Starting point is 00:01:10 The you belong, you belong with me. And I was like, if a dude's saying that, yo, bro, he's getting locked up. You're right, because when women do it, it's okay. Yeah. But it's like, I gave you the past. It's okay. It's okay when you do it. I'm hearing the lyrics.
Starting point is 00:01:23 She wears short skirts. I wear t-shirts. And I'm like, ah, I, right. What's wrong with short skirts? Bro, like, you know what I mean? Starting point is 00:02:34 Shop off to college at Amazon. Save on college. Save the every day. Well, congratulations on your engagement. Congratulations on your engagement. Look at us to engage Queens. How's engaged life been for you? It's good. It's kind of like a whole new, what's it called?
Starting point is 00:02:51 Marshmallow phase, what's the word? Honeymoon phase. Yeah, marshmallow phase. Yeah, same thing. Yeah, same thing. Honestly, it feels like marshmallows for sure. Yeah, we just call each other fiancé now. I know it's nice.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Yeah. Doesn't it fit better because it's almost. like girlfriend, boyfriend felt not serious enough. Yeah, and I didn't, I didn't feel that way until the fiancee came up. And then you're like, this fits better. And like people, it sucks because people kind of look at it better, which I don't know how I feel about it. It's like, we was locked in before the ring now.
Starting point is 00:03:21 I agree. Yeah, but I couldn't agree more. And have you noticed any time you bring up that your fiance, people immediately talk about their wedding? Have you noticed that? Yeah. Have you started planning? Oh my God, don't do it.
Starting point is 00:03:32 I hated it. Yeah, every, every woman I've ever. ever met who's been married and planned a wedding to some extent they've told i'm sure your fiance is getting this a ton which is like oh don't even bother yeah it's oh god i told her not to i was like look if you want like maybe you can like be in the process a little bit but i was like the last thing i want is for you to want our wedding to just be over with right same and so i was like likewise we just got to trust somebody but you know right but she's a very she likes her hands and everything she wants to be a part of the whole process so yeah let her do what she wants how long
Starting point is 00:04:04 together before you going age? Eight years. Okay, look at us. But listen. We're high school sweethearts. So don't, okay? T.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Mine was, eight, mine was seven and we were not high school sweethearts. Everybody's like, I would hate, they'd be like, oh, how long are together?
Starting point is 00:04:17 Eight years, and the first thing they do is look at her hand, and I can see it. I see their eyes go, they're like, all right, how long you and yours
Starting point is 00:04:25 been together? Oh, you're single? Oh, okay. No, fucking, for real. You're telling me, bitch. Every time seven years and I haven't been a ring on it, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:04:33 Okay, seven years you're not HVAC certified. Exactly. You're worried about the wrong timeline, brother? Yeah, I know, right? Don't worry about my ring. Worry about your suffering. Thank you. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Well, and I feel like we kind of talked about this the last time, but like the way that our relationships were kind of moving in, if I correct me if I'm wrong for mine, it's like I don't, I'm not in a rush. I know you're the one. Let's just live life together first and see, because we had plans, but I had a lot of goals of I wanted to hit before we got. got engaged before we got married before we bought a home anything like that so i'm like i want to get a dog i want to live together for a long time i want there's like so many different things i think
Starting point is 00:05:11 are far more important than like when you get married as long as you're aligned on getting married i think it'll be fine i think and i mean i know we're not married but i think what people don't understand is like the the age old you know you're with somebody for two three years you pop the question and then you get married like the year after yeah i think if you really let it like slow boil and you really know because like I'm still learning new things about like my fiancee to this day yeah so it's like like I'm like okay well I'm glad we spent the time to know one which is the most important ourselves who we are as people right and then how how those two people like connect I agree how we can like move forward in life and so I think everything has a divine timing like
Starting point is 00:05:54 I'm supposed to be I was supposed to pop that question when I popped it and now we're here period fucking same it was a story how was your story of how yeah did you know no I had no fucking really did she know no okay see that's that's T because you're just like my man like I really thought like he fucking got my ass because it was our seventh anniversary last August but I was on tour and he was with us so like our last show was on our anniversary so the weekend after that he was like oh we should go away together for the anniversary which we had already planned so I was like he was like you should go away again yeah like and I was I was like, that's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:06:29 I was thinking the same thing. And I planned the whole thing. I found the place. I booked it. I like to do that stuff. So that's what I did. Yeah. So I did that.
Starting point is 00:06:38 And then I was like, I didn't even consider it until we were getting to the day. Like we were going to leave to the hotel and stuff. And I was like, would he propose now? And I was like, no way. Because I planned everything.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Yeah. Including dinners and shit. I was like, I planned all that shit. There's no way. He wanted to surprise me. It's not going to be this weekend. He got my ass,
Starting point is 00:06:56 bitch. I wasn't expecting it at all. Yeah. I guess since you plan everything, he couldn't be like, yo, I've got everything planned. Yeah. You're like, wait, what? Yeah, no, for real,
Starting point is 00:07:04 it was like a real cloak and dagger with me. Because I remember, too, that night, we went to like Omikaze. Have you ever been to Omikaze? It's sushi, right? Yeah, but it's like the kind where you sit and they give you the one piece at a time kind of thing. Very boogie.
Starting point is 00:07:17 I love that stuff, yeah. I feel so good when I'm there. Right. Never full, spend like $400. I was just about to say. Leave starving. Had a great time now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Me and my girl went to a fast food spot after. This is for real. We had it. We had like the 12 courses. We were like, this is great. Let me get something to eat. I'm starving,
Starting point is 00:07:38 are you? No, same. Honestly, we ordered, I think, room service after because we were still so hungry. I left a little drunk because I was so hungry.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I had nothing to absorb all the alcohol. So we went to the dinner. I remember we were a little bit late, of course, because I'm late. And it was probably like 10 minutes. So they started the first course. We sit down,
Starting point is 00:07:54 the guys like serving us. And you know they know, like if you're celebrating something you like tell them so he was like oh so you guys are celebrating an anniversary I'm like yeah it's the chef like the guy and he goes oh like how long have you guys been married I was like oh we're not married and he goes how long have you guys been together
Starting point is 00:08:09 I go oh it's seven years and he goes not married goes like that I go yo my man can I get him some sushi chef has jokes oh you're fucking hilarious me annoyed at him I'm like as soon as he turned around I go fuck that guy and we're laughing Eat nest,
Starting point is 00:08:26 this is delicious, by the way. Hey, you're eating it. You're great at what you do. Yeah, you're killing it, by the way. And I remember, too, like, at one point, they gave us these little glowy things that went in drinks. And so one of them fell down. And it started lighting up underneath the little bar we were sitting at.
Starting point is 00:08:45 And I went, oh, my God. And then I remember he was like, what? Because he had his bag down there with the ring in it. And I go, there's like a glowy thing on the ground. Don't worry about it. Yeah, he goes, oh, oh. all right and I remember him being a little weirded out about it and I was like are you all right yeah and so then we left went up to the room he had asked me oh do you want to go for a walk like around the
Starting point is 00:09:05 hotel which again I thought was strange because it was like 10 p.m and it was dark outside and I was like um it's kind of dark and he was like okay yeah we could just go back to the room and I was like all right and we went back to dinner I was like wow what a nice dinner and then we went inside the room and there was like pedals everywhere like three huge like 24 long stem roses like three huge faces of those and balloons all over the ceiling and again I really thought and this makes me sound like a dick because it makes me sound like I'm lying but I'm not my man does shit like that for me so often that I'm like oh my god yeah I was about to say it was like you probably thought it was just for the
Starting point is 00:09:39 anniversary yeah I was like oh that's so beautiful wow that's so nice I was like when did you ask them to do all this and he's like earlier and I go oh really not once have I turned around I was like that's so weird because I feel like I've been with you all day me just fucking talking yeah I can't shut the fuck up and then I and then I turned run and he was on one knee. And then I was like, what are you doing? What are you doing? Which some people have asked me, have you guys recorded it or whatever? And I was like, no. And thank God, because he told me he asked for all that stuff to be put in there. And they said, oh, we can put a photographer in there to like take pictures. And then he goes, she's going to hate that. Which I'm really glad he didn't do it
Starting point is 00:10:14 because the first 30 minutes was me crying and saying, what are you doing over and over and over again? And then once I calm the fuck down, he goes, can I give me my speech? And I go, oh my God, yeah, sorry. You just talking. Oh, my God, shut the fuck up for once, me to me. And then he did, and it was amazing and beautiful. I couldn't even look at it for, like, at least an hour. I was, like, going like this.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Every time I looked at it, it made me have a panic attack. Right. In a good way. Right. Not derogatory. What about you? That's good. So I had this whole plan.
Starting point is 00:10:44 It was an eight-year anniversary. Which is crazy. We're twins. I know. That's what I'm saying. And so we went to Rome. I love history. Like, my, my, my, my, my,
Starting point is 00:10:54 girl she loves like the beach I like the beach like I mean if she we could go to the beach and stay there the whole week sun up the sun down I mean you got three hours out of me I know like we're just on the ground and that's enough yeah and my back hurts exactly so I was like so for our seventh year I was like yo no beaches next year and so I had always told I was like you know funny enough when we started dating I was like I think I want to get married around 26. I don't know why that was the age. I just feel like that's just more of a grown age,
Starting point is 00:11:27 especially when I, we met when I was 17, so I was like 26. That's more light years away. And so she'd always known, like, 26 was the number. I'm 25 right now. And so we go to Rome, and I don't know, like two days before the Rome trip. So I'd plan this month and I had told her parents. Like, you know, I got the blessings from her mom, her dad, and her grandparents.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Because, like, that's just what she wanted. So I was like, whatever you want, I'm going to do. I need this yes. Whatever you want, I got you. And two days before the trip, I'm just, I'm looking up spots to like propose. And it's just the same couple of spots on these videos. And I was like, wait a second, this is going to be a proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower situation. I was like, I don't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Yeah. Anybody that's proposed for the Eiffel Tower, good on you. I hope your marriage is great. I didn't want to do that. No, there's people around too. That too. And so, and then I was realizing like, you know, we, I mean, we're not wrong. We don't go to Rome.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Rome is cool. For real. Like, you know, like, it was just this, it's not home. It's not where we met. It's not where we fell in love. It's not where we went through our goods and our bad. So like two days before, it's like three in the morning. I can't sleep.
Starting point is 00:12:40 And I'm outside on our patio and I'm just like, I'm not going to do it in Rome. So the next day I call her parents and I'm like, hey, I'm not doing it wrong, but I'm doing it. I swear. Don't worry. Don't worry. I'm doing it. Yeah. And so, and I felt like she was going to know.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Like there was going to be some part of her. Like, we're in Rome. We're in a very beautiful historic city. Like, this is probably where he's going to do it. Right. And so I didn't do it there. And so my mom loves family pictures. She's loved this as I was a kid.
