You said this place was steps from the water.
We just haven't found the steps yet.
How much did we save?
Enough.
Enough to get lost.
Or you could book a stay with Hilton.
Welcome to your ocean front room.
Just steps from the water.
The Hilton sale is on now.
Book on Hilton.com or the Hilton app
and save up to 20% to get the stay you expected.
When you want savings, not surprises.
It matters where you stay.
Hilton for the stay.
I thought E. coli you get from eating your own shit.
What?
Is that right or wrong?
Hey, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show starring me, your favorite.
Everybody knows me.
On to the guest.
Today, we have the iconic, the legendary, the unbelievably talented.
Owen Thiel!
Woo!
That was so nice.
Oh, my God, you're so welcome.
Thank you for saying all that.
That's what I do best.
I know.
You jerk off.
Yeah, you jerk me off.
What you do best, you jerk me off.
Obviously.
Yeah.
I'm so excited to have you.
I'm so honored to be here.
You and I are sisters.
No,
no,
we actually really,
I really do feel connected to you.
Me too.
Which is,
yeah,
which is I,
I,
it's,
I feel like a lot of people
feel like I'm on the top of that list.
For realsies.
I'm on the top,
sorry.
That's true.
Well,
also I feel like you're someone
who doesn't,
you know if you're not
vibing with someone
immediately.
So I feel like when you connect,
you're like,
this is Kindred.
Oh,
when I'm not vibing with someone,
I'm getting in my car
and I'm skirting away.
I'm not kidding.
I am like going fast as I ever could.
I'm leaving.
I'm leaving.
I'm leaving.
I was just at Coachella and there was this man who was standing behind me.
And you know when people get a little too close to you?
Yes, of course.
Especially at Coachella.
I get it.
We're all kind of, we're all wanting to watch Gaga.
I get it.
But also like Gaga's there.
You're not getting any closer.
There's a million people in front of you back up.
Yeah, literally.
It's okay.
She can't see you.
So it's fine.
Totally love.
She doesn't.
He's yelling, Gaga.
for her to look in his camera.
I'm like, my love, we're 40 people back.
She can't hear you.
She has in ears in.
She's a hundred yards away.
So it's all right.
Anyways, he was so close to me.
And eventually I was like, I looked at him and I go, I either have to leave or you have to leave.
And then he goes, you?
I go, yeah, I'm me.
You decide.
Yeah, I go, okay, I'll leave.
We were both at Coachella.
How was your Coachella experience, girl?
Because Ms. Owen is popular.
Owen was all over the place.
No.
Because Owen has two successful shows coming out.
No.
Whatever.
Whatever.
Whatever.
No.
Very exciting, though.
Thank you.
I was there for overcompetating.
Yes.
One of the two shows I'm on.
The two ones that are coming out, girl.
I'm a very small part in overcompetiting, but I'm very, it's a friend of mine made it.
So he put me in it.
I did an audition.
Who we both love.
I love Benny.
We love Benny.
He's the best.
He's actually the most wonderful person.
And Marybeth, I love her too.
I love her.
I love, I love, I'm just obsessed with them.
Yeah.
But he very kindly put me in his show and because he was like, you don't really have anything on the horizon.
Pop into my show.
I was like, totally thanks.
Shut up.
So he put me in a show and I was like, oh my God, I'll do any press with you because I'm obsessed with you and I just want to hang with you.
Yeah.
So he brought me to Coachella to, he did this like overcompensating house and he invited like it was a party.
It was essentially a party.
I, my publicists are going to kill me for saying this.
I got too drunk at a press event.
And now looking back, I'm like, that was work.
I should have been a little more professional.
But it was a party to me.
It's really hard.
It's like, it's really hard to split hairs because all your besties are there too.
One, all my besties were there.
Two, they gave us, I'm not kidding, a server for the cast.
So the server would come up and be like, hey, Owen, do you need anything else?
So obviously, every time the server would come over, I would feel bad.
So I would say, yeah, I'll take another.
for tequila. Thank you so much. I don't want him to walk away and not do anything. You know what I mean? I want him to have something to do. I feel bad. I feel bad. So he kept bringing me tequila. Right. Did one too many tequila? Seven tequila's in. I'm like, hey, Ben, I'm probably going to go home soon. But he's like, yeah, that's probably for the best.
Disaster. But I'm sure it was fun though. It was so much fun. But I think getting drunk during the day is not for me. No, at our big age girl, I'm not doing that. It's bad, bad news bear. I am not.
not doing that. Do you, do you, do you drink? Yeah. Yeah, I do. I'd prefer to smoke weed,
but like, I do drink. And at Coachella, I was drinking. And I also had tequila, but I didn't drink
a ton because I was like, I would prefer to be high. So I was like, oh, yeah, I'll do a couple
shots. And then when I started getting a little too, a little too loose with it, I was, you know,
when like, it's almost like the, the 30-year-old version of yourself pops in and they're like,
hey, we can't be doing this. And that's what I'm like, you're right, you're right, I need to drink
electrolytes. Like I'm like talking to myself.
100%. You're right. You're right. I should be prioritizing my hydration. You're right. No, my future self
pops up. My 50 year old self is like, hey, Owen, you're going to resent. You're going to regret this.
You're going to really look at your face in a few years and be like, why did I drink that extra
shot? No, for real. I get so puffy and I look instantly like I've drank.
You like can't hide it? No, you can tell immediate one shot in, my boyfriend's like,
so you're drunk? I'm like, yeah, my eyes are crossing immediately. I'm like,
It's a disaster.
I know.
I feel like I'm an extra lightweight now, too, now that I'm older.
Wait, is that a thing?
Yeah, I think so.
It's completely changed for me.
Also decreasing how we drink, how much we drink.
Because when I was younger, I could drink like a fucking champ.
I could drink like a motherfucker.
I would drink, that kind of drink would put me in the hospital now.
If I did that now, I'd be out of commission for like a month.
I was drinking like eight shots and being like, I'm fine.
Yeah, and then be like, all right, now let's go to the party.
No, totally.
Oh, now I feel a little loose.
I know.
Now when my friends say dinner's at like 8 p.m.
I'm like, that's so late.
You guys want to meet earlier?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
My friends who are my age are in their pregame era again,
where they're like pre-gaming dinner.
And I'm like, wait, is the pre-game the dinner?
And they're like, no, no, no, we have dinner after.
I'm like, I'll just come to the pre-game then.
Girl, I'm not going to make it to the dinner, girl.
Totally.
I'm not, first of all.
I'm going to be drunk, first of all.
Second of all, it's late.
When I get drunk like that too, I like, after a while, I'm like, I got to go lay down.
And I just go to, and I'll disappear and I'll go to sleep.
I don't go fuck.
No, Drew.
Yeah, I just, I'll leave and I'll be like, yeah, no, I'll be right back.
And then they'll find me and I'm sleeping somewhere.
I'm, I'm just going to close my eyes.
I am fully inviting you to a party and I'm leaving the door open and I will find you the next morning in my bed.
I'll be like, wait, you were here?
Yeah, when I was in college, literally, after a while, my friends would be like, I can't find Drew.
she's probably laying down because I just always be like well it's time for bed I'm going to go lay down totally time for bed sorry sorry I love I don't sleep famously I sleep like two hours a night I know that about you but you're a vampire yeah you just you sleep standing up probably at Coachella I was I will tell you this when when it's so much waiting for the artist to come out for real and then finally they come out and then it's adrenaline yeah but before that time the five minutes honey that is a good time to sleep my eyes will
were, my eyes were open, but I was emotionally gone.
