R-A-Threads.
I was R-worded, and I think my brother knows who did it.
I typed this out on my notes app last night, so sorry if it doesn't make much sense.
I'm just copy-pasting so I can get it out.
Me and my brother have always been really close.
I'm 18, and he's 23.
But even with the age gap, it's always been us.
We'd never get called separately.
it always be called
Go get the boys or the boys want to do this
or they want to do that
they, they, they
we were always together
even when I was a baby
he's my best friend
and I die for him
I say that so you don't think I just hate him
or I'm saying this just to say it
but on Saturday
he invited me to hang out with a couple of his friends
my 18th was Friday
and he's always wanted to be the one to take me to my first bar.
We went out at around 7 p.m.
And right when we got there, they crowded me into a booth and we started drinking.
I don't remember how much I had and I don't remember when we left,
but I know about 30 minutes in, things started to feel off.
I was only on my first pint.
But it felt like I'd had so much more,
and I have drank before, of course I have.
So I know how I should be responding by now,
and I was definitely more pissed than I'd usually be.
We left sometime after,
and I know I was brought back home somehow.
I can remember being helped up the porch steps.
I don't remember anything else until I woke up the next day,
and it felt like I'd been hit by a bus,
spent the entire morning over the toilet,
and it was almost impossible to walk it hurt so badly.
It wasn't until evening when I could leave my room.
I asked my brother, what had happened last night?
And he said we'd been at the pub, then went home.
I pressed him for more, and he got snippy,
saying I shouldn't have gotten so plastered if I wanted every detail.
I told him I couldn't remember anything,
and he said it was my fault and not his problem.
I don't know why he was so agitated.
We usually go on stellar with each other, but he left soon after and didn't talk to me for the rest of the day.
On Tuesday, I realized I had bruises.
I was showering, and they either hadn't formed last time slash I didn't notice them,
but this time, the first time I'd seen them.
They are on my wrists, hips, and the side of my neck.
And I wouldn't have jumped to the conclusion I'd slept with someone that night if there weren't hickies.
They are on my thighs and around my stomach.
There is no doubt what they are.
Naturally, I freaked out.
I thought about telling my mom.
But she didn't want me to go out with my brother that night in the first place,
so I didn't want her to get upset with me.
I went to my brother instead.
I told him about the bruises, and he was going to.
to kick me out of his room again. I told him about the hickies and he immediately changed his mind.
He seemed like he was hiding something. He got nervous and asked to see. I showed him the ones I could
and he agreed after some hesitancy on what they were. I asked him what happened Saturday night again
and he blew up. He yelled to stop asking about that night, said this had nothing to do with the pub
and I'd probably gone out and done it to myself after he got me home.
He told me not to tell mom about the bruises.
Stop treating him like he knew something, which I didn't think I was doing,
and to get this out of its room, so I left.
And I told my mom.
She didn't have much of a reaction.
She didn't even seem surprised.
She told me she was going to take my brother out on the drive and to stay home.
They'd be back soon.
They stayed out so late I fell asleep.
I only saw my mom again this morning.
She woke me up and told me she loved me.
She would never let anyone hurt me, and she was sorry.
I still don't know what she was apologizing for.
I went to school, things were normal, but I haven't seen my brother all day.
I don't know if I got him in trouble, but he's obviously avoiding me.
I've been up all night thinking about this.
I guess I just needed to tell someone.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says,
you need to sit your family down and ask what happened.
Either that or go to the police and tell them your drink was spiked and show them the bruises.
This all seems so fishy and weird.
If you were R-Wordid, which I truly believe,
or be in your brother that you state are so close with,
should have done something or at least told you.
And the O.P responds and says,
I tried to talk to my mom this morning about what she said to my brother,
but she completely ignored those questions and rushed to work.
My brother's still completely avoiding me too.
And the commenter responds to the O.P.
Here and says, go to the police love.
If your own family won't help you, then they will.
What they are doing, keeping you out of it is so wrong.
And the O.P responds and says,
I really don't know if they could do anything to help either.
I just need to find a way to get the information from my family.
And someone else says,
I really hate to say it,
but don't cross your brother off as a suspect just because he's your brother.
I've seen my sister do a lot of stupid stuff while drunk,
but if she ever had this happen to her,
I'd let her know who it was,
and I'd take care of it for her.
The way he's shy and away suspicious.
I can't lie.
Unless he values the person who did it,
more than you, then I don't know what's up.
And I doubt that anyone means more than his little sister.
Well, with the exception of himself, maybe.
But if it is him, I'm genuinely sorry.
Whoever did it should know better.
I recommend snooping around your brother's phone if you get the chance.
Though I doubt it'll be easy.
Not that any of this is.
Once again,
Sorry to hear this.
Pisses me off that people do this.
And then the O.P. comes back the next day with an update, and it reads as follows.
I guess a follow up to my last post.
I don't know.
It doesn't matter.
Saturday night, I got R-worded after going to a pub.
I couldn't remember what happened, and my brother would not tell me.
I sat my mom and brother down this morning and told them that I know
they know something I don't.
I wanted to know what happened that night.
My mom started crying.
She never cries.
She yelled that my brother had to tell me
before storming off to her room
and slamming the door.
I immediately asked my brother
what she meant.
And he got very nervous and accusatory.
He said that this was all my fault
and mom's upset because I had effed up that night
and I should be thankful because my brother picked up the pieces
like he always does
my family never acts like this
definitely not my brother
I was so confused and I pressed him further
then he started to tell me what happened
he said that my drink was spiked
and I went to the toilets to puke
I was there for a while
and when he went to find me he said that
in way more vulgar terms, there was a guy in there trying to have his way with me.
He said he took me home and that was that.
I told him I didn't believe him.
Only he and his friends ever had access to my drinks.
And there's no way that what happened to me could have been done in a pub toilet.
The evidence doesn't match that.
I started to cry and I told him I just,
wanted the truth. He said that he told me the truth, and I could either take it or leave it.
And I'm not happy with myself for this, but I told him I hated him. He was supposed to be my
best friend, and he was lying about something like this for no reason. I'm definitely not happy
with myself for this either, but I asked him if he was lying because it was one of his friends.
He called me crazy and said I didn't know what I was talking about.
So I asked him if he did anything.
I wanted to throw up just saying those words.
That made him start to proper scream.
He said I was an idiot.
How dare I accuse him of that?
And said he'd kick my effing teeth in
if I ever even suggested something like that again.
He said,
I wanted to sleep with him that bad, I can just say that.
I couldn't handle him saying that, so I left.
I went to my room and locked the door.
A few hours on, and I got a text from an unknown number.
It said it was one of my brother's friends.
He knew about the fight,
and he wanted to come clean with what he knew,
so I needed to call him.
I did.
And I really wish I hadn't.
He started by saying he had no idea what had happened until my brother told him this morning,
or else he would have told me sooner.
My drink had been spiked by my brother.
Apparently, his friends just thought I was a lightweight,
so they weren't concerned when I seemed to be getting drunker faster than them.
We all got a taxi home.
and the rest of what he knows, if just what my brother told him.
I'm just going to copy and paste the text because I don't think I could rewrite what he said
without vomiting.
In the text reads, quote,
So yeah, we had you guys dropped off first and went home.
Paul said he could take care of you himself,
so we didn't really think we had to stick around,
but in hindsight I really wish we had.
I asked him if you're feeling all right Sunday,
and he said, yeah, everything's cool, you were just a little hungover.
But yeah, he messaged me after you guys had your argument and told me what really happened.
And are you sure you want to know?
Paul said he had intimacy with you, and he claimed to be bloody plastered, but he seemed
the most clear-headed out of all of us that night.
He said, you didn't care what was happening, so he thought it was all right, but that just
seems sick in my mind.
I'm sorry no one told you sooner.
I don't think Shane knows what happened, but Paul should have told you.
I don't know if that's normal for you guys, but either way, it just seemed wrong because
you were obviously drunk.
Like losing consciousness from time to time.
He said he gave you something else when you guys got home, but he didn't tell me and I didn't ask.
I haven't been able to do anything but just stare at the screen.
I haven't left my room.
I've been sick three times already.
Whenever I hear my brother going down the hall,
I just feel so much dread.
I don't know what to do.
I don't know how he could have done this to me.
I'm his brother.
We were supposed to be best friends.
I trusted him, and I still do,
but I just don't know anymore.
I'm so torn between what to feel about him.
He's my family, and I'm,
I hate what he's done.
I don't think I could ever forgive him.
I haven't been able to leave.
I don't know if I should tell my mom because I think she knows already.
I'm at such a loss.
My family loves each other.
We've always been insanely close.
I just don't know what to do.
On one hand, I really do want to believe he was just drunk and didn't know what he was doing,
but I just don't know.
Edit, I'm not going to be able to reply to all of your comments.
to the people offering advice, thanks.
There were a lot of people being complete A-holes too,
which honestly I can't find the energy to care about right now.
I'm going to talk to my brother tomorrow,
show him the text from his friend,
and see if he'll just admit it.
I'm going to the hospital soon too,
just in case there's anything that can still be done in that regard.
People said to tell his girlfriend.
I'll figure out a way to reach her.
I don't think he really loves her anyways.
If anyone wants any other updates, I will give them, but if not, this is where the story's ending for now.
It's late. I'm tired. I regret ever posting here.
And now let's get into some of the top comments. One user says, as a victim of family R-word myself,
please go to the police and file a report. Go to the ER and have a R-word kit done.
Bring any clothes you wore that night as well.
When it happened to me, it was the late 70s slash early 80s, and not one person in authority gave a care.
I went to the police, school counselor, everyone.
They said I was lying for attention, etc.
They did nothing.
And so he got away with it.
He essayed me for eight years, and I have had to just live with the lack of justice.
and it makes me so goddamn angry.
I'm now 52 and have been in therapy for 35 years.
Depression, anxiety, panic disorder, sleeping disorder, etc.
My life was destroyed by it despite my best efforts to get out and move on.
He's now dead, but I still live with the consequences.
Please follow up with the authorities and counseling for yourself.
and big internet hugs to you.
You are not alone in your experiences.
And another user says,
Jesus Christ, I'm so sorry, O.P.
