Starting point is 00:00:00 AI seems to just be like the rest of us in the sense of like... It wants to make movies and arts. Fuck you! It's like literally I'm actually a poet. Fuck you. Well, especially when it holds... Their poetry sucks. The only way to kill AI, Luna has to keep making music.
Starting point is 00:00:16 And welcome back to another episode of the comment section show. Sorry me, your babe, everybody knows me. Who cares about me? On to the guest today. We have the returning all stars, the iconic, the legendary, the extremely gay and straight fan. famous, Muna! Oh my God, wow, straight famous announcement. That's, I mean, that's, we're coming out.
Starting point is 00:00:43 That's so exciting. Happy pride, everyone. Happy pride. Thank you guys for coming back. Thanks for having us. I have never in my life been harassed by gay people like I was when I met y'all. So I just need you to know that. Never in my life have I been harassed by us.
Starting point is 00:00:58 In a good way? In a beautiful way. And it's still scary, but still beautiful. Let's keep it beautiful everyone on. beautiful everyone on there? They just do not fucking play about you guys. Damn, wow. We love you. Which I appreciate it. I think it's wonderful. We saw, thank you for holding us down. Our tour, our production manager, Ivan Barry, sent us like a, a, a page from a book that his girlfriend is reading right now.
Starting point is 00:01:22 This was iconic. That was like, um, a detective detective. A butcher detective that's interviewing like a woman who is like trying to like signify that she's gay. Right. And so she like starts playing Moon on the phone and then like acts like it's like, she's like, I love this song. Yeah, yeah. That is y'all. That's your legacy.
Starting point is 00:01:47 That's cute that we've made it into these like airport romance novels. Really funny. These smutty ass books. It does seem very smutty. It was pretty sweet. Yeah. I think I need to, I think I need to expand. I love smut too.
Starting point is 00:02:00 I love detective smut. Why not? You're not reading smut. You're just reading like the most, kind of bad crime novels. I'm just reading like the most scary thing that you could be reading. I have to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:02:10 I started reading one of the books, or I started listening to one of the books by the author that you read. Yeah, it's, I'm gonna name her name. You name or name. Expose her. Yeah, right. Best-selling crime author.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Her name is Karen Slaughter. I'm sure it's not her real name. Slaughter is, I just, that would be crazy if it was her real. That would be crazy. I don't find it to actually be that good. She's born into it or your half. The writing is not the best. Insanely bad. But you know, that's sometimes I like that. I like that. You're like that.
Starting point is 00:02:41 You're like, let's move the plot so I can fuck. I like that. So I can fuck again in a different way. I like the, because it's an audio book. I like the person reading the book. There's something like that it's doing to me subconsciously where I'm just like, safe. Okay, like the bad, the fact that the writing is bad. No, sometimes. I don't feel that.
Starting point is 00:03:04 No, but it's just how I am. I mean, there's something about the bad writing that feels safe. Oh, yeah. What the hell is that? What the hell? What the hell? They do not like bad writing. No, honestly, though, I do, I can understand that it doesn't hit,
Starting point is 00:03:18 bad writing doesn't hit me like that, but I do like bad art sometimes. Yeah, totally. Need to. All art is valid. Good or bad. You need bad art, actually. Yes, exactly. It's like, I'm interested in, in all four.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Sometimes bad art in a way is better than good art in the way that makes me feel. Right, especially when I watch, like, if I watch like a cringy-ass show that's like not good. Sometimes they'll be like, why would you watch that? I'm like, well, I know it's not going to win an Emmy. Right. Well, no, I'm enjoying myself. I think they're like, I think in this day and age of like actual like shit media, right? You have to have different levels of media that you consume because you're just trying to avoid the base level media in which we are fed.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Right. I agree. That's what those novels are for me. Like if I, that's like me being kind of like, if I don't want to be on TikTok, I'll go on a walk and listen to that. The book version of the brain rot, but on the page. It's brain rot, but it doesn't do the same thing where my brain feels is like, I agree.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Negatively used. That's very true. And you can discern. You're actively listening and going, this isn't great, but I am enjoying myself. Yeah. I have quite a few things I enjoy like that. Do you guys have any TV shows or anything you've been watching? You're like this.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I mean, I love this, but it's, I know most people might not. I, you know, the bad thing that I've been enjoying is, like, bad paintings. Like, people's, people showing off their bad, people showing off their bad paintings on the internet. Right. I love that. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. Do you guys get bad fan art? Oh, I get a ton.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Well, you know what? That's more painful. We get some really good. But it's bad. Yeah, no, no. Here you think you don't want to see. Also, like, do people give you paintings of yourself? Sometimes, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Yeah, and it's like, this is so nice. But, like, like, this is so nice. but like, what am I gonna do? With a picture myself? Yeah, it's like, you want me to put up a picture of myself? I literally got sent one at the very beginning of me doing this. I got someone who's beautiful. It does look just like me.
Starting point is 00:05:11 It's not bad. And my mom was like, you're gonna hang this? I go, where? Yeah, exactly. In my own home? Yeah. Like my bag. I see a giant picture of myself.
Starting point is 00:05:20 It creates a sort of dynamic. Maybe you should make like a closet. Yeah. Do you put a closet and then you go in there when you need to like, Hey Arnold. About yourself. That, like Hey Arnold. Oh, that would be cool.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Where she opens her closet and it's all him. But it's all my bad fan art. I love that. It's just, but it's all me. I just pray at my own altar. I like that. I kind of like that. I'm convincing myself as I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:05:40 It's like avant-garde, I feel like too. You have to like have it be really like 3D and like include all the weird art. Yeah, we've gotten some weird stuff. Somebody once made like, um, uh, one of the first like murals of us that we got was us as, as Harry Potter. I don't remember. I don't remember. I think I still have it. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:05:58 choice for y'all we have maybe we've been around a long time this was before she was this was before she was yeah when it was just like good but yeah yeah it was just a pure yeah it was honestly cool though I know I bet y'all have a ton of fan fiction read about you we had some I would love to read it we have no idea the first fan fiction that was ever written about us was oh the Harry styles was that well they were writing they were writing what the hell they were writing they were writing Harry Styles fan fiction we opened for him on his first I forgot about this. To anyone who was there, we love you.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Yes, I do remember that, yeah. But, I like what you did. Comment if you were there. We, they were writing us into kind of sort of background fodder. Oh, I see. For the story being like, and Muna was also there backstage. You guys were like a B-side character.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yeah, we're a B-side character. I love that. I can't believe we did that. That's so funny. But I haven't really gone into the fan fiction world. No, I don't know the internet like that. I bet there's a ton about y'all. I'm like, where do you find that? Reddit?
