Now, back to the show.
Hey, everyone, and welcome back to another episode
of the Comments'Section Show starring me,
your favorite, who cares about me?
On to the guest.
Today, I have the one, the only, Havi.
Woo-hoo!
Hi!
Hi, I'm so happy to have you.
I feel like a celebrity.
You are a celebrity.
Thank you.
To me.
I mean, you're, like, my celebrity.
You're my icon.
Me and Javi have hung out and met already.
Yes.
We are friends.
Yes, we are already friends.
Which is rare, actually.
I think the only other person I've met prior to filming with them was Carlo.
And you and Carla go way back too.
We're all frenzies.
Yeah, Towson days.
Yeah, fun time.
2017.
Very young.
Me and Javi go way back.
Not as far back as Carlo, but we do go way back.
Just a few months.
Same thing.
I'm like nine years.
Three months.
But I love, I feel like
I really pride myself
in like making friends.
Yeah, absolutely.
I'm just so down to earth.
I'm like, so fun to be around.
She's a tourist.
No, I love making friends.
Like, I love just being around people, community.
Well, it's also harder
as you get into this industry, too,
to like make quality creator friends.
Not everyone's terrible.
A lot of people would shock you
how awesome and nice they are.
Yeah.
But some people were talking about how terrible they are, too.
Yeah.
I don't.
And you've been around a long time in the creator entertainment industry.
Because Javi is a model.
Wink.
I do a lot of things.
I'm multifaceted.
Yes.
No, but, yeah, no, it's true.
I think it's really, I'm very choosy still.
But I'm open to get to know other people.
Yeah.
And that's great.
I mean, it's like, you're like on a trial basis.
I'm a, I'm a see.
This is like a tryout.
Yeah.
And if you pass, then great.
Yeah.
You can keep kicking.
Especially in L.A.
It's, it's, it's, it's,
tricky.
Yes.
It's tricky out here.
I've had my fair share.
But now I'm just like, I have a really good core group of friends.
Same.
And then if I hang out with the people that I really, truly love and then they hang out with
other people, I know I'm going to like them.
Yeah, absolutely.
So it's not going to be an issue.
Yeah.
But yeah, it is iffy.
Yeah.
And also, I mean, since you're a model too, like, you've been in the business long, long
time.
So, like, obviously now you do both, like modeling, content creation.
Like, how did you find that transition of?
of going from modeling to content creation,
kind of like seamlessly moving back and forth.
Yeah, I honestly, I didn't even see myself like modeling
because I feel like it was like out of the picture almost.
Yeah, how'd you get into that?
Dude, I don't know.
I don't remember.
One day, this is actually 2019.
Like end of 2019, I got signed to my agency.
Yeah.
And I was signed in New York because I lived in Maryland.
Yeah.
So I was like, obviously I need to be near it at least.
And they were great.
They're called the Between.
So they focus on models who are just like sizes.
Yeah.
Sizes, size.
It's like, like, it just felt so representative.
Invalidating, I'm sure.
Just period.
You know, they weren't looking for specific, yeah.
It wasn't like a specific body type or a specific size, look, whatever.
Yeah.
They're so welcoming.
And I just really, I just really like that.
So I decided to apply and they were like, actually, we've had you like on our little mood board for a while.
Oh, I love that.
And it was like, okay, period, so I got the job.
And so, yeah, after that, like, I work with a lot of brands, a lot of dope.
I was savage.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I'm working with skins.
Period.
So, yeah, I don't know.
It's just been great after, like, it was very smooth.
Yeah.
I think also when you've been content creator, you've been around cameras for a long time.
Like, it just came really easy.
But there was still a lot of things I had to learn.
Like, just being on set, obviously, you're respectful of everyone.
and like you're nice to be around.
Yeah.
And luckily I haven't had that many weird, you know, things, experiences on set.
Well, also, like, I'm so curious.
Like, as, like, especially as a Kirby model because you're a plus girl, which we hardly see.
If we do see it, it's like, it's like, it's like the kind where it's like, is she Kirby or is she just bigger than Bella Hadid?
You know what I mean?
Like, it's obviously, like, beauty standards are so constrictive and they've, like, dominated the entertainment industry for so long.
So, like, how did you find?
going into the industry knowing that but understanding like obviously they're trying to represent all
body types at this point i mean they're doing the best they can yeah i feel like we've made tremendous
progress but like there's so much work yeah was it strange when you first went in was it like a little weird
like i said i was like i didn't even think i could be a model because also when i started i was maybe like
a 12 14 now i'm like a 14 16 yeah yeah so i just felt very again like very mid very mid
very mid-sized.
Yeah.
That's how they would call it.
Yeah.
And I was like, I just don't think that I am able to, I don't know.
It just felt weird.
It definitely felt weird at first.
Yeah.
I don't, do I even fall in the category of like a model?
Yeah.
It's just felt really weird at first.
Yeah.
But then I started to think like, there's so many women who look like me.
Yeah.
And not even just like body wise, but like feature wise.
And like we have the same history.
We have, we come from very similar, you know,
like ethnic backgrounds yeah like all of that stuff I feel like it's so important to push forward
even if it's not just about your body yeah um so yeah I'm just you're to represent really at the
end of the day whoever feels like you know represented by me like I'm happy to do that yeah
even if you don't exactly look like me yeah especially I feel like too as women of color and
and bigger women of color like in in the entertainment space like for me um my body is not a
huge part of my content literally at all.
But that doesn't stop people from commenting on it.
And even yours, like, although you are a model, your body is not the focal point of everything.
It's just like it's a part of your branding.
It's not the entire thing.
But because also we're women, too, we identify as women.
They're like, well, I'm going to talk about every single piece of your inch of your body from
your hair line down to your toes.
And like, how has that experience been with you being online?
Because you've been online for a long time, too, as a creator.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's been a learning curve for sure.
Yeah.
First, I always felt, like you said, like I had to talk about every single thing.
All the time, yeah.
The silly light and the stretch marks.
And, like, how do you keep things at bay?
Yeah.
What's your workout routine?
I'm like, I'm just existing.
No, truly.
Maybe I'm just, like, a human being.
Yeah, literally.
Like, I do a lot of other things than just talk about my body.
That's why, like, the whole, like, body positivity movement kind of fell off for me.
Yeah.
I feel that.
And now I'm just like, yeah, I provide a lot more than just,
what my body looks like I agree you know I'm I'm again I'm a person yeah and I think by
shifting to that instead of feeling like people are putting me in a box mm-hmm because I
think people feel comfortable doing that like yeah especially yeah especially for you as a
model like too because they're like they just feel so entitled to your body and
to comment on your body yeah even though that's not even really the like sometimes
you're just posting like you'll be posting about your cat you'll post about your plants
And then they're like, oh, I have that stomach too.
It's like, girl, like, this has nothing to do.
Yeah, or it's like, or it's like terrible men like feeling the need to say terrible shit too.
Like, do you have men ever commenting on you?
All the time.
Yeah.
I think it died down now.
Yeah.
I don't care.
Honestly, I think it's because they get bored.
Yeah.
Like, I think it usually happens to like people who are like up and coming now.
Yeah.
So before when I was like growing a lot more very, you know, rapidly.
Quickly.
Yeah.
It happened a lot for sure.
Yeah.
reposting was super big back then too
Like post your photos and stuff
Like she's fat bitch
I'm like
I want to eat
Like what you mean
Yeah and what
Yeah and what
Yeah and okay
Like what's it to you
Yeah that's why I'm always like
Fat's not an insult
Yeah anything else
I got a couple but I want to let you get them off
First before I step in
Well actually the other day
I posted on Valentine's Day
because it was a Taco Tuesday
Yeah
And Carlo
Oh yeah that's right
Yeah
Because I was eating a taco
And I was cute
Like I'm just gonna post me
Valentine's Day
Yeah
And some random dude who looked like, I told him he looked like he belonged on Ed, Ed, Ed, and Eddie.
