Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:564 Visitor On The Farm
Episode Date: July 21, 2019A listener writes "So this started in the summer of 1982 in Yamhill County Oregon my parents were divorced and me and my sister had gone out to visit my dad for the summer. Now we'd only been there a ...few days and one of our chores was to go up to the barn and feed the cows about 1/2 Mile to a quarter mile away. On the way back now mind you we had dogs that darted in and out of the trees and they were real low pine trees low to the ground and the dogs are really friendly mid-size dogs. Anyway on the way back in the clearing we were walking through the clearing and out from the pine trees that were so thick you couldn't see through someone/something tossed a rock at us. Now it wasn't a big rock it wasn't throwing overhand it was like an underhand toss. My dad was at work my dad's girlfriend had just come out of the house because we could hear the door slam. We were way back in the woods and nobody around really known we were there yet so for somebody to be screwing with us it was highly unlikely. Anyway after the rock came out at us the dogs that would usually lick someone to death if they showed up at the house come shooting out from the trees and surrounded us and herding us down the Hill. Well we didn't think nothing of it too much, I mean it was weird but we didn't know what to think you know I was 12 my sister was eight. So the summer wore on and we hear strange sounds coming out of the forest I thought it sound like a woman screaming my sister thought it sounded like a howl but we also hear it sounded like a baseball bat hitting something. Well I decided to stay and live with my dad for a year ,my sister went home in the late summer. We had a spring that ran through the yard that kind of just made it a little muddy I went by there one day to feed the horse and in the mud it look like a huge footprint. I went and got my dad and he wouldn't even look but when I got down on the ground and looked at the footprint I could see ridges like you would see you in your handprint but only in a footprint. So I went up to the barn and I went to check on the horse well the horse was nosed into a corner and had been there all night it looked like she had kicked up the dirt like she was trying to fight something off and she had scratches but I couldn't tell what they were. The dogs on the other hand wouldn't let me go in the barn and my dad seen this and became very angry cuz he's just wasn't a nice person. When he got up there the dogs ran off cuz they knew better and we went up in the barn and I had left the big doors open where you load hay in when you stock the barn. But something had been up there and made like a nest out of a bunch of the Bales , it was real easy to get in the barn from the big doors my dad could jump from the hill into the barn because it was that close, it was just wide enough for pickup. Well as a summer wore on i heard lots of weird noises coming out of the forest and you know you would think you would see something but you really didn't or get the feeling of being watched. About mid-January the coyotes started howling and they would start howling every night about 10 and our dogs would run out in the backyard and bark And howl and carry on. Well this particular night the dogs come plowing back in underneath the porch. Now they would crawl under there and they'd make a lot of noise and see I slept in the basement by the window by the porch so I always heard when they were making noises and this night they were whining and hiding and trying to get farther up underneath the porch and I rolled over to grab a shoe to bang on the cement wall to get them to shut up and as I looked into the window there was Bigfoot staring at me right in the face 4 feet away and I have had that image burned into my mind since I was 12 years old. I tried to scream I couldn't scream I freaked out threw the blanket over my head seems like forever but was probably only a minute or two went to look again and he was gone. So at first I thought maybe I was imagining things so I looked out my window and I could see the footprints by the window I was a size 8 in men's as a twelve-year-old already and this was a good twice the size of my foot. I thought this was going to be it at last I'll show Dad in the morning cuz I didn't dare wake him up in the middle of the night cuz he would have beat my ass. But as bad luck would have it it started raining. Now I got a real good look at this bigfoot because the porch light was on the Barnyard light was on so I got a really good look at his face I guess I couldn't tell you about the hands of the chest all I could tell you is the face the eyes are so human-like the bridge above his eyes and his mouth and nose. I have a real close picture that's really close that I'll send to you in an email that I found somebody drew or whatever that's about real close to what I seen. so I tried to tell my dad the next day but of course you blew me off and as spring started coming about March and April. now my dad was a guy that got stressed out a lot and he got mean when he was really stressed 1 of his ways to deal with it as he would go walk in the woods. He would be gone a minimum of 3 hours and one time he was gone almost 12 hours. This particular time he'd been gone only 45 minutes he come back in the house he told his girlfriend I wasn't allowed to go outside he grabbed his 30/30 rifle and a 45 Long Colt pistol and said he had seen something and would be back. he never did say what he seen but after that I wasn't allowed to go back out by myself in the woods. I have had some other experiences in different states but not like this."

Black thing go from left to right, and I thought, I'm going to die out here and no one's ever going to know.
I couldn't believe what my eyeballs was showing me.
I'll never forget how evil the eyes were.
It was horrible.
I mean, I've never seen nothing that evil.
It ran towards me at a rate that I can't even explain, turned and stared at me.
And this look of, I just want to kill you.
I want to say it was human, but it wasn't.
He was yelling at me to grab a gun, grab a gun.
I was like, for what? He said, just grab a gun.
And there's footprints all the way to the door of my house.
It had went inside my garage all the way to the door.
911, what are you reporting?
Get somebody out here.
What's going on now, sir?
That son of a bitch is about six foot nine, I don't know.
Do you see him now, sir?
Yes, I'm looking right at him.
You're listening to Sasquatch Chronicles.
Check us out online at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
If you've had an encounter, email me.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
We'll bring you on into the temps and we're all doing okay.
Wow, 750 degrees in He'll have been right now.
And 1,270 in Awatuki.
Now, I'm not authorized to evacuate Awatouki.
But this temperature seems pretty high.
Cave Creek is really good.
Yeah, Cade Creek Fountain Hills, they don't look good either.
And frankly, Wickenberg is a total loss.
Oh, my God.
You might as well just get out of anywhere along this 60 years.
A very warm surprise is starting to heat up as well at 1,300 degrees.
So, again, the safe spot seem to be Chandler and Mesa.
Scottsdale is doing okay so far.
But, you know, you're sort of surrounded by some pretty intense heat.