Starting point is 00:13:07 We do like two family pictures a year just because she likes it. I don't really get it, but whatever. Yeah. And so I'm like, yo, my mom wants us to do family pictures. She wants you in this one. Yeah. So that was very under the radar. She knew that was a normal thing.
Starting point is 00:13:22 It was great. Smart. I was like, it's weird. She, like, has, like, a whole venue. She has a photographer this time. So I was like, it's going to be fun. My girl's like, okay. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:13:33 I got your ass. And so I get the fit. And I was like, this is what she wants you to wear. And then my mom's in on it. I call her. I was like, this is what we're wearing. She's like, you guys look great. And so I come downstairs in my fit.
Starting point is 00:13:46 And she's like, she's looking at it. She goes, yeah, I can tell your mom dressed you. Hey, you're going to feel real bad about that after a couple hours. I go, what? She goes, you look good, you just would never wear that. Well, this is going to be forever cemented into our lives. So that's what so. But you like it.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Yeah, right. She's like, yeah, I like it. I love it. And so that day, so we get there, and my main fear was just like somehow it getting ruined. Right. Like none of our family and our friends were going to ruin it. We didn't tell her grandma because her grandma was going to, like, ruin it. She's going to take her out to, like, breakfast and be like,
Starting point is 00:14:26 so if Tony proposed, how would you feel it? Like, her grandma did not know till the day of. And so we get there, and I had it all plan with the photographer. I was like, so we're going to get there, and I'm going to tell you that my mom's running late, and then you're going to go, all right, let's just get some pictures of you guys. It's a good thing about my girl doesn't know, like, what photographers really do because photographers don't just hand out free pictures. Like, brother, I'm here to get paid.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Like, I don't care about shooting your girl. And so we get there and my last fear was we were going to get there. Because it was like this, it was this really beautiful kind of like garden. And I was scared that one of the people that we checked in with were going to go, oh, for the engagement. Is that what you guys are here for? Because I was like, whoever was across. You're just so paranoid.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And so my girl is like, are you okay? And I'm like, yeah, my mom's just stressing me out. Like. Yeah, my fucking mom, dude. My mom is stressful during picture days. So we get there and we're talking to the photographer and I'm like and he goes, I go, oh, we should just take a couple of pictures. And she goes, I wish you probably wait to your mom gets here. Yo, Alyssa, get on me to go through these photos.
Starting point is 00:15:35 And if you insist on it, she'd be like, why do you want to take this damn picture so bad? She was like, okay, we'll take it. But it was hilarious because I got these like dress pants on. And they were like the fancy ones. We're like the cloth just kind of drapes over you. And I have this like, it's like like, a gun. And so it's like, I have like my hand in one pocket trying to cover the ring box.
Starting point is 00:15:57 And then there were these, so we're overlooking this like pavilion. And there were these green birds in Rome that she really loved. Like Rome has these like green parrots. Now at McDonald's a McDonald's a McDouble is 250. So you can get your gym gains on or just get lunch. For only 250. Get more value on the under $3 menu. Limit time only.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Prices and participation. price is made higher for delivery. And I go, that looks like those green parrots in Rome. And she goes, really? And got your fucking ass again. But like, she was really looking for these birds. She's like, I don't know, I don't see it. And she goes, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:16:39 She turns around, what are you doing? Same thing? And I go, like, I didn't say about it. I thought. I'm like, what do you know, I'm supposed to go, you know, Prince Charming. It's supposed to be the moment. Like, what do you mean? And she's like, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:16:50 She's tweaking for a little bit. Like, she was so shocked she didn't even cry, which would surprise. She cried like in the car ride after. Yeah. I mean, boo-hoeing. But she goes, I'm a fiance. And he's like, is this real? And I was like, yeah, it's real.
Starting point is 00:17:05 And so, like, that was the only way I could have had the, like, the filming process. We ever filmed. But, like, the internet will never see the lot of day. I hate you guys. Like, y'all, I never, I never seen that. It's for us and our kids. That's how I feel, too, about. it too but that was the only way i could have a photographer there where it made sense
Starting point is 00:17:21 or bro was going to be in the bushes no that's really so it worked out and it was like a really cool moment and i don't know if you saw the pictures because i had posted like the engaging pictures i sure did that ring is beautiful thank you i appreciate i designed it i know i can tell and so um i for my girl butterflies are very like uh spiritual to her like love like uh you know her her her great aunt who passed away like she loved butterflies and so whenever she sees a butterfly She thinks of her and then our friend had passed away. So it was the same thing like butterfly. She's always had a thing with butterflies.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Yeah. And no bullshit. I'm getting goosebumps. Like the second she said yes and I stood up and we hugged, I backed up from her, a butterfly lands on her. Oh, that's so sweet. And so I'm over here like, ah, they're watching. Like somebody's watching us.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I love that. And so that gave me chills. Yeah, I know, right? And so the photographer's out, I'm like, yo, my man, get this photo. Yeah. And so everybody's like, did he pay a butterfly to like be there? And I'm like, yeah, it was just how. happened that's the spirit but it was uh it was super nerve-racking and she was like
Starting point is 00:18:22 i could tell something was wrong with you like you just felt so stressed and like so like just on edge yeah and i was like well this was one of the most stressful moments in my life i'm pulling off a heist and i was like so i'm asking her i was like what's your like how is your experience with this because it's like you don't know yeah so it's like to you it's like you're chilling like i have been on edge for the past two months like i like i had the ring in our friend's house because I was scared she was going to find it so I was like this the ring hasn't even seen our home yet yeah yeah and she was like I was just I knew you were stressed but I thought it was because of your mom so I told mom was that to meet you man but it was but I mean she said yes
Starting point is 00:19:02 and the only the only slight problem is my brother's deployed and so he's going to be my best man and so he won't be back to 27 so we'll be engaged a little longer than we wanted to but that's okay though because you'll have lots of time then to plan yeah Which is nice. And she really wants it. Actually, I want it, too, to be on our anniversary. Yeah. So just keep one anniversary day.
Starting point is 00:19:23 That's too. And so. I know. I'm getting mine, I'm getting mine as close to it as I can. It's tough. It's hard. Yeah. Especially if it's on a weekday.
Starting point is 00:19:31 I know. I said that. I was like, yeah, like, it's going to be on a Friday or Thursday. And everybody was like, a Thursday. Are you stupid? You're going to get married on a Thursday. Nice. It's like, it's like, damn, brother.
Starting point is 00:19:42 The money's good. It doesn't matter what day it is. Check clears regardless. So it doesn't matter. But I think that everything's a blessing in the sky. So if it's going to take a little longer, we'll just be a little less stressed out for the wedding. I think so. It'll be, you know.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Absolutely. I think that's so fun. How sweet. Look at us, man. Look at us. What are we adults? We're old as fuck, dude. Getting married?
Starting point is 00:20:05 And the same thing with my, my fiancee was really, my man, he was really smart too because the year before he proposed to me for my birthday, he got me a ring. specifically he told me it was specifically for my wedding stack so like these are two different rings and this one he gave to me on my birthday yeah yeah yeah of course oh that's a rock i know i know a lot of i was like yeah he did a good job i got my nails done the other day um and the woman like i got a pedicure and the woman was doing my thing and she goes is that new to my ring which i don't go to that place nearly enough for her to remember me so i don't think she did and i was like, oh yeah, I mean, I recently got engaged. I got engaged last year. And she was like, that's
Starting point is 00:20:46 really big. And I go, yeah, she goes, what does he do for work? And I go, he's a certified personal trainer. And she goes, and he got you that? Yeah, are we going to fight? I said, hey, you have a problem? And then I literally told her, I go, yeah, can you believe it? And she goes, nice, nice. That's it. She didn't talk to me the rest of the time. All right. See, as a guy, it's like, oh, you're getting engaged. That's what's up, man. That's it, that's it.
Starting point is 00:21:19 You don't follow us. Yeah, it's like, that's just the story of dudes. Like, my close homies, they all knew because, like, you know, those are my brothers. But every, like, like, it's such a different thing. Like, I'm walking out in public. And like, like, girls that know my content, they're like, oh, my God, I'm so happy. Yeah. And dudes are like, yo, heard you getting engaged, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Shouts out. Thanks, man. Bye. Thank you. Appreciate that. Even now when I, but when he got me this ring, it was to get my sizing, like my accurate sizing. And he was like, it's smaller than the other rings I've gotten you. And I was like, okay.
Starting point is 00:21:54 So I put it on. I was like, no, it fits perfect. And he was like, okay, perfect. Yeah. My girl told me, so like, first of all, I'm 30 pounds down since the last podcast. Okay. Me and my girl got on like a health journey. Nice.
Starting point is 00:22:08 So we both lost weight. So I'm trying to like discreetly go. What is her ring size? There's no easy way to ask that. She's like, it's a six. And I was like, okay, but are you sure? She's like, yeah, it's a six. I go bet.
Starting point is 00:22:20 She's not a six. She's maybe a four or five because, like, we lost weight, but that was the last time she really, like, got a ring size. And so. Damn, she's smaller than a six. Yeah, I don't know what ring sizes. I just know that. No, no, there is smaller than a six, but six is small to me.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Yeah. Yeah. And so, yeah, she's a little dainty. Yeah, she's a little dainty. But, uh, so. everything's working out and she's like oh my god the ring's going up and down i'm like oh god and like and like the jeweler was like yo make sure this is this fits and i'm like this is what she told me we're trust me it'll fit and so and so we're now like we got to like talk to the jeweler and have a resize
Starting point is 00:23:00 but i mean that's the only problem that comes from engagement i'm okay with that especially because it was so beautifully built yeah i feels like my my fiancee was like i wanted it to look like you yeah So I feel like her ring looks like her, which I think is so too. Which is crazy. It's like a lot of people when they like when I posted the pictures, they were like, I could just tell he got this for her. And I was like, well, you're right. I mean, I was looking at the ring websites, like the famous ones. And I was like this just kind of looks like a, I don't know, it's impersonal.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Yeah. It's like cold. Exactly. And so I was like, I don't know, I want to do something else. My whole goal was to make her ring look like a tiara. I get like and so I didn't know about the whole engagement ring and like wedding ring I was like yeah you got one you got one out of me I don't know who made this
Starting point is 00:23:49 this is more than enough I don't know who made this two ring rule up like that's capitalism right there like this is love you get one I get two you know what's crazy I don't even have mine we keep forgetting to get mine yeah I forgot to get mine you know what's nuts about my fiancee his hand on this hand the left hand specifically his three middle fingers, including the ring finger, are permanently bent up like this because of football. It's been like this forever, like literally for probably over 10 years. And so nothing, like his knuckles are literally this big.
Starting point is 00:24:20 They're so fat. So they got to get past the knuckles. Yeah. So he was like, maybe I'll just tattoo it. I go, you're funny. What we're going to do is break those fingers, reset them, and then you'll get your wedding ring. And he was like, he's like, I don't want to break them.
