Do you all ever have men be like, how tall are you?
I'm probably about like around the same way.
All the time.
It's not even night.
They'll come stay next to you and be like,
my boy, back up.
Hey, everyone and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show,
starring me, your fave, everybody knows me, who cares about me?
On to the guest.
Today we have two iconic legendary athletes.
I'm just collecting them all, bitch.
We have Janaya Barker and Kiki Rise.
Welcome to the show, ladies.
Thank you so much for having us.
Oh my gosh.
Thank you.
It's an honor and a privilege.
I'm collecting female athletes like Infinity Stones.
Who else you to do?
I had Zaya.
Cook?
Yes.
I had Zaya on.
I had a rugby player, Alona Marr.
Now I'm slowly worming my way into the WNBA.
Areke is next on my list.
I'm after.
I'm after her.
Tell her I'm looking for her.
After that all-star performance.
Yeah.
Oh, she did crazy.
And I was at that game.
Oh, you was at the?
Yeah, I went to the All-Star game this weekend.
It was fucking so fun.
Really?
Yeah, never felt safer in a crowd of sports athletes.
Because it's just, it's all lesbians and women.
Right.
I love that.
I love that.
When you're in an audience of male fans, horrifying.
It gets scary and they get drunk.
Yeah, exactly.
Nothing but love and good vibes.
Good energy.
But I'm honored to have both of you.
Thank you so much.
All-Star basketball players.
Both UCLA Bruins.
Yeah, four's up.
You know how we get.
It's just go Bruins, right?
No, four's up.
Four's up.
Is that for women's basketball exclusively or just Bruins?
Oh, just the Bruins.
Yeah, you should like, period.
Yeah.
Is there a reason for the four?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I just think it's like UCLA, like,
maybe.
I don't know.
I just got here.
Yeah, I just got here.
Someone gets mad at you.
Right.
They're like, actually, that's not it.
Right.
But I'd love to know your guys's origins, like how you got into basketball.
I know.
I know your lore to an extent, but I would love for everyone else to know, like, how you got into basketball.
Yeah, so I started playing and I was like six years old, so I've been playing for a while.
I wanted to do everything that my brother did, and my older brother, he was a few years older than me.
So he would go, he'd go shoot at our, like, our neighbor's house and stuff.
So I'd want to go down with him and my dad and so on that kind of went down there and took my first shot.
And ever since then, I've been playing on like, A, U-T team, travel teams, and just stuck with it my whole life.
Period.
I just want to give Kikiar props.
She plays soccer as well.
Oh, T, bitch.
Gatorade player at a year.
Oh, period.
She's that girl.
Okay, jack of all trades.
I wanted to give that to her.
But yeah, I started playing basketball.
I want to say like five.
I just remember my dad.
We were watching a ball in Celtics game, and I'm like, what are they doing?
What's going on over there?
Trying to be like them.
Right.
So ever since then, just been the tallest thing on the court and just loved it so much.
and it's literally my life, so it's part of me.
And how has it been, like, succeeding at a sport so young?
Has it been, did it take any of the fun out of it for you?
Or has it been just, like, the higher you go,
the more excited you get and more motivated you are?
I mean, at one point it did.
Because I think my pops knew, like, my potential
and how good I could be.
So the push was like, okay, like, hold on, you're doing a bit too much.
It's not fun anymore.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, this is making a job.
But after that, it was just,
like sometimes just surreal.
Yeah.
Me and Kiki, we want to go, like,
we want a gold medal together.
Two gold medals.
Yeah, we want two gold medals together.
You're 16, like, winning a gold medal,
like just, that's crazy.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, realizing it now, but I think at a young age,
I'm just, like, living, you know?
Yeah, totally.
Yeah.
What about you, Kiki?
Yeah, for me, when I was younger, actually,
I played soccer too.
And there's a point where I'm like,
all right, like, I want to play soccer and not basketball
because my mom, my dad is less hard on me
about soccer because obviously you don't know anything about soccer.
So I'm like, yeah, I'll play soccer because, like, my dad's, he's on me about basketball,
working out, training, all that stuff.
And then when I got to, like, maybe 12-ish, at that point, I was like, okay, like, you know,
like I love basketball more than I love soccer.
So I knew I wanted to continue to do it.
But yeah, there's a point where I'm like, I don't even know if I want to do this because
soccer seemed like it would be the easier route in terms of me getting yelled at and all that stuff.
But no, like, I felt, you know, you're in love with that.
the game and you play so much and you give so much to it. So it's like, I got to keep playing,
got to keep, you know, realizing of the potential. Absolutely. Also, too, I feel like because
the two of you are so prominent in women's basketball, especially now, and with like the resurgence
of women's basketball this year, like women's basketball has seen so many new fans this year.
It's become so popular. I'm sure it can get difficult to like having so many more eyes on you now,
like, especially with social media. Like, it just blows up overnight almost. Yeah. I, I,
I can say that.
I would say that.
Yeah, but in a way, it's like a good thing.
Oh, yeah.
It is a, a wonderful thing.
But it is like, yeah, you see, like, player tweet something or they post something.
And it's like overnight right away, like, literally, the whole scandal, something, drama.
Yeah, it's on Bleacher Report.
Immediately.
Yeah.
Especially with women's basketball.
Do you all have, like, did you all have any people that you watched playing the game that you were like, I'm trying to be like her?
I mean, okay, well, I'm a really big fan of Rkiah Jackson.
Like, somebody else who just gets on the show.
She plays for the Sparks.
Oh.
Really love her game, but I think not like be like, but just to be excited and proud of, I grew up with Angel Reese.
So just see her, just flourish and be everything that she can be and everything that she dreamed of from like even being a model.
Like it's just so beautiful to see that because I have guy friends, you know, they go college for a year and then they go to league.
So it's like they get to live their life.
But just to see her flourish and just grow throughout all of it, it's just so beautiful.
Love, love.
What about you?
Premiere wasn't really like one player that I was like you know I want to be like
who I want to play like but I think it was just a collection of like growing up like
watching women's college basketball and like every single year I'd see like more people
know about the game more people tuned into the players I think for me that was just
exciting it like made me want to be a part of the game and and you know get there one day even
even too yeah well that was going to be my next question was like now that women's basketball
has is like moving so quickly to like mainstream obviously there have been people that have
and fans of women's basketball for a long time.
But now a lot of people are like,
I didn't even know there was a women's league.
Like they're just,
they're finding out today.
How do you all feel about all the new attention
and new fans coming in to watch women's basketball?
We went from they need to be in the kitchen
making peanut butter jelly sandwich juice to,
oh my gosh, I'm such a fan.
It's really been like a roller coaster ride,
but it's such a blessing.
Like, you know, of course,
I feel like we deserve every attention that we get from it
because we put as much work as the boys.
Yeah, totally.
Which is a way for that money to get, you know, where the boys is at.
It's coming soon.
But, yeah, it's so crazy.
I mean, I like the new fans.
Sometimes it's like, you can tell you haven't been watching basketball for a while.
You don't know what you're talking about.
You don't know too much.
So sometimes you got to, you know, say something.
But I think it's cool to, like, introduce so many new people to the game.