Day one, I think the first act we saw was the Marias.
Of course.
So, and they're at 6pm, so that's when we got there.
And I had, I had taken edibles before I went.
So I was like, I'm going to be chilling when I got there.
And then I took, I felt like all the environment, I got the scleries a little bit.
Totally.
So when I got the scleries, I was like, I got to be chill because I don't want to ruin anybody else's time.
But thankfully the Maria's music is like nice and chill and vibe.
a great place.
Right.
Yeah.
The scariest for real to get past my scary.
So I had to sit down on the grass and I was like,
you're okay,
you're fine.
I'm like talking to myself,
I look insane.
Like I was doing meth.
And I'm telling,
I'm telling myself,
you're okay,
you're good.
Everything's fine.
I'm like,
people are coming up to you for pictures.
They're like,
you're like,
you're like,
if you can come down here.
Yeah.
And it probably looks like I'm,
it looks like I'm vibing like this when I'm literally like,
you're okay,
you're okay.
No panicking.
We're not going to panic.
We're going to be fine.
And then right after that we walked to Miss Elliott
Because we were like right there
And when we went to Miss Elliot
As soon as I got out there
I was like walking next to my man
And he was like, how are you feeling? Are you good?
And I was like yeah, I had the scarries back there
But I'm ready to party now
Now we're in the fun part
Woo!
Yeah, yeah totally I totally know
I the first time I ever went to Coachella
I went with my father
Who by the way, it sounded like it was like a sexual thing
For some reason
I thought it sounded like a field trip
Oh great my dad
I don't know why father to me sounded so weird.
I always say dad.
Yeah.
But I guess or dad, my mom texted me the other day in a group chat with a friend and said,
Daddy needs you to text him back.
I was like, you can't say daddy about my dad.
No.
Okay.
Anyways, I went with my father to Coachella first year and I was with a, I brought a friend.
And the friend got an edible from her hairdresser.
And it's a long story.
But anyways, she was like, okay, I'm 5'1.
It was like a hubby bar.
She was like, I'm 5'1, so I'm going to take one square.
You're 6'4.
So just eat the rest.
And I was like, okay.
So it's famously terrible advice.
I'm not kidding.
I was in this heart, Sahara tent.
And suddenly every single person around me was green.
And I was like, oh, I'm in Wicked.
Oh, Wicked came out early.
Cynthia's here.
I was freaking out.
All of a sudden, on a stretcher, all of a sudden, at home.
I remember.
Literally all I remember.
It's like you're opening your opening up.
Totally.
Literally.
Suddenly opening my eyes, McDonald's next to me.
I'm thrilled.
Girl, did I have fun at least?
Yeah, literally, literally.
My dad's like, you probably don't want to go back tomorrow.
And I looked at him and I said, I'm obviously going back tomorrow.
Obviously.
And now I know to just take one square.
So just take the rest.
Yeah.
Well, tell me, let's talk about your shows.
I would love to talk about the shows coming.
Obviously, we talked about overcompensating.
Yes.
But I'd love to know about your other fun show.
I'm obsessed with it.
I actually, I haven't seen any of them.
But you obviously filmed it.
But I was in it.
Yeah.
It's about five best friends who all live in one house in New York.
And we're kind of navigating life together, figuring out how to become an adult.
It's called adults fun.
And we're really bad at it.
We're really bad at becoming an adult, which is kind of how I feel.
The whole experience of being an adult.
Yeah. So I was like, oh, I can tap into this.
I was like, can I improv?
I know some things.
It was great.
It was four people I had no, I didn't know them before.
They're amazing actors, but they hadn't been in that much.
And also, they all live in New York now, but one lived in Australia.
Like, they're just from all over.
Yeah.
And it was so amazing to, to become friends with them on set because we had to play best friends.
Yeah.
And then suddenly, like, I'm like, oh, I actually know you.
Oh, actually, I know you really well.
Oh, my God.
you're actually my best friend.
Like,
it was actually a beautiful thing.
Yeah,
I want,
that's why I was going to ask about how your experience was filming it.
And like being,
also,
and being a principal cast in something,
how exciting.
It was,
it was amazing.
Yeah.
It was cool.
It's my first time doing it.
Yeah.
Usually I call myself a Nepo friend because all of my friends
somehow make these movies and I beg them to cast me in it.
And I'm like,
no,
I will not audition.
Self-deprecating.
You are very talented.
No,
thank you.
Thank you.
Which is true.
But also,
my friends do cast me in.
stuff. Well, and that's a beautiful thing because
artists love artists. That's why. And you
know, you know, too, especially the people
you're friends with, they would not put you if you sucked ass.
I think that's true. I think. You know
damn well they wouldn't put you in there if you were bad.
I think there's a movie theater camp and Molly Gordon was directing it
and she's my best friend in the world and I'm obsessed with her. And
there was one part she asked me to improv this thing. And I kept
talking about heroin and the kids there. And I kept just bringing up heroin.
And Molly from behind the camera was like, hey, ditch the heroin talk.
She was like, what's going on?
And I think in that moment she was like, I can't hire my friends.
She was like, I don't know what's happening.
See what happens when a hiring house.
Yeah, literally.
She's like, fucking hell.
But other than that, I think I've done okay.
I think that's a wonder.
I honestly think that's the best friend to have is a friend that's honest with you in a very loving way.
Totally.
But also, that's why I was saying, like, my artist's friends, like, they do not mince words.
Like if I if I'm like hey, because like Caleb, Caleb Heron.
Love.
When I was running my stand up by him, I was like running it by him.
50-50 if my zipper's up or down anymore.
Take my pants off at home.
They come off easy.
I'm like, I thought it was four hours I was walking around like.
Netflix is a joke presents.
Nate Bargatsy, Big Dumb Eyes World Tour.
A special live taping at Into a Dome.
I think it's because I'm peeing so much longer.
I watch young people come and go.
I'm like, tell my family I'm okay.
Nate Bargettze, May 9th and 10 live at Into a dome.
Get tickets at Netflix is a joke fest.com.
And we were on Zoom.
I would read him a couple jokes.
And some of the jokes I read him, he'd be like, anything else?
Or is that it?
I'm like, no, yeah, yeah.
I have somebody.
I have chills.
I know it.
I know that.
Because I would love.
And even like, I've started like tinkering with DJing.
Wait, what?
Yeah, I'm just trying to, you know, I'm just wearing all kinds of hats.
Wait, because this is amazing.
What? Who are you showing? You're showing Diplo on Zoom?
You're DJ.
No, fuck no.
Wait, what? Tell me everything.
I'm just, I'm trying to teach myself how to DJ.
And I think part of it is like a vengeance plot of my own because I can't sing.
So, and for some reason, I have been asked to audition for singing roles a few times.
And I'm like, I can't fucking sing.
I get so frustrated.
I'm like, just give me something else.
I feel like you can sing.
I mean, I'm not.
Somebody who says they can't sing so vehemently.
I'm like, you can sing.
And I'm being very literal.
And I don't mean I'm tone deaf.
I just like I'm not like a...
You can sing.
You know what I mean.
I'm not like a songbird.
Put a little auto tune.
It's Siza.
I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
I love it.
And so when I thought about DJing, I was like, well, I love to curate a vibe.
