The Reddit Bureau of Investigation.
An interesting subreddit I stumbled upon a few days ago, and I thought it'd make for a great video.
If you don't know what R-slash RBI is, it's a subreddit that uses the power of Reddit to solve
crimes and mystery, so people post their own weird experiences that need solving, and the community
helps try and solve it.
Super interesting, and I think I'll make for a great video.
And I'm not a police officer or FBI agent, but I'll be giving my advice, and what I think
best for the OP to do. So it'll be a fun interactive video with my personal opinions and I'm excited
to get into it. And before we get into it, I just want to thank you so much for stopping by and
watching this video. And before we get into it, please consider liking the video and
subscribing to the channel. It's the channel's goal to be at 500,000 subscribers, so please subscribe.
And all right, anyways, without further ado, I'm really excited to get into some disturbing
R-slash-R-B-B-I stories.
Is my landlord watching me?
Hello, I am new to rat it, and after debating for a bit, I decided to make this account to maybe get some input of what to do.
English is my second language, so I apologize for any typos.
I'm a 26 female, living alone for the first time.
My landlord has always felt a bit off to me.
He's a man in his late 40s and has never been holding back with comments about the way I look, etc.
When I moved in, he was very clear about me, not touching the two fire alarms in my bedroom and hallway.
He justified it by saying they were directly connected with the fire department, and if I would try to do anything to them, I would cause an alarm.
The alarm in my bedroom has always made me feel weird.
It makes a lot of noises, especially at night, almost sounding like a remote-controlled car, and sometimes making a very muffled beeping sound.
I brought it up to him once and he said it was nothing, and if it should make more problems, I should call him.
But other things kept happening, and I just more and more felt like something was off.
But at the same time, people kept telling me I was overthinking it and scared, since it was my first time living alone.
The first thing that felt off to me was, as I was renovating to move in, I grabbed a wrong shade of the color I wanted from my bedroom,
and it ended up looking a bit too bright on the wall I tested it on.
A few days later, during a phone call, he snapped at my parents about how horrible the pink was I was using in my bedroom,
and if I was crazy, I had not let them inside my place, so I was very confused.
But kind of brushed it off as me walking around in paint-covered clothing, but things got
weird after that.
During January last year, I spent a day at my parents, and when I came back, something felt
off.
I couldn't pinpoint it, and no one was inside my apartment, but I realized, after walking
into my bedroom a second time, one of the drawers under my bed was pulled out, and I don't
remember ever touching it.
Again, I brushed it off mainly because my parents told me I probably just forgot and I kind of
ended up feeling a shame for even bringing it up.
Months later during the summer, I took part in a gaming night on a friend's Discord server.
When I finally hopped off to go to bed at 4 a.m., I came into my bedroom to see my underwear
drawers being open.
I panicked and called my mom because she lived close by and I wasn't sure if someone was still
in the apartment.
After that, I installed a door chain and got an alarm for the time.
I spent at home. I suspected my landlord had a second key and now probably wasn't able to get inside
anymore, but that didn't cover the time when I'm not home. Sometimes when I come back, furniture in my
bedroom is slightly moved, but at this point my family keeps telling me I just forgot I moved it,
that I am too ashamed to keep bringing it up. I know I sound insane, but is it possible to have cameras
installed in the fire alarms? Could I call fire department in their non-emergency number just asking
if they can take a look at it because of the weird noises.
I really just want my peaceful life back.
Constantly knowing someone might have been in here
in the past while I slept is really creeping me out
and making me want to cry.
Do you have any advice on what I should do?
Edit.
I never expected so many responses,
so I will try to answer some questions here.
First of all, my parents love and support me.
I was just on a call with my mom updating her.
I don't think she intended to gas,
me at all. They are in no contact with my landlord. My mom is reasonably upset right now and probably
would go have a talk with him right now if she could. My landlord lives in another city. He just owns a
bunch of apartments here, but he is here multiple times a week. I live in Germany so any U.S. law
stuff doesn't really apply. Sorry for not clarified sooner. My plan of action right now is I'm going to
call the fire department tomorrow morning to have them come by. And I have a family friend come by on
Monday to put in new locks. I want to check the alarms, but I'm not very tall. I don't have a ladder
here right now, so I cannot rip them off, even though I would love to. Also, sorry if I'm not responding
to all the DMs and private chat offers. This is a lot to take in. I promise I will keep you all
updated. Thank you for all your kind words. Update March 17th. Good morning, and thank you to everyone
giving their input and sending messages to me. This morning has been very stressful, so I apologize
if I could not get back to your DMs.
