Reddit is massive. Millions of users, endless posts, and usually it's nothing more than people talking, joking, or venting.
But hidden deep in the threads are accounts that feel wrong. Posts that don't add up, users who appear say something bizarre or chilling and then disappear without a trace.
No explanations, no closure, just a lingering sense that something was seriously off.
Please like the video and subscribe to the channel.
It helps so much.
Thank you.
Today we're exploring some unexplainable Reddit users, the ones that left behind more questions than answers.
Let's get into it.
Yay, video games.
We start with a user who went by the username U slash yay video games.
At first, the name seemed harmless, just some guy online who really liked video games.
But once you start reading this post, something.
feels off. His messages had no context and no logic whatsoever. They read like someone stuck in a
completely different reality, typing out thoughts that didn't belong anywhere. He had been on Reddit
for a while, to be specific, since 2010. He had a lot of interests like gaming, anime, editing,
animation, mountain climbing, and surfing. Out of all these interests, as his name suggests,
he was more into gaming. He would talk about games in various things.
subreddits, for instance, in February 2010 he commented under post in R-slash gaming.
Bungee saddened by Xbox Live Closure. And they work responsibly well too. For the original Xbox,
but good old Microsoft took note of that and made sure to kill it for the 360. All LAN games
for the 360 have a ping limiter built into them. That will make the game drop out if the ping
reaches anything beyond what you'd expect from another box in your house. I tried it with a
friend a few blocks away and it cut. There's no way you'd be able to play with random people like you
do now with live. So yes, you have your alternative when the Xbox dies, but when they shut down
the 360 live service, you won't have anywhere to go. Pretty normal, right? But that didn't last. This
account ended up becoming one of the biggest mysteries Reddit has ever seen, spiraling into a rabbit
hole so strange, no one could figure it out for years. During this time, the user also showed
shared some of his personal experiences, which are, let's just say, not very ethical.
But do give us an idea that he liked to have some fun every now and then.
In a post made under R-slash-Ask Reddit, Yee Video Game shared one of his experiences.
This is not my account.
What are the best things you've stumbled across that people forget to log out of?
Ah, fun times with Facebook.
A few years ago, on an old eyepore that's 4chan invasion type stuff organizing, some dude
posted student names and login info to the network of a Christian school. So naturally, with some
digging, you found the Facebook or email of these kids and hope they used the same password as they
did for the school. Almost all of them did. Anyway, I got into one guy's Facebook account. Let's call him
Josh. And lo and behold, I see the Holy Grail. A long, long, long, long chain of messages between this
guy and some Christian youth leader. I have no idea what exactly that is, but he listed it on
on his profile, where Josh is saying that he has something he wants to tell him, but he isn't
sure how the youth leader guy will take it.
The last email in the chain is a one-liner mail.
Come on, Josh.
You know you can talk to me.
So obviously, there was only one option for Josh's reply.
I have feelings for another boy at school.
The counselor guy had no idea how to handle it.
I got back something that was mostly filled with ellipsis and, oh dear.
I shot one back with something about Jesus loving me anyway, but
he never replied. Then, the next day I get an insane email, added to clear that up, Facebook
emailed to Josh's account. He'd found out someone else was on the account, from the youth leader guy
threatening to track me down and beat me up or put me in jail, all the usual. And in amongst the sea of
uppercase madness, he berated me for worrying Josh's parents like that. Oh Lord, I'm a huge jerk,
but the mental image of a youth leader man telling the parents and then these Christian parents freaking out
and sit in their sundown to have the gay talk,
with straight old Josh who knows nothing about my emails,
frantically denying it, still cracks me up now.
Until here, everything was fine,
but then something shifted.
In August of 2010,
a username Red Applecour made a post in R-slash gaming.
D-A-E turned subtitles on every time they started a new game,
and then U-slash-Yea video games decided to jump on the thread,
and instead of dropping one comment and moving on, he posted 16, back to back, and every single one of them was, well, a little weird.
Does anyone else ever play the game on hard first time through?
I notice me and my brother always do this, yet it never seems to be the default difficulty.
Does anyone else ever just turn a game off when the credits start rolling without sitting through them?
Does anyone else ever adjust their settings directly in the settings, text file were possible?
Does anyone else ever play through a game a second time with the commentary on because they were interested in what the devs have to say?
And so on for 16 more posts very similar to that.
Each comment felt completely random, like he just typed whatever popped into his head and hit send without thinking twice.
There was no structure, no meaning, just scattered thoughts thrown into the comments.
But that was just the beginning.
Because a little while later, he had another episode.
and this one was worse than anything Reddit had seen up to that point.
The incident occurred in September 2010.
When a usernameed I Wish I Was a Mem started a Threat in R-slash gaming.
Just got oblivion for PC.
What are your favorite mods?
I want to make this game as pimped out and awesome as I can.
Edit.
Okay, I have Zero-Zero.
That's covered.
Yay, video game saw the post and decided to make a comment.
The uninstall button.
The game is great in all that, but God, is it hard to fully remove all the junk it leaves behind on your system.
You really need to check out that mod when the time comes to get rid of it.
Otherwise, I think a Skirl's Oblivion overhaul is a nice start.
Deleted user.
What?
The uninstall button.
The game is great.
