See your kids can listen.
And Grandma June.
Cross.
I'm doing round the wicket.
Oh, that's...
Boulder!
Folder! Leaving a ball alone, Litchfield.
I think it's the wobble ball.
And it just nips back.
It jags back.
It's the nipbacker.
That is a beauty from Kate Cross.
An absolute seed.
That is a beauty from Cross.
Hello and welcome back to Novels
The Emergency Cricket Podcast with me Kate Cross
and you Alex Hartley
Hello
With you, champion of the 100
Where's your medal?
You're in your hat
Where is your medal?
Get that thing
We put it in a box didn't we?
Yeah, we put it away
We did put it away
Crossy
I know
Have you got neckache today from carrying it?
how good is that so good so good congratulations fine i'll put it on fine fine fine
yes look at that also i'm making no apologies for the fact that i'm basically
horizontal for this episode yeah you are you are completely completely lying down
i'm i'm i'm a bit i'm perched for anyone that can't see me because obviously it's podcast i'm just
like on, you know how people sit on a shay long?
A bit like that.
Yeah, that paint me like one of your French girls.
Just a bit half up, half down.
Grossie, you've won the hundred.
We've won the hundred.
Oh my God, Al, it was just, honestly, the best day.
Like, I've had a thousand text messages and Instagrams and stuff,
and I've started replying to them all.
And all I'm saying back is, like, how much fun I had and what a great day it was.
It's not only, like, how much fun you had yesterday.
how much fun you've had the whole tournament.
Yeah, it has been great.
The 100's always great.
We've always said it, haven't we?
And I remember three years ago
when I got shipped off across the Pennines
to the superchargers,
you said to me,
the 100 is the 100 wherever you play.
So don't worry about that.
And that's always the case.
But this has been great.
We've been winning, which always helps,
but it has just been such a fun month.
You've also, like, in the last three years,
found yourself a new little home?
and new little set of friends and like you've all gelled so much like I'm so so
pleased you've won I know it was so good and do you know what I think I I don't know
I found it quite weird how you can make such a home in a rivals dressing room like I probably
goes to show how like nice and environment women's cricket is domestically and stuff but
it has just been great and I'm so sad I'm so sad that I'm not with the girls today
like everyone's just dispersed and gone home and we're not like we should have booked
something in like a pub lunch or something today but we all all have domestic cricket on
Thursday so we've all had to disappear that's actually really sad isn't it it's like okay
yeah we won last night we celebrated and see you that's literally it like I didn't say
bye to half the staff because they didn't come out out with us um
But we had an amazing day at Lords.
Obviously, the benefit of playing the first game
is that you then stay for the men's game
and not going to lie, I didn't watch a ball of it.
In fact, no, I did watch one ball.
And I sadly remembered which ball it was
when I was with the cricketer that involved.
Let me guess you told him.
I was sat talking to Sam Hay and I was like,
was it you that got run out?
And that was the only ball that I watched of the men's game.
Oh, crossy.
But it's just so good.
Just sat in the dressing room, like,
did our fines meeting.
and that took about an hour actually
because everyone says stupid things.
I want to, before we get into
the nitty-gritty of yesterday, Crosset,
we have to talk about
you texting me the morning of the Eliminator
saying you've got a really bad feeling.
I don't know how we're going to digest
this whole weekend actually
because it's not just about yesterday.
Like, it does feel like we've had
such a memorable weekend.
And I feel really sorry for Dav
because she obviously had that unbelievable day
on Saturday that is career-changing,
probably life altering for her
and she's had 12 hours to digest it
before she's had to turn it all around
and try and do it again
and I thought she was brilliant yesterday in the final actually
I thought it could easily have had first ball
duck written all over it
but yeah I did have a bad feeling
and I couldn't quite put my finger on it
I've not had any feelings about any of the games
of cricket this summer but that was the one
I was just like oh something doesn't feel right
something's not quite right anyway it wasn't
the feeling wasn't for you it was for the men
yeah we said that didn't we said all probably because the forecast was a bit iffy and then the men didn't get to play which was a shame but obviously everyone everyone knows the rules going in there do you think dad's innings for the eliminator was potentially the best you've seen in the hundred easily
oh easily in the hundred completely easily in the hundred it's about right up there four four innings in my mind stick out and then
They've been games that I've played in.