Totally.
And I'm going to make my way into that music industry whether they want me or not.
So I was like, everybody DJs.
I'll just DJ.
So like I literally got DJing gifts for Christmas.
and like both my, it's so funny, my parents and my fiance got me the same DJ table for Christmas,
but they didn't talk to each other. So I got one and I've been like tinkering with it,
trying to teach myself how to do mixes and shit. So I, it's hard. It's actually hard. It's fucking hard.
I'm sorry. We have to actually like, I know being a DJ is like embarrassed, like people were
embarrassed about it first. Right. They were like, no, that's not real music. I'm sorry, that shit's
hard. No, it's fucking hard. I was like, Martin Garrick's. You are good at your job. Is there a DJ where I just
Q songs on Spotify.
I was like, that's the kind of DJ.
My boyfriend, Spotify has like, I don't know what setting he used.
I think it's literally DJ setting where it like mixes one song into the next.
And every time he's in the car, people are like, shit, sick mix.
See, that's what I'm trying to be.
That's the type of shit I'm trying to be on.
By the way, two songs that don't work together.
You're having like no scrubs and like a really sad Celine Dion song.
And everyone's like, sick mix.
And I was like videoing myself practicing the first time I was fucking with it.
And I sent it to Brittany.
I texted to her and that she was like, hey, let's get back in that booth.
Wait, like, practice again.
Hey, yeah.
Let's go ahead and turn the volume all the way down.
Perfect.
I'm actually done.
And I was like, I'm practicing still.
I was like these are the first infancy stages of me.
Aren't those amazing friends to have?
Yes, absolutely.
The ones that actually just tell you how it is.
Thank God for them.
I know all of your friends are so talented.
just like you are.
And that's why I know they wouldn't cast you.
Well, there's also no bullshit like me.
Exactly.
That's what I was like, there's no way they'd be cast.
They'd be like, I love you so much.
No.
No.
By the way, that has happened to me.
There's been roles that I've, like Molly Gordon just did another movie, me just
begging Molly Gordon to cause me and anything.
Molly Gordon just did this other movie where she has, it's her in a love interest.
Yeah.
And I looked at her dead serious and I was like, I can play straight.
And she looks at me and she goes, no, you can't.
I was like totally good friends
You said that and she goes
Who can?
Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah
I know you're not talking about you
Yeah yeah
Who's I?
You said I
Right
I
She goes no
Sorry
What the fuck
It's really funny
But how has the
auditioning process and stuff been for you
How's that been
I was asking for tips
Last time we hung out
Oh I and I didn't have any
It's auditioning is horrible
Yeah
And I hate to be that person that's like, we have such a hard job.
I know for real.
Because we don't.
Yeah.
But I'm sorry.
Auditioning is hell.
It is really.
It is horrible.
And for adults, I was, I mean, I got the role.
So thank God.
Thankfully, yes.
Thank God.
But also it was, I was put in a room with, it was like old school auditioning.
Right now a lot of auditions are on Zoom.
Yeah.
Which makes it so easy because you log off and then you can eat a bowl of cereal and eat in the comfort of your own home and turn on the Kardashians.
this is like this was like I flew to New York
I was in a room with people who
were like better versions of me and who I like
stalked online for years being like
fuck they got that rule fuck you know like
and they're all in this room with me
and I'm like have to act cool
and so I'm like hi I've never heard of you before
I'm Owen meanwhile it's like they're in my search
yeah for real yeah I've looked them up on IMDB
every second of every day and it was just hard
it was like you go into a room you're like in front
of this panel it's like
it's like America's Next Top Model
It's like hard.
She's like, I only have seven photos in my hands.
Literally, literally.
It was scary, but it was such an amazing experience.
We shot adults in Toronto, which I've never been to.
Have you been to Toronto?
Have you been to Toronto?
Vancouver's gorgeous.
Yeah.
How was Toronto?
Well, Vancouver, I heard my friends from Vancouver and she's like a surfer.
And she like skates and she's like hot and outdoorsy and cool.
And she's like, that's what Vancouver gives.
And then Toronto's like New York, like a city.
Right.
Yeah, that's more your vibe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm not a camper love.
So I like Toronto because it was a lot of shopping.
Nice.
Period.
And food.
Period.
So I liked it.
We love that.
But I think a lot of people from Vancouver don't like Toronto.
Yeah, I think so.
They have a lot of inner city beef.
Yeah, there's some inner city beef going on up there.
Anyways, I love both their cities.
Anyone listening.
I like both of you guys.
No beef here.
Yeah, yeah.
Sorry.
I'm not picky.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, what are you excited?
What are you, like, excited for people to see when it comes to adults?
Like, is there anything in particular excited about your character or any particular episode?
Well, no spoilers, obviously.
No, I spoil the whole thing.
I'm like, well, I almost went really dark and really scary about a fake spoiler that I will not say no.
Adults, I think, hopefully if we did our job right, it's just like a really fun watch.
And hopefully it feels like a good,
sitcom that you just like love to like I think we grew up watching friends and yeah not to compare
this with friends at all the 20 season genius show but I just think it it hopefully it gives that
same vibe where it's just you're laughing and also you're like you like the characters I play a
version of myself um so if you don't like me you might not like my character in the show I'm a little
more emotionally guarded okay and how I am in real life I'm like an open book but in the show
I'm kind of figuring that out.
And that's my journey towards adulthood.
It's actually figuring out how to be more, you know, open.
That's so exciting.
Which is great.
And I think my favorite episode to shoot was, I don't know if I can give this away,
but I'm going to do it.
And then if I cut it, we cut it.
I, in the show, I become, I'm friends with everyone.
I'm like a people pleaser, and they call me a friend slut.
And I'm like, literally like, we'll say hi to everyone and go to dinner with anyone
who said hi to me, which is not too far.
from me. But if I don't like you, I'll leave the dinner. That's true. That's me. This character is
not that. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways, I become friends with this man who later become, we find out,
is a subway stabber, has stabbed someone on the subway. And he's like literally sitting in our
table and I'm like, oh my God, I just saw you on the news. So that's really fun. That's, I think,
my favorite episode. Oh, that's so sweet. I love that. And I think that's really cool what you said
about it being like a feel good show that feels like you can relate to them and see yourself,
especially because when I talked to Quinta Brunson at the Golden Globes earlier this year.
Oh, I know.
I saw that interview.
Oh, yeah.
And I asked her, what do you want to see more of in TV and film?
And she was like, I want to see more like fun, like more silly, more like kind of like friend loving like kind of energy and shows.
Because obviously we have a lot of serious shows, which are great too and dramatic and that's great too.
But like good comedy shows.
Totally.
I love that.
I think we had so many of them.
Yeah, that's true.
And we had so many amazing movies.
Like Will Farrell was.
starring in so much great shit back you know what i mean like elf was out like where's elf now like i want
my elf right um yeah i think that we're just we're we're lacking in that category and we have thank god
for shows like hacks and yeah only murders in the building and yeah the other two and all of these
great shows but they're slowly like leaving the air yeah you're seeing the saddest thing is watching
the comedy that you love like driving by a poster that's like the final season i'm like what
i just got into this it's so sad so hopefully
this is that feel good show for people.
I'm hoping.
I'm hoping people can smoke some weed,
period, take an edible.
And you're describing my Friday night, so I'm there.
Actually, my everyday night, if I'm being honest.
What's your dream role?