He just, he was out.
First of all, you look, 15.
Yeah.
Why are you on my page?
Anyway, he commented, like, the burger emoji, and then he was like, and then she wants a high-value man.
What?
Says who, is the high-value man in the room with us right now, or are you talking about?
Yeah, literally.
Also, I'm like, who said, who said I'm looking for a man, too?
No shit.
Yeah, I'm going to eat the burger and the man.
Yeah.
I'm like, one first and then the next.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That's insane.
I know.
If I had a nickel.
I know.
God damn.
It's just, you know, for what?
Yeah.
I just see the point.
Then it's like, I usually get like the DMs on my stories.
Mm-hmm.
Like, oh, you're so beautiful, blah, blah, blah.
And then when I don't reply, like, you're fat, bitch.
I don't get you.
You're ugly.
Anyway.
They change their mind.
They switch up on you immediately.
That's pretty crazy.
They're talking to themselves.
You're like, you don't even need me for those conversations.
You seem like I have a good time all by yourself, honestly.
In that.
the DMs all by yourself.
You scroll up.
There's millions of them.
Yeah.
Yeah, I get that all the time.
I even have men, like, they'll comment on what I look like.
And then if I feel like I have the time, I'll say something back.
And then they're like, ha, ha, she replied.
Here's another thing, too.
If I do post that and, like, let's say, like, I'm like, obviously, I advocate for body
neutrality more so.
I feel like that works better for me.
Yeah.
Because I don't want to feel any sort of, like, emotion towards my body, whether it's positive or negative.
Like, I just wanted to understand it for what it is and it exists to keep me alive.
And that's how I want to hold it and that's how I want to feel towards it.
And I feel like that's such a radical statement, like, because terrible men are like,
well, you're just promoting obesity.
I'm like, existing is not the same thing as promoting, first of all.
And second of all, like, obese compared to who, like, to what?
But, and they don't, they always hide it under the guise of like, oh, I just care about health.
And I'm like, no, you don't.
No.
No, you don't.
Because then it, what pisses me off, too, it's like, like I said, I could be eating a taco and enjoying it, right?
Yeah.
But then let a skinny girl do that.
Mm-hmm.
She's squirky.
She needs some tacos.
Oh, my God, and she doesn't get any.
They're like, goals.
Goals.
Goals.
Goals.
Yeah, literally.
I can eat two pizzas in one sitting.
Goals.
So can I.
Oh, but when I do it, all of a sudden it's disgusting.
No, I feel about it.
It's just annoying.
I see that on Twitter a lot, too.
I try to stay with Twitter now because I'm like...
Twitter is...
Oh, man.
Twitter is something else.
It is something else over there.
It's the Wild West on Twitter.
Like, there's no laws.
No rules.
Nothing.
Everyone's like...
There's no regulation whatsoever over there.
It's really, really bad.
Hey, y'all.
We're going to take a quick break.
from the show to hear from our sponsor for today, Nutrafol. Did y'all know that 30 million women are

By now you've seen all those tall cans of what appear to be beer and all.
your local grocery stores, right?
Well, that's Liquid Death's signature mountain and sparkling waters.
But what you probably don't know is that they also make these eye-catching gold cans that
contain all types of delicious tea.
And that's the true tea, babe.
Trust me, when you crack open one of these refreshing brand-new iced teas, you're in for a real treat.

And it's, I actually had quite a few creators on the show who have said like I stay off Twitter completely because it's so bad.
Especially like in the quote retweets and stuff.
Like they'd be going off and they're and they, especially men and they're also like, I say this all the time but I'm like you are disgusting to look at if I'm being absolutely 100% real with you.
So who are you to like comment on what I look like?
Nobody.
I know.
Why would I ask you?
always the ugliest one.
It's always.
Like, it obviously, obviously, I watch a video, so I'm always thinking, like, that's such a
true statement.
They're balding.
Yeah.
They're ugly.
Like, you have clearly nothing going for you.
You don't have money.
And, like, you're not even money.
Like, I'm sorry.
Like, not even, the bare minimum.
The bare necessities.
Not even what your gender role says you should be doing, which is making money.
And you're a white man and you're not even thriving in this society.
I'm sorry, but like, you miss the memo on that one.
Like, you got a head start and your.
behind me. What the hell? What is that?
This is crazy to me. It's really crazy to me.
Well, and I think that I actually just made a video about this, but I was talking about this
video where this guy, it's like a podcast, which is every time a white man makes a podcast
where he wants to talk about how women suck, an angel falls from heaven. That's just a fact.
Like a scientific fact. I don't make the rules. That's just what happens. He was talking to this
girl and he was like, I think we can all agree that there is such a thing.
like ugly people and beautiful people.
Like there is like a determining like decision.
And she was like, I don't think so.
Because I think beauty is,
she said beauty's in the eye of the beholder,
but she's basically saying like beauty subjective.
Like it just depends on the person.
And she's also no, I don't necessarily agree with that statement.
And then he was like, oh, so you think you're a 10?
And then she was like, me personally, yeah?
And he goes, I'm gonna, I'm not, no offense.
First of all, if a guy says that too, he's gonna offend you.
Yeah.
he's like no offense you're not a 10 and she goes okay that's just your opinion yeah and I said work
bitch first of all but I was talking about how like he got mad that it didn't bother her that he said
that because she doesn't give a shit what this guy says I'm like I in my video I literally said like
this guy looks like he sells bibles for a living and he's trying to tell you he's trying to tell you you're
ugly like okay bitch sure built like a train whistle but sure sure sure sure sure I was like um
Yeah, no, you're a nipples touch each other.
We have nothing in common.
That's okay.
I'm not going to ask you.
It's cool if you don't find me attractive.
And I think that's how you feel too.
It's like if I am not trying to date you or like am attracted to you or like even feel any type of way towards you, I don't care.
But I especially don't care in general.
Yeah.
I always talk about how I always, I always say like be your own muse.
Because you set your own beauty standard.
And you don't have to, you know, confine yourself and, like, try to change yourself and do all that.
Also, if you want to change yourself, okay, go do that then.
Yeah, that's what I've said that too.
That's totally fine.
Like, you are free.
As long as it's for you and not for the validation of men.
Exactly.
Like, at least, you know, you are able to make your own decisions and do that for yourself.
Great, amazing.
I support.
Yeah.
Women support it.
Also, I feel like there's not enough of that.
Yeah, truly.
Especially in our industry.
I was talking about that with my best friend.
To you.
Danny DMC.
Shout out to you.
Um, yeah, we were saying how it's so, I think, in the influencing thing, I feel like there's not a lot of friendships that are just outwardly friendships.
Yeah.
And especially between women.
Yeah, like friendships first.
Yeah.
And I think it's very unique.
I think that's why people really like us too.
Yeah.
And we're just very organic and we're just hanging out.
That's why it works, like between the two of you, but also, I feel like sometimes I feel like you don't, you know, there isn't enough credit.
given to the audience.
Like the audience can tell if it's real, if you're being for real, if you're genuine,
if you're kind, if you're, like a lot of times they can tell.
Sometimes, obviously you have exceptions here and there where people kind of fool you
a little bit.
But I think for the most part, especially now, I feel like they're pretty hip to the game.
Like they can be like, yeah.
That doesn't seem like a real genuine friendship.
But it's one of those things too where it's like, what do your friends look like?
Like, are your friends the same race?
Are all of them built like you?
Or do all your friends look different?
It reminds me of like the brand trips.
Everyone was talking about that too.
And yeah, it's well too because obviously I've been on this for a while.
So I've seen a lot of brand trips.
Like this part one is not the only one that's happened.
Yeah.
And it's all the same.
Yeah, they're always the same.