Ubisoft goes Steamworks by-bye.
Always on DRM.
But you oft go work.
Always on Work DR.
Check out the junk it leaves behind in you.
Deleted user.
Again, this makes even less sense.
Oblivion has an uninstall button.
It works.
I've used more times than I care to mention.
All mods install themselves in Oblivion's directory.
The uninstall doesn't touch them as it is unaware.
All you do is delete the Oblivion directory.
Yay, video games.
Steamworks, bye-bye.
Always on DRM.
Now this is where things start to get really dark.
It happened again.
Another episode, but this time it wasn't just 16 strange comments.
He posted over 4,000.
Let that sink in.
For a regular person, even typing 500 comments would take an entire day of nonstop work and commenting,
and that's assuming you're not eating, sleeping, or taking breaks.
But this guy managed to push out 4,000.
And here's the part that completely breaks logic.
Every single comment was unique.
Different wording, different sentence structure,
which means that he did not copy and paste the same phrase over and over again.
They were all manually typed, like he was in some kind of trance, just hammering away at the keyboard.
Some of the comments even had bizarre, low-res images attached them.
And it didn't stop there.
After the comments storm under the same post, he then created an entirely new thread with the exact same title.
Ubisoft Go Steamworks Bye-bye, always on DRM.
Then, the same phrase is repeated over and over again in the comments of the thread.
The situation worsened when he started spamming other random phrases in different subreddits.
LOL Binine, LOLL benign, LOLL benign, Explanation Park, and then so on for a long, long time.
And the spam didn't stop right away.
It actually dragged on from August into September of 2010.
Sure, he posted a few normal things here and there, but when you stack that up against
4,000 bizarre, unexplainable comments, the normal stuff barely mattered.
Eventually, the account was suspended and after that, nothing.
Complete radio silence.
But by then, the damage was done.
The Reddit community was hooked and people wanted answers.
None of it made sense until users started digging, and what they uncovered revealed a much
darker truth.
Suddenly, everything started to fall into peace.
For this, we have to go back.
Prior to the Steamworks incident because the Yay Video Games mystery actually involves four other Reddit accounts.
The first one being U-slash no substance here.
They made a post in the R-slash-cleannliness subreddit,
and all it said was one simple, strange sentence.
Zelda.
Zelda the Princess
Weird post, sure, but if you scroll down to the comments, that's where things get strange.
There's a username, Not Sure How Big You Are, Spamming the Thread with comment after comment, none of which made any sense.
Link, Link the hero, my hero, mine too.
Upvoted.
Upvoted.
Upvoted.
And the posts had weird phrasing and just odd wording.
However, we still see the OP somehow interacting with this user, like they were having some sort of cryptic conversation that no one from the outside could really understand.
Sounds familiar, right?
Well, yeah, it did to everyone else too,
because if you actually go and open the R-slash-cleannliness subreddit yourself,
you'll notice something strange,
something that ties it all back to, yay, video games.
Magic.
I need some for help.
I would not use it evilly.
He was there, too.
Now going back to the spam in the Zelda post.
We can see another user with the name U-slash vinyl record throw
another similar comment.
Zelda.
And if we open his profile,
we will see a familiar pattern
and a familiar user.
None other than
not sure how big you are.
I'm on vinyl.
I'm on vinyl.
Now, if you haven't guessed already,
all these accounts belong to the same user,
yay video games.
The reason is that all of these accounts
went inactive after the Steamworks incident.
Then, different Redditors did their own digging
and finally, the truth about Yay Video Games was revealed.
He was no ordinary person.
He had a history of trauma and bad experiences that made him behave that way,
and his fate was no less than tragic.
But before we talk about that, let's uncover who he was as a person.
A username, U-slash-geek gentleman posted a thread asking a very serious question.
Please share one major, major way in which CFS, chronic fatigue syndrome,
has shaped or influenced your life.
Under this thread, the user not sure how big you are made a comment,
a very detailed and chilling comment.
It totally f***ed my brain.
Not just normal brain fog, but total and utter decimation.
I can't hear my own thoughts sort of thing.
So I had to give up surfing, skating, mountain climbing,
whitewater rafting, hiking,
like week-long trips over mountains with tents and stuff fun,
roller hockey and free skating, which is just amazing.
The leader of our group used to time traffic lights so we could just blaze down city hills without any cars bothering us.
Objective was to gain enough speed to jump clear over the intersections.
One managed a few times.
And finally, urban exploring and just walking around at night and enjoying the atmosphere.
Ah, that got too long. I'm sorry.
So then I turned to my non-physical stuff.
