Sasquatch Chronicles - SC EP:599 I Was Looking At This Creature
Episode Date: November 10, 2019Shiloh writes So I'm writing this because my uncle has urged me to do it. I had a big foot encounter when I was 17-18 driving home late one night. It was literally right in front of our farm. I've als...o had three other incidences where I've heard monkey sounds in our words and have been screamed out on two occasions When taking care of my uncles dogs. It always happens the same time of year. And I'm getting ready to take care of my uncle's dogs again and I figured I would say something at this point because it's pretty much like clockwork that the same things happen. My uncle also had an encounter while burning Grass along his Fence line." Melissa writes "In December of 2017 I saw a being from my back porch. I have told no one but my husband and I only told him because I wanted to protect him, make him aware to be on guard. And then I didn't even tell him exactly what I saw, just to be careful because I saw a shadow of a huge animal about 150 feet from our house. My mind was overwhelmed and for a long time I called it a shadow but, in reality it was the creature I was looking at. It doesn't feel right to call it a Sasquatch or a bigfoot, It looked and felt way to ominous to be just an undiscovered hairy hominid. It was early December, possibly late November, around 7:30 pm, dark outside except for an exceptionally bright moon, they mentioned the bright moon on the news earlier and that was the only way I would have seen it. My husband was going somewhere and I walked out talking to him as he was leaving, I glanced to the right and saw it and to this day I have no idea what I was saying at the time, I stopped talking and just stared. The next thing I remember is looking up at my husband and he was looking down at me like, well, go on, what is the matter with you? We talk about everything but, all I could do was say, be careful, I love you, have a good time. He looked at me funny and said ok. I watched him get in his truck and leave, to make sure he wasn't out there and I couldn't see it anymore, so I went inside and locked the door. I could only see it from the bottom of his bicep up, a huge bicep, I kept focusing on that. Because the moon was shining on the white siding of a building next door. Here's the thing that shuts me up, the siding was only on the second story of that building, above a garage door opening where, now abandoned, big trucks were stored. I am trembling now. Dear God, how tall does that make it? The shadow was the darkest black I have ever seen and the whole silhouette was that same color. The only movement was from side to side, like it was gliding on a skateboard. It had a protruding brow ridge and mouth and the nose was completely flat in between, it was a side view.

I worked for years trying to build a decent show for people to listen to.
I remember when I had 10 listeners.
These new podcasts show up, and overnight they have a large audience.
By the way, the Paranormal Portal podcast is number eight in the category of natural sciences in Australia right now.
Or it was earlier.
I don't know.
It's real volatile.
It goes up and down a lot.
And Sasquatch Chronicles was number seven.
So we're right there, neck and neck with Mr. West Germar, which is a real honor.
How could this have happened?
Time to execute Operation Jangle.
It always takes everybody just a little time to get used to a house.
But I got a call here, so let's get to this call and find out what's going on.
All right, anonymous caller, you are on the air.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that it's official.
There's a race of alien women who are abducting men with big peckers.
Now, you're not in any danger.
All right.
Thanks for that call.
I appreciate that.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Okay, let's move along.
What's next?
Yeah, he was talking about their beak.
I'm sure, Ken, that's what it was.
There were woodpeckers, I think.
They're abducting woodpeckers.
We've got to stay focused on where we are,
not so much where we've been,
but we can draw strength from where we've been.
We've got a phone call right away here,
so let's get to the phones.
Hello, Anonymous.
You are blocked in...
Hello?
Hello?
Hi.
Are you there?
I am there.
Okay, hold on one second, please.
Okay, I'm back. Are you there? Hello?
So far, I'm here.
Hello, can you...
Okay, okay, okay, okay. One second. Hold on, please.
Hello.
This might take a line.
Okay, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Hello, how are you today?
I think I'm good. Thanks. How are you?
Okay, okay. Hold on one second, please.
Okay, I'm back. Sorry.
about that. Are you there? I believe I am. I know, who is this? Well, I'm Brent.
Huh? I'm Brent Thomas. How are you? Oh, hold on a second, okay?
Okay, we're good. Thanks so much for calling in. That was a lot of fun.
That's the second night in a row. We got a kind of a crank call. I appreciate your call, man. That's really cool. I'm glad that you found us and that you're participating.
Yeah, no problem, man. This is awesome. And if you find you. Yeah, I love how you do this call-in thing.
It's awesome how you do this call and thing because you don't see many other shows really doing this anymore.
And it really gives the chat and, like, you know, people watching it, like, a more connection with the audience and, you know, the people on the show and everything.
It's awesome that, like, really talk to you, man.
I feel like, you know what I mean?
It feels almost unreal.
Oh, man, I'm really thrilled that you feel that way.
And thank you so much for calling anytime, brother.
The lines are usually open on the show.
Yeah, no problem, man.
All right.
You have a great night, Brandon.
It's nice meeting you.
You too, man.
guys have a good night. Thanks for the shows, man. I appreciate them. Yeah, all right, brother. Very cool.
See you. All right. And we got another call here, and it's Anonymous. So we'll see how this one goes. Hello, Anonymous. You're on the air.
Hi. Thank God I reached you. Look, I need right now. Can you hear me? I'm sorry. I have great reception here.
Apparently you don't. We don't have much time. We don't. We don't. We don't. We don't. We
sure that we just said, okay?
I don't know what you're doing.
If I get a kid, then make sure you have a dad.
I do have a dad.
I do got one of those.
Do you have?
I'm sorry?
Look, just make sure you go upstairs and get a crate of being curd and a taxidary parent.
Well, thanks for your call, man.
I know what's going on now.
I know what's going on right now.
Those are, those are, I think those are like pre-programmed ones.
