and get cozy because we're getting into some disturbing dark web Reddit stories.
I ordered myself on the dark web.
I know you're frowning.
The title is weird, I know.
But if you could just give me a moment, I will explain.
I'll have to be fast, though.
I don't know how close they are.
Essentially, I ordered myself on the dark web.
I'm a drug user. I'll admit it.
Weed is my usual go-to, but I buy that off my friend.
If, however, I want to get something a little more heavy, like acid or booger sugar,
I would just order it off the dark web.
It's surprisingly simple.
A few clicks, some Bitcoin transfers, and then boom.
I have acid in my PO box.
but I'm also a curious guy.
The dark web has always intrigued me up until a few days ago.
I had only been on there to buy drugs off-site some of my friends gave to me,
but late one night I was sober and at home, which was a rare thing for me,
so since I was bored, I decided to boot up my browser
and try and see what sort of effed up stuff I could find on the dark web.
If you've ever been on the dark web, you'll know that you can't just search up red rooms or hitman for hire and get results.
No, you have to find links to these websites first.
So I hop back on to Google again to try and find some links to a messed up website.
I know it's weird that I was actively searching for the worst, but as soon as I got on the dark web that night,
I had a sense of morbid curiosity overcome me.
Anyway, I spent a little while trying to find some links.
Anything that I found, though, was either too tame for me, or the links didn't work.
At this point, I was about ready to give up, and I wish I had.
But in one final attempt, I clicked on Reddit, hopping on to R-slash Deep Web.
I didn't think I would find anything, so I just scrolled through for about half an hour before sorting by new.
Then I found it.
One simple text post titled Slayers Assassination and Life Ruining Services.
In the text box in the post was what seemed to be just a random assortment of numbers and letters.
It took my tired brain a second to three.
figure out what it was, but I realized pretty quickly it was a link, presumably to a hitman's website.
So I decided to paste the link into my dark web browser, and what do you know? It worked. But before I
decided to go any further, I figured I should go back to Opie's profile to see if they have
posted on any new dark web links. However, when I went back to that point, I figured, I should go back to
that post in question, O.P.'s profile was deleted. Weird. Anyway, I reopened my dark web tab and hopped
onto the site. Up along the top of the website was its name, Slayers' assassination and life-ruining
services, and next to it what looked to be a skull inside of a crosshair. I chuckled
when I first saw that. The site must be fake.
scrolling down, however, I was not disappointed.
There was a paragraph of white text on a black background
and a small box to the right of the text that just said,
Place in Order.
The text was the main part, though, as it took up most of the page.
It read,
Slayer's assassination and life-ruining services offers everything from acid attack,
crippling, blinding,
torture, our word, beatings, and good old death.
We have the lowest prices out of any other company running similar services, and we are worldwide.
We have a dedicated and experienced group of staff based all over the world.
So if you need someone to be assassinated, or maybe you just want them scarred for life,
don't hesitate to contact us.
Again, I laughed.
This had to be satire, right?
Hell, I was even tempted to order it on someone just to see what would happen.
Ironically, I actually have a half-decent job, so I can afford it.
Better not to risk it, though, I thought to myself.
I was about to close my computer and call it for a night when I heard a knock at the door.
I live alone, so it was unusual to give visitors.
especially so late at night.
But when I first opened my door, it was just my good buddy Mark,
who also happened to me my weed plug.
As I opened the door, he doesn't hesitate to let himself in
and shove a big baggy full of pots in my face.
This dude is the best shit I've had in a minute.
We've got to try some.
I couldn't say no.
Cut to a couple hours later.
It's early morning and Mark and I are chill.
on the couch, both blazed, and he suddenly decides to get up.
And I assume he's going to get some leftover pizza, but he walks over my desk and computer.
Slayers' assassinations.
Are you going to kill someone or something?
He mutters.
What?
I reply.
Your computer, dude, it's got some hacker shit on it.
It's the dark web man.
Don't mess with it.
At this point, I'm still on my couch, half asleep and not painful attention.
However, I sat up pretty fast when he said the words,
Hey man, let's order a hitman on you.
I hopped up and walked over to my PC.
Part of my brain was screaming no.
What the F are you doing?
But the majority of my brain, which was also the high part,
was thinking about how funny it would be to order a hand.
Hitman on myself. So I agree. I do. Made him get out of my chair, though, because I didn't want him
seeing what my credit card numbers were as I transferred some Bitcoin. At the end, after I wrote down
all my personal details, like my address, age, and even a photo, I had to select what I wanted
to happen to me. I just selected plain old assassination, as it was actually cheaper. It was actually
cheaper than some of the other things. I could have paid an extra couple of grand to be beaten before
my death, but even my high brain didn't want to splash the cash too much on my own death. God,
this is ridiculous. Anyway, I placed the order and then replied to a confirmation email, and boom,
it was done. A couple of clicks that I had ordered myself on the dark web. Mark and I laughed about it
for a while. But then he left about an hour later, and I fell asleep not too long after.
I woke up around 9 a.m., which meant I got at least six hours of sleep, even if it felt like
I got three. I got up and out of bed, threw on some track pants and a cotton shirt,
yes, I sleep unclothed, and brewed myself a coffee before sitting down to play some games
and just enjoy my Sunday. You can imagine how shocked I.
I was when I saw that I had ordered my death the previous night.
Even though I thought the site was BS, I still felt a pit open up in my stomach.
Even when I'm high, I usually can make sensible decisions.
I chuckled.
Not like I could remember it anyway, but I guess Mark's new stuff really was good.
I would assume a normal human being would do something else, but I was still kind of
out of it from the night before, so I just carried on with my day. I was a little more paranoid,
sure, but as I said, I just assumed it was BS. I even laughed at the email I got from the website,
saying that their hitman has been dispatched and was on its way. It was like ordering a package
off Amazon. I was tempted to email back and ask for some day delivery. But I didn't need to ask,
because that's exactly what I got.
I didn't see it arrive,
but around the time I started to cook myself a crappy dinner,
I noticed a blacked-out sedan parked on the other side of the road from my house.
I did not live in a rural area,
but there is a lot of trees and bushes between each of the houses on my street,
so I would be surprised if any other house saw the car except for mine.
At this point, I was freaking out.
What if the website was real?
Even though I'm a big guy, I was freaking out.
I don't own any weapons, aside from a slightly larger than average kitchen knife.
Whatever, I'm confronting it, I decided.
I put on a hoodie and slid the knife into the front pocket before waltzing out of my house
and walking right up to the driver's side window of the vehicle.
Even I was astonished at my own courage.
knocking on the window, nothing happened.
It was rather anti-climatic.
I was fully prepared to have to fight for my life,
all because I did something really dumb while I was baked.
But, like I said, nothing happened.
I even put my head right up to the window,
as if there was a reflection to try and get a better look to see what's inside.
I could barely see what was inside of the car, but all I could make out were two empty seats.
No one was even inside.
I had gotten all hyped up for nothing.
I decided to wait out by the car for a bit, but after half an hour or so, I was hungry,
and I had to go back inside to take my dinner out of the oven.
I swear, it was only a minute between me going inside to take my dinner out of the oven
and looking back out of the window, and the car being gone.
I didn't even hear it go.
Guess I'm eating my dinner with all my curtains closed and doors locked.
I muttered to myself.
I had just started to calm down when the power shut off.
It was sunny outside, and coupled with the car,
I now knew that this was the real deal.
I had signed my own death warrant.
I ran into my upstairs bedroom and locked the door and then hid under the bed.
I couldn't call the cops.
What would I say?
Oh yes, hello, sir.
Turns out while it's super high, I paid $5,000 for some anonymous hitman to kill me,
and now he's arrived.
Send an officer ASAP, please, and thank you.
So I just stayed hiding under my bed.
And I still am now.
I've been here for an hour now writing this.
think of this as my epitaph.
I know I'm screwed.
Just a minute ago I heard my back door slowly creak open.
This piece of writing may seem humorous to you, the reader, but in reality, as you read this,
I'm under my bed praying to God that lost all faith in me years ago to spare me to let me go.
But I know that won't happen.
My bedroom door just opened, and I see a big bit of it.
big pair of black boots.
There are Wikipedia entries on the dark web.
I found an article about my life there.
You have Googled yourself at some point or another.
Admit it.
There's nothing shameful about it.
It's not worse than what I did.
I searched my name on the dark web.
Don't ever make that same mistake.
I was 19 years old then.
Live, my girlfriend, and her family were kind enough to let me live in their guest bedroom at the start of the year.
They liked the fact that I could fix most of their computer problems.
Live is a great person, and what she saw in a hacker who could never survive for long in the 9th of 5 world is beyond me.
Their house was in a suburb, only a few walks away from a library, and coffee shops with free Wi-Fi.
These locations were convenient for my burgeoning career as a day.
digital outlaw. I used those resources until I was able to move out and get a small apartment of my own.
After a string of demeaning jobs and abusive bosses, I found financial independence.
I did this after I learned how to buy and sell things I shouldn't have with the use of my
Tor browser. I engaged in illegal transactions such as ordering counterfeit money and stolen IDs.
I discovered there was a large market for manufactured psychedelics.
I often went to the skate park to sell those items off the nethermost landscape of the World Wide Web.