So, you know, again, I'm not.
your dad, but I would get out while you still can. I think steel boils at about this temperature. So
Cape Creek, there's probably nothing left up there right now. So don't even bother looting
up there. It's not going to be worth it. Gosh, it's hot out there. It's like burning up here
in the U.S. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. Got a great show planned
for you tonight. I think like a major heat wave hitting the U.S. right now. And it seems like no matter
who I talk to if it's West Coast, East Coast, everything in between, it's hot. And wherever you're
listening to the show, I hope you're in a nice, cool place, a little drink in your hand. We'll be
talking to Richard tonight. Richard comes to us from Nebraska. And growing up, he would visit his
father on his farm in Oregon, and he's going to go through it tonight, but a lot of weird things
were happening around the farm he couldn't explain until one night the creature had actually
come up to his window. We'll also be talking to Ashley. She recently went out with Todd Standing,
and I talked to Ashley off the air, and she said, you know, I didn't really have an opinion one
way or another about Bigfoot, if it was real or not. But she became a believer after seeing what
this thing come up to the trailer when she was out there. And then we'll also be talking to Mike.
Mike comes to us from Kentucky, and Mike had a very brief Sasquatch encounter when he was a teenager.
but what we're going to be mainly talking about tonight is this weird creature that flew in front of his truck.
And I'm hoping if there's other people out there that have seen something similar, that you'll come forward.
Because I don't know what he saw.
It's really bizarre.
If you've had an encounter or you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Mike to the show. Mike, thanks for coming on.
Thanks, Wes. Thanks for having me.
Yeah, I appreciate you being here. And I know there's a couple things we're going to talk about tonight.
I'm really fascinated by that orange creature you saw. Before we get into that, now you grew up in Kentucky, correct?
Yes. And tell me about the time, what were you out hunting and you had seen the creature or got a glimpse of something?
No, as I told you earlier, as teenagers, didn't have a lot to do, especially where we live, not a lot of stuff to go on.
So we just like to get out at nighttime, run through the woods after dark, late at night.
Basically, we just to see what we could see.
And one night until we were out, probably around 11, 12 o'clock at night during the summer while school was out.
this gravel road takes you through a
I guess a game reserve
and on the way back
through the game reserve
this creature got behind us
or something did
and it sounded like it was walking
pretty heavy
we heard it
a little piece back
and we turned around to see what it was
and whatever it was
I guess darted off the road into the woods
we continued walking
and just a few minutes later,
it gets back on the road behind us,
and it's following us again,
and we get almost to where we're at home,
and we turn around,
and I see this creature,
you know, I'm pretty tall.
I'm six foot two.
I had to look up at it,
and look like it would be somewhere around that seven-foot mark.
And it just darts into the woods and crashes,
and, you know, you can hear limbs breaking,
and, you know, it moves off pretty fast.
Kind of scared us, you know, been 15 or 16.
We just, you know, get back to the house and ponder what it is.
Go back off the next day and to where the creature had gone into the woods.
And, you know, you see pine saplings and pine limbs broke down from the trees where it went to the trees in a hurry.
can you describe what you saw do you remember i realize this is all happening relatively quick
and many years ago but from your from your memory do you remember what what you saw
just it's a tall creature i can remember being uh tall wide um just thick that's the best
way to describe it was a very thick creature uh couldn't see a lot of details on it i just remember
it was you know thinking maybe it was a bear you know it was so well
It was so big, maybe the bear standing up, but of course, the bear was not going to walk any distance on two feet.
But it was very, very stocky.
Yeah, I get so many reports out of Kentucky.
It's amazing.
I was telling you I get all kinds of weird, even beyond Bigfoot.
I mean, Bigfoot's weird enough, don't get me wrong, but I get a lot of just odd, odd things coming out of Kentucky.
And so many years later, actually this happened recently, you were driving to,
Tell us what you had seen.
Yeah, this is actually a couple weeks ago.
Me and my wife and my two daughters, we were, you know, school was out again,
and we'd like to get out, and especially at nighttime and drive these back roads here in Kentucky
and see what animals we can see, deer, you know, owls and snakes and stuff like that that come out at night.
And we'd found a place that hadn't been to, and we wanted to go to maybe just see what we could see.
these miles and miles of gravel roads, no traffic.
And it's right about almost dark.
And just enough where your life has to come on your truck.
And as we're traveling, this wing creature just flies down, you know,
five to six inches in length, I would say.
And it flies in front of the truck and just stops and hovers and just zips back on us
and just tucks its wings and just back to the sky.
I've never seen anything like it.
It's kind of a first for me.
It glowed an orange,
had an orange glow to it.
It looked like,
you know,
like if you had a ball with a battery unit that you could turn on
and it would glow in the dark,
that's what it looked like.
I mean, it just,
but I never seen anything that would fly.
Like I said,
it flew right in front of the truck
and looks like it just stopped.
and, you know, like he's about to get hit and just started back up.
Was it glowing like a lightning bug?
Is that kind of what you're describing or was it just orange?
No, it was just an orange glow.
It wouldn't blink and it was just a luminescent glow to it.
And, you know, I had to girls and I can remember hitting brakes.
And I said, did you all see that?
And, you know, my youngest daughter says the orange glowing thing in front of the truck.
I said, yeah.
And my wife was like, like, well, we're going to say anything.
because I didn't want you think I was crazy, but, you know,
everybody in the truck seen it.
And it was, it's just really crazy to what it come out.
Yeah, and again, I've never heard that before.
I'm sure there's someone out there listening who has heard this before,
but was it an outline of like a person with wings?
Was it an outline of like a bird, or was it just like a ball with wings?
Can you kind of describe what it looked like?
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, just like said, it had this orange glow around.
it. And when it
stopped in front of the truck and
hovered just for a split second,
you could make the outlines of the wings.
And it's like it tucked the wings to its body
and just darted out.
Couldn't see a face. I couldn't see legs or anything
like that, but you could see there was a body mass
in between the wings.
And, you know, this is right at dark.
And it just zipped away.
And just like it had been caught.
Like, you know, you weren't supposed to see me.
And as quick as there, it was gone.
We've went back just about every night, you know, just how curiosity, trying to figure out what it is, trying to recreate it.
We've seen anything else that resembles it.
And I've seen nothing.
We've seen baths.
We've seen birds.
We've seen large moss, but nothing that would glow orange or, you know, that can replicate what we saw.
Yeah, that's interesting.
So it didn't use its wings to take off.
it sound like it tucked them up and just took off straight up.
Yeah, just as it.
