She is the author of Toxic Empathy and host of Relatable with Allie B. Stuckey. Allie, yesterday, a transgender gunman targeted Christians that were celebrating mass and praying for a new school year. This is obviously an anti-Christian terror attack in addition to being a trans, yet another violent, murderous outburst by a transgender,

individual. How did we get here? And what is your analysis of this yet repeated attack against Christianity? Gosh, it's so disturbing all of these details that they weren't just Christians who were targeted, but specifically Christian children. Of course, that is the same pattern that we saw in Nashville just a couple years ago, someone who thinks that they're born in the wrong body, specifically targeting children who are praying, worshiping, learning about God. And of course, this particular killer, it looks like had that explicit motivation with the words written in his journal on his gun and things like that. So obviously this is demonic. There is some sort of demonic oppression and demonic possession perhaps going on. Some of this person's

drawings that were published actually depicted him communicating with Satan or a demon or something like that. So if people doubted spiritual warfare before this, they should now, good and evil, darkness, and light actually exist. There is a war waging for the human soul and a war waging specifically that targets children. That's well said, and that is exactly right. And it's interesting because so many pastors, when George Floyd overdosed in Minneapolis in May of 2020, they for months, some weeks, they talked about how we're racist and we need to apologize her being racist in Minneapolis, mind you. And I wonder how many pastors this Sunday are going to speak out against the toxin of transgenderism. More innocent children have been

harmed by the trans lobby than by racist police. Let's put 461 up on screen. And this is a picture obviously this guy's completely deranged. He's totally insane. So I don't want to read too much into his imagery. But that looks like he's communicating with a demon or something. some sort of satanic spirit there. Ali, why is it that the church is refusing to speak out against what is now a public safety risk, which is the transgender community in this country? Gosh, that's such a good and sad comparison, what you just said. We had so many pastors, pastors who would have called themselves, you know, conservative

evangelicals who, after George Floyd's death, blamed all white people because of the alleged actions of one person. And yet, when it comes to someone who identifies as the opposite sex, of course, we see the mayor of Minneapolis saying, this has nothing to do with transgenderism. This doesn't have to do with a quote unquote trans community. And unfortunately, we're probably going to see that vagueness from a lot of pastors who call themselves Christians. But really, they should have been talking about this a long time ago. All Christians, especially pastors from the pulpit, should be on the front lines about this because primarily, this is not political. Primarily, this is theological. In fact, it goes back to the very first

chapter of the first book of the Bible. So if you are a pastor who says, I don't want to get political, I'm not asking you to. I'm asking you to get biblical. And if you just preach the first 27 verses of the Bible, you will get through the controversial statement that all people are made in God's image as male or female. That is fundamentally theological. And if you are missing that, it's not because you're scared to be political, it's because you're scared to be biblical. And if that's the case, you have no place behind a pulpit. That's right. A lot of these pastors need to resign and disgrace. And in the audience right now, if you're going to one of those churches and you are tithing to one of those pastors,

you've got to disconnect. This Sunday should be a test. Will your pastor speak out against the transgender threat in our country? And if they spoke out against George Floyd, more people died actually in this situation than in George Floyd. They were attacking little kids at mass. And this wasn't a quote unquote maga white supremacist. Now 440, let's put 459 up on screen. This is Minneapolis school shooter confessed that he was tired of being trans. Quote, I wish I never brainwashed myself.

Their whole other thing that you and I could explore for about 20 minutes here at rally is that the media and the journalists are getting really mad that people are misgendering the shooter. Forget that two kids are dead. They're getting upset that this demonic mass murderer might have a wrong gendering. But I do want to play this piece of tape here. This is, it's so telling. This is the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Free. And if this shooter would have been a Trump supporting MAGA hat wearing, oh, they would have cared about his identity. But now that it was a trans person, they say, how dare you make it about their identity? Even though this is a pattern of trans violence around the country. Playcut 423.