One of them was Meg Lannning at Chelmsford in 2019, I think it was,
when she got about 140 off not many balls.
And that was a day where I was like, wow, this is obviously very hard to bowl that,
but we're watching something very special.
The other two are in the World Cup final of 2022 when Healy got that 150.
And then Nat followed it over at 140.
They were two innings that was like, wow, to produce those in World Cup.
finals is, again, very special.
Yeah.
And then DAVs.
But DAVs was different because...
She's 18.
That'll never...
Yeah, she's 18.
It's an eliminator.
She's had a good tournament.
She's, like, done her role at the top of the order for her.
She's had 150, but she's not been, like, in form.
So it was like, when, as soon as she hit that six off, was it Eva Gray, the one that
she just picked up when it went square.
That...
that was the one where I was like, wow, this, like, we could see something amazing here.
But she was, I just remember being like, my jaw being on the floor, being like, it's not ending.
It's not, she's gone again.
Wow, that's bigger.
The way she was striking the ball was like, I've never seen it before.
So Deandre Dotting got a 38 ball 100 in 2010, and that was amazing.
Harry Brooke had a 41 ball 100 in the 100.
So she's only one ball off that.
Did you see that she said that she needs to get in the gym
to take the 60s further?
I was like, but that I'd give you the same score off the same amount of balls.
You actually just needed to face one less dot.
I wonder how many dot balls she had in that, 41, 42.
It took her 17 balls to get her second 50.
That is just incredible.
Do you know who deserves a shout out though?
and we did really, really speak about this in the dressing room afterwards,
but ADR's role in that innings was so important
because she was, in the partnership of 75,
she was three off six or something.
It was crazy.
Yeah, Dav had faced 22 balls of the power play or something like that.
Like it was just mental.
Yeah, and then all ADR knew to do was to just get off strike
because Dav was on.
Like that's what you say, didn't you just,
If someone's on, get them on strike, and she did that perfectly.
And then I think ADR realized how good a pitch it was and was like, right, I want some of this.
And then obviously, Litch just did Litch thing.
She's been so, so, so consistent for us this summer.
Belsie gets not many runs, which is unusual.
Holly gets the first baller.
And then Nick Carey goes in and hits Grace Harris for 22 on five balls.
And it's like, but that got us over the two.
So I was padded up to going next.
and Lisa was sat next to me.
She said, like, there's 10 balls left.
We had 1-8-1, I think.
So she was like, even a runner ball here gets us to 191,
which is a good total on this pitch.
And then we got 214.
It was incredible, like, incredible.
Take me inside the dressing room,
because you've obviously won that game at the halfway stage.
Like, it would have.
You say that?
I didn't.
Crossy.
Oh, yeah, I don't really, I know you've rolled your eyes,
but 200 is a lot of things to change.
