Starting point is 00:01:15 Anyway, on to my guests for today, the one and only, Johnny Sivoli. Hello. Huge fan. I'm a huge fan. We were talking to each other like we knew each other. Yeah, because we do. I was like, girl, how you've been? And we've never met.
Starting point is 00:01:31 It feels so real. It does. It does, yeah. Parascial. It's so real, babe. It's so real. The connection is real. And you're a star.
Starting point is 00:01:40 Oh, wow. Yeah, you are. You're a star star, star. I'm a online jester, but you're a star. No, you're a star. I mean, I was just telling you, obviously, we were talking about you yesterday in a room full of people. And they were all like, yes, we love her. So you're a star.
Starting point is 00:01:55 And all of them were me. You look and it's just me in the room. I'm like, oh my God. Thanks. I'm the one who asked you the question. Who's your favorite creator? Answer correctly. Otherwise, you hate women.
Starting point is 00:02:08 How you've been? Miss TV star. I'm, you know, enjoying my vacation time. Hopefully it picks back up. I'm like one of those people that I love to rest, but I love to be busy. Sam. So it's like a really weird. Like when I'm on set, I'm like, I just want to go on vacation.
Starting point is 00:02:25 And then I'm on vacation. I'm like, I just want to be on set. And I'm like, maybe I'm just an unhappy person. What's your son? Virgo. Me too. Really? Yes, I swear.
Starting point is 00:02:36 That makes so much sense to me. I've slandered Virgo men, however, straight men. Well, yeah. There's always an asterisk next to that. I've heard Virgo men are the worst. Truly, they are. I can't relate. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:02:51 Crawled right out, babe. That's so funny. Anytime I go on a date with a guy and I'm like, oh, I'm a Virgo, he's like, I'm like, you don't want to be judged, huh? Yeah. You know, I won't forget anything. Don't you? We're receipt keepers.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Oh. We truly are. Down. We never forget anything. If I fight with my boyfriend and he like brings something up from like a past fight, I'm like, do we really want to go? Do you want to pull it up? Because I have a fucking drawer.
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah. I'm like, no, yeah, let's talk about January. No, for sure. Yeah. I have a couple complaints too. If you'd like to get into it, we can. Any therapist would be like, don't do that. I know.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I'm sorry, but he started it. My therapist reads me. Yeah. She really does. She'd be reading me. I love that we're Virgo's. Beyonce's a Virgo. I know.
Starting point is 00:03:37 The only Virgo. I always try and think like what, what is Beyonce like when she's in an argument? Like I really love to know. You know what I mean? Like I feel like she would be like receipts down. Like this woman watches every performance that she does and meticulously picks out the things that she wants to change. Yeah. I'm like, there's no way that she's not running that argument like easily.
Starting point is 00:03:59 She's like, no, yeah, no. I'll let you finish. Like a real Virgo thing. I was just letting you talk. Oh, I love that. I'm like, mm-hmm. Yeah, no, for sure. Anyways.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I know. My boyfriend sometimes sometimes he's like, when I'm talking to you, like, if we're having a disagreement, he's like, I can literally tell that you're like waiting for me to finish so I could say something
Starting point is 00:04:18 and I'm like, listen. Yeah. Because I knew you were going to say that. And I was ready for the response that I'm going to give you because I've actually already had this argument in my head. And it's so funny
Starting point is 00:04:29 that you're doing exactly what I thought you were doing. I think that's so great that you brought that up I really do. I have several points. I have some notes if you'd like to go over them. I've got some notes about your notes.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Yeah. Love us. That's love that. Are you know it all? I, I am. No, I would, I am,
Starting point is 00:04:46 but I always say I don't, I only know one thing is that I don't know enough. But it depends on who I'm talking to. Sometimes I'm like, oh, honey, we gotta help you, you know. Yeah, I was talking to my sister. We have a podcast too.
Starting point is 00:04:59 And someone said, like, what's something that's changed? a lot since like from when you were younger to now like behavioral wise and I was like I think like just general education like as far as like being an ally you know what I mean and she goes I think it's you being a know at all it's not a lot better
Starting point is 00:05:14 I was like it's definitely hard I mean for me as a gay person watching people my whole life because I was so scared to interact yeah I know a lot about human interaction and like lying and like all the things that I've watched people
Starting point is 00:05:32 do from the shadows. Yeah. So now I'm like, no. Like sometimes a friend will be like, can you believe this guy did this to me? And I'm like, you just did that to someone last week. And they're like, yeah, but it's, I'm like, but it's you. So like, it's fine. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:05:46 I don't know. Literally me. I'm like, don't bring that over here if you're not, you know, your side of the road ain't clean. Exactly. That's me. That's my whole TikTok present. If we're being real. Which is why I love it.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Yeah. That's I'm always like, do you really want to talk about looks? Are you sure? Are you sure? It's so funny because when people are like, LOL, I'm like, no, but literally, I'm on my couch, like, actually laughing. Like, sometimes I, like, LOL to people's text,
Starting point is 00:06:13 and I'm like, not laughing at all. But, like, just seeing your face sometimes, like, when you're like, hey. I'd be scaring people. They're like, every time I get scared, I think I'm on the wrong side of TikTok. Oh my God, totally. Because I never see content like that.
Starting point is 00:06:28 What is this video? And then there you are. And I'm like, oh, I'm saying. One of my creator friends told me that they found me because they kept getting videos of mine, but they didn't realize they were mine because my name is like gender neutral. So they were like, I thought it was a man. And I was like, what is this straight guy on my pro? Like this bigot on my for you page. And then I finally like watched it past like 10 seconds.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And then I saw you and I was like, oh, okay, that makes more sense. That's also so funny. 10 seconds, like 10 seconds is not a long time. No, it doesn't. The girls are scrolling. And as soon as you see, as soon as you see the, like, joke, you know what I mean? Immediately. The joke?
Starting point is 00:07:09 Yeah, the joke. I love to joke, too. I was, I forget why I brought this up the other day, but I was talking about an old video I posted like last year. And I was defending my friend Tess Holiday. Oh, I love Tess. And so I was defending her and sent that guy right back to hell where he came from, right? And he spun out, lost his mind. But his whole thing about her was like, I was just making observations.
Starting point is 00:07:34 I wasn't even being rude. That's not true. You're medically diagnosing someone you don't even know. So that's called being rude. But I said if that's the case, like I was making observations too. Like I said you had small calves, small feet. I also made an observation. Small calves are like a pandemic in the straight male society.
Starting point is 00:07:56 They can't stand it. I'm like, ooh, baby. I go to the gym and I'm like, uh-oh. It's a ping pong paddle. It's a truly in Achilles for them. They are never ready for that joke. Like the calves and it's also like if you tell them like if they were like a big gym bro guy and you tell them are you like more of a physique dude, it's a long board shorts guy. That means they got weak legs.
Starting point is 00:08:17 That's a tip for all you girlies out there. If they wear long board shorts, they're insecure about the thighs. But my favorite is that they're like, oh, you know, one, they like don't want to work out legs because that's gay. Yeah, exactly. Everything goes back to being gay. Yeah, exactly. And then, or they want their dick to look bigger so they don't want to grow their legs. T.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Oh, my God, I never thought about that. They're like, no, big legs makes your dick look smaller. I'm like, oh, oh, that's a read. You read yourself then. Self, yeah, yeah. The library's open. Oh, my God, I never thought about that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Yeah. I'll have to use that. I'm like, honey, big legs all, you got to be able to. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's why I'm... And girls like that. Yeah. Yeah, they like that.
Starting point is 00:09:03 That's who they're trying to... You can move me, move a fridge, you know, like... Anything in between. Right, exactly. I agree. I think that it's attractive no matter what. But that's why with them, yeah, they always focus on the upper half. But they also feel so inclined to comment on other people's bodies.
Starting point is 00:09:20 But they don't like when I comment on theirs. That's strange. Yeah. Well, because they've never had to deal with that. Yeah, exactly. And like, it's different when, like, one of their boys. say it because you're like, I love him.
Starting point is 00:09:33 If being a gay was okay, I would be. But when a woman does, you're like, how fucking dare you woman? Yeah, yeah. Excuse me? That's why I'm like me, a mere woman. How could I ever comment? How could I ever see exactly who you are?
Starting point is 00:09:47 Yeah. That's why I said, I got under that skin. That's why I, when I made that video about that guy, he had like, he tried to like mobilize like the Jim Broke community. They're my biggest fans. They really are. At this point, they're fans, but like, they hate me,
Starting point is 00:10:02 especially Australian ones. Really? Oh, babe. I've kicked that hornets nest so hard. I don't know what... That feels racist as well. It is, truly. You don't know?
