Hey what's up guys and welcome back to the channel and today we're getting into some creepy
Reddit threads. Today's stories and Reddit threads are disturbing, weird, terrifying and just
super, super interesting. So you'll want to stick around. And yeah, today's threads are insane.
We've got some news articles and 911 calls we're going to get into as well that go along with
the stories and they're just crazy. And I appreciate you stopping by and clicking on the video.
And please consider subscribing to the channel. The channel's goal is 1 million subscribers.
and consider liking the video while you're down there.
It means the world.
And this will be a long enough video already, so sit back, relax,
grab a drink, grab a snack, and without further ado,
let's get into some creepy Reddit threads.
My friend went missing in June 2020.
His skeletal remains were found one year later.
Police never told his family he had called 911 and stated his location.
We would have gone there to find him.
He could have still been alive.
My friend Kyle Donovan went missing in June 2020.
A missing person's report was filed the next day in the city of his residence, Olath, Kansas.
A little over a year later, his remains were found by a K-DOT employee.
Because of the pandemic, DNA identification was behind,
though the officers told his family that based on the items found,
they were 90% sure it was him.
At that time, the police also...
informed his mother that he had placed a three-minute 911 call the night he went missing.
He clearly states his location, but they never went to look for him.
They didn't cross-reference the missing persons report with the unresolved 911 call
so that they could have given his mother his actual location.
We searched on foot and with a drone for him where he had told his brother he was prior to
his 911 call.
That place.
A bridge over the Kansas River is within scene distance of his final resting place.
We were so focused on the river because that's where he said he was when he talked to his brother earlier.
They even threw an 80-pound feedback off the bridge to watch which direction it went.
If KCPD had told us about the 911 call when the missing persons report was filed,
we could have gone directly to him.
He could have still been alive.
Here is a link to a video with portions of the 911 call.
It took eight months from the time of the body's discovery to finally get the positive DNA results.
But the medical investigator ruled his cause of death as inconclusive, even though he clearly states,
they are trying to kill me in the audio.
Something is just so wrong about this.
I don't understand how this happened.
The police won't give his family any more information because it's an ongoing case, but
not a murder investigation.
So why the secrecy?
It would be extremely helpful to hear any theories or even similar cases from the area.
He went missing in Kansas City, Kansas, and his missing persons report was filed in O'Loth, Kansas.
You may have come across his information about him possibly having schizophrenia.
Kyle had a highly stressful job, was in a volatile relationship, and had a past history of drug use.
Kyle's mom tried to give every bit of information she could when filing the missing person's report.
But deeply regrets ever mentioning that he may have had mental health issues.
He had experienced a bout.
of psychosis years prior that may have been drug slash alcohol slash stress related.
His mom blames herself for the possibility of creating a bias against him
and thinks his case may have not been prioritized due to her statement.
If you ever read this, Leah, I love you.
And it's not your fault.
I will never give up searching for answers.
Please feel free to Google his name Kyle Donovan for more information.
Sherry Honeycutt with Fox 4 Kansas City has been a great action.
advocate for him. And there are several story slash videos she has produced with good info too.
Thank you. And then the OP links some news articles such as KMBC news article, Fox News article, and
a few missing persons articles in a flyer. And then she also links a 911 call. The full 911 call
and I will play them full. It's disturbing. But yeah, it's just very disturbing. But I'll just play it
now so you can just hear how he sounded.
I mean, he sounded very sane during it.
He was just asking for help, and I'll play that now.
The railroad on 18th Street Expressway.
What? Say that again?
The trail, or, excuse me, I'm sorry, I'm in danger.
Okay, where?
18th Street Expressway and I-70, where the train yard is.
And I-70? Okay, and what's going on there?
there in the city, some people made me feel like they were my friends,
and I honestly feel like my life is in danger, and they tried to kill me, sir.
And they tried it, and they tried their hardest.
Now I'm laying down like the war zone, and I'm right here north side of the rail yard on I-70.
Right before 18th Freed Expressway, my name is Kyle Dunovan, D-U-N-I-E-E.
Hold on a second.
Let me get up.
Your first name is Kyle?
Yes, sir.
And what's your last name?
D-U-N-I-D-A-N.
I-D-A-N.
And where are you from?
Right here in Kansas City.
Okay.
Kansas City, Kansas, or Missouri?
My house, my residence is in Douglas County, south of Lawrence.
That's where I rent my house for my two children, my son.
Okay, so you got to know some people?
Yeah, because I'm trying to leave my wife after 10 years because she won't stop pressing my buttons,
and I'm sick of my boys seeing this fight.
So I tried to get away from them out working.
So these people pretended to be your friend?
Well, I don't know, sir.
That's why I'm calling you.
I don't know the facts for sure, but I know I got you.
But you said they're trying to kill you now?
No, I don't know for sure.
But when I see one of your boys in blue, I'll explain the whole story.
Okay.
And so you know, they made me think they were my friends and they made me think they actually cared about me.
So I brought everything that is registered in my name and I'm not a felon.
I have registered firearms and they have them there.
Excuse me, I'll explain the whole story, sir.
Okay.
If you get somebody here with the squad car.
Well, I'm going to get more information before I send anybody so I know what we're getting into.
And what can you see?
And then the call just cuts off.
I don't know if the 911 operator hung up or Kyle hung up,
but that was the last time anyone ever heard Kyle's voice.
And his skeletal remains were found one year later.
And his remains were found at the location he had given the Kansas City PD.
And Kyle's mother filed a missing persons report less than 24 hours after the call.
And Kyle's mother was not.
not informed that he had called 911 for help. So that's very weird. And the Kansas City police
never performed a search for Kyle, which is also very, very weird. His friends and family
spent weeks and weeks searching by drone and on foot looking for Kyle and where he could have
gone. And they performed multiple searches within one half mile of his location the day after
his 911 call. I mean, he should have been found if the police told him. And he could have
still been alive if the 911 operator would have told, or I don't think it's the 911 operator's fault,
but if the police would have told him, but they just didn't. And Kyle's cause of death was determined
inconclusive. And there is still no active murder investigation for it, even though it does seem
a little bit suspect, but we don't know. And there's no official ruling. Just, yeah,
rest in peace, Kyle. But back to the Reddit post because the OP gives us an up.
update. She says, please go have a look at the video. Thank you. I really truly believe someone
else was nearby Kyle during the call and I truly believe I can hear that person say,
what you're going to do, bitch? Then Kyle apologizes. It is my theory that he was injured and
hiding from someone when calling 911. He doesn't say that he's hurt, but he says they tried
and tried to kill him. I think he's in shock and trying to stay quiet, but also trying to get the point
across that he's in serious need of help, which is why I believe he is being so polite and
respectful. Additionally, this was all taking place right as the BLM and the Defund the Police
movements were heating up. KC. or Kansas City was a hot spot for protests and some rioting.
One theory is the dispatcher could have believed Kyle was trying to lure police to a secluded
spot to ambush them. Anyway, I've been trying to answer questions as I have time. I want you all to
know how much everyone's comments have meant to me and Kyle's mom. I sent her the link to this thread,
so she's here now following along. You all have no idea how much your words have renewed a sense
of hoping us. Thank you so much. Additionally, I've been reaching out to private investigation firms
today, and once I have an idea on costs, I will be doing some fundraising for Kyle's family.
I likely won't be able to post a link here, but you can check my profile for info if you would like
to help. Kyle's family was not given access to the
victims of violent crimes fund in our state because his death was ruled inconclusive with no pending
murder investigation. Thank you all again. And then the top comment on this post was just kind of a
summary of the 911 call, but also a little bit of theorizing and why the police didn't go looking
and a few other just kind of interesting comments. So I'll go over it again, even though it's kind of
redundant and going over the 911 call. I'll just read it out now. And the comment reads as follows.
I found this article that sort of summarizes for anyone who doesn't want to look.
Kyle Donovan, 31 years old, called 911 for help in June 2020.
Excuse me, I'm sorry, I'm in danger.
Donovan told the dispatcher.
I'm an 18th Street expressway in I-70 where the train yard is.
I honestly feel like my life is in danger.
And they tried to kill me, sir.
And they tried it and they tried their hardest.
Now I'm laying down like it's a war zone.
Donovan explains.
And I'm right here north side of the rail yard on I-7.
like before 18th Street Expressway.
My name is Kyle Donovan.
They made me think they were their friends and made me think they actually cared about me.
So I brought everything that is registered in my name.
And I'm not a felon.
I have a registered firearm and they have them there.
Excuse me.
I'll explain the whole story, sir.
Donovan told the dispatcher,
If you get somebody with a squad car,
after three minutes, the call ends and they can't get Donovan back on the line.
The dispatcher calls back and his phone goes straight to voicemail.
without the option to leave a message.
Some nurse said his phone was never recovered.
Olaught's missing person poster says Donovan
may have been experiencing a schizophrenic episode
based on the 911 call.
Donovan sounds lucid and in control.
Two sources in the department confirmed the search was done
from their squad car
and officers didn't look for Donovan on foot
when asked directly.
And I just think it's so, so weird,
why did the police not really look for him?
Why did they not look for Kyle?
I mean, he called in saying someone was trying to kill him.
Why wouldn't they make sure he's good before just being like, yeah, okay, we couldn't find him, let's leave?
Why wouldn't they triple check the area, do his search, and try to find him before just moving on?
Very, very weird.
And then another one of the top comments gets into some theories on what happened to Kyle or just about the entire situation.
And the comment reads as follows.
First, I'm including my initial theory from just reading this current post and the news source found here.
But from your previous post from three years ago leads me to another theory I'll list after.
I'm keeping my initial theory because more theories be better as they can help spark ideas to where to look.
Initial theory.
Sounds like some bad people with criminal records befriended him to trick him into procuring a bunch of weapons.
Some sort of exchange slash trade occurred at the railways.
yards and they no longer needed him. Or one of the groups decided the new guy was suss and decided
they needed to murder him to cover any connections should any of the weapons show get seized by
law enforcement. Your friend would be a witness to who they were given to and could snitch on them.
They made me think they were my friends and they made me think they actually cared about me.
So I brought everything that is registered in my name and I'm not a felon. I have registered fire
arms, and they have them there. That was a quote from Kyle from the 911 call. Could he have said
bought instead? Either way, I still get the same idea of what went down. Now I'm laying down like it's
a war zone. Sounds like there were a lot of weapons there and he was hiding. Second theory. This one
takes into account the information in the three-year-old post here. I honestly feel like my life is in danger,
and they tried to kill me, sir. And they tried it and they tried their hardest.
Now I'm laying down like it's a war zone.
They made me think they were my friends.
And they made me think they actually cared about me.
The they he is talking about, it's whoever's house he went to.
So I brought everything that is registered in my name.
This is him just sharing that he brought all this important stuff because he thought it was a safe place.
But since he is calling the cops and there are weapons present,
he is doing the correct thing and giving 911 a heads up that I'm not a felon,
I have a registered firearm, and they have them there.
Excuse me, I'll explain the whole story, sir.
With that, some possible scenarios.
Number one, your friend was very distraught when he showed up at co-workers' house.
Co-workers tried to calm him or halt him physically,
or even simply verbally accused him of being on drugs,
and Kyle overreacted very negatively.
In Kyle's mind, they were out to get him,
gives them money as a plea, and then takes off for safety.
while hiding in the rail yard somehow has an accident that leads to his death or passes out from the excitement and chokes vomit
or a random mugging gone wrong.
2.
