Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is brought to you by Billy. So y'all know that first everything shower you take during the summer after swimming all day. Ugh, can't get enough of it. And you got to get the Billy Razor into your life. It's designed for how women actually shave. Legs, pits, toes, happy trail, wherever prickles decide to show up. It has five sharp blades and a pivoting head so you can actually get everywhere without doing shower gymnastics. And it comes with a magnetic holder so your razor's.
Starting point is 00:00:30 stays dry on the wall instead of sitting in a shower puddle. Grab a billy razor in your favorite color in store or at mybilly.com. This episode is brought to you by Pandora. This Mother's Day, celebrate the woman who's been there through it all with Pandora jewelry. I'm talking about the dreamer, the achiever, the one who's been there through everything, and a gift that actually feels like her, not just something picked off a shelf at the last minute. For me, I personally love Pandora because of how easy it is to make someone feel special, without over complicating it.
Starting point is 00:01:01 So, for example, I have a charm bracelet from Pandora, and it's all customized with all little charms that match me and my personality, and you could do the same for your mom. So find the perfect Mother's Day gift at your local Pandora store or online at Pandora.net. I'm like the girl that's, like, just happy to be there.
Starting point is 00:01:18 I'm always ensemble, sure. Who doesn't love an ensemble part? The ensemble's essential. Come on, no, we need it for the whole show. Me being like, I haven't been in the show since I was like 19, I think. But I'm like, we need the ensemble. Hey, everyone, and welcome back to another episode
Starting point is 00:01:42 of the comment section show. Sorry, me, your favorite. Everybody knows me. Cares about me. On to the guest. Today, we have the iconic, the legendary, another all-star, Chrissy Schlepeka. Woo!
Starting point is 00:01:55 Welcome back, Queen. Well, thank you. I'm happy to be here. Oh, my God, I'm so happy to have you. It's been a while. It's been a while. I did wear a little bit of pink for you. I love it.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Obviously on the shoes. I was trying to, like, match Chrissy's vibe. It's looking good. And it's the perfect shade of pink too. I'm saying, I think so. You were right. You were right for that. Thank you. This episode is presented by Too Good and Co. Creamer. My go-to coffee is an iced vanilla latte personally, but whether you enjoy your coffee hot, cold, bold, or frothy, if you want to take it up a level, two good creamers make every sip a good one. Why? Because they're made with farm fresh cream, real milk, and contain three grams of sugar per serving. That's 40% less. than the 5 grams per serving and leading traditional coffee creamers for a rich, creamy, and delicious experience.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Find two good creamers in the creamer aisle. I'm so happy to have you. How has life been? Oh my. It's been a journey since the last time we sat down. I know we were in costume or I was in costume. You were in costume and you were unfortunately having to look at me in the costume. And I thought you looked beautiful. Thank you. No, you were stunning first of all. Um, I mean since then I like moved to L.A. and yeah. Became a I came a pop star. Period. And that happened.
Starting point is 00:03:09 And the rest is history. Girl, the rest is history. So tell me about anything new you've been working on lately. Because I know you were telling me a little bit offline, but I want the people to hear it. Oh, yes. Okay. What I've been working on, well, I'm literally, as of today, when we're filming this, about to leave for tour tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:03:26 How exciting. Crazy. Yeah. I was saying to you, like, I don't know how the hell this happened. I decided and, like, well, I got, like, dropped by my. agent and dropped by a couple of people and really who were like yeah they're like you can't sell tickets you can't do all that and i'm in aries and i'm a bitch so i was like watch me and now i'm like selling out a bunch of cities and i'm about to leave and i'm like now you're doing 19 cities
Starting point is 00:03:51 yeah like i'm just like shocked it happened though why what exactly are you shocked about it's just like like i'm like you're fantastic nothing to be shocked about here i mean like yeah i work hard and I'm proud of myself and I've done a lot. I'm just like, it's just like, oh, it's actually happening. Like, I decide to do this in December. And like, it's now February. And I'm like, oh, okay, I guess I'm doing a show. Time flies when you're being a pop star.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Tell me about it. Well, tell me about the new music, because you have quite a few new music, new singles out. Yes. You know I'm a fan of passion fruit. I know. You know I'm a fan of fashion fruit. I've already, I was listening to it at the gym. I was on a real kick with it at the gym.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I died during cardio. It's a good song. It's a good cardio song. Yes. Yes. I'm loving it. I was so honored when you posted it too. I was like, oh, I'm cool.
Starting point is 00:04:41 I was like, if you're posting this, like, I must be really cool. I love it. Oh, thank you. Who doesn't? Yeah, I'm telling you. Who doesn't? So tell me about new music. Tell me about all of it.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I know you have quite a few singles out. Yes, I have. So I just released like the first half of my project called Christine. I released that about a month ago. I had seven songs on it. Very cool. And literally, I was all. Also, as of today, we are filming this tomorrow, I am promoting a new song.
Starting point is 00:05:10 How fun. Which will be super fun and will release while I'm on tour. Very cool. It's called Indromeda. And it's going to be really fierce and fun. And then I have a whole other B-side of the project to put out. And, yeah. As all your many plates that you're spinning.
Starting point is 00:05:29 So many. And I love every one of them. You're a very, very busy pop star. Can you tell me about the new project? Like where did it come from like inspiration-wise? Like how are you feeling when you put this project together? Wow. It's such a like, it's so interesting because I wrote this project and probably like one of my like
Starting point is 00:05:46 darkest, I feel like moments of myself in like my career. I feel like I started like obviously a lot of people know me from my online content being goofy, silly. Yeah. And we love her and she's still here. But like I think I found myself being like I don't. It's not that I don't resonate. with that girl that I am. It's just like there's more to myself.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Like I grew up as a musician. I grew up doing theater. Like I've always dreamed of bigger. And you can sing, bitch. You can sing, bitch, for real. Chrissy can sing for real, period. I mean, listen. And you know that, that is true.
Starting point is 00:06:25 That's like what you're like, I feel like is one of your strongest powers as being able to sing. And your purpose. Absolutely. Absolutely. Like there's no, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing and like going on stage and singing and like,
Starting point is 00:06:38 I don't know, as a kid, it was like, I'm either gonna listen to my parents screaming at each other downstairs or I'm gonna belt louder than them, bitch. And that's what I did. That's how I learned to sing. So like, you know, it's just, it's so emotional and like, I don't know, I feel like when I got to LA, you get here and then there's a million people telling you,
Starting point is 00:06:58 this is what you should do and this is who you should meet and you should be this way and do this and X, Y, and Z. And I just got so overwhelmed that I stopped. I stopped. I stopped doing everything. I like, I put out one EP that I kind of just didn't promote and like I kind of wasn't proud of it. I love it.
Starting point is 00:07:13 It just wasn't me. Right. And I just completely like shrank and I just completely like put myself in a like a box and it was just like I can't look at myself. I can't post. I can't make music. All of this and I just didn't know what to do. Because it was like, do I be the girl that everyone knows me as or do I be?
