Hey, what's up guys and welcome back to the channel.
And today we're getting into some unexplainable Reddit threads.
You guys have been loving this series and I have loved to recording these videos.
These Reddit threads are scary, disturbing, interesting.
And in today's video, they are unexplainable and unsolved, which makes it ever more exciting.
But I appreciate you stopping by.
It really means the world.
And yeah, like I said, today's stories and today's threads are super, super interesting.
So you'll want to stick around and make sure you like the video and subscribe to the channel.
the channel's goal is 1 million subscribers, so please subscribe to the channel.
It helps more than you know.
And alright, without further ado, let's get into some unexplainable Reddit threads.
Neighbor says they saw a tent in my living room.
I honestly don't know what to make of this.
The simplest answer is that my neighbor is lying.
But why?
Here's what happened.
This morning, my neighbor knocked on my door and told me that while out of the
out of town earlier this month, they noticed my front door was open and that a very nice
blue and brown two-person tent had been pitched in the middle of my living room. They said they
thought it was a little odd and that's why they mentioned it. I was on vacation over the 4th of
July and my nephew and another neighbor both fed my cat while I was gone. Neither are the type
to pitch a tent in my living room, though to be honest, I'm not sure who would
do such a thing. Nevertheless, I asked them about the tent and neither knew anything about it.
I also don't have anything that's blue and brown and could be mistaken for a tent. My living room
is mostly black and white. I also don't own a tent. I'm not a camper. Nobody has a set of
keys in my house. I have an Arlo camera by my front door, and I set one up in my living room
while I was gone so that I could periodically check in on the cat. I'm a little neurotic about her
because she was very old.
I checked all the footage and going back to June 4th,
because my neighbor couldn't say for certain when exactly they saw the tent.
Needless to say, there's nothing captured by either camera.
And also the OP just mentioned June 4th and July 4th,
so I don't know when the OP was gone.
I assume that was just a typing error,
but let's just assume July 4th.
So anyways, unfortunately, the cameras do sometimes fail to capture everything.
I'd say that they have a 10 to 20% fail rate,
when it comes to turning on when there's movement.
So there's a slight possibility someone could have entered my house,
pitched a tent,
taken it down and left,
and the cameras wouldn't have caught any of it.
But I feel like it's a pretty slim chance
that neither would have been triggered.
To add to all of this,
my cat has been acting super strange ever since I came back.
She's very nervous,
refuses to go anywhere near the back part of the house,
and is not using a litter box.
So something did weirder out.
So Reddit, any ideas?
If my neighbor is lying, which is the most plausible,
why?
They've never lied before and always seemed like a reliable narrator.
They also said their boyfriend sought too
and mentioned how weird it was.
Is there any scenario where it makes sense for someone to break in
and pitch a tent but also leave the door open
so anyone can see?
Is it a glitch in the Matrix?
Is she somehow suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning?
Am I?
Thankfully, the Arlo camera outside did capture part of our conversation, so I didn't completely imagine it.
It's just so fucking bizarre.
I'm just at a complete loss.
The whole thing has left me feeling unsettled.
Edit.
Thanks to everyone who's commented so far.
To answer a sum of questions that seem to have come up.
Number one.
I took the cat to the vet and she got a clean bill of health.
I'm trying some behavioral solutions, multiple litter pans, special cat food for urine health,
calming cat treats, calming spray, fell away plug-in, etc.
It's been hard, but I'm committed to helping her get through this.
Number two, the neighbor and her boyfriend are both older, I think in their late 60s,
and we live on the same property, so she has to walk by my front door to get to the street.
I'd say from the walkway to my front door is less than five feet, so she has a pretty good view of my living room.
I agree with those who said her timing is strange.
Why mention it weeks later?
But I had recently talked to her about my cat's behavior, so I think she mentioned it as a possible reason for the cat's behavior.
She did say, maybe in the future you should let me know you'll be out of town so I can keep an eye out for you.
At the time, it sounded like a normal thing to say.
But if she's lying, then maybe it's because she wants to know when I'm gone?
Number three, my nephew is in his mid-20s and very responsible.
He owns his own home and works long days.
Neither he nor his brother are campers and, as far as I know, don't own any tents.
The camera outside captured him entering and exiting all three days,
and he was in the house for less than five minutes.
Same with the other neighbor who fed the cat.
She came over three times, all for less than five minutes.
Neither was aware of where the camera was inside,
but they knew I had one so I could check the cat.
The camera also caught the cat chilling out in the house,
and all three days she was acting normally.
And before we get into number four,
I have to clarify what frogging means.
So frogging is the practice of secretly living in someone else's home
without their knowledge.
Named after how frogs hop from one place to another,
a person who frog may do so to avoid paying rent,
due to homelessness, or for other reasons,
often hiding in unused parts of the house like crawl spaces,
attics, or walls.
And so that's pretty disturbing.
But anyways, let's get on to number four
because she learns about frogging.
She says there is a crawl space under the house,
but you can't access it from inside.
There's probably a two-foot-high cross-spice.
in the ceiling that you can't access from the closet in my bedroom, but I have a bunch of boxes
and suitcases shoved up against the opening, and I don't see how someone could put them back
if they'd crawled back in. I will say that the more I ruminate on it, the creepier, it seems.
Update. So I spoke to all my neighbors again today. The neighbor who saw the tent is still adamant,
that's what she saw. She said she and her boyfriend saw it around lunchtime and he confirmed. They said
the tent was up when they went to lunch and down by the time they came back. When I told her my
cameras didn't catch anything, she was unbothered. When suggested that maybe she saw something else,
she said, it was not my imagination. I saw a tent from right here. And then she stood on the
walkway and pointed into my house. She seems to think someone might have had a copy of my key
and is accessing my house whenever I'm out of town. She thinks someone sabotaged a bull
cameras and mentioned black suits that aren't picked up by security cameras.
As a reason, the tent sector wasn't caught.
She also mentioned that my other neighbor, the one who checked on my cat,
had a large white tent in her yard a few months back.
I saw that tent and can verify it existed, but this neighbor said that is not the tent she saw
in my house.
I rechecked all the camera footage one more time.
There are no unaccounted for gaps.
In fact, there are several snobes.
snippets of the cat chilling in the living room looking completely unconcerned before and after
the cat sitters came into the house.
It's actually making me rethink the timeline of when she got spooked.
I rechecked the attic access and it hasn't been touched.
I also worked from home, so it would be hard for someone squatting in the attic to go unnoticed.
I also took the advice here to check internet data and electricity usage.
Both were way down on the days I was gone.
My gas bill was smaller as well, but if the tent was only up for an hour, well, that makes sense.
So then I spoke with Kat City neighbor.
She confirmed the existence of her white tent and explained that she was airing it out in her front yard after a camping trip,
which aligns with all the tent care information in the comments.
She also said that she has had similar conversations with this neighbor where what she is saying is bizarre and unsettling,
but she says it with such conviction that you find it hard not to blow.
believe. She also understood my unease, saying the whole story reminded her of the Manson family
in their creepy crawling. And this opens up a whole big can of worms. So basically, if you don't
know who the Manson family is, it was a cult, and they did some creepy stuff, killed people, that sort of
stuff that's an even bigger can of worms. But basically, they did things called creepy crawling
or burglary missions that they called creepy crawling.
And during these outings or missions, quote unquote,
members would sneak into random homes
while the occupants of the house were sleeping
and they would move furniture or household items around
and then occasionally steal small belongings.
So they just did things,
like they just moved stuff around
which is so creepy to me,
how they didn't really steal stuff,
but they just kind of were pranking people
and trying to disorient people
and be like, well, I don't remember my chair,
being there and it's across the room.
And so, I mean, super weird, but they did that.
And so, yeah, this does kind of sound like it with O.P., what's O.P.'s saying.
But, yeah, the Mansons did that.
And that's a whole other can of worms, like I said.
But hopefully that makes sense to what O.P. is referring to.
But anyways, back to the post.
Once she mentioned that possibility, it made me understand why I was feeling so anxious.
I have read about the creepy crawling and the Manson family was a boogie monster for me growing up.
For those worried about my cat's well-being, thank you.
She seems to be slowly coming back to herself.
Right now, I'm putting her in the kitchen at night, and she has a cozy little bed where she sleeps.
So far, she hasn't peed anywhere inside since I've started doing this.
But I do wake up before six every morning to let her out.
And she promptly uses the litter pan.
I have set up for her on the porch.
I also started using the urinary health cat food from Royal Cain that someone suggested on another thread.
And that seems to be working.
Fingers crossed.
To end on a lighter note,
Cat City neighbor also had a whimsical explanation,
not to be taken seriously and just for fun,
that I also thought I'd share.