I had a call with the fire department and they told me the alarm is not connected to them
in any way, shape, or form and that it is extremely fishy that one tinkered with is the bedroom
one.
I also completely forgot I do have a storage room that has an alarm that looks identical to the one
in the hallway.
They told me to ask around to my friends and family if anyone knows a bit about electricity
and have them come by to take it off and take a look inside.
They said it's very likely some kind of foul play happened here, disregarding the
a camera problem, there's still a fire alarm someone just messed with and didn't fix.
My mom's best friend is an electrician and I will try to reach him today to ask if he can come
by ASAP.
Otherwise, I know he's going to be around on Monday, so I might have to wait a bit longer.
Either way, I will keep you updated.
Edit.
Friend is going to stop by on Monday, so likely no update until then.
It was advice not to rip them off in case there is anything wrong about it.
Should I feel unsafe at any point, I can crash at my parents or.
my sisters. Edit, I just want to clarify for those who are confused why I don't just rip it off.
It belongs to my landlord. If it's true what one of the posters said, and it is put up wrongly,
my landlord can get in trouble for that, but so can I for ripping it off. I would have to pay both
for a new smoke detector and a person to put it up, and I don't have the money to risk doing that.
I'm okay. Nothing weird has happened since then, and I'm pretty sure I will have more answers
until then. The only other thing that I'm already doing anyway was that a neighbor and I were talking,
while the topic of safety came up, she just said, you should change your locks. Without really
knowing anything that happened to me here, which is not an odd thing to say, but just very specific.
Update, 23rd of March. Sorry for not updating instantly. Today was very stressful. While as far as I know,
because of my mom's friend, my smoke detector is okay right now, but there's other stuff that came up.
I don't know and can't say more about what is going on right now.
I'm not liked well known about what I would be able to say, but I'd rather not risk it,
since there is an ongoing police investigation.
All in all, I have made choices to keep my safety insured for now.
Sorry for not being able to give some of you the closure they might want to hear.
Maybe one day I might be able to share the full story of what happened.
Until then, to all of you thank you so much.
you help me gain the confidence to have things looked at and to make my safety my priority.
I hope things are going to be good for all of you in these crazy times.
Again, thank you.
I wish you all the best.
And all right, this one leaves us on a cliffhanger, a decent amount to go off of, but definitely
something happened.
I mean, police investigation going on, there's definitely something sucks going on.
And whether or not the fire alarm did have a camera in it, which it most likely did if I had to guess,
there's definitely something weird going on with the landlord.
I mean, her seeing her underwear drawer opened multiple times it sounds like, that's really weird.
And just her sensing something's off and just having that gut feeling that something's off.
There's definitely something weird.
So the police investigation, I mean, she did everything right.
This one, I can't really give any advice on or say what I would do or anything because she did it.
She went to the police.
She asked, she called the electrician friend, and she got the fire line looked at.
And most likely there was something sucks going on with that.
And if I had to guess, it was the landlord.
But I could be wrong.
Maybe it's someone else.
It could totally be something else, which would be weird.
But at the beginning, the landlord did say,
don't mess with fire alarms, which is pretty weird.
So most likely it's the landlord.
But whoever keeps going through her underwear drawer or her closets and stuff,
that's really weird because someone sneaking into her house without her knowing is interesting.
And I really wish there was an update, which there isn't.
So, interesting.
I wonder how it panned out.
Lady buys $1 to $7,000 in Apple gift cards with cash every week.
I know the immediate thought is she's being scammed,
but I don't think that's the case.
She's 30 to 40 and seems fully with it mentally.
We've openly talked about gift cards scams with her,
and her responses make me believe she isn't being scammed.
If anything, her demeanor comes off more like she could be the,
one doing something nefarious. She comes in every single week, sometimes multiple times a week,
paying in fresh $100 bills from the bank. She only ever buys Apple gift cards. She usually spends
about $2,000 to $5K, but she has gone as high as $7,000 in one day. This is in Canada, in case it
matters. When asked, she usually says she does online gambling, and this is somehow related to her
winnings, but she's also claimed they were gifts once.