Piano, keyboard, mixing and remixing, video recording and editing, animation, full deal, sound work, music composition,
voice acting, etc. But my brain gets fucked, so that's all gone. Oh, and fun story. While I was sitting
in my room in excruciating pain, my best friend whose band and I had to drop out of because of my mind
energy issues were touring in Russia and Japan. Right now they're in Germany negotiating a better
record deal and playing around a little in Europe while they're at it. It also got a small spot at
the little thing called whackin. And there's also the pain. So to sum it up, no brain to do things,
no energy to do things in bad pain don't know what to do also i was getting better a little while
ago but then i had a two-month flu and a few months later i still have a constant fever of 38 degrees
celsius no one knows why but i've been through three tests for cancer in the last three weeks so
apparently it's something bad and i guess at least they're trying go cancer yeah he was suffering
from cfs for those who don't know cfs stands for chronic fatigue syndrome sounds
simple, just being tired, right? But no, it's way, way worse than that. This isn't the kind of
tired you fix with a good nap or a good night's sleep. People with CFS wake up feeling like they ran a
marathon in their dreams every single day. It messes with your memory, your focus, even basic
stuff like standing up too long can make you feel like you're about to pass out. In the worst part,
doctors don't fully understand it. There's no single test for it. No clear.
cause and for a long time people who had it weren't even taken seriously. They were told it was
all in their head. The account, not sure how big you are, was an absolute gold mine for people
looking to uncover this mystery. It had really extensive comments and a lot of personal information.
It was then uncovered that this might have been his main account. And yet another comment made
by him, we get information surrounding his family, which is quite sad. Are there any successful
stories with their family? So I don't know how much help this will be.
be, but I drew my entire family out, pioneering mom, dad was the PO, two siblings when I was about
12. That was preceded by fucking awful shit, fights, abuse for years beforehand. But eventually,
I got them out with what was, I guess, essentially emotional blackmail. Actually, I'm not sure
if that's the right term, but there wasn't any logical debate or eye-opening involved in any case.
I confronted them with all the awful shit they subjected us to over the years, how unhappy we
always been over and over again until the fact that this life wasn't working, sort of sunk in.
I think the fact that this all started when I was young, threw them off balance, just enough for me
to get my foot in the door, so to speak. So, aftermath time. Mom can't set foot in the kingdom
hall because she's ashamed of all the things she did, and dad is stuck in limbo. The usual out,
but still a believer sort of story. I think the parents would be much happier now if they were still
in, but us kids need to are out then and there. So there you go. Finding a rational belief space
on emotion and not logical thought with appeals to emotion worked pretty damn well for me. YMMV.
He was also quite active in the ex-Jahova Witness subreddit where he used to talk about
his contrasting belief, so it is safe to assume that he was also dealing with moral, ethical,
and religious dilemmas. After that, I found another post on his account that revealed a darker truth
about him. He was also dealing with S word thoughts. So tired of being tired and getting worse.
Well, I do know that Kane yourself is either fucking hard or painful. I feel more or less like
you, so I had a shot. I ved a whole lot of certain anesthetic I get my hands on, took redacted
ridiculous amount of clonsopam, prepared about 1,800 milligrams of coating to watch it down,
and went to sleep with the exit international approved bag overhead tied with belt. And what do you
you know. I fucked that up too. Don't know how, but apparently oxygen got in because I was knocked out
for a good 12 or so hours in that thing, and yet I'm still here. Jesus fucking Christ. When will I get a
break? Actually, no brain damage was probably it. F*** you, God. I don't appreciate being a joke.
And then my circumstances improved, quite miraculously due to the outside force. Within a few months,
I'm aware that not exactly encouraging for someone in this, I mean, your situation, and I still wouldn't mind
not waking up tomorrow, I suppose, but there will always be some tiny sliver of hope somewhere
out there, and you can fight that shitty crippling, dignity-clined, fight for it, until you are
really need to sign off for good, all the while hoping for a miracle. And that's as far as I think
people like us can afford to hope. And unfortunately, Kay going to s that, you can learn to get
in the right mindset for that shitty slog. I've managed off and on. It's not great, but what the hell is?
So in short, now we know what kind of person Yay Video Games was.
He had a history of trauma.
He was suffering from a disease that had no cure.
And he was an ex-member of a religious cult.
However, the big question still remains.
Who was behind this account and what happened to him?
Well, you guys better be ready because all this information might be a little hard for some of you to take in.
For a long while, this mystery remained unsolved.
Many people tried to cover it, but they were always left with dead ends.
However, a Reddit user named U-slash L-L-N-K-3R did some digging and finally managed to connect all the dots.
There's one more account we need to look at.
Another alt.
This account went by the name U-S-Las-N-Slox.
In a post made by Not Sure How Big You Are, we find out that he was from Melbourne Australia.
Surprisingly enough, the user, Nebs-Lox was also from Melbourne Australia.
Don't you wish the radio was actually a means to find out new music?
Down here in Melbourne, Australia, we have, link name, among others, no playlist.
Every played is completely up to the host.
The user then found out that the user NebsLox had made posts about Love, Glumbuster,
in the La La Land series, which were a very unpopular game series.
Surprisingly enough, another alt of his named Pony Arcade had also talked about the game,
Glumbuster, along with the account that we started with.
That is, yay, video games.
Glumbuster, Corsicovia, love.
LLNK3R then also mentioned that there were only 29 comments ever made about the game,
Glumbusters at the time.
So this was a pretty solid lead.
Now, the main incident that gave it all the way was when the user NebsLox made a pretty similar post to what we started with.
A user posts.
What the fuck?
Reddor goes mad?
NebsLox answers by saying,
Ubisoft goes Steamworks.
Bye-bye.
always on DRM.
And surprisingly, the post was hyperlinked, which leads us to this.
Full circle.
Right back to where we began.
To top it all off, the user also found Nebslox's Steam account,
which created another connection as the profile picture on that account matched with one of the links.
