What's something you miss doing before this happened?
Because there are some things I miss.
I'll give you one.
Drugs.
Excuse me.
Drugs.
Oh, I still do that.
Drugs in public.
That's what I, that's what I miss.
It's just like, rolling up at the park.
Rolling up being a fucking freak at the bar and like, or like making out with someone at the bar.
Oh, yeah.
Or.
I was going to say the movies, but sure.
Movie or movies.
Everyone and welcome back to another episode of.
the comment section show starring me your fave who cares about me on to the guest today we have
one of the most highly requested and one of the most iconic legends in music right now the one and only
chapel run welcome to the show miss chapel thank you you have been highly highly requested wow really
yeah and since i run a dictatorship i decide who comes so i said i already asked her next yeah my desk
i had to immediately say yeah oh my gosh i'm so honored i'm so glad to be here i'm so happy to have
you you are on a meteoric rise right now girl i'm so happy for you thank you how do you feel other than
exhausted uh scared and also um yeah i was tired and scared sometimes um but it's nice to be able to like pay my rent
and like pay for my friend's dinner if you know totally that's like never that's like the best part
yeah it's like okay yeah i can come to a movie like that's i like never have had that yeah well
I'm so happy for you. I've been a fan
of you for a very long time.
I also have to tell you I have a whole team
of lesbians, in-house lesbians.
I know. Everyone who works with me and for me is gay.
I can tell.
You peeped. She clocked
that tea, all of you gay women
behind the camera.
And we've all been really big fans to you.
So we've been fans to you for a long time well before
this year, so I'm so happy and proud of you.
But I'd love to know I'm very familiar
with your lore. But I would love if you could
share with the people, just a little
bit of your lore like how you got into singing how you got into drag more specifically i'm sure you know
i have lots of drag queens i'm collecting them like infinity stones i i heard you say that line on alaska
thunder fucks yeah yeah i do i love her i love her i love her last night i like loved it so much
um my lore yeah i'm sure it's riveting what's so sick is that people are so stupid online and they're
like industry plant industry plant industry and it's like this is like 10th year like I was like
you've been doing music for a long time like professionally like was signed in high school yeah um
should be illegal that's weird looking back but like 10th year and after just years and years
pushing and pushing um I'm from like southern Missouri and like moved to L.A and it's just the most
cliche story ever.
But yeah, 2020, ran out of money.
Moved back in with my parents.
Working the drive-thru.
Got drop on my label.
Broke up with someone I thought
was going to marry. Man.
Oh, man.
Wasn't going to work out regardless.
Yeah.
And then
I just started like,
I just really was like, I'm going to do
the pop thing. And I'm just going to go for it.
And I have no money.
and I really like drag in like all these like weird Gucci looks but I can't afford that so I'm just
gonna go to thrift stores and start thrifting things I think are ridiculous and that would be that would
make my 10 year old self really happy yeah so my whole life and career change when I did like inner
child work and I think that's why that's like why my career like skyrocketed because I started to
just like have fun and like be glittery and
not take it seriously. Yeah and be more authentic to who you really are. I think that's what people
latch on to. Like when I, I dedicated my project to honoring my inner child and like that's when
it started working. Love. Which is like so affirming that like you have all the, it all in you. You
know what I mean? Totally. So now I'm here. I like this year has been the most insane year ever. I can't
Yeah, for you is crazy.
I never ever even expected, like, radio.
And, like, it's just so crazy to, like, I'm on the radio.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
Absolutely.
Yeah, like, opened up for Olivia Rodriguez for two months this year.
I started doing, like, festivals like Coachella and, like, Bonaroo and all these.
How was Bonaroo?
I went to Bonarroo for the first time last year, year before.
How was it?
A two billion degrees, girl.
The way I was like, this is, this heat is sinful.
Like this heat is, if there is a hell, if this, that's what it feels like.
Tennessee.
Yeah.
And the people there too.
But that's that.
At Banneroo, though, they're not like that.
No, they're not.
They're so nice.
Thrive in the heat and like camp in the heat.
They were so, I was like, I remember saying to when I was at Bonarroo two years ago, I was like, these are the nicest festival goers.
Like, everybody is so sweet and they're like, happy room.
Yeah, happy room.
They said to everyone and they're so nice and like sweet.
Everyone was real.
I was like, right.
in the heart of conservative country.
I know.
I know.
People love it, though.
Yeah.
Bonnery was hot.
It was 96 degrees at, and I was playing at 3 o'clock.
So, like, the beak of the hot, yeah, the sun.
And I was in full latex.
So that was hard.
Are you a sweater?
Do you sweat easily?
In latex, for sure.
It's like.
Your beat stayed nice and firm, though.
The beat is.
You have that down now.
It's so much makeup.
It's
Lacker.
Yeah.
Are you using air spun powder
Like old school drag?
Bitch,
I think I'm using clown makeup.
Like I think I'm like actually
That white,
I forget the name of it.
Yeah.
And then it's like clown white powder.
Yeah.
It's horrible.
I was going to ask you do your own drag?
A lot of the time.
A lot of times you do it yourself.
Like I just had a makeup artist for the first time on this, this literally like last month.
And before that I've always done my own makeup because I couldn't afford
it and I knew
I just like watched YouTube
and just worked on it
and got really good. Yeah
and now look it's a staple look
How many chapels do you think you're going to
see on Halloween? Probably a million
I'm hiding in how
You could probably blend if you went
If you dressed this chapel you're so
I walked around you oh no one would ever find you
I went to Pilates this morning
and the entire class
was full
and the instructor was like on the
microphone and she was like hello welcome you look just like chapel room do you know who that is
i was like no and i fucking hate her that's what you should have one time i well then okay i'll finish
this story then she was like blabbing about chapel room whatever um and then at the end she's like
you seriously look so much like her do you know who that is do you like her music and i was like
no she sounds like a bitch and i was just no i was part of me wants to be like
like what makes you think I would like her?
Like or like you know just to like make what are you trying to clock my tea?
What are you trying to say?
But I was like you know.
Not her being homophobic in bodies.
If anyone's going to be homophobic, it's me in every like.
Towards chapel.
Straight up.
But she didn't believe me when I said well it is because she's like, is it okay if I call
you chapel for fun?
She's like because you look so much like her.
And I was like I am.