Personally, I suspect it's related to money laundering or tax evasion somehow.
Open to hearing any theories.
All right, let's get into Edit 1.
Edit 1. Looks like the majority think it's likely she's being scammed.
I'll be sure next time she stops in that we sit her down and talk more.
I'm hoping she will to show some kind of proof of her online gambling explanation or something like that.
I'll speak with my manager and see if we can bar her from buying any more until she provides that.
If anything else comes up, I'll edit it onto this post.
Thanks everyone for your input.
To expand on her demeanor, here's a little description in case it helps.
She carries herself with a professional attitude.
She isn't interested in small talk or chatting, but she addresses our questions slash concerns politely.
Her body language is confident and calm, definitely not anxious whatsoever.
The only real emotion I see her display is mild annoyance when there's a delay in the process.
When we talked about gift card scams with her in the past, she seemed indifferent and her demeanor didn't change.
I saw zero anxiety, sheepishness, agitation, defensiveness, etc.
It's hard to put into words, but I really get the vibe that she's in the know with this situation.
If that makes any sense.
The bills are legitimate every time, not counterfeits.
She started coming in early slash mid-December and has been in at least once a week consistently since.
And okay, to be honest, I kind of believe her.
or I have another theory, but let's get into that.
I think she could be an online gambler,
but at the same time, why would you need Apple gift cards?
I think that's the main gift card that they said she used.
Why would you need just Apple gift cards to keep gambling?
I feel like, I don't know gambling sites or any sort of online gambling sites that well,
but I feel like you just, you know, wire money from your bank account to it
or transfer it somehow directly instead of buying $7,000 in cash into gift.
cards, which is really weird. But I have an idea, and I think she is being scammed, but she just
doesn't know it. A lot of people date people online, and a lot of these people they are dating,
in quotes, are just scammers, and they need money for this and that, or they need money to
travel to see you, or they need money to buy this, buy that. And so maybe she, like, met someone
online, and they, she thinks she's dating him or her or whatever. And she's, she's,
she needs money or he needs money to go and see her or thousands of dollars to do this or do that.
But at the same time, that's a lot of money.
In this post, it said she spent thousands and thousands and thousands.
And sure, she could be buying out and buying her, quote, partner or, yeah, love her,
more money and more money and just letting them buy things.
But at the same time, that's a lot.
And I don't know if she would keep going.
and also the lady didn't say she was, you know, I don't know, dating someone, but maybe she didn't want to admit it.
But I think the online gambling and the fake dating person or the scammer is a pretty good option.
And I think those two theories might be legit, but I don't know, what do you think down below?
When should I tell the police my housemate could be missing?
I messaged my housemate to ask if she's going to feed the cats or if I should come home to do it.
And she didn't reply, so I came home.
her car is here her cigarettes and phone are gone she's not answering calls or messages and she's nowhere in the house
i've never known her to go on a walk or not be reliable and communicative about things like feeding the cats
how long should i wait to report this because it's very out of character but i don't want to jump the gun
if she's just out with a friend update i've literally just opened my eyes i'm very tired and sort of
scanning through comments that are a mix of helpful and calling me stupid i just quickly want to clarify that
Although my housemate is autistic, she is high functioning and independent and wouldn't just be getting in danger when she's out and about.
I'll do a proper update once I'm fully awake.
Final update.
I got out of bed and checked her room.
She's home.
I asked her about it.
She said she got picked up by one of her cousins to go to a family thing.
She seems kind of out of it.
So I'm not sure if she's telling the truth, but in any case she's safe.
Thank you to the people who are helpful.
I'm glad this ended well.
I found a stream of a camera that's being used to peep into people's windows.
I found this stream on AynSec Cam. The camera is being actively monitored and controlled,
with someone deliberately finding lit up windows and zooming into spy on people inside of a large apartment complex.
They are particularly focused on one window that seems to be the bedroom of a younger woman.