I mean, it was up and gone in a hurry.
You know, and I can remember the feeling, you know, when we saw it,
just maybe 100 yards of the road is our turnoff to go on a scruffle row we wouldn't see.
And just the air, the atmosphere, everything changed,
and just didn't feel like it was a safe place to be.
And I remember us leaving.
You know, the girls like, well, what's going?
Maybe nothing will happen.
But me and my wife both felt like it just wasn't a good place to be, and we left the area.
And going back several nights, you know, I'm not really experienced that feeling again.
But, you know, still go back, trying to wonder what it was.
Yeah, curiosity gets you, doesn't it?
Yeah, it does.
Especially when you can't explain it.
It just, it was the first in 44 years I've never seen.
anything like that.
And it was pretty amazing.
What do you think it was?
Honestly, I don't know.
We've researched,
I've been all over YouTube.
We,
you know, tried to connect,
you know,
what's out there that could possibly be.
And as crazy it sounds,
the only thing that we can come up with
it goes back to is some type of ferry.
You know, I don't know much about the fairy lore and things like that.
But I know there is a huge story goes with them.
Yeah, it's a bizarre story, especially when we really start looking into the history of fairies.
I mean, it sounds like they're talking about aliens is what they're talking about.
But, you know, when we think of fairies today, we think of, you know, Tinkerbell or something like that.
that's bizarre man it's really bizarre i don't even know what to say about that you'll have to let me know
if you go back if you see it see it again it makes me wonder what it was i've just never heard
anything like that before yeah i definitely will i mean it's uh it's the most times when
you wish you had dash cam you know where you could record it and uh you know even now as we
travel back we've been back like said every night that uh been available to us and just to see
you know, if we can recreate it, then my wife
were recorded on her phone, just the trip
in that section just to see if we can pick anything
back up.
So, yeah, it was definitely experience.
Yeah, and you said it was about five or six inches apart.
Would you say it was bigger than, like, a grown man's hand?
About the size of a man's hand.
That'd be pretty accurate.
It wouldn't, like I said, it wasn't a very big object,
but it was big enough to where you know it wasn't a bug,
you know it wasn't, you know it wasn't, you know it wasn't, you know,
it wasn't a bat.
Because, you know, I've seen bats and dark, I've watched them,
but I've never seen one just be able to stop at midair and for a split second,
and then just take off like it did.
And like I said, I could see the wings, and, you know, as it took him to its side,
I mean, it was just gone.
Yeah, and bats don't glow orange either.
No, no.
It sounds like it moved like a hummingbird, but, you know,
hummingbird wouldn't have caused any sort of alarm to you.
I mean, you've probably seen hummingbird your whole life, you know what I mean?
It's real bizarre.
It's really bizarre.
Yeah, we have them around the house.
I've never seen a hummingbird that would do anything like this.
And it's orange glow is what just really throws it apart from everything else.
It's just really weird and then the uncomfortable feeling that we had.
I mean, it was just, you know it was time to leave there, whatever it was.
And it just wasn't a good feeling.
We used up over half the night trying to figure out and, you know, what it was and still trying to figure out what it was.
And I would love to hear some stories of, you know, of what it might be.
Yeah, absolutely.
Hopefully people come forward if they've seen something very similar.
Well, I have you and you had your encounter when you were young.
what do you think that Sasquatches, Mike?
I know you've been listening to the show for a while.
What's your opinion?
And you know there's no wrong answer.
Yeah, I really don't want what it is.
I don't think anybody really knows what it is.
Whatever it is, I think it makes itself known when it wants to be known.
You know, after having my experience, I remember hunting and stuff and, you know,
getting that feeling of being watched after it happened.
Just when I do, I leave the areas.
I don't stick around very long.
I just think it's a creature that doesn't, you know, when it wants to be seen,
it'll be seen, and when it wants to be found.
It'll eventually be found.
Do you think it's more of a wild animal, or do you think it's more human?
I don't think it's a wild animal.
I think it has too much intelligence.
He understands what's going on and what's going on around it.
You know, I've listened to other people's encounters and, you know,
and what they think it is.
It's evidently it's intelligent enough to make itself scarce enough where, like I said, you can't find it.
You can't find it unless it wants to be found, or it won't reveal itself to you unless it wants to rebuild itself to you.
I don't think it's something that, you know, I was fascinated with it and kept going back and looking.
It's one of those things where I don't necessarily think it's one of those creatures you want.
to go look for.
In case, you know, it can basically do what it wants to to you if it wants to.
So I just kind of leave that the phenomenon alone.
And, you know, hopefully someday that we'll understand more what it is.
Well, with you guys going back out, keep me up to date.
Let me know if you see that thing again.
I definitely will.
I wish I had an answer for you.
you. I really don't know what you saw. You know, it's, it's, um, I hear a lot of strange things off
the air and I'm like, I have no idea what you saw. I mean, and yours is pretty, pretty normal,
really for some of the stuff I hear. Um, but that glowing part and the way it flew and the way
it took off, it really makes you wonder what the world was that thing. I, I want to know.
I'd go out in the, I'd go out in the truck with you. I want to know what it is. It's definitely a
first for me. You know, it's an experience.
and maybe the only experience I ever have in my lifetime was something like that.
And, you know, it's nice to have experienced it.
And I don't know if I'm experienced again, but I'm definitely curious about what it is.
And, yeah, I definitely, we go back to see what it is,
and see if we can see anything possible in what we can see.
Well, I appreciate coming on, Mike.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for having me.
Welcome Ashley to the show.
Ashley, thanks for coming on.
I really appreciate you being here.
You're welcome.
Yeah, all the way from Canada.
And before we get started, I know we talked about this off the air,
but what was your opinion of Sasquatch before you went out with Todd, you know, just in general?
Yeah, so I've actually watched a lot of documentaries just regarding the species.
However, I didn't not believe it or I didn't believe it at the time.
I mean, I've never seen one before to have my personal opinion on it.
So, I mean, going out there, I was pretty open-minded to the whole idea.
That's cool.
And so you go out with Todd and kind of walk us into what happened.
I mean, I only have bits and pieces of the encounter.
I haven't watched the whole thing yet.
But if you would, would you just kind of start from the beginning.
