Hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show starring me, your favorite. Everybody knows me who cares about me. On to the guest. Wolf, whiff. I'm so happy to be here. Oh, my gosh. I've been texting everybody I know. Just like bringing it up. Just like, I'm going to be a Drew. I'm like, you know the Drew. I'm like, you know the Drew.

I actually brought you up to the guy at the bagel shop today. That's a bagel shop. I was making small talk. Okay. Bagel pub up the street. He was like, oh, how's your day going? I'm like, great. He's like, oh, you get work?

I was like, yeah, I'm filming a podcast. He's obviously fishing. So I'm like, yeah. Obviously, he's so nosy. He needs to now. I told him it was you and he was really excited. Really? Yeah, shout out bagel pub.

Door code. One, two, three, four, five for the bathroom. Shouts out, bagel pub. Yeah. I'm glad to hear you're a fan. Thank you for having me. Seriously. Oh my gosh.

I'm so happy to have you. I'm excited we finally got to meet up. We were supposed to meet in L.A., but thankfully I came to New York and we can make it happen. Yeah, you're on your East Coast journey right now. Right. Are you loving it?

Yeah. Oh, you don't like East Coast? No, I'm kidding. I don't mind the East Coast. It's grown on me. You give West Coast Girl energy. Yeah, which is strange because when I first blew up on TikTok, I had a lot of people say that they were shocked

because they thought I might be from the East Coast. And I said, that's just because I'm a bitch. It's the attitude problem. That's different. It is. It's because I'm mean. Yeah, well, I think people on the East Coast, That's why I like it here so much.

Everyone just says how they feel and it kind of comes off a little rude sometimes. But yeah. You know what you're going to get every time. I'm cool with that. Like an upfront energy. You blend in then. Right. I think what I hate is the cold.

It's freezing over here, Mama. I am the sweatiest person to ever walk the face. Me too. So I need reset. I almost had a fan today on the subway. I was like, relax. Just kind of like settling for him. Yeah.

The weather here is horrible. There's like you guys have like three weeks where it's awesome. Yeah. And then every other, it's either too cold or too fucking hot. It's like those three glorious weeks though. Yeah. They're really nice.

I was in a wedding this October in Dominican Republic. Oh. It was hell on earth for me. Yeah. The moisture in the air. Well, I love a humid heat. You don't like, oh, you don't like heat at all. I was in the wedding in khaki pants.

We're walking down the aisle. I'm like, why is my shit wet? I said, oh my God, my shins are sweating right now. You turn around and you sweat through your shirt. Oh, I didn't. Some of the girls are. Oh, my God. Actually, I was okay.

I was the only brought a fan because I'm like a sweaty. guy so I knew everyone's past my fan around I ended making it through they edited the fuck out of those photos we were damn you said get me in post yeah they did and he did me and he got me in post he got me again I'm happy to hear you're a sweaty girl so am I yeah it's and nobody

sweats in this industry well yeah I'm on medication for it now seriously I had to be because I get it's the anxiety they're like you need a pill so it's called propanol that's literally not the right word at all it's for like anxiety inducing so it like it relaxes your

heart rate. I do it before I go on stage. So it like it doesn't stop your anxiety but like the physical manifestations of anxiety like heart racing sweatiness. It kind of sets you. Is that why you sweat? Well, I think it makes it worse. Oh that's, I'm not nervous than it though. Clearly dry as a bone as you can see. I sweat. I feel like I sweat just because I'm a big bitch. Like I just I'm a I carry a wide load. Hey me too. I'm carrying a heavy load. Oh. I mean I was actually skinny. So when when TikTok was going down. I was downloading all my videos. And I'm like, damn, I was like it really good in 2021. I got to flip it back real quick. Jeez, I got in a relationship. That's what happened. I think you look fantastic. Well, thank you. Yeah. I think you look fantastic. Speaking of TikTok, though,

yeah. I do want to talk about your rise on TikTok. Well, first, when you first joined, what was your goal? Was it just to do silly stuff? Was it to be a boyer? I love to ask. I was low key on TikTok for so long before the pandemic. Really? Nobody was on it. I was on. When it was music. Well, it was right when TikTok switched over. It was 2019. I had to shut up throat and I downloaded it. So the whole year of 2019, I was making videos because nobody knew about it and it was like my little outlet.

T. Because I went to school for marketing, hated it. I was always getting fired, like fired left and right from my attitude. And then I quit a job and I was just working like restaurants. I love restaurant work, but I needed like another outlet and then- Like customer service? Yeah, yeah. That's T.

You love customer service but you're getting fired for attitude and marketing? Bill, I like when you're a server, you're your own boss. I don't want to work today. Give up my chef. I'm sick. I want to do a double. I'm going to make $400. That's a really interesting way of looking at serving.

And also, like, you're tipped on your personality. Like, as long as you're organized and you are, like, funny, you're being paid that way. But when I worked for, like, a nonprofit, I'm, like, doing, like, mule work. Like, awful, awful work. I love all you're working a set while you're serving. You're like, it's really about personality, and it's about attentiveness. Sure. but mostly jokes.

Exactly. I'm testing material. And then that inspired so much of my content. It's just like working with the craziest people. But yeah. So when COVID happened, I already had like 200,000 followers. Okay, too. So it kind of just like skyrocketed me.

And I've been doing content now. I think I'm like year seven. It's kind of gross. Take a break. You know what I'm funny? I didn't download TikTok until I think 2020 is when I downloaded it. Because everybody was on it at that time the pandemic had started and everyone was joining rapidly.

I just remembered recently, though, the reason why I initially had TikTok was because I used to have Musically because my college friends and I used to like to find people from high school who were making musically. We just thought it was fun, so I would go and look. And then I never really used it.

And then I saw, you know how sometimes they'll say, like, oh, people in your contacts are on here or whatever? I saw one of my cousins was on there. So I went and I creeped on her and she was doing bad shit on there. Hold on her. Was she younger or older? She's younger or older?