And it's like, now you see, like, little boys wearing, like, jerseysies of WMBA players.
Yeah.
NBA players.
So it's like, you know, like, that's stuff we love to see.
Yeah, I saw a lot of little boys at the All-Star game and, like, Diana Tarasi
jerseys, like a lot of them were in Tarasi jersey, which I thought is so cute.
They love DT.
Everybody loves DT.
Yeah, she's beloved, like, especially because we were in Phoenix.
Like, when she came out, it was like, like, like Justin Bieber was there.
Yeah.
Everyone was going crazy.
Yeah.
She's the cutest.
I'm so curious, like how, well, obviously, Janai, you transferred, so how has that been for you?
Man, I wouldn't text A&M, and I just came.
Like, college station is just such a small, small town.
So to come to L.A.
Like, there's been so many opportunities.
Like, first of all, like, being here is really, really cool and embarrassing.
But L.A. is just so L.A.
Like, L.A. is just L.A.
Like, it's not a bad thing.
It's just the way they are.
Some people are weird.
People are cool.
The beautiful, the views are nice.
There's just, like, no in between.
They're either weird or they're cool.
Yeah.
It's really scary.
It's really scary.
Like, you don't know really who to trust, but I've had great people around me just to introduce me to people that are good people.
So that's a blessing.
Yeah.
And you're from Texas?
No, I'm from Atlanta, Georgia.
Oh, KT.
Love.
Love.
Where you're from?
I'm from here, Southern California, not L.A., but.
I think the natives are cool, though.
Yeah.
I think natives are cool.
I think the people that move to L.A.
Yeah.
Are, like, the ones that be like, weird.
Girl, what is you doing?
Girl, what do you got going on?
Kiki, where are you from originally?
I'm from D.
East Coast.
Okay.
opposite side of the country, very, very different vibe over there.
Yeah, I've been to D.C. once. It was fun.
It's nice. I love it, yeah.
But it's a different coming out to L.A.
Yeah. It's a completely different experience.
No, but I like it, though.
What have you learned, like, since you, like,
because you've been here like for, like, what this year three?
Yeah, third year living here.
So, like, what you think is, like, something that you should take.
Everyone here is definitely a lot more materialistic than back home in D.C.
Yeah.
And that's something that, like, I mean, I think it's, like, cool stuff that you have out here.
Right.
But it's like, it's very different coming from D.C.
Like, everyone's into politics and, like, the government and all that.
And out here, it's like, people go about their day knowing, like, nothing that's happening in the world.
It's so, so different.
That's a lot different.
And in the way, that's, like, a breath of fresh air and stuff.
But it's also, like, now I'll go back to D.C.
And it's, like, immediately, like, it's just, I feel the different vibe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
One of my favorite questions to ask female athletes is, like, what your experience has been, like, with men who are, like, you should be one-on-one me.
you and I should go play
it's always the football players
it's always
it's always the football players
because they think they like
they were dual sports athletes
if they wanted to play basketball
they could
yeah it was never good
they're like oh I could have
I could have I just chose football
right you're a liar
sure yeah yeah sure
it's kind of scary too
because it's like
they'd be big too right they be big
like you you're literally
an offensive tackle
like I don't know where
a big boy
big boy yeah
they have all the
confidence in the world every single time.
That's just men, though. You know, that testosterone gets to boil in.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's scary.
Definitely, I've played, like, a lot of guys would be like, let's play one-on-one.
Guys also do that to flirt and stuff.
Right.
When I had Zaya, she goes, that's the worst when they're, like, trying to make it into
love and basketball, like, knock it off.
Like, play for real.
Play for real.
Right, right.
I'm not going to be backing you down or stop.
I'm not going to put my butt on you going.
Play for real.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah, but no, it's always good to give them that work and, like,
one and beat them.
Right.
All right.
You ain't got nothing to say.
Yeah, what about, like, the gym at school or something?
Like, you know, sometimes they'll play, like, pick up basketball there,
and then they're like, yeah, you should play, you should play with this.
And then they start getting, it starts not being very funny after a while.
They get hella competitive and they're mad.
You're scoring on them.
Yeah.
And it's like, trying to foul, be a little dangerous.
Like, nah.
Yeah, don't do all that.
Because football players would get.
this basketball and they start going to football again.
Yeah.
They start getting mad and competitive.
I told Zaya the same thing too that I read this thread from this famous female basketball
player.
I wish to God I can remember who it was.
But she wrote this whole thing basically saying why she doesn't one on one, why she stopped
one Vying dudes all the time.
Because she said I was very competitive and I felt like I had to prove myself so I would
play every guy who challenged me.
And I would always beat them.
But what happens is as you start getting older and they start getting bigger, like they
start getting more aggressive and then they might actually hurt you.
And then she's like, I have something to play for, you don't.
So this isn't worth it to me.
That sounds like Ty and Johnny and our practice players.
Like they get real aggressive.
They love a good back down.
Like you're big.
You got it.
Like you know what I'm saying?
You're strong.
Okay.
You're very strong.
Good job.
Yeah, they love to beat that testosterone.
That testosterone.
My sister loves the WNBA, but she was telling me too how she like, how
college teams have practiced squads of like men who scrimmage like the women and they like you know
they just help the women get better and they run new schemes and shit on them and so I was like yeah
that that's pretty standard I mean they have those in like football and stuff too but it's funny that
it's men I feel like a lot of men who critique women's basketball have no idea that that's the case
like they're like there are men that stand in so you guys can play against them literally every day
we got the practice guys there and a lot of them like a lot of them like a lot of them
like, you know, they're great just because, you know, they come to practice and like, dang,
we didn't realize how good y'all were.
Right.
They have that weird.
Isn't that so strange?
Like, even as long as y'all have been playing now, like, you've proven yourself, obviously,
right?
Right.
So you are an athlete, so clearly.
And then when you play them, they're like, you're actually pretty good.
Right.
Like, yeah, no shit, bitch.
Like, what the fuck?
Actually, it's crazy.
Like, duh.
Yeah, obviously.
Go to UCLA.
Like.
That's why I'm on the team.
and you're not.
Not.
You're a practice player.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's kind of how that works.
They pick good people to play on the college spot.
No, they do be good, though.
It's a couple of, like, it's your name is Cody.
He's shifty, like, it'd be hard.
Like, you don't want to guard him in practice.
You know what I'm saying?
But also, too, they do a really good job of, like,
when we scout teams, like, say we're playing Kail and Clark.
Yeah.
You're playing Iowa.
Somebody's going to be Kail and Clark all practice the whole time
and shooting threes and stuff.
You know what I'm saying?
So they're just literally helping us.
and preparing us for the game to get us ready, get us better,
and give us a little simulation of what it's supposed to look like.
Now that women's basketball has become so front-facing in a lot of ways,
and a lot of you girls individually now are growing fan bases.
People are like, oh, she's my favorite player.
I love them, I love them, which is so fucking cool.
I'm curious, like, how has the journey been on social media
with men specifically who are like, oh, she's not even that fucking good,
like, just give me a week, I could fucking beat her, like that type of shit.
How has that been for y'all?
Yeah, I see all that stuff and disqualify.
regard it.
Like, I don't even pay no mind to it at all.