Starting point is 00:24:34 And it's not even because he doesn't want to wear a ring. it's literally because he's just, he likes how his fingers are. Yeah, it's cool. I was thinking, that's kind of cool. I'm a dude. I'm pissed off because he's going to be like, I told you because he's like attached to them.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Like he was like, no, it's fine. Like they're just like, and his whole hand is like this. I don't know how he does anything. It's kind of cool. War stories. You know,
Starting point is 00:25:00 like that's how I felt like when I got hit by that car, I got this scar. I was like, yeah, I got hit by a car survived. And you could see it right here. The whole time I was on the scooter, the Tesla like tap me. I'm so pissed off. You said that.
Starting point is 00:25:15 He's going to be like, I told you, I told you. Or he was saying, I'll get one with like a latch and I'm all. What are you nuts? I would lose that. I would lose that. What are you talking about latch? Yeah. What are we?
Starting point is 00:25:26 Blue collar workers? Blue collar coworkers? You got to get the elastic one. Yeah. That's what I was like, no. No, actually, no. You know, for this episode, you know how YouTube. has like the the time stamps like you skip to it like this whole time stamp is going to be if you're
Starting point is 00:25:41 single skip it you won't give a fuck about this but i promise okay let's circle back to work yeah yeah just being professional clowns for a living exactly how's work going for you it's crazy it's been nuts for you i bet i'm in this whole new like i feel like i'm forcing like rebirth all the time like i like i feel like i have this just fear like if you're not trying you're dying right and so with content, I've realized, okay, like, I've operated at the highest level as a content creator. Like, you're lucky if you get to make it as a content creator. You're even luckier if you can do more things. Like, do anything past it, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:22 So, uh, shout out to you. Um, and so, like, I've always known I can, I can make these funny jokes, but I've always had ideas of stories. So I'm writing this, um, I'm writing this show. I was actually writing it right before this episode. And I can't. figure out the problem to progress the plot. T.
Starting point is 00:26:40 So like the whole Uber ride here, I'm just, you're in the think tank. I'm like, I'm kind of pissed. I'm like, I can't figure this out. I got to do this podcast. But you're a really great host, so it's like, I'm already having fun. T. But it's like, it's such a different. And I'm sure you know this because like we get on our phones and, hey, guys, this is that
Starting point is 00:26:58 in the third post, million views. Yeah. You know. Yeah. It is a million views. Don't get mad at me. Sorry. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:04 We're like that. Hey, don't hate the player. You know what I mean? So it's just, I'm sure you can get this with your book. Like it's so different because it's like you're in the lab. Yeah, totally. For so long and you're trying to get like, how do you feel about this or like trying to get constructive criticism? Right.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Then like the part that I haven't got to obviously is like the putting it out part. But it's a there's no instant gratification. Right. But that's kind of better because it's like, you know, when you put out a book or you put out a show, it could be consumed for years. Yeah, totally. It'll even live past you. Totally. And so that's the thing that I'm really trying to wrap my head around.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Like, no more quick like, shares, comments. It's you're like in a dark room typing away. Like I'm starting to hate that, the line. The line that just posts is waiting for you to write. I'm like, oh, my God, bro. But I know I would just want to keep going. And I think that like the progression of the content that I make is a show or a movie. Maybe acting.
Starting point is 00:28:04 I just don't know. I feel like you should try acting. honestly. I'll try it, but I'm like, I'm kind of like a pessimist until I do it. I'm like, I wouldn't want to do that. And then I'm like super in love with it when I do it. I'm like, oh my God, this is amazing. Right. And so my girl, my girls. And you've been in commercials. Yeah, I have. I mean, yeah. But like with the commercials I've been in, I've, I've wrote it. Like I've helped write the script. Exactly. And so, and that's another thing I've always, like, I don't want to cut my hair for a role. I'm very attached to it the way I look. Same. And so it's like, oh, we have this crazy
Starting point is 00:28:35 role for the new Avengers. shave your head. You got to be bald, though. Yeah, bro. Unless I'm playing Tony Stark. I don't know about that, man. But so I'll try, I'll definitely try it. I want to try everything before I go.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Yeah. And so right now I'll try this writing, and I'll try some acting, but I think I like seeing the story put together more than I would like putting it together as an actor. I see. So, like, I'd love to write in it versus being like spearing it, I guess you should say. And when you.
Starting point is 00:29:07 you're in comedy, it's very secular. It's like, no, I want to be me because I'm telling the jokes. So it's like if I'm somebody else, I have to act like somebody else. Right. But myself is how I got here. Totally. And so it's just weird like, like you can't be yourself because you're playing a part. But I mean, I don't know. I'm here for the ride and I feel like, and this goes for like a lot of people who are trying different things. If you walk in the direction, you may not get to where you thought you were going to go. Right. But you'll go to. to another destination. Right, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:29:38 And like, it'll, moving forward. Yeah, it'll follow, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, energy will follow you and you'll, it's like, maybe you wanted to write a show. You didn't write the show, but you became an actor on the show. Right. It's like, well, I moved forward and I got that. So, like, I think, um, once you are successful in something,
Starting point is 00:29:56 you will learn that, okay, everything takes time. And if I was able to talk to myself, like, imagine, when did you start making content? Like, for realsies, I'd probably say 20, 2020, And you were how old? 26, I think, 25, 26. So imagine if you, like, you could go back in time right now to your 26-year-old self. Who's like, is the content worth it? Is this something I even really want to do?
Starting point is 00:30:21 And you're like, yo, keep doing it. You're going to be gravy by the time you get to my age. Yeah, totally. And so, like, I think about that, like, if I could break that time barrier, my future self would be like, bro, you're good. Yeah. Relax. Absolutely. And so, like, even though I.
Starting point is 00:30:37 can't have him tell me that, I believe that. Yeah, totally. So that regulates my moods throughout the day life. You're manifesting. Exactly. Absolutely. Because you did this. And it was like, this felt impossible at one point, too, I'm sure. It did to me, too. I get what you mean, though, about being almost re-inspired. Because you and I, obviously, it blew up on TikTok, but like, at the same time, we also... You said this place was steps from the water. We just haven't found the steps yet. How much did we save? Enough.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Enough to get lost. Or you could book a stay with Hilton. Welcome to your ocean front room. Just steps from the water. The Hilton sale is on now. Book on Hilton.com or the Hilton app and save up to 20% to get the stay you expected. When you want savings, not surprises.
Starting point is 00:31:27 It matters where you stay. Hilton for the stay. We've been known for being funny and mine is very specific. Yours is pretty more general, I would say. But like we're known for being funny, which is cool. But like for me doing other projects outside of that, it's like helping fill my cup again.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Outside of comedy or outside of content? Outside of content specifically. And even comedy, like, you know, I do enjoy being funny. I do enjoy entertaining. But there are other things I really love to do too that are not so late. More serious. Yeah, like I have like, I've had meetings, a ton of meetings lately about,
Starting point is 00:32:00 I have a documentary idea. I've had for a while that has nothing to do with me, but it is something I feel very passionate about. And then obviously my book, but my book had to do with me too to an extent, but I am writing another book that's not having anything to do with me. It's fiction. What? No way.
Starting point is 00:32:17 That's fire. I always wanted to do that too. Yeah, I'm doing fiction. I think you would be wonderful at it because you love anime. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think like I'm doing fiction fantasy. Would you make it a movie? I guess that's like step 10, but.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Hell yeah, bitch. I literally said that. I call it. my Lynn Manuel Miranda playing because then I'm like I'm going to unfold it. I'm going to write it. I'm going to sell it. And then I'm going to say you can have it. You just got to cast me. I'm a huge part of it. Right, right. I am principal cast. Unfortunately, I come with it. No, I can't sing. That's kind of my vibe for that. But doing the other book is like refilling my cup. Like, it's really re-inspiring me in a different way. So I get what you mean. Like you, you're like,
Starting point is 00:32:58 okay, I did this. And I have so much more I want to do too. So like, It's kind of expanding into other mediums is giving you the chance to do that, which is awesome. Do you have the problem of like wanting to do everything and don't know which road to take? Yeah, absolutely. Like, bro, that's so. I want to do music so bad, can't sing, can't play an instrument. You know what I decided? DJ.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Really? Yeah. So I got a bunch of DJ stuff for Christmas last year. And I've been working on it. That's fire. I'm trash right now, but just give me a couple months. I always said I'll see you in that Sahara tent. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:28 On my headline. What's called Burning Man? Yeah. Oh, bitch. coming for Diplo's neck, sorry. I'm like, and one of my friends asked me like, oh, if you're going to DJ, like, who's the audience? Like, who are you looking for?
Starting point is 00:33:39 I said, the horse. Yeah, yeah. Nobody shakes ass anymore. Yeah. The club is dead. We used to have, like, crazy mashups. That's what I'm saying. And so, like, that's kind of gone.
Starting point is 00:33:47 I mean, I'm not too versed in DJ culture. You know what I mean? Some DJs are watching this mad as hell. Sorry, my dad. From when I go out, it's like, it's like the hottest songs out right now. Some of them are good. It's either that or like throwbacks. And I can always appreciate throwbacks.
Starting point is 00:34:05 But like, bro, like dancing music. That's what I'm saying. And then I saw Tyler the Creator when his new album came out. I saw him say that when he played it, he had no phones like for the first time. But he said he wanted it. He wanted people to dance. Don't come if you're not dancing. That's what he said.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I wanted people to fucking dance. Because he said the club is dead. And you're so tea for that. You're so right. So that's why I was like, I want to DJ for people like that. People who want to shake their ass. That's what I want to do. Especially because when I was in college.
Starting point is 00:34:31 that was like all I did like going to the club and stuff so fun you went to college yeah dork I quit I sure did barely made it out I sure did just kidding I was a really good student honestly what's crazy that was a good student too I like I I both I think I was we talked about it last time like I did all these AP and honors classes and they were like yeah it doesn't matter you still got to retake these classes and I was like I got the college credit right and they were like well you'll graduate with extra credits hey do you I want to punch you in the chest. Like, these don't exist.