Do you think it was one of those where they're pretending they don't?
Because she got really scared whenever she started to believe me.
She's like, near you're not.
And I was like, okay, I'm nowhere near you on the scale of being recognized or being a celebrity.
However, whenever fans do that pretending shit, which she, I'm sure she wasn't.
But I'm sure you've had ones that have like where they go, you look so familiar.
This just happened to me.
I went to Vegas for work.
And there was an attendant that was like checking key cards.
So I was just waiting at the bottom of the elevator with my boyfriend because my,
I was waiting for my family to come down.
And she was like, you look familiar.
And then I was like, I don't know, maybe.
And then she was, she goes, Drew.
And I go, yeah, she goes, I knew it.
I knew it.
I literally knew it.
And then she was just staring at me and it's quiet.
And then she goes, you're so much prettier in person.
And then I go, thank you.
Thank you.
And then she goes, I hope that didn't sound weird.
It did.
And she turned, actually, actually sounded rude is what it was.
But no, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
And that's why she was staring at me for so long because she thinks of me as a fuggo.
And then when she saw me in real life, she's like, that's not a fuggo.
That can't be her.
And then she goes, oh, it is you.
Wow, you're way better looking in person because you're a big thuggo on the internet.
That is.
That's my most complimented thing is that.
You're so much prettier in person.
That is so offensive.
That is true.
I thought so chappel, but apparently that's just my thing.
Yeah.
I was just like, like, that were to, that were to happen.
I was just like, what do you mean?
Yeah, sometimes I'm like, it's, what I just, do I just, like, photograph horribly?
Like, I don't know.
No.
No.
Even when you have no makeup on and you're just, like, yelling at the camera.
Period.
You still get gorge.
Oh, my God.
Thank you, Japuro.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
I think, what's the weirdest encounter you've ever had, like, being recognized?
Um.
I got some weird ones, so I can only imagine what yours are like.
I mean, Jesus.
Other than that lady harassing you today.
She said,
Admit it, you're a double ganger.
She just didn't believe me.
And I was like, it is.
And she's like, are you serious?
I'm going to freak out and cry.
And I was like, I'm leaving there.
Must not be that big a good one, because she didn't recognize you.
No, and then she just finally believed me and asked me for a photo, whatever.
And then I think the craziest one is like, I was just being a freak in Central Park.
As you do.
Like rolling around.
Can I say?
You look like someone that would roll around in central park.
Of course it did.
Oh, yeah, I know.
Like, I was just doing somersault, practicing a somersault.
Hadn't done a summer.
I hadn't done a summer.
I was like, I haven't done a somersault in like 10, 12 years.
But yeah, go ahead.
Go ahead.
Yeah, no.
I was trying to like finish.
Your somersaults.
Summer salts.
And like I was trying to learn how to do like a car wheel, but I was only doing like half of it.
And I had grass on my hands.
hair dirt all over all my whole body and this person like these like a twink and probably more gay
people um came up and they're like i was coming up from the somersault and they were like are you chaparone
and i was like no and they were like well can we get a photo with you just in case yeah and the girl was
like like did this and she was like it's not her don't ask for a photo and i was like it's like
It's me. And I was just like the most...
I feel like you...
Are you panicking under pressure?
I feel like you're panicking.
Because I'm like, there's leaves and dirt in my hair and on my skin.
Yeah, you're giving Tarzan.
Yeah, I would like, yeah.
Junkly boy.
Literally looked like a two-year-old because that's exactly what I was doing.
And I was like, okay, yeah, let's get a pick.
Yeah, we should do.
I love nothing more than taking a shirt on.
And so I was...
And sometimes I'll just ask fans to be like, can you not tell anyone that I'm here?
Yeah.
Because like, I don't want this shit to be.
weird. And they're like, yeah, yeah, of course, we get it. And so. And did they tell anyone? I don't know.
I left immediately after that. Yeah, you're like, get you not? And then you're like, they're
probably going to tell someone. Yeah. And then I'm like, I'm going, I'm going. Oh, yeah, I'm like, I'm,
oh, here's kind of a deep question I just thought of, but like, what's something you miss doing
before this happened? Because there are some things I miss. I'll give you one. I'm just going,
excuse me, drugs. Oh, I still do that. Um, drugs in public. That's, that's what I, that's what I,
T. T. It's just like.
just rolling up at the park.
Rolling up being a fucking freak at the bar
or like making out with someone at the bar.
Oh, yeah.
Or.
I was going to say the movies, but sure.
Or movies, but it's so dark.
People, you know.
But that's why I can't go to the movies anymore
because I feel like when I do,
everyone's watching me and not the movie.
Everyone's like this.
Like they're literally, if I'm facing this life,
I watch me like this.
The whole fucking movie.
Yeah.
The whole movie.
I can't watch movies anymore.
Especially in LA.
It's probably like the worst, right?
Yeah, so you miss making out with strangers and doing drugs.
Doing drugs.
In public.
I miss frolicing, obviously, because now I'm self-conscious to frolic.
And I'm...
You're being perceived while you frolic?
Nothing worse.
I miss, like, I miss probably just, like, being in Forever 21 and not being judged.
You know what I mean?
Sometimes I want to go to the H&M and I don't want to hear it.
And I don't want to fucking hear it.
I'm not going to buy anything.
Just want to browse.
I'm just looking around.
I do enjoy browsing in those like shops.
Yeah.
Because sometimes you find stuff and you're like, wow.
Dude, or thrifting.
That's what I miss.
I mean, I'm like in disguise most of the time.
Yeah.
But like I miss just like walking around being like by myself.
I guess being by myself is what I miss.
That's tea.
I was just telling someone that the other day, I like watch whenever I see creators
because I have a lot of friends who are creators that do like vlog like, oh, spend the day with me or whatever.
and I see them going to the mall and shit
I'm like man I watch it like
fucking tiny Tim
outside the restaurant like I'm like oh what it must be like
I can't do that anymore
and I literally was telling my boyfriend the other day
I'm like I miss being alone like I can't go
I can't do anything alone anymore and I wish I could
It's like dangerous
It is yeah
Especially for you for me it's like a lot of people calling me
You look way uglier on my phone but you're way better looking at person
I
I'm not true
But I
I feel
you. People have started to be freaks.
Yeah, they follow me.
