Welcome to the 40K lore cast.
Welcome to 40K lore cast.
It's me, John Barcati and Bradchester.
This guy.
Today's cast, we're covering the evil Eldar, the Drew Kari,
who might be the most evil faction in all of 40K,
because there's chaos, but...
Yeah, I mean, you're like,
chaos has people that are overriding.
Chaos gods are making you do stuff.
You know who the dark elder have making them do stuff?
Just nobody.
Yeah.
Miss them.
So before I begin, as always, please like and comment in the podcast.
In the last two months, we didn't bring up in the cast very much.
But we got in the top 100 spot in over four countries, the top 200, another six.
And we've been holding that.
So anyway, for those of you who are helping us do that by just listening to the cast, liking and commenting, I cannot thank you enough.
It is awesome.
And it's getting, it's rocketing my joy.
Additionally, as we always bring up, we have a Discord.
The link is in the show notes.
If you're on Spotify or any channel, you can go to the description of the show.
The link is right there.
We're now over 3,000 members and still growing.
Thank you, Kevin, and the community there for helping this thing grow.
Kevin restructured it to make it actually possible to engage with 3,000 people.
We've got tons of channels.
Also helps my coaching request immeasurably.
You're still going to have to say it.
I will still put out the email.
For those of you who are listening to the cast and are kind of to have interest in it,
it can be anything as my.
as a, hey, I want to know more about this topic.
Anyone have some good literature requests?
Or it could be something, hey, I'm thinking about maybe playing 40K, any advice.
Or just, you just want to mess around, post memes and joke around.
We've built this incredible thing on Discord.
It's so positive.
It's so healthy.
And that's the part I really love about it.
It's a place you guys can come into.
No one's getting upvoted or downvoted.
No one's getting flamed.
It's just a great place to interact.
Also, it is the best place to tell me that I got something wrong.
I have taken a lot of comments.
Not enough.
Not enough.
Making fun of GW for calling the Treaty of Olympus, no real reason.
And then namely Discord and also some Spotify comments,
point out there's the Olympus Mons on Mars and basically, John, you're an idiot.
Accurate.
So sorry.
Got that one wrong.
And anything else I miss, by the way, guys, please jump in and tell me.
This is why we made the Discord.
It was not a like, oh, we made a Discord.
Then people go over there.
I'm in this multiple times a day.
Like most of a lot of the day I'm in there.
So if you have a comment, you have a criticism, you have a request, jump in and I
couldn't love it more.
Also, go into the channel.
The channel I love the most.
Actually, I love a bunch of the channels, but future casts, we really take that seriously.
We really want your feedback.
We'd love to hear what you want to hear.
And we take all of them seriously.
We might not get to them right away because 40Ks, huge.
Yeah, but you'll see we'll usually respond with something in there.
There's some really good ideas.
Like, we're going to do the new one that came up recently was Badasses of the Imperium,
where we're just going to do a cast talking about just certain characters where we couldn't
make a full cast out of them, but just certain Imperium characters who just are pretty badass.
I mean, I'm already down with that.
Yeah, exactly.
This is great.
There's because there's tons of them where it's like, oh, they didn't get a full book, but they got something.
Same with some questions about, yes, the Minotars are going to get covered.
Yes, the Lords of Terror.
I want to talk about the only imperial fists that I like, Tor Garadon.
Tor Garadon's very good.
That's one thing is we're going to do some.
These are great ideas.
And if you've got some, give them to us.
We will happily steal them.
Also, I do need everybody to know, as usual, I said Tor Garadon and I made a gesture.
I got my hammer ready to go.
Yeah, we're going to have to do some live events at some point in the future.
And everyone's going to see how physical we are when we see it.
It's going to be really embarrassing.
I mean, I'm an Italian.
It makes more sense.
You're just from Toledo.
I'm a crazy person.
I get up multiple times during our cast.
Yeah, it is actually funny.
Additionally, there's a link in the notes to our Patreon.
Again, it's something that we put together.
For those of you who like what we're doing, if you want to help us out, we really do appreciate it.
We use it to purchase audio equipment.
We've reached to purchase editing equipment.
You've got an audio engineer doing stuff.
Don't worry, all of the wine comes out of my budget.
It's also gone today.
I'm very sad about this.
I mean, there's a limit to have.
You have to drive home.
I'm already home.
I'm good on wine.
But anyway, for those of you who've already given,
we do hope that you've seen the real improvement in the audio.
For those of you want to help us out, it's great.
This is something that we use to really do fun to the cast
and do more, larger and greater things with it.
It helps a ton.
Yeah.
Everything from the sound, I mean, it's mainly the sound.
It's an audio cast.
What else do you want to have?
But what the feel?
We're going, what sense are you going?
I mean, more wine.
Yeah, the texture, the text.
the texture of the cast got a lot better
since I started giving them Patreon money.
Thanks, Brad.
As soon as the patrons gave more money,
you put the seat back down
so I could touch the damn ground.
That's just the whole things I do to mess with Brad.
Brad comes to my house.
I said before he gets here,
so I'll randomly just move stuff around
to see what he notices.
My feet are touching.
I mean, it's my tiptoes, but still,
my feet are touching ground.
I can't actually put the whole...
Yeah.
We also have now updated our website.
It's the 40KLorecast.com.
We have all the links in there, Discord, Patreon.
Merchandise.
So merchandise is technically a coming soon.
I don't know.
It's on Etsy.
If you go to Etsy and type in 40K Lorcast on Etsy, you'll find us, but I'm actually linking
it back into our website.
That will be live at time of release of the cast.
It's not there at time of record.
Makes me sad.
It's bad.
You know, I will be wearing, I'm going to buy our, I'm literally buying our own merchandise,
by the way.
Yeah, my beanie is upstairs.
But last little bit I want to touch on, though, of course, is Brad's coaching services.
Brad is a coach of War I'm 40K.
He's been a coach for over about a decade now.
He's been playing for over 30 years.
He's got massive amounts of experience.
For anyone who is, you know, either you're new to the game and playing the game for a while, however it is, if you're looking for just kind of a way to get better at the game.
Or just get into the game.
Yeah, Brad's, well, you're always getting better at that point.
No, I'm saying, but I'm entry level, though.
I'd love to teach people to how to play the game.
And it really honestly, one of the people I play with is a Brad coaching client.
Like I play against Brad coaching client.
But he does do a very, very good job of helping people understand some of the basic mechanics of the game.
But I also really, I want to throw this out there.
I just enjoy doing it.
Oh, yeah.
I just like, like I want to have other people experience my love.
Yeah.
And it really is.
And Brad's, yeah.
And he's not the South Philadelphia high school football coach I had where he just yells at
you the whole time.
I didn't realize that we had so much baggage coming to the cast.
I just just think about that.
Someone does a bad deployment when your coaching session.
You make him take a lap.
I'll see you in a minute.
But if you're looking for Brad's coaching,
originally we were sending everyone to the website,
but then I got a bunch of complaints on Spotify and Discord
that they missed Brad yelling at the email address.
So come on, Brad.
Let's aid the world of identity.
I'm leaning in and I'm,
flexing up.
Where can they meet you?
Old man, Brad 40K
at Gmail.com.