Apparently, there's a Japanese folklore tradition
of trickster raccoons who shape shift in wreak havoc.
She pointed out that it is a raccoon season where we live,
and in fact I just saw a mother and her babies by my porch a couple of nights ago,
and maybe they snuck in and pitched the tent just to mess with,
me. I mean, it's as probable as anything else at this point. Next steps, asking the landlords
to change the locks. Second update. This update will probably be more than a little anti-climatic
and for that, I apologize. To the people who felt like this was much ado about nothing, I agree.
But like I said before, it's her continued incessance and certainty about this bizarre idea
that bugs me. So, here we go. Number one, the boyfriend does.
indeed exist. I have met him and spoken with him several times. He seems older than her and is quieter
overall. He has stated that he's a cat person and has engaged with my cat in the past, but I have
not had the chance to talk to him separately to get his side of the story. Number two, the white
tent was in the front yard of my other neighbor's house and faces the opposite street, so a reflection
is impossible. That being said, the older neighbor does keep bringing it up and is convinced people were
sleeping in it. I have spoken with the front yard neighbor and she was airing out the tent after a
camping trip. No one ever slept in it when it was in her yard. But I think a lot of folks in the
comments are correct when they say the white tent unsettled the older neighbor because she bought it
up several times. Number three, I did loop in the landlord, but they seemed to also believe the older
neighbor. She's rented from them for at least 15 years, if not longer. And they told me that in
the past, she's been very reliable and truthful. They seem spooked by the whole story and offered
to change the locks. I figure it can't hurt, so I agreed. Number four, the landlords and I
questioned the older neighbor pretty rigorously, and she sucked by her story even as we all expressed
incredulity. She reiterated that she saw a two-person tent, blue and white, fully erected in my
front living room. She said it was not a pop-up tent or pup tent.
She said she saw it on a Wednesday because that's the day her boyfriend takes her to lunch each week.
She said it was up when he picked her up and down when he dropped her off.
She got a little defensive as we probed, so people who warned that this could happen if we challenged her were spot on.
She kept reiterating that it was a tent and that she could see it quite clearly.
She seems to want to pin it to my nephew, and the landlords seemed to be leaning that way too,
which is really frustrating.
He's a 25-year-old man with his own home.
He has no need to air a tent out in my tiny living room.
And he doesn't even camp.
Number five, the cameras.
I double-checked every Wednesday for the last two months.
That's the limit for the stored videos.
No tent.
No people entering my house.
No footage of her and her boyfriend staring into my house.
That being said, there's one Wednesday with no footage because the battery had died
and I forgot to charge it, but I was home.
There's only one Wednesday that I went out of town,
but I left after 4 p.m. and returned in less than 24 hours.
I still feel like this is pretty solid evidence of no tent,
but I have to allow for the fact that the cameras were not fully operational.
Number six, the cat is slowly getting better,
that we had a setback today when she peed in the kitchen after the gardener scared her.
She is consistently using the litter pan I set up for outside with no problem,
She just refuses to use any litter pan anywhere inside.
I have one in the kitchen, one by the front door, one in the pantry, and one in the bathroom.
She will only use the one outside.
I do think the calming food is helping since we're down to just one accident and it was on the puppy pads.
I'm keeping her in the kitchen at night and letting her out before 6 a.m. every day.
Hopefully I can eventually get her to use her litter pan inside.
Number 7.
Raccoon season.
I think my front neighbor use this phrase because it's baby season right now.
We have a mom and two kits that hang out in our property.
If you've never seen a baby raccoon, you're missing out.
They are adorable, so like I said at the beginning, not much of a resolution.
At this point, I just want to put the whole thing to rest.
I'm changing the locks, so if there are mystery indoor campers or mischievous raccoons
with a copy of my key, they'll have to find another locale for the
their shenanigans. I'll stop questioning the neighbor because she's adamant and now it feels a little
weird to keep harping on it. I'll endeavor to be patient and kind to my cat so that she gets back to her
old self. And that's the end of that saga. So what are your thoughts? Do you think it's possible that someone
was camping in O.P.'s living room? And the neighbor just saw it and then told her about it? I mean,
it's a very weird situation.
I mean, the cat acting weird after the fact.
That's weird.
The camera kind of going out part of the time.
That's also weird.
But her also being able to disprove it kind of helps play against the case that there was some sort of tent camper in there.
Or do you think the neighbor is just crazy in wanting to make it, I don't know, make the neighbor paranoid or something?
I mean, I have no clue.
It's very, very weird, though, and I just don't know who to believe.
I mean, who do you believe?
Do you believe the neighbor who keeps telling her, hey, you have a tent in your living room
where you did when you're gone?
Or do you think O.P. is the sane one.
It's like, well, I mean, there's no reason for someone to do that unless.
I mean, you never know.
I mean, I really don't know.
I mean, I don't know.
It's very weird.
I'd be a little bit paranoid after her, but hopefully she changes her locks and has no other
creepy encounters or anything like that in the future, but very interesting post and
unexplainable, but very interesting and on to the next one.
O.P. thinks they're going insane. The post is titled, I am losing my fucking mind.
Posted on September 29th, 2022. And the post reads as follows. I was never one to believe in
paranormal shit or whatever, but I have no idea what the fuck is going on with me right now.
and I'm genuinely considering seeking professional help.
I live in a really small shared dorm apartment with two roommates.
There's this hallway that if you face it, there are two bedrooms to your right,
one bedroom to your left, and a closet at the end of the hallway facing you.
The bedroom on the left is right next to the closet.
When we moved in, my roommate always complained that they got a closet instead of a bathroom like me,
and my other roommate had in our rooms.
This closet has a bunch of our shared stuff,
including my clothes, gifts, keepsakes, whatever.
Today I got back from visiting my parents,
and I came back to put away some clothes from this closet,
but I opened it and saw a fucking bathroom,
a bathroom with a toilet,
and a shower and everything.
I was only gone for two days,
and we rented this place,
so it couldn't have been randomly built or some shit.
I told my roommates,
but they fucking said it was,
always a bathroom and they had no idea what the hell i was talking about i can't find any of the stuff
that was in the closet anymore even though i had a shit ton of memorable keepsakes in that fucking
closet what the fuck i spent all day just sulking in my room feeling miserable i'm not crazy
but that bathroom was a fucking closet just three days ago i feel like i'm losing my goddamn mind
I'm genuinely considering seeing a psychologist right now.
And then he posted an update about a month later,
and it truly is terrifying and so sad.
And the post reads,
I have a brain tumor.
And that is the last we ever heard from O.P.
And God, that is just...
Just gives me goosebumps.
That is so horrible.
You know, this is unexplained.
because we don't know what happened to the opi after hopefully he's doing all right but god
i just can't imagine you know kind of having a break like that where you know something isn't as
as it seems and then you come back and you're like whoa this is a bathroom and then a month later
you realize you have a brain tumor jesus christ man that post is just terrifying and so sad
i really hope op he's doing better now but yeah that's a rough one
on to the next one.
OP is completely weirded out and puzzled
when her young daughter's tablet
begins playing recorded audio
of OP's home from one week prior.
The strangest part,
the tablet was miles away at the time
the recorded conversations took place.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to be posting,
but I've seen R-slash-RBI
help people solve weird technology problems before.
This might sound,
a little weird, but I promise this is 100% legit, and it's really, really freaking me out.
My 6-year-old daughter received a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas last year.
Never had any issues with it until recently.
A bit of background information.
My children and I recently moved back home to Pennsylvania.
My ex-husband and I are newly divorced.
He lives in Maryland, but comes to have the kids every other weekend.
The home that my kiddos and I live in is my 88-year-old grandmothers.
She moved in with my parents across the street after being ill and hospitalized in recent months.
I run my own home business and I'm also my grandmother's primary caregiver.
About three weeks ago, my parents were watching my kids one evening.
When my daughter paused a YouTube video she was watching, she seemed confused.
She told my father she could hear Mom and Dad.
talking on her tablet through her headphones, but that it was hard to hear. My dad, a computer programmer
all his life, put on the headphones and indeed heard the voices of myself and my ex in a bit of an
argument about a television. He had my mom listen, and she heard it too. When my mother pulled out
the headphone jack, the conversation stopped. My dad searched through my daughter's entire tablet
and could not find any recording apps. I do not have Alexa or alexia or
any Amazon home products. My dad informed me of it this evening. I knew exactly which conversation
slash argument he was talking about. It had happened about a week prior when my ex was up and dropping
off the kids to me. My ex had been and was in Maryland since that day. I thought it was really
strange. This morning my daughter was watching a video, paused it and said,
Mommy, listen. I hear your music. I put on her headphones. I heard a very low
frequency of Prince's beautiful ones in the background. I heard a door open and then my father's
voice calling, hello, hello. About four to five minutes later, I heard myself talking on my phone in
the living room. What I described above all happened yesterday morning. I was playing purple
rain on my record player in the living room. My dad came over to use the facilities. Their water
was off for maintenance work. And he called, hello, hello. From downstairs, while up,
I was upstairs. A few minutes later, I'd received a phone call and was sitting in my living
room talking. I am 100% sure of all of this, as it just happened yesterday. Here's the kicker.