I have heard about a whole lot of hate that's being directed at our trans community. Anybody who is using this as an, using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any other community out there has lost their sense of common humanity. we should not be operating out of a place of hate for anyone we should be operating from a place of love for our kids right and you're the one that defunded the police or your entire cabal defunded the police after george floyd ali stuck your reaction yeah he said the same thing on cnnonet i think it was and then he as an aside kind of parenthetically said oh and yeah including catholic people including the catholic kids as a if they are just kind of a peripheral part of this story. No, it's the Christians who are targeted and he is showing more compassion, what I call toxic empathy for the perpetrator of this crime because he happens to be identified as what they consider, you know, marginalized oppressed group, then he is for the very kids who are being killed. Yes, the specific mental derangement that a killer has is absolutely relevant to the conversation when we're talking about

stopping crime, especially when we see a pattern. If we see a pattern of any kind of person that is targeting another kind of person in this case is so-called trans person targeting Christian kids, then I think a smart person might ask, why does this keep happening and how can we stop it? One way to stop it is stop calling a man she, because you are perpetuating the very delusion that is driving this kind of evil ideology that ends itself in chaos and death. And that is toxic empathy. Talk a little. little bit more about them. You wrote a whole book about it. Shouldn't Christians be the leaders of correcting this in the culture, not the ones affirming the delusion that leads to two dead kids at a

Catholic mass? Yes. Empathy becomes toxic when it leads you to do three things. Affirm sin, validate lies or support destructive policy. Empathy by itself, neutral could lead you towards kindness, but it can also lead you towards cruelty if it is leading you to affirm and validate and support things that are destructive in evil and sinful. And that's exactly what has happened here because people feel so deeply for others. They have allowed that feeling to drive them to affirm things that are bad for not only that individual, but also the victims on the other side of the moral equation, also society at large. This is true when it comes to immigration. It's true when it comes to social justice, gender, sexuality, abortion, climate. On all of

these different issues, Christian compassion is perverted. and weaponized against people in order to convince them that the only moral and compassionate position is the progressive one. But love and empathy are not synonymous. Love, as we read in 1st Corinthians 13.6, is interwoven with the truth. That's right. Which means that Christians are called to something much better and deeper than toxic empathy. It is Ali Beth Stuckey. Ali, I was so positive. The media didn't mention any of it celebrating the fact that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey are getting married. And we're just so excited about the upcoming marriage. and I was basically outlining what are biblical principles for a marriage straight from Scripture. And I said, wives submit to your husbands, as it says repeatedly. But the second part is also really important. We as husbands must be willing to sacrifice ourselves for our wives as Christ died for the church.

That means we must be willing to die for our wives. Of course, nobody in the culture wanted to mention that. Let's play cut 457 as a setup, and then Allie, I'll allow you. you to respond play cut 457 submit to your husband you're not in charge not in charge of what as governor tim wall said on the campaign say it with me weird this is just the definition of weird bizarre and frankly just deeply disturbing i think number one this is bait and i think we should acknowledge to some degree we're taking the bait here any man in the world right now Travis Kelsey has the right to take at Charlie Kirk, and I would support that.

It'd be heroic, really. Oh, submit to your husband. Like, you have a wife. Does your wife not hear you say this? Like, I don't get it. Oh, Erica agrees completely. We're going to do a whole podcast on this. Erica thought I was spot on.

Ali Beth Stuckey, make my argument for me. Of course, you're talking about Ephesians 5 and other passages, as you said. it's not only one passage. We actually see this throughout scripture, especially the New Testament, that wives are to submit to our husbands as we submit to the Lord. The husband is supposed to love his wife as Christ loves the church. So there we see so much. We see the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman, but we also see that

it is an earthly reflection of an eternal reality of Christ's marriage to the church. Christ being the groom, the church being the bridegroom, and as the church submits to Christ as he is our authority. So the wife is to submit to her husband. That doesn't mean all women submit to all men, but the wife is to submit to her husband because at the end of the day, someone has to be responsible ultimately for the spiritual formation, the sanctification. Of course, the Holy Spirit does that, but that passage says that the husband is also responsible for the sanctification of his wife. He's responsible for the spiritual leadership of its family. He makes major decisions. And let me tell you, as someone who this September will be married 10 years,