I feel like I was going to mess that up.
Yeah, I was actually where you're going to get halfway through and run out of air.
It's just old man 40K.
Just pass out.
I got a little too excited about it.
It's like when people break happy birthday on a cake and they start,
the lettering space.
Big ass age.
Big age.
Uh-oh.
Little P.P.Y.
So, anyway, on to the Dukari.
Before we've been to get in the cast, little disclaimer.
Drew Carrey.
Little disclaimer?
Yeah, this is important.
Drew Carrey are Eldar.
Brad and I love Eldar.
With a passion.
This one might get a little, this one's going to get a little long.
It's going to go a bit.
This is, when we do a lot of these cast, they'll be candid.
Like, there's some groups we know more about than others, and it's just passion.
Brad and I have a lot of passion towards Eldar, so this is one that you're going to hear a lot more out of us with.
It is why it is.
So let's start with the Drukari.
What are they?
The Dukari are the remnant of the Eldar population, but they're the one that caused the fall.
Oh, for sure.
Yeah.
100% no question.
They are, they're also not a much like the Eldar, they're fractured, but they're much more
fractured than the Eldar.
They're really made of three factions-ish.
But they're also, and we'll talk about this with a dark city, three factions fractured
over a fractured city, which is not a city.
It's an idea.
The Droucarry are pirates.
They're a pirate plutocracy is the best way to explain it from like kind of,
if you look at it historically.
They work in small bands and then those small bands will then band together into larger bands
and then larger bands and larger bands.
But at their core, the Dr. Carrey could splinter in a second.
There's not like-
Yes, but they have, which will go into a pretty big personality that holds a lot of the shit together.
But it is, but it's cult of personality.
What I'm saying is the difference is like the elder.
He goes away.
Yeah.
Shits.
That's like,
the Eldar don't fracture.
Like,
within a craft world,
the craft world does stuff.
The craft world is the exception of Samhane,
which is the one that's...
Samhane.
The rest of them all just kind of follow whatever.
Well,
it's Sam Hain and a little bit I'll talk.
LEO talk.
Sorry.
They're awesome.
But the big thing about the Chakari is
the Jukari accidentally
to survive the fall.
Yeah,
basically, yeah, purely by chance.
The key thing about the Jokari
before we get in,
into them. I just want to kind of go in a quick overview is that they're not pirates who raid for
like resources and valuables. They're rating for souls. Yep. And this is why the Dr. Khari
may be one of the most feared races in the galaxy. I mean, it's it's tough. I mean, not Tao,
but I'm kidding. I'm kidding. But within Zenos, I'm making a joke. But within Zenos, like a full-blown
Tyrannid invasion is obviously catastrophic, but the Drukari are the ones that...
I would rather have Tyrannins do terrible things with bugs than be captured by Dracari.
Jerkari, there's a reason why Jerkari's special rule in the game is called Powered from Pain.
Jerkari legitimately, as the craft world use soulstones...
We'll get there.
What I'm saying, but they...
Don't spoil it.
Don't spoil it.
You have to say it up front a little bit.
All I'm saying is the, let's leave me as this.
The Dukari are the most feared because they come from behind.
Whereas the tyranids, tau, orcs, all of the other Xenos races, even a lot of the chaos races, you'll see them coming.
It's not even just that.
They invade your system.
But if you get taken by Drakari, oh, I'm sorry.
You know, I don't really enjoy the fact that you pulled my skin off yesterday and you use magic to make it come back and we're going to do it all again.
Again, yeah, it's actually a lot of Prometheus stuff.
Yeah, it's, it's, you're like, hey, man, it would be super cool if this wasn't,
any chance I'm going to die today?
You're like, oh, a bunch, but you're going to stay conscious weirdly enough for all of them.
That's what makes the Drukari just rough.
But anyways, let's dive into them and let's have some.
The fact that they're bad people, got it.
So origins.
So we covered the fall of the Eldar at least three different casts.
So we're going to quick hit this real.
Real quick.
Largest, most powerful race in the galaxy.
The old ones created them to be poets and artists.
Then old ones got in a war with the necrons in the C-Tan.
And when you're warriors.
Yeah, and the Eldar were like, hey, yeah, you're, you're warriors now.
Put down the flute, grab the gun.
Then the Eldar after being made warriors,
the people they were listening to when they were in charge them the whole time,
the old ones just disappeared or their tyrannids or something else now.
Well, the old ones effectively went, hey guys,
after we win this war, we're definitely going to let you be
poets and artists again.
We'll definitely teach you how, and we're gone.
Yeah, we're gone.
So the Eldard then had 60 million years of ruling the galaxy.
65.
Because the war in heaven's about 5 million years.
Yeah, we don't know.
It's 65 issues.
Yeah.
So 60, 65 million years of ruling the galaxy.
Over time, they got pretty good at that,
and they created just a life of luxury for themselves.
They could manifest anything they wanted just with thought.
With thought.
Yeah, with thought.
They were effectively immortal because they could actually recycle their own souls upon death.
With full recollection of their old life.
And they start to get bored.
And right around, I mean, they made like 60-something million years,
but around like the year 10,000 or 15,000, things start to go awry.
I have a feeling that they were already kind of going awry.
I think that this was the catalyst to the head.
That's fair. Yeah. So all we know from the stories that we have this thing called the pleasure
cults rise. And so within Eldar society, a small, like kind of sect of Eldar began searching
for like a sense of feeling by inflicting harm. And it's because their lives had just been pure
luxury. Everything was easy. There's no, there's no struggle. There's no accomplishment though.
But also think about it. They've had 60 million years of the best. Again, Eldar are.
OCD times one million.
They're focused on what they're focused on.
They get crazy.
So even if you're trying to create something,
the average Eldar has nothing to focus on
because somebody's already done that
and they focused a thousand years on it.
Exactly.
And that's a drop in 60 million years.
You trying to do something new isn't a thing.
It's not yet.
It's not even that impressive.
So over time, these pleasure cults begin to grow.
within the
elder.
These pleasure
the word pleasure
is interesting here.
We say the word
pleasure cult,
most people think of
like hedonism.
This is actually violence.
These pleasure cults
were torturing people.
It was basically the pleasure
they found was in this screaming
and the torment of others.
Exactly.
And that's,
so pleasure cult's a really kind of
cute term they use for this,
but it's not.
It's a torture cult.
Torture cult.
So anyway.
What I don't know about this, by the way, just quick side note is Eldar reincarnated.
So when they reincarnated, so the person gets tortured death gets reincarnated with their full memory.
Yeah, he's super pissy about that.
Yeah, I would have, I would be on pure John Wick revenge.
Like, this is like, fine.
Yeah, I'm just letting you guys know I'm going to show up tomorrow.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, while I'm being tortured to death, like you understand I'm going to wake up in like 20 minutes
and just all I'm doing is coming after you specifically.
So anyway, side note.
This, though, begins to set the stage.
for Drew Kari.
Now, I want to take a quick left turn here to an important part of the other storytelling,
which is Kama.
Not Gomerah from New Vegas.
Comera.
By the way, I would say I have no internal knowledge of this,
but I'm saying with full confidence,
that was intentional by the people who made.
Is it interplay makes fallout?