Let's see.
Are you still there?
Nope, they hung up.
That'll teach him to work hard and put out good content, Mr. Number 8.
Just having a little fun.
Brent, don't be mad.
Brent wasn't in on the joke, so he didn't know.
It would have been a lot fun or a feud or got upset, but he has the same type of humor I do.
Brent Thomas with the paranormal portal.
Check it out on iTunes, Stitcher, whatever podcast player you're listening to Sasquatch Chronicles on, go over and subscribe to Brent Thomas, The Paranormal Portal.
Check it out on YouTube seven days a week. He does it live.
And it was a lot of fun breaking his balls. Hopefully he's not mad at me.
But definitely check it out, the paranormal portal.
Black thing go from left to right, and I thought, I'm going to die out here and no one's ever going to know.
I couldn't believe what my eyeballs was showing me.
I'll never forget how evil the eyes were.
It was horrible.
I mean, I've never seen nothing that evil.
It ran towards me at a rate that I can't even explain,
turned and stared at me,
and this look of, I just want to kill you.
I want to say it was human, but it wasn't.
He was yelling at me to grab a gun, grab a gun.
I was like, for what?
He said, just grab a gun.
and there's footprints all the way to the door of my house.
It had went inside my garage all the way to the door.
911, what are you reporting?
Sure.
What's going on now, sir?
That sort of a bitch is about six.
Now, sir?
Yes, I'm looking right at him.
Uh-oh.

Welcome to the show, everyone.
Thanks for being here tonight.
Operation Jangle was a success.
Brent and Don over at the paranormal portal.
They were good sports about it.
I got a great show planned for you tonight.
We'll be talking to Shiloh.
And Shiloh comes to us from Kentucky.
And he grew up on this property.
And he's had family and friends.
And everyone kind of talks about Sasquatch being on the property.
Never saw anything growing up until one day he was.
was going back to the property, take care of his uncle's dogs, and he caught it coming across the road
as he was driving up the driveway. A very fascinating account. Shiloh will be sharing some of
the family member stories and just some of the weird things that have gone on over the years.
And then we'll be talking to Melissa. Melissa had an encounter in Ohio. Her husband was leaving
one night and she caught the saying kind of peeking around her property and a little more going on
over there in Ohio.
her mother lives not far from her and has had some weird things going on.
If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email.
My email address is Wes at Sasquatch Chronicles.com.
And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
Let's jump into it tonight.
I want to welcome Shiloh to the show. Shiloh, thanks for coming on.
Oh, no problem, man.
Yeah, I appreciate you being here.
And I know your encounter took place in Kentucky.
You've actually had a lot of things going on and around that property.
And we'll talk about that in a moment.
But if you would, tell us about your encounter and kind of start from the beginning and just kind of tell us what you were doing.
Okay.
Well, I mean, like I said, I can go back a little bit to when we first moved here when I was 10, around 10 back in early 90s.
when we moved here, the guy we bought the house from when I used to go explore the woods,
he would always tell me, you know, if you see Bigfoot, just go the other way.
You're small. He's not going to bother. You just go the other way. And I always thought that was weird.
And when I grew up, I grew up in scouts and stuff. And I didn't get to this yesterday.
But I grew up, my grandpa was born on the Oklahoma Reservation. So I grew up, you know, with a very Native American family and stuff like that.
So a lot of traditional stuff. But they never taught.
to about anything like that, you know?
I remember asked my grandpa one time what it was, and he said it's just a spirit animal.
That was pretty much the end of conversation.
But this was back in, I was trying to do all the math.
It was back in 2000.
And I was coming home late one night towards our property.
It's in a little town called Philpott, Kentucky, which is fine.
People know where that is, and it's no big deal.
But I was driving home.
As I got close to the front of my parents' property, my lights hit.
Essentially, it hit Bigfoot.
The camera fell on him.
And he was coming out of my parents, like the side of my parents' driveway.
He was on the grass.
And he was midgate just walking.
Like, didn't expect anyone to be there between one and two in the morning.
And I stopped at, I remember distinctly where I stopped.
I stopped at a telephone pole.
It's about 70 feet from the entrance to my parents' farm.
And he walked.
He didn't, he wasn't moving fast.
He wasn't.
And I say he because it was very flat-chested.
It wasn't moving fast at all.
But he just, he looked at the car and walked across the road into the cornfield on the other side.
And it was about four or five steps into the cornfield.
I know it was probably late August.
I want to say late August.
The corn hadn't been harvested yet,
but it was fully grown at that point.
And I know for people out West,
they think we're lying a lot of time in Kentucky
when we tell them our corn gets over six feet tall,
but it does.
Our corn gets very,
very tall here.
And I just,
I remember how, one,
it was gray.
It wasn't brown.
I was so used to as a kid.
growing up with seeing the Patty film and everything that it was brown.
So it shocked me that it was gray.
It was dark gray.
It looked just like our trees I was like.
And I remember thinking that thing would be perfectly camouflaged here in Kentucky.
Like you would never know it was there.
It could go all through the woods and you'd never know it was there.
And it had long gray hair.
It didn't have a whole lot of hair on its face.
And it just looked at me as it crossed the road, almost like it was.
just making sure I was going to stop and not hit it. It didn't turn its head away for me to look to where it was going until it made it to the other side of the road. And then it just turned its head and went, there was no eye shine at all. Like it was, it didn't, it didn't shield its eyes. It just looked at me and then, and then walked across the road. It was very, it was very weird, very surreal feeling just watching it cross the road like that, just like it belonged where it was and knew where it was going, just very common.
confident of itself, like, just did its thing, you know, and then just walked into the,
into the, into the, into the, into the, into the, uh, into the, uh, into the, uh,
seeing anything. Can you, can you describe for the audience what you saw? I mean,
the details you remember? Yeah, I, I, I remember saying, like, I knew it was taller than I was in a
land rover. I was in a 94 landover discovery. Um, that vehicle is about six and a half feet
tall. I remember thinking that thing is so much taller than my Land Rover. And like, I'm five foot
seven, so I'm short anyway. Or at least I feel short some days. But I was like, I was like,
that thing is so much taller than my Land Rover. It was unbelievable how much taller was. It wasn't bulky.