Starting point is 00:07:35 the girl that everyone knows me as but with the things I love that are hard to achieve that I'm willing to try and I don't know I just like one day literally in August woke up and I was like okay I need to stop being so hard on myself being like overthinking everything I need to like cut everyone out not cut everyone out but like all of the people who are like you need to be doing it this way you're not good enough doing this like you can't do all that and I was like I'm just going to let that go. I'm going to write a project in two weeks and I'm going to release it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:10 And that's exactly what I did. Okay, period. And how did you feel trying that new method? It was so liberating. It was so amazing just to like be like, I'm going to rely on me and I'm going to rely on what I love. And like I didn't wait. I didn't make so much music where I was like picking through it and like this is the one. Like this is the one.
Starting point is 00:08:29 It was just like I like passion fruit. So I'm going to put out first. And I ended up doing fine. Like it did great. And then with the others and the whole project itself, it just was like, it's called Christine because that's like my name, you know? Yeah. And like, that's the girl. Like, that's the girl I know and I love and I wrote it for her.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And it just really came out of nowhere. Yeah. But also came out of like a need. I was like, I need to make something and I need to do something. Right. Same with this tour. Like, I just, I need to do it and I need to like also be comfortable if it just like doesn't go the way I want it to. Well, you're also a creative, right?
Starting point is 00:09:05 So when you're not creating, you feel like you're dying probably. Oh, yeah. Right. So it's like, that's one of those things where you're like, I need to get back to me. I think that's really brave and courageous of you because it's hard, especially in the music industry, shit. The way that they want to mold you and change you and what they think will sell. And also I agree with, I totally get what you mean about feeling distant from the TikTok version of yourself. Because I feel that way too many, many times.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Like, because we all know, like you and I both came up. honestly around the same time on TikTok but also like with very specific niches so we have like very specific things which like like you said I agree with what you said about how like that is me but that's not everything and it does get exhausting after a while
Starting point is 00:09:48 feeling like having to perform as that thing as opposed to what you everything else that makes you who you are totally so I get what you mean because it gets very stifling and it gets very like pigeonholie almost like it feels like every single thing you do or when you have people that want to work with you, they really want you to lean into that one very specific thing. But you're like, okay, but that was like, that was like part of it.
Starting point is 00:10:14 And I have lots of other things to offer and it doesn't have to be just that. Like, yeah, like I love her. Like she's fierce. And it's not that I'm not like silly, goofy, funny running around. But it's like I'm not not on the streets of Chicago anymore. I'm not 22. Like I'm doing things that I really care about and I really love. And, like, like those things come with it, but, you know, it's, it's almost like a flip and career completely. It's like, I have to reconvince people to like care about it, you know, in a way. Yeah, I see what you mean. Which, like, is kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Also, it's like, I love a challenge. Well, and then you get to, when you do it that way, you get to do it the way you want and the way that you want to be perceived. Like, you get to put yourself out there in a way that feels true and authentic to you. Absolutely. As opposed to what people think will sell. Exactly. Which could be anything.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Like, that's, they never. They act like they know, but they don't always know. Do they ever know? That's what I'm saying. Sometimes they just get lucky. And like, can we talk about it? It's like all these men, all the time. It's all these men.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Every time in this industry who are like, you as a woman, I'm going to tell you what sells. And I'm going to tell you how you should look and how you should act. And how and two women, how what sells two women. Yes. Which is crazy. Which is crazy. It was just like, it's so, it was so jarring the first couple years of my career in music that like, I never really have talked about or touched on because it just was like I felt like I got
Starting point is 00:11:37 swarmed about with people what they wanted from me right and I would like kind of do it like kind of not and then when I wouldn't do it the way they wanted they're like oh you're worthless right oh we don't like you and you're like you're like you told me to do that you told me to do that also like why are you not trusting the girl that built her whole thing herself anyway exactly that's like the frustrating part absolutely that's why like at this point in my music journey I'm like very untrusting yeah of the industry and the business itself just because it's like I don't think you're going to give me something that I need to know right now and like you're not going to pay attention to me until you
Starting point is 00:12:15 have to exactly and that's okay yeah that's so fine I'd rather you not pay attention well and then at that level you might as well just do it on your own exactly at that point without them siphoning shit off of you at the same time literally and like giving you fake money that's like not yours and like it's This episode is brought to you by Calvin Klein. Euphoria Calvin Klein just dropped. The new elixir collection by Calvin Klein, featuring three perfume intense scents inspired by a unique orchid accord paired with vanilla. Each one has its own distinct attitude, its own universe.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Bold elixir is sensual, woody, and addictive. Magnetic elixir is sweet and romantic, like a lingering touch. And solar elixir is bright and rich. radiant, joy in a bottle. They're ultra-concentrated for a scent that really lasts. Find Your Euphoria with the Euphoria Elixir Collection by Calvin Klein. It's just so confusing and, like, exhausting, and I'm just glad I learned so early in the game of my music. Right, totally.
Starting point is 00:13:22 I'm still a new artist. Absolutely. And I'm still learning so much, but, like, I learn quickly, like, uh-uh. You are, you adapt. That's what you do. The divas are going to come to you and go, you are the next thing. and then you're going to be like, yeah, okay, girl. Like, I will be on my own time.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Right, and the only people that honestly are right every time they pick are the gays. Can we talk about it? Right. The only time they, like, someone who has like a 100% batting average are the gays. Exactly. When they pick a girl in pop, that's the one. They're right. Yeah, they're right.
Starting point is 00:13:53 They're right. Every time they're right. They're right. And they, you know what? They're just, it takes a little longer for them to see the theater girls in pop. That's true. But they'll see us. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Okay. They'll see us. I'm curious about theater. Have you ever thought about doing Broadway? Oh, yeah. I would love for you to do Broadway. Chrissy, you would kill on Broadway. I would love to.
Starting point is 00:14:12 And you should manifest that here if that is one of your dreams because I have put two dolls on Broadway from that chair. And that is a fact. This is the chair. This is the Broadway chair. Yeah, like Dylan manifested with me that she wanted to be in a Broadway show. She's in six now. And Anaya, she's.
Starting point is 00:14:28 She's Rocky Horror. Yeah. And I cried when she told me. I told me and I sobbed Like I was like okay Wow Oh my god It's so fucking incredible
Starting point is 00:14:38 Well it's like watching like also knowing Dylan Like I've known her for so long to you It's just like I don't know when you will grow up as a theater kid You have the same dream I'm gonna be on Broadway I'm gonna go to New York City bitch Come on like I had a poster of New York in my room
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yeah yeah My tiny little room as a kid And like with like Ann Anaya like her making it. It just like, it was like, and you guys have been friends for so long. For so long. Like she's been there for me forever. I'm going to cry.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Like she's just, every win she gets. I'm just like, I can't, I can't comprehend how proud I am. Yeah. And it's like that one specifically because like we all just like wanted that. It's just so, it's so amazing. It's so affirming too. For everyone. And that's why I know you're already winning, but you're going to win even more.
Starting point is 00:15:30 you are pure in your happiness for others, which is, I think, an essential part of manifesting is, like, genuinely being happy when other people achieve things, too. And I have to, I do that, too, all the time with my friends when they achieve things. It's like, I talked about this actually with Britney once where sometimes, like, what you were saying about Ananaia being in Rocky Horror. It's like, there's something about watching someone move in their purpose that makes me emotional. No, I'm like going to cry as we're talking about that. Especially when we talk about internet girls, because we're all internet girls. All of us are internet girls.