Business was good.
A young man with years spent in foster care, I sought out activities which gave me a sense of control.
A childhood of not having any will do that to you.
The ability to navigate the online world to get almost whatever I wanted, a 40% of the world.
me a sense of power. It was all going well until one evening in July. I sat on the second level
of a Barnes & Noble bookstore in a corner next to the self-help section. I always did my best
work there. The place was starting to go under, and I did not have to worry about an influx of patrons.
Despite having a disguised IP address, I never wanted to risk a raid at home. The items were always
shipped to a PO box instead of my unit number as well. In retrospect, these were all flimsy
safety measures. They still gave me a sense of comfort, even if they were a tad delusional.
I made sure there were not any cameras mounted near where I sat. It was a small space out of the
way of the general public. Hiding in plain sight was always my preferred method. I drank strong
coffee out of an oversized styrofoam cup. After 15 minutes of searching, I grew bored. I typed in my
name, Joshua Wells. An input of my identity on that part of the web should be an indicator
of how successful and arrogant I had become. I did not expect Wikipedia to be among the results,
but it was the third link down.
The first one involved a ghost tour in New Jersey.
The guide had a similar name.
The second was a website I was just not interested in.
It was very graphic.
While I may have been a thrill seeker,
I was not about to consume media,
which capitalized on hurting others.
I clicked on the third article,
link because of the title.
It was about a television show.
It read, The Short Life of Joshua Wells.
At first, the title did not startle me, since there are plenty of others with the same name.
Recaps of 10 episodes were on the page.
The first paragraph illustrated how the series did not continue past season one.
I read the summary of the first episode for the sake of passing time.
Episode 1.
Joshua's father is a known,
and feared gang member.
His mother is a helpless addict.
She attempts to use their own son as a drug mule on a plane flight from Boston to California.
She has hopes to make a profit by dealing narcotics to a major criminal enterprise on landing.
The authorities intercept them.
Their son goes with CPS.
He goes to a safe harbor for kids.
The synopsis struck me as very close to home.
Who wrote or directed the show was not listed, but it did state the air date.
The month and year given match the era when an identical set of circumstances had befallen me.
The name of the center I went to was even called Safe Harbor.
I was too young to remember much, but the facts were precise.
I gulped and tried to shrug it off as an unusual coincidence.
I read the second episode summary.
Episode 2
We follow Joshua
on his 15th birthday
He goes to a juvenile detention facility
for the first time after he attacks a teacher
by throwing a desk at him
Although he missed, the instructor
still presses charges since he did not
like the student much.
He befriends a troublemaker on the inside
named Ian.
They escape, but not before a
massive brawl with the other teens
ensued inside of the facility.
It ends with the two counties.
I felt the hairs on my arm stand up. It was uncanny to me how similar the events went to my own
experiences. A slight dizziness overtook me, but I went on to the third, unable to keep my eyes
from skimming. Episode 3. Joshua is free. Joshua decides to break in enter an old man's
upper class home after scouting the place for days. His goal is to take the many Rolex watches
from the top drawer of the old man's dresser.
When he enters the house,
Joshua discovers how the owner did not take his vacation cruise trip as planned.
The man was asleep in his bedroom until Joshua wakes the victim by accident.
Joshua runs away.
He gets chased by the homeowner outside,
where the elderly man dies of a heart attack in the street.
I felt my chest tighten.
It was all true,
but I had never shared that story with anyone before.
It was one of my most guilt-ridden memories.
I read the next two.
Episode 4.
Joshua has nightmares of the old man crawling out of a ditch and choking him to death.
He complains about night terrors to one of his counselors, who recommended a doctor.
He ends up selling anti-anxiety pills after he does not like the way they make him feel.
A girl he ass out, ODs, and goes to the hospital.
While she survives, he feels terrible.
but not enough to stop dealing.
He takes his earnings and buys a PC.
He takes lessons on how to breach other people's privacy
from a group of credit card thieves he met in a mall.
Episode 5.
Joshua discovers the dark web.
He uses it to hustle low-level street drugs at first.
He later reads headlines about some of his accomplices getting arrested.
He still continues to engage in illicit activity.
I looked at the air date for episode 6.
It was the 24-hour period I was living through.
Episode 6.
Joshua goes into a bookstore to post their internet and to try and make some money.
He does not realize there is a man with a shaved head and a Carhart T-shirt below him pursuing the sci-fi aisle.
The stranger is actually an FBI agent.
The government worker has a microphone and camera attached beneath his shirt.
He is surveying for the perpetrator.
even though he has not singled out who he is looking for yet.
An arrest commences where they tackle, punch, and taser Joshua.
They place him in handcuffs.
My hand shook.
I stood, gripped in Eckhart-toll volume to appear less conspicuous and opened it.
I leaned my head over the railing to stare at the ground floor below me.
A man who matched the description given by the article was there.
His shirt was baggy and hid what I knew to be a gun on his hip.
He held a paperback in his hands.
I pulled down my phone.
I pretended to have a conversation with an imaginary business associated at stocks.
I folded the laptop with my free hand and went down the escalator.
I strolled towards the back where there were stacks of hardcover tomes of history.
I found an unsecured door and walked through it.
I was in the warehouse.
Unopened boxes were stacked all around.
I did not spot any workers in my room.
made a run for a rear entrance. I sprinted down a wide alleyway between the buildings and rows of
motels. I passed an art gallery and liquor store before my heartbeat slowed. Along the way,
I found a closed vegan restaurant called Valenti's Eatery. The place was black on the inside,
but its neon signs still glowed. A picnic table sat on the lawn out front. I stationed myself there.
I opened the laptop again and connected.
connected to their free Wi-Fi without issue.
I scanned the rest of the chronology.
The remaining episodes were all future time periods.
I wiped perspiration away from my forehead as I read the rundown of the next episode.
Episode 7.
Labelled a dark net market operator in the media.
Three of the seven charges thrown at him lead to convictions.
This includes conspiracy to traffic narcotics.
He gets out early out.
after he agrees to cooperate with different agencies.
He becomes a consultant for cybersecurity awareness
and a social engineering expert.
Following a keynote speech given out of town, he comes home.
His girlfriend Olivia and her family have been murdered.
My eyes strained and I felt my breath grow shallower.
Episode 8.
Joshua navigates her house.
The walls had dried blood.
Every corner is vandalized.
Olivia is dead
Her body is over the couch in the living area
Her parents had socks stuffed in their mouths
And deep wounds on their stomachs
Joshua calls the police
He's treated as the number one suspect in the media
For days on end
He is finally cleared
But the psychological damage is too much to bear
I pondered the words
Though I was still young
It is true that Liv meant everything to me
me episode nine Joshua goes a psychiatric ward he stares at the padded walls as though they will
converse with him detectives do visit him with the hopes of gleaning some kind of further information
they tell him they know the aftermath of the massacre he stumbled upon was the work of an active
serial killer the murderer has remained unidentified episode 10 Joshua leaps out the window he breaks his
ankle. An adrenaline dump allows him to move across the field and onto the nearest highway.
He goes out into traffic. A long haul truck careens around him and takes out a line of vehicles.
He goes to the nearest lake, where he weighs his own pockets down with stones. He waits until
nightfall and walks out into the abyss. The last image we see is his hand breaking the surface
of the water. Starlight glints on his skin before his fingers submerged below the surface. His last few
swallows of water, create pockets of bubbles which rise to the top. I absorbed what the rest of
my existence would look like. Four black SUVs pull up and circle around me in the parking lot.
Men in black suits. And the undercover agent from the bookstore ran at me. Even though I did not
resist, they still threw me to the ground. They dislocated my shoulder and kicked me in the jaw a
handful of times before they cuffed me. I did get time reduced in prison after I agreed to cooperate
to catch people like me. After my release date, I have tried to revisit that link without luck. I fail to
understand how that article existed in the first place. I have read how high-level stress can open up
insights and portals into the unknown. I would bank on the latter, though. Sometimes I think it
isn't for me to know. I do not want to give in to what destiny is written for me. My escape from
the bookstore has given me confidence that I can change the outcome of the Dark Web's prophecy,
even if only for a little while, or did I only extend the inevitable for a fraction of time?
Fate, especially in regards to our stories as individuals, is not written in stone. It is malleable,
I tell myself. This positive thought is the only thing.
thing which keeps me going. I should visit Liv's house now. She has not answered my taxes all morning.
And we have never heard from the O.P. ever again. How to access the forbidden wiki. Written by Mr.
Outlaw. We all love Wikipedia, don't we? A seemingly endless source of information. All consolidated.
on a well-formatted, visually pleasing website.
And despite what your teacher might tell you,
I can guarantee you that just about nobody's trying to rewrite history pages with false information.
Nobody has the time for that, nor does anybody care enough to do it.
Beyond research and general curiosity, there's a ton of fun stuff you can do on this site.
For example, there's the Wikipedia game, where you start on,
one topic and then try to click on related hyperlinks until you reach the pre-specified destination
page. Also, did you know that if you go on a Wikipedia page relating to any topic, click on
the first hyperlink and repeat the process, you'll eventually find yourself in a loop that
always directs you back to the page for philosophy? Deep stuff, really. Now, that's all fun and
whatnot, but did you know that there's something else you can do in Wikipedia?