What would be a dream role for you?
Whether it's like TV show or movie.
Can I tell you something?
I would love to be in an animated movie.
Oh, I think you would kill an animated movie.
I would love to be in an animated.
Like adult animation or like Pixar kind of do?
I mean, Pixar probably because the big buck.
Probably paid the big book.
No, I would, I think adult animation.
Like, I love, I just, I want to be like a little gopher or something that like fucks.
Like a big mouth or something.
Totally.
I love big mouth.
You would do so good in something like that.
Nick Kroll, um, executive produced adults.
Yeah.
So, that's cool.
I didn't know that.
He's amazing.
So sick.
Wonderful.
And I was, I tried to sidle up to him a few times on set and was like, grease the wheels.
So big mouth.
And then he eventually.
looked at me and said, yes, you'd be great on Big Mouth if it wasn't ending.
It's ending this season. I was like, not loving your AT&T or T Mobile Bill.
Yeah, we've been hearing that a lot. Good news. Bring your AT&T or T Mobile Bill to Verizon
and we'll give you a better deal. So get away from that unfortunate phone bill and get to
Verizon. Run, ride, canoe. Whatever it takes, we'll be here.
Bring your AT&T or T Mobile Bill to a Verizon store today and we'll give you a better deal
on the best network. A better deal. No surprises. That's Verizon.
Best Network based on Route Metrics, Best World Network.
performing the US second half 2025 all rights reserved must provide a recent consumer mobile bill

fuck well now you're telling me yeah exactly shit I could have been on it for the last eight
seasons like what the fuck um it's what I love big mouth oh that's so cool so I would do something like
that would be like I think you would kill it something like I also like this sounds
absolutely insane and I should be so lucky but there's something about seeing your I'm doing
ADR for adults right now and going in and seeing yourself on screen and I'm like,
I don't like that.
I'd rather like voice a gopher.
You know what I mean?
Because then you're like, oh, make the gopher's cute.
Oh, it's fine if you make the gopher ugly.
Like you don't care.
You know what I mean?
It's not a reflection.
I know.
You're freaking me out, honestly, because I had to get used to see myself all the time in
the way I do now.
Totally.
If I start acting, because now I told you already I'm working on acting, now I'm going to
see myself in a different.
Some lenses I'm like, you hate me.
Oh, 100%.
By the way, some friend's lenses.
A friend just took a picture of me.
He was like, Owen, I want to take some press photos of you.
I was like, this is a me free press photos.
Great.
Delete.
I'm not kidding.
And block.
I'm not kidding.
Block you as a friend.
I couldn't believe the photos he took.
How rude.
No, seriously.
They're really offensive.
I don't know what he thought.
I was.
Are you mad at me or something?
No, literally.
I did something to your mother.
I don't know what I did though.
I'm trying to figure it was so rude.
I know.
there's some pictures, like some lenses, I'm like, oh man, I probably look terrible. And then when I
watch you back, I'm like, oh my God, I look stunning. And then some I'm like, I felt so good that
day. And I'm like, oh my God. You guys just let me leave the house looking like that. Totally.
Oh, Jesus Christ. It's so mean. And then there's the worst, which is when a friend takes a photo
of you. Yeah. sends it to you and it's already face tuned. And you're like, wait, what?
You're like, you really think I needed it? Can I see the original?
You're like, I looked at that. Hey, why do I look?
like why do it's like a face app i'm like kiss two so i'm like hollywood four i'm like looking
like insane it's that bold glamour totally totally totally i'm like i have eyelashes to the seal i'm like i don't
think i have my eyelashes into like why did you put them on me it's really offensive i think you
would kill in an animated movie right what's your dream role hmm i don't know honestly i'm like just
cast me in anything at this fucking point i'm like whatever the rock doesn't want you can cast me
we're about the same build i'm like or jason memo we're built
the same. We look the same from behind.
Honestly, I think, I think we talked about it on your show when I went on your show, too.
I would love to do something like, like an Abbott or like something like adults too would
be so fun, like something new and lighthearted and funny.
Okay, T, let me know.
Well, I know half the people on that cast, I would hope so.
Wait, literally.
Literally.
No, you were so funny.
When you came on my show, I was like, what's your dream role?
And you were like, I still remember it.
It makes me laugh to this day.
You're like, um, you're like, either Abbott Elementary or, um, um, you're like, either Abbott Elementary
or
and then you said,
I think you said,
Pirates,
or House of the Dragon.
House of the Dragon.
Either Abbott Elementary
or House of the Dragon.
I was like,
you were like,
Disney or Pirates of the Caribbean.
Yeah, literally.
It was like, what?
New Girl or Pirates.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, literally.
The office or
the Hulk.
Like, what?
Yeah, for real.
Oh my God.
I'm like,
The Office or a triangle of sadness.
Yeah, either of those.
Right, right.
I'd be super.
to it.
Those two kind of overlap.
I see the Venn diagrams somewhere.
I see it.
I know.
I feel like at this point, I'm just like, I'll take anything.
I hear you.
Anything anyone needs me for.
Go ahead.
Let me know.
Do you watch movies?
I'm like, yeah.
We were talking about Chris Fleming earlier, how much we love him.
I'm obsessed.
Chris Fleming once described himself as a culture scavenger.
He said, I just, when everybody's done and no one's talked about it for 20 years,
I go and I rifle through the garbage.
like a little raccoon and I pick them up and I'm like now I'm gonna watch this wait I'm obsessed and I was
like that's honestly how I watch movies I feel like and I think it's especially when I'm working a lot
I watch the same things totally all the time totally just as like almost background noise at that point
and then when I finally take a break that's when I try to watch new things I hear you I'm kind of a culture
scavenger me too yeah like I watched it so late like way after everybody I literally texted my
boyfriend the other day and I said have you seen making a murder
which by the way came out in literally 20 I was like this is a brilliant film
Carol Baskin I literally was like Carol Baskin where is she
my boyfriend was like you miss like so much of pop like Haley Bieber dressed up as her
for Halloween eight years what if you were like you literally you literally
literally no one's talking about this piece of literature I think it's brilliant
no I'm sort of like that I love that that's why we're so like totally we have so much
Well, we can watch like 30 Rock for the first time together.
I know, for real.
I was like, sometimes people ask me like the most obvious and basic films or TV shows.
They're like, oh, you've seen like, I don't know, the godfather, right?
And I'm like, no.
And I was just talking to my friend Kendall and she was saying, sometimes I lie and I just say, yeah, because I don't want to do the whole part where they go, you got to watch it.
And I'm like, I do have to watch it.
I always lie.
No, I always, about every single TV show.
I'm blatantly
blatantly lied on my podcast the other day
about White Lotus. Somebody asked me
about it and I was like, I love it. I love
Walton Gagins. I blatantly lied.
I was like Amy Lou Woods a genius. I think she is.
Never seen her.
By the way, now people are going to know I lied
in that episode. There you go.
Well, movie magic.
Totally movie magic. I watched it. I promise.
No, I always lie.
Yeah, me too, about stuff like that because it's harmless.
this. Also the White Lotus. I had never watched the White Lotus either. I hosted the premiere.
I never watched that show. Big fan. Big fan. Never seen it. Never seen it. Totally.
Huge fan though. Totally. And I'm honestly glad I did this season. This season popped off. Everybody
was so excited and happy about it. Everybody loved it. It's amazing. If we had watched it.