I mean, it did have long legs and long arms. I felt like its legs and arms were relatively long
compared to its torso.
Its head was huge.
Like I said,
it just had,
its head was huge.
And its nose was,
I want to say,
I mean,
because I got a great look at its face,
its nose was somewhere between a gorilla and a human.
Like it was turned up a little bit.
But in,
I don't want to say it had a conical head.
I just remember its head seemed very elongated,
you know,
compared to,
it wasn't really conicaled,
but it was very elongated for,
for what it was.
Dark gray hair
I mean head to
head to toe
except for around the face
long gray dark hair
with like you know
almost like
like you see
it's dark gray
but you can tell like
there may be black strands in it
that just make the gray
that much darker
you know
and just absolutely massive
like I said
five steps
and it was in the cornfield
on the other side of the road
that's I measured it
It's about, let's see, it took me 15 steps.
So I want to say it was probably about 20, 25 feet, 20 feet from the driveway to the other side of the road, 25 feet at max to go across there.
Yeah, and it just did it in a matter of a few steps.
Yeah, a few steps.
There was boom, boom, boom.
And I was like, it just walked.
And like I said, it wasn't moving fast.
It didn't speed up.
It literally just looked at me like, you know, like I'm just crossing the road here to go to the other side.
and that's it, you know.
Did the expression on the face change at all?
No, I never saw, never saw any teeth.
It just, it did.
And I've looked at, I've looked and looked and tried to find a picture or at least a sketch of something similar to I saw.
And in a lot of people portray, like, I know people have encounters that are very terrifying.
And people are terrified and stuff like that.
But at that point, I never heard, I'd never heard of an encounter where someone with,
was physically attacked or had a scary encounter with it.
You know,
um,
it just,
it's straight face,
it was pretty straight face.
It,
um,
a lot of them,
let,
I've seen people have drawn pictures and stuff,
look,
make them look like they're much older,
but it didn't look old.
Like it didn't look,
like it didn't,
it just didn't look old.
It didn't look like an older animal,
you know,
like some,
it was other than me gray,
it didn't look old,
but face didn't change.
It didn't look angry.
It didn't look surprised.
It just walked,
cross like like it knew what it was doing where it was going and and um i mean it's very very
strange just that just that it wasn't it wasn't shocked or anything like that it's not like i
caught him off guard it just walked when you when you were looking at the face would you say
it was more human like or would you say i know the nose was kind of half human half gorilla
but when you're looking at the face would you say it was more human like more like a non-human
primate? I personally, because of growing up around so many animals and being around, I would just
have said it just, it looked like a primate to me. You know, its eyes were, its eyes were inset. It had,
you know, more of a brow and stuff. And it looked more, it looked, it looked, it looked more like
just an animal to me. I know, to me it didn't, because of how I feel about towards nature and stuff,
it didn't seem out of its environment, probably because it just walked like it knew where it was going and what it was doing.
Like it had done that walk across the road from there 100,000 times.
This was just a normal evening for just to walk across the road, you know, at that time.
But yeah, I would say, I'd say it looked more like, you know, I would say it looked more primate to me, you know,
more like one of the great apes and stuff.
Yeah, and that's a fair answer.
That's definitely a fair answer.
I wanted to ask you, what's going on on that property?
Because your uncle's actually had a few encounters.
Hasden?
Yes. He had one.
I know my cousin has smelt it several times as times.
I can go into kind of, you know, do chronologically of what has happened on the property.
The next, like I said, I ran over that property from the time I was 10 to an adult, never had any issues whatsoever.
Never saw anything, never heard anything.
But it doesn't mean by talking to other people by the guy that used to own the house that he hadn't seen something.
Because obviously who in Kentucky thinks to tell a little kid, hey, if you see Bigfoot walking around the wood, just go the other way from him.
He won't bother you, you know, unless you've seen something, you know.
So the next one was a few years later.
At this point, I've gotten married.
My parents have quite a big house out in that area.
And they built a guest house, or they had a remodeled an area into a guest house, and they'd built an extra room, actually, onto it.
And the guest house was split up into two sections.
There was a downstairs kind of apartment.
They originally built it for my grandparents when they moved in and they had passed on.
So eventually me and my wife rented the downstairs, and my sister and her husband had rented the upstairs from my parents.
So it was probably November.
I say that because I know that it was dark and it was about five in the morning when it happened.
But I woke up to what sounded like, it would sound like a haler monkey.
It didn't have that raspyness to it like a haler monkey does,
but it just was, that's the kind of the reverberation and the kind of noise it was.
And it was so loud, I felt like it was shaking the room.
and I woke my wife up, and she probably didn't remember her. She was halfway asleep. And I was like, did you hear that? She's like, no. So I grabbed a shotgun, through shells, and it went outside with my mag light and shine down. I could tell from the noise when I heard it where it was in relationship to behind this house, behind, and the gully. And shine lights down there, didn't hear anything. Fired or shot off down there just because, for whatever reason, and came back inside.
And my wife was just like, well, seriously, you're firing shots in the woods in the middle night.
I know my mom asked me later. I was like, and I just told my mom, I said, I heard something down the woods.
We've had, you know, bobcats and stuff before mess with our chickens and stuff like that.