A ritual of sorts?
I recommend proceeding with caution.
There is a certain level of risk involved when pursuing something like this.
Would I recommend it?
Not really.
So why am I talking about it all?
Well, I'll explain later.
This is what you'll need.
A device with internet access,
preferably something mobile,
like a laptop or smartphone.
Make sure that none of your personal information is stored on this device.
If it's a smartphone, take out the SIM card, delete all of your contacts, social media apps, photos, etc.
This is not an optional step.
Internet access, preferably public, like a library or a large, crowded coffee shop.
Obviously, not so feasible right now, so I would wait until the pandemic.
down. You can also just use your home internet, not recommended though. A weapon, bodyguard,
vehicle, optional, but also not at the same time. You'll only need these things for reasons I'll
explain later. But more often than not, you won't be needing these things. Fifteen out of a hundred
times, I'd say. Still, better safe than sorry. Try and pack some heat.
Here's what you'll need to do. Sit down at a library, coffee shop, university campus, or any place with public Wi-Fi.
Start off by visiting an extremely popular wiki page. For example, Michael Jordan, World War II, Elon Musk, Google, etc.
Now here's where you've got to exert a bit of brain power.
You're going to have to traverse from this popular page to an obscure page that has hardly been seen at all in comparison.
But don't go searching up something like creepiest Wikipedia pages or most bizarre Wikipedia pages and try to get there.
If those pages are on a list, then they'll have probably received a lot of traffic.
You'll need to find a page about something truly unknown.
some unheard Romanian folk singer from the 1960s, who only released two songs before dying in their
30s or something. Doing this is harder than you might think. The page truly has to be something
that very few people are aware of or would bother to learn about. Once you found a page that you
deem suitably obscure and unseen, you'll have to click on the Wikipedia homepage, find another
popular topic and repeat the process. Maybe three, four, five times at the very max. But don't worry
about clicking pages endlessly. You'll know that you've done it right when you come across a seemingly
blank page. The wiki symbol and side options will still be there, but the page itself will be
devoid of any pictures or text, except for the title of the page at the top. That is,
It'll say information limit followed by a string of numbers.
Remember that string.
You'll need it later.
Also, don't close the browser.
You've done it.
The ritual has officially begun.
At this point, you'll have to leave the location you accessed it at.
For the love of God, don't just go back into your house.
Get into your car or walk on foot to a remote location without internet access.
You can't just be disconnected from a network.
There should be no networks available to scan for it all.
Make yourself comfortable and open that information limit page again.
Hit refresh. Another page should load up.
Despite the lack of connection, it'll be a login screen with a single prompt.
Enter access point.
Enter the string of numbers you memorized earlier.
earlier except for the last two digits.
Most people who try this just type in the string as it is.
Do not do this or you will be met with a horrible fate.
Pay attention and refrain from effing it up.
Once this is done correctly, you will be directed to something that looks like the Wikipedia homepage, but just a bit different.
Now, I'm not quite sure what kind of site this is or where it,
originates from. A lot of people just call it the forbidden wiki, myself included.
I need to note something of great importance here. If the page that loaded up is not in English
or whatever language that you originally accessed it from, then click off immediately and go home.
You shouldn't try and subject yourself to any of the images that may pop up on the pages you visit.
They aren't meant for you, aren't meant for human perception.
If you glance upon these images, you'll end up with a fate worse than the one that you'd get if you entered the entire string into the prompt.
And that one is bad enough to begin with.
You're curious, but don't take the risk.
But if the page is in the language you recognize, then go ahead and proceed.
You'll notice that the Wikipedia symbol will now be a bit different than the one your first.
familiar with. It might be a different shape, a different color, different symbols perhaps.
More often than not, it'll look more ominous, more sinister, I suppose. You need to keep in mind
that the articles and topics you might stumble across on this site do not exist in our world.
They are not something we need to be worried about. Don't stay up at night thinking about what you'll
see as far as we need to be concerned they're not real from this point you have free range to
explore as you please somewhat be sure not to look at more than around 15 pages spending less than a
minute on each if you linger around forbidden knowledge for too long they will know you're looking
and they'll be sure to look for you as well this is information that you shouldn't be privy to
and they'll make sure it remains that way.
Who are they, exactly?
Anybody who has a solid answer to that question
likely isn't around to divulge it.
Just know that they are not from this plane of reality,
that they possess far more strength
and knowledge that you could ever imagine.
Don't think you'll be able to evade
or, God forbid, try and fight back against them.
Even the most decorated government field agent
who's been through hell and back wouldn't come close to succeeding.
Humans that try and overstep the boundaries of what they're supposed to know
are nothing but pesky bugs that need to be exterminated to them.
Or in the worst case, bugs that need to be made an example out of first.
But don't be too scared, like I said.
Just don't linger on any one page for too long and don't visit too many.
If you do this, you'll more or less be able to bypass.
their detection. But don't think this means you're somehow getting the best of them. You'll need to
read and analyze these forbidden articles for upwards of hours before understanding what they truly
mean and the ramifications of their existence in the multiverse. With less than a minute of
exposure, you'll only be able to gain a surface-level understanding of the subjects at best,
and they hardly care about that. However, there is a way of a way of the subject. You're not a way of
way to legitimately bypass their detection, enabling you to look at the articles for a longer
duration of time. But these involve complicated strategies that require extensive knowledge in both programming
and arcane occult rituals. And even then, the risk is still astronomically high. Again, not recommended.
You might be wondering why you can't just take pictures and look over them afterwards for however long you want.
I suppose you could, but it makes no difference.
They'll still know you're looking and react accordingly.
So why bother bringing any kind of weapon you might ask?
Well, it's not to fight back against them.
Like I said, that's a fruitless effort.
Nah, these weapons are for the lurkers.
Sometimes, if you're unlucky, around 15% of the time, like I said,
your mere digital presence on the Forbidden Wiki will,
alert them to your location. And it's something that can't be helped. But even though the lurkers
aren't in any way affiliated with them, they do have comparable goals. They don't want you looking at
that information either. But unlike them, the lurkers don't want you to have any kind of awareness
of these subjects at all. You won't be able to anticipate them. They might fall out of a tree if you're in
the forest. They might step out of a dark corner if you're an abandoned building. They might crawl
out of the lake. You get the gist of it. You won't see them coming. Some will be more humanoid in
appearance. Some will look more unfamiliar. They will try and kill you in any way possible
should you keep looking at the site. One sure way to guarantee your survival in these situations
is to just close the browser, drop your device, and take off.
If you do this, they'll have no real reason to chase you down.
However, if you do want to keep looking, the lurkers aren't impossible to dispose of.
In fact, if you're armed well and have moderate combat experience, you should be able to wipe them out relatively easily and then continue exploring the site.
Conversely, you could hire somebody else to deal with them on your behalf while you continue browsing.
I'd recommend this option.
Like I said, you can't stay on one page for too long.
And if the lurkers start giving you trouble, then you might be a bit screwed.
I'm not quite sure what the deal is with the lurkers either.
One theory is that they're simply interdimensional agents slash mercenaries hired by a third party
who wants to protect their information from outside her eyes.
But then who is this third party?
And why are they trying to protect the info?
This is why I don't bother with the theorizing.
There's simply too much that we can't know.
Well, now that that's all out of the way,
let me tell you about some of the pages I have come across on the Forbidden Wiki.
Keep in mind that I had under a minute to glance over these.
And despite having a fairly good memory,
I'll only be able to describe so much.
The Great Lakes Incident
The Great Lakes Incident was a naval battle
that took place across all five Great Lakes
on the Canadian U.S. border from 2007 to 2011.
Reports about a mysterious ship rising out of the water
alerted Canadian authorities in late 2010.
The belligerents were of an unusual nature,
able to withstand conventional weaponry,
possessing multiple heads, considered in between amphibian and humanoid,
finally resolved using fire bombs and chemical weapons.
Inhabitants of the Bermuda Triangle.
The beings living on these small, scattered islands are extremely hostile towards human contact,
reported to be able to fly, causing trouble for aircraft traveling through,
believed to have originated from a large underwater volcano.
The Grand Canyon Void
The Grand Canyon Void is a hole in the ground in northwest Arizona
measuring approximately 4.6 meters in diameter.
Hikers reported staring to the hole for hours on end
before they were dragged away from it by park authorities.
An average of 12 hikers were reported to have gone into it
during the month of March,
with their bodies,
turning up in different countries.
Mr. Dream.
Mr. Dream is an Australian DJ from Perth.
His self-proclaimed style is known as infernal trance.
People at his live show have been reported to experience moments of incredible euphoria
before disemboweling each other in the crowd.
The manhunt is ongoing, with his latest show reported to have occurred in June 2019.
at an underground venue in Paris.
The Akroyd Mansion.
The Akroyd Mansion is a large estate located on the outskirts of Houston, Texas,
belonging to the Akroyd family,
famously known for being the founding members of the cult known as the Dawn of the Collapsing Moon.
77 attempts have been made to infiltrate the house,
resulting in 587 officer casualties,
Only one known member of the Akroyd family has been neutralized.
The members are known to conduct rituals involving biological transformations of the human body.
