the border,
you know, down in some of the national parks and stuff down there.
the real thick, thick forest.
I'll bet you if somebody hacked into those bramble thickets a little bit, you'd find
bay hollow highways running right through them all through the forest.
I've never seen anything like it.
Like it was buddy amazing.
It was literally a super highway through the forest.
Well, you know, and what you guys were doing, you know, the planting weed, I mean,
I think, you know, at this point I could care less.
It's like I think they have legalized it everywhere.
But it's interesting whenever you talk to guys out there because you always
got to go out there in the middle of nowhere, water's got to be nearby.
I've never planted it out in the woods, but I know how it works.
And whenever I talk to the guys doing that, they always have some story, always have some story.
Because you're in the middle of freaking nowhere.
You're near water.
And I know there's a lot more stories out there with guys out there planting weeds in states
where it's illegal here in the U.S.
I know they have stories because I've heard a lot of stories off the air, but a lot of times they don't want to come on the air because they're like, I was out, you know, growing weed.
And so, you know, like here in Washington State's legal, but it always makes me laugh because those guys always have some story.
I wanted to ask you, Rick, what do you think that they are?
I mean, I know you kind of alluded to what you saw, but if someone were to ask you, what do you think Sasquatch is, what would you say to them?
all right well i guess it would really depend on what particular style you're referring to because
from you know i've checked into them now a little bit over the years you know everybody watches
you know anybody who who who is into it watches all the the crazy uh history channel programs
and the national geographic you know um and some of them are pretty pretty decent you know like
uh like what's his name uh john bendernagle there um
Yeah.
Or the late Dr. Riner Nagel.
And who was the, what's the other fellow's name, the anthropologist?
Well, anyhow, you know, they seem to be pretty educated in it.
And from what I've heard, you know, there's a few different types of them.
You know, some of them have the split foot, the, what do they call it there?
Yeah, the mid-tarsal break.
Yeah, the mid-tarsal break.
And some of them don't, you know, a lot of them are more.
human type. So my
theory is,
have you ever heard of a guy
L.A. Marzuli?
Yeah, of course. Okay, you know how
he's checking into the
Nephilim? The nephalum heads
and all that kind of stuff. Well,
I don't know if you've ever noticed, but they are
pretty damn similar looking to a Sasquatch
head. They've got
the point on the back. They've got
some of them have very protruding
canine, and they're
a lot bigger than human heads, right?
and they don't have the, uh, the sagenal, uh, sageal, uh, sageal, uh, sutures in them.
And, you know, humans usually have, I think, three, uh, sageal sutures around our head.
But you seldom here, though, of really old people, um, their sageal sutures do join together.
And you, and you, and there is only one.
So, you know, maybe these things are like some of these nephalum.
heads are just really old old Sasquatch or you know something like that or uh they could have
been a like a cross between the two um but some of these uh ones where you hear people say well that they
had a down syndrome look to them i'm thinking they're like kind of a cross between a human and maybe
a uh a orangutan or a chimpanzee and maybe the gene pool
got so thinning out, you know, they started like inabrating too much and they took on a real
Down syndrome sort of look, you know. And that's, that's my take on it. Like, I think it's
different for every style of Sasquatch or Bigfoot type creature out there. I don't think there's,
I don't think there's any right answer, really, because there's... Yeah, it's a fascinating take. It's,
I've thought about that before because you're right.
You look at some of the skulls that are pulling up or I forget the guy's name in Brazil.
He keeps pulling these skulls up.
Oh, yeah.
And yeah, they do.
I mean, it's, I guess if you threw some skin on it, some meat on it and some hair on it,
it would look like a Sasquatch skull.
Absolutely.
And what's, you know, what's a common trait of these Sasquatch out in that part of the world?
Red hair.
Right.
You know, a lot of them are, you know, brownish red hair.
right? And that's a lot of the color of the hair they're finding. If they find one of these skulls with hair intact, it's usually bloody red. You know, so yeah, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, you know, one of my theories on it anyway. Yeah, it's a, it's a fascinating take. And I know the, the, the encounter's fascinating. I mean, thank God that plane went over the top, top of the, it's funny. I talk to a guy, well, I say funny, not funny, but I talked to a guy who was a, what's it called?
a crop duster and he was flying a plane and he had seen one come out and actually kill some deer.