Yay, video games hyperlinked it in one of his spam comments.
Now, you might be thinking, this is just another alt.
We still do not know what really happened to him.
Well, the user,
name NebsLox turned out to be his OG username, you know, the kind of username you created
when you were 13 and then stick with it for the rest of your life. It was then revealed that he had
used the name NebsLox on countless other sites. Like for instance, his Steam account and this site
and this site. However, one site in particular led to the big reveal. You see, he had an account
on last.fm. And if we go to his profile, we can see that he had his real life friends out of there.
Out of all these people, one person particularly stood out, Luke McLeish.
He had a member of a band called Jack the Stripper, in the account Not Sure How Big You Are,
had mentioned that band in one of his posts.
This connection then led people to connect all the dots as they found an interview that Luke
gave to an online magazine.
In that interview, he said,
My best friend, who I learned how to play music with and who was always a massive advocate
of the band and everything we've done committed S word last year,
January, says Frizon, and that's had a profound effect on everything I've done since that
point. He was my best mate and my first friend in high school, so it's been a difficult period
and it still reverberates emotionally. Yay, video games had committed S-word. And for a long while,
no one knew until some random Redditors and YouTubers made the connection. Later on, once everyone
had connected the dots, Luke actually came on Reddit to make one final post to sum up the whole story
in the yay video games.
The post read,
Hi guys, I'm Luke,
and I'm one of Yay Video Games' best friends.
Ask me anything.
First off, let me say,
it's a great surprise to see
such a big community around my best mate.
I had no idea about this until today.
His name is Lyndon,
and we lost him at the beginning of 2015.
Life hasn't been the same since.
Someone reached out to me on Facebook,
so I thought I'd come over here
and shed some light on Lyndon's life.
Lyndon was an amazingly kind and intelligent guy who was really creative.
He was constantly creating art and music, which he never recorded to my knowledge,
animation of which I have some of the archives, and he loved storytelling.
He had a small group of friends in real life as he bailed on high school and started isolating
himself due to his chronic illness in about 2005.
We miss him very much.
Due to his Jehovah witness background, he never really let us know the day he was born,
but based on bits and pieces I picked up over the years,
it would have been about his 31st birthday last February.
I know we would have loved that there's this much mystery around him
after he's left us, but I think there's some important topics to cover here.
R.E. chronic pain, self-medication, invisible illness,
the allied health system, and how important it is to seek to be among others in some way.
I hope that we can draw some closure out of this
and hopefully move a little closer towards having further understanding and compassion
towards people who may be in the position Lyndon suffered through.
This whole case turned out to be a powerful reminder of what Reddit can be at its best,
a place where strangers come together, not just to scroll or argue, but to truly care.
For years, the mystery behind U-Slacheye video games and his manic episodes was brushed aside.
Most people had no idea what happened to him, or even who he really was.
but then a group of users started digging.
They pieced everything together, one common at a time,
and in doing so, they didn't just solve a mystery.
They gave meaning to something that had once seemed like pure chaos.
I'd like to think that wherever he is now, maybe he felt it.
The care, the curiosity, the compassion.
Maybe. Just maybe.
It gave his spirit a bit of peace.
Carl H. All right, the next user we're diving into is a little different. He did things so messed up.
Some people now call him the most hated man on Reddit. And honestly, once you hear what he did,
you'll understand why. Now, this story isn't exactly neat. It's not laid out in one clean thread
or some dramatic post. It's scattered, but I've gone ahead and pulled it all together for you.
The account itself was made 18 years ago, ancient by Reddit standards. For a while, it looked
like nothing special, just a helpful guy, mostly posting about coding. He gave out advice,
answered questions, and seemed like a regular tech dude. This post on his account suggests just
how normal he was on the outside. Update. I'm thinking about starting a course soon on how to
build a real web application that actually generates income. I'd be live streaming the entire
process of programming and business planning, etc. Hello everyone. Two months ago, I made this post
asking if there would be any interest in this project. There was a great deal of interest in
and so I have launched the project.
I've already live streamed over three hours
to the approximately 2,500 existing subscribers
at R-slash live-stream startup.
Every session is recorded and made available
forever to watch so that if you aren't able to make it
for the live broadcast, you can still watch it after the fact.
This post has all the links to all live streams
and is updated constantly.
The whole idea here is to present a realistic picture
of what it is really like to work on a real project
in a true professional setting.
I'm not building some demo or example program, but an actual real and valuable web application
that will make revenue.
You get to watch the entire process from start to finish, from the idea phase all the way to
completion.
All of the code I write, setting up servers, planning, and all of the frustrations that go
with it, you get to see the entire process of building an internet startup.
Pretty normal guy who liked to code and hustle.
Then on September 25th, 2009, he made a subredic.
called R-slash Carl H. programming. At the time, it seemed like just another niche community,
but his timing was perfect. Back then, programming was one of the hottest things on Reddit.
People were obsessed. It was constantly trending, showing up in top searches and dominating
discussion threads. Carl knew that, and he took full advantage of it. His subreddit offered free
programming lessons, everything from how to write your first line of code, to more advanced
stuff most people would have to pay to learn. And people loved it.
The subreddit took off like wildfire.