Yeah, they follow. Like, follow, like,
like, no where my parents live and, like, my sister,
where's my sister works? Like,
all this weird shit. And I'm just like,
this is the time when I was,
like, a few years ago,
that I said if, if
stalker vibes, like, family
was in danger is when I would quit.
And, like, we're there. We're there.
Same. And so I'm just kind of like
in this battle of, like,
I've, like, pumped the break.
on honestly anything to like make me more known yeah it's like kind of a forest fire right now
just like being itself yeah and like but I'm not like I'm not trying to go do a bunch of you know shit
yeah it's just kind of what's happening I just want to do like your art and that but just
things that I feel like that are like this like just girly time and not like such high like
I feel like I could be myself.
I don't have to be like super.
Chapel.
Super chapel.
Yeah, super chapel.
I get that.
I mean, I feel like to, it's very strange because it's like you get everything you've ever
wanted in terms of career because you're like, this is what I've always wanted to make money
off my art.
But I remember seeing once, like, I think it was Jennifer Lawrence, like when she kind of
disappeared for a while because like, you know, everybody was obsessed with her and then
they started hating her and then she disappeared and then she came back.
She was saying, like, I love my job.
job. I love my art. I love, like, I never earned a million years that I would make money off
art, and I'm glad that I can. I just realize I hate everything about being famous.
Like, everything that comes with making money off art is really hard sometimes. And that's when it gets
difficult to talk about, especially for me, because I'm just like a dickhead on the internet,
but like when I'm, this is by no means the hardest job in the world, which I've told people,
it is not the hardest job in the world. It's hard for reasons that you could never prepare for.
Yeah. No matter how many jobs you've had. Yeah. So it's like, it comes with shit that you can't even
ask anyone how do I deal with this?
Because the only people who know are other people who are famous.
Who are doing it.
They're doing the same thing.
So that's why making friends in the communities easier.
Makes it easier.
That's like helped me so much.
Yeah.
Or people, it's worse too when it's people who are fans, but they're fans like now,
as opposed to people who have, like, because the people who have loved me for years
are very respectful in a lot of ways.
The people who jump on after the fact are the ones who are super fucking rude to me.
Sometimes fans can be rude, but, like,
like it's unintentional.
Like I've had people take a picture with me
because they saw other people taking a picture with me.
And then after she goes,
I don't know who the fuck that is.
I just saw other people taking a picture.
But I was like right behind her when she said it.
So I was like, then why did you?
Like, and sometimes they don't even know my name.
You're like, bitch, I don't want to take a photo with you.
Yeah, like I did that.
I couldn't.
Do you just say no?
Do you say no?
No.
And I'm working on it.
And I talked about it in therapy actually
because I realized I have no boundaries with fans in a lot of ways.
And I have so many boundaries in a lot of other ways.
So I'm like very confrontational in a lot of ways.
But with people who love you, you don't want to be rude.
But at the same time, sometimes they're so unintentionally rude that you're kind of like, thank you.
It's rude.
Thank you.
It's fucking rude.
Imagine, don't yell at me from your car window.
I know.
I get that in what other circumstance?
That's harassment.
Do you get yelled at?
Yeah.
Yeah, sometimes they don't even know my name.
So they'll be like, you're the girl, right?
The girl that's like on the girl that's mean to guys like on the internet?
No.
Then I'm like, I don't know.
Sometimes I go, they're like, he looks.
so familiar and I know they know who I am I'll go I don't know maybe we went to school together
she's in her 50s maybe we went to school together wait were you freshmen
I've had an older woman and this is not me dragging her but she literally was like in her 50s
and she was like did we go to school together girl what do you think let's all use our brains
like me she was a preschool teacher yeah like like were you my TA when I was in high school maybe
I don't fucking know so it's like don't lie to me girl come on don't make me do that
it well speaking of like the price of fame what's the coolest thing you've been able to do so
far like something you never thought you'd be able to do but now are able to or have done
I guess like people who've been in my position feel more comfortable talking to me because
they can relate on a level and so like me and people who I've looked up my two and my entire
life are like peers now which is sick that's that's cool yeah because you never thought but
yeah I was I just never I never really expected anything for my career except like to make me happy
like I've been poor and like yeah so I know that I can be happy and poor yeah so like not having money
doesn't scare me it's really just like how do I make this like be sustainable and like so I think
that like all these things that are happening to me now are just kind of icing on the cake but
I never thought like I never thought I could fly first class like you know what I mean yeah
um I never thought that I would get like access to like so much backstage I know all these like
or invitations that's been cool like Miley invited me to like a party and I was like
you don't know that I you were my first concert when the Jonas brothers were opening for you
I'm so jealous I never got to go to that one were you big Jonas brother fan no or you're a
Montana Montana Montana I don't know you technically are Hannah Montana it is kind of true and I wish I would
I wish I would have done looking back at like if I were to be able to start this all over I don't
think it's realistic to do a daft punk thing but I wish I would have you know like a helmet they got
something they they really figured it out I know same with Mr.
marshmallow.
Signor
marshmallow.
Madam.
Madam marshmallow.
But I loved that Hannah, like, you know, had two different personalities because it's
my fucking hair that gets me in trouble all the time.
Yeah.
So, I wish I would have done her.
But she, I, my friend thought I went, I was fourth grade.
Mm-hmm.
And, like, when she came out, I saw my friend start crying.
and then like little girls around us started crying and I was like I guess I heard
crying I was like and I was like this is so emotional but like but like but I get now I didn't
understand then why people were crying but now I get it and like oh because this is the that was
the coolest thing it was like a spiritual experience it was so spiritual I'm so jealous I only got to see
the movie. Didn't get to see the concert.
Jealous. I'm just going to manifest that she
comes back. When I wrote a fan fiction, it was
based off that tour. What other
fan fiction have you written? I've only written about the Jonas
Brothers. To be quite honest with you.
Which one? Nick, I was a Nick girl.
His diabetes was a huge moving part
of the story. Sorry to say. It was the
whole time. Sorry. It was the whole time.
Even if it's not in fanficion. It was a real
plot driver in my fan fiction.
Hammered.
Yeah. Yeah, I thought he was going to die too.