Get police involved and if you're a minor,
get CPS involved as well.
He threatened you with violence,
and I want you to be safe.
Take care, O.P.
And another user says,
the way your mom reacted was highly suspicious.
You should find out if she knows so you have a real idea of who will protect you in this world and who will enable a R word.
If she knows that she's continuing to put you into danger by having him under the same roof,
you really need to get out of there or get him out.
It's not safe.
You can never trust him again, not with your safety or the safety of any future kids.
That's a choice he made when he R-worded you, not something you should feel bad about.
I'm sorry this has happened.
And the OPE, he responds and says, I think she's just emotional about this.
I would be too.
I'm certain she knows what my brother did, but this must be world crushing for her, since this is her son we are talking about.
I'm broke, so unless I crash on the streets, I don't think I can leave just yet.
I doubt anything like this will have it again, so I just have to wait it out.
My brother's supposed to fly out to his girlfriend's house after Christmas to do a trial run of living together or something like that.
I don't exactly know the details.
But I know he'll be gone for a while, and that'll be good.
He might choose to stay there permanently, so hopefully that can pan out nice.
Sorry, I'm probably rambling.
And then the O.P. comes back a few days later with another update,
titled, I'm in the middle of packing a bag. I hate my mom. I hate my brother. So I'm leaving home.
That's really it. All I've got is a double bag and that's just fine for me. It is right.
I woke up this afternoon with a splitting effing headache. Miss school. That's all the good it did.
I think last night was the last draw, really, got massively drunk, but I can remember it relatively well.
brother came in around eight
hugged me
said he loved me
he was sorry for hurting me
he never meant to
I was the only one
always have been
crashed out hard after that
really
cannot believe this man had the audacity
really
anyways the A-hole comes in
about an hour or so after I woke up
he gives me a pop and a candy bar
and says he hopes we can get back to normal
then this M-Fer
you never know
D-head before I can even swallow my effing water right kisses me. I spit the water all over him,
what he deserves. I tell him to get out of my room. His treats ain't worth anything to me,
and I never want to see him again. I told him if he ever tries anything toward me again,
I'd be blabbing to the police. So he tells me, five bloody eight and six eight effing KG me,
he says no one would believe me anyways,
seeing as I'm adult now,
and I'd have the power to leave if I hadn't wanted it,
and he's six foot even,
probably around 89Ks,
and he's seriously telling me I could have left.
He got dad's genetics, laughed my ass off.
Anyways, now I'm here packing.
There ain't no way, everything's fitting into this bag,
but it's all I've got.
I've written a letter to my mom about it,
told her I'm leaving, not to come looking for me.
I loved her, but I don't think I could ever face her again.
I'm going to leave it in her room when I leave.
I've got my brother's girlfriend's number.
I'll be giving her a ring when I'm out.
Sorry if this is jumbled.
I don't bloody care anymore.
I'm leaving.
And just by the way, I don't know if any of you guys are looking at the text,
but this text is so much more jumbled up and all over the place with the typing and everything.
And so obviously that is extremely concerning.
But now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says,
Kissed you on the lips.
TF, you text British,
but this is giving me Alabama vibes.
All jokes aside, leave their asses.
They don't deserve you.
And you don't deserve that treatment.
And the OP responds and says,
appreciate a good joke in these trying times.
Oh, it helps.
And then the user says, I'm so sorry.
and the OP says,
nah, man, seriously, I can give a good chuckle.
And someone else says,
I'm so sorry, take care of yourself.
You didn't deserve any of this.
And the OP says, thank you.
I will.
And another user says,
I'm sorry to hear that, bud.
That's genuinely effed.
I don't care about going into my family history,
but I totally get the need to get out of there
for the sake of your mental and emotional health.
Stay strong, man.
I know that kind of decision isn't,
made lightly, and I would never tell you to stay since I completely get the emotions and need
to get out of there. Just stay safe, man, get as much help as needed. Friends, other family, social
work, whatever it takes. I hope you'll put all that stuff behind you. Some people genuinely can't put
themselves in the shoes of people that are estranged from family, but it rarely happens without good
effing reason. All the best, man, hope you'll be okay. You are a warrior having the boss to know what
you need to do in following through. Take care. And we have never heard from the OP ever again.
And before we move on to the next one, I want to quickly let you guys know about my Patreon,

It helps out the channel and you get some phenomenal content.
The link is in the first link in the description and the pinned comment.
But anyways, now on to the next one.
I think someone is playing with me.
This is going to sound a little crazy, but I need some advice anyway.
Just want to start by saying that I've never had any problems with paranoia, delusions, or psychosis,
and I don't believe in ghosts or anything like that.
I'm also 35 years old now, so it's unlikely that those type of mental issues would arise at such a late age.
That being said, I feel like I'm going to go.
crazy. I'm pretty sure someone moves small things in my apartment when I'm not home. I live alone
and no one, as far as I know, has a key to my apartment. I have two keys and both are in my possession.
I have checked several times. I have tried putting glasses and plates on the table as a test
before I go to work and I've taken pictures of them to compare with the pictures when I get home. So far,
I have not been successful in proving anything.
The most obvious things that I have noticed that have moved are a plate I had breakfast on that day,
maybe 30 centimeters from where I put it.
Candles have moved from the center of the coffee table to the edge of the table,
and a shampoo bottle has moved from one shelf to another that I never use to store shampoo on.
There are several other things I have noticed, but they are very small things that maybe slash maybe not could be me now that I'm so aware of where everything is.
My ex-boyfriend had the key to my apartment for many years, but before we broke up two years ago, we didn't fall out and he has a new girlfriend now, so I'm 99% sure it's not him.
He also works in Copenhagen now several days a week while I live in Jutland.
I have asked him on days when things have moved where he was, and he has been in Copenhagen all those days.
He shared his location on Messenger, so that was enough.
What would you do?
I have no evidence of anything in principle.
I could have been sleepwalking or something and just not noticed the changes until I got back home from work.
I occasionally sleepwalked as a child, but as far as I know, it hasn't happened in maybe 25 years.
It's starting to get pretty creepy.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says there is a well-known Reddit thread that sounds very similar to what you describe.
It turned out that the person had severe carbon monoxide poisoning that created paranoia and delusions.
I would strongly advise you to see if you can find somewhere else to sleep for the next few nights and then by detector.
They are available at Bauhaus and the like.
Maybe it's not.
Maybe you're just forgetful.
But if it is carbon monoxide, you are messing with your life.
And the OP responds and says,
Thanks.
I just Googled it.
I'm staying with my parents tonight and then I'll buy a carbon monoxide detector tomorrow just in case.
And someone responds and says,
If that doesn't work, then you can buy a wildlife camera and set it up.
It takes pictures when there is.
is movement so you can see if you are doing it in your sleep or what.
And then the OPE comes back about two and a half weeks later with an update and it reads as
follows.
Hi again, everyone.
A lot has happened since I wrote the last post.
I figured out what's up with the situation.
I bought two cameras and set one up in the living room slash kitchen and one in the entrance
tall. It turns out my apartment actually has three keys and not two, as I thought. My neighbor,
also 35 years old, apparently looked after the previous tenant's cats occasionally and had a
key to their apartment. She didn't return it after they moved out of what is now my apartment.
We were pretty good friends to start with when I moved in, but she became more and more clinging.
to the extent that she would call up to 15 times a day and talk for over four hours in total per day.
I couldn't even leave the apartment without her wanting to know where I was going,
and she would get angry if I didn't respond immediately to her messages.
If I was asleep or busy, there was so much drama surrounding her that I couldn't take it anymore,
and chose to completely cut off contact.
She has respected that for the most part, I thought.
It turns out that she has led herself into my apartment and gone through my cupboards and drawers,
and apparently deliberately moved my things around to make me paranoid.
She can hear when I go in and out of my apartment, because her entrance is only five meters from mine.
That's why she always knew when I wasn't home, even though I work shifting hours.
I confronted her and said that I would call the police.
She panicked and contacted her father, who came over to me.
He is a doctor and said that she has borderline personality disorder and refuses treatment because she doesn't think she's wrong.
He said she's impulsive, outwardly reacting and often feeling a strong urge to revenge herself on people who she feels have treated her unfairly or let her down.
This has apparently been a theme throughout her life with almost all of her relationships, romantic, and friendships.
He practically begged me not to call the police and said that he would do everything he can to prevent anything similar from happening again.
I got him to pay for a locksmith to change the lock and I said that I would report her to the housing association who would then report it to the police.
if she didn't voluntarily move out of the apartment as soon as possible,
because I don't want her as a neighbor anymore.
They both accepted that,
and she has now chosen to move back to her parents at the end of February.
So the ending was relatively good for me,
albeit very chaotic.
And just, oh my God.
I mean, to be honest, like this turned out to be, you know, relatively positive,
but this could have been so,
so much worse. Like this lady was going into the OPE's apartment every single day and deliberately
moving things around in her apartment to make her feel like she is going crazy. That is terrifying.
But now let's get into some of the top comments. One user says, holy shit. The fact that there was
actually someone rifling through OPE's apartment for real is just so, so creepy.
and someone responds and says
and it could have been way worse
than just moving stuff around too
like all of their important
documents getting stolen
and yeah I agree
this could have been so much worse
valuables
important documents could have been stolen
or who knows if this lady
you know wanted some sort of
other revenge
a physical revenge
and what I mean by physical
is you know hide inside
her closet
and if the OP walks in
attack the OP or you know who knows like this is terrifying and also I think it's very strange
how casual uh the op is about this you know what I mean like the OP is like yeah so the ending was
relatively good for me although it was a little chaotic it's like if I found out my neighbor
was going through my apartment every single day while I was gone at work and moving things slightly
Like I would be
Beyond freaked out
You know what I mean?
Like I feel like the OPE is being so chill
And so understanding
Where personally I wouldn't be
Like this is downright terrifying
Wife Drugs Teenage Son
So I'm going to try to keep this brief
But provide as much context as possible
There is a lot to say
So please bear with me
My son as mid-teens
didn't want to include his age just for anonymity.
Anyways, another thing to preface this, my wife and I are in the process of separating,
so I'll still refer to her as my wife, but I'm currently dating someone who I will refer to as my girlfriend.