And you know you watched it. And I think you're freaking talented, Mike White. Um, no, he's obviously,
he's obviously so talented. I just haven't watched it. We would kill in White Lotus. They should cast us.
I, I, I, I, go as friends.
Can I be honest?
What is it about?
That I do know.
I do, I do, I can tell you.
It's basically the white lotus is the name of the resort.
And then each season, they have people, like, vacationing at the resort.
But each season starts with a dead person.
And it's someone in the principal cast.
And then, like, you see a dead body or you know something, someone is dead, but you don't know who it is until the end of the season.
So then it, like, the first episode happens and then you jump, like, do a chime jump back to when they all get there.
And then you learn more about them as they stay at the resort and shit.
That sounds like a great show.
So it's all.
Well, now I'm sold.
That should win.
I mean.
So basically that's the point.
And like each story is different.
And all these people are like sometimes connected in ways.
Sometimes they aren't whatever.
It's just like all of them are fucked up and rich.
I love it.
And that's kind of.
And I guess like the whole and this is all from my sister who has watched the White Lotus.
I know Mike White said like he goes and vacations at resorts in different countries.
and then he like observes and then writes roles.
That's actually genius.
Yeah.
So that's scary.
And he writes it all alone, right?
Yeah.
So then he writes it and he writes out the characters that way and then kind of builds
them out throughout the show.
And they all sign like crazy NDAs so like none of them can tell anyone outside of the exact
like team who dies and all that shit.
It's like crazy.
That's so we have to be on that.
It's like clue.
Oh my God.
We have to be on that next season.
I love the show.
This is our plea to be on this show.
We love you, Mike.
Yeah, we're genius.
Oh, Mike White.
We love your work.
And we just have been following you for you.
Right.
I loved him in School of Rock.
He was in School of Rock.
He was actually amazing.
And Survivor.
Oh, yeah.
I actually do know his work very well.
I just haven't seen the show.
But I know I have to.
I've seen clips of it on Evan Ross Katz's Instagram, like,
posting like, Jennifer for Coolidge and stuff that I feel like I know enough about it to know it's iconic.
You're so me.
Because sometimes I'll be people like, yeah, I've seen it.
And it's literally I've seen.
clips on TikTok or Instagram and I feel like I I know enough to get by in a conversation. I could
just contribute here and there and people will think I've seen it too. Totally. Well also is it scary
the White Lotus? Yeah I think so. I think it can be well it's like thrilling I wouldn't say it's
scary it's a thriller and you're asking me and I haven't seen it either. Totally. Someone can confirm
is it scary guys? Yeah it's thriller. Thriller. There you go. I love a thriller. But I think the plot lines
are just insane like the shit they have them doing. I'm so ready to watch it. Like the shit they had Patrick
Schwarzenegger doing this past season.
I was like,
oh, I write about it.
Oh, yeah.
With the brother?
Yeah.
See, I know things.
I can talk.
Yeah, exactly.
If I met Patrick Schwarzenegger tomorrow,
I could be like,
you are fucking amazing.
I love that scene with your brother.
It's insane.
I mean, I should.
Maybe I shouldn't say that to him.
I loved those incest sense.
Yeah, yeah.
You killed it.
I actually saw him at Coachella.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
I saw him.
Oh my God.
So did I,
but I thought it was a dream.
Believe it or not,
I saw him at,
at DJ Mustard's set.
What was he doing there?
I don't know.
Everyone was at DJ Mustard set.
So was I.
Everyone was.
Every friend I text was like,
where were you with DJ Mustard?
I was like, why were you there?
I know she was,
because he was on at the same time as Lady Gaga.
So I had to pick.
I had to choose.
So you picked DJ.
Yeah, I did.
But that's only because I know Lady Gaga is going on tour
and I would spend money to go see her.
Totally.
But I wouldn't spend money to go see DJ Mustard.
So I was like, now's my time.
You got to pick and choose.
This year was my year for horror sets.
So that's what I was.
was prioritizing the whores.
Totally.
As a former whore myself,
I was like, I gotta support my girls.
Gotta go shake ass.
I hear you.
Yeah, no.
And I saw him there.
I saw Patrick Schwarzenegger there when I was leaving the set.
Why was he there?
I don't know.
And he was there and he was doing one of these.

You know, he has that dead stare in his eyes, and he's like, that's what he was doing.
Can I be honest?
Yeah.
Hot.
I like what I hear.
Wish I saw it in person.
Would you go to stagecoach?
No.
No.
They don't like my kind over there.
Trust me, I'm not going.
I am definitely, I don't think welcome.
I'd be public enemy number one over there probably.
A lot of my ops are probably going to that.
The men who hate me on the internet.
100%.
Oh, I bet they love stagecoach.
Everyone we hate love stagecoach.
I know.
And the thing is this, my best friend in the world who I would literally give any organ to my life to.
Love stagecoach.
And it is scary.
Yeah.
It is the one thing, I am frightened.
I am sort of like, I don't think I know you.
It scares me.
But it's also like maybe it's so fun and we just have to go.
I know.
That feels like one of those things where if presented with the right opportunity,
I might be interested.
Totally.
Because I'd be just to say I went.
Like just to get the experience.
What's the right opportunity?
Like money?
Yeah.
Oh, like me not buying anything.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I would never pay to go there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Being flew out.
Totally.
Totally.
I hear you.
I would go with, yeah.
It was like gorgeous.
Yeah, that's one of those.
Cabana.
They build a cabana for us.
I would go.
Fuck it.
Although, do they do those there?
I don't know.
No, not at all.
I would go.
I actually have some fun facts about you.
Wait, what?
I'm going to read them to you now.
Okay, this one says you played both Beast and Gaston in the same school production,
a Beauty and the Beast because you were the only boy.
That's true.
In school?
Imagine that.
Yeah, school production.
What grade?
I was young.
It was like fourth grade.
I was really young.
But imagine the beast and Gaston have to fight.
So you're fighting yourself.
So I'm the beast and I'm like,
Gastonaw, you cannot.
And then I'm like, excuse me.
Take care of my costume.
Me like, yes, I will.
The beast.
It was a disaster.
Literally.
Well,
and then second performance,
my mom's like,
could we get a stand?
I don't think the beast needs to be Owen at this point.
You're all out of breath.
every time.
You're like,
because you're running from one side to the other.
Also,
at that point,
like,
I forget who wins.
You know what I mean?
One performance,
Gaston's going to win,
love.
I'm tired.
It was hilarious.
Yeah,
it was,
it's the,
it's the perk of being the only boy in Peter is that you get the leads.
You got two,
two lead roles.
Yeah,
yeah.
Okay,
let's see what else we have on here.
These are fun.
These are like fun fact.
They're like pretty insane.
Now,
that is a really fun fact.
Yeah.
Okay, so it says that you had a blog on Huffington Post when you were 13.
No, Drew, no, Drew.
I'm like, what did you chat about on the Huffington Post?
No, Drew.
I feel like we talked about this a little bit on when I was on your show, but I can't remember.
I can't believe this is coming up.
I feel like you sprinted past it like you're trying to.
Oh, of course.
And I obviously cut it from the episode.
Like I would like to remove that from the internet.
I was a hustler.
Clearly, but you're working at 13.
I was 13 years old.
I was at a party.
Yeah.
With my uncle who was a writer.
And my uncle introduced me to this woman.
And this woman worked at the Huffington Post.