These creatures react in accordance with lunar cycles, exhibiting the most violent tendencies
when the moon appears early in its first quarter.
Channel 51 News
Channel 51 News is a controversial news station that broadcast on
channel 51 between 3 and 4 a.m. The reports presented on the program have been considered
nonsensical and disturbing to the viewers watching. Sometimes the hosts have reported incidents that
have not occurred up until that point, only for these incidents to transpire one week after,
as was the case with the Tokyo Massacre. The location the channel broadcasts out of
remains impossible to pinpoint.
As hard as it may seem to believe,
these are some examples of the more normal pages of the wiki.
Some of the other ones I've seen are downright aft.
The man inside your head.
The man inside your head is an arcane entity that exists within your subconscious.
His intentions are malicious,
and a good portion of your mental capacity is used,
to suppress him from escaping at any given time. Don't let him escape. Eye in the sky.
The eye in the sky is a large eye measuring approximately 4,400 meters in diameter that appears in the
sky every so often, usually during violent storms. When it appears, it is advised not to look at it
under any circumstances. The only exception to this rule is for those who have been forsaken and
absolutely need to. You'll know if you need to. The corner in your basement. The corner in your
basement is that one dark spot in your basement tucked away in that far corner. No matter how much light
you shine on it, it will never illuminate and you'll never know what's lurking within it.
You better figure out what it is soon. The Snowstorm Angel. The Snowstorm Angel is that figure you see in
your backyard during heavy snowstorms, you'll think your eyes are playing a trick on you,
and that your senses are somehow being distorted by the snowfall, but make no mistake. It's there.
People often assume its nature to be benevolent, given its name. That assumption is incorrect.
These kinds of articles were always shorter in length. In fact, what I described above pretty much
represented the entirety of the text. These articles all included pictures as well. I regret
ever looking at any of them. You might be wondering why I'm telling you about the forbidden
wiki at all, along with how to get there. As contradictory as it may seem, this is a
precautionary tale. Most people will read this and believe it to be fake, or simply lack the time,
energy, or motivation to go through with it.
Good. Be one of those people.
But then there's the people who don't fit that bill.
The thrill seekers, so to speak.
These are the ones who will look for it no matter what.
Eventually, they'll find another set of instructions written by somebody else,
but one that might not include a proper warning,
one that doesn't tell the whole story.
I'm here to give you that warning.
Don't do this. I thought I was safe just browsing around. I followed all the rules. I hired
Hitman off the dark web to accompany me in case the lurkers showed up. I always made sure to not
overstand my welcome on any of the pages in order to keep myself hidden from them. In reality,
the forbidden wiki is a strange and complicated place. You may think they've experienced
enough and that you figured out all of its tricks.
But don't underestimate it.
We were never meant to lay our eyes on something like this.
I stumbled upon a particular page the last time I paid a visit to the site.
This was the page that ruined everything.
The title was simply a phone number.
A phone number that contained my area code.
Here was the description.
I remember this one verbatim.
The phone number, the OP listed, is a number that will be calling you in a few days.
You are obligated to answer his call and follow his instructions.
If you refuse, he will come to you.
You will only have two chances.
Here's the thing.
I live in an apartment so I don't have a basement.
I'm pretty sure there's no demonic entity living inside my head.
I have never seen a giant eye in the sky.
I'm in the south, so snowfall is rare and sparse at best.
Up until the point, the stuff I've seen on the wiki had been 100% separate and disconnected from my real life.
I really thought I had no cause for concern, but I did get a call.
A call from a number I really hoped I wouldn't see again.
I let it ring through without picking up.
One last chance.
Why I quit my job on the dark web, written by Forget December.
I used to work on the dark web.
I won't get into how I came into this line of work.
My job simply consisted of tracking down people I'm
was paid to find, kidnapping them and bringing them to a specific location. I never concerned
myself with what would happen to these people afterwards, but from what I understood, they'd usually
be put into the slave trade or held for ransom. After years of doing this kind of work, I eventually
became desensitized to it. To me, it was just another day at the office. The only difference was that
this paid much better.
I should also point out that I did not work alone.
I had a partner that helped me.
For the sake of this story, I'll call him Sam.
Sam and I met through the Dark Web forms about three months after I started my work.
He was much more experienced in kidnapping people from the Dark Web than I was, having done it for several years.
But as he was getting older, he realized the job was too difficult to do on his own anymore.
After talking for a while, we eventually agreed to work together.
I would help him perform the tasks that were more difficult for him to do to his age,
and he would guide me along, as well as bringing me along on more difficult, higher paying jobs,
to reduce the risk of me screwing them up.
After meeting, we quickly realized we were a good match.
It only took a few weeks to get into the groove.
We'd be contacted by our employers via the forums,
given a target, as well as any other important information that would be crucial for the task.
Sam and I would then drive his van to the location to scope it out.
We'd spend whatever time we had getting any information our employer left out,
such as schedules and patterns.
Then we would decide on a date, time, and location,
then secure our target and bring them to a specified drop point given to us by our
employer. We would be paid, then move on to the next job. We did our job like clockwork.
As horrible of a job as it was, we were really good at it. We eventually got to the point where
we could secure a target within a matter of days. We soon were able to live comfortably. Of course,
we weren't stupid enough to grow complacent. After all, the dark web is a dangerous place for
anyone who isn't careful. We were living smoothly, not really caring about the people we are
hurting to do so. All we cared about was our fat wallets and nice homes. But then one day,
everything came crashing down around us. Sam and I had been sent a job by an unnamed employer.
They had instructed us to secure a 19-year-old male who lived in a wealthy neighborhood. This wasn't very
abnormal for us. Plenty of previous employers sent us to secure wealthy targets, usually to ransom off.
What was abnormal were the set of instructions they had given us. They told us that the target had no
security system in his home, but we were not to take this for granted. We were to practice extreme
caution and vigilance when securing the target, and we were to consider him extremely dangerous.
Finally, the strangest instruction they gave us was that we were to administer,
carfenital or a similar drug via tranquilizer darts before securing.
It wasn't the fact that our employer wanted us to tranquilize our target, that was strange.
We had done it to plenty of previous targets before.
What was strange was that they specifically requested we use carfenetanel.
That was the type of tranquilizer they used on elephants.
Even a single dart of this stuff would be enough to kill a human.
human, let alone make it clear that we were not hitman. Sam and I have never killed anyone
in our lives before or after taking on this line of work. We knew there was no way we could use
this stuff to take our target alive. We just assumed our employer didn't really know much
about tranquilizers and wanted it to sound smart by included in a specific kind. I really wish we
had just listened to their instructions. We started studying our target the day after we received
the instructions. The boy was a recluse to say the least. From what we could tell, he lived in
his parents' house, and they were almost never home. He spent pretty much every day indoors,
doing whatever he wanted to pass the time. Reading, playing video games, watching TV,
typical teenager stuff. For the life of us, Sam and I couldn't find a single reason to consider
this kid intimidating, let alone dangerous.
He seemed to live an extremely sheltered life and had more than likely never been in a fight before,
but we had a job to do, and we had to follow the rules we were given the best we could.
On the night we went to extract, we parked our van just outside the kids' home.
Nobody else in the neighborhood was awake, so it would be relatively simple to pull him out once we got him.
Sam sat up front while I laid in the back of the van, aiming the tranquilizer rifle through the back doors.
The way the van was parked gave me a perfect vantage point to the kid's house.
Also, in case you're wondering, I wasn't using the carfenetanil.
Opting to use a weaker drug that wouldn't kill a human being.
I wasn't concerned about our employer being upset their instruction wasn't followed exactly,
unless they were planning on testing the kid's blood once they got them.
There wasn't any way they would know.
After 30 minutes of waiting, the kid appeared in the kitchen.
window. We weren't too far away, so the amount of detail I could see through was very high.
He had a mop of wavy blonde hair, a splash of freckles on his nose and cheeks, and piercing
emerald green eyes. He was pouring himself a glass of water when I tagged him.
His reaction was surprisingly tame. He jumped from surprise as the dart entered his back,
but he didn't scream.
When he pulled it out, he didn't look scared or confused.
If anything, he only looked annoyed,
as if he had just swatted a mosquito that had landed on him.
Then he turned his head and looked right at me.
I had been doing this job for about four years at this point,
and I had seen some freaky stuff.
Sure, most of it was when I was browsing the dark web,
but nevertheless, there was almost nothing that scared me.
The look this kid gave me freaked me out.
It's hard to describe exactly what his expression was as his eyes burned into me,
but the best way I could describe it was an expression that said,
I dare you to come from me.
You won't like what'll happen if you do.
After that, the kid turned off the kitchen light and walked out of view.
The van shook as Sam opened the door and hopped out, walking around to me.
He had a body bag in one hand and a full.
flashlight in the other. All right, partner, you ready to do this? He said calmly.
I don't know if he saw the kid's expression or not, but if he did, he wasn't showing it.
Uh, yeah, let's go, I said, packing away the rifle and grabbing my own flashlight.
Christ, this is a nice house, Sam said absent-mindedly. This is one lucky kid. I know it's not what we
normally do, but maybe we could rob the place while we're here. Yeah?
I didn't respond as we walked towards the house.
I picked the lock to the back door, and we stepped in quietly.