New coders started pouring in, asking questions, joining discussions, and treating Carl like a trusted teacher.
Soon, he got really popular on Reddit and YouTube.
Though soon, trouble found him.
Reddit, can you please help me?
For five years, I have lived with this and I do not know what to do.
I hate to put something this personal out to everyone on Reddit, but I'm desperate.
Five years ago, an internet marketer agreed to do a venture with my company at the time.
He then tried to claim I owed him thousands of dollars in commissions, which was false.
He threatened that if I didn't pay him, he would ruin my reputation.
He posted a false rip-off report on me in 2005, a total lie, claiming I stole from his checking
account.
This now comes up as the number one result on Google when searching for my name.
In 2005, I started losing clients.
Sales became impossible to make.
Sometime later that year, I ended up losing the company, which was at the time, at the
time low end valued at $600,000. I lost everything. Those who took it over, ran it into the ground,
thus hurting my reputation even further. Obviously, I know that ripoff report alone didn't cause that.
There were a lot of factors, but the ripoff report certainly didn't help. The bottom line is that
for the last five years, I've had to struggle with the fact that the first result on Google,
for my name, is this ripoff report lie. I've lost great opportunities and it has been a great struggle.
Everyone does a Google search if they plan to work with someone, may claim even false, that you are a thief showing up on result number one doesn't help.
Just imagine if the first search result for your name was a lie claiming you are a thief.
How would that affect your friends, family, work, etc?
I've contacted Ripoff Report and they don't care.
It is bringing traffic to their site and so they will do nothing.
They do not even care to validate whether or not the claim is even true.
For five years, I have struggled because of that lie.
Even friends and family want me to explain it.
I did not do anything wrong.
I've tried to do good for others continually and to have all that shoved aside because of
one very loud lie I must admit is quite depressing.
Is there anything I can do here?
Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
Edit, totally unrelated, except in the whole let's mess up Carl's life area.
Another company has been selling stuff on YouTube slash Google Video using video excerpts of me
from a presentation I gave a few years back.
They never asked my permission, never paid me.
I do not endorse what they sell.
I don't really bother with that much because it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.
And the video probably gets three views a month anyways of that.
I figured I might as well mention that too.
The whole Reddit community really looked up to him, so they helped him out and it worked.
In one of his posts, he wrote,
amazingly, so many of you did this that for part of June 30th,
my name was actually the fifth most searched for item on Google Worldwide.
even beating Larry King on the day of his announced retirement.
Many of those searches came from people who just happened to see my name from your post
and went to Google to figure out why so many people were saying it.
Reddit, in a matter of less than 12 hours,
you shifted the search behavior of the entire internet
in much the same way of a major geopolitical event.
At least tens, if not hundreds of thousands of searchers
were done for a search term that prior to the point had few, if any, searches.
Things were working out really well for him.
His YouTube channel had gained over 34,000 subscribers, and on July 26, 2012, he was even named
Redditor of the Day, which was a big achievement for people on Reddit at that time.
In 2013, all of his accounts suddenly went blank.
People thought he had maybe gone on a break, but he never came back.
A few weeks later, something dark was revealed.
Around the same time, the FBI in Alabama came across disturbing content involving
a young boy who appeared to be around nine years old. Because the child was clearly a minor,
they prioritized the case and were able to identify and locate him in under a week. It turned out
the boy had been held captive for several months and there were two prime suspects for this heinous
crime who tortured him and filmed it all. The boy, as it turned out, was Carl's own son.
In that single detail shifted everything. At first, some thought Carl had gone silent because of something
tragic happening in his personal life. Maybe he was grieving. Maybe he just needed time. But instead,
he used that time to continue the harm he had been causing the child for more than two years.
When the news finally surfaced, one Reddit user shared a detailed article explaining the situation.
The community was stunned. No one had expected this. The same man who had taught them how to code,
who seemed helpful and kind, had been hiding something unthinkable behind the screen.
Carl's entire reputation collapsed.
His once praised posts were now filled with shock, betrayal, and outrage.
In November 2014, Carl Herald and his partner Charles Dunavant were officially indicted
on 30 separate charges.
Out of those, Carl alone faced 18, ranging from conspiracy to commit S and S.A.
to direct involvement in child abuse and aggravated assault.
Some of those charges specifically involved in child under the age of 12.
At that time, Carl was also in the process of being extradited in New York,
where he was facing federal charges related to CP.
He was set to appear in a federal courtroom in Syracuse on November 21st.
However, before that could happen, something much darker took place.
On November 3rd, 2014,
Carl was found dead in his cell.
He had hung himself.
His story had finally come to an end.
Nothing could ever undo the damage he had caused
or the pain the child went through.
But there was some comfort in knowing that justice had caught up with him.
The Reddit community, once full of people who admired his work,
never saw him for who he really was.
And watching him face the consequences brought a sense of closure.
His chapter was over.
As a bizarre twist of the story, nearly two years after Carl's death, his Reddit account suddenly came back to life.
Out of nowhere, a comments appeared that read.
As I posted a thread on 4chan, you can read upon it.
Yes, this is Carl Harold.
I escaped and incurrently in Russia, going to submit an AMA today for proof.
I, in fact, did fake my S word.
Naturally, ready users started digging.
They asked for proof.
Question everything.