She's like, she's like, I was such an arc. I was such a fucking arc. But that's because she's like a baby to me. She's just my brother. Yeah. My brother's like nine years younger than me. So I was like, oh, I'm telling your dad. No, I get my, my niece is a freshman right now and some of the stuff that she even wears.

I'm like, oh my God. Like they're just, they grow up so fast. Oh, time really flies. But not us. We age backwards. No, yeah. Frozen in time. Here we come.

We were just talking about how we're both 95. babies. Yeah, I'm 30 next week. How are you feeling? I have never been more excited in my life. Me too. I was never a 20 year old.

Me either. I remember going to the bar when I was 24 years old and giving my ID and he said, no, we'd only card if you look under 30. I said, oh, actually, I'm sort of going to cry in the car right now. You said, that's really fucking mean. That's, I was like, I had this, like, weird, like,

frost-a-tip moment I was growing up my blonde, so there was a lot of identity crisis going on at that moment. You said part of that might have been on me, but still. The lighting, the lighting was, it was harsh, a flashlight or something. No, but I think 30, I'm excited for it. Me too. I think it's going to be, I know who I am now.

Same. And I feel like I would rather just be 30 than be like late 20s. It's embarrassing now. Yeah, I'm 29. Yeah, it's embarrassing. Yeah, I'm like, it feels like I'm like hanging on. I can't wait to be 30. I think it's way better.

Well, then it resets because now, well, now I'm 30. I'm not 39. Right, yeah. Now I'm 30 and I'm like, I'm young in my 30s. that's how I'm looking at it too yeah I'm no I'm super I'm super excited I feel like we're a lot of like in that like mentally old I've been mentally old forever yeah I don't even

identify with some of this the news with some of the new stuff it's really got me for a loop um no and like my audience everyone that watches me is pretty much in their 30s and 40s same I grew and the same thing I was working in restaurants I was like going to the bar with like 40 year old women when I was 21 and I was like oh this is my sis right here I love this girl

That's my sister So I think I just am ready For that kind of next chapter I love that My boyfriend he's 31 Okay T He's been he's been marinating For one

I know my fiancee's 30 He turned 30 last year So he's gonna be 31 this year Okay Yeah so he's I think he was excited Too I'm excited to be 30 I feel like And also too

I think about how like When you were 20, 21 Oh the world You're in the middle of a twister Everything is awful I think 23 was so harsh for me because I was a year out of college, like, literally had no idea what I was doing and the self-doubt and, like, the negativity on yourself.

Right. At this point, I'm like, I know what I'm doing. And you have no money. No. Yeah, no sense of, like, direction, really. Yeah. I know where my brother-in-law, my, my fiance's younger brother, I think he's 24, going to be 25.

But I remember a couple years ago, he, like, called us and he was asking us for, like, tips on how to make something. And we were like, what are you making? And he was like, oh, I'm going to a party and it's a potluck. And I'm like, what 23-year-old is going to a potluck party? I know. If you're not just in a potluck, I'm reading one handle of alcohol when I'm 23. You know what I'm saying?

What a wholesome friend, girl? I know. I was like, what are you all doing? You guys are making dishes and sharing them? That's what you do in your 30s. He's like, make sure I get that casserole of all that. He's like, we're a board party. You know, girls have to do charcuttery board parties.

So that one time my, my, my, my, me and my siblings had a party like that. and I was the youngest, so like kind of like him in that moment. And I brought this, like, Asian noodle dish. Okay. It's like, these like brown noodles. Yeah. It looked, it didn't look great. And I was like that age and I didn't want to lose a plate.

So I put it on a paper plate. Nice. And I bring it to the party. And I was last to get my food when I got there. No one had grabbed my noodles at all. So we're like playing games after. And I was like, I'm going to go. I'm over it.

Because I slaved over these sesame noodles. And I'm taking these noodles with me. me by the way. Leave the plates, paper anyways. I'm like, oh, yeah,

so hopefully his dish was better than that. I hope so too. Do you remember what it was? He, I think he was asking us how to make spam musubis, which is like rice,

seaweed, spam, and then like show you a protein. And he was asking us if he makes it in like a bake. He was like asking for tips on how to make it.

That's what we were telling him. It's a really pretty hard dish to make. Yeah, he was trying to flex on it real quick. Right, right. And he's white. So that's even more confusing. Yeah, well, please.

Yeah, he's like, I need to, I told them I could do it and I said. Yeah. Well, anyways, back to your TikTok career. I would love to know when you felt like it really took off for you. Like, where you were kind of like, oh shit, like people are really finding me and think I'm funny and entertaining. I think that summer 2020, I was like still working at the restaurant and I was like giving me shifts because I was like just trying to like throw everything at it. And then I made my own merch. And I ordered it myself.

I ordered like a, I found a screen printer. I had 800 shirts sent to my house and I sold them in like 14 hours. And then for the next week, I packed every single t-shirt. And I was like, oh, I'm here. I'm hustling. This is going to work. And then I quit the next day at my job because I just sold 800 t-shirts. I was like, I'm floating for a minute.

And my boss was like, oh, like, are you sure that this might be like a flash in the pan? She asked that to me. And I was like, oh, no, I'm going to bet on myself right now. And she's coming to my show next month. You're un Thankfully the Flash is still there Yeah, no, yeah. So I think in that moment I was like, okay, like, yeah, that's the whole thing. I feel like anyone who wants to do this.

There's like room for everybody. I agree. You just got to like want it. I say the same thing. And I'm also like I'm of the same mindset where I feel like if you are truly pure intention and like why you want to do it like you want to entertain. I think like it will work out for you if you stay the course now that we're so old and and we have so much wisdom.

It comes with age. Yeah. You have something for them to look forward to. I feel like we know, too, that, like, when you do it for the wrong reasons, like, when you're doing it purely to, like, get free shit or get invited to things. Yeah. I think sometimes the universe withholds it from you. Yes. Like, it's never going to give it to you because you want it for the wrong reasons.