Basically, about five years ago, my wife cheated on me and I was no longer in love with her,
but I wanted to let my kids have at least a somewhat normal life, so we agreed to state
together for their sake. We haven't slept in the same bed in three years, and we have not had intimacy
for almost a year. Everything I do is for my kids, and I love them with so my heart and soul.
My wife dates her boyfriend who is the same person she cheated on me with. We have the kids
visitation all figured out for the most part. They stay with me during the week because I still live
in their school district, and they see their mom on the weekends.
There's no animosity between their mother and I, or at least not before this.
My daughter isn't fond of her mother because she knows she's cheated on me.
So a lot of the time, she just stays with me and lets her brother go and visit.
For about three months now, I've noticed that my son is always really tired and lethargic,
when he comes home from his mom's house, which I thought at first was maybe just some
emotional flack, and he assured me it wasn't and that he was fine.
My girlfriend started trying to help him eat better and other stuff to help improve his
mental because we thought maybe the separation was stressing him out.
So I tried getting him into therapy, and he expressed nothing was wrong again and again.
His younger sister always seems to be able to tell me what they did and how it was, but when I ask him,
he just kind of tells me, yeah, it was fine.
Or he would say, I don't remember.
I thought, okay, this is just normal teenager stuff.
He doesn't want to talk to his dad, but my girlfriend insisted it was something more.
She said maybe he was on drugs.
I know my son, and I told her, absolutely not.
Guess I was wrong.
This past weekend, they got back from their moms, and as usual,
he was tired and sleepy and he went straight into his bedroom.
A few minutes later, my daughter came up to me and told me she had seen something bad and she didn't know if she was supposed to say it.
She said she saw my wife crush up pills and put them in a drink that she then gave to my son.
I initially dismissed this and told her that's ridiculous and warned her not to make up lies,
but I've never known her as a liar or joker.
She got really serious and said,
See, I didn't even want to say anything.
I know you wouldn't believe me.
Then I asked her exactly what happened and she told me.
I'm just so confused she told me this
isn't the first time she saw my wife do this,
but the first time she told her it was because my son was sick,
so she never mentioned it again.
I started piecing two.
and do together and realized she was telling the honest truth, but that made me even more confused.
What is my wife giving him pills for? My son isn't like an energetic kid or hard to deal with or
anything like that. He's a well-behaved, well-mannered, quiet boy. On top of that, I wanted to know
what kind of pills, and I started getting really angry. I drove almost an hour away to her house to
confront her. She called me crazy and denied any wrongdoing. The trip was useless. I got back and I
asked my son when he woke up about it. He said he never really remembered going to his mom's house,
but he thought he was crazy or just had a bad memory. He says his mother used to just give him pills,
but eventually just stopped, but he always noticed he would get drowsy even after she stopped giving him
the pills. He just cried and hugged me and said, make her stop. I'm really, really upset about this,
and I don't know what to do. Is there anything legal I can do about this? I feel like this is way
too weird and too far. What purpose do you guys think she could have for drugging an innocent
teenager, moreover, her son? I feel like I have failed him as a dad for not really. I'm not really,
realizing earlier, something was really wrong.
What can I do about this situation on all fronts?
I want to get to the bottom of this because I obviously don't have the full story,
but he doesn't really know and my wife is denying it.
My girlfriend says that we should absolutely get the police involved,
but I don't know if I want to do that to the kids.
Any advice?
And now let's get into some of the kids.
the top comments. One user says, sounds like she's crushing pills and putting it into his drink.
That is some scummy activity. I would get him drug tested and find out exactly what she's drugging
him with. This is inexcusable. I wouldn't allow my children around her anymore.
F that. And the OPEE responds and says, yeah, they're not going back over there until I can get to the bottom of this.
I'm just really scared and I feel like crap for only now just realizing all of this.
The pieces were right in front of me and I failed my son.
And another user says she has been illegally dosing your kid.
Question is, why?
Is your youngest safe?
What about your son?
If you can't remember anything, I'm terrified to think what they may have done.
Call the cops.
call CPS because you will be in trouble if this gets out and you didn't report it.
And the O.P. responds and says,
My daughter is a warrior, ha ha.
I know it sounds stupid to say, but that girl can handle herself.
She's outspoken, smart, and just all around mature.
I know for a fact if something was bothering her, she would tell me.
The same way she told me about what she saw.
Yeah, that's my main concern is why.
Why would she be giving him drugs?
Whatever she's giving him, there's no excuse, right?
It's tough because he says he doesn't remember,
and I just feel like she won't come clean.
Maybe police pressure really is the only way.
I just don't want to stress him out with an investigation or questioning and stuff.
You know, I feel like he's been through enough, and as his dad,
I haven't done anything to help him, so I just feel really awful.
And another user says,
You can go to the police.
It's a serious allegation
and will need to be investigated
but will involve them speaking to your son.
Alternatively, stop contact.
Go and see a lawyer
and explain the reasons.
It's abuse.
A very insidious kind.
You might want to go and get your son's bloods
taken by a doctor
to check the type of drug in the levels
that may trigger police
intervention in itself, of course, but it's a risk that prioritizes your child's health and
well-being. If it is confirmed to be true, then she will be dealt with accordingly. And the OP
responds and says, yeah, I want to go take him to get some blood work. I just don't want to scare him
or stress him out about this stuff. I don't want the pressure of an investigation distracting him and
stuff. It's a really tough situation for me. And someone responds and says, I think you need to
need to know what's going on medically, for his own safety.
I get that it'll stress him out, but hopefully it can be done sensitively with his well-being
in mind.
It could provide answers that may avert a battle with your ex or provide the basis for you
having full custody.
And the O.P responds and says, yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
I sort of want a blindsided with everything like maybe get blood work silently.
If it seems nefarious, I would go to the police and have them form a case against her.
and just do it all at once to avoid a sort of build-up and long, stressful period for my boy.
And then the OP comes back a few days later with an update, and it reads as follows.
Hey everyone, a lot of people are still messaging me about the situation,
and I figured I should probably update anyone else who might be concerned
because I haven't really responded to messages.
First of all, thank you, everyone, for your support.
in assuring me that it wasn't my fault, and the kind words and advice during a confusing time in general.
So to lead, I'll say my son is fine, and he's doing well at home with my daughter, girlfriend, and myself.
After everything happened, I let him take a week off from school, and he went back last week.
The day all of this unfolded, I took my son to UC to get his blood work done.
They did that, a urinal.
in a mouth swab.
The urinalysis yielded signs of a non-soluble pill,
which she said was most likely a pill that I can't name,
or another pill.
But to see exactly what we would have to wait for the blood test results.
As soon as I really got a chance to collect my thoughts,
I realized I had made a huge mistake by going and confronting my wife about this
because now she knew that I knew.
I know she's prescribed pills,
so I had my link in a strong case.
A user on here actually forward me some information on resources
as far as a lawyer and some other after crisis stuff for my son
in my area, which I very much appreciate.
Since that first week, I have met with multiple lawyers,
and I'm working with my divorce lawyer to finally finalize our separation,
I'm extremely disgusted with her, and I'm still in shock.
As far as the big question of why I was finally able to get my son to open up a bit,
he told me that when my wife first moved out of the house about a year or so ago,
he immediately butted heads with her boyfriend.
They just didn't get along, and he feels like he treated him unfairly.
My wife just let this happen, apparently.
My son says that on multiple occasions, he hurt him.
He never specified what exactly happened, but that's how he worded it.
And my son is only 13, so for him to even be saying something like that,
you know that's just very concerning.
He says he didn't tell me because he, quote,
didn't want me to be disappointed in him.
Confusing because I don't yell at my kids or even really ever get mad.
or upset, and I'm always encouraging to them.
Again, he was very vague in describing what hurt meant, and I didn't want to pry as he obviously
was very uncomfortable.
My heart hurts so bad for my son, and I just feel so stupid because I feel like I should
have known this all.
He's such a sweet boy.
He doesn't deserve any of this.
I found this out towards the end of last week.
It has taken everything in me
Not to go beat this dude up, but I really want to
I haven't spoken to either my wife or him
Since last week
When I let her know that I know it's been going on
And that basically legal matters would follow
She has called me a few times
But I just can't talk to her
I'm just so beat down by this crap
I chose to start a family
With this evil person
And I just feel like I can't help
But feel like she's a complete
stranger. I've told my parents and her parents what happened and they are very apologetic
and have been working to try and get information from her, but she hasn't been helpful to them either.
I don't want to make excuses for her, but I can't help but feel like it's just all somehow
connected to him. I'm sure more will unravel from the situation, but for now, this pretty
much covers everything that's happened since then. As far as the legal stuff everyone's just told me,
these things take some time, especially when there's kids involved.
My son's doing fine, and he will be doing some therapy and stuff in the near future,
waiting for his time to free up more with school.
The rest of the family is great.
Thanks for all of your well wishes, support, and advice guys.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says,
Okay, so not to sound ultra paranoid.
And this might sound crazy, but between the drugging and your daughter saying no one believes her,
I would definitely see if you can find someone who has experience in SA.
A friend many years ago went through the same thing and thought she even had cancer at one point.
Turns out her mom was drugging her at night, so mom's boyfriend could play with her.
I 100% hope that isn't the case, but do not let your kids around these people until you get to the bottom of it.
And the O.P. responds and says, yeah, my heart sinks just thinking about it.
My mind has wandered there, but I genuinely can't imagine my wife doing something that evil.
I could obviously be wrong, and I can't think of any other real reason for her to be drugging him, right?
It's just really effed up.
And someone else says,
I'm begging you to reach out to the caseworker
and mention that your son has talked about being hurt
and feeling like he would be a disappointment for telling you
because that screams S.A.
The caseworker will know what resources to call
to speak with your son and check him over.
The drugging makes him compliant and unable to fight back.
That is absolutely terrifying.
and I really recommend therapy for both of your children.
And another user says,
this is going to be one of the worst things I have ever written out in my entire life.
The fact that your son isn't like in any way hyper or anything or a behavioral problem
and him using the words he's hurt him and your son doesn't want you disappointed in him
and won't give you the details makes me think there might actually be S-A-going-on.