And we would always just fire a shot and scare them off and stuff.
Because we do, I'm not, I didn't want to kill it.
You know, I don't want to kill anything that I'm not going to harvest for actual food or that's not being a direct threat to, you know, someone or myself.
So that was the second time
That we had issues
Shiloh, that the sound that you heard
Was it like this?
It's very consistent with that
But you know how they have that kind of raspyness
Almost like they got flim in their throat?
I mean, it didn't have that
But it was that same kind of tone
Except for exponential, it's so much louder.
I mean, it's so much louder.
It like shake the room
we're having an earthquake loud feeling. It's just so loud. Like I said, it was so loud that it
I mean, it woke me up. You know, I understand it was early in morning. We're used to get up early
anyway, but it was so loud that it woke me up. And I just remember laying there in bed,
listening to it before I woke my wife up, I'm very big on if something's going on,
I like to take in all the information before I react to it. You know, so, and it's,
growing up, just growing up with, like, you know, I had a dad that was on the paramedic engine company.
I've dealt with people getting hurt and stuff before.
And it's like I've taken all the, I try to take in all the information as quickly as possible before I react to it.
So it was like, I didn't wake my wife up until I'd quit.
And then I asked her, hey, did you hear that?
Of course, she was still sleep.
And I was, but it was a lot like that.
It was very monkey sounding, but it was so much louder.
And I was like, it sounded like a howler monkey.
And I even told my mom that it sounded like a howler monkey down in the woods.
it was just so much louder, you know?
I've heard people say that.
You know, people who have, I talked to a guy in Tennessee one time, and he sent me a recording,
and it sounded a lot like that.
Like you said, it's louder, more, there's more base, more power behind it.
Yeah, yeah.
But it was very similar to that.
I mean, what a hell of a way to wake up?
What other things happened on the property?
I know we're kind of going down the...
Yeah, going down the timeline here for different things.
The other thing that happened, it was...
I'm pretty sure my uncle's incident happened before any of my cousins or before,
before,
I know it was before mine,
but he was burning his fence line out in his goat pastures.
And he was burning it.
I think it was getting close to dusk.
I'm not real sure what time of year.
I would guess that the grass was dried out when he was burning it.
I'd have to ask him.
But he was burning the fence line and all of a sudden he heard what he said.
was a wolf. He said it sounded like a very classic, you know, a classic sound of that wolf that
wasn't now. He has, he's lived in the woods all his life. I mean, he grew up in Mississippi
in the backwoods of Mississippi. All my uncles and family, they've all grown up, like,
that's how they've grown up. They've grown up hunting. They've been, he lived in Alaska for a long
time. He's hunted different larger game animals. So he's very familiar with the sounds of the woods.
and then it started,
there was an old trailer back there
that someone used to live in
and they just used it for storage.
I'm pretty sure that's a trailer.
There's that and there's another shed back there too
because I know he said it was one of the trailers,
but it didn't start beating on the side of the trailer
back there by him.
And he called his daughter and said,
hey, turn all the lights on.
And he said,
and be ready because I'm heading back in.
So he booked it back in inside.
has fired pretty much drizzled out and stuff so but um so that was that and said the next one was
my cousin in his girlfriend at the time and now wife they were i'm not sure if they were staying
there if they just stopped by to let the dogs out which my uncle has massive dogs um their
labrador um great dane crosses and they're just they're horses of dogs they're just
massive dogs and then he's got a uh a full-size
chocolate lab that's just a brickhead of a dog. It's just a stout dog.
But something had happened, I know he doesn't, the little bit I've gotten from, he won't talk about it.
He doesn't want to be made fun of. He just won't talk about it. But something happened to him and it scared the dogs enough to run back inside and you won't talk about it. But about the same time of year, every year, they like to go camping and stuff. And a couple of years back, I was trying to remember exactly what year it was.
I know that I haven't taken care of their dogs while they're going camping because someone else and the family has been home in the same time for the last three to four years.
So it was at least three to four years ago.
I went to take care of the dogs.
And I sent you some pictures and you'll see where his house is in relationship to his barn.
It's not a lot of space in between his or his garage in his house.
But they'd taken the camper and stuff.
So there were cars parked right in front of the house.
So I just stopped by the barn to go feed peacocks and stuff on.
the back, sorry, he keeps saying barn, but his garage to feed the peacocks and stuff, I just
went in and parked there, and I hadn't fed them yet, but I walked down, I started walking towards
the house, and as soon as I got between the house and the, or the garage and the house,
something screamed at me from the wood line. And it was so loud. It was so loud that it shook me.
and then you heard it take off like
there was a train plowing
through the forest
back down the hill
back down towards someone else's
property. I mean, they're just
hauling through there. And I was like, that was not
I was like
that was not
not. I was like
it just took off.
And then the next year I had to take care
of their dogs again and it was
about the same time of year
in that October, October, November
time, the same exact thing happened at the same time, the same place.
And I think that something had known they were gone.
There wasn't a lot of movement around the property because my uncle's always running his ATB
around.
They had goats.
There's always something going.
So when the dogs aren't coming in and out constantly all day long, I think something
was watching the peacocks.
Now, we've never had any issues with other than raccoons.
And it was obviously a raccoon still in any of.
our chickens or or or um eggs or the the pfow or the pea chicks or anything like that you know and we've
always they've always had guineas and stuff around there too which i don't know if you're familiar
with guineas guineas are just alarm they're just your alarm birds there's anything happens they're they're
going they're carrying on and stuff but um they uh those were the two incidents that i had over a third
place like i said in october a couple of years ago which we haven't had anything
else happened since then, like, is verbally, I know that my cousin that still lives there,
she's, they smell things quite often during this time of year.