Well, it's used to three times now.
Sierra games at one point, anyway.
But the point is where interplay.
Yeah, whoever made New Vegas.
It depends which one you want.
I do not doubt that when they named Gomera,
they were ripping off 40K, but whatever.
It's about time GW got hit for an IP violation.
So anyway, as we stated before,
the Eldar had mastered a form of transportation called the Webway.
And the Webway was originally made by the old ones.
And the Webway, it's interesting.
When you first read the Webway,
you think it's like a dimensional gate
where you step in one side, you step out the other.
It's not.
It's physical.
It's not.
Yeah, exactly.
Inside, the Webway actually is a third dimension.
We have the Materium that we all live in,
the imiterium, which is what the warp is,
and then the Webway, which is a third dimension.
It's the in between.
So the Eldar used these to interconnect their empire.
And this is actually how they became an invincible force,
because their entire military could actually move through these things.
And this is another reason why they were so haughty and just ridiculous is,
hey, we have a war here and our entire forces.
Yeah, one thing I find interesting is the orcs.
So the orcs when the Eldar were in charge were never a problem, which makes sense
because the second an orc wall would even begin to start,
an entirety of the Eldar military could show up and kill them.
Yeah, just they killed everybody down and just leave.
Nothing ever, no race was ever able to get large enough because the Eldar could,
if they needed, they could move a billion souls to combat with you in and in.
instant. The webway itself, though, actually does have structure and you can build things into it,
which is why when the emperor tried to make his own, he accidentally kind of punched a hole
through the wrong side of it. Magnus punched a hole in the wrong side of it. So the Eldar take
this webway, and they realized it can, instead of just being a point of connection, they could actually
build things inside of it, which makes sense. Why would you build a factory in one place? Take this
of the factory, then put it through the webway to take it another place.
When I just put the factory in the webway.
Well, it's also because of the fact that you could do things that wouldn't exist.
I had to pause to think about what I was going to say about that.
It's just, hey, can I transport this from point A to point B?
Well, in the web way I could.
And not only that, but also there's no, anyone who's had to build ships,
when you look at the way they build aircraft carriers or while they build submarines,
one of the big problems is these things are massive.
You need to build them on land, but then they're,
actually built a float in the water.
Or, you know, from a sci-fi standpoint, you want to make a spaceship.
Where do you build it, right?
Same thing with this.
What the Webway allows you to do is there are no real laws of physics within the Webway.
So you can build impossible levels of manufacturing within there.
So the Webway becomes, for the Eldar, this connection point because they've got a galaxy
spanning race, and they start manufacturing and even storing things within the Webway.
And the webway starts to become, it begins to kind of transform from a kind of highway commuting things to actually a manufacturing highway.
Well, it becomes a manufacturer, but also becomes almost a weird trade post deal where we have, and we'll cover this a little bit later.
But it becomes a big deal because the origins of the dark city are just, I want to.
to make something here, it's more effective.
It's easier.
But also, I need to get some goods here.
So it trade, so, well, I should just make a, for, you know, for permanent trade post here.
And that's how it, that's how the original just started.
One thing I want to point out, and we talk about them building a trade post there.
This is how big this place is.
They captured two different stars.
And they moved stars.
They move systems in here.
Yeah.
There are, there are, but they're literal stars.
This isn't like a little thing.
Yeah, today there are, there are, they are known to if you're playing road trader,
you know there's now three, stars that they're actually inside of their powering the place.
So they actually moved a sun into it.
This is a impossibly large place.
And it becomes the center of commerce for the Eldar Empire.
Why are we talking about this?
because the pleasure cults.
This, it ends up being named Kamara later because it's a dark city,
but it's, what ends up happening now is the Drukari,
what I would call political situation.
Within the Drucari, each section of the galaxy had its own, you know, nobles.
The elder, the elder kind of operate in that fashion.
And each noble has their own, you know, opinions, their own,
They're on this, they're on that.
The dark city of Kamara, the Webway, was viewed as so important to the Dracari that they
said, well, no one can be in charge of this.
But it's also, it's gigantic.
I need to stress this again, because we haven't made a big enough deal about it.
The dark city is a city in name.
The dark city has giant portions of it, which are huge.
It is one, you walk into Kamara, which you think, when you think Kamara, it is, it's
isn't Mexico City, London, and it's, no, we're talking about you're entering multiple planets.
Yeah, it's just your, but the thing is, is that you're, you're entering this planet-sized city,
but also it's connected to multiple other gigantic others.
Kamara's more of an idea than anything.
It's more of a collection.
Yeah, it's a collection of, it's almost like a collection of city-states, to be perfectly honest with you.
They're all considered the dark city, but.
but also because of the fact that you can have instantaneous travel,
that's why they're all considered to be one.
We're going to dive more to Comra and a bit about how it functions.
But the most important thing I want to kind of dive into right now is Comera is a trade post
that has no governing authority.
It is a self-governed trading post.
And anyone who has any semblance of any knowledge of history knows that this is an absolute recipe for
disaster and always has been.
It's just also super powerful.
Yeah, it is nothing worse than this scenario.
So now we'll move back to the fall of the Eldar.
These pleasure cults first start out, and they start sprouting up all over the Eldar Empire.
They're not originally met love acceptance because it's Eldar murdering and torturing other Eldar.
A lot of hey, man, not cool is what they're met with.
So the original cults, a lot of them go underground.
And by underground, we mean, boom, into the webway.
because in Comorah, they can kind of do whatever they want, as long as it's plutocracy.
The semi, and this is very semi, tried to police this a bit.
So everybody that didn't want to have to deal with this went to the dark city.
Exactly.
But this is no prize.
You effectively got the worst of the worst that kept coming here.
Also, I'm going to preface this again with, the worst of the worst went here.
the other guys were so bad,
they created a dark god of pleasure
that broke the sky and destroyed the sort of the race.
And the people that were worse than that...
What are the same people?
Yeah, but I'm saying.
The people that were as or worse.
Yeah, that's fair.
So what happened up happening is these pleasure cults
start to actually gain popularity.
Pleasure cults have now start moving.
They effectively don't move into just Comra,
but they move in and out of Comra,
because they would actually bounce out of Comra
and effectively do raids locally,
but they're still trying to gain favor and gain power.
And that's exactly what ends up happening.
Eventually, more and more Eldar start discovering
what I'll do in air quotes here,
the ways of the pleasure cult,
and discovering actually it does provide them
with a fulfillmentness that nothing else,
has done because this you know everything else in the elder life is easy this is different this is new
and this begins to grow and grow and grow so for lack of a better phrase they create a recipe for
soul pleasure that if you followed it would give you incredible feelings now they've got this
recipe they can spread it well here's the thing again we have to go back into what it is to be an
Eldar, they hyper focus on whatever it is they're focusing on.
This is how you get to this because it doesn't matter if you're doing bad, good, or whatever.
We made the joke in one of the, the Eldar cast about them having the guy that made the best
donut ever.
They went all in.
Oh, yeah.
Everyone who got in, who was into the pleasure cults figured out, they maximize this very, very well.
And we are, yes, we're talking about flesh sculptors.