I track the stream to a latitude and longitude outside Doyle's stand.
down Pennsylvania, United States, right outside of the airport. But after watching the stream for a bit
and seeing it zoom out, I noticed it quickly pan over a newly opened White Castle next door
to a StarCare pharmacy directly in front of the building that's being peeped on. After doing some digging
on Google Maps, I discovered that this apartment complex is located in Jamaica, New York. And the person
peeping on people is almost certainly located in the apartments across the way. And I'm not going to
mentioned the apartment complex, but I was thinking about seeing if I could find a neighborhood
group for the apartment complex to let people know, even if that sounds kind of extra.
Is there anything else that can be done?
And first off, this is interesting.
I sure hope they get this fixed up, but what was this guy doing searching through people's
cameras?
I don't know.
I'm not going to assume OP if anything.
if they find this post or this video, comment what you're doing down below.
But I don't know why they found this stream, but it's good they did a little bit digging.
But to be honest, it's weird no matter what because that's really weird that they're looking
at people through windows and zooming in and out.
And just especially a younger woman, that's really weird.
So hopefully this gets solved and the original poster finds, you know, more information
or calls the police or tells the apartment.
complex or something and they get this figured out. My friend hasn't been seen in months,
and I'm suspicious that his girlfriend might be impersonating him. This is one of my closest
childhood friends whom I haven't seen in about six months due to his general inability to respond
to any form of communication. We now live in different states. My messages on several different
apps have gone unanswered since last summer, but I figured he had switched to a new number,
as he often does and didn't worry about it too much.
About a week ago, I was contacted by my friend's apparent girlfriend over Facebook.
I didn't even know they were dating, let alone living together.
She sent me a vague message asking me to reach out to him in a way
that made it sound like he wasn't in a good place mentally.
She also included his new number, but when I reached out to him via text,
it didn't even show my messages as being delivered.
My calls go straight to a generic voicemail and have remained unanswered.
The weird part to me at this point is that my friend's girlfriend hasn't responded to a single one of my questions over Facebook.
It's like she sent the first message and then forgot all about it.
I talked to my friend's older sister, who said that she spoke to the girlfriend recently
and was told that her brother isn't reaching out to anyone because he's lost his job and is very depressed and feels like a failure and fears rejection.
Which I understand, but I don't understand why his girlfriend would ask me for help and then,
and dip after I try to get even a crumb of context.
I also learned that his family hasn't seen or heard from him in at least three months,
which is when he moved in with his girl.
So here's the part that's kind of freaking me out.
I thought about reaching out to my friend on Snapchat since I could sometimes catch him on there
into the past.
I entered the new number that his girlfriend provided into Snapchat,
but the handle that popped up underneath, it is very clearly the girlfriend's handle,
complete with her name, personalized bitmoji, etc.
It's the same handle she uses for Instagram, so I know it's her.
In my sleuthing, I also found a review that this woman left at my friend's former workplace.
It's mildly unhinged.
It accuses one of the female employees of being touchy-feely and S-A- towards male employees.
I don't know if my friend was fired or laid off or what,
and I could see someone potentially leaving a negative review as vengeance if their boyfriend had been fired,
but the content of this review was so specific, jealous and paranoid, that it has me absolutely baffled.
It reeks of someone who is manipulative in relationships.
Basically, is there an innocuous explanation for why my friend's supposed phone number
would be associated with his girlfriend's Snapchat account?
No one has seen or heard directly from him in months.
The only communication has been through his girlfriend.
At best, I'm worried that it seems like she's speaking for him, and none of us know how he's
actually feeling.
At worst, the Snapchat detail has me worried that she's impersonating him.
I don't know why she would do that, but there are too many fishy details that aren't adding
up.
I don't want to call a wellness check if my friend is just depressed and antisocial, but this situation
is seriously weird.
Update number one.
Thank you all so much for your input.
It's been agonizing, trying to make the right decisions here, and I really appreciate all of your consideration.
I obtained my friend's mailing address from my family member.
Incidentally, one of our close mutual friends just moved back to her hometown last week,
and he told me he would try to swing by the address tonight and see if he could get proof of life for my friend.
If he doesn't make it or can't find our friend, I'll call a wellness check first thing tomorrow.
Stay tuned.
Update number two.
Sorry for the delay.
I had to take a personal day to deal with all of this yesterday and was swamped at work this morning.
My friend is alive and well.
He's not buried in the backyard or strung out on heroin or being impersonated.
I still don't have all the details I'd like or have a direct way to contact him for the time being,
but at least I and his family now have a better idea of his mindset and situation.