Skinny white girls.
And I mean, like what type of diversity are you bringing to the table?
Like, why would you care or no, what would you say that you care about it if you're not doing anything?
Yeah.
They're like, in theory.
I thought about it.
I thought about it. I counts.
Give me a cookie.
Same thing.
Yeah.
It's wild.
And I wish, actually, my best friend just went on our rent trip.
Really?
And she was elated because we've never done that.
We've never gone to do that.
We've never gone to represent in that way.
Yeah.
And yeah.
Well, you know what's so funny is Tess Holiday, adore her.
Love her forever.
She's a good friend of ours.
And, like, she has a Galentine's Day every year.
And this year she came out with a new line with H&M because she's expanding their sizing, which is incredible.
And my mom and sister actually went to their galant and I said.
I couldn't go because I was on a trip already.
But I wish I could have because it looked so fun.
But my sister was telling me that when she went to the party, like everybody, every girl there or every person there, because not everyone identified as women there.
But everyone looked different, but they were all fat women, plus size people in general.
They were just like all there for the good vibes.
and to shop and have a good time.
Like, try on all the new clothes that she's coming out with.
And I was just like, she said,
I've never felt so comfortable in my entire life.
Like, going to a space like that
where you're all loved for exactly who you are,
exactly how you look.
And for some people, it's like a crime.
Yeah.
For you to, like, exist in a space like that.
You guys are insane.
It's so insane to me.
I think also I was going to piggyback off of that
because even just the shopping experience for a bigger person,
I know.
Kill me.
off of my head with that one.
Now I've, because I
wear the same brands all the time now, so I know the
sizing. But when I first
started, I'm like,
oh. That's hard. That's a whole headache.
And I hate going to the mall.
Same. I used to work for Abercrombie.
Did you really?
Not only was it mad, weird,
and awkward, but also I was like
the only non-white
that was there. And one time,
I pulled my immigration card all the time.
Yeah. So I'm not from here.
Okay?
Yeah.
Don't get it twisted.
I'm not American.
But one time, sometimes I like, don't know what I'm saying half the time.
Yeah.
Because of the English language is a little bit.
Yeah.
Weird.
I got the hang of it now.
Because English is your second language.
Yeah, because I'm an immigrant.
You know, because I'm not from here.
No, but basically, I was talking to my manager, and I was telling her about outerwear.
Now I know the word is outerwear.
I was calling it outwear.
I was using the ER.
And it pissed me off because she looked at me like I was crazy.
I was like, okay, it's not, like I didn't say anything different.
It's not that far off.
Like, come on.
She was like, the way.
You were like, you know what I was saying.
Park us.
Coats.
Yeah.
Puffers.
Are we putting those out because it's wintertime.
Yeah.
And she was like, the outwear.
She was like, oh, you mean that outer wear?
And I was like, yeah, I basically just said that.
But, okay.
And just all of that combined.
Yeah.
All of that combined just, it just pisses me on.
Like the like I feel like
Not just immigrants but brown and black people in those settings
Yeah
Where we're constantly having to like code switch or like
Keep it like nice right and tie around
White people because we have to make them comfortable
And we have to make sure they understand us
And we're not being crazy or over-emotional
And when it comes to the shopping thing too
I actually told one of my friends like
she and I were talking about this
and I was telling her my family for the
longest time has called it like
white people sizing
like when you shop certain brands where it's like
you know how like women especially when they
shop in like regular retail
they could be many
different sizes at many different stores
like I whenever people are like oh what size
are you in pants I'm like I
it depends on the pants.
You got to let me grab the fabric
and I'll tell you to the number what size
I am that day like in there
and it's um so sometimes my family and i will be like is it like a real two-ex or is it like white people
two-x you know what i mean like because a white people two-x is like an extra large so like or a large
yeah and uh i told my friend that once because she told me like she struggles to shop it like makes her
feel bad and and i told her well depending on the store it's probably like white people's sizing
and she was like what and i explained that to her and then she told me it like makes her feel better now
when she goes out and shops because she's like
that's not my fault that's the close fault
and I'm like it's not made for our bodies
exactly it's just never a thought
yeah we don't
we're not running in their mind yeah
we don't exist at all um but yeah that does make it
a lot better um but then it's like
then I'm not gonna shop there you know exactly also I know
because sometimes their jeans like they'll flat in my butt
or like it just doesn't look or they're not built for the legs
yeah or like there's like a little gap in the back
yeah it's just not I actually
used to have like a series like that on YouTube years ago.
And I'd be like a size 14 at H&M or a size 14 and I would just try on stuff.
Yeah.
You know, but only trying on stuff like that's that says 14 or extra large to see how that.
It's like so different.
Yeah.
And people would be like, oh my God, can you go to American Eagle?
Because I love their jeans.
I would go there and that was like okay.
Yeah.
But yeah, everything was so different.
And then people obviously in the comments, a lot of.
were supportive, but some were like, well, then you're then you're, then you're actually a lot
bigger. Why are you lying about your size? So I'm like, why would, why are you telling me about my
body, first of all? And why would I lie? What do you have to gain about lying? For what? Well, you're like,
well, you also saw me in the other store in the 14. So like, you know what I mean? Like, yeah.

Now back to the show.
It's also indicative of, I think, the mentality around,
like, we have to fit our bodies into the clothes.
Like, we're not supposed to...
Like, the clothes are supposed to fit you.
You're not supposed to...
It's not the other way around.
Yeah.
So it reinforces that idea.
when they're like, well, maybe you need to be bigger.
Yeah.
And it's like, well, or maybe the sizing is not the same across the board.
Exactly.
Because they don't give a shit if you're bigger than like a 12 or 14.
If you're bigger than that, even then, the 12 and the 14, even then, it's very, very rare.
Yeah.
Like that it's actually a 12 or a 14.
Yeah.
Sometimes, and I don't know, have you ever been styled before?
It's horrible.
Unfortunately.
It's really bad.
I have a stylist now that.
I love, but like, man, did I go through them in the beginning?
Yeah.
It's really hard, like, to get styled for anything.
And this is obviously, like, if you're, like, an entertainment or anything and you hire
someone to find clothes for you, to put looks together for you.
Thank God for my stylist now.
But, like, in the beginning, it was so, it's honestly so discouraging.
Yes, because you're, again, they don't think about you.
No, at all.
Like, it's not.
Or they'll be like, oh, if it looks good on this person and look good on you.
No.
Like it just, no.
It won't.
And the same thing, but with modeling,
they'll put me in poses, that don't make sense.
Yeah.
They want me to do that, like, look, crouched down with the,
looking all like,
that does not blend, yeah.
I have a stomach that protrudes.
Yeah.
And has rolls when I do that.
You want me to crease your stuff?
Yeah.
I'm just not going to be able to do that.
Yeah.
Just like random squat poses, like,
my knees can't take it.
I got a lot of weight.
I got this ass big.
I'm sorry, I can't do it.
I'll try.
I'm gonna still do it.
But then it's like,
it's not gonna look the way
that you want me to.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
And it's not what they think,
but they just like don't know,
which is the part that's shocking.
Yeah.
It's like they've never met a big person
in their whole life.
Like never met a fat person,
never met a curvy person,
never met a mid-sized person.
Like literally no one passed a size like four.
They've never met them.
Or even sometimes just, again,
like the clothes.
don't make sense for my body.
Like, they'll put me in like a mini skirt and my whole my butt cheeks are out.
Yeah.
I'm like, I wouldn't buy this.
Yeah.
I'm modeling it.
But like, I wouldn't buy it.
This is impossible to like fit into.
You can't even walk in it.
Let alone squat.
Like you want me to.
So it doesn't make any sense.
Well, I think too when I've done like styling before, you know, like sometimes they'll ask you like,
oh, what do you like, what are you comfortable with?
like what do you want to highlight?