Starting point is 00:07:00 WLW fanfic, I bet. Whoa, WLW. Well, you know what? I bet it's on A-O-3. Like, that's probably, that's where all that is. Wait, you're speaking like someone who knows. Right. Let me put you all on A-O-3.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Are you, like, on the internet, you're on forums and stuff like that? Not like, not forums. What an old word. Yeah, wait, wait, wait. The forums, the message boards? I love, I love a forum in my day. Yeah, A-O-3, I'm just a fan-fit girl, like I was back in the What kind?
Starting point is 00:07:29 What'd you like? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, where were you looking at if you don't mind? I know your mom is in the room. Was your like early? My mom's heard worse things I've said in this room. I'll tell you that. But like your early like sex experiences, was it like literatica? No, yeah, honestly, yes.
Starting point is 00:07:44 It was like, it was fan fiction. It was also like on Tumblr. Tumblr was a big, lots of slutty shit on Tumblr. Yeah, NSFW. Was there? Yeah, and SFW. Okay, cool. NsFW.
Starting point is 00:07:55 And SFW forums. Yes. Were you in the chat room? No, not really. It was almost like I was doing it like secretly, but not intentionally. I'm happy for that. I just wasn't looking for community.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I was like, if I'm going to flick my bean, I'm going to do it privately. I don't need to sound off about it. Did you have fictional characters that you, like, were interested in that way about? Well, I was a big Jonas brother girl back in the day when I was young. Yeah, me and my lesbian sister. Which one?
Starting point is 00:08:24 Bull were writing fanfic about them. It's kind of lesbian. They're lesbian-adjacent. They are. There is a pipeline for sure. There are like, like, fellas that, like, if you had a crush on them, you might be suss. Right. It's funny now.
Starting point is 00:08:37 There are because, like, I have seen. They might be in that category. There's something there. I've seen comments of girls who, like, used to be. Well, obviously, you're fucking fiance. Like, she used to be a Joe Jonas. Yeah. So is my sister.
Starting point is 00:08:50 See? There's a pipeline there. I always think lesbians like Joe. I think it's Joe. Yeah. I think so, too. Everyone did this straight girls like Nick? Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:57 They were like, he has diabetes. And I'm loving that. And the green awareness is a little full about it. I remember this. People were writing. They were like, guys, he just. Yeah, and now that's my man. Yeah, the diabetes really pushed it over for me. Well, I wrote fanfic.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I wrote about the Jonas Brothers, but there was no smut in it at all because I wrote it when I was like 11 or 12. You just want to be friends? No, I wrote it. I'm not even kidding. I wrote it as I wasn't even in it. You would think I would write myself in this story. I don't think people are.
Starting point is 00:09:28 People are doing that. I think people, right. They're just imagining what it'd be like for them. Yeah, me, I'm just writing like a creepy third party. I was like, okay, well, now I'm gonna write about them kissing each other. Omniscient narrator? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in the cuck chair.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I put myself in the couch chair watching them. Interesting. Them kissing each other, we don't have to get too into, but them as in the brothers? No, no, no. That would be crazy. That's a real character. That was a girl.
Starting point is 00:09:52 I was saying, no, true, that's a little bit crazy. I would be in a very different message board if I was doing that. No, it was, um, it was, it was, it was a girl who would meet them. Yeah, but honestly, I wrote it about Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez was my main villain in it at the time because they had beef. All of them had been. And the diabetes was a huge moving piece of my story. It didn't need to be. But it was ongoing. Yeah. It was, oh, I wrote like 30 chapters. That's really creative. It's actually, it's actually unbelievable. I think it's really creative. Do you still have this? You got to keep this alive. I'm trying. I'm looking for them. They're in my, my mom and dad's house somewhere. I've been looking for them. I've been looking for them. I've been looking for them. them for years. I, because a lot of people are like, you don't want to beat it to us because you're embarrassed. I'm like, I don't give a fuck. I would love to. It would be great for me. Wait, have you had them on the podcast? No, I've met them. You should have them on because they just, I've been trying. We can let them know. You guys are almost like, they're like your Wario. It's like that's
Starting point is 00:10:46 Perri-a-Mor us. It's like there's a whole. You're the Jonas Fathers Mario. There's a Spider-Man. You're my Mario. Yeah. You're the, they're the wario. In this situation, in this situation, They are. But I was a Nick girl. It's Pride Month after all. Yeah, exactly. And I was a Nick girl. That's cute.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Yeah, but that's, I guess, me being straight. But also, he was the only one that ended up with a brown girl. I think I just knew. I think my third eye was like, this one's fucking with people of color. Yeah. That's right. Now I read, I've read, like, fan fiction about fake characters, too. Do you guys, are you familiar with Avatar the Last Airbender?
Starting point is 00:11:19 Oh, yeah. We're like light. I've been meaning to get around to that. You should watch that. That's one of my favorite shows of all time. It's good. It holds up over time. I watched it again recently, like front to back.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Okay, you're convincing me. So good. Maybe we'll watch it on tour. Yeah, you gotta watch it on tour. It's so good. Is it like a long, it's like a lot of seasons? I think it's like three or four seasons. Okay, so it's not terrible.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Yeah, and it's all cartoon, but it's impactful. I love cartoons. I mean, I mainly, my favorite kinds of movies are kids movies. What are your favorite movies? Okay, well, first of all, I have to, I have to give a shout out to Hoppers because I just- Oh my gosh, I haven't watched Hoppers yet, but I heard it was really good.
Starting point is 00:11:53 I watched it like three times. You mean the shout-out. We were, we were, got a shout out. It's huge franchise. It's a huge new franchise hoppers. It's amazing. It's giving like Fern Gully, but updated.
Starting point is 00:12:06 I love Furn Gully. Yeah, it's like my partner also was reminding me that, remember in Fern Gulley, there's like the musical sequence because it's like his like tape player gets like somehow sent with him. Yeah. When he gets shrunken, he has like a massive tape player with him. So like they're like, they have a dance party. All the fairies have a dance party in the forest.
Starting point is 00:12:24 They have a similar thing. It's very moon of concert. Hoppers. But it's like the kids... That's what it feels like. I feel like kids... I'm taking this question as your favorite kids movies because otherwise I get too overwhelmed.
