I'm also going to be over there still in videos, just not in a full-time producorial capacity. I'm now just going to be a full-time silly guy. You have two homes. Two homes. Smosh and Mythical. So you'll be a silly guy over there, and now you're going to be a silly guy here far more often. Far more often, yeah, and probably I don't know, probably a little

Now you know that about me. So wait, how long ago did this start to happen? Did you start to make this move? Oh, God. Just like a few months ago. I mean, I was kind of at this point where I was like, I think I've come to realize more of my passions. I'd been with Rhett and Link for four years,

being a producer. And I was like, I love that, but I think I just love, you know, being on camera more. And I want to be able to do that over here as well. Because I like hanging out with you guys. We love hanging out. Yeah, man. Like hanging out with you guys.

And there was an opportunity to do that. And it's also an opportunity for me to kind of pursue my own content in my own time. stream and do other oh yeah tell us about that tell us about that or just like your own content what do you what do you like to talk about um yeah i mean i love like i've been streaming god since since i don't know how long since for like five years now to like i don't know back when i first started like five years now to like, I don't know, back when I first started, I was like, oh, it'd be fun to just do it. And there was like two viewers, whatever. And then when I joined Mythical, then I was like, oh, I actually

have kind of an audience now, but just not the time to devote to it. So yeah, I just stream on Twitch. And now that I'm going to have a lot more time, I can put more energy into that, have fun ideas to do things and not just kind of click start stream and then sit in my chair. Right. Because you're probably exhausted from being full time. Yeah. And then going and doing your passion of streaming. Yeah.

So busy cooking shit all the time. Yeah. Ethical. Yeah. Because you were cooking. I was cooking. And you were producing. Yes.

Correct. And now you're going to be a Smosh cast member, so you're going to not be cooking at all over here. Great. Just heads up. Awesome. We might make you cook. Okay.

and not have to like put a lot of effort into it. That is the coolest tattoo. Is some cookies. So you have a tattoo of cookies and milk and a croissant. And a croissant. That I will never make for anyone because baking croissants at home is the worst thing.

Yeah. That was like the first time I met you. Yeah. And it was like the Google search history. Trevor and I have not. That's crazy. We've not done videos together really ever except for Google search. Yeah.

And that was crazy. That was a long time ago. That was a really long time ago. I can't remember how long. That feels like, I remember being very nervous for that. I think that might have been one of the first kind of not pit videos, not a try not to laugh. I think that was one of my first kind of format videos. That's when we started the psych videos,

the white psych videos that were all improvised. We didn't really have those before. And now we don't do those, so you don't have to worry about it. Don't have to worry. Never have to be nervous again. Do you have stuff? What is it you're excited about doing here? I don't know.

I feel like it's just a lot looser. And Rhett and Link have their brand, and it's fun to be on GMM episodes. Mythical Kitchen is awesome. I love Goofy Room with Josh. But cooking funny is different than just this kind of funny, I think. I feel like I can be a lot more myself,

I guess, because there's less to focus on. Definitely. My mindset when I'm here is just dial it up. Just come in, be as energetic and stupid as possible. And I love that. I remember going on mythical kitchen and it's, it was so much fun to be cooking something, but I remember it's such a different vibe because there's, there's so much

more structure and it's, there's a little bit more pressure of like, I need to cook this thing. I'm trying to be entertaining, but I'm also cooking this thing and I need to do it sort of well. I can't just be fucking around yeah um meanwhile over here at Smosh you know it's like oh we're gonna play a board game or yeah we're gonna just yeah sit here and just it doesn't mean it's not complicated but no but I think it's actually in some ways what's tough is that it's like oh it's entirely on just your personality yeah you're not you're not cooking something there's not something interesting on the table necessarily you are the interesting person that's where the switch is gonna be yeah

so we're gonna find out if you're actually interesting we're gonna find out no that i mean that was honestly a very like scary thing for me when i first ever like came over here and did something and i was like i don't know i came in and started doing things very slowly it was like oh trevor you're gonna come in for one joke on try not to laugh and It was like, oh, Trevor, you're going to come in for one joke on Try Not to Laugh. And that was like, even that was a lot of pressure because I don't, I never viewed myself as like a, not an unfunny person. I was, I didn't think I was unfunny, but I was coming in here and I was like, these are all professional funny people. Like at that time I was like, I just saw myself as like, I'm cooking. That's what I'm best at. And I think over time I've got more confidence in being like, no, I can be like funny and without that vessel. But it was something that I was really nervous about.