All the lights were off, and the place was dead silent.
First, we went to the kitchen.
We both knew the kid probably wouldn't be there.
Tranclosers took a while to kick in, and if he had walked away after getting tagged,
he'd probably be somewhere else in the house.
We were right.
The kitchen was empty.
without any dishes or food on the counters, say for the half-full glass of water.
We continued searching the house, but it became quickly apparent that something was wrong,
no matter how hard we looked, but we couldn't find the kid anywhere.
He should have fallen unconscious by now, the tranquilizer having long since taken effect,
but he was nowhere to be seen.
Are you sure he hit the damn kid?
Sam hissed me after several minutes of fruitless searching.
I swear, if you screw up this job because of crappy aim, I'm going to kill you.
I know I hit him.
I snapped.
I even saw him pull the dart out.
Well, then where the hell is he?
Sam asked.
He couldn't have gotten that far, not with that treglizer in him.
Our argument was cut short by a noise coming from the other side of the house.
It sounded like multiple thuds in quick succession,
like someone was loudly stomping around.
The noise continued for a minute, moving around the house, before finally stopping.
Sam and I quickly split up to investigate.
We weren't sure about where the noise was coming from, and we didn't want to risk our target gaiting away.
I walked back through the kitchen to the living room.
I was about to move on to the next room when something caught my eye.
On the floor was a pile of fabric.
When I looked closer, I found that it was a pile of clothes.
I recognized it as the clothes the kid was wearing.
By the looks of it, he had stripped off his clothes and left his clothes there.
I had no idea why I did this.
Stripping, unclothed, didn't really give you a tactical advantage one trying to escape a kidnapping.
At least, not one that I could think of.
Taking off your shoes can make your footsteps quieter, but
taking off all your clothes wasn't really necessary. I was trying to think of a good reason
for the guy taking off his clothes when my thoughts were interrupted by a blood-curdling scream
coming from the other side of the house. I instantly recognized the voice as Sam's.
I ran as fast as I could to where the scream came from. When I got there, Sam was lying on the
ground in the hallway. From where I was standing, I couldn't see any more than his upper toilet.
horseau, arms, and head. He was clinging to the wall for dear life, while something in the
hallway that I couldn't see pulled and wrenched at his legs. Whatever it was, it was strong and
determined to pull Sam loose. I bolted forward, desperately trying to help my partner get free.
I didn't even make it halfway before Sam lost his grip and was pulled out of sight. He was
screaming and crying, begging me to save him. When I rounded the corner, whatever had him was
pulling him through the basement door. I only saw Sam for a split second before he was pulled down
the stairs to the basement. I ran to the door, flicking the light switch on. Nothing happened.
Someone had shut off the power to the house. I was caught between praying that this thing was
alone and praying that it wasn't. If it was alone, that meant that we couldn't have to deal with
someone or anything else. But that would also mean that it was smart enough to know to shut off
the power in order to get the upper hand. I was shaken from my thoughts by the realization that Sam
had stopped screaming. I seriously considered making a break for it and leaving him behind.
It was easy to assume he was dead. But even horrible people can make friends.
and as much as I wanted to deny it,
I had formed a bond with Sam over the many years working with him.
I couldn't bring myself to leave him behind.
So, scolding myself or being stupid,
I made my way down the stairs.
When I got to the bottom,
I expected the basement to be silent.
Instead, I heard a distinct, crunching noise
coming from the other end of the room.
I tried to discern what the noise was by sound alone,
but the adrenaline pumping through,
me made it hard to focus. With trembling hands, I clicked on my flashlight and aimed it towards
the noise. I spend every day wishing I had it never done that. A gangly creature was hanging
from an exposed bar jutting from the ceiling of the basement. It appeared human, but only barely.
Its arms were too long, with nails like claws. Its legs and feet had too many joints. Its legs and feet had too
many joints, which allowed it to hang upside down from the ceiling like a bat.
It seemed to have skin that didn't fit its own skeleton, with some areas being stretched
thin, while others were bunched up. As for the crunchy noise, I found out quickly where it came
from. Sam was held limply from the creature's grip. He was clearly dead, with large
chunks of his flesh missing. Every few moments, the creature would pull Sam's body up towards
its mouth and take a large bite out of them, tearing the flesh away and chewing loudly.
It didn't seem to be picky either. It ate whatever part of its mouth found, including bone.
Once it realized it had a flashlight trained on it, it stopped eating Sam's corpse and looked up
at me. Its face was a bloody mess. The features of its face were twisted horribly. Its jaw was so wide open I thought it
disconnected from its skull and its eyes lacked any sense of humanity this thing was a monster and i knew it would
kill me without hesitation if it got the chance i was frozen by fear staring at this thing when
recognition suddenly struck me the monster had horrifying features but the blonde hair freckles and
green eyes made everything fall into place this thing was our talking
target. It was the kid we had been sent here to capture. His features may have been mangled and
warped, but there was no denying that this monstrosity was him. I understood why the tranquilizer
didn't work, and why our employer instructed us to use the drugs they wanted. Why they would
want this thing alive is beyond me. I would sleep much better at night if I knew this thing was
in a deep, deep grave. After what seemed like hours of unbroken eye content, I would, and I would sleep much better,
contact, the monster screeched at me. That was enough to send me sprinting up the stairs. I didn't
stop running, didn't turn around to see if the thing was chasing me. I kept running until I got
to the van, jumped in the driver's seat, and peeled off into the street. I went several miles
over the speed limit, but I didn't care. I wouldn't feel safe until I was miles away from that
beast. After skipping town, I emptied my savings accounts and liquidized everything I owned. After that,
I went through an extensive process to erase any lingering trails. I changed my name,
underwent plastic surgery, and whatever little presence I had on the web, I thoroughly scrubbed clean.
Any evidence of the man I was before was completely gone by the time I finished.
As far as anyone was concerned, I never existed until two months ago.
I had made a promise to myself never to bring up what I saw,
to bury the past as deep as it would go.
But I have been plagued by nightmares ever since seeing that monster,
and I thought that maybe if I warned the world of his existence.
My conscience might be alleviated.
I can't go into detail about where this beast is located.
It's better for everyone if that has kept a secret.
As for whoever it was that wanted to capture the beast,
I haven't heard from them since.
In all honesty, I'm actually glad we didn't succeed in capturing it.
I didn't want to find out what they're planning for the monster where they got it.
So take this as a warning.
People say that the dark web is full of monsters.
I learned that the hard way sometimes.
That could be taken literally.
I searched my parents' names on the dark web.
The videos I found were horrifying.
Written by Poem Scary 5.
When my friend first introduced me to the dark web,
I was amazed at how such an unknown thing
could house some of the most illegal things on earth.
Up until today, I had only used it for a lot of.
learning how to code and commit small crimes.
But after the horrifying videos I just found,
I don't think I'll ever use the dark web again.
I first met my best friend Alex when a little bit after I got into high school.
My parents had moved us to a new town and I had no friends.
It was lonely at first, but I got used to it.
We moved because they were paranoid after many murders occurred in our town.
I thought this was weird.
moving across the country over that, but I let it go.
The reason Alex and I became friends so quickly was because we both had a shared interest in the
internet and everything it had to offer. I was a gaming addict and a Tier 3 Pokemon subscriber,
while he was a much more coder and developer type. Two years later, we were still best friends,
but now we are much older and smarter. Alex had to be more coder and smarter. Alex had to be more coater and developer type.
had discovered the dark web, and he was obsessed with it.
He pretty much spent every hour of the day on it searching through anything you could imagine.
There was nothing wrong with this, but one search he made was the biggest mistake of his entire life.
I remember waking up to dozens of text messages from him one morning.
This wasn't normal.
Alex wasn't a very social person, and it was very hard to get words out of him.
I opened my phone to see what he had messaged me.
Dude, Jack, you have to come over right now. This is important.
Jack, please wake up. This is urgent. Where are you?
These were only some of the messages, but the rest were very similar, with them all being urgent,
and that I needed to go to the house immediately.
My parents were both at work still, so I went over to Alex's house.
When I arrived, there were four cop cars parked in front of his house.
and there were dozens of people and news vans standing out front.
I made my way through the crowd,
and Alex's mother told the police to let me inside.
I could see tears rolling down her cheeks as she opened the door.
What's going on, Mrs. Gonzalez? I asked.
Alex is missing, she said as she started crying.
My heart sank. How could this happen?
He had just texted me earlier that morning.
That was when it hit me.
What if he was trying to warn me?
What if his text messages were related to his disappearance?
Still in shock, I walked up to one of the detectives in the kitchen.
Is Alice going to be okay, I asked?
Of course he is.
He's going to be just fine.
We're going to find him really soon.
One of the detectives responded.
Something about that response was off.
It was like I knew he was wrong.
Deep down, I had this slight feeling that I wasn't going to see him ever again.
I remembered the text messages, however, and pulled out my phone to show it to the detective.
He texted me this morning.
What if this has something to do with him going missing?
I said swiftly.
As he began reading them, his expression quickly changed.
It was like it got worse.
He told me they needed to keep my phone for now to invest.
investigate the text messages and said they would give it back to me later.
I stayed around the house for a while, not just because I missed Alex, but because I wanted to
comfort his parents.