Starting point is 00:12:37 But it's like... I like kids movies that have like these kinds of like radical like storylines about either like alternative family structure or like revolution. Yeah, totally. Yeah, absolutely. Bugs Life. Bugs Life is a great one, yeah. Monsters Inc.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Yeah, I love Monsters Inc. Bugs Life. Bug's Life made me a communist. Totally. T-shirt. New Moon a merch. Yeah. T-H.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Fuck, someone's gonna make it. You can have that. You can have that one. The band of like, I mean, like, yeah, the, like, circus freaks. Like, the circus freak bugs. Hell yeah. Traveling troops. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:11 The, like, cross-dressing ladybug. Also, they were, they were being, their labor was being exploited. Yeah, totally. For a. That's true, by the grasshoppers. By the grasshopper class. So go ahead and go back and rewatch that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:25 A lot of these ones. It hits. This kind of reminds me. This is a strange segue, but it does remind me of it. We were all at Lucy Dacus's party. Oh, yeah. We were all there. We also, I spoke with you.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I didn't get to chat with y'all. I definitely didn't go. You weren't. I was going to go. I wouldn't be surprised if. I know, I know I didn't that night. I know I didn't because Amber came with you, right? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Amber was with us. Yeah, that's true. I was too tired. Yeah. Sorry, Lucy. I love you. Well, I went. And while we were there at one point, I was talking with Lucy at a few other people.
Starting point is 00:13:56 my friends, Amanda and Kerry, they were there too. But she was like, I have a question. Because we were talking about kids media. Okay. Movies. And she was like, if you see, have you ever seen, what's the wild robot? You all watch Wild Robot? Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:08 No, my God. It's a good one. It's a great one. It's so beautiful. Yeah. But she was like, do you think that these kids movies with robots are like Wally, right? Do you think they're encouraging? Like manufacturing consent for like AI or something?
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yes. Like robots. Oh my God. This is the most Lucy Dakesh question. to ask me at a birthday party. It is interesting. Because you think about the cocoa robots. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:32 That are on the streets delivering food allegedly. Their names are cocoa. But who's to say? I've never opened her up. Well, when you see them struggling, like, I immediately feel compassion. Because they have cute eyes. They're like, blink, blink. And they're stumbling.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I don't know. I've noticed. For AI, though. That's what she was asking. Because AI to me is like, the robots in Wall, like they are given like a human characteristic that makes you feel empathy for them. AI is just this void. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:03 I agree. But also. But how it's viewed. It's like the larger, yeah. Yeah. If AI was a robot that I was talking to that sat next to me, I would think then that argument.
Starting point is 00:15:12 But the AI robots are like, you go, girl. Well, that's good for you for setting that boundary or whatever. For real. They're like parroting back what you'd like to hear. Yeah. We were talking about the movie Iron Giant. I love that. And that movie's a match.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I fucking love that movie. And y'all love Chris Fleming like I do. And I told Chris Fleming that the plot of Iron Giant is what I imagine his childhood was like. And then he was like, what mean the force making, no friends? I go, right, that's how I think you turned out this way. But that's just a theory.
Starting point is 00:15:41 But either way, we were talking about Iron Giant, and she was like, do you think that's like big tech, like the robot? And then I told her, honestly, no, I don't think so in the case of Iron Giant because he was supposed to be used as a war machine, but he didn't want to be used. Totally different political.
Starting point is 00:15:55 different implications. That's what I said. I said. And he sacrifices himself at the end. Also, guys, Iron Giant's a period piece. Sorry, I don't have to say that. But it's not, yeah, it's not set in contemporary. I mean, it's about, it's about the Cold War.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah, they never would have known either, about AI coming to where it is now. Damn, it's max. I read it crazy article in the, I just came back from visiting my grandma for a couple of days. And my grandma reads, she lives in Phoenix and she reads the like, newspaper there every morning. Oh, wow. She's about to be 95. She reads the newspaper every day. And one of the articles that she shoved my way was about, like, this discussion around,
Starting point is 00:16:36 have you heard that, like, people are referring to AI and robots as clankers? Yes, I have. I've heard that too. That's like a very ready thing. They'll come up with a slur for anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're going to work up a slur for anything. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:49 And it, like, has started this, like, discussion of, like, I don't know, they were talking. about, well, they were talking about a, a video that, like, went viral on TikTok where some comedian was like, when, like, my daughter brings home, like, a clanker. And, but then, like, the, the, like, Futurama, like, she's dating a clanker. Yeah, yeah, she's dating, like, a robot, but then it ends up that the robot is Wally, so the dad is, like, excited about it. Okay. But the undertones of it are crazy because it's, like, it's racial, obviously. It's obviously. It's racial undertones. Right. And so like towards the robot. Towards the robot. Interesting. But it's, but it's just like people are like transplanting their racist fears on to robots. Yeah, but then also like
Starting point is 00:17:37 that's weird. I think there's I think we have so much to like basically sort through as. How about just everybody take 10 minutes just go outside. Just go outside go chill up with some friends. Get it. Talk to a person. I appreciate Lucy asking these questions and I appreciate. Me too. Honestly, we had a blast discussing it. Yeah, she's so ferocious about AI in general. No, trust me, I was like, yeah, I want to kill AI too, but the Iron Giant does not count. No, Iron Giant has nothing. He has nothing to do with this.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Iron Giant is a different metaphor completely. Yeah, I agree. I think it's like as soon as they start like rusting, then I'm like, I'm like, all of a sudden you're on my team. It's like, it doesn't matter. Like I think if you're, if you're analog, what it is is like if it's the robot, isn't, um, What's her name? The Girl Who Plays Wednesday? Jenny Ortega's in a new movie that's about, like, robots. Oh, I think I saw a trailer for it.
Starting point is 00:18:32 They go out of, you know, like, what happens to the old robots? You know what I mean? Damn. Take them out back and shoot them, probably. Yeah, totally. In America for sure. In America for sure, yeah. We're talking about in America, probably that.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Okay, y'all. Can we stop settling for hair products that just don't work? I say it's time to shake up your routine and see how much better your hair can feel with Sephora's selection. I've been loving that Sephora has so many prestige hair brands all in one place, so it's actually easy to find products that work for your hair. If your hair needs repair, the K-18 Leaven Molecular Repair Mask is one of those products people genuinely swear by.