And so I am still nervous about that coming in and being like I really have to rely on my personality and like my wit and things like that. Like it is a different kind of performance. But I'm excited. Honestly, it's going to be, I would say like, yes, the first month might be a little bit like, uh, help. But I would say we're very welcoming. Yeah. Very loving. And at least you got to like be a guest here for years. Whereas Amanda, you just had to hop into it. Oh yeah. I just jumped in yeah i i did i did my audition with i think damien yeah and then i just jumped in and i remember being like okay i gotta put it on right now because i was so used to performing on stage but now it's like five cameras

yeah right and then it's like cut do that again it's like you want me to recreate that magic yeah i don't know how how to recreate it i kind of just had to i was in a very like stressy kind of busy place so i was like all right cool here we go here we go here we go do you know what i mean i didn't have a lot of downtime to really overthink it which i think actually helped me yeah but they i wasn't like thrown into a million things when i first started here i remember you were only on the Sketch channel. Yep. You were doing sketches because somewhere along the line,

someone was like, oh yeah, she doesn't want to do pit and games. Yeah. And then it was just like, then finally, then someone asked you and you're like, yeah, I'd love to. Yeah.

Like maybe I think two years later, they were like, hey, do you, I thought you, do you do improv? I'm like, literally it's all I do. Like, yeah, I do improv.

Like, I'd love to be on Pit and Games. And they were like, oh, well, I thought you were like a professional actor. And I was like, yeah? But why can't I be on Pit and Games? I could be a professional actor. You could be both. Yeah. And now you're just a full-on YouTuber.

I mean, we played Five Nights at Freddy's. Okay. That's great. He played Five Nights at Freddy's. No, I handed her the controller sometime. That's true. I handed it to her at the worst moments. Yeah.

We played the first one. Dude, I played the first one recently. Insane. There's just zero gameplay. Oh, yeah. You're just sitting there looking at a laptop and looking around. If you turn up the level of each of the characters.

Oh yeah, we turned them all up to 20. We turned them all up to 20 and he literally handed me the remote control and I was like, ah, and then the fucking coyote just ran. Foxy just got her. Foxy. It was awesome. God.

Yeah, okay, so you're now joining. Yes. I'm curious, what do you think of Smosh? I want to know your assumptions of this place. What do you think it's like working here on a more regular basis? Oh, my God. That's tough. I mean, because when I first started working at Mythical, we were in the same office at that point. And so I feel like I got very slowly introduced to everyone,

which I think has made it a lot easier to kind of like be here because I already know a lot of people and kind of have a back and forth. But being here like more often, like on a regular basis and for like full days, I don't know. I feel like it's a different kind of buttoned up than we are over at Mythical.

Where like you're professional, you're on top of it, like there's a schedule that we're sticking to. But I don't know how to say this without being mean. It's not mean, it's just like funnier. I don't know. Whoa! I don't know. Like that's so cheap.

So Smosh is funnier than Mythical? That's just like screwed up. I know. It's not screwed up. I see what you're saying. Because I remember, like I said, we worked next to Mythical as well for a while. And I got to go and guest on a couple of things there.

And it's just structure is just such a great way i can describe it like i am so impressed by by mythicals like they they are so efficient they are they their videos they are on time they're filming their things they they get everything they need to do but here we're just kind of like going yeah and um we do have a lot of structure. I would say we're still pretty, we're very structured. Yeah. I would say this year, we have so many more women working here, which, thank the Lord.

Woo! Things are running so much more smooth. Things are just so much better. I'm sorry. Things are just on time. I'm getting taken care of. Like, if I have a big break in the day, I'll get a text from Amanda, and she's like,

do you want me to move up the chute? And I'm like, hell yeah. Like, I just think things are running a lot smoother. And I would say that it is more structured and efficient. But with Smosh, we have room for flexibility. Like, if we are going quicker in a shoot, we'll kind of like jump things in and there's just, there's more leniency here.