He's being drugged so deeply he doesn't seem to remember half the weekend.
Your wife is already drugging him and denying it.
Who knows how far she's gone for this boyfriend as to what she's drugging him for?
I didn't read your original post.
I just did and now this update.
I hate that I thought this, but it's certainly I'm afraid something you might need to consider.
And someone else says,
it really sounds like she was drugging her child so the boyfriend could abuse him.
This is grim as hell.
And we have never received another update from the O.P., which is just horrifying.
And if I had to bet, I don't know, this is all alleged and just speculation, but if I had to bet,
the police got involved
and from a few previous
Reddit threads I've read in the past
whenever police get involved or the law
get involved they tell you to
stop posting on social media
because that completely complocates
the case if it goes to court
and so most likely in my
opinion the police got involved
and said hey stop posting this
on Reddit and
who knows what happened but this is
just horrifying
I hit my child
I have failed as a father
When my son was younger
He was the sweetest boy
Kind-hearted
Thoughtful
The type of kid who would run up to you with a smile
So pure it could light up a room
I'd promise myself
That he would never experience
The kind of childhood I had
No fear, no abuse
No walking on eggshells
Terrified of the next angry outburst
But things changed over the past few years.
He started acting out, small things like skipping school, lying and sneaking out.
I thought it was just normal teenage rebellion.
I tried to be patient and understanding.
I told myself that kids go through phases and that this was just his way of testing boundaries.
I didn't want to be too harsh.
I didn't want to become the monster I grew up with.
I thought if I showed him love, he'd come back to the boy I knew, the boy I raised.
Yesterday, he came up to me asking me for over $1,000.
He had gotten his girlfriend pregnant and needed money for a termination to have the baby removed.
This was, of course, a huge shock, but I knew that it was my role as a father to be supportive.
I agreed, but I explained to him that a termination didn't cost that much money.
That's when he told me that the money wasn't just for the termination,
it was to convince his girlfriend to get the operation to have the baby removed in the first place.
She refused to terminate the pregnancy due to her religious beliefs,
and my son thought that if I just gave her enough money,
I could somehow change your mind.
I couldn't believe that the son I raised
had turned into someone who thought he could use money
to control someone else's body.
We got into a huge screaming match of an argument,
and he stormed off to his room.
I have been looking after a boy my son's age for nearly a decade.
It's a complicated situation,
but he's a relative who's been living with us
most of the time due to some family issues.
I haven't officially adopted him, but I consider him a second son.
He heard us arguing and can find it in me.
He told me all about what my son was really like at school, how he was known as a bully who
tormented other students, especially kids who were LGBT or mentally disabled or came from
poor families.
The worst part was that he even bullied his own adopted brother.
He taunted him for the trauma he'd experienced in his childhood,
the same trauma that I'd experienced in mine.
I was furious, devastated,
because I was so afraid of becoming my stepfather
that I let my son walk all over me,
over his brother, over everyone.
I confronted him.
I wanted to give him one last chance to show some remorse,
but he didn't.
He just stared at me, defiant, even smug.
No apology, no regret, no understanding of the pain he's caused.
He owned up to everything and doubled down on it, saying he was just having fun.
Then he made an awful remark about my adopted son asking for everything that happened to him.
And in that moment, something inside me broke.
I hit him.
Even writing those words makes me sick.
I hit my son,
and that I hit him again and again and again.
I swore I would never be like my stepfather,
that I would never lay a hand on my children.
But in that moment, I lost control.
I lost everything.
As soon as I struck him,
him, the look in his eyes changed. It was the same look of fear I used to have when I was a child,
when my stepfather's anger turned into violence. I only stopped because I noticed that I had made him
bleed. I snapped out of my rage, but it was too late. He actually effing flinched when I tried to
tend to his injury. My own child is afraid of me. My wife and daughters, son. He
everything and they haven't talked to me since.
How do you make amends for something like this?
How do you forgive yourself when you've done the very thing you swore you would never do?
How do you look your children in the eyes when you've become the person you always feared you would be?
My stepfather used to tell me that.
Once I reached his age, I would see things from his point of view,
and I would understand why he did everything that he did to me.
I did everything I could to make sure I didn't turn into him.
As my son grew up, I thought I'd finally broken the cycle.
When I found out what my son had done, I wondered if maybe I hadn't broken the cycle after all.
Maybe it just skipped a generation.
I had this subconscious belief that maybe if I just hit him hard enough,
I could somehow beat the wrongdoing out of him.
and all this did was turn me into the very thing I hated most in the world.
I can't help but wonder if my stepfather was also in my position once.
Did he also swear not to become his father?
Until I pushed things too far and he had no choice but to put me back on the right path
using the only way of parenting he'd been exposed to,
was he also horrified by his own actions at first?
How many more times did he hit me before he embraced becoming,
the type of man who abused his own child.
I just hope my son will forgive me one day,
but I can never forgive myself.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says,
I will not say it was not wrong what you did,
because it was, and you should search help
for your unresolved trauma
and your rage issue, if it is one.
I am no psychologist, but I think the double blow you took your son trying to buy his girlfriend
and the accusation of him being a bully and a really bad guy brought your childhood trauma back up.
But today, you are an adult and can defend yourself.
Maybe as a kind of PTSD second you should check on both issues.
The pregnancy.
Talk to girlfriend.
If her parents know, stick your heads together on how to help.
But first, talk to the girl.
It is her call to inform her family, not yours.
Support her.
Third, clear up if the accusations are true.
Tell your adoptive son, you believe them, but you have to verify.
Maybe talk to your daughters, too.
There might be more.
I hope not, but search professional help.
And talk to your wife about all of this.
Regarding your son, wow.
Only the handling of the pregnancy.
one NAS
and the OPE responds and says
You're right
I know I need help
I swear I am not a violent man
I won't lie and say
I wasn't furious when I found out about
the termination bribery
But finding out about
the bullying on top of all of that
was the breaking point
Maybe it is a form of PTSD
Or maybe it's just years
of bottled up anger I never
truly dealt with
Whatever it is, I need to confront it.
My adopted son did show me proof in the first place.
He had screenshots of social media posts, text messages, even some photos and videos.
Usually, I would have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and verify things first,
but seeing all this evidence just further cemented the realization of my son going down the wrong path.
You're also right about my son's girlfriend.
I can't imagine what she's feeling.
I can't imagine that my own son would do something like that to her.
I'll make sure to talk to her first instead of going directly to her family,
but I have a lot on my plate for now,
and I don't think I'm ready to deal with this immediately.
What I'm worried about is talking to my ex, the mother of my son.
She hasn't been very active in his life,
but she holds a lot of love for him,
and I hate to think about how she would react,
finding out about what I did to our child.
I'll have to talk to my daughters, too.
reassured them that I would never dream about hitting them.
Although, what are the chances they will believe that?
If I was in their position, I definitely wouldn't.
The youngest is only seven.
How do you explain to a seven-year-old why her daddy beat up her brother until he bled?
You've given me a lot to think about.
I need to talk to my wife.
I need to talk to all my kids.
And I need to seek professional help for all of us.
I'm terrified of what I will uncover, but it's better than letting things keep festering in the dark.
I just hope it's not too late to fix the damage I've done.
And another user says, this is eating you up.
Stop and breathe.
You are not your father, but you took a first step down that path, looked ahead and turned back.
You are back on the right path again.
your father beats you when you were not bullying other children it was about him having power
and control over you you hit your son and you crossed a line you lost in that you lost control
and you became a potential of your father in that moment did your son need a lesson yes did you need
to reach breaking point before he could change his ways who knows but you have a level of
self-awareness that your father never had. You stood up for a girl and her unborn baby and protected
them from a bully who was trying to manipulate them through money that he was lying to get a hold of.
Your not quite adopted son has watched his brother become a horrible person doing horrible things
and saying horrible things. He kept silent. Now he has spoken and you have to try to help both you
and your son to deal with your harmful behaviors.
Seek therapy slash anger management classes.
You will find your way back to peace of mind.
And I can only hope that your son finds the right path to follow.
And then the O.P comes back one year later with an update titled,
I hit my child again.
And he ran away.
My son ran away.
To live with my stepfather.
I can't believe I am writing this.
I had everything under control.
I apologized to my youngest son and I promised to be a better father.
I told him everything about my childhood,
about the fear, the abuse, and the nights I spent hiding in my room
because I was afraid of my stepfather.
I told him how badly I wanted to protect him from all of it
and how ashamed I was that in the end I'd repeated the same pattern.
Against all odds, he forgave me.
I talked to my ex, my son's mother,
and I couldn't be more grateful for her help.
We may not have had the perfect relationship,
but she truly loves that boy,
and her talking to him had a huge part in him forgiving me.
He admitted that he'd been wrong
and needed to apologize to his brother,
to his girlfriend and the kids at school he'd hurt.
And one by one he did.
His girlfriend accepted his apology and decided to stay with him,
and I talked to her parents about raising the baby.
Things went surprisingly well, and they were extremely supportive,
and we agreed to split child care at 50-50 at their home and ours.
When the baby was born, something in all of us changed,
holding my granddaughter for the first time felt like life was giving me another chance
my son stepped up too he wasn't perfect but he was trying we both started going to therapy
we rebuilt trust little by little things were looking up two days ago i heard my sons
arguing about something i don't even remember i tried to diffuse the situation but neither of them
were listening to me then my youngest son started to remember
repeatedly hitting his brother, who just stood there and took the punches while attempting to shield
himself. And the only thing I could think of was the way my stepfather would hit me. And the way I'd
stand there helplessly, cowering in fear, just praying that someone would step up and defend me.
And when I looked at my son, the only face I saw was that of my stepfather. I broke our promise
and hit him again. He froze when I hit him.
I should have stopped there, but I didn't.
And whatever evil within me, that made me lose control the first time, took a hold of me again,
and I couldn't stop hitting him.
He stepped backwards and lost his balance and fell into a side table and crashed face-first into a vase.
He didn't cry the first time I hit him, but this time he was sobbing and begging me not to hurt him.
And the side of him broken and afraid made me want to crawl out.
of my own skin.
I called an ambulance and told him I was prepared to take full responsibility if he were
to report me since I understood full well why he wouldn't feel safe around me anymore.