Yeah, everyone was like. I was like, no.
please don't say it was people were really like already morning like they were grieving they were
grieving in fifth grade yeah being like I don't know how long he has were you ever a fan girl
um of anyone other than Hannah Montana of course and now you are Hannah Montana that's crazy
Lana I look that might be the lesbian in you but yeah but I think the lesbian in me is like I I I love
like I feel really lesbian whenever I see a girl fucking shredding guitar.
Yeah.
And like,
I feel you.
Lana.
She shreds.
She shreds a sick.
Really?
I've never seen her play.
I see she smoking the cigars.
Oh, she shreds a cigarette.
Oh,
she doesn't shred it.
Gotcha.
Which love the sick.
Yeah.
But like, for some reason, something in me is like, it's like, it's like, it's like this.
You're coming live?
I mean, I know it's a podcast, but this is what I haven't going to see if girl
a dog about.
You know what I mean?
It's like those little, those bugs in, you ever seen record Ralph?
Yes.
You know when they're like, oh.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Whenever that light shoots up, that's another woman playing a guitar.
Exactly.
And you're just like mothed to a flame.
Fan girl, I, I've never been a fan girl, really, like, never been obsessive over any, until last week.
Like, the first time of my life, I.
got fan culture because I saw a video of Joan Jett when she was like, I don't know, like,
I don't know, probably in the 80s, maybe, like early mid-80s.
And like her prime.
And I was like, I just watched it.
Your eyes rolled in the back of your head.
It's almost like they rolled forward.
It's like they rolled as far.
They popped out like a cartoon.
Yeah, exactly.
Like the guy on like World Guinness Records, you know, when he's like, look how far I can pop out
my eyes like that's exactly what I did your tongue rolled on the floor yeah and it was money yep and um
and I was like that's crazy I think I need to I think I need to look at photos of her and so I was like
looking through I was like Joan Jett 1980s and I was like John Jett hot John Jett I was like
Joan Jett naked Joe Jett naked but I just started to
Joan Jett full nude no full frontal
That's what you're Googling.
Your Chapples Google search history.
And I, look, I respect, all respects to Ms. Jett.
Peace and love.
Madam Jett.
But I, um, I like got it.
And I was like, I think if I didn't have a job,
that she would become my job in life.
Like, you know what I mean?
Just the essence of Jem Jett.
It would be following her shows and like,
you caught the fever.
Like sometimes, like I just, for some reason,
never done this in my life.
save some photos of her.
Just because.
I was like,
I'm gonna save me.
When you're feeling down,
you go back and look at them.
At first I was like,
I'll save a couple.
I don't know this woman at all.
I was like,
I'll save a couple.
And I just saved like,
saving more and more and more.
And like nothing,
making it to your screen saver.
Nothing like,
like freak,
freakozoid vibes.
Like,
but like,
I was just like,
I just swear I want to look at her.
If you get a little freaky,
that's okay.
You get a little freak of it.
I,
I can't be like that with people.
Like I have a really hard time having crushes on people. Me too. Because I'm just like I can't really
I just feel so guilty like sexualizing them. Really? I think that's a Christian. Mine's the opposite
You're like I want to fuck you. What's your name? Mine is literally that I just truly believe that
everyone would fall in love with me if they spent enough time with me like give me like 10 minutes.
And it's true. So like mine there's no need for a crush because I could have you if I wanted you. I just don't.
So, like, mine is like, that's my tea.
You don't yearn.
No.
For someone.
No.
Well, you're in for my man now.
Totally.
Yeah, but, like, Pat, prior to that, no.
There's no one really that speaks to my spirit like that.
Because I just think I'm, like, the baddest bitch alive.
Yeah.
So I feel like anyone, like, when I see, like, any man, anyone, anyone at all, like, I'm
like, just give me like 10 minutes.
Yeah, exactly.
I hang out with me.
I'll make them giggle.
Yeah.
Make them blush a little bit.
Then I'm going to have to be like, God, I'm taken.
You're going to have to be like, get off me.
I'm so sorry to say.
Don't know.
Thank you, Joan, Jet.
My friend Chapel told me that she's in love with you.
Sorry, Joan.
But I think that's a vibe.
I was like, I'm not going to look at these photos and do anything with about it.
But I'm not going to be weird.
I'm not going to be weird.
But I just just want to look at her.
And gaze upon her.
Yeah, I was just, I like to gaze.
Yeah.
We all like to gaze.
I was so I was just like, I had to stop myself.
Because I was like, can't.
Haley, this is weird.
Like,
I was like telling my friend like,
he,
look what I did.
That's so weird.
And she was like,
that's not like funny.
She's like,
she was like,
that's,
um,
that's kind of a lot.
And I was like,
yep, delete,
delete,
delete.
Yeah,
yeah,
I thought so too.
That was so weird.
Sorry,
I don't know why I said that.
That was a joke.
Oh,
never heard of a joke.
Sorry.
We're not allowed to laugh anymore.
So now I'm taking like a second away from
I'm just not like, take it.
But you got fan culture for a sec.
Yeah, and I was like, this is the parasites.
Dangerous because I, she's mine and no one else.
Sometimes when I see things out like, because sometimes fans will be like, oh, you should
watch this or you should get into this.
And I'm like, I don't have the time.
Because once I get into it, I can't stop myself and I don't have time for that.
Are you obsessive?
I can be.
Yeah, I think that's why for like shows and stuff, I watch a lot of the same shit over
and over again.
Just because especially when I'm working, I've noticed, like, when I'm working a lot,
I just need to watch stuff I'm used to.
Yeah.
Because I was comforting.
Yeah, and I don't have time for new things.
Although I am into House of Dragon.
Have you watched House of Dragon?
No, but I did watch All of Game of Thrones.
I loved Game of Thrones.
Hated the last two seasons, but loved that show.
We all did.
They did my girl, Danny, so wrong.
I agree.
They did her so wrong in the end of that show.
Agreed.
But House of Dragon, I'm all up in there.
But see, now it's consuming my every waking thought.
This is why I can't get into new things.
Because I'm just thinking about it all the time.
Everyone loves the lesbian looking one.
Sorry.
Emma Darcy.
Probably.
Oh, short hair.
Yes.
Yeah, they're non-binary, but they play Reneira on the show.
One of the main queens on the show.
But they're non-binary.
Okay.
The queer-looking one.
Like.
Emma Darcy is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I get it.
Yeah.
I fucking get it.
When they had that grill on, I said, you're crazy.