What do you maybe want to draw attention away from?
Whatever.
I'm like, I'm not particularly like, oh, I hate this.
I hate that.
But even if I was, you know, your job is to make me feel pretty.
Like, that's like the job that you're hired to do.
And it's hard because you're being, you're on camera.
You're being photographed.
And so you like, I would tell them, like, I don't like this.
And I'm not a big fan of highlighting this.
I would like to cut, but I do like highlighting this.
I would like give them like a very detailed understanding, like,
Of what, because I know, again, like, I know my own body best.
So I know what looks good on my body.
I know what I feel comfortable and confident in.
And then, you know, I'm willing to be pushed, but at the same time, like, you got to make
me feel comfortable a little bit.
And then sometimes, like, bitch, if you're a big girl, like, if you're a curvy girl,
if you're a plus girl, like, sometimes they dress you like a corporate woman.
Like, you literally look like, literally the, oh my God.
The florals.
Yeah, the, like, it's like all titty, nothing else.
like shapeless from the titties down, all titty up here.
Like, that's it.
No, or if they do show your arms, it's like sleeveless or they do like cold shoulders.
I'm like, you're aging me, like on top of that.
I'm like, you're making me look like I'm like a 40-year-old.
We already look a lot more mature because of our body.
Actually.
Make me look a little more youthful, please.
I'm not like a Deborah.
Yeah, literally.
I know.
And sometimes, and then you're like, because I don't want to be.
be rude or whatever if I if I hate it I'll literally be like great oh my god love and takes
I love it I love it yeah I'm so good yeah I know but I haven't well I only get styled like for photo
shoots but yeah now I'm like a lot more outspoken at first I was like very much like okay
like I guess it's my hair um but one time like they didn't even have they had like my size but it wasn't
my size yeah um they had just like your regular 14
and but it just it was just very small like it was very tight fabric yeah and they didn't have a lot of
options for me like they had so and I was the only plus-sized girl that day yeah the crew was
great though like that wasn't really an issue it was more so that they didn't think further and
that's what pisses me off it's like the being considerate yeah it's like they had so many options
for the other girls especially if they know outfits to choose from yeah like okay well what about
And then they asked me if I could use, like, my own stuff.
And I'm like, what?
Do you guys hire me?
I mean, right?
I'm like, do I get like double rate here?
Yeah, literally.
Because I'm styling myself at this point.
Because I provided the offense.
Or is that sometimes, like, they can't get my hair right.
One time for a photo shoot.
I look like a straight grandma.
Like, I'm not going to lie.
A senora.
Yeah, true.
Like, I was, I was like an Italian woman in the 50s.
It was so bad.
I don't even know why.
Like, this thing got just, she just,
got really happy with my hair
she was like we're gonna do something crazy
she like pin curled my hair she had me on
like very tight like
they try to do my ponytail
they try to do my pony tail
that I do with a little slick back
but it's like if you want me to do that I can just
do it myself before I get to set because
now I look 55
and personally I don't
want to look 55 especially because the campaign
was like for like tweens like
we were supposed to be young and fun and fresh
out of high school like ooh and I look
like the mom who wants to be young.
It looks like a good life crisis.
That's another point too is like hair and makeup is a big part of that also because I obviously
I have a full-time hair and makeup artist now.
Thank God.
But he just gets my face.
Like I've worked with other hair makeup artists.
God bless him.
But he is the only one who gets my face.
And it's because I've talked about it before.
But like I have very round features because I'm Polynesian.
So like a big round face.
big round cheek big eyes like and so if they've only ever done face like I always look at their
work and if they only ever done like people with like Eurocentric features they're not going to know
how to do my face like it's it's going to look insane and I know because it's happened yeah to me and
I've been like great yeah awesome and then I had to like fix it myself because I just hate how I looked like
it just made me feel really uncomfortable and I just didn't feel pretty and especially if it's for work
Like you're working, you're literally working.
You're supposed to feel good and comfortable.
Yeah.
Like yourself still.
Exactly.
Like an elevated.
Like you just.
Elevated version of yourself.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It's so important.
And like I think it almost feels taboo to talk about because I am thankful for everyone
who works with me.
And like everyone's great.
And it's still talent.
Yeah.
It's just you don't know how to work on me.
Exactly.
And I think why we skipped over?
Like you're not bad, but you just can't work on me.
Yeah.
And I've done that with
stylist too.
I'm like, if you don't dress
big girls,
like if you don't dress
women, if you don't dress
curvy girls, like nothing.
All your clients
are really, really small,
then that's probably not going to work.
Because you don't know how to shop for me
and that's not necessarily
like, it is a bad thing,
but it's not,
that's not necessarily your fault.
It's just not your thing, I guess.
And photographers too.
Yeah.
I always, I want to work with you
and then I look and they have no plus size
showing you on your page.
Mm-hmm.
You want to work with you.
for what?
What have we ever worked with?
Well, and it's just not the same.
It's just like, and it's naive to think that it's all the same.
Like the one people are like, oh, well, I just don't see things like that.
I'm like, because you don't have to.
Right.
Some of us don't have a choice.
You're new to it.
Yeah.
Of course not because they're always ready for you.
You know what I mean?
And it's, it's discouraging.
But then I think what it is on the flip side of that is like it makes you even more
grateful when you do find really, really talented, great people who can work with
anybody.
Yeah.
which is always like a much better situation.
It makes you feel more confident, makes you feel more beautiful.
That's how you should feel when you're like, you know, doing beauty stuff, self-care stuff, anything like that.
Especially shopping.
Something as simple as shopping.
Yeah.
It doesn't have to.
It shouldn't be as hard as it is.
Yeah.
It's funny.
I did my clothing collaboration with change, right?
And they're genderless, size inclusive clothing.
And it's sustainably made.
It's just like a huge reason.
All of them are which huge are huge factors why I worked with them.
the first place. But when they
put out my clothing
and I was promoting it and stuff,
someone was like, I've ordered from change
before. Just to you guys
know it runs a little big. So like I got a 2X
but it is a little big. And it's funny
because I wrote back to them and I was like
it feels big because
it's actually a 2X.
Like that's like it feels too
too big because it's like true to size.
Like it's a literal 2X.
It's not like a 2X should fit like
that. Like that's the point.
Yeah.
And so I was like, it's not too big, it's an actual 2X, I promise.
And they were like, oh, that's such a good point because when we shop, especially as bigger women, we always size up.
Like I can't even tell you how many times I've been like, I'm going to get like a bigger size.
I'm going to size up like maybe one or two sizes just in case.
Yeah.
I literally just talking about it.
Literally before coming on here, we're talking about my pants.
And we're wearing these pants from.
From skims, I was like, I thought they would run a little bit small because they tend to run a little bit small.
They're just tight-fitting clothes, whatever.
And with my pants, especially cargoes, I want them to feel a little bit loose and comfy.
So I got a 2x.
I got the 2X.
I could fit two people in that 2X for sure.
And I was like, wow, I'm actually shook.
Shocks.
Yeah, it's shocked.
That doesn't, like, never happens.
Yeah.
Obviously, I have a wide variety of sizes in my closet.
Yeah.
But especially for pants, I will always size up.
Yeah.
And it like, it made me feel really good because I was like, this is great because not I can
return to someone who's actually 2X can wear it.
And still, and if these are an X-Sel, I still have a lot of room and exactly what I want it.
And that's how it should be.
That's how it should be.
You know?
It should be true to size.
That's when, well, don't say that you can you sell a 2X if it's not a 2X.
That's why the 4X for change is like, which is also indicative, like the size inclusivity
of it all is important because like my dad, for example, like my dad's 6.6.
So my dad's a big dude and always has been.
it is almost impossible for him to shop anywhere because he's also a 14 in shoes.