Kyle's coworker or roommates are actually bad people and killed Kyle.
Perhaps Kyle was already suffering from a wound when he called 911.
But Wall in shock was more concerned with composure when he called out for help as he went to hide in the rail yard.
The co-worker claiming Kyle handed out money was just a cover as they stole it from Kyle.
Some questions.
Do you know more specifically where his remains were found and if so, were they in a discernible position?
How far was this from the co-worker's home?
Was Kyle supposed to be working the next day?
Was the co-worker?
Was this coworker a newish coworker?
Or did Kyle know for longer?
Did they hang out at all?
What was their history?
Kyle's mom seems to think the co-worker
is a suspect. What leads here to think that? I'm thinking she may just be right. Are you sure all of
Kyle's weapons and other belongings are accounted for? Was his banking slash spending for the few weeks
prior checked just to rule out any plan activities that could explain this better than an episode?
Any other phone calls that he may have had the few weeks leading up to? And that night. Does his
mom have access to his phone records? If I were in your and Kyle's mom's shoes, I would hire a private
investigator to look more into this so-called co-worker. And then the O.P. replies saying,
thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. I'm going to get back to you on answering those
questions later on tonight. And the OPE just never responded to those questions. But those
were good questions for us to think about. I mean, all of those would give a decent answer,
but it's just such a weird scenario. I mean, why did the police not follow up on it?
was, you know, Kyle going through some sort of schizophrenic episode or some sort of psychosis episode?
Was he murdered? Was he in a freak accident? I mean, there's so many possibilities,
but and there's so many weird things that went on. Why did the police not investigate?
Why was Kyle acting that way? Why are the coworker possibly doing something weird?
Why can't they find his phone? Why can't they this? Why can't they that? It's a very weird situation.
and I hope we someday get an answer.
And it's also very weird the 911 call was not released to the mother for a long, long time.
I mean, just very weird all around.
And I mean, you could talk about this forever.
I mean, there's so many theories you could have on what happened to him or why this happened or why that happened.
But I'd like to hear your thoughts on this because truly I'm stumped.
I'm lost.
Do you have any good theories on what happened to Kyle Dunovan?
I mean, rest in peace, Kyle.
He didn't deserve that.
it's just so, so weird why the police didn't look into that at all.
I mean, they just drove by on the cruiser and they're like, oh, we can't find him.
So let's leave.
After he claimed it that someone was after him trying to kill him.
I mean, even if it was a schizophrenic episode, why wouldn't they still want to make sure he's okay?
I mean, like mental health or not, like, why aren't the police trying to just help a person
regardless of where they are at mentally?
I mean, yeah, just a very, very weird situation, and I really want to know whose fault it was,
what happened, and why the police didn't follow up.
Very interesting and leave your theories down below.
On to the next one.
Someone plays carnival music in our yard late at night.
Originally posted to R slash creepy encounters.
In the post reads as follows.
This is going to sound bizarre and made up, but I swear on my left n-h-h-h
that this happened and there are several witnesses.
Even if I can't explain why someone would do this, I am fairly positive this isn't
anything paranormal.
I live quite a distance off the road in an unremarkable house on private property.
My neighbors are all older family members who go to bed extremely early and whose children
are already grown and out of the house. In summary, there are no mischief makers to play pranks
on us here. A few months ago, my mother and I stayed up late one evening, watching television
together. Around 3 a.m. I turned the television off and decided to go to bed. As I was leaving
the room, I began to hear what sounded like carnival music playing outside of my house in the
front yard. It was loud and close. My mother heard it too, and immediately.
went to the window to investigate. She couldn't see anything but darkness. Everyone else was either
asleep for the night or away on vacation. The lights were off in all their houses, and none of them
would be caught dead listening to anything but country music anyway. We were miles from the nearest
city, so it wasn't the product of noise pollution. You can hear when a car is pulled up in the yard,
but there was no sound of a car. The silence where we live is usually deafening. All you can hear is the
ringing in your ears. Where did this song come from? Who was playing it? And why? I was very
unsettled by the idea of a stranger in our yard playing carnival music. As such, suggests malicious
intent. My father and uncle later mentioned that 20 years ago, when my parents first moved in,
the electrician had come to install a ceiling light and stopped in the middle of his work
saying he could hear Pink Floyd playing in the front yard.
Neither my father nor uncle could hear it.
My father is a bit hard of hearing, and my uncle is much older,
so they laughed it off and thought the man was insane.
But the electrician was freaked out.
He kept opening the door and trying to find the source of the noise to no avail.
Then it hit me.
The song I had heard that night was Pink Floyd's Cirrus Minor,
the part that sounds like carnival music.
I played the song from my mother, and she began freaking out saying,
Yes, yes, that's what I heard.
Who the hell sits in my yard at night in 3 a.m.
in the middle of nowhere playing the same song, which isn't even a popular song,
20 years later with no car.
Where did they come from?
They would have had to walk several miles to get out here.
Aside from this, the only other strange thing
we experience that would suggest an intruder? We feel and hear knocking on the living room window
late at night around the same hour. Sometimes so intense that the entire wall of the house is rattled
and it sends the couch against it into a reclining position. There are no nearby trees to tap
the glass and no animal except a human could possibly reach it. Fortunately, this has stopped
over the last few weeks. Update 1. Several months ago, I posted about my experience with an unwel
visitor who knocks on our windows late at night. If you'd like to read that post first,
here's the link to the original. This is an update on the situation, as many people have requested.
Shortly after my first post, I had almost convinced myself our intruder was gone,
when, as I was staying up in the early hours of the morning to finish a bit of homework,
I heard a noise in the yard just outside my bedroom. I sat there listening,
but could only detect something like machinery.
It was not a sound that I recognized.
I couldn't imagine what was causing the noise
unless the air conditioner was misbehaving.
But once it had quieted down,
I finished working and went to sleep.
About two nights later,
I heard loud grinding around the same hour,
but again could not determine the source
however alarming the volume was.
The following morning,
my father discovered someone had savvicts,
our air conditioning unit by first removing a piece of its inner machinery and later throwing it into the fan while it was spinning, effectively destroying its blades and a few other pieces.
The part had presumably been taken the first time I was disturbed by activity in the yard and thrown back in the second time.
I noticed it only because the outdoor unit is mounted against my bedroom.
We thought initially that the piece, and forgive me for my ambiguous language, as I'm,
not technology savvy, had loosened by itself and broken down, but we called a repairman
who begged to differ. He was surprised by the degree of damage and insisted he had never seen it
happen naturally, suspecting someone had removed several screws and tampered with the unit.
He thought my father had attempted to work on it and caused the trouble, but of course, he had not.
A few days after the damaged parts had been fully replaced, my mother was leaving for a doctor's
appointment when she began yelling and called the family into the yard. Our electric box was opened in
the night and left a jar as if someone had been trying to find a wire to cut our electricity
or disable a suspected indoor security system. We had been outside several times since the
repairman finished the work and we are certain he closed the electrical box if he ever even opened
it. We have weathered several severe hurricanes here and winds are not strong enough to open
open our electric box. A person had to have done it. Weeks passed without incident. My parents
opting to overlook these concerning happenings. My father tried to explain the air conditioner
as a freak occurrence. They purchased a new gun and did little else. Towards the beginning of the
summer, my grandfather mentioned that, a couple weeks prior, when we were on vacation, he'd seen
a red jeep drive the lengthy distance from the road through our private property to
our house in broad daylight. He didn't recognize the driver, but approached and questioned him.
The man claimed he was looking for a woman that lived in a trailer. The person he claimed he was
looking for had the name of a family friend that lives hours away from us. The man was behaving
strangely, and my grandfather was not convinced by a story. He ordered him to leave immediately.
Our family that lives around us on the farm is reinforcing their doors, installing extra locks,
and keeping their children out of their yards until we find out what's going on.
They won't even let them walk home from the bus stop anymore.
I had stopped worrying over it as much because I've been preoccupied with moving to a new state,
but the old knocking returned this evening at 10 p.m.
My parents were watching television together when they heard it.
They turned on the porch light and peered up the people of the beach.
backdoor to investigate, but saw no one. At 3 a.m., I was awake watching television,
when it sounded as if someone forcefully punched the glass of the usual exposed window.
I covered it with a blanket as I always do. An hour after I covered the window,
I began to hear loud noises from our back door porch off of the kitchen, as if someone
had stepped onto it. However, it was briefly lived. They apparently weren't walking around,
but simply standing there. About 10 minutes after, I heard,
yet more knocking, except this time it wasn't on the exposed living room window, but further down
the wall the window was on next to the couch.
It was three knocks, forceful enough to rattle the wall a bit, but not so much the couch moved.
This is more alarming because it suggests the trespasser lingers here for several hours at a time,
posing many questions.
Are we being watched for an opportunity to force entry?
Hasn't the opportunity already risen in the past and they never took it?
Are we being stalked?
Do they gather here to drink and get high on the property and then decide in their stupor
it will be funny to antagonize us?
Why is it only our house that is targeted and not the other houses on the farm?
Why do they walk several miles to come here?
Their behavior is escalating.
Will they eventually take things further?
I woke my mother and we sat awake together until the sun rose to keep.
We compiled a list of happenings here that suggest our trespasser visits more frequently
than they knock, despite no one in the family smoking and anyone who does smoke living too far
away for us to smell it.
We often deal with the strong scent of a cigarette around windows or the front and back doors
of the house.
This happens at our bedroom windows with alarming regularity.
Other times, it's strange cologne or a chemical stench, like a fresh perm.
we of course remembered how my aunt's dogs will bark intensely at odd hours of the night,
like they do when a stranger visits,
and the motion detecting yard light has previously come on when no one is home at my grandfather's.
My mother and I are going to walk around the perimeter of the house in the morning
to look for cigarette butts and will try convincing my father we at least need security cameras outside,
even though I think we should involve the police at this point.
He's been too indifferent to everything that has happened,
and it makes it challenging to be proactive about our safety.
And then before we get into the next update,
there was a few interesting comments on this second update.
Some commenters said,
I work closely with law enforcement.
You might be dealing with crystal heads.
And I know it's annoying.
I can't say the real word,
but you understand what I'm saying if I say crystal with drug.
And then she continues,
based on the information presented in both posts,
starting with cigarette slash,
chemical smell. You mentioned a strong, fresh, perm aroma that smell is most likely crystal.
It might also smell like sweet burning plastic. As for the cigarette smell, crystal addicts are
notorious chain smokers. Pink Floyd track. If it's constantly on repeat, then it might be someone
who needs a constant familiar sound. Crystal causes visual and auditory hallucinations that
leads to severe paranoia and psychosis, which might be why they keep playing that.
song. Next, sketchy dude in the red jeep. Usually people casing a home for burglary will attain
some information about family, i.e. names of distant family members slash friends as an excuse if
ever questioned. In your post, you mentioned that the opportunity for burglary has risen and not
seized, suggesting that they're watching and waiting but not interested in regular theft
items, for example, money, jewelry, iPads, TVs, leading me to. Broken AC unit, sabotage would be
anyone's first guest, but most likely they would be looking for copper. Depending on your AC unit,
some higher end units actually have gold pieces instead of copper. However, both are valuable
for resale. Tampered electrical box, some electrical boxes have diagrams and schematics of the wiring
and where it leads to. Again, copper wiring is pretty valuable. Unexplained knocking. Could be coming
from underneath your home or roof if these people are in fact trying to steal copper, but you
would have noticed that by now. But they might be hiding something on your property, which would
explain the knocking by either forcefully inserting slash retrieving from hiding spot.