2014 but
but if anyone was going to do it
it was going to be Grace Harris and it was going to be on that pitch
yeah and I understand that and I do understand that
but the chance of her coming off were very very slim
they did the right thing putting her at the top of the order
because that's the only way they were going to win that game
yeah one of our coaches actually said like I wonder if they
after that set of five whether they shouldn't have opened with her
to just actually give her a bit of space to
so maybe put her at three to maybe just
you know even just get
five balls to just write okay
settle down a little bit
anyway you win the game I want to know what
what it's like in the dressing room
knowing you're playing a final the next day
it was actually quite calm
obviously everyone was so pleased with the result
and everyone was just so so
not over what Dav had just done
but
we have a little award that we had
so we got a team song we sound the team song
we got a little award that's a little purple duck
that goes to like the MVP player
and it doesn't have to be whoever's won the
like match hero award
that's not one of those little ducks
we picked up in a bar last year
no no no it's a bit bigger than that
a bit bigger than that yeah
but Belzy Annabelle Sutherland did this really
lovely speech where she just summarised
the whole game and gave everyone the shoutouts
they needed to and even for us to
take nine wickets on that pitch felt like
I know the team the spirit we're going to have to go
after the score so it was going to create more opportunities but even to take the nine
wickets felt like a a little win so um belzy did that and then holly obviously just and
Lisa just spoke about how you've got 24 hours what less than that to turn it around and
and back it up and try and go again so it was just all about doing the right things from there so
we stayed and watched the men for a little bit and then it rained obviously for the men um so
everyone everyone's probably in bed by half 10 11 but it's the sleep isn't it that you can't switch
off so I was just replaying dabbling in
because in my head I didn't get sleep until back two o'clock
it was so good wasn't it and then you turn up to loads the next day
Perry's practicing she's on the outfield
and you're like we need to warm up
yeah Perry's warming up did you hear what happened before we got there though
so apparently there's been a really bad road traffic incident
which meant that a helicopter needed to land on the nurse ground
so that they could airlift the passenger to hospital
so then everyone's preparation got completely changed
because no one was allowed to go and have hits, obviously, on the outfield, on the nursery ground, sorry.
So that kind of threw over on a little bit, but I think in a way, that was really good
because it almost switched people, not, didn't switch people off, but it made them think
a little bit differently, and I think that was a really good thing.
Yeah, yeah, it was almost like, not a distraction, because it's almost like, okay, that is what it is,
that it's an emergency, there's nothing we can do.
Yeah, and almost like, that's real life, like, someone,
obviously really hurt themselves
and whatever goes on today
it probably really doesn't actually matter
in the grand scheme of things
and it kept the group together
a little bit longer as well
because we then all went upstairs
into the dining room and had food together
and normally like the battles are on and off
and having the hits so
but no that was obviously
Perry then was warming up
so we weren't allowed to do some other bits and pieces
but then you're playing in a final
at Lord's like it was amazing
you find a way to get
up for it, are you? Yeah. I actually think in 2020, when did we play the final, 23, played against
Brave, didn't we? We had the Eliminator against you the day before and it rained and we got
through. And I remember struggling because I never like got to the finish of that game. So you
never got the like disappointment of losing or the jubilation of winning. You never got the
adrenaline rush finish from it. So I actually think us playing and completing the game in the
was a really big part of us going on to win yesterday
because in 2023 we got three key wickets in the power play early
and I remember us being high as kites,
we were flying around chasing Gracie Ballinger around when she got Smitty out
and then I remember we kind of nosedived a little bit with our energy and our adrenaline
so I actually think we were able to stay a lot more level yesterday
for the whole of the day.
Yeah, and bowling first, after 50 balls you were so on top.
And I know
Frey Kemp came in
and she got 26 off 20 balls or something
like she started biting really nicely
but as soon as you got her out
you were, it was like
you are winning this.
Yeah, I remember thinking
with about 15 balls to go
it might have been 20,
we got a wicket.
Can't remember who we got out
but I remember saying to the girls
there's 19 balls left now
like this is actually the moment
where it really matters
because if they go and get 30 or 40 now
that's again the momentum
completely shifts
because I felt like the first innings, the momentum did keep shifting, didn't it?
It was like not much happened.
Then we took a few wickets.
Then they got a little partnership.
Then Belze got Danny out.
Then Kempi came in and built a partnership again.
So it kind of like ebden flowed all the way through the first innings, I thought.
I think if you ever watch it back, you'll realize just how on top you were, honestly.
Really?
Yeah.
If you ever watch it back, they were going to run a ball.