My daughter's Kindle was not in the home at the time. It was with her about 40 minutes away
at my ex's parents' house. He had them this weekend. And then the OP gives a list of bullet
points, and so I'll read them out now. The conversation slash audio are
only heard through headphones and seem to play back when videos are paused.
I've checked my entire home. I cannot find any type of recording device whatsoever.
Focused on my living room where these two conversations took place.
Found nothing. The recordings are both from an earlier date.
How is my daughter's tablet saving conversations?
The low-frequency conversations are not heard every time the Kindle is paused with the headphones plugged in.
As far as I know, these are the two only times my daughter has heard distinct yet low audio.
I've not been able to figure out a way to record what I heard.
After I heard the conversation from yesterday, that was it.
Didn't replay.
When headphones are pulled out, the audio stops.
Headphones are older, sharper image brand that have had for years.
I cannot find any apps, recording programs, saved audio files, or anything out of the ordinary.
Daughter's Kindle somehow has conversation recorded from a time when the tablet was not in our home.
I've also searched my entire phone and had my dad look at it.
We could not find any app or program that would be recording.
I called my ex, who also just happens to work at the NSA.
I felt extremely uneasy about all this and thought that maybe he had planted some type of recording device in my new home.
He vehemently denied anything like that.
and in fact was very worried about this.
The only link I can think is that the tablet is connected to my Amazon account.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm thoroughly spooked.
Edit.
I'm going to add this as my father just reminded me of it,
and it's really the only strange occurrence that has happened outside of these recordings.
A few weeks ago, a guy showed up at my door.
When I answered it, it was awkward.
until he finally said,
Hey, I'm here for the swing set,
brought the truck.
I had no idea what he was talking about.
We do have a swing set,
but it's almost brand new
and in our backyards.
I wasn't selling it.
The guy then showed me the let-go ad.
Sure enough, it was photos of the swing set
from my backyard.
He then showed me the messages between he
and someone acting as the owner.
The person he was talking to
gave my address and was asking $200 for it.
That person also refused to give a phone number
and would only speak through messages.
They apparently made plans for this guy to come over that day,
disassemble it, and haul it in a rented truck.
I was baffled.
I felt bad for the guy.
He never came into the house and my kids were both in the living room
near the door when this happened.
Edit 2.
Here are the headphones in the convenience.
Kindle Fire, and then the OP links some pictures of the headphones and Kindle Fire, so people
can help speculate what is wrong with it.
Pretty interesting.
I mean, it doesn't look any out of the ordinary.
I mean, it's just a regular kid's tablet and headphones.
But then she goes on and says, the tablet was and has been in that blue case the whole
time.
The headphones are a sharper image from forever ago.
Can't seem to find an exact model of them online right now.
but would estimate they were purchased seven to eight years ago.
Kindle Fire HD was purchased in November during Amazon's cyber sale.
Edit 3.
I talked to my ex once again.
He informed whom he was to inform of what I told him in detail.
He filed a formal report and is being told he will be contacted tomorrow during the workday.
Because his voice was on an unknown recording a few weeks back,
this is proper protocol apparently.
I called the local borough police station on their non-emergency line.
The man I spoke with had me repeat the entirety of this multiple times.
He told me to keep looking for recording devices
and asked that I call back this evening if nothing is found
and that he'd personally come to my home and take a look.
Edit 4.
The local police are here now.
Now at my parents with the kids as they tear apart my house
looking for a recording device.
The good news is that they finally came here and are taking this very seriously.
I told two of the officers about some of the thoughts slash ideas some of you guys mentioned.
The not-so-good news is that I kind of got some shit for asking about this on here.
Because this is now going to be considered an active investigation I can't post anymore.
At least not right now.
I'll update you guys what I can, when I can.
Thank you guys and gals so much for all your helpful advice, links, everything.
Today has been really weird and scary for a now single mom in two kids, six and nine.
You all made me feel like I wasn't going crazy and seriously gave the most helpful information.
The officers have already mentioned turning this into the proper people.
I have no idea what they mean by that, but I'm so glad they didn't think I was some weird broad
making things up, staying at my parents' house with the kids this evening.
And then she gives us an update.
A few weeks ago, I posted here to R-slash RBI, and then she gives a quick rundown of what
we just read over, how she heard recordings of two arguments she had, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
and then she says, I got really, really, really great advice from so many of you guys.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
I've received quite a few messages from fellow Redditors asking if there is any update.
While the case is still considered pending and I can't be very specific about certain details,
I wanted to give a small update on the situation.
A device was found in my home the day I posted slash called, rigged under my mantelpiece.
I can't be very specific, but the device itself had advanced Wi-Fi capabilities,
a somewhat large amount of internal memory, obviously even more external.
Newer technology and a newer device was told that it appeared to be a very professional job.
Long story short, I defended my ex-husband tooth and nail in my previous post.
I can and will elaborate much more when this investigation is officially closed, but I can say that I was wrong.
Completely, ridiculously wrong, and I feel really stupid.
This whole thing has thrown me for a loop.
I find myself feeling paranoid and anxious very often.
It's getting a little better each day,
but I'm definitely looking over my shoulder a lot more often.
This isn't something I ever dreamt I would have to deal with.
However, hearing those playback recordings were a blessing in disguise.
I would have never known and called the police otherwise.
I'll make a final update to when all is said and done.
Thank you guys so much for helping a freaked out mama that day.
Redditors can be asked hats at times, but are more often knowledgeable, helpful, and caring people.
And we haven't actually gotten an update.
I mean, this was posted a few years ago, and so we haven't gotten updates since,
but maybe the police told her, hey, don't post us on Reddit or something like that.
But hopefully she's well.
Hopefully the family's well.
But that is a very, very creepy situation.
I mean, to have a potential recording device inside your house,
that you only picked up through your daughter's Kindle
with only headphones plugged in.
That's a craziest scenario.
I'm glad everything's all right.
And I mean, I can't make assumptions,
but it seems pretty clear who the person who was doing it was.
But yeah, very interesting and very, very creepy.
I'm glad she got to figure it out, though.
On to the next one.
Weird guy shows up at my parents' house at 1 a.m.
looking for me and using details of my life
that were valid 20 years ago.
Help me figure this out.

Posted this on the creepy encounter's sub
and someone suggested I post here.
This happened three nights ago
and I'm going crazy trying to figure it out.
I just moved into a new apartment one month ago
and I'm still unpacking and settling in.
I've been using my parents' address
as my mailing address, who live a few towns over, 20 minutes away, all my life.
Three nights ago, my parents call me at 2 a.m., freaked out and proceeded to tell me the story.
Apparently, at 1 a.m., someone starts banging on their front door and repeatedly ringing their
doorbell. My stepdad walks downstairs and opens the door, leaving the front glass door closed and
locked. There was a man standing outside, who looked to be in his 30.
with a black hoodie on with the hood pulled up around his face.
He didn't have any distinguishing facial features, facial hair or tattoos.
The only thing my stepdad said was that he looked to be Hispanic.
Neither my stepdad or my mother, who was watching the whole thing out the window,
recognized the man.
The man says,
I'm so sorry to bother you, but I'm looking for my full name.
My stepdad plays dumb and says,
Who?
The man proceeds to state my full name again.
again and says that my boyfriend is worried because I didn't come home that night. He claims to be a
friend of my boyfriend and tells my stepdad that they are both out looking for me, worried because
I didn't show up at home. I don't have a boyfriend. I live by myself with my three dogs and haven't
been in a relationship in the past five to six months. And here is the weird part. My stepdad
asked the guy, what boyfriend he was talking about, and the man tells him the name of my boyfriend.
boyfriend I had when I was in the 10th grade, nearly 20 years ago. My boyfriend in 10th grade
has a very, very unique Italian name. I've never met anyone with a full name even close to his.
He says my high school boyfriend's name a few more times to ensure my stepdad heard him
and repeats that they are very worried about me. Is my stepdad sure I'm not inside? At this point,
my stepdad is weirded out and closes and locks the door in his face. The man does not leave.
He lingers in front of my parents' house for the next 10 minutes, smoking cigarettes and talking on the phone.
Finally, my parents called the cops.
About five minutes before the cops arrive, the man walks down to the dead end on their block and drives away in a silver car.
Stepdad was unable to get the license plate.
My parents file a police report and nothing else happens.