Starting point is 00:16:01 And watching us get to leave the internet and like do what we really want to do like purpose for real. Oh my God, moves me to tears. Every time I think about it. No, I'm like, I'm like, I already had therapy today. I'm like, fuck. I have therapy tomorrow, so I'll be sure to clock in with that.
Starting point is 00:16:18 I already cried today on therapy. Like, it's just so beautiful. It's beautiful. It's so amazing. We have this level of understanding with each other because like we knew what it was like to like get online and blow up or something and then like, you know, keep chasing that thing and then to be like, but I have
Starting point is 00:16:32 dream. Yeah, like, and that's, and that goes along with what you were saying earlier, which is why I know it's going to happen for you exactly the way it's supposed to happen and the way you want it to happen more specifically because it really is one of those things where like you are taking a chance on you because no one's ever going to work harder for themselves than you. I mean, absolutely. So I know what's going to happen for you in exactly the way you want it to happen more specifically because it's already tried to happen, but you didn't feel good about it. and there was a reason why it didn't happen then. I so wholeheartedly agree with that.
Starting point is 00:17:03 I just feel like with myself too. It's just like I've always like had me, you know, just the way I grew up and like all of that. Like I've always had to champion myself. Right. And so I had to like when I was going through so much like this past year and in August, I had to like be like, whoa, like you don't have yourself, girl.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah. You've always had yourself. You've always been the one to like hold yourself when stuff happened and like, I'm not doing that. I'm not taking care of her. Right. And that was like the moment that I was like, oh my God. Like I have to take care of myself.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I have to love myself. I have to champion myself. I love that. Because no one else is going to. Say that bitch, honestly. No one is going to. There will be people in your life who come who love you and it's so pure. And I know it's real because I have that love for other people.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Right. But like you're the only one who can really like do it. Do it. And be there for you. Like take care of you for real. Which is so true. I talk about that all the time. That's why I'm like so convinced now.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Like this is like the birth of your new, your new journey, right? The, a better journey. Also, I just want to say your reels when you were posting you laying down and singing, tea, bitch. Yeah, you, the Broadway would be lucky to have you. Listen, I'm waiting for the call from the Broadway producer where I don't even have to go on an audition. They're just like, we need you as Roxy Heart in Chicago, the musical. And I dye my hair back to blonde and I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Roxy Heart, bitch. you would kill. Come on. You would kill. Come on. Or like Audrey from Little Shop. Yes. Oh my God. Me getting chills. No, like I'm like I feel 16 again. Okay, so we have Chicago, we have Little Shop.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Are there any other shows that you would love to be in? You know what I would love to be in again? In high school. I was Eponine and in Les Mis. Oh my God. That would be crazy. Oh, I would love to do that show again. You're crazy bitch in Les Miss? In Les Miss. You better work.
Starting point is 00:18:58 You know, I was 17 and I was like, listen to this. Like, listen to this on my own. Like, I'm going to belt that note. I'm going to change it up. Like, I was like, oh. That was my favorite song from Le Mez for a long time. I love Le Mez. Come on.
Starting point is 00:19:10 It's a great one. And being the other woman. And you would kill. Kill. You would kill, especially now with grown pipes. You have your grown pipes. Yeah. Yeah, she's, they've grown now.
Starting point is 00:19:19 They've grown now. She's done enough. When I was in high school, we did, like, there was one year where they did. Valentine's Day grams or whatever, like, you know, like singing grams. Yeah. So they would have, like, madrigals is what they were called, which was like the good, good choir. Yes. So they would go to everyone's classroom and, like, deliver singing grams.
Starting point is 00:19:40 And they had, like, a selection and you would just buy them for, like, four bucks or something. Oh, my God. My girlfriends bought me one. We all, like, got each other stuff for Valentine's Day. So my girlfriends in high school sent me one, and I was like, oh, my God, because I love Broadway. So I was like, oh, my God, I love the song. And then they were about to sing, and they sang on my own to me. which was honestly beautiful but kind of fucked up because that song's about her being alone
Starting point is 00:20:01 forever I was gonna say like that's about her dying alone she sings on then dies yes she does and why was that an option for valentine's day don't know yeah that was interesting that's interesting but is that like you're like what's your favorite musical though my favorite Broadway musical is legally blonde oh okay well that's just a great one come on it's a perfectly written oh my god the soundtrack is kick ass kick ass and I remember watching it when I was in um How old are you? 25. Okay, yeah, I'm five years older than you.
Starting point is 00:20:30 So when I was like, I want to say grade schoolish, probably like 10, 11, they had like MTV finding L Woods. And so they were like recording the Broadway like auditions for the Gly Blonde the Musical. And I remember watching it. I was like, holy fuck, who are they going to pick? And I was, I just remember being obsessed. I told Dylan, I'm like, I love Broadway. I just don't have the chops. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Yeah, I know. I love Broadway for real. It's the, it's every. That's how I feel so connected to you. Like, I know where it's like the theater. I'm a theater girl at heart. The theater inside us all. No, for real.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I'm like the girl that's like just happy to be there. I'm always ensemble, sure. But love. Who doesn't love an ensemble part? That's what Cynthia Reevo told me. She's like, the ensemble's essential. Come on, no, we need it for the whole show. Me being like, I haven't been in the show since I was like 19, I think.
Starting point is 00:21:20 But I'm like, we need the ensemble. But you're a theater girl. That's in your DNA code. Oh, it's in my, it's an, it's an, Everything I do, every song I make, like, it's not gonna have a weird, like, theater-esque element. The shows I do, like, bitch, we got dancers and, like, props and, like, reveals. You gotta be on Broadway, because you have a belt, too, in you. I'm like, we have to, like, manifest.
Starting point is 00:21:45 We're manifesting that, plus the pop star career. I was also going to say, too, what you were talking about, your journey was kind of reminding me of Rebecca Black when she was here. Yeah. She talked about the same thing. And she was saying like, but the gays have always been behind me. Yes. They have championed me forever. And I was like, right, and they have you too.
Starting point is 00:22:02 They will. They always do. Zara Larson, another one. And Zara Larson's been in the game for over a decade. And just this last couple years, she's really popped off. Yeah, I mean, that's the game. It's just like you have to stick around. And I think like when I started to revert back, I was like, oh, girl, you're not in the game right.
Starting point is 00:22:19 You're not doing it right. Like, you have to stick through it. You're going to flop and you're going to fly. And then you're going to flop again. And it's okay. It doesn't mean anything. And like, who cares what people on like Twitter are gonna say? It really doesn't mean anything at all, especially because it defeats the purpose of art
Starting point is 00:22:34 when you are only focusing on numbers and money. Like it defeats the purpose of art. The whole point is to create, right? And that's probably, I'm sure, why the recalibration that you had last summer was like a good thing for you. Absolutely. Because you got to go back to the whole point of it, which is to make stuff, like is to create something that you're proud of and that you love.
Starting point is 00:22:52 It's like what I love the money to be able to create what I want. Yes. Yeah, of course. Hello. Do I have it? No. Am I happy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Okay. Like the money, it's not the same as it was once upon a time, but hey, I'm like. And it will come. It will come and I like smile. Yeah, and at least you're fulfilled and happy. And that's more than a lot of other people can say. Yeah. And even like on your new project, like what would you say is like your favorite song?