praise God to someone who has led our family really well, that is a sweet relief for me. I am so glad that I am not the leader of our family. I am so glad that at the end of the day, my husband bears the responsibility of taking our family in the right direction. Now, do we talk about things all the time? Does he consult me because he appreciates my intellect, my wisdom, my decision making, my personality, all of these things, of course, we love each other. But at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, I am going to follow my husband wherever he leads and he is going to love me as Christ loves the church. I'm so glad that I do not bear that burden of having to be the self-sacrificial leader

of our family because that is a really hard job. And I think you're right. Taylor Swift, if she is wise, will realize that that is a really sweet relief for women. And this is very important. It's captain and first mate, not master and slave. My wife, by the way, is texting me right now. She's like, of course I agree. And I just want to reiterate this. It's not a dehumanizing thing. And also in Colossians, it says we should never be harsh to our wives. Understand, submit does not mean abuse. And this is all done in a voluntary context. And this is the key. Young ladies out there, if this bothers you, then do not marry a man.

that is not worthy of your submission. That's a very important thing. Do not find a man or do not date a man that you possibly would not want to be in that context. Allie, one minute remaining, I might keep you a little bit over. Why is this a teaching or just a one liner that has just set the culture ablaze? Why did I, I kind of hit a little bit of an open wound? What is that all about? Because we live in a culture that whether or not someone actually affirms what we think of as transgenderism. Our culture today is functionally transgender. And what I mean by that is that there is this underlying belief that men and women are the same, that we are essentially interchangeable. We saw this with feminism. We saw this with Obergefell that women can be men. And then we of course

saw that husbands can become wives, that moms can become dads. And so, of course, we have the belief now that men and women are essentially the same and just a matter of helping someone with synthetic hormones. And so this goes back a long way. In fact, you could argue that it goes all the way back to the garden when Satan tempted Eve with, did God really say? And encouraged her to take the lead. And Adam's first sin was passivity. This goes all the way back to the garden. It was Satanic then. It's Satanic now. Satan hates the family. He hates marriage. He hates it for a few reasons. He hates it because it's an earthly reflection of the eternal reality between the marriage of Christ and the church. We see that all of time starts with a marriage and all of time ends with a marriage. It starts with the marriage

between Adam and Eve. It ends with the marriage between Christ and his church. All of that is a culmination of the redemption arc that God has been authoring since the beginning. Of course, Satan hates that. He also hates marriage because it produces children. And there are multiple reasons why Satan hates children, one of the chief ones being that Jesus, the Messiah, the one who is going to trample upon him forever and ever came as a baby. And Satan in all of his power couldn't even thwart that plan of redemption. And so Satan has it out for the nature of marriage and for how marriage is supposed to be as outlined in the Bible. And so, of course, you're going to have a lot of people kind of pushing this deception that marriage is supposed to be this egalitarian thing.

And it's not. Why is the church so afraid to say this? And why is it that some Christians were even criticizing me for saying this one-liner. We'll lesser emphasis on that, but why is it that the church doesn't teach this? Oh, because a lot of people think they're nicer than God. And a lot of people think they can out nice God, out-compassion God, out-love God, that they need to apologize for God, that, oh, we shouldn't be using these clobber verses and God is too harsh about this. But really, at the end of the day, if you believe that, that you've got to apologize

for what the word of God clearly says, which it does say that wives should, to their husbands, among many other things that people find controversial, then that is self-idolatry. You are elevating yourself to a place that is holier and better and wiser than God. That's a very dangerous place to be. But you have the privilege, Christian, especially pastor as a Christian, to simply rely on the word of God for his clarity. You don't have to apologize for it. You don't have to caveat it.