Starting point is 00:35:04 For who? Yeah. Like, exactly. I don't keep, I can't put this in my pocket and walk away with it. Right. And so, well,
Starting point is 00:35:11 I mean, I graduated from college, but, um, ask me if I'm using that now. Yeah. Just kidding. I mean,
Starting point is 00:35:16 I am kind of because I, who was your major? Journalism and communications. Oh, well. So I learned how to talk in front of a camera and edit. Yeah. But the way I learned how to talk in front of a camera,
Starting point is 00:35:24 like I've said before, if you go back and look at my old, old videos from like years ago, my voice sounds a lot higher. Yep. And it's because my I was like holding that pitch that I learned in journalism school, which was like, I will say it's kind of one of my teachers' fault because she told me my voice is so deep it would be more appealing if I spoke in a higher like tone, which go fuck yourself. But also, but I did. And now when I watch my old videos, I'm like I sound like Mickey Mouse. Yeah. That shit's embarrassing. Mine is more like the enunciation. Because like in the South like, you know, we'll slur words or just, you know, like yeen, ee, you know, like, yin, e, stuff like that. And so like if you listen to my old videos, like sometimes I'm like, what am I saying? And I'm like, so like I, you got to remember when you're doing this is like you have to appeal to everybody at least a little bit.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Yeah. And so like my enunciation has gotten way better. And we know who we're talking about. Yeah. White people. Yeah. Yeah. They have to like us.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Unfortunately. Yeah, they do. They have to be able to digest our content to some extent. It's true. You know what's crazy is I really got that like, oh, I got, oh, I got to do. do some white people jokes like because like you know i've lived in the south i've lived in like a predominantly black neighborhood my whole life my sister's black i've just been surrounded by culture like my whole life yeah and then so i had it's obvious i don't know if it's obvious no way right
Starting point is 00:36:44 and now it's time for finding comfort in the chaos brought to you by amazon you experience so many first in college the first time you have to cook for yourself the first time you have to make friends as an adult the first time no one's reminding you to finish your homework it can feel like total chaos, but every first is an opportunity to learn which you need to succeed. And thanks to Amazon, comfort is never far away. For me, one of my must-haves for my college dorm was, in fact, a microwave. I needed that thing desperately. You can cook anything in a microwave, including brownies or cookies. Look it up. But it saved my behind when I was in college, so I know y'all will really want to have one in your dorm too.
Starting point is 00:37:31 So I know y'all will need a microwave and you can find a great one on Amazon. Remember that the chaos of college is inevitable. As much as you prepare, there will always be first that take you by surprise, but that's what it's really all about, embracing those formative experiences and learning from them. With Amazon's great deals and everyday low prices, you can find comfort in the chaos. Shop off to college at Amazon. Save on college. Save the every.
Starting point is 00:37:56 day. And so I was, it was this one time I didn't have a joke idea and I was like really pissed off about it. But I do know how the music industry works because I've done so many jokes about music that the artists I've made jokes about have invited me to studio sessions and stuff like that. So I've learned about stuff like that and the, what's the word I'm looking for? The promotional aspect like rollouts. Right. And so at the time it was espresso. What's her name? Sabrina Carpenter. Espresso. What's espresso's name?
Starting point is 00:38:29 Cappuccino, I don't know. But she was blowing up because she would go into a different city and have like a sexual like bar for that city. Yeah. She would rhyme like whatever the song was. Yes, I don't you mean, yeah. And so I'm scrolling and I see it. And I'm like, this is weird because this was before espresso and I'm not too well versed on
Starting point is 00:38:49 Sabrina Carpenter either. Right. But it was like a montage for doing it. And the video had like three million likes. Okay. Now, views like, so I was like, there's a market here. Maybe I'm not a part of the market. Why people are eating this up?
Starting point is 00:39:04 I may need to look into it. And so I made the joke, keep in mind, at the time, and I still think to this day, I've never really heard a full Sabrina Carpenter song. Show me music for me. It's fine. That's what's up. You're right. And so I made a joke about, like, how she did it.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Like, my joke was like, I was like, I'm in Niagara Falls with big balls. Like, just a funny-ass shit. That shit ended up getting like seven million views. Never heard a Sabrina Carpenter song. I know it from Girl Meets World. Like, you know what I mean? And so I was like, oh, I'm about to tap in with the collared shirts and the golfers. Do you tap into Taylor Swift?
Starting point is 00:39:41 Mm-mm. I said there's a huge one there. Actually, actually, yeah, I did. I did a joke about if Taylor Swift was a dude. She made the same exact songs. The songs are kind of creepy. This song that, the, you belong, you belong with me. And I was like, if a dude's saying that, yo, bro, he's getting locked up.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Like, you're right, because, uh, because when women do it, it's okay. Yeah. But it's like, I gave you the past. It's okay. It's okay when you do it. They can't do anything, but you can do it. I'm hearing the lyrics, she wears short skirts. I wear t-shirts.
Starting point is 00:40:17 And I'm like, ah, I, right. What's wrong with short skirts? Bro, like, you know what I mean? No, I know. It's a very picnic song. Yeah. It's a very internalized. misogyny song.
Starting point is 00:40:27 And so I was like, you know, if the dude made this, bro, he's getting, he's going to be in the next Drewski skit. Like, it's a rap. Like, can I tell you the,
Starting point is 00:40:34 the thing I've been seeing lately where people are like, I think Drewski's going to do this next. I've been seeing the 40 and under, like football teams. Have you been seeing those videos on TikTok lately? Of like what Drewski's going to do? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:40:46 like they're basically in the comments. They're saying, this is going to be Drewski's next thing. Oh, I know what you're talking about. And it's the videos of men who are like in their mid-30s and they're playing tackle football. My man and
Starting point is 00:40:56 I, okay, you and I can connect on this because unfortunately my audience, they do not fuck with sports like at all. And that is unfortunately the straightest, most man part of my brain is sports humor specifically. And I was like laughing my ass off with my fiance yesterday about it. wearing pads that don't fit. Yeah. And they had that 360 camera they have in like the Times Square like going around them and they're like media day. And someone said imagine they show up late for work and they're like, sorry, I was at Media Day for their tackle football team and they're 38. They tweet to like
Starting point is 00:41:31 four followers, locked in. I was just watching and I was like, I can't believe, I was like telling my fiance, I was like, honestly, I think the reason why I find it so funny and pathetic when men play football at that age and then take it that seriously is because
Starting point is 00:41:49 football is literally just like the biggest, the fastest, the strongest. And it's none of y'all. No, and they want to be the biggest, the fastest, the strongest that's as close as they can get. You can't even do indoor. Yeah, there's a reason football players, like, aren't 40. Yeah, like what to fuck? That's why.
Starting point is 00:42:05 They could never make it. Like, only, only, uh, quarterbacks. Quarterbacks. Yeah. Only quarterbacks can age because they don't get hit. They get hit the least. Yeah, exactly. That's why baseball players can grow up to be fat and old.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Yeah. Because they're just running. There's no tackling. And then the peak of their sport. Like, yeah, yeah. They just got done scarfing on two hot dogs. You know what I mean? Like.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Smoking. cigars at the plate. It used to be hard drugs that they were doing back in the day. So it's like they switched from that to unhealthy diets. Like, all right, fire. And they're hitting it out to park. Wait, back to, I want to circle back to work really quick. Because I know you said you would love to do something fiction.
Starting point is 00:42:42 What would you like to do? I feel like you could do an enemy. I have a, I have a mythology. It's not a book, but it's a movie. It's a horror movie. I love that. Oh, because you love the Percy Jackson books. That's one of the fun facts.
Starting point is 00:42:55 She knows her stuff. What a fun fact about you. You're a huge fan of the Percy Jackson book series. Percy Jackson saved my life. Yeah, I don't understand, but that's my older brother. I'm the oldest. And I was going through like, my childhood wasn't the best. And I opened a book and escape.
Starting point is 00:43:11 And I was like, if Percy's battling the God of war, you know what I mean? We could fight this homelessness, mom. And so I actually met Rick Ryden. This was before any content. And I was like, I don't know, like 17, and he had just came out with a book and I'm just there. Did you sign it even though your name's on it already? I still have the book. That's so sweet.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And so it's like that like, and he's got ADHD, which is a big because it's like I as a kid. Like, first of all, you got foreign parents. They don't believe in that shit anyway. You're just a little loud. It's like, I don't know. I don't think I'm just a little loud. I can't think like literally. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:48 And so that was really cool because Rick Ryden's son has ADHD and dyslexia. That's what he incorporated in all the demigods, they all have this. And so I was just in there, and I was like, it's obvious. I'm the son of Poseidon. I mean, this is all the signs. Like, this is me. And so that got me into just so many other stories and reading. And then anime, like, I always tell people this, like, if you, if you don't tap into anime because it's animated.
Starting point is 00:44:16 And I can understand as Americans, like, when you think of animation, you think of cartoon. Right. Watch some attack on time. And tell me that's the same as Adventure Time. Like, bro, like. And Adventure Time's awesome. It's great. What are y'all talking about?
Starting point is 00:44:30 But I don't know. I feel like, I feel like people are like, oh, I'm older, so I can't watch that stuff. And I'm like, yeah, you're missing out on some of the best stories. Wishing you could be there live for the big game, soaking up the atmosphere in the crowd. But too often, life gets busy. Or the price holds you back. Price Line is here to help you make it happy. Download the Priceline app or visit Priceline.com. Actual prices may vary, limited time offer. I don't know. I don't know what's going on in Japan. I don't know what they're cooking up over there.
Starting point is 00:45:14 I actually have a theory. Like, because, you know, Japan, have ever been in Japan? No, I haven't. So, like, it's very, it's very structured. Yeah. You know, like the saying is, like, like nails that stick out get hammered down and so and like by the way 10th Japanese people I don't know if I'm out of my range talking about this but like I feel like when you when somebody is
Starting point is 00:45:33 locked into something societally personally emotionally right they tend to do things like like you know that's I feel like that's where creation comes from so I'm like okay if you think about Japan it's very structured it's very there's so many rules societally you have to follow like if your boss ask you like go out for a drink like it's rude if you say now yeah yeah imagine if your boss asked you to go my man like you're saying no i'll see you next i'll see you tomorrow at night hopefully i might call out and even that's a maybe and so i'm like like because i was thinking like what is it about this island where these people are coming up with the best stories and masochem and i just wonder because i'm trying to i'm trying to understand people more as somebody who's
Starting point is 00:46:15 writing what makes people tick like what makes us have grit what makes us have creativity yeah and i wonder if it's like if you sanctioned people in a way where it's like we have to follow of these rules, the only way they can break out is like mentally. So it's like, what if that's where all these stories come from? That's how they get creative. Exactly. Because it's the same thing like when someone goes through a traumatic experience, like you're encased in that.
Starting point is 00:46:33 Like that never leaves you. Right. But it's like in a way you can write yourself out of that with a story. You can express your emotion that way. And so I just wonder like if that has any correlation. And so I've been putting myself in that thought process for if I want to write a character, like what makes them tick? But then I realize like, okay, well, what makes them?
Starting point is 00:46:53 It makes me tick. Yeah, totally. Like what makes, and I'm like, since you have had success, you know it's like, no matter what anybody else says, I'm just gonna get the shit done. You're right. And so I've always wondered like why other people who don't have that mentality and they kind of give up on themselves prematurely. There's a lot of talent out here.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Right. It's just people give up on themselves. So I wonder what it is that makes me not give up on myself and makes the next person who has just as much talent. Yeah. I just can't do it. I think it's just a fear of being perceived, to be honest. Like, it's fear of rejection in a lot of ways.