He saw it fall from the air and he was in shock over it.
And I said, you know, so it's interesting that you got to, I wonder if they were trying to run you guys down and decided the last moment got startled.
Thank God they got startled if that was a case.
But you guys are in a dangerous position too because I don't know if it's like the den or it sounds like a den, which would probably piss them off.
have you guys were in there?
You know, that's something we had thought of later is they'd sniffed us.
Because I would imagine whatever these things are, they must have amazing senses,
the smell and sight.
Like I truly believe these things can see in the infrared.
And that's why people can't get them on cameras.
I really think they must have a super sensitive hearing.
sense of smell definitely
but I think
that they smelled us
in their little
bone pit the day before
and when we went back
into the forest the next day
because our patch wasn't
too too far from that bone pit
they would have been thick as hell to get to it
almost impossible unless you're
traveling down the super highway in the middle of the
bloody thicket but
But yeah, I hear you, man.
Yeah, I know it's a fascinating account.
It really is.
And it's a terrifying account.
I don't blame you guys for not going back.
I don't think I would have gone back either.
We never went back.
We never went back even to get the pot in harvest time.
Like, we just left the plants there.
We just left in there.
We, we're f***ed out.
We weren't going back there, man.
And, in fact, we never went back there again.
and we had several patches in that forest and we never went near any of them.
But yeah, I kind of forgot what I was saying there.
I think they smelt us in the forest the next day checking our patch.
And they knew we were the ones that were invaded their bone pit the day before
and they either were coming to give us a warning or they were coming to personally lead us to the bone pit.
One way or the other, it, you know, it wasn't good.
That's for sure.
But I'm definitely thankful we got out of there alive because when we were,
when we were yelling and screaming, pounding those shovels on the trees
and basically just freaking out of our fucking minds, yelling and screaming,
trying to, you know, sound intimidating.
We didn't think we were getting out of there.
And oddly enough, about an hour later, the dog came back.
Because I don't know if I told you, the pit bull chased them.
She did come back about a number.
an hour later, she tracked us and found us, oddly enough.
Like, she wasn't injured or anything like that.
We thought for sure that we were never going to see the dog again.
But thank God she did come back.
Yeah, no kidding.
Yeah, I could actually, you know, I could actually show you on Google Earth where this took
place or, you know, the approximate area anyway.
Because I know, like I think I mentioned that Google Earth BFRO thing to you,
I'll send you a link to download that
and I'll add on it.
I'll try to edit it and add where I had our sightings.
And yeah, you can just check it out because, yeah.
Yeah, please do.
I would love to see that.
I would absolutely love to see that.
Yeah, please send that to me if you get a free moment.
Yeah, I will.
I appreciate it coming on, man.
Thank you so much for sharing the encounter.
Yeah, well, thanks for having me, man.
God bless and keep it up.
This is a great show.
It's definitely an awesome outlet for this kind of phenomenon.
Because other than getting ridiculed and laughed at by, you know,
pretty much anybody who you try would explain something like this too, you know.
Generally, too, and it's horrible.
It's the hunters, the mostly, because I know a lot of hunters.
And I told this story a couple of times, the hunters.
I just get, you know, with poachers or be this or that about the bone pit.
Yeah, okay.
Come on up to Halliburton with me, buddy.
And we'll see how good you do standing there.
Yeah.
It's quite quite a great ride.
I hear you.
Well, thank you again, brother.
Yeah, man.
Thanks a lot.
Bright light said it's going to set my soul,
going to set my soul on fire.
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn.
So get those stakes of higher.
And before we bring Ben on,
I just want to remind the audience that MyBooky was cool enough to sponsor Sasquatch Chronicles.

I'm kind of bummed out about that.
But I guess you don't win if you don't play.
Thank you again.
to my bookie. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Ben to the show. Ben, thanks for coming on.
Hey, my pleasure. Thanks for having me. Yeah, brother. I appreciate you coming on and sharing what
happened on your dad's property. And I know there's a lot of weird things that happened.