If God said it, it's the most loving thing that we can do to agree with it. Allie Beth Stucky is incredible and I just want to look I'm pretty good at branding I think your next book needs to be called nicer than God. I don't know I just I'm just saying I think you need to have a new book called nicer than God by Allie B. Stucky. I think it would be a bestseller. Final thoughts here though, Allie. Do you think there's also something of fact that like Taylor Swift is this strong independent woman and that I'm not allowed to say anything about that? I mean what what is. The cultural sensitivity around this was remarkable. I couldn't care less. The backlash makes me laugh because everything I said was right. But is there a deeper component to this that we might be missing? Final thoughts, Allie B. Stucky. Yeah, probably so.

I mean, she has been the leader of her life and of many people for a long time. First of all, she needs to repent of her unbelief and become a Christian. That would be the greatest start. And then, of course, hopefully the right marriage and the right relationship with children and all of that will come into play. I do just want to say if women are looking for something different, if they're not getting the kind of encouragement and apologetics and theology that they need, or even if they are and they need more of that. I do have a Christian women's conference coming up in Dallas, Texas on October 11th. Taylor Swift will not be present. We'll have Francesca Battistelli and all other kinds of Christian women leaders who are so awesome.

Dr. Arne, great to see you. Thank you so much for taking the time. Dr. Arne, I want to ask you an open-ended question. We have time to explore this together. And you are a... great teacher of mine and a mentor of mine. But it's a question that has been raging all throughout

the internet. The question is, what is an American? Dr. Arne, what is an American? Well, it's a, first of all, an American is a wonderful and unique thing because our country is wonderful and unique. And there are two things that make it so. One is it started with some principles that had never been adopted before. They claim to be eternal principles. And they claim to establish that we have a nature, that we are created, that we have rights under that nature, and that we all have them, kings and commoners alike. And that had never happened before. Those principles, by the way, are unthinkable in the ancient world. And what intervened to change that, to make them necessary, was the birth of Jesus Christ, because now you're going to have a savior for everybody on earth.

but you have to come to him voluntarily. And so many people who came to this country came to escape religious persecution, and they figured out how not to do that. So that's the first thing, something unprecedented, something eternal but never adopted before. The second thing is our experience on this land. The founders were very taken with the continent, it. Not until Lewis and Clark in the first decade of the 19th century, did they know how big

the continent was, have any direct report of it. But they knew it was big, and they knew they could carve a life out for it. So Americans are the greatest builders on Earth. And, you know, Elon Musk and Palmer Lucky and Alex Karp are lately, I think, the pillar of American national defense because they're builders. They just do it on their own and they think it up and they do it. And so it's the experience we have. We brought everything from Europe when we came over, knowledge, books. We didn't bring the aristocracy and we got a new land and we got to settle it.

And we're still like that, I think. And that's what politics is about today, by the way. Are we like that or are we past that now? are we going to adopt the old way, which is some aristocracy telling us how to live our lives? And that's what the political fights are about today. But America is, you know, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln both called it the last best hope of mankind on earth. And it is still that today. So, Dr. Arne, allow me to ask a little bit more of a boundary pushing question.

And let's just take a kid right now in Beijing. He has a U.S. passport because his mom flew over when she was eight months pregnant, landed in San Francisco, and was born in a San Francisco hospital. He got a citizenship certificate, and then his mom flew back to Beijing, and he is being raised in China. He is a U.S. citizen, even though he's never been raised here, doesn't go to our schools, doesn't know the national anthem. But because his mom came here, and he is basically, an anchor baby. Is this kid in China? Is he an American just because he has his paperwork?