Yeah.
And my 13-year-old self, my little crazy narcissistic ass, shook her hand and said,
I would like to write for your blog.
I have some things I have to say
I have a lot of stuff she goes what do you have I said there's so much drama at my school
you you would love it
and she was like okay this kid seems unhinged
so let's give him a blog so they gave me a blog
and the first blog post that the title is I love my friends
and it's all it's complete shade my mom was like this is so sweet
it's about that one friend I was shading my friend
who didn't come to my birthday party.
I was like, I love my friends who come to my birthday parties.
It's like,
I especially love when my friends except my invites and actually show up.
Literally, thank God for the friends who show up and bring gifts.
Like, it's literally straighting now other.
It was insane.
It was just a way for me to talk shit about people.
It was crazy.
You're like the town crier on Huffington Post.
I want it gone from the internet.
And it won't.
Trust me, I've tried everything.
I've like hired publicists paid an absorbent amount of money
that you can't even explain to ask these publicists to delete it.
And they're like, hey, we can't?
I'm like, can I have my money back?
Honestly.
This is crazy.
But you love your friends.
I love my friends who come to my birthday party.
It's still true, actually.
Maybe I should repose that when I hate a friend.
You should or on your birthday.
You should put a screenshot of your, I love my friends when they come to my birthday
party.
It's so upsetting.
It's so upset.
I can't believe I did that.
But I was 13.
so I give myself a little actually 13's too old to be doing that think about 13 13 no 13's like old
like I feel like that's that makes the most sense at 13 you would have that kind of confidence to be like I have many
important thoughts that you are missing out on I love my friends you should be I love my friends four blogs later
they're like hey we're done here we're killing your column yeah you're out of a job yeah I literally I thought I was
fucking sex in the city I was
was like, I'm Carrie Bradshaw until they cut me.
I'm like, hey, I haven't even gotten to Big.
Dear Diary.
Literally.
What other blog post did you make?
Were they only about friends?
One was about friends.
One was about family.
Probably called, I hate my family.
And one was about, I was singing at the time.
I was like wanted to be a pop star at the time.
Love.
So one was about like me on stage, like how I feel on stage when the lights hit my face.
You know what I mean?
It's like, so embarrassing.
And the next one was about probably getting fired.
It was from this being like, this is my last post.
Your farewell pose.
Yeah, yeah.
We're wrapping up.
You know, to all the fans who love me, follow me on owenthiel.com.
You know, it was like that.
It was like, I had balls back then.
That's why I said, I feel like you're so me because I've had that kind of like,
almost intangible confidence.
Like you just, you couldn't.
tell me shit when I was a kid.
Where is that now?
I'm like, where is that?
I'm like, I'm trying to find it.
It's crazy.
I know.
It's like, it's so unbridled when we're young.
Like, it's just like my confidence knew no bounds.
Like my mom said to like when I was younger, like when I was a child, I would have like,
you know, like older women or parents or whatever, they'd be like, hi.
Like when they'd say hi to me, they'd be like, oh, you're so beautiful.
And I'd be like, I know.
I'm actually dead.
That was always my response.
Was always like, yeah, I know.
Okay, thank you.
Stop talking to me.
Thank you very much.
Totally.
Wait, I just remembered too, when I was on your show, I was talking shit on Capricorns.
I just remember this right now.
And on the cutdown that you guys posted of the Capricorn thing, I saw a girl.
She commented on it and she tagged me and she goes, I am really fucking sick of Drew talking
shit on Capricorns.
Like, just get over it already.
And I'm not kidding.
I responded and I said,
girl,
you should Google the word joke and then come back to this video.
I bet you'll feel real silly.
Wait,
100%.
Hey, babe.
I'm kidding.
Wait,
also that was such a obviously a joke.
Yeah.
What the fuck?
I didn't say anything serious.
There is a little tea on copper girl.
It's a little tea.
Yeah.
It's like a little real.
Also,
so you got hit.
My bad.
So sorry.
Sorry I clocked you.
Look up Scorpio.
My sign is the worst sign on the internet.
I know.
That's what I said.
I was like,
you guys never get shit.
That's why I'm here to give.
it to you. Totally. We get such shit. Like every other, I mean, I pride myself on being a Scorpio because
ultimately I'm loyal and horny. Period. But, but two things about me, loyal and horny. Sorry. But also,
like, people hate Scorpios. I know. And I love Scorpios personally. We get along very well. No, 100%. But most people,
like, really hate us. I know. It's like Scorpio's and Geminiize the most. And then I think
Aries would be right underneath y'all. But like, I think Scorpio's for sure get the most. But,
Aries, they don't like look up their hate or something because they're always like, we're the best side.
They never care.
They don't care at all.
Like the only person who should know is them and they don't and they don't care.
They're like, no, we don't get hate.
I'm like, wait, what?
I just thought of that right now because I was like, girl, what are me and Owen are giggling and you're getting mad.
Relax.
Oh my God.
Invite her on the pod.
She flies it.
Get her on the pod.
She's here.
Okay, this other fact says while filming the movie theater camp.
they found out that there was E. coli in the lake at the summer camp.
Is that true?
Oh my God.
I just remember that.
Yeah.
That was true.
Oh, my God.
And yes.
So we,
you guys,
this is hilarious story.
They got the camp.
They were so excited about the camp.
Molly called me,
like, in tears being like,
we got the camp.
We got the funding.
It's a go.
And then three days later,
she was like,
there's E.
Coli in the lake.
Damn, girl, no wonder it was such a steal.
Literally.
She's like, that's why it was no money.
She's like, I'm understanding.
Yeah, there was E. coli in the lake.
It was horrifying.
By the way, there were kids running around, like trying to swim.
We were like, hey, you might know what to get in there.
Yeah, for real.
I actually didn't.
I thought E. coli.
I thought E. coli you get from eating your own shit.
Is that right or wrong?
I honestly don't know.
Maybe you could get it from that.
I don't know.
To this day, to be totally honest with you, now I sound really dumb.
But to this day, I'm like, so there's shit, human shit in the, I'm like, what's going on?
What is that?
How do you get, what does E. coli in the water even mean?
I think, I, I know E. coli is like bacteria.
So, I think, it's, I mean, I'm assuming, yes.
Oh, no.
So there's, those kids.
There's poop in the lake.
You guys, I know what happened.
The kids, during real.
summer camp we're shitting in the lake yeah they gotta be they're throwing turds in there
jesus why probably it takes a lot of shit to make ecoli you need a lot of turrets to poison a whole
lake jesus christ yeah there was ecoli in the lake and it was scary there were there were scenes where
we were like near the lake and i was me being so down for anything became a diva and i was like
hey i don't want to get near that lake i was like so can we film it anywhere else yeah there's
there's like a scent emanating off that lake it reeks the lake
Yikes.
Okay.
My last fun fact for you actually got sent to me, and it's literally just this picture of
Timothy Shalamee that you posted on your Facebook in 2016.
Instagram.
I posted on my Instagram and on Facebook apparently.
That's Facebook, babe.
Yeah.
Get a load of that.
Oh, no.
So I just realized that my Facebook is attached to my Instagram, which means that every,
every post I've been posting has been going to my Facebook.
Yes.
if it's on Instagram, yes, most often.
Oh my God, that's how my grandparents are seeing this.
I was like, I don't think they followed me on Instagram.
This is great.
Good to know.
This picture with no context, no caption.