Yes. And also, with everything that you go through to do this, like, full time, I wouldn't say it's worth, like, an invite to a premiere. It really isn't, in my opinion. No. Like not a singular one. Also, I hate stuff like that. Yeah. Y'all want to do that?

It's not that fun sometimes, you guys. It's really not. No plus one? Good luck. Yeah. Like a friend. Yeah. I know.

My team, I remember, like, last year, my team was like, how do we feel about trying to go to things by ourselves this time, this year? And I'm like, vicious. Because sometimes it could be a really cool opportunity, but if they give me no plus one, I'll probably not go. I know. Because I was like, I know, I need at least one. I always need a little.

Or at least, like, give me the invite letters. Do I know anybody? on? Yeah, yeah. So sometimes my team will ask that too. But like I've only done it a few times. Granted, those few times it did work out pretty well. So maybe they're on to something. I know. Me too. I'm like, I'm not going home with the Uber and I'm like, hey, that was fun. Actually, you've had a great night. Yeah, but you said like, you have to get into it for like the love of, for me, it's a love of entertaining. Right. I just love making people laugh. Have you loved detention forever? Oh my God. Me too. I can write a book.

And I did. Period. Period. Period. Period. Oh, how much I needed attention. It's good. Yeah, I'm unapologetic about it. Like, I like me too. That's what makes me happy. And I think in turn, we've made a lot of people happy, hopefully. Yeah, yeah. Well, clearly it worked out. And clearly it's true for you. Did you want to do, like, acting or anything when you were younger? Yeah, I thought that was the only way to be famous or something. It was like, I didn't even know what a comedian was. I thought we just had to be actors. Me too. And then I wanted to be Ryan Sechrest. Yeah. And then I was, yeah. That's kind of the way. And then I went to, I applied to, couple colleges for like more like media focused stuff to be like a newscaster and it just didn't

work out and I let the dream go but like in high school I was always a class clown like love did you have like a like a mr. in your high school like the oh we had mr. Dartmouth in my high school it's like the male beauty like oh cute yeah we had a mr. crona yeah yeah so I did that I won that the page yeah I did and I thought because I was like the first time I felt like I was like oh but first I'm ever on a stage yeah I'm like got like that kind of reaction for making people laugh. And I was like, oh, I'm going to put this feeling away. So when I started doing TikTok, I remembered like, I can do this.

Right. Like, love this. I love that. Yeah. Yeah, we had a Mr. Corona pageant at my, I went to Corona high school. So like they had one and it was like a full like you had to do like a walk. You had to have like an evening where you had to have a talent. Yeah.

Yeah. And I remember we went one year. Me and my girlfriends went just for fun. It was a blast. It was getting to watch men, uh, dance for attention. I love that. Yeah, that's what we were all doing. Yeah.

It was like me and all the jocks. It was like the one gay boy in the high school and then all the jocks. Mine was the opposite, all gay. Oh, no. Like not one jock apply. It's like what the guys do. It's like because it's real bro. It's real funny.

So it's like homecoming king. It kind of is. That's like what they did. So like my talent was, yeah, you don't remember like a thrift shop McElmore. It was that. I danced that. That was a moment.

But in 2013. Oh yeah. Choregraphed. Full choreograph. I sang and I danced. Does anyone remember the song New Shoes by Paolo Nutini? I'll put some new. Yes, yes.

You sing that? Yeah. Are you a good singer? No. I'm not a bad singer. I kind of hit that middle. Just for fun? Yeah.

Oh, I sing all the time. Just for the love of the game. Wait. For the love of the game. You know what's so funny? The guy who won when I went, I remember he sang. He sang that song that Hercules sings. I can go to listen.

Yeah. I can't hear this and that's what it is. Yeah, he's saying that and I was so moved. I was like, wow. What's he gay? Yes, he went to distance. Yes, of course. Yeah, they're doing the live action.

Did you see that? I did see that. The guy who's playing Hercules is, who is it? I couldn't tell you. Name. I don't know a name. I could pick him out from a chest, like a chest photo because his pecks are like, if I saw tits, I could identify him immediately, immediately.

You know, I, I'm so interested. I can't, I can't sing at all. You can sing. I'm jealous. a little soon? I always say I'm not tone deaf, but I can't sing. Because I feel like for me, I guess in my head, I'm always like, well, I can't sing like Ariana, so clearly I can't sing.

There's got to be a middle. I know, but that's what I think. I think in extremes like that because I'm like, I think when God was making me, he was like, that bitch is funny and that's it, send her down. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She gets nothing else. Do you ever think, do you ever notice that a lot of like really funny people online are also, like, really talented?

Like, Brittany is such a, like a talented singer. But there's a bunch of people. I'm pissed off. I know. I said, oh, everybody got funny and singing except me. Yeah. I'm like Q, though. Okay.

Yeah. But I'm in a, just start saying that proud. Like, you can sing. Because the people who can't sing, they really can't sing. And that suck. Or the people who can't, like, clap or, like, dance a little bit. Like, just find the rhythm. Right, right, right.

That's a crime. You know what? I've said, too, I'm like, I was making this joke to my sister. You know how sometimes TikTokers, they want you to know they can sing. But that's not what they're known for. And this is no, no shade. That's just not what they're known for. And then they'll post like a 15 second clip of them doing a riff or something.

And then they'll be like, I don't know, draft. You know what I'm saying? And then people will be like, oh my God, you can sing. And then after that, they'll start, like, posting shit like they can sing. And I'm like, am I a hater? Probably. But if I found out I could sing, watch me do it too. But like, whatever happened to like being funny is enough.

I think the gateway is a joke. I have to be a Swiss Army knife now. Well, no, it's like, you're so funny, but now you want to pivot to music. Relax. Like, you can't do it all. Like, you're being selfish. Fuck you guys. I'm pissed off.

