Did you know your like vagina falls asleep?
You're talking about it being like choked to death?
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Oh, I see.
I was like, go to sleep, go to sleep.
Yeah, I was like choked.
I was getting choked and I couldn't.
You to your own pussy, go to sleep, go to sleep.
Yes, yes.
I was like, shh, girl.
Your time will come.
Down, girl.
Everyone and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show
starring me, your favorite.
Everybody knows me who cares about me.
On to the guest today, we have the iconic, the legendary,
the Catness Everdeen herself.
Grace Ryder!
Yes!
Pena. Today, well, no, that's capital.
That's capital. I'm here to, you know,
spew propaganda. I'm actually here to take down the capital.
I am the revolution.
That was close.
I was like when she had that flip, that, oh my God, what did she say?
Freight and slip. Yeah, with the, with the fascism at the thing.
Oops. I saw that.
She was like, you proved that fascism is, oh, I mean, sorry, fashion.
It's like, it's starting.
Revolution's beginning.
Here we go.
I'm so happy to have you.
Thank you.
I'm so excited to be here.
I know we were just giggling and king.
Like we would have nothing to do.
We were just sitting here talking.
Like we didn't know that the cameras
were supposed to be rolling at that point.
Yeah.
And like we were planning our Universal trip and Disneyland trip.
Yes.
And yeah,
unfortunately I can't go.
I know Grace was telling me all the amazing things she's going to do
while she's here in L.A.
And then she goes,
and get this,
I don't have time to go to Universal.
Yeah.
What's the fucking point?
Yeah.
I guess when you're,
you know,
you're so blessed and busy.
I'm so up at the moment.
I have no time to drop down on a ride.
You don't realize what you're sacrificing when you make it to the top.
Yeah, when you make it to the top, it's like, oh my God, all my friends are busy
and they can't ride a ride with me.
Okay.
Okay.
So, yeah.
Well, I guess I get why so.
I'll have to carve out the time for that.
I'll be like put it in the calendar.
In the Google Cal.
In the Google Cal for some universal time.
I'll figure it out.
There might be some time.
Because what is we said once in here?
I'm going to manifest that for you because I love that you take rides that seriously.
I thought with that.
I realized recently I was like, I actually don't know if I've been on a roller coaster this year.
And I was like, I feel like that's why there's like a funk.
I feel like that's why I'm a little off.
Yeah, you need to reset your chakras.
Yeah.
I'm like, I got to do like my dad, we would call it like the belly belly.
Where like you'd get a little like, you'd be like, oh, who when you're like when you hit the drop.
So I'm like I need to like, I need to feel.
I need to be caught.
That creativity.
Yes.
Essentially.
That's, well, I'm going to manifest that for that for you.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
I appreciate that.
I think it's going to be something that will help
kickstart an even better idea than your hunger game spoof.
Because I was telling you how much I loved your hunger game spoof.
Oh, yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Amazing.
That is actually more recent, though.
I want to rewind a little bit further back talking about comedy in general.
Like you getting into entertaining, like, where did it kind of start for you in terms
of like, I want to be hilarious for a living?
So where do I do that?
Oh, my gosh.
I mean, I was like, I want to be a YouTuber.
I was, I mean, I wanted to be on the Disney channel, but I was,
I was like, okay, that's not going to happen.
I was like, let's move on.
So, YouTuber first.
And I guess just like making videos.
And then I just started posting online.
And then I did like a Harry Styles watt pad fan fiction that like blew up.
And it was right at that sweet little pocket of TikTok where it was like everyone was like, it was like January 2019.
It was like pre-COVID or maybe that one was around COVID time where everyone was like flocking in.
And I did this Harry Styles fan fiction parody.
and like it was back then when you could like get a million likes and then also get a million followers
where it was like it was like it was like quickly yeah it was like a million likes equal to million followers
now it's like you could get 20 million views or 20 million likes in a video and they'll be like blocked
I actually don't even want to see you again no for real so it's like I appreciate if I never saw you on
yeah inflation yeah it's inflation it's the digital inflation it hit us all it's hit us all my numbers just
are not pulling the way they used to and I'm like okay well it's time to
do something else you know what else and then that's where is that where your inspiration for the
hundred games was worse i was like views are down please i was like come back come back
please it was um it was i mean i'd always wanted to do that and it was going to be like honestly
the initial idea was like we were never going to film it i was like should we just go out and like
play pretend in the woods that we're like hunger games and then i was like well we should film this
i was like this is just strange if we're not otherwise it's weird yeah otherwise it's just we're
LARPing and then we've crossed we've crossed into different territory.
No shame to LARPers would love to do that sometime.
Yeah.
But yeah.
And then my friend Ryan was like, actually, you should just do that for real.
And I was like, oh, yeah.
So we just did it for my 24th birthday.
And then just rent to Airbnb.
That's honestly a great, a great gift to get.
You're like my gift.
Free labor.
Your gift to me, yeah.
Yeah.
It is a 12-hour shoot day.
Oh, and it was.
And it was.
That's why I felt like this year,
when I filmed Twilight, I like cried afterwards because I was like, I'm so sorry I made you guys do that.
It was so long.
It was so hard.
Yeah.
I was like, why did we do this?
Yeah.
So now actually, now it might be getting the point where like the union might be getting on me.
And I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, sag's coming after.
Yeah.
I'm like, okay.
They're all volunteers.
They want to.
They like it.
This was my birthday game.
Yeah.
I'm like, it's present.
It's a present.
It's a present.
It's digital content.
There's no loss there.
Did you always want to be in entertainment?
Like, did you know when you were younger?
Yeah.
I feel like I could tell that about you.
I think Maddie.
Yeah, Maddie always knew.
Yeah, she always knew who she wanted to be when she was older.
Yeah, I mean.
Who were like some of your idols growing up when you were watching?
Oh, Jack Black.
Love Nacho Libre.
I love Jack.
Yes.
Yeah.
School of Rock is one of my family's favorite movies.
That's one of my favorite movies of all time.
It's just his whole discography is perfect to me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nacho Libre is so funny that no one cares that he was playing
Mexican man. And I find that very interesting.
Right. Let's dig into it.
What a different time. No one, even now, though, like, even now,
they'll pull it up now and they're like, God, this guy's hilarious.
Yeah. There's no sense of like, hey, this was kind of strange that he did this.
Because it was, but it was that funny. Like, it was that funny and that good that people were
like, and you know what? Art is art. I mean, yeah. Yeah, is it because he was just like so committed
to it. Maybe. Or like, but yeah. And maybe it's because none of it was based in like necessarily
stereotypes. It's just like his, that was his life at the time. I just think the accent he was doing.
Exactly. Well, that would be the only thing. That's the only, that's my point. Yeah. Everyone's like,
talk about a larper. Talk about a larper. Yes. You want to talk about larping. Talk about larping.
He did it. I mean, I think about that scene where he like squeezes his butt cheeks a lot.
Oh my God. I know. He says not dancing at the party a lot. Me and my family. I love Anchorman.
That was like a big one. I love that one. I was just telling my husband the other day that they don't
make comedies like that anymore. You probably can't.
anymore now, but like, I just mean the absurdity ones.
Like, like, Ingram Man was so absurd.
Stepbrothers is so absurd.
But it was just like unbelievably funny.
I know.
It's just like, because of the absurdity of it, I guess.
I know, I'm hoping like, I don't know, I'm hoping like the obsession wave makes people
want to like, I know, because, I mean, younger people.
He came from comedy.
I'm like, okay, because I don't know, like indie horror movies can kind of do that.
Yeah, that's true.
comedy movies. I feel like anytime you try to make a comedy movie, they're like, why would people
want to watch this? Yeah. It's like, okay, yeah. Then I guess it's like a pitch perfect. It's up to you.
I know. Okay. I'll try my best. Pitch perfect. I was just telling someone when I saw Pitch for,
I saw it in theaters. I was laughing my fucking ass off. It was the funniest thing I had ever
seen at the time. It's incredible. It's so good. I'm like, oh, will we ever get anything? I'm like,
nothing compares to it like recently. I'm trying to think of like, I literally can't even think of
I'm saying every one I can think of is older.
So like I talk a lot about the movie The Heat with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock.
Oh my gosh.
I don't think I've seen that.
What the hell?
Melissa McCarthy.
How have I not seen that?
That's grace.
Oh, the heat were there spies?
They're cops.
Or cops.
It's like a buddy cop thing.
Okay.
I need to watch it.
You have to go watch it.
It holds up to this day.
I literally, if people come to say at my house, I'm like, guess what you're watching
tonight, this fucking movie.
And we're putting the heat on.
I'm educating everyone.
Okay.
And even Melissa McCarthy's whole discography like Tammy,
I loved Tammy.
Okay, I don't remember Tammy too much.
Tammy was like identity theft.
Yeah, that one was my favorite.
I love that.
Shout out to Melissa.
Yeah.
Girl come back.
No, period.
Literally.
Or we can just do it.
That's true.
Let's set it up for us.
Yeah.
We actually, yeah.
New wave.
Yeah.
I think if anyone could bring back that kind of comedy, it's you.
Really?
Like, I really think so.
In terms of movie, like, hell yeah, I think you could.
Well, everyone.
everyone always ask me what's my dream
I would love no I was gonna I would ask you
okay okay well they ask like what's your dream
and I feel like I remember watching grownups
and being like well that's the dream I was like I just want to make a movie
with my friends you're so fucking real
have some excuse to be like well let's just rent this
really nice house and like film some funny bits
and then all my best friends are gonna be in it you're so me you're so me
so I'm like feel the same way and that's what the hunger games was
and that's what they all are and now I'm like
Okay, so I'm saying you've done it.
Yeah.
You've lived it.
I'm like, it's happening.
Yeah.
Like even like a movie like couples retreat, that's another one that's so good.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Another one that's so good.
Like those kinds of hilarious movies like they're so absurd in their humor sometimes.
But it's like the plot line is very normal.
Yeah.
But what makes it so unbelievably funny is the absurdity of their humor.
Like I even like Paul Rudd's character in forgetting Sarah Marshall, he plays like the surf instructor.
I don't know if I've actually seen that one.
That one's a great one.
one that a Judd-Apital movie has
Paul Redd plays like a small character
but they're in Hawaii and he's going there to forget about
an ex and he's like his surf instructor
but he's like his name's like Kyle
but he's a white guy who moved to Hawaii so he's
he acts like a surfer yeah and then he's like you could call me
Coonoo and it's not a real name like in anything
and he's like that's just what you could call me that's what you could call me
Coonoo
the locals gave me that nickname
See, we're about 60% of the way there.
That's the movie.
Just off that riff.
Okay, there we go.
Yeah, we have something.
You got final draft?
You got final draft and the ticket to Universal.
We're writing something.
We're writing something on the Fast and Furious ride.
About the Fast and the Furious ride.
About it.
Yes, yes.
Let's do it.
Okay, so I want to talk more about TikTok and when you started making videos.
Like, when you first started making them, when did you start feeling like, okay,
maybe this is like turning into something.
Do you have like a specific moment where you felt like, okay, okay,
maybe I could turn this into like a full-time gig?
Like were you working at the time?
Are you just making videos?
At the time I was like at a community college and like when it really,
when I was like a million followers or something and like I think I think growing up
watching YouTubers and stuff, I always knew this was a career that you could have and like
this is something like I could do.