Tell us what you were doing and walk us into what happened.
What did you see?
Okay.
Yeah, so we went out there and I think we got there about 8, 8 p.m.
So when we landed, got to the campsite, we were starting to fire and just unpacking
and just kind of standing around the fire, the sun was going down.
And I could hear some really loud calls from mountain to mountain.
It was, the sound was kind of in between like a wolf howl and like a gorilla.
It's how I kind of explain it.
It sounded like a really large male and either like a young male or female from complete opposite
mountains. So I heard that and Todd and I were confirming that and and that that was a that was
the first for me. However, Todd does do a, um, a Sasquatch call every time he gets there to let them
know they're there. So that about an hour later that they did that call back. Um, and then while
we were sleeping, we went to bed and I was in the back of the trailer where the trailer's lower
down. There's a tiny window. It's like a bunk bed. Um, and when I was sleeping throughout the night,
I heard this big sound that woke me up. It was like a yee. That's like that sound it made around
the back of the trailer. And when I looked up at the window, like I literally like snapped up.
And when I looked up at the window, there was a Sasquatch face like right in my window.
And I freaked out and I yelled Todd, like Todd's name.
So he was on the opposite side of the trailer and he was not, he's fighting a cold the last three weeks.
So he had taken some cough medicine.
So he was like snoring out cold.
So I was like, should I get up and should I get him up?
And then at that point I was kind of worried that the Sasquash was maybe going to freak out and bang on the trailer or something.
I had no idea.
It was my first encounter.
So I, at that point, I just kind of stayed quiet underneath my eyes.
sleeping bag and I also had a flashlight and when I made the click of a flashlight like I was going to get out of bed because Todd didn't wake up.
The Sasquatch kind of like moved his head from like looking at me to looking at the flashlight to kind of moving back and I was like holy cow like there's something black and hairy staring in my window at me.
So then I just kind of like pulled the sheets the covers over my eyes.
you know, kept looking down.
I'm like, am I really seeing this, right?
So the next day, as soon as Todd woke up, I was like, do not leave the trailer.
There's going to be footprints out there.
Like, there might be evidence of something out there.
So when I woke up, I told him that.
And, yeah, so we went out there and investigated and we found a big footprint.
And we found fingerprints on the trailer where he was looking in the trailer windows.
So at first time, I didn't even know if he should believe me.
He's like, what?
I never have anyone see Sasquatch as their first time, their first, like, few hours being out here.
So I just think that they're really interested in females.
Yeah, they are.
You're right.
Females and small children, they seem to be very interested in, which makes me personally a little nervous.
But when you were looking out the window, can you describe for the audience?
what you're seeing. I realize it's probably dark and you're seeing someone's, you know,
what appears to be someone standing out there. Yeah. But can you describe what you saw?
Yeah. So the trailer is actually fairly low. So I actually thought it was maybe like a baby
Sasquatch or something as it was like kind of moving into the window. It was just a head,
just a big round fuzzy head I seen. And it was just black. Like it was so black. It was like
blocker than the night, like the outer line of it. So when it popped, when it moved into the window,
I was like, holy cow, there's something right in my window. However, I could see the head moving.
Like I said, like when I clicked my flashlight, I could see it kind of swivel its head. So I literally,
my chest was, my heart was just pounding. Like the deepest adrenaline you can get, it was like that.
I was scared shitless.
I didn't really know if it was going to like pound through the window or, you know,
like I didn't really know the intentions of these species, right?
So, so that really freaked me out a little bit.
However, after it stood there for a long time, like it was literally there what felt to be a minute or two,
I started to really calm down and just realized it was just to really, you know, like a bear,
if you see a bear, it would kind of muffle around and start scratching at things.
move around and a saskwatch just like it literally just stood there so then at that point
I was just kind of like peeking up and down through my sleeping bag and I was like okay like I don't think
this thing's here to hurt me you know my adrenaline just totally calmed down I just kind of sat there
so I eventually went back to bed it took me like an hour or two to go back to bed I bet but yeah so
then the next and then the next morning is when we found all that that was evidence so we still have
covered up the foot the footprints the fingerprints and uh so we're going to be using that for
evidence right try and get fingerprints from it so i'd touch the van that you guys were in the trailer
that you guys were in did you how big were the tracks i mean what are some of the things
obviously found tracks and yeah and fingerprints but how big were the tracks the next morning
when you guys got up and got out right so the tracks are um and we were also trying to
there's another after that we've seen where we actually physically seen in on
the monocular, the night monocular.
So we were trying to figure out the height of it.
So it was actually a lot bigger than what we thought it was.
The track is, it's not the biggest Sasquatch footprint we've seen,
but we think it's about like a teenager one.
Like Todd was trying to guess the age of it with the height that we had and the footprint
and the head shape.
So he was trying to figure out the head shakes.
I know when they're older males, they have more cone-shaped heads.
and then when they're younger males, they seem to have rounder, rounder features.
So we think it's about a teenager.
So, yeah.
So it's not the biggest one that we've seen, but.
You know, it seems like the younger ones seem to be more balzy.
They'll come up and do stuff like that.
Rarely do you ever hear of like an older one or a really big one really coming in,
curious like that.
Yeah.
So that wasn't the only thing that happened out on that trip.
You said monocular.
Do you mean like night vision?
Is that what you mean?
Yeah, no, that was just the beginning of the weekend.
So he came around every single night.
So we were there for four nights.
And every single night, he came around.
So we figured out he was the only male.
We figured it was a male coming around.
So you would come out through the tree lines.
We're kind of wrapped around.
The trailers kind of stuck in a little small opening area.
And there's just a tree line that wraps around.
up in a hills. So it was a perfect area for them to kind of move in, whether it was they or one,
we're not quite sure, but we know that there's the one that's moving in particularly close to
the trailer. So the next night, he, he, we heard them out through the back, and then we were sitting
by the fire. My back was turned towards them. He came around in front of us, and he made it
loud, extremely loud, like groan, like a gorilla grown, like a gorilla grown, like grr, like that.
So it was like so deep and I couldn't tell if he was like 10 feet away or 20 feet away.
But it was directly through like eye contact through the fire from us.
So and then that night he was also throwing things at the trailer, sticks and pine cones.
and yeah, it was interesting trying to get my attention all night.