Way more flexibility. I mean I've just showed up and walked into the building and then. And they let you in. Yeah, they just let me in and put me in a video. I literally was coming because I wanted to ride with Shane and Courtney to something and I was like is it okay if I just come by the office

so I don't have to go home? And they're like sure and I walked in and And I was like, is it OK if I just come by the office so I don't have to go home? And they're like, sure. And I walked in. And then Spencer was like, you want to be in this video? And I was like, oh, wait. That's very Spencer. I will also say, we have multiple channels.

And the vibes are a little different across each. And games is absolutely the most laid back of all of them. They're very laid back. But like, super laid back. But I think like overall. Amanda's like, yeah. Yeah, they are. Amanda's like, yeah, they are. Amanda's like, and we don't like that. And that needs to change.

I love them with all my heart. We know what that means. All my heart. We know what that means. But I will say if you walked in here and was like, I need a ride, I think because this Smosh loves you clearly because you're going to be a cast member, we would always want I need a ride. I think because this Smosh loves you, clearly, because you're gonna be a cast member,

we would always want you in a video. Yeah, no, I appreciate that. And now you get to be in videos. Now I get to see you on the call sheet. Yes. No, I'm pumped. You're gonna be in content more regularly. So if there was, like,

one of our shows that we have, what's the most excited that you were excited to do? Like on Pit or TNTL or any of the games or? I don't know, I mean, I think that I'm just excited for all of it, I know that's kind of a cop out answer. Bullshit! Everything that I have done here, I've enjoyed. There's never been a time that I've come

and I've been like, God, I wish they hadn't put me in that, like that video sucked. I've come and I've been like, God, I wish I hadn't. I wish they hadn't put me in that. Like that video sucked. Like I've just always had a great time and just getting to be in more stuff and probably getting to prepare a little bit more. And like, I don't know, like not just like there's probably be nice to not just get thrown into stuff. Yeah. As fun as that is. But yeah, I mean, I'm excited, too. I know Spencer's talking to me

and one of the things that he said when this all sort of first started happening, he was like, I kind of want to do like some actual gaming stuff on the Smosh Games channel. He's like, we don't have a lot of gamers. He's like, so if you want, like I'd love to do some like actual like gaming.

And I'm like, dude, let's do it. That's my shit. Do you play fortnite i do it you play fortnite with spencer i played fortnite with spencer and it was like so much fun it was so much fun we um we we were just playing together and we found like two like they have like sports cars in the game as things that you can drive. And we found two of them. And we were like, dude, we should recreate the scene from Furious 7. Where Vin Diesel and Paul Hunt literally found a streamed Fortnite. And I was streaming.

And I just blasted the song, the Charlie Puth song. And we were just driving until we hit a split. And then they look at each other and they're like, see you later. It's not goodbye. It's see you later. It was awesome. Wow. So I just want to do that all the time.

I feel like, Trevor, you're going to be on the games channel a lot more then. Because it's true. He doesn't really have a lot of gamers. I love how we're talking about it like Hogwarts houses. But it is. Which channel will you end up on? But it is. Smosh will you end up on? But it is.

Smosh is like Hogwarts maybe, right? I feel like we're all across everything though. Yeah. But Games is so dumb right now.

We're doing dumb shit on the Smosh Games channel. Yeah. So you'll fit in because you're dumb. Well, was it? No, it was another time

I was just here and you were like, hey, do you want to be in this video? But it was when we did the Mario Party but you're dumb. Well, was it? Yeah, you ended up, because Angela, her wrist was broken, so she needed someone to use the other controller.

I played one half of the game with Angela. It was so dumb. Oh, yeah. So you've been in a video with Angela. So have you been in a video with everyone? I think so. I think so. Who are you most intimidated by?

Who are you most afraid of? Of the cast? Most intimidated by? We won't tell them. We won't tell them. Oh, my god. And they don't watch. And they don't listen.

I mean, probably. Is Anthony considered cast? Yeah. Anthony's cast. I just have spent the least time around him. And also, I mean, I don't know, not to be a fanboy, but I started watching Smosh when I was 11 years old. That's so cute.