Starting point is 00:10:12 It truly is. I said, I made it a video once about this terrible Australian dude. He just so happened to be Australian. I've made many about them. I don't know what the hell's going on over there. But I said, what the fuck is in the water in Australia? Like, why are so many of them so misogynistic?
Starting point is 00:10:26 I don't understand. And some guy told me. me I was being racist. I said, babe. Towards men or? No, towards Australians. Oh my God. I said, babe, babe, babe. Yeah. You got to learn the difference between nationality and... You also have to, like, find words that mean things for what you're talking about. You know what I mean? Like, they're like, racist.
Starting point is 00:10:44 I get literally. They're like short-circuiting. Yeah, my sister really goes, you can't just say things. Yeah. Just because you say it doesn't mean it's true. But that's the thing, men can say things. And they do. And they do. And they get away with And that's why you're so important. Because it's so true. Like they're like, wait, someone's disagreeing with me? It's like, yeah, that's literally our entire existence.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Like, I'm in pain. Are you sure? Yeah, literally. You know, man up. Like, honey, man up. Yeah, man up. I don't want a man up. Yeah, well, even if I did, I don't think I'd ask you.
Starting point is 00:11:18 That's what I always say. I don't think you're the person to seek counsel from. Oh, my God. That's the thing that men are empowered in this world to be psychologists, to be doctors, you know, I'm just logic. I'm like, logic. That's what I said, men are some of the most emotional creatures in the world. They really are.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Just look at my, any dude who hates me on TikTok, go ahead and scroll through it and you tell me who's more emotional. Me or them. But also secret fans, I think. They are. I wonder if there's any guy out there that's like, has watched your videos and he's like, you know what? She's right. And I'm
Starting point is 00:11:54 changing. You know what's funny? I posted a semi-serie video the other day because I was talking about like there's always like every like three to six months they check back in with me and they're like have you guys thought about the fact that she's probably just a mean person yeah I am a mean person that's my favorite thing you're like honey I'm not trying to hide that I literally have said at least I'm honest you're out here talking about like being nice to be nice to you for sure that's true yes you're right I've never once said I was nice I say that all the time but I was like they every three to six months they check in with me start the discourse again groundhogs day every time. And so then when I have to go over it again, I literally made a video and I'm like, I always think to myself, why don't you ever think about why do people like me so much? Why have I united so many different people? Because it's not just women that follow me. Nope. So it's not, none of my followers look the same. None of them come from the same backwards. Like, they're all very different. The common thread we all share is a violently negative experience with a man. And that's on you. And I find that ironic that you can't think to yourself,
Starting point is 00:12:57 why would people want to support this? Why do people find community with her? Right. And I was like, you know, and it's, I compare it to like when you're in a situation and you're being harassed. And I'm sure this has happened to you too by straight men. Being sexually harassed, just harassed in general, assaulted, whatever. Men are always around and they watch.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I'm like, you stand there and you watch. Oh, yeah. And that's what you do on this app. I was like, you act holier than that. But what you're doing is standing and watching that makes you a coward. Right. And I was like, so I wrote, I did that whole video. it did really well
Starting point is 00:13:27 and then some dude wrote on there he's like this really changed my perspective on you right and he's like I just don't agree with how you choose to do it I wouldn't do it that way and so I always go then don't like no one's forcing you bet
Starting point is 00:13:41 yeah it's like I'm not trying to tell you what to do you're trying to tell me what to do well my favorite is also like people that like to backtrack after the fact like people that like get on and they're like they like say stuff and then people are like you're an idiot and they're like,
Starting point is 00:13:58 why is everybody so mean? I'm like, you opened your mouth, you opened your big mouth. Yeah. You're big grown mouth. Yeah, literally.
Starting point is 00:14:08 And you think that no one's going to have anything on the internet of all places. And on TikTok of all places. Baby. The most like, like truly the most visceral app there is like you do one embarrassing thing. They're going to eat you up.
Starting point is 00:14:21 So like you do a terrible thing. You think they're not going to eat you up for them? Yeah. I had it. I like did. I had a video that I posted with me like dancing in front of like protesters. Oh yeah. Or yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Like, you know, just taking back my power with my ice coffee in hand. And a gay kid wrote on the thing and he was like, you thought you ate that, but you didn't. And I was like, I'm going to let her, you know, just live her life. Get it out, babe. It's fine. But then he commented again and I was like, oh, you want my attention? Yeah. And today I don't have anything to do so you will get my attention.
Starting point is 00:14:53 And I was just like, honey, don't actually don't. bully people if you have videos of you dancing like this and then it's like you know him not on beat but and and people are like well so you're going to bully him back i'm like absolutely yeah absolutely um i don't know where you will guys think that because someone either has a following yeah or that i'm going to be the bigger person like no and ain't nobody paying me to be the bigger person so i'm also going to make a fool out of this person so that y'all know it could be you next exactly um because I've spent way too much of my life allowing people to say things to me and being like, I'm going to just walk away.
Starting point is 00:15:32 No, sometimes you got to, mm. Yeah, exactly. And they only have a problem when you swing back. That's the problem. That's why I'm like, you have more of a problem with the reaction than the action itself. Yeah. That's on you. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I had a dude like this one dude's been jerking off to me for a month. It's like he, oh my God, I can't stand him. But like he always makes videos about me. They make no sense. Whatever. But someone wrote in the comment section of his video. they were like, the problem with Drew is that she's empowering these women to stand up for themselves in these situations and she's putting them at risk in the sense of violence. Like she's putting them in danger.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Wow. And I said, you don't hear what that says. That means you agree with me then that there is women are subjected to this violence and you just want them to be okay with it. Otherwise something bad could happen to them. That's on you. I was like the fact that you like It's like you go so far past the point You come right back to it
Starting point is 00:16:31 You know what I'm saying? You sprinted so far past you did a circle man Yeah I mean we arrived at the same destination I think you just have a different take on it But I was like I can't believe like that you wrote this out That doesn't make you sick to your stomach thinking to us Well yeah because like I mean I'm gonna kill her if she says something to me Yeah and that goes back to your point of saying like men watch
Starting point is 00:16:52 men see and men experience and they do nothing about it. Yeah, and the same thing happens to the gay community as well. You stand there and you watch, you watch it happen and you do nothing for them. You don't stand up for them. You don't say anything. You don't want to get involved. But for some reason when you like stand up for yourself, you want to get involved. Why do you, and I always say like why do you feel so entitled to like a reaction from me that makes you feel good?
Starting point is 00:17:18 Right. Like makes you feel comfortable. So I get hate from women too sometimes Which is such a bummer I'm like oh babe Come back to the light No I'm always like poor one out she's gone I went out for the homie
Starting point is 00:17:30 You know what I mean RIP to a real one you know It's like we lost another one boys That's what I always think It's such a bummer But I can't I can't save everyone That's what I always think I'm like girl you're on your own then like
Starting point is 00:17:43 Sometimes it's the Titanic There's only enough life jackets I got to prioritize Baby learn how to swim I don't know what to tell you. And I tell them to him, like, life is way too short to waste it, trying to prove that you deserve respect to a full-grown man. Life is way too short, babe. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:01 They're fully developed humans, just like me. They've chosen to live this life. Yeah. And you're going to support them in that? As for me and my man, we serve the Lord. I was like, that is not my brother in Christ. You know what I mean? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:15 That is a Jessabelle. Yeah. That happens everywhere, though. Like there's gay men that are like, yeah, but at least he did this. I'm like, honey, you got to love yourself a little more. Yeah, stand up. I love you more than you love yourself. Yeah, stand up.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Stand up. Stand up. We talked about that with one of my other guests and like some dudes like tried to conflate it into something it wasn't. But we were basically saying like doing bare minimum shit like as like straight men, they think they, if they do bare minimum things, like if they want to express themselves and what they deem is a feminine way, all of a sudden they're like the most progressive ally in the world.