That's very pungent, very musky smell.
It will pop up all of a sudden, especially late in the evening and stuff.
And yeah, we do have skunks here, but they're pretty in tune with what a skunk smells like
versus something that smells different.
I get it.
Does it seem to happen at a certain time of year?
I mean, it doesn't seem like it's going on 24-10.
No, we have what we like to refer to as our creature season.
It's about sometimes it's the end of August through September, October, and mid-November.
Sometimes it's a little bit later.
But definitely from September all the way through October to mid-November is pretty much a constant time of something.
you're going to, you may hear something, but you're definitely going to smell something within the area.
And you're talking about an area that it happens on.
My parents own 30 acres.
My uncle owns 30 acres.
There's another farm back there that owes.
They own, I think that's about 30 acres too.
So it's kind of like a little landlock.
It's a very locked area of farms.
And when I say farms, it's mostly trees.
No one's, or they're not farming it.
There's some grass area there that they do cut for hay, but it's not.
not it's not it's not it's not half of it it's a smaller portion of it and stuff like that but it's
very wood wooded and then there's other people's properties that around there that have a lot of
woods and stuff so it's quite a big wooded area it's only for you know that kind of a two
two to three months span and then it ends um i gotcha kind of sounds like we never had
passing through or something you know what i mean yeah and i i honestly i and i believed it for a
long time that they passed through towards henderson kentucky which
has been known for sidinges for years.
There are some low-lying areas
that are kind of really underdeveloped
over in Henderson that are
they would be very habitable.
No one goes back into those areas, not even really
to hunt. They're kind of secluded,
you know, not many roads running back
through that area. But I think, I really believe
that they just pass through.
I don't, like I said, I don't know if,
if it's a family group or if it's just
a lone male that passes through and like I said the one I saw
I just assumed that it was male just by
its features now I didn't see any genitalia or anything like that on it
it didn't have breast it definitely didn't have breast yeah um it wasn't built
like the other than being tall it was kind of tall and lanky I mean you could
definitely see it was muscular like there's no there's no doubt like
you could see, even though it's hair was longer, you could definitely see it had muscle.
Like, it would have no problem doing whatever it needed to do in its environment.
But it wasn't bulky, like you see a lot of, like a lot of pictures and stuff.
You see them, they're kind of bulkier.
Especially when you get up northern, they seem to be, they seem, the people's encounter seem to be much bulkier.
You know, like they're, you know, much, much bulkier.
And, but yeah, I mean, like I said, my whole family's been been in the woods on and off.
life. My dad, my dad lived in a tent in Sierra Nevada mountains when he was a kid, you know.
Yeah, I get it. And I'm kind of curious, did you ever talk to your uncle? And did your uncle ever see,
see them on the property? Nope. And I talked to him all the time. Actually, he's just started
teaching my son to hunt this year. So my son's been hunting that property. And I just told my son,
Like my son believes, he believes what's going on.
He's 100% on board with it.
But I told him, I said, I said, do you see anything?
Do not shoot it for a love of goodness.
You're just going to make them mad.
And I said, you're hunting with cross one 30, 30.
You're not going to do enough damage with those, with that firepower to do anything.
I said, and here's the thing.
And I said, here's a thing.
I said, if you see something.
And I said, it's just going to cause problems for my parents doing property up there.
and for my uncle.
I said,
we've never had problems.
We're very good at,
we don't believe in feeding wildlife.
Like I said,
we have enough problems
with raccoons stealing stuff
to be putting out any sort of food
to try to feed some sort of wildlife.
My family's always been a big believer in,
you know, nature's nature
and it will take care of itself.
You know,
there's no need for us to be feeding
anything out there, you know?
Yeah, it sounds like,
it kind of sounds like somewhat of a peaceful
relationship. I mean, I know
they were coming up to your daughter's
window or your daughter was saying someone was watching
her at night. Yeah, that
back bedroom that they built, the windows
are very small. They're like,
almost like the small windows
that people will put in a half-sunk
basement. So they're
more elongated than
they are, you know, down.
But they are
nine feet off the ground
on the outside. And
when my
sister and brother-in-law moved out of the upstairs of the guest house. We converted it into one big
guest house. And so we had the whole thing. And my oldest daughter took over our bed, our, our, our, what was our bedroom downstairs.
And we moved into the master bedroom that was upstairs. And she, for a long time, she said, she would all, she always says, you know, my night tears didn't start till till then. And she doesn't have them anymore. But why, when she was in that bedroom. But she's
said there were nights where she felt like someone was watching her from the window.
And she would just pull the covers, but she was too scared to get up and leave.
And I always thought she was just being, just being young and afraid of the dark or whatever, ever, you know.
And it wasn't like she was downstairs by herself. My son's bedroom was down there too.
But she would always say that she felt like someone was watching her for a window. And I said, looking back now, I feel kind of like a bad parent. I'm like, yeah, there may have been something watching you from the window.
that's kind of awful.
You know, and it just, you know, it's, it's just makes you feel bad, you know, because
you just don't.
Yeah, but how do you know at that time?
Because, I mean, that was before your encounter and everything.
And I know everyone.
Well, it was, that was, that was, but see, that's the thing.
When that was, she was living down there after I heard, after I'd seen him and after
I heard the hallamomies.
Oh, I got you.
So it was before, it was before, now it was before I'd been screamed at on my uncle's property,
the two times, but it was in between that.
I just wasn't thinking about it because we're in a house, we're safe.
I wasn't, I had never really researched it outside of watching some shows on Discovery History Channel or wherever those were,
and I watched those for a very short time before I got bored with them because it was very scripted.
And I'm like, I don't do scripted.