That's why I think I'm going to lean. I'm leaning towards acting this year. That's my goal this year. Okay, wait. Are you? Let's talk about it. I would love to. So I just, so my agency, they've been like,

I've been like, five percent of a couple scripts. But it's never like a role that makes sense for me. I don't even know if I can speak about this. And I don't care because I'm not going to get it. I got an audition for a Jennifer Lopez Netflix movie. Ooh. but the role they asked me to read for two parts one was like this like kind of goofy office guy

whatever whatever he's like funny i was like i can read this straight damn it but i'll try okay next guy not him being like the seducer of the office in one scene he's like in a pool and he's trying to get the main character which i'm assuming is jennifer lopez to get in the pool and i'm supposed to be naked and i literally call them i was like guys i and they'll always be like it's for experience like you just got to keep trying and i'm like this is a waste of my time like can you imagine me in a pool naked in a movie and I'm seducing Jennifer Lopez. You're naked in a pool? It's just like not so like that's where my acting's at right now.

I'm reading there. If anything, if I were you, I would take that as a comp, the highest of compliments. They think your body's tea. You're like, oh, so I'm nothing but a piece of meat to you guys. You guys are just going to slut me out like that. Yeah. Honestly, if I wish my body was like that. I think it's like I slept me out all day.

I actually think I need to. It sounds like they're trying to, Zacharias. All those roles I'm getting. or like they always have some sort of really chiseled physical description. I'm looking for like, where's quirky gay best friend? Like I'm looking for like I appreciate it. You know what's funny is mine is the opposite. Some of the like character descriptions I've been sent.

Like one of them, they asked me to do voice work for like a cartoon. Wait, that's so cool. Which I think is fun. Well, and that was and they, the description was a, um, a two. two-headed bird that's old and evil. I said, oh, no for sure. That looks like me. The last one I read for, it said, like, her personality description I felt kind of matched

me, like she's neurotic and know it all, a goody two shoes, whatever. But then the like physical description of her, it said late 30s to 40s. Oh, oh. Okay, well, hopefully that's just like a suggestion. Not why you sent it to me. Doesn't matter. I didn't get it. Well, you never know.

Either way, it's okay. But I will say, I'm curious, have you done any live reads or anything? No, I've only done self-tapes. Have you? Okay, yeah, I've done both. I've done self-tapes mostly, and then I did one live read, but...

Was that? It was on Zoom, so, like, you know, it's fine, but I felt very strange, because I felt like at one point, they asked me to read, like, three or four scenes, and then I felt like, at one point, they were like,

can you try doing it, a little more urban and I go okay like like confrontational and they're like no more like sassy and I was like you guys want to call me a slur and you can't that's what you guys want to do don't you no yeah and I and it's funny because after after that read I knew I didn't get it I could just sense it but like also those things were making me uncomfortable yeah and I remember I called Caleb and I asked and I was like is this like common and like reads like where they ask you to kind of lean into stereotypes and he was like oh yeah yeah absolutely I was like really because yeah it's like the name of the game it's just part of it and I was like he's like doesn't make it any less awful but I was like really thrown off by that I don't think I was gonna like not encounter anything like that I just thought it was so glaringly obvious that I was like yeah not even subtle either the way yeah and then I felt like I didn't finish very strong because I was so like thrown off by those comments oh god she asked me at least three times in different different descriptors even It's getting closer and closer each time.

No one's asking me to read again, but more gay. They're having you read for Henry Cavill's parts apparently. Exactly. I want you to be the Witcher? Oh, but the huntsman. I'm just like running in. I'm like, Jesus. That's what I think when I look at you.

Yeah, I'm going to write my own stuff. That's what I'm going to do. You should. Yeah, you should. Right my own roles. Sometimes I think that's the only way to get through it, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. What about acting classes?

Have you taken any? I need to take some and I'm scared. When I moved here, I did a, uh, I did a, uh, improv at UCB. It's like the, that's like the classic New York thing I do. I was going to say it's such a, it's like, oh, God. Write of passage.

It is. For comedians in New York. I loved it. It was really competitive, which I thought was interesting. I did like an intensive two weeks. I was like, let me just get it done with. So I went like four days a week. People flew in from it.

Really? Like Florida and like the Midwest to like do this class. So have you ever done an improv class? No. So like you don't get called on. You have to step up. up to like do like the big we need four people and people like in my class were like chomping at the bit to be in every scene and oh so you just like run up and just join yeah yeah

so you just have to look for your windows yeah until the guy comes up the teacher like he's like guys the same people are coming up a lot the same people and i'm seeing a couple of you looks at me i'm like having hurt for you all day i'm like i need you to be more aggressive and i'm not there i'm there to learn i'm not there to like get cast and something like this isn't my big break right now i think the same I think the same thing about shit like that. I just, so I'm here to learn, develop the skill. And I will say I learned so much in that. And I think I've become a better stage performer because of that.

But it's really intense. And then I tried taking a stand-up class and I quit out for three days because everyone in the class didn't laugh at any of my jokes. But I would laugh at everybody's. And I'm like, oh, this is a class of haters. Oh, so you guys are jealous of me. They were like, and I would like throw a laugh when I knew there was a laugh coming. But like, you'd throw me a bone. No one would ever laugh at myself.

Damn, tough room. Top room. You guys don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, so I was like, I don't need to go here and feel the shittier about myself. So I'm going to leave. Honestly, well, at that point, I feel like you could just jump in the deep end. Like, at that point, you could just start doing sets everywhere. I did.

I'm saying if that's, why would you pay for the class? You could go out in the real world and just experience that if you need to? A hundred percent. How is that? Because Phil, my manager, who's here, he wants me to do more stand-up. But I am a little nervy about it. Oh, I love it. I was also, like, so nervous.

I didn't start until last year. Yeah. And I love it now. I've only done one five. That's it. That's great. That's all I've done. A five is great because I feel like after the five, you're there.