Starting point is 00:18:55 And it's nothing but performative to garner a reaction from women. And it's gross. I'm like, it's manipulative because you don't actually feel that way. You just are trying to manipulate so you can grow an audience. That's gross. So I actually saw a TikTok that I didn't do wet or like stitch it because I was like, you know what, just stop. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:16 But it was this guy that was like, hey, babe. want you to sit down I got the dishes actually go back up to the room I'll bring you some ice cream and the comments were like oh my god how soon can you be over and I'm like ew
Starting point is 00:19:30 men will get online and perform the bare minimum like we'll perform being a good boyfriend but they won't actually be a good boyfriend yeah they're like they're cosplaying it's so weird they're like P OV I'm actually nice to you I'm also like how
Starting point is 00:19:47 cringe like to imagine that camera up, probably on a book, because he probably doesn't have a ring light or anything. He's just like, and his roommate comes in and he's like, dude, what are you doing? He's like, I'm getting bitches on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Yeah, he's doing it. He's like, oh my God, I thought I was home alone. Oh my God, I'm so embarrassed. He's like, oh, sorry. He's like, we were talking to you. What? He's like, I thought you were at work. Oh my God, I can't film my content while you're here.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Sometimes people ask me, they're like, does your boyfriend listen to you when you film in the bathroom? Because I'd be filming on the toilet all the time. I'm like, yeah. Sometimes he's sitting out there Sometimes I tell him put on headphones Because I have to like Take that line again
Starting point is 00:20:24 Yeah you're like this is gonna be a rough one Yeah I'm all turn the volume up on the TV I don't want you listening to me anymore Does he ever like I feel like I would chuckle I'd like yeah sometimes he'll come out I'm like do you want to watch it he goes I listen to the whole thing I'm like still but you didn't see it
Starting point is 00:20:37 I know if it were me I'd be like drag them Yeah sometimes he'll send me once He goes you should do this one next He sources for me all the time He really does he's out there He's like drag this one Really, yeah, he'd really be out there. He'll tell me, I stitched this one dude once that my boyfriend actually found, and he, like, sent it to me.
Starting point is 00:20:55 But he was talking about me specifically. And I made a bunch of silly-ass jokes about him. Like, I said he looked like a friar tuck from the medieval times. I said he looked like an O-Linman that doesn't play in a D-3 school. Turns out that was right. Shot in the dark, babe, and I got him. I literally shot in the dark bullseye immediately. I was like, he made like 10 videos after that.
Starting point is 00:21:18 My favorite part about them figuring out that I stitch them is like the, it's almost like the stages of grief that they go through. So it's like denial, anger, sadness. Like, so they're like, I don't care at all. That did it. It worked. It didn't get. Well, you know, actually, I think it's just like, I think it's kind of fucked up that you like would stitch me. You know, you're actually just a bully.
Starting point is 00:21:36 That's what you are. It's like it goes so quickly the stages. It is. It's like they're grieving the loss. I love it. You're like, honestly, I love it. Slay. I think slay.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Okay, so we're going to get into our topic for today because obviously, as we all know, if you don't already, Johnny is a TV star. Tell us about your show, babe. Well, I'm on hacks. Love. Which is a comedy Emmy award winning. Period. It's Gene Smart. Hannah Einbinder.
Starting point is 00:22:09 So many cool queer people. It's a show about women and women that are badass. even in the world that doesn't allow them to be sometimes or, you know, stifles their good shit. But yeah, it's so nice to be part of not only a show that empowers women, but also of multi-generations, but also that empowers queer people and that just shows us as we are rather than like through trauma.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Trauma. And I mean, you know, we laugh about the way that the world is. And I think that's why the show does so well and so many people like it. Because it's like calling things out in a funny way. Yeah. It makes it less depressing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Well, I think that's such a great point too. Representation is like one of the few things that makes me emotional. Even if it's not representative of me. Yeah. It makes me emotional because I think to myself like, oh, just imagine like someone watching that as a young person coming to terms with their sexuality or who they are as a person, their identity. And they see someone like you. And they're like, oh my God, that's me. Like, oh, my God, that shit makes me cry.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Don't tell the man. It'll ruin my street cred. But literally, that makes me so emo because I just think it's so important. I think, and that's what I love most about any sort of show that platforms people from different walks of life. But then also, like you said, doesn't show them through a lens of trauma. Right. They focus on, like, love and joy and happiness. And then they also talk about serious things, but through a way that's, like, respectful, digestible.
Starting point is 00:23:46 It's not like triggering. Right. And the way that we talk about things in life, like sometimes we don't sit around a dinner table and we're like, all right, now we're going to talk about the serious stuff. We're just like in the car, like talking about how we're feeling. And that's what's important. I think representation in front of the screen is super important. But what I love about our show specifically is that behind the scenes, there's peppered with queer people, women, like writing what actual women would say. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Not like, oh my goodness, I've got to get home to get the roast. It's like, just because a woman's on screen, that's not enough. You have to make it so that, you know, it's like what people are like. And that's how we get to an understanding place with a lot of people because we know them and we know characters. Like, I remember I was in a show called Pose and it's like a trans narrative. And my mom like called me after like two episodes or whatever. and she's like, I feel like I know these people and like, how can I better help them in my like my line of work?
Starting point is 00:24:51 And she just happened to work for the government, which was super important. But it was like that is why representation is important because it does give people a window into a world they might not know of. Or like they have one gay cousin and they're like, we don't talk about him. We don't talk about Bruno. You know.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Yeah, literally. So it is so nice to like be a part of that. because I know what it meant to me to see like gay men when I was growing up. Yeah. You know, in secret. But still like, I was like, oh, some of them I was like, not me. And then some of I was like, that's me, you know. And that's why we need more of it because like I also don't want us to be in a place where like we can't be horrible people as well.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Yeah. You know what I mean? Like I don't need to be your model minority. Yeah. Like I can be shitty just like you. And that's equality, babe. You know what I mean? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:25:41 And that's real. That's the best part. think those are the shows that do the best. Like they resonate the most with people when they can relate. And then when it's told through the lens of someone who has had those life experiences as well, like firsthand, it's much more authentic. And I feel like authenticity is what people gravitate towards the most, whether it's on social media or traditional media, like TV, movies, whatever it may be.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Yeah. When they feel like so seen, right, by like writers, producers, directors, actors, right? When they see seen by you, they're like, oh, I'm going to follow this because it makes. makes me feel like I'm looking at myself. Yeah. Which I think is so incredible. And I think, too, like, like to the point that you made about having a team that's also representative in general,
Starting point is 00:26:24 I feel that way, too, about, like, any other aspect, like my hair and makeup artist is someone, for example. And so he knows how to do glam on my face because my face is very someone. So I have, like, very round features, very big eyes. And I've gotten my makeup done by other people, and it looked nice, but like it didn't really accentuate my features. It almost was like kind of cutting them into like Eurocentric features. So I like working with people who understand like my body type, my face, my face shape, like things like that.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Because then it's like it's highlighting the best aspects of like what make me me. Right. So in like that's in a small way the same thing as yours. Like it's they're fabricating it in a way that's representative of real people. Yeah. But it's also huge in a way if you think about it because you have a platform. Yeah. that now you're giving employment to someone that can build their own platform based on like,
Starting point is 00:27:17 you know, like, if you look at the Kardashians, like, their team are like super famous. Yeah, yeah. And, you know, and they then can hire more people that are like. So it's like, it's really a trickle down effect if you, you know, and it makes other people that are watching your videos feel empowered to also do that. Like I was talking to this girl yesterday and she's like, I'm a baby, I'm a baby content creator. like I feel like I have to subscribe to a niche. I'm like, no.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Yeah. I'm like, I love an analogy, so you're a baby. Let's say you're a baby. Like babies are curious. Babies like to do and get into a lot of different shit. Yeah. Until the world tells them like, no, this is your lane. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Girls don't do this. Boys don't do this. Blah, blah, blah. I'm like, so quiet the noise of TikTok, whoever's telling you that these videos perform better, blah, blah, blah. You do you because build it and they will come. Absolutely. Period. I say that too when people ask me about
Starting point is 00:28:12 Concent Creation, I'm sure people ask you to you because you're obviously both like traditional actor and also social media person, but people ask me like how do I get into content creation? How do I build a platform? I always tell people too, like there's only one Emma Chamberlain. She's taken. Right. You don't need to do
Starting point is 00:28:27 what she's doing because she's authentically herself. That's what made people like her. So like what you have to bring to the table is unique because there's only one you. When you try too hard to steer into like a certain skid or a trend or the thing about trends is they're cyclical so they
Starting point is 00:28:43 come and they go yeah right so you have to stay true to yourself I feel like that's easier to build a platform because when it's like centered around you then you can do anything right like you can move into other things like obviously I have a niche but I've been able to move it into other things because it's mainly
Starting point is 00:28:59 just me talking shit and that's the thing like there will be other people that will do the same thing yeah and they'll be good but it'll you can always tell when someone's doing someone else's thing. Yeah. It's like back in the 90s where they're like, we need a Britney Spears on our label.
Starting point is 00:29:17 And everyone's like blonde. And I'm like, and all worthy artists. But like you can tell that a lot of them were forced into this like, we need a Britney. Yeah. Because they saw it work with the Britney. Right. And like, and I will say it's not to the fault of the artist or the creator because it's like, you just want your shit to be watched or your songs to be listened to.
Starting point is 00:29:37 So you're like, okay, I'll do it this way. But baby, I got to tell you. It's never going to feel like work when it is coming from a place of like, oh, this is actually me. Absolutely. Yeah. When you feel like you have to like pretend all the time, that's when it gets exhausting as a content creator. Can you imagine you're like... Your voice drops like two octaves.