What was your opinion on it?
I mean, you're new to the subject, and so is it like, let's get the hell out of here,
or let's see what happens next type of things?
Well, when he was outside and he made that groan, I kind of just put my eyes down,
like I didn't directly make eye contact up there through the bushes,
and Todd's just like, easy, easy big guy, you know?
And I'm like, oh, man, and Todd explained to me that that's,
not a threatening sound it's a um like it's like when you give a girl a banana they make grunchy noises
because they like like it so i'm like okay well maybe maybe he he likes what he sees with me you know i have
the dark features right so um but yeah so later that night he kept trying to get attention which was
weird because the trailer is full of all this dust right so we kept hearing things bang on the back
of the trailer but we couldn't see any any more fingerprints or any
like and handprints so we realized that he was throwing little sticks and uh pine cones at the
trailer to try and wake me up and so um so that was happening in the next two nights and then the last
night is when he came around so i decided to change the way that my bed was so i was sleeping this way
so i couldn't see him come around the back of the trailer so i decided to change the way i slept and
and slept yesterday so I could see everything he was doing behind the trailer.
So as I was setting my bed up that last night,
I kicked the back of the trailer and he made too loud bang sounds.
Like on the back, like on the very top of the trailer with two fists,
because I accidentally kicked the back that kind of, you know.
And I don't know if he was there and that startled him or if it made him mad or if he,
He was standing right there behind the trailer.
I had no idea.
But I just told Todd, I just said,
that wasn't me, that wasn't me, that wasn't me that made that sound.
So I freaked out and I looked out my window and I seen him like his whole body right through the side.
Like me to him right there come around the trailer.
And I flew out of bed on my hands.
I was like on my hands and he hit the ground.
Like once he's seen me and I seen him,
we both did like the exact same thing like he hit the ground and i hit the ground and i'm like
todd oh my god he's like right there so then todd came flying from the back of the trailer to the
front the way that he went down on the ground was like the way a humid would a human would if
they were startled with something and like that's and like we were both kind of peeking up at each other
then he moved back we got out the monocular we watched him walk back into the tree line
and he was kept crossing when I thought, which I see throughout the night when I was watching them,
crossed down through the tree line to the river.
We were just watching their pattern.
So he was up through the tree line and down through the river.
So we watched him for about an hour and two.
And yeah, there was a Sasquatch and we found another footprint up in the tree line the next day too.
Do you have any plans on going back?
Yeah, I'm actually getting ready to go back right now.
So we have an expedition.
I'll be out there.
Todd's heading up there now.
I'm hitting up there.
I'm heading up there.
They'll be there tomorrow morning.
So that's the plan right now.
Well, be careful.
You know, I realize it seems like playful behavior.
Yeah.
But you just never know.
We don't know, despite what anyone tells you, we don't know enough about them and their behavior.
And I've seen playful behavior.
I've talked to, I can't even tell you how many witnesses now.
It's in the thousands.
And sometimes it starts off playful, and then sometimes it doesn't become play.
The whole atmosphere changes for no reason.
And I've heard that time and time again.
But, you know, I mean, it is, it's fun, isn't it?
I mean, it's curious.
It's like, it's something you've never seen before.
It's something you never hear before, you know?
It's definitely playful.
That's what I would get from it.
Although, once there's a trailer not around you, I think that's when it gets a little scary.
Yeah.
So, like right now there's just a trailer between us.
And we don't have to go looking for them in the mountains.
You know, they're coming down into the trailer.
So I think that we feel kind of safe at that point.
But we're like we're not really sure what they want, you know,
like if it's looking for a mate or if it's just interested in a female, you know,
there could be lots of things.
So we're just, you know, we're definitely being safe out there, that's for sure.
And keeping our distance and just doing, you know, discovering trying to keep a good arm's length between us.
So.
What do you think that, what do you think that Sasquatch is, Ashley?
What's your opinion?
What do you think that these things are?
And there's no wrong answer.
I mean, because no one knows, you know what I mean?
I would say that it's like gorilla and human.
like I would say they're native. Yeah, they come from the native side, but they're, they're, like, so much like human, but they're so much like gorilla, like the way they move and, you know, like their long walks and just the way they are. There's still a, there's still a species, but it's not like, like, the way I viewed it and seen it. It's not like you would go see a grizzly bear on the mountains or a mountain lion, right, where you feel like it's prey. It's like you got, they're only, you're,
almost a little bit like us humans.
So they're very different to view, that's for sure.
They are different.
They're definitely different.
But you have to come back on.
Let me know, since you guys are heading back up,
yeah, I'd love to have you back on.
Give me an update on what's going up there, will you?
Yeah, I think it'll be very interesting trip again up there.
So we're trying to see if they can take some apples from us,
from all the apples we've left and see if we can do some, you know,
have some more communication with them.
So we're trying to get creative with how we do things now.
You should get Todd to put a baby crying on a loop and sound blast it.
Okay.
They will come in.
May not get the response you want, but they will come in.
Okay.
I will keep that in mind.
All right.
Well, I appreciate you coming on.
Great.
Well, thanks for having me.
I'm Richard to the show.
Richard, thanks for coming on.
Hi, how are you doing?
I'm doing well.
I'm doing well.
Thank you again for.
being here, and I know your encounter took place in Oregon. If you would, would you just kind of
start from the beginning. Tell us what you're doing and walk us into what happened?
Well, my folks were divorced, and my dad lived in Oregon, and every summer we would go out to visit
him wherever at the time he was living. Well, at this time, he was living in Yamhill County,
Oregon. And we flew out there, and we were given chores to do. And one of our chores,
was walking up to the woods to a more and about a quarter to a half a mile away up in a pasture,
feeding the cows, and then walking back.
Well, we've been here a few days, and we're on our way back, me and my sister,
getting through the clearing, and we had some dogs, or my dad had some dogs,
and there are playful dogs, and they were darting in and out underneath the tree,
and with the pine trees, they had branches
weighed almost to the ground.
So they dart in and out of there
and chase each other and circle us
and go here and there.
Well, about halfway through the clearing,
we're walking along,
and a rock comes out at us.
Like somebody had tossed a rock
underhand out at us.