So I was like, okay, well how do I?
I have the followers on here.
How do I get them over to somewhere else?
Or like get them to be like actual like fans and like.
Yeah, totally.
And care about things that I make other stuff.
Yeah, then like silly videos and whatever.
And then I like got a manager in 2020.
And then I started like auditioning for stuff.
Oh nice.
And I was like, okay, well, this was the end goal.
So I was like, we're good.
And honestly it's been, I feel like looking back,
it's like, it happened really fast.
But then when I was in it, I was like,
I guess it's like taking six years
I guess it's been six years yeah
but it's like you know on the internet
it's just like also fast I feel like some people like blow up and like
get these opportunities whatever and I think I was like seeing that
and being like hey but your time shall come
king king
you're talking to yourself yeah king
what the hell I mean queen
no that makes sense that makes sense it's fair too because it's like
it seems it seems interesting when you're watching it because
sometimes people are going for other things,
but then sometimes they end up in the spot that you were going for too.
So it's like, it's interesting.
Like the timeline is just not,
you can't rely on it.
Like when you watch other people,
you're like,
it happens so differently for everybody.
It happens so differently in this career.
And also I think like,
kind of like location does matter a lot because I was like,
I was in Wisconsin for like most of it.
Like I just moved to New York like two years ago.
Oh yeah.
And so it was like, I was in Wisconsin.
And like a big thing of mine was like,
I was like asking my manager.
I was like, when can I go to a premiere?
Like to me that was like I was like I made it
I get that
If I like went to a premiere
I was like when can I go to a premiere
And she's like okay so you live in Wisconsin
They don't throw those there
No not often
You gotta be somewhere
Like I would ask her every time I was like
The Five Nights at Freddy's movie
Can I go to that one?
And then she was like
No
She was like you have to be
And a coast and you're not
It does make a huge difference
I mean yeah
If you're there
It's just like kind of where this stuff is happening
But also I mean the job
You can do it anywhere, but if you want to go to those premieres, you got to, you got to make, you got to make the time to get out there.
What was your first premiere?
Oh my God.
We'll see.
And now I'm like, I don't know if I even know.
Like, one of that I was invited.
Well, my first premiere for a movie that I was in was first time female director by Chelsea Peretti.
If you can pull up a picture of me on the red carpet, you got to see what I was wearing.
I actually, I'll just, because I'll just describe it too.
So my hair was way shorter.
It was like curly, essentially, um, Annie style.
hair okay it was Annie style hair which I would love to preface this by saying like I
asked my hairdresser for a mullet she gave me I don't think she realized my hair would like
curl up when it yeah like shrink because it was like it was like kind of longer than this and it
gets like wavy but then when it was like it was like up here and then I was like oh it's New
York City like I'll just like go shopping like there and like find a piece to like wear or
something I was like it'll be so fun the places I go forever 21 urban outfiters and what I
purchase. Well, actually, no.
What I came, so I came to New York, I was like,
okay, I have a ribbed white
body suit as my base. I'll find the other
pieces. I was like, this will be fine.
Go to Forever 21. I get a long
denim skirt that's
what's it called, Ombre.
Right. Ambray from dark blue up to like
a light wash, whatever.
And then I'm with the white body suit. With the white
body suit tucked in.
And I have a mesh
orange, like
micro tiny crop that's like over
that I'm like, it's kind of just like a little piece to throw over.
Neon green platform crocs.
And you're in this movie.
I'm in this movie.
Like I threw paint on Kate Burland.
And I think I did it wrong.
I think I did it wrong.
I think I remember it causing like some drama on set where they were like, she threw it wrong.
And I was like, well, you're asking me to throw a bucket of paint on a woman.
This is my first role.
How many ways can I do that?
I guess the one way is hit her.
Hit her with the paint.
I missed her the first time.
And everyone was like, it's okay.
like, I'm ruining the movie. I was like, I'm ruining the movie. It does feel like that. When you do,
when you have small roles like that, it does feel like that. It feels like all of this is relying on
me. And I'm like 200th on the call sheet. Yeah. And also this was like the second day of shooting.
Everyone was like, we're kind of over this. Yeah. And I was like, I was like, I'm so excited to be
here. I was like, thank you guys for having me. And they're like, yep, we're almost done.
Just throw that, just let's try it throw in another. And the thing about paint is, you know,
it's paint. So yeah, you can't really reset that.
Not yet.
So I was like,
but yeah,
so check out that picture.
I look crazy.
I also look like so happy to be there,
which is sweet.
And that's what matters.
Yeah.
It's like we're happy to be there.
That's what matters.
But the body suit was up there.
I was watching the movie and I was like,
I have to unclip this.
But I can't unclip it because my skirt is so long.
Like I was like literally,
do you know your like vagina falls asleep?
Do,
am I familiar with that feeling?
I can't say I am.
I think it's happened.
It's happened a couple times like where I've been,
maybe if I was like riding something like a horse or something.
Maybe I would know a little bit more.
Interesting, because I feel like when you're riding a horse, like, that would be active.
Activated it.
Whereas, like, when you're something's asleep, you're kind of like.
You're talking about it being like choked to death.
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Oh, I see.
I was like, choke.
Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep.
Yeah, I was like, choked and I couldn't.
You to your own pussy, go to sleep, go to sleep.
Yes, yes.
I was like, shh, girl.
Your time will come on.
Down, girl.
I was like, and then at the end, I was like, Jesus.
I was like, we have to get out here.
This body suit's killing me.
So shout up to that.
I'm really looking for a stylist.
Really looking for a stylist, Jesus Christ.
I can't just keep wearing like Forever 21 micro mesh tops.
Honestly, I was like, honestly, I was styling myself too for a very long time.
And then I did get some stylists.
And then like the first one, she kind of was like scamming me.
So had to let her go.
And then the next one would ask me for gas money, which I found out after the fact was actually not a good thing.
Part of the rate.
Yeah, they would be like, can you keep.
And my rent.
Like literally, they.
be like, can you give me like 40 bucks to get there?
I mean, you have my outfit, so I guess.
I guess, like, I guess, yeah, I don't have anything to wear.
Yeah, you're kind of painting me in a corner.
Yeah, I guess, yeah, get over here.
Yeah, we'll figure something.
We'll talk about that.
Yeah, so I was, like, doing that too.
I was, like, going day of kind of thing, and I was like, uh-oh.
Yeah.
And when you're not, like, a size two, it's hard.
Oh, my God.
To source immediately.
Yeah.
And it's crazy how those Gettys, like,
Like when you see them, sometimes you're like, I'm seeing things I never in my life have seen.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
That's how you guys see me?
I, like, think I have body dysmorphia in like both ways.
Yeah.
Where it swings where I'm like, I look like, I look exactly like Dooley.
Like I'm not even like, and I'm telling you.
I like, I agree.
I mean that earnestly.
No, I agree.
I'll look in the mirror and I'll go.
I always think that.
That's what I was saying.
I feel that.
I have like, like, I have what's a, it's a fat.
roll. I have a fat roll here that I think in some shirts looks like abs. Like looks like abs peeking through.
I'm like, okay, my abs are peeking through today. Hot. And then other days, most of those times are when
I'm photographed by someone who's not myself. I go, I go, oh my God. Yeah. That's tough. That's what I think.
Where'd do it go? Where did do ago? She was just there in the mirror. That's so funny. Not that long ago.
I've like taken,
I've like joked about how
I love when I go to stuff
and they have like
carpet or Gettys
and then they just like
don't really want to take your picture
that's happened to me a few times
where like
what do you do you have to like
get them to take a picture?
I'll stand there and I'll be
and I'll do the like
but you could just tell
like when you walk up
they're like
oh kill me
like that's what they're kind of like
oh my god!
Like rolling their eye
yeah
all right to get it
Yeah. Hey, I'm on the list.
I'm just, you know, it's my job too.
They could care less, honestly.
So that was your first premiere that you were in.
Yeah.
Did you go to a premiere before that or was that your first premiere ever?
Because that's a really big flex is my point.
I think maybe that was your first premiere.
My first premiere, which and then you do realize like, oh, they're not as glamorous as you think.
No, not at all.
They're not really as like, I was like, oh, I was like, okay.
I guess I don't know.
I thought I was, I guess I was expecting like the men.
level and this was
no yeah when you go and see it
it's like that's kind of how it feels too
when you like go on like sets
and stuff too like they are magnificent
because you're like cool but the whole
process of it is like
is shit you just don't even realize it's a lot of sitting around
and waiting
it is I was like oh
this is different so yeah guys just remember
your dreams are never as they seem
yeah brass is not always greener
it's not always greener sometimes it's you know
plastic and it's like this
big and that's what you're getting your picture taken on and you thought it was like this big
you're like okay so this industry's dying yeah and yeah get that yeah uh this is like it's such a
stupid ass thing too but my very first premiere ever was the movie ambulance uh not not sure if you're
oh i think i actually saw a billboard of that i actually think i can vividly remember that because
i'm like that's a movie yeah just called ambulance yeah that's it yes ambulance ambulance that was my very
first premiere ever. I was. I also wore a Forever 21 dress. Okay. You can believe when I went there.
But I remember too, like afterwards, after I walked, it was like very like anti-climactic,
like you say. Like, it's kind of like, oh. And then you're just sitting in the theater for a
fucking hour. Like, you wait for the cast to come out and talk and then they show the movie. And I
remember when I was sitting, me and my husband were sitting behind Frankie Grande. And I remember
I just saw Frankie Grande and Titanic. Oh my gosh. I did. I did. Well, Titanic's incredible.
Yeah, I've heard nothing but amazing things about it.
And I have ran into Frankie Grande more times than you can believe.
I like, he and I have an invisible string.
Yes, yes, yes.
Like, he and I have something.
And I remember he was sitting right in front of me and he was talking to someone.
And then he was going, oh, girl, if you want to get your Gettys, you have to go on here.
And I watched him go on his phone and show her how to find herself on Gettie.
And that's how I know how to find myself on Gettie.
So Frankie Grande, thank you for that.
Shout out Frankie Grende.
Shout out Frankie Grende.
So I could see all the ugly pictures of myself.
Yeah.
Yeah, so I can see all the pictures that I wasn't going to post that.
Like, I can't, like, I was so excited.
I was like, it's my first premiere.
I go to the Getty thing, scroll all the way to the bottom.
Oh.
Like, I need you to put the picture up.
Like, I actually used to have, like, a highlight on my Instagram of, like, it was called
The Picture.
And I was like, it's time to let this go.
This doesn't have to define me anymore.
This isn't, like, this isn't, like, who I am anymore.
I'm bigger than this.
But, like, I'll send you guys it.
Don't worry.
Because it's like, who.
But you can tell she's, she's really happy.
She was really happy.
And she's in a movie.
And she's in a movie.
Period.
That's what she wanted.
Ultimately, this is the life we chose.
Yeah.
That's true.
The good and the bad.
The good and the bad.
Laura, did you send it to me?
Yes, you did.
Oh my God.
Grace, this is crazy.
Yeah.
The outfit I'm wearing, isn't that insane?
Grace, it's actually, it's actually worse than I thought.
Let me just remind myself.
Oh my God.
The pose is honestly,
Oh, I was jumping.
But the pose is distracting from the office
it's a good thing.
So you did great.