After I hear the story, I am going nuts over the weird details.
How would someone know who I dated nearly 20?
years ago. And what would their motive be of making up a story that included the weird details
about my past? I have not contacted with the 10th grade boyfriend in over a decade. Yesterday,
I decided to message him on a Facebook to see if he had any insight. I tell him the whole story,
and he's just as confused as I am and claims to have no part in it. I am at a loss. I'm also really
freaked out that some strange man is going through that much trouble at one in the morning to look for
me. Any insights or ideas would be greatly appreciated. No, nothing else weird has happened since then.
Edit slash update number one. Wow, this really blew up. Thank you so much for all the kind words and
precautions that I should take. I want to add something here that a few people commented that might
shine some light on this mystery. First off, I am not in any legal trouble and have no reason to
think someone would be suing me. God, I mean, I guess it's always in the realm of possibility.
that I'm being sued by someone, but I really don't think that's it.
Like I previously commented, I had an expired registration ticket that I did not show up to court for,
but I believe I got a letter in the mail just asking me to pay a really large fee,
so I don't think that's related.
I did take a personal loan out, took it out about a year and a half ago.
It wasn't for anything too crazy, and I was really good with making payments on time
until about six months ago when I had a medical issue.
Currently, I am really behind on pay.
but to my knowledge, I have not defaulted on the loan yet.
What do you guys think?
Related?
I had absolutely no idea that this is a thing, or I would include this detail to begin with.
Let me know your thoughts.
Edit slash update number two.
I have a list of a few things that I'm going to look into tomorrow.
Based off my own thoughts and based off a ton of valuable feedback I got in here.
Thank you.
We'll post an update ASAP.
Edit slash update number three.
I'm so sorry it's taking me so long to update.
It's a super busy time at work.
Unfortunately, there isn't much to report.
I called the loan company.
They claim to have nothing to do with it.
All of my friends and family also noted that the 1 a.m. factor kind of rules that out anyway.
Nothing else strange has happened at my parents.
I went there for the first time last night and kept a close eye out for anything.
Didn't observe anything out of the norm, so this remains a mystery.
I'll be sure to update if something else happens.
And then the OP went Radio Silent for a year and a half.
And then she posted,
finally have an update to Weird Guy shows up at my parents' door
using details about my life that were valid 20 years ago.
Posted on July 12th, 2024, like I said, a year and a half later.
The post reads as follows.
All right, one year later, I finally have an update to this insane mystery.
I will include the original story here, first followed by the update.
After this happened, me and my family and a couple of my close friends have been talking about this mystery in depth to try and put our heads together to figure it out.
We all have our own theories, but ultimately no definitive answer as to what happened or who this creeper was.
So we pretty much put it to rest and only continue to joke about it once in a while.
So here's the update.
My step-sister, my stepdad's daughter, and her fiancé were at a house party right at a house party right at
after the holidays, around early January of this year. While they were there, they started talking
to a girl that neither of them knew. After some time talking together, the girl started talking about
her ex-boyfriend and how they were going through a really tough time together. They had just recently
broke up and she felt really bad because he was a wreck over it. Somehow, it came up that this girl's
ex-boyfriend was my 10th grade boyfriend, the one with the really unique Italian
name. The whole situation wasn't that big of a coincidence since I went to high school with my
step-sister's fiancé and we have a lot of mutual friends. So it makes sense that they were at a party
that would include some people I went to high school with. As soon as my step-sister and her fiance
heard this, they both start freaking out and without revealing too many details, they tell the girl about
the whole mystery and how weird it was. As they were telling the story, the girl's face starts to go white
and she looks like she's about a cry.
My step-sister and fiancé
tried to console her and ask her what's wrong.
The wine slash beer had been flowing at this point,
so I'm sure everyone was a little tipsy.
The girl starts to tell them that a few nights ago,
she was sleeping,
and someone started banging on her door at, get this,
fucking 1 a.m.
Just like what happened to me at my parents.
The girl jumps out of bed and says
she was absolutely terrified
by how loud and aggressive someone was banging on her.
door. She said she literally thought it was going to break in. The girl has a ring camera, so
she looks on her phone. There on the camera is a guy in a black hoodie banging on her door.
She obviously pretends like she isn't home and keeps all of the lights off. He continues banging
as she is getting ready to dial 911. The guy stops and leaves. She said she was absolutely
terrified. For whatever reason, she didn't end up calling the cops, but may have went to stay with
a friend that night or the night after. My step-sister and fiancé are shocked by the details
and how similar it is to my story, especially because of the mutual ex-boyfriend we share,
except this girl literally just broke things off with him. They asked the girl if she has any
idea who the guy is, and she said no. But that is definitely, is not the actual.
ex-boyfriend. She said that this guy was much taller and heavier than our shared mutual ex.
How fucking weird. This mystery is still unsolved and these new details honestly just make my head
spin even more. No one else has showed up to my parents' door since the actual incident a year ago.
And then the OP added some extra info in the comments. Hi all, so a few answers to some questions.
Number one. My 10th grade boyfriend was into drugs when I dated him back in high school.
No idea if he continued to use throughout his life or not, but can confirm he is definitely an addict
who may or may not be in recovery currently.
Number two, 10th grade boyfriend has been to my parents' house multiple times.
My parents still live in the same house I grew up in.
And 10th grade boyfriend has been over many times while we dated in high school.
I don't know where he currently lives, but he grew up around 10 minutes away from my parents' house.
Number three, 10th grade boyfriend and I had a horrific breakup.
I met my high school sweetheart while I was dating him and broke up with him in a pretty messed up way.
He held a grudge over it all throughout high school and was extremely nasty to me to the point of bullying.
At one point, I had to get a security guard to escort me to classes because him and his friends were bullying me so badly.
The bullying was only severe for the rest of 10th grade, but he definitely hated me all throughout high school.
At one point, he did end up apologizing to me and explained that he was just heartbroken over me breaking up with him.
But at one point, I was way past the point of forgiving him.
After graduating high school, we ran into each other maybe once or twice when I was home from college,
and he was totally cordial and nice with me, and we laughed the high school experiences off.
Number four, I can definitely try reaching out to him on Facebook again and bringing back up this
whole mystery with the added updates from his recent ex-girlfriend to see what his reaction is
and gauge whether or not he's being truthful in it.
I can also ask some mutual high school friends who know him about how he currently is,
if he's into any shady shit or not.
Number five, my stepsist only gave me a first name and description of recent ex-girlfriend
from the party, but I can't.
can go on 10th grade boyfriend's Facebook and look for her under his friends,
then reach out to her on Facebook Messenger to inquire about ring footage and ask her more questions.
Also see if she ever reached out to cops.
I agree this is probably the best thing to do if I want more answers.
But I agree I need to be careful as I still don't know what is going on here.
Number six, 10th grade boyfriend does not have a brother,
just one younger sister that I remember back from high school.
and then some relevant comments.
OP replies to one comment saying,
I just posted some answers in the comments
about the nature of my breakup with high school boyfriend
and how horrific it was
and how he basically harassed me for the rest of the 10th grade.
Your last theory, and what a lot of other people are commenting,
is starting to make more sense.
It could be that my 10th grade boyfriend
has a tendency to get insanely hung up on girls
and is sending a close friend or relative
to do these 1 a.m.
drop-bys. And this would especially make sense if he is still using drugs like he did in high school.
This theory being correct would mean he lied to me when I reached out to him on Facebook a year ago,
which of course, he would. If this is the case, it seems like he moved on to his current ex.
I just hope he doesn't swing back around to me. And then another comment from the O.P.
I decided I'm going to try and find out the girl's full name so I can look her up on social media.
I may even be able to find her with just the first name that I already know from my stepsist telling me.
I can go on to 10th grade boyfriend's Facebook and look in his friends list for a girl with the same first name who looks like she could have been his ex-girlfriend.
He may even have pictures with her tag, so it shouldn't be that hard, unless he wiped his social media clean of her after they broke up.
When I am able to find her, I'm going to reach out to her and try to get some answers.
I think this is the safest route, since I still don't know 10th grade boyfriend's role in this,
and I did already ask him once, and he claimed to have no part in it or know anything,
which may or may not have been a lie.
Based on how scared my steps is said this girl was.
I'm betting she'll be willing to talk to me about it since we share the experience.
I will make an update, post when I have more info.
Thanks, everyone.
And then that is the last we've heard from OP, but that's a very weird situation
I mean, do you think it's related to the ex-boyfriend,
or was this like some lone creep who was like some sort of stalker or something?
I don't know.
It's a very weird situation, and I would be insanely unsettled.
I mean, for that guy to show up at the parents' house,
I guess that makes more sense if it's the ex-boyfriend
because that's the only address he knows
that could be associated to his ex-girlfriend if you're following me here.