They didn't look like they were going to get 115 on the board.
They did well to do that because Maddie came and smacked a few boundaries.
It looked like they were going to finish on like,
That's so interesting how you feel different when you're involved in it.
And again, obviously we chased it down, three down.
But there were so many nerves in the dugout just because it's a final and you're so desperate to win.
But then when you look at the scorecard, you're like, oh, we won by seven wickets.
It was quite comfortable.
Yeah, yeah.
I want to talk about your tournament.
Because you have had an incredible tournament.
We were looking, we've taken 15 wickets.
I have had two extra games.
No, stop with the humbleness.
Stop with the humbleness.
You've got the most power play wickets.
You and Marisand Cap right up the top.
Like, you've just, you've smashed it, genuinely smashed it.
I actually, I've loved it though,
and I think we always talk about that on this podcast, don't we?
Any kids ask us for advice?
It's make sure you keep enjoying it.
That's the main thing.
And obviously, I've probably not enjoyed my cricket as much this summer
for obvious reasons.
But I always know how much I love the environment
with the supercharge
and I think Holly brings the best out of me
I think she brings the best out of everyone
she's said it to you on that interview yesterday
she'll go so unnoticed for how much
she is able to bring a group of 15 players together
and make everyone have the best time
and all be aligned to one goal
like it obviously can't speak for them
but I would imagine even the four girls
who didn't get a game probably had a great month
yeah it looked like they did last night
everyone had a great night last night
but yeah I've enjoyed it and I think
we spoke about it didn't we but I had a tiny little bit of technical stuff
that I did right at the beginning of the tournament
and it feels like it's really helped me out
and helped me get a little bit that movement back
that I'm probably more known for so it was just nice
like I've loved I love this team I love contributing to it
but what is it about this team you've played for so like
I'm not saying for so many teams I make she sounds like a cricket
like you have played for a lot of teams
but there is something about you playing for
the supercharges that always, always makes you smile?
I don't, I can't even, we have fun, like, but I don't know why it feels different to anything
else, maybe because we're so clued into what our roles are.
And I was talking to you about this on the train, like, obviously I've been quite stressed
the last month, but when I got out on the cricket field, I just know what I'm going to
deliver, I know what Holly wants me to do, I know if it doesn't,
go well what my plan B looks like and I know if Dandre Dottin gets going that I'm going to go to
this plant like I think there's just so much clarity around what everyone does and then I think
we had batters in form we had bowlers who bowled well so you never necessarily needed the sixth
the sixth bowler well like we only bought lucy if a left hander was in so it's very tactical
so I think there's just an element of calmness when you're playing as well there's no
even in the hundred when it is chaotic it never feels like that when holly's in charge
I think there's something about Holly Armitage.
There is something about her
and what she does and what she does to teams
because personally, in my opinion,
I think she's the best captain in the country.
But like, you make a mistake
and she's laughing.
You do something and she's smiling
and she's running up to her and she's like,
you can tell she's just cracking a joke
but then she'll talk to you seriously about cricket.
I think the way she manages people from the outside,
I don't know, there's something about her.
she doesn't change
she is the exact same holly on the cricket field
as what you'd get on the bus
as what you'd get on the night out
as what you'd get for the coffee in the morning at breakfast
she's exactly the same
and obviously I completely agree with you
I think she's one of the best captains I've played under
but she's also so calm in those moments of
so there was a really good example of it yesterday
where Gracie B got hit for two fours
in her she followed her first set of five
and did the ten straight through
she got hit for two fours
and she's gone over to Grace and said,
should we do this?
And Grace, which is so honest, she said,
no, I just think they were two really poor balls.
And she's like, right, perfect.
Go back and execute then.
Go back to Plano.
Yeah.
Just calm.
And I think that breeds calmness
with the bowlers as well.
Yeah, there's no panic.
There's no panic.
Anyway, do you've won the 100.
We've won the 100.