Starting point is 00:30:02 You're like, oh my God. I'm exhausted. Okay, so I'm going to get into these videos. So what we do here on the comment section is we bring videos here that I was tagged in that are applicable to our topic for today, which I don't even think I said, but our topic for today is basically men and women in television how they're perceived and basically the reception from the audience and how they're treated differently because of it. So this first video, I just give summaries of them. This is a clip from a 2015 interview where an interview is asking an actor Peter Davison.
Starting point is 00:30:39 if he thinks the show Doctor Who should ever have a female doctor as a star. He says personally, as someone who has grown up with the show, he just can't picture it being a woman. Doctor Who is a man in his mind since this interview. There has been a female Doctor Who played by Jody Whitaker and some men had a problem that they cast a woman. No. Are you kidding? I am shocked. I'm gooped and gagged, bitch.
Starting point is 00:31:03 Men having a problem with a woman doing something? That's that a man typically would do? Truly. Doctor who? I mean, it says it right there in the name. Anybody could be it. It could be a non-binary person at this point. Dr. Who?
Starting point is 00:31:19 Dr. Who cares is what it is. Or like, who gives a shit? I grew up on these books and it was never a woman. It's like, okay, but you got your version, babe. And you're also 100. Worry about that. Go to sleep. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:31:33 We're about the old folks home. Worry about retirement. God. I know you're getting calls from Vanguard. BAM. So some of the comments on you says completely agreed Jody was a big mistake
Starting point is 00:31:43 in my opinion the way I see you're effectively rewriting history and messing with the character. History? Mm. Of a fictional show? That's so funny.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Yeah. I literally went to, dude, this was way before I like had a huge platform but this guy like was like unpopular opinions. He like made an unpopular opinion. And it was honestly fun. It was silly things but like one of them
Starting point is 00:32:07 was about Batman. Right? And he was like, Batman is not a superhero. He's like a vigilante more than anything. And I've been saying that forever. I'm like, The Man has no powers. In fact, his...
Starting point is 00:32:18 I saw a sweet once I said his power is white privilege. Literally. He's like Elon Musk, but like actually... Yeah, and he's inserting himself in other people's business. Right? He's like, I got this. Yeah. Just beating this shit out of random people.
Starting point is 00:32:33 So like I was... He said he's not a superhero. He's like a vigilante. And I commented on it and I was like, I've been saying that. about Batman forever. Like this was way before I had a platform. Yeah. Tell me why these dudes were trying to argue with me.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Like, he has a super hero, blah, blah, blah. And like, I literally wrote it. I was like, you know what's funny is he's not real? So who gives a shit? Like, who cares, bitch? Oh, that's the best. Yeah, it's funny because like anything's possible
Starting point is 00:32:57 and make believe land. Yeah. Like, in the world of Marvel, none of it's real. Yeah. And he's not even Marvel. D.C. He's like, this is actually American history. That's why I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:33:06 George Washington actually. Rewriting history. Fictional history. I founding fathers actually said that Batman was a superhero. It's in the Constitution. And then you ask him, have you read it? And they go, no. Their favorite text to cite, they haven't even read it.
Starting point is 00:33:22 This next one says, I never watched Doctor Who, but I know he's a man. Same as James Bond, if you want female characters, create some. Yeah, but also, like, allow us to. You know what I mean? I'd love to. If you keep doing the same shit over and over again, you know what I mean? It's like, make your own stuff. Like, there was, I was, um, on this show called Queers Folk, RIP one season.
Starting point is 00:33:44 But we were, like, a reimagination of like the, the two press versions. Yeah. And they're like, oh, why can't you just make a new show? Like, why does it have to be Queersfolk? Why can't you leave our, uh, cis white gay show alone? They didn't say that, but that's what they meant. Yeah, yeah. It was implied.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Yeah, it was there. It was heavy. Yeah. And I was like, well, it's funny because there's a lot of people trying to get shows made, but they're not allowed to because there's not the already baked in money that comes with the name recognition. So, like, you want Dr. Who to always be a man. Well, like, sure, but, like, there's no doctor.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Dr. Vagina. Who she, like, you know what I mean? Dr. Uteris. Dr. Philopian Tis. Dr. Ovaries. Dr. Titties. You know what I mean? Like, move out of the way and let us make our shit then.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Because also, like, if you think about it, like, a lot of the TV shows that are coming out now like Abbott Elementary, hacks, like female-driven shows are doing great. And then, you know, the reboots and stuff aren't doing as well because people do want fresh content. Yeah, they want new things.
Starting point is 00:34:52 But the guys at the top are like, what can we do again? Let's redo Batman for the 20th time. And listen, I love Batman. Like, he's close to my heart since being a kid. But like, also, I don't need to see every it actor in Hollywood play him. Play Batman. Unless like they're going to call me and they want like a short.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Unless you're going to ask me. Then I'm dumb. That's like they like spin a wheel and they're like, yeah, it's Batman again. Let's do it. What's Robert Pattinson doing? And he was great. I loved the new Batman. Hard mascara.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Yeah. Spooky. So spooky. So scary. I was like I was like low key afraid watching that one. I was like why is this shit so scary? But speaking of like new shows and stuff or like how they perceive women in television or whatever, it's kind of like how lots of men.
Starting point is 00:35:38 love The Office. And I, listen, I like The Office. I think it's hilarious. Just want to make it clear. I love. However, they'll say, like, women aren't funny. Women can't write for comedy, whatever. And they don't understand that, like,
Starting point is 00:35:50 Mindy Kling was a huge reason why that show did so well. She wrote so many episodes, so many characters. Like, she was in the show herself. Right. The fact that they self-own themselves, they're like, see, like, this is comedy. And this is written by a man. I'm like, one of the main writers on that show was Mindy.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Yeah. Also, it's so funny when guys are like, this is comedy. I'm like, you're not funny. So what would you know? Baby, what are you talking about? You don't have the range to talk about what comedy is. Well, let's both tell jokes and see who laughs. That's what I say all the time.
Starting point is 00:36:19 I'm like, if I were to go randomly poll people and ask them who's funnier, who do you think they'd pick, bitch? Would you imagine you're on the street like most of those men are? Yes. Just asking like, hey, tell me a joke. And they're like, uh, and then they'll probably repeat something from the office. Yeah, exactly. Written by, you know, Mindy Kaylee. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:36:38 They're like a real male-driven, like, comedy. Right. And they don't understand. That's why I'm like, those make me laugh because I'm like, you guys are so stupid. Yeah. Like you don't know anything. And when it comes to comedy in general, I'm always like, obviously humorous objective.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Like not everyone's going to find the same shit funny. But like, if we were to check tape, one of us is funny. That's what I say all the time. Listen, I don't want to suck my own dick. But like, if I were to measure the two of us, one of us is funny. Also, a bitch that's funny. never need someone to tell them that they're funny or not. Or talk about how funny they are.
Starting point is 00:37:11 No. People are like, oh, you're not funny. I'm like, I don't care. I think I'm funny. And that's half the battle. Yeah, there you know what I mean. And I'm hard to please. Right.
Starting point is 00:37:19 So that's how I know. I also have people that would disagree with you. You know what I mean? Oh, God. This next comment says, oh, like a female bond or a black Batman. Why? Just create something new for them.
Starting point is 00:37:34 That's called being racist. Oh. That's called being racist. Jesus, babe. Jeez. That's you being racist. Well, you know, it's... This is going to be...
Starting point is 00:37:42 I'm probably will get dragged for this, but like, it's true. There's a lot of lack of culture. Yeah. In some communities. And so they grasp onto Marvel and things like that because they don't have culture. Like, they don't have actual, like, you know, they have colonizers.
Starting point is 00:38:02 You know what I mean? Like... I'm like, you know, the... You know, we can't, we can't like Christopher Columbus was a superhero because he you know he wasn't um but they're like but Batman that's my dude I'm like he's not real yeah so tea
Starting point is 00:38:16 oh my god my whole world just opened again I've never thought about it like that the fact that they the colonizers like latch on to make believe well because if they look at if you look at their historical figures like they're all racist and you know misogynous that's true so they they really hold dear these fake people Superman and like you know
Starting point is 00:38:38 Green Lantern because they're actually the only things that they have and then like you know and then when that's done by a black person they're like wait a second this is our culture turns out I'm racist just like my ancestors turns out history's repeating that's why I'm like I saw the
Starting point is 00:38:54 it's the same outrage that there was about Little Mermaid right same exact outrage that they had I'm like she's not real you're getting mad over a fish bed Like she's not real. Like, go in the ocean.