Lastly, no sounds of vehicles approaching? You suggested they walked, which might not be too far.
My theory, these people are more than likely cooking crystal somewhere off of your property,
possibly in an RV like Breaking Bad, or more likely in the trunk of a car.
Your home might be the closest structure to their cook site.
They possibly started entering your property to steal water from your garden hose,
but their activities escalated because there was no apparent sign that you improved your home security.
Again, this is just a theory based on the information presented in both.
posts. A very interesting theory by the commenter and a well-written post, and then the OP responds
to this saying, this is an almost perfect explanation. Thank you so much. While there aren't a ton
of places to have an entire crystal lab on the property, suggesting it's an offsite,
there are many places where things could be hidden, including under our house. The crawl space
is accessible from the outside. We distinctly hear the window receive an impact, though,
and today as I walked around the perimeter of the house,
I discovered that the netting on the window,
and no others,
has a huge rip in it from something hitting it.
My dad claims it has been that way
since I was in junior high,
so the knocking itself may have been going on
for a lot longer than originally thought.
No one stayed up late enough to really notice it,
though until I became an adult.
Additionally, we know that druggies
used to get high in the fields a few miles away.
Because one wandered here while high on crack
when I was very little and asked to use our phone.
I'm not sure if that's related or not because the man is now in prison for assault,
but we know nothing of the friends he was with.
In your professional opinion, should we call the police?
I don't think we can prove that a crime has been committed yet,
with the exception of the air conditioner tampering a few months ago.
But your ideas sound so spot on that I'm very concerned something worse is bound to happen.
I'd award you gold, but silver was all I had.
And then the commenter comments and replies to the OP saying,
You're far too kind to give me silver, you humble me.
You are absolutely correct.
A crime technically has not been committed.
The most of the authorities will do at this point is recommended.
You get security cameras installed, which is a good idea.
Bring doorbells for both the front and back doors.
However, that's simply to prove anything wrongdoing.
I recommend you get motion-detected floodlights along with the cameras.
Another theory just came to mind
they are possibly stealing
slash using your electricity
to power their cook sites
which explains the tampered electrical box more
these people might not be going anywhere
unless caught or scared off
by a new lock for the electrical box
and chain it closes well
some say a large dog will make any trespass
or second guess themselves
and as a large dog owner
I agree it works
but Stinky is a part of the family
so I wouldn't put him in any danger
I wouldn't face myself. But discharged ammunition rounds scattered on the property is my personal
choice for intimidating trespassers. Also, familiarize yourself with the firearms in your home,
storage, accessibility, reloading, and aiming. I read a comment suggesting a booby trap. I do not
endorse such a method, but a bear trap placed in the inside of your crawl space underneath your house
is not considered a booby trap, especially if the yard is well lit, hence the floodlights. I also
read your concern of a trespasser suing if harmed on your property, which to an extent is true.
Fortunately, if the trespasser is harmed in your cross space is easier to prove malintent.
Simply enough, they are not a repairman.
And there's no reason a repairman would be working at that hour and unannounced.
You need to show that you're not afraid, and if any does decide to trespass slash tamper,
it won't be easy.
And then the OPE replies to this saying,
The motion is detecting light is a really good idea.
The one at my grandfather's goes off when no one is supposed to be home.
Someone stealing our electricity also makes sense.
I'm still wary about placing booby traps
because my aunt lets the one well-behaved dog she has visit during the day
and I don't know if she climbs under the house sometimes.
I wouldn't want her to get hurt.
I'd also worry about the toddler that lives on the farm getting away from his mother
and climbing up under the house if they were outside.
together. And yeah, I would agree with the OP. I don't think placing boobychaps is the best idea,
but cameras and the floodlights, probably a good idea. And that was a lengthy, lengthy comment section.
So let's get into the update too. I've previously made two posts about a person that visits
their yard late at night in the early hours of the morning to harass us. They stand on the porch,
tamper with our outside appliances, beat on the windows, break into our electric box,
and repeatedly play an obscure song by Pink Floyd called Cirrus Minor.
This has been going on now since before I was born.
I am currently 21 years old.
This is the resolution to that situation.
We believe the culprit has been apprehended and arrested.
If you'd like to read my previous post about this experience,
here they are in chronological order.
Despite the insistence of myself and other Redditors,
my parents never installed security cameras.
My father remained resistant to the idea, most likely because he wasn't willing to admit that something was amiss.
In the beginning, he complained about the cost, the possibility of hackers, and the difficulties with mounting a camera.
He eventually promised to borrow someone's trail camera, but he never broached the subject with them.
I moved to another state, and the need for the camera was no longer at the forefront of my mind.
But when I remembered and received my new debit card after some unfortunate idea,
identity theft, I offered to pay for one. I told my father that I would personally buy a camera
or two and have them delivered. Only then did he confess that he was afraid of seeing something
spooky on it. He had the childlike idea that if he never saw anything happening, the problem
would resolve itself. Despite all odds, the problem did resolve it. Not long after I moved out,
My grandfather, who lives in a separate house on the same farm, came home to find police cars in his driveway.
An officer approached him and asked if he owned another house on the farm, and he needed to speak to the landlord about his tenants.
The house in question is occupied by a late relative's widow, who has a lifetime estate.
My grandfather explained that the property is a part of the farm, which is owned collectively by him and his daughters.
because of this, he was permitted knowledge of what happened there.
The officer explained everything.
Apparently the widow, who is quite old and infirm,
used the death of my relative as an excuse to move in
her chronically unemployed, drug-addicted family,
among them her daughter, her son-in-law,
her son-in-law's brother, and her nephew,
because they don't own their own separate cars,
and we seldom visit the widow.
She stinks and is generally unlikable, so we social distance around her before the pandemic ever even began.
This transition went undetected.
Shortly before my grandfather had returned home that day, the police responded to a 911 call from the widow.
Her nephew is apparently involved in a gang and has violent tendencies.
Some conflict arose in the household, probably related to how many drug addicts were stuffed together under a single roof for 24 hours a day.
All we were told is that the nephew was becoming violent.
When the police arrived, they realized there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
He was wanted for, guess what guys, making crystal.
Which, interestingly, commenters on my last post blamed for the stench we had been smelling,
and we went over that.
And for assault.
The nephew was hiding from the law at the widow's house.
This is the reason his presence was concealed from us on the rare occasion.
that the widow was outside her home and we spoke.
He was removed from the home and arrested by the officers.
Ever since then, there has been no strong chemical odor outside
and no knocking on the window late at night.
We suspect he was aware of this farm long before moving in
and it was his go-to spot for recreational substance use.
The widow is around 80 years old and had her first child at approximately 13 with her first spouse.
So her nephew is elderly himself and would have likely been doing substances and playing his pink floyd music here 21 years ago too.
We're thinking he would occasionally spend the night at the widow's house over the years and walk towards the fields near us to do substances.
It makes sense since we never heard a car accompanying the knocking noises because he doesn't own a car and the house is not far since it's a part of the farm.
The only incident that remains unexplained is the man who drove to our house when we weren't home
and asked my grandfather about a family friend that lives hours away.
I wonder if they were looking for the crystal head and were told to give some sort of code
to make sure he was at the right house.
The name could have just been a coincidence.
I had an internet incident a few months ago that suggested some stalker-ish activity,
but that is probably unrelated.
I apologize for updating you all so late.
I'm satisfied with this explanation
since there's been no repeat occurrences
after his arrest.
And wow, that was a 21 year story
that was not really solved.
I mean, not a 21 year long Reddit post,
but still, that guy has been making Crystal
around that house for 21 years.
Crazy, crazy story and super creepy.
I mean, it started off with just hearing the circus music
and yeah, that was creepy in and of itself,
but then someone knocking down the window
that always freaks me out and all these other things.
That was a crazy story.
Good job on the commenter who guessed it was a guy making crystal.
Crazy guess, but good online detective work.
And yeah, I really enjoyed that story and that thread.
It was unsettling, but luckily it's resolved.
And hopefully that guy doesn't come crawling back,
making crystal under the house once again.
But we'll have to see.
Was I kidnapped as a child?
originally posted to RBI and posted on August 12th, 2024.
In the post, reads as follows.
I believe that I may have been kidnapped when I was little.
There's a part of my life that is completely blank in my mind.
I don't remember anything from the time I was five to six years old.
I remember things from when I was three to four.
I'm currently 21.
The only thing that I remember from the time of five to six
is myself crying in a dark room with only a three.
TV with a few old VHS tapes. Every time I've asked my mother about it, she'd always change the topic
and never answered me. She passed last year, so I never got a definitive answer. I tried searching
my name on Google, but nothing shows up. I've been trying to get in contact with family members
from around that time, but either they don't have social media or don't reply to my messages on Messenger.
There are a few more family members I'll try to get in contact with. My grandmother of my mom's side,
never met my dad. She doesn't have social media or a cell phone. But I know where she lives and I'm
planning to send her a letter to tell her that I'm planning on paying a visit. It's been four years
since I've seen her. I know she's live because I saw her in a picture posted by a younger cousin last week.
I'll ask her what happened because she was living with my mother and I for about three years from the
ages 47. If anyone would know, she would. What exactly happened to me? And then some relevant
comments on this original post. Some questions are, does O.P. have any pictures or records from their
childhood years? And then the Opie responds saying, I do have one baby picture. I know for a fact that
my mother was my biological mother because of a DNA test I did shortly after she passed.
I believe someone abducted me when I was five to six and I may have been found in return to my
family. I already wrote the letter to my grandmother with a date that I'll be going to her home
in Minnesota. I live in Michigan, so hopefully I can get an answer. Another question was,
was O.P.'s dad in the picture? Could he provide any details or someone else from the paternal
slash maternal sides? And then the O.P. said, never met him. One of the only things I definitively
remember my mother telling me is that he abandoned her when he found out she was pregnant,
and she never saw him again. I thought it may have been him, but he apparently was in prison for
about three years from 2007 to 2010. I was born in 2003. And the time of his prison sentence
happened at the same time of when I was five to six, so if I was kidnapped, it couldn't have been
him. It is possible, but my mom had a good relationship with most of my family. I know for a fact
I can get some answers from my grandmother, so I'll update in around two weeks when I visit her.
Another question was, could O.P be sure that it happened when they were five to six?
And then the OP says,
I know it happened around the ages of five to six years old
because I have memories of every birthday since my third,
except for five and six.
My only memory from that time was the one I mentioned.
My mother would always discuss stories from when I was little with me,
except for the ones of me being five to six years old.
And then some commenters had theories on what happened.
Someone said,
maybe you were put in foster care for her time.
Another commenter said,
was your mother single or maybe a bit absent during that time?
Maybe she placed you in a room with a TV to keep you occupied while she was busy with something else.
I'm not trying to be harsh with my comment.
This is a strange and puzzling thing to deal with.
Maybe you can have some counseling and talk through some memories.
And then the OP gave us an update on August 26, 2024.
I visited my grandmother yesterday.
I'm staying in her guest room.
and she told me what happened.
My uncle was a severe drug addict
and was always trying to get high.
It turns out I was indeed kidnapped
by him in broad daylight.
He picked me up in the front yard
and multiple neighbors saw him.
She told me that I was missing
for a single afternoon
because my uncle was dumb enough
to bring me to his home
which was 20 minutes from town.
Apparently, he planned to anonymously ransom me
for money for drugs or sell me to whoever.