Starting point is 00:47:29 It's like, if I do it and I fail, then I'm, that's embarrassing. Which, like, the only way to find out is to do it first of all. Even, like, I had Robbie Hoffman on when she was on, she's longstanding comic. She's an actress. Like, she's doing it all. She even, I asked her, like, do you have any advice for anyone who's, like, aspiring artist? She goes, if you're asking me, you're not meant for it. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Like, she was like, that's it. That's it. That's it. You have doubt. Don't do it. And she's like, were you sitting? around asking yourself, oh, I wonder if I can be a TikTok star. And I was like, no.
Starting point is 00:47:57 And she goes, right, you just did it. So she was saying, that's what I think the differentiator is, is like, you and I aren't afraid to put ourselves out there because whatever's on the other side, clearly it's worked out for us, right? So, like, thank God we did. But I think what stops people is that, is fear of embarrassment. And that's why the two things I hate, especially being in this field, is like, one, you get to a point where you stop becoming the people.
Starting point is 00:48:23 was champ and it's like you people develop a separation like that's easy for you to say Drew yeah as if I wasn't yeah yeah like too long ago exactly I'm not a nepo baby I'm trying to create nepo babies but I'm not one oh my god literally someone called me a nepo baby the other day I forget I call your mom and dad yeah I was like I would be the worst nepo like oh no they called me an industry plant yeah it was no they picked the worst bitch if they picked me yeah I'm annoying confrontational what industry do you think exists yeah what the fuck what am I infiltrating exactly that's why I agree with you though and I think like that's the the biggest difference between I think who succeeds and who doesn't because
Starting point is 00:49:07 you and I did we did it for the love of the game yeah and the game alone for how fucking long I wasn't making jack shit off content for years for years for so long and you know that was before TikTok raised that CPM and started paying for real yeah Because when I was hitting 8, 9 million, every video I posted every day, I get like 20 bucks off that shit. Now I could clock way more than that. You make videos over a minute long. I don't. Like I do it now, but like, now I do.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Yeah. But I mean, what's hilarious is people to understand TikTok is what I get paid the least on. Same. Like, y'all don't get it. You know what I mean? But the two things that I've always hated is that separation between people's champ and like, like, oh, well, it's easy for you to say because now you're, you're gone you're not a regular person anymore you're crazy and the second thing is those be the not those specific people but when people give up on themselves and they're afraid of being perceived
Starting point is 00:50:03 and stuff they're also the first ones to like shit on your thing yeah totally like it's like oh this like damn you could have got your hair done before the video or i don't know the video starts a little like the video's kind of boring not that funny i don't realize like bro if somebody made a video and somebody was like this ain't that funny like bro they delete their phone. Yeah, hello. Yeah, bro, like, they would throw their phone away. And I'm like, and like, that's the thing is like, you have to believe in yourself to the point
Starting point is 00:50:31 where it's like, yo, like, bro, even my mom was kicked me out when I, when I started doing this shit. I feel her. She's from a different country. She's from a different time. Like, I understand why you did it. But it's like, I had to go so far against the grain where it's like, you really only have you and yourself.
Starting point is 00:50:46 And like, we have partners. But even with them, as much as they can understand, it's like, Like, there's still a separation because it's like, y'all aren't content creators. It's true, yeah. It's true. Because some of the problems you encounter, like, no one can help you deal with. Like, literally nobody you know in the world can help you until you make friends doing this same shit. Like, and that's why that's one of the first things I tell people, I'm like, if they start coming up in this business really fast and they like, they just skyrocket and then we hang out.
Starting point is 00:51:14 And they ask me for advice. I go, first, are you in therapy? Second, do you have any friends in this industry specifically? Yeah. Make friends. Like be nice to people, be kind to foster connection because nobody can relate to your fucking problems anymore. And nobody gives a fuck. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I was just about to say that. Yeah. Like if I was a nurse, if I was a doctor, if I was a teacher, I wouldn't want to hear about my fucking problems. They're stupid compared to yours. Like that's why I'm like, I, you need friends who do this for a living because no one can relate and no one cares. And they shouldn't because this is a silly made up job. Yep. So like it's okay.
Starting point is 00:51:47 We need to lean on each other in that sense. that's why sometimes if I meet content creators out in the wild, and I know they don't have any, they don't have many friends. I'm like, tap in with them. Yeah, yeah, I'm like, you need, you need someone. You need someone.
Starting point is 00:52:01 My thing is, you ever been in a conversation with a content creator and they're complaining? And then they realize they're complaining because our life isn't that worth complaining about. And they're like, you know what, never mind. And I'm like, no, no, no, bro. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:12 I understand that somebody on the planet has it worse than you. That doesn't mean you can't complain to me. Right. And it's also very, invalidating to yourself. If you invalidate your own problems when you say that, which is like, again,
Starting point is 00:52:25 like there is a world in which both can exist. It's just knowing the right person to say it to you. And your comment about like if someone got a hate comment they would delete their whole shit, you're right.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Yeah. I say that constantly because now, especially now when I like do talks and stuff and they ask me, oh, I want to be a content creator or I want to build a following. The first thing I always ask is like, for what? Like, is it for free shit and money?
Starting point is 00:52:48 Because if that's the case, you're not going to make it. And everybody's doing that. Like, everybody wants free shit and everybody wants money. But you got to love, you got it. Whatever you do, you have to love it. And you have to commit to not making any money doing it. Like, if you never made another dollar, would you keep doing this?
Starting point is 00:53:03 Because the answer was yes to me when I first started, especially even now. But sometimes now I'm like, uh, can't. He bills a little hot. Maybe I should run into the forest and never come out. Sometimes it does feel like that. Yeah. But I think your comment about hate is so funny because I've told people, Do you cringe or like cave in on yourself at the thought of someone coming on your shit?
Starting point is 00:53:26 And even not even commenting on the content of your video, just saying you're ugly. Yeah. Does that bother you? Yeah. Because if it does, don't do this. Yeah. There was one comment that bothered me. Like, and I stuck with me my whole career.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Really? Somebody was like, it wasn't even like me. They were like, yo, when you look at the camera straight on, I can't see your ears. I'm like, bro, like, bro, I've been hard in the years doing that thing. And that comment has, that, so, like, if you ever notice, I'll be like, I'll be like this. What's up, y'all? You're, like, changing angles just in case. One that I've always faced is the Russ comments.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Man, I'm about to block rest, man. I'm about to block his ass. And I'll fuck with Russ. I'm like some of the Russ songs, you know what I mean? But it's like, can I be real? That would piss me off too. They said that to be about Russ. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:54:15 Like, it's like, because it's been happening for a year. You said, I'm about to block Russ. It's crazy. It's crazy because when you start out, right? Like, when you start out and no one knows you, they equate you to the thing they know the closest. She kind of reminds me of this. He kind of reminds me of this. And so mine was Russ.
Starting point is 00:54:32 Yeah. And then I was, and then I got known. And so the Russ comments died down. Yeah. I don't know what this motherfucker's going on to PR. I don't know what he's doing, but they're coming back. Sometimes I, sometimes if I see influx of certain kinds of comments, I go, who's doing something? Yeah, something's going on behind this.
Starting point is 00:54:47 Everything's happening and I need to sniff it out. Like I need to figure out where the shit's coming from. That's so funny. But like when me and Russ make that video, like, it's going to blow up. So it's like, you know, it's fine. It's fine. And I'm like way taller than him. So it's like.
Starting point is 00:55:03 So to be fair, we're taller than most people. Yeah, we are. Which is great though. I think it's great. It's kind of working against me in the acting realm. I heard that. That they like shorter people. They do.
Starting point is 00:55:15 And they like in the slate things you do when you. when you like say your height. Yeah. I'm gonna start lying. Yeah. I asked my acting coach, I said, do you think it's cool if I lie? And he said, yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:24 So if you guys see me saying I'm 5'6, mind your business. A bitch is trying to get cast, you know what I'm saying? And then I'm just going to show up Fee, five, full fun when I walk in. I mean, what's his name? The guy who does all the stunts.
Starting point is 00:55:36 I'm really bad with names. I'm noticing that. Scientology guy. Tom Cruise? Tom Cruise? I always know what you're talking about. Yeah, he's like 5'4. That's why he can do all these, like,
Starting point is 00:55:47 these starts right you know he weighs nothing so you know you take him out the crayon box and put him in the I think I told you like I last time you were here I I when I meet people in real life they're always like oh damn when you said tall you meant tall like for real and I'm like yeah obviously like I wouldn't say tall if I wasn't and so you know sometimes it's fine but like sometimes they really want to harp on how tall I really am and I'm like it's right all right okay no you're fucking gigantic. You're huge, brother. And then I said my least favorite thing that women do to me that obsessed over the height thing,
Starting point is 00:56:25 which is like, okay, whatever, when they want to take a picture with me, like they ask me for a picture, they'll stand with me. And then I said, they'll do this thing where they, sometimes they'll put their hand on my stomach. Don't hold me like I'm your man. What are we doing? Don't hold me like we're at prom. I'm tall.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I'm not. Don't do that shit to me. Like, they're like, I hate that shit. What I don't you do? My thing. Get off me. My thing is, there's two things. And it's crazy because it's like, yo, I'm still a person at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Like I know you see me on your phone, but it's like now that I'm in in front of you, how could you think to say this? They're like, yo, bro, I thought you were real short and fat. Oh, no. Yeah, bro, love your videos. Can we get a picture? No. Oh my God. I'm insecure now.
Starting point is 00:57:09 Bro, like no, dude. Leave me alone. I actually don't. No, actually don't want to do that at all. Thank you though. Immediately before the picture. you start doing the fucking shirt lift you know what I mean yeah my version of that is you're actually way prettier in person that I thought ah you're actually like way prettier than I thought and like
Starting point is 00:57:26 women are usually saying yes that's not like a man thing no of course not it's always women they're like you're like way pretty than I thought you're way ugly than I thought yeah like start responding with that yeah I guess the I guess the opposite would be worse but I just think all of it's an insult just generally okay wait I have some fun facts about you okay all about me awesome yes about you okay this one says Well, you kind of already mentioned this. Well, obviously we talked about you getting engaged this past July. Yes.
Starting point is 00:57:50 This one says last summer you got hit by a Tesla in L.A. while riding a scooter to a dispensary. Right. Shouts out, Elon. Lots of key buzzwords in there. Yeah, I know, right? Holy shit. BuzzFeed needs to get on this.
Starting point is 00:58:02 That's a daily mail headline. What happened there? So I actually, I was having some oxtails at this Jamaica spot. Nice. It was really good. And I was talking to one of my friends that's in content. And I was like, I got to get to the crib, but I'm going to get a joint before I dip out.
Starting point is 00:58:19 Nice. And he's like, all right, bye. Later. I'm on the scooter, and I'm, like, having a great time. I got my headphones in. And it was my last day in L.A. And I'm just chilling, right? And I cut the street.
Starting point is 00:58:33 I thought the light was red or maybe it turned green. I don't know. But I felt like there was something, like, bro, that instinct you have is there. Because I was like, something was like, turn around. And I turn around. And I turn around. And I'm basically in bro's driver's seat. It was already too late.