That was like three years ago. Sorry about Shane. He's an asshole. But yeah, I mean like when I was, I was a kid when like YouTube

was getting big and like I remember just like watching Smosh and that was my shit when I was a kid and so like I remember when I first met Ian like that was a surreal moment

for me of like, of like meeting Ian. I'm like, oh my God, like, but at that time I had to be professional because like,

I was like, I don't want to be in the office and be like, oh my God, it's Ian, hello. But yeah and and I feel like I've gotten used to that with like Ian and being around so much but now with Anthony I'm like oh there's a whole nother person that I now have to like not be weird around and like you know if it makes you feel better I felt that too I mean I didn't watch Smosh when I was 11, but I had heard so much about Anthony, and then it was like, he's coming back! And it's like, okay, this mythical man is coming back,

and he's like technically our boss? So it is very intimidating. I want him to think I'm cool, you know? Like, I feel like I need to simulate myself as a cool guy, and then I can start being stupider. I don't think it's that hard to impress Anthony. Really? Do you disagree?

I think it's tough. Because what he laughs at, I'm like, oh. Then when he doesn't laugh, I'm like, oh. Yeah. Does that make sense? No, I think that makes sense. I get it. I get what you're saying, yeah.

I think he's a bit of a mystery. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Because I think he, I know that he's a bit of a mystery. Do you know what I mean? Because I think he, I know that he's been in a professional setting this entire time. And then we just had his funeral. So he's a lot more lax with everyone. But before that, it was like he was professional. So it was like hard to know how he really felt.

But I think genuinely he's very welcoming and very open. But it's cool to be intimidated. Actually, that time that I was talking about when I came in to get a ride from Shane and Courtney, the video that Spence put me in was a video with Anthony. It was like one of the card games that we were playing. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

And that was the first time. And I was like, I didn't. Because that was the first time. I didn't know that you would be here. No, that was the first time I'd met Anthony, too. It was, I met him then. I, like- You hadn't met him before?

I hadn't met him. Oh, makes sense. No, I met him once at Ian's birthday in, like, passing, but I don't think that he remembered that. And so, like, I was here, and I met him, and then Spurs was like, do you want to be in this video? And I was like, sure.

And that was so much pressure. I was like, oh, my God. Like, I just met him, and now I have to like, I got to really be funny. I got to really try to be funny. And did you kill it? I don't know.

I don't read comments anymore. Nobody complimented me from here, so probably not. Oh, that will change. I feel like, maybe I'm wrong. I feel like over even the last few years, the Smosh fans have been like

more of a fan of you than Mythical fans. Is that fucked up to say? I just mean like Smosh fans have been like more of a fan of you than mythical fans is that fucked up to say i just mean like smosh fans love you no yeah i think there's a bit of truth to that i think that i think that mythical generally their fan base trends like upward in age and so i think a lot of mythical fans don't get me as much like they don't understand i think some of them find me annoying because you think they're older yeah i think they're older and they don't understand I think some of them find me annoying because you think they're older yeah I think they're older and they don't understand my humor quite as much and then to them it seems like I don't know they might think I'm coming off as like trying too hard I've seen a lot of comments like that like Trevor's trying so hard I'm like no this is just

how I am like this is just who I am and so I think that like yeah I think Smosh like what I think to be probably a younger audience like gets that more and gets me more so I think they like that more I wonder what our age demo honestly is I think they're 13 year olds and then there are a ton there are a ton that are in their 30s I I some in their 40s but not prime demo is 20s yeah i think that's our prime there's definitely some 13 year olds you think so definitely even like age demographic like i feel like humor like i think that my humor is probably more suited to like here i think that like retin link brand of comedy like isn't as much how I try and be funny or I'm funny. So I think that probably also,

they're such a, they are such a laid back, like specific style of humor and they nail it, but it's such a specific style. Yeah. I remember when I guest hosted on mythical, I, I remember just feeling like,

Oh my, I feel insane. I, I found myself being like, i i should be quieter like i i don't know what to do because their their content is so chill and so like like all right and here we are today and we're doing this and blah blah blah and wow this taco tastes weird it's like that's their vibe the Smosh. Like, if I shoot and then go hang out with friends, I am, like, on their ass. I'm, like, making fun of them. And I'm like, wait, what am I? They're like, okay, you're a little hot right now.

And I'm like, oh, I'm sorry. I'm just so used to roasting everyone I work with all the time. Yeah. Yeah. So who are you most excited to work with? Oh, God. And don't you dare say all of us all of us all of us everyone um no i mean i really am i'm excited to work with spencer i feel like because of the game stuff like i think that we're gonna be like two peas in a pod because i feel

like we're probably a couple of the bigger gamers and definitely just like recently i feel like we're probably a couple of the bigger gamers. Definitely. And just recently, I feel like over the last couple months, Spencer and I have been talking a lot more. And he just, I feel like he gets me. He gets me. So cute. And yeah, you play games that Spencer is a big fan of. Yeah. Stuff like Fortnite.