Yesterday evening, our mutual friend showed up unannounced at the mailing address I've been given.
Our missing friend opened the door and was apparently delighted to see him.
His girlfriend was there too, and by all accounts, she seems pretty normal.
She also has a dog and a toddler that mutual friend said looked healthy,
and there were no signs of drugs or intoxication.
The phone number was, in fact, the girlfriends.
I guess he was just too absent-minded or depressed or whatever to read what I've been sending.
He seemed genuinely surprised to hear that a bunch of us were extremely,
worried about him and told our mutual friend that he was lining up a retail job and planned to get a phone
and start reaching back out to people as soon as he could afford to do so. I'm not sure whether he
actually will, but that's out of my hands. I'm still worried that his mental health isn't quite as
sunny as he's letting on. Even if you're aloof as hell, it seems like withdrawn from friends and family
for months is pretty drastic, but I can't really do anything else from where I am at this point.
Once he's back on the grid, I hope he resumes contact, but I don't think this is something I can worry
about as much going forward.
Every time he drops off the face of the earth, he turns up totally fine.
That's just the way he is.
At least our mutual friend lives nearby now and can hopefully coax him back into some
semblance of a social life.
Since a lot of you were mentioning the family, I wanted to give a little context.
My friend comes from a very large, very religious, and conservative family.
He has a lot of younger siblings, and as such, was basically on his own by the time he got
to high school.
He stopped living at home before he was 18 due to tension in the family.
He was kind of a quintessential high school stoner, and his parents seemed to basically give up on him by then.
They're also no longer located in our hometown, so I guess they're used to not having contact with my friend for long stretches of time.
One of the family members I talked to did offer to get him on their phone plans so we can avoid situations like this in the future.
If I ever hear from him again, I'll tell him.
Thanks again for all of your help.
I'm a little embarrassed that this blew up so much and ended up being completely.
innocuous, but I really learned the value of better safe than sorry over the past few days.
I might have heard someone die last night. I live off a very out-of-the-way road in front of a massive
rock quarry and right by the woods. Last night at about 11.15, my wife and I were sitting in our
driveway stargazing. We heard a woman screaming very loudly, please help me, and other stuff I couldn't
make out, I think, and start sobbing. I don't think it was anyone messing with us. It sounded very,
very real. We bolted inside and left our dogs out in our panic. I called the police and they said
they'd send someone out. After a little while, we grabbed their dogs very fast and ran back inside.
When we did this, I think I heard more screaming, and my wife thinks they heard a gunshot. We called
the police again. Earlier in the night, we'd seen an ATV with a man and a woman.
when we got our dogs, my wife said they'd heard the ATV again.
We haven't heard anything back.
We called back to see if anything happened.
And they said the police drove out here but found nothing.
I've been stressing out all day.
I couldn't sleep until like three or four in the morning.
I can still hear her screaming,
we're playing over and over and over.
I don't know what to do or if I even can do anything.
I was thinking about calling the police back out here to talk to us
and maybe check the woods with us,
but I don't know if that's a good idea.
I feel haunted.
And the top comment on this post, I think, has the best plan of action for what these people to do.
It says as follows.
I would keep an eye on missing persons reports in your area.
If a woman is reported missing, I would call the lead investigator with a tip.
I probably wouldn't go investigating the woods myself for a variety of reasons.
Try to get some sleep.
You did the right thing.
And hopefully, it's not what it sounded like.
Edit. Write down your timeline while it's still fresh, as many details as you can remember,
just in case it comes in handy for the police later.
My friend keeps talking about this girl he met online. Something seems odd.
My childhood friend, whom I've known since we are three years old, has had trouble organizing
his life since the pandemic. After some setbacks, he managed to get it back on track and started
studying while working with his father. He told me he met a girl online while playing
Plato, a game, and I didn't think much of it because he always made virtual friends.