Starting point is 00:19:13 If you're trying to level up your washday, the Kerasas-Axor old-time hair oil, leaves your hair looking ridiculously shiny without feeling heavy. I love knowing that Sephora curates the best of prestige hair care, so you're not just guessing, you can shop products that are actually worth the investment because healthier-looking hair starts with better products. Plus, Sephora makes it super convenient with free shipping and same-day delivery. Shop hair at Sephora and give your hair the upgrade it's been waiting for. It is spooky, like, uki-spooky to me how ingrained technology is becoming, though, in a lot of ways.
Starting point is 00:19:46 I think people are going to... It is very... AI scares me on a whole other level, but, like, just even literal technology scares me. Like Waymo's freak me out too. Oh my God. Waymo's fucking scary. Have you seen those specs things? Which ones?
Starting point is 00:19:59 Like they're huge sunglasses that are basically like screened. They're called specs. What? And you can watch stuff on that? And yeah. And you look like a loser. It's kind of like meta glasses where they're like, you can't even tell. And there's huge lenses right here.
Starting point is 00:20:14 And it's like, yes, I can. And there's a, and there's a. A big red light. So I can see. It's like recording. Yeah. they're like, hello fellow patron and they're like literally the biggest lenses ever right there recording. I think the funniest part about them is that the quality of the video is bad.
Starting point is 00:20:31 It's trash. It's actually really bad. Like when you download the video, it's like 480P. Wait until you've done this. You tried this. I have, I've tried them on. And then they're like, check out this video. And I was like, it looks bad.
Starting point is 00:20:44 They're really trying to convince you that not only like is it so awesome to have a camera by your eye. It's recording what you see. But that the glasses look good. They look good. They're like, these are different styles. Yeah, they're not styles. This is so fugly. They're meta glasses.
Starting point is 00:21:01 And you can tell when you look at them. I can't wait to see the social reckoning. Oh yeah, about about meta glasses or just tech. And yeah, the tech of it all. The follow up to the first. I'm like, what are we going to do? I don't know. I think you guys have to keep making more music.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Okay, totally. I think that's the only way we need to produce more content. You need to make more. music, we need to keep making art. Like, we're having this conversation. Like, we all work jobs that we don't have to interact with AI. Like, it's totally a choice. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:30 But, like, I know so many people are being, like, forced to work with it. Yeah. Or make it work in their everyday life. They have to. Yeah, I agree. You're going to get fucking fired. Well, that's why I said. It's really, like, it's eliminating a certain, like, class of worker in a really
Starting point is 00:21:45 interesting way. Because there are people who, it's like, the AI is not a mechanic. You know what I mean? Like certain job, certain kind of like for now, like working class blue collar jobs are actually safe from the like job failure that's happening for like millennials who were told like go get a college degree and you'll be rich or whatever. And it's like, no, you whatever lie. But I do think it's crazy that like AI and I've said this before, but it's like AI seems to just be like the rest of us in the sense of like it wants to make movies. It wants to make movies. Fuck you.
Starting point is 00:22:19 It's like literally I'm actually. I'm like, geez. Well, especially when it pulls. And it pulls from human experience. So it's like, it literally can't create anything without an example. Yeah, of course. So like it needs existing poetry in order to know how to write poetry, which is why you would think it would be good by that measure, but it can't because it comes from human
Starting point is 00:22:40 experience. Well, what's the name of that girl band that, well, that's it too? It is. What's say again? Mark Fisher's like idea of hauntology. Say it again. Hauntology. Haunt.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Haunt. Ha, A, U.N.T. Hauntology is like a type of, it's a genre of music, like burial. Oh, yeah. Stuff that kind of like makes, feels like it's like rediscovered from other times and it's like haunted. That's like the cool. That's the cool version of it. That's rad.
Starting point is 00:23:11 What was that record when we were, we were watching a YouTube the other day. Oh, yeah. We were watching a YouTube. Oh, God. Instant name forgetting. I just mean to say. that it's like a very Mark Fishery idea of like AI as this thing that can only that cannot create it's only it's permanent nostalgia that can't make anything
Starting point is 00:23:33 yeah but that is also like the human condition too yeah I was gonna say like it reminds me of that band but there's like a I feel like for some reason this is part of lesbian culture like there's a there's a punk band that was started do you know this the name of the band that I'm talking about with the girls. They were sisters and like their dad didn't show them any music. And then they started a band. Okay. And um, are they a new band? No, no, no. This was like in like, this was decades ago. But like, he was thinking that they were going to be like the new Beatles because he was like, this is like, they're going to make the most original music. Oh, because they've never listened to music. Because they've never heard any music. Oh, interesting. And like, what they made,
Starting point is 00:24:19 frankly, was like, weird. And like, well, like, because there are fundamentals to music that you should probably know. Yeah, so it's like, it is interesting, like, to a certain extent, like, we're all doing that. Like, we're all creating from nothing. And then, and then. Yes, but we have souls. Right. That's why I said, like I think art comes from, it comes from, like, human experience.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Like the ability to create, even if it's good or bad, depending, because it's subjective. Yeah. It comes from living life, which is another thing. Yeah. that I've talked about with my sister about like the over-policing on TikTok, like the villainizing, essentially anyone that missteps in a way that's not obviously obviously terrible, but like when they jumped on someone's throat by how they react to like their boyfriend or their girlfriend or whatever. And I'm always like younger kids,
Starting point is 00:25:10 COVID kids especially. I'm extending empathy towards them in this sense. I'm like, of course you are so quick to judge and to write people off because you haven't like actually like actually lived life. Like you haven't gone out and loved people like through their mistakes or like made mistakes yourself or like experience life in a way that corrects you and puts you on the right path hopefully. So of course you have this extremely high standard for people to meet because everything you've ever experienced has been through other people on the phone.
Starting point is 00:25:39 Yeah. It's also like the sad, it's also just the sad thing about like the state of, I don't know, people of the left in this country. Right. Where it's like we have been so. disempowered that the only thing that feels powerful is the ways that we use language. Yeah and like police each other. And so like the policing of language becomes this this this alternative right to structural power right totally because it actually is it
Starting point is 00:26:09 has an impact. I don't know I'm being like you know I'm not just where it comes well but I know you're doing your job. It's like because there because we don't have this power in these other ways, language becomes the means through which we can get out the urge to change things. Totally. But it's ultimately like futile. Yeah. And it doesn't feel good. When you come up against the brick wall of like. And especially when it eats itself, right? Like you're just, it's a snake eating its own tail at that point, which progresses nobody, moves nobody forward. And I also think it's an indicator of being young, right? Like we're older millennials. So like we've lived through many a tumultuous time. I also think, though, that's why art has never been better, your album included.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Right. It's never been better because every time geopolitical turmoil is happening everywhere and it's awful and awful and awful. The best most iconic art comes out of those times. Totally. Unfortunately, because everyone's, you know, unhappy or pissed off. And that reminds me of your guys' song on your new album, Big Stick. Obviously, same kind of undertones, same themes.