Do you know what I mean? Like my show's an hour 10. And like you just keep, but you just keep going. Yeah. I'm curious, how do you, like, how do you like memorize? Do you just like, is it like the ends of your jokes lead into your new ones or like? It's not as hard as you think because you wrote it. That's, you know what I mean?

So I break my show up into like, they're like five, 15 minute sections and I do stand up and then I leave in a video plays of me doing some crazy thing and I come out as characters and then I leave so I do like all my bits and then I do stand up in between everything but it's really just like chunking it all together and it's just it really is there's nothing compares you've done touring though yes I've done live performance that's the same thing yeah that's what he he's told me that too I'm like don't give him any ideas he's been pressuring me I'm kidding I think the big thing is though is if that's something you want to do like start

saving the ideas because like I'm sure funny things are going to keep happening but you need to fill that like hour yeah because the the live performance I have done have been with my sister we've toured like two idiot girls the podcast live and so it's all improv so what we do at those shows is we like pass out prompts which is what we do for the pod and then they submit them and then backstage we'll pick like 10 of them and then we'll go out on stage and then we'll just go through them and then we improv and like talk to the audience and kind of just make jokes like on the fly yeah But most people are just doing crowdwork now. Like so much crowdwork, which I like dabbling, but it's not my strong suit.

Yeah. Especially when the thing is with live shows, and you already know this, it's like you have to expect people to like, you have to be able to pivot with that. Yeah. Like sometimes people get really drunk at my shows. Oh my God. Same. That happened to us a few times.

But they're not. Was it a bad hackle or was it like a nice heckle? They're like, they're like love heckles, but it's irritating regardless. Yeah. Especially if your shit's timed because you're like, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Let me get to my next section, okay? You know what's funny is on tour the first time? I think the first time we had an issue with people getting too drunk.

It was always like a Friday or Saturday show, obviously because they're like ready for the weekend. They want to get drunk, whatever. My sister and I were performing. And obviously we're talking to the audience too, but we're very like, I'm very quick about that. Like audience participation lasts for a very specific amount of time and then I have to cut you off if you're like, you know, sometimes they get a little too invested in being part of it. Yes. It's fine, which is fine, but you got to know how to, like,

hear them off that path. So while we're talking, there's, like, there's two huge bars in the room, too. So there's, like, people, like, scraping ice and it's, like, kind of loud. But you can still hear us. It's fine. And the people start getting drunk and they start talking while I'm talking.

And then they kept cutting my sister off too while she's talking and we're like, it's just too much going on. So at one point, I was like, I stopped someone in the audience. I was like, I'm so sorry. Can you pause? Who the fuck is talking? And I, like, said it really loud. like we're in a classroom.

We're not. We're in a venue. Everybody's supposed to be having fun. Who the fuck is talking right now? I was like, who the fuck is talking? I said, can you do me a favor? Can you shut the fuck up while we continue the show? Is that cool?

Because they were being rude for like 40 minutes. Did everyone clap? Yeah, and everyone was like, well, and everyone looks and they're like, and now they're being narks. Like everybody in the audience has been an arc, right? And so I'm trying not to like think too much about it. But I will say, did it stop the talking? Yes.

Did it kill the room a little bit? I had to like win them back eventually. Yeah. Like, I was like, don't be afraid. I'm sorry, I went too hard. I'm sorry, I went too hard. And then the next night happened again in a different city, still in all in Florida, mind you.

And the next night happened again, this time, I was like, okay, I'm going to say something, but I'm going to be nicer. And I was like, can you pause real quick? Queen, let's go ahead and stop talking, queen, so everybody can participate. Does that sound good? Okay, thank you.

Thank you. Yeah, learn it. And then after that, it was better. but the first night, man, I killed that room fast. Nobody wanted to laugh anymore because her pretty was too sick. She's going to hit me. I was like, take his shoe off. That's on me.

I take that. That's on me. But it's annoying. It really is. I've never had anyone negative, but I've had like drunk people just get like loud and like want to be a little too involved. What did you have to do? I honestly just like tune in out.

Like the staff usually knows to like tap people or whatever at the venues. But Detroit was the craziest show I ever had. Really? Everyone was just like really like spirited. It felt like people were on drugs. Spirited in like a kind of scary way, but still nice. Like, woo. It's like, oh, okay.

Little wizardry. Like it wasn't just drunk because people were like floating a little bit. Yeah, it was like just so crazy energy, but it was such a memorable show. But I'm so paranoid one day that someone's going to like be like, he sucks. Oh, like a bad hack. Because I'll just leave. I'm out. That's my time.

I'll take it somewhere I don't know that I'll win you over I know I'd love to know how it was when you first started doing stand-up like how is that experience as far as like kind of just cold plunging cold plunging completely I did I did I did I open for my friend for a 10-minute show and then I had like a show the next week for like 150 people at city winery it just did it and now it's like growing I think it's easier for someone like me and for you when our audience already like loves us yeah yeah I think it's way harder and more respectful like respectable to do it like uh when people are like just testing new material and you have no like totally it's like yeah like no uh loyalty yeah or allegiance really people are coming because they already know me they're like me so it's not really hard to win them over in that yeah that's too so it makes it more comfortable for me and like the shows are great because everyone i don't know like they listen to our podcast they like they're all kind of like

friends already yeah yeah um but yeah that's tea because i i remember when i did the one five i've done I opened for Caleb at the Largo with Chris Fleming. So like I did five. Chris Fleming did I think 1520 and then Caleb obviously did like a full hour or something. But I was so nervous. I've never been more nervous in my life. I don't ever get nervous for work shit. I never get nervous to host or do anything.

But for that I like was losing sleep over. I was so nervous. And I was telling Caleb it's literally because I, I'm writing all the shit myself. And if they don't laugh, I'm going to be pissed. I'm being fucking mad. And I said, it's all right. I brought a gun. And so if no one left, I got a backup plan.