You know, we will, we will be doing the homunculus covenant probably the next.
next cast. But the issue is that every world within the Eldar Empire was connected to Comer,
which means as these recipes for success were built within Comer about this is the way to get
the most feeling out of torture and murder, they could spread them very quickly throughout
the Empire. This becomes a nightmare for the Eldar because it hits the one group that was
holding the Eldar together, which is the nobility.
Well, the nobility went to the pleasure cults all in hardcore, immediately corrupted them.
And the issue with the nobility within Eldar is that once the nobility's there, now there's nothing stopping this.
You basically have, you know, priests effectively and a couple of rent and a couple ships coming and going like what the hell is going on.
But once the nobility's involved, now everyone's involved.
So they come out of the shadows.
Let's give a background.
This is not a Dracari thing, but this is a.
during this whole thing, this is the
beginning of the craft worlds.
Yeah, this is what creates
the craft rules start to see this.
Yeah, I was saying there is a definite
cause and effect to
craft world others existing
because this is happening.
And it didn't happen.
This is the
predecessor for
craft roads is because
regular elder life.
It wasn't no longer in the shadows.
It was just became regular elder
life.
And then the guys in the shadow
became the craft roads.
You were like, no, I'm out.
I'm out.
We're out of here.
We're out of here.
So this, now that they've got the nobility, a couple of things happened.
First, it's out of the shadows.
Now this is part of life.
Second, they've got funding.
So the leadership of the Eldar are now basically pouring resources into more torture, more of this.
Because, again, you have everything taken care of all their life.
When you talk about funding, you have effectively unlimited funding.
Yeah, unlimited funding.
And so they start making things like, you know, this is the first arenas,
which we'll be covering later, you know, for murder.
This whole thing becomes, it's Eldar.
It becomes industrialized, for lack of a better phrase.
So the Eldar starts moving into abject violence and just honestly.
Also, in next level violence, because they can torture you beyond anything because, again,
magic.
Eldar, a regular Eldar, just random Ted.
They can keep you alive.
has psychic powers.
And they're also torturing Eldar, by the way.
They're not raiding other races.
This is all internal.
The next thing that happens is a lot of these new kind of cult leaders is what I would
call it, or the former nobility, start relocating to the Webway.
There's a lot of reasons for this, but most of it was just territory.
I can manage a few systems, but I have to move from system to system.
Moving around inside the Webway was easier.
I could just jump in and out, do whatever I want.
I could build massive.
They could manage a massive vampire, but also the small, the micros,
where I can do terrible things easier when the laws of physics don't apply effectively.
And so surprise, surprise, it also gets them away from oversight.
Because as we just said, like when we talked to real quick, just to remind you,
the way the craft worlds came out is Eldar still had to do, if a world wasn't connected via
a webway yet. You had ships that were going places and colonizing. These people would be gone for
hundreds of years, could be a thousand years. They were coming back and looking at what was going on,
going, what the hell? And we're screaming. What are you guys doing? And so people just kind of got sick of
that. So they always went into the webway. And they're like, I want to be super weird and I don't
want people to talk. Yeah, I don't need you guys telling me about this stuff. And this starts the spiral.
This is a lines with about the time that the warp starts to go crazy.
Like, we don't exactly know when the golden age of technology became the Elton Age of Strife,
but we assume it's right about this moment, when the Eldar really start ramping hard.
They broke the warp, basically.
And the thing, what's funny about this is that the Eldar are not that aware this is happening
because the Eldar don't use warp travel.
They use FTL drives and they use warp drives.
They should be aware of it, but they are so ridiculously.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is the difference is where it's mankind lost the ability to communicate and travel.
So the warps storms to mankind are much bigger deal because it just shuts us down.
The Eldar are just like, oh yeah, they can feel it.
But they also as a race, I mean, condescending might be the ultimate term for them.
Yeah.
They just like, why do I care?
that this is happening, even if something happens,
we're so much more advanced than everyone else.
Why would I care of some?
Because there's no threat.
The warps, wasn't a threat to them at this stage.
I'm so powerful.
I'm making things with thought.
Why would I give a shit about my power source?
Well, yeah.
And basically, my viewpoint was the old British slogan of keep calm and carry on,
except the calm part was just murder and torture.
Yeah.
And this is when the first exudites bail.
So this is the first chunk of the exodus,
bailing and leaving the galaxy.
Well, the exodus were fairly early in this one.
Yes, it was the beginning part.
And then the craft worlds became the craft worlds.
Yeah.
And, you know, this all is, this actually happens quick, though.
We're talking about like 10, 15,000 years.
Which for Eldar is wildly fast.
Yeah.
We'll be right back after a quick break.
In my professional life, one thing I know well is how challenging, managing a global
team can be.
Just the act.
of creating one has been an extreme challenge over the years.
Because one thing you learn quickly is a difficulty of hiring global talent
and how unclear those costs can be.
It looks simple at first, but then the fees start to stack up
with compliance worries, contractors versus employees,
and a host of other regulations.
Pebble brings clarity with upfront, all-in hiring costs
and enables you to hire the world.
Pebble is an AI-powered human resource platform built for founders,
HR leaders and operators who are hiring and supporting teams around the world.
Pebble helps you hire, pay, and manage talent in over 185 countries
with fast onboarding that could be done in minutes.
Instead of juggling separate tools for contracts, payroll, benefits, and compliance,
Pebble brings everything together with built-in compliance and local expertise to support you.
This is especially helpful if you're managing teams internationally or planning to grow.
The fastest growing companies in the world use Pebble to stay organized and reduced risk,
and founders use it to scale faster without feeling like they need to become HR compliance experts.
Bottom line, it simplifies global people operation so you can spend more time growing the business
and supporting your team.
Pebble's new standard discounted pricing is only $399 US dollars per month per employee.
That'll help you contain costs.

That's high P-E-B-L-A-I for a free estimate.
So what happens next, we've covered before,
Slanesh is suddenly born.
And she kills all but maybe two or three of the Eldar gods.
And she also kills 95% of Eldar.
Although that number doesn't make sense
because of all the ones on the Webway.
So she kills a large section of the Eldar.
It's a vast, I'll go with vast majority.
That's what I'm going with vast majority.
She then decides to go and eat all the souls.
of all of the Eldar that she missed.
And every elder that's going to die in the future.
Yeah.
However, this all occurs in the materia.
Yeah.
The immaterial.
In the Webway, they're actually, they don't know this happened.
Well, yes and no, because they effectively get a, if you're playing a game,
they get the sole rot condition.
But they don't know, one thing is they don't know this.
What I'm getting at is if you're part of the Eldar Empire, you are suddenly
dead and consumed by Slanesh, or you're on a craft world looking out a window at where you
used to live.
Yeah.
The sky's broke.
Yeah, is a gap between the material and the immaterial.
If you're inside of the webway, what is there, a light rumble?
It's like, that's over the, it's like, huh?
Now, they figure it out pretty quick.
Well, again, because they look up at their status bar and see soul rot condition.
There's definitely, there's definitely a, there's definitely a,
problem. And we didn't mention this
in the last Eldar cast, it didn't really matter for the
Eldar, but it matters to the Jakari.
Slanesh doesn't just consume
an Eldar soul at death.