But when they asked what happened, he lied and said it was an accident.
He lied to protect me even after I hurt him so badly.
Just like I lied to protect my father because I'd stockholm syndrome to myself into thinking
he was the only person who would ever love me.
Yesterday, while I was at work, I received a message from my wife,
saying that my son had texted her saying that he'd packed his things
and moved in with my stepfather.
I don't even know how to breathe right now.
My own son is now living with the same man who taught me fear.
I spent my son's entire life protecting from trauma
like I'd experienced only to send him straight back into his arms.
I can't even tell him I'm sorry in a way that matters anymore.
I swore to protect him from men like my stepfather,
and now my stepfather is protecting him from me.
It's almost like some twisted Greek tragedy.
I am an awful person.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says he was going to get into.
hit by you anyway, so why do you care that his stepfather hits him? You certainly aren't protecting
him. You're abusing him badly. One hit is one too many, and you didn't stop. You taught him that you're
just as bad as what you were warning him about, and he was brave enough to leave. Even if he moved
into another potentially abusive situation, the only person I feel bad for in this story is the
kids. All of you need therapy, like yesterday, family therapy, and individual therapy for all
parties involved. And another user says, you have written this as though hidden your youngest son
was the only option to defend your oldest son. It wasn't, hey, cut that out. Youngest, go to your
room. Both probably would have had the desired effect. Inserting yourself between the two of them,
would have had the desired effect.
Lifting or pulling one of them out of the situation
would have had the desired effect.
Your youngest son needs therapy.
You need therapy.
And your oldest son probably also needs therapy.
All for different reasons,
but all because of the generational trauma in your lineage.
Work on yourself and help your oldest son.
Let your youngest son cool off.
Then offer him therapy even if he stays at your stepdad.
Tell your youngest son that he is welcome home when he wants to come home,
that you want to apologize to him,
and that he must apologize to his brother.
And another user says,
And now you have taught your son fear,
and one day he will probably do this to his child.
The tragedy of mankind is that we echo our evolutionary history
while thinking we're above it.
The same patterns repeat themselves,
and because we think we are in control of our actions,
we moralize everything and split people into good and bad or worthy and unworthy.
Of what exactly?
Attention, adoration, love, divine acceptance?
The psychology here is more simple than you think.
And these kinds of incidents are quite preventable.
This is a failure of our collective species.
Please don't think you are uniquely horrible.
Control is the key.
You have to abandon it.
You don't need to be strong.
He's not going to hurt you.
You aren't a child anymore.
You don't need to exert control over other people.
Ever.
And we have never heard from the O.P. ever again.
O.P.'s husband can't stop playing Final Fantasy.
Turns out to be much darker than originally known.
This is probably a tale as old.
as Atari. When my husband and I met, we had a lot of things in common. As time went on and our lives
shifted and changed, his interests changed. We've been together nine years, married six. We both
work average office jobs 40 hours a week. He started to get into this game. Final Fantasy. He is
obsessed with it. From the moment he gets up on the weekends to when he gets home from work, he plays the
game. He talks to people about the game. He reads about the game. We all need hobbies,
but he's completely abandoned any of the things that we did together. Hiking, jogging together,
art nights, board games, bar trivia, etc. I'll try to get him to come with me to bar trivia with our
friends, and he just wants to stay home to play the game. I invite him for a hike and he just wants to
relax that day. We've had intimacy five times this year. Each time I had to initiate. I've tried to
initiate dozens of other times, tried to pull him into bed, he will just come to bed, cuddle,
check that I'm asleep, and go back to play his game. I'm not interested in playing video games
beyond a game-like candy crush, so me joining him would just be me being completely disinterested,
confused, lost, or annoyed.
The last time I talked to him about this,
I told him that I was lonely in our marriage and felt neglected.
He told me that I was putting too much pressure on him,
that he needed time to unwind from work.
He will sit on the couch next to me at night
while there's parks and wreck or something in the background,
just not interact with me at all,
and call it couples' time.
He says,
This is how adults do it.
It's not like in the movies.
When I pressed and pressed for date night,
he was quiet and didn't have much to talk about.
And in the car while I was driving home,
instead of interacting with me,
he just pulled out his phone to get on Discord
and talk to people about his game.
I tried to initiate intimacy,
and he kissed me on the forehead,
said good night,
and left to go play the game.
I cried for a little while.
I packed my things and left to stay.
spend a week with my family. When I got back, it was almost like I just walked back into the room
exactly as I'd left. Nothing had changed. He was in the same spot as when I left. I asked him if
he'd even noticed I was gone. And he said no, not really. I stared at him. And he just said,
look, I don't know what you want for me. I'm allowed to have time to myself. He kept pressing that it's
normal for adults to do their own thing. I said, yeah, but we need to do things together too.
He kept saying I put too much pressure on him. And if I want to do something with him so badly,
to give him something more interesting or important than his game. I said, so intimacy with your
wife is not as important or interesting as your game? He said no. And basically, ask any one of my
friends and they would agree they'd prefer to stay up playing the game than cutsy cuddling and sweet
talking with their wives. I don't even know what to say. I'm dumbfounded now. Part of me is
wondering if I don't have a realistic view of relationships. It's good to have alone time. I have my
alone time as well, but it feels like he's my roommate now, not my husband. Before anyone brings up
depression or anxiety, I've asked him about it. He doesn't believe it's related to either,
and instead thinks that he's just changed and has different priorities to what he had to do before.
Do I have next steps here, or is it time for me to just pack up and leave for good? I'm not happy.
I don't think he is the person I initially fell in love with.
I think his wife is Final Fantasy now.
And to be honest, my self-esteem is slipped,
to be less interesting or compelling than pixels on a screen.
Ouch.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One person says, from what you've described,
I think it's time to pack up and leave.
You've put a fair deal of effort into your marriage,
only to not have it matched by your husband.
Your husband has made it plain as can be that he's not interested in doing anything on his part to make you happy
If it has a level of effort higher than sitting in his favorite spot playing his video games
That's not how adults do it
That's how teenagers do it
Married adults participate actively in their marriage and put effort into keeping themselves and their spouse happy
When a marriage has a totally passive partner
That's unfair and leads to resentment
And ultimately spells doom
for the marriage, unless the active partner gives up on their own happiness. You deserve to be
happy, and it's never too late to prioritize your own happiness, whether that's by giving yourself to
someone or by taking yourself away from someone. And another user says, look, I get as much as
anyone how easy and fun it is to get swept up in new hobbies and new friends within those hobbies.
But this has gone on long enough.
And you have to consider that, it'll not stop anytime soon.
How long have you waited for him to stop obsessing?
How much longer are you okay with being ignored in favor of a hobby and other people?
I think you should leave.
Video game addiction, especially with MMOs like Final Fantasy or World Warcraft,
are a trap that some people never escape from sadly.
And, yeah, it does sound like an addiction due to how it affects at least his marriage and health.
as he sounds significantly less active and more sedentary now.
Hell, are you even sure he went to work while you were gone?
I'm sorry this happened to you, but it should be said that this is not your fault.
You are not boring.
You are not unattractive.
And you are not less important than a video game.
He's just obsessed slash addicted.
Like with any addiction, he won't get help on his own until he is ready.
and no one can force him to be ready.
Untangle your life for his,
process your emotions with friends or even therapy if you think it will help,
and find someone who can appreciate you
and balance their hobbies slash interests
in time spent with you as a partner and not a roommate.
But then the OPE comes back a few days later
with an update that gets a little crazy.
And it reads as follows.
All right, I took some of the adjudice,
advice given to me by commenters and went looking through his phone and through his computer to see
what I could find. Unfortunately, some of you who commented and DM'd me were correct.
My husband has been cheating on me. From what I could tell, there were multiple accounts on Discord
that he would be up all day and night talking to and having intimate texting with. It was disgusting.
There were pictures, written out intimate talk, the whole mess.
There were screenshots of his characters doing intimate things with other characters in his game.
I got records of everything, screenshots, etc.
I did something that you will all have my head for, unfortunately,
and decided that if he was going to defile our marriage and disrespect me,
I'll do the same thing back.
I took my kettlebell and redacted his gaming laptop,
grabbed all of his gaming things,
and put them in a container.
When he got home from work meeting,
I was waiting for him with the box and asked him to sit down.
I told him that I was going to give him a chance
to tell me anything he wanted to tell me.
He just stared at me dumbly.
I said, there is nothing you want to tell me?
Nothing at all?
He said no.
So I said, well,
I found out what you've been doing on that game of yours.
His face didn't change.
I think he was trying to call my bluff.
I got up and said this box is for you.
And I want you and this box out of here by the end of the day.
He said, what are you talking about?
What do you mean?
I told him that effective immediately, our relationship was over.
I would be contacting a divorce attorney the next day,
and he can come back to get the rest of his things,
but that he would not be staying here.
I said that I have to leave the room
because I'm so disgusted
that the side of you makes me want to throw up.
He was just shocked,
and then after I went into the bedroom,
I heard him yelling all kinds of things,
sobbing, and what did you do?
How could you do this?
Oh my God!
And sobbing like an effing baby.
Honestly, it felt good.
If there was a worse way I could have hurt him,
I would have done that.
He wasn't crying because he was upset about his actions.
No.
He was crying because he couldn't jump right on and continue playing his game.
Boo-hoo, his little cartoon side pieces had to wait.
Well, to spare you the rest of the play-by-play, he got his things.
I contacted a divorce attorney.
I changed the locks, and I shared exactly what happened on Facebook where all of his friends and some of his family are.
I will be okay.
I am heartbroken because I really thought he was.
a good man, but I was wrong. He's a effing loser who likes to have intimate texting with other women
and have intimacy with cartoon characters on a monitor. Well, he's free to do that without me.
So just let that be a lesson to any other people out there whose marriage seems it's in a
rough spot whose partner is obsessed with this final fantasy game. You should check. Listen to your gut
or people on Reddit,
L.O.L.
O.P.'s boyfriend said he was in the mood to kill her.
Redditors point out some major red flags.
I've been dating my boyfriend for about a year now,
and for the most part, he's been absolutely wonderful,
and I love him so much.