Oh, what was that for?
You're popping out.
And for what?
Was that for, what was that for, like a charity?
I don't know, go home, you little slut.
That's what I was going to say.
Emma Darcy, go home.
You're slutting yourself out like that.
Go home.
I saw that.
I was like, damn.
I might have to get a grill, I guess.
I know.
I was like, that goes hard.
I know.
They look great.
What are you into?
What kind of shows you like?
Glee.
Oh, right.
We were talking about Glee.
You're in your Glee renaissance right now.
I watch Glee and SpongeBob.
I love SpongeBob.
That's all I can handle.
Spongrobe is funny.
sorry to say.
And when I'm feeling like a boy vibe,
I just like get high and watch Family Guy,
which is the shit hole of the earth.
Chapel.
Can I say something to you?
That's my favorite thing to do at home.
Smoke weed and...
Get smoke weed and watch Family Guy.
I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
On my fucking life, I do that every night.
Literally.
The internet's going to come for me.
I'm sorry to say it is truly one of the funniest shows ever written.
I think it's funny.
sorry. I can't control that.
2009 and before, some of the stuff, it's like,
it's bad, yeah. The most recent seasons, though, like,
or not, like the middle to the end now.
Yeah. I, the way my brain works in family guy bits,
like, there are literally jokes that I still regurgitate to this day.
And sometimes when people ask me where that's from,
I feel a great deal of shame.
I just be like, I made it up. I don't want to admit where it's from.
Just admit that you made it.
I just take credit for it. I'm like, oh, that's from here.
Sorry to say.
Yeah.
No,
I'm obsessed with family guy.
It's so bad.
And when you're high,
it's even funnier.
It's the funniest show ever read.
And I can't watch it with anyone.
Because they would be like,
dude,
why?
I literally,
sometimes I'm like,
you guys need to sit down and watch this episode with me.
Like I literally tell my sister,
please watch this episode with me.
I don't have anyone.
Sometimes I'll laugh so hard that I have to pause it
because I can't hear anything else.
Because I'm still laughing.
I'm like,
pause it.
Yeah, yeah.
Pause it.
I was telling a whole joke
Like sometimes I'll go
That's actually
That reminds me of something from a family guy
I say that all the time
I'm sorry
My inner circle is just used to it now
Now they just they entertain my bits
So I'll just go
Okay so this is what happens
And I tell them
Does your boyfriend watch it with you?
Yeah
Okay
He laughs too
I find boys will watch it with me
Yeah that really speaks to their spirit
Huh? Family guy
Yeah
Just like complete disrespect
For every culture
For every marginal
For every marginal.
Yeah.
They're like, oh, yeah.
Make fun of it.
Love it.
But, yeah, like, I do feel ashamed when speaking to a woman about it.
I will say there are jokes in there, though, that have nothing to do with oppression that are truly some of the funniest jokes ever.
Agreed.
Like, there's one I've said for years, and it's like, the joke is that he has cow utters, like, and then he milks them in a board meeting and everyone's drinking.
And, like, one of the guys that gets in his mouth, and then he goes, I don't care, I'm not driving.
That's so stupid.
It's so fucking.
And the way, anytime I do anything, I go, I don't care.
I'm not driving.
I say that all the time.
Nobody gets it.
Nobody understands.
And it's really not that funny.
I don't know what to tell you.
I don't know what to tell you.
My fucking brain just laughs.
Just looking and be like, okay.
That's why I said.
I felt so seen invalidated by you just now.
Thank God.
You have a friend in me.
One day we can do that together.
Get high and watch family guy.
Are you weird when you're high?
Sometimes depends.
Sometimes I think I'm funnier when I'm high.
I definitely am too, but I can be around max one person.
Or this is what I mean when I can't,
this is what I mean when I can't,
how I miss doing drugs in public.
Yeah.
I used to be such a freak, like, in the clubs,
like, and just had no issue dressing insane.
Yeah.
Like, doing whatever I could for attention.
Like, and so, but now, you know,
I miss, like, being high and going to,
a bar.
Because then I can be like
But now you get too
You get too spooky
I'm just still like
Dude if someone comes up and recognizes me
I'm gonna throw up on them
It could be a nightmare
Yeah it's like
I'll be like
Yes
It's me
Hi
And just like force myself to be normal
So now I can't do that
Unless I'm in like a crazy wig
That's that's too
When I was in New York a few months ago, I had a scary edible experience.
So bad to the point where half my party got sent home before me and my boyfriend, because
the two of us, were having this scary edible experience.
I heard you say that on the Alaska one.
You couldn't get on the flight.
Right.
I got recognized in the lounge.
And I, again, I cannot, I don't even remember what I was wearing.
I don't remember.
And I remember thinking.
How much was it?
I don't know, an ungodly and sinful amount.
And if I could, I would put a hit out on the dispatcher that sold it to me.
Was it like a brownie?
It was a little like sour gummy, but, or no, they were little chocolate balls, but I took two of them.
Or no, it took one and a half.
And I, the guy said, it had to be like 12.
Oh, girl, that was like over 100 milligrams.
I'm convinced.
I took over 100, which is like.
You should have just pulled trick.
Yeah, like I was about to jump out my hotel room window.
I was this close.
Because I was thinking, I remember my boyfriend was wearing the most insane outfit, too.
Like, he had these bright green cargo pants on and a cropped black sweater that
was mine and then a bright blue hat.
I would be like, who is this lady?
In a brown backpack.
He had this woman following me at the airport.
And I go, you got to change, dude.
You look insane.
And then he was like, if I take the pants off, I'm not making it to the airport.
And I was like, okay, because we were both still fucked up.
This is the next morning.
This is like 10 hours later.
Still, yeah, I don't even want to know what I looked like walking in that airport.
I don't even want to know what I looked like.
Was a JFK? Who cares?
Yeah, it was.
But then I went to the lounge and I was like, I just need to eat.
And then someone came up.
to me recognize me and she's talking to me.
And I remember actively thinking, I have to look like I'm paying attention, even
though I wasn't.
So I was trying.
And you're like, look at her.
Yeah.
And I was like, look at her, but don't look too hard.
And then I was going, oh, no, I'm staring.
Okay, hold on.
I need to look away.
Wait, no, now it looks like I'm not paying attention.
No, yeah, that's exactly.