Starting point is 00:27:15 But I think that's why, that's why I said, the only way to kill AI, Muna has to keep making music. That is the true way to kill AI. Fourth wall breaking, this is good. That's what I... Wait, you see that? Did you all hear that? Wait, you see that?
Starting point is 00:27:30 The big web was tied all the way back. Yeah, hello. Look at me. Good job. Thank you. But I do want to talk, that's great transition to the new album. I do want to talk with the new album. Obviously, dancing on the wall. My sister was my introduction to y'all.
Starting point is 00:27:45 And you've only gotten better with time. if I may say so. And I do want to LOL really quickly the last time y'all were here. I was like, is there anyone else you guys are looking at that you're like, wow, this person really has something. And you're like, honestly, no. Because every time we say it, they go past us. We can't.
Starting point is 00:28:02 And y'all were like, every time we say it out loud, that person just takes off. And I was like, y'all are oracles to me in that sense too, like chapel. Like y'all want to do the same thing. We're like, hey, girl. We're like, we're proud of you. Y'all are just, you just pick correctly every single time. Yeah, we do. And I pick y'all. The vote means nothing, but, you know, I'm going to do my best.
Starting point is 00:28:24 I'm like, oh, my God. I do think it's important, though, to, like, keep your eye on the up-and-comers because it's so inspiring. Absolutely. It's like, they have stuff to teach us, too. Absolutely. I want to talk about the new album, though. Like, how did it feel? Like, how does this one feel compared to your previous art?
Starting point is 00:28:40 It's funny. It's hard to say because it also has been such a long time since we put music out and it feels like so much has changed. Exactly. Both just, like, in the past. in the world and the culture and like in I don't know just in our lives yeah we're different but I do think it is really nice to have music out and as always it just kind of makes you want to make more music right and like keep that's how you're reading kind of yeah well not fucking right now I'm going through something yeah yeah like don't ask me for more right now but in the future yeah
Starting point is 00:29:13 I think it it makes you releasing something just makes you want to make the art that reacts against or with yeah as a companion to your previous works yeah totally yeah so i don't know something like that yeah i mean i think that the first like term that kind of came up in my head is like it just feels like um we're at a point where like like the the phrase that came up for me is like victory lap yeah hell yeah i just feel like we've we've been able to achieve so much as a band. Period. And part of that is like just being together for this long.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Like most bands don't make it past like the decade mark. So that's a huge thing to achieve. I know, can you believe it? I mean, I can. Yeah. So it's like to be able to like have made four albums together is huge. And then also I think we just felt really in love with the songs on this record. and we were, like, to be, like, able to work on something, like, consistently, you know, like, the year before we were putting, we put the album out, we were just going to the studio, like, like, office hours and just, like, like, consistently working on making every song as good as it could be and, like, experimenting with stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:41 And it's, like, that is the happiest that I am in my life when we're doing that. Yeah. Like, it's, it's so cool to feel like you have, like, this purpose that you're really passionate about. Yeah. And to get to, like, yeah, share that and tour that. We did, like, a mini tour. Like, we did shows in L.A. and New York and London.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Yeah, a promo trip. Yeah, like, just, like, kind of mini-residencies in those cities. And it was really sweet to be able to, like, play the record live as soon as you. as it came out. Yeah. But we also haven't done, like, the actual tour isn't until the fall. So we're in this, like, funny limbo right now. Like, like, I think you don't feel completely settled in an album's release until you're
Starting point is 00:31:30 on the headline tour for it. Yeah, totally. And, yeah, so now it's like we're just going to have, like, I guess a hot girl summer. Hell yeah. And then we'll be back with the end. Yeah. And we're so excited. You guys are clocking.
Starting point is 00:31:45 back in in the fall. And we love, obviously, like, I love being in the studio, but I think that we do shine as a live fan. I can vouch for that 1,000 percent. I have watched me alive. What a fucking key, bitch. It is so fun. I remember seeing you at the Greek, and I was
Starting point is 00:32:03 like, Drew's here? Hell, fucking, yeah, I was there. And I bought a section. What? In my lesbians. Hell yeah. They sell sections there? I was sitting in the back. I said, well, this won't do. That's iconic. And then we were like, let's And then a girl walked up to me and was like, oh, we have some sections.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I was like, yeah, I'm gonna pay for that. And it was just the four of us. Oh my god, that is so iconic. That's iconic. I had to see. That's probably why I saw you. Yeah, that is. My big ass was right in the middle.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I was standing right in the center. That's so funny. Well, I know, I know too that you had mentioned that y'all are in very different places in your lives now, obviously. Older now, more established, been doing this for a while. Like, how did that kind of shift in your lives affect the way you guys made this album?
Starting point is 00:32:43 Was it different? Did it feel different? or was it kind of the same just a little bit more convicted? I feel like we're just more sure of ourselves as musicians. And I don't know if we've ever put out a record where we felt like we did the best that we could. Like and you know, you always, you know, try to get to that place. But I don't know. The thing is I do think if we were given more time, we would have worked until, you know,
Starting point is 00:33:06 whatever that deadline's last moment was. But I do feel like we did the absolute best that we could, making this record. Like I don't know how we could have done something differently and gotten like a different result that would be, you know, more proud of. I mean, I think that I do think you doing like songwriting stuff. Like when I was doing my solo record, Joe started doing more writing sessions and stuff and I feel like that did affect like the dynamic in the studio. Yeah. Like it was like more collaborative. Collaborative. Yeah. But I think beautiful. Which I, which I think it just comes from like I mean yeah maybe it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't have like done more stuff
Starting point is 00:33:50 like that but I do feel like it's just more self-assuredness you know that allowed us to collaborate more and hopefully like made some of our best pop songs hell yeah yeah and just like being better at communicating yeah yeah and we've had more like I think also like relationship like being in relationships outside of the band then affects your relationship in the band because you're like are learning about yourself and how to ask for things that you need and stuff like that. Yeah. But it's like, yeah, it's kind of like the closest thing that I have in my life to like a marriage. Where it's like, you know, we, we, there's so much commitment.