Is that what you were sort of picturing?
It's a gene?
It's a denim,
Ombres.
It was, but it's somehow,
it's, somehow it's worse, though.
And the haircut.
Look at the haircut.
Your hair looks real cute.
Oh, it does.
Okay.
I think your hair texture is really cute.
So I think your hair looks gray.
Okay.
It was just shorter than I wanted.
The shrug is a little confusing to me.
The orange shrug.
It looks like those African Nets.
Yes, yes, yes.
And then I was like, wait a second, let me put it on.
I know my back is buttery smooth.
Yeah, my back's buttery smooth.
I'm going to be front page on Getty.
Oh, God, yeah, I was just jumping around.
I was just, I was so, yeah, I was really happy.
I was really happy that day.
No, you look very happy.
That is so.
It comes up to you, though.
You look really happy.
You do.
You look, well, if you love it, I love it.
I know.
And that's why we're going to work.
Oh, this is the other one.
I can't
I'm still learning
Honestly I still take pictures like that
Like I still take pictures like
It's not you
I need to learn how to like
I haven't
I haven't figured out how to like
Smize or serve yet
Because I'm still kind of like
Should I just be like
You know what?
You know what I'll say
It's like I'll figure it out
I've walked a lot of those now
At this point
But like you're it really is something
You just learn as you
Yeah
You have to do a million of them
That's like the fucked up part
It's like you'll do
You'll do a million of them
and you'll be like, wow, I hate that, I hate that, I hate that.
Yeah, and then you'll be like, oh, hold the pee.
Yeah.
Hold the pee.
Like, you have a little, you're a little princess and you're holding a little pee and just sort of look down.
I love when you, like, when you see videos of people talking about men, like, monging like that in pictures, but they're like, they like suck in their, or put their tongue on like to give it a very, like, kind of.
I know.
I always forget to breathe.
Yeah.
I'm always like.
The worst is when it's a million bill.
billion degrees. That's like the worst.
Oh, God, I'm a sweater.
Me too. I'm a big sweater.
This upper lip is just gone.
Oh my God, me too. That's the first place that it's like there and my hairline.
So it drips down.
Oh, and then my, when I used to play softball, people would be like, are you crying?
And I'm like, no, because my sweat would just pile up here and then like drip down.
Oh my God.
And I'd be like, no, I'm just really, I'm sweating.
I'm working really hard.
Because I'm just really hard.
So I'm, looks like I'm crying.
And then like all the mascara falls.
and then so then I'm just like, okay, I'm just not going to wear makeup to these things.
Yeah.
And then I just, and then the flash catches all the other stuff.
And I'm like, okay, never mind.
Yeah, that's when I, I've worked the Oscars a few times and like that's the scariest
carpet.
Like to this day, that's the scariest carpet, even though I've walked it a few times now.
And it's because obviously there's 50 billion cameras and videos going at the same time.
But it's literally like as you pass them, they're uploading it.
So it's all going up live.
going up somewhere, going to Getty.
So it's like, you are done.
After you walk that, whatever you look like, make peace with it.
Yep.
Make peace with it.
Because that's it.
No touchups.
And if the touch up, you better do them right then and there.
That's why I'm bringing like the fan everywhere.
I'm bringing that little fan.
I'm like, I can't.
I always joke, especially when I wear carpets, I always bring my fan.
But I always joke, I bring an automatic and a manual.
So I bring like my electric and I bring like a traditional one too.
Because if it dies, then I have a backup.
Yeah.
Oh, and that thing's not dying.
I'm a big sweater too.
Yeah.
It's tough.
And by the way,
it's like 100, 200 degrees outside or something.
I got here and I was like, what's going on?
No, you came...
I got a sunburn instantly.
No, you literally came at like the most ungodly heat right now.
I couldn't believe how hot it was.
Like, and I live here, so...
Okay, so things are looking good.
Maybe it's because you're here.
Maybe it's...
I bring the heat.
Melissa McCarthy.
Wait, was it?
Right?
It was called heat.
Okay, cool, a callback.
Okay, callback.
Okay, when the callback lands.
I'm having trouble remembering things, so like, that's actually a win for me.
I have my recall.
I'm so happy you could do that for you.
It's bad.
I'll forget.
I'll forget most things.

Light your candles, draw your pentagrams, and prepare for a supreme surprise.
FX's American Horror Story.
813 premieres September 24th on FX and Hulu.
What came after TikTok?
Like, did you get a role?
Like, did you join improv?
Did you start doing sketch?
What did you start doing?
Yeah.
So, like, I was posting TikToks.
And, like, I actually think my first real gig was a virtual reality comedy show.
Like, they sent us, like, meta, like, virtual.
At the time, they were called, like, Oculus, whatever.
And I did, like, a virtual reality, like, show.
That is crazy.
So like that was kind of like...
What'd you do in the virtual reality show?
Like how?
Like, what were you doing in it?
It was like, it was called skits and giggles.
And I was just, it was like, it was a play.
And I was like a character in it.
And it was like, I was like a 50s housewife.
And my to, I was in love with my toaster.
And it was kind of for like the meta team to be like, what can we do in VR?
It was like some sort of experiment.
And then, I mean, well, you know, I don't, you haven't seen a comedy show in VR since.
So lucky to just, you know, I'm happy.
you guys from that.
I saved you guys from that.
Okay, don't worry.
You're welcome.
But it was fun.
It was fun.
And also it was like developmental.
So like at the time it could only like the world could only fit so many people in it.
So there's literally like three people watching it.
It's like because we have like all the cast and like the crew like hidden in the sky or what in the clouds like doing everything.
So it was like three people were there.
I was like okay.
But after that then I actually lived in LA for a little bit and I did this sketch group called Staples view.
So we did like sketches.
And then we did like a live stream element.
Like we had a live show kind of thing that was on TikTok.
And it was, yeah, like sketch like that.
And then move back home for a little bit.
And then American High reached out to me.
And then I went over there, which is like up in Syracuse, like upstate New York.
And we, which Caleb was in the pizza movie.
So he was up there.
So yeah.
So we were like up there and we did like some sketches.
And then they also like make movies.
so I was like,
I was like,
bartender in their movie
and video game employee.
And then,
yeah,
yeah.
How do you like,
like, what's your favorite medium of comedy?
If you had to pick,
like,
sketch,
acting,
you know,
doing your own videos,
like your own kind of thing.
I feel like improv's nice
because I feel like there's no,
like,
I feel like when I do a show
where it's like my characters,
I get stressed because I'm like,
oh my gosh,
I have to rehearse
and I have to hit the specific
things whereas improv I'm like well if it's funny it's funny and then if it's not whatever I just like
I literally just showed up and we're doing this now type of thing so that feels kind of fun and you go on the
move like it's not pre-planned really yeah so that feels kind of nice where it's like I don't know let's
just like go and I guess see what happens yeah so but I don't know probably probably sketch probably
sketch and then improv is like that's okay yeah I love that about well how do you like writing
because I know you're you're clearly a writer too so how do you like writing is it fun for you
or are you learning to love it more writing writing writing is hard it is hard it is hard it is hard it is
hard. It's really fucking hard. I've come to find that out as well. Yeah. Are you writing something now? Yeah. I'm writing a TV show actually. Oh, yeah. Bless. Okay. Slay. We're writing a show right now actually. Oh my gosh. And it is it is difficult. Yeah. Oh my gosh. That's awesome. So I'm curious to know how you're feeling because obviously. Obviously, the Hunger Games thing is is a spoof obviously. Yeah. But it is still writing and it was so funny. Well, that was that was improv though. Yeah. Oh, that was all improv. It was improv. It was just like we shot listening.
the whole thing and was like, okay, and also he told everyone watched the movie before,
but it was just kind of like, what happens in this scene and where do we kind of end?
And then it was just kind of like, we just improv.
Oh, that's even cooler.
But that sketch group, the same people that were in the Hunger Games.
Yeah.
We made a show called Minimum Wage.
Yes.
In the winter.
So that we wrote, that is hard.
Yeah.
Because also like all my friends like went to school for that.
And then I just like sort of like fell into it.
And I was like, so I feel like imposter.
Yeah.
I feel that way too.
I'm like imposter syndrome.
so hard because I'm like, oh, they have degrees in this.
I'm like, but it's nice because...
That's why I feel talking to Amanda when we write.
Yeah. Oh, my God. I feel like a big dumbass when I'm writing with her because she knows all these terms and I don't know any of them.
Yes, they're talking like plot. I'm kind of like more like the riffing in someone's town there type.
Yes, I'm like, I don't know. I'm kind of like that.
There was one episode that felt like really good. Like that kind of like came to me like the prom episode I wrote.
And it was like really silly and fun. And that one I was like, oh my gosh.
So it was the first time I was like, I feel proud about this.
Yeah.
And I was like, this is good.
I think it's just, it's so hard.
It's, it's, I think the hardest part is, I mean, not to be cliche, is starting, the starting part.
Yeah, it's true.
And once you get in and you're like, okay, whatever.
Yeah.
And it's like, I think to, for some reason I feel like in my head, I was thinking that my
TikTok videos that I make where I'm like improving essentially jokes on the fly or here on the show or whatever.
It's more so just based in improv.
So I'm like, oh, well, whatever happens happens.
like you were saying.
Yeah.
Whereas like writing it, I feel like there's like,
well, it has to be funny.
Like that's what I keep thinking.
Whereas like, when I'm an improv,
I just know I'm funny, so I'm sure I'll get there.
That's what I always think of like, I'll get there.
Well, and I'm sure that happens while you're writing too.
I'm like, I've never like, my one friend who also does like character stuff,
she was like, I can't write stand-up.
She's like, I don't know how to write a joke.
And I was like, oh my God.
And she's really funny and she's a comedian.
And I was like, thank God someone else said that.
because literally I'm like,
I was like, stand-up.
I'm like, I have no idea.
Yeah, stand-up for me was one of those things
where it was almost like,
you should try stand-up.
And then I was like, well, I don't want to be like
every other dude who makes jokes on the internet
that goes, I should go workshop this at the last time.
Sure, yeah.
So I was like, I didn't want to be like that guy,
but I also love stand-up and I also felt the same way.
And then when I talked to Caleb about it,
he was like, you are essentially writing jokes.
Like when you riff like that, you're writing jokes.
Like, you just got to write it down.
But even I found when I tried stand up, because I tried it and I did it, I did well.
Like it was like, they laughed, which is the goal.
Yep.
You got, you got them.
But I obviously there was a lot of room to improve, I'm sure.
But I felt very like almost like confined by it because obviously you, you can like deviate a little bit, but you really got to stick to what you prepared so that you have a cohesive, however much time, five, 10, 15 hour.
And I felt so like, I felt like it was mostly just memorizing.
and that doesn't make you feel that funny.
It's theater.
Right at that point.
Theater.
You're like an actor.
You're just on stage,
like, hitting your,
yeah, I don't know.
That's how I felt when I did it.
And I think that's maybe why I was kind of like,
I think I'd rather act and write.
Sure, yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
Stand up, like, it's so intimidating.
I like characters because I think naturally I'm just more inclined to be like bigger and
sillier and wacky and like absurd.
And I feel like that lends itself to characters.
maybe more than stand-up, but I don't know.