Starting point is 00:39:07 She's not there. I don't think she would actually give a shit because she doesn't exist. It's so funny when people, like, do full dissertations about just being racist. They're like, well, if you look back at the people, it's like, just say you don't like black people.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Yeah, it's a lot easier. Redheads haven't gotten. I'm like, what? Redheads? Are you oppressed for being redheaded? Like, come on, babe. Like, use your brand. I think all the time, like,
Starting point is 00:39:33 just an ounce of, like, self-awareness, just a little, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny bit. That and some seasoning. Yeah. Go on add that in there, but I think, oh my God, that's so funny. It's the same thing I think, too, about, like, any sort of gender swap if they, but they, obviously, when it's women who are also minorities, they're being put into these roles, they're, like, way harsher on them than they are on, like, for example,
Starting point is 00:40:00 when they switched Aquaman to Jason Momoa. Like, obviously people were outraged. to an extent, but the wrath wasn't nearly as, like, visceral as it was towards Little Mermaid. Yeah. For obvious reasons. But I think, too, like, with that, it's like, who cares? Like, who gives a shit? Like, I really don't care if, like, Superman is a different race.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I really don't. I don't care. You know why? Because I get laid. So that's why I don't care. Yeah. But they're upholding the patriarchy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:30 That is their goal. That is all they live and breathe for is. is to uphold these standards. And that's why you will die alone. Like, I can guarantee it, babe. Like, that's pussyless behavior. It genuinely is. Like, when you're regularly getting snatched,
Starting point is 00:40:48 you don't think, like, things like that. Like, when you're getting late in general, what are who you like? Also, if you're a grown man in your 30s worried about the little mermaid and who's playing her. Weirdo. Maybe check into that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:41:01 Unpack it, maybe. It's important. Yeah. This last one says he's completely right. You shouldn't gender swap characters, especially if they've been a certain gender for six years. Gender is a social construct. It's been created by man, but it did not exist before colonization and, you know, the, what do you call it? Well, colonization still, but like when you spread religion.
Starting point is 00:41:29 I forget the word. Shitty thing. I don't know. When you indoctrinate people to our religion, they don't want to be a part of. Yeah. Oh my gosh. You'd be surprised the things they made up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:43 You'd be shocked. Yeah. That's why like a lot of like growing up, a lot of missionaries would go to like countries in Africa because they're like, we've got to spread the good word. Which is like not the, it's not really the good word. It's, like, history would show it is not. It is in fact not a good word. I mean, most of the ills and like the wars that we've gotten into over like,
Starting point is 00:42:03 the world's time is because of religion and people not being able to like they're like, I like blue and people like weird. You're going to hell. Immediately I'm going to have to kill you. Yeah. Well, I talked about this too when I had a Sam one guest on but like in Sam one culture there's a third gender
Starting point is 00:42:20 and it's very common in indigenous cultures is a third gender. So that has existed for thousands of years and then you introduce religion and they're like not anymore. Right. And then all of a sudden it's like it never existed in the first place. When there's like countless documentation of it prior to being colonized. So it's like it when they say these things about like, oh, there's so many things now, like so many genders, so many sexualities, whatever. I'm like, those have been around for thousands of years before your ancestors came over here.
Starting point is 00:42:52 That's how it was. That's how the world was. Yeah. And it's like, I just don't get it. It's not for you to get. Then don't. Like then move out of the way. Yeah, but exactly.
Starting point is 00:43:02 It's like, I don't get it. Okay, then don't. Like, then don't. Go do that over there. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I can't imagine going to someone's house and be like, hmm, change this. Excuse me? Immediately, I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:43:16 It makes me uncomfortable. This is my favorite rocking chair. How long have you had it 30 years? It's got to go. My house doesn't look like this, so I think you should change yours. That's insane. Like, if you really think about it, that's how it is. It is, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:28 It's just, I always think, too, like, you're too worried. You got nothing going on. Well, I always say, like, people that aren't oppressed will find an oppression somewhere. In the comment section, they'll find their oppression in you calling out their bad behavior. Oh, my God. Yeah. Wow, I've never. It's like, yeah, no, you've never experienced this.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Yeah, yep. That's why I always say, like, sometimes the people that are the most outraged have never been in a fight in their life. Never got on their ass beat. I'm like, you're talking like, you never got your ass beat before, baby, because I know not to say certain things. And who not to say, you know what I mean? Exactly. I will get my ass beat because I have gotten my ass beat. And you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:44:08 But people I'm like, oh, you're creating something. And you're also click clack, click click click clack. I'm like, if you were in one-on-one, it'd be a different vibe. Yeah, absolutely. I think too, I saw, I think it was a TikTok. It was like, it was someone like literally swinging on someone who was being racist towards that, which is always funny. I love it. That's always funny.
Starting point is 00:44:31 That's one of my bookmarked. on Twitter is at the right of that. Yeah. And so I saw it in in the comments she said like my dad always told me you can say whatever you want as long as you know how to fight. And it's true. It's very bad. It's so true. As long as you know how to fight you can say literally anything you want. And that's and that's another thing too. I've told people like when it comes to my content, you can say anything, literally anything at all truly. You could you could say the worst most vile things in the world. Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence.
Starting point is 00:45:00 Oh, very that. So if you say it, I'm going to react to it. That's called a consequence. So, like, just because you're allowed to say it doesn't mean it's okay and that it's going to be well received. Yeah. Well, it's so funny because I had a conversation with someone recently. Speaking of people that can't fight or haven't fought.
Starting point is 00:45:18 But they're like, violence isn't the answer. I'm like, yeah, it's not the answer, but it is an answer. It's one of them. And also, like, for you to think that physical violence is the only form of violence is tells me everything I need to know about you. Period. Because some of the, some of the shit that, like, has stuck with me the most
Starting point is 00:45:35 isn't stuff that's happened to me physically. Yeah. It's stuff that's been said to me. It's stuff that, like, has been ingrained into me. So you can kiss my ass if you think you're not going to catch these hands. You know what I mean? Yeah, absolutely. That's why I think the same thing, too.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Like, your, the lens is just so small when you think that way. Like, when you, and I always say it's primarily who's, say things like that because I've said before they're welcome at any table you have a seat at every table must be nice some of us don't have a seat and that's why my platform is the one table that you don't have a seat
Starting point is 00:46:11 at you don't get to talk here like you get to listen here here is where you only listen you don't get to speak and that's why they freak out because they're so used to being prioritized emotionally physically just systemically in all aspects of life they're used to being
Starting point is 00:46:27 at the top right and my platform is the one place that you don't get a say here. Yeah. So I wrote an op-ed recently for the LA Times just about my experience dealing with like misogyny and bigotry online. And I've talked about how like my goal is not to change them, which is a common misconception because you,
Starting point is 00:46:44 as a minority oppressed person, I cannot convince someone who doesn't respect me to respect me. Hello? So I thought that was obvious. Clearly it's not. So I told them in my thing, I said, my goal is not to change them. silence them.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Right. Like they have us for thousands of years. Right. And that's just the tea on that, babe. Like, I don't want to hear what you have to say. Right. That's why sometimes people are like, have, have me on your show, Mom. And why?
Starting point is 00:47:13 For what? You want to get humiliated in person? Very that. I doubt that. Doctor who, what? Doctor who cares, not me. Yeah, I feel like it is, it is interesting because, like, when you do have this, like, privilege, like, and, you know, the privilege exists. but like I don't like to talk too much about it because it gives it more power than it deserves
Starting point is 00:47:34 because truly it's made up like that that privilege is made the fuck up because we're all the same exactly so like when especially when when I talk about queer people I'm not like I don't I'm not like oh please tolerate us please accept us I don't need you to accept me exactly I'm accepted because I accept myself so move out of the way or get in line yeah like you know it's a conga line baby we can have some fun or you can move out of the way because I'm not here to placate your your your your bullshit like and because our people have done it for so long because like oh we'll meet you here we'll we'll keep meeting you where you are no baby you come to my house exactly you know eat off my plate if I let you yeah but some people aren't worth even engaging with exactly I I say that
Starting point is 00:48:22 all the time too because the thing is I I've had many men be like why don't you debate me why you do this, want to do that. I don't want to. I said, like, quite simply, I don't want to. And it's funny because they equate that to being scared. I'm all, whatever makes you feel better, babe. I said, that's the beauty of me being free
Starting point is 00:48:42 from male validation. You don't matter to me. And that makes him even more mad. I'm like, you're worthless to me. Like, if you really think about it, like, you don't have a platform, you don't have a voice, you don't have anything. What do you, what do I get out of bringing you here? Nothing. Your regular, regular, regular.