Because Damien and I play a lot of the Dark Souls, a lot of that RPG type of shit. So there's a big niche. Yeah, and Amanda loves Five Nights at Freddy's. That's her jam. Here's the thing, Trevor, if you don't know this about me. I'm not a gamer at all. Really?

Yeah. I would have guessed that you were. Yeah. So a cool thing that we've been doing on the games channel is that I sit and watch like Shane or Courtney or Damien play games. And then I just comment on it. I will say she, you are a fantastic audience for video games. Cause a lot of people,

a lot of people will sit and watch a video game and they're just not into it. And they're like just sitting there bored. Amanda actually adds a lot to the game and that's so like you fit in. I'm so interested in it. And honestly, my little sister was a gamer, but like I was so afraid I'd get so addicted to it. And my mom was like very intense

about not like being inside for too long. That's valid. It was the type of thing that you'd turn on the TV and if you heard her car come in, you'd quickly turn it off and pretend like you were never watching it. Oh, okay. See, my dad is a huge gamer.

That's crazy to me. Oh, what? Yeah, like my dad was, he, I mean, he's, like, why, we were having, like, Halo nights at our house with, like, his college, like, they would literally, like, he would bring people over, and we'd just have LAN parties at my house. That's so cool. What? I was just, like, six years old playing Halo 2 with a bunch of, like.

My parents have never touched a video game. Actually, my mom played, I saw her play a video game actually my mom played i saw her play a video game for the first time like a year ago she played mario kart with me and my nephew and she managed the last second to beat my nephew at like the battle arena yeah and i remember freaking out and my nephew got so mad he was so pissed because my mom doesn't play video games at all has no idea what she's doing um i can't fathom playing halo with my dad well there's like it gets even deeper than that like he this is a fun bit of timely so balder's gate 3 just came out sure it's been huge yeah i watched that in play

you actually did play i did you guys created one of my D&D characters. Yeah. And she was hot. Yeah. It's hard to make a character ugly in Baldur's Gate. Oh, got it. Well, my dad, he played, I used to watch him play the original Baldur's Gate. That's awesome. So like Baldur's Gate 1, I grew up like watching him play. Like he's a huge nerd. And so now like Baldur's Gate 3 came out.

My dad and I are chopping it up on that. And it's like, yeah, he's just a huge nerd. That's pretty much it. Really cool. That's actually really cute. I'm very excited for Spencer because, man, he needs a buddy to play games with. He's got what? Not a gamer buddy.

I'm Spencer's buddy. He doesn't want to be friends with you, Shane. What? No, I'm just kidding. He needs like a really someone. I mean, he has Alex, of course. They're a duo. But I think that he really needs like a really someone, I mean he has Alex of course, they're a duo, but I think that he really needs like fresh blood to just come in there and game out with him.

Well I think that like it's a balance. Shut up. Once you have two people to play a video game and be good at it, then you can have other people that are bad at it. Yes! Because if you're like a solo person that's like trying to get something done in a game

and you just have three people that don't know what they're doing, then it's like tough and you're just like trying to wrangle people. I've been in but for the first while it's fun because you're just going crazy and then once you keep doing it once you've done like

12 episodes of it you start to be like holy shit how do I keep it fresh that's where it gets tough Amanda's Amanda's very good at this and I think because you episodes of it, you start to be like, holy shit, how do I keep it fresh? That's where it gets tough. Amanda's very good at this. And I think because you, but you're also really good at improv.

So you do the whole thing of putting on an outfit first and then idea. Angela and I have a pact. And we weren't even saying that it was a pact until we checked in with each other. We never plan anything. Okay. I used to, when I first started TNTL, I would have a we checked in with each other. We never plan anything. Okay. Wow. I used to, when I first started TNTL, I would have a couple characters in my back pocket.

No. We never plan anything. We come in, and now I just put on an outfit and then figure out the bit after the outfit. So I'll put on a whole outfit, and I'll be like, okay, what's the bit here? It's very hard for me to be like, I want to be a cop or whatever. For some reason, those never work out.