Starting point is 00:23:22 Oh. If you can pick a favorite. I know it's like picking children. It is. I always say to my fans when they ask me that, I always say my song Apollo. I really love it. I love the music video for it. It's just so classic, like, 2010 pop, like, just the things I grew up listening to being like, oh my God, I'm like gonna die. I love this. And it's like also like a song that's like about just like, it's just about like chasing the light and like leaving the darkness and like this is that gay shit. But I love it. It's so gay But like It's always like In a beautiful way
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yeah and so it's like what I was going through And I just I have so much love for that song And then like the my I'm a ballad girl Yeah I always sneak a ballad and no one really listens To my ballads
Starting point is 00:24:12 I love a ballad And I more specifically love your ballads See yes Me too Like those are the ones for me And my song Girl on the Moon is like My other favorite from the project Beautiful
Starting point is 00:24:24 why that one? Other than loving a ballad? Other than loving a ballad, I, like, I wrote that song by myself and it's just about, like, you know, shit, so much stuff is happening and I'm stressed out and life is hard and I just want to go to the moon
Starting point is 00:24:41 and just be away from all of this. Like, that's really what it's about. Just like, what would it be to just be comforted by myself and have myself and, like, away from everything and it just like is so, I don't know, Like when I, honestly, when I get sad and I'm stressed out, I like play that song in my head. Because I'm like, I can be like the girl on the moon.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Like I can like, I can have myself. I can exist in my own way beyond this. It's like corny, but I love it. It's not corny. Or it's beautiful. It's gorge. And honestly real, especially now. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Especially fucking now. I'm sure a lot of us would rather be on the fucking move. I know. Like, can we go? Me and you. Hitcher ride. Okay, so when you do write your music, when you have, you're in the writing process, like, where do you, do you have, like, you know, moments where it hits, like inspiration hits and you're just like, I think I'm going to write now, or do you like to wait, do you like to block out time to write or do you just kind of do it when it hits inspiration? I guess I block out time because I work with, like, one guy, Dallas, who he's like my brother.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Love. He's perfect and awesome and such a good human being. and we've been writing together since I'm so hot, which was my first song I did with him. Yeah. And we just block out time together. And a lot of times I come in without inspiration. And then he starts, I'm like, I want the song to sound blue.
Starting point is 00:26:07 And he's like, okay. And he knows what that means. And he just does it. Like my song, Apollo, I was like, let's make it blue. And then he whipped that out. And then I was like, we were able to, like, come up with a concept and, like, all of that and everything. And sometimes, like, I have a. amazing writers who come in like Alex Veltri or like Jesse St. John who have been like all over all my
Starting point is 00:26:28 projects as well who come in with their great ideas too and like really relate to like what they know about me but it's it's also personal because like half the time of writing but the other like three hours we're just talking yeah we're just talking about everything in our lives I've heard that from many different artists like sometimes that's where it comes from is just kind of chatting but where you're at exactly mentally emotionally spiritually yeah you just like you need people to me it's I love collaborators in every way because it's like they're going to pull something out of you that you didn't even realize based on like a conversation you had with them like three years ago. You know? I love that.
Starting point is 00:27:01 It's so cool. And it's nice to work with the same people, I'm sure. Like they just get your vibe. Like when you find a good one. It's family. Yeah, it has to be. Because I don't know how many producers I've gone with that are just random who they just like don't like anything I do. And then I'm like, okay, why am I here?
Starting point is 00:27:18 Okay, so I feel like you hate me. They're like, can you sing like this? I'm like, no, that's my voice. Hello? Can you like make it less like that? Can you stop being you, by the way? And I'm like, can you? It's really getting in the way of my ability to produce.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Like one of us is going to get hit here. And it's not going to be me. Like, hello. Okay, let's talk about tour. Tor. How excited are you? What are you most looking forward to? What are you most nervous about?
Starting point is 00:27:44 This episode is brought to you by Two Good and Co coffee creamers. How do you take your coffee? Starting point is 00:28:17 Everything. I'm, okay, I'm like, so I'm like a day away from leaving. Yeah. And I am like beyond nervous. Like I am been a performer my whole life. Yeah. I'm never nervous. And you've done live shows many, many, many times.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Yeah. In front of huge crowd. I pop, my pussy. Like I sing those notes, divas. Yeah. I'm terrified. I don't know why. I think it's just like this is like I, everything with my music career I really have done like
Starting point is 00:28:43 solely by myself with my amazing like gay people. who helped me. Your team of gays. My team of gays. I have one too. Come on. They're real and we love them. Oh, girl.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I literally was like, I need women and gay people. Yes. Sorry. That's it. That's all I have room for. I'm sorry in house. No, we can't have any. I hire is a straight man, honestly.
Starting point is 00:29:03 That's my DEI hire. I get it. My actual manager is a straight guy, but he's a straight guy where I can go, shut up. And he goes. Like, less talky from you. No. And he goes, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:13 And he goes, Chrissy, you can always tell me to shut up. And I'm like, I know. Yeah, trust me, I know. I'm getting there. And I love him down. But like it is literally just gays and girls. Yeah, need them. And I need them.
Starting point is 00:29:24 I mean, they're the only reason I was able to do all this. Like every other random guy that was on my team like was like, oh, you're not good enough. We don't want you. And I was like, okay. And then like my gays and girls just we all put this tour together. Period. Like out of nowhere, like literally out of nowhere. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:41 And I'm just, I think I'm just like shocked. I'm just shocked. It's happening. Yeah. I don't know. It's like you dream of something for so long, like ever since you're a kid and like so much of my life has just been singing in my room and like coming home from rehearsals and like going back and like dreaming of like shows or like Broadway or like all these things. And then now it's happening. And I'm like, I'm scared. I don't know why. Like it's just it's sometimes scary to accomplish your dreams. No, hell yeah. I agree. Or it's just kind of like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm doing it for real. It feels, it feels very surreal.
Starting point is 00:30:18 But it's a beautiful thing. Walk in it confidently, girl. Because you deserve it. You've earned it. Yeah. And you're going to kill it. You're going to have so much fun. I really do think you're going to have a blast probably on tour.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I know. I know I'm going to love it so much. I mean, my whole tour crew is like gay people, like a gay boy and all lesbians. Like, it's going to be so perfect. Like, thank God. Thank God. Tor is really hard. And yours is going to be way harder than mine was because mine is just sitting and saying
Starting point is 00:30:45 pee, poo, poo. out my butt, like, in a mic for an hour. Whereas, like, yours, you're, like, performing, like, for real. But even, it was fucking hard, but it was really fun. Yeah. It was really fun because we had, like, a great team. And I think that's, like, the key to surviving and having a good time is having a lot of really good people with you.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Yeah. So you're set there. I think you're going to have a blast. Totally. And just remembering to, like, be a person. Right. I think sometimes it's, like, I turn on and I'm, like, I'm Chrissy and I'm here and I'm present. But, you know, I'm, I'm, like, I'm, I'm, like,
Starting point is 00:31:16 Such a usually quieter person honestly on my day to day that like I know I'm gonna get very drained not in a bad way but it's like finding those little moments of like resetting a little bit Yeah yeah I agree letting myself do that oh my god that's so nice this episode is brought to you by Tommy Hilfiger with a new spring collection that takes a laid-back California look at modern prep for starters they've got lightwashed denim in new relaxed silhouettes, oversized trenches, and chorecoats with heritage-inspired touches. And it's those touches that really bring sophistication to this relaxed range. Think rugby and polo shirts elevated with rich cable textures and new Tommy Cress.