We have a pretty intense, intimate life,
and I'm usually really chill with that.
However, recently, he's been taking it a little too far.
Like, I love choking and spanking in the bedroom, but he started doing it in public.
Like today, we took our dog to the park and I said or did something he didn't like, and he spanked me.
I was shocked.
Later on in the day, we were doing the deed and he started to choke me, again, which I usually like.
It got to a point where I properly couldn't breathe, so I used our signal to stop and he just looked down at me and said, I'm not going to stop because I'm in the mood to kill you.
He must have seen the fear in my eyes or something and he immediately let go and like cradled me and said sorry.
I thought it was just him being in the moment, so I let it go.
But it happened a second time.
He was just like staring at me and was whispering sweet things to me.
And then it took a turn to your mind forever.
Never going to let you go.
I will kill you if you leave.
I recoiled because it made me uncomfortable.
And he like tickled me and told me it was just a joke.
Like, I love this man, but like WTF.
How do I bring this up with him?
To be honest, I'm tempted to leave.
We both don't have dark senses of humor, so I don't know where he's
this came from. How do I address this? What should I say? And now let's get into some of the top
comments. One user says, he ignored your safe word and his response to use it was to joke about
killing you while doing something that very much could kill you or cause serious injury to you.
Honestly, I don't think I could ever trust a person that lost in his own power fantasies
because the one that gets hurt in all of this is you.
Why should it take you feeling like you were going to die to get him to stop and what happens when he starts enjoying that aspect of it?
What will stop him?
Do you say whoops when you wind up in the hospital or worse?
How long before a public spanking becomes a playful slap to the face?
And this isn't a slippery slope argument.
Clearly something has changed.
This is where you are at.
And another user says this is no longer a fantasy.
This is abuse.
Statistics show that men who choke their partners without consent are far more likely to end up killing.
I try not to be alarmist on Reddit, but please listen to all these people saying leave.
You are 19.
You have your whole life ahead of you.
Please do not become another statistic.
Leave and do not.
Go back.
And someone else says,
He's going to kill you.
Get the F out of this relationship.
Strangulation is the number one sign a person will murder you.
Spanking you in the park without your consent is just abuse.
And another user says,
You are in danger.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.
It's been escalating, right?
It's not as nice as it used to be.
It seems that there are more scary moments
and not as many nice ones.
That's how abusers reel you in.
Please dump him via text.
Something like, Jack, you ignored my safe word and have been saying disturbing things to me.
I am deeply uncomfortable and I am stopping our relationship.
Please do not contact me.
I will be blocking you.
Trust us.
We are older and have a lot more experience than you do.
Dumping him will save him.
you years of misery. Please. And then the OP comes back a few days later with an update and it reads as
follows. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am out and I am safe. I'm from Australia so I posted
that at like 10 p.m. thinking I'd only get a few responses and at first I did read through them
and went to sleep. I woke up at 12 in the morning with an overwhelming
response of supportive and concerned messages, and I absolutely cannot thank you guys enough.
I had a bit of a cry, took our dog, and left my now ex-boyfriend at around 1 a.m., and I'm now
safely at my parents' house, which is about two hours away from my former house with him.
Thankfully, in the year we were together, he never wanted to or bothered to come up to my parents' house,
so he doesn't know where I am. I've turned off location services,
and such so that he can't find me.
And I've messaged all my friends explaining the situation.
I'm so ridiculously sorry that it took me so long to update.
My parents took me straight to the local police station after I explained the situation,
and they saw the large purple bruising on my neck from the choking.
I have been at my local police station explaining everything to them,
in hopes to be able to get an intervention order or something so that he can't contact or come near me again.
I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and concern.
You are all such incredible people to have such genuine concern for someone you don't know.
I'm someone who looks at my relationships with rose colored glasses,
and this incident in your comments and advice have helped me take those off and look at the toxicity for what it really is.
In terms of what will happen with my ex-boyfriend, I have blocked him on everything.
All my friends have blocked him, and I absolutely will not contact him again.
him and I work together and I've put it in a request for a store transfer so I'm hoping that it'll be approved if not all hope is not lost as I have two jobs and will happily quit this one to never have to see that man's face again I'm an adult and need to handle the situation like one my dad and older cousin are arranging to go pick up my stuff from my old house thank you again so so so much I cannot express how much you all have helped me and quite frankly I'm
pretty sure you have all saved my life. My doggy Daisy and I are very, very safe at my parents' house,
and I have a good stash of Ben and Jerry's to try to help me cope. And to all the men of my DMs,
calling me horrible names, please stop. You are really not helping. And we have never heard
from the O.P. ever again. My 23 male girlfriend, who is 21 female, told me she was R-worded.
Now I am disgusted during intimacy.
Where do I go from here?
Me and my girlfriend have been together for around nine months.
I really love her, and everything, at least in my eyes, was going great.
She confined in me about her past use and abuse in drugs.
Three years ago, she was in the hospital due to an OD and was kept in a mental hospital for a month or two.
She was diagnosed with severe BPD.
She got clean, was able to graduate high school, and got accepted to our local university where she met me.
Our relationship started off great, but as the months went by, she got more comfortable with me and explained the trauma she lived, getting essayed for years by a family member, being R-worded twice by two different guys, being in 20,
25-year-old men's cars while she was very young.
I understood why she decided to use drugs to cope.
She promised me that her drug days have passed
and that she was doing so much better.
In all fairness, she was so much better.
The past month or so, I noticed her mental health really falling.
She would get flashbacks, burst out in tears,
talk about her S word thoughts,
and sometimes she would say things like,
what if I just did drugs again?
Followed by a
Joking, joking.
I know it's bad.
These things put me on high alert,
but I was spending so much time with her
I know she wasn't using.
Fast forward to the last two weeks.
She hasn't been eating.
Hasn't been sleeping.
Randomly throwing up
random bouts of rage and anger.
Many of the signs of drug use
are starting to present itself.
She straight up stopped going to class.
It's only been a month since the semester started, and I fear she's going to drop out so close to the finish line.
I need serious help. It's destroying my mental health.
I love her so much, but I can't be in a relationship with an addict,
especially having overcome escort attempt myself.
This environment is causing me to slip back into the old self that I worked so hard to grow out of.
I want to help, but I don't know how.
I know if I leave her, she will commit S-word.
No questions asked.
I don't mean the typical threat to commit S-word just to try and get me back type person.
I mean, for real.
I want to help, but I'm 23 years old.
I'm not qualified at all to help someone like this full time.
She's had so many therapists and even they aren't qualified.
I have reached my breaking point.
I can't stand there and watch a loved one die,
but I also can't allow myself to be sucked in and destroyed as well.
And the top comment on this post reads,
She needs more help than you can offer.
You need to stop dating her.
And the O.P. responds and says,
In the state she's in right now,
I fear she will commit S word if I leave.
I don't know who I should tell.
And the commenter responds and says,
Talk to your college's mental health counselors,
explain everything and ask for help.
You can't bear the burden of this.
If she has friends, talk to them.
If she begins to make threats, call in a wellness check.
Find a way to get her under professional care if you can.
You have to leave.
And then the OP comes back two weeks later with an update, and it reads as follows.
I want to start by saying,
I, in no way, shape, or form want to make her abuse about me.
I just need help understanding my own emotions so I can be better for her.
My girlfriend has had a long history with abuse her entire life,
from having a father who was physically abusive,
and two family members repeatedly essaying her.
She recently started getting nightmares, so I asked what they were.

while others follow the noise

learn more at bloomberg.com
she revealed to me she was
R-worded by multiple people
multiple times over the course of a year
and a half by a group of older boys
when she was in school very young
she didn't go into a lot of detail
but she told me some of the things those boys did to her
They would take turns, arwarding her.
I started to feel sick to my stomach because some of the things they did to her,
these are things she craves when we have intimacy.
She told me that she wants me to do whatever I want to her whenever,
and that me owning her turned her on.
At first, I loved this.
I enjoyed our intimacy, and she always enjoyed it as well.
with the new information about her past,
I'm starting to feel disgusted with her and myself.
I don't understand my emotions.
I'm truly terrified.
Thoughts I know are wrong, flood my brain.
Did some part of her enjoy being R-worded?
Is that year and a half were the moments where she would look forward to it?
Did it turn her on?
When we have intimacy is she trying to,
to recreate those moments and feelings with me?
Is she envisioning it while we have intimacy?
These are the thoughts that plague my mind.
My entire view of the relationship was shifted,
and I don't know how to fix it.
How can I ask her these things?
Would she even be able to understand her own complex feelings about it?
I feel horrible for feeling like this.
It's destroying me.
It's gotten to the point our intimate life is affected.
It'll pop up in my mind in the middle of intimacy
and I'll go completely soft.
A few days ago it happened again.
I was in the middle of intimacy when she moaned something
and that was the moment I instantly was turned off.
All I could think was, is she really in this moment with me?
or is she fantasizing about that?
I wish I could control my mind.
I know it's wrong to think that.
Her bringing this up to me has brought out a complex set of emotions
I have never felt before and don't know how to process.
A part of me is glad she trusts me enough to tell me it's so amazing I can be that person for her.
I love her very much.
Then there's the other part of me that wishes she never did.
She's extremely insecure about her body.
After that moment a few days ago, I haven't had intimacy with her since.
We used to have intimacy every other day minimum, and I just can't.
I know it's eating her up inside.
She sat me down and asked me if there was anything I could change about her body.
What would I change?
The moment she asked, I wanted to cry.
I knew why she had asked, but I asked her why she would ask anyways.
She said she felt like I wasn't attracted to her anymore.
As much as I reassured her, I was still attracted to her, it just wasn't enough.
She broke down crying.
This is the same girl who decided to lose 40 pounds when we started dating because she felt like she wasn't attractive enough for me.
She tries so hard to be pretty enough for me, but she feels like it's never enough.
With her confidence already added such a low,
Our intimate life falling apart like this is the last nail in the coffin.
Please, any advice would be appreciated.
Edit number one, I just wanted to apologize to all the victims who were hurt reading my post.
I never wanted to hurt or offend anyone.
I'm truly sorry.
Having read through so many replies, many attacking me for what I said,
others truly giving me solid advice.
I realize both she and I need therapy.