And then I thought I was keeping it super cool.
And then she, halfway through the conversation, she goes, are you okay?
And then I go, yeah, yeah?
And then I started thinking, was I not okay?
And then I started thinking, what the fuck?
was like doing last day and then i was like hopefully my boyfriend will be able to tell me because
he's at the table as she's talking to me and then she goes okay well have a nice night and i go yeah you
too and then i don't know if she asked me a question like i have no idea she left i look my boyfriend's head
his head is flat oh no and then i go hey did i look bad in that and he goes in what and i go forget
it great because he's not there either forget it forget it we're two blind mice right now we're just
going through life on our own.
That's crazy.
I was like, I hope she never remembers that interaction.
I hope she never tells anybody.
Oh my God.
I can't even imagine.
She probably was like, she was fucked up.
Because now I'm thinking I was watching her like this.
Because then she was like, are you okay?
And I was like, yes.
Why did I not look okay?
So I get what you mean.
That's a horrifying experience being under the influence and in public.
That's probably a good thing though.
I know.
That they're tailoring.
But I'm glad we have similar hobbies.
You and I do the same things in our downtime.
Like dude stuff.
it's so lame that's probably the straightest thing about me is watching family guys same yeah and i and they make fun
they make fun of crazy gay stuff and i'm like ha ha ha ha like you're giggling at home yeah you're cackling at
home well i want to ask too what would you say is the most rewarding part of like now having a platform
because you represent so many different groups as well but you also platform drag a lot i want to ask you more
about drag. Oh wait, before I get to that, who's your favorite
drag queen? Do you have a fan?
Or maybe a top three? For
the controversial ones, Willem.
O. T. And
detox. For the nice ones,
Kim Chi.
Oh, love.
I think my favorite is Sasha Colby.
Like, overall, number one.
I love Bob.
And I love
fuck it. I like
Derek Berry.
Slash Britney
He does a great job at Britney
But I mean
Trixie is so fucking awesome
Yeah
She's my op
Yeah
I'll fist fight Trixie
Me and Trixie are gonna
A Celebrity Boxing match
Oh yeah
I love her
Why?
Well she and I are both Virgo's
But I just did her pod
Like a couple weeks ago
Love her
But there's like a running bit
That she never text me back
Which is like true
Do you text people back?
No.
I don't either.
And as of Virgo, like, I feel like I should do it to others and it should not be done to me.
Right. Revenge.
Yeah, obviously.
But I remember when I was on her pod, she's like, yeah, Brittany Brosky, she told me that you're always texting me and I never text you back and I felt bad.
And I go, well, hold on, let's be clear.
I wasn't texting you to hang and you were just ignoring me.
That's not what was happening.
I text you happy birthday and you ignored me one time.
And then she was like, she DMed me on Instagram and was like, the way that,
you haven't text me so you're missing out on all my thoughts and I was like I have text you bitch like
what the fuck and then I text her again and I said this is drew off wallow because I don't know if this bitch
has multiple Drews in her phone and then she goes oh my god I did have your number and then I go okay
I said yeah what what did you want to tell me she didn't text me back again that's awesome
and then I text her again I said bitch if you don't tell me I'm literally going to send a SWAT team to
your fucking house and then she said that I'm so beautiful and sent me a picture of herself
And then I blocked her.
You know how, wait.
Would you ever swat someone's house?
Um, I don't know.
Are you asking?
Would you like me to swat you?
Kind of.
Just to get the experience.
Just to be like.
Maybe an arch nemesis.
Yeah.
Because remember it was like a trend.
Like it was.
And people were just like calling.
People were trying to do that to me, but on, on some funny shit on some real shit.
But like.
They were trying to swat you for real.
Yeah.
Men who hate me.
Oh yeah.
They're trying to swat you.
Yeah.
Isn't that crazy?
I'm like, you guys.
are so afraid of me. I was just telling someone when I make fun of men so severely like I
made fun of someone's hairline on Twitter the other day and he was like oh yeah so balding and he was like
I was like he took a picture of his forehead again and he has one of those fringes that like hangs down
and I go lift up that little bang I'm trying to see something and then and then he what that bang
do with that thing lift up that little bang girl I want to see what's underneath and he literally
pulled his car over and like lifted up his bang and like took a picture and it looked awful
but I was laughing because I'm like the way you guys are you guys will do anything I say.
Yeah.
They're so submissive.
They're so submissive to me.
But then they'll.
And submissive.
Fucking throw a bomb squad on you to like try to smot.
They get mad at me.
I'm like,
some might fall you do whatever I say.
Right.
Exactly.
Do you get a lot of hate?
I don't read the comments anymore.
But if I, if I do what I do in my head, I'm like, that's a bot.
That's actually really good.
I'm like, that's a bot, obviously.
And then if someone like,
makes a video, I'm like, that's AI.
Like, I am like, that's AI.
That's a great method.
I think that's wonderful.
Like, because it's, how they're behaving is so delusional.
So I'm going to do it back.
I'm going to match it.
Wow, you're so genius.
So I'm just like, you want to say that shit?
You're not real.
Well, that's obviously AI.
That is genius.
Nice one.
Deep fake.
Like, almost had me.
You're not going to get me.
I almost thought that was a real person.
I used to fight in the comments.
I love fighting.
I don't fight it.
anymore just simply because I'm like I'm not going to let it I don't have to defend myself and
like prove to you that like whatever like I'm just like I would be online all day long if I had to
I feel that you know you're telling me girl so I mean but I I just if I get hate I'm like this is the
point of art yeah I get so elicit a response what hurts my feelings is when people like come for
my character.
I feel that, same.
And I'm just like...
And it comes from people you love or support.
Yeah, people that...
But then again, I'm like,
the people who are judging my character,
I've never met them.
See?
I don't know them.
They don't know me at all.
It's just like, I'm some...
I wish people would look at me as like,
that's a random person.
Like, you happen to like
know the art that they make,
but like that's a random bit.
Yeah, for real.
And what they see is not,
everything about who you are.
Like people are so much more multifaceted than one thing.
I know.
So they think that about me too.
Like they think I'm the meanest bitch alive.
Like sometimes people will ask me like, are you just like this all the time?
I'm like, no, because I don't hang out with people I hate.
No.
Yeah.
I don't spend time with men I fucking hate.