They cared about me a lot, and it hurt to see him like that.
His mother couldn't stop crying.
Eventually, however, I went into Alex's room to see if I could find anything that might
give a clue about why he went missing.
I searched through everything, but I found nothing.
but then I noticed something.
Alex's computer was on, but his monitor was turned off.
I looked for the button to turn it on and hit it.
As the screen lit up, my heart sank.
He was on the dark web.
Obviously, this was normal, but for some reason, he had dozens of different tabs opened.
I knew this part wasn't normal, so I closed the door and locked it,
and began going through them.
At first, it was all pretty usual for him,
but then things started to get weird.
He had a tab open that was an article about a murder
that had happened several years ago.
The article said that it was a woman
who was found dead in her apartment.
Her body was mutilated and covered in acid.
I nearly threw up reading it
and seeing the horrifying pictures of the crime scene.
Not wanting to see any more of it, I switched the tab, just to reveal another article about another murder.
Confused, I quickly went through the rest of the tabs he had opened, and they were all the same thing.
They all were about some type of murder or crime.
The ones that stuck out to me, the most, however, was one about a murder that had happened two years ago.
At first it seemed pretty normal, but as I read further, I realized what it wasn't.
It was. It was about the murder of our neighbor that prompted us to move away. Confusion quickly
swept over me. How did Alex know about this? I never told him about it because to me it wasn't
that important. I figured it must have just been a strange coincidence. But then I saw the last
search he had made on his computer. It was my last name. Horrified and confused, I quickly
stumbled out of his room and back to the living room. Is everything all right?
Alex's mother said, sniffing her away her tears.
Yeah, I just, uh, I just need to go home for dinner, I responded.
On the way home, so many questions and thoughts filled my mind.
Why was he searching up my last name?
Did he think that I had something to do with this?
That must have been why he was texting me so frantically that morning.
If only I could just explain to him that I didn't do anything wrong, but I couldn't.
He was still missing, and I had to find out why.
When I got home, I raced in my room and slammed the bedroom door shut and got on my computer.
I loaded up my browser and turned my VPN on.
I knew what I had to do.
I began typing in the letters of my last name, becoming more nervous after every letter.
When I finally hit Enter, nothing happened.
It was just a blank screen.
Confused, I refreshed the page, but.
But once again, there was nothing.
But why did Alex search this if there was nothing?
I thought to myself.
There must be something out there.
I was getting ready to close the tab, thinking I had ran into a dead end,
when suddenly the page started to load.
It took several minutes, but finally, it loaded to reveal hundreds of videos.
Immediately, I knew what they were.
They were murders.
Why did they show up when he searched my last name?
I considered just stopping right there and turning back,
knowing the horrifying things I would see if I continued on,
but I couldn't.
I knew this had to be why Alex was missing.
So I clicked on the first video.
As it started playing,
I saw what looked like a woman strapped to a chair
in some sort of basement or something.
I quickly recognized who it was.
It was our neighbor from two years ago.
I could tell because she had the same heart-shaped tattoo in her neck.
She sat there for a minute, struggling, panicking, and screaming for someone to help.
However, suddenly, two figures walked into frame.
At first I couldn't tell who they were, but as they turned around to face the camera,
my heart sank.
It was my parents.
My father was holding a knife, while my mother was holding a small scalpel.
They paused for a moment
Before they started
What was the most horrifying five minutes
Of my entire life
I watched as they
Killed her
And listened as she begged for mercy
Screaming the whole time
Blood filled the room
As she took her last breath
When the video ended
It quickly went to another
Revealing the exact same room
and chair I had seen before
I was traumatized by what I had already seen, and I knew I couldn't watch any more of it.
My parents were murderers, and I now knew the real reason we moved away two years ago.
I knew there was something off about that, but I just never could have imagined that this was the horrifying secret that they had been hiding from me.
This whole time I thought Alex was trying to accuse me of being responsible for these murders.
But I was so wrong.
He was trying to warn me.
I scanned through more of the videos, each in the exact same room.
I was just about finished, ready to go to the police so that I could tell them what I had just seen when I noticed something.
There was a new video uploaded today on the website.
I quickly clicked on it and pressed play to reveal what looked like a man this time, strapped to the chair.
He had a sack over his face, and I couldn't tell him.
who it was. Once again, however, I saw my parents walk into the frame. My father walked up to the man
and pulled the sack off of his head. At first, I couldn't tell who it was, but then I realized
who I was looking at. It was Alex. And we have never heard from the OP ever again.
Don't do jobs off the deep web. This all started a week ago.
when I lost my job and was running behind on bills.
I lived in a simple house, and that job was all that held my life together.
After a night of drinking and watching TV, I started looking for a new job.
Most of them looked boring, just nine to five office jobs, but one of them caught my eye.
It was an ad to the side of the screen that read,
High Paying Jobs for Hire.
This isn't just your normal 9 to 5 job.
In desperation, I clicked on the shady ad.
Slowly but surely, a new website loads,
with multiple links to different jobs with different descriptions.
Deep web jobs, such as house sitting,
$100 per shift,
stay in a camera room,
watch all rooms,
keep the house safe,
rules in link.
Seems easy, I thought to myself.
God, do I regret that.
Crop harvest.
$150 per field.
Harvest a field of corn.
Tools are provided.
Rules in link.
Reading down all the jobs, the housing sitting seemed the easiest, so I clicked on the link.
Eager for the $100.
On the screen, a sign-up sheet popped up asking for.
from my email. I typed it in quickly and was met with the message. We hope to see you soon.
Satisfied with that, I hopped in bed and turned off the lights. I start to drift off when I hear a
buzz from my phone. Irritated, I get up and check my phone. A new email, I thought to myself.
I clicked on the notification. Your application has been accepted. Thank you for applying to the
house-sitting job. You will stay at the house from 12 a.m. until 4 a.m. And you must follow these rules.
Your money will arrive at 6 a.m. after your shift. Always, no matter what you hear or see,
stay in the camera room. Either don't bring your phone, or if you do, do not turn it on,
even if you get a notification. I will not email you during your shift. Make sure to bring
something that can play music fairly loud.
Arrive at 12 or a little before 12 if you arrive past 12.
Do not enter the house and send me an email.
From 12 until 1, you are allowed to roam the house, but make sure to be in the upstairs camera room by 1.
Turn all lights off, lock the doors and close the blinds.
From 1 until 2, watch the cameras.
If you see a man in the living room watching TV, turn that camera off until you hear the TV turn off from downstairs.
ignore any sounds you hear around the house.
If you feel anything touch you, stop moving and close your eyes until the feeling goes away.
From two until three, open the blinds in the camera room.
If you hear a voice from the window, do not look at them.
The conversation will be normal and once they say goodbye, it is safe to close the blinds.
This event can happen anytime in the hour.
If you see a woman cooking in the kitchen,
you have a blue button on your desk that turns on a loud sound in the kitchen.
Press and hold that button until the woman disappears.
From 3 until 333, turn on your music device as loud as possible.
Cover your ears.
Close your eyes and ignore any sounds or movements around you.
If the music stops, make any sound of your own to drown out what is happening around you.
After 333, you are allowed to roam the house until 4.
Do not leave before 4 and do not leave more than 5 minutes after 4.
If any rules are not completed correctly,
hide under the desk and do not move until 4.
That is all.
Your shift starts tomorrow night at 471 Peterson Drive.
Sincerely, Mr. Salazar.
I must have read that email 10 times over,
thinking this was a prank or something.
No way do I ask.
actually have to follow these crazy rules, I thought to myself. Entrance to how specific the rules were,
I put my phone back down to charge and went to sleep, still confused by that email. All I could do the
next day was think about what that email said. Man in the living room? Woman in the kitchen?
Conversation with a person in the window? It all seemed too crazy to be true, but I couldn't help but to
find myself 15 minutes before 12 with an old iPod in my pocket standing at 471 Peterson Drive.
I entered the house. It had a sort of old but still livable vibe to it. The house was dusty,
but the kitchen and living room were spotless. I made my way upstairs and at the end of a long
hallway stood the camera room. It was barren and small, with nothing but a chair,
a camera monitor, and a couple windows in it.
I sat down in the chair.
Man, I hope this is worth it.
It wasn't.
Looking at the computer's clock, it's 1203.
I have one hour to look around the house.
First, I head back to the living room,
close blinds, locked doors, and turn lights off.
Repeat that for all rooms, and at 1256 I was back to the camera room.
As soon as it hit one, I felt a sudden dread, telling me to get up and leave right now.
I turned on all the cameras and, on the back of my neck, it felt as if a feather was resting on it.
I froze.
Keep calm, Chris.
Keep calm.
I closed my eyes as I remembered the rules.
It felt like hours, that feather tickling the back of my neck, but I held out, not moving and keeping my eyes closed.
The feather went away.
I opened my eyes, relieved, and heard behind me slow coordinated footsteps.
I whipped around.
The footsteps went away, and a slow chuckle came from the camera speaker.
The man was watching TV.
The TV was lit up with some cooking show, and the man was chuckling while watching the show.
I turned that camera off, and I hoped I had done it fast enough.
The sound from the TV echoed up the stairs, chilling me to the bone.