If you would, would you kind of just start from the beginning? Tell us about this property
and kind of tell us how all of this started. What did you experience? Well, Wes, you know,
it was my dad's property. He bought it. He moved into it when I,
I was a teenager, I believe.
And, you know, weird stuff would happen for years that, you know, we never really tied together.
I didn't tie a lot of this stuff together and realize it was connected until years later.
You know, just little stuff.
You would go outside and there would just be like a little line of pebbles on the porch.
Or, you know, my dad and I would be sitting and watching TV or talking and there would just be a loud, bam, on the side of the house or the front of the house.
Or it would sound like something hit the house.
And of course, we would go out.
there, there would be nothing, it would just be, you know, ghost town, nothing around. The way the
property was laid out on all sides, except for the front yard, our front yard was probably a good
300 feet long. The rest of the yard, it really only surrounded our house by about 20 feet,
and then it was cornfield from there on out. And then there was the road that ran along the front
of that there was more cornfields. You know, the households were a few and far between, but just
odd stuff like that, you know, like there was one, one time where a friend and I, we were out in the
front yard and we were just kind of, my dad had these old golf clubs, and we were just hitting
golf balls out into the field, you know, just dumb stuff kids do when they live in the country
past time. And a couple days later, one of the golf balls was just randomly like, like, setting
on our porch. And it was just kind of weird, you know, it was, and you're trying to, you know, it was, and
you try to talk it up to, you know, maybe as kids or crows, you know, I've heard stories of
ravens like picking stuff up and leaving them places. Yeah, but I never really, we never really
thought too much of it. I think the first really bizarre encounter we had, a friend of mine had come
over to hang out, and he had stepped out on the front porch to smoke a cigarette. My, my dad didn't
allow anyone to smoke in the house. That was one of his only rules that he really had. He was
always pretty easy going.
So my friend was out front.
He was on the front porch,
smoking a cigarette. From where
he was standing, he could see
the cornfields all
around, and he was up above the one
side a little bit.
And he said as he was standing there,
he could see something
moving through the cornfield.
He couldn't make out what it was,
but he said it looked like it was the
size of an elephant just by
the movement of the corn, the way it was moving,
around as it was coming toward him. And he's standing there waiting, you know, and he's just
kind of wondering, what is this going to be, you know? There were like horse farms, cow farms,
all kinds of farms around, and he's just kind of assuming he's going to see this horse or cow pop out.
And just when it gets to about 10 feet from breaking the edge of the corn, it just stops suddenly.
And he described hearing it was like a huffing sound, like someone with short.
of breath like they had been running.
And then he said he heard what sounded like a handicapped person.
And when I asked him to elaborate on that, he said it sounded like someone who was deaf or
with a speech impediment or maybe like a learning disability or something.
He said it just sounded like a grunt, like it was like a, and then immediately whatever
it was kind of turned and took off in the other direction.
And he said it moved so fast when it took off in the other direction that he couldn't
imagine that it would be a horse or a cow.
It just tore through the cornfield.
And then, of course, he immediately just put his cigarette out.
He was kind of freaked out by it.
And we kind of just, you know, we had some theories, but we never really, you know,
it was just kind of occurrences.
Yeah, just kind of a weird.
One of those things that happens.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So a couple years later, fast forward on there.
You know, my nephew, he had moved in with us.
He was around 16 at the time.
My dad worked second shift.
It was only my nephew and I who were at home.
I was upstairs.
I was folding laundry and putting them in my dresser.
And he was downstairs, and, you know, this was before cell phone,
so he was downstairs on the landline talking to his girlfriend.
And I should probably preface this story.
You know, one thing I always hear hot,
one thing that I always think is odd when I hear other people's encounters
is it seems to be pretty pretty, pretty,
across the board that dogs tend to kind of cower away and get really scared, even like big
German shepherd. I know you've heard the stories a million times of these dogs like cowering down,
you know, in the presence of these things. My dad had a dog and it was just the most lovable
little dog. It was just a little fat mutt. Her name was lady. She didn't have an aggressive bone
in her body. My friends and I would joke, you could stick your finger in her mouth and pull food out
And she wouldn't growl.
She would just look up at you and look really sad.
And, of course, you know, we would give it back.
And she just, she wasn't aggressive.
Someone knocks on the door, she would bark and run and hide under the bed.