Literally.
It's like it's not worth, not worth the time of day.
Yeah, other than it being a lie.
Right.
Men are scary.
Like, men are really scary for real.
Yeah.
I made, I made a few videos defending WNBA players because it was really pissing me off.
Like, especially when when Caitlin Clark, like, became so popular amongst all sports fans.
Like, men were having a fucking field day, like talking shit on women's basketball players,
her specifically, but also all of them.
And there was one guy.
or these two guys that were saying like,
oh, who do you think,
like the best WNBA squad
or the best men's basketball high school team?
Like, which one do you think?
I've seen that.
When you saw that shit?
Yeah.
The way it infuriated me
because I'm like, okay,
just based off their build alone,
I know for a fact you're not an athlete.
So what are we talking about?
Like, we could sit here and do this make-believe shit
all fucking day, but like, what is the point?
There's literally no point.
And they're like, well, how come women don't want a scrimmage man?
Why the fuck would they do that?
They have a job to do.
Yes, exactly.
They get paid to do the sport.
You don't.
You're at home.
You get nothing from beating some random.
Yeah, exactly.
What do we get, you know?
I gain nothing.
That's the thing to, like, that, like, that's the peak of, like, when it just started
to get better for the women.
Exactly.
But, like, men used to bash women's basketball, like.
All the time.
All the time.
Yes, ESPN post something, like, regular ESPN?
Yeah.
Why are we posting about women?
We don't care.
Yeah.
Bleacher reports.
same thing.
They need to be cooking.
They need to be cleaning.
Like, why they're not pregnant right now?
Yeah.
It's like,
you know what I'm saying?
It's nothing original.
It's all fucking terrible.
1800s jokes about women.
I'm like, okay.
Y'all think this is funny?
Like, y'all really think this is funny.
I know.
Sometimes when men attack me, I'm like,
the most offensive thing about this
is you thought this was funny.
Right.
Like, you think this hurts my feelings?
That's not even funny.
You went out your way.
All out your way,
just to have a bad joke.
Yeah.
All that work and for nothing.
I feel like that's a huge reason, too, why women are so, like, female athletes are so unfazed by that shit because that's all they've heard forever.
So every time I've talked to a female athlete and I ask them about that too, they're always like, nah, whatever.
Yeah.
Men are not like that.
Like, when men get critiqued, like, a lot of times they get very angry and they feel like they have to prove themselves.
And that's the sad part, but also the kick-ass part about women is they're kind of like, well, of course they're going to say.
that. They work at State Farm. Of course they're going to say that. They're mad at me.
That testosterone, Drew, that testosterone gets them going.
Yeah, Zaya told me, she's like, sometimes when I would scrimmage them and, like, just
an LA fitness or something, like, I just go and I play, they start playing like their scouts
watching and I'm like, all-star game. They're like, just in case someone's watching that
could draft me. I got to really show out. I guess this WMBA player. Your time's past.
It's also so not true.
Like I'm like, I think that because some were like, oh, well, women are naturally shorter than men.
In the WNBA, they are not short.
That is one thing they aren't.
Yeah.
What the fuck?
Like, the shortest player is like 5'9.
And that's taller than most men.
True.
So.
That's taller than the average women, too.
Do you all ever have men be like, how tall are you?
I'm probably about like around the same way.
Oh, my God.
All the time.
It's not even nine.
They'll come staying next to you and be like.
Right.
Boy, back up.
I do not know you.
They feel so, like, flexed on by your height.
How tall are you?
I'm six-four.
Oh, my God.
If I was six-four, man, I'd be dunking.
Okay.
It sounds like if you were six-eight, you couldn't dunk.
Right.
What are we talking about?
You worry about the wrong stuff.
You're living in a fantasy.
That's my favorite part, though, is that y'all are so unfazed by it
because you're used to it, unfortunately.
But also, like, I feel like women are so.
different in the way they handle shit like that like they're like ah that doesn't bother me because
i don't need to prove myself to you sorry i'm over it like it's not a big deal do you ever
anyone measure you not really i feel i mean i'm 511 so it's like people people come up to me and like
well then you probably have been like oh i'm like six two and then it's like they're same same height as
you're not six two exactly yeah because i'm six feet so sometimes men will be like oh i'm like six
six two six three and i'm like i'm looking down at your scale
help. Like, I don't think so. I'm gonna go ahead and lean towards now. Then I start telling people
I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, so you're probably like five, six. That's actually
a skill of mine. I can guess a man's height, like from a picture and nothing else. What's that about?
I think it's just my intense desire to hurt their feelings. Oh my God. I could smell height. Like,
I literally could look at a picture and be like, wow, like five eight. And I'm always right. Like,
I never miss. What a skill to help? All just strictly dubs on the board.
Literally.
That's my favorite part about seeing WNVB players in person is like they're,
they're all very tall for the most part.
They're super, super tall.
So when men see them, they're like,
right.
Well, whatever, bitch, I don't care.
If I didn't blow my knee out in high school, that could have been me.
They love that one.
They love high school.
Don't get them starting on high school.
What's been the coolest part of your journey so far playing basketball?
Obviously, you all still have some time in school,
so you got some time to work up to the W, but.
what has been the coolest thing that's come out of your career so far?
Probably just like some incredible experiences that have been able to have at such a young age.
I mean like, you know, I talked about like we traveled a ton for USA basketball.
I got to see all over the world.
Yeah, how was that?
It's cool.
It's like, but we went to Hungary and we went to Chile.
Yeah.
And then, yeah, just like we've been to Spain for USA basketball.
Just seeing like different cultures and being like in parts of the world that like you might not go to otherwise.
that has been such an incredible experience because it's like, you know,
we're able to do these opportunities and see these things just because of basketball.
Yeah, totally.
So it just makes me so grateful for the game, period.
Definitely.
Even, like, when we went to Chile, like, it was crazy because they lived in, like,
if it was an America, it could be poverty, like.
But they were so happy to just be alive and living and going to their day-to-day things.
Yeah.
I think, like, stuff like that makes you just, you know, be grateful for everything that you have.
Totally.
It's so beautiful to see because USA, like, anywhere, like basketball, sports, it's like picture autograph, picture autograph, security.
Like, it gets crazy.
So it's pretty cool.
Damn.
I think for me, though, I think just the people that I've met, like, most of my friends, probably all of my friends, like, literally I play basketball with me.
And we've just made so many connections and friendships I feel like will always just be there because of it.
And networking also, too, like this thing.
There's so many like broadcast.
If I want to go broadcasts, if I want to go do anything after basketball,
there's always somebody I can go talk to because I bounce that wall.
Yeah, totally.
And now that they, you're able now to like market yourself as like a person and, yeah,
a brand and be an athlete at the same time, that must be a huge weight off your shoulders too.
Especially because college athletes are like essentially employees of the school.
Like y'all are literally working for the school and making the school a lot of money
and bringing a lot of attention to the school.
So, God damn right.
You got to...
Yeah, I can only imagine, like,
your season upcoming this year,
your games are probably gonna go fucking the noodles.
We should have...
In attendance.
Yeah, two sellouts at Pauley.
Damn, that's cool.
South Carolina.
And USC.