Starting point is 00:34:28 You guys are in a common law marriage. We are. We are. We didn't involve the government, but we have been living together for 10 years. And we would never. We would fucking never. But we've involved the bank. Yes.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Obviously. We share accounts. Just kidding. Oh, yeah. We got it. We got it. Sees upon hell yeah need it yeah not yet I'm getting married this summer though holy cow where in Hawaii I was gonna ask where we're doing this summer
Starting point is 00:34:53 on Oahu yeah my mom grew up there oh period where yeah yeah what's it in Kailua oh no way I have family in Kailua too period look at us if we might have you cousins somehow yes oh my god don't let me find out I'll start talking about I'll start making a public record I'll start telling people yeah yeah yeah we're getting married there It's very spiritual to us. I feel like we feel most ourselves there. That's awesome. And if you guys want to come, I'd love for you to come,
Starting point is 00:35:21 but you will have to perform if you come. Just keep that in mind. You have a wedding to get to Oahu's. I'm going to have y'all work in if you come. I'm just kidding. I like weddings. I even made a joke because I've invited quite a few of my friends, too, that are like performers.
Starting point is 00:35:36 I'm like, imagine I'm just like, okay, karaoke, who wants to perform? But you have to perform your own song. Who's into it? Just so everyone gets, they get their own Coachella at my wedding. But it's all gay people. That's what you mean. That's how you use your power.
Starting point is 00:35:51 That's what I'm saying. Well, we'll talk after. Are you collaborating? Yes, I am. Yeah. I'm actually, I'm going to Lanai, which is another island. Yeah. So stunning.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Very cool. I'm very excited. It's going to be awesome. I can feel the cool air in my hair. On your scalp. Oh my gosh. You might feel the human air. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:11 I'll count that as RSBPs. One, two, and three. I'm feeling the wave is bringing you in the breeze. That's why I'm telling you, when I get there, I feel like I reset a little bit. My evil gets tampered down just a little bit. Only the mainland makes me evil like that. Something in the energy. Are you a chiller or are you, I mean, I'd imagine that like building something like this,
Starting point is 00:36:32 it's like, do you think about work all the time? Yes, but I think a lot of that's just because I'm a Virgo. And I do love, I love towards. Virgo, what's your rising? Oh, my son, I'm Virgo's son, cancer, moon, Sagittarius Rising. Oh, we're all, we're very compatible. Oh, look at us.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Yeah. Well, I love Virgo. Yeah. Tell your partner. Tell your girlfriend. My girl. She's cancer son. Oh, look at that.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Mine too. We got Sensi. What are y'all's big three? We're Caps. Okay. Okay. But I'm Cap, Torres Rising, which is also I'm Torres Rising.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Oh, I love Taurus. I get along with Torses. Very well. My partner is at Torres. Period. All are tourists. And then I'm a Gemini moon. Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:17 Yeah, yeah, very. Yeah. Yeah, super. And I'm an Earth sign. Wait, and then you're a Gemini moon? No, Gemini rising. Our signs are all kind of like, like mixed together. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Because I'm Gemini rising, but Joseph Pisci's sun, I'm a Pisces moon. Oh, gee. And then we're both caps suns. Yeah. And then I'm tourist rising and Virgo moon. It's like really like entangled. I've joked a lot about Capricorns because I've been like, Capricorns to me don't, they should be taking the flack that like Geminize and Scorpios get.
Starting point is 00:37:47 T. Only because I'm like Capricorns are so, because like my cousin Adam, who's my hair and makeup artist, he's a Capricorn. And my sister's a Capricorn Moon, I believe. But I feel like Capricorns are really good at getting people to love them. We're just better at convincing people that were right. Exactly. That too.
Starting point is 00:38:03 I'm saying you're very, very personal, very likable. Well, you think Geminized are like that too? No. What I think they should be getting shit for is that Capricorns, when they're, like basically over you, whatever capacity that is, they could just pretend they never met you and that you're dead. Who did this to you?
Starting point is 00:38:17 Which I believe to be a super villain trait. And I think this, no one did anything to me. Caps are hard asses. Yeah, the Capricorns are hard asses and my sister's a Capricorn moon, which is so funny because I've joked about my sister for years that like if I'm talking to her actively speaking to her, I can watch the light leave her eyes.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Oh my God, name is this to me. If she's over it, I watch her, oh. And like, I'm like, okay. Okay, no worries. Hey, over here, over here. You really? I do that to you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:47 No, you do that. Hey, girl, you do that too. No shade. You do that more than anybody. In the New Yorker piece that we did, you can see Katie is somewhere so different. No, Katie, Katie, it's so funny. I'm going to roast Katie right now. Katie will ask me for advice on a topic that she really doesn't want advice on.
Starting point is 00:39:07 And then I'm telling you granular. I'm like, I'm telling her five seconds. an overview. And that I'm seeing in your eyes. You're giving her like math advice. That's what she doesn't want. She wants to like, and I'm not listening. No.
Starting point is 00:39:22 I'm not. Even my sister, like for a long-ass time, my sister like would do this thing where if we were on the phone, if she wanted to get off the phone, she would be like, well, I got a poop. And she said it every time and then finally one time I go, no you don't. No you don't. And then we started laughing and she goes, I'm just, I'm done.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Yeah, totally. I'm done talking. Yeah, I was like, can then say that, bitch. Yeah, if you were white, you would say, you would say, okay, I'm going to let you go. That's what you say. Well, I'll let you head out. I know you got things to do, I'm sure. Or, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:55 That's very Midwestern. Yeah, it's very Midwestern. Yeah, it's like, well, and that's why I think I understand y'all, Capricorns especially. This is crazy, though, this thing about, like, us moving on like that. I haven't ever thought about that before, but I think it is true. It's very true. I think the truth is like when a, oh, God, when a Capricorn get, I think when a Capricorn gets the ick, right.
Starting point is 00:40:19 It like, it just will never. And it could be anything. That's the thing. It's like, it could be so, so small or huge. Either way, you're dead to them and they're over it. Because we're like right about it. So that's where I run into it because I'm a Virgo. So by nature, I'm a nodal.