But, yeah, they're just very, very weird,
and I would definitely install.
lot of security systems if there is some sort of shady shit going on and maybe like the boyfriend
just got even deeper into the drugs and kind of went crazy a little bit and he's like blamed it
on his ex-girlfriend and he wants to get in contact with her i don't know very weird situation very
creepy and hopefully opi and her parents are all right and hopefully they get it figured out because
that's very very creepy anyways on to the next one i got an email from a deceased friend
I am really spooked.
Tonight, I got an email from a friend who died two years ago.
The email is like this, and here's a screenshot.
From Jack Vaughn to me.
Subject, thank you kindly.
Body.
For the glimmer.
Skull emoji, hammer emoji, heartbreak emoji.
For the sake of this post, we'll call him Jack Vaughn.
He passed away two years ago.
Before he died, we had a falling out and hadn't spoken in 15 years.
It wasn't a major falling out, just a disagreement, and we drifted apart.
Which was easy to do as he moved across the country.
Don't imagine too much drama here.
We're in our 50-60s and too old for that crap.
We never exchanged emails using my current Gmail address.
We were never friends on any social media and never texted.
I only found out he died through a mutual friend.
The email address this email came from is something similar to,
and then there's an email.
I'm not going to read it out because I don't want to docks the email.
But anyways, it's not an address I know or a phrase I recognize.
I googled the Gmail address and found it is associated with a comment on a blog post from five years ago.
Interestingly, that blog post is a picture tour of a park near where my friend lived before he died.
The front part of the email address is associated with a Discog's account.
My friend was a musician, but the name on the Discog's account is Doug something, not my friend.
And there is no other info on the profile.
That could be something else entirely.
Otter still is that my email address is Glimmer and then his email address.
The person who sent this Gmail had to know that very specific word.
Glimmer means a great deal to me and has for decades.
Not the actual word, but a similarly unique one.
Obviously, I know my friend is dead.
There was an obituary, and I read an article celebrating his life and music by some of his friends.
As far as I know, this was not his email address, but I can't be sure of that.
And the emojis are freaking me out a bit.
The message is oddly cryptic like something he might have written when I knew him,
poet slash musician type, but he could not have sent it.
I would dismiss it as spam, but for the,
fact the message uses such a unique word for me. I don't think a spam generator going through
random Gmail addresses is going to align the email message in emojis so specifically. What should I do?
Is there any way I could learn more? Should I reply and ask who is it? Should I assume it's spam and
stop being freaked out? And then some top comments are assuming I'm not misunderstanding, something
you might think about. Email accounts get hacked, a lot. Dead people are not safe from this. Indeed,
their accounts are more at risk because the passwords are old, static, and likely to be compromised
by data breaches, etc. As time goes on. Email accounts also contain a lot of information. Even
if he never wrote to you from this account, he could have forwarded an email of yours to it,
sent himself a list of contacts, or saved your address on the account contacts.
Perhaps most likely, you were both in the distribution list of a group email sent by someone else.
When accounts are hacked, they are often trawled for new addresses to target.
The word you are calling glimmer sounds as though it is apparent from your email address.
So a third party writing to your email address would pick this up from there.
Often, these weird, spammy messages from compromised accounts do that through some sort of human or automatic algorithm in their attempts to personalize.
Often the first word in an email address will be a first name.
So in light of all the above, I think it's most likely this is a compromised account
throwing out messages at addresses harvested from within its data.
You may get more.
Some of them may be more obviously from spammer slash fishing, etc.
In the meantime, you could run his account through Have I Been PWNED and similar services.
Not conclusive on anything, but if any of his credentials from that account have been compromised at any point,
there's a decent chance either that he reused them for his email account itself,
or it has been indirectly been brute forced.
And then the OP responds to this saying,
This is super helpful.
It makes me feel better.
It makes sense that even a dead person's email could get hacked.
I checked the PWNED website, and this email address was pinned twice.
Nothing about password.
more email addresses, purchase history, and contact info.
But you're right that it's possible we are in the same group email messages.
And that's how they got my address.
And then another commenter says some more speculative and theoretical possibilities.
The commenter says,
either he faked his own obituary or told some computer program years ago to send the email today
or he told some friend a whole lot about you.
None of those sound great.
And then the OPE responds to this saying,
Honestly, I wondered about programming an email to send years ahead of time.
This date is really random, though.
It's not my birthday or anything significant.
So why?
And I guess telling a friend about me is possible,
but we really only had one mutual friend before he died.
And I know him really well.
He wouldn't do this, and he would have upset.
to him to see it. He's still upset about Jack's death and I don't want him to freak him out.
And then that's the last we've ever heard. So I really wonder what it was. But I mean, most likely
hacked. I mean, we've read a few stories on the channel so far about emails sending from
dead people's accounts. It's very creepy and it couldn't really be anything. But, um, you know,
possibly hacked. But again, that email that was sent is very, very weird for a hacker. They would
like send in my opinion, I feel like they would send something more fishy or scammy.
Like they would try to get you click on something or whatever.
But you saw the screenshot and it just seems like it's more like personal in my opinion.
But I could be wrong.
It could just be a hacked account.
But who knows?
I mean, if you guys have any theories, drop them down below.
And yeah, let me know your thoughts.
On to the next one.
Opie asked for advice regarding creepy neighbor who starts appearing out of no way.
Should I, 25 female, be concerned about my male neighbor, or am I being paranoid?
For reference, I live by myself in an apartment on the first floor.
It's located the very back of my apartment building, so there's very minimal foot traffic,
usually just my across-the-hall neighbor, his visitors, or delivery people.
I have a screened-in patio.
I usually leave my door cracked open during the day for my cats to hang out outside.
The patio is pretty private.
But there is about a two-foot sliver that is viewable from the outside.
Anyways, the other day I left to run errands.
And this man, probably late 20s to mid-30s, was peering into my patio.
I confronted him.
He explained that his dog named Waffle likes to interact with my cats through the screen.
He did have a cute little dog with him.
He was friendly, said he lives on the third floor.
I didn't think much of it until I got home.
went to open my back door and realized that my back door
had been closed all day.
So you'd think he would have noticed that my cats weren't out
and left instead of waiting there, peering into my patio, right?
On Friday, my coworker slash friend stopped by
and we were talking for a while in this little area by my front door.
When I went to walk her out, I opened the door.
It opens inward.
And since I didn't anticipate a man to just be standing right outside
my door, I was startled and jumped back a little. My friend knelt down to pet Waffle and asked,
oh, what's his name, et cetera? He kept to letting Waffle get into my apartment despite my attempts
to kindly nudge him back outside. I tried to give him a look, like, hey, get your dog out
of my house. But when I went to make eye contact, he didn't have that same friendly expression.
He had this look on his face like he was thinking really hard about something, kind of like
the face you'd make if you wrote a shopping list.
forgot to bring it with you so you intensely to remember what was on the list.
It was a little unnerving, but whatever.
They left and the day went on.
Then yesterday, I heard him shouting, Waffle, Waffle, in the morning and later that night.
I should mention, I've lived here for three years.
I know that no one has moved in recently.
I've never seen this guy, nor have I ever heard him call out for the dog before.
I'm a grad student and work from home, so I'm pretty much home all the time.
and if he's home due to quarantine, I feel like I would have at least seen him or heard him
once before during the earlier months.
So now that I've been overthinking about my interactions with the guy, my front door and patio
are at the back of the building.
You wouldn't normally walk a dog there since it is just a brick pathway.
Maybe he was just curious at first and notice his dog liked the cat, so he kept her turning.
But then why was he peering into my patio when there were clearly,
no cats out at the time. Why was he so close to my door? Was he listening to my conversation?
Am I being paranoid? Or is this behavior a little weird? On one hand, the guy really could just be
innocently walking his dog by my apartment. On the other hand, I'm getting some creepy vibes
off this guy. What do you guys think? I'm probably being paranoid, right? Update. I feel a little
paralyzed after reading all the responses.
I tried to trust my gut instincts, but I wanted to hear from others.
I genuinely appreciate everyone has responded with recommendations and validated that my concerns
are warranted.
Thank you guys.
My friend is staying with me for a little until I increase my safety measures and feel
a little safer again.
Thank you to anyone checking in.
And then some relevant comments.
Someone says, O.P.
I took a look at your post history.
It looks like you have been living at your place for three.
years and have on and off boyfriend for three years but haven't heard of this guy for the past
three years. It's very suspect that he has started to come into your life just after you have
broken up with your boyfriend. How often was your ex-boyfriend of this place? He might have picked up
that you have been recently single. Also, from the past posts, it seems like you have been in
relationships where you were the dominated, sorry for that term, one. Which is why you are hesitant about the
complaint in protecting yourself. But please make yourself safe. Have a camera, log every
interaction you have noticed, log the amount of times you have heard him with his dog near your place,
and then file a complaint. At the end of it all, it's better to be safe and protect yourself
than be sorry about it later. At least with the logs, you can provide that proof to your apartment
management and if it needs to be to the police. And then the OPE response to the saying,
I didn't even consider this.