No. And the source of that confusion comes from a common law tradition, you know, the English common law, which grew up over a very long time, under the institution of kingship. And that argument was if you're born on the king's territory, you're a subject of the king. So you're not a citizen, you're a subject. And so if you're born there, he claims you. America is something different. America is government by consent. And so America requires a set of practices and beliefs. In principle, they make every one of us a ruler of the country. But we have to be dutiful in that. We have to qualify ourselves for that. We have to learn what that is and requires. So the idea of automatic citizenship in America is a corruption which has an older

route in a different kind of nation or regime and which has modern liberalism behind it because what it wants to do is destroy all the national boundaries. And if you do that, by the way, it's just a logical fact. You destroy the consent of the government. To have consent of the you have to have a people. And if the government gets to say who the people are, and if it's anybody who by any accident, including birth here, can claim some connection to the country and they can make them a citizen because of that,

then all of a sudden the government is in control of who the people are. And then the people are not in a position to give their consent. So Dr. Arne, as we bring newcomers to this country, immigrants, of which we brought way too many in the last couple of years, years. What should our expectations be of newcomers? What should we expect? What should their obligations and their duties be to then become an American? I feel as if we have no expectations for newcomers. In fact, we have the opposite. They have entitlement when many of them come here. The question I suppose I have is what what should the agreed upon ideal criteria be of when

someone is able to prove that they become an American citizen or an American part of this incredible republic. You know, the principles and practices for that are in place right now. They're just ignored the way you get naturalized. That's an interesting word, by the way. That word nature comes from the Latin word for birth. And to be naturalized is to be to be, to be be, you're made to have born here now, like that. If you become a citizen, well, how do you do it? You got to work for a time, years. You have to obey the law, and you have to pass a test.

And the test is about what the country is, how it's governed, how it works. And so that, in principle, anybody can do that. Any race, any place, anybody. Now, in practice, because we have the right to consent to our, government, we have the right and the duty to decide how many, right? Wide open is one choice. We've made that at various times in our past, never continuously, and then more restricted is a choice. But whether wide open or more restricted, the way to become a citizen is to adopt the practices and beliefs of America and demonstrate that. There are some good bills that have been in the Congress

lately didn't pass who knows what Donald Trump will get done because whatever it is besides the ability might get it done but there should be a test right one of the

bills I think Senator Cotton and some others were behind it it says clean record speak the language work not be so old that you can't contribute Senator Cotton said to me one time,

you're too old, you wouldn't get in. I said, it's okay, I'm already in. And then pass the test, learn, show that you know. And then, oh, by the way, there's a loyalty oath. And so that's what's being ignored, right? We're ignoring two things. One is the right of the people, in the interest of the country that they govern, to decide how many is the right number.

And of course we have that right. If you read the Declaration of Independence in the middle of these charges against the king, and one of them is the king, it made everybody mad because he gave a new constitution to Quebec, which was not part of the original 13 colonies, and apparently they put up with it.

He gave him a constitution he liked better, and then he expanded its borders southwards. And that made everybody mad, right, because he's taking our territory and he's setting it up to govern the way he wants, not the way the people who live on it want. So, yeah, you can't do that. That's an abnegation of the principles of the nation. And I want to repeat, it's the interplay of the principles of the nation and this experience we have of settling this continent. And think about that experience, right? The kind of government we set up in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution is simply unprecedented.

And what we did through many trials was we extended that way of government all the way across the continent, in the beginning not knowing how big the continent was, in the beginning naming the army that won the Revolutionary War, the Continental Army. And all of the new places came in with the same rights and the same represent. as the original 13. Now, that's an amazingly generous act and a service to the principle of equality that was fabulous. But you can only serve those principles

if you live the life to serve those principles because they carried the duties of citizenship with them. Yeah, I agree with all of that. And I'm in favor right now of an immigration moratorium. I've said that. We've had a very big meal. It's time to digest that meal. and we've had a huge influx of people coming into America.