So like where the fuck am I going to shop the Jolly Green Giant store?
Like there's nowhere for him to shop.
Same with my boyfriend.
He's a big dude too.
So like finding clothes that fit them and make them feel good is really hard.
And so with change, like my dad was like, this is my new personality.
Like wearing all change.
I love that.
Because he loves the 4x sizes fits him well.
it. It fits good and he feels good and he's confident in it.
And like that's the point of, that should be the point of clothing.
I know.
It's supposed to enhance it, make you feel good, make you feel confident, confident, comfortable, all that stuff.
And it's just not nearly as common as it should be, to be honest.
Yeah, it's a bummer.
So today we're going to be talking about modeling as a woman, specifically with Ms. Havi, the expert herself.
Obviously, I am not a model, but I am an expert because I said so, and it's my show.
So I'm telling you I'm an expert.
hobby's an actual expert there you go i can confirm that she's an expert we've talked about this exactly so
for uh those of you who don't know what we'd like to do here on the comment section is we bring videos
i was tagged in that are applicable to our topic today and then we key key laugh about them or uh agree which is not very often but we'll see what happens so
this first video um this is a guy who's talking to the camera and he's saying there's a little bit of confusion
because, like he's in quotes, because when somebody's overweight, everyone praises them when they
flaunt slash model their body.
But when somebody is in great shape and flaunt slash models their body, everyone says
they're conceited.
Who's everyone?
Who says that?
Who tells hot people, hey, put it away.
I don't want to see that.
Who says that?
Who does that?
It's just so wild to me because why are you thinking about overweight people?
Like, why are you so worried about us?
You're so worried about that?
So worried.
It's like, maybe because I'm hotter than you.
Like, sorry.
Maybe get your bread up, I don't know.
Take it up with God.
Clearly, he hates you more than I do.
That's stupid.
Sorry.
What a stupid thing to say.
Hot people, thin people, they're so oppressed.
Nobody ever wants to see them ever.
I want to see you in a bikini, surfing.
I don't want to see that.
Put that away.
You shouldn't belong on Sports Illustrated.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's not your spot.
Yeah.
I'm taking it.
I'm taking it.
They don't, you know what?
They don't get enough.
They don't get enough representation.
No.
Thin people are not.
I never see them.
They're never represented properly.
Girl, go to hell.
What a stupid thing to say.
Like, people think they're conceited.
People only say you're conceited when you're actually conceded.
Yeah.
It's like who?
I mean, you got to be a real hater to just be like hating on everyone who doesn't look like.
I mean, like, let's, let's be real.
Yeah.
That doesn't happen in real life.
No one is, like, pointing at skinny people and being like, don't wear a crop top.
Yeah.
Because I don't want to see your abs.
No one says that.
No, you guys harass the fuck out of fat people all the time.
Yeah.
And God forbid, they feel good in a tank top once in a while because they don't want to show their arms sometimes.
I know.
Like, it's hot out.
You guys, they, they're, like, lively.
are the center point of your thoughts
all the time. You have a problem.
Like, you have a problem. They're talking about
that's promoting body.
Like, that's promoting obese.
According to who? Like,
you see that and you're like, oh my gosh, I'm
going to gain weight. Like, no. And they're the same one that
like probably vape and like do cocaine.
Like, okay, then you're
not as healthy as you say. You clearly
don't care. Like I had
I had Naomi Hearts on the show
and she was, she had such
a good point where she was like,
because she gets those comments all the time, right?
Just as a fat person existing on the internet,
she gets those comments all the time.
And she was talking about how, like,
they'll say that to me,
but like these are the same men who, like,
promote having unprotected sex,
which affects your health and could very well kill you.
But you don't seem to care about that,
Mr. Health Police.
All of a sudden, it's like, well, that's different.
That's different because I don't hate that.
And it's also like the heart issues
and the, it's like, anyone can,
have that.
Yeah.
Literally,
you can be born with a heart issue.
When they say like,
oh,
heart disease,
do you know what the
leading cause of heart disease is?
Smoking.
Do you know what
all these bitches do?
Vap.
So, nicotine is the
leading cause of heart
disease in the country.
Look it up, bitch.
So.
No one talks about it.
Yeah, and everyone's like,
no,
I'm going to focus on
fat people wearing crop tops.
What's your problem?
Like, I'm like,
that's the real illness.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, I just,
not that I get these comments
all the time,
but I,
you know,
my, I call them like co-workers,
because we do the same thing, but
you know, they're bigger than me.
And they're, again, just existing.
Yeah. And that's the first thing.
Yeah, that's like the first thing that they comment on.
And they could be talking about makeup.
Like they could be talking about food.
Yeah, literally.
Anything other than not their body.
Yeah, absolutely.
And that's still the main priority for people to comment on.
Yeah, absolutely.
I saw, I saw actually a TikTok.
It was on Twitter.
Like people were having a discourse about it.
But it was like this small, thin girl.
and she was like what I eat in a day
and she ate like a whole box
of donuts. Whether or not she actually
ate them is up for debate. It could have
just been reviews. Who knows?
But someone was like, oh
I'm so jealous, like
that someone can eat like this and look like her.
And someone else
was like, first of all,
she probably didn't actually eat all those donuts
so it's like a waste of food. But second of all,
the obsession with wanting to watch
thin people eat, but then
when like fat people are
eating or curvy people, plus people, whatever.
Anyone non-thin
is eating, or filming themselves eating,
you guys want to talk about health?
Yeah.
Like all of a sudden you guys are like dietitians,
nutritionists, like all of you are like...
Honestly, even if they are, I literally just saw a TikTok who...
She's a certified nutritionist.
Yeah.
And she was talking about how she loves eating.
She doesn't gain weight because of this isn't that.
And then all the...
I think she was deleting comments.
Because I would have been on that ass.
I would be like, girl, how are you a nutritionist?
And you're talking about...
Promoting.
promoting thinness being.
And then she replied to a comment.
Yeah, literally.
EAD, completely.
Yeah.
And she replied to one of the comments, like, pointing that out.
Yeah.
And she was like, well, as you eat healthy and you start to lose weight, like, you feel better.
And blah, I was like, oh, my best friend is much healthier than me.
Mm-hmm.
And she's not skinny.
Mm-hmm.
So she's probably much healthier than you.
Yeah, and it's just not indicative of anything.
anything. That's why I've talked about how literally I've talked about how because like I
go to the gym and stuff. I'm not a gym person by any means. The only workouts I have are because
my boyfriend is a licensed trainer. So I go to the gym for the brain. Like and I it's just movement.
Like that's how I see it. I'm like it's movement to get my brain because I'm mentally ill.
So I like to I like to do that so that it gets me moving and and it keeps me healthy up here.
Yeah. And I was recently talking to someone because they were like, oh, can you show me pictures of like,
four and afters like when you were going to
the gym and I was like I'm going to be
100% real with you I'm not doing those anymore
like I used to take pictures
for like progress pictures
like back in the day
but now I don't do that because it's body checking
and it's very purest form it's body checking
it's nothing more than that
so I first of all don't want to promote that kind of content
because some people it's very triggering to see
stuff like that and then second
of all it's not indicative
of whether or not I was worthy
of love success
attention, anything like that in my bigger size, in my smaller, like whatever.
Whatever season my body's in doesn't mean I'm more or less deserving of respect or love, right?
So I don't want to keep those kinds of thoughts in my brain anymore.
And by doing that, I don't want to take pictures anymore because I'm like, it's just not, it doesn't
serve me.
It's not fair to me.
And that's amazing because I feel like not a lot of people think that way, especially if they're going to the gym.
They think that they need to have the before and afters and the progress and whatever.
measuring their waist and like weighing themselves.
I stopped weighing myself literally like five years ago.
Oh, girl, same.
I stopped doing myself a long time ago.
Like I don't own a scale.