I'm going to be talking to her soon, and I will be back with an update.
I never realized just how deep trauma goes.
I never realized my trauma also affected my thinking when it came to react into girlfriend's trauma.
I was assaulted at a young age, and my response to that trauma is the exact opposite of hers.
I became dominant and in control.
Whenever my girlfriend would touch or even graze that area, I would immediately
move her hands away. My trauma took the form of aversion. Hers did not. Subconsciously, that scared me.
I didn't understand her response to it. It was so different than mine. I still have so much to learn about
SA, about myself, about trauma, how to heal and how to cope. Thank you to all the people who gave
advice. We're just two people in our early 20s trying to figure out this weird thing we call life.
I apologize for hurting anyone.
I will keep you all updated.
And then the OPE makes an update in the same post and says,
It's been 11 days since I posted this, and a lot has happened.
For starters, I want to thank everyone who suggested therapy.
My girlfriend was able to book a session with her therapist, which went really well.
She got recommended a few books to read as well as ways to help cope with her complex BPD.
Things seem to be getting better.
So far, I'm really glad.
I'm still looking to find an affordable therapist.
I have an appointment with one next week, so I hope it goes well, fingers crossed.
After this point, me and my girlfriend had a conversation about everything.
After explaining to her my thoughts, she started to cry.
At this point, I thought I absolutely messed up big time, but once she calmed down,
she told me she felt really blessed and lucky that I would be concerned for her in that way.
She has said that I easily could have taken advantage of it,
but the fact that I'm worried about triggering her to the point that I would go
unattracted or unturned on means that I care more about her well-being than my intimate gratification.
I was really relieved that she understood me.
A lot of tears and a ton of hugs later, we finally were able to lay everything out.
Issues we had from the beginning that were never resolved,
hurt feelings and things that were never addressed were all finally talked about.
All this was over the course of a week.
A lot of emotions and every day felt like the end of the world.
I won't lie, there were moments I wasn't sure we would make it through.
In the end, it made us stronger.
Our relationship felt free.
Like a weight was finally lifted off our shoulders and it feels amazing.
I know I still have a lot to learn.
I'm willing to do what I can in order to be a better man for her,
and I see that same commitment in her for me.
We love each other very, very much.
I know it's a journey for both of us,
and while some of the lows can be really hard,
I know, in the end, it's worth it.
We've come so far and grown so much as people over this past year.
Whatever it is, I know we can get through it together.
Thank you all for the kind words and support.
I had considered deleting this post when it first got a lot of attention,
but I can say this post in the events following it,
really helped save my relationship.
It really was a domino effect in a good way.
As for another update, I can't say for sure there will be one.
We're going to continue to focus on healing,
bettering our relationship, and building out our future.
I'm excited to see what the future holds for us.
Thanks again for all of the love and the encouragement,
and we have never heard from the O.P. ever again.
I have just been betrayed by the two people I trusted most, and I don't know what's
to feel anymore.
I'm sorry if this is annoying.
I can't stop thinking about it, and for some reason I feel more secure venting it to strangers
rather than people who know me and can judge me more in depth.
I won't lie.
I have been suspecting my fiancé was having an affair, but I didn't have any solid evidence
to accuse him, even then I had a feeling that I didn't want to dig any deeper because I was scared
in case what I was suspecting was true.
Twelve days ago, I came home from visiting my mom's, and I headed it upstairs to wake my fianc
as he had a habit of sleeping in way past 2 p.m. and then complain that I didn't wake him.
I opened the door, and all I see is my practically unclothed sister.
rushing to try and get out of a lingerie body suit that belonged to me.
I don't know how to explain it, but my mind just went blank.
Like whatever I was thinking about beforehand, suddenly disappeared.
You know, when you stand up so fast and your head just gets a little dizzy?
That's what I felt alongside the feeling of sickness brewing in my stomach.
I stood there for a solid 30 seconds, looking at the two people I trusted most, look more shocked than I felt.
My fiancé jumped out of bed and suddenly came up with excuses it went from,
It was an accident, to I was lonely and needed intimate relief.
I probably should add my best friend committed S word two weeks ago.
The girl I knew for over 15 years was suddenly out of her.
of my life, and even though I'm surrounded by people, I've told my fiancé about how alone,
devastated, and guilty, that I couldn't have done anything to help her.
I just left. I didn't take my car because at that point, my eyes were about to just start flooding.
I walked to my friends, 10 minutes, and confided in her about what happened.
The amount of grief I felt from not only losing a best friend, but losing my relationships with
my fiancé and my sister within the same two-week period.
Now that I'm sitting down to write this, I don't know if any of these relationships will
ever be mended or could ever go back to the way they were.
I don't understand why my sister, of all people, would do this.
There was never any favoritism toward any of us for her to feel spiked.
I have never intentionally tried to hurt her.
I gave her shelter when she had no place to go,
and despite her not paying a single penny,
I bought her food that she liked,
made sacrifices in my own home for her.
Hell, she kept ranting about how her living room walls gave her a headache.
They were white.
So I took time out of my day to paint it a nice gray color.
my fiance too i gave that man everything i was willing to have kids with him despite the fact i was
always wanted to be child free i was going to start a family so that he was happy i gave him comfort
whenever something bad happened to him i spent hours watching unfunny movies that he seemed to find
hilarious i even gave him a effing locket with our anniversary photo in that he decided to wear it
while having intimacy with my sister.
These last days I've went from sadness to being angry, then disgusted,
and it's a constant cycle I have never been able to get out of.
Despite being smoke-free for two years, I've picked up a cigarette.
I used to be heavily addicted to smoking from 16 to 21.
I'm currently 23.
There's the moments when I go to do something,
but automatically lose interest and even times over dinner.
For some reason, it feels as if I've went into hibernation.
I sleep almost 17 times a day now,
and even for the rest of those hours, I'm still tired and forced myself to stay awake.
Both of them asked to meet up on Wednesday.
My sister's exact message was,
Hey, I know you probably don't want to hear from me right now,
but can you meet me and fiancé?
We want to talk and want you to properly hear us out.
The situation you found us in was not the most ideal situation
to put you in a good headspace to talk about it right there and then.
Please let us explain.
I love you and you're my sister and I don't want to lose you.
Please.
I think it's too late.
It was too late from whenever this affair started
or even when he started getting intimate desires for my fiancé.
I miss my sister, but, according to what I saw, the sister I miss,
and whoever my sister is now, are not the same person.
I haven't talked to anyone yet,
except the one friend I'm currently staying with at the moment.
I'm scared I'll be seen as a failure of a future wife.
But now I don't even think I want to be a wife anymore,
but I guess I'd rather share to strangers than people.
people who know me personally. I apologize again. And then the OP comes back with an update within
the post that reads, Hi, me again. I'm back and editing the post. At first, I was just going to
dump this vent to get it out of my mind, but I want to say thank you for everyone's advice.
I guess this counts as a small update. I'm unsure. So far, nothing but. Nothing. But, you. I want to say,
big has really happened. The friend I'm staying with has offered to come with me to talk to my
parents about this, also included my older brother. She honestly has been my rock through this whole
situation, and I couldn't ask for a better support system from one person, though I don't plan on
putting that on her shoulders since it would be stressful to be the designated support system
friend. I'm currently looking into therapy for both my grief and the affair. I'm not well-versed
legal-wise, so I'm currently in the process of looking for a lawyer, just so legally I know
I'm in the clear in case there would be a loophole somewhere. I did contact my sister, and another
copy-pasted message I replied, I don't plan on meeting with you on Wednesday. I'll talk to you
when I'm ready, and whether it be tomorrow or years from now, it doesn't matter. You both owe me
my own time to heal after the two people I've trusted most went behind my back. Betrayed my trust
all under my roof that you both lived rent-free under.
Bye.
I can't lie.
I was almost ready to tell her to meet me there,
and then when she sent that message,
but I've realized, and though help of people in the comments that I can't think enough,
I need time to work on myself mentally,
rather than repair a long-gone relationship with my sister.
No, I don't plan on going back to my ex and never will.
Maybe one day I'll hear him out,
but today is not that day.
As for now, I'm getting ready to try and explain to my parents everything that happened.
I don't have any evidence between my ex and sister.
However, I do have their messages they sent me, which traps one another.
I think that's the right wording.
But anyways, thank you all again for the advice and kind comments and messages.
Have a good day or night.
And now let's get into some.
of the top comments. One person says, you have nothing to apologize for and nothing to be ashamed
about. None of this was your fault. You've suffered a horrible betrayal by a family member and a partner.
Again, none of this was your fault. To hell with your ex-fiance, to hell with your sister. No amount of
apologies or excuses should smooth over a betrayal of this magnitude. Can you move to you move?
out to a more permanent location?
Can your friend help you to pick up your things?
Have you considered speaking to your family about this?
And again, none of this is your fault.
And nobody is going to fault you for not being able to be your best right now.
Lean on the other people in your life right now if you can.
It's going to be a bumpy ride, but you can pull through this.
And the O.P. response and says,
honestly, I've not thought about my plan so far.
The house we lived in, I inherited from my grandma, so as far as I know, I can kick both of them out.
Though I'm not well-versed in a lot of legal stuff, so I'm currently trying to take a look at my options in case I need a lawyer or anything like that.
As for family, I haven't said a word yet.
I have not really spoken to anyone except a friend I'm currently staying at.
I plan to tell them eventually about everything, though I'm just trying to better my friend.
myself mentally before telling anyone else. And someone else says, I'm so sorry they did this to you.
Although whatever you do, do not meet up with them. The fact she used us in her message means they
will be informing you that they were a couple now. They are going to blame hiding it on you
and your grief. They are going to use this meeting to manipulate you. You need to tell your family
so they hear it from you first.
Also, you need to start the eviction process now.
The relationship you thought you had with your sister and fiancé is over.
They will never the people you thought they were.
The best way to move on from people like them is to go strict, no contact immediately.
I would block them everywhere.
Ask your friend that you're staying with to put the word out that the wedding is canceled and why.
I wish you nothing but the best.
And then the OPE comes back one year later with an update and it reads as follows.
Hi Reddit.
Me again.