Since this happened in a small town of the 2000s and everything was resolved quickly,
there was not much news coverage besides from a small mention in the local newspaper.
So, yeah, she also said she disowned him as her son.
And last she heard, he got arrested for indecent exposure over in South Dakota.
Too long to read, my family is fucked up.
And then some comments from this.
Holy shit, what an update.
I'm so sorry that happened to you, O.P.
I guess at the very least now you have answers.
and we won't have to question those memories anymore.
And thanks for updating us as well.
We don't always get that here.
Ha ha.
And wow, what an insane post and story.
But I just don't understand why O.P.'s family wouldn't tell the O.P.
I mean, he's 21 years old.
I feel like they'd be like, hey, by the way, you got kidnapped instead of just kind of trying
to sweep it on the rug.
I mean, I know it's upsetting, traumatic, and weird, but still, like, I feel like it's weird
that the family just never told him that it,
you were kidnapped for a day or two back when you were five to six.
I don't know.
That's just very weird and interesting,
but at least, you know,
OPE's fine and didn't get sold off to some other drug addicts,
but very, very interesting post and on to the next one.
On Wednesday, July 22nd,
a coworker of mine abruptly up and left work
before the end of his shift and hasn't been seen since.
One week later, a text message is received from him containing only these three photos.
Does anybody recognize the locations shown in these photos?
I work at a lab that makes prescription eyeglasses in northern Ohio.
Last week, Wednesday, about six hours into our 10-hour shift around 7.10 p.m.,
a coworker of mine got up from a station in a hurry, left his bag with personal belongings at his desk,
iPad, Bluetooth headphones, a prescription, phone charger, a book, and a couple of their knick-knacks,
and walked out the door and didn't return.
no one's seen him since.
Some of my other co-workers thought he was just sick of the long hours and decided to quit,
but that just doesn't make sense why he'd leave behind his personal belongings and not say anything.
We tried calling him that same night, but his phone would just ring until it went to voicemail.
And by the next morning, his phone was turned off.
My boss said he got a hold of his mom and that she hasn't seen or heard from him,
but didn't seem too concerned as she said he had a history of living somewhat.
of a nomadic lifestyle in his past.
She thinks he may have relapsed and owed some money
or just ran off of some girl.
Apparently, they aren't very close
and don't have the best relationship.
I know he had a history of drug abuse,
but from everything I've gathered in the two years that I've worked with him,
he cleaned his life up after an arrest in 2014 or 2015
for drug possession and had been cleaned since.
He always acted normal around me
and seemed to be living a productive life.
On the subject of the pictures,
A couple days ago, after work, I received a group text message that was sent to me,
two of my other coworkers, and six other numbers I don't recognize.
It was from him, and contained the three pictures I linked.
No text.
I tried calling, and it rang once, then went to voicemail.
When I called again and went straight to voicemail.
This whole thing had me feeling very uneasy, and I don't know what to think of it.
Does anybody here recognize the location of where these folks?
photos might have been taken. And let's get into the photos. The first photo is just a picture of
the side of a big building and then some sort of shed with a ladder. It looks like tucked away.
I mean, just like a, I mean, not a crazy picture or anything. Just looks like someone in an alley
took a picture. The second photo was a quick flash photo. It looks like of a sidewalk with a
X on the floor and some grass. And you can see his foot in the bottom corner, I assume. And then
the final photo is just another sort of quick photo.
I mean, none of these photos were like staged and set up.
They seemed like they were just almost taken on accident.
And the third photo looks like some sort of parking lot or back alley loading dock.
And then maybe like a, you know, nighttime light in the distance.
And yeah, it looks behind like a, looks like it's behind a warehouse or something like that.
But to me, this just seems like, I mean, it's almost like a butt dial pictures.
or like he just accidentally took photos, sent it to someone,
or like mental illness or something,
because this just is so random and weird.
And yeah, none of these pictures seem very cryptic
or like they have an answer to it.
Very interesting, though.
And then the OP didn't give us an update on this for a long, long time,
but then they posted an update on missing coworker.
And the post reads as follows.
I posted here back in July about a coworker who up and left,
during his shift, leaving behind several personal items and not telling anyone where he was going.
The next day, me and several other people received a text message from him containing three blurry
pictures of an unknown location. I received several good recommendations on what to do, and ultimately
the thread was closed by the mods. Today, when I logged onto my Reddit account, I was surprised
to see a ton of messages and chat invites. Apparently Nexpo made a video about my story and several
people are understandably curious about any updates. I wish I could say we found him, or at least
close up any loose ends, but I can't. Shortly after the thread was closed by the mods,
a police report was indeed filed. However, in mid-September, I was one of several people that were
laid off from the lab we were working at, so if there were any updates on his case,
after that time, I am not aware of them. I've done several searches of his name, since I left the
company to see if any media outlets reported on him, but I personally haven't been able to find anything.
Understandably, many people were suspect of my story and I get that, but I assure you I've not made
anything up, nor have I exaggerated details. I got some slack in the original post for not filing a
police report. I realize now that even though nobody else was willing to, I should have stepped up and done it
myself. At the time, my perspective was that, because I don't know this guy on a personal level,
outside of work, it really should be up to someone closer to him to do that, but rest assured,
a report was filed. I'll try to answer any questions you guys have. And now let's get into some
top comments on this update post. The top comment reads, I called BS on the story in the beginning,
and it seems even more so now. If a police report is filed and there is slash was an active investigation,
then OP could post their info, the police's public records, and so forth.
OP could also post a missing person's photo, but there was none of that.
Complete BS story.
Zero follow-up.
And just reeks of some sort of fake story all around.
Edit.
Mod rules say you can't post personal info unless there is proof of a report, missing persons case, etc.
O.P.
How the hell can you say that the report is filed and not provide us with any info?
No name, no pick, nothing.
Just a general area, northern Ohio.
Ohio. Several databases of the supported missing person's name had been cross-referenced and
turned up nothing, so OP saying the report being filed with Cleveland PD was a lie, likely,
unless it takes a while for the system to update, unlikely. And then the OP gives a response to this
post or this comment that was trying to debunk the entire story. And the OP says, to be clear,
I only created this update because people wanted to know if anything new has come up since he
original post. And other than the fact that a report was filed with the proper authorities,
I don't know. I'm not looking for any attention here. I haven't even posted about it on Reddit
since the original post was closed. And if I intended to create some BS story for attention,
I sure as hell wouldn't do it with my main account. This was a guy I worked in the same lab with
and at most was an acquaintance. I tried to do my part in helping by posting the photos here
to see if anyone knew the location. Other than that, nobody would the police or
family has reached out to me or anything. While I would absolutely love to know what happened
just as much as anyone else, I'm not going to go full armchair detective and start hunting leads.
It's not my place. If and when I come across something online, I'll absolutely post it, but
I'm not going to go down to the police station and start asking them questions. If they want to
talk to me, that's fine though. So what are your thoughts? I mean, the OP gave a decent response
to that guy trying to debunk the original story. I mean, this story has got
a ton of buzz over the past few years with people speculating what it's about. And I do agree with
OP in the follow-up question when they said, hey, it's not my place. I was only an acquaintance
with this guy. I wasn't a brother or friend or even mother or daughter or whatever. I wasn't
really related to this guy. So it's not really my place, which is understandable. But at the same time,
I mean, you could give, I mean, the entirety of Reddit more of a basis to go on to. You
try to find this guy, I mean, because apparently he's still missing. It's a very weird story. And I mean,
I'm fine with you guys disagreeing and being like, oh, well, it was fake. But I feel like,
I mean, it could be real. I mean, maybe he just had like some sort of mental health break or
maybe he was just like, fuck this. I'm not going to work anymore and then just ran away,
especially since the mom said that he was a very nomadic person and he likes to travel around.
I mean, who knows? Maybe he could have just been like, fuck this job. I'm going to go fly to Thailand or
something and just live across the country or live in a different country. I mean, that's a
possible theory or the OPE made it up. But I don't think it's out of the question that the
original guy just kind of disappeared. I mean, it's pretty easy to disappear, I guess. And so,
I don't know, it's a very interesting post and people have had tons and tons of theories on what
happened to the guy, but I'd like to hear yours. But that's kind of my theory. I think it's definitely
possible that this guy was just, you know, a very nomadic person. He tried to hold down a job,
but, you know, quote unquote relapsed on just wanting to stay in one place. So maybe he just went
traveling and never looked back. It's definitely possible, but who knows? Leave your theories down
below and onto the next one. Unknown Venus device somewhere in apartment. Are we being
stalked slash recorded? Need advice on what it could be. Originally posted.
to R-slash RBI, and the post reads as follows.
Strange occurrences I need to find some sort of reasoning or explanation for.
I don't know if all of these instances are related slash connected somehow, but these are
just some things that stood out to me.
Are we potentially being stalked or recorded by someone in our apartment?
I'm the kind of person that loves creepy stories of stalkers, ghosts, murders, encounters,
and so on.
And because of this interest, it makes me have a pretty play.
leak view of humanity and always think that people are generally horrible and always up to something
which makes me always be prepared to defend myself or my loved ones. Maybe because I read all these
stories that I'm looking for it. So maybe I'm just quick to think that something sinister is going on
when it may just be something harmless. I'll let you decide. Anyways, I'm a college student and I basically
live in two apartments. I stay in my brother's apartment a lot, but I mostly stay at my own apartment
that I share. I live with my friend, who is a pretty attractive girl, who is basically a
pixie fairy, which as a guy, I know older men love to drool over. So I always worry that since she's not
as vigilant as me, and really weak, that she can be an easy target for a stalker or creep,
which there have been some weird suitors in the past couple of years, but nothing like stalking.
So today we got a Christmas tree for the apartment, and we're just chilling in the living room
when we hear a sound from a device in the kitchen,
which is like two feet away in the next room,
make a swooshing sound.
And then an Alexa type male voice recording saying the word,
Venus.
It sounded as if a device was turning on or off
or something like that.
We don't own any Alexa products or anything like that.
We both have the female Siri on our phones too.
We both look at each other and say,
what the fuck made that sound.
She kind of chuckle.
and said, did it just say penis or, but I heard Venus. I go over there and see if one of our phones
were over there, but there wasn't any mobile devices or speakers in the kitchen. I go back in the
living room and we check our phones to see if one of us got a message on our phones, but neither
one of us did. She asked me if I was fucking with her, but I was going to ask her the same thing.
This kind of freaked her out, and with my paranoia, I immediately think it could be some sort of
recording device or something to spy on her because I'm not there a lot and I was actually about to leave
too. The only devices in the kitchen are a consori air fryer, the microwave, oven, and a water fountain for the
cats. I search on the internet about anything that could have made these sound instead of Venus or
even penis, which wasn't a helpful search. But nothing useful showed up. It's exam week and I usually
go study at my brother's apartment, so I had to leave, and I didn't want to freak her out with my
conspiracy theories, but I did. As I was driving to my brothers, I was thinking about it, and remember
that about two weeks ago, we were talking in her room for a second, when we both heard vibrating
from a phone. I said, someone's calling you, but she had nothing on her phone. I even looked at mine,
and there wasn't anything on there, too, but the buzzing was still going on. There are our upstairs neighbors,
but they are short-term occupants,
Airbnb guests.
But the phone sounded like it was in our apartment,
but we could not pinpoint where.
It wasn't from upstairs because we only usually hear faint footsteps,
loud bangs, or yelling and such,
because they are old New Orleans wood floors,
but would not be able to hear a phone buzzing that clearly,
even if it was laying bare on the wood floor above us.