Like I don't do that.
Right.
So no, I'm not like this all the time.
Right.
Or though like it's a very slippery.
It's very frustrating when people like, they're like, oh, well, clearly she's a bad person.
How would you know that?
Why are you even?
Like, don't people feel dumb commenting things?
I know.
Hate, like, nonsensical hate.
Or it's like, I really didn't like her, but I didn't have a valid reason.
And now I do, thanks for telling me.
And it's like something made up.
I've had that about me too.
Like, people will just make, people, men have created, talk about fan fiction.
Men have written the craziest fan fiction about me, like, of who they think I was and who, who I had to be in high school in order.
I'm like, aren't you 15?
Aren't you?
Also, like.
I was in high school 10 years ago.
Like, what the fuck?
You weren't even alive.
What the fuck, girl?
You don't know anything about me from high school.
I know.
And I was like, and I was just as annoying and funny in high school.
Sorry to say.
Someone, someone one time, someone made a video about me.
This is like years ago.
And like I wasn't nearly as successful.
So I was like pretty much watching anything that was tagged in.
And it was this girl.
And she was like, I know.
round she's like she's like I'm not I hate pink pony club I hate that shit but like regardless
I know she made fun she was the girl in high school that got whatever she wanted and she made fun of the kids in
special ed and got away with it what what I was like what a bizarre thing to say sounds like you made people
you yeah I'm just like what do you um first of all what does that mean yeah like that's a very
that I have like no, I just didn't know what it meant.
And so I, you're just mean.
Yeah.
And I just like comment.
I was like, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, you're so camp.
But now I don't like, you know, but that.
Can't do it as much anymore.
That made me like, that made me like upset for real.
Because I was like, do I give off that vibe?
And it's like, even if I gave off the nicest vibe, someone would still.
Someone is still going to be like.
Yeah.
She'll bully people if they have like.
I bet when the cameras aren't off, she's not like that.
well yeah probably i mean probably a little different yeah i think about it like whenever i'm on tour
or like whatever like performing in an interview like i'm clocked into customer service mode
yeah like when i'm like not on like literally not doing somersaults yeah yeah i'm not clocked in i'm not at work
right now. Yeah. So if you think that I'm rude, bitch, are you going to get mad at your
barista who you see at the, at the mall? And you're like, why aren't you? Why are you being nice to?
You're not acting the way that I saw you act on the stage at Gov ball. Why didn't you ask about my day
anymore? What are you asking? What are you doing anymore? It's like, bitch, I'm not,
I'm not at work. Yeah, they feel very entitled to you as like a person once they feel like they know
you very well, which is upsetting for a lot of reasons.
I'm just like, yeah.
I get what you mean, though, because sometimes I, I'm so, like, aware of, like, fan interaction.
Yeah.
So that you're, like, so everyone gets a good experience because you're like, I don't want
anyone to have a bad experience meeting me.
And the ones who say that, they're like, where did you meet?
Like, one time someone wrote a comment like that about me saying at Coachella, I was
walking around, like, I owned the place with my posse.
And I was like, posse.
What the fuck?
You mean?
You mean Britney Rowski?
and then my sister and my boyfriend like what the fuck are you talking about like she owned the place
what and I said when did you see me there like I don't and so you didn't talk to me you saw me from a
distance and then just assumed yeah like I was okay that's what it freaks me out I'm like you got you
you guys aren't like like maybe sketched out that you're assuming stuff yeah like you think you
because you assume it it's true yeah and you can't like and because you're a
celebrity they can't like you can't prove them wrong like oh then prove me what the fuck like it's so it's so
weirdly meta it feels very black mirror in that sense because you're like I'm fighting against
technically speaking we are fighting against box because yeah we don't know them and we don't a lot of times
they don't have faces to their profiles or whatever totally so we're just fighting ghosts really which I'm
like I'm not going to say to prove I'm a good person to millions of people on the internet I feel like
no that shouldn't be up for debate and also they only do that to women so they do they never do
that to men you know especially in the being a gay girl yeah
You're never an ally enough, no matter what.
Yeah, it's just always something.
Always something you could be doing better.
Which I'm homophobic.
Let this be weird.
Let this be clear.
Let it be numb.
I feel like...
I love making fun of myself in a homophobic way.
But like, I'll fucking ride for trans right.
You know what I mean?
Absolutely.
I will...
I like...
Well, you don't have to talk about it because you are about it.
That's how I feel too.
That's the other thing.
It's like...
You're like being an ally is so much more than just like...
Posting on your stuff.
story.
Yeah, occasionally.
Yeah.
And I'm like, no, I...
Actually walk in that shit.
Like, I've lived that shit.
It's your actions.
Like, I'm not going to try to, like...
That's why I think about people who, like, just people online who accuse of, you know,
people in pop culture of not caring about a product, like, something that they really care
about.
It's like, they probably do and aren't, like, just disclosing that they're donating to the cause
because that looks performative.
Yeah, totally.
Or like...
Well, you would be accused
of being performative
in that sense.
Even if you did.
Yeah, even if you did.
So I've had to talk about that too
because I've talked about
even in my culture,
like in someone culture,
philanthropy,
like we are a culture rooted in service.
So giving with no expectation
of anything in return.
That includes kudos,
like talking about it.
So like I don't talk about
a lot of the philanthropy I do
because that's not the point.
The whole point is like to do it
because you want to,
not because you want to get praise for it.
So,
also the way of the way
you exist and the way the things you do now is literally like that's actively standing up for
and representing and pushing for it you know what i'm saying pushing things that you care about which is
important that's why the people that know you and love you know that you're about it so you don't
have to that's why it's like it's like it's too much talking about it like i don't have to prove that's why i said
the fucking paul brothers gave one homeless guy a haircut and recorded the shit for millions of views and now
i have to document every good thing i do every fucking positive thing i do i have to fucking film it and
To prove that.
That I'm a good person.
That's all like, I'm a good person.
Look at me.
Look what I did.
That's, it negates the point.
I know, but sometimes it feels like I want to do that because like I feel so sad that.
People don't think otherwise.
People think otherwise because that is like a deep fear of mine.
Like probably, probably my greatest fear is try my best to be a good person.
And one, no one believing me or two, feeling like I'm failing.
Yeah.
I feel that. I think that's my deepest fear.