The Glock's out. Is it funny now? You want to start laughing? Go ahead. Let me know when you're ready to start. Light it up everything. And I remember he asked me if I wanted to promote it with me on the flyer and stuff. And I was like, honestly, no, because I want to try it, like, for real.

Because I knew that if I promoted it, my own fans would go, which I would love. But they'll laugh at me regardless just because they love me and they care about me, which I appreciate it. And I genuinely think they're being honest about laughing, but I wanted it to be someone else's audience so I could kind of see if I'm good. Or not. It did pretty well, yeah. I think no complaints as far as I know.

Well, girl, I'm going to ask you some, about some random questions, some random tidbits about you. Okay. So these are from my lovely producer Amanda. So says here five years ago, you posted a YouTube video called my dream veneers where you explained that your dream for 2020 was to quote, secure the bag so that you can buy a great set of veneers. How's that dream going for you? That's a deep dive. That was me trying to do it as Emma Chamberlain edits. Like, you know that era of YouTube? Actually, I watched it the other day and I was like, this was pretty funny. I was like, that I think I privated that video. My, no, I kept the pub, I cut the public.

Go watch that now. It's really funny. No, wait, the veneer culture has shifted. It has. It wasn't like in 20, they shifted away from it. Yeah. Yeah, because I am with you on that.

Because we were the same age. Yeah. So growing up, veneers were the thing. And now people have these like dog teeth, like Barbie teeth. I'm not. Oh, girl, yeah. And not everybody. Like, some people have really great veneers, but the veneers I'm seeing on like TikTok are scary.

Yeah, they're, it's like a real flipper. Like a. toddlers and tiaras. Such. That's exactly what it is. I also heard about veneer breath or something. Have you ever...

What hell's that? I think it's the bacteria and the decay. Inside the veneer? I think in the ceiling. Girl. No. No. Bad breath?

No. I draw the line. I can't do it. Especially not in this job. That's what we do is talk for a living. And I kind of think my teeth are quirky. Like they're my, like I look at my mouth and oh, those are my teeth. Me too.

So it's like, yeah. I'll get them. I've gotten them white. a bunch of times. I'll keep your mouth. There's no enamel left. These things are basically... I literally can't get mine whiten

because my enamel is naturally low. Damn. So, like, my teeth are so sensitive. I can't even bite cold things. Your teeth are white, though. Did you drink coffee? Yeah. Really?

Yeah. You got good toothpaste. Plug that crest. I honestly don't even know what toothpaste I use, to be honest. I don't know. I think it's also genetic, too. A lot of it's genetic. But I've thought about veneers, too.

because like my bottom teeth are fucked up and that's because of, well, if you ask my dentist, it's because I didn't wear my retainers. But if you ask me, it's because I got my wisdom teeth and they like, they fucked my teeth up because my teeth were fucked up when I was a kid. I had like an underbite and my teeth were all on top of each other

when I was a child. So I had a real jacked up grill for a long time. Did that's in like in any way, shape, or form affect my confidence? No, of course not. Oh, get out of here. Of course not. I was smiling with my teeth all the time.

How long do you have braces for? I had, Well, first I had like three or four spacers just to realign my jaw. Then I had permanent retainers for like a year. Then I had braces for two and a half years. Then I was supposed to wear retainers after. So believe or not, this is after years of work. They look great.

They look great. And they like match your face. It's your teeth. Imagine if you put it like. I think that too about your teeth. You got great teeth too. Thank you. I've put veneers on.

I'd be like, scary. I think so too. I remember when I got my braces off, though, I cried because I thought my teeth were so small, which they are, but they're proportionate to my face. Once I saw what they have to do to give you veneers, like when they have to shave your teeth down to those little like shark teeth. Yeah. I'm out.

It's just like spooky. I'm not into it. I don't like that permanent alteration with teeth. Also like, oh, I remember Trixie Mattel once was talking about how when she was saying veneers, I asked for Wisconsin white, which is L.A. yellow because some of that teeth are so. white, they're looking blue. Yeah, they go blue so quick. Like LED headlights on like a Ford.

Yeah. Venerees are not in my journey as of right now. Me too. If the plans change, they change. I'll call you up. I'll tell you. I think too that I think big teeth in my mouth would be horrifying. Yeah, you should try that though in like a face swap feature like AI.

But he was like, what an oddly specific place to do a Housewives. Shit, I don't remember where it was at. I don't know it was on the East Coast. Me not knowing anything. My real housewives in every state. Would you ever do it? Have you ever been asked? To do housewives anything?

To do like a reality TV moment? Oh, reality TV, yeah. I get asked to do reality TV all the time. I've been offered like a reality TV show many times. But I think it's because they think that my family looks like the housewives. It doesn't. It's my everyday life is very boring. I think it would be interesting.

I just say I'm really high strong and then I'm like that's my life though I'm like my emotions are high or low yeah which is kind of crazy for him but like for me I'm like I don't like the middle it's the best and the worst of me at all time when I first blew up on TikTok like I had hit my first million I had just gotten signed I got asked to um apply for the circle because the first season of the circle had done so well so I was like yeah sure like I figured why not like I'm already doing this TikTok shit so I did a bunch of rounds of interviews and stuff, I was going to catfish as my man.

So I was going to use his pictures and videos and stuff and pretend to be him. And I was like, I know a lot about sports. I could talk a bitch down. I could easily hit on a girl. I could easily do that shit. And so I applied, I got to the very last round where they almost cast me.

But then they did the psych eval and then I didn't get it. So you were going to get it, but you failed the psyche veil. Wait, tell everything. What do they ask on those things? On the psyche valve? Yeah. They ask you things like, do you have trouble being alone for long periods of time? It depends on like the show you're going on.