I'm a big believer if you're trying to find something, you just need to go out in the woods and be quiet.
And just wouldn't agree with you.
Yeah.
You know, I don't think you're going to go out there and stomp around with a video camera talking the whole time and see anything ever.
I'm like, and that's the thing is, you know, how often do you see any sort of, you know, large carnivorous animal anywhere?
You know, I mean, I've been here.
I've been in Kentucky for, you know, years now since the 90s.
and I've never seen a Kentucky wild cat or bobcat.
Now, I've heard them, you know, and I've, but, you know, that's kind of our,
our biggest known predator in this area.
Now, we do have Panthers here still.
The game warns here will tell you we don't have, what we call Panthers or Mountain Lions.
But my neighbor across the street just caught one, I can't remember,
it was last hunting season or this hunting season.
He caught one in, in Davis County.
He has one on, on his game camp.
and and then my my brother was driving or my brother-in-law was driving he caught he said i thought
he said i caught he has video footage of a big cat and it's definitely it got into the woods but it's
it's a kentucky wildcat you can tell by the shadowing when it gets in the woods you can kind of
see glimpses of it and it was definitely a kentucky wildcat it's like you don't really see
large predators like that you know um that often so it's very easy for them just to hide you know i would
I would think so. I mean, in Kentucky can be very dense. I mean, and it has a long history of Sasquatch. I mean, Daniel Boone called them the Yahoo. He shot it in Kentucky. I want to say it was 1771 or 1772. And he said it was a 10-foot-tall-haired giant. And he shot it with the musket. So it definitely has a long history of sightings in there. What do you think that Sasquatch is? What's your opinion, Shiloh?
I think it's a primate.
I mean, that's just my honest. I've thought about a lot. I mean, I'm blessed enough to work from home. So I have a lot of time to think about things sometimes that I really do just, I believe it's a primate. It's something that's been around. It's been around for a while, while it probably came across the land bridge with, you know, with the first indigenous people, you know, it just walked across like the, and then, you know, got trapped here and spread out and you end up with different, you know, different populations.
that look a little differently and act a little differently and have learned different things in different areas, you know.
But I really believe it's just, I think it's just it's a North American primate that hasn't been discovered yet.
Well, hasn't been brought to light yet.
I think there are people here that have discovered it, and it's very well known within the government realm of what it is.
and it's it's been studied much more than the public has been allowed to know about.
Yeah, I tend to agree with you.
I think that it is being covered up.
And you have to keep your eyes and yours open.
I know we're kind of coming into that time of year when they pass through.
No, we're in it now.
I've been, like I said, my uncle's gone camping.
I've been taking care of his dogs.
I've been out there a couple times, and I won't go out there after dark.
Like, I've made sure yesterday when I went out there that it was before it got dark,
so I could have good light and see everything and check on everything and let them out and everything
and, you know, kind of watch what the key is to, you know, how the dogs are acting towards
stuff and how they're feeling about things.
And, you know, but yeah, it's that time of year, you know, I don't go out there expecting
that I'm going to hear anything, you know, or see anything.
You know, I am very watchful of what we do and, you know, stuff when I'm out there,
very keen about it.
I will, you know, I'm not going to go walking in the woods behind his house this time of year
that I'm not asking for, you know, I'm not going to go asking for trouble.
I get it.
I get it.
Well, be safe.
I really appreciate you taking the time to come on and share your encounter and the encounters
with your family.
Just be safe out there.
Good advice to your son as you and I were talking.
I'm all for killing one.
No one likes to hear that, but that's the way I feel.
And I think, but the only exception to that rule is when it's on your own property, I'll advise people not to shoot at them because it goes south really quick.
But, you know, be safe and thanks so much for taking the time to come on.
Yeah, no problem.
Next up, I want to welcome Melissa to the show.
Melissa, thanks for coming on.
Well, thank you for having me.
Yeah, I appreciate you being here.
and I know your encounter took place in 2017 in Ohio, kind of a scary encounter, actually.
But if you would, would you just start for the audience, kind of tell us what you're doing and walk us into what happened.
What did you see?
Okay.
Well, I live in Tramble County, Ohio, very rural area.
It was a Sunday night.
I'm not sure if it was late November or early December.
It was about 7.30 and pretty dark outside.
My husband was going somewhere.
So we were walking out the back door.
I was talking a mile a minute about something to him.
And I noticed something made me look to the right.
and across this white building next door,
I saw a shadow go across the building.
The moonlight was shining on the white siding,
and this shadow was just so black.
It looked just like if you think of in the 1800s,
they had those pictures of people instead of photographs that were cut out of black material.
Oh, yeah.
I know what you mean.
Yeah, it had a real crisp line around it and it's real deep, deep black.
That's what it looked like.
And I saw it.
There's a patch of woods in between us in this building and I saw it go across for about 20 feet.
And the thing though that I was stunned because that building I could not see the first story anything.
It's block from the top of the garage door down.
And the upper part, the second story, is white siding.
So the silhouette I was seeing was.
only on the second story of this building.
And I was trying to, what, you know, it's not a person because a person doesn't even come
close to the top of the garage door.
And it was so big.
I sent you a picture trying to draw it, which was terrible picture, but there was a
straight line where the white siding started.
And there was a round, going around, like chasing around the silhouette was this big ball.
It's like almost like a half of a bowling ball.
It must have been its bicept, I'm guessing, going into the shoulder that was also cut real deep.
The muscles were just incredible.
And if you go up, I could see like the brow ridge sticking out.
And I think it was the mouth sticking out.
And in between the two, it was completely flat.
Like, you couldn't see a nose at all.
It was a side view.
And it was for about five seconds.
And I could see the different colors of the trees, the grays and the browns and the blacks.