Starting point is 00:40:36 So that's where I have my beat. I also am not. Cats are like the ultimate note. That's what I'm saying. Final box. friends with some exes. I just have, it's not like... Well, you're sitting on a couch.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Yeah, I'm like best friend with some exes. Well, you're both capricorns. You were like... So there you go. You guys, to be in alliance. Yeah. But it's either like, yeah, I'm still really close with you and I love you or like, yeah. It's real black and white.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I respect it. I just find it to be, it could be used for good or evil. Yeah, I'm like, some exes. I'm like, who's the other ex? I could some. Think about it. The one you're in a common law. Yeah, I literally don't.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I don't know if I don't know if I. agree with you. Talk to the exes that were thinking about. Let's get the exes on the pod. Maybe it's like happening. No way, dude. I'm saying, I don't even have that many. Yeah, but you would just, I don't think what you said was true.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Katie's. I think you just like actively lied. Katie's extraordinarily nice and forgiving. Dude, I want to beat up the shit out of some of Katie's exes. Wait, you want to hear something. I want to beat the shit out of my sister's exes too. I got spammed by one of my exes yesterday. A fishing attempt by email.
Starting point is 00:41:41 A fish. Fishing attempt. Yeah. Fishing attempt. That's creepy because my sister has also had that. Yeah. Lesbians are crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Like, come on you. Like, was it. I don't think they did it on purpose. Like, her social like reconnection. No, it was like, it was like, your P.H. No, yeah, hers was to get in contact with her again. That's what I don't.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Oh, like, on purpose. I think, I think so. No, this was like a spam. Oh, this was like a spam. The person was hacked. Oh. Oh. No.
Starting point is 00:42:04 No. What if this, what if, what if they were. Was trying to give you a virus? No. Spam calls. Spam calls, yeah, like put her on like a call bank thing. So like she'll get like- Yeah, she'll get like a thousand a day.
Starting point is 00:42:17 I know. I know, they can't keep getting away. And I gotta be honest, my number has been sold. Right. My number has been sold. This is a amount of fuck-eism. This is a phrase that Joseph will say throughout the day. I'm getting like, my number has been sold and no one's listening to me.
Starting point is 00:42:35 I've been having fun talking to some of the texters who are like, how about we meet up for dinner to night. I love that shit. I will go back and forth a little bit with them, but I'll usually do like, I don't talk. I don't talk. I don't talk. I will do like a train. I'll like translate something into a different language. This makes me think about geo. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Our basis has gotten texted by like numbers that are sending like photos of hot girls being like want to meet up. What kind of list is that? Right. It's a gooner list. It's a good. Yeah. He'll text. Your basis is on a gooner list. Yeah. He'll text us. Wait, I think he's in the most fun of the way.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Guna. We're starting a subscription service. That should be the subscription fanfic service. Yes. Oh my gosh. That's a great. Do you know what a Gooner is?
Starting point is 00:43:21 No, what is it? Keep it that way. Like a big purve, honestly. That jacks off a lot. That's like Gooner kind of energy. People who like jack off, they're like edging in a community with other men. Yes, exactly.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Like circle jerking? Yeah, like a circle jerk. They're having homoerotic connections. They're sending each. other porn so they can jack off all day. And they talk about it like it's normal. They talk about it like, oh, I got a clock back in. They're talking about it with other guys.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Where is this happening? Which is so gay. Far away from us, thank God. Is it like on Reddit? Yeah, I'm sure. All over there. Or on Twitch, probably. I'm like everything that's happening.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Is it on Reddit? Is that word? I don't know. Thankfully, we live in a very protective gay bubble. Thank God. That doesn't permeate our airspace. But like, it gets in, it honestly only gets in my airspace because of what I do.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Like me fucking a man. works its way to me, unfortunately. Yeah, I'm sure. Like, have you all seen the Manosphere documentary on Netflix? Yeah. Would you watch it? I have no. I have not.
Starting point is 00:44:16 I love to too. I can't even. He's the goat. Yeah, it's honestly so interesting to watch, but he basically goes into like red pill communities, but he talks with like red pill men. And it's so funny because in that documentary, there's about three out of the four guys he focuses on are like my ops.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Like, they've actively talked shit on me. I've talked shit on them. Oh my God. And they don't talk about me in this movie at all, but I remember watching them all. I was like, I have fucked up three out of the four of those guys. Wait, so why is he focusing on these people, like, to see, like, why do you walk the way you do? So he does, like, he does these immersive documentaries where he goes and spends time with people.
Starting point is 00:44:50 He did that series, The Settlers about the, like, West Bank is really, yeah, yeah. And it's also, that's also, he's like, what's going to say, what's wrong with you? Yeah, essentially, he goes and he, he investigates. Okay. He's been doing it for 20 years. Yeah. Yeah. What did he find?
Starting point is 00:45:06 What did he discover about your ops? He discovered. that they all were, were, like, mama's boys who were, like, they have, like, emotional. Yeah. And he, like, even asked them, like, do you really believe this stuff? Or do you just say it? And they, a lot of them don't, like, which I've said too, which I'm like, I don't know
Starting point is 00:45:24 what's worse, like being actually that fucking stupid or doing it for money. Like, I don't know what's worse. Like, they're both pretty terrible. Money is maybe. Right. A lot of them are also, it's like, this is a sad thing, but it's like, a lot of them are young men who grew up, you know, in maybe like working class environments or whatever, who had a single mom and an absent father.
Starting point is 00:45:48 How can you be mean to women? That's the greatest irony to me of all. It's very weird. But a lot of them come from single moms, which is very interesting. It's like they're trying to like, they don't have like, yeah, it's their vision of a man and like what it means to be a man. This is all of it. I don't know of the gender binary man.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Yeah, don't get, don't even get into that conversation with them. Yeah, don't even get into that. Every time I even broach that topic even a little, because I really hate too when people say things like, oh, well, I just want to like take you out of your masculine energy and put you more in your feminine energy. Like, that's literally just cloak and dagger misogyny. Like, that's what the fuck it is.
Starting point is 00:46:27 And I was like, and then if I tell you masculine and feminine don't even fucking exist and that was manmade, then what? Then we're back at zero. And then they're like, well, now you're saying boys and girls are not real. well they aren't like socially speaking they literally aren't but that's why sometimes with people who hate me I'm like you're not smart enough to have this conversation I think that's just tea and that's the thing that's really sad and scary yeah I'm like you're not smart enough to have this conversation with me so you just catch these fucking jokes and that's why sometimes they're like why don't you have like a more in-depth conversation because they would have to understand gender as a social construct and they can't even get there so there's really no point there's nowhere else we can go or that women are women and gay people are certain an academy Right, that too. We need that too. We need that.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Dude. It's also like y'all are all, what do you want to do, hang out with all these guys all day being shirtless? We're not even knowing what they do. They're just fucking shirtless. Y'all are weird.