What the hell is this place I thought to myself?
Feeling queasy?
And how is it only 120?
The next 20 minutes were creepy as can be.
Unknown sounds bounced around the house.
The man laughing at the TV, watching all the cameras, until these silence hit me hard.
The TV had been turned off.
And dread had fell upon me.
once again. The noise from the TV had been a constant for the past 20 minutes, but now that it was
off, the silence felt threatening. I slowly turned on the camera and found the room to be empty.
I sighed in relief. For what felt like an eternity, my eyes darted around the cameras,
on edge, until the clock made a quiet beep, and it turned two. I froze from my chair and opened the
revealing the pitch black lawn outside.
I sat back down as the clanging of pots and pans
ringed in my ears.
I looked down at the blue button beside the monitor.
Then at the lady,
now cooking black eggs in the kitchen.
And as I was about to press the button,
Hi, Chris.
A woman's voice came from the window.
I froze, gluing my eyes to the monitor,
forcing myself not to look at the window.
Hi. How was your day? My voice was shaky. It was obvious that I was scared.
Well, I was just strolling around the neighborhood, saw you were here, and I just wanted to say hi.
The window she was talking to me through was high enough up the ground to need a large ladder to get to.
How was your day?
My day was... It was fine. Thanks.
The woman in the kitchen started to get louder.
Okay, well, I have to go.
It was nice to meet you.
It was nice to meet you too.
Bye.
I wanted to get up.
I wanted to just close the blinds and never hear that voice again.
But something just told me that I should not get up.
Wow.
You're a smart one.
I thought that would get you.
Hmm.
Maybe next time.
Goodbye.
I waited a few seconds.
The last thing I wanted to see was the face of the lady talking to me.
So I waited until I was sure she wasn't there anymore.
Then closed the blinds.
Once that ordeal was over, I realized that the lady in the kitchen was gone,
even though I never pressed a button.
Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I thought.
I had broken one of the rules, and it was only 2.30.
Now I'm sitting under the desk, typing this out on my eye,
iPod, and there's a lady with a ragged apron on, walking in circles around the room.
I'm scared to make any noise, so please, if you see an ad for dark web jobs, don't click it.
Update. It's 430 now. I made it out of the house and I'm safe. My left leg is hurt a little,
but I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you what happened. The lady from the kitchen walked
around the room, making soft groans and drooling everywhere. I kept as silent as I could,
freezing time she turned in my direction. A small beep came from on the desk, notifying me that
it had turned three. The lady in my room melted into the floorboards, screaming a scream of the
utmost agony and pain. What I was supposed to do at this point was turn on my music on my iPod,
closed my eyes and cover my ears.
But hiding under the desk, I didn't know if I still had to do that.
I waited and waited, and silence was all I could find,
until the walls and floors of the house started to contort.
The house shifted and moved into what looked like faces popping out of the walls.
The only description of the sound I can think of is a scream of terror itself.
I couldn't take it anymore.
My mind told me to get up, to run,
to get out as fast as I can, but I knew I couldn't.
I closed my eyes and turned the music on.
The screams were drowned out, and it seemed almost calming.
But in the back of my mind, I knew what was happening around me.
The music blared loudly, and my eyes stayed glued shut.
Then the music turned off.
I opened my eyes, and the house was normal again.
Shakily, I stood up and looked at the clock.
334.
I got back under the desk and laid there, terrified.
But nothing happened and I was sitting there for 35 minutes until...
Yeah, we make things just for college life.
Like the Rosenmandel blackout curtains in gray.
They say you can't put a price on sleep, but we did for the low low, low price of 4999.
Why are you in my room?
Shh, go back to sleep.
You have a peak exam tomorrow.
Shop back to school and IKEA.
The final beep from the clock came, telling me I could finally leave.
I got up, walked down the hallway, down the stairs to the front door, and finally, the sweet, cool air of the night hit my face.
And in that moment, I felt a relief that was almost euphoric.
I walked home and picked up my phone.
but when I went to email Mr. Salazar, his email was gone.
The website was gone, and there was no trace of him at all.
I tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't get the faces out of my head.
The look they had.
Can't be explained.
I don't know if I'm going to get my money, but at this point, I don't care.
I just want to never go back to that house again.
Update.
At 6 o'clock now, a package somehow appeared at my door, and inside was $80 in a letter.
The letter is as follows.
You can't escape.
Hello again, Chris.
I see that you showed up for your shift this morning.
I appreciate that, but during your shift, you broke one of the rules.
I've taken $20 off your pay because of that.
I'm pretty sure you're already aware, but I can tell.
You don't want to go back.
Most people don't.
And I'm here to say, you can't escape.
By entering that house, you pretty much signed your soul away.
No matter what you do, you will always be at that house by 12.
That is all, sincerely, Mr. Salazar.
Part 2.
My sleeve last night was horrible.
I couldn't stop thinking about what happened on my first shift.
the whole day I stayed in bed, terrified for midnight to come.
But it had to come eventually.
1157. I begged that nothing would happen to me.
1158. I put my iPod in the trash.
1159. I lay in bed and close my eyes.
I feel pressure on my feet, and my soft bed disappears from under me.
I open my eyes and find my eyes.
myself inside that cursed house again with my iPod and a printed paper of the rules in my hand what how is this
possible i think to myself i ran to the door slamming my fists against it wanting a way out but to no avail i could not
leave i defeatedly walked up the stairs and sat in the camera room chair i sat there crying for an hour
until one came, and with it, came the man laughing to the TV.
I turned the camera off and continued to sob, not caring about these sounds around me.
But then I felt a hand wrap around my neck.
I froze, closed my eyes, and tried to control myself.
The grip closed tighter and tighter into like I could barely breathe.
Then it finally left me alone.
I gasped for air and grabbed the printed paper of rules given to me at the start of my shift.
I looked at the printed sheet of rules and at the bottom was a handwritten message from Mr. Salazar himself.
Good luck is all that was written.
I looked back up at the cameras and composed myself.
Okay, Chris, you can do this.
You've already been here once.
Pull it together.
I listened.
Not hearing the TV anymore.
I turned the camera on and the clock let out a small beep.
It had turned too.
I stood up to open the blinds but hesitated.
Did I really want to talk to her again?
Regardless, I pushed the thought away
and opened the blinds to be met with a face
only insane people would call a woman.
It looked as if she hadn't eaten once in her life.
Her skin looked like it was airtight to her bones
and she had no meat in her body.
Her smile was literally ear to ear.
Her skin sagged down at least two feet, and her eye sockets had large, black, bloodshot eyes with tiny, beady, yellow pupils.
Hello again, Chris.
I closed the blinds as quickly as I could and went to hide under the desk.
But the desk is just a block, no space to hide under.
I don't know what to do.
I hear slow footsteps coming up the stairs.
Oh God.
The door knob is turning.
The door is locked.
Oh, thank God.
I remember to lock it.
She is screeching from behind the door.
She's slamming her hands on it.
It's only a matter of time until she breaks down the whole door.
What do I do?
And then another post gets posted titled,
I applied for a deep web job.
I don't think I'm the first.
Hi, my name is Jeremy.
Recently, I got laid off by my horrible boss.
Found a website for Deep Web Jobs and applied for house sitting.
I also recently read Chris's shifts,
and I think we applied for the same job.
Mr. Salazar emailed me something along the same lines.
I'll paste his email here.
Your application has been accepted.
Thank you for applying to the same.
house-sitting job. You will stay at the house from 12 a.m. until 4 a.m. And you must follow these
rules. Your money will arrive at 6 a.m. after your shift. Always, no matter what you see or hear,
stay in the bedroom. Either don't bring your phone or if you do, do not turn it on,
even if you get a notification. I will not email you during your shift. Arrive at 12 or a little
before 12. If you arrive past 12, do not enter the house and send me an email. From 12 until 1,
you are allowed to roam the house, but make sure to be in the upstairs bedroom by 1. Turn all the
lights off, lock the doors, and close the blinds. This can happen any time during the night.
If you hear loud music from the camera room, put on the hazmat suit we have provided. Enter the
camera room, walk to the security desk, do not interact with the security guard, and turn off the
music from the iPod on the desk. Make sure to do this fairly quickly. From one until two,
clean up all clothes in the bedroom and put them up in the closet. If any clothes have bloodstains,
put them in the trash quickly. Make the bed. If there are more than three sheets, throw away any
extra. If you hear a knock at the window, hide under the bed until the entity has entered and left
the room. From two until three, put the hazmat suit back on and walk into the downstairs area.
If there is a man watching TV, turn the TV off and ignore what the man does. If there is a woman
cooking in the kitchen, then turn off the stove and ignore what she does. There is a bathroom
connected to the bedroom. If you hear the shower turn on, knock on the door three times.
No more, no less.
If the showering stops, it was done correctly.
From 3 until 333, lay in bed and close your eyes.
Do not fall asleep.
Make sure to pull the blankets up to your neck and make sure they stay there.
From 3.34 until 4, your shift is complete and you are allowed to roam the house until 4.
Do not leave before 4 and do not leave more than 5 minutes after 4.
That is all.
Your shift starts tomorrow night at 471 Peterson Drive.
Sincerely, Mr. Salazar.