And then the account responded again.
I escaped from a morgue.
Of course, it was obvious someone had hacked the account,
but in a weird way,
it felt like the perfect ending to Carl's twisted legacy.
His story started online.
It ended in a prison cell.
And then, for just a moment,
it came crawling back from the internet grave.
Tempto Tassoon.
After everything we've just gone through,
I'm guessing you're probably ready for something a little lighter.
Well, this next one is for you.
This one's more like a slow-burning existential dread,
the kind that makes you stop and question reality itself.
And it is a classic, so I hope you guys enjoy this one.
Have you ever felt a deep personal connection to a person you met in a dream,
only to wake up feeling terrible because you realize they never existed?
A parallel life, awoken by a lamp.
Throwaway account because,
This is really personal.
My last semester at a certain college, I was assaulted by a football player for walking while he was trying to drive.
No, he was 325 pounds.
I was 120 pounds.
While unconscious on the ground, I lived a different life.
I met a wonderful young lady.
She made my heart skip and my face red.
I pursued her for months and dispatched a few jerk boyfriends before I finally won her over.
After two years we got married and almost immediately she bore me a daughter.
I had a great job and my wife didn't have to work outside of the house.
When my daughter was two, she, my wife bore me his son.
My son was the joy of my life.
I would walk into his room every morning before I left for work and dotted on him and my daughter.
One day, while sitting on the couch, I noticed that his perspective on the lamp was odd, like inverted.
It was still in 3D, but just wrong.
It was a square lamp base, red with gold trim on four legs, in a white square shade.
I was transfixed.
I couldn't look away from it.
I stayed up all night staring at it.
The next morning I didn't go to work.
Something was just not right about that lamp.
I stopped eating.
I left the couch only to use the bathroom at first.
Soon I stopped that too as I wasn't eating or drinking.
I stared at that lamp for three days before my wife got really worried.
She had someone come and try to talk to me.
By this time, my cognitions was breaking up and my wife was freaking out.
She took the kids to her mother's house just before I had my epiphany.
The lamp is not real.
The house is not real.
My wife.
My kids.
None of that is real.
The last 10 years of my life are not f***ing real.
The lamp started to grow wider and deeper.
It was still inverted dimensions.
It took up my entire perspective and all I could see was red.
I heard voices, screams, all kinds of weird noises, and I became aware of pain.
a shit ton of pain.
The first words I said were,
I'm missing teeth and opened my eyes.
I was laying on my back on the sidewalk
strotted by people that I didn't know.
Lots were freaking out.
I was completely confused.
At some point, a cop scooped me up,
dragged or walked me across the sidewalk and grass,
and threw me face down on the back of a cop car.
I was still confused.
I was taken to the hospital by the cop.
Seems he didn't want to wait for the ambulance to arrive
and gave CT scans and shit.
I went through about three years of horrid depression.
I was grieving the loss of my wife and children
and dealing with the knowledge that they never existed.
I was scared that I was going insane
as I would cry myself to sleep hoping I would see her in my dreams.
I never have.
But sometimes I see my son,
usually just a glimpse out of my peripheral vision.
He is perpetually five years old
and I can never hear what he says.
Edit, 24 hours after post.
Never thought anyone would read this.
I changed the line so that
that it no longer seems that my two-year-old daughter, poor child.
I've never seen Inception or the Star Trek episode, so many have mentioned, but I will eventually.
I will not do an AMA.
I've had many PMs describing similar experiences in three posters stating,
such experiences are impossible.
I'd say more research needs to be done on brain functions.
Pre-med students, don't assume you know everything.
A few have asked if they can write a book slash screenplay slash stage play slash rage comic
etc. Please consider this tale open source and have fun with it. Delated user. This next post came
from a user who deleted their account not long after sharing it and no, it's not one of those
typical stories where someone talks about a creepy experience and leaves everyone hanging with
zero proof. This one's unsettling in a very real way because this time the story didn't
come alone. The OP also shared pictures along with the experience and just a heads up, they
looked disturbingly real. The Bridge. This is, was going to be short, but the memory sprung
into my mind a couple days back and I thought it would be worth sharing. I live in North Wales
United Kingdom, but for anyone who has had the pleasure visiting, it is truly a beautiful
place to live though, for an adolescent boy. It is certainly lacking in things to do. As a result,
my friends and I would often find ourselves mindlessly exploring areas of countryside and coastline.
Despite it being quite sparsely populated, in comparison to the closest cities, there's a dual
carriageway running right along the coast from Wales into England. Also, train tracks run
alongside this road for most of its course, occasionally passing overhead via a small cement bridge.
Anyway, there was one night a few years ago, but about four of us randomly decided to try and
explore the inside of one of these bridges. As one of the groups,
had observed a manhole cover nearby which we believed to be the entrance on closure inspection
we discovered that several tools would be required in order to gain entry we returned with the
necessary equipment and proceeded to unbolt the cover this had to be done stealthily as the train
track was right beside us not close enough to be of any danger but definitely a sufficiently
small distance to cause panic for any driver and panic usually means police it wasn't long before we had
removed the heavy steel disc and it started descending the ladder down into the structure.
Once we had all safely reached the bottom, we decided to progress to the other side.
At this point, we are totally confined into the narrow space that leads into the main area.