And last year, I think we got our first sellout
in, like, history.
Oh, T.
So have two, like...
What do you all?
So when we have, like, to have three...
A rivalry game.
Two years, like, would be crazy.
Wait, did y'all play S&E?
Yeah, and that was a sellout, so.
Ooh, very cool.
The USC, wait, is it South Carolina?
Is that what you're saying?
Already sold out this year?
I don't think it's already sold out.
It's going to be.
It's going to be.
It's going to be.
I was going to say that's the only school I've ever done like a talk at, which I didn't,
I didn't realize at the time.
I was like, oh, this is the school that has the kick-ass women's basketball team.
I didn't realize it at the time.
They're not any shit over there.
That is the smallest little town in the world.
It looks like a fake town.
I felt like I was in like the Sims or some shit.
And that's what I'm not to do but besides playing basketball.
Literally.
Go game cocks.
I literally, I was like so blown away by how small everything was.
There was like, we landed at like 8 p.m.
And there was one restaurant and it was only open for like 20 more minutes.
I was like, what the fuck?
I was like, I don't, no wonder they're so good.
You're right.
They're locked in.
They ain't got shit to do over there.
They're locked in.
And that was the only airport I've ever been to where everybody was really nice.
Everybody was stone.
Everyone's like,
and how are you today?
Normally I get berated
at the fucking airport.
Everybody's in a bad mood.
Yeah, LAX,
you're not going to have a good day
with them at all.
At all.
What are your guys' goals
as far as like,
are y'all looking towards the W?
Is that something you're aiming for,
for sure?
Yeah, definitely.
Without a doubt,
that's just always been a goal.
Like, even out of a picture
of me like Lil Janiah,
like W and Babe Blair.
Like that's just,
yeah, you know what I'm saying?
I just think,
being a professional
and just waking
up playing basketball and not worrying about school is a, it's a dream.
Not worried about school.
Not worried about school, it's a dream.
Your own, when school's not tied to it, I'm in.
Right.
Can't wait.
And I'll get it paid.
I know.
It's hard, I feel like, to be a student athlete, especially when y'all are, like, so
incredibly busy all the time.
Like, y'all work your asses off.
I commend you.
Thank you.
Some people really don't understand, so I appreciate that.
It's hard.
Especially female athletes, like statistically female athletes.
Like statistically female athletes are always, they always do very well in school, especially compared to male athletes.
Like they make honor roll, they take more classes, they sometimes hold jobs outside of it.
So like y'all are kicking ass.
Thank you.
I appreciate y'all still on the grind.
Well, like I said, the boys, they get that one year and they be going to the league to get millions.
Yeah, they're like, I'm out.
See you.
We got to get a degree.
Got you all that.
Yeah.
Focus in.
Right.
It's only a couple spots in the dub.
You know what I'm saying?
So yeah.
I'm honestly really glad to that like so many people are being exposed to women's basketball for so many reasons.
But also especially because I feel like the NBA and any like a lot of NBA players are so, can be so supportive of women's basketball players.
That's what makes the least sense to me when I see men being so hypercritical and misogynistic towards women's basketball players because I'm like, your fave athlete loves her.
So what the fuck are we talking about?
I'm like, they literally personally endorse these women
and talk about how badass they are
and then men are like, but I bet I could shoot more threes than her
like on the fucking couch at home.
Like what are we talking about?
Yeah.
What are we discussing?
I think that's crazy too.
I think one person that really endorsed us a lot.
Well, he went to UCLA as well, but Russell,
like he always showed so much love him and his wife.
Yeah.
They show him so much love and support.
So I just want to say thank you if you guys watch this.
Yeah.
Even when I went to the All-Star game,
I saw like Kyler.
Murray was there.
Shannon Sharp was there.
Quarterback.
Cardinals.
For the Arizona Cardinals.
Yeah.
And Shannon Sharp was there, which he's like a fan too of the WMBA.
There's a lot of famous men there just sitting.
Courtside.
I don't know if you all know Jason Sudec is.
Yeah.
He's a huge.
He's a huge WNBA famous white guy.
Sorry.
I'm trying to think about the show.
Ted Lassel.
That's what it is.
You know that show.
You're so me.
Do you watch TV a lot?
Don't.
No, me.
I know the PS5.
Are you playing NCAA?
Yes.
Oh my God, I have to play it so bad.
I literally-
You play?
Hell yeah.
What do you play?
Well, hold on.
What's your console?
What console do you have?
PS5.
Okay, go ahead.
Don't look at me like I'm an Xbox bitch.
Just making sure.
Don't you dare.
Janaya, please.
Don't insult me like that.
You think I'm an Xbox 360 girl?
Plus you.
You were at.
Obviously, a PS5, obviously.
Okay, good.
Yeah, my boyfriend and I just bought NCAA.
And he started playing already, and I'm jealous.
Oh, yeah.
It's an addiction.
It has to be.
Have you played?
No, I play only play college duty.
Oh, gee, nice.
Are you good?
Yep, be five.
I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
I'm trying to work on my game.
I started really locking in on Call of Duty for a while, but then I got bored, so
then I was like, but I can't play unless I'm good, so that's why I really need to.
You know what I mean?
It gets hard.
Like, what do you play?
Like, what game modes?
College, just team death match?
Like, Warzone.
I did, yeah, I did Warzone the most when I initially was playing.
The war zone's hard.
Yeah.
I know.
And then I was like, I got to be really good.
Especially when I hear shit, talky little white kids on there.
I was like, I got to be good.
For real.
I was like, I got to get really good.
I got to get better.
I got to put my hours in.
And then it starts taking over my life.
It takes time, though.
Literally.
It takes so much time just to get good in that game, like, for real.
But okay, back to college football.
Yeah.
You play football?
You play Madden?
Yeah, I've played Madden for, like, my boyfriend plays Madden more than I do.
But I did play for a while.
But he's really good at it.
It's okay.
No, I never played 2K
I would love to make the little guy in there though
One time I saw a tweet that said like
Men are so homophobic
But then they'll spend
Like nine hours straight
Building their dream man in 2K
No literally
Literally my guy looks nothing like them
He's so cute guy crush on me
That
I know
It looks nothing like him
And it's like just their dream man
They'll just customize him in 2K
I can't wait to build my guy in NCAA.
Oh, yeah.
They did a good job this year.
There's a couple cute faces.
Do you watch TV shows, anything like that?
I watch a little bit of TV.
I watch more sports than TV.
Really?
Hearing they all get into a show.
Other than basketball, do you have a favorite sport to watch?
Football, yeah.
T.
T.
Who's your favorite team?
Do you have one?
I mean, I like the commanders because that's where I'm from D.C.
Oh, yeah.
Baltimore.
And they're good.
Yeah, but I just love watching football too.
T. Yeah, like my dad played in the NFL for a spell for a little bit.
I worked for the NFL for a little bit also.
Got fired.
Oh.
That's okay.
On the back words.
Why are you?
Look at you now.
Yeah, one thing they were not counting on is me doing this.
When they fired me, they did not think they were ever going to see me again.
Unfortunately, they have.
So I know I did the Pro Bowl last year for the NFL, which was pretty fun.
but they really didn't want me there.
They fought too thin nail to try and get me removed.