Like you asked me, no idea.
No idea.
Honestly, none of my business.
That's what I think.
Because also like there's all, just because of a certain number doesn't mean anything.
It's not indicative of health at all.
Yeah.
Also, BMI.
Yeah.
So that's what I said too.
So it's like everything that we've been taught about health and everything.
Like it just went out the window for me.
Yes.
And in college, like, I was.
I was working, I, very depressed, human being.
And I was working out twice today.
And I was super, I was like the skinniest I've ever been.
And of course everyone's like complimenting me.
And I'm thinking like, oh my God, like hot shit, whatever.
And then I'm like, but I'm depressed.
Yeah.
But I'm not happy.
And I don't even feel like myself.
Mentally you're not healthy.
Yeah.
And then, you know, as I started feeling better and, you know, going to therapy and like being
my better self, you start to put on weight because you're happy because you're eating.
You're not like restricting yourself.
You're living life.
And now I still work out.
I'm active.
I play volleyball.
I literally just hosted an event with my best friend.
We did like a workout Galentine's Day.
Yeah, I love that.
And obviously we make sure to say, you know, this is a safe space.
We feel really safe in this space.
Our trainers too are amazing.
I love them to death.
Yeah.
And they've just made us feel so welcome in a gym.
And I feel like I was.
And that's rare.
Yes.
Because you walk in and you feel like everyone's staring at you.
Yeah.
Like you don't know what you're doing.
they don't know like your fitness journey or just your journey in general so you feel like everyone's
judging you and sometimes they are yeah yeah so it just it felt really important for me and my best
friends to actually like have that space I love that for women and for bigger women yeah and it was
such a beautiful thing like I cry ki ki have oh yeah it was so sweet because it is a it's a beautiful thing
to find community and spaces where you are so notorious.
notoriously unwelcome all the time.
Yeah.
Because that toxic, Jimbrough, misogynistic mentality, it's so rooted in fatphobia.
And they are violently fatphobic, not towards, not just towards others, but towards themselves as well.
And so I've talked about, like, my journey with body neutrality.
And then also, like, talking about the pics, I said, too, I don't weigh myself because
some people have asked, like, what are some good tips to, like, start, you know, I really want
to get started on my fitness journey, but, like, they're working on unpacking.
their internalized fat phobia, which is part of the process.
But I talked about like, I don't weigh myself.
I don't count anything when I eat.
I'm just like, I eat to enjoy and that's it.
Like it's just like food is supposed to nourish you.
It's not supposed to be demonized or be stigmatized to be something that's there to harm you.
That's just something you've developed because you've been in a society where they're so, so, so, so horrible to fat people.
Like they're just, they demonize fatness and it's horrible.
and so I feel like it's important for them to see representation I think events like that are so awesome and incredible and like just such a great way to kind of further the conversation around what fitness looks like for everyone it's not the same it's not everyone's going to have the same goals yeah exactly yeah that's what I said to it was like I don't have like a fitness goal that I'm trying to reach I say I honestly I like going to this class it's fun for me yeah like that's it like I don't need to have like I want to have like I want to have like I want to have like I'm trying to reach I say I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm not I'm
have this triceps and this option.
Like, I don't, I don't, I don't care.
I love my soft body.
I don't want to be a rock.
Like, yeah.
I like it.
I like the way that I look already.
Yeah, same.
I don't have, like, things that I want to change.
Yeah.
I just, I want to feel strong.
I want to feel like I can, deadlift, like, yeah.
600 pounds.
Yeah.
I can't.
But I will.
I will get there.
Yeah.
And, you know, like, I feel strong.
Like, it feels cool.
Like, I feel cool.
Yeah.
I talked about that, like, I want to feel strong.
I want to feel like, like, like, like, I will get.
can lift really heavy.
Like my,
my only fitness goal I have is I want to be able to bench a plate right now,
like 45 on each side.
I can't do,
not even close to that right now,
but like I want,
that's my fitness goal for this year is to do that.
And whenever they ask me like,
oh,
like,
what's your favorite thing to train?
I'm always like back,
because I want my back to look like a bag of ropes,
bitch.
I want to,
like,
when I turn around on top list,
I want people to think it's the rock.
Yeah.
Like when I turn around,
they're like,
who the hell is that?
And then I turn around,
it's me.
I want to,
I want a back that just looks insane from behind.
I want to be like literally so muscular from the back.
That's like my fitness goal right now.
I do love a sexy back.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm trying to have like muscles back there.
Like all the,
my boyfriend has them.
I'm like whatever.
Or that like line?
Yeah, yeah.
I just want like those,
I want big ass traps and I want my back to just, oh.
When I see fitness girls and their backs are so juiced, I'm like, you go off, bitch, right?
I love it.
Muscle mommy.
That's what I'm trying to be.
That's my only fitness.
his goal. But anywho, so let's get into these comments from this terrible video.
Okay.
This first one said, this is so true. People don't like mirrors as in people that force
them to reflect on the results of their own poet choices. That's also a woman, so that's a
pygmy. Oh, okay. Well, like, who are you to hold up the mirror? Like, why are you the person
who needs to, you know what I'm saying? Like, so it's like, I mean, I feel like we're in her brain.
So is that what you're thinking about yourself?
Because projection.
Yeah.
That's what that is.
I never would have.
People really come up with the craziest like.
Like narratives.
Yeah.
They're like conspiracy.
You really sit here.
They have a notepad.
Yeah.
They're like, I'm going to see this tomorrow.
It's like they want to write their jokes or something and it's not, well, it's not funny.
Yeah.
And you're only portraying what you're thinking of.
Like at the end of the day, that's all that it is.
It's projection.
That it's very.
Yeah. Like to say you're insecure and go. Yeah. If you hate yourself, that's on you.
Yeah. That's like, that's a personal problem. That's why, yeah, exactly. And I always think too,
that's like, that's literally them saying I've been conditioned my whole life to hate myself if I am fat.
Yeah. And also I refuse to change. Yeah. And I, yeah, I've been conditioned my whole life. I need to hate myself if that's the case.
I see someone who is not thin loving themselves unconditionally in love, success.
having a wonderful, amazing, fulfilled life.
And then I'm like, that pisses me off because my life still sucks, even though I'm in shape.
And what's the problem?
It's you.
Maybe like, check your personality.
I don't know.
That's what I said, like, if you have the bod, let's just say for argument's sake, you're like the worst man in the world.
You are violently bigoted, fat phobic, especially, big Jimbrough, 10% body fat.
Let's just say you do have a partner.
Like, you're in love with a woman.
You're not.
chance that you actually literally or like you have a great job or you have a lot of money whatever
anyways let's just say you have the you have the god Greek god you know what I mean let's just say
you have that and you still don't have a girl and you still don't have friends and you don't maybe it's
you yeah absolutely at what point do you're like maybe I suck ass maybe that's why wouldn't you look
inward yeah I'm like oh you're insufferable that's why it's your personality yeah which is far worse
Like, wouldn't you rather people be like, you're ugly?
I don't want to hang out with you than like, it's the essence of you.
It makes me want to mom it.
Yeah, it's just sour.
I don't want to be around it.
Yeah.
Can you imagine.
Pungent.
Oh, my guess.
I can't smell it.
Like, I'm sorry.
Can't be around people like that.
Yeah, no.
Sorry.
Mine, I have very sensitive nose.
I can't be around people like that.
Sorry, sorry, can't.
Yeah, this next one says,
haters is going to hate the narrative of most human beings when they can't achieve something
but secretly.
still wanted but won't put in the effort.
That's the greatest conspiracy I've ever heard.
They're like, no, you want to look like this.
No, I don't.
No. No, but like, actually.
Yeah, the way they give meaning to things that have no meaning, like, they're like,
everybody wants.
It's just like that audio when they're like, don't be silly, everybody wants this.