If you're confused as to what the hell this bridge is supposed to be, you probably should be,
because it was rather peculiar.
I mean, I would have never known there was even an inside had we not found the manhole.
So as we squeeze and crouch and at one point scrape along our bellies,
to the other side of the structure, there's a growing sense of claustrophobia between us.
The distance from end to the other is surprisingly long, but by the halfway point, you can look down
through narrow gaps onto the motorway below. This was actually pretty cool, which helped us keep
us calm in a strange way. At this point, apart from the mild discomfort and confinement, we were still
just a group of guys on an adventure. This was about to change dramatically. No more than a few
meters beyond halfway, which we could tell due to the cemetery of the passageways through the bridge,
one of us claimed they could see some object in the distance at the far end.
Slightly hesitantly, we agreed to investigate.
Bad move.
I reached the end first, and let me tell you, I have never felt the same sense of dread before or since.
In front of me was a single foldaway chair, position facing a wall.
On the wall was a partially torn page from a newspaper or a magazine, showing a single,
a fully naked lady in a neurotic position.
The reason I don't just refer to it as corn
is because something was different about it.
I can't put my finger on it,
but it seemed more sinister than sexy,
if that makes any sense.
More disturbingly, the eyes of the woman on display
have been cut from the page,
removed with precision, not just hastily ripped off.
The scene that lay before us
had rendered us completely speechless,
and an overpowering sense of panic
could be felt collectively.
That was when we found the condom.
The horrendous, gut-wrenching, blood-drenched con-drenched con.
Needless to say, we got the f*** out of there as fast as humanly possible.
Smashing our knees and shins against these sharp cement edges that lined the path to the ladder by which we had entered.
Of course, we are all praying to God that the man-made whole hadn't been resealed, as it was impossible to tell until you reached the ladder itself.
Thankfully, the exit route was clear, and we promptly
dashed as far as our legs could carry us. I'm sure this ending comes as a disappointment to some of you
reading this as we luckily never bumped into the twisted individual who sits in that chair,
but I must stress how radically out of the norm this was given where I live. The reason I mentioned
the population earlier was with purpose. There is easily enough people here to escape the realms
of crazy country folk, yet nowhere near enough people to have someone clearly lose grip on society
without somebody taking notice.
For example, there was literally only one homeless man
who everyone in the area knew and grew fond of,
eventually resulting in a mass gathering at his funeral when he passed away.
I sometimes think, though not recently,
as I had more or less forgotten about that night entirely,
about the person who climbs down into that bridge
and navigates through the darkness to sit facing a wall into God knows what.
That ends up with a condom full of blood.
You honestly couldn't envision a more surreal situation.
It has just come to my realization that what we unearth that night has not once been uttered to another soul.
As a naive teenager, it was the type of thing you just wanted to forget, but thinking about we probably should have just let the police know,
or at least someone know about what was down there, because it wasn't the doings of a healthy-minded individual.
So, there you have it. Apologies for the length. I got a little carried away as it is my first L.A.
NM posts and I wanted to make the reading experience as similar to the reality as I could.
Now I'm a few years older and hopefully a bit braver.
I'm considering going down there again, accompanied of course, to see what shit might be waiting.
This could well happen in the next couple of days and rest assured, I will 100% post an update
as I currently have no job, so time is plentiful.
Thanks for reading.
So, as you probably guessed, the user ended up going back to that same messed up place,
but this time he didn't just talk about it.
He posted pictures.
Edit, as promised, here are the photos from the return visit.
We went early evening, so there was still plenty of light,
and as a result, I have decided to use a simple filter on most of the outdoor shots,
simply to reduce the light and give it the eeriness it deserves.
I had forgotten that the passageways don't actually run all the way through the structure.
It is sealed off at the midway point,
so the slight dip above the supporting pillar is where the sinisterness
took place. This makes me wonder, is there anything untoward on the other end? If you look closely,
my friend's left hand can be seen gripping at Rung, the rest of him disappearing into the darkness.
When you're staring down this passageway, it is virtually complete darkness. You couldn't see
your hand in front of your face. To give you an idea of the size, you would definitely have to
squeeze through this on your stomach. It wouldn't be a super tight squeeze, but it wouldn't be
possible to crouch. Also, the slightly raised surface.
as you can see, just through this hole is an indicator of what the rest of the passageway leading
to the dip looks like, random ray surfaces and narrow gaps, making it impossible to stand up.
The user then wrote in the original post that the group that he went with to revisit the bridge
backed out so the pictures he had taken were not as detailed. Here's what he wrote.
Unfortunately, I hadn't adequately conveyed my plans to those accompanying me, and they had
presumed I just wanted to check out the small area before the entrance of the passageway.
as they had been there before.
When I expressed my wishes to navigate through the bridge,
they instantly nope the out of there.
As you can imagine, I was massively disappointed.
I hope to go back soon with a different bunch of guys.
But I can't promise when.
Perhaps if everyone who would like to see the re-returned visit
just leaves a single comment saying,
Update, I could reply to you individually
so you don't have to keep checking back.
Just wait for a message?
Just a thought.
A lot of people thought the story had ended there.
but some were still curious.
They wanted him to go back one more time,
just like he hinted he would.
And surprisingly, he kept his word.