It's so much better for me not to plan. And I really enjoy the structured TNTLs. Like blind pairs, Simon Says, props. What's the prop one? Prop tart. We call it prop tart. Prop tart. It's props. When you're in the seat

you choose a prop for everyone that they have to use i feel like that really helps out people you know gets them out of their head especially blind pairs we just did it today and honestly you don't you can't really plan anything yeah you can put on the outfit which is what i did and then you walk out and then you have a scene with the other person and you don't know what they're wearing or what they're doing. It helps a lot. Yeah. Yeah.

For the longest time, I'd only ever come in. And when I was on Try Not to Laugh, I'd only done one bit. And so for those, I always was planning something. I was like, I got to do one thing. I got to knock it out of the park. Yep. And then I did one where Ian and I were together as like a pair. And I was like, oh, this is great.

Like, I'm sure he'll have some stuff. Like, we'll go in. Like, it'll be fun. And then I get here. No. And Ian's like, do you have any ideas? I was just going to say. Yep.

I'm like, I got nothing. Yep. But it was fun. And then I did my first ever one where I had to do like a series of bits. And I think I had like a couple ideas, but I didn't plan a ton. But also like I get so scared that subconsciously I'm just going to steal something from something that I've watched somewhere else. Like where I'm just going to go in and I'm going to do a bit and it's just completely ripped off from something else I've watched. And then people are going to be like, Trevor just yoinked that bit.

And I'm going to be like, I just, I didn't, I didn't know. Yeah, but you laughed. Yeah, but it worked. That's the thing with with trying to laugh it's different for everyone but for me it is therapy i love it so much it's like i go in there just like without a parachute i'm just like here we go i have nothing planned let's fucking go all right i love it a funny thing about try not to laugh is that i have a a lot of returning characters I've done over the years on Try Not to Laugh. Like the You're My Favorite Pizza Place, The Chosen, Dumpster Wizard. A lot of that comes from laziness because I'm like, okay, I have this character and people really like it.

So I'll just keep doing that same thing over and over again. Then I'll have to think of other ones. Yeah, exactly. It ends up working in my favor. But it does. It works out like repeating bits and characters works out because it comes out and people go ah you know when you're watching an improv show and you're like anxious for the performer i i have a feeling that people are probably like okay you guys ready back there and then we come

out with something that they know and they're like this is gonna be funny i'm not worried yeah yeah i uh i want to get I've been working on some characters and by working on some characters, I mean I like to come up with funny names. Oh, love. And then I haven't, I don't know anything past that. That's great. So I just have a note in my phone

that's just got like a list of names that I think are funny and that like eventually I'm gonna be like, all right, I'm gonna give this name a character but we'll see I actually I love that cause for me

it's like wigs I put on wigs but names are so great like a Melinda yeah give us a name I'll get one out let's see what's what's in store for us

All right. Now, part of my New Year's resolution is I bought a cookbook, a Taiwanese cookbook. Okay. And I'm like, all right, I'm going to make something. Now, I promised I would make something and bring it in. Now, that didn't happen. Yeah, I'm hungry. I'm hungry, too. Yeah.

I am sorry. I didn't bring something in. And Amanda's promise was that have to bring something in. And Amanda's promise was that. To bring something in. I took a photo because I figured that people are listening to this right now. And we, I can send the photo and we can put it up. Yeah, we can put it up. And where's your photo?

So I have a big hobby that's outside of smosh it's just for me um i like to make flower arrangements oh that's awesome yeah i do it every week for myself in my house and i bought this new flower book and there's you know compote bowls like the old school looking like i don't even know vases but they're but're, so they're bowls, and then they have like a little like handle at the bottom.

Do you know what I'm saying? I don't know. I'll show you a picture. Yeah, I'd love a picture. So, compote bowls are really tough because you have to like, oh, yeah, look. Oh, can you even see that? Can you see it?

wanted to challenge myself to do a compote bowl arrangement which I found is really, really hard. Wide mouth. And you need tools specifically to hold the flowers in there. is really, really hard. Wide mouth. Wide mouth, and you need tools specifically to hold the flowers in there.

Okay. They don't hold. Like what? So it's called a, what is it called? A pin frog. Okay. It's called a pin frog.

So basically it's circular, and it's a bunch of sharp pins that you have to meticulously stick the pet, uh, the, um, stems in and cut an X in it.