Too late.
Still got to go.
But yeah, I'm a big football fan.
Even when I went to the All-Star game this weekend,
I was thinking I was like, I love sports.
I like forgot how much I love watching live sports
because I've been being a dickhead on the internet for a while now,
so I haven't really gotten to watch any games live.
But when I watched, I was like, this is fucking awesome.
I love basketball, more specifically watching women play.
My women's team in college, too, was pretty good.
also they were way better than my men's team.
I went to the University of Hawaii.
Okay.
Yeah, so my women's basketball team there was way better than my men's team,
but the men's team always had more people there, which made no sense to me.
Always went further than them in Marchmontis.
No one cared.
Like, that's the type of show where I'm like, you guys just don't get it.
Yeah.
Y'all don't get it.
And my boyfriend had a fucking blast at the game.
Really?
He was geeking and tweaking that whole game.
He was like, yeah!
And he was like, okay, okay.
I was all, relax.
Hey, calm down.
She can't hear you.
I say that, but every time a Riquet made something, I was like, yeah.
I was getting swept up in the fandom of it all.
I meant watching it live was even crazier.
Oh, my God, it was so fucking fun.
Yeah, I was there too.
And it was, oh, you were there too?
Oh, T.
You probably had a better seat than me.
It was hella hot there, though, in Arizona.
Girl, that heat was sinful.
I felt like I was like walking through mud.
I was like, why do I feel like I'm pushing beaded curtains every time I felt like I was going like swimming through it.
How hot was it?
What did it say?
It's like 105.
Yeah, it was like one.
It was like when we landed, what time did we land?
We landed at like 10 or 11 in the morning and it was like 109 outside.
I'm like, all right.
Cannot be outside.
Nasty heat.
The people that sent me, they were like, um, we called a car, but like if you guys want to walk, you can't because we were like two blocks.
I was like, oh, no, I'll wait.
Yeah.
No, I'm good.
Even when we first landed, we were like, let's go to a store or something.
And my boyfriend was mapping it.
And I'm like, well, do you know which direction to go?
Because it's hot outside.
And he goes, yeah.
And then we go outside.
We're standing in the heat.
And I go, okay, which way?
He goes, I think it's, I just turn around in a walk.
I'm not for the plate.
Yeah.
I'm not.
You're playing in my face and I don't like it.
I was like, that's literally why I fucking said, find out before we leave the air.
Find out before we leave the air conditioning.
Because I'm not a fan.
of that.
But y'all, you grew up in D.C., you grew up in Atlanta.
So it's hot there.
Bro, no.
And humid, now?
Texas?
Texas?
It's hot.
Like, I feel like Texas and Arizona might be like the same type of, like, dry heat.
Yeah, it's like, dry heat.
Because, like, out there I'd be on my scooter.
I'm looking for it breathe.
It's hot air.
Just hitting you all real.
Yeah.
I'm like, no, I can't get down with that.
No, no, no.
It's just humid in D.C.
And D.C. it's so humid.
Like this summer, honestly, it might be worse in like Arizona
because it's like, it's 90, 95 degrees, whatever, but it's like humid.
So when you step outside, you're sweating.
Immediately.
Yeah, like Florida.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like Florida.
Or Nashville.
I went to Nashville for the first time, like a couple years ago.
Very, as soon as I landed, I'm like, this air feels racist.
Because it is.
Because, and it was.
But when I landed, it was like two in the morning.
And it was 1002.
and it was like 80% humidity.
Yeah, no, I'm good.
Apparently, when I thought we were outside
because their airport is so big,
I was like, oh, I thought we were outside already.
When we actually went outside, I was like,
oh, they felt like I was standing in front of a heater.
I was so annoyed about it that I asked the driver,
I'm like, is it always like this here?
Or like, you guys just choose to live in this shit?
This is crazy.
And he's like, yeah, it's been pretty bad the last few summers.
One or two at 2 a.m.
It's crazy.
In the middle of the night.
Right, the sun's night.
even though.
Yeah, I know.
What's crazy to is when we flew there, we flew southwest.
We're just fine.
But like, that's okay.
But they had no air on that plane.
And I, the way I was, no air.
I was spitting my ass off in my fucking chair.
And I'm sitting in between my sister and my boyfriend.
My boyfriend's a big dude.
Like he's a six four like Samuind dude.
So he's wide.
And so I'm sitting and I'm like, I'm sweating so bad.
I'm in such a bad mood.
I went into the bathroom
and I literally just pulled my pants down
just so I could cool off.
I didn't even have to go.
Oh, it was terrible.
It was terrible.
Although the shit you're having me do
because I am so hot is crazy.
No air.
I didn't know my sister was like,
what were you doing in there?
And I was like,
I just went to pull my pants down
to do because I was so hot.
I was standing there like Winnie the Pooh, bitch,
just with my pants around my ankles
just trying to cool off.
I'm just trying to get some breeze up there.
Shit.
It's hot.
Fuck. I'm like, speaking of pants down.
Okay, here's a perfect transition into our topic.
Okay, so our topic, we're going to talk about
unpacking why someone on the internet get weird
about dating female athletes, right?
Obviously, you're already wiped up.
Gay.
Yeah.
On top of that gay, obviously.
Are you taken?
No.
Okay, you're single.
Yeah.
Okay, single pringle.
Well, then maybe you can relate to this, and then we could just all laugh about it.
Right.
I'm like, I'm taken two, but I'll make fun of men regardless.
I don't give a fuck.
I love that.
I was like, also, I tell this to all my,
my friends who are on the show at all.
Like, if they are single,
I'm like, if you are single, like, plug it.
Like, you've had someone you want,
let them know.
You have a crush?
Nah, no, no.
I'm like, get bold, get brave.
Ooh, girl, Kiki, girl, she don't hush that mouth.
Okay.
All right, so this first video is,
in this video, a female tennis player,
she's saying there's seriously nothing more annoying than when you're talking to a guy and tell him you're an athlete and the first thing he says is oh i bet i can beat you and she talks about how she's had countless conversations with guys like that where they tell her they think they could beat her in her sport and as a way of hitting on her so it's kind of the same thing as the love and basketball shit it's like knock it off right hey tennis yeah well hers is tennis yeah tennis is hard girl that i have never had first of all the worst calf cramps in my life and second of all
ran so fucking much.
I was like, am I even an athlete at all?
Sideways, like sideways running that much?
Yeah, like, I played tennis for fun.
Like, well, it wasn't fun.
Hence the reason I haven't played again.
But I was like, this is exhausting.
I can't fucking do this shit.
I was like, I thought for sure.
Yeah, it's definitely not a sport you just pick up
and you're going to beat someone and who plays, like, not at all.
Yeah, did you ever see that?
I think it was, I can't remember if it was Venus or Serena,
but one of them, they, like,
they asked these men who thought they could beat her in tennis.
And I want to say it was Serena.
And then there was like five or six dudes.
And they were like, yeah, I think if I like, you know, just kind of gave it my all,
I could beat her.
And then they brought them in to come play tennis, but she was there too.
And so she played each of them individually.
And she was giving it maybe half a percent.
And she was fucking douche, douche, like over and over again.
And then they're running all over the place.