Starting point is 00:48:57 Other than like surreasis and stress. Like what do I get other than chest pain from having to listen to you spew bullshit? Nothing. I get nothing. I don't get followers. I don't get likes. I don't get money.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Not worth it to me. But I think that's also so powerful too. Like just saying like I don't want to. Yeah. Like work. There's nowhere to go from there. Yeah. They're really.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Oh, you're scared. I'm not. Okay. But I don't want to. Yeah. Yeah. Just like when you were like, that character's fake. It's like,
Starting point is 00:49:25 uh, ha. You know what I mean? Shorts are gay. Laterally. What do you mean I can't go? I can't go anywhere. Like when you just say no, I'm good. I don't want to.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Yeah. No. That's why they're like, no, I don't think I will. I say that all the time. They're like, oh, just, especially a woman saying no. You know, it's funny. I tweeted about that once.
Starting point is 00:49:45 And like, when they're like, you should have been of opposing views. No, I shouldn't. That's why I said, if you know nothing about me, like, if you've been jerking off to me, like hate jerking off to me forever. the one thing you should know about me is I don't listen to a man oh babe let me tell you something you tell me to do something I'm doing the opposite immediately yeah also like you've been reared in a society
Starting point is 00:50:07 that men have been shouting at you forever so like what else do I need to hear? I've heard it all baby I'm just hearing the same things over and over and like expecting different results but like at this point I'm done yeah and I literally said I said if you want to come here and talk over others and spit on a microphone either wait for Tucker Carlson to retire or get your own show bitch that's what I always say
Starting point is 00:50:33 why don't you get your own why don't you do it I did it yeah I got my own show you good luck with that yeah good luck to you babe because the terrible people all have one already so you got away from one of them die or retire you know what I'm saying like they're just in a circle like jerking each other off which is what they want ultimately yeah so I'm like do that with your bros you're not going to do that on my show bitch are you out of your mind and then nothing makes them more upset them and I'm like No. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:50:59 Why? I don't want to. Mm-hmm. Simple. What else are you going to say to that? And then they're like, well, just, you know, like, it's because whatever. I'm like, I know I'm smart. I don't have to prove that to you.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Right. So we can better understand each other. No, I know where you're coming from. No, I've heard the full encyclopedia of man. It's funny because, like, I don't need to hear. Right. And it's funny. I'm not obligated to listen to you.
Starting point is 00:51:23 But that's so funny because, like, that's how men feel towards everyone. Yeah, they reward your life. No, that's not, that's not true. I'm like, I love them. They're like, that's actually not true. I'm like, what? Yes, it is. No, I don't think, no, it's not.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I'm like, you're an idiot. Like, who do you mean? That's why I was like, you're stupid. So like, what would I get out of that? Like, like, the same thing. This is so funny. But it's like, when they're like, fighting fire with fire. You know, it doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:51:51 I'm all actually. Bitch, I will burn you down. Logistically speaking, that is how you fight fires. Ask any wildlife reserve person. Like any firefighter ask them. They do what's called like controlled burn. They burn everything ahead. So the fire has nowhere to go.
Starting point is 00:52:05 It goes out. That's me. I set fire to all that shit so it goes out immediately. Yeah, I don't know. So I was like, so metaphorically and literally, you're wrong. Yeah. And they say an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:19 And then I said this in a video. I'm like, well, first of all, who plucked whose eyes first? Bear that. Second of all, do you know who said that quote? if you do if Wikipedia told you when you looked it up who did who said god be and I said do you know what else he did pito you know what I'm saying I'm like look up what other atrocities he committed and then you tell me if that's the guy you want to lean on you know what I'm saying oh my god the facts they're probably like I saw it on a plate once my mom has a sign in her house that says that toilet yeah in her seat like sea themed bathroom
Starting point is 00:52:55 I literally, I said that once and some girl was like, damn, you're honestly too smart for me, bitch, like I can't. Someone said, Gandhi Slander, I'm here for it. He was also a raging racist. Yeah. So that's the guy you want to lean on? Interesting.
Starting point is 00:53:09 They really go back. I'd find a better source, babe. If I were you, I'd find a better source. You know what I'm saying? That's why I said, look it up. Look up who said that and then look up what else he did. Yeah, if you're going to pluck my eyes out, bitch, best believe you're going to be blind too.
Starting point is 00:53:22 Yeah. Exactly. In fact, I'm the only, I'm the one who probably shouldn't come near if we're being honest. Okay, let's be on to this next video. So this next video is of a guy who reviews movies and shows on TikTok. He's reviewing the Amazon series, A League of Their Own. I think it's the new one. My sister told me she loved it.
Starting point is 00:53:41 She said it was so good. And describes it as a worse reboot of the original movie where the biggest difference is it's way more political. And the main characters aren't stunning or good at baseball and they're into chicks. Okay. So homophobic. Let's unpack it. Yeah. You're homophobic.
Starting point is 00:53:59 The end. What do you said? They aren't pretty? It's too political and they're, they aren't stunning or good at baseball and they're into chicks. And they're into chicks. God forbid. Ugh.
Starting point is 00:54:13 You know, I was just describing, like, I was having this conversation with someone and I was talking about how like the fetishization of lesbians, right? But it's only if they look. a certain way. They fetishize it. And I said, but if you, if you see like two girls kissing and you're like, ooh, but then you see two men kissing and you're like, yuck, that's homophobic. You know what I'm saying? And I was like, and you only fetishize lesbians that look a certain way to you, like whatever your idea of beauty is, whatever, it's more than often Eurocentric beauty standards that they live up to. So I'm like, the fact that you're okay with watching that
Starting point is 00:54:49 in porn, for example, but then you see a show where they're talking about actual. gay women and they're like changing the narrative of this story. They're fully realized stories. Yeah, yeah. And then they're like, yuck. That's homophobic. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:04 What do you mean? They don't have French tips and they're not like, you know, hair, 50 pounds of hair on. Like, that's what I like. It's like, wait a second. This isn't for you, actually. Girls who look like this also kiss girls? Like just the Neanderthal train of thought that happens immediately.
Starting point is 00:55:21 Yeah. They like, dude. I wish I watched the show, but my sister said it was really good, so I have to watch it. Yeah, it's, I mean, it's just, it's, it's, it's funny when people say it's too political. What they're saying is, is like other people or other point of views are being spoken about. They're like, well, that's too woke. I'm like, okay, woke is now just a word that you use. Like you weaponize.
Starting point is 00:55:43 When you say you don't want to see black people or gay people or women. Yeah. It's like, oh, yeah, there's someone from every race there. I'm like, yeah, they're actually trying to do their do dill. to like show different people. You know, sometimes it is a little like swinging the pendulum this way, but honey, I'd rather them try and do it than like not do it at all. Yeah, literally.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Which has been the case. They say that as if they don't have thousands of, like points of reference. Go watch Madman. Yeah, go watch the original. Like you want to see all white women, all straight white women, cis white women. Also, there are so many more shows about white. straight men on TV. You want to come talk about the one show
Starting point is 00:56:27 where they're like celebrating lesbians. I mean, there's not just one show but like if you look at it, if you compare it yeah, it feels like there's one show. And then they're like, this is actually not good. I'm like, no, it wasn't for you. Yeah, you're like, you know, it's funny is it's not that good but you watch the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Like he went to episode one to the end. Sounds like a fan to me. You know, the actors are like, I'll take my check. Thank you very much for playing the game. Hey, you helped me renew for season two. Love. It's funny. I remember there was a reporter that, like, talks about queer as folk, and he was like,
Starting point is 00:57:01 queer is woke. And like, and then I remember there was like the Neil Patrick Harris show that was coming out, which like, he's like an older gay man in like his story. He's like, I'm so happy that Netflix is still like worried about gay men over 30. I'm like, it's interesting, like, what you find important. I'm like, a lot of us have never had us. seat of the table so we're finally getting a seat of the table and now you think it's too woke but you're so excited that Netflix is still telling stories about like guys that look like you yeah just say
Starting point is 00:57:32 the the quiet part out loud babe because I hear it loud and clear yeah it's pretty obvious at that point I think too like when they watch shows like this and then they're like oh like how you said it's not for you watch literally anything else you know what you should watch sins of our mother that's probably your, that's your culture. Oh my God. That's you guys. You know what I mean? True crime? Go watch that. Yeah, go ahead and watch.