This is very interesting.
My ex-boyfriend used to be here almost every day or so for the last two to three years.
And now after three years of living here, this guy is only now showing up?
Now that a man isn't as present?
Ugh.
Terrifying.
And then the OP gives us an update.
Update.
Should I 25 female be concerned about my male neighbor or am I being paranoid?
Hi, I just wanted to update anyone who read the original post and is wondering how I'm doing.
I appreciate everyone's concerns.
I didn't expect so many responses offering their recommendations and support.
I've updated my security measures, which I should have done when I first moved in anyways.
I only let the cats roam around the patio during the day when I'm hanging out in the living room and can supervise, maybe two to three hours a day.
I haven't seen this person, nor the dog, since my last interaction.
I did hear a woman's voice yelling out the dog's name the other day, but this could be his partner,
roommate, friend, etc. I'm not sure. I will update if there are any future interactions with this person,
but so far, none. And let's hope it stays that way. Nonetheless, I am safe. Thank you. Please stay safe also.
And then some relevant comments. Some people start talking about a if I go missing folder,
which is a file of everything investigators might need to find you,
everything from passwords and logins to fingerprints and dental records.
And then the comment reads as follows.
The box stuff looks like it was edited out,
but here's a rundown from this article.
Here are some things you can include in your folder.
So I guess Opie was worrying about going missing
and wanted to put together a if I go missing box.
And I guess this is just some good information for you guys too.
If you are worried you're going to go missing.
But some things you want to have,
Social media passwords, banking info, dental records, copy of driver's license, cell phone provider
login, Fitbit Apple Watch tracking device passwords, photos of identifying scar slash tattoos,
clear unedited makeup less natural photo of your face, photos of jewelry you wear often, places
you frequent, handwriting samples, fingerprints, vehicle information, photo of actual vehicle,
your typical daily route, sew phone and laptop serial numbers, contact info for your closest friends.
And I think this is, you know, positively aimed.
Like the people who started this, you know, if I go missing box, have well means.
But you just got to be careful if you do do this because, I mean, this is your everything about you in one file.
So just be careful.
I mean, yes, it could be good for law enforcement to find you.
But at the same time, if a bad actor gets that information, then you could be in trouble.
And the commenter even says that in his comment.
they say, to say this is all highly private information that you should keep safely tucked away.
If possible, give one trusted person access to this information.
Don't keep this lying around your home.
And then edit two, this got popular so I'd like to say that I am providing info opi
asked for, not telling anyone to do this.
Also, there is no rule that says this all has to be analog.
For those who are upset about leaving this information physically in your home,
all of this information can be stored digitally, wherever you believe is safest.
In either situation, you simply need to hide it well and give access only to trusted individuals.
And that is the last we ever heard of from this threat.
So I hope O.P. is doing well.
And, yeah, we really haven't heard anything since.
So, yeah, hopefully O.P. is doing well.
Hopefully, whatever this creeper was doing in our yard, didn't do anything extreme.
But very interesting.
And I'm interested to hear any updates or possible updates.
but we shall see.
My brother went missing six years ago.
Police came yesterday to ask if we have seen him lately but didn't say why.
How do we get more information?
Posted on R slash legal advice.
Posted on August 10th, 2017.
And the post reads as follows.
My twin brother went missing on the 23rd of July 2011.
He was 19 years old and went out for a run.
It never came back.
We have used every resource at our disposal, police, PLS, etc.
And we have never found even a hint.
It was like he had disappeared from the face of the earth.
I don't think there's a PI in town that we haven't hired yet.
And PI stands for a private investigator, but yeah, just wanted to put that in there.
But anyways, he hasn't accessed his bank accounts, health care, his social media accounts, his emails, nothing.
You can imagine how difficult it has been for our family.
Yesterday afternoon, a police officer came to my place to ask me questions about him,
whether I had seen him lately, if I know where he lives,
if I know any of his recent friends and questions like that.
When I asked what this is about and what do they know about him,
he said he can't say anything at this time.
The same officer has left to a voicemail on my mother's phone asking for a time to meet with her
to ask her a few questions.
I told him everything and begged him to tell me what is going to be.
on, but he refused. I went to the police station today, but couldn't get any more information
from them and couldn't find this officer. It's a Saturday after all. I'm going to go again on Monday.
What is the best way for me to get some information about what is going on here? By best, I mean,
most likely to succeed. I imagine there's no law that says the police officer is required to tell us
if he has learned something about my brother, right? Is there any law or some freedom of the information?
Act or whatever that might help me uncover what is going on?
And then the OP gave us an update later that day.
In the post read as follows.
I talked to the officer in charge of the investigation for my brother being missing.
They found his name written in a notebook which belonged to a drug trafficker.
The officer who was looking for him was wondering if my brother was still missing after talking
to the officer in charge of that investigation.
Three days later, we received the call that they may have found.
my brother's remains, and they needed DNA samples to confirm. And DNA samples confirmed it was
him. What happened was that when he went out that day, he saw his friend, and they went to see
another friend of his, not my brother. That was a drug-dealing location. Things went bad when my brother
was there, and someone was heavily beaten up, which my brother and his friend saw. That's when they
decided to. His friend was kept silent under the threat for his life. He was dealing for them.
Recently, he was arrested and confessed and reported my brother's murder to get a better deal.
The officer says my brother didn't die in pain. It was multiple gunshots. You'd expect after
six years of playing this possibility in our heads, we would have been prepared for it, but
we weren't. We had a funeral for him. Now there's a place that I can go and talk to him,
and at least feel a little closer to him,
even though he's gone.
I think all of you,
who helped.
I think my roommates may be poisoning me,
originally posted to R-slash,
two hot takes,
and originally posted on October 12, 2023.
The post reads as follows.
I made just this account because
I don't want anyone I know to find it,
but I need help and don't know what to do.
I am a 25-year-old female,
and I live in Seattle.
I just moved here a few months ago from New York City because of my dream job,
and I was so excited.
I work as a data analyst, and I make a very comfortable living.
It felt like my life was finally all starting to fall into place.
The only thing I needed was a place to live.
I took to Facebook because I figured this might be the best place to find a roommate.
I found this girl, let's call her Kate, who's 26 female, and she seemed perfect.
She said that her and her boyfriend 29-mine,
male were in a two-bedroom apartment. That was very spacious, in a great location, and we're looking
for someone to rent a room. She said she was a seventh grade English teacher, and her boyfriend
was a physical therapist. All her interests and hobbies seemed to align perfectly with mine,
so I agreed to live with them. I moved in one month after initially finding each other,
and everything started off great. Kate and I were friendly and had good conversations when we
interact. One day, however, I get home and she seemed to be in a very bad mood. I asked her about it,
and she ignored me and walked into her room. I didn't think anything of it, but then I receive a text
from her that read, I know you want to fuck my boyfriend. And that's all she wrote. I was very
confused because that was completely untrue. I have been cheated on in the past and know how devastating
it is, so I would never want to inflict that pain onto someone else.
There were even more texts had changed, and everything seemed to be good.
But when I saw her in person, she continued to act weird, but I brushed it off.
The next day, however, she began to act very nice and sweet, even offering me a smoothie
because she knew I was too busy in the mornings to make breakfast.
I accepted and went about my day.
The smoothies continued every morning, and I just thought she was being nice.
Now, I am experiencing some symptoms and I'm a bit scared.
My hair has started to fall out and my hormones have been all over the place.
I have developed some weird stomach issues and I get headaches all the time now.
This is all new to me.
It may be that the move and all this change is affecting my health, but it does seem to have
started around when these smoothies did.
I don't know how to catch her and see if I'm right.
and I don't want to seem rude and stop accepting the smoothies if I'm wrong.
I don't know what to do.
I need some advice.
And then some top comments on this post read as follows.
Someone says,
Please see a doctor ASAP.
Take the smoothies with you or go to the hospital.
Again, take the smoothie with you.
Please do this now, not later.
In all seriousness, the hair loss is concerning.
Hair loss accompanied by the other symptoms,
you're describing all point to heavy metal poisoning.
I'd rather read an update from you than hear about you on one of my true crime podcasts.
And then she replies, or the opi replies.
Wow, I didn't realize that they would be able to test it at the hospital.
This is 100% what I will do.
I also do not want to be on a true crime podcast.
Thank you very much.
This is beyond helpful to me.
And then someone else comments,
How are your nails?
Have they developed ridges?