Honestly, though, I don't know how to show people
how heavy this medal is.
Maybe if I bang it on the mic for it.
No, no, no.
I can tell you.
Oh my God, I can tell you how heavy it is, Crossey.
Oh, I know this story.
So, right, I want to just say a quick note to this is how much the Northern Superchargers are a gem of a team, like a genuine gem of a team.
I've obviously done the post-match interviews yesterday and then it's like, right, okay, see the Chargers, give them all a hug and say, like, good luck, well done, sorry, well done, enjoy your night.
every single one of your teammates invited me
one to the team room and two on the night out
every single one
like just genuinely nice people
so what did someone call us the other day
the super swillers
which we're not obviously
but we were last night
I thought you meant me and you then
you were the super swimmers right
the story of the medal
so Holly Armitage the captain
it's like
she's like it's so heavy
I can swing it around my neck
And I reckon I could do it like 20 times.
So she's like, gone to swing this medal around the neck.
And I'm just stood with her, like next to her, holding my glass.
And it's full to the brim.
You've just bought it.
It's literally like, you know, when you've got really close to sit it
because it's that full.
She knocks it with a medal.
She doesn't touch any part of my body, just the glass.
And it's shattered.
Like, absolutely shattered.
I remember getting wet on my leg
and I was like, what's that?
And then I turned around and you just stood there holding half a cup.
I was still like, what's just happened?
Turn around and all these medals dangling off her shoulder
and she's like, it's quite heavy actually.
So she started doing that in the dresser
and she's like, it's well heavy.
I bet I can swing it around my neck.
And she started doing it.
I was like, stop, stop that now.
That looks really dangerous.
And anyway, then this morning I caught her with her
before she got the bus back up to Headingley.
And she went, oh, crossy, I knocked a drink out of Al's hand.
I was like, yeah, no, I didn't know it was because you're metal swinging, though.
And then she went, and I hit myself on the head with her.
I've got a right lump on my bun.
So she's got this massive lump on her head here because it flew up and here on the head.
Well, she said, she was like, oh, I'm so sorry, I'll get you another drink.
She went, but you should be grateful it wasn't your teeth.
It's like, I mean, yeah, if you want to do it like that.
she is she's brilliant and she she yeah she just brings a team together it's just she creates fun and it
nothing feels pressure and that's like such an incredible ability to have when you're leading a group
of people because she will feel pressure and she's yeah i feel like we should probably speak to her
should we actually should i want to get dav on obviously and i want to get holly on because
just the way she's gone about the last few years i want to know what she actually feels and things
Holly. She was like, but she was carrying the big H, she was like, hey, it's for Holly.
H for Holly. The way she carried that trophy, like, it was the lightest thing in the world.
It was like, so heavy. So heavy. Literally so heavy.
Oh, no, Crossy, like, genuinely. A great night. Well, it was all right, actually. I'm not going to lie. It was an all right night.
But I just, I nearly cried when I was running over to interview you because I'm just so,
proud of you like genuinely that's i you caught me at the moment where i just had a little tear
in my eye because i'd hugged febe graham on the pitch obviously we ran on we celebrated in the dugout
ran on hugged belsey and nick nick by the way just completely gone under the radar here
but had an unbelievable tournament say that she's come from preseason hadn't played any cricket
anyway um so yeah i'd then sort of seeing phoebe and i'm really good friends with febes and
she was playing for the Southern Brave
but I hadn't got a game in the tournament
and she just gave me this massive heartfelt hug
and it was like that
it just got me going and I just had these tears in my eyes
and then the cameras come on to you and you're like
no I don't want to cry
and then you grabbed me and I was like
okay I'm going to cry in the BBC
cheers
yeah so on the tweets there
and we saw you cry on the telly but proud of you
I am I think to get the news
that you got halfway through the 100
and for you to still manage to enjoy it
still manage to play this smile on your face
you've won another trophy this summer
you're second in the summer
like you're a FA Cup in the 100 now
yeah you and we've got one left to go
England don't know what they're missing crossy
you're a winner
thank you Alex
when you're on you're on
I um I um obviously we've got like four games
to go back and play now for the
for the Metro Bank and they're 50 over cricket
and I was trying to comprehend
I got I got a
I got a 10
I got a taxi with Grace Ballinger
to the train station this morning
and as I got out
I was like good luck bowling your 60 balls
on Thursday Grace
compared to the 20 that you have to ball
in the 100
it's so going to be so grim
well to put anyone in context
of how hard it can be
to go from 100 cricket
to Metro Bank I reside
yeah you did didn't you
this is what killed you off
yeah I didn't come back
the thought of going back
I'm doing fine leg to find life for 50 overs, put a knife in it.