I also, like, wasn't really like,
watch stand-up, if I'm being honest.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, I mean, I live in New York, so, like, I go sometimes,
but, like, I was never, like, watching people's specials
or, like, anything like that.
I was like, no.
Yeah, I told one of my friends, I was like, I just, like,
I have so much respect for stand-up.
I love stand-up, and so, like, I don't want to be one of those guys
that just takes up fucking air for the sake of it,
like, because I have the platform, let me go tell some jokes on stage.
Yeah.
And one of my friends, who's a comic,
she was like, I think it's awesome that you have respect for it like that.
You're kind of like, I know my place.
But then also a part of me is like, well, more women should do it for sure.
I'm like, you don't have to.
That's literally.
I'm like, you don't have to think like that maybe.
More white guys need that.
Yeah.
If more men could sort of think in that way.
Yeah.
But like, that's like what my therapist has been telling me a lot.
She's like, okay, but what a man thinks like?
And then I'm like, oh, damn it.
I'm like, you're right.
She's like, would a man be feeling this guilty all the time?
No, for real.
No.
he wouldn't you know what you're right
I'm like what is this guilt why is it always here
no yeah no I would if if I would
thank God I sing the Beyonce one and not the Taylor Swift one if I were
the man I was like who
I was it yeah yeah yeah
because I'll be the man
okay here we go I just had to I had to get it out
I got one for you guys I had to get it out I'm a swiftly
I'm a swiftly too yeah
thank God well I'm glad to hear we have similar
sentiments to it yeah
We respect the art of stand-up so much.
And then also I feel, and we also kind of feel like where I'm like,
I think I could be funny or another mediums.
That's how I feel.
Yeah.
I'm like, I'm sure I would do fine, but like, I want to act.
Yeah.
And I get what you mean about characters for like what you were saying.
Like, that's where you feel like your biggest and silliest.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And that, I think that's very common for a lot of actors.
Like, I know Kristen Wigg, like, she's really shy in real life.
Oh, really?
But she loves to act in characters.
Like, that's like her thing.
So, like, that makes sense.
she was shy in person.
You're going to be a legend.
Oh my God.
I'm so shy as thought.
I really am.
Oh my God.
Me too.
Me too.
Me too.
I know.
Sometimes I'm like, oh my gosh.
Do I have to be funny all the time?
I'm like, sometimes I'm really quiet.
Sometimes when I'm home, I'm really quiet actually.
And I'm like, fuck.
I know.
I feel the same line.
Stars are just like us.
I'm like shit.
I'm just going to all the time.
I used to think that too when I would sometimes see celebrities talk about that and they're like,
I actually like I'm so shy and like I don't even really like talking to anyone.
And I'm like, okay, well,
I want to do that.
I do like talking to everyone and I'm not shy.
Shit.
What am I going to be then?
Okay.
And then you start pretending you're shy.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm just so,
I'm just so not mysterious,
like at all.
There's something mysterious about me.
Oh, I, yeah, I'm, I very much am like,
okay, should I go the Zendaya route where I like,
I don't share anything at all.
And I'm just like posting like the picture, the, the Getty pictures.
Yeah, my Bulgari ads.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. This is my smart water ad.
Yeah, yeah, for real.
I'm like, should I just do that or do I share like everything?
It's so like, I don't know.
I don't know.
Yeah, it is one of those things.
I do you do whatever you want.
I do think, I think it's evolving too.
I think that's why a lot of people online love like influencer people or like TikTok people
because they feel like they know us or they feel like there's this level of like access to us
that's like that you don't get with a Zendaya or like a Beyonce or someone who's super, super, super famous.
Yeah.
And I'm sure you know this now.
too, like when you meet a lot of these celebrities too, especially if they've been in the game
for a while, sometimes when you talk to them, like, before cameras roll, they're like really
normal and very nice. As soon as that shit turns on, they get weird. Like, they turn lobotomized
almost. Oh, really? Oh, wait. You're talking like for interviews specifically? Or like...
Yeah, like interviews. Like more so, like they turn it on. Like, it's almost like, okay, no more...
Like, their PR training or something? Yeah, like, there's not a ton of personality. It's very, like, yes.
Like it's very polite and like awesome.
Like awesome, awesome.
Yeah, it's very curated.
And awesome.
And awesome.
Yeah.
And then it's like you can't take anything from that.
Like it's all good stuff.
Oh, right.
And that's like, where did we were riffing before?
Yeah.
That's kind of how I felt sometimes when I talked to some stars, which like, I'll tell you one.
Like when I interviewed when I interviewed.
Okay.
And I interviewed them from a.
Okay.
Yeah.
And they were lovely and amazing.
but she was extra fun and super lovely and amazing.
And she came in early.
He was like a couple, like 10 minutes late.
And she sat with me.
That bitch was king with me.
Like she was like, I love your two chums.
I love those.
I look he thought she wanted to get in my pants.
So I like like, I was like, I felt that.
And I meant like in a very like, I know you.
I know you kind of level.
That's how she felt to me.
And I was like, oh my God, how fun.
I did not think you're going to be like this.
As soon as that camera turned on, it was like, mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah, so it was kind of, it was a letdown in that regard because I only in the sense that I was like, that sucks that you have to do that.
I get why you do that.
Where it's like, oh, this is my protection.
Performance kind of thing.
Yeah, I was like, that sucks.
Yeah.
That sucks that you have to do that.
And I remember too when we left, my friend Carrie was with me.
And when we left, she was like taking pictures of us and videos like behind the scenes kind of thing.
And then her manager or something texts Carrie and was like, can you make sure that anything.
if she was like, because she was using one of those wisps to brush her teeth, you know, like,
when they used it to clean your mouth really fast.
She was using one, but this is just a fun fact.
It was in his mouth first.
And he was like, she said, can I use that too?
And he said, yeah.
So she was using it because they were both drinking coffee, whatever.
Yeah.
And then she was like, can you just make sure any content with her using that thing?
Can you not put it anywhere?
Because it was seen in his mouth or something?
I have no idea.
I don't know if it's just because she looked human for a second and that's not allowed.
Oh, sure.
Like it felt like, it felt like, I don't want to.
anyone seeing her put toothbrushes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They have to think their veneers. They're perfect.
She's not brushing those things or cleaning them.
Just so the public knows there's no maintenance that she is doing on these.
Right.
She has her team.
That's why I was thinking it just gets to that level where I was like, damn, that sucks.
Yeah.
It feels like I don't want to feel like like Kate Middleton.
You know what I mean?
I don't feel like I'm locked away.
True.
And I have to act.
So I think we're striking a balance, you and I.
We're striking a balance.
We're oversharing a ton.
Yeah.
think we're striking that balance.
Yeah. We're striking that balance where it's like we're going to clean our teeth and they'll see that.
We're human.
I know.
That's interesting like the whole other like actor world of that level.
Of that level.
Yeah.
Of like I guess that part of acting.
Like the A list.
Yeah.
It's like that that comes with it, I guess, the territory, which I was like, I don't like that.
Yeah.
So I think I still want to look human.
I don't need to let them in on everything.
But I think I still want to look human.
Right.
Right.
They can know like I fart and stuff.
Yeah.
I'm cool with it.
I'm cool if they know that.
I'm cool if they know that and we don't have to like cut the content around that.
Well, maybe, depending on, I guess maybe actually.
Depending on how insecure.
Maybe actually.
Actually, we don't have to keep that.
Okay, so what's like a big dream you have?
Like, outside of what you've already done.
Like, this is, I always say this is where we manifest dreams.
Okay.
I've made many dreams come true in that chair.
I believe it.
I really believe it.
You have a power.
You have a power.
Okay.
Oh my gosh.
My dream.
Yeah.
If you have any big dreams and entertainment, movies, TV shows, plays, whatever it may be.
Oh my gosh.
Okay.
I think like big dream, I would, I mean, I would like love to make a real movie, like an actual real.
Not a spoof, not a parody.
I mean, but the parody, I mean, hopefully I can make those for like ever.
Because they're so fun they take three days.
But yeah, I guess like a big movie.
And I would love to do like an actual like just earnest real like sci-fi move.
because I love like world building and like yeah like like other games kind of thing
yeah like dune dune i want to do like a dune i want to do like a dune i love um deni velanue
or velinue or vela i don't know he's like french canadian i don't know i'm not sure i'm
i'm really not sure it's like vela nuvela novella novel noueva something like um something
like that love that guy love blade runner and stuff like something really like high concept
and like weird.
That's really fucking cool.
Sci-fi.
Yeah, but then I'm like,
oh, fuck.
Then I'm like, what is it?
Because like, Dune is all, like, politics and religion.
And I'm like, I don't know that.
Yeah, like, what I do not know that stuff?
Like a, would you do, hmm, I'm trying to think.
I know, like, in a world where like.
Like Star Wars or something or like Lord of the Rings, like House of the Dragon?
Like, would you go that way?
Or do you like more of the futuristic stuff?
I think I'm like more of the futuristic stuff.
And kind of like...
Well, The Hunger Games is being reignited.
So let's cross our fingers for maybe.
Maybe they'll let me direct the next.
And so I know there's gonna be...
I feel like there has to be a third one.
They had like the Sunrise on.
Yeah, there's gonna be another trilogy.
Yeah.
Maybe they'll let me direct the last one.
Just be like, well, let's give her a chance.
How do you feel about directing?
Like, do you like directing or would you rather act?
I like directing.
I don't like directing and acting at the same time because I'm kind of like...
It's like lost in translation sometimes.
and I feel like so it's like hard to like keep up that was like our show minimum wage everyone we
when we wrote an episode we directed it and so it's kind of hard when you're also like acting in it
and also like we had like a very limited like we're just quick with the production so it was like we
couldn't really sit there and like you know really study the monitor and be like okay that's good
whatever so like but there was one day where I could do that and I was like that was really fun and like
micromanaging everything and just really getting in there and saying you're saying this specific
word wrong. I need to go up at the end.
That's cool. I love that you want to direct.
I think that's amazing. Yeah. Directing's fun
but like
I feel like acting is the main game. I was going to say
your star. You got to be on.
You got to be on screen. I love and then I'm also
like I am a princess like I
want to be treated like a princess and like
when you're on set it's like oh my gosh.
I feel bad.
I'm like I feel really bad but like
this is nice.
I'm like this is really good. They're always like
are you okay? I'm like yeah.
actually okay now.
Yeah, I did a commercial, like a commercial spot for Gillette and we worked in Miami.
I was like filmed it in Miami.
And I remember when we were on set, like, because I've done a couple of those before,
but this was like the first one I did on like a beach.
Like it was like at a different location.
It wasn't inside a studio or anything.
And I like remember walking up to set.
They had like they had one person whose job was to hold the umbrella over me the whole time.
And I felt so bad.
Every time I was like, I can just hold it.
I know.
She goes, it's okay.
It's my job.
And I was like, I know, they always say that.
They always say that.
They're like, I'm supposed to do it.
And then I'm like, okay, fine.
Well, they're fucking fine.
I'm like, okay, fine.
Hold the umbrella and also could you rub my feet?
Okay.
And I would love a beverage.
Yeah.
If you're asking, if you're getting up and you're getting staff.
If you're asking.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, yeah, if you're going to go, if you're going all the way out there,
maybe a water bottle and put the straw in the thing.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I guess.
And then I've also been like, and I was on a.
like an extra in a show, but I had like lines and like a really big show.