And then the O.P responds saying,
I always have my nails manicured so I don't really know if they look abnormal.
And then someone else says,
I hope it's something like a bad blender.
And not something malicious, but also get an allergy tested.
And then the OPE says,
I'm also hoping it's not malicious, fingers crossed.
But I will definitely be doing all that has been suggested.
And then someone else says, rents an Airbnb and move out now.
And then the OPE said, I have been looking for a new place.
I'd rather live alone at this point.
And then the OP gives us an update, saying,
Thank you to all that have expressed concerns for me and my safety.
I really appreciate all the advice I received as well.
I want to keep this brief as this experience has been dramatic.
I took the advice to go to the hospital and did just that.
I went to the hospital that day after posting and brought along the smoothie.
They told me that they were unable to test the smoothie at this time,
but they did give me a blood test as everything.
everything would still show up there. This would also indicate what is happening in my body
and why I might be experiencing these symptoms. To make a long story short,
turns out my roommate was adding some sort of creatine or protein powder into the smoothies
because she wanted me to bulk up, so I was no longer seen as desirable to her boyfriend.
I told her about what happened at the hospital, and she told me everything. That is what has
been causing my headaches, stomach issues, and potentially the hair loss because I'm apparently
allergic to it. So technically, she was not poisoned to me just trying to make me bulky.
This, however, is not the traumatic part. While the doctors were given me all the blood tests,
they found out that I have leukemia. This news has been hard for me to deal with.
Now, because of my new circumstances, I will be moving back home to be around family as I go
through treatment. No, this was not at all how I expected this to turn out.
but maybe in a way it's a good thing.
I'm not really sure, but I know I'm going to be okay in the end.
Thank you to everyone again for the support and concern for my well-being.
And wow, that really took a turn in the most depressing way possible.
And we have not heard from the OPE ever since.
Yeah, no updates, no nothing.
I mean, it was a throwaway account for, but, man, I can only wish the best O.P.
I really hope she's doing better now.
and recovering well, but such a weird situation.
I mean, the roommate wanted to bulk her up using, even though that's not even really how it works with creatine and whatever.
It's so funny how the roommate's like, yeah, I'm going to bulk her up so you're not desirable.
That's crazy, number one.
But then number two, yeah, finding out you have leukemia.
I mean, maybe it's a blessing because maybe she could have not got diagnosed for a long, long time.
You know, maybe she would have kept going through life and been like, oh, well, I feel.
kind of weird but I'm not going to go to the hospital but it's kind of good that she got it early
I mean trying to look at it in the best way possible but it's super sad and I just wish the best
op hopefully she's doing better now wow such a insane post but yeah like I said I wish the best
op I think I know what happened to my brother I'm trying to write this in a way so that no one
will be able to research and find out who I am or my brother is but it's the internet and everyone's a
super sloat. My brother went missing years ago. And when I say missing, I mean that his case was
declared one of those creepy unsolved mysteries it was on the news. I distinctly remember my parents
interviewing for the news in our living room. I think I know what happened to him. I was very young
when he went missing. I barely remember him. But I do remember that I loved him a lot. He would
pull me around our block in a wagon. Most kids' age didn't do that.
The days before he disappeared, I remember him staying home and babysitting me.
I stayed in my room and played Nintendo 64.
Throughout the day, a guy came over.
I remember him.
He was older, almost our dad's age.
My brother made me go into a room whenever I heard the doorbell.
Later, after the guy left,
my brother would ask me not to say anything about the guy.
With my brain only being focused on video games and extra dessert at that age,
I agreed.
I didn't care.
nor did I comprehend the gravity of the situation.
The day before he disappeared, I remember the older guy coming over.
I was in the kitchen and remember looking up and seeing him kiss my brother.
They hugged.
They didn't care that I saw them.
The older guy waved at me and I waved back.
Then I kept watching cartoons.
I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to my brother whispering outside our front door.
Don't worry.
He's asleep, he said.
The older guy said something I couldn't hear.
Then my brother said something I couldn't make out.
But I made out the words, visit them.
Or maybe he said, visit him?
Either way, I know the word visit was in his sentence.
The man raised his voice and said no.
Then I heard plan and city.
Then I fell asleep again.
The next morning, the day he disappeared, my parents were at work.
My brother was acting very strange.
I remember he kept checking the clock.
In the afternoon, I remember him picking me up and asking me if I wanted to go to the wagon.
I was too hooked on Nintendo 64 and said no.
He almost begged me and I said no again.
Then he told me he had to run to our neighbor's house for something.
I don't even remember what he said.
I said, okay.
He reminded me to not open the door for anyone, only mom and dad.
I shouted at him.
Okay, because Super Mario was getting on my fucking nerves.
and he wasn't helping.
He gave me a hug and told me that he loved me and left.
He never came back.
All these years, decades later, and I think he was in love with that man.
I knew he was.
The memories randomly came flooding back to me earlier.
I'm not quite sure why, but it has been taking over my thoughts lately.
I can't sleep because I keep thinking about it.
I think my brother left with that man, and they ran away together.
Or maybe something worse happened, but I don't think that's the case.
My freshman year of college, I was part of a sports team that got national recognition.
I remember my team's picture was on ESPN and with our university's name.
A few days later, I got mail at my dorm.
It was a gift basket.
I thought it was from my parents, so I didn't read the card.
I threw it away immediately and ate what was in it.
But it was nothing about candy.
nerds jolly ranchers tootsy rolls and herges kisses i called my dad and thanked him for the gift basket
but he said he didn't send one neither did mom then i got to thinking all of those candies were
what i used to eat as a kid literally all i ate for the earliest years of my life were those candies
i tried to find the card but i couldn't then i began to think about how my brother would wheel me in
the wagon to the gas station close to our house so
I could get candy after dinner, even though it was a punishable by death no-no from mom.
Months later, during Christmas, I got an unmarked Christmas card. The only thing written on it was a
smiley face. Since then, I've heard nothing. No one I know sent that card. I have never responded.
I wonder, every day, if he's out there. I have never told anyone this. When the play,
The police asked me what happened that day.
I told him that he went to the neighbor's house because that's all I remembered, honestly.
It destroyed my parents.
My mom became addicted to painkillers,
and my dad has had three extramarital affairs,
which I know this tragedy is no way an excuse to cheat, but it sure didn't help.
It has ruined our family.
And maybe my brother knows what he did.
Maybe he regrets it and knows he can't come back home.
But if I could see him today,
I would just tell him that he is always welcome in my home.
I love you so much, brother.
We have so much catching up to do.
Please come home.
Please.
And then the OP posted an update on April 12th, 2016.
The post says,
My parents kept my brother a secret from me.
It's 4 p.m. and I'm drunk, L.O.L.
These past few weeks have been insane.
I posted on here before.
My brother went missing a long time ago.
I thought he ran away from home.
Long story short, I got into contact with some detectives that our family has known since my brother went missing.
When I started asking questions, they told me that my brother was no longer on any missing person's registry.
When I asked what that meant, they told me that he was removed per my parents' request.
I asked my parents, my dad actually.
My dad ignored me.
My mom told me my brother is alive and okay, as far as she knows.
They found my brother years ago, a very, very long time ago,
and found out he was living with another man.
He's gay, and it disgusted my parents.
He tried to reach out to them.
They told him they didn't want anything to do with him
and that I didn't remember him and wouldn't want to see him.
I went ballistic.
My parents weren't fazed by it.
They sincerely hate my brother for who he is, for being gay.
They kept him a secret from me all my fucking life.
My brother missed the birth of his nephew.
He missed my wedding, graduations, everything.
Just because of my parents.
They lied to me.
I've been able to get a phone number and contact information from police officers.
My brother left it all open in case anyone from our family wanted to contact him.
I still can't work up the nerve to call him.
The address I have for him is across the fucking country, but he's alive.
My brother is alive.
I'm drunk as fuck right now because I can't deal with any of this.
I haven't talked to my parents in weeks, and I never plan on speaking to them again.
Not for what they've done to me.
Or my brother.
This is real, and it happened.
It happened.
It is happening right now.
I don't know how to process this at all.
My parents let me believe my brother was dead.
or kidnapped forever, when in reality, he just ran away, and when he wanted to come back,
they disowned him.
I'm fucking crying right now.
How could you do that?
Fuck you, God.
Fuck you, Christians and Jesus.
I don't even know I'm so fucking sorry.
I'm sorry.
And then the OPE he posted another update on May 7, 2016.
The title read,
I met my brother that was missing.
And the post reads as follows.
Here's an update for you all.
The day after I made my last post, I woke up and called into work.
I told my wife who was essentially my caveat and I told her everything, the whole story.
She wasn't really surprised.
She's not a fan of my parents much, but like many of you, she told me to call the number
I was given for my brother immediately.