Slanesh actually has a way
to always leach a
piece of an Eldar soul. She slowly
saps your energy of every
living being. The Eldar
in the craft worlds made spirit
stones. The Spirit stones effectively, not only
did it capture their soul at death, but it
also protected them. It protects your soul.
It is a barrier. It is a barrier.
effectively. But believe it or not,
who knew, the Eldar
who made the Spirit Stones, didn't
want to share that technology with the
people who were at fault for Slanesh's
birth. And they came up with
the shittiest
solution to this. They really didn't.
So here's the thing.
They accidentally did. That's what I was going to say.
So the first thing that Drukari do
when they kind of discover the birth of Slushing the problem
is they cut themselves off from all psychic powers.
They don't use them, which
they still don't to this day.
Well, they think that this is the initial solution, period.
Yeah, that we just, we can't, if we don't use psychic powers, she can't touch us.
Yeah, and it does make sense because, remember, she can't see it into the webway, but Drukari do leave the webway on occasion.
And a way I look at it is if an Eldar were to suddenly, or Dark Alder were suddenly used psychic powers, she just knows they're there instantly.
It's a bright light.
Yeah, it's just, you cannot do that.
And again, the Dracari, the now, which are going to be Dracari, don't have spirits, don't
technology and they have no way to not have slowness, just take their souls.
But I also, I think this is, so this must have been crazy for the early Dark Eldar because
you're talking about like the most physically gifted race in the world who could do anything.
Remember, it's every day.
If you were making toast, you probably use psychic powers to fire up the toaster.
And the analogy I use here, this like Usain Bolt moving around on a rascal scooter instead
of walking, that's what life must have felt like for them.
I could do anything.
And now I'm just, I got a Ronnie Coleman joke here.
It was like three of us will get it.
Yeah.
You know, it's one of the, well, the biggest thing is, like I said, psyche powers are part
of every day, everything.
Like you, I'm assuming you probably locked your door as psychic power.
You made your breakfast.
Psychic powers.
You know what I mean?
And it's gone.
Right.
Gone.
But they find a new trick.
I have no idea how they discovered this, but the Drukari learned that, you know, that, you
that while Slanesh can take a part of their soul,
they can actually replenish this.
Yes.
Slanesh is basically slowly draining their souls.
There's nothing they can do about it because they don't, again,
don't have the tech.
Apparently they didn't want to learn the tech.
They've been around forever to find it.
But they just went, hey man,
you know how I can replenish my own soul as I'm fading away
by being goddamn awful to everyone else?
And so this is a super cool.
So when we did our cast in the chaos gods, we talked about how every action you do will influence the warps.
So murder, pestilence, deception, gluttony, they all feed a chaos god, even if not done in their name.
If you do it in their name, it feeds them more, but just the action.
For the Drukari, this doesn't just apply to the gods.
It applies to them.
So as a being is suffering in like absolute agony, they emanate massive amounts of psychic energy.
the Drukari can actually consume this energy into their own souls.
So the Drucari can replenish what's being taken out by Slanesh.
But only by the suffering of others.
Right.
And it cannot be done from afar.
They have to be up close and personal.
It is a weird psychic eminence.
It is what I actually think is, to be fair, I think it's a psychic power.
I think they're using that psychic eminence or a psychic.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, they have.
On the board, they have things that are called siphon.
Yeah.
They have siphon powers.
Yeah.
So the engines and stuff like that.
But I think that the average jukari just psychically leeches off.
Yeah, I have a different interpretation.
And I'll dive into it right now where I kind of, I actually think it's a side effect of Slanesh.
So in order, my viewpoint is effectively, again, this is, I'm making all this up myself.
This is not in a codex, but it might be right.
soft maybe. So in order to absorb the souls of the Eldar, I think Slanesh actually changed the way
an Eldar soul functions. So instead of being like a fixed thing with like, I would call them hard walls,
Slanesh removed the walls of that soul, which allows her to reach into their bodies.
So just dissipates out? Yeah, to take it out. But by doing that, it can go both ways. So by thinning
the walls and allowing her to be able to reach and take and take stuff out of the soul, their souls now,
actually, if you permeate the walls and they could take it.
take things in. So the Dr. Khari actually by accident stumble upon this. And I like to think of it
more from like a gaming standpoint because where I'm getting at this is in a video game, if your
character's injured, you use a metapack. They heal. But they healed with maximum wounds.
There isn't a maximum here. So rather than like pit points, I do it more like currency,
where in a game you can, if you just want to loot everything you ever see, you can have all the
currency. I mean, it's, you get overburdened, which is, sorry, encumbered, which is like my
least favorite rule in a game ever. It's just annoying. It's like, oh, good, I'm going to walk slowly
for a little bit until I find someone to sell this crap too. But for the Eldar, there's no cap in the
monetary game. They can go and become more and more and more, but it also still can drain out.
There's also, they don't hold it. But they juice it up. It's a great mechanic. Let's talk about,
I do want to throw it in the game real quick. I have to get props to GW when they do it.
is one of the best written parts of the power from pain you use pain tokens you effectively use
the over well let's let's let's let's not your 10th edition power for me like i hate it let's go with
ninth edition eighth edition eighth edition seventh edition power from pain where you actually would be
powered up from killing that's the whole year as as the drew carrie killed they actually would
gain your which is you know you take your combat drugs you can actually get more combat drugs
by killing more things the the cabalites could do this they actually would
power up because that's the way it works.
You actually can't.
If you continuously torture souls and you absorb more.
You would get more.
You get faster.
You're faster, stronger, better.
Exactly.
You become, it's like experience points, but they, but they're not permanent.
Because they do dissipate away because they don't, again, you're, I like, do like your
analogy of just the walls are off because you don't have a way to contain them.
So like, even if you power up and if you don't use it, it will dissipate.
Yeah, you get weaker.
So you can be.
the most power.
The next cast will talk about the arenas,
like the witches who fight in arenas
because of what they do in the arena.
They're sapping so much energy.
They become the greatest warriors, you know, effectively.
Well, they also have to continue to kill.
Yeah.
That's the biggest thing.
So from that understanding,
now we can talk more about Kamara and what happened.
So Kamara, just real quick,
was founded around M-18,
and the fall was 12-ish.
Yeah, is-ish.
The falls 12,000 years later.
I feel like Kamara was a, when was the founding?
Yeah.
It was somewhere between, you know, 20,000 and 20 million years ago.
Right.
It was a kind of working project.
What I want to say is that Eldar had 12,000 years of building there at full clip.
So Kamara is massive.
And when we say massive, in current 40K, Kamara has trillions of residents.
someone one of the codexes refers to
Comra compares to a hive city
the way a mountain compares to an ant hill
and this is super conflicted
in the writings by the way
how many people are here
it is either a whole shitload or
more than the Empire yeah there was that
I mean there was one reference at one point that there's actually
more people in Comra than in the Imperium which
I don't think that's that went away pretty quick
and I think that one was wrong but the reason
what makes Comra so crazy we were talking about this earlier
now I want to dive more into it is the way Kamara's function.
Kamara has webways all over the place.
Like you're walking down a street.
What when, you know, if you're in America, so we don't have archways.
But if you're in Europe, they have archways.