I don't know what this means, but having read Chris's posts,
I think I'm ready and I can survive.
I'm going to type this out after my shift is over.
If I survive.
I entered the house and looked around, just as Chris had said.
It looked old, but you could live.
in it just fine. The kitchen and living room were in pristine condition and looked like they were
bought yesterday. I walked up the stairs, walked down the hallway, and turned right just before the
camera room, entering the bedroom. The room had a king-size bed in it, with clothes and bed sheets
scattered around the room. There was a door off to the side of the room, which I assumed was to
the bathroom. The nightstand next to the bed held a small digital clock and a printed paper
of the instructions. The clock gave a small beep signaling my time it started. I bent down and
picked up a couple pieces of clothes, varying from bras to underwear to hats. I put them up in the
closet and started to get bored until I found a gray-striped shirt with a large crimson stain on it.
I immediately threw it in the large garbage can in the corner of the room and continued with my work.
I was picking up the last piece of clothes, ready to make the bed,
when I heard five slow, hard knocks on the window across from the bed.
My blood ran cold.
I dropped the clothing I was holding and crawled through to the small space under the bed.
It was silent until the door slammed open.
and a woman, fitting the description Chris gave, entered the room.
I know you're in here. You can't escape. I'll find you eventually.
I held my breath for as long as I could. She started to get angry and slammed her frail hands on the nearest things around her.
She screamed in anger, wanting only to trap me in this house. Eventually, she left and slammed the door behind her.
I got up out from under the bed, quickly collected the sheets and made the bed, making sure to throw away the extra two sheets.
Only 245, I thought.
Then came the loud music from the room next door.
I calmly but scaredly put on the hazmat suit and opened the door.
I cautiously stepped out into the hallway and saw down the stairs a man watching TV.
I opened the door to the camera room slowly and saw a man, if you can even call it that, sitting in the chair.
He had rotten, dead skin, and sat with such a hunch.
His back was almost at a 90-degree angle.
I walked over to the desk and spotted the iPod.
Keep calm, Chris.
Keep calm.
The guard repeated to himself.
I gave him a look of sympathy
as he stared up at me with terrified eyes.
I grabbed the iPod and turned the music off.
Chris covered his eyes and kept repeating that same phrase.
I walked back to the bedroom.
Just in time for the clock to give a small beep and turn two o'clock.
Let's be honest.
Chris is dead.
The house has trapped his soul and forced him to work there for eternity.
The reason I signed him,
up was to find a way to release these trap souls. And I think that the entity has something to do
with all of this. I kept the hazmat suit on and walked down the stairs. The man was sitting on the
couch and watching a cooking show on the TV. I walked over and the man. He had polished hair,
combed over to the side like he was a rich person. He had a nice suit and a tie on and nice
pants, but his face looked like it had been rotting for years. The bone was showing in more than three
places, and I'm pretty sure I saw a glob of skin fall from his face. His laughs were deep and hoarse,
like he didn't have any vocal cords. I turned the TV off, and the man froze mid-lath,
then melted into the couch seams. I shuddered and returned to my place upstairs,
I entered and took about 10 minutes to take the hazmat suit off, only to be met with the sound of a warm shower.
I came closer to the bathroom door and put my ear against it.
I heard a lady humming lightly.
Knock, knock, knock, knock.
The humming and water stopped immediately after the third knock.
It felt unsettling how quickly it became silent, but fainted off in the distance.
I heard sizzling eggs.
I quickly put the hazmat suit on and rushed down the stairs.
The woman was cooking up black eggs.
She was like the man watching TV.
Her apron and hat were pristine, spotless, but her skin was, although in better shape than the man's, rotting.
I reached for the oven dial, but stopped.
Please, please, keep it on, please.
The woman repeated with a soft voice.
Regardless, I turned the...
dial to zero. The woman melted and I returned back to my bedroom. I thought this was going to be
easy. But now I know what Chris felt. It is insanely scary being inside the house. 258, I pulled the bed
sheets up. 259, I get into the bed. Three o'clock, I close my eyes and get comfortable. The bed
is surprisingly soft, and I feel as if I could fall asleep, even if a train was running right next to
me. I thought about everything else I had seen that night and that scared me awake for a few minutes,
but it was a constant struggle to stay awake and conscious. But I knew I would become like Chris if I fell
asleep. Beep. Finally, the clock beeped and the bed felt like it became stone, and I climbed out
confused. I now had free time to walk around the house until four. I checked in the camera room and
Chris had disappeared. I waited patiently for four.
to come and when it did, I went home and started plotting a plan. Like many of you have suggested to
Chris, tomorrow I'm going to bring a knife and a lighter. I'm going to try to stab and kill the
entity and hopefully I can survive. I will update again tomorrow. Wish me luck. Oh Jesus,
the plan did not work as planned. I'm hurt, but I survived. Let me tell you what happened.
Just because many of you were asking, I went back during the day, but the house wasn't there.
Like many of you were posed, I took with me a bear trap and a single large knife.
I entered the house and looked around.
It looked the same and I placed the bear trap right outside the bedroom door.
Again, like you guys suggested, I tried unplugging the TV before the man appears,
but when I went to pull it out, it was like the cable was part of the wall.
It was completely stuck and I couldn't manage something.
unplug it. The night started and it went as normal as it could, but while I was in the middle of
cleaning up the clothes, I noticed. The bed had no hiding space under it. I had to come up with a new
plan on the spot. My plan was while I was sleeping from 3 to 333, and the entity was above me.
I would take my knife and stab her. But now it looked like I wouldn't even make it to then.
Knock, knock, knock, knock. The entity's sense.
signals it's coming and I panic.
Where would I hide?
I grabbed the knife and crawled to a small space behind the door.
I would have to stab her as she came in or was hit by the trap.
Step.
The entity comes closer.
Step.
I tighten my grip on the knife.
Step.
A bead of sweat drops down my face.
Clang.
I hear the sound of the bear trap closing in a high-pitched demonic scream after it.
I open the door and with all of my might swing at the entity in front of me.
The knife slides clean into one of the entity's eyes and black goo starts spurting from the wound.
The entity screams revealing at least 100 sets of tiny sharp teeth.
It clenches my hand in its mouth and I scream out in pain.
Me and the entity fall over on top of each other and roll around for a while.
I got scratched a couple of times and I stabbed her a couple of times.
but finally I pinned her down and stabbed until I knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was dead.
I stood up, my arm bleeding profusely, and used a piece of clothing to wrap my wound.
I didn't care about the rules anymore.
I just killed the thing running this place.
I sat down on the bed and rested for a few moments.
Throughout the rest of the night, nothing happened.
And just to make sure, I stayed until four and left then.
When I arrived at my house, there was a...
letter stable to the door written by mr salazar i will rewrite what he said here wow i have to say that i'm impressed
you managed to kill my best worker it seems that you have already figured out my plan the workers have
normal shifts the first day then on the second day their safe place is taken away but you you made it work
come back to the house tomorrow as if it was a normal shift and we can discuss a reward that is all sincerely mr salazar i don't know what he will do or give me but i don't think i have an option to not go wish me luck
and then there was a final post titled i got a deep web job today i became the best work
Now, throughout my two shifts, I was very calm, but after reading that letter, I was more than a little scared.
I spent the day preparing, hidden knife, small gun, body armor under my clothes.
I was going to be ready for whatever he was going to do.
I arrive at the house and enter as normal.
The inside of the house is completely different.
It's no longer a house, but a chamber.
a tunnel down into the earth.
I slowly walked down the stairs, ready to pull out my gun.
I reached the final step and arrive in a blue room with many monitors,
and a large man sitting in a chair.
Hello, Jeremy.
I am Mr. Salazar.
The man turned his chair around and I got a good look at him.
He had a black goatee, balding black hair.
in a dark suit on.
Um, hi, what is this place?
This is my viewing chamber.
I spend all my time here watching the house, monitoring my workers.
He had a deep, scary voice.
Well, what happened to the house after I killed that thing?
Once the house lost its best worker,
the other workers suspended their existence and the house will do nothing tonight.
But if it doesn't have a new worker, by tomorrow then, the workers are released from the
house's grip and they will destroy and kill anything they come across.
So, why are you doing this?
Because, Jeremy, it is simply the only way to contain these workers.
Then, who is going to be the next best worker?
Well, Jeremy, I'm looking right at them.
his mouth twisted into a sinister grin
me yes you
killing my best worker and touching that black liquid caused a transformation to begin
in the next day you will see your muscles and meat disappearing
your skin will become stuck to your bones
your face will sag
your eyes will turn black and yellow your teeth will fall out
and you will grow an unsatiable desire to return to this house.
What?
I'm going to become like that thing?
Unfortunately for you, yes.
You can leave now if you'd like, but it is inevitable.
I stood in disbelief for a few moments.
Was I really going to become that thing?
I turned around and ran out of the door.
When I came out of the door,
I was standing in front of my house and behind me the house disappeared.
It's been a few hours.
I'm noticing that I'm losing my muscles and I have a really strong feeling to go back to that cursed house.
My eyes have turned a dark gray and I don't think I can stay away from the house for much longer.
I know that I can't stop what's happening to me.
All I can do is just go back to that house.
Wish me luck.
And we have never heard from the O.P. Ever again.