Okay. So I think like they'll ask you like, do you, you know, have any sort of things about self-harming or anything like? They ask you like very serious stuff. And then they also ask you stuff about like, how do you feel about being perceived on television by people? And how do you feel? But I think why they didn't pick me was because they said the one of the last questions they asked me was what's your greatest fear about being on a reality? television show. And I said, being perceived as someone that I'm not, like, or painted to be someone that I'm not, didn't pick me. Because in the earlier rounds, because I applied and I said

I was going to pretend to be my fiancee, whatever, they obviously were super into that. They thought that was really funny. And then my TikTok presence, they were like, oh my God, she's like me and the men. It's like, perfect. And then I remember one of the interviews they were asking me if I would consider myself a guy's girl. Like, they're like, are all your friends dudes? Because girls are drama. That's a verbatim question they asked me. And I'm 26 or 27. So I feel way too old for that kind of conversation. Yeah. Yeah. But second of all, I was like, no. Like when they said that, I was like, no, almost all my friends are women. If there are men in my life, they're either related to me, my man or gay. So they were going to pay him a certain way. They were going to make me a

pick me. Yeah. And then I remember saying to like my agent, because I just signed her at the time, I was like telling her that's going to shoot my brand in the face. If they like I, the whole point of my presence is because I'm not a picnic. But then on the circle, I'm going to be like, girls are drama. Yeah. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? Yeah, I didn't get it for the best.

And also they said I would have to live in a hotel by myself in London for three months. And I was like, oh, can't do that. No, no. Me being away from my own bed for that long, I was like, hmm, maybe I don't want reality. They feel for three months? Yeah, that one, yeah. I need to figure out tighter turnaround. That's what you just.

That could not be good for production. But like Great British Baking show If they asked me Wait they they literally have those like Like mini ones with like the celebrity Yeah right I don't do that I want to be on the real one Oh yeah oh it's you gotta get a dual session

This is an iconic venue. And nobody here appreciates it.

You have. I know. I've been universal a few times, but I've never, like in L.A. and I've been to the one in Florida. I've never done the L.A. one. I heard that one's really good. I did like the Paramount one, I think. Yeah. No, the one in Florida, in my opinion is more fun for adults. But there's still cool stuff in the one in L.A. But like in Florida, like, I remember a couple years ago, I rode the Haggred's ride for first time.

Sick. Girl, I had so much fun. I was laughing so hard, I had tears going down my face. And the girl was taking me out. She goes, are you okay? And then I go, I just, like, had so much fun. When it drops down for the first time ever? Oh my God, sensational.

We were sitting, when we went, I went to when Playlist Live was still a thing. Wow. And so they rented it out for creators and their families for one night. Cool. And so, like, one of my agents, she was like, we have to go on Haggards right. It's like so fun. And we're like, okay, so there's no line or anything. So we go all the way in and we're getting in the little cars.

And it's like, you know, it's like that in the side car, right? It's like a bike and a side car. And so I'm sitting in the side car and my fiance was on the bike. And he goes, what kind of ride is this? And I go, I don't know. I think it's, I think Alex said it's kind of like a roller coaster. And he goes, this thing's a roller coaster. Because you know what?

Like all it like all right. Like arches your back a little. Yeah. Yeah. You're touching. You know what I mean? Yeah. You feel real good on that, right?

Right. And he goes, this thing's a roller coaster. I go, that's what she said. I don't know. I'm experiencing it for the first time with you. And he was like, I literally don't know. And then as soon as it rips around that first corner,

I didn't stop screaming the entire time. No, I know. I was experiencing true joy. I'm like up. Yeah. You're really like in it. I remember after we went on the Veloccoaster, which was the scariest ride I've ever been on.

Yeah, that's violent. After we went on that one, we're like are these like street legal roller coasters i feel like they're like breaking laws in some regard they're insane yeah they are they are insane that's a fun run do you ever i don't go on the rides when there's like a little like local carnival like those rides scare me no yeah i won't do that like a zipper moment you're not going to catch me on that no no no no no this year i'm trying to go to the wisconsin state fair okay t what's going on there first of all wisconsin beautiful state is it yeah I sent a show in Minnesota.

That's Wisconsin. Wisconsin. Now I'm freaking out. Is Minnesota in Wisconsin? Minnesota people, where are you at, maybe? Damn it. Wisconsin is different. No, it's not Wisconsin.

It's the one next to St. Paul. It's the Twin Cities. It's St. Paul and the other one. Minneapolis, got there. Everybody, Minneapolis is the most fabulous city of our winter. Their airport is gorgeous. Really? And it's real wuzzy and can't be out there?

It's crazy that you say that because I'm flying to Minnesota tomorrow. For the first time? Yeah. Oh, my God. You're going to love it. Their airport has projections by like, you really like your luggage comes out. like nature projections there's like water bubbling and like birds calling and I'm like this is like not necessary but so cute oh wow it's themed but um they have

the second largest state fair in the country tea I'll come back and I will be back labor to air you check I'm looking at flights now yeah that's your bucket list type deal yeah I love stuff like that like kitschy stupid stuff like really go do that for fun for the experience I think I need to go do that yeah yeah because you were telling me that you hate festivals I hate music festivals. But you love a fair. Yeah. Yes.

What about like a rent fair? Oh, I love a rent fair. Have you been to one? Yeah. I've never been to one. My goal is to go to one this year. Is there one in L.A.? Yeah, there's a ton in California.

And you have a dress up. Yes. A little bit. Girl, I'm going to go full. I have elf ears and everything. I'm going to wear them all. So I just did Elfirs one year with like a normal alpha and I was like not being a cute elf. Not being a low key elf.

People are like, like, or the one I have, it's like summertime and they'll be in full chain me. I'm like, you stink. It's fucking. raunchy. Well, they're living in the times. Oh, you're right. Right. I love Renfair. I want to go so badly. They're fun. Right. I like stuff like that. I know. It's so silly. When I was in middle school, we did like a whole like renaissance like unit.