You basically turn left on a street and go down an archway, just like you would a street.
But in Kamara, that archway warps you 10 light years away.
Yep.
Because Kamara is all over the place.
Yeah, it's not as...
So I said, it's an idea more than just it's a city, holy, huge air quotes.
We'll get into later about what happens if you try to what.
attack Comra, but you can blow up a section of it, but overall, it just extends and extends and
you also get ruined if you try to.
I mean, look at there.
You know the story.
I'll say you should back up because they also have control over the webway.
Continue on.
We'll get to that story a little bit.
But Comra is like the Imperium.
It's just this vast scape of sections, but all the sections, like, have independent
rulers that report back to a central ruler, sort of.
sort of.
Kind of.
I'll say.
Yeah.
Yes, but you're like, yes, but also no.
Yeah, but they're actually, but they're much more independent.
Within Comera, it's much more anarchistic.
Because as we just said, they have to inflict pain and torture to survive.
And survival is the only thing that matters to a dark elder.
The only thing.
It's also currency here.
Yeah.
Well, because you can trade bodies.
You can trade all these things.
This becomes everything.
So what happens is the, the, the, the,
We can't go a flip-maker interchange.
But you trade everything.
Even, I mean, we'll go into the covens in a later cast.
But they trade on ways to suffer people.
Of course, yeah, because, but then they're given back people to torture.
Exactly.
That is the currency.
So what ends up happening is that as the Dark Eldar grow,
they need to inflict pain and torture.
So they begin raiding and murdering.
And it actually starts off primarily within Kamara.
A lot of it actually is just them raiding each other.
You know, which makes Kamara just at this point,
no one knows it unless you're there.
Maybe the worst place in the galaxy.
If you're a D&D person, it's Menzo Braza.
Oh, yeah, it would be.
You're right.
Yeah.
But it's, but a huge, infinite size.
It is a shithole place to live because it's just backstabbing is just.
It's the only way.
it is. It's expected. Exactly. And I think when I look at it, I look at the way they wrote this,
and I'll give GW. You can tell the GW writers what they're super into. And it's obvious they like
kind of historical. They're big fans of like the, I don't know, like the 16th through 19th century.
Given that they're British, it would make sense. I was just supposed to say the height of their whole.
Yeah. Seems legit. And so like when I look at Kamara and the Drew Kauri, I'm thinking about
libertatia, Tortuga, Barbary, Coast. It's all those things. The
For me, I think the Barbary Coast is that, for me, is the most apt for the majority of it.
Because you have people that...
Right.
Libertachi was a little bit happy, wasn't it?
Yeah.
That was to say that's too nice.
The Barbary Coast is, was and is, a shit show.
Yeah.
And I really like that because, but also these smaller, even though they're huge, sex, the cabals and everything that come out of this,
have to power the stuff that by, they're terrible people, don't get me wrong, but they, this is
survival. They have to do terrible things. And that's why I like these reference of these like pirate
kingdoms, because they're all aligned against like an enemy so long as it works. But even,
even in there, they're all still independent. So for example, Drew Carrey are known for this,
but if you know like the stories of pirates, which, you know, again, history is written by the victors.
so I don't want to have a pirate code.
Well, there was no real pirate code.
That was the whole idea.
The whole thing is that, you know, you and an, and a rival are going to ally to go deal with something.
And that's something that's usually going to be a battle.
Do you show up on time or do you show up a little bit late?
So they take worse losses.
And then you can attack them after.
You can attack them afterwards.
Do you sell them out to other rivals to make new alliances?
Or do you just straight up when they turn their back, murder all of them and take everything?
That is the life of Drew Kari.
Everything within the Drukari is constant murder and violence.
And also everyone expects all of these things.
Exactly.
If you show up as an ally, you have to, you would be surprised if somebody didn't turn on you.
It's some way or shape.
You don't know.
And so where that leads us into is the structure of Kamra.
So Kamra is, I think, best explained as the Greek city states, but ruled by a really, really powerful leader.
And the reason I think about this, and this actually.
comes back to the fall because as the Eldar nobles left the vatarium to go into the webway,
they built these massive palaces, which became their own like mini cities within Comorah.
And they were ruthless in how they ruled them because of what we just said.
They would get murdered in a second.
Yeah, and turn your back.
But also these cities, again, because the laws of physics and everything don't always exist here,
all of these cities are like Terra, like how we, how Terra became a, you know, one giant planet fortress.
they have these are commonplace in comrade yeah and this is where this structure is important because
each of these leaders has as i just said absolute rule and it is brutal rule everyone this is
this is not we were saying you don't turn your back like everyone around them is violent and strong
and they rule with a complete iron fist that's critical because
the structure of Comra is about to change.
But I mean, hardcore.
Yeah.
Around M32.
So at this point, we're about 2000, right under 2,000 years post-heresy.
The first, the Drukari have begun raiding into the Imperium.
There was also a pretty.
Settling into what it needs to be.
It also, Eldar as our most fan tamed.
Fantistical, I don't know, whatever you want to call it.
Fantasy races, the sci-fi fantasy races that are just super long-lived, they take a long time to adapt because of their long lives.
So there's a long adapting period of, whoa, society isn't how it used to be.
What should we do about it?
Let's talk about it.
Oh, shit, 500 years have already passed.
Yeah, and I just want to do a quick side note into the timeline.
So around M30 is when Slanesh is born.
emperor goes on his great crusade doesn't take very long before horacee so around m31 before m31 horacee begins the jukari started emerging from the webway right around m31 m32 and it's they basically time right after the heresy because they start to figure their stuff out this is where now camaris be beginning to grow they figured out how to add you know power from pain they figured this out they started to get a little bit more structured but there's still a pilot
kingdom. All of the major houses don't like each other, all those things. So slavery.
So many. Fun left turn here. The Drukari have slaves.
Have like one or two? Yeah. So even before, well before the fall, they use slave labor for everything.
They use them for building, for fighting. Well, this is a big thing because they change.
Yeah. Because of the fact that we're not using psychic powers to do everything, we now need.
need, hey, I used to just think about something and it happened.
Now I don't think about something and it happens, but I still want it to happen without me getting
out of my chair.
How do I do that?
Oh, I'll just murder hundreds of thousands of people to make them do this.
In modern 48K, a lot of the slaves are actually other races of the galaxy.
But at this point, around M31 and 32, they haven't had that much rating going on.
They cannibalize their own society.
Exactly.
It's mostly.
It's mostly other Eldar who've been enslaved.
And so if you're hearing like a weird tapping or banging sound,
that's Brad being to shake in his chair because we're about to talk about,
and I can't pronounce this first name.
I'm so excited you won't continue.
You're stalling so bad.
Asdrablevect, as Drubidol.
Hasdrabovict.
Brad loves this guy.
I'm going with Vect because it's too many letters.
So anyway, Vect.
Vect was one of these slaves.
He grew up no record of when or where he's.
was born, he does claim he was there for the fall, which means he is the oldest living being
in the galaxy currently.
Yeah, we'll do.
We'll continue on that.
There's, I mean, I think, it's.
Yeah, I know.
But anyway, he's older than any towel.
So we don't know how he became a slave.
At one point, he says he was born one, but other things doesn't, it's just not very clear.