In my research,
the only thing I could come up with
that could have possibly made the Venus no one,
was maybe an LG Venus phone turning on.
It's a burner phone that has a decent camera, but still shitty.
When you turn it on, it makes a swooshing sound that may be similar to the swooshing sound
recording we heard, but I don't remember it specifically.
But the only thing is I haven't found any video of the phone turning on and making the swooshing
and then saying Venus.
Maybe it says it in a new update for the phone, but I don't know.
That's the only thing that I could come up with, which could potentially be terrified,
if there is a cell phone turning on in our apartment that we have been living in for five months.
Neither of us own an extra phone, especially a burner.
Need to know what it could be.
One last weird occurrence at this apartment was when I was about to leave,
I heard a weird noise come from the upstairs apartment,
as if somebody dropped a bowling ball on a slanted wood floor,
causing it to bounce, then roll.
I just brushed it off,
as there was probably just some Airbnb guests making their usual stomps
bangs from upstairs. But I didn't know that there were any guests staying that day because it was
7 p.m. and I hadn't heard any noises besides that all day. Not even footsteps. As I was driving off,
for some reason on that night, I was curious if there was even guests staying there at the moment.
I decided to just drive around the perimeter of the apartment and notice that all of the second
floor's lights were completely off as if nobody was home at all, which was kind of weird because
what made that noise a couple of me?
minutes ago. Update 1. So it also just dawned on me that all of these occurrences only happened
at night right before I was trying to or about to leave the apartment. Every single instance
involved me in some way telling her I'm about to head out for the night. Just another detail
I just thought of. Could just be coincidental. And now let's get into some of the top comments
on this post. One comment reads and the top comment reads, okay, so I completely understand if this
isn't convincing to you, but please take this into consideration from a fellow paranoia-prone,
true-crime conspiracy-type junkie. But upon reading your post, I feel quite certain I know the
answer, as I experience this exact same phenomenon currently. I live in a 1950s house,
and for some odd reason, only in one particular spot in my basement, I can hear someone's
phone vibrating upstairs in the room directly above, so loud and clear that it actually freaked
me out and froze me dead in my tracks the first handful of times I noticed this in recent months.
Recently rearranged the basement, so spending extended time in the spot is completely new.
And the most bizarre part is, no other sound, whether it be speaking voices, the TV, etc., travels even
remotely as much as phone vibrating specifically does.
For reference, the floors are carpet over hardwood, and there's solid, naughty pine wall panels in the basement.
Not sure if this could be contributing to the sound carrying, but I recall mention of an older structure and wood flooring in near situation as well.
I bet money, you are indeed hearing a phone vibrating upstairs, despite very possibly not hearing other types of sounds carrying nearly as much or at all, because I've concluded this is the cause for me.
However, if you're hearing this vibrating and Venus sound continue when the unit in question
is seemingly unoccupied to the best of your knowledge, then I'm not so sure my theory holds
up for your situation.
As in my situation, the phones have to be nearly directly above me for this to occur.
The other inexplicable loud thump could be easily explained away by numerous random things,
but I totally understand how that can seem notable and worth making a mental note of,
given other recent happenings you've experienced.
That I personally wouldn't worry about
unless it becomes a continued, unexplainable concern or disturbance.
I hope my thoughts gave you something to consider.
I hope you find some answers and peace of mind
to whatever it is that's going on.
And my apologies in advance,
if I just wrote this wall of text only for others to have beat me to posting the same thing,
didn't have time to scan all comments before typing away.
And then the OPE responses saying,
no, this was helpful.
Obviously, I believe that all of these instances are separate.
But since these are things that have stuck out to me recently,
I left it up to you all to let me know y'all's thoughts on the situation
and how these things can be explained
without saying that someone is living in my walls.
I would prefer not to think that, but if that drives me to dig deeper on this issue, I will.
Another commenter says,
could the rolling sound be the noise of a sliding wardrobe door?
And then the OPE says, I don't know.
I only know that the sound definitely came from the upstairs apartment and not from inside our apartment.
And then some other people just have general theories such as the Wi-Fi router making that sound.
Some people just think it's a random device in their apartment that they might not be considering such as a fan or something.
That just makes a Venus sound or a swooshing sound.
Some people do have the hidden camera conspiracies or the theories.
And none of them really have much credibility.
A lot of other people have the upstairs neighbor phone buzzing conspiracy or theory.
But yeah, everyone just has a ton of different theories,
but a lot of people just think it's a Bluetooth speaker or something of the sort.
But then the OP gives us an update, and it's pretty disturbing.
The update reads as follows.
Venus noise possible stalker update found something disturbing that is messing
with my head.
Hi everyone, so I posted a while back in December trying to identify some strange things that
were happening in my friend and I's apartment.
You can view original post here.
So since my last post, I've done a few things.
Number one, I searched every cracking crevice in the apartment and came up with nothing
on anything out of the ordinary.
Two, I purchased a hidden camera slash bug detector and searched throughout the house and didn't
come up with anything.
Number three, I sleep within reach of not one, but two guns in two different rooms just in case something were to happen.
Now, we were presented with a wait and see what happens kind of situation, and then act accordingly from there.
For the past month or so, everything seemed to be fine, nothing out of the ordinary.
And eventually, we even forgot about the whole thing in general.
Then we started hearing a weird noise outside that sounded kind of like an intermittent,
buzzing or hum towards the back of the house where the bathroom window was located.
Houses make weird noises all the time, so I told my friend not to worry about it because
there's nothing in that little alleyway on the side of the house besides overgrown plants
and an air conditioning unit. A couple days later, I was smoking a cigarette at night when I started
thinking about what that could have been. So I go around the house to check it out. When I turn
the corner, I saw a metal bench that wasn't there a couple weeks ago.
around the time I made the first post
and checked the house inside and out.
A bench is no big deal.
Especially when you're renting a house,
the owner is going to store some shit without you knowing.
The thing that weirded me out was where it was placed
when there are a ton of places it could have been put.
It was intentionally put right up against the raised house
right under our bathroom window.
I took a picture of it because something about it
to rub me the wrong way.
And then the OP linked a page.
picture to the bench. And as you can see, there's the bench up against the side of the house
with the window, which I assume is the bedroom. And so yeah, definitely a weird place to have a
bench. I mean, so someone could be standing there looking inside the window at night or during
the day or whenever. Very creepy though. And then the OP continues saying, the thing that weirded
me out is that when a grown ass man like me stands on it, you're at the perfect height to try to
sneak a peek through the tiny cracks in the bathroom window's old curtain.
When I could see through the cracks, I felt a knot in my stomach.
Both of us got a strange feeling whenever showering or using the toilet as it being fully exposed.
I don't know if that's why, but it could explain some of those feelings.
I immediately sent the picture to our landlord and they said that they don't own that bench.
So it must have been left from the previous tenants.
I know that wasn't the case because the bench wasn't there in December when I did a whole sweep of the house.
This really creamy the fuck out.
Who is going back there?
And how did somebody place a whole bench without us even knowing?
We literally never go back there.
My roommate has never even seen the side of the house because there's nothing back there of any interest besides an air conditioner unit and a couple windows.
The night I took the picture of the bench, I then moved the bench away from the window and flipped it upside down just to see what would happen.
I checked back a week later, and the bench is in the original place I found it, under the bathroom window again, right side up.
Fuck that.
As of a couple days ago, we immediately set up cameras on the exterior of the house.
They cover the door, the whole front porch, and the driveway on the side of the house where our cars are that also has a eyes on one of the entrances to where the little back alleyway, where the bench is located, can be accessed.
So we can now see if someone is walking back during night because the motion sensor floodlight
that lights up the driveway does go off in the middle of the night on the most random nights.
I stay up late so I always see it turn on, but figured it was always just squirrels, rats, or even
just possums. But the alleyway can also be accessed from the street by just jumping into the neighbor's
yard and then jumping the next short fence that separates us from our neighbor without being seen on camera.
Now it is just another game of wait and see.
I really fucking hope this is just a weird coincidence
because this is just fucking strange.
If there's actually a peeping Tom or a stalker
or hopefully not something worse,
then I'm grabbing my gun
and going after this person myself.
This is nerve-wracking, just waiting out to see
what the worst-case scenario is going to play out.
And this is just insane.
I mean, the OP literally just proved that somebody
is back there, you know, trying to peek through the window or the bathroom window. I mean,
what other coincidence could it be other than a peeping tom? And let's get into some of the top
comments. One commenter says, as someone who has caught a peeping tom before, here are a few
tips I can think of. Number one, the problem won't just magically disappear. People that are prone
to this type of behavior have low self-control and are possibly a loner. This allows them to almost get
caught, i.e. flipping the bench is a red flag for them. However, their low self-control
slash loneliness will cause them to do it again even after almost getting caught slash looking
over evidence that someone is trying to figure them out slash catch them. These feelings are
conflicting for the perpetrator as they know the right thing to do is walk away, however being
attracted to the victim they simply cannot. See how to catch a predator videos. When the
perpetrator is caught, look at the fear slash regret in their eyes.
These kinds of people are generally lonely cowards.
Number two, this is probably someone who has an unsuspicious access to your home.
It's hard for someone who lives far away to pull off repeated attempts at looking into your bathroom.
Try imagining pulling the crime off from their side.
If the victim lives far away, they have to move through the entire neighborhood without suspicion.
They would have to find a way to park the car slash bike they use for transport for an extended amount of time.
In order to meet their goals, they could be hovering in that alley for hours, which is hard in a neighborhood in which they don't live slash no access to parking without other people getting suspicious of new vehicles around.
Take that from the viewpoint of someone who has access with an excuse if they get caught.
Your landlord, if challenged, can just say they're doing maintenance or the neighbor can say they were just outside for smoke.
This gives the perpetrator plausible deniability something that if they are planning the second.
Number three, don't let them know you are looking for them until you have gathered evidence.
I know it's on your mind right now, but it's not the time to go asking questions about benches.
In my mind, you have already messed up by flipping the bench slash mentioning it to the landlord.
If the perpetrator is the landlord, now you have to depend on his inability to control himself
to catch him by now.
This is going to be a hard pill to swallow, but if you let the predator get wind, you're coming,
there may not be sufficient evidence to convict them, which could lead to you being stalked
slash give them motives to do something more dangerous. I'm not trying to scare you, just trying to get
you to get some gravity behind the situation. Don't talk openly about what is happening.
The perpetrator could be closer to you than you think. Remember you are essentially hunting a human
being that's hunting you. Are you acting more intelligently than they are?
Number four, prepare for the results of your actions.
Are you trying to catch slash convict them or make them stop?
Are you ready to go to court and face someone you may know?
Do you want them to just stop?
Or are you looking for a criminal conviction?
Do you have the money to find a new place to live?
Can you stomach living next to a predator if they don't get convicted?
Or are you still in the area after the incident?
I believe you have every right to make this stop.
Just get your ducks in a row beforehand and know your goals.
Number five.
Fight the fear.
You are scared, but remember, you have that advantage.
If you're trying to make this stop, be loud.
Make it obvious that they are not welcome.
Yell, it will attract attention to them.
Be obvious.
The perpetrator could make excuses such as they couldn't have known that I was there
or they're just outside by mere coincidence.
Any excuse to justify coming back to re-offend you.
They aren't trying to admit they are being caught.
The criminal always thinks they're the smartest person in the situation and can't be caught.
Okay, now we can cover things that make it hard for the predators to move around your home.