They're sweaty.
They're pink because most of them are white.
And then she played all of them at the same time.
And she was like laughing.
and just hitting every single wall.
She just didn't break a sweat once.
She's just giggling and going back and forth.
And I was like, aren't you humiliated?
Like that guy, that girl on TikTok who said,
she's a track star.
Like she runs sprints in college.
And her, like, boyfriend's friend used to talk shit to her all the time and be like,
oh, I could probably beat you.
I could probably beat you.
So then she raced him.
And then she fucked all damn near lapped him.
But then when she did it, she invited all his friends and family and hers.
So they could all.
watch from the bucket states.
No, track though, them track, like D1 track.
Girl, you're out of your mind.
Don't you ask to race them.
Are you fucking dumb?
Yeah.
You know, they do this for a living.
Yeah.
When I was getting shit, like, because when I defended the WNBA and like female
basketball players, I had so many men under 5-8 getting really mad at me.
And they were like, well, who the fuck are you to comment?
I'm like, I'm just as qualified as you.
Not at all.
Like, you don't see me saying that shit.
I'm not sitting here saying I could be Caitlin Clark in a three-point shoot.
I'm not the one saying that shit you are because I know I couldn't.
Right.
I'm so surprised that how much you hate men that you're not gay.
Like, I'm so surprised.
I get that a lot, believe it or not.
So like, did it not?
Did you try?
Like, did you ever go?
It just wasn't for you.
In college, I tried.
Because I thought for sure.
You was gay.
Yeah.
Because I was like, I hate me.
Yeah, I was like, they disgust me.
Everything about them.
Right.
Hate it, hate it, hate it.
And I love women so much.
Right.
I love women.
I think they're so beautiful.
and amazing and talented and smart.
I think all of those things.
And then I tried and it didn't work.
And I was like, fuck.
Damn it.
So I'm not gonna talk about anything, but forbid.
Forbid, y'all break up.
I think you should try again.
Give it the old college try.
I'll sample it one more time.
See you.
Like wait, this is what she told me to do.
Then I'm gonna credit you.
Period.
Period.
Are you dating?
Is it hard to date as an athlete, Kiki?
It's a little bit hard.
Yeah.
just like, you know, people's intentions, all that type of stuff.
But, like, it's cool to be single, too, at the same time, you know what I mean?
Like, especially.
At this point in my life, you know?
Yeah.
Do you find yourself gravitating towards athletes?
Definitely.
Yeah.
I guess all the people that I'm around, like, all the guys that I'm around.
Yeah.
But at the same time, it's like, what would it be like to be with a normal dude?
You never know.
But no, like, all the people that I talk to you and stuff have been athletes, so.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was, I, I feel like in college, I was like, maybe I'll try dating a different kind of guy wrong.
Yeah.
I, like, can't not date an athlete.
Like, my boyfriend now is, he played college football, like, for a long-ass time.
So he, like, was an athlete his whole life.
And so his biggest ick is someone unathletic.
That's, like, his biggest ick.
Like, he's like, and it's not a mean way.
I just, like, I can't do it.
Like, I can't date someone that's unathletic.
Like, one time we were, I forget where we were.
We were like in New York or something.
And I was getting out of a car and I, it had been raining.
So I like stepped on water and I slipped, but I caught myself.
And so then I was like, you see that shit?
Athlete.
Right?
And we were like laughing.
And then my boyfriend told me later he goes, honestly, I probably would have gotten the ick if you fell.
Probably would have gotten the ick.
I was like, all right.
Well, I didn't.
So don't worry about it.
Come on.
Yeah.
I'm not new to this.
I'm true to this.
If it wasn't, if it's not an athlete, like what, business guy?
An artist.
Right, artist.
I don't know if I can do artists.
You've got to have money.
Yeah.
Probably business, yeah.
Yeah, probably business.
Right, yeah.
Yeah, I feel that though.
Especially for y'all, like, you guys have been athletes your whole life.
So it's like, it almost feels like sometimes you don't have anything in common with people that aren't athletes.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
So you're like, what would we talk about?
Yeah.
What do we talk about?
When I stopped playing sports and went to college just like as a normie, as a civilian, that's what I called myself.
I'm like, I went as a civilian.
NARP, yeah.
Yeah, Narp, yeah.
Yeah, when I went, I truly was so like, well, I guess I have to learn how to make friends that are not athletes.
Like, I just gravitate towards them so naturally.
So I was like, okay, well, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I never had spare time.
Like, all throughout high school, I never had spare time.
What were you used to play?
I played soccer, actually.
Really?
My whole life.
I was a center defender.
Okay.
On the left.
All right.
Yeah.
I played basketball was one of the few that I wasn't very good at, shockingly.
like my dad was my coach when I was young
like me and my sister were on the same team
and my sister is 5-4 by the way
so don't know how that works but like
I was 5-4 when I was 10 so I got big really early
and so my dad's like my dad's favorite sport is basketball
so he's like loved basketball his whole life
and he's like okay this is my this is my basketball girl
like this is her and I went and I was not very good
I wasn't good so much so my dad didn't even play me
oh I hated you
No, my dad didn't even play me.
My dad would put me in the last, like, two minutes of the fourth quarter.
I was like, damn, cold world.
I'm so sorry.
And honestly, I think it's because there was so much running that I was like sprinting,
that I was kind of like, hey, I hate this.
And my dad-
You're soccer.
I know, that's all my-
You get to walk, though.
Yeah, like, it's like almost like cross-country running versus like sprinting.
And I just was like, ah, I don't want to do it.
Like, I would be like, ah, I just don't care.
And then my dad was like, forget.
get it. So that was mainly soccer, but then I played volleyball in high school.
I loved volleyball. That was like my vacation sport.
Soccer was my job. So then volleyball, I was like, this is fun.
What did you play in volleyball? I played outside hitter.
Oh, you was, you was, yeah. Okay. It was again a big bitch, so I got to be right there.
Not big enough to be a middle, but big enough to be outside. Yeah. What about y'all?
Did you play any other sports in high school or anything? Anything different?
I did soccer. I did lacrosse actually.
Ooh, how is that?
I loved it actually.
Really?
Like, if you're fast, yes.
Yeah.
But if you're fast, like, all you do is really run down and then, like,
women's across, they can't hit you like that.
They can hit you with the thing.
Well, they can hit you, like, they can hit your stick.
But, like, they can't, like, come in your space, really and, like, hit your body and
stuff.
So I just run by.
Oh, he was nice.
They can't really do that much.
They can't catch you?
Yeah, no, not really.
Yeah.
It was fun, actually.
It's really fun.
The cross is, like, what?
It's like, it's like a sport.
It's like.
It's like soccer.
It's like hockey.
It's like.
It's kind of like hockey and soccer combined.
Yeah, like soccer, like the movement, like the movement of it.
And I like hockey.
I don't know really did hockey, but like watching type.
Yeah.
Do you ever play any other sports?
No.
I ran track.
Oh, nice.
I ran track, but it was like outside is not really fun.
It's not for you.
I love air conditioning and basketball.
That's where I say.
So, yeah, no.
What runs did you do in track?
So I did the 4x1, the 2, and then I did it.