So my nephew's, he's laying on the bed.
He's got the dog next to him.
He gets off the phone.
From my perspective, from my point of view, I'm upstairs.
And all of a sudden, downstairs, all hell just breaks loose.
I hear a loud thud, like something like hit glass.
And the dog just goes all.
off. She's barking and just going nuts, going haywire. And my nephew made this noise and it was
just this, oh, terrified noise. And, you know, there was nothing funny about it at the time. But,
you know, in hindsight, now I like to make fun of him. And we refer to it as like the king of the
hill sound, you know, I'd never heard him make this noise before. So I'm like, I need to go see what's
going on. I step out in the hallway and turn and start down the stairs. And, and, you know,
he turns the corner and comes running up the stairs and he just looks terrified he's ghostly white
his eyes are huge and it's like he's looking past me and he's trying to run past me like through me
and so i have to grab him and shake him to to calm him down to get him to where he can he can actually
speak to me and talk to me again and all i can
really get out of him is hair and eyes. That's all he can really convey to me is hair and eyes.
I run downstairs and I probably grabbed my, I don't remember exactly, I probably grabbed my dad's
gun, grabbed a flashlight, went outside and there's nothing. I'm looking around. I'm, I'm,
there's nothing to be seen. It's just the yard and cornfield. And I go back inside and I get him
calm down enough to where he can actually kind of talk to me.
And he tells me that he saw a bunch of hair in the window.
And I'm like, what do you mean hair?
And he was like, he was like it was just a big black shape in the window.
It was taken up three quarters of the window.
And I mean, this was a pretty large window, you know, right in my dad's bedroom that leads out to the front of the house.
And he said he saw hair and eyes.
And that's all that he really saw, and he was out.
He saw it, and it just, the panic set in.
He jumped up and took off.
And the sound, I asked him when I, you know, what was the sound of the,
sounded like the glass being kind of hit.
And he said that that was actually the dog jumping up onto the glass,
like trying to scare away whatever.
And, you know, of course, and again, you know, we're not thinking big foot.
We're not thinking Sasquot.
like that's weird. There's some sort of weird demon or something outside, you know.
Then the third big incident that happened.
Well, let me ask you before we go into the third incident, did he ever say beyond just eyes and
hair? I mean, did he ever give you what he thought it was? And did you ever go out there and go
and see how high up was that window?
The window went, it was, it was, it was.
considering where it was in the bedroom.
The house was built kind of odd.
It went up probably, if I were standing, I'm six foot tall.
If I were standing out front looking at it, it would probably start at about my waist
and go up about another two feet above my head.
So whatever this was, and I even asked him, I was like, you know,
what when you saw hair?
I was like, was it a person?
And he said, no, I don't know.
I said, was it a deer?
He says, no, I don't know.
Like, he couldn't give me an answer.
And I was like, show me with your hands, you know, from inside the house, where the eyes were.
And I'll go outside, you know, the next day at the window and see where it was.
And it was a good head.
And, you know, a good foot taller than my head.
So it had to be a good seven feet tall.
Yeah.
That's what I was going to say.
You know, what's interesting, too, Ben, I don't mean cut you off.
I keep cutting you off and I apologize.
But that fear you talk about, I've seen people who have that fear.
There was an encounter I had in Texas where I always talk about the log being thrown.
The part of the story I don't tell is I'd given the fleur to a guy who had never seen these things before.
And he saw it run into the brush before we had the log thrown at us.
And I kept asking him, because he was white as a ghost, I was like, well, what did you?
Because he was white as a ghost.
I was like, well, what did you see?
And all he would say is I saw it.
I saw it.
I saw it.
I saw it.
I saw it.
And I was like, well, what did you see?
And he's like, I saw it.
I don't know.
I saw it.
And I think it's talking to someone who's in shock.
You know, it's hard to get them to really, okay, let's back up for a second.
Let's all relax here.
What did you see?
But that doesn't work all the time in those cases.
But I didn't mean Koff.
So the third incident, you said.
That's absolutely not.
And, you know, it's funny, too, because he even said, you know, and we've talked about this,
a bunch of times with each other.
We haven't really discussed it
with very many family members.
You know,
you get criticized and ridiculed.