So it like stays in there. That's crazy. And then you need to have a cage over it, like a little, like, I don't know, wired cage to stick them in so they don't fall out. And you need to do it so specifically because I was like,

ha, I'll be fine. It looked horrible when I first did it. Like awful. Because it was just like all over the place, right? You need it to like flow in a way and you need to start on the outside and start with a bunch of greens

and then all the flowers need to kind of like connect and match and not contradict each other, right? There's like different flower arrangements. There's a painterly where you can choose like two strong colors, like a yellow and a purple. Or you can do monochrome, like all one color, different shades. So I made one. I kind of hated it, but I still took a picture of it.

It looks like a 1990 wedding centerpiece. okay that's awesome maybe at prom um but listen i did it and it was really really challenging it was really hard how long did it take you oh like at least an hour okay that's great no i'm glad i'm glad you took on the challenge what flowers did you use i it? I usually give up. Yeah, it was really hard. I used a dark purple calla lily. Okay. And I used white, kind of white roses.

I used these like white berries. And then I used this flower that almost looks like it was like dipped in snow. I forget what it's called. And then I used a bunch of eucalyptus. Okay. So this is what it looks like. And you're going to be like, yeah, 90s. So this is what it looks like. And you're going to be like, yeah, 90s. So this is what it looks like. Hold on.

And even just buying like a simple vase and a bouquet, and I'm like, why does this look like shit why don't they fucking just look good I learned so much about flowers by doing this like if you want roses to last you have to take off all the stems and the outer layer of the petals

I didn't know all roses any of that because water, all the stems, all the leaves sucks up all the water, so they die faster. But if you take off the outer layer of petals and all the greens, they will last about two weeks. What? And you cut them diagonally every three days, fresh water. Selena's over here just like. I learned so much. I'm like, what? And tulips, you can take tulips and bend them the other way

so they open so they look like a totally different now amanda's nodding to that one but selena didn't know that one so i'll make another arrangement and actually bring it in and show you what i've learned and hydrangeas if they're dying dip the whole head of it in a bowl of water for at least a day bring it out brought back to life will last another week this is insane this i literally when you said that i was like i agree with you because i'll buy my girlfriend flowers and she has like an eye for like arranging things and making these pretty i'll bring her flowers and then like i'll come back and look at them later i'm like those aren't the flowers i bought you like you just like i tried to make them pretty and like put them in a vase and then she'll just like rearrange them like that's completely different are you a magician

i know yeah i don't get it so sick that's awesome yeah i love that dude i love flowers but i don't know this shit i will i will make you another arrangement because i got i got really inspired like i got frustrated because it was so hard and i was like yeah wedding florists deserve all the money that they asked for but i love making arrangements and i just want to i want to learn how to incorporate like fruits anyways can I can I pay you to make one to give you have to pay me I'll make you one well I want to get I want to give one to my girlfriend I will love that I will make one for your girlfriend yeah yep she would love that you just tell me like the kind of colors that she likes okay yeah that's so

And I was like, all right, this year I'm going to make as many recipes from this as possible. I've started to change my pantry and kitchen into specifically being designed for this.

So I bought a wok pan. I bought a bamboo steamer. I've been needing to get more shit. Part of the problem was I would look at a recipe and I'd be like, great, I'm going to make this beef noodle soup. And I started to like, I thought I was like, I have all the ingredients for this. And I was like, oh, and I need a potato ricer. What the hell? I don't know what that is.

So now I bought one of those. I have one of those. But I have to make these rice noodles like from scratch. And that's going to be a journey. I haven't done that yet. Holy shit. But so many of these ingredients, I could not find at my grocery stores. Yeah.

Because so much of it was Taiwanese cooking wine, Taiwanese rice flour, Taiwanese this. And I'm like, okay, my local grocery store has the most basic bullshit. It's not going gonna have this so i drove like 45 minutes to a part of town where i could go to a specifically like asian market yeah and that was super fun yeah to go to a part of town in urban and to go to a market that is specifically this yeah and i was like everything is new yeah uh the the freaking um produce section was so sick i was like this is awesome like the the rice section probably herbs oh there's so much yeah a lot of rice obviously um and uh i i needed to find specifically like they're like yeah you need

to find long grain glutinous rice and i'm like but, but I was like, I don't, I'm looking at these different rice and I'm like, they don't say that on there. Like someone, and at some point, I clearly looked so fucking confused. Yeah. Because at one point, I'm looking for Taiwanese cooking wine

and I'm sitting there looking at a photo of it, but I don't know like the name of it. Like, because it's not written, like it's not written in English, like the label on the photo. And I'm sitting there just like looking and suddenly a worker just walks up over my shoulder, looks at it and it's not written, like it's not written in English, like the label on the photo. And I'm sitting there just like looking.