Okay, so, uh, did you take this pic?
I did.
You did take this big.
Proudly.
Right.
So I, yeah, well, we dated.
Can you imagine?
I come up.
Breaking news.
So I did Timothy Sharry.
We're ex lovers.
Sorry, Kylie.
He's by.
I know he and I became friends.
Yeah.
First week of college.
Love.
I was in college for literally three weeks.
I went to NYU for three weeks and then I was like, hey, I'm leaving this.
I'm going back home.
I'm scared.
I miss my parents.
But first week we met and we were in class together and I became, he became like, I became
obsessed with him.
He was like so nice.
He was in a movie with Molly Gordon.
I keep talking about her.
He was in a movie with Molly called Love the Coopers and they were just on set together.
And I knew Molly really well.
So Molly was like, meet my friend Timmy.
And then we became friends.
And then this is a true story.
Two years later, we kind of kept in touch.
And he was like, I was in London.
And he was filming something in Italy.
And he was like, pop over if you're around.
And I was like, can't.
Sorry, I'm in London.
Right.
It was call me by your name.
Should have went.
Should have went to that set.
He's wonderful.
Then maybe you would have been Kylie Jenner at this point if you had gone.
Well, I'm the OG Kylie.
I want Kylie to watch this and be threatened.
Watch your back.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's wonderful.
I actually lost touch with him, but then I recently saw him.
And he screamed my name so loud.
And I screamed back, you remember me?
And it was the sweetest moment.
And we hugged.
And then he ultimately left with Kylie.
So that's great.
I really thought we had a connection, but obviously not.
All right.
Well, you know, he was mine before he was yours.
I'll get him next time.
next time I'll take that train to Italy.
We were just at Coachella and he was there.
And I was standing with him.
And somebody said, how do you guys know each other?
And I said, oh, we went to college together.
And they looked at Timmy and they were like, oh, before he dropped out.
And I was like, well, actually, I dropped out first.
Yeah.
And they looked at both of us.
And they were like, and it's time to refresh your yard during spring backyard days at the Home Depot.

Both done you so well.
They didn't know anything that I've been in.
So they were like, this is great for both of you.
I was like, okay, obviously Timothy has.
That a better career, obviously.
Girl, whatever.
I did it first.
I dropped out for her.
Sorry.
Shouldn't have done that, obviously.
Such bullshit.
That's so funny.
And we kind of talked about it at your show.
Obviously, I met him at SAG Awards for the first time.
And I brought up Britney because I was like, you know my friend Brittany.
And he was like, Brittany.
I think he was afraid that I was talking about like a random Britney.
And I was like, Broke.
And then he goes, oh, yes, yes, yes.
I think he got nervous for a second.
Of course.
He was like, which one?
Yeah.
I get it.
Yes, of course.
Brittany,
I do that all the time
to make up names.
So do I.
But he was really nice,
really funny.
You know,
that was my inn
to talk to celebrities
when I was young.
Really?
I remember I was at a premiere,
I snuck into a premiere,
rush hour.
Remember rush hour?
Yes, of course.
So I snuck into,
they had their after party
at Katzuya,
and I snuck in with a friend,
and I walked up to Parrisilton,
I have a picture on my Instagram,
I walked up to Parrilton,
and I said,
I looked insane.
Okay, I was like,
didn't, there were in suits,
I was in a sweatshirt,
Like I looked like, I was like, why is this kid here?
Yeah.
I had dreads at the time.
I was like, it just was not.
And I walked up to Paris and I was like, I know your friend.
I was, I'm 13.
Okay.
I think I know your friend.
That was my inn lying about.
And that tells me, and that brings me to my blog.
I love my friends.
I'd like to read something if that's okay.
Literally.
I read it to her.
She's great.
I don't, I don't know her at all now, but I knew her that.
Yeah.
Well, what do you mean?
You know her friend.
Yeah, exactly.
I know a really good friend.
I made up a name.
like Marcus.
I'm not her friend Marcus.
She was like, oh, yeah.
Do you want to pick?
I was like, yeah.
She said, okay, all right.
She's like, Marcus is not a real name.
Also, you're 10.
I don't believe you because you're a minor.
She was also scared.
She's like, Marcus?
Is he also 10?
When I was at the Sag Awards too,
right before Timothy Shelby
came up to me to do the press,
he was at the person next to me,
and his, like, family was behind him
and his, like, team and stuff.
And his mom came up to me and she's like,
would you mind taking a picture of us?
And I was like, oh, yeah, sure.
And I was like taking pictures of them.
And I was like, get in there, dad.
And I was like directing.
I was like, wait, the lighting's bad.
Sorry, hold on.
Wait, that's hilarious.
I was like, perfect.
And then I was taking, I was like, I'll do some side ones.
Perfect.
You're like, and do you want one when he wins?
Yeah.
And then I flip the camera, take a picture myself.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then I'll hop in there.
Yeah.
And then I'll go ahead.
And then we'll do a silly one with me.
Yeah.
Oh, you guys.
That is.
I have been with, I'm not naming names, but I have been with a friend of mine who wouldn't care if I named her.
But now I just gave it away because it's her.
Okay.
I was with a girl who's famous.
And she was, I forget where we were, I think, Erwan.
And they asked for her to take a picture of them at Erwan.
And she was like, of course.
She was like, let's get in.
And meanwhile, they were like, no, no, no, just of us.
Oh, I love one like that.
I love that.
A quick old humbling.
We were dying.
Yeah.
It was amazing.
Sometimes I panic about that.
Like when I first started getting recognized in public, people would ask me.
And sometimes they get really nervous and I can tell they want to ask me for a picture.
Only once have I been like, oh, did you want a picture?
And they went, no, I'm good.
Yeah, never again.
I'm never assuming ever again, ever again.
No, I'm good.
No, okay, perfect.
Me too.
I don't want to take a picture.
Oh my God.
Thank God.
You didn't want to take a picture.
I don't want to take a picture.
I don't want to have taken a picture anyway.
Because I don't have storage on my phone.
Yeah, don't even bother asking me, by the way.
Don't even bother.
That's what's like, oh no.
I've had that before.
I once had a girl take a picture with me.
She came up.
She's like, oh, can I get a picture with you?
And I said, yeah, yeah, sure.
And then I took a picture with her and her friends were like waiting for her.
And then she's like, thanks.
And she turned around.
And then her friends were talking to her or something.
And we're probably like five feet apart at this point.
And she goes, I don't know what the fuck her name is.
I just think she's on TikTok or something.
Right.
Hey, queen, I can still hear you.
Wait, I'm of sick.
I don't know what the fuck her name is.
I'm obsessed.
Perfect.
You go and tag me in that right now.
You go, no, tag me in it right now.
Look my name up.
I can always tell when they don't know my name because they're like, I've seen you on TikTok.
Totally.
And sometimes they'll even say like, oh, don't tell me.
Don't tell me.
And they'll stand there and like try to guess, which is just there's no dignity in that.
I have seen somebody whose name actually I couldn't remember.
but I would never go up to this person.
But I've seen, I know this man from many movies.
He's in like, he's a staple in movies, but you don't really know his name.
And I literally am blanking on his name.
But he was in an Airwant.
And somebody asked him for a picture.
And they were like, wait, wait, you were in Bride Wars?
No.
No, wait.
Wait, which movie?
You were in something with Kate Hudson.
What was it?
And then he's like, no, I wasn't.