And that put me at like I think number 450,000 on the call sheet.
I'm like I'm so low.
It's not even funny because it's the most A-list talent ever.
And I've also been that person and that person also sucks in a different way.
That does suck in a different way.
But that's still fun.
The experience is still so fun.
But it's like it's funny how it differs.
Because when I did that, I sat and like picked my ass for eight hours.
I was literally sitting at a table for like eight.
hours before they called me.
Yeah.
You're like, oh, you need me now?
Okay.
And I'm in the same outfit from yesterday.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's stinky.
I had to wear the exact same outfit today.
Oh, right, because this was background extra?
This was like your clothes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So they literally told me, bring your own clothes.
They made me take pictures in my own clothes.
And then they were like that one.
And then I had to wear the exact same thing like I say.
And do my hair and make up the exact same way.
Yeah.
It's really interesting because like, I knew nothing of the industry before.
So it's like all the behind the scene stuff.
I'm like,
Oh, this is how you guys do it.
I'm like, oh, it's really not that.
You're so, you're me too, because I'm one of those people that, when that happens,
I'm like, movie magic.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Movie magic, she wants me to take a picture of my clothes and send it and email it to her.
So this is how the sausage gets made.
A lot of Google Drive links.
A lot of Google Drive links.
They do set a lot of, yeah.
Sorry, it's files too big.
I'm like, yeah, can you believe they're putting that shit in Google Drive?
I know.
Well, that's why when Charlie XXXX is saying that you want to guess.
the password to my Google, right?
Doesn't she not say Google Drive?
I was like, and Charlie's using Google Drive.
Can you believe it?
Everyone's using it.
Everyone's using Google Drive.
Hey, y'all, this episode is brought to you by Sephora.
Some days, I barely want any coverage at all.
I just want my skin to look like my skin, girl, just a little more even.
That's when I've been reaching for the merit minimalist stick.
It's a foundation and concealer stick in one.
so it's super easy to throw on when I'm running errands, grabbing coffee, or meeting up with friends.
It gives me that really natural skin-like finish without feeling heavy.
But when I'm filming, going to an event, or I just want a full glam moment,
I need a concealer that's actually going to show up.
So the hourglass vanish concealer is when I always reach for because it gives me that full coverage, airbrushed finish.
I also know I'm not the only person who struggle to find the right concealer shade.
It can be so frustrating trying to guess what it'll actually.
work for you. That's why I always shop at Sephora. They have the best brands all in one place with so many shades
coverage levels and finishes so you can actually find what works for you. And if you need help,
Sephora makes it super easy with expert beauty advisors, free samples and shade matching tools both online and in store.
So whether you're looking for barely their coverage or full glam,
Sephora can help you find your match. When I was writing my book, my first book, I remember when I was writing it initially we were
doing it in Google Drive.
Like we were just sending it back and forth like that.
Then when I sold my fiction books, I started right.
We started it in there.
And then my publisher was like, and please take it out of Google Drive.
Like that's so easy for people to get into Google Drive.
We're like, oh.
Oh, my God.
I didn't know that.
And you're still on Google Drive?
Okay.
Yeah, but you're right.
So what are they on Word?
Yeah, we're on Word doing track changes on Word.
Track changes.
Yeah.
That's that's literary terms.
No, it's like a little option on
And it just literally like underlines where you make changes
And it puts little like annotations
Oh, you're tracking change gotcha
Gotcha
Okay, we're tracking, yeah
Okay, cool, got it
That's how that works are made
Woo
I have kind of a random question for you
Were you a fan girl?
So here's the thing
I don't like let myself enjoy anything
Okay, well let's work on that
I know so I
Except an amusement park?
Except like I'm getting I'm like now I'm like okay no I'm a fan girl I think I'm like I think I grew up and I was like I'm not like other girls type of thing and like like Justin Bieber I was like no and then Harry style well he's part of one direction then one direction came around I was like no and I think I'm very much like I have to be like different than everyone right and then I was like oh and then also I didn't really read I didn't really read I didn't not read a lot I did not read those Hunger Games books what were you doing I was playing the Sims I was literally oh so I guess I'm a fan girl in this
Yeah, I do love the Sims.
Yes.
I was learning Sims 3 all the time.
I love Sims 3.
Yeah.
That's what I was into.
I was into pets.
I wanted to get like the unicorn.
And that's literally what I was doing.
But like now I think I'm like, I'm like, okay, I'm becoming a fan.
You're re-experiencing stuff.
I'm like letting myself be like.
That's fun.
Like I think now I have a celebrity crush.
Whereas before I was like, I wouldn't even let myself have a celebrity crush because I'm like,
no.
I would never.
like me. Grace. I know. I was like, I don't know. Well, now I'm even glad. I'm even more glad you're
in that chair. Yeah. I was like, me. And then I'd be like, oh my God. Or I would be very like practical
about the crush. Like I really liked Miles Teller. I thought he was really cute from Divergent.
Right. And then I was like, by the way, he's evil in those movies. By the way. He's the worst. He's the worst.
He's awful. But I was like, I like his nose.
I was like his nose is really
He's cute
Yeah
I like his nose
And then um
Oh yeah
Then I found out who's married
And I was like
Well
There it goes
I was like
I'm like I'm like very
I'm like very like
Who can I'm like
It's like I have to be able to pursue them
Or have a crush on them
I'm like I don't know
So I like never had
An answer
But I'm like now I'm like letting myself
I'm like now you're letting yourself
Experience that whimsy
Yes experience that whimsy
Yeah
Just being like crazy
because I'm so rigid.
I'm rigid and shy in my normal life.
And honestly, like, I say this a lot to, like, my girlfriends, I've said it forever, but also now online.
But, like, you can gaslight yourself into any belief.
And, like, when I, I've talked about not having celebrity crushes many times before.
But when I talk about it, I literally say I don't have any because I genuinely believe, with my whole heart, I could get anybody I wanted.
Oh, I need that.
I need that.
I need that.
And you have, you're right there.
access to it because you have the you have the gift of like confidence in you in
the sense of your abilities like you were so you know you're funny you know you're
talented yeah and like at least most of the time yeah yeah when you're not feeling
down on yourself but that's why you could easily transfer that to this where do you
think you got your confidence from I think for me I think it was innate in in some
ways but I think a lot of it was like how I was raised so as I was when I was growing up
because my sister is not like was not like me at all in that regard like my
sister's very shy
and very introverted.
Like, she was the complete opposite of me.
And I'm younger than her.
But I think when I was born, like, I was so myself, and I think my parents encouraged
it.
Like, they never really, like, tried to make me dim a little bit or be like, oh, well, not
everyone likes that.
Like, my mom let me dress however the fuck I wanted when I was a kid, like, really young.
She let me do whatever I wanted in terms of expressing myself.
Like, if I, like, something I tell a lot on the show is, like, in fifth grade,
we had to do a project, like a wax figure project.
And so we had to pick someone we admire in history.
I can't stress that enough.
It had to be someone you admire.
I do not admire this person.
That's just who I picked.
And I still am unpacking why.
But like I picked King George the third.
And I was the, he's the worst British monarch in their history.
Oh, okay.
And I think I picked him because I was like, wow, this hubris is just out of control.
That's my theory now.
But I really couldn't tell you why I picked him.
Or maybe like his outfits or something.
Yeah.
Like I have no idea.
I just thought it was fascinating that he had.
had all of this shit handed to him on a silver platter and ruined it all.
Like, I think that's what I thought was interesting about him.
Yeah, like, how did you fuck this up so bad?
Yeah, how could you have possibly, this is such the layup of a century?
Yeah, you'd literally do anything.
At all.
You'd have to do anything.
No, for real.
And everything you did made it work.
Yeah, like genuinely worse for history.
Yeah.
Time to come.
And I remember at the time, I was the only girl who cross-dressed and I was the only
girl who wanted to be a boy.
And I was like very adamant about doing it.
And my teacher called my mom and was like, I really think maybe she should pick
someone else like it's supposed to be someone you admire whatever my mom was like is it against the
rules or like offensive and she was like no and she's then let her do it who cares yeah and so then my
mom like dressed me up like a boy I was like so adamant about how I wanted to look and then I went
to school fully in drag I was in drag mama head to toe I talked in a British accent all fucking day
yeah and then I prepare you have to prepare for a big show method acting yeah and I remember like
it's shit like that like throughout my life that my parents were like sure they only point to and be
Yeah, my parents were like, yeah, why not?
And I just always thought it was awesome.
Like, I was like, I'm so awesome.
Like, I'm so awesome.
Like, that's what...
Oh, fuck.
Yeah, fuck.
It really, well, and it's like, it's like you can tell yourself anything and it can be true.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, words are so powerful, especially the ones we say to ourselves.
Like, I always, I truly believe the ones you say to yourself when you're alone and, like, no one can hear you are like the ones that have the most profound impact on you.
Oh, my gosh.
And I used to joke because I was a huge joke.
Jonas brother girl when I was a kid.
Nick was my favorite.
Yeah.
It was a Nick girl.
And I used to always tell myself, God, when I meet him, like, obviously he's going to love
me, but like, what if I hate him?
Like, I would have that?
What the fuck?
Like, and that's the thing is, like, thoughts are, like, you could just do that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, well, that's the, that's the craziest part.
And I think women are never, like, historically and societally speaking, we're never given
the space to, like, have that thought.
Yeah.
Or private.
let alone entertain it, like, and believe it.
Like, so it's like, you think like, oh, I can just think that.
Like, I could because who's going to prove me wrong?
Him?
Is he going to come tell me?
Yeah.
No, he's not.
Like, I would think that too, but that would also be like, but you don't know.
Yeah.
Because it's true.
Because you'll meet him and you're not going to like him.
Yeah.
You're going to meet him.
You're going to be like, I honestly think he was my favorite because I had a feeling
he was the only one that was going to end up with a minority girl and I was right.
So.
Oh, my God.
So, close that.
Oh, my God.
Holy shit.
I knew in my spirit that he fucked with round girls.
I knew it.
Have you predicted anything else?
Yes, I have it.
I'm glad you asked.
Something recent?
It was nothing recent, but I did tell Chuck Temean tell this story and she said it was
fucking stupid, but I don't care.
But I literally, when I was a kid, I felt like I read Dear John.
Okay, dear John.
It's a book that I didn't read.
Yeah, by Nicholas Sparks.
Either way.
Oh, okay, okay.
It was Nicholas Sparks book.
Yes.
But either way, when I read it, I had just seen the movie step.
up and I was like wow a jarhead a jarhead military guy I was like reading it in my head I was
picturing I was like oh maybe Channing Tatum from Step Up fast forward 10 years later who placed him in
the movie adaptation opposite and Amanda Seyfried Channing Tatum you're welcome Channing Tatum
you trust him yeah in that film oh when I read the when I read the twilight books yeah I listened to
only paramour's music because I felt like it matched the vibe when the first movie came out who made a
specifically for Twilight.
Yeah.
Miss Paramar Decode.
Yeah, and that happened again
with 50 Shades of Grey.
You were like the weekend?
No, not the weekend, Sia.
Because Sia made music for like the second or third one.
I forget.
She made like a song for one of them.
And I only listened to Sia when I read those terrible books.
And when I read those books, I was like,
wow, Sia, that's such a good vibe.