Number one, hidden cameras. Get a hidden camera to cover the area. Just know that they could be a
human stalking you and could be watching you put it up. Don't assume that you are smarter than your
stalker. Your advantage is not having to hide. They sell haunting cameras for cheap that take pictures
of motion detection. Be sneaky with your reconnaissance actions and don't mention it to anyone.
operational security is paramount to success.
Number two, animals.
Dogs slash cats have better senses than you do.
If you are not a fan of owning a pet, find a stray cat.
Feed it at night slash pet it and put a bell around its neck.
You were doing good thing for the cats.
Also, it's going to go up to whomever is around your home for pets and food jingling
that little bell.
There's nothing more funny than having a fully grown man run from a little cute jingle
bell's cat to avoid suspicion.
Dogs will sense the movements outside your window and bark, especially little ones.
Number three, passive obstacles. Put piles of leaves slash garden hoses or little things to trip on outside
your home. They are trying to be quiet. When on approach, they may accidentally step on your leaf
pile, which is an unmistakable noise. When spooked, the person has to run from your home
while trying to be quiet and avoiding obstacles while not looking suspicious. All that adds to the
evidence for court you're trying to collect. Number four, lighting. Light from a window at night
makes it a one-way mirror. If you think someone's outside, it's definitely counterintuitive
to shut off the light. I mean, it's what makes us feel safe. However, when you do, you will
be able to see outside of that window. You could get someone to bait them in and then shut off
the lights and look outside. You can probably catch them if you're quick enough, but I realize
that this is scary for anyone. Get a motion or switched light that's brighter than your
indoor light, which will reverse the refractivity of the window and make it easy to see someone
standing there. This will deter the offender, and it also has plausible deniability. If there's a
bench out there, you are just being nice to the person using it so that they don't have to smoke
in the dark, of course. In conclusion, don't take my advice as legal counsel. Definitely alert to
police at some point. I'm not a lawyer, just another board redditor that was looking for a new
community to join, and it was suggested I come here. I want to have to have to have. I want to have to
help you and the community and I apologize for the long workup and wow that guy had an amazing
comment i mean he literally laid it out the best ways to catch this stalker but yeah great comment
and then the opi replied to this with a short thank you that's actually very useful
another commenter said take the screws out but put it back together only slightly so when someone
stands on it you're alerted by the loud sound is metal falling over and then the opi said that's a
really good idea and we have never heard from the opi since then i know very inconclusive ending i'm
sorry about that and we have a lot to wonder about and theorize about after this i mean we never
figured out what the venus sound came from i mean i feel like the opi literally didn't even address
that in the update he just like found that the chair is there and then he's like oh well i guess
the venus sound was coming from wherever so we don't know where the venus sound
was coming from. We don't know where the
buzzing sound was coming from, but we
do know that there's someone probably
stalking the O.P. through the
window, which is crazy.
And yeah, I mean,
could OPEB, I'm not calling him crazy,
but I mean, with the Venus sound
and just worrying about a chair,
I don't know, this is a very, very
crazy
thread. I mean, it had a lot of
turns and unexpected things
happen in that final
commenter really did help outline it for O.P. on what he should do. But yeah, we've just never heard from OPE again.
Like the OPE literally went radio silent after this and hasn't been on the account for five years.
So hopefully OPE's okay. Hopefully nothing happened. And I mean, they didn't even give us a really good
area of where this is happening. So we don't know if we can look up any sort of news articles in this area or from
this area. But I have no clue what to believe. I mean, there definitely could be something.
weird going on, a weird stalker, but I have no clue. I'd love to hear your theories, though,
so please comment down below on your thoughts on this. But yeah, this was a long, long thread,
but very, very interesting and, yeah, sadly inconclusive. Is there a serial killer in Amherst County,
Virginia targeting hikers near the Appalachian Trail? I came across Reddit post,
where a user found an abandoned campsite on Mount Pleasant in Amherst County.
Really freaked the user out.
Enough to contact the police.
And the post is here.
And the post reads as follows.
Found abandoned campsites with RVA T-shirt intent.
What do I do with the information?
On the top of Mount Pleasant, there's an abandoned campsite.
Still had food in it, socks, t-shirt, sleeping bag.
But had clearly been abandoned for days.
No backpack, phone, or ID was with the belongings.
No cars were unaccounted for in the parking lot.
The t-shirt is a woman's small and seems homemade,
and then the O.P. links a picture to the shirt,
just a simple blue t-shirt with RVA across it, nothing special.
Are there any groups to post it to where this information may be useful?
Or should I contact the police with the info?
And via what means?
Seems weird to just call 911.
If the person is missing and didn't tell anyone where they were going,
I want their family slash detectives to have the info.
If the person just had a bad night in a storm or something and abandon the site,
I want them to go clean up their mess.
Edit.
State police are working with the Park Service on it at this point.
Not sure if to update me much more after this.
Thanks for all the advice.
Edit 2.
Nobody missing in the state fits the profile,
so all agencies I contacted closed their cases.
They could absolutely have been a tourist from out of town wearing an RVA.
shirt, but short of contacting every state police agency, I'm not sure what else could do.
And then back to the original Reddit post, or the original OP says, I started doing a little
research. Turns out there are two weird cases from that area within the last eight years.
In August of 2011, Scott Lilly, a 30-year-old male hiking the Appalachian Trail, was murdered
by asphyxiation and partially buried half a mile from the trail on a side loop in Anamhurst County.
The case has never been solved.
And then from an article about the case, Timothy J. Heafee, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia,
noting ATC's involvement as well, said that the level of cooperation on this case is remarkable.
He stressed that his office is placing a high priority on this open case as well as unsolved murder.
along the Blue Ridge Parkway and a 1996 killing of two women hikers away from the trail in Shandoah National Park.
But right now, he has seen no connection among them.
Then, in 2019, another 30-year-old male, Chad Austin, vanished near Panther Falls just east of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
His dog was found locked in his car nearby.
His wallet was mysteriously found months later near where he vanished.
He has still never been found.
He disappeared just a couple miles away from where Scott Lilly's body was found.
This case has also never been solved.
The wallet was found on a trail by a hiker on Sunday, December, 22nd, near the Panther Falls area.
According to authorities, the wallet was near one of the posters with his face on it.
They say the wallet was not weathered when it was found so they believe it was left there recently.
The wallet had his driver's license and other items.
identifications inside. Are Chad and Scott's cases connected? What was U.S. Attorney Timothy
Hatefi talking about in 2012 when he mentioned other unsolved murders on the Blue Ridge Parkway?
Could this be the work of a serial killer? And now let's get into some of the comments.
Someone says, hey, that's my post and I'm the one who found the campsite. If anyone is interested
in more details about it, please ask here. Here's what I know. So the original person who found
the campsite actually replied, so that's kind of cool. Let's get into what he's saying.
Saw the tent and got an immediate bad feeling based on the belongings, still being outside of it,
but the tent being in bad shape, peeked inside, and saw a sleeping bag, and immediately thought
someone was dead inside it. But after prodding around, I realized it was empty and just looked occupied
because it was thick with rainwater from the night before. Inside were socks that had been
Hykton, the t-shirt I took a pick of, the sleeping bag, an unopened can of soup or chili or something,
an empty water bottle, a Ziplog bag of your crackers, and a bag of Twizzlers.
The food was fairly fresh, but the tent had a few small tears and holes in it that looked new,
probably from sitting outside untended.
Another user said they saw someone in that same spot the weekend prior.
I was there on a Thursday, but it was both a man and a woman.
There were no male belongings with the tent when I found it.
nor a backpack or any ID or anything.
The tent had been sitting outside for an estimated four days
so it's possible someone took the backpack from the abandoned site
as backpacks are expensive and have decent resale value if in good shape.
Nobody has been reported missing in the surrounding area
by the description of a smallish woman.
When I left, my car was the only one in the parking area.
And this section is far enough from the AT
that it's unlikely someone hiked there from further away.
The campsite made me really uneasy.
I've had to bail due to bad weather before,
but this looked like someone just casually walked away and didn't come back.
Not like they bailed due to weather.
It's off of a loop trail that's pretty short too.
About two miles from car to site and only one parking area,
mostly day hiked versus backpacked.
And then under that post, someone asks,
have there been any recent developments?
Have the police looked into this at all and think is suspicious?
And then the commenter said,
multiple departments were notified,
including the Park Service,
state police in both Richmond
and Amherst Police departments,
including Richmond's missing persons division specifically,
but without any names,
I was barely given the time of day.
It doesn't match any currently missing people,
so they wouldn't really talk to me much.
And then the person replied saying,
strange that they wouldn't really look into it.
It seems bizarre someone would leave their gear like that.
I agree.
Another commenter said,
I live in that area.
and have been on the Appalachian Trail in this area.
I've heard about a couple of these cases, and it's definitely interesting.
Last May, there was a guy arrested in Wythe County, Virginia,
about two hours southwest of Amherst,
for murdering a hiker with a machete, and attempting to kill another.
I'm not sure if this is related.
If you'd like any help from someone who lives locally, just let me know.
And then someone commented, under the comment, saying,
I followed that case fairly closely, around the time it was happening,
and can say that I do not believe they were related.
The person who attacked and murdered the other hiker
had a history of mental illness
and was, like so many people, hiking the AT
as a form of self-prescribed therapy.
A lot of people, myself included, go hiking for our own mental health.
But in reality, this person likely needed a lot more professional help
than a hiking trail could provide.
The murderer was not from the area.
It's a really sad event that put a big, dark cloud over the Appalachian Trail community.
I threw hiked a couple of years ago, but I do believe this was a one-time incident
that coincidentally was located near some other unfortunate events, but has no relation
other than the fact that the Appalachian Trail attracts a lot of unusual people.
Another commenter said, I would say it's a distinct possibility.
It's generally agreed that at any time there are almost 120 active series.
killer's with a peak in the 80s of around 150.
Seclusion and a sporadic but consistent stream of potential prey are no doubts and enticing
prospect for a sick individual.
The general feeling I get would be a weekend hunter type, making specific trips a fair
distance from a normal home life, but I'm clueless about U.S. hunting seasons.
Did these deaths fall during the season?
It would seem too good cover for foresetting.
Trying to actually nail a specific individual is not going to be easy.
bordering on impossible. However, they do appear to be familiar with one specific area in this case,
perhaps an area that they have some sort of attachment with, which suggests that they may have
lived fairly nearby in early life and haven't moved a great distance from there,
consider looking into similarly executed, unsolved murders around nearby cities and suburbs
at a time before these murders took place. Serial killers tend to commit their first murders
in a sloppy and fairly thoughtless way,
generally quite close to home,
where they develop their taste and hone their abilities.
I hope that's helpful in some way.
There is a surprising amount of material out there
with more specifics and how the FBI goes about tracking down these people,
but they aren't able to commit enough time and focus into each case.
Keep at it. I'd be interested at how it turns out.
Edits, also, assuming it is a hunter,
have a look at hunting clubs within that area.
It's a long shot, but I doubt they'd want to put their name into the paper, but you never know.
They might have posted picks of legitimate stuff like a deer they've shot or something like that in a nearby area at the same time.
Someone being a member of a club, but living considerably further away than most would be a red flag for me.
And then another commenter said,
I'd like to weigh in as a bit of a devil's advocate for these murders being connected.
Though I do think it's possible, they are related I see a lot of discrepancies that should be a true.
dressed. First, let's look at what facts I got from some cursory digging. The first two women,
Julie and Lolly, were camping in the Shenandoah National Park. Their location was approximately 20 miles.