But he was in Comera, the fall happens.
He later, by the way, takes full credit for all.
the advancements of the Droucarry.
That's a side note of Vect.
Vect is kind of actually funny.
But Vect escapes the slavery,
and he just goes to the sub-relms
of Kamara, which I realized
when we talked about hive worlds,
we talked about how nightmarish the
under city of a hive world is.
That is a paradise.
That's such a joke
compared to what?
Necromunda is a paradise world of
sandy beaches and cold drinks
compared to freaking the sub-relem of,
Kamara. Oh, good God. But Vect
is a genius. He also, he starts
Kaiser Zosang, everybody. Yeah. He starts
playing instantly, playing every single
person against each other, but he's a collector
of secrets immediately. He is one of the best, I was about
to say espionager and make up a new word. But hey, a lot of our listeners
are here. I already, I already made up my own word earlier.
It's fine, yeah, but he's a master of espionage.
He understands everyone, what they're goings on, what their wants, what their desires.
And he begins to just make all these crazily clever alliances where, effectively, every one of his rivals dies and every one of people who works those rivals start working for him.
Well, he also has, all of the lowborns are his people.
Yeah.
But he has, the thing is, is that he starts, back it up real quick, we have to say that,
a lot of these assassinations are all done by lowborns.
The guy cleaning, the guy doing stuff.
This is, I mean, this is constantly, the janitorio staff killed so many people.
Yeah, I probably should call out that this is a trope because GW uses a lot of them,
but I like this trope of him like saying, I'm going to go and take all these lowborn,
everyone who lives in the sub realms of Comra, and I'm, they're going to, and we're,
I'm going to help you guys lift yourselves up because Vect hated the nobility of Comra.
Like, wow, hated them.
Eventually, though, this group that he's built within the subroom takes a name.
And the name is the cult of the black heart.
And it's, it's all low-born Eldar.
And when it comes to the first cabal.
Yeah, later.
Much, much later.
Vect was a master of cutting the head off the snake where he would just, any rival.
He went off anybody he didn't like, even remotely.
He would make sure that leader got murdered.
And this is the big thing.
They were always murdered by, hey, man, he was having him murdered by their staff.
Hey, you want to massage?
From the guy who's massaged you every day for 20 years.
Yep.
And then that dude, you know, six months ago, joined the cult.
And all of a sudden, he just stabbed you in the face.
So within not that long, that takes complete control, effectively of the sub-room.
But there's a problem.
And the problem is that the next step for him is to go out for the nobility.
to this level, the nobility are unaware of his existence because he's in the sub- realms.
Again, remember, Eldar are the haughtiest of haughty.
Yeah.
They could have prevented the fall.
They did not, they disregarded anything that could possibly happen to them.
Exactly.
Because it's beneath them.
And what happens with this one, what's important here is they don't notice a sub-rooms because
Vect also does the thing that you do when you're part of the Imperium.
As long as the sub-reel realms,
doesn't affect the life of the nobility.
The nobility doesn't care of the sub realm.
So Vect is down there just killing every other, like, warlord in the sub realm,
but making sure all the supplies still go up.
Still go through.
But he is not done.
He wants to kill all those nobility.
And this is where he hits a wall.
The wall is that while he's got people and he's got motivation, he doesn't have weaponry.
The nobility have all of the weaponry.
which is a big deal because their weaponry is so wildly better.
We'll be talking about dark lenses.
Yeah, just the things that they can.
Guns that shoot poison.
You know that's this cast, right?
You know the next cast we're going to be spending a bunch of time
on the value of a poisoning weapon.
So much poison.
Yeah.
So the issue he runs into is that he can't attack.
Because if he wanted to, he might,
might be able to take one of the main houses down.
But the other two would just.
counterattack and kill him and his entire cult.
With a quickness.
Yeah, so he needed someone else through the work for him,
and he settles on the perfect group, the Imperium.
Vect, then this story's awesome, by the way.
It's one of the better ones.
It's the visualizations they draw out.
I'm not doing it justice, but we're going to do this.
This is so great because it's such a ridiculous,
yes, this guy is leading stuff into a trap,
but the Imperium doesn't care.
The Imperium is just so bad.
Vect starts out of his sub-relem, starts doing raids on one imperial outpost over and over and over again.
And these are nasty raids.
He's doing it for a reason because he knows the imperium will respond.
Well, instead of doing lightning strike raids, he's doing just raids where he's meandering about,
basically looking right into security cameras and giving him the finger guns and going,
oh, I hope I don't get caught on video.
Hope no one comes here to do anything about it.
Hope no one sees where I'm going
as he's putting arrows up
in a PowerPoint presentation
about where he's leaving to.
So the Imperium,
I mean, to be fairly,
had no other choice,
decides to go deal with this problem.
And they send a salamander strike force called...
Forge hammer.
With a strike crew is called the forge hammer.
Yeah.
Vect...
Instantly disabled.
Well, he plans this out.
He uses melter bombs to disable it,
comes in and captures the ship.
The key thing here is he captures the ship.
He doesn't kill the people on the ship.
Oh, he doesn't even defeat any.
He doesn't even try to get inside.
He just jumps down to the bridge.
He just hugboat drags it away.
And pulls it, takes this ship and pulls it through a webway into, into Kamara.
And a couple of key things here.
First, to my point about him not touching anybody else,
he leaves all of the space marines.
and most importantly, one of their key librarians
who sends out a distress signal
to the entire of the Imperium saying,
we're under attack, we've been captured,
come get us, and sets a psychic beacon.
The second is Vect,
when he brings this vessel back into Comra,
does it in the most public way possible.
Make sure everyone sees what he has.
He basically goes and sets out a PSA,
like someone's mistaken.
fireworks. It's a full parade. And then he drops it right in the dead center of where the three
main houses of the nobles are. And he does all this because the dude's a genius. They on cue,
the first noble house, runs up out of nowhere and yells at Vect and says, this is my plunder now.
Get out of here. Do which Vect goes, yes, sir, no problem, sir. Let me get out of the way.
I'm really sorry about this. Yeah. You can.
absolutely have this ship and this is my favorite part of the story well the best part is is the ships
full of marines yeah and the marines are watching what's happened and marines just watch their ship stop
moving and so this it is quite funny actually this noble grabs his like retinue i've been yelled
that for getting this wrong retinue and military open basically opens a door of a ship yeah
with salamanders who have all of the flameters and all of the flamelts and
And she just blast the ever-living shit out of this guy.
And the space marines began just fighting back out.
Vect is at this point just gone, like whatever.
That noble runs away.
And actually, the funny is as he runs away tells Vect, actually, you can have the salvage.
Don't worry about it.
But then comes part two.
Part two is the sky above Kamra explodes as a bunch of space marine craft.
This made me sometimes come in to rescue their brethren.
how they're able to breach the webway.
I don't know, and I don't care
because the story's awesome.
Anyway, they come in there,
and as soon as, so this is a,
there's a strike cruiser that's already there.
This is a new,
I forget how many ships come in
with the salameters to come capture it.
They begin blasting into Kamara.
Oh, they start nuking everything.
They just start blowing everything up.
Now all the citizens of Kamara are like,
well, this isn't cool.