And I was like, what's going on here?
well about right after that happened
the dogs shot out from underneath the trees
and circled me and my sister
and kind of like they were trying to
hurt us down the hill
now
you know
somebody might think well maybe somebody was messing with you
but we were kind of back up in the mountains
in the hills
the nearest neighbor was probably a mile away
nobody really knew we were there.
We heard my dad's girlfriend come out of the house
because the screen door banged.
And my dad was at work.
So, you know, being 12 and 8 years old,
we really didn't know what to think,
but just let the dogs take us home.
So as the summer's going by,
we would hear knocking and screams,
knowing now that they were screens,
I guess I didn't know what they were before.
And my dad just said there was nothing and nothing.
So my sister goes home later in the summer,
and I decided to stay and live a year with my dad
because, you know, one of them deal that happened,
we had a little spring that run through the yard behind the house.
Well, one day I'm headed up to the other barn to feed the horse,
and I looked down and in the mud as a footprint.
So I ran and got my dad.
He wouldn't even look at it.
But I ran back over there and I looked and I got down and you could see the dermal ridges like a handprint in this footprint.
I mean, it was just incredible.
So I get back up and go up towards the barn.
I find the horse and she is nosed in the barn.
It's an open-sided barn on the bottom.
she's nosed in the corner and she's looked like she's kicked up the dirt like she's been
fighting something awful night and um well i didn't think much of it never scratches on her
and you know it was in the woods and blackberry bushes i thought maybe they were from that
so i go to go in the door to climb the ladder to go up up to the upper loss of the barn
well the dogs they wouldn't let me in they were growling and
putting themselves between me and the barn.
Well, my dad's seen this, and so he'd come marching up to the barn,
and the dogs finally took off because my dad wasn't a very nice guy.
So we go up into the barn to throw hay down,
while I had forgot to shove the big, big loft doors.
You know, these are probably 10, 12 foot tall doors.
And something had got in there and tore a bunch of bales up,
and it looked like a nest.
you know my dad blamed me for it but it wasn't me
and the loft doors
were facing towards the hill
and it was it was really narrow
there's only widened up where you can back a pickup
being loaded with a to throw up there
my dad could run and jump
he couldn't get all the way in but he could jump and catch the edge
and then climb the rest of the way in
so I got blamed for that and it was another oddity
So the winter goes by
And pretty much
Un-Aventful, I don't remember anything
That stands out, maybe Knox or something
Well, after Christmas, about mid-January, the coyotes
And they would run behind the house
And the dogs would go out
You know, bark at them, answer them, howl back at them?
Well, one night, about 10, 10, 15
they run out to meet the coyotes again.
About five minutes later, they come plowing back underneath the porch,
whining and whimpering.
Something had scared of my guess.
I understand it, I slept in the basement.
Okay, my window was round level right next to the porch.
So when the dogs are going to the porch,
you can hear them whine in or when you're in better moves,
they'd, you know, bark and screw around and make a lot of noise.
So I would grab a shoe and roll over and hit the wall, and they would quiet down.
So I grabbed a shoe to roll over to hit the wall, and I rolled over and looked out the window and bore feet from me.
What's Bigfoot looking right in my window?
I had never been so scared in all my life.
I couldn't even scream.
But it just looked at me, not like it was mean.
mad or mean or anything. You're just kind of a curious, curious thing. Its eyes, you know,
what's one of the bigger things to stand out where the eyes were human-like, the corneous.
And I could see all this because the porch light was on and the yard light was on down
by the garage. And its brow ridge was flat nose, pointed head. Its lips.
weren't quite ape-like but weren't
human either.
Its fur was dark.
Its facial skin
it wasn't tailed.
It an 80 grayish black.
And its head went to
I wouldn't say a sharp point, but to a cone.
Like I said, I was so scared. I couldn't scream.
I threw the blanket
over my head and it seemed like
forever. There's probably
only a minute or two.
And I took the blanket down.
So I got my flashlight.
I looked out the window.
And then I went outside.
So I thought, oh, great.
I can prove to my dad.
I'll show him in the morning because I didn't dare wake him up in the middle of the night.
And, well, as bad luck would have it, it started raining that night.
It's Oregon, you know.
I told my dad about it.
I'm sure I did.
And nothing really stood out again until about.
March or April.
Now, my dad got a lot of stress.
And one way he relieved the stress, he would go walk in the woods.
And he'd be gone for three hours.
So one time he was gone almost 12 hours.
So this particular Saturday, he takes off you.
I know he was stressed out, so he took takes off.
He goes for his walk.
About 45 minutes later, he comes back.
and he gets his 30-30 rifle in his pistol
and he tells his girlfriend that I'm not allowed to leave the house
and she's like what's going on and I'm like what's going on he says
nothing nothing well did you see something he goes I don't know what I see
he's off and has gone for it's allowed after that I wasn't allowed to go
out into the woods like I was before or go up to feed
the cows at the barn unless my dad's girlfriend was with us
And that's about, for the encounters we had, you know, at 12 years old, I didn't know what any of this knocking was or this stone stuff was until I got, until about 10 years ago.
But the image of that face will always be burnt into my mind.
I will never, ever forget that face.
Yeah, and the picture you sent me is very interesting to look at, you know, as far as what you saw.
But your impression at the time, would you say it was more human, or did you think it was more animal?
I mean, looking at the eyes, they were, you know, they were humans.
You know, you could just tell that, but the face wasn't, itself, you know, most of it wasn't covered with fur.
But just, you know, some of it.
More than a normal human, I just, I knew it wasn't an animal.
I knew it wasn't a bear because my dad's girlfriend's dad had a two-step.
the bear in their living room.
So I knew what that looked like.
I also knew what the footprints
looked like. And this was not
a bare footprint. And it's
you know, it's memory
now. I'm almost 49 years
old. And I
can remember that picture just as
clear as it was the night it happened.
Yeah, it never leaves
you, does it? It really never leaves you.
It's, uh, and for the
Oregon listeners, I mean, YAML
County now is all built
up, but back in the 80s, there was nothing out there. You were out in the sticks, especially in the
early 80s. Did you ever talk to your dad later in life and say, hey, you know, what happened
that night? No, not really. Kind of after that time, you know, we didn't spend a lot of time
together after that. We kind of drifted apart and he moved around a lot.