But this thing was so black.
And I, next thing I remember, my husband's looking, I looked.
up at my husband and he's looking down at me like what what what you know like for me to finish
telling him what I was telling him and then he kind of looked at me like what's wrong and I just
I couldn't even talk I just said I love you I'll see you have a good time I watched him get in his
truck and turn it around and it completely the lights lit up the backyard and there was nothing
there and I watched him leave
And then I went in the house and locked the door.
Yeah, did you ever tell your husband, you know, later that?
I waited for him to get, I waited for him to get home.
And I watched, actually, the lights scanned the yard.
And I actually went out and met him close to the truck and said, get in the house now.
And I couldn't wrap my mind around this creature.
I said, come in the house now.
And I said, I want you to be careful out here.
I saw a really big thing, animal in the yard, and I don't know what it was.
And he, of course, believed me.
He saw how upset I was.
And, you know, it's been two years.
And to this day, I still watch him come home or anybody in my yard.
I scan my yard before I go outside.
Yeah, let me ask you, Melissa, was there anything that stood out to you?
Besides this thing, I'm assuming it's on two feet when you're looking at it, kind of the side view you mentioned.
Yeah.
How far away from you was it when it kind of stepped out and was standing there?
Well, okay.
To my right is this building, and it's just, like I said, it's about 40 feet long and it's white siding like vine.
siding, I think, on the top. And the moon was shining on it from my left. All I saw was it moved across
the white siding. I saw it from cut half of the bicep up, and that's all I could see in the head and the
shoulders. And it moved across this building in such a strange way, like it was on a
skateboard just that's the only movement it was from side to side across this white building um
you know like there was no like movement of it really of the arm or the head moving it just
this strange silhouette it for about 20 feet i saw it go across the building and there were some
trees in front of it a couple times and till it went into the woods behind our house and
I couldn't see anything then.
Yeah, it's scary.
I know you're a member of the site, and on Friday night's show, Alan, his description is a lot like your description.
He said, you know, normally when a person bounces, when they walk, they bounce, and this saying didn't, it had a real odd movement.
So I definitely get what you mean.
Yeah, it's like there was absolutely no movement except it was going from right to left.
strange. Has anything else happened on that property since you've been there?
Well, I believe I live on a natural game trail. The last few years, I've seen so much wildlife.
Blackfear, coyotes, just tons of wild turkeys and foxes and just a lot of wildlife goes through our small patch of the world.
And so I'm used to see on that.
I've heard a lot of coyotes.
Not lately, though.
I can hear them yipping at night and howling,
owls and all kinds of things.
But one time I was, again, it was a Sunday night.
I was home by myself and I had the windows open.
And this sound come across.
from the farm field in the woods across the street.
That's probably a mile of farm field and woods over there.
It was this deep moan sigh thing.
But the thing is it lasted for like 20 seconds.
And, you know, you hear coyote or something,
You kind of stop and listen and then go about.
This thing stopped me.
I was folding laundry.
It just stopped.
And it like filled my whole house, the whole woods, the whole environment around me.
I don't know how to describe it.
It was so loud.
My brother, I did tell him, I told him about it.
And he said it was kind of like when a trucker does a brake thing or a semi-truck
makes that noise.
And when I described it to him and I said, well, yeah, but this thing lasted for 20 seconds and it permeated everything around me.
And when it stopped, I like was gasping.
I hadn't realized I had held my breath the whole time.
It's like everything in my body stopped.
And that was unexplainable.
Yeah, I mean, it was a, it was a creature.
It wasn't, it wasn't mechanical.
It was, you know, like a long sigh.
And the only thing I've done a lot of research, you know, being a member and, and, and, um, a Sasquatch Conicles.
Actually, it's the only thing I am a member, too.
Yeah, thank you for that.
Well, best, you are the best.
I've done a lot of research, and anyway, the only sound that I can compare it to is there is a Bigfoot movie called Embedded.
I don't know if you've ever heard of it.
I don't think so, no.
They have a trailer for the movie that you can go online and watch the trailer for Embedded.
The only thing I would like to warn is there's a dog, I think, that gets killed in the trailer.
It's not, it's scary.
But this creature yells at the people in the trailer.
They're going for it.
And that's what it felt like.
It's the only thing that comes close to what I heard.
It's not a typical Sasquatch sound like the Ohio Hal.
And my husband and I both heard this weird moaning around the property.
and who sounds.
Not quite an owl,
but it kind of sounds like a hound dog on a scent,
but it's not.
I don't know how to describe it.
Yeah, no, I understand what you mean.
And there's a lot of bizarre sounds.
You know, a lot of times they'll say to people,
it did it sound like the Ohio howl,
and they'll be like, wasn't even close,
and then it's always something different.
I'm kind of curious.
Now, your mother lives, what about a mom?
mile or two miles away.
A few miles, yeah.
Yeah, what's going on on her property?
I know you'd mention that in the email.
I don't know if you got the picture I sent you.
I haven't checked yet.
As an embarrassing that is.
I will check, though.
All right.
I actually have a video too.
And my mom, I take care of her.
She still lives by herself.
I, you know, do everything I can so that she can still.
live at home and uh she called me one night she didn't feel good so i went over there and it was about
1230 at night i got her all settled and i was at the dining room table there's a huge picture window
there and i started it not off i'm sitting up at the table me and my elbows on the table and
my eyes are going down and then i hear uh uh
It's more like a muffled clicking on the window three times, like a tap tap, but it's muffled.
I don't know if there's fur or something in a nail or something.
And of course, I set up and I'm really tired and I'm what in the world?
And I started to go down again and I was starting to fall asleep.
And same thing happens again.