Starting point is 00:32:04 And with light layers and breathable linen essentials that move from day to night, it's full of the perfect wardrobe building blocks for breezy, effortless fits. Explore more at tommy.com. Even when we were like, we were like girls and gays on my bus. And it was funny because my man was there who's obviously not gay, my dad and my brother-in-law were there. But like for some reason, like when the bus driver, who was a straight man, when he was on the bus, it just felt like, this is a girl bus. No, like, get off. There's girls here.
Starting point is 00:32:35 This is girl bus. Oh, there's a man here. No, like we're going to drive like our little Subaru, like around the country. And I'm so glad just like me and my choreographer slash like tour manager slash everything. He's perfect. He's my God. His name is Alec Cohen. Gay choreographer.
Starting point is 00:32:53 He's perfect. Period. It's just going to be like him driving, me driving. And then my gaggle of lesbians. My girlfriend's going to come with me too. Love how amazing. Thank God. And my dog.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Oh, yay. Oh my God. Sugar. Sugar. Yes. Oh my God. Of course I remember sugar. She's perfect.
Starting point is 00:33:10 How is she doing? She's everything to me. I would die without. That's how I feel about my dogs too. I really do feel it's so funny this morning. My man was like, do you think our lives would be different if we didn't have the dogs? And I was like I honestly feel like they would be a lot sadder. Like my life would be so empty without my dogs.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Like God help anyone around me the day something happens to either of those. I can't even fucking think about it. I can't think about it. I'll freak out. I'm going to make it everyone's problem if something bad happens to my dogs. The world will end. The world will... I'm gonna do something drastic.
Starting point is 00:33:45 No, I'm gonna fuck everyone up. Like, it's not gonna be okay. No one will survive. No, for real. I can't even think about it for too long. I'll freak out. No. But she's doing well.
Starting point is 00:33:56 I'm glad to hear that. She's wonderful. She's like really the only thing I need. And she loves your girlfriend. She loves my girlfriend. And it's awesome. I'm like, can you take her out? Like, can you do...
Starting point is 00:34:07 Can you feed her? Awesome. Perfect. We love that. And I'm glad she can. to come with you too. I feel like it's it does feel sometimes um like oh I could do it about myself but then it's like I don't want to I don't want to I know and it's like they always know you I feel like your partner knows you better than anyone so it's like that's really nice too for when you're decompressing from
Starting point is 00:34:29 shows oh my god it's nice to like have your person with you I know so I'm glad she's able to come with you I know I was like you have to like make me make content every day too I'm putting her to work I'm like you're not just coming with me you're working yeah everyone's on the clock. Everyone's on the clock. Yeah. When I did tour two or two we had, we brought my brother and law because he was helping us with security. And my man and my dad, and it was funny because every venue we went to, they're always like, oh yeah, they have security, but it's always like some 90-year-old guy and he has like a back brace and he's like, I can't lift heavy things. Sorry. And you're like, no, for sure. We'll bring all the stuff in ourselves. And it was funny because
Starting point is 00:35:08 my agent's husband also came for a few of the shows on some of the. the legs of the tour. And the way my family and him were like just doing all of the roadie work, just moving everything in and out. Everyone's sweating through their t-shirts because it was summer. So it was like, it really is like a self-run thing. It is. It's a self-run operation. It is. No one's doing that for you. No, you like need fucking help. So and then someone to be tour manager or whatever. So we had like, we had someone that was with us the whole time, Keisha, love her. She was the best. And she was running all AV and stuff on our shows. But we don't have all the fancy stuff that I'm sure you're going to have.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Just lights. Oh, yeah. We just had one light. Oh, yeah. And we're like, how is the hell we do now? So what's going to happen? Like literally my meeting with them today, we were like, so lighting. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Backdrop, like all these things. I'm saying it's me and a gay guy. It's me and a gay guy. And we're like both the most neurodivergent. Oh, no. Like, I don't know how either of us have a collective thought ever. Sometimes we look at each other. We go, uh, uh, and then we both like know exactly.
Starting point is 00:36:12 what we mean. It's like kind of terrifying. We get things done, but I'm also terrified because it's me and a gay guy. Well, in your, it's just me and a twink. No, it's me and a twink. And I love him. He's my brother. But like, girl, what are we going to do? The Aries makes a lot of sense in that regard. Oh my God. Yeah. Type B. Beyond. Yeah. Beyond. Beyond. Beyond. Beard. Well, that's the thing about type B people. Like, they stress me out. I'm a Virgo, so I'm a type A girl. Yes. But type B people stress me out, but honestly, everything always works out. We always get it done.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Yeah, it always gets done and it gets done to the highest of capabilities. Oh yeah, no, it's going to be amazing. Like, no, it'll be perfect. I just don't know how. I don't, I won't know how until it happens. And I'd be like, oh, that's awesome. But when it does, it will be perfect. Girl, it will be shining, like beautiful.
Starting point is 00:37:02 But no, there are a couple of things. I'm like, I don't know how that will happen. We'll figure it out. It's okay. And it will, and it always will. And it always will. I think for good people and gay people and people who are good and gay, especially. Good and gay.
Starting point is 00:37:14 And good and gay, we don't always get that. Let's be real. But I love when it happens. When it lines up, it's perfect. Oh, my God. It's like otherworldly. Perfect. Okay, so what can people be excited about for tour?
Starting point is 00:37:28 What can they look forward to? I mean, drag queens, divas, live vocals. I'll always say that. And you do sing live. That is true. And I do sing live. Period. I will never, ever lead you the wrong way with that.
Starting point is 00:37:44 Okay? I don't care of my voice cracks. Baby, it's live. All right. We have, like, all these props. We have, like, a puppet. That's of me. Like, a little puppet.
Starting point is 00:37:55 I don't know why either. We just have it. We also, like, a new song is going to be coming out soon, and a music video. Period. All while I'm on tour. Very exciting. I don't know why I did all that at once.
Starting point is 00:38:07 But I love to be, like, Let's do everything. You're just maximizing it. That's good. I love maximizing my anxiety. Solely your anxiety. It's awesome. I'm so excited for you.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Where are you going? So everyone knows. Just generally cities, if you want to name a few. Okay. Brooklyn, we're starting with you, Divas. Love. We got, oh, Jesus. The East Coast.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Chicago. Yes, we're ending in Chicago. Love your hometown. How exciting. Yes. We just announced the L.A. Tickets also. Oh, fun.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Waiting for that one. So that's. Easter Sunday. If you want to enjoy your Easter Sunday with Chrissy for some very biblical, um, loving lesbianism. There you go. Come see me live at the Roxy.
Starting point is 00:38:51 There you go. The Roxy, how fun. I know. Love that. It's awesome. Amazing. I'm so excited. The Lord has risen again.
Starting point is 00:38:58 It's Chrissy Shlpeka. Me and the Lord. We go way back. We go way back. Well, the Christians are mad at me again. Why? Because of passion for it. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:39:08 because of the Catholicism? Oh, totally. Because of that stuff. Well, there's a lot of other stuff going on in Catholicism that they should probably pay more attention to. Yeah, you know what they really don't like in the video? There's a scene where there's like legs going in between me. I'm like a rigged thing and I did a BTS video of it.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And they're like, no. Blasphemy. But you're not in the church. Well, I wasn't a church. Not that part. Not of that part. Now that part. I was in a church and I looked gorgeous in the church.