That's the only thing that really, like, makes me, like, genuinely very upset about having a platform or being visible.
Yeah.
Because then it feels like it's never enough.
Like, no matter what you do, it's never enough.
Which is exhausting.
Because you have to work at the same.
So you're entertaining at the same time.
You have to do that.
I know.
So it's, like, balancing it.
It gets hard.
It's not, like, really any other job.
No.
Because you are, like, the jack of all trades.
Yeah, it have to be.
Like, you are creating literally, like, when people are bored, they go.
to you.
So not only like, or like music, you know.
And yeah, whatever.
It gets very upsetting.
But I think what's beautiful about what it is you do
is that you've been the same and been consistent
for a very long time in your activism
and in platforming what you care about.
Even when you were on the Tonight Show and you gave Sasha
Colby credit for your favorite artist, favorite artists.
Like that in it of itself, that's like, that's like,
platforming and standing up for marginalized groups because Sasha's not only drag queen,
she's also trans. Right. And she's indigenous on top of that. So like it's like a one, two,
three. Like that's shit that's like about it. You're about it. You don't have to talk as much
about it because you are about it. So I want to give you kudos. I'll give them to you.
Thank you. Get behind me. Chapel. I'll fight whoever's mean to you. Bitch. I give you, I bet I give you
kudos to like, you really like are not afraid. And and that is so inspiring to be like.
Thank you.
To like stand up for feminism.
So kudos you.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
So to wrap us, right?
I would love to know what's your best piece of advice for anyone who maybe wants to get into show business.
And maybe sits in a marginalized group currently and maybe it's a little afraid of that.
Because one thing I did see, I've seen a lot of people who love you dearly talk about how like the way that you are, the way you platform drag, the way you platform gay people in general, trans people in general.
like it inspires them and makes them feel safer like they can also be in the industry too so that's
very powerful and that's something that they love about you the most so what would you say is your
best piece of advice for them if they're feeling a little afraid um in general I would say
the best piece of advice I got was like you have to just do it yourself like you can't wait
for like maybe I'll get like noticed or you know maybe
I need a manager.
I need a label.
It's like, you don't.
Just do it yourself.
Yeah.
You're going to have to be cringy.
It just, you just are.
Embrace it.
It's going to, it feels horrible that you have to do it.
Embrace the cringe.
Every single artist has been cringy.
Yeah.
Either, or it still is, unfortunately.
Yeah, I have to.
But the way to do it is yourself at the beginning.
And it's the hardest at the beginning.
Yeah.
is not only do you not have money,
but you're also blindly trying to figure it out.
But luckily, like, and that has to, you know,
going in, like, the queer community,
dude, like, that is, like, the queer community
is a built-in audience in, like, a way of, like,
they fucking ride for gay people.
They do.
And I do, too.
It's, like, the second that I hear someone is gay,
I'm like, whatever you do, support it.
Like, you know.
I'm in there.
I'm streaming.
So I think that, I think that some people, it doesn't, being queer, you never have to say it.
You know, you don't have to, I know, I talk about it a lot, but it never has to be at the forefront if you don't want it to.
Yeah.
And like, people who are scared, it is scary.
I'm scared.
I get it.
I, this is really, really hard and you don't have money, like, for like seven to ten years.
A long time.
A long, long time.
But how I did it is like bait literally millions of baby steps.
And that's something about the career is like, it is rarely giant leaps.
Yeah.
It is mostly baby, baby, baby steps.
All you have to do is take one baby step a day.
Period.
You'll get there.
Look at you.
So I would say that.
And I still use my friends to like do everything.
Same actually.
Like source in house.
Exactly.
That's what I mean by like doing it yourself.
Yeah, with your community.
You have to source it.
If you want it to be right, you got to do the work.
And like you have to create the team of like, well, this friend does like really cute like graphic design.
Or this one is like a really good photographer, which is easy to find in L.L.
So, like, living in Missouri or, like, really anywhere else, it's really hard to find groups of people like that.
Totally.
But, like, start following people that you really like and see how they do it.
Yeah.
And, like, that's how, yeah.
It will come to you if you want it.
I also, I remembered, too, when I had moon on, I was like, who are some other, like, queer artists that y'all are riding for right now?
And they were like, every time we say a name, they blow past us.
They were like, like, two years ago, we were talking about Chappel Ron.
And they were like, how much, we were saying how much we love her.
And then she just exploded.
They were like, so I'm not fucking talking about anyone else.
Every time they fucking blow past us.
I was like, no.
Don't say that.
That's not true.
But they love you.
They're big fan of you.
It's not true at all.
I was like, well, they're like, well, we're,
gay famous, that's different.
Like, Chapel's gay and mainstream famous.
I don't feel mainstream famous.
I think you're gay famous.
I feel gay famous.
Yeah, totally.
On Twitter.
In WeHo.
In Weho.
Yeah.
I'm like, but barely, because those are the type of the gays that if they see someone
they love, they'll go like this.
And then they'll key with someone else about it.
Yeah, and they'll be like, whatever.
Yeah, like that.
So, like, I'm gay.
Highland Park famous.
You know what I mean?
Like Highland Park is like I'm Madam Pope.
You know, like something, I'm like myth Pope.
But in the real world, I don't think it's hit me yet.
Yeah.
That's good.
It's scary because like I realize that like now like my security is like at risk at like airports and shit.
Yeah.
And like just like I don't realize how much I'm being perceived anymore.
So now I have to be like careful about like.
you know, walking to my car.
Like people are going to know what my car looks like now.
Or like watching, if people are following me.
When you're driving.
When I'm driving or to my house.
Like, so.
Yeah, anyway, I don't know why I'm on that tangent.
It's all right.
I would say, um, advice.
Going back to do it.
Let's land the plane.
Yeah.
If you're chill with everyone,
not like like your family probably being like this bitch like even when it comes to like drag
yeah or like wanting to do literally anything any kind of performance art
performance whatever you got to be okay with people not taking you seriously yep having no money
and it taking many years yeah that's it you know when i did something this when i worked this
past weekend I worked with like a big sports thing and the way that men go so like what do you do
do on TikTok and I'm like you're really not going to like the answer to that I rip you apart
yeah that's if you were on TikTok we would not be friends you would hate me you would swat my house
yeah you would probably try to swap me come on I just start going on tangent well thank you so much