Starting point is 00:58:48 You're already getting in the car with him. I know, right? And so, like, he hits me. And so, like, this is a car, this is me, and he hits me like this. So my back hits the, hits his window. Not windshield. Oh, the window. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Like, you know what Tesla's, they've got like that glass pan. It's like the window, glass panel, window. I hit the panel, shatter it. Shatter it, right? And so, and then, like, So this is hilarious to me because my hair was down. So I always imagine like flipping and then just hair everywhere. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:59:21 Who's that beautiful rag dog getting coming in the way? I hit that poor woman. And so, so like feet go up. Feet saw the sky. I was like, holy shit. And I knew like, all right, well, if I don't stick this land, I'm going to hit my head on the, on the LA pavement. So like, I was like, all right, hand. It's been great knowing you.
Starting point is 00:59:42 And I sacrificed them. Right. Damn. So I'm, and like, I'm moving as I'm in the air, right? And so I catch myself, I split this open. And, like, I'm so, like, worried about other people. Did you, like, flip over? Yeah, yeah, flip.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Like, I didn't, like, it was more of, like, a kick flip than a, you know what I mean. And so. Still, though. So, like, I hear, like, there's a lady, like, there were some industry plans there because there was a lady scream immediately. And I was like, man, who got the cameras on, man? Like, who hired that actress? And so I hear this scream and everybody,
Starting point is 01:00:14 rushes to me and I'm so like don't worry about me I'm like no I'm good don't worry and I'm like wait like everybody's like all right wait wait wait maybe not I look at my arm my arms bleeding and so I immediately call my girl and I'm like this is hilarious like I got here by a car this is so funny and so I'm like yo what are you doing watching something okay well I got here by a car I'm going to the hospital but I'm okay I'm good she's like Tony what and I'm like I'm good. I just didn't see him. He didn't see me. And now I'm about to go see a doctor. So and then my my other homie who lives out here, he was in at the time we didn't know this, but it's, it was the most important session of his life because he writes. He makes music. And he's like, I go,
Starting point is 01:00:59 yo, I got hit. I'm about to go to the hospital. I'm okay. No, actually, he didn't answer that phone call. He answered, he called me back while I was in the hospital. And he's like, what's going on? And I was like, I got hit, but I'm good. He was like, do I need to come? And I was like, no, you're in a session, it's important, and I've already been checked out. Like, at this point, I'm just kind of here, and they're going to give me stitches in my hand. Yeah. And he was like, no, he was like, no, I got to come.
Starting point is 01:01:19 And I was like, bro, I'm telling you, if I'm going to be done with this hospital visit and two, three hours, and then I'm going to just go home, like, stay there. Come to fight, like, he had had a placement and his song went like top 10 in the chart. So I'm glad he didn't leave. But I was like, you didn't ruin it with your selfish getting in my car. I know. Diva. but um it's always something with this guy
Starting point is 01:01:44 and so i'm in a hospital room pretty much all day and i was like i'll make a video about it fuck it yeah i'll be the guy with the hospital of wrist band on the story fuck don't really want to talk about it DM me though but uh but so my i wanted to make light of the situation and i was like uh i did like i did it with like fast and furious music and i was like when you get hit by a car but you survive too fast too furious and and and And so, like, the video blew up, and there were a lot of people that were like, he's just doing this for attention.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Yeah, duh. Yeah, well, yeah, that's kind of what comes with getting hit by a car. I have a page with five million followers on it, and it's named after me. Yeah, I'm not the most humble guy ever. And I got it by car. I'm going to talk about it. Yeah, that's kind of my thing. And so, that's your one reward for getting hit by the car.
Starting point is 01:02:31 And so, like, I just sat there and I was like, it could have been way worse. And, like, the doctors were like, you know, this could have been way worse. Like, they said, like, they had a dude a week prior. His bone was popping out of his leg. Got hit by a car on the scooters. Like, they were like, the doctors hate scooters. Yeah. And, like, what's hilarious is, like, a scooter back home.
Starting point is 01:02:51 Like, after that. Like, because I was like... Didn't learn your lesson, huh? Yeah, like, the reception was so bad. I couldn't get an Uber. And there was, like, a scooter just waiting there. Just, like, taunting it. Beckoning me there.
Starting point is 01:03:01 I was like, fuck it. Like a pie on a window cell? Exactly. I'll start floating to it. And so I was like... I like how you got hit by the car, and it was very, like, you don't want to give your girl the ick? Yeah, I know right
Starting point is 01:03:12 You're like, ah You know what It's like This guy Like when you can get by a car But you're nonchalant Ouch And so
Starting point is 01:03:22 She was actually pissed at me And so I get back home And at this time I was doing stand-up And I was like I have to get on this scooter ride back home
Starting point is 01:03:32 This is the best stand-up skit Or a stand-up special Ever Yeah And so now it's in my back pocket If I ever go to stand-up So it's great
Starting point is 01:03:40 You know Well, you know, it all worked out. Yeah. Were you embarrassed at all? My sister got hit by a car and was really embarrassed. Yeah, like, I was... I was like, she even told me she's like, no one talks about how embarrassing it is to be by car. It wasn't, I don't know, it wasn't embarrassed.
Starting point is 01:03:55 But I feel like my embarrassment receptors are off because we do content. That's true. So it's like, it was more like... You're a bad measure. I know, right? I was more like, I think the worst thing I did is I was obviously hurt and I'm telling people I'm okay. Immediately. Almost like anxious.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Like, oh, I'm okay. I'm right. Yeah. Don't worry about me. She landed on their windshield and got off and said, sorry about that. Yeah, like you picked up her bike and tried to ride away. You're mangled. I'm all right.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Family guy. It's all right. Don't worry about me. Don't worry about me. Yeah, like, no, I'm totally okay. Can you call 911 please? And start, it start the Heinleck, please. But other than that, like, it actually taught me like, hey, if something that happens again, ask for help.
Starting point is 01:04:34 Like, don't, like, that's, that was the only serious thing I thought. Like, you can't have something like that happen. And you're telling people you're okay. Because even though I pretty much was okay, I was bleeding a lot. I was being a lot. But other than that, I was like, the next time it happens, be for real. You got hurt. People help me.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Yeah, for sure. Which is nice. Except the lady who screamed. Yeah. You're a plant. Yeah. And it sucked because like the store that I was, got in front of, I had like, like, like they gave me these paper towels and I'm bleeding.
Starting point is 01:05:02 And I'm like, I'm not going to litter. I'm going to throw these away. Yeah. So I go into the store. She's like, mm-mm. Mm-mm. No. Take your bloody towel.
Starting point is 01:05:10 Please get out, please get out. And I was like, that's fair. It's please get it. You can keep it. Please get out. This next fun fact. I don't know how fun that last one was, but this one is in high school you made money during school between classes selling chips, chocolate, and honey buns.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Now, you say money, I was making a bag. I was making, like my mom started asking questions. She was like, yeah, where all this money coming from? I was probably the closet full of snacks that's in the house. Like, you know what I'm not selling drugs. Yeah. Yeah. I'm running game.
Starting point is 01:05:42 Don't worry about it. It was me and my best friend E. And we had realized we're like, hey, we're in this. We're in school for eight hours a day. We might. And it was like,
Starting point is 01:05:51 like it was right after the Obama's did the health kick. So like, like baked chips and like everything was healthy now. An apple with some bread as your lunch. I was like, all right. Like boom, I'll just bring some hot chips and some honey buns.
Starting point is 01:06:06 And like, you know, you know how schools do those like chocolate fundraisers? Yes, of course. I found them at a store and I was like you were selling them but just for you but like it was crazy because they were like they were 60 bars of chocolate it was like 30 bucks damn and I was like I'm making 30 a pop like let's do it and so I was brother I was probably making anywhere between 250 to 300 a day in school I was making more at school than that my job I had a job like so I would
Starting point is 01:06:35 leave school and a million dollars a day stacks of cash and I bought my car and I bought my car like with it like like i put the down payment i put like 6 000 down on my car and it was a 2015 hondo cord shouts out to the hansi and then i used and then i quit school and use that car to like sell life insurance i i went into sale it was just crazy yeah i that's my next one about it was that when you left when you were 19 you worked as a life insurance agent yeah like you don't want to hear something crazy so did i really i'm not even kidding hold it around the same age it was like 21 who would you sell for do you remember If I ever say who I sold for it.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Wait. I bet I know. We'll talk about it after. We'll talk about after. Because I found out I was like, oh, this might be like a pyramid scheme. I'm not even kidding. I think I know it is. But it worked for me.
Starting point is 01:07:26 I was making money. Listen, and I'll tell you this, if it's who I think it is, it's not a pyramid scheme, but it is an MLM. Yes. And those aren't illegal. Yeah. They're just annoying. But like, people don't understand that, like, that's the life insurance. Hello.
Starting point is 01:07:41 It's all, like, it's actually all an MLM. And I'll tell you this, there's many other MLMs that exist that are not useful, like life insurance, us doing the pitch. I know, right? And so basically, you're going to die one day, Joe and Mary. I know the exact pitch you're saying, you're like, we're all going to die. And then when they look up bad things and they're like, I heard it's a pyramid scheme. You go, well, I didn't think you were someone who believed everything you read on the internet.
Starting point is 01:08:03 The pyramids are still standing in easier. We've lived the same life. fucking nuts. Like, what's going on? I know. I did that too. I remember, too, that it was, um, I learned a lot at that job. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:19 It was actually a dope experience. I agree. Yeah. After the MLL, like I got a policy. My girl does. Same. Yeah, same. Because it's like, it's true.
Starting point is 01:08:27 I actually know so much about life insurance. And what people really don't get is that's how rich people build generational wealth. Like, are you laughing. I know. That's the pit. It is the pit. I love it because it's the pitch. But it's also.
Starting point is 01:08:40 It's true. It's also true. Like, millionaires will get a million dollar policies on. Basically, A, B, or C, gold silver platinum program, which one do you want? I know all about whole life term. IUL. I know all about it. And so, it was, honestly, it was great. How I got hired is I was chilling.
Starting point is 01:09:02 It was my friend's friend. Did you get recruited? No, that's the crazy. I recruited myself. Did you go to a meeting? No. No? I'm telling you, it's crazy.
Starting point is 01:09:10 So I get there, I get to my, so my friend's like, yo, my friend Marv is having a party pull up. And Marv is like a year older than me. So I'm 19 at this time. He's 20. Yeah. And he's in like a penthouse downtown where we live. And I'm looking around. I'm a nosy fuck.