And guess who made music for it?
Okay, so you're a curator.
You're a producer.
I'm a vibe curator.
You're a vibe curator.
You know, you're like, I can see this.
You have synesthesia soundtracks and actors.
Me and Billy Elish, obviously are me both musically inclined.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, you know, I mean, you can win an Oscar for casting now.
So get in there.
I'm owed a lot of royalties.
Yes.
I would say, a lot of commissions, I would say.
Well, that's awesome that you're just like thinking that stuff all the time.
I'm like, yeah, I should.
That's the phase you're entering.
I'm going to manifest that for you.
Okay.
That's what I would like to leave this chair with.
Is that instead of like my science fiction movie, whatever.
Which will happen too.
Sure.
But more importantly, I'm like, let's think positive.
I'm at the point right now where I'm like, well, technically thoughts aren't real.
And some of these thoughts I'm having maybe aren't even my own.
Yeah.
And they're just like programmed from some whatever.
And I've just like been saying them.
Yeah.
So I'm at the point where I'm like, okay, let's like wipe the slate clean.
Some thoughts aren't even mine.
Yeah.
And some thoughts are not even.
It's true.
Yeah.
It's very true.
And then I start putting in good thoughts.
Yeah.
And it's like, well, if I can think this, I can think the opposite of it too.
Yes.
know what I mean? Like it's, I, I said this to my, my friend and she was like, that literally blew
my mind to the point where I like, I've like held it for a while. But like, we were talking
about first dates. And she was like, oh, I'm nervous about going on a first date, whatever.
And I was, I was telling her, well, you know, like, I always tell my friends, like, when
they go on first dates, like, just remember, like, they also have to impress you. Yes.
Because women especially always go into it thinking, like, well, I hope they think I'm funny and
smart and intuitive and kind and I hope they think all these wonderful things about me.
I hope they don't think I'm weird or ugly or whatever.
But you don't ever go in going, I hope that they're what I thought they're going to be.
I hope that they're like up to par.
Yeah.
So it's like as much as like you want to make a good impression, they also have to want to make
a good impression.
Yeah.
And she was like, I just like I had never thought of that way.
It's like you're going in for a job interview and you're not.
No.
This is not an obligatory thing we're doing.
Like I'm entering into this because I hope you don't suck.
if you do, that sucks for you.
Yeah, because you want to.
Yeah.
Like, you're like, I'm doing this because I hope it turns out well.
Yeah.
And then I guess we'll see if you meet my standards.
Yeah.
I'm hoping I meet a guy who, like, doesn't want to touch me for like a whole month.
I'm like, that's fair.
I'm like, don't touch me for a whole month.
That's fair.
We'll work up to that.
When I, when I first started dating my husband, I did, we didn't have a first kiss.
I think we went on like five or six dates and we didn't kiss at all.
Yeah.
Oh, see.
Okay.
Okay.
And we didn't kiss at all.
And that was not for, not for lack of him trying.
literally just every time he pulled up to the house, I was like, okay, bye, and I got out and
slammed the door.
Really?
Yeah, because I was getting uncomfortable.
I was getting nervous.
Oh, you're getting nervous.
It just felt real.
Not right now, right now, right now.
No, that'll be me.
I'm like, I went on a date recently where a guy, like, he, like, just touched my,
like, like, he just touched my, like, what the fuck?
I was like, I literally, I was like, oh, my God, I was like.
Like you're in Victorian times?
The first thing I told him, I was like, sorry if I'm sweaty.
I was like, sorry it's really hot out.
And he was like, oh, ha ha, yeah.
I was like, yeah, we got to work on that, girl.
We got to work on that.
And then after, oh my God, I can't even, I don't even know if I even want to say it.
I don't know the next part.
And then I go, sorry, I'm new to dating.
I just, I'm a little nervous.
And then he was like, he was like, that's okay.
I appreciate you being honest.
And I was like, I got to leave.
I was like, I got to leave.
Did he text me back?
Nope.
No, which is fine, which is fine.
Because I was also like, I don't, like.
I was saying, I was saying.
that all to you feeling like you had to say that.
Not to him.
Fuck him.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, cool.
No, he was like, it was all like, all and all like that.
No, he was very sweet about it.
It was a nice day.
It was a nice day.
It was fine.
I was just like, whoa, I don't know if I'm ready for that.
And it was the knee.
He touched my leg.
And I was like, and I was like, and I was like, oh my God.
I was like, what are you trying to do?
What are we?
Yeah.
I was really like, please stop touching me.
I was like, what are doing?
I know.
I was like, great.
A couple of there.
Look, okay.
she's counting how many glasses I have had.
So my house are yours.
Yeah.
He was like, yeah, I love the studio.
I was like, oh my God, he wants to fuck me.
He wants to fuck me.
And I was like, I can't.
I have to do shit tomorrow.
I have what I've described as like borderline delusional confidence.
But it depends on who you ask.
Like it's and it's all subjective.
You know what I mean?
That's what I talk about attractiveness to.
I'm like, it's all subjective.
It depends.
To some people, I'm so.
to some people I'm so beautiful, to some people I'm fat, to some people I'm not, it really just
depends. It really is. Depends on who you ask. And honestly, I don't care. Either way,
what other people think, you know what I mean. So it's like, I think, I think for you,
more than anything, like, I think what I would love for you is to understand just how amazing
you are. Well, thank you. Because I just met you, but you are incredible. Like, you are so talented
and you are so bright. And you do have, you do have a very bright light about you, which is very
naturally intimidating to men anyways.
Like that's already very overwhelming to a lot of men.
That's the term that I'm like, ugh,
intimidating.
Well, and intimidation doesn't necessarily mean afraid.
And a lot of times it can make men irritated and irritable.
Like some men get very intimidated in a way where they lash out in it and they get annoyed.
Because it's like maybe like an envy thing of like, oh, I wish I had your.
Yeah.
Or it's like a, I think it's like not, it could be that.
I think part of sometimes it is that.
I think sometimes it's men just feel.
like they don't feel that confident about themselves.
So they would like you to not feel that confident about yourself.
It's almost like when men react that way, it's really like a,
they feel lesser than, they need you to feel lesser than them
because they already don't feel good enough.
So when you're overwhelmingly confident and you meet a not confident man,
if they don't run away, what they'll try to do is make you not confident to.
Like, so they just neg you more than anything.
And they try to, like, you ever met a man that you can tell, like,
they don't like that you're funny or they're,
than them just naturally.
Yeah.
I'm sure you have.
Or just like, yeah, I think that's like,
because growing up I had a lot of like female friends and like recently coming into this
industry.
I'm like, most of my friends are like men now and I'm like, how did this happen so quickly?
And like, they're, and even comedians sometimes it's so hard to tell.
I'm like, are you being mean to me or are we joking?
And I literally, I can't tell.
Yeah.
So like, yeah, I'm like, I don't.
And it is one of those things.
You see how women like when they talk.
I saw someone talk about this, like the science of talking between women, women talking to each other and men talking to each other.
Whereas like when men talk to each other, they do this almost like competition thing.
Interesting.
The way they talk, it's like measuring stuff.
Like they're like, oh, what do you do for work?
Oh, I do this.
Oh, I work out this many times.
I do this, whatever.
And it's not really to learn more about the other person, but just to compare where we're both.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's just to kind of like dick measure.
Whereas like when women talk to each other, it's connection.
Like they're looking for connection.
So when someone's like if I'm telling you like, oh, I like this kind of food, you're like, oh my God, I've had that food before.
Like that's how women converse with each other.
Right.
And men are always competing in some way, like when they talk.
So when you talk about male comics, like straight male comics, like it feels like you're like playing tennis.
Like sometimes you're like, why does this feel exhausting talking to you?
Oh my gosh.
Can we just connect or are we competing?
I'm feeling seen.
Yeah.
I'm feeling seen.
I'm like, yeah, because I'm like, gosh, it's.
been feeling so hostile.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm like, I'm like, and then I feel,
and then I'm like, are you guys making fun of me right now in front of my face?
Yeah, and sometimes they are.
Like, and they just, and they think, and you know, but you're like,
well, no one would do that to my face.
That's what you're telling yourself?
I'm like, oh, I guess maybe I'm not that good at reading social.
But do you see how like women are so much smarter that they've 360ed the fucking room?
They're like, okay, so clearly you're feeling some type of way,
but I don't want to think that you would ever make fun of me in front of me.
Like you're having that conversation with yourself and he's just going,
jab, jab, jab, jab, jab at you.
So, what I mean?
So it is like a, it's an ego thing.
Like they, like, with male comics especially, like,
oh my God, some men in this industry, straight guys in this industry.
Yeah, sometimes, yeah, sometimes.
Yeah, just that, like, and then I think maybe that.
And it is like, kind of informs other conversations I'm in where I'm like, oh, is this person also.
And it is a competitive thing.
Because you can tell when you talk to a guy in this industry and it's not competitive,
like you can tell.
And most oftentimes, they're gay.
But when you talk to a straight man in this, it's rare that I talk to a straight guy in this industry that it didn't feel like a taxing conversation to have.
Yeah.
Like I'm thinking of when I had recently.
Well, Rhett and Link, I had them on and they were lovely.
Josh from Mythical Kitchen, they're all under the mythical.
Like, all the good straight guys right there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like Josh is somebody who's also lovely, like, really, really easy to talk to.
But that's because he looks to connect as opposed to compete.
So, like, that's, that's probably what you were experiencing.
And I can validate that for you.
Because I've also had those experiences.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like tricky.
Yeah.
And it does get like annoying because you're like, okay.
Yeah.
We don't need to.
All right.
Whatever.
Yeah.
We have like the silliest jobs.
It's like we're just being silly.
Yeah.
All of our jobs are made up.
It's okay.
We made these jobs up for ourselves.
It's okay.
And like especially with the comments I'm like or comics, I'm like, we're the
both same level of insecure.
I'm like we're doing like we're working it out right now.
Like currently in our job.
Look at us.
Like, we're the same person.
We don't have to really like.
We don't need to be doing all this.
Everything you've told yourself, I've told this to myself also.
Yeah.
Like we're not.
It's put them down.
It's okay.
Yeah.
It's okay.
But I'm glad I could validate that feeling for you.
Yeah, no.
You are not alone in that.
Okay.
Yeah.
Not even little.
That might have actually been happening.
Like, okay.
I do, we'll transition now.
I do have some fun facts about you.
Whoa.
Okay.
Well, you'll let me know if they're fun.
Okay.
And I always tell my guests and if you're, they're not fun,
I counted against Amanda.
Okay.
Yeah.
So her job's on the line, no pressure.
Okay.
All right.
Let's see.
So this one says,
you used to work at the Chippewa Falls,
Wisconsin Ace Hardware and made comedy videos and sketches during your ship.
Yes.
That's right.
I think I remember you working at some of your videos.
Yeah.
One that really blew up with just like the audio of like the,
this year's,
um,
Teresa.
She's my,
she's my,
whatever the surfs up,
um,
audio with the grills because I would build grills.
Oh,
So then I'd be like, I'd be like, these are the ones I built.
And then, yeah, I got in trouble because I was like live streaming during work where I would just, you just have to like replace the tags.
Like if there was a price change, which I'm like, why are you changing these prices so often?
I'm like, this is most of my job is just taking out this little tag, putting it in a new price that's like 80 cents.