Um, he said he believed in Bigfoot.
But, you know, we never, I never really asked him if you ever seen it.
That being said, coming home like he did from his walk and grabbing everything and taking back off.
Leads me to believe he's seen something in the woods.
Yeah, it sounds like it.
What do you think their creature was doing?
Do you think it was just kind of curious?
Like, oh, there you are.
Or do you think it had malintent?
Yeah, you know, what's the story?
stone tossed, there was no sound.
So, you know, I'm thinking it was just curious to see what we were.
And when it looked in my window, like I said, it didn't appear to be malicious or just
like curiosity.
Like, what are, you know, what are you in there?
I don't, I never heard.
The screams we heard were like, I pertain it to like a woman's,
screaming at the top of her lungs, but, you know, I never heard, like, you know, something
that made me feel uncomfortable.
The dogs on the other hand, they were pretty scared, you know, and they weren't, they didn't
frighten easy and plowing under the porch.
So maybe it was looking, or go ahead, Richard, I'm sorry.
Dogs for food or something, or.
Well, that's just what I was thinking.
I wonder if it followed the dogs and then to get down, I know the type of home you're describing
to look in that window.
It would almost have to get down
to its belly, wouldn't it?
To actually look in?
You'd have to be kneeling, I would think,
or squatting.
Because I remember seeing
one hand on the ledge,
like it was holding itself.
I don't remember seeing the other hand.
I don't remember seeing
the rest of its body.
I just remember seeing its face.
You know, like it was,
like a curiosity,
like not,
you know, not like it was trying to, or like, I guess this way to put it would be a curiosity,
to staring in to see what's in there moving around.
Yeah, I bet you wish you could go back and not pull the covers over your head
and kind of examine it a little bit more.
Hindsight's 2020, you know, seeing more detail, you know, you kick yourself now and going,
geez, okay, well, what the fur on his arm looked like, what his hands look like?
You know, could you maybe guess?
And maybe, you know, I said, did kneel, but I was a kid and all I knew about was footprints.
You know, I didn't know to look for maybe, you know, something kneeling down on its knees or anything like that.
I just knew I found footprint and it wasn't anything that we had in our house.
Do you remember how big the footprints were?
That you saw, I mean, I realize we're going back many years, but I mean, were they like the size of your dads, or would you say bigger?
I wore a size eight men at 12 years old, and these footprints were about twice the size in my flight.
And lengthwise, um, width wise, I honestly don't remember. I'm thinking they were wider than my foot is long.
Um, I just remember how long it was.
and that you could see the toes.
They weren't like weird mutilated toes.
They were just, you know, like a toe, I guess, as you would call it.
You know, even the technology back then for plaster probably doesn't so good.
Like that took real good on the ground.
You know, none of the other kids at school ever said anything,
I don't know if they just kept quiet or because there was about five miles away.
There was a small group of houses that had had a bunch of kids in it.
So I always wondered if they had.
seen any year thing or heard anything.
But I don't know if they ever did.
Yeah, I bet you can empathize with people who have these things on their property.
Good or bad encounters, I bet you can definitely empathize for people who have these things
running around on their farms.
You know what I mean?
Chickens come up missing.
And a lot of times people just pass it off with, yes, coyotes, you know, you have your
normal predators that will come in and take stuff.
Right, right.
we didn't have chickens.
We had goats and pigs.
And none of them ever came up missing, I guess.
Any of the other places that were within a couple miles.
Always made me wonder, though, about what got up in the barn and made that nest.
Something had to be able to leap really good to get in there to keep warm, I guess,
or whatever it was trying to do.
So. Well, what's fascinating is I've heard that a lot from a lot of people. When they have farms, they'll say something with sleeping in the barn. It made a little like a guerrillas type nest in there and slept in there. So I think that they use, I think that they do use those as a place to kind of crash and sleep. You know, generally speaking on a farm, you're not in the barn every single day. What do you, what do you think that these things are, Richard? What's your opinion?
my opinion is I think they are a gigantopithecus somewhere between a chimps and us for that whole paranormal Bigfoot thing
not after what I think it's I think it's a living very intelligent yeah I definitely heard that
it's too bad about your dad it'd be nice to know what happened to him that day why I mean you can kind of
of gauge what happened to that day by his reaction, you know, running in, grabbing,
arming to the teeth and then telling no one they can lead the house.
He obviously saw something.
Yeah, what did he see?
That's the good...
I know he went in the direction of the clearing that me and my sister had the rock from
at us, so, I mean, maybe he had the same deal with the rock, and then he tried to investigate
it and something, you see something else and it spooked him.
And he wasn't easily spooked.
I mean, as far as I know as a kid, he wasn't afraid for very much.
Do you ever talk to your sister about what happened that day?
I know she didn't see the creature, but the rock throwing, have you ever discussed that with her?
Yeah, I kind of talked to her about it, and unfortunately she has a condition where her memory is deteriorated, or I would also have her on.
sometimes she can remember, sometimes she cannot.
So for the, you know, for the sake of someone trying to say, oh, see, she's, you know, trying to manipulate her story if she forget something.
No, I understand.
I'm sorry to hear that, too, about your sister.
Too bad, you know.
But, yeah, I mean, I just talked to her tonight after we had talked previously, and she remembered parts of her.
of it. She remembered hearing the wood knocks and the screams. So do a voice, record her voice
telling her story. Yeah, that's not necessary. That's definitely not necessary. And there was a lot
of reports. If you go to, you know, some of the BFR reports and stuff, there was a lot of reports
back then. I don't know that there's so much out there today because it's so built up. But it seems to
be we push them out of areas. You know of, um, uh, there's a town called battleground.
Really, even in Vancouver, Washington, there was reports of them down by Vancouver Lake.
You would never hear that today because there's too many, too many people around, but they're
definitely in the area and around the area. And, uh, it really is a fascinating account, you know,
that you got a chance to really see it, you know, and up close and see it up close.
in somewhat of a controlled environment,
I realize the window's not going to stop it
from coming to get you,
but didn't really seem like it really wanted a fight.
Just was kind of curious.
I probably would have done the same thing you did.
Even now being an adult,
I'd probably put the blankets over my head
and be like, go away.