And they were like, oh, Anne Hathaway?
And he's now listing his credits.
What is this?
Where's Waldo?
Literally.
Don't make me do this.
No.
I felt bad for him.
I almost wanted to go up to him and take a picture and put it on like Google somehow.
I try to get his name so I could be like, no, it's this person.
You know, I also can't help.
Yeah, I was like, oh, I'm so sorry.
I know, there's nothing cute or fun about that, especially when you can tell that they
like, they feel like they've seen you somewhere, but they just don't know your name.
Totally.
But they still want to be able to tell people they've met you so they still want the picture.
Oh, God.
I think my boyfriend would be most starstruck by you.
He's obsessed with you.
I actually think so.
And you know, given your roster of friends, that is a high honor.
I'll fucking take it.
Oh, I knows everybody.
Oh, it knows the most famous people in the fucking world.
No, I'm a netbo friend.
I collect so that they'll put me in things.
Okay, so I would love to kind of ask you some advice questions for any aspiring actors.
I'd love to know if you have any advice for anyone who's like looking to get into the
business and maybe is like whether they're feeling like nervous or worried about it or maybe they're
currently trying to get cast and stuff and like we were talking about it's a long process it's such a
long process but i'd love if you have any good any words of wisdom for them i would say this is so
cheesy but i would say don't give up right i didn't and finally after 10 years i get a a role that i
can actually sink my teeth into finally you know like and i think the last
little things have all shaped me and made me a better actor and just being on set being on set for
one day being a day player it's like really shaped me so totally i think nothing's too small
absolutely and don't give up honestly honestly sometimes the cheesiest advice is the best advice totally i
also think like i i forget who said this to me recently but oh i think it was brittney snow
came on my podcast and we were talking about something and she was like i was she's in like 10 shows
right now. So I was like listing off her shows as a joke. And she was like, I'm barely in that.
I'm barely. And then she was like, no, I need to rephrase that because I am in it.
It doesn't matter if you're in it for one day. She's like, I'm in. And so I think like, I always self
deprecate and that's kind of who I am as a person. But like being in theater camp, even if I had two
scenes, it was the most rewarding thing to be to watch myself into theater. It's a pinch me
moment. It doesn't matter how, how small the role is. I absolutely. I think it's, it's important to just do what
you love. And by the way, doing what you love also means like making shit with friends.
Like, make his money.
Tea. Like, I made so many shorts that ultimately I did trash because they were horrible.
Because my friends aren't talented. No, I'm joking. It was because of me. I cast myself in the
leading role and I shouldn't have done that. I, it's, it's really important to do things with
friends and just like make stuff when you have an idea, which is obviously, look at your TikTok.
Yeah. You just have an idea and you post it. Yeah, like, thank God. For the sake of making art.
Totally. Absolutely.
Thank God that like now we have the ability to like you have a thought you get to post a video and if it goes nowhere that's cool and if it gets five million views that's sick too.
Like yeah it's just great.
I know. I think and I think that's why you're such a shiny example of like of blending the world of like because I think you obviously you joke a lot about being an epipo friend and you do have many many famous friends.
But like I said like you're all artists. You're an artist too.
So like I feel like you have such a genuine authentic connection to them.
and that speaks through your work.
Like clearly you're very talented.
I know you're very talented.
I tell you all the time.
I jerk you off all the time.
Oh, and you know this.
You're jerking me, baby.
But I think it speaks to like not just like your endurance and perseverance as an actor or as an artist,
but also just like how authenticity really does win out in the end.
Like it will come eventually.
And we talked a little bit about this on your show too about how sometimes like people who look like us,
talk like us, act like us.
It's a lot harder for us to get in the door.
I can't believe I'm in this door.
Right.
It's insane.
So we have to find like creative ways to get in the door and you found a really creative way to get in the door.
It's like becoming friends with famous people.
No, it's like it's honestly and charm is like half the battle.
Like being like genuine, being a good person and like having a lot of charm and charisma is like something that you have in spades.
And I think that's why you've come as far as you have.
That's very nice.
I would, I will say I think the people I've become friends with, I for a few of them, I knew them.
famous people and I was just a fan and then we became friends.
But a lot of them actually, I didn't know would be famous.
Molligward and I grew up with.
Rachel Son and I knew since before she was on a sitcom.
Yeah.
And she was, you know what I'm saying?
Absolutely.
And I just loved their work.
And I loved their artistry so much and their talent.
And I believed in them so much that I was like, of course I'm fucking sticking with you.
And then now obviously look at them.
Like it's just, it's, I think it's really about surrounding yourself with people that you
trust and love and love their vision.
Yeah.
And you're believing.
even like you're happy for that's that's something I think that's another reason why I think to
the universe works in your favor is because you are so genuinely happy for everyone and I think like
people in this industry especially that is so rare like being genuinely happy for your friends
it is so rare yeah and I feel like another advice I would have yeah somebody is get a friend that
actually you can call when a win happens yeah because I feel like I've never experienced this because
my friends are all very happy for me because I'm happy for them and I only surround myself
around people who are happy for each other. But I will say I watched my people who are in the
business who I'm not as close with like struggle with like they don't want to tell their friends
their wins. You know what I mean? And they struggle with like actually like saying that that something's
good in their life. Yeah. And I feel like you have to celebrate the little things. And who else should
you call? Like you have to call your friends. I call my mom every minute of the day. Even like, I'm like,
hey, I filled up my gas. It's a win.
But like I can't, you need a friend like that too.
Yeah, absolutely. Especially in this business.
Totally.
Because it's so isolating. And for people like us who are marginalized already in multiple
ways, it's like we need community more than anything because it's already hard enough
for us. But that's why I think it's working in your favor and you're stacking up wins
for yourself now because you've earned it. But also because you're always so happy for
other people. And I think the universe rewards people like that because it's genuine.
It is. It's so genuine.
It's genuine to the point.
Like, auditioning for adults, there were all these other black gay guys who looked like me because that was the character.
And I literally, at the end of the audition process, I was like, okay, if there's any beef between us, let's squash it.
Whoever gets this, we should all be happy for.
I'm like, I go, let's get drinks.
And suddenly, we're all getting drinks.
We're all in a group chat.
It's obviously awkward now.
I'm like, I can't really answer that group chat.
But no, but it's like, it's wonderful.
It's like, that's what we should all be.
You're so sweet.
You're like, let's all hold hands and pray for each other.
No, literally.
But by the way, there's going to be a role that someone else gets.
And I wish I had gotten it.
But thank God they got it for a certain reason.
Like, I'm not going to get every role.
That other person who's my competitor isn't going to get every role.
Like there's so many, there's a place for all of us.
I agree.
And that's why I love you.
I feel like I sensed that about you the first time we met, which is like, I feel
the same where I'm like, I feel like there's more than enough room for us.
Like we all bring something so different.
Totally.
I have no fear of lack.
So I feel like you operate in an abundance mindset.
Totally.
So do why?
Well, I'm like, if you win, I win.
That's the other thing.
Thank God.
Like, thank God you're winning.
If you meet Timothy Shalameh.
If you meet Timothy Shalameh.
Right.
We all win in the end.
Totally.
Well, I fucking love you.
I love you so much.
And I'm speaking of who I'm happy for.
I'm happy for you.
Same.
I've been watching you for forever.
Fucking same.
I love you.
You're the best.
And thank you so much for coming on the show.
