As you come into stillness,
again, letting the attention go inward,
you might sense this body breathing
and feel the sensations,
the felt sense of the breath at the heart.
So you can feel awake awareness in the air,
of the heart, kind of a listening inwardly.
You might ask yourself what your deepest intention is right now
for being right here, for practicing presence,
feeling your intention.
You might deepen the listening and sense,
what really feels most sincere in you?
What's the longing?
What is it you care about?
A beautiful gateway.
a presence is to feel the aliveness and the awareness that fills the body. You might feel the scalp,
a kind of tingling there, feeling the brow, softening the eyes and letting the brow be at ease,
perhaps sensing a bit of a smile spreading through the eyes and aware of the tingling and
vibrating and light and dark that's in that whole region of the brow.
a slight smile at the mouth and feel the aliveness inside the mouth, the tongue, jaw,
gums, teeth.
Let their shoulders be filled with awareness so you can feel them from the inside out,
the space, sensation, energy.
And if there's a feeling of tightness or stuckness, just let that float in awareness.
Let the hands rest in an easy and effortless way.
Softening the hands and feeling from the inside out the awareness and space and aliveness inside the hands.
Let there be an openness to the chest.
And feeling from the inside out the area of the heart,
and it sense if you can notice the space, the aliveness, the awareness there.
Let this next breath be received in a softening belly.
This breath and now this breath.
And again, you can feel the aliveness and awareness deep in the torso,
relaxing down through the pelvic region,
feeling the length and the volume of your legs
all the way down into the feet,
widening the lens.
So you can feel this whole energy,
body simultaneously, tingling, vibrating, tightness or flow, pleasantness, unpleasantness.
This whole dance of sensation and energy is letting everything happen, not opposing anything,
including the play of sound.
You're listening not just with your ears but with your whole awareness, sensing the boundless
space that sound and sensation is moving in, unfolding in, boundless space filled with
the light of awareness. Rest as awareness, like a vast ocean aware of the waves that are rising
and passing, waves of sensation, thoughts, feelings. And yet the depth and the vastness
is the awareness, that which is aware.
It's quite natural for the mind to get lost inside a wave,
following a pattern of waves of thoughts,
lose sight of this vast, awake field of awareness.
When that happens, you can just unhook.
You can notice, oh, thinking, thinking.
And unhook.
relax open again and sense all the sounds that are here and the vast space they're happening in
you can re-relax the body in any moment and sense the aliveness and space and awareness that fills the
body you can re-relax the heart resting in wakeful awareness including the changing ways
of our moment-to-moment experience
when there's waking up to the fact of thinking
you'll notice that your mind was in a smaller container
you can unhook
and just re-relax open
and it's like the difference between living inside a cloud
and inhabiting all the space that surrounds the cloud
I'm not trying to get rid of the thought
to just re-relax open to inhabit
your natural awareness
resting in the awareness
that has that silence
that can listen to sound
a stillness
that can perceive sensation
and openness
that includes this whole
changing dance
of experience
from the Tibetan teachings.
Utterly awake, senses wide open,
utterly open, non-fixating awareness.
Utterly awake, senses wide open,
utterly open, non-fixating awareness.