But we've talked about it many times,
you know,
just he and I,
you know,
over the past.
And he said that when he saw the eyes,
he said he only saw it for a second.
And he said that from what he could see
from the hair,
it was a brown color.
And the eyes were the color.
He described it as the jewel
at the beginning of Jurassic Park
that has the mosquito inside of it.
Kind of a golden.
Sort of an amber.
Yeah, sort of an amber color.
I'm sorry, what was, I got, I lost my turn about there.
What was your other, the other part of your question there?
No, I didn't mean cut you off.
I threw you off, man.
I'm sorry.
I was just curious, you know, the shock of, I, I just know the shock of what you're talking about
because I've talked to someone like that before and how you describe how they look past you.
They don't even look at you.
They just want to look past you and they're trying to escape.
It's almost like you don't exist.
So you know you was terrified.
I mean, no, he was terrified, whatever he saw.
Oh, absolutely.
And, you know, it's funny because he said that, you know, in retrospect, he said before he even looked over to his right, to the window, to see it, he said it was weird because he almost got this sense of, like, weird, like panic fear before he even knew that it was there.
He said it was almost like he could feel this fear, and then he looked over and saw it, and then it was just everything kind of came from.
crashing in in that moment and he of course just panicked and ran upstairs and i mean i certainly
wouldn't blame him but um okay so the the my third incident i apologize if i'm going a little
no apologies no apologies at all um so this is this is again a few years down the road um
and he no longer lives with us it's now in my house it's me my dad and it's my ex-wife now my
wife at the time. I had a job working third shift at a factory. And so on my nights off, I would stay up all night
and play video games while she slept. And my bedroom was upstairs, and I had my TV and, you know,
my game system and everything in there. And I remember she was in bed sleeping, and I still remember
I was playing Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation. And I had everything muted all the way down so it wouldn't
disturb her, so she wouldn't hear anything.
And I'm sitting here playing this game. It's probably two or three o'clock in the morning,
and I hear this noise. And it was such a bizarre, odd noise. And being out in the country,
you can never really tell how far away something is. It sounded like it was far away.
And it was just this noise that it just sounded like it was like it started.
it off as a roar and then turned into a how.
But it was faint and it was distant.
And it sounded so bizarre.
And, you know, I lived in the country long enough.
I know that, like, house cats can make noises that I've heard house cats before make
noises in heat and it sounds exactly like a baby crying.
I've heard bobcats make noises that, you know, you would never imagine that they would
make that noise.
Yeah.
You know, water, all kinds of animals that make crazy noise.
Even coyotes, man.
Even coyotes make weird noises, you know.
Yeah, very true.
Very true.
You hear that occasional one that just sounds a little off.
But this was none of those things.
It just didn't sound, it just didn't sound right.
There was nothing, it didn't sound like it belonged.
It just was very unnatural.
To the point that I sat there and I couldn't tell you if it was two minutes or 20 minutes,
I hit pause on my game, and I sat there trying to figure out what the noise was
or if I had even heard a noise.
Like, I'm, you know, I'm sitting there, my logic is going, and I'm like, did I imagine that?
You know, what could that noise?
I must not have heard it.
It must be in my imagination.
And I almost had myself convinced of this when it did it again.
And this time, it was, like, right outside.
It was right in my front yard.
And it was so.
Can you describe the noise again?
I'm sorry.
like, can you describe the noise again?
For someone listening who,
I know you said it kind of went off into a scream,
but can you describe it for the audience?
And is there any audio you've heard that you thought, that's it?
There is, and I will definitely get to that here in a moment.
It was, first off, it was so loud.
I can't imagine the lung capacity that it would take
to produce this loud of a sound,
this much noise.
noise. And it had such a range. It started off as this low, like, as a low roar and kind of morphed
into this weird howl. So it was like a roar. And it was really loud and really long. And I felt
it. It was like, and you know, I don't mean it was like you're, you're staying in front of a speaker
and it's loud and you feel the vibrations from it.
it affected me.
And, you know, one of the best ways I can describe it, and I should preface this with, during all of these encounters, everyone involved was 100% sober, no one was drinking, no one was on any kind of drugs.