You were half gone before then, to be fair.
You can throw, could you?
Your shoulder was gone.
No, I'm mentally cooked.
Do you know what yesterday did make me realise, though?
And I don't know why it's taken this long to realise,
is that there's still so many great days to be had in cricket.
Like, obviously there's so many crap ones.
But yesterday was up there as one of my, like, top five in my...
career and it wasn't for England it wasn't a World Cup it was just a great group of people playing
great cricket at the home of cricket in front of 22 nearly 23,000 people and it was just like
that's the thing I probably need to remember over the next couple of weeks yesterday is why you
play the game yeah for those moments and as you say there's still so many more opportunities for
those moments.
Yeah.
Crossy,
I'm so proud of you.
I'm not sure Beckin'am on Sunday's going to feel the same.
Yeah, no, there might be slightly different.
It might be slightly different.
Right, crossing.
Alex's email does, is it you?
Yeah, we wish.
A couple of questions have popped into my mind I was hoping you could help me with.
To Kate Cross specifically,
you seem to bowl with a towel tucked into your back pocket.
Isn't it a risk of falling out?
Or do you use clothes pegs to pin it in?
place. No, I don't take any clothespegs out on the pitch with me. Tuck it in your waistband,
aren't you? Yeah, it is a risk it falling out, but I get really sweaty hands, so I try and
like wipe my hands before I touch the ball to bowl it. So that's why I often have a towel there.
But it fell out, actually. Was it yesterday?
It's a dead ball, isn't it? No, in the Eliminator. Yeah, if you bowl it, if it falls out
when you bowl it and you get a wicket, then it can be a dead ball. But if the batter just carries
on and it's happy, then it just plays as a ball.
Alex Seder says to both of you,
when batting, that's always a dangerous
start to a question. When
batting, do you prefer a gloved
fist bump or a bat tap?
I'm seeing far more of the latter this year.
I think the bat tap's quite sexy.
It's got more sexy, hasn't it? I wouldn't say it's sexy,
but it's got better. I remember when it first started,
I was like, oh no, I don't like that.
But like, think Annabelle Sillan hits that lovely
straight six at Hedley and then
taps a bat with a mate
I'm like
put that on the feet
yeah
and also you don't then have to go
onto the same side as your partner
so you just reach the bat across
yeah no I'm I
if I was to be a batter
I'd be a battapper
but knowing my partner

Kate on being on the winning team. You question why the male what? Oh, appendage.
Ah, ah, ah, the Hampton. You questioned why a Willie was referred to as a Hampton. Derivation comes
from the Courtney rhyming slang and a suburb of South West London Hampton Wick. Enough said,
keep up the pod. Best wishes David. Do you reckon it was my dad? Probably. It's probably. It's
Probably my dad.
Yeah, yeah.
Riley has WhatsApp us, which is nice, because you can WhatsApp us now.
We'll do the numbers in a minute.
Hi, Alex and Kate.
I recently visited Headily to watch Kate play,
and I had a great time, and somehow after the game,
saw the one and only Alex Hartley in the car park.