The one's like eating one almond a day.
I'm like, I'm much rather eat a cheeseburger.
That's why the way that they're so like convinced.
that everybody wants to live that same, like,
fitness lifestyle that they have.
That's insane.
Whatever happened to, like, live and let live,
like, they are so worried about us.
And we're not.
Like, when...
I ain't worried about you.
I'm sorry, but I got, like, I would never...
Like, I would get secondhand embarrassment,
even though it's myself,
to make a video about a skinny person.
Yeah.
For the one, why would I do that?
Yeah.
That's weird.
That's weird.
I would never comment on someone's body like that.
No, literally.
It's an obsession. At that point, you're a fan.
Yeah. That's what you are. You're obsessed.
You're in my DMs. Yeah, literally.
Literally. You call me a fat bitch.
You love me. Clearly.
Sometimes, like, when I had Dylan Mulvaney on the show, she was like, do you ever get men?
Because obviously, like, she gets creepies.
Like, men who, like, violently hate her publicly, but then, like, they also are attracted
to her, and that's part of the reason why.
Yeah. And she was like, do you ever get anything like that? I'm like,
no it's pretty just standard fat bitch all across the board you know what i mean that's pretty much what they say
to me nothing real different or nuanced i don't think there's another level to that uh correct me if i'm wrong
but i don't think there's a yeah a hidden attraction to that i mean there might be but i doubt it
like for the most of them they just hate me but yeah uh i think it's indicative of like they always
just want to comment on like your body because they're convinced that that's going to hurt you the most
if they like say they don't want to
you. You're like, oh, bummer.
Damn. I was really banking on that this weekend.
What?
I'm so sorry.
What am I going to do?
I think also they don't like outspoken women.
Like you obviously.
Yeah, that's true.
You'd be drilling these bitches.
Like, I, wow.
I wish I had the conbacks you did
because I, well, I don't have the brain power.
But I just, they hate that.
They hate that you are so, like, quick-witted too.
and they just
they can't comprehend the fact that this is
like coming out of your mouth
like they're like she has a brain
everybody stop yeah and
and it doesn't the brain doesn't hold
male validation literally at all
and I've talked about that
I know you're like this too
and that's I talked about that with Chrissy
Schlepeka like I was like
they just really hate
that they can tell that we don't care
what they say like it just doesn't affect me
literally at all in fact it motivates me
to keep going yeah
That's why I think that all the time
It's the same thing with you too
Because they like see you living your best life
And being successful and happy
And they're like
But I think you're ugly
I think you're fat
And then you're like okay
Yeah amazing love that
Bye
Thanks have a great day
Thank you so much
See you later
I'll grab it tomorrow
Yeah
I'll see you again tomorrow
Because you'll be back I'm sure
Yeah
Okay so this next
Let's get into this next video
This one says
A model records a before an
after a video with the caption, at a modeling job, let's see if the hairstylist can do textured
hair.
She records the finished hair of the white models of the job, who the stylist has styled in different
ways.
They all look good and are varied, like flat iron, curled, et cetera.
And then she records her own hair, which the stylist has just put up, bunched up, and
tied off.
Dude.
Like, they taught me having flashbacks.
And you know what?
Obviously, I can't really.
I don't have textured hair.
Yeah.
So, but I've seen that happen.
Yeah.
And I think I've seen that video actually too.
It's so ridiculous.
Like you are not qualified.
If you can't do a black woman's hair, you are not qualified to do hair.
Truly.
Like, I'm sorry, but like, go back to school.
With many different models from many different ethnic backgrounds.
You get the call sheet and you have a woman of color and you have a black woman and they have more textured hair.
And you call yourself a hairstylist, baby.
You have to work.
Yeah.
Like, hello.
Do your research, man.
Yeah.
It's also, I feel like that happens a lot too with makeup artists too.
Like their ability.
Yeah, getting skin tones right.
Undertones.
Yeah, undertones is a big thing.
Yeah.
And I've had that, I've had the makeup happen with someone before where they asked me like
what my skin type was and I told them like, I'm very dry.
So like I need something really hydrating or else it will literally peel off like spackle
bitch. Like it will literally like scratch off like paint. Um, she didn't listen to me. Not even a little bit.
She did. She did the most matifying, like, drying. So it peeled off. And also it didn't match me.
Literally all my undertones are very like yellow warm. Yeah. She used a really cool tone. So it like
made me look like a dead body. Girl. I looked muddy as hell. I was so bad. That's happened to me
before. Like in the summer, I'm super tan. So they'll opt out for like more yellowy.
foundations, warmer tones, cool.
But now it's winter.
Baby, I look jaundiced.
Like, I look sick.
So, but my undertone is, it's like a little more neutral, but a little on the warm side.
Yeah, same.
I can do neutral for sure.
Yeah.
But I don't know why they still can't get it right.
And I look even sicker.
And I don't know.
It's the hot mess.
And that's their job.
I know.
Like they literally got hired for the job just like you got hired for the job.
So you would think.
You would think.
Yeah.
And also with like, um, it's the job.
We talked about features.
Yeah.
My eyes, I have, like, hooded eyes.
There's, like, a little bit, like, smaller, a little slanty.
Yeah.
And they try to give me, like, a smoky eye, and it just looks terrible.
Or they try to give me a wing, the shit, like, hides in my lid.
Yeah, and they don't know how to do.
And, like, that's not how my eye works.
And then the contouring.
They'll try to contour my nose.
Like, I have a bump, like, a longer nose.
Yeah.
Ancestors pulling through for that one.
And, yeah, like, they can't, it just won't look good on my face.
Yeah.
Especially when I feel like I've gotten really good at do my makeup and what I like.
And I don't really, like, other than just me being on a set, I don't really get my makeup done that often.
And I have one makeup artist that I really, really love.
When I work with Princess Polly.
Yeah.
And I love her.
Like, she beats my face to the gods.
I love her.
But she's the, I would say she's the only one who's, like, on my face.
And so she happens to be Latina.
And she knows, like, what we go through.
So it's like, this.
So she gets it.
The fact that I even have to.
just have someone just that we have things in common for you to do my face right is you all need to
go back to school.
No truly.
Go back to beauty school, please.
That's literally my, my hair makeup artist is someone.
So he like, he's obviously a man, but he has done someone faces countless times, like for
proms, you know, weddings, baby showers, like everything you could think of.
And so like when I was getting ready to like hire someone for like my show and stuff, he was.
He did my makeup for prom, like, back in the day, like, when I went to high school prom.
And so I was like, I want to work with someone who gets my face, like, gets someone faces, like, does them very well and doesn't try to, like, hide their features.
That's another thing.
I felt like the few times I have worked with other artists, like, I just feel like they just, they try to make me look like somebody else, which is not the point.
Like, the point is supposed to be, I am beautiful regardless.
but you should be elevating mine the same way you can elevate a white girl's face.
Exactly.
You got to do mine too.
It's like they work with like templates.
Yeah, exactly.
It's like they have one way of contouring, one way of highlighting, one way of concealing, whatever.
And it's like that's not going to work with the same skin tone for the same skin texture, same person, different different features.
Yeah.
It's just not.
Especially when it comes to like the contouring, like the nose, cheeks, foreheads, everything.
They're very different on very many different ethnicities.
So that's why I'm like, that's why I said the same, like my hair,
makeup artist to someone too so I think that's why he gets it but it sucks that it has to
sometimes it comes down to that like it's somebody who just gets you and it's a bummer but
anyway so these comments on this video this one says why not come with hair prepped if you know
they don't do curly hair aren't you a model that's not her job yeah you said it yeah she's a
model yeah she's not meant to do anything but just sit there and be a model yeah you shouldn't
I mean, I've said, like, when that lady tried to do my hair, I said to them, I was like, they knew it looked awful.