I eyeballed it with the map I had checked. Just double-checked. I have bad eyeballs.
West of the stretch of the Appalachian Trail or the other two were killed such that she disappeared.
Their bodies were found in their campsites. They were bound and had their throat slit. The next would have
been Scott. His last known contact was at Cow Camp Gap Shelter, which is a shelter along a small
loop trail on the Appalachian Trail. His body was found off of this loop trail, half buried. He died
of a Cicciation. The last, Chad, disappeared near the same stretch of the Appalachian Trail
that Scott died. His car was left behind with his dog locked inside. His wallet turned up some
months later, turned in by Hiker, and found it near a poster with his face on it.
So first off, there are a few major differences.
The method of killing is very different between the two women and Scott.
It paints a completely different picture of who did the two crimes.
Whoever killed the woman took control of them and then killed them in an efficient and relatively
effortless manner.
Scott, on the other hand, there was no mention of being bound.
Either he was subdued some other way that wasn't told to the public, or his death was a struggle.
Either way, definitely a big shift in M.O.
And of course, with Chad, there is no body, which brings us to the next topic of conversation,
the treatment of the bodies.
Julie and Lolly were found in their campsite, still bound.
Whoever killed them didn't care if their bodies were found, or might have even wanted them
found eventually.
With Scott, though, he was moved off of the trail.
and was buried, or at least the killer attempted to bury him.
The effort put into it says the killer probably didn't want the body discovered, but they're also
sloppy.
Maybe they were panicked, maybe running out of time to dig deeper, don't know.
Point is, why leave your first kills out in the open, then sloppily hide your subsequent ones?
Then with Chad, they were the opposite of sloppy.
We still don't have a body for him.
The wallet revealed nothing other than that.
Whatever happened to him almost certainly wasn't an accident, which I guess.
was the message behind leaving it,
the dog, still being locked in the car,
makes it unlikely he disappeared by his own will.
And it also makes whoever did it
probably charmed or tricked him into being vulnerable,
which is yet again a different MO from the other two cases.
Now, all that said,
I don't have access to the police reports.
I don't know things like the state of any of the bodies
besides the actual cause of death
or all of what evidence they're working with
on any of the cases that might help link them
or further disprove any link.
This is just speculation with what's available.
Side note.
I'm definitely suspicious of the guy who found Chad's wallet.
His case in particular seems like the kind done by a killer
that would then try to inject themselves into the investigation.
And he just happened to find the wallet's wallet while it was still noticeably unscathed by the elements.
The investigators probably thought of that and looked into it though.
So whatever.
So what do you think?
Do you think there is a serial in the Appalachian Trail or this is all happenstance?
And I'm kind of leaning to the side of happenstance because, yes, there was two murders,
but they were eight years apart or three murders or whatever, but they were very, very far apart.
I mean, could it be a serial killer?
Yes.
But could it also just be two separate murders with two separate killers?
Also, yes.
I mean, I don't know.
I thought all of the speculation by the commenters was good and by the original poster,
but it was very, very interesting.
This was a different Reddit thread
than I usually get into in these videos,
but let me know your thoughts
and if you'd like to see more
kind of true crime Reddit threads in the future.
But yeah, I thought this one was super interesting
and yeah, I'm kind of leaning towards.
I don't think they're connected.
I don't think there's a serial killer,
but who knows?
What are your thoughts?
My brother does some really creepy stuff
and I'm done with him.
Originally posted on December 1st, 2016,
and the post,
reads as follows. Well, hey Reddit, I'm desperate. My brother is really, really creepy,
like really fucking creepy, to the point where I look at him and I have serial killer thoughts.
Then I realize what I'm thinking and I feel guilty. Yesterday, for example, he picked me up at
the uni and was supposed to take me to the mall because I needed to buy some things.
I realized the route was different and I asked him where he was going. He didn't say anything. He didn't
say anything. I kept asking where we were going because I knew we were so far away from the
uni, and he was driving faster and faster, and I told him to stop, but he wouldn't. Then he
casually went back to the mall. I got out of the car and said he didn't need to drive me back. He just
went away. Sometimes on holidays, I'll be alone and he'll stand behind me and scare me. I told him
multiple times to stop, and he didn't. He's been doing it since we were kids. Sometimes I would
wake up and see him standing in front of me while I slept. Last Thanksgiving, I was sleeping and
woke up to him sitting on the edge of my bed, speaking French. Sometimes he'll show up in my
college and ask to talk to me. I'll get out of class, and then he'll just say, it was nothing,
and go away. Sometimes I see his car parked at my boyfriend's house, and I don't understand it.
I'm done with him. What can I do? Too long didn't read, my brother was creeper.
as fuck, and I'm done. And then some relevant comments under this post. Someone said,
O.P., you need to start answering questions so we can help you. Questions like, where are your
parents? And what do they think of his behavior? Has he been evaluated? Do you ever feel threatened?
Has he ever idolized you in an inappropriate way? Does he do this with anyone else? Help us out here.
Give us something back. And then the O.P. replies this saying, hey, I'm here. I'm sorry for not answering earlier.
I ended up sleeping.
Anyways, yes, when I was a little girl, I used to tell my parents about my brother,
going over my bedroom and scaring me.
My parents would talk to him and say it's absolutely not okay to do that,
but he wouldn't listen to them.
My parents also took him to a therapist when he was a kid
to see if there was something going on, but no.
Nothing.
He kept doing it as I grew up, except that he became creepier,
like the things I mentioned in the post.
There was one occasion where I was on a trip and another car,
country, and he showed up at the same place I was. Instead of being excited by his presence,
I was just so tired about it. So I asked him, what are you doing here? And he said, I'm just enjoying
France. You're the only one who can appreciate this beauty? I couldn't do anything, so I ended up
accepting it. He does have a girlfriend, and no, he doesn't act that way with her. He doesn't act
this way with anyone. He has a good job. I don't live with my parents, nor does he. Another commenter
asked, wait a second, this dude shows up randomly while you're in France out of nowhere and just
seems to bump into you? That's some next level shit right there, O.P. Did you tell your parents about
this issue in particular? And then the O.P said, I did. My parents were disappointed that he was still
doing that and told me they were going to talk to him. It happened in March 2, not so long ago.
And then the OP gave us an update on December 7th, 2016, which was six days later from the original post.
And the post reads as follows.
I talked to my parents and told them I was tired of my brother's behavior and that they should do something.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be going home anymore.
They said I was being too extreme and that he would stop eventually.
But that shit has been going on since we are kids.
And I knew he wasn't going to stop.
So I gave them an ultimatum.
They would talk to my brother and my brother would stop or the three of them could have a nice life.
My parents talked to him after all.
My brother refused to get evaluated at first.
He was really upset.
He went over to my dorm and tried to choke me.
He screamed at me.
Then he tried to choke me.
Then he realized what he was doing and started crying and apologizing.
Someone called the cops because my brother tried to commit S word afterwards.
Anyway, everything is okay now.
I mean, not everything.
he was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
He didn't get a full written report because it's been a week and it takes time.
But that was the feedback and diagnosis.
I'm going to be okay.
I just want to say thank you for the advice and stuff, you know.
I appreciate it.
A lot.
And before we get into the comments of this, I just have to say that escalated super fast.
I mean, luckily the brother got arrested or not arrested,
but at least we know he has something wrong with him mentally,
and that he's in probably the right hands now and isn't just going around freaking out his sister.
But anyways, let's get into the top comments.
Someone asked, so how will your relationship be with your brother now?
And then the O.P responded saying,
I'm not sure.
He's just getting treatment now after 27 years and it'll be tough.
Really, really tough.
I'll try to be supportive of him, but I have to take care of myself too.
And then someone else commented, wow, O.P., you're a hero.
You're the only one in your family strong enough to put your foot down about the reality of the situation,
and as a result, your brother can now get the helping needs.
Well done you.
Really weird things are happening to me.
22 female.
Not sure if it's an elaborate prank, or if I'm seriously, mentally ill.
Originally posted on November 24, 2015, and the post reads as follows.
Okay, okay, okay.
I've never, ever, ever felt the need.
to post here, but I feel like I'm losing my mind. I don't even know where to start. My mind is so
jumbled. I guess it started two weeks ago at work. I work in a factory, but I don't do the labor.
I'm more of a spreadsheet maker slash book balancer slash secretary type thing. Really informal,
but it's my uncle's company and I needed a job, yada, yada, yada, good pay. I was sitting at my
desk with nothing to do. And I hear my boss, not my uncle, just another coworker in a
friend of his, go, fill size as he looks at the weather. I look up like, huh? And he looks at me like,
huh? He didn't say anything. I was like, that's weird, but oh well, anyway. And then the next day,
I was talking to some co-workers on the floor asking them work stuff. And one of them called me a
bitch, but when I called him out, him and everyone else looked at me like I was insane. I
apologized and we all laughed it off. Factory is loud, right?
people mishear things all the time.
Except I was at Walmart.
I know, class.
And one of the workers there was putting away stock
and I swear to God he looked straight at me and said,
the chicken was just killed.
But I asked him what he meant.
And I felt so bad because he looked so confused and like I was crazy.
He hadn't even opened his mouth apparently.
Shit like this has been happening so much.
My friend even pulled me aside to ask if I was feeling okay.
Small things are happening too.
My boyfriend says he's making salmon for dinner.
I hear him preparing salmon.
I smell salmon.
Then he brings it out and it's lasagna.
I asked him where the salmon was and he was like,
what?
I said lasagna tonight and brush it off like I'm being silly.
I could have sworn this was one shirt I owned who was green and not teal.
Shit is changing and people are saying stuff but they're not.
People are narrating their lives sometimes.
There's no way my friends could be pranking me.
Not when random people on the street are doing this too.
I'm so scared.
I don't want to be thrown into mental hospital.
Not trying to offend mentally ill people.
I just, I'm so scared.
I feel like my mind is slowly melting.
And then some top comments on this post read as follows.
Someone says, you should go to the doctor.
Not just because there might be a physical or mental issue going on, but that needs to be addressed.
But also, so you can get an answer of what is going on.
Don't keep yourself in limbo.
That will drive you insane.
Doctors aren't your enemy.
And even if there's a mental issue going on,
that doesn't automatically mean you get thrown into a mental hospital just like that.
You've probably been around more people with mental disorders than you realize.
And the vast majority of them can live a relatively normal life
and live independently with some medical and or psychiatric help.
Go to the doctor.
They are the professionals here.
And then the O.P responded saying,
Thank you.
I'm in Canada, and I made an appointment with my doctor.
It'll be a week before I see her, though.
I can't believe how much this blew up.
It happened again last night.
Boyfriend City is going to the bar.
I shower and come out and ask why he's still here?
Because I live here?
I thought you're going to the bar.
No?
Maybe I'll go to the ER if this keeps happening.
Another commenter said,
not to terrify O.P., but this happened to my mother as well.
And it was a brain tumor for her.
This seriously calls for her doctor as soon as possible.
Another commenter said,
Yep, sounds pretty similar to a friend.
Go get it checked.
It's scary.
But my friend, she's doing a whole lot better now.
And then the O.P. gives us an update on November 29th, 2015, which was five days later.
Wow.
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow.
I never could have ever in my wildest imagination that my last post would get this much attention.
I was on my boyfriend's Reddit account on his phone and actually saw my own post near the first page.
I was floored.
Then he saw what I was looking at and we had a pretty awkward conversation.
Basically asked me why I posted something like that.