Like I was like, okay, this is whatever.
But so I would just like change the price tax and I would live stream and then my boss, his kid saw my stream and he was like, yeah, you got to quit that.
And I was like, okay, it's like, well, like when I'm doing people's hunting license, like obviously I turn.
it off. I'm not, I'm not streaming there, you know.
You can't be showing these trade secrets.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like, we're just having fun.
It's Ace Hardware. But he didn't like that. I mean, he didn't fire me, thankfully, but
thankfully, thankfully, thankfully. But yeah. No, Ace was,
Ace was really fun. I like working there. It was chill. It was really chill. I was like,
just cutting keys. And building grills is crazy. Building grills, Weber Grills. Yeah.
It's fun. It was just like, you know your way around a grill. And I was taking that job very
seriously.
Very seriously to the point where my dad was like, those are kids, by the way.
Like I was working with like a 17 year old.
I was like, I was probably like 19.
Like he wasn't that much younger.
But I was like, he just doesn't do his job, dad.
And he's like, you're not the manager.
And I was like, I guess I'm not.
I'm like, but when I asked him the sweep.
And this is A's Hardware.
Yes.
He's like, he's like day's hardware.
And by the way, they're getting paid literally like seven, 25.
Yeah.
And I'm getting paid eight 25.
And I was like, I was like, I don't know.
Damn it.
I care.
Yeah.
I was like, damn it.
I guess I care.
I guess I care too much.
I guess I care about the Ace Hardware.
Whatever.
I was like,
it is my brand.
Nobody wants to get up off their ass and work these days.
No.
And then I was like, honestly, that kid, he's, like, me too.
Like, I'm on my phone also.
Like, why am I acting like I'm better than him?
I was like that poor kid.
I'm on my phone in a different way, though.
It's more of a like.
Yeah, like in the bathroom.
Yeah.
He's on it at the register.
But I guess, whatever.
It's whatever.
Okay, this one says,
uh, you used to find insane Harry Styles fan fiction on Wapad
and acted it out.
That, yeah.
Well, that, okay, well, let's, so I didn't find that.
I wrote, drag queen.
The queen of drag.
I didn't, so that was just like, that was just like, kind of something that came in my head,
I guess.
Yeah.
It was just like.
Off the dome.
I was off the dome.
Yeah.
But that was, I mean, I will, I will say it was a trend at the time.
Yes.
The Wap had fanfic stuff.
That was a trend.
And fanfic is real popular, so that makes sense.
That makes sense.
They were,
See, that's the fan girl in me.
I wasn't reading.
Also, because I wasn't reading.
Yeah.
So if I was...
You were unfamiliar with like how crazy it was getting on there.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And it's funny because what you did make up still was like,
would make sense if it was in a fanfic.
I'm sure.
Like whatever nonsense you were making up,
I'm sure it has been written down in a fan fiction.
Oh, 100%.
Yeah.
I'm like,
shout out to these fanfic writers.
I got to get into it more.
Girl, they are so colorful.
It's actually insane.
Okay.
This one says you have a wood carving of a cheesehead.
Oh, yeah.
A Packers fan wearing a piece of cheese on its head.
Yes.
You keep close by.
Yeah, I just keep a little souvenir.
He's just a little Packer Cheesehead guy from the, what's it called?
Freaking, um, whatever.
From some store in O'Clair.
Local store.
It's called the local store.
The local store.
It's like my favorite little guy.
And then I sometimes gifted to people.
Like I gifted Aiden, um, who was in the American High like sketch group.
I gifted him like a little shirtless guy because they're all like unique carvings from like a local
artist.
Oh, cool.
So I was like, they're just sweet.
little guys. There's my sweet little guys. I love that Amanda wrote in parentheses a Packers fan
wearing a piece of cheese on its head. Yes. But I am familiar with cheese heads. Cheese heads.
Obviously. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is your dad a big Packers fan? Yeah, like, Packers and like,
oh, that's not Wisconsin. I was going to say the Cardinals. That's Arizona. That's Arizona. He likes
the Cardinals, but and the Brewers, whatever. But yeah, they're all, everyone's Packers, but I'm like,
I like, I don't know anything about football. I don't care. I know discount double check from the commercials,
but like he's not even on the team anymore.
Oh, but Shailene Woodley dated Aaron Rogers for a little bit.
That's true.
That's what I know.
Aaron Rogers is also like cuckoo banana is insane.
Oh, really?
Okay.
Yeah, he's like anti-vax.
Yeah, big time.
Yeah, that's what I.
But he's like, he's one of those where it's almost like, I have a bunch of sports jokes in my head.
I just don't think you're going to really care for them.
No, I will not know that.
I will not.
He's basically experiencing a very insane form of CTE in my opinion.
Oh, really?
I think so.
So I, well, I would like to think that's why he's going insane.
Me trying to, again, recall with the physical.
Yeah.
Do quarterbacks, they get hit?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because people come and get them.
Yeah, yeah, they come and tackle them.
But he's just insane and awful.
Aaron Rogers.
Who's the quarterback now on the Packers?
Yeah.
I couldn't tell you.
I know.
What's funny is I worked in the NFL right before COVID.
And I, yeah, I did.
I did sports for a very long time.
I worked at the NFL and then I got fired and then COVID hit and then I started making TikToks.
Oh, okay.
But when I was working at the NFL, how I got in was like, obviously I was like I was doing sports
journalism.
I was doing communications like all that stuff.
I had a big reel.
I had a lot of clips of like me writing and whatever.
And I had a big story I did on a really famous quarterback like that got me the job
essentially.
But when I was applying for it, there's like a lot of rounds of interviews you have to do.
and there was one round I had to do
where they just test your football knowledge.
And I don't know if they still do this.
I don't know if they only do it to women.
I have no fucking clue.
I would like to think they don't only do it to women,
but I wouldn't be surprised.
So they basically got me on a call with like four people
and they're asking me questions about football.
And it's not even just the game of football.
It's everything.
So players, coaches, teams, trades, draft, like college a little bit.
Like, how much do you know?
like what are some top storylines like what are some trades that happen in the off season that you think are
impactful blah blah blah so i knew i knew this was part of the interview process like i knew they told me
i didn't know just how detailed it would be but i assumed it would be so what i did was i asked my
husband who played football for fucking ever and then he didn't want to go to the nflb so but he watches
football and just knows a lot about it and having played he has like a higher IQ than like the average
fan who's never played so i literally sat down
with him and asked him a fuck ton of questions.
I wrote down every single thing he said.
And I tried to cover as many bases as I could.
And then when I did the interview was on the phone,
so obviously they can't see me.
And so I was just reading,
I was just reading everything I wrote.
But I was improvving it to sound like,
oh God, that's such a great question.
Some filler words.
I guess I would say Clay Matthew.
Like I just started talking like that.
And when I tell you, I blew their fucking socks off bitch like that.
And low-key, I cheated my weight in that shit.
And I don't give a fuck.
Okay, they all cheat.
Yeah, they're all cheaters.
I don't care.
I was like, maybe it's women in STEM.
Maybe women are smarter.
Yeah.
Also, I'm sorry, all that stuff.
You can look up.
Yeah.
You can look up all that stuff.
I have to know that right now.
And they would like, I wish I, to this day, I remembered what it was, but the guy who ended up
being my boss, he actually asked me a question and I answered it in a very unique way, I guess
to them, like, because.
This is on the call or in person?
On the call.
Oh, okay, yeah.
And he was like, wow, that's so interesting.
Why that?
And then I explained what my husband said, none of these thoughts from my own.
And I said it.
And then he was like, God, that's such a good point.
Yeah, he's like, shit.
And then when I actually got the job, he was like, you know, I talk about your interview
a lot.
Oh, my gosh.
I was like, right.
But it's because, like, what he told me was something that only someone who played football
for a long time would know.
That's why.
But I just was resourceful.
Okay, smart.
So like look at that's what I was like listen.
And then I guess like I'm glad they didn't like interview you in person again.
Like thank God they were just like well I guess it's iron.
Yeah she did the phone one was good.
Yeah I ended up doing an in person interview but that was just more so about the job at that point.
But they had to do the quiz here.
Yeah no they literally like gate check you like at the gate they're like well first off do you know anything about fucking football and then they let you in.
Name five touchdowns.
Name five touchdowns and three baseball players.
My sister, who is a lesbian, I mention at least once every episode, which she told me, one of the funniest things she ever told me was like, she knew she was unpacking her internalized misogyny and therefore finding out she was gay because one of the first things she let go of was football.
Like she's like, oh my God, when I didn't have to pretend to like football, a dream.
When I didn't have to pretend anymore, oh my God.
Wait, wait, but as a straight woman pretending to like football.
Yeah, like she was a straight woman pretending to like football.
Oh, I see.
I see because that's like.
But when she found out she was gay, she was like, I fucking hate football.
and I don't care about it.
Yeah.
I don't care at all.
My God, be free.
Watch rugby.
Last fun fact.
She wants me to ask you if you remember your very first Instagram post.
And it's, it's from.
I have a feeling because do you have it?
Yeah.
Okay.
Is it a video or like a picture?
It's a picture.
Okay.
It's from April 27, 2013.
April 27, 2013.
Now this, okay.
So there's, I can vividly see like the last.
grid.
Okay, here's some thoughts.
One, is it me eating a cookie with my friend Katie while she's playing the Sims?
You honestly, I think so, but you're not eating a cookie.
Oh, I'm not eating a cookie.
Maybe she made cookies.
Is it just me like this?
Yes.
With kidding?
Are you serious?
Yes.
Oh my God.
I remember we would like, when we would sleep over it, yes.
Yes.
Yes.
We would play the Sims and it would piss me off because it's a single player game and she'd be playing it.
And then I'd be like, okay, my turn, my turn.
I'd be like, literally.
It says the caption is playing Sims.
Oh my gosh.
What do you mean you don't remember anything?
Oh my gosh.
You remember it almost like.
Oh, no, I'm scrolling back there just to make cute.
I'm scrolling back there.
I'm like, yeah, some of those I'm like, we should start archiving those.
I'm like that.
I'm like that.
I don't need to see that.
I know.
I've had that before on like some really good ones.
There's some really good ones on there.
There's me like, there's some like art I drew.
And I'm like, we got to get it.
No, you're so me.
I used to feel that way about the Sims too.
I hated playing with us.
others because I was like this is a single player game. This is a single player game. And you're not
playing right. No, yeah. Like you're not doing it right. And also like let's just cheat.
You're not. Yeah. Oh, I cheat all the time. I use that mother load cheat code. Please.
Mother load. Yeah. Mother load. Did you have, okay, wait, what? Did you have like a specific town you
like to live in? Um, I'm forgetting the names, but yes. There was always one. I, I,
Appaloosa or planes or whatever. Appaloo. Yeah, I always lived in one that had a lot of more buildings than
anything because I liked to debate with the nightlife one yeah oh I loved that one city one city
I had that one yeah that expansion pack I also got the college one too I talked about this
recently and I picked her goal to be like to have 10 boyfriends at the same time yes oh my god yes
I love doing shit like that oh yes no my sims were woohooing major oh big time I joke a lot about how like
when I would play sims I low key was like I was low key following this trad wife trend but like
unintentionally but I would like I would like marry her and then if it's
the richest person who evict the family that was in the biggest house.