Starting point is 00:39:35 And you know what happened though? You did actually. I was, thank you so much. Yes. First of all, thank you. Second of all, I was in that church and I was like, I know if, like, Jesus is here and God and whoever the hell else was, like, part of that thing that happened then, they would be riding with us gay people.
Starting point is 00:39:52 I think so. They would love us. Jesus, are you kidding me? Yeah, he would love the gay. He was the one that would love us. He loved lepers. There's no way he wouldn't love a gay. Please.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Please. If he loved lepers, come on now. I'm saying. There's no way. Didn't he, like, he like, threw a table over. He was like, stop it. Because he was like, everyone. accept each other. He did that. He loved whores. I wasn't Jesus Christ Superstar when I was 12. I know what happened. Hello. He loved there. He loved horse. He loved it all. Okay. He loved everyone. So like why me a whore?
Starting point is 00:40:20 Said whore mind you. Said whore mind you. Lesbian whore. Fem princess. Why could I not be in the room with J.C.? Right with J.C. and the big boys. And the big boy God. And I'm singing my heart out about eating out a girl. Like, oh my God, kill me. Jesus Christ. It's fine. It's literally fine. Like I said, Catholicism has a lot of other issues, as does Christianity. They got a lot more going on that they should be paying attention to other than lesbian whores in the church. Please.
Starting point is 00:40:55 They need more lesbian whores in the church. Don't they want lesbian hores in the church? They need more of them. I'll tell you that much. I'm saying, but don't they want us there to like? Then maybe I'll start showing up. Hang on. Hang on.
Starting point is 00:41:04 I could create a nightlife event. at the church. Exactly. I could easily do that. I could make time on Sunday. I can make them money. Okay. Hang on.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Isn't the church all about money? Right. We could hand out a basket and be like, please donate to the Jesus Christ slash Christi Shepeka fund. There you go. And then I'll use it for tour as the priests use it for their Lexus. Right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Like I think it's all good. They buy private planes all the time. I'm sure they'd sponsor a lesbian tour. What? Like I have to drive a Subaru around the bus. fucking United States and you're in you're fucking on your private jet for real god life isn't fair it's okay working twice sorry to get half as far I know all about oh it's so good I love my life loving it okay I do have some fun facts about you oh shit yeah we we changed the format since
Starting point is 00:41:58 the last time you've been here about me yes they're fun facts we have our own in-house Nardwar whoa so I'm gonna tell you some fun facts Okay, I'm like nervous. Okay, well, this says you used to be a Starbucks barista, which I did know, before you made enough money doing content creation to quit. That's so real. How exciting. Did you like being a Starbucks brista? It was fierce because I was so poor.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I was living in the city in Chicago, and I... This episode is brought to you by Ring. Starting point is 00:42:58 They could never afford groceries or anything. And so there's a camera, you know, all over the Starbucks. But there wasn't one where there was. like all the milk was, like the oat milks and all the like food. So I would come with like a, I stole a lot is what I'm saying. I would come with like a backpack that was completely like thin. Like nothing in it and I would leave with it just like so much. Turtleshell on your back. I'd be like, bye guys. Like I'll see you tomorrow. And like no one did anything. They can spare it. It's all right. It's Starbucks. Yeah, they can spare it. And Starbucks 2019, they could spare it.
Starting point is 00:43:30 They could. They could. Absolutely. Like I was dealing with like people in the bathroom with the Starbucks. like throwing up everywhere and overdosing and it was terrible and I was like four years old okay like I was allowed to steal that oatmeal it's okay it's all right they're gonna live they're gonna live believe it or not they're gonna pull through clearly that business is gonna thrive they're right across the street right there you go they're gonna be okay did you have any crazy stories working as a barista um or weird ones honestly it was just no I mean a lot of people would come and steal a bunch of shit and I would just let them. Well, yeah. Why wouldn't I?
Starting point is 00:44:09 I'm not dying for Starbucks. No, why would I do that? Like, I was like, okay, take that sandwich, girl. Like, I don't care. Yeah, girl, it's all right. I don't have stock in this Starbucks at all. Absolutely not. I just work here.
Starting point is 00:44:21 I just work here. I'm four years old and I work here. Okay? Like, I'm just trying to like get, like, pay my rent. Maybe. Maybe. But we'll see. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:44:33 And it didn't happen sometimes. okay like it's gonna be fine but no the crazy I think the craziest part of that was like I was starting to blow up on TikTok while working there yeah and I worked there for a long time I was there for like four years oh yeah and like I was like 2021 maybe okay and that was when I was like whoa people come and be like are you and I was like do I quit hang on like is this the time I leave right probably when they start identifying you at your job yeah but it was the time when I didn't know you can make money off social media. Oh yeah. So I was just working at Starbucks for like a year into my career. Oh wow. Okay, period. I don't know. I know. I really wasn't making anything at all because you know like the CPM on TikTok was dog shit for ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Oh yeah. And so like I really wasn't
Starting point is 00:45:20 making shit for the longest time like before I really was like, oh wow, wow. You could like live off this. Oh yeah. I like really genuinely did not think that was like a thing. When I first signed with my first management I made them like like swear to God I would be able to pay my rent I was like this this is made up yeah I'm going to make money off of social media you're a liar you're a man and your liar yeah you're like I'm literally toiling away at that coffee shop every day I'm not making enough I am making those frappuccino for you 12 year olds and some of you like 50 year olds fierce by the way and I'm like I'm not even making enough right like what do you mean me being like like hit him with your car is gonna make me money like hello dream job love that okay next one says
Starting point is 00:46:09 in high school you were a team captain of a recreational kickball team oh my god so so kind of that so in high school um well how do how does this go like I was bored and me and my friends were like what if we just made a kickball team? Okay. And so we made a kickball team. And I was the team captain of said kickball team. It was just a bunch of gays and those who didn't know if they were gay or not because it was high school, including I, you know.
Starting point is 00:46:41 So it was a bunch of gays. Yeah, buy now, gay later. By now, gay later. Hello. Hello, by now, gay later. Right. I really was like bisexuality and then I went, never mind. Actually, I'm a liar.
Starting point is 00:46:54 Girl, I was lying. It was furious. It was so fierce. But yeah, like me and my friend, we were just like, we're going to be the team captains. And then I never won a singular game. No, you didn't win at all? No, because I would only pick the fiercest divas and the fiercest divas aren't winning kickball. That's true.
Starting point is 00:47:14 It's tea. That's true. They're in the theater. They're clocked in somewhere else. And we were all in theater. By the way. No, one had. Did you guys play other schools or did you just play?
Starting point is 00:47:23 No, each other. Oh, you just each other. It wasn't like this huge thing. It was just like this group of gay people. half guy figuring it out whatever they them all of that and like figuring out like every now and then I like pick a new diva on my team that was on the other divas team. You guys just mixed up every time and then went into different teams every time. And it was fierce. Like why did I have the time in my life?