One time, a friend of mine, I experimented with a drug called MDMA, and it fills your body with this feeling of euphoria, of ecstasy.
And there's no logical reason for it.
You know, you're not thinking things that are making you happy.
You just feel overwhelmed with joy because of this drug.
Now, this, whatever made this noise affected me like that, but the opposite.
I don't, you know, I don't, it's not I heard a noise and I got scared.
I heard a noise and it, it like took over my emotions.
I wasn't in control of my own.
emotions anymore. It was, it went beyond like that fight or flight feeling even, you know,
there was no sense of panic like I was going to run. I felt like I was completely hopeless,
that there was nothing I could do at all. It was such a feeling of just absolute helplessness.
And it overcame me for those few seconds. And then as it started to subside, I realized that I was
shaking violently. I had tears running down my cheek. I'm like, what is this? I've never experienced
anything like this. Why do I feel like this? What's making me feel this way? And I thought,
I'm going to run over. I'm going to look out the window and see what just made that noise in the
front yard. But then as soon as that thought jumped into my head, I immediately thought,
look, if I, you know, I'm on the second floor. I know already if I pull this window, this curtain aside,
and look out there, I'm not going to be able to see anything.
You know, there are no streetlights.
It's just the country.
It's dark.
And, I mean, you can see where the sky meets the horizon, often the distance.
But, like, as far as something in my yard, I'm not going to be able to see it,
especially if the corn's up.
And then as soon as I thought that, I immediately thought, whatever just made that noise,
I don't want to see.
I don't want to see what made that noise.
I had this feeling that, you know, the T-1-1-1-1.
you know, the TV was on, so the room was still lit up, but there was darkness all around.
I had this, you know, in my mind, I just pictured this creature, this thing, this demon,
looking up and seeing someone pull the curtain aside and look out.
And I just felt like if it wanted to come in and kill my whole family, I could do nothing.
I would be helpless.
I could do nothing to stop it.
And I just kind of crawled in bed with my wife and turned off all the lights.
and rest of the shirt, I didn't sleep at all that night.
I just sat there.
I didn't hear another noise all night.
It wasn't for trying.
I mean, I was full alert at that point.
You know, I told my wife about it the next day.
I told my dad about it.
They were just like, oh, that's weird.
That's creepy.
Yeah.
Like, who knows what it was.
So it's like a year down the road.
And I had always been into like, you know,
I would watch Bigfoot documentaries, Sasquatch documentaries,
read about it.
I had never heard of vocalizations or anything like that or gifting or there are so much, so many asked to Sasquot that I didn't realize then, you know.
And so we're watching this documentary and they play these noises, the host, whoever's narrating it, he prefaces with, you know, scientists don't know what made these noises, we recorded them.
and he even mentioned that they were recorded in Ohio.
And when he played them,
I remember I just turned white and I got goosebumps.
And my wife at the time was like,
what's wrong with you?
And I was like, that's it.
That's the noise.
I was like, that's almost exactly what I heard.
It's what is now known as the Ohio House, obviously.
But it was very similar to that.
Only when you hear that on a recording,
it doesn't do it justice because I feel like you feel it more than you hear it.
and so then that's when I kind of put it together you know I was like wow I mean that's you know I thought of the incident with my nephew with the big hairy demon I thought of the demon in my front yard and I'm like man this isn't a demon at all there's these things are real and there's one that's out here like messing with us you know so it was that's kind of how I came to the I find that fascinating so the belief this is what you heard something very similar to that yeah the only difference is
is the, at the beginning, there was a longer, like,
the part that held out before it went to the how.
It was like a longer, like a, almost like a deep, loud growl before it turned into a howl.
Yeah, I find it.
That's really the only difference.
Yeah.
And I find it interesting, Ben.
You know, you don't have many people I talk to.
And they'll say, I don't think it's Sasquatch.
I think the place is haunted.
And I'll ask them, well, what makes you think the place is haunted?
And they'll describe everything you just described.
I mean, something slapping the side of the house or banging on the side of the house, something weird in the window, weird sounds that they hear, growls at the window, being hit with pebbles when they step out of their house and not really seeing where it's coming from.
And I always find it fascinating because most people will say, I think it's haunted because they hadn't seen it yet.