Starting point is 00:57:58 Well, it's so funny. I actually did have a thought while I was watching that. I was like, I was like, these people, I swear to God, they just make stuff up. Like, they just make stuff up in order to have like power over someone or like, you know, it's wild.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Yeah, that documentary was nutty. I watched it and I was like, God damn. When I was watching the whole thing, it's crazy. And then you think these white people really be out here. Sometimes, you know what I mean? They really out here. And I think like... They really be out here. They really are.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Shout out to Succession though. Oh, yeah. My sister loves those shows. Love white mess. The drama. I love it. I'm like, yeah, they're scheming. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:39 And they're proud of it. You know what I mean? Like... That's so comment on this. This says, can't create a new idea. They have to take an old one and add in political. things. Political thing. Another. It's political. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:58:54 it's like non-sis-white superical. They're like, wow, lesbians. That's so political. Whoa. I saw a tweet once where someone was like, whenever I see people absolutely wig out of, like, for example, a commercial, it's like a serial commercial and it's
Starting point is 00:59:10 a same-sex couple. Like, let's just say it's two gay men and they have a family and it's serial. That's the point of the ad. And people lose their minds about like, it being shoved down their throat, whatever they say all the time. I love when they use that analogy.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Yeah, it's showing. What are you thinking about? You want something else shoved on your throat? So like when they, when they, he was like, whenever they have this like rage about it, he's like, I'm always so confused because you know people like that
Starting point is 00:59:42 actually exist, right? Like in the world, like they're not made up people. Like they're not, it's just like, like for example, the Little Mermaid. She's made. made up. She's not real. Gay people are real. They exist among us and they live normal lives and they have families and they have loved ones. Like that's very normal. They're in your communities. Yeah. And he's like the
Starting point is 01:00:01 fact that they wig out over things that are actually real and then like they like they'll eat up like a superhero movie and none of that shit is real. Like you know what I mean? Like it's just so bizarre. Like it's so telling. Also superheroes are so gay like like tight ass suits. It's giving gay. A long cape Honey, that's gay Well, if anything, it's camp You know what I mean? At the end of the day
Starting point is 01:00:26 It's a serve and it's a sleigh Also like gay people eating cereal Like Tony the Tiger wasn't gay as hell The Whole time They're great Okay girl It's one of those things where it's like It's just so
Starting point is 01:00:41 Indicative of like their life experience They feel so entitled to like Television You're like, this isn't for me. Yeah. They're like, I don't need to see that. I'm like, Lisa Kudra. But it's like, then don't.
Starting point is 01:00:58 Yeah, then don't. Like, imagine if I was like, I don't want to see, no, not the wedding planner because that was good. But like any rom-com that was like two white people, like, I don't want to see that. That's not my family. They'd be like, we don't care. And you know what?
Starting point is 01:01:13 We have. And I love them. I love so many of them. Same. And it's so funny when they're like, I can't really relate to this. I don't understand it. Okay. My entire life.
Starting point is 01:01:24 How about that? Yeah, that's crazy. You know who else feels like that? Every minority in the universe. I'm like, if I can see myself in Julia Roberts, you can see yourself in me. Yeah, just like use your imagination. As I said, in imaginary world, anything's possible. It's kind of like when Turning Red came out, such a cute movie, Turning Red.
Starting point is 01:01:45 and some white dude wrote a review on it and said like I just couldn't see myself at all okay yeah and like that's what it's like you're not an Asian girl going through puberty living in the Bay Area correct it's not for you bitch like it's not for you it's so weird like I when when queer as folk came out it's you know the the majority of the cast was you know black brown non-binary trans and I remember some white gay men coming up to me and being like, I love the show. I didn't see any characters that were like me. I'm like, how does that feel? How does that feel for you?
Starting point is 01:02:24 You know what? You can watch anything else. Like literally anything else. I watched that my whole life and I guess what I still found a way. I found a way to see me. You know what? I got through it. Also like seeing yourself isn't everything. Like see it's important to see stories that are not about you. So that you see how other people like, I love Angela's ashes, okay?
Starting point is 01:02:51 I love finding out how Irish people lived back in the day, like through their poverty. It wasn't me. Yeah. I'm not Irish, but I was like, T, that's what they went through. You know what I mean? Me with Elvis. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:03:04 I'm like, listen, I get it. I don't get it, but like, I get it. But like, I'm here for it. No, I totally get me. That's such a good point. Yeah. And I think that's another reason, too, why. I am such a proponent of like any sort of secondary education or like getting outside of your hometown, like moving away.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Like because it's important to interact with people who are not you, like who don't have the same life experience as you. I feel like it makes you a better person overall. It makes you a kinder person. It makes you more empathetic. It educates you like the way that when you interact with others, you suddenly become a nicer person. Yeah. Crazy how that works. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:03:40 I remember I grew up in Miami, so I was like always surrounded by Hispanic people. It wasn't until I moved to New York that I was like, Oh, I'm other? Yeah. Okay. And people would like make little jokes about like making guacamole. And I was like, oh, we don't really do that in Cuba or the Dominican Republic. But like, I hear what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:03:57 You know? Message received either way. It was like, oh, this is actually how people. But it didn't affect me because I grew up thinking I was the best. You know what I mean? I'm like, oh, no, this is all for me. I'll go on to this next comment. So this one says, what's next?
Starting point is 01:04:16 A TV show about the WNBA and pushing woke and wage gap agendas. The U.S. women's national soccer team and similar topics. That actually sounds like award worthy. I was going to say. I was like, I tune in. Oscars maybe. It's funny because those are all real things. He's saying them like they're like fake, like the WNBA.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Yeah. What's next? I mean, a lot of men don't believe it. real thing. What's next? Women playing sports? Yeah. Can't we have anything? No, you can't even have women. You can't have rights, though. Can't relate. It's funny because the WMBA thing,
Starting point is 01:04:58 I've made videos about this in the past with like men who are like, you know, men are just built stronger than women. Men are just more talented, physically capable, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I always think to myself, when you're talking about famous female, famous female athletes, Like, I said this in one of my first videos to ever go viral. I was like, this is a huge red flag in a man. If he watches someone like Serena Williams playing, and then he's like, I could do that.
Starting point is 01:05:25 No. Red flag. Red flag bitch run. Like immediately. The delusion. Honestly. I think to my, I literally think to my, there's no way you think that you're physically capable enough to compete at her level.
Starting point is 01:05:38 You know why? Because you're on this couch next to me and she's over there. Right. She's at Wimbledon. and you're in Orange County, bitch. Like, that's how we know. And your calves don't exist. I just, I always think like you're making fun of someone who gets paid to play a sport.
Starting point is 01:05:54 And you're at home. And has been doing it their entire life. Yeah, well, you know, like in high school, if I didn't tear my ACL, that would have been me. Oh, my favorite story. Oh, but it isn't. If I didn't tear, if I didn't sprain my ankle in ninth grade, that could have been me. That could have been me. I'm like, you think about the highest level of, like, male athletes, for example,
Starting point is 01:06:12 the men that they idolize, like NFL players, NBA players, whatever. Like, those men are on another tier. Like, they don't exist in the same world as you because they are naturally athletic. You don't have that. So to think that you're like, you know how I'm going to pick on the women? She's also at a professional level. Like, even if you don't think it's the same. Could you imagine like, I can do that, LeBron?
Starting point is 01:06:35 They're like, I can take them. Like, honestly, I think like, you know, and I'm like, he's not going to meet you at L.A. Finnisville. Like he's not gonna play pickup game against you at the Y. He's really not. Like he's busy. I would actually love to see that. Me too.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Just like, did you ever see that video of Serena Williams when she was playing? She played six men at one time. All of whom were like, oh, I think I could keep up with her. Oh my, no. Yeah, she played them one at a time. And then she played all six of them at like the same time. Oh, it was the funniest shit I've ever seen in my life. I was like, she was laughing and having fun and they're all winded and sweating.
Starting point is 01:07:07 I'm like, bitch, come on. If that ain't an analogy for just men in general. That's what I'm saying. in general. Hilarious. That's so funny. Lying to your mom, bro. Like, you sitting here
Starting point is 01:07:16 being like, I could do that. Yeah. Well, someone's mother probably lied to them too. Like, honey, you could do that. You could do anything
Starting point is 01:07:24 you put your mind to. You could absolutely do that. No, he can't. His mind isn't actually there. I'm like, he's 25 and works at AutoZone. Like, that's just not, it's not in the cards.
Starting point is 01:07:32 And I say that's too like when they brag about being an athlete in high school, big red flag. Yeah. No one cares. Oh my gosh. I had an ex-boyfriend
Starting point is 01:07:40 that did that. Well, he wasn't an athlete, but he used to talk about his body. He's like, before you met me, my body? I'm like, but like, you don't even have any pictures of this. Like, I don't even know what you're talking about. And also, like, who cares? Like, I'm dating you now.
Starting point is 01:07:53 So, like, why do I care about what your body look like before? He's like, yeah, yeah, I just wanted, like, I want you to know, like, what I was. I'm like, well, why would I care? I'm with you now. Like, so if it was better, then, like, don't talk about it. Or if you deem it better, like, I don't care. Yeah, but it's. What a deep rooted insecurity about.