What would you say is lacking from the dialogue on the discussion of what is an American and immigration? And what are some of the pitfalls that we as conservative should avoid? Because you've been around these debates multiple times for the last couple of decades on the American right. Oh, yeah. Well, we have to understand, you know, I mean, first of all, you know, you and I get on well with the Trump administration, and he loves the country, and he wants to have a big celebration

of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The final cause of America is stated in that beautiful document. We should understand that document. We should understand that it is, as Lincoln called it, the father of all moral principle in us. It's the reason we can be Americans. We should also understand our unique experience and what it calls us to do today, which is to govern this country in freedom to make it strong and to be a light but not a ruler of the world and all of that that's the founding fathers talking there

that's exactly how they thought and we're having a public man you know America is going through a major political trauma right are we going to be governed bureaucratically as spread all over the world or are we going to be governed as free people? That's what the fight's about. If we understand what it is to be governed as a free people

Dr. Arne, how are things going at America's greatest college? Give us a little bit of a status update. Our audience takes the courses, some of which our audience donates as they should.

Some have kids or grandkids at Hillsdale College. Give us a little status update from Hillsdale College. Well, we're in the middle of the happiest two weeks of the year. Last week, we got ready for this barbarian horde to show up, and this week they're here. We had classes start yesterday. I've been able to eat in the dining hall three days this week. It's my favorite sport, and the freshmen are weakly and nervous and smart, going to work hard. or we're going to have to shoot them.

It's vibrant and thriving right now. It's a big construction project. We're building a beautiful library. We're expanding our library, and it's going to look in the Hillsville was started in 1844, and we built a beautiful building, Central Hall, in 1852. And then in the 60s and 70s, we built some 60s and 70s architecture. And four years from today, that will all be covered up. or destroyed and it'll be a classical looking place as it is a classical being place so yeah the college

is thriving right now you you have a lot to do with that you are a force of nature charlie kirk i just watch that little clip we'll be talking on college campuses and darned aren't you good at it uh so you've learned a lot and there's a movement going on in America, and we're involved in it. And that movement is to learn better, which means to learn the stuff we used to know. That's what we do here. And it's coming right along smartly. Well, I'm touched by those words, Dr. Arne, and Hillsdale is the cutting edge. And I mean it. It is America's greatest college. What are you seeing with the new students coming into Hillsdale? I hate to ask, are they getting smart? but I'm sure they're getting more impressive. Are you seeing a change in the questions in the

worldview? Are they becoming more Christian? Because you spend a lot of time, as you say, right there at the dining table. What are you seeing on the front lines? Well, it's an overwhelmingly Christian college, almost everybody. We've never in 182 years required a face statement to attend the college. Our official doctrine is mere Christianity. As to say, we got our Catholics and we got our Protestants, and we got our Orthodox, and we got every kind of Protestant, and we talk about that. I like to say we have the arguments of the Reformation going on all the time here, not the wars of the Reformation. There is a prayer service on every floor and wing of every dormitory every day, and we have a beautiful chapel, and we use it a lot, and we have a wonderful sacred music

program. So it's a very Christian place. The original purpose of the college is stated in the first sentence to be civil and religious freedom and intelligent piety. Christianity is the thing to be understood and to understand it fully as fully as humanly you can. You have to understand the laws of nature and nature's God. And therefore, there's a really big core curriculum where you have to study everything from physics to philosophy, theology, and everybody studies. We're always in the top three in the country in percentage of math majors. We have a hot mathematics department, physics too, chemistry, too, biology, too. And so you study everything here, and you try to turn it into

an integrity of understanding that can help you know what you are defined in relation to the beast below and God above. So that's the activity, and that's why it's so consuming and challenging, and it's growing. I mean, I, you know, the student body has grown about 60% since I've been here. It's still a small college and always will be. But it's a vibrant place. You've been here.

You'll be coming back, too. One of these days, probably this learning accumulated. I'm going to give you an honorary degree, Charlie Kirk. it's a commitment well that would be quite that that that would be the honor of my life but i i got a lot more learning yet to do i have to be able to pass your aristotle course and i say this the hillsdale courses have changed my life and the more i take the more i learn and the it is as you have taught me dr arne aristotle wrote that all men seek to know and i find that when i go to these college campuses that students deep down they want to know and it's time