It's like muscle clicking top, real soft, real soft on the window.
And, of course, that time I sat up and I'm like, oh, my gosh, I'm hearing this.
I'm not falling asleep.
I'm hearing this.
So my iPhone was laying right in front of me.
So what I did was I picked my phone up and turned it sideways.
and I put the camera on and took a picture of the window because I was not looking.
And I turned it around and looked at the picture and there was eyeshine there, right?
Down low where I was.
Well, I jumped up as fast as I could, ran over, shut the light off and ran into the hallway.
And I actually took video then.
I turned my phone back on and videoed the window.
And the eye shine moved from where I was sitting to at the top of the window, there was two sets of the same.
It looked like eye shying to me.
It looks like that in the picture.
But there was two sets kind of moving back and forth at the top.
of the window in my video.
I didn't know if I could send the video to you.
Like, I'm not good at that kind of stuff.
But I did.
You can text it to me.
I'd love to see it.
But you can, you have to look up in the right corner and they're moving.
And side, like, oh my God, I was so scared.
Yeah, I bet.
I would have been scared too.
Has your mom talked about anything like that at her property?
Well, the only thing.
that she kept one that summer actually she kept saying well this was in May of 2017 and now only
I know that because I sent you the the picture I had I had cropped it and the eyes in this big
picture window um outside where the eyes were I can't even reach how tall that would be um you know
in the video part when they moved.
I don't know.
It's above my hand, putting my hand up with that.
That's where the eye would be.
Yeah, so whatever was in that window was pretty tall, really.
Yeah.
It must have been kneeling down when it was tapping on the window.
But that summer, my mom kept calling me.
She says, something keeps whistling at me.
Somebody keeps whistling at me.
She would be outside raking or picking up sticks to this out.
in the country as well. A lot of trees on her property. And she's always out there picking up
sticks and raking and, and a song keeps whistling at me. I said, oh, mom, it's a cardinal.
And I played her a cardinal sound. She's that sounds human. And I'm like, oh, it's a cardinal.
I didn't even think anything of it. Yeah, sounds like they're around that property.
Now, this happened two years ago. Has anything else beyond hearing vocals? Has anything else
happened to your home? No, I can't, I haven't seen anything. I've just heard some, you know,
the strange, some strange sounds, but no, nothing else. Yeah, it's bizarre, isn't it? I mean,
it makes me wonder if they're kind of in the area and they're kind of passed through on some of
these properties. I've heard of that before where they'll, they're kind of live in the general area
and every once while they show up on people's property. It doesn't sound like it was really aggressive.
of, I mean, your husband leaves you go back in the home and that's kind of the end of that.
It doesn't really, it's not coming up banging on your house.
It's not throwing rocks at your house.
It's not targeting you.
That's, it's still terrifying.
Don't get me wrong.
I would still be terrified by the whole thing.
I wanted to ask you, Melissa, I know you've been a part of the site and I appreciate you
being a member of Sasquatch Chronicles.
What do you think that these things are?
What's your opinion?
I don't know.
You know, before I saw it, I thought, oh, it's just another hominid, you know, it's a, it's another species that's undiscovered. It's, you know, it's, there's thousands of people that has seen this, you know. So I, I believe them. I, I thought it was like what you see in pictures and on TV. But after I saw it, this, I, I don't even feel comfortable calling it a, I, I, I don't even feel comfortable calling it. I,
a Sasquatch or I call it a creature because it was so ominous, so different than seeing a bear or a coyote.
I don't know.
I believe, like you said, that it definitely has to be migratory.
And how I can live here and feel comfortable is that it was just passing through, even though I've heard loud snaps.
like in the woods.
It's another thing I've heard.
My husband actually bought me,
oh, it started off with the million-watt flashlight,
and then I got, I actually have night vision
because I hear these loud snaps,
like something walking on a big branch
and cracking it in my yard at night.
Well, you know, in the woods,
beyond my yard at night.
But I haven't really seen anything.
But it has changed them, you know,
our lives, we do, I do, look around and I watch my husband outside and anybody that comes in
my yard. I watch them leave, you know. Yeah, I don't blame you. Well, you know, be careful out there.
Let me know, will you? I mean, you have my cell phone number. You can call me day and night.
If anything else happens, call me, will you?
Wes, that is so cool of you. You are just the coolest guy ever.
Well, I don't know about all that, but seriously, if anything happens, let me know. I,
I kind of don't think they're going to mess with you.
I think they were just, they may live in the area, but they're probably passing through.
What worries me more is your mom's property because, you know, your husband is around.
I realize he goes off to work and everything.
And I don't know if your mom has anyone there.
But they tend to focus in on, I hate to say that, but it's actually true.
They tend to focus in on, you'll find where older women are home alone.
they tend to kind of mess with them.
And I don't know why that is.
But if anything happens with your mom, let me know.
I don't think that they're going to be aggressive.
I think if they were going to, they would have done it already.
They're probably just more or less curious on what she's doing.
You know, since you said that, she says, she gets mad at her neighbor next door.
She thinks, she said, he's always thrown stuff at my house.
And she has a lot of treats.
And I know they fall sticks and things fall on her house all the time from these trees.
I mean, the amount of leaves I've raped from there could fill them all.
But, oh my.
Well, she never goes out at night.
She's elderly ever.
She pretty much stays inside and she has close neighbors next door.
So my money's on her anyway.
Yeah, I hear you.
knew my mom. She's a tough punching girl. Yeah, I hear you. I hear you. Well, I really appreciate
you taking the time, Melissa, to come on the show and share what happened to you. Thank you so much
for your time. And thank you. Thank you so much for your time and listening to me. And that's it for
tonight. Everyone remember, VVand Encounter. Shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at