Well, you know, I also think that's what makes it
an intelligent mammal,
that it's so adaptive.
You know, even like you're,
in Nebraska, we have sightings along the rivers.
And we don't have a lot of wood cover, but we have pockets of it.
And you hear the old people talk about it once in a while.
And I listen, I like to listen at coffee shop sometimes.
And heard a couple of stories that they've told.
And then you hear them sometimes being close to bigger cities around, say,
small settlements, you know, cluster of houses or six or seven houses, you know, they'll come in and
maybe steal a dog or cat or, like you said, Ray to Chish. So I think they're a very intelligent
creature, you know, deep down, I want to be vindicated and I want them to find Bigfoot and say,
there, I told you people, I've seen one, but then there's a part of me and think, you know,
if they find them, what's going to happen to them? Are they going to be exploited? You know,
So let's let them, you know, be, I guess,
and seeing, you know, pictures of them.
I've had a few encounters after that one as I got older.
Not actual visual sightings, but a couple things that happened
that were vindicated by other people.
So, you know, it's just a positive on it.
Um, was it sounds that you heard? Is that what you're talking about?
Well, see, last October, we took a dream hunt to Colorado up in the Rockies for about three in the morning.
And I heard some whoops now. Granted, there's a lot of things that make whoops in the forest.
So I didn't think much of it, but there was a camp about a quarter mile away.
And they stopped by in the morning and they thought we were messing with them.
Because they said about 1 o'clock in the morning, their big cabin tent started getting pelted with rocks.
I was like, oh, none of us, we're too lazy to walk down that far in the middle of the night through the forest to belt your tent with rocks.
So I just, you know, kind of makes me wonder, I know a lady that goes out to that area and has friends that research in that area.
And I had let her know what had happened.
and she come back and said, yeah, there, we've had incidents in that particular area, almost identical.
So I thought that was rather neat.
My son thought that was rather neat.
You know, I'm not a professional big foot hunter.
I like to, like I said, I poke around, listen to stories to some of the old folks that have property along the river.
And here's some of their stories, you know, you got to get used to know them real well.
they've got to get used to you because, you know, they don't like talking about it because, you know, everybody thinks they're crazy.
So I've heard some pretty interesting stories from even here in Nebraska.
Yeah, and I think people are getting hurt by these things.
I don't think it happens as much as you might think, but I think it does go on.
I don't know that we would drive him to extinction.
I think if they came out and said Bigfoot's real, you hear everyone in the Bigfoot community,
oh, they cry and moan, oh, my God, every hunter in the world's going to go out and blast them.
I don't see that happening.
I don't think that's going to happen.
So I don't know that so much will drive them to extinction, but it would be nice to warn people,
hey, before you go out, you know, I realize your encounter wasn't aggressive and it really was more curious.
But there is aggressive encounters.
And there's not, and again, there's really no rhyme or reason behind it.
It's like you just come across a Sasquatch that's in a bad mood and doesn't want to deal with you
and he's going to be aggressive with you.
And there has been people have been attacked, not as many as you might think, but there has been people have been attacked.
Or in your case where rocks are being thrown, I had a guy on one time from Florida, rocks are being thrown.
What do they do?
They pick up rocks and throw them back.
Situation goes south really quick.
And they don't even know what the hell is going on.
They think some guys up there throwing rocks at them.
So they pick up rocks and throw them back.
Turned out not to be a guy.
And they, you know, people were hurt in that situation.
So it would be nice to know if we knew more about them.
If you get in a situation to just leave, you know what I mean?
Right.
You know, sometimes I wonder if them attacks are juvenile or younger soft squashes that are testosterone-fueled, you know.
And with them when these attacks occur, you know, I just kind of, you know, theories out there makes you wonder.
I tend to agree with you.
I think they are more juvenile.
They're more younger.
A lot of times with the really big ones, they will bluff charge you.
They will do things, but they don't actually, generally speaking, they don't actually hurt you.
It does see, I do tender with you.
I think a lot of the younger ones do.
Maybe it's testosterone, I don't know.
Right.
You know, because, and I hate to make this comparison, but yet it would fit.
You know, look at the little land guerrillas.
You know, they'll bluff charge and make noises.
they'll do it quite a few times before they'll actually go in and, you know, physically try to bluff their way through it, I should say.
But the younger males will come down to, you know, that's why I always made me wonder.
Well, I think you're onto something there.
You know, I saw it in bars as I throwing people out.
A lot of the older guys will bluff you and they'll give you the resume and how big and bad they are before they do anything.
And you know full well, they're not going to do anything.
running their mouth. A lot of times
of the younger guys, they start swinging on you.
They're not going to say, too, they just start
swinging. And so there is,
I know it's another bad comparison, but
I think that comparison's fair.
You see it with a lot of Sasquatch encounters.
A lot of times when they come into camps
or they take things or come up and
look in windows, generally speaking,
I think that it's the younger ones doing it.
Right. That's my opinion,
which doesn't mean anything. But, you know,
that's the way I've heard
so many encounters and so
much on their behavior.
I think there is a difference in the behavior of an older one as opposed to a younger
male.
I think the younger male is going to take a risk.
The older male is not.
Just like a human male, you know.
Very much so.
I won't take on anybody.
But it's a great account, Richard.
I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share it.
I enjoyed hearing it.
It's too bad that the relationship with your dad went south.
It would have been nice to kind of figure out what he saw that day, what he experienced, you know what I mean, for him to freak out like that.
He said, he doesn't sound like a man.
Like you said, he's not scared of much.
And for him to come run in the house, get armed to the teeth, tell everyone they can't leave, run back out.
He must have seen something, more than just a bear anyway.
And bears aren't real common in that area.
No.
And according to my girlfriend's dad, he had shot the last bear.
supposedly in Yan'Hale County back in the 60s,
and that was the one that was stuffed in their living room.
And it wasn't near, you know, because for a black bear,
it wasn't very big.
Yeah, they're not.
I don't think it was the, you know.
And granted, I couldn't see how tall this one was, but I bet.
Yeah, definitely.
Well, thanks again, Richard, for coming on the show.
I really enjoyed speaking with you.
And that's it for tonight, everyone.
And remember if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email.