Starting point is 00:47:49 Why did I have like so much fun? No take me back. Take me back to the elementary field that we were playing in the elementary school field. That's honestly really sweet. I think more people should do stuff like that. I know. Just for the sake of it. I know. And my parents still thought I was a bad kid. I wasn't drinking or doing drugs.
Starting point is 00:48:06 I was playing kickball and they were like, you're terrible. With my other gay friends. With my gays. Like, hello. My man joined a softball, like, rec league. Well, when I first started dating him, he was, like, actively in an adult softball league. Oh, my God. Because we were, like, in our early 20s.
Starting point is 00:48:23 And I was like, you, like, play for real. And he was like, oh, yeah, like, I, it's me and, like, my friends. and they play other teams, like, locally. Okay. So they joined, like, a local softball thing, which I think is, like, fun. I was like, oh, that's cool. And he's like, would you want to come watch me? And I was like, I mean, I guess.
Starting point is 00:48:40 But I was kind of like, I hate watching baseball. But, like, yeah, I guess. Right. And I did go a few times with him because he was on one, like, much later when we were, when I was kind of starting to do this for a living. Mm-hmm. And I remember every game we went to, it was like the other team was just a gang of dads that like hate their wives.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Oh, of course. And they can't wait to drink on a weeknight. Like they're like, fuck it. And then they're all, they all go and they like take it so seriously. Wow. Nobody's in shape. Nobody's athletic. And they're all just hitting like bombs into the outfield.
Starting point is 00:49:14 And I remember watching, I'm like, this is the most pointless. Like this feels like the most like, like, honey, you know I have softball that night. No, literally. But like such the biggest excuse for all of them to leave home. Right. And just get to go and like fuck around. And like. hate my fucking wife, bro.
Starting point is 00:49:30 I'm like, oh, you hate your wife, me too. Like, we were pondering our sexuality. You hate your wives. Right. You guys were playing sports in a god-fearing way. You could be pondering your sexuality too. They probably should. I know, they should do that a little bit more, probably, huh?
Starting point is 00:49:45 Well, yeah, maybe a little bit more of the world's problems would be figured out if they just realize they're gay. Yeah, that's like I saw, I think it was a drag queen. And she was on Trixie and Katia's podcast. And she was saying a lot of the world's problems would be so. solved if men just put a finger up their butt. Yes. A little bit sooner.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Period. Like if you guys just put fingers up your butt, a lot of your problems would be solved because then you would realize you're not so angry. Some of you would realize you're gay. It's like a real like win-win. Everybody wins. And I believe in that. I fully believe in that.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Like that's my Bible. Okay. Those are my affirmations. Literally. I say those in the mirror every morning. Every morning. It's like written on a sticky note. Yeah, two fingers off the butt.
Starting point is 00:50:23 Period. Okay. This one says that you played Alice in Alice in Waterland in high school. I did. Oh my God, that makes so much sense. It was fierce. I love that. Was it just regular stage play?
Starting point is 00:50:35 It was just the stage play. And I will brag. Let me brag. I was the sophomore who got the lead. Okay. And you know I pissed those seniors off. And they were mean to me. Damn.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Yeah. You cleared them, bitch. It's hard. It's hard being talented. It's so lonely at the top. Oh, my God. That is so too, though. Did you have fun?
Starting point is 00:50:58 Oh, of course. Like, did you have a lot of leading roles? Yes. Yes, of course. Well, yes. Of course, that's all I did. I'm telling you, I went, I come home from school, I come home from rehearsal, I go to my bedroom, my parents are fighting, I go, I'm not listening to that. I create a scene in my room.
Starting point is 00:51:15 I have a mic. I have a mic from like, oh, my God, just one of those old board games. I, like, found a fake mic in. And I would, like, use it and, like, pretend I was on Broadway and, like, all those things. I was practicing forever because I was alone. My whole childhood. But it was furious. I just love when you're like, yes.
Starting point is 00:51:35 No, yeah. Like, undeniably, I was deleted in high school. I'm so glad you're so me, honestly. I remember all my wins. Come on. Why would I not? Biggest thing I've ever done. Like, come on.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Did you have any, like, idols in terms of like pop stars or Broadway stars or anything like that? People like you loved watching growing up, you still love now. Ooh, okay, I loved Bernadette Peters growing up. Oh, T. She's like my Broadway icon. Oh, wow. In love with her.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Lady Gaga is Avey a big inspo for me. Yeah. I was, I think my first girl crush ever, though, was Ariana Grande. Oh, gee. I was, like, obsessed with her. Yeah. Like, I, like, could have been one of those girls that, like, did this, you know? And, like...
Starting point is 00:52:23 Big sleeves. Yeah. Oh, so tiny. I'm so tiny. Yeah, like that. Like I so was I so could have been that girl But then I realized I just had a crush on her Right and that's where it all started
Starting point is 00:52:34 Yeah, the lesbian origin stories Exactly It all begins somewhere And also another pop star turned Broadway diva Love that, look at you Even Lady Gaga too, same thing Your tone of voice, your singing voice Sounds a lot like Lady Gaga to me
Starting point is 00:52:49 I like growing up she was like I learned to sing by listening to other people And like mimicking their tone And like definitely she was part of that. I love that. Definitely that. And she's got a set of pipes on her bitch. I mean, that's mother.
Starting point is 00:53:04 Just like you. Okay. Another one says, does wedgy crew game night mean anything to you? If not, please show this photo from high school that she was tagged in. I have no idea what you're saying. Does any of that mean anything to you? That is like the most terrifying. I just got like a hot.
Starting point is 00:53:29 flag so that was I have no idea what the fuck that means completely honest all I know is that is a photo of the cast from the one acts we did a freshman year I was the lead of this I was the lead um by the way and it was like um a one act that was written about like twilight and I played Bella from twilight too and that's what that's from extent of my memory it must have been like a cast party And because you know cast parties were weird. You know cast. And I like one time was, I was the upper classmen. I like brought weed once.
Starting point is 00:54:08 It's like all those memes of theater kids having parties. No. And you know that like what is that video of like the theater kids like singing in like a Denny's or something? I see that and I'm like, oh, tears to my eyes. Like I remember the days. The glory days. The glory days. Like that was whatever was happening.
Starting point is 00:54:28 at like our steak and shake. Like I don't. Doing this weird shit. God. It's this Wedgy Crew Game Night here. You. I truly wish I know like what that meant. And like clearly like I don't, I don't clear.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Clearly I don't talk. No, that's what I meant. I just don't have anyone to ask that about. To ask to confirm what the hell that is. Let me, I send this to like someone I haven't talked to in 10 years. So what was this? Do you, can you tell me what? Remind me what Wedgie Crew Game Night was?
Starting point is 00:54:55 I feel like they would block me. They'd be like, you've been. weird since you rose to fame you've completely fucking changed. They're like I don't know if you know this but someone's hacking you and they're sending weird messages to people from high school. Oh my god. That is my biggest fear sending a message to someone from high school. Unable. That's never happening. Sorry. Oh my god no. One time I got a DM like early on like when I had first I think I'd been doing this for like half a year at that point and I started filming this full time and everything and I got a DM from a kid from my high school who I never talked to.
Starting point is 00:55:32 I think I had one class with him junior year. Oh my God. That's it. That's the worst. And he DM'd me and was like, hey, Drew, hope you're doing well. Anyways, um, so my girlfriend has this jewelry business, which she makes her own jewelry. I was just curious if you could post it and tag her and just like give her a shout out because she really wants new customers.