And suddenly a worker just walks up over my shoulder, looks at it. And she's like, all right, come with me. Like she knew she's like, you are so probably watching you the whole time. Like this idiot doesn't know what he's doing. Um, but I had so much fucking groceries by the end and I'm buying all this stuff. Uh, the meat section was awesome cause they have so much stuff that you're not going to see. Like, uh, the tripe. Oh, the seafood section was also nuts. Unbelievable. So much whole fish. Yeah. And there's a recipe in this cookbook for like a whole fried fish. Like a branzino or something? Basically like a version of that.

And I really want to make that. Yeah. Because I'm like, that's crazy. There's also like a whole squid recipe that I really want to make as well. The stuff that is so different from anything I've ever made or even had at restaurants crazy there's also like a whole squid recipe yeah that i really want to make as well the the stuff that is so different from anything i've ever made or even had at restaurants is what i'm most excited for yeah um and then the big challenge will eventually be doing soup dumplings oh soup

dumplings and that's gonna be like that's bring that in that's gonna be like four days of prep and i'm gonna fail and i'm gonna know i'm gonna fail and that's gonna be tough. So what I did make so far, what I've been mainly doing is I've been steaming so many vegetables in the bamboo steamer. Dude, a wok in a bamboo steamer, you just throw as many vegetables in it as you want and they're delicious.

It's a miracle. But I did make braised minced pork belly. And very simple, Super simple recipe. It's one of the easiest ones in the book. Cooked it for like two hours or so. And then I made that, put that over rice. And that was unbelievable. Like, hell yeah.

That's awesome. Hell yeah. I knew then that I at least got a lot of the right seasonings, which I was kind of worried about. Because I'm like, I hope this is the right stuff. So that's good. By the time this airs, there's some other simple recipes i want to make like uh scallion pancakes yeah um i tried i was gonna make that last night but we were filming a sketch until late and i was just

like i got home and i was like i'm not no yeah maybe this weekend i'll make scallion pancakes um and i'm gonna just keep going through there through. There's a recipe for fried dough. It's called fried crullers or something like that. Like a cruller? Cruller. It's like a dough. Like a donut. Yeah.

It's basically like that. A French cruller. That was my grandmother's favorite donut. They have it at Dunkin' Donuts. Yeah, but they have a version of that. And so I'll be frying up a lot of stuff in my walk. That's great. I love that.

Look at you. I'm stoked, man. Awesome. I'm freaking stoked. Yeah, those were kind of like hobbies that we had outside of Smosh that we were going to. It's the journey. Yeah, that's our journey. That's great.

They're little cakes that are filled with a pineapple jelly type of situation. Oh, that's awesome. But I couldn't find cake flour at the grocery store. I know that sounds stupid. I couldn't find it. Interesting. They didn't have it. Was it just flour?

No, it said cake flour, but cake flour is different, right? There's a lot of different kinds of flour. And all they had was those boxes. Dude, back in my prime, I could just pick up a piece of flour. I could take a little pinch of flour and tell you what kind of flour it was. That's so cool. In my prime, I could be like, this is bread flour, this is AP flour. You're like the John Wick of flour.

That is so cool. Well, not anymore. Yeah, you've lost your time. You've changed. Yeah. Now you're here at Smosh. Now you're a cast member at Smosh. Well, actually, it's funny. I mean, you talking about all that cooking, one thing I'm really excited about is because

I love cooking, but when cooking is my full-time job, I realize I've never cooked. And I want to do it more. I want to make fun dishes for Raven and I. I want to be able to go to the grocery store and like pick out a bunch of things and like spend real time cooking and really enjoy it instead of just feeling like it's a chore or a job like I'm excited for that I relate to that because outside of here I never laugh I never make jokes never laugh I leave Smosh I'm just like oh god that makes sense how many bits are you doing outside work? Never. It's so important to have hobbies outside of your job.