The 400 is around once, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, I did that one.
The 4x4 or just a 400.
Oh, damn.
I didn't win that much.
But, oh, I did shot putt and discus.
So did I in high school.
That was fun.
That was fun.
That was fun.
My mom was a very, like, you have to be in a sport every season.
Uh-huh.
And I played travel too.
So I did volleyball in the fall.
I did soccer in the winter and then in the spring.
I was like, she says, we got to join track.
And I'm going to, fucking run.
And so my sister was like, I think I'm going to do throwing.
I was like, okay, me too.
Because then I don't have to run.
Me too, me too, me too, same, same, same.
And then we were both on varsity together.
And our coach used to get so annoyed at us because, like, I just like, I like being funny
for it.
Like, that's like my shit.
I like to make jokes both of us do.
So we would just make each other laugh the whole time and he's like, separate.
I need to separate you too.
But I didn't give a fuck about throwing at all.
I just wanted to letter, which I did.
Oh, letters like the jacket?
Yeah, like you get the letter for varsity.
I was like, okay, lettered, cool.
And then the next one, I was like, I just like stay busy.
And my mom doesn't get mad at me for not being in a sport.
And so like I would dick around, but I would do just enough to stay on varsity.
And then whenever someone started getting a little too good on JV and they might replace me, I was like, oh, fuck.
I got a lock in.
I got a clock back in.
And then I had to start trying hard.
Right.
And throwing it's hard.
You don't know if you can.
My sister did throwing with me too
and she set like a school record for discus.
And then she got like an offer to like a small school for discus.
And she only threw for like three months.
And then they were like, you should take it, you should take it.
She was like, nah.
Not for me.
I hate that idea.
She's like, nah, I'm good.
I'm good.
I can not do.
Yeah, running's not.
Yeah.
Running is crazy.
People are living.
Also, too,
like I have track athletes, friends
like back in Texas A&M.
Yeah.
Like, even if they're sprinters,
they're running like 800s in practice.
Like,
they're running the whole time in practice.
And they look great.
They look amazing.
They just,
I can't relate.
I'm like,
oh, give that to me without having to run.
Yeah.
Give that to me without having to run.
Yeah, their bodies are beautiful.
They look fucking awesome.
Okay, wait, let's get back to this tennis video.
Okay, so this one,
we just totally, you know.
That's okay.
These are just comments on that video that says,
give me a week of practice and I can be any female athlete at their sport.
Damn, only a week.
A week is crazy.
That's confident.
What he looked like?
I wish I could see.
Hold on.
He has a picture of Troy Bolton as his profile picture.
So that's not giving, it's not very promising, is it?
Red flag.
Them having Troy Bolton be a basketball star and he's like, he's five, six.
We are boys.
Like, why is Troy Bolton?
profile pictures.
No shame.
Well, basketball team, obviously.
Right.
And Troy was doodle in high school musical.
He was terrible.
He was quite bad.
Do y'all ever watch basketball in movies and like cringe at it?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How bad it is the acting too?
Have you all seen the remake of White Man Can't Jump with Jack Harlow?
Yeah.
It was actually really good.
I'm shocked, but he was actually really good in the movie.
But like, did you watch the basketball at all?
Did it make you cringe at all?
It's just the way they film and choreograph
like sports.
They're not trying to get a lot of shots to where it's like,
you can see them play basketball like, you know?
It's like, okay, got right past and lay up.
It's so unrealistic.
Yeah.
Give you cute.
I always think that with professional athletes, I'm like,
I wonder if they watch sports movies and think like,
that would never happen.
Or they look at how someone's built and you're like,
you're not an athlete.
You should not be out there.
You should not be out there.
Yeah, you should not be playing basketball.
That's why even in high school musical,
like he was like 5-6
like 5-6-7
I'm like in the NBA
I don't know about that girl
I know about that girl
I was like the guys
the guys who mop the sweat are taller than that
what the fuck like and even then
like he's being recruited by like all these huge
D-1 schools I'm like
I don't know if I believe it
should keep singing
I'd lean more towards the arts
I would lean into that if I were
you. Okay, this next one says, I don't even play tennis and I beat D1 girls at just anything or
that guy's this color. So, maybe just be saying, surprise, surprise. They just be saying anything,
honestly.
Yo, Keeke, can you crack? This one says, do the girls really think that they would beat a man?
Only exception is if they have zero athleticism. I'm assuming men if they don't have.
Well, that's not true because men who are not athletic talk shit on women all the
who are athletes.
I don't really understand
where they're coming from.
Like some men I'm like
you couldn't even make
varsity in high school
what are we talking about?
JV. Down.
JV. Down.
It's like you're that guy
who like gives the speech
in the locker room like
come on guys
we have to take this serious.
I was like you could never hang
with athletes
they would hurt your feelings
before they even play you
they would hurt your feelings.
Especially with the guys.
And this next video
this is in this video
boyfriend and girlfriend
bodybuilder duo both are posing in competition form while wearing formal clothes,
jokingly on their way to a date night with the captioned swolemates.
Men in the comments had a lot to say.
I'm assuming about the woman who's a bodybuilder.
Do you know anything about bodybuilding?
I mean, I know they don't get periods.
That's all I know.
Yeah, the men and the women.
Can you believe it?
I do know that.
Your body fat is so, like, low that they don't even get periods.
Yeah, that is.
That's very interesting that that's the only thing you know about that.
Education.
Yeah, they do.
Bodybuilding is so fascinating to me because they are truly torturing themselves
to the point that they compete.
Yeah.
Like, they'll, when they're in competition, like, prep, like, the week before their show,
they'll eat, like, 900 calories a day,
and they'll do like four hours of cardio
just to prep for the actual day.
They take water pills,
which sucks all the water out of them
so that they are as lean as possible.
Like their muscles are just suctioned to their skin.
How much they get paid?
$0 and $0.0.
But they spend thousands to do it.
Like it costs a lot of money to bodybuild.
So like if you do make money,
you're at like Olympia level.
Like you're at the level where it's like one of eight in the world
type ever won kind of deal, that's when you start making money.
But like, but every other round before that, zero dollars, zero cents.
Honestly, and it's funny is my dad did a bodybuilding competition for the first time last year, last year, just to see if he could do it.
Like my dad was like, I just want to see.
Because my dad turned 50 and then was like, my dad's 6, 6, he's a big dude.
So he was like, I just want to see if I can do it.
So my dad essentially did it with like no help for like three, four months.
Like he had, towards the end, he finally got a coach that was like,
able to work with him.
And my dad won, like his whole thing.
And then he goes, yeah, I'm over it.
Yeah.
And I'm like, an athlete.
Like someone who made it and doesn't need to prove anything anymore and was like,
oh, I just want to see if I could.
And I did it.
Yeah.
I did it.
And I won, period.
I feel like athletes are so confident like that.
They're just kind of like, I just want to see.
Well, it just depends on how much work you put in.
If you don't put no work in, you don't get no results.
Exactly.
You know what I can tell you not to say.
Period.
Okay, so on this one, this one just says, okay, there's a point where when a woman works too much, it starts to look too masculine.
I'm sure they say that about all female athletes.
Any female athlete at all, they're like, too masculine.