Starting point is 01:09:25 So I'm like, yo, bro, what do you do and how much do you make? Like immediately. And he goes, oh, I sell life insurance. And I was like, really? He's like, yeah, bro. He's like, I'm making like $2,000 a week. $2,000 a week. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:37 I was like, bro, put me on. Right. And he put me on. And so he actually Like quit before I even really got hired Yeah First of all there's the red flags right there My dumb ass
Starting point is 01:09:49 I'm just thinking to myself 2,000 a week That's all I need to make it I agree And so I'm talking to the To like the managers And they're like Marv told you he was making $2,000 a week And I was like
Starting point is 01:10:02 Yeah so he said he said it's possible And oh no it's possible Like I've made more than that in a week Marv has it I'm like, I'm a month into the job. Yeah. Like, Marv's not here. Right.
Starting point is 01:10:15 All right, well. He's a bad recruiter. I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. But like, I really, I mean, I started, like, talking to people and, and, like, my main thing
Starting point is 01:10:25 was referrals. Yeah. So it's like, if I sold, if I sold. I know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:31 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I hated leads. Yeah. Yeah. Me too. I didn't want to do it myself.
Starting point is 01:10:35 So I was like, I was just referring more than anything. but like obviously I got my own my own shit too Oh you're talking about putting your friends on? Yeah like I did that too but I mean for the for the policies Yeah yeah yeah for that like I was recommending people But I did do the business for real Yeah In fact my sister makes this is one of the funniest jokes she's made
Starting point is 01:10:52 But she says I think that people should have to do what we did Yeah That exact thing like mandatory conscription Like how in Korea they have to serve Yeah She was saying I think they have to do an MLM like this Specifically for life insurance And they have to take it seriously for at least two of the years
Starting point is 01:11:07 She was like, I really do think it makes people a better worker and a better person. And I don't know. Was yours in person or over the internet? Or like on like a Zoom? It was in person when I started doing it. It went to Zoom because of COVID. So like I started thinking to myself like, bro, I was 19 years old walking into a stranger's house for an hour and leaving with their social security, hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Their bank information and their health information. I agree. And I'm like, what the. What the fuck was he on back then, bro? I could like, now that I've done content, like, like, and, and your sister's right, because it, there's nothing that can get to me, bro. I've got, like, bro. Like, I, and what sucks is like, like, like, I still remember one person social by heart because it was so easy to remember.
Starting point is 01:11:54 And I still remember it. Like, I'm never going to use it. But it's like, bro, like, it's crazy that like, and, and I ain't a lot of people that wait to trust it because I would be like, man, there ain't no way I'm giving you my social. But you're 19 years old. Like, you can't even get life. No, fucking same. Same.
Starting point is 01:12:11 But I mean. You know what's funny is when I first started dating, uh, my man now, he came to, I remember they should, like, I think my mom showed me a picture of the two of us and we were doing that. I was doing this for a living and he was just like supporting me. And, uh, I was doing the, the insurance stuff and we were at some sort of like job fair or something. And we were all in matching polos. My man and I, like my man is no jack shit about it.
Starting point is 01:12:36 Like, and he just started dating. me. And I was looking at the picture and I thought to my, I literally said out loud. I was like, God, that man loves me so much. Like, he would not be there if he did not love me because there was no point in him coming. But he really did like understand it and like believed in it with me. Because it's true. Obviously, it's real. There are many MLMs that are not helpful. Like, you know, I was just, that's so funny because I was, I was keying with one of my girls on TikTok about, she was like making fun of this guy that was saying something about, oh, I make a lot of money. I'm a financial person. But he was.
Starting point is 01:13:07 wasn't disclosing what he did. And then all he said was that he day trades. And then I put day trading so 4X. Yeah. And on the way to the studio, this random guy responded to my comment in her video and wrote, yeah, probably 4X. I'm licensed, though. I have the receipts to prove it.
Starting point is 01:13:25 And then I literally wrote, why would you want to prove that to me? I don't give a fuck. Yeah, what? I don't fucking care. And he was like, I'm just saying it's not a scam. And I said, I never said it was a scam. I said it's an MLM. And also, I don't give a fuck.
Starting point is 01:13:37 Like you're talking to the wrong bitch Like my point being There are many unhelpful MLMs Yeah That's not one of them. Yeah If you don't got a policy Where it gets you one Just go through a good
Starting point is 01:13:49 Yeah Go through a trust Yeah yeah Yeah Yeah But like the one thing that made me Realize it was really important It ended up selling this lady
Starting point is 01:13:57 And her mom And her mom died a month later And we paid out And I was like Okay like this is fire My sister had that experience too actually Where she You sold life insurance too?
Starting point is 01:14:06 Yeah Like we all we all did it we all do as a family we did it as a family But she did the same thing where she she helped her friend get a policy and then she paid out on that too for him and like helps which like that part of it is crazy it's crazy like giving like giving the family that check and stuff it's nuts yeah like the daughter had called me and she was like I wasn't even gonna she's like I wasn't gonna let y'all in the house I didn't want to do the the meeting yeah because I just didn't know y'all and she was like you're helping me pay for the for the funeral stuff yeah I was like I was like I was like I was Because, like, I'm 19, like, I'm not worried about death. I'm just like, damn, that's crazy. Yeah. But it was just, like, I think my, bro, my first year, I closed at like 60 racks.
Starting point is 01:14:46 19 years old. Like, bro, I was, I was hustling, for real. And like, I would have recruited your ass too, shit. It was so easy. Like, I would sell somebody, you got a brother or a sister? And they're like, yeah. Like, oh, well, they're your beneficiary. So I have to talk to them.
Starting point is 01:15:00 No, you don't. Like you don't? A salesperson. Exactly. And they're like, okay. And then I would go into the beneficiary. be like, yeah, your sister got this kick-ass policy. And basically if she dies, like, she's going to be, you know,
Starting point is 01:15:11 her family's going to have the money for it. And she's doing really good. And it was a really good idea for her to get it. And they'd be like, Now streaming. Disney Plus invites you to go behind the scenes with Taylor Swift in an exclusive six-episode docu-series. I wanted to give something to the fans that they didn't expect.
Starting point is 01:15:29 The only thing left is to close the book. The end of an era. And don't miss. Taylor Swift, the Ares Tour, the final show, featuring for the first time the tortured poets department. Now streaming, only on Disney Plus.
Starting point is 01:15:49 I kind of want some. Oh, you do? Well, I just so happened to bring it. I think that's like, look at us. We're both still believing it, though, because we're both still giving the facts. I swear to God, please do. Like, that's very.
Starting point is 01:16:08 important and if you have like a baby like like now see now I'm gonna spit life insurance is based on your age and your health the older you get the more expensive it is and unfortunately the more unhealthy you are it's harder to get it yeah so if you have a baby you can put your baby on it's like a 30k whole life for like 10 bucks a month and you'll keep it forever so look into that for your kids you know what I mean it's very true it's very true he's not he's not getting anything like I'm not getting nothing you know what I mean And I'm like, that brings us to our sponsor today. Just kidding.
Starting point is 01:16:44 Okay. And then the last one says you were in a Papa John's commercial with Shaq. Yep. Which we already knew. Right. How was it working with Sha? I worked with Shaq a year or two ago. He's great.
Starting point is 01:16:53 He's great. He's great. Yeah, he's like a, he's like an urban legend. Like, like, in like the sense of like, uh, like, uh, you know how a slender man's like a legend? It's not scared. Like a slender man, but it's like a slender man. But it's like, you hear about slenderman. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:10 So it's like, you hear about Shaq. And, like, for some reason, Shaq's, like, kind of in your life because you're American and basketball. Yeah, you're like, it's like, yeah, it's like, you know what I mean? And then you, and then you see him. And you're like, holy shit. He's really right there. It's true.
Starting point is 01:17:24 And he's taller than you expect. Like, however tall you think. Even bigger than I could have ever imagined, yeah. However tall you think Shaq is, add like four or five inches. For real. And, like, he'd put his hand on my shoulder and it went down and, like, here. And I was like, yeah, bro, there's a reason you were. a goat like you're just like bro like you're like a tree like the big man yeah he he came on
Starting point is 01:17:44 alive with me um when i did ticot in the mix a couple years ago with me and my friend eric sedenio and uh my friend eric loves to wear wigs and like we shack had said at one point that he would wear the wig yeah but then when he sat down he was like i'm not wearing that shit on live mind you and i was like all right and then like my friend eric was trying to ask him questions and then he was like ask me another question ask me another question he's kind of strange. And then I go, you want another question? He goes, yeah, a good one. And I go, okay, would you rather die by fire or die by freezing? And then he was just looking at me and I go, well, and then he goes, why would you ask me a question like that? Okay, what do you want to say?
Starting point is 01:18:21 You said something interesting. I said, okay, I'll say mine. I'd rather die by fire. Mind you, we're on live. Yeah. So I'm like, what about you, Eric? And the good thing is, if you die, your life insurance. And what have you died right now? But He was fun. He was a good time. I like that he's able to be a little bit silly. I appreciate that. I give people like Shaq,
Starting point is 01:18:44 like celebrities like Shaq, a little grace. Me too. Because it's like, y'all don't understand. The fact that he's not, I mean, a freakazoid oddball,
Starting point is 01:18:54 jumping out of buildings, like, and he's been so famous for so long. You're right. It's like, I get it. Like, and I've learned that for content creators too.
Starting point is 01:19:02 And that's why when you said, if you're in it for just the money or just like the fame, yeah. It's like, you don't understand. like it's it's not natural to be able to open your phone and talk to millions of people really not at all and they're able to comment like even if it's good like i always say like people talk about the
Starting point is 01:19:16 bad comments and no one talks about the good comments that's very true that shit can like i mean destroy your dopamine and fucking you start like you can start like feeding too much into the positive yeah exactly it's like then you got somebody who loves you who's saying hey you're doing a good job but it's not 10 000 people so right you know what i mean and so like the like if shack's a little weird or if any celebrities are a little weird. A little. They're all a little weird. Yeah. I'll give you a little bit of grace. He's like getting really weird. It's like, bro. I don't care how
Starting point is 01:19:44 famous you are, but like. I agree with you though. And I know what you mean by that because you're talking about like just generally how they interact with people. And I agree because, and you know this too. Like with the amount of famous people we've met at this point, especially ones who have been famous for a long fucking time. I've said before like they
Starting point is 01:20:00 don't get treated normally ever. Like unless it's by their like close personal friends and family. But like anytime they're anywhere where people are new, like they're always treated very strange or not talk to at all. Like a specimen. Yeah. Like they treat them very strange and weird.
Starting point is 01:20:17 So it's like when you like fuck with them and make fun of them or poke them, they enjoy it because they're like, okay, this person doesn't think I'm weird and like untouchable. And sometimes they're assholes. But that's very far and few between. I honestly haven't had many like negative interactions with celebrities. Yeah. I've had one. Me too.
Starting point is 01:20:34 I've had one pretty bad one. the most, the rudest people I've ever met are reality stars. Really? Yeah, like reality people. I love Islanders. Yeah, like dating, like dating shows. Yeah. Like those are the ones that have been the rudest to me or like competition, like shows.
