Starting point is 00:00:02 The following meditation is led by Tara Brock. To access more of my meditations or join my email list, please visit tarabrock.com. You come into stillness, let your attention come gently into the heart area, sense that you can feel the movement of the breath flowing in and out of the heart. And listen to your heart. Let there be a simple inquiry. what is my deepest intention right now for meditation?
Starting point is 00:01:21 What brings me here? Just ask and then listen. What is it that the wisdom of your heart is most turning towards, longing for, drawing you towards? What do you want? We sense what matters to us most and we sense in a collective way our collective prayer to awaken and have that awakening of heart-mind, really ripple out and touch all beings. Let the awareness scan through your body and notice if there's areas of particular
Starting point is 00:02:30 holding or tightness. And sense the possibility of just letting go a bit. You might sense the region around the eyes and soften the eyes and let the brow be smooth, relaxing and relaxing any tension that might have collected there. Let there be a slight smile at the mouth, relaxing the jaw. You might allow the shoulders to fall away from the neck. And feeling inside the shoulders, feeling from the inside out, sense the possibility of softening, releasing, letting go. If you deepen your attention, you can notice
Starting point is 00:03:44 the sensations, the places of knots or tension or tightness, but also a sense of the space that they're in. The space that's all floating in. The interior space, the space between the cells, the space that all the aliveness and energy arises out of. So even where there's tension, there's space. Hands rest in an easy and effortless way. What's it like to soften the hands and then feel them from the inside out?
Starting point is 00:04:50 And again, softening and receiving the sensations that are playing through space. Can you sense the energy in the hands moving through space and perhaps sense the space that the aliveness is emerging from? It's aliveness in space. You might sense an openness at the chest. And I'm feeling from the inside out the area of the heart. Again, sensing the energy that's there, tingling or vibrating, tightness, heaviness, soreness, vibration.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Sensing it floating in space, emanating out of space. You might loosen and soften the area around the belly, letting this next breath be received in a loosening, softening belly. This breath, now this one, and again, feeling from the inside out the whole dance of sensation in the abdominal area. See if you can sense the space that's happening in, the space it's arising from, the space between the cells, scanning down and with a receptive presence, sensing the pelvic region. Again, that whole dance of aliveness. Sensing the space that's all happening in. The space between cells,
Starting point is 00:08:17 the space the aliveness arises from. You might sense the length and the volume of your legs, and then feeling the feet from the inside out, the movement of the movement, of sensation, a space that it's happening in, a space it's arising from, so that if you widen the lens, you can sense this body as a field of sensations, a dance of aliveness, happening in space, arising and expressing from space.
Starting point is 00:09:46 See if you can imagine the space that extends in front of you out and out beyond the furthest stars and the space that extends behind you. Out and out. Beyond the furthest stars. And the space that extends out to the right, outward and outward and outward. Beyond the furthest stars. And to the left, outward and outward. Beyond the furthest stars and below you.
Starting point is 00:10:59 you extending out and out beyond the furthest stars and above you. Out and out, beyond the further stars. And can you imagine and sense that this exterior space and interior space is continuous? Now the space, eminating aliveness, continuous space, space. Can you imagine that this continuous space is illuminated with the light of awareness? Continuous space suffused with the light of awareness, just resting in that luminosity, being that luminosity. And can you sense how the heart, the region of the heart experiences this continuous space, this luminous, awake space, resting in this boundless heart space, living, loving awareness.
Starting point is 00:16:54 So for the mind adrift. You can invite yourself back by relaxing back, reopening the attention to feel the aliveness that's here and the space that everything's floating in, the space that everything arises from. Continuous space filled with the light of awareness. Continuous space suffused with the tenderness of love. Closing by sensing the heart space that includes your own humanness, sensing that you could hold this human life with really great tenderness and offering whatever wish or prayer most resonates in this moment that will bring healing and happiness and ease to your life. Starting point is 00:20:01 Knowing this heart space as boundless and inclusive and sensing how the whole world lives in your heart, the earth, our mother and all beings, we close together sensing our prayer for all beings that all beings might be filled with loving presence and held in loving presence, that all beings everywhere might know great and natural peace, that there be peace on earth and peace everywhere. May all beings everywhere awaken and be free. Namaste and thank you.