So I was wondering, have either of you ever met someone famous in a random place, e.g.
A car park.
That's good.
That's good.
I once said hello to Gary Linneker, because I thought I knew him.
And then it was after he walked past, I realised I didn't know him.
I just know him off the telly.
Do you remember when you met who you thought was Steve Bryden?
No, no.
You thought it was Hugh Grant, didn't you?
I thought I met Hugh Grant on the train.
It was Steve Briden or whatever he's called.
And you were adamant.
I was like, oh my God, oh my God, I'm on the train with Hugh Grant.
Still Bill's famous, though.
Hugh Grant doesn't get the train.
They're still both famous though
I bumped into
Gorka from Streetly Come Dancing
in a coffee shop last week in London
that's cool
Nice nice
Didn't say hi to him
Because obviously was too nervous
Yeah Chris Hoy
I bumped into the coffee shop here
Nice
That's a good
He's very famous
He's so famous
But there's always famous people
At the BBC buildings
You just got to interview Perry Edwards yesterday
That's pretty cool
She's well famous
I can't believe that
We've just spoken about your day, not about mine.
I interviewed Perry Edwards.
You actually said to me on the train that you didn't have a ball off
until the 50th ball of the men's second innings or something?
Yeah, so I do a 50 ball in two in the men's innings, well, both innings.
But yeah, after that, I finally got time off.
I was absolutely cut.
Bless you.
And then you go again.
One day cricket starts for the boys.
Yeah, Jack's producing that one.
And I did have to say, you're going to have to remind me.
There's a high chance I'll forget.
There is a really good chance you'll forget.
And you'll also be like, oh, this is so boring.
It's going on so long.
Oh, my God, 50-over cricket.
Oh, I was joking with the girls before we left
because obviously we'll play against them all in the coming weeks.
And I was like, should we all just make them 20 over games?
Yeah, nice, yeah.
But that is obviously not allowed.
Yeah, no.
And probably match fixings.
And didn't get spoken about you, just lying.
Yeah, no.
What are our details, donkey?
You can get in touch with us.
Gone.
No balls are cricket, no, no, no, no balls.
Oh, tell me how to drink last night.
No balls podcast at BBC.co.com.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I've just remembered an image of you last night.
Oh, no.
Bopping round the dance floor.
In an overly invincible's cap backwards
and a pair of sunglasses and your kit and your medal
and you just looked like a right daver.
Didn't you take a picture?
No.
Someone did.
I think ADR might have done.
That was, I owe an public apology to Sakib Mahmood because it was his hat.
He put it on me, put it on back to front and his glasses.
And then I went over to show off in front of the girls.
And then Holly Armitage was like, you look like a right idiot.
Whip their hat off and just threw it.
Oh, no.
So Sakeed text me this morning.
He was like, I'm still annoyed you lost my hat.
We don't know where it went.
Oh, it's disappeared.
Disappeared.
Oh, no, that is a nice, because they're nice hats.
So I was like, I'll go to the club shop and get your new one.
I'm sorry, mate.

Welcome to the Wayne Rooney show.
Twice a week, Wayne Rooney, Kay Kerd and me, Kelly Somers,
break down the biggest stories in the Premier League and beyond.
As much as you'd like to say it, loyalty in football nowadays is no existence,
whether that's fun players or managers.
Plus, we'll hear the funniest, wildest and most outrageous stories from Wayne's career.
The Wayne Rooney show.
Everybody's talking about it.
Listen on BBC Sounds.
Most travellers stick to the highlights.
But in Turkey, if you go off the beaten path, you'll experience a whole lot of adventure.
Like the St. Paul Trail, where cyclists chase the thrill, or Euler where you can kite surf to your heart's content.
For exploring on your feet, hike up to Mount Lemurred or walk in Patara through ancient civilizations that might reveal the history of humanity itself.
Plan your detour at go-turkia.com for a gripping adventure.
Thank you.