Starting point is 01:20:48 And it's I think because sometimes in those parties where we're commingling. Yeah. They for some reason think they're more traditional Hollywood than we are. Yeah. Like they still think they're like above us. You're on the quickest time limit actually. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:01 Like, come on. Yeah. We're actually in much different areas in my opinion. Yeah. Like I don't give a fuck if you're here. Yeah. But I haven't had, I've only had one like truly negative celebrity. Well, actually two.
Starting point is 01:21:14 No, I'm thinking about it. Well, one was like when I was working. One was just like in passing. And that's, I would say, pretty good average for doing this for a long time. Yeah. Not too bad. I think for most of them, they just want to be treated normally. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:25 With Shaq, I, like we had had a script ready. And I forgot why, but they kind of did away with the script. And so, um, I, um, I, It just wasn't, I don't know, it just wasn't meshing well. And so we were like, all right, we're just going to do it. And, like, I mean, it's cameras like this. And it's my first time being there. I'm with Shaq.
Starting point is 01:21:44 We're in this. We, they bought a house to, like, film this. I'm like, holy shit. And so I messed up my line. And he, he cracked the joke at me. He goes, he goes, ah, you don't got it. You don't got it. And then I was like, I don't know, like, I'm a prideful fuck.
Starting point is 01:21:58 So I was like, that. Like, Shaq, you just met your fucking maker, Shaq. Now I'm going to nail that fucking line. And then the next time I did, and I was like, do you like that big man? And he started dying. And he goes, oh, I like him. And I was like, why. And so now, like, when I see Shaq, like, it's those little, like moments that they really remember.
Starting point is 01:22:19 I agree. And it's like, boy, you think about how many people's Shaq meets or how many, like, like, people's celebrities meet. Yeah. And they're like, oh, how you been? Yeah. And it's like, me? Like, I'll be good. But I met Chris Evans earlier this year.
Starting point is 01:22:32 I think I saw that video. Yeah. Yeah, like I, I, I, when I met him, he came up, they were like, oh, this is Drew. I was working with 824, who I love. They're awesome. Yeah. And they were, he was like, oh, nice to me. I was like, hi, I'm Drew.
Starting point is 01:22:43 He's like, Chris, nice to meet you. And I go, can I be honest? I thought about going, remind me your name again? And I chickened out. And then he laughed. He was like, I wish you did. That would have been funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:52 He's honestly funny. Like, he's, he's a silly goose. But like, when we started, he was like, God, this is my bad side. And I go, is it? He goes, yeah, I go, that sucks. Are we ready to roll? Oh, like for the camera? See, it's crazy like a celebrity,
Starting point is 01:23:07 like, your life is on the camera and you're still like... And that's why we were laughing about it because he was like, yeah. I think he was just being difficult on purpose to be funny. And then I was like... Oh, okay, it was answer.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Yeah, and I was like, that sucks. All right, are we rolling? We're good, yeah, okay, perfect. And even like, I could tell that he was like, you can always tell when celebrities are pretty much at the end of like their press tour because they're kind of like
Starting point is 01:23:30 answering the same shit like over and over again. So he gave me this really like he was asking him like standards of like how do you feel being here blah blah And he was giving me really great like poignant answers then he gave me this really long eloquent answer and then media trained down like he has that he has that answer memorized right and so then after you finished I was like you know I was like you fucking nailed that dude and then he's like deny it and he's like yeah he's like give me high five and we fucking dapped each other up yeah and then we laughed and then he left and I was like and when he left she was like did you want to ask him like more silly? questions. I was like, let him go. He's tired. It doesn't want to be here. You should have said, we can do this all day. You should have like, bro, you should have something like that.
Starting point is 01:24:11 We can't keep meeting like this. God, you want to be with me so bad. I know. I even like I did an event literally a week or two ago and I met one of the guys from the Menendez Brothers show like Nick Chavez. I think he's his name. Nice guy. But when I was talking to him, he made it, he answered my question and was saying, oh, I had this party at my house and I was like hosting these people at my house he kept saying like I had a party at my house said it like three times and then after the third time I go you had a party at your house and didn't invite me that's fucked up and then he I don't know if he was thought I was being serious I'm assuming because he goes I literally just met you I just met you and that would have made me mad
Starting point is 01:24:49 hey do you think I wanted to go to your party and he said that and I go oh you just met me so you can't invite me to your house all right I just come in I'm like you You want to act like that? Then I'm going to act for real. And then I was like, it's fine, it's fine. You didn't invite me. I got it. I got it.
Starting point is 01:25:06 I got it. And then at the end, he was like, oh, I get it. Oh, God. It's a quick one. I was like, well, thank God you got there eventually. I hate when people don't get my jokes. Oh, my God. And then you got to be like, wait, no, I'm not a piece of shit.
Starting point is 01:25:22 I thought you would like this. I'm so sorry. I just commit at that point. Yeah, why not? Yeah, just hit them. You've actually watched me. You talked about that the last thing you were here. You watched me live.
Starting point is 01:25:32 That happened to me. What part? When? Because we were at Coachella. Yeah. And then that guy we met, I made a joke and he didn't get it. Yeah, I loved that joke. And then I stood there and I was like,
Starting point is 01:25:41 and you know it was crazy? You know what was crazy? Like, I'll never forget. I was like, you were like behind me and I'm like, you know what I mean? And then I hear the joke, I go, well, glad I had one. Yeah. That's why I said fucking, oh, tough room.
Starting point is 01:25:57 My fucking bad. That's why I hate when I hate when they don't get my jokes. At that point I'm like I hate I hate when I do like a like a mean joke like it's like oh I'm gonna be fake mean and we're gonna all laugh at this and they go oh no no no please please I'm sorry I was being silly my mom would hate it if you thought I was mean yeah my mom's gonna see this ease no for real okay to wrap us okay uh do you know we're doing a show we're just chopping it up Bro, there's cameras here. Holy shit. You're so good at this, bro. Period.
Starting point is 01:26:33 So good at this. Do you have any advice for any aspiring creatives, whether they're, like, going to start on social or if they want to write like you or do anything else? Do you have any advice for them? Yeah. And funny enough we talked about it earlier in this episode, but it's like you have to believe in yourself.
Starting point is 01:26:50 And, like, you have to trust yourself. And that's really hard. Because, like, you start to, there's, like, kind of two you. The you that you are and the you that you want to be. And to get to that you that you want to be, you have to really just believe in yourself. And it's like, you're going to sound cocky to people. I don't care what you think.
Starting point is 01:27:07 I'm going to do it. I can't wait to see it. Yeah, you will. And they'll be like, oh, he's a cocky guy. Yeah, I am. Like, you can't. I'm cocky about me. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:27:16 Right. Exactly. And you can't, like, I mean, I love Kendrick Lamar. And the line that really spoke to me is, I can't fake humble because your ass is insecure. What do you? Oh my gosh. And so like, and that's what I try to do.
Starting point is 01:27:30 I used to try to downplay myself around people. So, oh, yeah, I make jokes, but, you know, they're kind of funny. And like, now I'm like, now I'm the funniest guy in it. And many people would agree with you. Myself included. And if people don't agree, they don't agree. Yeah. But I do.
Starting point is 01:27:45 So. I think the same thing. I think, well, one of us gets paid to do it for a living. Exactly. And so. I think I'm pretty good. Let's check tape. I have tape.
Starting point is 01:27:53 You don't even have tape. Let's check tape. And so that. And then, like, Like, people don't really, like, consistency is, and none of this is going to be, like, the secret sauce that you probably haven't heard ever before. The reason why you keep hearing these things is because that, that's a sauce. For real.
Starting point is 01:28:10 And so it's like the consistency. And I realize, once you learn the lesson of consistency, I've had this saying in the back of my mind, like, consistency is a paint that can go on any canvas. So it's like, working out, being a better person, creative, work. Like if you are consistent in anything that you do, you'll get better at that thing. And it doesn't have to include money or fame or anything like that. It really could be if you want to be a better son, a better daughter, a better anything, you've got to be consistent at it.
Starting point is 01:28:39 And you've got to be more consistent than anybody around you. I agree. You got to, you got to, hey, I can't go to this thing because I got to shoot this. I got to write this. I got to, you know, whatever. You got a sacrifice for yourself. And then there is no, okay, I'm just going to get to this point. and then everything's going to be like cake for me.
Starting point is 01:28:58 I'll just live off my name. Right. You got to keep doing it. You got to do the work to get here. Then you got to do more work to like do more things. Like, bro, like you have, bro, you have employees here. And you have like a makeup crew, a set design, cameras. Like that shit don't just happen.
Starting point is 01:29:16 Right. You know what I'm saying? It took you years to get to that point. So like be easier on yourselves and understand that like it really takes 10,000 hours. Right. Really does. I agree. And I've said the same thing that you've said and also like if I really do believe this and I'm sure you do too, if you really have something, it will happen. Like if you stay consistent. Like you said, consistency is a huge thing. I tell people all the time. I posted every single day for over two years. Yep. Well into three years at that point. Like I was like I was every single day I posted at least once. And that was just because I wanted to, but also because I wanted to stay consistent with it. So it's like I really do believe if you have. have if you have something to offer the world, it will manifest for you.
Starting point is 01:30:00 And most people, let me not say most, but like, yeah, I'll say, fuck it. Most people don't give themselves enough time to where they can look back at something and go, man, I sucked when I started, but look at me now. Yeah. And I feel like that's one of the biggest, like, and it's a moment that you have with yourself. Because it's like you've been, no matter who's been on the journey with you, you've been on the journey like the whole time. You know the ins and outs, the secrets, the things that nobody has seen about what you do and how you do it. So it's like sometimes, and maybe you do this too, like, you ever just go and see your like oldest videos?
Starting point is 01:30:38 Yeah, man, I used to suck. Yeah, I cringe really bad. Yeah. It's hard for me to look back to, you honest. I don't like it. I'm over here. Back then I was like, I'm shadow man. Like it's them not me.
Starting point is 01:30:49 But like, but like it really was me. And it was like, it's because this is a skill and I had to get better at it. And so now, like I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, like, you're just didn't see the misses. Yeah. Like you, you, you'll never see a miss. At this point, you're not going to see misses. Yeah. I'm better at the skill now.
Starting point is 01:31:05 But like, like, you saw me back then, you would have seen them. But that's the same way. When you say, like, people can't perceive themselves, like, what if I make a video and it's so bad and everyone sees it. Well, that's not how algorithms work. Right. When a video is bad, no one will see it. That's the best part about it. And that's what people don't get.
Starting point is 01:31:20 That's actually such a good one. Yeah. So unless it's like really like it's like it gets on cringe pages. But like but even like you're not going to get on those. Yeah. But yeah. Like so I was like, oh, these videos aren't doing well. It's them not me.
Starting point is 01:31:31 And then I realize maybe it's me. Maybe I really need to take the time and learn my craft and get better at it. And then now I make it like even bro, I made a video like two or three days ago. And it's my favorite video I've ever made. I know that.