I stopped talking to him regularly for about three months due to my routine. When we resumed
our conversations, he began to tell me more about this girl. At first, I was very receptive
and believed him. This girl is from abroad, the USA. She skipped a few years of high school
due to her intelligence. She speaks five languages. She graduated with the second best GPA and
oncology medicine from Harvard. She joined UNICEF and went on many missions around the world,
all of this while being only 22 years old. She has a very rare blood type, R-H-Null,
commonly known as golden blood. People with this blood type are at high risk during surgeries,
which led to almost all of her family members passing away. She moved to our city for a supposed
job opportunity because she had been talking to him for a long time. I didn't believe any of this
story, but he spoke with incredible confidence and sounded frantic. Every time I questioned whether he was
joking, he assured me he wasn't. It turns out she had COVID recently, which triggered a heart
problem, so she's been confined to her home because she needs transfusions for some reason.
My friend stopped going to work and studying, and even quit college. He distanced himself from
everyone in rarely response messages. When he does, it's to talk about her, his supposed girlfriend
he met online. He says that he needs to talk to her all the time because, just
or condition, she isn't in danger of having a heart attack or something.
Over time, he started saying stranger things, like that she was being harassed by people
from the Plato community.
These people would make fake screenshots showing him being unfaithful, and she chose to believe
them.
She made him believe that she had abandoned her lifelong friends because they were against him.
He even mentioned that she claims to have some sort of power to predict deaths.
He describes her as if she were some kind of Jesus or Messiah.
Once, I invited him to play Plato and agreed.
I managed to talk to the girl via call and realized that he was indeed talking to another person.
She didn't seem brilliant at all.
In fact, I suggested testing my level in one of the languages she supposedly speaks and she pretended to lose the connection.
My friend even changed his phone number because he believes her wealthy Russian ex-boyfriend will track him down.
He also mentioned that she knows how to hack phone numbers and access bank accounts.
He told me a very macabre story about a murder of one of her family members that chilled me to the bone.
He says that he met this girl and that they made out.
They both told me the call I mentioned before that they met each other in person.
Something seems very odd.
I'm losing my friend and I don't know what to do.
I'm unsure if they want to take money from him were something worse.
I don't want to oppose him for fear that he might shut me out and stop talking to me.
My friend was never a liar.
I've known him since I was a child.
I'm doubting everything.
I don't know if she's lying.
If my friend is lying to me for some reason.
I don't know what else to do to help my friend.
What should I do?
Update, my friend and I went to his house without notifying him.
His mother opened the door and told us
that she had been thinking of contacting us
because she is also very worried about her son.
She shared more details with us.
He sleeps all day,
wakes up around 7 to 8 in the evening,
and spends the whole night talking to this woman.
We learned something that really alarmed us.
When he changed his phone number out of fear of the Russian man,
he also got a phone line for the woman.
That is, the number I talked to,
and the one my friend talks to every night is in his name.
The woman he talks to is completely untraceable.
His mother is very concerned because he mentioned that soon he wants to go visit the woman
to take care of her.
My friend and I told her that, under no circumstances,
should she let him go to find this woman because he risks never coming back.
My friend and I took him outside his house, and for a while, he was like he used to be.
But he kept talking about fantastical stories about the woman.
His parents are going to try to get some psychological help.
The situation has become very creepy.
I don't know what this woman wants for my friend.
And now I'm quite sure they never met him in real life.
I'm afraid this woman might want to kidnap him.
I'm not even sure if she is only one person or more, because he mentions that he was harassed by other numbers.
She hacked them and messaged them through these numbers to show them that she took possession of the phone numbers.
Obviously, she is just the one behind all these numbers.
This is so weird.
I'm so worried.
I'm only posing this on Reddit to know if this is a type of scam where you get contacted by so many numbers happened before.
And what does she or they want for my friend?
And all right, this one's definitely a scam or something really weird that's going to go on.
Kidnapping, scam, robbery, or something else.
Or maybe it's just a Harvard girl who is talking to someone online and really wants to meet with them
and she has plasma blood or golden blood or whatever the hell they were talking about.
This is such a scam or just something sus, obviously.
And this is kind of what I was talking about in the second story that I read in this video.
Someone dating online and they think it's real and they end up needing to send money.
That's the type of vibe I'm getting from this.
But this is definitely a scam.
I just don't know what the end goal, probably abduction of some sort,
kidnapping, but this one's weird and definitely a deep story. I would like to find out more on how
this ends finishes out, but I couldn't find anything more. So comment down below, what you think
that this even is or if this is a known scheme of some sort. But yeah, interesting story for sure.