But at the end of the like semester or whatever, we had a big like rent fair. And each like class was a different kingdom. And we had like competitions and all competed against each other. God bless those teachers. Right. They were really doing it. They had no, no, like, reason to ever have to do that. But they, like, it was, like, a full thing. And look you. Like, look you like still talking about.

That's like, hey. 205 years later. Shout out teachers. Yeah. Y'all are really doing it. I remember because I was so excited because you got to, well, first of all, they had you, like, vote on different cast systems. So, like, I wanted to be a lady, but I didn't want to be the queen or anything because

I didn't want any jobs. I just wanted to dress pretty. Because there were people who were peasants and they had to come to school just like that. I'm not doing that. So I got to be a lady. No way. And that's why I think the rent fare is calling me.

I think I got to go back. Yeah. Put it on the calendar. Look forward to it. Get the outfit now. Corset. I'm going to rent a whole costuming thing. Rent the runway.

A newly. It's a rent fare dress. Okay. We'll do one more. We'll do one more fun tidbit. Okay. And here it says one of your first acting gigs was in college and you had to make a commercial PSA for an ad agency about teen safety and the workplace.

What does that look like? Oh my God. I went to school for advertising. I wanted to do that. So the guy who is our professor worked for a real ad agency and they were doing like a local PSA about teen safety. So I had to play a teenager. I was like, I'm so youthful.

So I was like 21 and this commercialist's tall. And they need you to be in the pool and they need to be naked and J-Lo might pop in. Whole nudity. I said, I'll do a full front. They said it's teen safety, so relax. So we can't have that. Yeah, I was like, okay, so no creative control here. No, it was so, it was so funny.

It was like, the whole thing was like, if you're working in unsafe condition, you can text this hotline. They'll like, come and like, I don't know, help you out a little bit. Tea. So I was like, you don't have to take those jobs. If you're nervous, just call this number. And it was like, well, call it safe jobs, R.I. We're like adding it into like an iPhone.

It's like a whole bit. It was funny. It was cute. It was my first acting gig. It's not an IMDB though. I should get that credit or something. Damn. No sag card for that, huh? Yeah. I really just did it to like make the professor like me so that he'd give me an internship, which did work.

T. Yeah. Friends in high places. I brought a sweatshirt that they didn't like so they made me wear an aeropostle like black sweatshirt with like fur in it or something. And I was like, why this? The picture's there. The video is there. Yeah.

It's okay. I still got the gig. Yeah. Hey, I got booked. Yeah. When I was like in 10, I think when I was like 10 or 11, um, my, I think when I was like 10 or 11, my mom worked for like this agency that ran the local youth bus like or the local buses like in the city that I was living in at the time and they needed young kids because they were trying to encourage kids to like use public transportation during the summer. And so they needed young children like to like photograph like they were going to the beach or something like that.

Gotcha. For like advertising in the buses and like in the brochures. And so my mom, they asked my mom, they're like, oh, you have two young daughters. I like bring them and maybe they will get cast in it. And I remember we both got cast, but then my sister, she did something bad. So then she got grounded. And so then my mom just took me by myself to the photo shoot. So like I was in there by myself.

But I remember I was the only brown kid and I was really dark at the time too because it was summer. And it was me and like three white kids and one Asian kid. So it's like a real college brochure like mixed races. And so I remember they kept putting me. if there was like two whites they'd have to put me in there too and if there was one white one pale then me and there too like they were trying to balance yeah all the time yeah they had me in every we need drill we need drew for this one it looks too white it looks too white let's bring another one and so like I remember yeah they took so many pictures of me the whole day I was feeling fierce I was like

oh my god taking pics of me when I'm 10 right I'm like oh I'm loving my mom got me new outfit I was loving it do you still have the pictures yeah I do I need to find them I still have the brochure and everything. I came on a poster and all that shit. I saved all of it. That's like your first big gig. Yeah. I was like, look at me. And then I remembered when I saw the prints after, like, because I am in some of the pictures, but some of the other ones, they photoshopped my hair, my skin, and like to make me look like the other girls because I was in too many pictures. So they literally put blonde hair and white skin on my body, like when I'm turned to the side. On your bone structure? So it's your face. Yeah. So it is my face, but they just change the eye color and everything. And it's not.

not done very well because it wasn't like Photoshop wasn't what it is now when I was 10. But I remember being like, that's literally me. Like my hair, my hair was so long at the time too. It was like down past my butt. They got you like a bob. Yeah. They just made it bleach blonde. I look like the Valerian's.

Yeah. He's the blue eyes. Like that a color contact. I look like that that meme of Miley Cyrus when she's staring. Yeah, that's what I looked like. Yeah. That's not ethical and that's weird. Yeah.

It was so. And I remember being like, why did you have me going to page of that. I can be a body double. I know. They've literally had me standing in. I was a stunt double. Oh, it was awful.

And now look at us thriving. Yeah, we've come a long way from public service announcements. From teen safety in the workplace. Okay. To just kind of like wrap us up a little bit. I know you talked a lot about Tori. You talked about how you started. You talked about your podcast.

What would you say is like your best piece of advice for people who maybe want to entertain for a living and maybe feel lost like you said you did at one point. I think just go for it and trust your gut and be prepared to work really hard. And you have to believe in yourself before anybody else does because it takes a long time for people to catch up sometimes. But if it's meant for you, it'll be for you. There's just room for everybody. I agree.

I couldn't agree more. And what you said to earlier when you're like, I'm just going to write it myself. I feel like a lot of times that's what you have to do. Yeah. I talked about being grateful for the internet for that reason because I'm like, some of the of us would never get seen if we didn't have TikTok or anything like that. It was just like a one way to become like a public figure. Yeah, what you were saying earlier when you were like, I feel like it was just being an actor was the only way to get Fiasia.

Because we had no way of knowing. Say actor because it's like now at least people can say influencer, I guess too. But yeah, no, I think just like write your own destiny.