So now your scourges, you're in Kuba,
your everything begin firing back up into this.
And the space Marines realized pretty quickly,
actually we got to get the hell out of here.
There's a lot of these people.
Yeah, there's a lot more than we thought.
Like this isn't like we're going to come in a Nuka City.
Yeah, no, it turns out we're not going to do that.
And so they, the space Marines,
boogie back out of the webway.
Well, pause on that.
The space Marines, to give the space Marines credit,
especially my boys, the salamanders.
I know, I'm doing salamanders.
Yep.
They ruin the place.
Well, that's the place.
that's the part.
They,
they wreck the shit out of it.
Put it this way,
nukes were the least effective weapon
that was being used,
and they were using a lot of them.
They took out everything.
The main thing, though,
is they did the city,
not the sub realms.
So as soon as the space marines leave,
the damage,
and remember,
this was all happening
right above the main section of the city.
So they're,
and again,
and we say city,
we're not going to New York.
When I say city,
I mean,
the entirety,
the entirety of the European,
continent. You know, it's just getting
nuked and blasted. And this is where all
of these noble houses were. These noble
houses are wrecked.
They have nothing. And then
Vect comes firing
up out of the sub- realm with
what might be a billion
soldiers and just quickly
kills everybody.
Remember, he already has been
completely insidiously.
Yeah. Building towards this.
This was a plan moment.
Effectively, everyone that's not a
noble that's in those houses, everybody that's a cook, a cleaner, or whatever.
They're already invented.
They're in.
So they're just stabbing people in the face and ready to go.
Very quick revolution.
Vect kills every noble leader and instills himself as the leader of common.
Wouldn't we say every noble leader?
It's a, it's the red wedding.
He kills everybody.
Well, this is the one of the most intelligent Eldar to ever live.
acting out, acting on a plan that requires him to be successful in all of his murder.
This is the end of Godfather.
Yeah.
He kills every leader, all of them.
At this stage, I mean, I will say the note I made here is that this is a amazing thing
for Comra.
Post, Vect taking over Comra is one of the best of them.
Oh, it's amazing for Comra.
The worst thing for the galaxy.
Oh, like, holy crap.
So now that he's in charge, Vect just starts instituting all of these changes.
Now, Vect is, again, he's a genius leader.
So all of his changes are done to benefit all of Comra.
Vect is a master of what I call a 51-49 deal.
Every deal he does, he gets 51% of it.
And the other guy gets 49.
No one's upset.
Well, they're also, and he also says you're in charge of doing everything.
Yep.
As long as I get my 51-year thing.
He also, again, Kaiser says he's everything, which is, I think,
I think I'm working for a Vect, but I'm not 100% sure.
And he does that with everything.
Oh, yeah, Vect is, it's, we're going to.
He's, we'll get into more.
He's, he's such my favorite because of the fact that he's constantly just showing.
He's like doing undercover boss all the time, too.
You're like, hey, man, what do you think about that Vec guy?
He's like, I don't really like him.
He's like, oh, that stab.
Yeah, he's like, I am that guy.
Yeah.
Oh, God, it's the worst undercover boss ever.
It's just like, what do you think?
bad decision you know and then he just leaves and you're like did ted just kill someone yeah this stupid head
you know what i'm gonna do it right now i detest the model which one the original the the big the giant
boat i mean he had two he had he had vected in robes and he had vect riding with blank blank on a chain
yeah yeah so i detested the models i was super happy i have like 10 of those because they're
they kept giving them out his prize support back in the day.
I want him to get a new model.
That's my thing is I love...
He's not in the game.
He's the most awesome model.
I'm getting my cheat together, everyone.
I do is get Brad angry because he's so mad.
He's not a model in the game.
He was a model in the game.
He's the leader of the Dark City.
God, why is Vak not in the game?
Because Slenash doesn't have a model.
I will argue the reason Vec doesn't have a model is because Vect is he is so important
that there's no sense.
scenario he would be on a battlefield.
He's wildly OP, by the way.
That's the thing. Like, I don't...
He has all... He has gear
upon gear upon gear upon
that's why. It's like he can't, he
wouldn't make sense in the game
on a tabletop. That's why I would...
He should also cost like 900 points.
Like 9,000. You shouldn't be able to use
him in a 2,000 point game because there's no
sin. He has all the forgotten. He's
stolen so much tech from every day.
But if that appeared on the table, what
would appear around him would be,
a hundred thousand points of
your own army would turn against you
because he already bought half of them
If you're if you're running it would only
work an apocalypse
Because it's just this sign
His special rule is you get a quarter
Of your opponent's army
Yeah, it's just there's no
And you couldn't are you playing Jukari?
Yeah they have that oh I guess I'm not playing
Jukari
Yeah
They all they all turn in fire
You walk over to the other side of the board like
Hello friend I guess we're playing
Who's next?
Yeah so that's why he can't have one
but diatribe.
Vec at this stage
reddoes Kamara.
What he does,
the first thing he does
is he actually converts
his cult to a cabal.
They mean basically
the same thing,
but they become,
he makes the first cabal,
which is the cabal of the black heart.
The next thing he does
is he changes the name.
At this point,
the dark elder of the city,
we're calling themselves
Eldar.
He refers to it as
Eldrath-Tenase
or Dark Eldar.
But later,
more recently,
he changes that name
from Dark Eldar
to Joukar.
because he discovered that he couldn't get an intellectual patent.
Yeah, I was just what to say it.
Yeah, he couldn't get an intellectual property.
He discovered he couldn't get an IP on it.
Yeah, so it turns out intellectual property doesn't work on Dark Elder, but it does on
Droucarry.
So Vec got involved in like, no, you know what?
I'm renaming us again.
Didn't realize he was such a patent lawyer also.
But again, this is the first of three.
It's why it's a little bit shorter.
So from there, I think this is a good stop for us to break because next week we're going
to dive much more aggressively into the Dark Eldar.
Yeah.
I mean, we're going to do a whole chunk.
chunk on raids on how they function, all this stuff.
The Drew Carrier.
They still, they would be more, and we'll get into this more, but one of the scariest parts
about Dark Eldar is they still have such disdain.
These are the original, these are the guys that didn't learn their lesson from the fall
because they're just doing it.
But they're so disdainful and condescending of everything else in the galaxy.
Their raids could be galaxy-wide devastation.
but they don't because all they want is people to torture and slaves and stuff.
You're like, you're not trying to conquer.
They're like, why would we conquer you?
You're beneath, like, why would I care?
I don't want to live in your gross planet.
Yeah.
Your place is pointless and disgusting.
Why would I ever?
It's the paradise world to you.
Yeah.
This is trash.
This is a bad neighbor.
This is Toledo.
We're also going to warn you guys.
There's going to be a lot of complaining.
the next couple of casts because as much as Eldar oftentimes they would match the lore to the
tabletop. Drew Carrey, they don't. And it drives both Brad and I insane. Just never. Stupid Raider. Stupid Raider.
Witches? Should move 40 inches. Which is period? Yeah, which is like, yeah, not having all the,
hitting on ones. Yeah. Anyway, all right. But with that, this has been John Barcati and Bradchester.
This guy. So you guys.
next week.