Someone has been standing in front of my house and staring at my bedroom window for the last few
nights. The other night, I looked out of my window and I noticed that there was someone standing in the
street in front of my house staring directly at me. I closed the blinds and shrugged it off,
assuming that they were just passing by. But a few minutes later, I looked again, and they were still
there. I told my dad about it, but when he went to see what they needed, they weren't there anymore.
Normally, I would just forget about it and move on with my life, but it happened again the next
night, and last night, too. But each time my dad goes to see who it is, they're gone. He says
it's probably just some kid your age messing around.
But from what I've seen of them, I think it's a grown man.
It's creeping me the freak out.
What should I do?
And all right, I think for this one,
the person should just either get a camera,
if they have a camera,
just set it up on time lapse or just video
and just set it right on like the edge of the window
and just have a video waiting or picturing or whatever
just to get some proof that this guy's there
and then if it happens again and again and again, go to the police or something.
And I don't know how much evidence you need to kind of get the police to watch your house
or arrest a person for maybe stalking of some sort.
But I think that would be pretty good to get a good look at him,
see if he keeps doing it, see how long he does it,
and see if he does anything else other than just stare.
But that's weird regardless, especially how it happened multiple nights.
But like I said, I think probably just do it or record a few more nights.
and see what happens.
I think someone's been in my apartment.
I, female 27, just moved into my new apartment like a month ago,
and I know certain things that tells me that someone has been in my apartment when I wasn't there.
I always locked my patio door, but when I came home, it was unlocked.
I asked my apartment manager about it, and they kind of brushed in another rug saying
it was maintenance changing light bulb, but maintenance did that one week ago, so I did not believe
them. Sometimes I would come home to different smells in my apartment and not my regular smell. I got a
doorstopper and been using it every day. This morning I noticed a loud sound coming from the door,
but I thought it was just the neighbor's store since our walls are thin. I had my doorstopper under the
knob. I left to go to work and notice that my deadlock looked different. Apparently, it was showing
the master key lock instead of my keyhole. I went to my apartment manager about it and they were in
shock and said they would investigate it because I did not put in a request for maintenance, so
it shouldn't show the master keyhole. This is kind of freaking me out. I'm getting a camera because
I don't even know if I can trust my apartment manager after this incident. What are some home
security ideas that you have put in your home? And okay, I think this one is pretty simple right now
until they have further evidence. There's not really much you can do, I don't think. So I think the best
move for them, in this case, get a camera or get one of those chain door stoppers. I think,
those work pretty well, especially if the deadbolt's being like picked or whatever is happening
with the deadbolt because they said the deadbolt look different. So maybe put like a chain door
stopper or chain stopper or like lock on your door. I'm sure you can get through that somehow,
but still, that's a better safety of precaution. And like I said, first off, get a camera.
I mean, a camera will definitely catch anybody doing anything weird. Maybe one, maybe two. Just record
different parts of your home or just the entry and see who the hell is trying to get into your house
or if anyone is coming into your house.
And I did read a top comment on this post,
and it says that a lot of maintenance workers
will literally just walk into your apartment
and stay in your apartment because they know your schedule.
So they'll know you're gone from, you know, five to eight.
I just made up random numbers,
but they know your schedule,
and they'll chill in your house and just,
if they get caught, they'll just stay there doing maintenance.
So that's kind of a scary thing to think about
if you live in an apartment or condo or something.
And the maintenance people have access to your doors,
and they could use your condo or apartment,
however much they want because they can
and they kind of have an excuse
every single time they might get caught by manager
or you by saying they were just doing maintenance.
So guys, get a camera in your house,
get a lock, get an extra lock,
just keep yourself safe.
And all right, guys, that wraps up disturbing R-slash RBI stories
and this was a new type of style for me in general.
I usually don't really leave my opinions on videos.
This is also my first RBI story,
so let me know down in the comments below.
Would you like to see more?
And would you like this turned into a series?
Because I enjoyed these and it's pretty fun.
And I'm also pretty new to give them my opinion.
So let me know if they suck or if I can improve them in any way.
Or if you want me to yap less and just do this story.
But I appreciate you all watching to the end of the video.
Let me know how much, like how long you want the videos to be as well.
And yeah, like I said, thank you so much for watching to the end of the video.
I appreciate every single one of you.
And thank you so much for watching.
And if you want to see more, go on my channel.
I got a ton of stories like this.