And then I would marry her to either the richest person or make my own husband.
I would get her pregnant.
I would send him to work because I just don't care about him and I don't care what happens.
Every time we'd come home, I'd send him somewhere.
And his outfits, the randomized outfit.
Yeah.
Don't care.
Don't care.
Like the townies wear.
Yeah.
So then I would like, I would make her have children and then I would have her raise them.
And then I would get animals too and raise them.
And I would like develop all her skills.
I would have her be a really good pianist and like get in the best shape ever.
and then also like her experiencing life
and having these children
and then I would raise them,
I would marry them off
and then I would do the same thing again.
But every time the husband came home,
I'm like, go fucking do something.
I don't need to see you.
Have six jobs.
Be gone.
Have a part-time job.
And also like get back
and go for a run.
Make the paintings in the basement
and we'll sell them for like $500.
Yeah, I was doing that.
I was doing that.
That was probably, and now I think
because I don't want kids
like in my real life.
So I think that's where I was exercising.
that feeling. I was like, well, I could do it this way. Yeah, no, same. No part of me, like,
wants to have children. No, that's why I was like, but here I could do it. Like my friend's kids and
being like, like, see it later. Oh my God, I love being an aunt. Yeah. Oh, my God, I love.
I'm like, that's just kind of like fun. Yeah, it's always fun. But I'm like, I'm just,
I'm like, I'm like, uh, like, because when I don't want to do something, I want to do something.
But like, you can't not want to like change a diaper. It's not an option when you're a parent.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, you can't, you have to do it. Yeah, you're in it. And I'm like, wait.
I want to go see a movie
Let's go see a movie
What if I want to see a movie?
What if I want to see a movie?
What if I want to see a movie? What if I'm on my fourth
nap of the day?
That kid's on a different sleep schedule.
It's just never going to work.
It's never going to work.
I just really don't think.
I just really don't think, no.
Which is fine by me.
More vacations.
More sims.
More sims.
More sims.
I'm like my kids and Sims.
Yeah.
Maybe a dog.
Maybe.
Maybe.
I have two dogs.
So dogs I recommend.
I have two Frenchies.
Oh, love.
I like pugs.
Do you think those are ugly?
I love pugs.
I think pugs are so fucking cute.
I had two pugs growing up and then when they passed we got two.
They do get very scary when they get old.
Because I had a friend who had two pugs for a long time.
They lived forever.
I think she took really good care of them.
They lived for like 15 years.
But like when they get older, they're white and scary.
Yeah.
They turn white.
When my dog died, my dad posted it on Instagram and I was like, is tank dead?
And he was like, yeah.
And I was like, oh my God.
It was like a picture of him just like, like, like, yeah.
Just checking in.
Yeah.
It was.
And I was like, man, he's, and he's dad, I guess.
And he's like, yeah, so tank's dead.
Yeah, if you're reading this.
And then my sister was like at work.
So they were just updating the family group chat.
Yeah, Molly, if you're reading this, tank's dead.
And we're like, oh, my God.
Okay.
But yeah, no, towards the end, they get, they're just the little old guys.
Yeah, I do love a pug though.
I love a punky too.
Yeah.
They are like, you blowing them a little too hard.
bad will happen. Like they are, yes, they're fucking fragile as fuck. Oh, okay, okay. They eat anything.
They'll die. They go in the sun for too long, they'll die. They can't swim. They can't even
really breathe that well. Yeah. No, I know. And I literally got like for both my dogs, I got them
both fixed and I got them, like, I keep calling it a rhinoplastie, but like they literally, yeah,
they have to like open their nose holes more and then cut down their soft palate. Oh my God.
Yeah, you don't even want to know how much that shit costs. It's like, okay. Well,
We have to like intervene in this way.
Well, that's why I was like, I did that so they'll live longer.
And for some reason, my Frenchies are enormous.
Like, my Frenchies are really big.
And I, and I've, that's been proven to me.
Every time I see a Frenchie in the wild, I'm like, why does mine?
Because it can breathe.
Mine's 10 times bigger than that one.
Really?
Yeah, because Frenchies are so small, naturally.
Mine are like this big and heavy.
And like literally.
Do you think it is because of the surgeries?
Honestly, I don't know.
I think it's because I, like, when I,
I took, because I fostered my second one, we adopted my first one. I fostered the second one.
And the second one is completely deaf. When I took him to the vet, he was saying both these frenchies are bred very well, like really well. And it's, I don't know if it's because they're huge. I have no clue. But literally my first french, his name is squid.
Cute. Cute. Those are my two dogs. Oh my God. That's adorable. Yeah. So squid went to the vet for like a checkup a couple months ago. And she was like, yeah, he's a little big. Like he needs to lose some weight. My Frenchie was 48 pounds. And I, and I,
And I'm not, he's not obese.
I can't stress on enough.
He's not obese.
Like he looks good.
And even she said he's just a big boy.
Like he does need to cut down a little bit.
He's a proper way now.
But they're like like long.
Long.
Yeah.
They're not just like, yeah.
And even like we had a guy come to her house to fix our air like a month ago.
And when he came, he saw my Frenchies like they were in like, we call it a parlor,
but like the doors were closed so they don't bother him.
And they were just watching him.
And he goes, are those Frenchies?
And my husband goes, yeah, they are.
He's like like full Frenchie.
And he goes.
He goes, yeah, he goes, those are the biggest Frenchies I've ever seen.
Oh, my God.
He's like, I thought they were bulldogs.
Oh my God.
And I was like, I don't know.
They're full Frenchie.
I don't know what the hell.
I just keep joking that I have two Samoan Frenchies because I'm Samoan and so is my husband.
Oh my gosh.
And they're just huge, naturally.
I was a huge child.
Obviously, I grew him in my womb and gave birth to him.
Obviously, squid and tuna.
Yeah.
So squid and tuna.
My babies.
My biological children.
My biological children.
I mean, look at them.
Well, I support your pug dreams.
Thank you.
Thank you.
If you got a pug, what would you name it?
Oh my gosh.
I don't know.
We have, so we have two now that are Charlie and Otis, like back home in Wisconsin.
Those are super cute.
I love human names for dogs.
I love when they're so human.
It's like a regular.
Yeah.
Hey, I'm Charlie.
Yeah.
Just a little Charlie guy.
Cute.
But I don't know.
I actually haven't thought of like a pug name because honestly I'm like, no way I'm having a dog in the city.
I'm like, I'm likefully like, that'll be maybe later.
That's real.
Yeah.
In New York, especially.
Yeah.
Those floors are so gross.
I think about people having dogs
and bringing them in the house
and letting them on the couch.
Yes.
Yes.
I'm like, wait.
Their paws are touching the city floor
and then they come inside.
You guys don't even wear like flip-flops out in the city
but you're going to take your dog out there.
Yeah.
And then they're like walking and poop.
Yeah.
And also like I take my shoes off.
I take my shoes off before I like go in my house too.
No, for real.
And I'm like.
When my sister lived in New York for a bit like when we would get off the subway
and go in her apartment,
she would like sterilize my whole body before I got to go anywhere.
Oh yeah.
Some people are like,
and I have to change my bed.
Yeah
This is too much
No, so a dog, no
I guess you could just wipe their paws
I guess
I guess you could do that
But then it's like that's another thing
I don't want to do
That's another thing I'm like
Because as soon as
As soon as I get home
I'm taking my clothes off
Putting my inside clothes on
Yeah immediately
And then I have to like wipe this damn dog's feet too
No
You're not at that face yet
No and maybe I'll grow into that
We're at the celebrity crush face
right now. That's the face right. Yeah. I'm at the point where I'm, I'm just, I'm, you know,
I got to put me first. Yeah. I'm, I'm putting me first. I'm, which is a good thing. You know,
dissecting my inner monologue. I'm, I'm there. I think you don't have to room for a dog. Yeah.
And that's okay. Maybe a dog would heal me though. Maybe a dog would help me. Maybe when you
come out of this next phase. Okay. Next phase. Okay. Next phase. I'm entering the next phase.
Do you think soon? I think right now. I think you're in it. Okay. Currently. Oh my God. Okay.
Oh my god, I'm in the next phase
And I'm excited for you
Okay, and I'd like just to kind of wrap us
Like I would love to know if you have any advice
For any like aspiring artists
Like anyone who really wants to get into comedy acting
Sketch anything like that
That you've already been working on and doing really well in
Do you have any advice for anyone?
I think finding a community really helped me
Oh, that's really good
like my friends growing up I think had similar aspirations but like I think when I like got to
American High and like met other people who were like really driven and like dedicated to like the
craft I was like whoa okay this is inspiring and this is like this is making me also want to like step up
yeah so I think like finding your community is really important just to like even hold you
accountable and like and also just yeah and to be inspired by them to see like what they're doing
stuff off of that kind of thing yeah probably that and then I guess yeah I don't know I guess like all the
problems you have like everyone else has too yeah and it's just kind of like some people are just I guess
working through it yeah just getting out of your own way kind of thing which is really really hard so yeah
so be nice to yourself like be nice yourself and like you'll figure it out but like find your people
find your find your find your group and it helps when you're unbelievably hilarious like you
Oh my gosh, thank you.
It helps when you, yeah, I guess, yeah, you're sort of a light.
As you say.
Your words, not mine.
Yeah, yeah, your words not mine.
I'm a light.
I'm a light and I guess I can, you know, just get any man I want.
That's what I'm learning from that.
And you're, you're wincing when you say it, but you will believe it.
No, yeah.
You keep saying it enough, you'll stop, you'll stop grimacing when you say it.
Yeah.
And actually, it's like, actually, you know what?
Yes, no, we're doing it because I had this idea recently where I was like,
there's all these like fat funny guys who are like pol like that um stravos or what was it
stop a baby yeah i'm like when i like when i like saw his roster i was like what the fuck you have
no idea who that guy's taken down i know you have no idea what kind of pipe that dude has laid
i'm like i'm gonna start faking it until i'm gonna start breaking it i'm gonna start grace that's what i've been
when i tell you when i tell you that is my main message of my platform you could get anyone
and men are sluts okay men are horrors they're easy
So like it's there easy trust me.
I don't know if I'm just a sled or whore though.
That's the problem.
That's a problem.
Porcino los dose.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah.
They'll be a slut for me but I'll be like, I'll be like, I'm not kissing you tell the
yeah, you get your pick.
You get your pick of the litter.
Okay.
Work it.
Miles Taylor.
Look out.
I'm coming for you and your wife.
But yeah.
You better look out.
Yeah.
Look out.
Here I come.
I'm going to, I'm going to, yeah.
Soon I'll be on a podcast and I'll be like going through all my ex.
And they'll be like, no way.
And I'll be like, yeah, whatever, I don't know.
Whatever.
Whatever.
Light work.
It was Paris.
That's what you do.
That's what you do at Fashion Week in Paris.
Exactly.
And I'll be like this.
I'll be like this all the time.
So nonchalant.
Yeah.
I mean, just so nonchance.
So relaxed.
This woman.
This woman doesn't know where she is.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Well, I think I believe all those things about you.
I really do think you are so uniquely
funny and so special and I'm so happy to see that you're walking in your purpose, like,
which is being an entertainer.
Oh, thank you.
And I think that's beautiful.
And I think it's wonderful, too, that you have this vision of also doing it with your