Starting point is 00:55:51 Thanks. I was like, do you think my inbox? I'm not even kidding. I blocked him like immediately. And I was like, do you think my inbox? is like inquiries like hey does anyone need anything let me know like is that did you see me say that somewhere hey everyone from high school that was rude to me what can I do for you do you need anything from me what do you need do you need to see my boobs like what is it like hit me up hit me
Starting point is 00:56:13 hit me up please oh my god recently not recently I guess like a year ago I was back in chicago and I was seeing a show that my friend had choreographed and afterwards this girl comes up to me and she's like oh my god hi like you know someone like I know someone you went to high school with and I was like who and she says the name of my literal bully from high school. No fucking way. And I go, who's that? And she goes, oh, it's this person. Like, you guys used to be, you were friends and did that.
Starting point is 00:56:38 And I go, I don't know who you were talking about. Best thing I've ever done. Best thing I've ever done. That's so too. Yeah, I don't know. I've never heard that name in my life. I'm so sorry to that man. I'm so sorry to that.
Starting point is 00:56:51 So sorry to that man. Like, I'm so fucking sorry to that. Never heard of that person in my fucking life, actually. Like, who threw a frisbee at my best. friends had to bully her at the time. That's insane. High school was weird. It was like such a, what a weird, strange thing to do as a bully.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Sometimes when you get the lead and they get your understudy. You get a target put on your back. Oh, honey. Oh, honey. Your understudy is not your friend in high school. That's insane. I knew it was cut throat in there, but I didn't know it was quite like that. Oh, listen.
Starting point is 00:57:24 In the theater department. Okay. I didn't know they were moving that way. Because that was the only way we were cool. Everyone else is like, that nerd. That is insane, though, that your high school bully would tell someone like, oh, we were such good friends. I gagged. I was like, and who's that?
Starting point is 00:57:41 Hello. Hello. You made all my friends hate me. Right. Hello. And also, like, good luck explaining that when that girl goes back to them and tells them. She said she's never met you in her life. No, and she totally could, like, pull up a photo of us.
Starting point is 00:57:54 I'm going to be like, don't know that. Sorry. I don't know that person ever. Must be a fan. Yeah. I must be a fan. Like, peace and love. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:04 There was a lot of people I didn't have time to hang out with in high school. No, because I was busy with like the wedgy night. Yeah. With wedgy game night. And like kickball clearly and playing up and mean live. Yeah. All my leads. All my leads.
Starting point is 00:58:16 And the high school theater. Like. Oh, God. That is really good. I love that though. Nice full circle moment. It was beautiful. It was a beautiful thing.
Starting point is 00:58:26 It was so beautiful. I was like, uh, life can be. Life can be good. I've said before there were people, like, that were really awful to me in high school, like, whether they used to be friends with me or not. Like, like, in high school, we, like, had a falling out.
Starting point is 00:58:41 It's like girl, girlfriend, shit. It's very normal. It happens. But I literally think to myself, I'm like, I better never find out that you're telling people you know me. Well, that's what was happening. Yeah, I better never. Don't ever let me find out that you're saying we were friends. Oh, and are you saying you were in my understudy, too?
Starting point is 00:58:58 Hello? Hello. Did she tell you that little detail? Oh yeah. Huh? Who's successful now? She forgot to share that little tidbit? I'm so sad.
Starting point is 00:59:07 Like, no. Like, I will be petty for a 16-year-old me forever. Hell yeah. Hello. I never forget. I never forget. I will never forget. I will never once forget, Dela.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Okay, last fun fact. Do you remember what animals you had as a Webkins user as happy 1-1-1-4? Okay, so yes. Of course I do. I had over 50 webkins. Damn. I had a hyper fixation. So, like, for years, I would only ask for that for birthdays and Christmas.
Starting point is 00:59:34 And, like, any way I could get a Webkins, like, I would save up. Like, if I got, like, $20 for something, I found out on the ground because we were so poor, like, oh, my God, I can get a Webkins. So I had a koala named Snuggles. I had, that was my first one. No, I know. Listen, I know my freaking webcam. I had a little.
Starting point is 00:59:57 like curly white dog and I named her furgy. It was fierce. It was so fierce. You've been a diva since day one. Oh yeah. Yeah. Bear named Billy clearly. Obviously the bear's name was Billy.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Obviously. I had like the Valentine's Day edition of their frog and I named her rose. Like I remember and my dad when he like had moved out of our childhood house, he was like, what do you want me to do with these? And I was like, you have to keep them all. Like I still am like, I can't let go on my webkins. You have to. Those were my friends.
Starting point is 01:00:29 Yeah, you need them. There's a fair amount of, like, attachment to them at that point. I mean, I slept with them all on my little twin bed. Yeah. My little twin bed, and I had so many, and I didn't, not just webkins, but just, like, other plushies. Like, I loved them, and I would sleep like this. So, like, none of them would fall off the bed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:47 And if one fell off the bed, I would cry. There's some, I was a lonely kid. Oh. I was a lonely kid. Well, also an animal lover. An animal lover. Which is why, and I know you've loved animals, which I am so glad you have sugar then. Since you had such an attachment to your plushies.
Starting point is 01:01:04 Yeah. I'm so glad you have sugar then. And she's a real life plushies. Yeah, she's your real life plushies. For real. She's real. Yeah. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Oh my God. Well, thank you so much for coming to the show today. Thank you for having me. I love you. I've missed you. I miss you too. I feel like I see you all the time, but I don't. I think it's just because we see each other online all the time.
Starting point is 01:01:21 I know, I see your beautiful face and I'm like, period. Same. Yeah, me liking everything that you do. No, literally. I'm like, you're a similar person where it's like, every time I see you win, I'm like, am I going to cry? Like, it's just amazing. I don't know. It's like when you just like watch, we all have just a similar experience that we all kind of only understand.
Starting point is 01:01:41 It feels so unique. It's so unique. And so I do. I'm always like, oh, like it's just so sweet. Same. And I want to tell you, I really do think you are someone special. And I think that you have a lot to offer the world of music. And I want to tell you, you are brave and courageous and pleasing.
Starting point is 01:01:57 don't give up. You are so fucking awesome. And you're meant to do amazing, great things. Thank you. And you were meant to be here in this chair because we had to manifest. And I didn't even know it was right before tour, and that feels like fate. Something beautiful just happened. Yeah, and I know you're very witchy woo-woo like me. Oh, yes. So very, well, obviously you being a lesbian, obviously. Obviously. That's in the guidebook. In the DNA, I guess.
Starting point is 01:02:19 Yeah, the crystals, the witchy-woo shit, all of it. All of it. I love it. So, and I love you. And I think you're incredible. And I'm so happy that you're embarking on this new pop star journey and like the way you want to do it. I think that's wonderful. And I think it was meant to happen that way and I know it's going to happen for you. And then I'm going to do what I do every time, which I'm like, I'm going to say, I fucking knew it. I knew it. I smelled it and I sensed it. And that's why you were in the chair. The day you say that is the day I'll know I made it. I'm going to be waiting. Just send me a voice message. I will. I fucking knew it. I've done it. I've done it. Well, now you've been in the chair.