He'd read it but only when he saw me on the page it clicked that he saw the same username on my laptop on Reddit.
He never imagined it was me.
I did change some details about my life in the last post.
So we talked for a long time.
And finally, he said that he was taking me to emergency.
I didn't want to go.
I just wanted to wait for my appointment,
not because I didn't think it was serious,
but because I had no clue how to explain
what was happening to the doctors and nurses,
especially for it to warrant an emergency visit.
So we went, and he was very understanding.
Just asked me how much I remembered from the past couple days,
stuff he said,
and stuff I'd apparently heard.
We were both very scared.
Ha ha ha.
I got to the emergency.
Very slowly.
I live in a smallish town, but we have a giant hospital for some reason.
We're close to a lot of other towns and they use our hospital.
Close to Toronto too.
Anyway, it was slow.
Just one father and a sick kid.
I went in and basically had to explain what was happening.
And honestly, the nurses were like,
what the fuck?
This bitch is crazy.
But when I saw a doctor,
He took me very, very seriously.
It was very nice.
He wrote down basically everything I said.
I got some x-rays and they asked me questions.
You know the whole spiel.
Anyway, the point of this update was to tell you guys that I have a tumor.
That's really scary right now.
But I have a tumor in my brain.
It hasn't sunken in yet that tomorrow my brain is going to be under the knife.
I don't want to share more because I've gotten a lot of messages from people
who are like guessing my name and where I'm from.
Apparently I remind people of their friends or crazy exes.
I'm scared to miss work, but my boss was more than understanding.
He sort of looked at me like I was insane when I asked how long I should be out of work.
I don't know.
I need to pay rent.
We'll figure it out.
Thank you all for your love and support.
I will update whenever I remember two.
I am scared, but alive.
And wow, what a scary update for the OP to give us.
And sadly, we did.
didn't hear back from the OP for a long, long time.
People thought the worst happened, but guess what?
She updated 10 years later.
Update.
April 18th, 2025.
Am I allowed to make an update here?
I don't use social media much anymore and Reddit looks completely different than the last time I logged in.
My friend sent me this basically immediately after it was posted asking if it was me.
It was so long ago.
I kind of cringe, seeing how I wrote it.
But I'll give myself some flack because I was young and going through a terrible time.
That boyfriend didn't last long.
He bailed when he found out how long my recovery would be and what it entitled.
I moved back in with my family, who are all nurses and caregivers,
so it was really the smoothest recovery I could have had.
I did years of therapy, both physical and mental.
I did eventually end up losing my factory job, but that honestly wasn't their fault.
Admittedly, I know-showed to work a lot and was spiraling for a few years, but I eventually
landed on my feet, found my dream man, lumberjack type, sorry for being a Canadian stereotype,
and his mother had gone through almost the same thing I did when she was younger, so we really
bonded over that. I won't say I'm having a perfect time. Life is life. I'm child free, have a job,
by tolerate, have money to spend on my friends and family, and am generally very happy.
I keep off social media because I already survived a brain tumor.
I'm not looking for more.
And for Americans who are going to ask, yes, it was free.
And wow, what an unexpected update?
I mean, no one was expecting an update from the OP after 10 years, but yeah, pretty recent
post just a few months ago as of the time of recording.
But it's great to hear the OP made it through.
And even though it was a hard recovery and therapy time,
I'm super glad to hear that she's doing all right
and has a great relationship with her family, boyfriend, et cetera.
I mean, that first post was just terrifying.
Her imagining her coworkers and other people just saying things to her
and thinking she was going crazy,
thank God she saw a doctor because, I mean,
some people would just let that keep going.
They're like, I don't want to go to a psychiatric institution
or a mental hospital, but this is a great kind of lesson for everybody watching.
If you are going through something similar, go to a doctor.
It's way better to go to a doctor, get diagnosed, get yourself figured out,
than just let it happen because, who knows, it could be a literal brain tumor.
So if you ever are wondering why you feel weird, might as well go to the doctor.
It won't hurt.
It's way better to be safe than sorry.
Very happy end of the post, but yeah,
Terrible that she had to go through it, but luckily it ended on a good note.
On to the next one.
Ex-boyfriend stalks O.P. to another state.
My 28 female, ex-boyfriend who's 37 male, from years ago, followed me to another state
and came into my work yesterday, originally posted on the 12th of September 2022.
Throwaway account because I'm paranoid of him being able to track this down somehow.
name slash locations are changed. Sorry for the novel length post. Feel free to skip the background.
Background. So Andrew was my first real boyfriend. I was with him from 2015 to 2016. When we got
together, I was 21 and he was 30, which I realized now is a huge red flag, but at the time, I didn't know
any better and didn't have anyone in my life to go to for advice or support. The whole relationship was a
real trash fire. He was very controlling and treated me like shit and I always just thought it was
my fault for not being a better girlfriend. Eventually, I found out that he was cheating on me for pretty
much the whole time we were together. I confronted him about it and demanded that he stopped
sleeping around with other girls. He told me that I was a stupid, immature child for expecting our
relationship to be monogamous because men aren't built like that. I'll never forget that exact quote
and said that I had no right to tell him what to do.
In the middle of arguing with him about it,
he said he was done with me and just blocked me on everything.
Getting dumped this way really messed me up,
especially because at this point in my life,
he was pretty much the only person that I even talked to,
even though he was the one that cheated.
I thought the relationship ending was my fault for being too clingy
and not mature enough to understand adult relationships.
And then the worst part was,
that for the next six months or so,
he would get random girls he was with
to send me photos and videos of them in bed together.
Or I assume he was getting them to do it
because it looked like the messages were coming from their numbers.
Maybe he was using random accounts, I don't know.
Obviously, this really upset me.
It made it harder for me to move on.
I know how stupid it sounds because
he was obviously such a douchebag,
but it took me a long time to get over him.
Honestly, the reason that to this day,
I haven't had any other serious relationships
is because my experience with Andrew
really turned me off from dating anybody.
But anyway, all that stopped eventually
and a couple of years later,
I moved to a completely new state.
I don't really stay in contact with anybody
that I knew during that part of my life,
so I haven't heard from Andrew
or heard anything about what he's been up to
since maybe 2018.
Current situation.
Yesterday, I was at work
when my boss came in the back of the shop
and told me that a client was asking for me.
I don't want to say exactly what I do,
but it's a creative industry where artists have their portfolios online,
so it's typical for someone to come into the shop
and ask for a specific artist.
So I go out to the front and see that the client is Andrew.
I was shocked and for some reason, embarrassed that he was there to see me.
I don't know why, but I just defaulted into customer service mode
and asked what I could help him with.
Andrew said that he missed me and wanted to talk to me,
so he looked me up and saw that I was in Colorado,
so he came to see me.
Like he seriously said that he came all the way from Arizona to Colorado
just because he saw on the internet that I worked at the shop now.
So I ignored that and told him that I could help him with professional services,
but otherwise I'd have to ask him to leave.
Andrew kept asking,
Didn't I miss him?
And do I have a new boyfriend now?
I just kept asking him questions
from our new client checklist
and pretending like I didn't hear anything
else he was saying.
After a couple of minutes,
my boss came back out and asked
if everything was okay.
I explained to him that this is my ex-boyfriend
and that he seems to be here
for personal reasons only.
So my boss told him
that if that's the case,
to please leave
and furthermore not to come back.
Andrew seriously looked like,
like he was going to cry, which was very unsettling to me because I've never seen him be emotional
like that, but he left without arguing. My boss went outside and watched him leave to make sure he didn't
hang around outside. He came back in and asked me if I wanted him to call the police, which I said
I didn't think was necessary. He said okay, but that if I changed my mind to let him know because
he'd back me up and say that Andrew had been trespassing and harassing his employees. He also had
someone walk out with me at the end of my shift, but we didn't see Andrew around anywhere.
I was supposed to work today, but my boss told me not to come in. He's giving me a paid day off
because he wants to watch and see if Andrew comes around again looking for me. So now I'm thinking
about it today and trying to decide if this is worth going to the police. I don't know what to do,
and I'm not sure if I should get scared. I looked up our local laws about stalking,
and I don't think it's illegal to come in to someone's job one time,
and leave after your ass to, so I don't think they'd care.
But it might also be good to have it on the record that he did come in just in case he does
anything else.
I also don't understand what the fuck you even want.
He's the one who broke up with me and it's been almost seven years.
And then that was the end of that post.
And then the OP gave us an update on October 15th, 2022.
About a month ago, I posted it about my ex-boyfriend showing up.
at my job unexpectedly. I don't think I'm allowed to link, but it's in my post history. Everyone told me
I should report it to the police just in case he showed up again, but I decided not to because I really
didn't think he was going to. This turned out to be a big mistake, and that's why I wanted to update you all
on what happened afterwards. A week after he came into my job, I also saw my ex hanging around in the
parking lot outside of my apartment building. He didn't try to talk to me or anything.
but I saw him sitting in his car when I went inside.
So then I called the police and told them that my ex-boyfriend was outside my apartment
and that he had also showed up at my place of employment a week earlier
and that he was abusive and I was scared of him.
A cop car came and when it showed up my ex immediately tried to run away.
Like he got out of the car and tried to run away down the street.
So the cop stopped him and put him in handcuffs and searched his car.
They found zip ties in a crowbar that he admitted he was planning to use to come after me.
Wow, that is terrifying.
So right now he's in jail and hopefully he'll stay there.
I also have a restraining order against him.
Apparently, that triggers automatically when someone is arrested for a violent crime against you.
But anyway, I wanted to share this so that other women won't make the mistake I made.
If someone makes you even the slightest bit uncomfortable, go to the police.
I am lucky that I just happened to see my ex before he had a chance to do anything to me.
It's still unclear to me whether he came to my state with the intent of coming after me
or if that was what he decided to do because he didn't like how I acted when he came into my job.
But either way, I should have gone to the police in the first place.
And then someone comments, may I suggest you?
you move, please? And then the O.P. responds saying, I'll probably have to. It's okay for now
because he's in jail, but if slash when he gets out, I don't think I'll feel safe enough,
knowing that he knows where I am. And then another commenter said, was he following you home
after work? And that's how he knows where your apartment is? This is terrified to think he might
have been watching you for a while. I am so sorry you're going through this, and I'm so glad the
police helped you, sending all my good vibes that it gets put away. And then the O.P. Respond's saying,
that's what I think must have happened. Yes. And then the final question we're going to get into
is, do you know how he found your address or where you worked? It would be best to figure that out
and plug that hole before making your next move. And then the OP responds saying, I know that he found
out where I worked because of my professional portfolio online. And then I believe that he figured
out where I live by following me home from work. How scary is that? Such a scary post and it's
terrifying that the police found zip ties and a crowbar inside of his car. I mean, how damning of
evidence is that? And it's even crazier that he said he was going to go after her. It's not even
like, oh, well, I was just hanging out here.
He literally said he was going to go after O.P.
Such a scary story.
And for all the girl watchers out there or all the girl viewers out there, be careful with
who you trust and, you know, bad vibe and boy watchers for all that matters.
Boy and girl, if your ex or whatever is being crazy, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Call the police.
And we've had that kind of lesson throughout this video.
If you feel the need to go to a doctor, go to the doctor.
If you think something is weird, call the police.
But that would be the last Reddit thread we are getting into today.
And I really enjoyed this video.
I thought the cases in today's video were insane, scary, unsettling, and really, really entertaining.
And this video was long, much longer than I expected.
Yeah, two hours long about.