I wanted to log back on as I wanted to thank the people who showed me more kindness than people I was supposed to trust
and also the people who seemed interested in my life.
Can't blame them when I read something that has some drama.
I do also become invested.
I'll start with myself.
I got myself into the therapy and began taking care of myself and myself.
only. Entering my relationship with my ex, I hadn't noticed how much time I spent taking care of
him and neglecting myself and my needs. It was one of those relationships that you didn't notice
the faults until you leave and become a sort of specter of what the relationship actually was.
I think part of me was so invested in believing he was a good guy because how past relationships
had hurt me before that, I tried very hard to hold on to the idea that. I tried very hard to hold on to the idea that,
I had finally found something who was different.
Loving the wrong person can lead to devastating consequences,
and I just happened to do that exact thing.
Whenever I had seen stories before about people staying with their cheating partner,
I was so quick to criticize how stupid that would be
and thought, what did you expect?
When they cheat again and again,
but now that I've been through that, it was eye-opening.
It's not easy to just up and leave behind someone you had it,
invested so much love, time, and effort into. Yes, you can lose all love for that person in seconds,
but you never lose the feeling of the love you felt before it, if that makes sense. After I found out,
I did want to try and work it out for many reasons, but through the help of my therapist,
she helped me realize that I wanted to stay because, after my best friend's death, he was the only
thing that felt familiar in that moment. Everyone is growing up and moving away in my life. I was in a
position that felt so alone, but to expect people not to change is to not allow growth. They moved
out of my house and I moved back in. I won't lie. It was lonely. I was so used to other voices in my home
that it just felt empty. But an empty room is open to hundreds of ideas in my opinion. I redecorated
with the help of friends and some family and even though I had lost two people. Thanks to them, I was able to
make memories that I will cherish. I won't try and cover up that. Before I got into therapy,
I was indeed a wreck. I was just so tired of disappointment from my ex that the cheating was the
final blow that knocks me back into reality. My sister's betrayal hurt way worse because we share
the same parents. We used to share bunk beds and without my knowledge shared the same partner.
But I owe them a thanks for allowing me to remove people who clearly had no good intentions. I
always love my sister, even though I don't want to, but sometimes there are strings attached
to people that just can't be cut and she is one of them. I will never welcome her into my home again,
but I will answer the phone if she was at her lowest. Even though she was a snake in my garden,
doesn't mean she's not my sister. She did try to call a couple of weeks after she had moved out,
and at first I was angry at her. I honestly just wanted to hit her with everything I had,
But when I answered and heard her voice, I just felt sorry for her.
Everyone in my family knew how terrible she was,
and just for some pleasure, she ruined the last relationship that was trying to help her.
I just think she's a very self-destructive person that will never learn.
They were constantly staying at different friends' houses
because they couldn't afford to rent anywhere else.
My sister is apparently cheating on my ex with random people,
and none of them are able to hold down a job.
I would say karma, but it's just sad.
My ex traded someone who became a pushover for him,
who gave him everything she could for someone who couldn't give a shit about him.
I wish them well.
I deserve better than that, and I just hope one day they grow up
and begin to become better people than who they are right now.
My family no longer talks to my sister,
so she's on her own.
Some things I hear about her
reminds me of just a confused child.
However, I did see her on New Year's Eve.
Me and some friends went clubbing because why not?
And we unintentionally ran into her.
At first I tried to ignore her and just pretend I didn't see her.
But she ended up coming up to me and tried to talk to me as if nothing happened.
As the ex-partner I wanted to slap her, but as her sister, I wanted to hug her and ask her why.
But I just left.
After we remove labels of sister or her partner's ex or whatever, we share the same DNA and that
will always be the thing that connects us. As for my dating life, I'm currently seeing someone and
have been doing since November 23. I deserve happiness, and I deserve a lot more than what my
ex gave me. However, I'm still dealing with issues from that relationship that has me in moments
of guilt of not giving my full trust. I'm happy that he understands and listens to me when I have
concerns, but I don't want to constantly live with issues I carried because of someone else.
We're taking it slow, and he always reassures me, he's a good guy, and I'm happy he's in my life.
I'll find my peace with the situation eventually, but I'll have to work to get to that point,
and that's okay. Sorry for the whole ramble, but this is still sort of event post.
I have a lot of mixed emotions that I haven't been able to untangle. Thank you to everyone who
listened, reached out, and gave advice. I appreciate that so much and I hope everyone had a good
new year. And now let's get into some of the top comments. One user says, your sister is a P-O-S.
She's still with the guy that she and him broke your heart. You're a better person than me.
She could have been my Siamese twin sister and I'm cutting her off for good. Snakes don't change.
they shed to become bigger and deadlier.
Good luck.
And the O.P. responds and says,
I'm just assuming, but I think it's one of those situations
when both people ruined everything for nothing
just to stay together so they don't end up alone.
And from how long I've known both of them,
I can confidently say that they're the type of people
who can't handle being on their own,
even for a little while,
so it makes sense that two people, so alike, ended up together.
and we have never heard from the OP ever again.
My 22 male girlfriend, who is 20 female, has been hoarding my used contraceptives.
I've been dating a girl, we will call her V, for about a year and a half now.
We go to college together and live separately.
We have, by all accounts, a great relationship and I 100% plan on staying with her,
after graduation.
We don't want kids any time soon.
Any talk of kids has always been us playing around.
I think that's all the necessary background information.
We don't want an unplanned pregnancy,
so we use dual protection, birth control, and contraceptives.
And after I finish, I always tie the contraceptive up and throw them in the trash.
This week, while Vivian,
was at practice for her sport, I was looking for some cleaning stuff in her bathroom. In the back
corner under her sink, there was a bunch of stuff stacked on top of some rags, and the rags
were covering a Tupperware container. And the container was filled with used contraceptives,
seemingly still tied up. I definitely didn't want to open it, and to be honest, didn't really like
looking at it either, so I put everything back, went on with my day, and didn't say a single
word about it to her. The cleaning stuff I needed ended up being somewhere else, so I don't think
me using it to raise any alarms. I really don't know what to do right now. We're honest about
everything, almost to a fault. So I feel terrible not bringing this up to her. Really don't like
the idea of asking a friend for advice because my crew isn't the most sensitive bunch.
The first thing that popped into my head was that she was trying to artificially inseminate herself.
But that doesn't make sense because I see her take birth control every day.
Her roommate is basically never there.
So I don't really imagine her being the culprit.
This just feels so weird to me,
and I don't want to mess anything up.
What should I do?
And now it's getting into some of the top comments.
One user says,
this is a question that needs to be asked.
It wasn't too long ago that Reddit had someone step in
to ask about a strange trophy found
that was basically him in a box.
Controceptive rappers,
tickets, stubs, letters, trash,
lots of strange and creepy things
that normally get tossed away.
Turns out the girl was just hoarding mementos.
Don't know where it went after they had a talk.
But it's a talk you need to have.
Maybe she's saving those so she can keep count.
Maybe she has a strange fantasy.
Maybe she saves one used contraceptive from each boyfriend, maybe anything,
which is why you need to clear the air and let her know how you're feeling about this.
And the OP response and says,
If it's one from each past boyfriend,
then that raises a whole new set of questions.
But I would be pretty shocked if that were the case.
And someone responds and says,
Does she still live with her parents or a super judgmental roommate?
She may not want them to be spotted in the trash
or risk clogging the toilet.
So she holds onto them until trash day
and disposes of them right before they're picked up.
And another user says,
Throw them out without our knowledge
See if she asks you what happened to her
Controceptive collection
She will know you know
Are you sure they are all yours?
And the OOP responds and says,
I'm not sure, probably could find out how old they are
If I look close
But I'll talk to her before it gets at that point
I would certainly be surprised if they weren't
And someone else says
we're honest about everything, almost to a fault.
Okay, sure.
Except she's been hiding your used contraceptives in a Tupperware container in her bathroom.
That is not normal behavior.
I would talk to her about it.
And then the OPE comes back the next day with an update, and it reads as follows.
Well, I feel a lot better.
Definitely wasn't as big as a deal as I thought it would be.
I went to Vivian's place after class and we watched some Game of Thrones and told her I had something serious to ask her.
She looked scared like she thought I was going to ask to take a break, which made me feel bad, but it made my actual question easier to ask.
I cut straight to the chase and asked, why is there a Tupperware container filled with used contraceptives in your bathroom?
She took a few seconds to process and then kind of laughed and said,
I promise it's nothing bad, but it might be better if you don't know for another month or so,
which made me feel way better, but I told her that I needed to at least have a vague idea of their purpose.
It actually is pretty funny.
So Vivian is on a sports team that is kind of rowdy,
and the team has a fierce rivalry with another team at a college in the same town.
The other team stole something from them recently,
so Vivian's team has been thinking of a way to get them back.
The girls settled on the idea to hoard contraceptives and dumped them on
or in something that belongs to the other team.
They aren't sure whether it will be easier to do their house, their car, their backpacks,
or something else like coat pockets.
So all the girls have been hoarding for like three weeks now, and they plan on striking soon.
She didn't want to tell me because she didn't want me to be an accomplice.
I love a good prank war, so I approve.
I'm slightly worried that my DNA is going to be mysteriously found at a crime scene this summer,
but I honestly can't imagine things going that far.
The lesson learned is, always ask your partner before jumping to conclusions.
Although me posting this on Reddit might save my ass if I do get framed for R word.
So I don't feel too bad about my decision.
Also, to the people who posted that she is keeping them because she has a fantasy for swallowing huge loads at a time.
God bless you.
And now let's get into some of the top comments.
One user says, I don't know, man.
Couldn't that be deemed a biohazard?
I think I'd tell your girlfriend it might not be.
be the best idea and to come up with some other prank. And someone responds and says, yeah,
this sounds borderline, if not straight out illegal. And another user says, it most definitely
effing is illegal. O.P., tell your girlfriend to rethink. An unused contraceptive? No problem,
but used? The cops will be charging the whole team with something involving the risks
associated with potentially throwing a STD-covered contraceptive in someone's face. Not saying,
you have any sort of STDs, just that contraceptives are used for more than stopping babies.
And we have never heard from the O.P. ever again.
And all right, guys, that wraps up some dark Reddit threads.