First of all, I was like, you know you're looking at me right now, and it's not in a good way.
I was like, can I please, like, after lunch, can I fix my hair?
And I'll do that.
Yeah.
But that's not our job.
That's not what you're hired for.
You shouldn't have had to do that.
Exactly.
Just like she shouldn't have to do that either.
It should just be a good job on both ends.
I'm a good boy.
You're a good hairstylist.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they tell you if they want you to do that?
to come ready? Yes. Like they'll tell me if they want a specific type of makeup or like if I need
my nails done. They send me all the info before I even get to say it. Or they'll tell you like come,
just come blank and they'll do it when you get there. So they probably told her, don't worry.
Because mind you like if you're a woman of color or a black woman and you've been in this industry
for a long time, you know to ask ahead of time. Like you know to ask at a time. Thankfully I don't
have to ask anymore because now I have a hair and makeup artist and now I have. So but like you can
is the person who's there
do they know how to work on people
of color?
Hello?
Just a fun thought.
Just before I come, can I?
And sometimes they'll be like, yeah.
Yeah.
I always bring extra stuff with me now.
Like, even with makeup, like, I bring my own makeup
because I want to just jizz in the bathroom
and they don't know.
They're like, oh, you're going to make it.
It looks amazing.
I'm like, yeah, I fixed it for the past like 13 minutes.
That's right.
And that sucks.
But you have to, like, you have to stay ready like that.
just in case it goes south and it's a train wreck and then it's on you to fix it so you're like okay
yeah i'm gonna go i'm gonna go redo my whole face i'll be right back
okay and this uh last comment says so you're a model you hardly get to say if you care quit
well that's just like a juvenile thing to ride in the first place it's kind of like you don't like
this country move away yeah it's like wow oh why don't i think of up and go okay why didn't i think of that
a lot of people will say that about models
when we talk about these things like we complain it's still a job
yeah there's still things that go wrong
there's still things that we don't completely agree with
yeah and we do this job for so many different reasons
like you don't know why she's doing this job literally
like you don't know her reasons well and also like you think
like the the reason why she filmed it is because she knew
yeah you don't have to she had feeling
it's a it's an issue yeah it's happened so many times
that wasn't her being like oh my god I'm like
the most miserable
person in the world.
Like, she's literally like, let's see if they know how to do it.
And shocker, they didn't.
So that was like the joke of it, the gag of it, is that models like that I feel like
are always ready for shit like that to happen.
Yeah.
They're like, you do have to prepare for worse.
Yeah.
When you work with people you've never worked with before.
Yes.
You're like, well, this could go terrible.
So I'm going to bring stuff just in case.
For sure.
And I mean, that is kind of part of it too.
Like, obviously you have to be ready for anything.
Yeah.
A lot of mishaps can happen on set.
And like that's fine.
It's always good to be ready for sure.
You shouldn't just like come empty handed on.
Yeah.
But also it shouldn't be your job to do everything that someone was hired to do.
Well, especially when all the other girls were fine.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Like, hello.
You're like, that's so great for you guys.
And you know what I do too?
Like on call sheets like they'll put the Instagram handles for not just the models but like the hairstylist.
Yeah.
I look them up.
So I'm like, have you done like my type of face before?
Yeah.
Have you done like or have you styled my stuff?
type of body before.
Yeah.
And if I don't see anything, I'm like, okay, I need a safety pan.
Yeah.
And then more bobby pans and my hair ties and my makeup.
Yeah, you know what to pack then at that point.
Yeah.
I feel that.
Yeah.
And it's just part of the game at that.
At this point, like we've said before in the beginning, like there has been so much
progress, but there is still so much more progress to make, which is it's never a bad
thing to be, like, aware and to be like, how can I better, like, serve or.
or help, you know, models who are, like, doing this for a living, like, as, like, a stylist, a hair
stylist or a makeup artist, like, to do your research and be like, you know what, maybe I should
brush up a little bit on how to do texture hair or how to do...
Especially if they're, like, a little bit older, so they grew up in, you know, in times where
we weren't that aware of things.
Exactly.
So, yeah, it's, like, really good to just, like, you know, freshen up.
The point is it's on you.
Like, it's on you.
If you care enough to look into it, then you will.
Also, if you want to be a well-versed artist in that sense,
like, why wouldn't you want to up your skills a little bit?
Yeah.
The tea of that, too, is that the models themselves or even any person you work with
in entertainment, like, they will never forget that if you were really good.
Like, that just said, like, my makeup artist, like, the one makeup artist that I get.
And I love her, Nikki.
She was the best.
She did my makeup for the Bad Bunny concert, too.
Oh, love.
And she was like, welcome to L.A.
because she's from LA.
And it was just so nice.
Like, we talked about so many things that we have in common.
And it was just so nice to, you know, just,
it was like talking to a friend.
I feel like a lot of times when I don't have a lot in common with the makeup
parties when they don't know how to do my face.
Especially when they don't know how to do it.
I'm just quiet.
I'm just quiet.
We don't really talk about much.
But, yeah, like, it just shouldn't take someone to, like, be the same, you know,
that close to me.
Yeah.
To get you.
You should just know how to do you.
your job at the end of the day. Yeah, at the end of the day, the least you can do. Yeah,
the very, very least. So what kind of advice would you have for, whether they're in the
creator space, the modeling space, looking to get into either or both? Like, what is, like,
some advice you may have for them, like, something that you want them to remember or hold on to?
Yeah. Your opinion is the only one that matters, period, at the end of the day. Yeah.
Um, honestly not even your family.
Sorry.
Um, even if they're a supportive.
I have a supportive family.
But yeah, I think if you have a goal in mind, whether it comes to modeling or creating
or whatever, just go after it, dude.
Yeah.
That's like, it's so easy to get in the way of yourself.
Yeah.
And people say you're on your, you're your own worst critic, but be your best supporter.
Yeah.
Just be your own fan.
Yeah.
And, and, and, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Period.
I love that.
I'm here with me and you're in this body forever, first of all.
So get used to it.
But yeah, just and just do it.
Don't think too hard.
Don't overthink it.
The worst that can happen is maybe you're not the next Charlie DeMilleo.
But like, that's fine too.
You know, you're your own person.
Yeah, there's only one though.
That's the beauty of it.
There's only one of you.
And I think to, especially when it comes to the modeling industry,
because, you know, you're so representative of a lot of different body types,
but also like Latino women in general, like they,
representation is just so important in many different aspects,
especially in an industry that's predicated solely was literally built from the ground up off beauty centers,
like Eurocentric beauty centers.
And then you have women like Javi who are like changing the game and changing the narrative around what it means to be a model.
Right.
Like a model can take many different shapes and forms,
which is how it should be.
Yeah.
Because there are many other people who look differently in the world.
Like that's why I always think it's so
It's so close-minded to think that everyone should look the same
Yeah I always say even last night
I was like a little get-together like a little party
And someone asked me what I didn't
I was like a model and they're like computing
They're like reboot reset like you're a model
They're so confused because I'm not tall
I'm not sure Bella Hadid but yeah I'm a model
And I'm not gonna over explain it I'm not gonna over explain
I'm a plus size model
I'm not gonna say I'm an influencer
I'm not gonna say my life story
I'm a model and I'm gonna just leave you with that
and see what you can do with that information.
Well, you don't owe anyone a justification.
Yeah.
And people, sometimes I get like the shocked thing.
They're like, oh, yeah, you're so pretty.
Like, that makes sense, cool.
But sometimes they're very shocked.
They're like, because like the idea of a model to them is so different.
Yeah, exactly.
But that's not how it should be.
That mindset.
And that's not the reality.
No, truly.
Like, actually, literally.
Yeah.
Like, and so I encourage you all to please follow a hobby
and to follow creators just like Javi.
Javi also has lots of friends who are also models,

which is how it should be.