I'm like, okay, well, she, first of all, like, sometimes I think, like, especially with WNBA players, do you ever get hit on by men?
It's a look.
It's never, uh, like actually approach.
It's always like, it's always like that.
Yeah.
And then you go,
Right.
Get on my ears.
I go grab my girlfriend and then grab her real quick.
Give her a kiss.
Stop looking.
I've talked to some of my friends who are athletes.
They're like, yeah, that's weird.
And they're tall too.
Like women's basketball players are fucking tall.
And then one of my friends was telling me about it.
She's like, yeah, some guy fucking hit on me.
She's a mask lesbian.
And she's a basketball player.
She's like, yeah, this guy fucking hit on me.
And I was so confused.
Because like, I was like, did you tell him?
We're wearing the same outfit.
You're barking up the wrong tree.
Bitch, we're dressed the same.
We both have a mullet.
Get out of my face.
What is that about?
What makes you think that she wants you?
She's taller than you and you're wearing the same size shoe.
Get out of her face.
I really want to ask a man about that for real though.
Because that's normal.
Yeah.
Men like think that masculine women that are lesbians are attracted.
I don't know like what that's about.
No shade.
I don't know if it's gay.
I don't know if it's like, it's just confusion or something.
Maybe like every, they have a, they have a vagina.
So like that's what it is.
Yeah.
Sometimes I think it's like a, it's like a I could change her thing.
It's like an entitlement.
Like they're like, oh, I could probably.
I wouldn't count on it.
So I was like, y'all are dressed the same and he's asking for a number.
Scary.
And I'll give you a number to a therapist.
Get away from me.
Okay, this one says, and my girl was swole like that and looked like a man I would not date.
We'll see the operative there is if, which.
which means you're single, so you should worry about that.
Next comment.
She's strong, but it makes her look less attractive, not going to lie.
Blah, blah, blah.
I bet.
I guarantee it.
Even like, I mean, I don't even, sometimes I think, too, I'm like,
y'all just think because of how they think of women, how they see women overall,
especially athletes, like, you think you're stronger than every woman,
you think you're bigger and more talents than every.
I can't imagine that kind of confidence.
Like, I need that kind of delusion in my life sometimes.
That's just the internet, though.
You know how to end it'd be lying.
Yeah, that's true.
Their ego is, like, so much bigger than it really is.
If you met them in person, I bet they five, two, and hate, they lie.
All behind the keyboard.
Yeah, for real.
Like, they feel real brave behind the keyboard.
Sometimes, like, a man will attack me, and then I'll tell them, like, hey, send me a picture, what you look like?
I just want to see.
And then they're like, what would that prove?
That you're ugly.
That's the only point I'm trying to prove.
I told the guy once, like, send me a picture.
I want you to tweet a picture.
of you standing next to your mom's fridge.
I want to say how to tell you are.
Just stand next to your mom's fridge.
I want to see.
He's like, what would that prove?
You're a fat bitch.
That's what I thought.
Five, four.
That's what I thought.
Where did the hate from the men, like,
originate, though?
Like, what really got you to to the point?
He was like, like, I hate them.
Me?
Yes.
I don't know.
Have you ever hung out with one?
Right.
I think more than anything, when I got older,
I just hated seeing how entitled they felt to women in general.
And I was like, you know what?
No one else is going to do it.
so I'll be mean to you.
Absolutely, I'll be mean to me too.
I'm so fucking mean to men all the time.
Sometimes people ask me, they're like,
something happened that like just triggered you?
I was like, no, have you ever spent time with one?
They're infuriating.
Sometimes, like, I was at the gym like a few weeks ago.
And the gym I go to my boyfriend used to work at
and I know all the people who work there.
So for the most part, they leave me alone.
Like nobody bothers me, nobody asks me for pictures like nothing.
They just leave me alone, which is really nice.
So, like, I went there and I can always tell when there's a new guy in there.
because if it's a guy like that sees me by myself and just doesn't know who my boyfriend is or anything, he'll like approach me.
And this one guy was like, my bad.
Don't want to interrupt.
Like he like tried to bump into me, love in basketball, trying to love and basketball me.
And then I was like, what?
And then he was like, don't want to ruin your work.
You look real focused.
I was like, you didn't.
And I just put my headphones back on.
I was in a bad mood the rest of the day.
I was in a bad mood the whole day.
Like nothing happened.
But like I was just telling him like, they just.
piss me off.
That was ill, though.
That was icky, though.
Like, that was very icky.
No game.
No game.
Didn't mean.
In the rest of it.
You didn't.
Excuse me.
Excuse me.
Yeah, my, I've like the straightest face.
I was, I was literally at a grocery store checking out.
And this guy was like asking me too many questions.
You know, when they check you out, they're kind of like, how's your day going?
Good.
Good.
That's it.
He's like, and he's going slur.
And he goes, so what do you have to?
to now.
None of your fucking business, first of all.
I was like, nothing much.
He goes, what did you do today?
Girl, if you don't ring up my mango and put it in there immediately.
And then he's like, the last, I go, he goes, what do you do for a living?
I was like, oh, I just worked all day.
He goes, what do you do for a living?
I'm like, nothing interesting.
Because I'm trying not to talk.
And then at the end, he goes, hey, well, as long as you love what you do, I guess it doesn't matter, right?
I'm going to pull out a gun
Put my fucking shit in that back
Like the way I'm like
If you ask me one more question
I'm gonna light this bitch up
And that's just me being honest
That's why I was like
I guess
Bad mood the rest of the day
You can't let them take you out your mood
Okay
It's true
Don't let them take
Because that means they got
Giving them power
Yeah
T
T
T
Now I'm never gonna get mad again
Period
Period
Okay to wrap us
I would love to know
What is
you all's best piece of advice for young women who are maybe wanting to play basketball
and they see like how popular women's basketball is now and they like maybe they're feeling
nervous about it or maybe they're excited like what would you all say is your best piece of advice
for young female athletes coming up I would say like be confident in whatever you do and like now are
at the point in women's basketball in this game where like the popularity the growth of the game
it's something that's very accepted but I think like there's still yourself.
going to encounter opportunities where you like you get hate for playing basketball or like you feel
some sort of like resistance to doing so but I think like be confident in that and know that like
you have an army of people behind you and this game is only going to get better because you play it
and because you grow this game. Love. Period. I would say just to make sure you put the work in,
like always the work is going to show like no matter how little you think it is, no matter how minute
you think that little run you did for like, you know, for like two minutes, two hours, whatever.
Like the work is going to always show, always be consistent in what you do.
Have confidence in yourself.
Don't let anybody take that confidence from you and continue to believe in yourself.
And always give yourself models or like something just to reset and always give yourself affirmation.
I got self-love on me.
I have I'm proud of you on me.
Oh, that's cute.
Love that.
Just always tell yourself the best thing because you are your number one supporter and your number one, like,
person. It's you versus you, literally. So always know that no matter what, it's you versus you
and always have your confidence and just be consistent. And the work will always show as long as you
put it in. Period. Love that. Thank you all so much for coming on the show. Y'all are so fun.
I'm rooting for an amazing season for y'all. I got to come to a game. Yeah, I have to. I met quite a few