Starting point is 00:47:19 I'm so sorry. But watch the Manisphere, doc. Yeah, watch the Manisphir. Well, actually, more importantly, go see Moot on tour. Yeah. And stream dancing off the wall, obviously. But I really, I would love to know,
Starting point is 00:47:28 just to kind of wrap us if you could tell us what you really hope people take away from this album. Oh, God. Yeah. I mean, I hope it feels like
Starting point is 00:47:37 reflective of people's life experiences in certain ways or that they can see themselves in the stories that we're telling on the record. I hope they like the music and come to the shows. Tickets on sale now where's moon.com go by to it. Or maybe not because it might be sold out near you so act quickly.
Starting point is 00:47:55 And yeah, I hope we're able to provide like a space where people feel safe and like they can you know, release whatever they might need to release. or that they can come and make friends. I was hearing from some people the other night
Starting point is 00:48:09 that people at the shrine show, like, the further back you got, people were creating with different communities. It's so cute. Oh, yeah, they were there. Yeah, my sister and Carrie went as well, to your shrine show. Well, like, there was a group of people who got really invested in, like, this couple that they were seeing. And they were, like, when do you think they met?
Starting point is 00:48:28 Oh, interesting. Like, they were just making friends with each other. They were making friends about, but, like, about what was going on in a kind of nice way. Yeah, yeah, people watching. Yeah, and people watching. And then people like dancing with each other because they can't see the stage. So, cute. Just what happens
Starting point is 00:48:42 when you have a packed house for Ramuna. Yeah, yeah. I feel like there's something that is revealing itself the longer that this album is out that's revealing itself to me about just desire. And I think that a lot of people that are like on the left struggle right now with like how do I like ever feel good yeah in in this horrible
Starting point is 00:49:15 yeah like how do I experience joy yeah and like and also like how do I not like feel guilty about that or experiencing joy yeah and I think that like yeah there is like something in this album that um like wrestles with that and I hope that um like people feel in touch with like yeah their desire and their kind of like life drive yeah like because we have to be trying to nourish that wherever we can totally like if you want to be a part of yeah like because we are alive right now so it's like right and especially to that same point we have a mutual friend and Caleb I've had this conversation with Caleb many times about like how as tumultuous and awful as the world can be a lot of times it forces me to be
Starting point is 00:50:04 more present and experience and like really enjoy art and experience it for real because it's almost like who knows if we're going to get to keep doing it. And so it's almost it makes it, it's ironic that it makes you want to be more present even more so and feel things for real and feel things honestly and honestly. And I think that's what y'all have done for years. I think y'all have created and cultivated a space in which people can feel all of those things at once, including survivor's guilt, right? of like wanting to enjoy, wanting to be in love, wanting to celebrate in the middle of awfulness. So I genuinely believe y'all are one of the greatest,
Starting point is 00:50:42 like, bands to ever exist. And listen, I don't give a fuck what people think about this. I think you're better than the Beatles. That is my take. I don't fucking care what people say. That is my take. Well, the Beatles didn't write big sticks. Yeah, I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 00:50:56 Like, I... Wait, but did you guys see... This is the only poll thing for the whole... I was talking about this. I was talking about the Paul McCartney interview for chicken chop date, like, before you walked in? Did you know that Paul McCartney wrote yesterday in his dreams? No, I did not, but it makes sense.
Starting point is 00:51:14 The man was asleep. That's so fucked up. When he wrote that song, he was asleep. He was passed out. So I'm like, I heard that and I was like, okay, like that is legendary. It's kind of like the Michael Jackson joke where he says, like, if I don't act on an idea, God will give it to Prince. God will give it to Prince.
Starting point is 00:51:29 That's y'all to Chappel Rone. You're like, if I don't do it now, she can take it. She can be given a chapel. You can let her have it. She can have whatever she wants. No, I want to keep it. Yeah, she'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:51:41 She'll find something else. And I'll tell you what, like, I really think that y'all could have done yellow submarine. I don't think they could have done Silk Chafon. I don't think so. I don't think that's to be true. They might not have the vocal range. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:51:52 But I really... I think we would have probably gotten made fun of you. We're going to get on a whole side of, like, Twitter with people are, like, angry about the Beatles and now us. I've made this public many times. When Nat and Alex Wolfe were on here, they wanted to... Fucking with the Beatles heavy.
Starting point is 00:52:08 I'm sorry, I'm going to generalize. It's just my experience. In my experience, is white people's stuff. That's what I said. That's exactly what I said. If you talk to anyone, if you talk to anyone in my family and my mom's white, but she
Starting point is 00:52:23 was an upright base player, they would all be like, of course, Earthwind and Fire. That's what I'm saying. It's fucking better than the Beatles. Are you insane? And they asked me, they were like, well, then who's one of the greatest asks to you?
Starting point is 00:52:34 And then I, well, and I said Prince. And then they were like, okay, that, yeah, that's actually a good one. Yeah, fuck out of here. They thought I was going to say some bullshit. Fuck out of here. Listen. Unfortunately, I totally agree with you. Right.
Starting point is 00:52:47 I like wings. I'm a wings for, I like Paul McCartney's wings. I like George Harrison solo more than I like the beautiful stuff. I like Ringo because nobody likes Ringo. Hell yeah. So that's why I like him. Why not? Fuck it.
Starting point is 00:53:00 I'm an underdog lover. You know what I mean? But I think I think y'all are just... It's going to drop the day there. The Beatles movie comes out. I know like Paul McCartney's going to die the day this drops and everyone's going to call me an asshole. Anyways. Shout out to wings, though.
Starting point is 00:53:14 Shout out. I do want to say though, like on some real shit, I really do think y'all are one of the best acts out there and have been for a while. And the fact that y'all are continuing to do it and prioritize like your fan base and how you guys feel and what you guys feel and what you're you want to make is I find extremely inspiring. And I think y'all are incredible. We're gonna be selfish to the day we die. Please do. Unfortunately,
Starting point is 00:53:37 we prioritize our art over bankroll. Hell of yeah, but if you want to support us, come to the show. Yeah, hello. Buy some merch. Yeah, so please make sure y'all, thank you so much for coming on the show again. Thank you for having us.

Starting point is 00:54:01 Okay, contract pending. I'm assuming for free, contract pending. Perfect, love that. I love y'all. I think y'all are incredible. Make sure y'all check out Muna's latest album, obviously and make sure you all go check them out on tour. And for the two straight people that maybe are unfamiliar,

Starting point is 00:54:48 Every lesbian in the history of time, like, Moona is the Mount Rushmore. That is, it's just me. And we look exactly like Mount Rushmore. I've heard people say.