She insisted on it.
She took herself and my son out for a day together so I could be alone to talk with him.
I dialed the number about seven times before I actually pressed the call button.
It started ringing and I hung up.
Then I got frustrated at myself and called the number back.
It rang and rang and rang and I got a voicemail.
But it was the automated voice, not anyone else's.
I didn't leave a voicemail.
I thought the whole thing was ridiculous.
I called my wife and told her to come home
and she refused until I had talked to someone on the other end of the phone.
About an hour of pacing and drinking two glasses of scotch at 1 o'clock in the afternoon,
I called the number again.
It rang three times.
I panicked and I hung up.
But this time, the number was calling me back.
I swear to whatever God's above, I thought my heart was going to stop.
I almost threw up right there.
I answered the call.
The first thing I heard on the other end of the last,
the line was a guy laughing in the background. There was wind on the phone. The person on the other
end was outside and it was windy. Who is this? It was his voice. I knew that voice. It was my
fucking brother, my brother, who'd been gone for my entire life. I covered my mouth with my shaking
hands and just sat there. He kept asking me who it was. The guy in the background was trying to
talk to him. He hung up on me. I called him. I called him. I called him.
back right away. He answered again. Me being a creepy ass, the first thing I said after decades
of not seeing him and thinking he was dead, I blurted, I got your number. He asked me who I was
and what I wanted. I said, it's me. There was a really long pause. I thought the call had dropped.
Then I heard him tell someone to turn the radio down and roll the window up. The sound of the wind
stopped. And then
he asked me my name.
I told him
and he said I was in line.
I told him I got his number from the missing
children's network and detectives.
I heard him gasp.
He asked me what color shoelaces he wore
to a picnic when we were kids.
And I remember my mom getting mad at his orange
laces with blue shoes.
It was the last time we were together as a family.
I could tell he was crying.
The first thing he asked me was,
where are you and I told him I lived a few hours away from home without hesitating he told me
I'm coming he went straight to the airport without any luggage bought a plane ticket and flew straight
out to me we stayed on the phone with each other the whole time when he was walking through the
gate I knew who he was right away he is middle-aged salt and pepper hair muscular
he looks just like our dad but only better I know if I told him that
that, that would make him mad. I literally pushed an old lady out of the way and just hugged him.
He's about two inches taller than me. He was able to pick me up. I was crying. He was crying.
I was having a breakdown. We went to the bar at the airport. He wouldn't let me out of his sight.
He kept holding onto my arm. He kept telling me how unreal it all was. He apologized to me. He
He kept crying, telling me he felt horrible.
I told him to forget everything and tell me about his life.
He's married.
His husband is a doctor, a pediatric oncologist.
They live in the Pacific Northwest.
They have two children, girls, 12 and 8.
He works as a legal consultant and has his own firm.
He has an amazing life.
He told me that he thought I hated him and wanted nothing to do with him.
We sat at the bar for hours.
Literal hours.
I think we sat for about six hours before I begged him to come home and meet my wife.
We got home and my wife was a mess.
She hugged him and insisted he stayed with us.
At this point, his husband was going insane and kept calling him.
He had no idea what was going on.
He thought he had eloped or something.
It was crazy for a couple days until everything was explained and out in the open.
My son and my brother were like two pieces of things.
in a pod. Honestly, I never wanted children. My son was an amazing accident, but I'm not good with kids.
I'm always afraid I'm going to break them. But my brother is a pro. Kids love him. He stayed with us
for two weeks. And in two weeks, everything about my life changed. His husband and two daughters
flew in to stay with us. My brother-in-law and my two nieces, my family, they were my family.
They are my family. My brother wants my wife and I to move to be closer to his.
him, my wife is on board. I work as a professor at a university and have already started to send
out feelers to see if there are any open positions, and I found one that is actually tenured and
higher pay. I do not plan on forgiving my parents, but my brother still loves them. He went by their
house and knocked on the door. My father shut the door in his face. My mother gave him a hug and told
him to take care of himself. Then she shut him out. I can't forgive them for that. I have
no reason to stay close to them. I want to be with my family. I want to make up for all the lost
time. It's 2 a.m. right now and I'm drinking a tall glass of scotch and grading papers. My beautiful,
wonderful, smart, amazing wife is asleep on the couch. She likes to watch me grade papers.
My son is asleep in his room cuddled up with all these stuffed animals. His uncle brought him.
And I'm here. So happy.
so fulfilled knowing that my family has grown and doubled in size so suddenly. My heart is happy.
I am so happy right now, Reddit. I am so happy. Update number three, November 21st, 2016.
Title, My New Family and Moving Forward. Hi, everyone, a few months ago I posted a notice that I had met
my brother that my parents had disavowed and didn't tell me, letting me assume that he went missing.
Here's that update.
I met my brother that was missing.
Now here, I'm posting an update over six months later.
Thank you all for everything so far.
Everything in my life has changed in the last 10 months.
Honestly, I don't even know what to say.
I want to apologize for neglecting this account.
I've been busy.
I want to fill you all in on what's been going on in my life.
I owe everyone who has messaged and commented that much at the very least.
My wife, son and myself have moved.
Not exactly to the same region of the country as my brother and his family, but much closer to him.
I got a new job teaching at a new university months ago.
While it's not a turnerred position, it gives me the option to do research, which is my favorite thing to do.
My brother-in-law's family has had many interesting discussions with each other trying to describe what has happened between my brother and I.
They're a pretty open-minded and accepting family, so to hear what we have been through was absolutely shocking to them.
My brother never told his husband the truth about his life, only that he didn't speak to his family
anymore. Nevertheless, they welcomed me and my family with open arms when we came to visit.
It was like we had always been part of their family. I felt content knowing that they are my family.
When my brother ran away with his first boyfriend, he was verging on 18.
He has elaborated and told me that the relationship with the man was abusive, and when he tried
to leave and return him home, our parents would not let him. So he was forced to stay with an
abusive man because he had nowhere else to go until he moved away to college. This deepened my
anger for my parents. But my brother, still to this day, has this ridiculous sense of hope and
optimism. I love that about him because I don't have that. My brother and I are two very different
people, but in a way that works well. We reflected on my teenage years and I filled him in on
what happened with my life. My brother is very quiet and observant. He always watches before he
intervenes. He's soft-spoken and gently objects when something says someone he disagrees with. He's patient,
kind, and optimistic, as I've said. He has a very loving heart, so I think that's why he has an
unrelenting faith in our parents. Me, on the other hand, I'm abrasive, impatient, and quick to jump
to conclusions. My wife wanted me to add, about me, doesn't separate laundry,
refuses to mop the floors and can't properly change the oil. Despite being very different,
we have this uncanny ability to be thinking the same thing, even though we have been separated for
several years. We can still give each other a look and know exactly what the other's plotting.
My brother has been able to create a spectacular life for himself, all on his own. One thing I struggle
with is knowing that he went through more than half of his life by himself, putting himself
through college and law school all alone. The more he filled me in about the
the years away from our parents, the more angry I became. I severed communication with my parents
months ago after the last time I posted on here. And it has done wonders for my own mental health.
And then the election happened. And I'm just not even going to read the rest of this post because
he just talks about the election and everything that happened in 2016. Whether or not how you feel
about it, I don't care at all. And it's just going to cause arguments in the comment section that
I don't feel like reading. So yeah, the rest of it, apparently.
Apparently his parents called him about the election.
They offered or they wanted his brother to go through conversion therapy and stuff like that.
And they're upset about the election, this and that.
And it just sounds like they're happy at the end, which is great.
I mean, that really was a very heartwarming story.
Yeah, sorry I didn't read the rest of the post in full.
I just really don't give a shit about politics.
And reading through that, it just, yeah.
It's just annoying to read and like I said, I don't want to see the comments about it.
But yeah, that's an insane story.
I mean, his brother, he thought he was dead for decades.
He thought he was dead or missing or whatever.
And to find out he was alive and well, which is also something, it's not like he was just alive.
He was alive and thriving.
Went to college, went to law school, had a family.
I mean, amazing for the scenario.
it's horrible what the parents are doing it's really horrible that um you know that entire
relationship between the parents and the kids both brothers is completely severed now but luckily
the brothers have a great relationship and it sounds like they have great families i wish them
nothing but the best and opi the best a very very interesting story and yeah i just can't imagine
finding out my brother has been alive after years of thinking he was dead or missing that really
could be like a movie almost. I mean, insane story, and I think a great way to wrap up with today's
video. Even though that last one wasn't unexplained, I just thought it was unexplained, up to a point,
and then it got solved. But a lot of these were unexplained and unsolved, and a lot of this was
very interesting. I liked all the threads in today's video. Did you enjoy the threads in