Starting point is 01:08:10 Like truly, it's so, it's almost like, it's like quitting before you get fired kind of thing. You're like, you're like laying down the foundation just in case you find out that you don't like him. He's like, well, I never liked you anyways. Oh my. I'm like, but you did. Sure. That's not what you said on. Yeah, I'm like it, burgos.
Starting point is 01:08:30 You're like, me when I lie. Literally me when I lie. I can't. It's really hard for me to lie because I know I remember it. So I'm like, hmm, I can't like Lisa Renna the thing. I don't remember saying that. Like, I do. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:44 I sometimes I'll be like, I never said that. Yeah. Like actually a friend called me out on something that I did recently and I go, yeah, I did that. I did that and I shouldn't have. And, you know, and he's like, yeah. And I'm like, what do you want? What else would you like? I am sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Yeah. And I shouldn't have done it. But I did it. Yeah. And he's like, oh, you're owning up to that. I'm like, well, yeah. I'm like, I'm not like, like, an idiot. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you if I could.
Starting point is 01:09:10 I would. I love that because my worst fear is someone to be like, this, you? And if someone did do that, I'd beg, yeah, that was me. I'm, drag me. I deserve it. And that's like, I feel like if men didn't take themselves so seriously. Yeah. If they were just like, you know what?
Starting point is 01:09:27 You got me, girl. Yeah. Like, I think it was like a show, like an episode of legendary. And it was like Law Roach and Kiki Palmer. Yeah. And she was like, you're tired. Oh, yeah. When they were like fighting.
Starting point is 01:09:38 You ate that. Yeah. Like, you gotta ate. If men could just be a little more like, you ate that, Drew. It's like, I would like, you know, the world would be so euphoric. I think so. I think we'd all have a silly, goofy time and enjoy ourselves. Like, let's all key, key together is what I think.
Starting point is 01:09:54 I'm like, I've told them to, I'm like, some men have been like, honestly, like, that was funny. Like, some men have said that, they'll call me names back, but like, they're like, she was funny, but like, she's still fat bitch. I'm like, well. Oh my God. But it was funny, though, huh? Yeah. That's what I thought. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:10:09 You still laughed. I still got you. I got power over you. Okay, this last comment says, they woke it up and ruined what maybe could have been cool. It's a show for lesbian softball players. Wow. Yeah. I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yep. That should be, is that like a review on that episode? Right. Like, are we putting that on a billboard? They're like, don't watch. It's for lesbian softball players. There's a lot of them. And you know what?
Starting point is 01:10:36 They're like, cool. Yeah. Like they see it. they're like, oh my God, I would love to watch that. Imagine like being able, like, being a lesbian softball player your entire life and finally seeing some bitches on the screen that you're like, oh my God, me. Oh my God, I was like that girl. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Representation. And honestly, I find it like, I find it hilarious just because it's just the most egregious, like, why is not everything in this world for me? Like, everything in this world is not catered to me and that upsets me. If that's like, okay, if a show about lesbian softball players gets your panties that wadded up, quit now. Life's too hard. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:18 If that's your biggest worry, babe. Get a job. I mean, like, do something. Get a hobby. I don't know. Like, go outside. Yeah. Touch some grass.
Starting point is 01:11:28 Go hug your mom. I mean, I don't know. Like, I just feel like I have too many things going on up here to worry about that. Yeah. Too many. I'm too busy. Unlike you, I have a job. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:11:40 Like, that's your biggest stressor. Yeah, watch Game of Thrones. Yeah. Like, they... They're into incest, but not lesbians. Yeah, they're like, whoa. But I draw the line. Two women kissing.
Starting point is 01:11:54 I consensually, I draw the line. But this girl was 16, and the guy was like 58, and they're like, well, it's fantasy. I'm like... Suspending belief, I see. Oh, so you can do. do that. They'll watch like assaults in shows and they're like, listen, it's imperative to the storyline. They see two women lovingly and consensually entering a relationship together and they're like,
Starting point is 01:12:19 where does it end? Where does it end? What do we draw the line on this? So everyone's invited? Everyone is invited. Just like life. Everyone's invited. You know what you could do?
Starting point is 01:12:30 Click. Turn it off. That's what you could do. But you're going to keep watching because you actually like the show. And it did really well from what I heard. here. Yeah. It did.
Starting point is 01:12:39 That's what you call a fan. That's what I'm saying. Oh, I love secret fans. Me too. Yeah. And you have a lot of them. Oh, babe. Let me tell you.
Starting point is 01:12:46 They're keeping up. They really are. They, I swear to God, some of them have my post notifications on because like as soon as I post anything, they're in there fatty. I'm like, babe, you're keeping up with me. Yeah. Keeping up with Drew instead of the Kardashians. It's me.
Starting point is 01:13:00 Oh, my God. I love when you're like, you don't follow me, but your girlfriend does. Yeah. I made a video once that I was like, it's like, you'd be. think about the girl that you love. Like, if you're, like, think to yourself, I had her, the world would be right. Like, I would treat her good. She's so fine.
Starting point is 01:13:15 Like, I just love her. And I'm like, you got her? And I'm like, yeah, she follows me. Go ahead and hold on to that little nugget. You know what I mean? Digest it. That's why I said, like, if the girls find out you hate me, don't let them. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:13:30 That's like your favorite famous bitch. Like, I'm talking like famous like you, like actually, like celebrity. That girl follows me. she's in my DMs and you're in her comments. She's like, go off, sis. Yeah, she's literally like, I love you. You're so funny. You're literally the funniest person ever.
Starting point is 01:13:47 That's such a good, like, date, like, to bring you up on a date. Yeah. Like, what do you think about Drew? Like, and if they've, you can always tell, like, when a man's lying. I just think she takes a dude for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:59 Check please. Yeah. I know. I talked about that with Dylan Mulvaney. Yeah. Love her. Yeah. But when she was on my show,
Starting point is 01:14:07 We talked about it, and she was like, yeah, I've had people use me as like a gauge. And I was like, same. And I was like, add me and Dylan to your profiles and let's see. Let's see who makes it past those two firewalls, ma'am. Yeah. If they do, good man. It's like putting like, well, it's not the same thing. But like whenever you say like equal rights or like something on your profile where you're like, put your pronouns or you put BLM, people like, well, this person's too good.
Starting point is 01:14:34 Too empathetic to others that don't have the same life experience. can't relate. Yeah. But men are getting smarter. Men are getting smarter and they will do some sneaky shit in order to, so they might follow you, but they're like, yeah, I follow Drew. Yep. That's when you've got to start getting smart.
Starting point is 01:14:49 What did she say about? Yeah. How do you feel about the content? I had a girl tag me once in a video where she was saying like, she was recording herself, but she was asking like one of her male co-workers. She was like, hey, like, what did you say about women? And he's like, I just don't think women are funny or whatever. I think men are naturally more funny.
Starting point is 01:15:06 whatever. Wow, la, la. Gay. But then she tagged me in it, and I literally wrote, like, ask him to tell you a joke. Like, ask him, say, tell me a quality joke. I want to hear it. And I said, and if it doesn't have anything to do with any sort of bigotry or, like, a fat bitch joke, I'll eat my f***in' hat bitch. If it doesn't have anything to do with oppression at all or, like, domestic abuse.
Starting point is 01:15:30 Yeah, punching down. Yeah, if it's not a punch down joke, I'll eat my hat. I really will. And so she was like, oh my God, okay, I'll ask him. I don't know if she ever did, but that's why I said, tell me a joke then. I want to laugh. Let's laugh together. I literally, they're like, I could say so many things about you.
Starting point is 01:15:44 Okay, go ahead. Go. By all means, I welcome it. Honestly, I do. I just, like, hope that the door swings both ways. Yeah. You know what I mean? Also, like, I hope that you can come up with something different.
Starting point is 01:15:55 Yeah. Like, because that's the thing. Men are so inventive with their insults. I'm like, you've been saying that to everyone. Yeah, fat bitch is like a huge one. Drew Buffalo. It's funny because I told Tricky Mattel when she was on my show
Starting point is 01:16:09 that they call me Drew Buffalo which is like a racist joke because they're like conflate they're like my last name on purpose but like I said see the way that you guys missed the opportunity to call me a Buffalo back bitch
Starting point is 01:16:20 that's funny. You know what I'm saying? Like now that's a joke. Get better. You know what I mean? I have some notes. I'm helping you here. Yeah like that's I gave them that
Starting point is 01:16:30 and they still don't use it. I'm like okay that's like a Buffalo back which is hilarious. It's alliteration. You know what I mean? There's layers to it. There's layers to it.
Starting point is 01:16:38 I said the way I came up with that in two seconds and you all can't use your brains. Oh my God. Men. Any, I know. Okay. So that's going to do it for our content for today. I want to thank the wonderful, amazing Johnny, for coming. I adore you, bitch.