So they'll say, I think it's haunted.
But in your case, you've had third-party people come out and weird answers.
is that you can't explain.
You know, there's no explanation for it.
A ghost doesn't make sense.
A ghost isn't going to come up and stare in your window or bang on the house.
I don't think that's really ghost behavior.
That's more of a saskatch behavior.
I wanted to ask you, did you ever look around the property for tracks or the signs of them around your property at all?
Well, for the longest time, no, definitely not tracks, because I, like I,
said, I wasn't in a million years thinking that this was a Sasquatch. I mean, I thought, you know,
that was the furthest thing from my mind. We did, I know the incident where my nephew saw the
thing in the window, we did go out the next day and look around to see if we could kind of
see where it went or what kind of, you know, still wondering, I still half expecting to see
like some bootprints or something, you know, from someone had been staying, but there was
nothing there. There was nothing. Do you guys still have incidences happening today on that property,
or is it pretty much done with? Yeah, my dad passed probably a little less than 10 years ago.
Before he passed, he had sold the property, and I haven't been out there since then. So I don't know.
I don't know. Like, I mean, it might be interesting to maybe someday, you know, I don't want to be that
guy that just shows up at someone's house and was like, hey, I used to live here and there was a
Sasquatch.
Have you had anything?
You know, I don't want to do that.
But I kind of often wonder, you know, if the people there are having anything
going on there.
No, I understand.
I understand what you mean.
I mean, it's hard.
I understand completely.
You don't want to be the crazy guy that shows up.
Although I'm sure they've experienced some strange stuff, whoever bought that property.
What do you think Sasquatch is, Ben?
What's your honest opinion?
Man, and I go back and forth.
You know, one day I'm like, it's just an animal.
It has some capabilities that we don't know because it's undiscovered.
And then other days I'm like, no, it's a demon.
It's some sort of like interdimensional thing.
And for the longest time, I would, it's like for instance with the show,
as soon as your guests would start talking about lights or like dimensions or whatever,
I would typically switch over because I was so close-minded to that stuff for
long. But the more I read about it and the more I hear about it, there are just more questions
than answers. But I have days where, you know, I'm like, it's not a matter of whether or not
they do exist. It's a matter of why does the government cover it up? And then I have days where I'm
like, I don't think the government covers it up. I think they're just as clueless as we are,
but that's why they won't come out and admit it because they don't know what it's.
it is, you know, if there's some animal out here and you kill it and it completely decays away
and a half hour and they have no way to explain that. I mean, I can see that being like,
oh, no, it just doesn't exist. And so I don't know. I mean, I go all over the place. There are days
where I think, you know, 20 years from now, scientists are going to be explaining to people like,
hey, this, you know, this is a blah, blah, blah, you know, and it's crazy because 20 years ago
people thought they were apes or aliens.
So, I mean, who's to say?
I mean, it would...
Yeah, I think it's hard to say.
I don't know.
I go back and forth.
Yeah.
It's hard to answer that question because it could be so many different things.
And I think all of us go through what you just said.
I mean, I think all of us are, you know, it's nothing more than just an ape.
And then the following week, you're like, I don't know.
A lot of weird things going on with this.
I don't know about that ape theory anymore.
I think most people go through that.
And it is kind of fun to guess.
But, you know, I respect your answer.
I mean, like you said, it's hard to say, man.
I mean, when you hear encounters, it sounds very much like an animal we haven't caught up with.
Then sometimes you'll hear other encounters and you're like, I don't think this thing's an animal.
I don't know what this thing is.
I go through it too.
So, I mean, I understand what you mean.
It's a fascinating account, though, man.
I really enjoyed hearing it.
and I really appreciate coming on and sharing it.
Hey, it was my pleasure, Wes.
Like I said, a longtime fan of the show.
And, you know, I love hearing other people talk about their encounters.
And I really love that you have so many intelligent people that come on and talk about their encounters
because it just, that helps, you know, it gives credence to everything, not that any of us need any kind of validity, you know.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
I experience that you know something's out there.
but it always feels good to know that someone else, you're not the only person experiencing something.
Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
Thank you again, man.
I really appreciate you coming on.
Hey, my pleasure.
Anytime.
And that's it for tonight.