He went back again.
The bridge revisited.
For any of you guys who missed the original post, you can find it here.
Early yesterday evening, a friend and I decided to embark on the revisit to this awful place,
in the hope of finding some remnants of the twisted scene that had been stumbled upon several years ago.
We are not disappointed, if anything, it was even worse than I had imagined.
Aside from what you will see in the photos, the general environment within the bridge structure
is practically uninhabitable, as it bloody well should be, and stomach turning to say the least.
The amount of dust in the passageways is actually quite unbearable, but that is nothing
compared to the constant stench that must be endured.
Also, the heat didn't help the situation either.
I won't ramble on, but I must express how vulnerable you feel when navigating through these tunnels.
Even with two of us, both carrying appropriate weaponry, the sense of evil was overpowering.
The tension is amplified tenfold by the fact that, had we encountered someone or something,
the layout of the structure and the multiple tight squeezes, mean a safe, speedy exit is nigh on impossible.
It truly is, a hellhole.
Without further ado, here's what lies in the bridge.
Enjoy.
Instantly, we came across what appeared to be a makeshift bed.
The sheet accompanying the foam suggested it would have been used to sleep on.
Going further into the passageway, it opens up slightly.
I included this to demonstrate the amount of dust particles in the air.
It was quite a pain to get any clear photo from any sort of distance other than close-ups.
This is the broken padlock that I believe would have originally secured the entry, not
even a third of the way through the bridge at this point.
A used candle.
Random piece of rope.
Now this is where things get a bit disgusting.
That liquid definitely wasn't milk.
That's a standard milk container in the UK.
And here was the first confirmation that the intense smell we're expecting was in fact human
feces.
The brown substance on the paper was undeniable.
This was the second more damning confirmation.
A bag with loads of human feces.
This nearly made us vomit, and sorry for everyone watching.
This also needs to be blurred for YouTube reasons.
Just as we approached the end room, we stumbled upon this disconcerning tape.
It reads,
Crime scene, do not enter.
The narrow entrance to the final opening.
At this stage, even with two powerful torches,
you honestly could not see if there was anyone slash anything in the end room.
This makes for a particularly nervy decision to proceed.
Here you can see how tight this section is.
Not fun.
The entrance to the end room taken with no flash to get an idea of what this may have looked like in candlelight,
which we presumed must have been the light source for this sick individual.
Truly, the stuff of nightmares.
All of the following images were taken inside this room.
Here goes nothing.
Literally the first thing I see after squeezing into the end room is a knife.
Oh shit.
Next up is this raunchy image.
which you may not be able to see properly, but the vagina area has been burnt through with a cigarette.
It is only a small hole, hence you may struggle to see, but very strange nonetheless, and for,
once again, the YouTube viewers, this will be heavily blurred.
More magazine pages on the floor.
You can tell from black sticky tape, these would have been once been stuck to the wall, and
sorry, once again, a random pile of items including scissors, tape, and a brush of some sort.
A rather large nail.
This could have simply been part of the structure at one point, but after closer inspection
of the surrounding area, it did seem to be an anomaly.
This candle had been melted into place onto the wall.
I imagine it would have been the main light source.
The only remaining page still attached to the wall.
This, unfortunately, is not the image I described in the original post.
If you zoom in, the top of the page has a date from 1997, suggesting this stuff has been here
for a long time.
And here it is, folks, the devil's chair.
There was so much dust in this area that I simply couldn't get a decent flash shot.
Another attempt, here you can see the bundle of items to the left and a blanket of some sort to the right.
We searched thoroughly, but rather worryingly, the blood-soaked cun was nowhere to be found.
This was strange, given the other items had remained.
This is a god-awful place to be.
And this is what you would see if the chair was facing the other way around.
You can see how these steps open up so you could stand up and also how it would be easy for somebody to hide in waiting in this area.
The same image just using torchlight to give you an idea of how dark this would have been, even with candles.
A bit of proof, if you will, that this trip actually took place.
Nobility Scooter 2012
Very glad to be leaving.
The final shot I took from inside the structure just before the exit.
ladder. And this was the lovely view that greeted us as we popped our heads out. I thought I would
include this as it did well to brighten our mood, and hopefully we'll do the same for you. Thank you all for
reading and being patient whilst I found the time to make the return visit. I hope you enjoyed it.
And that final sunset picture is almost poetic in a way because it wraps up their day and this
final story wraps up today's video. And in all honesty, this was the
most favorite video I've ever covered. These stories, these unexplainable Reddit users,
was so, so interesting to me. And in all honesty, out of every case I've ever covered,
that last one, by far my favorite. It is so disturbing, so weird, and so thoroughly covered.
And honestly, you know, honest and true, because he had pictures to back it up. It just made it
my favorite kind of case story, whatever you want to call it ever.
That was so interesting at the end.
And same with all the beginning posts.
Those were even more interesting as well.
But the final post, by far my favorite.
Let me know what your favorite was down below in the comments.
But yes, this video was just very, very interesting to me.
And I hope it was for you guys too.
Thank you so much for watching.
I appreciate you watching to the end of the video.
And like I said, comment down below, like the video, and subscribe to the channel.
It helps more than you will ever know.
And this was snuck.
And I'll see you next time.
Bye.
